We walked in, was never greeted but ordered beer anyway. The bartender just blindly looked at us without saying much. Supposedly they serve food but that's only after looking at the boards. Not much help in that category either. We'll just walk past this one next time.

If you went to the NW Peaks brewery, this is the new location. The beer here is really good. I had the Esmeralda which was like a fruity brown ale. It was really great! I also tried the pale ale which was also really good. They have pizza and while we didn't order any, we saw some go by and it looked tasty. We did have some nuts and pretzels which were a great bar snack! I will definitely be back here again!

Beer Lovers! Seriously, get your happy asses IN HERE! I didn't think after The Two Bit Saloon closed that I'd ever be back, but the operator NW Peaks Brewing has really made the place look great and they carry an amazing line of beers, along with a number of your favorite beers they don't make. Most days it's Casey at the taps and he is a stand up guy!

We came here on a Sunday after Hilliard's; we'd decided to head to Ballard in search of breweries & just go wherever looked good. I'd never actually seen this place before but I'm glad we discovered it! There weren't many people inside when we got there but a few others trickled in as we were drinking. There was a very friendly gentleman at the bar reading a book, & he really enjoyed petting our dog. Did I mention they're also dog- (and kid) friendly? Yep, they are! I had the oatmeal lager, which I liked, and everyone else I was with enjoyed their beer as well. None of us ate anything, but I could smell their pizza & it smelled delicious - I'd love to come back & try it sometime. Loved the maps on the tables as well - we had a lot of fun with those. :)

Tried this place out on Friday night with a small group of friends. For only being open a few weeks, you couldn't really tell (except for their lack of permanent signage). Fantastic beer selection - all NW Peaks, with the exception of one guest beer and one guest cider. The Bergschrund serves pizza, and also has a food truck on premises frequently. They also allow you to bring food in or have food delivered to the brewery. The interior is very "mountain-y" and features solid wood tables and bars, with a TV and an extra room for larger groups. Service was friendly, welcoming, and the bartender was knowledgeable. It's a very low-key scene, and you can tell it is primarily locals who make up the patrons of this spot. Dog-friendly! If you love supporting Ballard nano-breweries, you have to try this place out. It's a fine addition to the local tap room landscape.

Great new beer spot in ballard. Solid selection of beers and knowledgable staff, good location and fair prices. Not a huge party scene, most of the people are low key and friendly. We will come here again!
