A landmark that is worth visiting. The food was good but the menu selection was very expensive. The redeeming fact is that the meal includes admission to the observatory deck which cost $20 by itself making the meal cost reasonable. I enjoyed the interactive exhibits on the observatory deck. It was a beautiful night which made walking around the outdoor deck area a great experience.

I had such a wonderful night at this restaurant! The service is one of the best, even better than some Michelin three star restaurant, no kidding! We didn't make reservation in advance, so we got seated at the piano lounge, which was actually eat on the piano. I have to admit that the pianist that night was a highlight of the whole night. He knows a lot of songs so we can actually ask for songs. The view was so beautiful even though we didn't seat at the rotating deck. Food was good too as you can see from the pictures. I think I have to advertise the pianist a bit cause we enjoyed the music so much. His name is Jason Lux and he has a YouTube channel.

We were on our way to buy tickets to ride up on the space needle when I saw how long the line was. Then I saw the self service ticket line where you can just buy your ticket at a machine. This line was significantly shorter than the full service line. This absolutely blew my mind. Who would want to wait and extra 30 plus minutes so that someone else can scan your credit card for you. As if the act of swiping your card is so strenuous that you'd rather stand in line in the hot sun. Watching this was like watching some sort of national geographic special on tourists. Either way, I digress, while waiting in the self service line I saw a sign that said buy your tickets on the space needle app. AWESOME! I got out of line and downloaded the app. I saw the next available tickets were for 12 and it was only 11 so we figured we'd eat lunch in the SkyCafe. My wife went to get us some seats and I was about to buy the tickets when my wife tells me that if we eat lunch at the SkyCafe we get the observation deck for free. We just had to order a minimum of $25 per adult and $11 per child. That's not much more than the tickets to ride to the top plus you get lunch. SCORE!! I cancel my order on the app and we head up the elevator. We sat and ate lunch with a view of Seattle and Mt. Rainier and it was top notch. The restaurant spins so you get to see the view from every angle. The food, while decent, was only slightly above average. The price of course was very expensive but I still think it's a better value than just buying tickets to the observation deck. Make sure you book reservations in advance though because we only got on because they happened to have an available table for us. I give the SkyCafe 3 Doubledays.

Service was awesome a slender gentleman with glasses handled our table. I had the brunch and i was very pleased with the salmon chorizo egg plate. Biscuit n gravy was delicious. Desserts were great as well. If i were to have a meeting it would be up there . Ofcourse the view was amazing as well.

The best coffee you can get 500 feet in the air. Super smooth. In fact, the smoothest espresso one can get in Seattle. Get a single shot as double of this monster will keep you awake for hours. Nice people too!

I came here for brunch and I can say I was quite impressed. At first, I expected this restaurant to be nothing more than a tourist attraction where the experience was to be determined by the environment and view while the food being mediocre. However, by the end of my meal, I was proven wrong. The service was definitely great, with my kind waiter often pointing out historical landmarks and views when they appeared. But not only was the service and environment superb, the food was also. I ordered the "Hazelnut-Crusted Chicken Sandwich" with a "House Made Granola" as my appetizer. The Granola was nothing special, but the combination between the yogurt and fruits was quite delicious. Next, the Chicken Sandwich was definitely the highlight of my meal. The Sandwich consisted of chicken, bacon, artichoke, and cheese. I have to say everything in the sandwich was very well done and it left me wanting more. To top it off, it was served with delicious breakfast potatoes on the side (fries was an option). Overall, I would highly recommend this spot for anybody visiting Seattle for vacation or even if you live in the local area. A must-try in my opinion.

An enjoyable rotating view of Seattle from up high. My preference is to make a reservation near sunset, as there's a 2 hour limit on table stays. I would also recommend parties no larger than 4, as this is the size the tables were designed for. The food is a bit pricey, but no more than a bunch of other places around the city--except none has the view!!! In fact, the view is pretty much *THE* reason to come here--not the food. Well, the view, and the atmosphere? Sunday night, a piano player was doing renditions of popular tunes by Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Rhianna. Probably the best part of the meal was not part of the meal we ordered, but the complimentary bread provided as you sit. Specifically, the olive bread--don't even waste your time on the potato bread: It's so mild, it borders on tasteless. Service was accommodating and appropriately paced. We shared a few dishes. The steamed mixed greens were adequately roasted--if a bit on the dry side. The risotto was good. The pork was mediocre. The 53rd anniversary 3-course special offered appetizer, entrée and desserts that aren't available on the regular menu. For dessert, the bread pudding caught my attention, so I ordered it, along with a cup of coffee. However, dessert became another disappointment: the bread pudding lacked texture and flavor definition. And the coffee... Seattle doesn't lack for great roasteries--even Starbuck's revival blends available in its Reserve line. But the only coffee available was plain old Starbucks Verona?!?! Pretty lame, to be honest. Did I mention that, should you come here for a date, you should eat ahead of time? Once here, enjoy the olive bread, have a couple of drinks, and enjoy the view as the sun sets :)

Read the reviews about The spectacular views. The food was actually very good. I said it was a four star restaurant in the miss of "Tourist City." I ordered the Bering Sea king crab with roasted sweet corn potatoes & basil butter! The crab must've just come from the sea. And they actually roasted corn on the cob & cut off the kernels, it was delicious and really done well! All four $89. Service was friendly and professional. What makes it somewhat remarkable is that they give you a great dining experience and basically while everyone's going nuts looking out the window with kids the whole scene. If you come to Seattle and you want to get the lay of the land, make reservations, come to Sky City and then walk around the observatory.

This is a great restaurant with an awesome view. We were there for a reception and the food was wonderful. We had to wait a while to get up to the top though. I highly recommend the reception hall for a party.

Here is what I will say... Logistically, this place runs way better than I expected for a tourist "trap". The view is truly what you are paying for, and although the food is far more expensive than at one of Tom Douglas' restaurants, it was worth it from an ambiance perspective. The food was definitely not bad, but I am a tad jaded after having two or three great meals elsewhere in Seattle. I will leave it at this... it is a once in a lifetime experience. I say once in a lifetime, because after you eat here, you likely won't return, unless you are bringing someone else so they can experience it.

It's the best viewing experience from Seattle. The entire floor plan slowly revolves 360 degrees, offering each table the opportunity at the entire panoramic sight. However, the SkyCafe gets knocked for simply being that: a high priced viewing experience, but it's complemented greatly by the food, ambiance, and staff. The food is definitely way above average and is presented with class. The staff is incredibly attentive and accommodating. My water never dropped below half empty; those guys were hawks with the water refills. If you go for dinner, most of the guests are wearing button downs, collared shirts, dresses, etc. It's a classy experience with a view. Definitely worth the money, which is going to be a lot, regardless of how you play it.

Holy french toast mania moly! Hubby and I came here for Valentines Day brunch. I had to get over my fear of heights as fast as that ride up in the elevator, and I'm just going to skip everything and get straight to the food! You totally get your money's worth here! For roughly $48 and some change you can get a non alcoholic beverage, 1st course, entree and dessert. This also includes your ride up to the tower and you can pretty much hang out there as long as you want. At first I thought this was spendy but wow I was in for a surprise. My husband and I were very pleased with our first course. I ordered the clam and corn chowder and my husband the biscuits and gravy. Both were delicious and we kept trading plates. But I'd say if you have to choose between the two, get the clam and corn chowder as a starter. We both agreed that was more tasty. It was creamy, tasted fresh, and the temperature was superb. It was packed with subtle flavors and not too overwhelming. I am not a fan of clams but wow this was delicious goodness in a bowl. It was so delicious I was surprised I got a picture of it before finishing the bowl. For the main course, the French toast. What can I say? I have a weakness for Nutella and that word popped right out of the menu. When this plate arrived I old only say WOW. It was huge! It might as well have been half a loaf of french bread. This meal can definitely feed two adults. It came with breakfast potatoes, a slice of bacon, and a sauaage. But wow back to that french toast. It was hazelnut crusted and complemented by a mousse-like Nutella spread. It looked like meat paste, but it was light and fluffy with that delectable taste of Nutella. It was so delicious I forgot about the view outside the windows of this revolving restaurant. I didn't even make it to dessert but I took it to go. I highly commend making a reservation and getting the package. But also make sure to show up, because if you don't, you'll still get the bill ;-) Service was phenomenal. My glass was never empty and my coffee mug always full. The waiters and waitresses are very knowledgeable of the menu and can even recommend great plates to get your money's worth. If you order that french toast I hope you can finish it because I couldnt but I look forward to my left overs ;-) Enjoy the views and try not to focus on the restaurant revolving. It's a wonderful experience and I would do it again!

Great experience!! I thought it was so unique to dine at a spinning restaurant! I thought the food was so great here and the view of the entire city while eating was so cool! The food wasn't crazy expensive like I thought it would be and I enjoyed all the dishes I ordered. I did start to get a little dizzy and sick as the restaurant spinning wasn't as slow as I thought it was. Guess I was expecting it to be crazy slow like the earth spinning and wouldn't notice it :p. Durrr. Dining at the restaurant gave us free access to the observation deck. I guess being from Chicago, I wasn't really impressed. It's a beautiful view still. If you're visiting for the first time, I would definitely try this unique experience. Not everyday you get to eat good food at a restaurant that spins round and round showing the entire city.

This of course is a very touristy place, so my hopes weren't that high when it came to eating here. We had made reservations for their brunch ahead of time, and I must say, I was very pleasantly surprised. The brunch menu had a good variety to choose from (Biscuits and Gravy were delicious), and all of us enjoyed out meals. This is definitely a cool place to have a meal, and we happened to be here on a beautiful Seattle day. Perfect sunshine, you could see Mt Rainier, a sailing regatta going on in the bay, it was a perfect day. A couple tables would write a note and leave it on the window for others to respond to as the restaurant rotated, and our daughter got a big kick out of that, and being able to write a note back. You also get access to the observation decks after the meal, which being a beautiful day in Seattle made for some great views. This is definitely a must do in Seattle if you are visiting.

On August 2, 2015 my husband and I had a wonderful brunch. The Blue Angles were flying by and the food was amazing. Service was great and drinks were perfect. We will be returning.

We were able to get a table last minute by the window due to a cancellation. The view was outstanding, you're able to see the entire city! Came here for after dinner drinks and dessert. I had an espresso martini, loved it! We also had the ice cream sundae with the fun presentation over dry ice was delicious and rich! The service was great as well, there was a very good piano player there.

We were shocked by the high prices. But when we saw what was included it was kinda reasonable. We were with 2 people. That is 40$ for the observarion. The total bill was 175$. We got the Salmon and the Tuna. With 2 appetizers. The strawberry salad and the flat bread. It was almost high cuisine. We weren't full but we were satisfied. This is fun to do once in a long time if you are not that high on money. But it was certainly worth the memory! The view was absolutely stunning, we came at sunset and we had the most beautiful view ever. It takes about 43 minutes to make a full spin.

Loved the view. We got the VIP passes, as with the regular ones, you would be in the line for an hour or so to go up.

Usually I don't give 5-star reviews for touristy spots like this, but the service and ambiance was pretty amazing. Don't get me wrong - the food was great too, but my server really boosted my experience here. Couple things you need to know: 1) Brunch is a 3-course meal, around $50/person 2) Once you make a reservation here, you don't need to pay $40 to go up to the deck. You can just walk up the stairs. 3) The SkyCafe does spin and it's pretty noticeable 4) You must try the french toast! The food was great, perfectly cooked, seasoned, and well-balanced. To my surprise, I enjoyed the french toast the most! Very uniquely made and plated, spongey but not too fluffy, and perfect balance of sweetness. I LOVED the crushed hazelnuts that were sprinkled on top - it really gave it that nutty flavor and crunchy texture. I had the dungeoness crab benedict and for dessert, I devoured my freshly made cobbler with ice cream (although I wish it was ice cream with cobbler). Highly recommend for special occasions! And if you're planning to spend $$ to get to the top deck, might as well eat for it.

This is my 2nd time here. The view is the reason why i love this place a lot. Its so breathtaking. Food was good. Service was great. I will definitely visit again once i come back to seattle again We went here for a brunch. 3 course meal. First course came but my friend used the bathroom. The server notices that the food was sitting there for a while so he got him a new & hot plate. Service was amazing

My main course and dessert were exquisite. The stuffed agnolotti pillows with broccoli were flavorful and beautifully composed. The pumpkin pecan bread pudding made me swoon in paroxysms of ecstasy - Sky Cafe, you had me at burnished caramel sea salt ooze. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and were happy to make minor menu alterations, as I needed the anchovies held at one point and the mushrooms at another. So why not a 5? I could have wished for some more paleo veg options - the menu was great if you liked carbs and eggs and meat, and less so if you were hoping for vegetables and beans to be a tad more prominently featured among the choices. They did what they did very well, but I would like a wider range of healthy options.

Here's a secret if you want to go to the observation deck... make a reservation for the restaurant. $25 minimum to eat at the restaurant, which for lunch, the prices are fairly reasonable, and it includes free admission up to the observation deck. Otherwise, you're paying $20 just to go the observation deck. This review is for the restaurant for lunch. Maybe a bit above average price-wise, for lunch, but the food is good. Kind of a gastro-pub style of American cuisine. We ordered the cheese curds as an appetizer, and they were great. I also ordered the po-boy for lunch, and also very good. I'd go back; you can't beat the view.

The sky cafe was awesome. If you plan on going up to the observation deck, you might as well grab lunch. All our meals were great & the revolving view was out of this world! Very awesome experience!

Great place to eat if you don't have the coin for Sky City at the Needle! Great view of the city, just as good as the floor above!!! However, if you do have the coin, go upstairs, grab a table, spend $100 on a bottle of Cakebread, and enjoy where you are!

Would have give them a 5 stars if the food weren't half bad.. The Starbucks here are horrible, probably the worst caramel macchiato I had in my life.. View were awesome.. Other than that.. Love it

Ordered the banana macadamia nut bread pudding. It was $9, plus tax. In my opinion, it wasn't worth the price. The bread pudding was dry and lacked in flavor. The "banana" flavor completely escaped me.

This place...was AMAZING!!! You know it's amazing when they have a handsome guy playing the piano at the entrance. It's a bit much for dinner but you don't have to pay to get up to the observation tower (ticket prices range from $18-$24 depending on time of day) if you eat here and you don't have to wait in a long line to get in. Just make sure to make a reservation ahead of time. Once you walk into the restaurant, the atmosphere was breathtaking, the view was beautiful, and the waitstaff were more than courteous. We had made reservations a month before and were seated promptly after arriving. I tried their Anderson Ranch lamb (grilled chop, smoked loin, served with yogurt, black truffle, and yukon potato) for a main dish. It was priced at $59, but was sooooo tasty. And it is seriously one of the best lamb dishes I've had. I usually get it with mint jelly but the yogurt was a really nice touch. The yukon potatoes were tasty but a little over-salted; still good. I'd highly recommend trying this. Pair this with the fact that the sun was setting around the same time, the meal was positively foodgasmic. I also had their pomegranate cheesecake lunar orbiter as a dessert (in the pics, the ice-cream with the dry ice) and also tried the creme brulee. Ok, lunar orbiter, it's kinda cool how they did it with the dry ice, but was it worth the $11? Not really. The ice-cream flavor was interesting but definitely not something out of this world. The creme brulee was creamy and very fragrant but definitely not the best I've ever had. It's fairly big in size but taste wise, I'd say, save your $10 and get it somewhere else. Overall, if you're touring the area, i'd say this is a good place to try because the view really is amazing and the dinner was highly enjoyable. However, save yourself some money from the dessert and get it somewhere else.

I have been here twice; once for dinner, and once for lunch. It's kind of a touristy thing to do, but I enjoyed it each time. Great views of the sky line and Mt. Rainer. I liked the night view better. Meals and service were great on both occasions. Lunch is less expensive than dinner.

First time at Seattle, my friends took me to this cafe for brunch. I was amazed and the view is a killer. The revolving part of the cafe was so cool, and the food was good. The waiter was so nice and even gave us a mini tour from the restaurant. I will definitely go back!

We enjoyed a wonderful three-course menu with a glass of wine. The food was very good!! The view is spectacular and the turning restaurant makes sure you can enjoy it without being in a hurry. The staff is very polite and helpful. There's a photographer coming to your table asking if you want a professional photo of your stay.

The wow effect was there because of the view. The food was ok, I was expecting more for such a big price. I have been to other restaurants that is double the cost but was worth every dime. I felt that the food was definitely not worth the cost but around this area one must at least go once to say we have done it !

This place is all about the experience. Book a reservation and go up the elevators and hang out at the observation deck while you wait for your "text" that your table is ready at the cafe. NOTE: if you have reservations at the cafe you don't have to pay extra to go to the observation deck. This cafe has a 3 course pre-set meal with a few very delicious vegetarian options: $49.98/pp 1) Appetizer: - My husband has Belgian waffles (the softest waffles ever) very small portion - I has the Tomato Bisque soup - YAAOOOZAAA it was delicious - super hot and not ladden with heavy cream...very tomato-y and well spiced with one crouton floating in the middle. So soooo good. 2) Entree: - I had the pasta with porcini mushrooms and broccolini. This dish is very heavy and filling, if you eat the whole plate...Oh boy you'll be beyond full (it also has some tomato jam that complimented the ricotta filled pasta (I think it was ricotta filled) 3) Dessert: - Apple Cobble...another YAAOOOOOZAAA sooo good. Firm tart apples and cranberries in a nice hard crunchy topping of crumble. The apples were very warm but never mooshy. It is hands down the best cobble I've every had. Of course the view was awesome too. We came here on a foggy rainy day and I thought it was perfect...not crazy crowded you got to enjoy the whole food and viewing experience and our waiter would every point out certain places to us while the cafe rotated. This place would be nice for a romantic date night/just a warm fuzzy experience.

We came up here for the view, and it was breathtakingly beautiful. Of course, the night lights of the city made it even better, and with the cool temperatures, ahhh...total relaxation. We didn't bother getting the ticket with the meal, and each was about $19, so it isn't cheap for every day viewing. But would you realistically wanna come up here all the time? Probably not, so we didn't mind paying. Perfect to come after dinner around town, or even at the Space Needle. The various viewers scattered around the deck were great to see Queen Anne and the rest of the skyline. Pair this stop with the Chihuly Garden and Glass and you'll have a packed day/evening. :)

Went here last month when visiting Seattle, so of course we wanted to try the iconic space needle and food. The view was amazing, clean, and good service. I was very disappointed with the food! I order the Halibut which was close to 50$ and was served with luke warm beans! Of all the sides you could offer at a hill scale restaurant is beans. You could of added garlic mashed potatoes and it would brought the dish together better. I thought it was over priced, and the food was mehhh. So I guess youre really paying for is the scenery.

  • Matt P.

It's a bit touristy and it definitely isn't cheap, but the food is good and the views are amazing. I'm not sure if I would go back or not, but I would definitely recommend anyone make a trip here if they are spending any time in the Seattle area. It's all about the awesome experience you get by eating here.

Not a tourist-trap as I thought. This is a legitimately good restaurant. The 53rd anniversary prix-fixe menu is awesome. I added the oyster app and they were the second freshest oysters I have ever had in my life. Go there, spend the money, it's worth it. Andiamo.

We went here on 2/12/15. Like numerous other reviews stated, you really are paying for the view and not the food. PROs: Views (spectacular at night), Food was good (but had better for less) View from observation desk is amazing and included with your SkyCafe dinner price. CONs: Service was slow (as stated in previous reviews), server seldom came back to check on us (and it was not a busy night) The Lunar Orbitor was a really fun presentation but be prepared to pay $11 for a 2-scoop sundae. All in all it was a great experience & I'm glad I went.

Great service, great view, decent food. If you are visiting Space needle, plan lunch here, for only a few bucks more then just the space needle ride, you get food, and not to wait in line!

  • T E.

Good view, lousy food As a resident of Seattle, you go back to eat at the Needle hoping someday the very expensive food will be good. Sorry to report there has not been an improvement. Ordered the halibut and ahi entries for over $50 each and they were less than mediocre. You have to work hard to screw up a good piece of fish. Razor clam chowder had no clams (for real!). $35 minimum "per guest" so leave the kids at home. Service was terrible too. If you visit our great city, visit the Needle but only for the view as there are plenty of great establishments who will charge you half the price for a great meal!

Been here for several work Christmas parties, but for brunch twice with family and it is truly amazing. Great fresh fare, excellent sides, and as you would imagine an incredible view as you rotate around. Use your Prime card as its one of the best deals in town.

The Space Needle is an observation tower, a landmark of the Pacific Northwest, and a symbol of Seattle. It was built in the Seattle Center for the 1962 World's Fair, which drew over 2.3 million visitors, when nearly 20,000 people a day used its elevators. Once the tallest structure west of the Mississippi River, it is 605 ft (184 m) high, 138 ft (42 m) wide, and weighs 9,550 tons. It is built to withstand winds of up to 200 miles per hour (89 m/s) and earthquakes of up to 9.1 magnitude. It also has 25 lightning rods. It has an observation deck at 520 ft (160 m) and a gift shop with the rotating Sky City restaurant at 500 ft (150 m). From the top of the Needle, you can see not only the downtown Seattle skyline but also the Olympic and Cascade Mountains, Mount Rainier, Mount Baker, Elliott Bay, and surrounding islands. Photographs of the Seattle skyline often show the Space Needle prominently, above the rest of the skyscrapers and Mount Rainier.

Great view. Food. Beautiful delivery. Tasted great . Small portions. High cost. The waitress was nice. The kinda interesting was writing a message, putting it on the side moving rail and someone in the restaurant some where would write back. Interesting messages, haha.

Service was wonderful. Server was knowledgeable and food was great. Greeted and seated within minutes of arriving to the restaurant up top. First time my girlfriend went to a restsurant like this so it was definitely memorable. The light at the dinner table was a tad bright however, might want to change that especially for a restaurant with such dimmed lights. A few other customer were really loud as well. I think they forgotten where they were. Overall food was good, nothing out of this world. Service was mot memorable and the view was amazing. Wouldn't do it again however. More of a once time thing.

First of all, it is always cool to be in a dimlit romantic spinning restaurant 600 feet above the air. Yes you should definitely make reservations here. It's true, the observation deck is complimentary with restaurant dining so even if your entrée costs 50 bucks in the end, minus that $20 admission fee you would have paid anyways means a bargain. You can also validate your parking too. Also, do yourself a favor and ask for a table that seats next to the window, there are some two seaters that face those tables adjacent to the window.. Which means if you're sitting there, your dinner view is of other romantic couples eating and their heads in front of the landscape. Of course, all the tables next to the window are for 2 people and more, so if you're going alone, you'll probably sit at the awkward table. Potato and olive bread, complimentary pre-meal. Holy smokes delicious. I've never had potato bread that actually tasted like potato bread before..and the olive bread was just some really flavorful taste. Then my seafood stew (bouillabaisse) came out. Heaping chunks of fin fin fish, salmon, clams, mussels, potatoes and some cream that was made with sea urchin or something fancy like that. Also some more of that potato bread. (Obligatory: "Yo dawg, I heard you liked the potato bread, so I toasted three more slices, spread some butta all over it, and dunked it in your stew. You're welcome.") it was expensive but worth every lick. You do get more bang for your buck at brunch ($50 three course meal, anyone?) but one dinner entree is aplenty for me. Also, if you aren't familiar with French cuisine, be prepared to Google a lot of the food. Last dinner seating is at 8:30pm, cutoff for dinner loitering is 2 and a half hour but the elevator guy said he's left as late as 12:30am (observation deck staffs leave when restaurant closes, restaurant closes when all customers exit). Oh and lastly, this place is classy. Dress is casual, so says Yelp, but when there's live piano music, couples in cocktail clothing, and $40+ entrées, you might feel more comfortable dressing up a bit but it is totally fine if you don't - I repeat, there isn't a hard dress code but that said, I would still definitely classify this restaurant as "will you marry me" proposal dinner worthy..

The place was incredible i felt like I was in space haha the bill was high but I'd pay it 10 times over for the food we ate.. It was excellent. The restaurant spins and you can write post-it notes on the glass and converse with the other guests. After a bottle of wine I wasn't nauseous from the spinning space needle restaurant. The views were incredible. Had such a great time.

Four stars for the best view in the city & their kobe steak !! The steak was so juicy :) the view was magnificent. I suggest to book dinner here & get a free pass to the observatory deck rather than paying the entrance fee !

A beautiful restaurant positioned at the top of Seattle's most notable landmark. The view of Seattle is breathtaking as the slowly rotating restaurant opens up every wondrous corner of the city. But, don't let the view steal your focus as the food and the elegant piano playing demands your attention.

Well I'm not sure we will continue our Thanksgiving Dinner tradition here after 3 years, I think we are done. The food this time was dry, over cooked and very, very small portions. We left hungry and stop at Denny's for more food.

With the Space Needle being the quintessential touristy thing to do in Seattle, I thought that surely the restaurant at the top of the Space Needle would be overpriced and overhyped. Well, I was right about the overpriced part. But in terms of the quality of the food, I was pretty impressed. I went with my family, and everything that we ordered was actually pretty good. Not necessarily worth what you pay, but that's where the view comes in. Included in your meal price is "free" access to the observatory deck, which is normally $11 I believe. Plus, the panoramic views of Seattle (the restaurant revolves, so you see the entire city in the span of about an hour), especially on a clear day when you can see Rainier, are truly spectacular. Which leads me to my conclusion: It's worth it to eat up here for a special occasion, especially for visitors to Seattle. It's more meaningful when you are with a Seattleite who knows the area and what you're actually looking at, but even without one, there are spectacular views anyone can appreciate on a clear day. It's a popular tourist attraction for good reason. And the food is actually pretty good. Make reservations!

Location and view is a 5 stars for sure. Our server wasn't that friendly and one that helped him to bring out the dishes was rude. 1 star off on that. For the amount of money to pay to eat here, I will expect for better service especially it's a tourist place. $250 for 4 person brunch not including tip. Not sure if it is worth it! Another star off the review. Overall food wasn't that tasty as I would expect.

  • Harrison L.

Food there wasn't bad, was above average. We went in when it was happy hour and the server "TC" or so what his name was, a bad server towards us. He served other people fairly fast but made us wait for over 10 minutes (mind you the are wasn't even that busy at all) and I was sitting waiting to take my order, then after we paid, I needed change and yet he never came back faith my change. I called for him and he ignored me thinking that he got a 20% tip with poor service, I then waited and sat there for over another 5min. Yet he still ignored us. One thing for sure is that you shouldn't expect good service and bring exact change for the tip you want.

The Sky Cafe is the best way to visit the Needle. Tickets to the observation deck alone are $25 per person. Meanwhile, for that same price, you can get lunch AND the view! If that's not a deal... Make reservations (lunch is better than dinner), arrive a few minutes early and you'll be upstairs in no time. The service is a little slow, but the rotating view and complimentary bread hardly let you notice. For lunch, I had the seasonal lentil and bacon soup, which was a fantastic choice! Highly recommended. I also had the brie and pear flat bread, which was disappointing to say the least. The taste was alright, but the cardboard after-taste was not. It stayed with me for the rest of the day. I'm sure there are better ways to spend your $25 minimum, and one of them would be a nice glass of wine.

Quintessential stop in Seattle... Great history, killer view, large gift shop, and a decent restaurant. We hosted 106 people on the observation deck and it was outstanding!

My friends and I took the monorail from downtown to the Space Needle. We had heard the restaurant rotated so we really wanted to eat there and then visit the observation deck. If you want to make a reservation, you can go inside to the gift shop area and bypass the long lines out front. When it's your turn, they call you over and you take the elevator to the top which is a cool ride. The restaurant is beautiful. There's an inner portion with views (which is where we sat) across to the windows and then tables right at the windows. It takes about 40 minutes to rotate and it's not noticeable if you're afraid of feeling the motion. You just see the landscape outside changing every few minutes. The menu is huge. Prices are high - one drink cost over a hundred dollars! Everyone got a burger and I got the pork shank. I wasn't overly impressed with the pork so I traded with my partner and really enjoyed his lamb burger. Great wait service, no one's water glass ever went below half empty. Very crowded place but no pressure to hurry and finish. Once you're done, you can go to the deck. I think it's a must eat place if you're going to visit the Space Needle. Very unique experience.

1st time in seattle and I have to say the sky cafe has great food, awesome rotating view but the cost was to high and portion was small but our waitress was nice and informative. Oh! I love the way they pair up the crafted beer with the entrees.

First time in Seattle. ..a must to visit the Space Needle. We didn't eat in the revolving restaurant but at the observation deck...the panini sandwich, clam chowder and chili was great. Portions was on point for the price...sorry no picture. :(

This food was incredibly mediocre, and not worth the price.

  • Anne C.

Okay after reading tons of reviews out there, we expected the restaurant itself to be mediocre. But we were pleasantly surprise. First of all, you go here expecting to have a high cost meal - after all it's a one of a kind experience atop the space needle in a revolving restaurant! The views are amazing and second to none. The ambience is lovely with a live pianist. Our server, Cara, was nothing short of fantastic. And entrance to the observation deck is included in your price of meal (we were there for a late dinner and thus got to enjoy dusk over the skyline). For the meal itself, olive and potato bread with seasoned butter were nice. For starters we all had the clam and corn chowder - it was very good! Entrees included: the bouillabaisse (very good), the halibut (excellent), and the scallops (wonderful). They had a kids menu (as expected about 2x the price of usual kids menus) and my kid chose the Kobe beef skewers. The food was above average for sure. And for dessert, we did succumb to the touristy lunar orbit (ice cream sundae served over dry ice "smoking" at your table)...and the sorbet. Outstanding. Only downside was the high cost - but again, it was expected. Would recommend this experience for a special occasion.

The most expensive meal I've ever had, but totally worth it. How often do you get to eat in the space needle? And that was no excuse for subpar food. It was also one of the best meals I've ever had. Great flavor, good size portions, and excellent presentation. We had lots of laughs looking at the notes left by kids on slips of paper just below the window as the floor rotated around (about once per half hour) to give a view out every direction.

  • Jenn C.

The only spot for a quick bite or beverage if you are in the Space Needle - very fun spot for a tourist visiting Seattle. Awesome views and standard cafeteria fare - cheap wine and local beer. No food or drinks allowed out on the outdoor observation ring or you will be scolded by security!

    (3)
  • Patrick M.

Great view and decent food but way too pricey. I imagine they could afford to charge less with that 360 degree gift shop downstairs. Wonderful and friendly service though! Great waitstaff and even the elevator folks are great (for the 41 seconds it takes to get up there). The rotating floor was off-putting at first but you get used to it. Hard to get lost! Lots of history!

I was hesitant about agreeing to what is basically a $50 brunch, but I'd be willing to come back. I expected it to be a one-time event like some other landmark dining, but the food and overall experience were top notch. The brunch consists of choosing a starter, entree, and dessert from a selection of 6-8 items in each category. I had the biscuit and gravy, omelette, and a fruit cobbler. The juice and coffee is complimentary - it's nice not be nickeled and dimed. Your visit is followed up by a trip to the observation deck before returning to ground level.

  • Brandyce A.

You have to spend $25 to eat here + get a free ticket to the observation deck. But I mean, once you're eating at the revolving restaurant, the observation deck is just a little extra. So yes, it is a little "pricey" just to eat, but it was worth it as my first time in Seattle. It was a great perspective/view of the city. My waitress was attentive, and I got the burger, which was well.. a burger (but it was good at least). This was definitely worth it for the view.

boy did we enjoy this. IN all the years I lived in seattle, I never ate here. now that I'm not from here? we chose this as a tourist spot for dinner. I am glad I finally did it. our waiter was fabulous, and unfortunately cannot remember his name, but he had a thick accent. we had oysters.... yum. mushroom appetizer, WHICH I don't care for mushrooms, but tried it and not too bad. we also had the crab cakes. I had salmon, my friends had leg of lamb, raviolis and scallops. this was a meal to remember, and very filling. the wine flowed, the laughs, the views, and the conversation made this the highlight of our trip. I think we went round at least twice. lots of laughs, photos, and just in general good times. MAN has seattle grown since the days when I lived here. the view outside was great too, albiet freezing. LOL thank goddess it wasn't raining. I saw recently that mudhoney played on top. HOW COOL IS THAT? anyhow, I will remember this evening, and savor those ravioli's. man were those tasty! super super good. and you can never go wrong with salmon in seattle. over the top! and thank you. see you next trip! WHO DAT? you dat!

The food was delicious. I went here 3 years ago and I was raised in Seattle and I have never been to the space needle. I think we had to spend $35 each and I ordered wine, appetizer and desert. The view was amazing. The place was clean and I have been wanting to go back but they are always busy. Reservation is a must.

Lively place ... music loud enough to hear but too bad it's not loud enough to drown out my girlfriend constantly yak yak yakin! Food was OK but nothing to write home about. Great beer selection. Looks like 9 PM is past this places bedtime. On a sat night ?!! Bartender a bit slow ... lousy hair cut, poor grammar and bad breath. Need to check this out owner! I generally like a place with a little older crowd, but the folks I just talked too were pretty cool. Chili was microwaved ... bad move!

  • Merry T.

Meh, the food tasted okay and it was very overpriced. Maybe i ordered the wrong thing. We ordered some pasta and salmon, and they both taste bland. The only good thing about the restaurant is the view... Of course. Definitely not worth the price thou.... Recommended only if you want to avoid paying for the lift tickets to the observatory deck, and have some extra money to pay for an okay food!

  • Vannezsa S.

Overall, I'm a fan, but please explain why the entrance fee is $22! 360 view from the top doesn't explain the price. With the number of daily tourists, entrance fee is paying for maintenance triple fold. I noticed that most landmarks charge 20ish, too. There is obviously more to the price. Mountain views are beautify! Order your ticket on your smart device and skip the long line. Bar code on eticket can be scanned. The secret is to book a reservation to eat at the restaurant, which gives you a discount on the entrance fee. Meal plus ticket is the best value.

    (2)
  • Brian R.

Win-win: You get a really good meal, particularly the brunch, with an unparalleled view of Seattle on a good day, in a slowly-revolving restaurant AND your dining ticket covers the ride up to the top, which would cost you a bundle per person anyway. The service is excellent, and other than a bread pudding that they microwave (a star-losing shame shame) the other food was all top-drawer.

Excellent food. I must say we weren't disappointed for the food. And we shouldn't have been for $150 for 2 people, including alcohol and dessert. There is a $35 minimum per adult for dinner. Almost every item on the main course menu is $40+. But, you really are paying for the view and the experience. It was great. Our waiter was a plethora of knowledge on the view and answered all the questions we had. We ordered the lamb and pork chop. The lamb was better but the pork chop was still really good. The vegetables with the pork were better. The lamb had beet foam and roasted carrots. It is a lot of food so come hungry. We ordered the coconut cream pie for dessert- forget about it! Waste of money. Marie Calendar's has better coconut cream pie. But everything else was very good. You really cannot beat the view on a clear June day. While we were told we needed to make reservations a well in advance, were walked up around 6 and asked if there were any cancelations and they took us right then! Overall, a very good experience. Free trip to the observation Deck and free parking. They will ask for your ticket before dessert so when you are done at the observation Deck your car will be waiting for you in the parking lot. Talk about service.

I had the most expensive meal so far at space needle, but it was absolutely worth it. For the appetizer, the seafood mix (can't remember the name now) was pretty good. For the entree, the salmon and tuna were both super delicious! Go there with someone important though. Otherwise you might feel the money is wasted.

I visited my cousin in Seattle with my boyfriend and wanted to eat here. Definitely touristy but it was beautiful, the food was amazing, and the staff was great as well. We made dinner reservations (observation deck included) and went to Chihuly Glass and Garden before hand. We timed it perfectly and were able to see the city while the sun was still out, were on the observation deck at sunset, and ate dinner when it was dark. A bit pricey, but definitely worth it. What a great experience!

Amazing views of Seattle. Not a bad seat in the house!!! I was impressed with the quality of the food and well prepared but pricey!!! $31.00 for one crab leg, $24.00 for one shrimp skewer. You get the picture. Dessert home made ice cream is a must!!! Service was great!!!

You can't really beat the view over the city at nearly 600 feet up. Especially since you'll be rotating slowly so no matter where you are, you'll see every direction at least once. I wasn't timing it, but I think it was around one whole rotation in 30 minutes. The ambiance is very nice, and they have a photographer who'll take a picture of you which you can keep a digital copy of for free. The food was... well I've had better. I had the "American Kobe Beef" which was cooked just like I asked, but there wasn't anything that bumped it up to the next level. I was hoping for something a little more... special. Especially at that price. I've been eating some really nice meals recently, mostly from places that specialize in the new gastro-pub style of food. The service was something I would never wish on anyone. The whole dinner took around 2 hours, most of which was spent waiting for the food to come out. The server never apologized, and we almost never saw her. We saw the busboy more than we saw the server. As a past server myself, I was embarrassed at how poorly the service was run. TL;DNR Food ok, but not for that price View great service deplorable overall 3/5 because of the great view

I used to eat here when I was young a few times and i remember thinking that the food was awful. Recently went back over 10 years later and the food finally matched the view. Soooo much better. Was very expensive but good for a special occasion.

I would say that if you are a tourist of the Seattle area this would be an excellent place to come. However we came for our anniversary (since we had come here years ago) and we felt very overdressed even though we weren't that dressed up. I thought they used to have a dress code. We came and everyone was in shorts and t-shirts. The dinner was good but overpriced. You definitely pay for the view and the ride up to the restaurant in the elevator. The wait staff are very nice. I did request asparagus with my dinner and the waitress said I would get that but never did. A little disappointing. The view is beautiful though.

Great experience in Seattle. I got a delicate three course dish with great view. Server here are well-trained and polite. You can also save the admission if you dine in here. For food, I recommend grilled prawn as the first course.

Disclaimer: This is not the fine dining restaurant at the Space Needle with the revolving floor etc. This is the cafe on the Obervation level of the Space Needle. Just making sure we are on the same page. This cafe is a walk up, order and sit at the tables around the obervation deck inside the very top floor of the Space Needle one. As you might imagine prices are high but you are at the Space Needle. Sodas $2.74, Bottled Water $2.74, Juices $3.29, Snack foods like an Apple Fritter $3.01 or a cookie $1.78. More substantial food is available too. Oh you can also get that Space Needle drink bottle you may have been seeing all around downtown. The best item for me there was the Caesar salad. At $5.02 it was reasonable and the taste was the best I have had ever. I wish I could sneak into the back or downstairs at the restaurant and get the recipe. So good. They have enough food & drinks to have a lunch or snack and refreshments while you are up there enjoying the view. Perfect if you have been touring multiple Seattle Center sites and need a bite. Try it you'll like it.

I hate to do this but I feel I must. My Brother and Sister in Law were in Seattle last week from the East Coast so we thought we would have a nice dinner on a beautiful evening. We had reservations for 7:45 and did arrive early however we still had to wait until after 8:00 to be seated. Cocktails and apps were good and we were enjoying the evening. My Sister in Law and I ordered the Salmon and my Brother in Law and Wife ordered the Halibut. When the entrees arrived we were surprised the the portions were very obviously different sizes. My Salmon was probably 25% smaller than my Sister in Laws. My Wife's Halibut was almost 25% larger than her Brothers. Also to note there were no vegetables on the plates which seemed odd. We all ordered our Fish done Medium however only my Wife's and her Sisters were actually prepared that way. My Brother in Laws was rare and mine was mostly rare except that almost 1/3 of it was actually RAW. all four dishes were served with potatoes and these were also under cooked. I would like to point out here that these were all $50.00 dinners. If one were to ask me what I would pay for my dinner I would have offer $12.00. In all fairness I should say that I have had a couple of really good dinners here in the past bug this experience will most likely keep me from returning. Prices have really went up and quality has dropped. That coupled with the Chefs decision to omit a vegetable from the entree (WHY??) has sealed this restaurants fate with us and believe me, I have been and will continue to share this review with anyone who is thinking about dining there. I mean even the most basic of Cafes can cook a meal consistently and be able to compensate for different size servings. In closing I would suggest to anyone considering dinner here to maybe consider any of the other fine restaurants in the area and stick to the lunch menu (I have gad several really good lunches at fair prices here) at the Space Needle. Go to the Observation Deck for an evening or nighttime view! The $15.00 (or however much it is now) along with a good dinner elsewhere is still the better deal!

Lived in Seattle all my life and still a total treat to have dinner at The Space Needle! I know its touristy and they have to get folks in and out the door but can you please just kick the food up a notch or two? But still? Lovely lunch.

  • Krithic A.

Good for a quick bite. They have everything you'd expect at a cafe. Nothing fancy. Sandwiches, Cakes, Pastries, Juices, Water and Hot Chocolate. They even serve Starbucks. There is a long line to order, but it moves quick. Plenty of tables everywhere, so seating isn't a problem. You obviously get a great view since you're lounging at the Space Needle observation deck.

I am a native of Seattle and have forgotten about the Space Needle for visiting over the years. I decided to take my Grandkids there for lunch during the week as it is right by my office. I so was pleasanly surprized! The service, food and of course the view was amazing! I will make sure to make this a regular spot this summer for family and friends when they visit.

1st I want to say that, to me, Sky City is a lovable tourist spot. The View is amazing. Getting to enjoy a nice meal and sit around the table with Seattle at your feet is a special occasion. The Brunch is the most fun and the most choices as far as variety of foods. Dinner is good too, but when friends come to town I push for the earlier weekend meal. Everyone can find SOMETHING he/she is happy to have and you get to really see the city.

A must thing to do while in Seattle. Excellent views of Seattle while you eat and slowly rotate around. Food is also good. Excellent Chowder and must try the smoking ice cream. The waiters know you're there to enjoy the view and are very friendly and insist on taking pictures, which is nice. The only downside is that this place is very pricey.

So called historical was actually very modern. The observation deck a bit slippery but great view of seattle.

YUCK, this is the place where you can pay 18.00 for a crappy monti cristo sandwhich with miserable side dishes. The main reason you eat here is so you can sit as it revolves to see the view from the space needle while simultaneously eating a meal. The problem is the meal is an abomination before God and man!
