This place is kinda strange. It's like a Georgetown atmosphere with a Belltown crowd. That said, it's pretty cool on a chill weekday. It draws comparisons to Sun Liquor, mostly in name alone. But you can sit at the bar and have a nice custom cocktail. Just less good and at a higher price. On the weekend though, it's a total shitshow. The bartenders do their best, but when it's bumpin, this bar is reverts to a standard sub-par cocktail spot. So why bother? There are easier, cheaper places to get laid. It IS something different on the hill though, so good enough, eh? eh.

Thank goodness for bday parties ... otherwise I never would have found this solid bar. Elaboration below: Location: Off the beaten path ... located on the road-less-traveled, Minor street. None-the-less, it's just barely on the capitol hill side of I-5 so it's an easy stop when coming to/from downtown. Ambiance: Medium sized bar with classic decor ... including black leather barstools and stained wood bartops ... has a 50's mad men feel to it. Had enough space to comfortably accommodate a bday party of 15-20 people ... in addition to the other patrons there between 10-12am. Service: I never had to wait for a drink ... and was even offered help by another bartender when I was just waiting for my order - such a pleasant surprise from the usual bar scene that takes so much effort. The bartender was also very helpful in selecting drinks from their cocktail focused menu. Drinks: I tried the following from their menu: California Prayer Book (CPB), Southern Belle (SB), and Minor Mule (MM) ... and I would rate them in that order. CPB was bold with rye spice, SB was strong and not too sweet (in a good way) ... maybe a bit too much vodka, and the MM was also vodka strong with the ginger ale not contributing much to balancing the drink. If you're not into cocktails, they have Stella on draft. Additional Notes: I spent less than 2 hours here so I don't feel like I have fully formed my opinions ... my gut says this will definitely be more of a place to meet a group of people you already know ... instead of going there to make friends. A future visit is definitely in order ...

BAD service. We walked in and the staff looked directly at us then looked directly away. Rude. We should've walked directly right outta there but decided to bite le ol' tongue and order a drink. Because I wasn't feeling le ol' liquor, I got a bottle of Newcastle and parked le behind at one of their tables. The staff never approached us, we figured if we have to walk up to the bar again to order another drink, it is time to go. So we walked up and paid the tab then left. Had my date been lame, this would be a terrible experience. Since he wasn't, I'll up it one star.

Extremely disappointed to say the least. I have never seen a bartender sit at his well and not serve the patrons sitting at the actual bar. We had a group of about 20 celebrating a birthday and ended up taking the party elsewhere. If you want any kind of service at all, I don't recommend going to this place.

Love this place. I like that it's never too crowded and serves great drinks. Always a pretty mixed crowd. Service depends on the night that you go there, which is a little weird. Sometimes we have someone serve us a drink at the table, sometimes we have to go to the bar - no matter how crowded it is. Went there last night and were a little put off by the fact that we waited for 10 minutes while the bartenders stared at us, and ended up going up to the bar. But then a few minutes later two girls came in and one of the bartenders dashed around the bar to serve them. A little consistency either way would be appreciated, but didn't turn us off.

Oh Still....! you amaze me every time. I love your timeless and creative spins on cocktails. You are really a breed of your own as LIQUOR is in your name no doubt. It's pretty inspiring coming in here. I do love intriguing spirits and unique concoctions. and every bartender here knows how to throw me a new taste. Very important in my line of work. I think the best part is that you can come here, enjoy your particular flavors, chat up the locals & bartender, and "STILL" walk home completely satisfied. This place had a millions ways to make me appreciate it as a neighborhood bar as well as a good meet up joint. Regardless of how much I move and bustle around the hill, STILL, you will surely see me again.

I'd rate this place zero stars if it were possible. They make horrible drinks! Not sure how you can mess up a vodka tonic, but they managed to make it taste disgusting. Also decided to use fireball to make old fashions????? Every one of the drinks we got were gross, one of my friends let the bartender know this. Apparently what goes for customer service here is to tell the patrons that they can get the hell out if they don't like them because that late in the evening they shouldn't expect good drinks (1am) and then forcibly remove them from the bar. Avoid this place if you expect good drinks and to not be treated rudely!

First time here and it was pretty cool. Don't come here if you're trying to get your grind on ;P lol It's super chill and the DJ has the right music to go with the vibe. There's not to much seating inside so be prepared to do some standing.

Still Liquor follows the speakeasy fashion, but does so in a simple, timeless way. The large space feels fairly isolated, despite it's Capitol Hill location, thanks to the space in the old BMW paint shop down a narrow alley, and some minimalist but elegant treatment. One subtle sign tells you you're there -- no blaring neon giveaways from liquor and beer companies give away the dark windows. Still has the self confidence to present an exterior that no one would ever find if they weren't looking for it. And the cocktails are artful without being flamboyant -- you'll want to work your way through the entire menu of special drinks. P.S. Has anyone EVER had a bad cocktail with muddled cucumber?

this place has some serious mojo going on! their use of dark furniture, the big windows with a view of the skyline, their delicious drinks... their use of lines...beautiful. if you're more into the content of the place rather than the aesthetics, i suggest you check out their cocktails. though i did not have their delicious looking cocktails (because of lent), i did have a glass of their house pinot and... *whew* it was goood. i think i told joel, the bartender that i was in love with it and wanted to marry it. (yes, it was that good that it'll make you say some crazy things...) i'm so use to house reds being this horribly cheap, terrible, thing they try to call "wine" but this house red... mmmm so good.... the only reason why i'm docking a star is because of their small beer selection. pbr and rainier only? such a classy place with such un classy beers... give me a manny's at least! or guiness! or something! i could go on and on about why this place is such a great bar. instead, i suggest you go down there and check it out yourself. it is gorgeous.

I love the space at the newly opened Still Liquor, it's very open, and looks great; a perfect spot to stop off for a few drinks. We stopped by here right when it opened for the evening at 5, so we easily got a spot at the bar with the friendly bartender. I had the Dragon's Toe - a bourbon and cucumber concoction, and my gf had the namesake drink, The Still, which was tequila based. Both were excellent, and cheap, due to happy hour. There is no food here yet, but they do have microwavable dinners for $20 if you choose to go down that path. I look forward to coming back here again with a group to try some more of their great cocktails! Salud!

This bar has a lot of potential, and over all, it's pretty good. Nice vibe--as rustic as things can apparently get in Seattle, which is not rustic at all, but merely evocative of what Seattle people would imagine for a rustic interior. Like unpainted wood and whatnot. Other reviews criticize the dark-haired lady bartender--and she is, let us say, not the warmest of characters. Now I appreciate this, because I am not the warmest of characters, but I can see that some might expect those in the service industry to have a different temperament. Allow me to illustrate by explaining a true (and I hope constructive) criticism of this place as a bar. It has unbelievably bad ice. I realize that to point this out makes me sound like a dick. But good ice (big dense chunks that melt slowly; I realize many writers swoon over clarity, but I don't really care because it doesn't affect the quality of the drink itself) is essential to cocktails and spirits. Cheap little shards of barely-frozen water can severely diminish the experience of drinking a cocktail, or sipping a fine whiskey. I go into this digression not only to point out that Still Liquor has the worst ice imaginable, but to highlight the reaction of the staff (specifically, the aforementioned dark-haired lady bartender). She appeared to take personal offense at my bringing this up, ignored me for a while, and was generally being passive aggressive after she heard my comment. Maybe I didn't make my criticism with enough delicacy. Not being a native to these parts, I am accustomed to sometimes sharp banter with bartenders, where there's an assumption that things are good-natured. Her reaction was not to perry and joust (like, perhaps, "well here our philosophy of cocktails is that the ice should melt more quickly, and we modulate our recipe for that," which would have been wrong, but interesting!), but to simply shut down. So, being the nice guy I am, I finally flag her down to apologize for what might have been indelicate phrasing, without retracting the substance. She came around, or at least better concealed her displeasure, and I left a good tip. I don't think she gave two shits about the ice. All of this is to say that, though Still Liquor has a good atmosphere and an extensive menu, lots of good drink specials, there's room for improvement. I daresay a staff trip to New Orleans would be edifying. At the very least, please--for the love of everything holy--let's do something about the ice.

There was a female bartender working the evening of August 15th Saturday and she was was extremely rude. I have never received such service. I felt so degraded and disrespected and I was a customer. I work in the service industry and I experienced an absolutely unacceptable customer service. This bar lost my business because of her.

Very lowkey, hidden away on a side street near Terra Plata on Cap Hill. DJ was spinnin the cuts, my fave: slow jamz/r&b/throwbacks so that definitely set the tone. 4 stars for the rare music selection. Older crowd, I felt young which is nice sometimes haha. It was pretty busy on a Friday night but not rowdy. Servers were attentive, no fighting for service. Relaxing ambiance with the low lighting, minimalistic concrete design, and open floor plan. And I'm always one for clean/spacious bathrooms, so two thumbs up there. Not the place to get ratchet, pound shots, and throw up. However, great bar to grab drinks and catch up with friends.

Last night ( Saturday) I came to this bar for the first time..and it's definitely going to be the last time. First bar of the night, my friends and I came in and we really loved the ambience and the music. However, the lady bartender with long dark hair ruined our experience. She was totally rude and talked to us as if we were stupid. I have never in my life experienced a bad customer service before so I was a bit surprised. Seriously, at least show that you care. If you hate your job, it's not our problem. You chose to work there. Have pride in what you do. If you don't like to deal with drunk people or hate to be in the loud crowd, you can always do 9-5 office job, you know? As you can see there are several yelp reviews on her , so it seems like she has been working here for a while..if any of you guys ever want to experience her rude and terrible service, I highly recommend you to come here!

Went here tonight. Decent drinks, but wow - pretty intensely negative energy from the young, female bartender with long dark-ish hair and glasses. No greeting, cold stares, and made our trio of women feel definitely unwelcome and awkward. When she mixed up our tabs and charged me the wrong amount, we got an over-the-shoulder smirk and that was about it. Why is she working as a bartender when she gives off that kind of vibe? Anyway, it left an impression, and we won't be going back there again.

My memory towards the end of the night was a bit fuzzy, but here's what I remember: solid drinks, no food, and overall, a nice, chill space. While it does get a bit lively later in the evening, for a Saturday night, the place was surprisingly, and pleasantly chill. None of us ever found ourselves having to yell in order to be heard, which is always a plus. As an additional plus, if you're looking to throw a group get together, Still Liquor is a pretty solid option - well, parking unavailability aside. But you can make reservations for large groups, and they neither charge a booking fee nor require a minimum drink order. ***Accessibility Info*** Venue - The place is pretty spacious, with bar seating and bar height tables on one side, and some normal height tables along the other. It never got super crowded, so getting around isn't terribly difficult either. Bathroom - Large, spacious, and accessible.

A few weeks ago , me and few friends stopped by on weekday night to grab a night cap. The red hair bartender was not polite and gave bad service. Overall we felt unwelcome and a hassle. Atmosphere was nice but service is lacking. (Take note of how many other reviews mention the rude/ stand-offish/ cold service)

Nice ambience. Nice drinks. Unfriendly, disinterested and "superior" bartenders. All unwelcome qualities. I have been twice and the theme is the same. Everything is great accept for the bartenders who are horrid. It's unfortunate. I am a forgiving person and have been to hundreds of bars (that's a little worrisome to be honest) and the treatment here by the staff is the worst I've ever seen. I hate feeling like it's privilege for me to be served. I call it like it see it.

I would have to agree with Kellem, the service I have received this evening was cocky and cold. Every bartender was short with us and couldn't be bothered to engage. In customer service the customer pays your rent. So it's YOUR choice how much you want them to put down after the interaction. That being said, I will say my drink was incredible. I recommend the Minor Mule which is a refreshing take on the Moscow Mule. The bartenders are fluid and skilled with their concoctions and it's neat to witness. (However, when I complimented the bartender on her artistic creation of my beverage she barely acknowledged me.) The laid back vibe combined with industrial chic interior design with elements of cement and wood interior design. The music (DJ Bamboo) is very party conducive--a mic of pop hits and funky beats. It seems like everyone is having a good time and I'm sure you will too if you're able to forget about the condescending taste in your drink.

The staff is very attractive and friendly, and the venue is very modern and clean. When I asked for a drink that they did not know of, they quickly looked it up and made it perfectly for me without help. Love it! However, the venue is very empty and bland. No art on the walls, simple design, lots of open floor space for a bar with quiet music. It was so open that I felt watched the entire time. Finally, I did not see any food menu, not even snacks or peanuts. Not asking for much here, just something to nibble on. Please provide.

This bar is part of my monthly Machiavelli routine. Friday night, get name on list at the restaurant then we hit Still for an hour or so. Mariah, the sweet cute bartender, has been serving me the now off menu New Lion for 3+ years. Place is modern without being sterile, has some interesting drinks and is kinda one of my fav spots in the city. Enjoy!

Order the Pimm's drink! Fruity and refreshing, it really hit the spot to start the evening off right :) When I first walked in, I immediately liked the overall look of the bar. After ordering my drink, I did notice that I kept leaning toward the small high windows like a flower, since it was still light outside a bit, and the dark tables in the far corner seemed ominous in comparison. Note to self: come back when it's completely dark in order to capture the full feel of the bar. Still Liquor has dodged the food requirement for serving alcohol, but I was kindly informed that I could bring my own food in. I'm 50/50 on this idea. I enjoy food and drink together IMMENSELY, and an inspired drink deserves inspired food, but since I am constantly snacking from my satchel that doubles as a cooler (not really) it's nice to know I won't get stared down for pulling out a banana randomly. The downer for me was the fact that the tiny tables were fixed to the ground. Still tables? This made socializing with our large group difficult unless we stood. I bet if we stayed a while without eating food, we would have been swaying instead of standing. However, this is a great place to go on a date. My guy doesn't imbibe on alcohol, so it may not be the best place for us to come, but the spacing of the tables allow more intimate conversations without shouting. I'm sure I'll be back!

After you get your ID checked by the super unfriendly person sitting at the door, you walk down a ramp and at the end of the ramp there's a sign that tells you to order at the bar. Good to know! There's a sign above the bar as well that says the same thing which I think is great so you know what to expect. I saw a couple of tables at the end that were reserved - I thought that was nice they offer reservations (not sure what restrictions they have). The place was pretty small, with bar seating, a few tables, and booths. There was also a small open area by the ramp/booths where people could just stand. The atmosphere is pretty chill and relax with dim lighting (I went on a Saturday night). I ordered their PIMMS'S CUP which was good, I have never heard of Pimm's before but found out it's based on gin and kind of fruity, I liked it. The bartender was very nice and fast with making the drinks.

We had a birthday party with 47 people including lots of friends that flew in. The bar service was horrible. One bartender was pained every time someone ordered a drink like we were putting her out? The staff was down right rude. If you hate serving people drinks, then being a bartender is not for you.

I came here on a Monday night so it was def on the slower side. I did, however, really enjoy it! It's super laid back, it isn't all fancy schmancy, and the bartender was really nice. My vodka soda was on point and my friend enjoyed his whiskey. Def a place to hit up for cocktails!

This was a very chill location, if you're looking for a place where you and your friends can sit and just chat. It does get a bit noisy with other conversations around the lounge, but nothing too crazy. This place is strictly drinks so grab some food before heading here. Hint: Lil Woody's or Taylor's Farm around the corner down the small hill if you don't want to go that far. I think it'd be nice to have food or tapas provided here. Location is down a street where it may look like an alley, but it's not. I like the location because it's not next to many other bars around the street, and inside was very open, yet what was a bit interesting was that the tables were bolted down. It kind of sucks if you have a big party and you aren't sitting in the booth directly across from the entrance. You'll have gaps between tables since we can't put them together. Also, you'll be ordering at the bar! No waiters or waitresses that will come to your table, and that sign as you walk in, it will say to order at the bar, not the typical sign "please wait to be seated". ;)

I was there with lots of my best friends including several who flew in from San Francisco, New York and tel aviv. The staff started off friendly but soon were very short tempered. By midnight they were rude to our girlfriends who were the ones paying for everyone. By 1.45 am they kicked us all out and short the door on my friend who was the birthday boy. Never going back again!

This is one of the best kept secrets in Seattle. While Zig Zag Cafe gets all the fame (deservingly so), the drinks here are just as good, if not better. I became a regular at here with some of my grad school friends, we'd roll in there on both busy nights and off nights and the drinks that Daniel made were some of the best I've ever had. Now that I moved away, this is one of my first stops when I go back into town. My drink of choice was an Old Fashioned, when Daniel made it, I knew exactly what I was getting. But you can always tell any of the bartenders what your mood was and they knew exactly what to make for you. There are a lot of places were you can order the same drink over and over and it will be inconsistent from drink to drink. Here, you know exactly what you're getting and it will always be quality. The owner is a cool guy as well who was always helpful when it came to hosting events. Only grown up drinks here so if you want a frat boy drink, do the bartenders a favor and go around the corner.

I have been to Still a number of times since it opened, but it seems to be going downhill. A recent visit will be the last. The service was nothing short of rude (or incompetent?). The bored bartender could hardly be bothered with us when we asked her for anything - even a drink menu. Had met the owner (or an owner) before and he was great. The decline is too bad. I really like the hideaway nature of the space. But, there are too many other places to spend money on the hill....

Planned a work-related happy hour for a group of about 15-20 people on a Wednesday evening. Not being a Seattle resident and planning this all the way from San Francisco, I relied on Yelp reviews and the proximity of Still Liquor to a work event where our group would be coming from. I'd emailed back and forth with the bar manager Mariah Scee to coordinate and she was responsive, friendly and easy to work with. She also makes a mean old fashioned. The space itself is fantastic for hosting a group our size and on a Wednesday evening it wasn't overly crowded (I imagine it gets busier during happy hour later in the week) or awkwardly empty.

  • Ninette C.

I really like this space. It's the right size...medium but feels cozy and its swanky yet rustic. I also agree with Marissa's review that its swanky but not pretentious. It's a good place to come with a group of friends. It's not super crowded or empty and the noise level is just right. It's nice and loungey! You can comfortably stake out an area and just hang out and chill with your friends. The bartender was nice and even the line for the bathroom wasn't too long. So I guess all in all, I'm saying Still Liquor strikes the right balance for just about everything!

Went there with a group of friends. First, was surprised by the location. It's on a small hidden street, where is tough to find parking. Narrow street with lots of cars parked on the side. We found parking up the street so didn't have to walk a whole lot. The first impression of the place is ok - the walls are bare concrete, lighting is simple. One nice aspect of it is the DJ right next to the entrance - i found this look cool. And the music was really nice. The place was packed. The crowd there was good to my standards - I can say lots of people from Amazon (spoke to several of them), so i felt home with other geeks. The lighting at the bar is awesome as well as the drinks we had.

Just discovered this gem next door. I was impressed with the quality of the cocktails, the service, the decor and the clientele. This is a great place to grab a stiff drink and chat. Be aware this is a cocktail bar, so not much beer on hand - for that try Pine Box down the street.

Ordered several rounds of drinks here recently. They put two extra drinks on my bill and when I asked them about it the bartender was VERY VERY rude. I paid the bill without further argument (as I did not want to make a scene) and will never come back again. In all reality, it is entirely possible that somebody in my group ordered a round and it was inadvertently placed in my bill, meaning that, perhaps, there was no ill-intent on the part of the bartender. That said, the bartender should have been more polite, and provided a credit for the two drinks (which made up maybe 10-15% of the bill), and accepted what would have been a larger tip which would have more than covered the drinks she refused to remove from the bill. Just very poor customer service, and very poor business sense, as treating customers like this is ultimately what puts small businesses like this out of business.

Very chill place to hang out with a friend if you want to prefunk OR if you're not feeling quite up to the task of debauchery-mode that is Capitol Hill during weekend nights. I've only had well drinks and champagne at this place, so I can't speak to any specialities or recommend any specific drinks. I really like it as a chill space though, and it's subtly tucked away on a side street between Pike and Pine. Seems very trendy in terms of looks, but the crowd seems laid back which I like.

Came here on a Friday night for a friend's birthday. Had a couple really great cocktails: a perfect Manhattan which was actually perfect, and a Negroni which was also fantastic. The bartenders really know what they're doing. It was quite loud and crowded, unfortunately, but I suppose that's par for the course on a Friday night. The ambiance left something to be desired as well. In any case, the drinks were great, so I'll be back.

Super laid back atmosphere with delicious drinks! The bartenders could be a bit faster and/or more attentive, but otherwise I LOVE this place. Plenty of seating and an impressive drink menu. Low lighting with a busy, but not too noisy atmosphere. Oh yeah, and they play 90s hip hop music. LOVE IT.

Sleek urbane lounge. Like the college bf when you were in h.s., Still Liquor is The Cools. Craft cocktails with clever house takes. Outstanding ambiance - not too loud, excellent DJ. Friendly bartender, good service.

I love this place! I was out looking for a bar that makes a solid French 75 (an on going quest of mine) when I walked past a sign on the sidewalk indicating "Free Jazz, No Cover". I love jazz and my attempts to find a decent drink had failed so far, so I decided to go down the dark street and try this place out. I am so thankful that I did! As I walked in, the band was playing and the bartender was busy at work. It was a Monday night so the place wasn't packed. Most of the seats at the bar itself were taken but there was plenty of seats around. This location is nice and spacious and seems like a great place to hangout during busier nights. I ordered a French 75 and I was very impressed with the drink I was given. The bartender knew exactly how to make one (not a common drink but not a difficult drink to make either). The portions of gin and champange were right on, the hint of lemon was delicious, and the way he prepared the lemon twist was to be admired. This was easily one of the best (top 5) French 75's I've had in this city. I can't wait to come back and bring some friends!

Still lovely. After an appearance at the opening party for a rather disappointing new Hill bar (Steampunk! Dark! Not!), my lovely Yelp date and I needed something better. To quote: "Not feeling it." But you know where you can feel it, it being that experience of quiet weekend energy, tucked away in an authentic simple space with lovely drinks, happy chatter and friendly bartenders on a chilly late fall eve? Nothing forced, nothing complicated, no pretense? Still. Lovely.

I really liked this place. We came here on a Wednesday night for a drink. Very intimate, swanky atmosphere. I liked the feel a lot. Good music playing, too. He had a bourbon concoction of some sort and I had the Cactus Juice. My drink was very strong. I was feeling it a little after the one drink so it was worth the $10 price tag. The only thing that was a little weird was we had to go up and order and get our drinks at the bar after waiting for a bit for someone to come over. We saw the bartenders helping other tables and serving them. Not sure why we didn't get our order taken, etc. Other than that, great experience. I'll be back when in the neighborhood.

This is one of my favorite hidden gems in Capitol Hill - it is rarely crowded, especially during the happy hour period ($2 sessions and other drink specials from 4-6), when this old soul likes to do her going out for an adult beverage. They staff is always helpful and friendly, and makes delicious drinks, and the atmosphere is very chill and well put together. Its in a great location to grab a drink before a show at the Paramount or before hitting up a restaurant for dinner. I like the darker decor and more romantic atmosphere, my husband and I have been here multiple times before grabbing dinner and always enjoy ourselves. Definitely a must stop spot!

I just adore this giant bar overlooking the city! You may find it a little difficult to find but once you do, you will find a great cocktail and great service. I recommend meeting a handful or more of people here as there is plenty of room. You will feel like you were dropped into another era, the restoration is perfect! Hint: Look for Melrose Market entrance and walk around the building for the entrance.

Great hardA speakeasy (missing a robust beer selection). Perfect for a post-date drink with its jazz music setting the tone. Recommend the ever so smooth Victoria - Mexican beer.

Interesting place. Great calm and soothing environment. Great drinks, and cocktails. Not a place to get wild or rage, but if you want a chill place to sit down and talk, do it!!!

This place is a hidden gem! It's easy to miss because half of the place is underground. I've always passed by it while trying to find parking in the Capitol Hill area and when I go to Machiavelli. I'm glad we stopped by here for our first stop after we were rejected at Sun Liquor Distillery (ugh, that's a different story.) The interior is super cool and the cocktail menu is pretty extensive. I had the "minor mule" and it was friggin delicious! It had just the right amount of alcohol and ginger ale in it. It was pretty empty when we went on a Friday night but I can imagine that this place gets packed later in the evenings. The bartender was really nice when we were there too. Overall, this seemed like a really chill place to hang out and have a low-key night out.

This place was dark, and had a definite creeper vibe (good or bad?). Or maybe it was the elder gentleman sitting at the end of the bar not so ninja like staring everyone down around him. The sign outside the joint is hard to see, and you'd probably never just stumble into this place. The lights in this place are cool, and the ambiance is unlike any other. Open floor plan, and this place is definitely not short on the liquor supply.

Loved this place! Chill, dark, lounge-y atmosphere, which makes it the perfect place to start the night. I like how it's kind of tucked on a side street and halfway underground. Good date spot to actually get some conversation in. As for the drinks, I tried the "Botany of Desire" and the Pimm's Cup, both delicious - in fact, *everything* on the cocktail menu looked good! Bartender also made us some delicious shots. Very impressed.

Popped in for a single drink with a friend before hitting a nearby party. I think the mere fact that I actually held to the "one drink" means I can't give this place 4 or 5 stars with any sincerity. Whatever I got (something with a red wine float, I believe) went down easy enough, but did not particularly impress. Honestly, this will sound petty, but I think the reason I judged this place to be a snooze in my (perhaps) 15 minutes there, was because they had a sign up that they would be airing the Oscars, which for me is the booorrring stuff of Middle America, and not what I expect from the heart of Capitol Hill. Call me a snob.

Came here for a drink on a Friday night. Good service, decent drink list that could be expanded a bit (still tasty, though), the prices are on point, and the space is big so you can just chill at a table with a drink and not be bothered. Would recommend.

This place still ROCKS. Apparently the amazing selection of booze was inspired by one of the most famous/top and influential bartenders in town. They carry Tito's, Yamazaki, Chopin, Scrappy's Bitters, ... I mean all of my favorite cocktail ingredients. Bartenders/Staff/Owner (aka Dan, Tyler and Breckeen) are super awesome/friendly. I asked for a cocktail that was "happy and ravishing", with a heavier accent on "ravishing". Dan did a great job executing on that very weird and eccentric drink order. I think this may be a future spot for an upcoming event I may have to host. Awesome awesome bar - for everyone who enjoys a good drink.

A few of us wandered in during a lazy afternoon on our way to trouble somewhere else. None of us had been here before so we were sort of curious. The place is fairly large and very open. There is a great deal of open space for standing around and mixing with others, as well as a lot of cement...with benches grouped along one wall and a few booths further from the bar. The bartender was on us quickly, but given that we had just walked into a very dark place from the outside, we were mole people. Couldn't read the drink menu to save our lives. After some squinting and attempts at some sort of phonetic exchange...we squirted out some drinks. I hated my drink and really missed some small plates to cleanse my palate. But my friends seemed to do alright by their drinks and we were so involved in conversation, I think everything else was secondary. I love the wood and the open spaces in this place, but it was a little too dark for me and I miss some nibbles.

Be still my heart for Liquor is in the bar name and unqiue cocktails is it's game. We met up with a few friends from New York here and found a nice corner spot with a table and seats. It has nice comfortable feel with dark lighting plus a swank ambiance. Nice speakers so the music flow around the room but no disc jockey...it was from an ipod. Still good music choices playing though. A group of ladies had a party right next to us with a raw oyster bar setup. It is a natural aphrodisiacs so maybe the liquor and the oysters was for the after party with the ladies lovefest. The ladies were leaving all their jackets right next to me while smiling to me. :) We ordered within our moods and tasted different mix cocktails with no names. My lovely exotic friend and her bf that works for MTV enjoyed their tasty Manhattan drink. We had a great time and enjoyed each other company with great conversations. This is a fantastic bar and a great meetup place without the crowds that still executes making wonderful drinks. Highly Recommended. Pro Tip: Happy Hour is 5 -7pm daily and All day Monday for $5 Absolut, $4 Wells, and $2 Session.

"Damn! The money they save on light bills!" This is a direct quote made by my friend as we approached. It's truly dark inside and I kinda like that. I'm still a little irritated that they have no food but I'm getting over it. I like the mixed crowd and seemingly indifferent servers, I'm not there to make this bartender love me, just pour a decent drink.

My ass is hot! Oh wait, you mean these benches we've been sweating over for the past hour are heated? I can see how heated seats would be nice in the winter, but it has been unseasonably warm lately, so it wasn't necessary the other night. I'm glad Joel the bartender mentioned it and offered to turn it down. I love the space here--it's very contemporary but the rich woodwork keeps it from feeling too modern and sterile. It is a bit hard to find and if you're driving it would be easy to miss the small sign over the door. It's on a narrow side-street off Pine, around the corner from the Baltic Room. Find a spot and hoof it. To start off I enjoyed the "Dragon's Toe," which was a refreshing mix of Maker's Mark and cucumber. It sounds a little unconventional, but it was crisp and refreshing. They have a number of unusual cocktails on their menu I've never heard of, but I wasn't feeling too adventurous so I also ordered a Manhattan (ok, so I had two of them). They were both excellent--although I thought the first one seemed a little light. Still is a great place for a group of people--there's a number of large tables and ample bench space along the walls. My only real complaint is the small beer selection--but the main reason to come here is for the expertly crafted cocktails. The service was stellar too--the bartender was serving the whole bar, but he brought our drinks out to our table and remembered my name every time I placed an order. I'm looking forward to coming back soon.

Like this place as a casual but interesting vibe to have a drink with friends. Very toned down which is refreshing compared to alot of new places which are just trying way to hard. Great location for drinks pre or post a Paramount show as its just on the east side of I-5, so a very short walk to the show. And you would very likely be able to avoid the crowds that jam into the places on the west side of the freeway. Had a quite tasty Pimms Cup that hit the spot!

This spot has some serious potential. With lots of the bars on the Hill bleeding into the same scenes, The Still seems to stand out on it's own. I loved the clean, modern decor and open spaces. The furniture was heavy, the floors are concrete, the walls are concrete, and the bar is FULL of booze! Although some drinks are upwards of $10 on their specials menu - various others are as cheap as $6-7. They also have a full bar so a good ol gin n tonic isn't gonna beak the bank. I tried a specialty cocktail that had Absolut, muddled cucumber and ginger. It was rather tasty! Totally worth the $7. The bartender was pleasant and fun to talk to and the other patrons were pretty cool too. I have a feeling this bar will take off in no time.

This was an awesome place to come for happy hour! I like that it still gets a lot of sun from the street-level windows, but has a very modern but cozy feel. Somehow, the concrete walls and velvet-cushioned wooden chairs work together. Also, they have a very kind, very heavy-handed bartender on hand. $4 wells and $3 session beers got us plenty liquored up in no time! Very casual and plenty of seating during happy hour on a Saturday evening, so it was a nice place to relax and chat with family and friends. I recommend the Minor Mule, it was light, fresh, and packed a punch.

A cocktail party, a date, a place to talk with a friend over drinks? I think Still Liquor could be great for any of those! There is lots of space and I definitely see potential for nice gatherings because of that. It felt a little bit hidden, so I wonder how the different nights vary. I went on a Monday night and it was pretty empty, but that is (hopefully) not always the case. The bartender served us up some waters and we each had a French 76. It was quite delicious and a wonderful drink to just sip on as we chatted. I loved that the lemon peel was tied into a knot! The only thing I found myself missing here was the existence of small plates with little things for us to munch on while we sipped. I was pretty hungry and was a little sad to see absolutely no food on the menu. In general, though, I very much enjoyed my first Still Liquor experience and would happily return for more.

This place is sort of off the beaten path, so it was a nice little discovery. It's a more relaxed type of bar, though I get a little thrown off by the vibe here. The DJ plays R&B and hip hop hits from the 90's, which doesn't really fit the mood here. It happened both times I've been here, so I'm not sure if this is a regular thing. But I like this place because it's a great place to have a nice chat with your friends and have a drink. One of their cocktails is really good, but for the life of me, I cannot remember the name (I know it starts with a "P!"). But it's good!

I concur that Still Liquor is a dark/swanky looking place from the outside (and it seemingly well hidden if you dont notice the sign), but all the times I've been, even when busy, its been chill and laid back. The drinks are are strongly poured and nicely priced. Havent had any of the signature house drinks yet, but this place is about two blocks from my residence, and theres plenty of time to check them out.

The Still is sexy and they know it. Open floor plan, sultry low- lighting and minimal decor. Nice overall downtempo vibe. Asked the bartender to make me something yummy with Gin and boy oh boy did he deliver. How did he know I also *heart* campari? Not cheap, but you get what you pay for, right? I'll be back.

Useless bartender. No other staff. Sat at table for 15 minutes with out even a glance in our direction. Dude had no idea what he was doing, so we left. Too many other nice spots near by to waste your time here. Nothing special on the menu or with the decor. Skip it. Disappointing since everything else in the building is so cool.

A for ambiance! First time here off a recommendation from Vanessa A and it did not disappoint. My friends were visiting from SF so we started our night at Still. Tucked down in the corner of a side street is this dark, clean, slick, welcoming, classy, chill, raw/neoteric-feeling bar with candles on tables and a great selection of alcohol. There were only three of us, but we sat at a larger table that was meant for at least 6+ and it was all gooood. Table/waiter service doesn't start until 8pm, but ordering at the bar is quick and easy as the bartender was on top of her game, churning out beers, shots, and mixed drinks all while chatting, joking, and keeping it live. I had two gin n' tonics, a shot of tequila, and a few beers (friends had shots and beers) and I know we didn't break the $100 mark. Prices are decent, especially for a place that looks like it's drink menu starts at $12. The location kinda bites, but as long as they keep doing things like they do now, it should be there for the long-haul. The gallery on the website is actually how it feels when you are inside...it just has this aura about it that I can't put into words, but what I can say is that if you haven't been here, check it out! NOW! GO NOW!

A generous little hole-in-the-wall spot. Wide open areas allow for more generous groups to trail in, while off to the side you can find more intimate seating. The liquor isn't the only thing that will make you feel the warmth, but the heated wooden benches give your butt n' back a nice toasty feel when its freezing outside. Owner/bartender is super amazing attentive. Not only does he serve some fine drinks, holds open doors, AND remembers exactly who got what for the night. Bravo! Drinks are good, water was always hand, I give this place my props! Yay for full bar too!!

Another cool little spot in the Melrose project - my new favourite project in Seattle. I like Still Liquor. It's a great, open space - v minimalist, yet inviting. It *might* need a bit of art on the walls, but in a weird way, I kind of like the bare concrete and wood. Beers were $3 and specialty cocktails run about $7 or so. I ordered the Minor Mule (get it? Minor? cuz it's ON Minor?) - which came with vodka (oh really), muddled cucumber, and ginger ale. i was a wee concerned about the cucumber part, but ya know what? It works. It worked so much I ordered 2 more. Yummm. And then I stumbled out of there. HUZZAH! I will come visit again...by bike or bus, methinks. Sucky part: parking blows. BTW.

Great service, great selection, great bar tending. If you want a really nice cocktail head in, and the atmosphere is dark with a large open area and seating around the outside and a good size bar. They carry an abundance of booze, so stop in on your way to or from dinner. You won't be disappointed.

Really love this place. A good place to go when you are meeting up with a larger group of friends. The atmosphere is perfect for a night out. I had the minor mule and the drink that had ginger vodka, grapefruit juice and prosecco. Both were yummy. The only down side is that their cocktails are kinda expensive ($8 - $10) a piece, but worth it and not out of the norm for craft cocktails.

Place is weird. No specific crowd has 'claimed' the bar yet, so you get this nice eclectic group of queers, hipsters, frattys and yuppies No one seems to fit, though no one seems to care either. Drink are strong and reasonably priced. Joel the bartender is more or less as good as it's gonna get. I'm feelin it!

Drinks are strong, creative, and fresh-tasting. Mine came with muddled cucumber and it was delicious! I love how the tables will seat 4-10---this is a place for groups. It was super mellow, I don't really even remember music. We had a nice waitress with prompt table service and water brought over during her first pass. I'll be back. A classy place for the Hill.

Liked this place a lot. When I first walked in, it was early and the place was bare. Not much for decoration, but that's appreciated when the bar fills with people. Weird bathrooms...not in a bad way though. I liked that they had booth seating available

Stopped here for a post-dinner drink because it was on my walk home and I had it bookmarked in Yelp (assumably from Cocktail Bar research I did last year but don't remember). Ambience: 4 stars The space is indeed minimalist in a Pacific NW kind of way - concrete floors, exposed beams, and bare lights in wire cages. We took seats at the almost empty bar, where the chairs looked comfortable but weren't because you kept sliding out of them unless you propped your foot on someone else chair. Cocktails: 2 stars The bar appeared to be well stocked, so I was surprised to see only 6-8 cocktails listed on the menu. More than the usual amount of whiskey/rye based cocktails, one of which I had and couldn't finish. It wasn't terrible but it tasted flat and lacked some balance. I may be judging more harshly than normal because it was a nightcap, so unless it was really tasty, I wasn't going to finish it "just because." Service: 4 stars Service was prompt, they provided water without asking, and quickly provided the check when we asked. Maybe this is one of those, "Fix me a drink that makes me feel like I'm floating in a sea of marshmallows made out of sage," kind of places, and I just didn't think to ask the staff behind the bar to wow me with their drink-emotion pairing prowess. More likely, judging by the people in there, it's a popular spot for colleagues and acquaintances - not too intimate, moderately priced, and has cool architecture to provide conversation fodder when you can't think of what to say next.

Went here after dinner and experienced Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. In the first 10 minutes, it was just starting to fill up. Service was pretty good. By the end of the night, they were slammed and had a hard time keeping up. Here is my scores: Cocktails: 4 Stars Food: N/A Service: 1 John

Dark / Concrete / Ramps - I'm hooked. As I'm still venturing around this new city, I love that I keep stumbling across places in areas I didn't even know existed. Some friends took me here last night and i loved it. It's basically like hanging out in that really intense apartment from the Joy Luck Club. The atmosphere is the key selling point and when you mix that with great service and the feeling that Amy Tan might be in corner, you will not be disappointed.

Came here for the first time tonight and really liked it. Drinks were strong, and reasonably priced! It was busy, but not overly crowded. Only downside was that they didn't server any food when we were there at 10pm. Boooo!

Really liked this place. * Lots of whiskeys, including a few of my favorite kind: Islay scotch. * I sat at the bar with a book and didn't feel uncomfortable (it was light enough and not too busy) and when my friends arrived found the booth to be comfortable enough despite all of the hard surfaces (the place is all wood/stone/iron). * Not too loud when less than half full so you can have a conversation but that may change on busy nights. * Parking was easy on the off night I was there but it's walkable from downtown if you have difficulty. * You can dress up but it's still Seattle, nobody is going to care if you are casual.

We were very excited for a dark and sultry hipster bar to open stumbling distance from our apt. And indeed, upon entry, it seemed likely to live up to all necessary hipster criteria: gorgeous wood booths and rough-finished floors, an expansive bar, good seating, with a bit of an underground speakeasy vibe. We'd heard how packed it was on the weekends, sure to be hard to get into any day of the week. And yet, when we walked in on a Thursday, no one was there, except for a few guys at the bar that appeared to be friends of the bartender. No matter, we thought. More room for us! And yet no one else ever came in...and the bartender seemed vexed every time we interrupted his animated banter with his buddies to ask him for a drink. Lest you think this was a one-time occurrence, this has happened 4 out of the 5 times I've been there. If it weren't so damn convenient to our place -- nor as beautiful a decor -- I would have panned it long ago. So this review is really a request to the owners and / or the bartender: you spent a lot of money to open a hipster bar in First Hill / Cap Hill. Why not try to fill it with hipsters? And then pay some attention to them, so they don't fade away to the next hipster hangout of the month.

Dark, good music, great bartender, NO tvs. Real drinks, mixed properly. In short, a perfect place for cocktails -light on beer selections 'tho. I went on a Wednesday night and really enjoyed it. It may fill up with hipsters on weekends (this idea floated through no experience of my own, just an assumption based on location), but I liked the slow Wednesday night crowd. -all 9 of them

I'm interested in any place that has a Scrappy's celery bitters drink listed on their cocktail menu. And now, having tried the 'Bitter Swede' (bitter, indeed, but good!), I'm looking at digging this place. It's huge - there's a lot of open space. With the cement floor and walls, I was honestly a little put off at first - but I arrived in the day time, with daylight shining in the big windows - it looked harsh. After nightfall, however, after the bartender came around and lit all the candles, it became much warmer. It reminds me of a mineshaft somehow - wood, concrete, beams - in an interestingly good way though; some kind of hidey hole with good cocktails. Very unpretentious. Men who feel awkward in a place like Vessel would feel fine here, though there is a sufficient amount of subtlety for women and snobsters to like it too. Very tame on a weekday night - 6 people here aside from me, at 9:30 on a Tuesday. The bartender tells me this is more or less normal, but it gets pretty crazy on weekends, standing room only.

Good cocktails (small and strong) made by a very friendly bartender. Conversations were overheard along the bar amongst strangers or acquaintances. The wooden booths are big, great for groups (3-6 people). Nothing remarkable, just a nice vibe for a relaxing evening out. Currently, there is a lack of sign for the bar, but it has big glass windows, so you can find it easily. Happy hour is 5-7pm, with discounts on beer and wine. Food is still in development as far as I could tell.

I have been here a few times and I must say, this place is fantastic! I went here for New Years and we had the best time. They papered out the windows, had a free photo booth, champagne toast - they were even very very prompt on drink orders...never waited more than 3 or so minutes; excellent service! The thing that the girls really liked was that their long booth in front of the bar is heated...yes, the seats are heated! What a great idea.. I will definitely be back to Still Liquor...awesome environment, excellent service and very good drinks!

I agree with the other reviewers, lets not tell everyone about this stylish respite . I went in with some friends and actually made friends with other people that we did not know. In Seattle! I know right. Its a place you can go and have a good drink and enjoy your surroundings.

Not a fan. I went here for a birthday party for a friend, just like everywhere else on Cap Hill the parking is tricky so we car pooled. The servers are unfriendly, the wine I had was from a bottle that had probably been opened for weeks... at least that's how it tasted, expensive ($12) for a mediocre wine.... the music was not good at first but as the evening progressed it did get better. The decor is cool, I liked the couter tops. This was a one time event for me.

Really cool space. The drink menu looks great, have had a little variation with the drinks that were made on the 2 occasions I've been. First time they were too strong without any of the essence described and the 2nd time they were done well. It'd be great if they did a late night happy hour. I do like the new Melrose space and this bar is a nice addition to the neighb. Gets quite crowded on weekend nights.

This place is what it is. They have $2 Session during happy hour and some other good drink specials. If you go there before sunset (or have a not so great date you don't want to look at too closely) it's cool. After the sun goes bye bye, you might want to bring a table lamp, giant candle, etc... I managed to get parking right in front of the building, but I was there on a Sunday evening. Not sure about how it is most nights. Oh yeah, they don't serve food which doesn't really bother me (but others have complained about it so I'm including it as fair warning). If you're that hungry you can bring outside food in, so there ya go. Oh, and they are quick to clean up a party foul (i.e. broken glass). But bear in mind that this isn't a bro bar (from what I gathered). You don't go here to "see and be seen", at least from what I gather. The bartenders are nice enough and it's a good place to hang out with friends.

Great spot, great feel, exactly what urban sheik is supposed to be. Really simple drink menu, though I wish they had some craft micro-distilled choices because the place's name makes me feel like that'd be appropriate. The big giant tables in the back are fantastic and the service is better than you'd expect.

I tend to only make out for happy hour and Still has a good deal. The vibe is relaxed and the fact that you can carry on a conversation without yelling is a major plus. I enjoy "real" cocktails and this place has them in spades. While I don't do anything special the fact that they pour high quality and in a nice glass is what makes me happy. Now if they only allowed you to bring your dog in... I would have given 5-stars for that.

Checked this new spot out the other day on a date. It was... awesome! The atmosphere is very spare & unassuming with concrete walls, simple wood, exposed pipes, very cool. The bartender was friendly & attentive serving up some tasty & inventive cocktails, like a moscow mule with cucumber. We arrived around 8:30 on a weeknight & it was relatively empty, by the time we left around eleven some hipster crowd (not too young, mostly dudes) was filtering in. And, some lovely old soul classics were playing. Check out Still if you're looking for a comfortable new hangout! THANKS :) (despite what others have reviewed about the atmosphere, I actually like to escape the busyness of most Cap Hill bars to a sweet, chill place like Still, it's refreshing!!)

Not a fan. I've been here on multiple occasions. They set themselves up as being expert craftsmen in the field of mixology but they often fall short with even the basics. The last time I was there, I asked for a particular spirit. They told me they didn't have it. I disagreed and had to walk over and point to it on their shelves. This happened more than once in the same night. If you don't even know what you have available to serve, you're completely inept and should probably choose another career. To top it all off, after I unintentionally humiliated the bartender, he chose to spend the rest of the night spewing any subtle verbal insult he could towards me. Completely unprofessional.

Well another bad ass bar, in my neck of the woods. Not only does it have a modern feel and look (without being cluttered), but they have awesome happy hours. I do like this bar because they have a great selection of booze and beer. The bartenders and staff are extremely polite, and relatively quick to get you another round (and the long pours). This place is usually swamped on the weekends but during the week it's my favorite place to go if I have the time or extra few bucks. This place has the best happy hour in town. I recommend it to anyone hanging out in lower capital hill.

Love this place, the bartenders are great. Joel has been bartending FOREVER, Cara's the best and really funny! Every time I've been in there I've had a good time. People are nice and so are the bartenders and owners. I've asked Joel to make me random ass drinks based on my mood and the flavor I was feeling at the moment and I'm telling you he can deliver. We told him we wanted a mexican tasting drink minus the tequila and he did it, and it was quite delish! He also makes a wonderfully smooth cucumber something martini that I guzzled down and can't stop thinking about.

I'm a little hesitant about writing this review because I just found my new hide-a-way, and if I tell everyone about my new love, it will no longer be able to hide...a...way... I stumbled across this place last night for a friend's cousin's going away party - a little hard to find as it's on a skinny little street like they all are on Capitol Hill, but as you're walking down the street this swanky little place pops up with it's dark candlelight and once you open the doors there is a warmth both in the space and the crowd that just surrounds and consumes you. This place is so chill and in a good way - it's not subued, it's lounge-y without being pretentious or stuffy. Just as everyone has stated, it has a great open floor plan, and the makings of the place - natural wood and cement beams - is so appealing to me in an exciting but with an ooohhhh-inspiring kind of awe. The bartender / waitstaff was great and even got the pleasure of meeting owners Josh & Breckeen (that's right - B-R-E-C-K-E-E-N, Breckeen - I'm a spelling bee CHAMP!) that were both very down to earth and accommodating - at one part I was in dire need of water and Breckeen hopped the bar and immediately poured me a glass (what can I say, after a long day of impromptu pub crawling - a girl gets parched!) What's even better is the crowd adds to the atmosphere - warm, open, and full of stimulating conversation. It made my natural social butterfly tendencies want to flourish, and I talked to different groups in all parts of the bar, just introducing myself talking about random things of the ways of the world without ever hearing a frat guy pick-up line or someone looking at me weird for wanting to meet them just to meet them (I only knew one person in the entire bar so the butterfly was in full flight last night). All in all, a great spot - and anyone that knows me, knows I refuse to make the jaunt cross-town from Queen Anne to Cap Hill because cross town is just so darn difficult, but for this place - I would gladly pay a $10 cab ride to cozy on in for the night. Good work, Still Liquor...you had me at hhhheeellllooo.

Went here on a cold Friday night, was welcomed into a warm and low lit space that was comfortably crowded (still a few tables available, but a comfortable din of conversation around). Given that the space is brand new it smelled fairly strongly of wood varnish, but one drink in you hardly notice. Plus the wooden details (the booths, the exposed beam ceiling, the solid wood bar) really make this place aesthetically pleasing. Fairly small drink menu as far as cocktail/beer/wine options, I'm hoping that they expand this with time (especially the beer options). My first drink was pretty good, I had The Last Word (I think Murray of Zig Zag fame made this one famous), but it was not perfect. Given that their prices are in line with those of Tavern Law, I'm getting kind of spoiled and expect this same level of perfection... Second cocktail was the special, a ginger gimlet. Not so great, very sweet and slightly medicinal, not very well balanced. Perhaps the reason the drinks do not taste so balanced is that they are STRONG. So I guess that increases the overall value of the cocktail if you are looking for more bang for your buck! The staff were completely friendly, but seemed a bit harried. I think this is just because the place is new and that they are still getting into the swing of things. Will definitely be back, happy to have this place in the neighborhood!

This is by far the best bar in all of Seattle...nay, the entire world. The female bartender is always quick to offer a suggestion for a new drink or a twist on an old favorite. Similar to other reviews regarding the ambiance; its dark and ominous feeling lends itself to a quiet hideaway amidst the bright lights of capitol hill. The service leaves nothing to be desired with bartenders and cocktail servers remembering specific orders no matter how complicated and reproducing the same delicious concoctions time after time. The menu is ever changing each new item more creative and thoughtful than the last. Still Liquor is definitely a magical and lovely place and I will keep coming back!

the Still was just way cool. we were there for an Art 21 party ( incidently PBS what is up with the no-host bar , no free anything, no catered snackies??) my drink "the Mule something" was incredibly crafted. Bartender was miffed when I called the drink by the wrong name.. and I can't even remember it now! Anyway, it is a great place to hang out.. but some bar food would be even better

Still is a nice bar that's not divey with good drinks. Although it's in Capitol Hill (on the fringe of it, and is on the other side of the I-5 expressway from Downtown), it attracts a yuppie crowd.

The best selling point of this bar is the space. Come by on a Friday night and not only will it not feel crowded but you will probably be able to get a table. I like coming here for happy hour because the $2 Sessions satisfy the frugal-minded and I can consume something a little fancier.

I like this spot overall, very nice ambiance, the drinks are good and the clientele is generally nice. The only thing that prevents this from being a really great bar is the music. The music they play is really bad and really dated; in general it ruins the mood. They should consider hiring a DJ, because the last two times I was there I thought the music really wrecked the mood and it made an otherwise classy place seem very second rate.

Overall I love the concept of Still. It has an amazing bar selection, excellent cocktail list, and cool vibe. However, every time I have gone I'm disappointed by the atmosphere inside. The space is large and industrial with concrete floors and pillars but I think the large area is working in its disadvantage. The bar never feels lively or full. It seems to be a good place to go with someone to enjoy a good cocktail without distraction, but overall could be a lot more lively.

Went opening night to check out the place. There is no sign out front (yet?). Mediocre beer offerings devoid of interesting micro-brew selection. Has a somewhat creative-sounding cocktail menu, which disappoints. Despite the fancy descriptions, the drinks didn't taste very interesting. That aside, although the drinks were strong enough, everyone in my group were given drinks with short pours. At minimum, if you're going to charge $10 for a bland cocktail, the least you can do is serve a full glass. Worst of all, bartenders are rude and insulting. One male bartender in particular seemed to have forgotten that his only purpose for standing there behind the bar is to serve drinks, not yell at customers who *GASP* try to order drinks.

I was really excited by the look and feel of this place and already having a good time when we showed up on a friday night to chill with some friends. I ordered a drink off of their menu--The Still, and this is pretty much where my enjoyment of the bar ended. The drink wasn't good. I couldn't tell if the juice was bad or the ratio of tequila to other ingredients was just off, but whatever the problem, I couldn't drink it. When our server came to ask how we were doing, I told her so and she immediately offered to get me something else--which I appreciated. I needed a minute to think about what I wanted, and I told her I would let her know. She took the offending beverage away, and moments later the bartender came over to our table to find out why I didn't like his drink. It seemed like he was taking the whole thing a little too personally, but it's his job and I can kind of understand that. However, there was no need for his attitude--"Obviously you either don't like tequila, or don't like grapefruit. Which IS it?" When my server checked on me again, I just told her I wasn't going to order another drink. (she apologized and said she'd pass it on to the manager--she was awesome/helpful/sweet) Bottom line, I won't be back. There are plenty of other bars to kick back at and enjoy an evening where the bartenders don't cop an attitude with me, so I'll happily give them my money. Two stars for the server and the cool atmosphere.

This place is hidden on a capital hill side street. I was originally very confused and kept thinking I was going to sun liquor nearby. It was fairly crowded, but cleared out and I was able to get a table. Drink service was great. My waitress Jill did an exceptional job, coming by often to make sure we had everything we needed. She also brought us a fantastic bourbon shot but unfortunately I can't recall what it was. Drink menu looked impressive, with a wide selection of bottled beer. I could go with more tap beer options myself. Also the bathroom situation is a little painful, I never understand bars that dont have multiple stalls. You do get to make friends in the bathroom line though, but I am frequent urinator and would like to not nearly pee my pants once an hour. I hope to go back soon, maybe next time I will see if I can reserve a table.

Still is definitely a place that brings a cool decor, serious drinks, and spacious room to Capitol Hill. Housed in a former car painting shop, it's a little difficult to find (basically behind Baltic Room) but worth seeking. The decor is decidedly modern (concrete) but also with a lot of wood beams and furniture - all lit dimly with candlelight, which warms up the room. Joel, the bartender, used to be at Grey's Gallery, so the cocktails are top notch. Tried the Dragon's Toe, which was surprisingly good - bourbon, cucumber, and ginger. I didn't think the combo would be good, but the cucumber isn't overwhelming at all. It is a refreshing, lighter bourbon cocktail that you could drink in the summer. The dark and story was also good - dark rum, bitters, and ginger beer. There are also two beers on draft as well as another 10-15 in bottles and a few wines. There are some tables and booths as well as about 10 seats at the bar. Not sure how it is if crowded or on the weekends, but it is definitely a great place to hangout for weeknight drinks.

Went here after work yesterday for a drink before meeting my wife at Machiavelli's for dinner... For a long, long time...I've been struggling to find a bar where there is no TV, comfortable seating, not too cramped/crowded, and you can be able to hear your conversations between you and your friend(s). This place does it all. As I was walking up to Machiavelli's, I also went to Baguette Box just to make sure it was open as well since it would be our backup if Machiavelli's was packed. When I saw that Baguette Box was open, I saw a sidewalk sign that said, "Still Liquor". I didn't know that this place was ever there. I walked in and fell in love with the decor and ambience instantly. The place was nicely lit with seating mostly against the walls (benched seating on one side and tables on the other side). The floor plan looked very open and spacious, easy to walk around. I ordered a Newcastle and relaxed for about 20 minutes until my wife arrived for dinner. Brady (bartender) was very nice and friendly. I told him that it was cool to go to a bar without a TV for once and that the place kinda reminded me of a cool-looking basement. They have a nice selection of spirits and their signature cocktails looked very appealing. Overall, this is how I imagine a bar should look and feel like.

This place has tip top style, service, and drinks. One of my favorite spots on the hill by far. Went on a Thursday night and the bartender mixed a specialty cocktail to fit my taste and he got it so right. His choice of music was also incredible. Low key, but very sexy place.

Slightly more expensive than other places, but they've got a great selection of alcohol and the atmosphere is AWESOME--vintage style lighting and comfortable booths. They'd be really popular if they were on the main street, but their location keeps them a great secret.

It's in a great location and has tons of space. I was there around 7 so I haven't seen it later on, but I'm definitely going back. The cocktail I had included Maker's, ginger and muddled cucumber. The Maker's pretty much overpowered everything, but that's not a bad thing.

Dig this place, the staff were really cool and it had a good vibe. Came here with a couple friends and were able to sit at the bar and have a good time. Crowd seemed pretty chill.

yes, I'm a fan of still. the bartender Joel is amazing and the owners are good guys as well. they're just starting out so if you aren't a huge fan the first time around give it another shot. the space is great and has a lot of potential...so hopefully they'll put some nice artwork up to cover up the large bare walls. i know they may be going for the whole minimalist look but let's be honest, Seattle is experiencing a minimalist overload. looking forward to watch this place blossom over time!

The good: They have ginger beer! Everything else: So, if you like cocktails, it's important to NOT have your hopes up. Both times I went I had to send back a drink. And so did my friends. The first time I went I ordered a Moscow Mule (of course, since they had ginger beer), and I got some bizarre cucumber drink . "there's something wrong with my moscow mule" I said to the server. She took it back and let me know that they made me their variation by accident. When they brought me the real deal, it was just like a vodka tonic, but with a faint ginger flavor. Boo! About 6 weeks later I returned to a packed belltown-y crowd and a frantic bartender. I ordered a Moscow Mule and this time when he served it, it was completely lime-less. I had to remind him that lime juice is a key ingredient to the classic drink. He put a lime in my glass. Note: lime JUICE is what the drink calls for. This is most commonly achieved by muddling limes or squeezing them into the glass. Either way, I should not have to fish out my own lime from my drink in order to squeeze out the inadequate amount of juice that constitutes a single slice. SO I went to the other end of the bar, where a different bartender re-made the drink. Better, but not great. Also, the glasses are small, so the amount they charge is somewhat high for what you get (or don't get). For you whiskey fans, my girlfriend ordered a Maker's Manhattan, not in a martini glass, and received a shot-size drink in a short tumbler glass (one that would not fill up even the smallest martini glass). Verdict: No thanks. Has potential to be better, but only if they get some more experienced bar tenders and charge fair prices for what they serve.

While fleeing the noise and B.O. emitting from Baltic Room we walked around the corner and floated into an oasis of space, calm and nice cocktails. The bartender gave us a friendly welcome and we stayed for the rest of the night. I love how this part of Minor Ave looks like a secluded alley and all you see is small white sign above the door that is so easily overlooked.

Our friends put on an engagement party for about 50 of mine and my Fiances friends and family Saturday night at Still Liquor and it could not have worked out better. The bar is really cool with a good location, nice open floor plan and great atmosphere. When we arrived at 8pm on a Saturday they had an area of tables nicely set aside for our group. The bartenders were nice and friendly and they took great care of our group EVEN with seperate checks or cash and they handled it perfectly. The cocktails were good, and they had a good selection of beer on tap. I would recomend this bar to anyone and will be coming back just to grab a few drinks next time I am in the area. Thanks Still Liquor for a great event!!!!!

The annoying and YOUNG Belltown scene sneaked out of their dorms and found their way up to Capitol Hill to accost this amazing space. Totally great potential, lousy Saturday evening experience, maybe week days will be better. Way too crowded, way too loud, way too hipster. Go to Sun Liquor instead if you want a quiet hang out with MUCH BETTER DRINKS.

This little hidden gem is blossoming into a great place to go if you're tired of the DB scene in Belltown and not up for the craziness of the Pike Pine corridor. They have amazing drinks and they're reasonably priced. I look forward to making Still into one of my regular spots on the Hill!

Yesterday my apartment building caught fire and I ran outside in my pj.s no bra or underwear hair crazy with my screaming cat in her carrier with no place to go, I live around the corner from this place and since I had an animal I couldn't go to a cafe' or restaurant so in my scrubby pj.s and busted hair I walked my screaming cat and my hot mess into Still. Of course I must have looked like a crazy cat lady and at first some customers saw me and was like wtf? I told them I had just evacuated my building with nothing but me and my cat and we have no where to go (forgot my cell in the house of course) WOW talk about nice!! The bartender was so nice I know I looked really shook up and I was. He let me sit down and took my credit card and served me all night, he wouldn't even let me get my own water or get up. Me and my cat (who calmed down and got into people watching) sat in this low light mellow bar and relaxed jamin to classic rock! I sat for two hours until I could finally go home. My bill was $30 and I tipped $20 because he was so nice and really took care of me and Marilyn Monroe (my cat...yea she's a movie star!) and let us feel welcomed and chilled. I will TOTALLY go back to this place, the place was comfortable low light and very relaxing even going by yourself is nice because I was totally happy just sitting there trying not to believe my house was burning down. End of the story my and my cat and my place are okay we have a new watering hole.... however I don't think I will take her next time!

Still is great! The entrance is hidden on a side street with not a lot of foot traffic (Just East of the Pillars Dog Park). Once you find it, you'll be glad you did. They have good background music, and plenty of space in their industrial decorated, open floor plan for you and all of your friends. Check it out, you'll be glad you did.

Still Liquor is a super rad environment! The design and décor was very hip and relaxing, loved the dim lights and the overall ambiance of the place. Great music and drinks kept all 15 of us happy enough to close the bar down... I liked the eclectic group of frat guys, hipster's, the gay demographic and your posh Seattleites. I'm excited to try the spot out again this time on a weeknight.

We met some friends here the other night and I was hesitant at first but quickly felt welcomed at Still. We are very comfortable in the Georgetown or Ballard but sometimes Capital Hill can be a bit exhausting for us. The bartender was very kind and patient. John and I ordered Rainier in a bottle after thinking and talking about what to order for 5 minutes. The obiance is dark and garage like feel however when you sit down you realize the seats are warmed. I very much liked that. The staff was very attentive and even brought us a little dish of nuts for us to munch on.

Really I don't love this place because it's just 2 blocks from my house. The owners are great guys and so are the bartenders. I love the look and the fact that the bridge and tunnel crowd haven't found it yet.

Still is the Official Club House of The Seattle Tattoo Emporium as of May 24th. This is the favored haunt of the rogues of the Tattoo Emporium, Seattle's oldest and finest tattoo shop. The crew at Still are quick and deft with the bottle, sly of wit, and generous in their hospitality. Welcome to the neighborhood! Thank you for accepting our Club House plaque.
