We have been over impressed with our meal and exceptional service from Gina. A very slight comment re: one entree resulted in it being completely remade. Great wine and whisky menu. We are coming back tomorrow to try the brunch. Back for Brunch and this place is now mandatory stop for our next trip to Seattle. Every bite is an excellent taste explosion.

A small place with a mighty fine ambience and some delicious drinks to boot. An upscale diner feel, if you will. We had a couple pizzas - Summertime pizza (bacon, tomatoes, squash and more). Light, and tasty - but only the slices which had the bacon on it. And they were not generous with the meat. The margherita pizza lacked the flavor of the Summertime pizza, but still good. It doesn't seem like you can go wrong with any of the drinks here! I sipped on quite a few of my friends at the table (with or without their permission) and they were all delicioso. NOT a fan of the service here though. Maybe they wanted to have a dreary saloon feel... but a little smile and friendly service can go a long way (and not only when the bill comes!).

Small but super cute place. Perfect for date night! Limited menu. Lamb Tartare- Loved the concept but didn't love the dish. Didn't quite like the cumin flavor mixed with the lime and the pine nuts were a little overpowering. We were also not a fan of the 5 little croutons-- would have been much better over a thick slice of toast. The meat itself was good though-- not gamey. Margherita pizza- Amazingly simple but delicious. Spot on. Crispy thin crust, great cheese with a little bit of basil. They have a legitimate stone fire pizza oven. You can add prosciutto for $2 or try their 2 other pizzas (limited selection). Steak- Perfectly cooked medium rare. Liked the white sauce more than the darker red wine sauce. Came with cooked carrots and bok choy. Wished the sides were a little more exciting but the steak itself was on point. The only complaints about the restaurant was very limited menu selection (interesting vegetable risotto type dish, salmon, steak or pork for main dishes which all seem kind of played out/banal). But all the food we got was executed well and service was great. They also have $8 house wines "on tap" that were pretty good. White- chardonnay and the red was some blend that was decent. Also the dishes are pretty small/sparse so this restaurant is great for 2 for sharing, but you'd have to order more of each dish if you have 3 or 4 ppl. Would come back again to try more food if the menu changes!

Great place to have dinner. Fare was well done, excellent service, and good beer selection. It's in the more residential part of Capitol Hill but worth the trek.

What a tucked-away gem! Restobar next to Sun Liquor on a quaint stretch of Cap Hill. Don't let the name fool you! The opposite of a whiskey bar indeed... Single Shot is quite possibly is the perfect date spot - airy and gorgeous, cozy not cramped, classy not fussy. Met a friend here for pre-dinner drinks and ended up getting dessert, because who can resist? Cocktail list is well-thought out, nicely carried by gin, bourbon and scotch notes. Great spot to unwind over a few drinks while soaking in Single Shot's loveliness. We split the dessert trio sampler, with tasting portions of each of their sweets: -Valrhona chocolate crèmeux (buckwheat cake with burnt orange caramel and hazelnut brittle): This was *easily* the stand-out, in fact, I would just order the full portion of this. I'm not even a chocolate lover, but the Valrhona flavor was simply outstanding and the texture and flavors worked beautifully together. Loved the buckwheat crumbles and hazelnut brittle was tasty as well. -Toasted honey pot de creme with sesame tuille, juniper and chantilly cream: This was easily outshone by the crèmeux with a lighter flavor profile. If you get the trio, I would probably try this second, the Valrhona last. -Chartreuse & Chocolate Chip Ice Cream: As a chartreuse lover, this was a slight letdown, as the chartreuse note was very, very faint. An otherwise refreshing option!

I swear Yelp was created to talk about businesses exactly like Single Shot. This tucked away little local hang out is so supremely awesome that people that don't live nearby ought to come and check it out. Here's what's important and then I'll break it down: 1) Fantastic food 2) Fantastic cocktails 3) Fantastic service 4) Fantastic atmosphere Are you still reading? You're not sold? I came here with my fiancé for a late dinner and we happened to be lucky enough to nab a cute little table by the window. It was packed at 10pm so perhaps try calling ahead or asking about whether they take reservations. Since we were close by we just walked in but this little gem is so lovely that it can be busy. But don't let the dissuade you! We actually had lightening fast service and I was surprised by how well we were tended to given that every barstool and every table was full. The drink menu is diverse but there's also a great variety of wine for people passing on the spirits. You can't go wrong with both a cocktail and a glass of wine! The food menu starts with apps and small plates and works its way down with medium and large plates. Of course the smaller the plate, the smaller the price and the serving. We tried a 2 small plates, a medium plate, and a large. -The seaweed butter served with bread was outstanding. -The duck confit pizza with BBQ Hoisin sauce was a huge hit. We also tried two specials and though I'm momentarily forgetting what they were, I remember enjoying them greatly. And because this was so solid all night and service was so great and the atmosphere was relaxing and fun, we opted for dessert. Which we rarely do! And good thing we saved room because like everything else, it was so good. -Valrhona Chocolate Crèmeux -- Buckwheat Cake with Burnt Orange Caramel and a Hazelnut Brittle -Toasted Honey Pot de Creme with Sesame Tuille, Juniper and Chantilly Cream -Chartreuse & Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Yes, we had THREE desserts to split. And you should too. With coffee! We had great espresso as well. This is the perfect hang out for catching up with a friend, impressing a boss or family member, or wowing a date. Not ideal for groups of more than 4 or 5 since the entire space seats about 40-45 people, but perfect for small groups and people looking for a classy, casual, comfy place to sip and snack. Curious to come back and try their brunch!

Really one of the best places I've been in Seattle. It's got a great menu for sharing and cocktails to die for. The food is truly amazing. Not pretentious, but locally farmed and tasty as can be! I could eat breakfast, lunch and dinner here in one day. A true gem on Capitol Hill !

Love this cute little boite in Capitol Hill! Came in early on a Thursday evening, so the place wasn't crowded and we were able to sit outside to enjoy the sunshine. Ordered a lamb tartare to start, which was delicious. It wasn't your typical tartare preparation -- mixed in with a really tasty smoky-spicy sauce that didn't have too much heat, and topped with nuts and dried apricot. I also had a burrata dish which was also amazing, accented with grilled bing cherries and baby snap peas. Service was fantastic, and the sever accommodated my weird food questions and drink requests with aplomb. The only negative (if that) was the price. It's a little bit pricy for your typical neighborhood bar, but the quality and service do make up for that price premium. I'll definitely be back.

disappointed when i waited until late night to order off the late night "Great menu" only to learn that the menu was outdated and they were out of 3 of the 6 items, and the suggestions they had still didn't include the listed ingredients. Going to think twice before making this a first choice for a late night stop for food and a beverage. disappointed.

A handsome and cool little spot tucked away in the much quieter side of Capitol Hill (hint: it's right next to Top Pot), the attentive staff will have you feeling like a regular whether it's your first or fifth visit. Great crafted cocktails from the mixologist. Black Rice Porridge and Oxtail dish were on point. The atmosphere was cozy, a bit difficult to hold a conversation across the table as The restaurant features an all-star cast of individuals known in the local restaurant scene: Rory McCormick (Re:public, formerly Post), chef James Sherrill, (Re:public, ex-Crush, Restaurant Zoe), wine and service director Guy Kugel (formerly of Altura), and bar director Adam Fream (formerly of Zig Zag and Elysian). As is the case with neighborhood bars on the Hill, parking might be a problem. Reservations are essential.

Intended to review while I was there but was so distracted by the awesome food I forgot, but better late than never! I'm obsessed with local, foraged foods and they had a wide variety of interesting ingredients, a superbly unique selection of some "weird" & specific wines, & the bartender did not bother me from my phone news reading until he sensed I was in the mood for conversation. Great location in a good neighborhood, little off the downtown path, but would recommend the extra 30 min walk.

I came here because of the pork chop and was super glad that I did! The drinks are great as well. The reasons why this review isn't 5 stars are: 1. It is incredibly loud in here. I couldn't hear my friend who was seated next to me and she doesn't speak softly. Also, the way the venue echoes the other patrons was starting to give me a headache 2. They will run out of food (in our case, the 2 pizzas and the pork appetizer) but 2 hours later, it will magically be available again for the table next to us. This struck us as strange and a bit frustrating since my friend wanted those 3 items, but had to settle for something she late less than 10% of since she didn't enjoy it (the chickpea flatbread) Overall, cool small spot with amazing staff tucked away on the quieter side of CapHill

It's located on the quieter side of cap hill, right next to toppot donuts. We made a reservation and went on V'day. We still had to wait a little bit for our table which took about 10-15 min (not cool). The ambience is super cool and had a great vibe. The staff very friendly and respectful. We were eventually seated and presented with v'day special prix fixe menu. Thankfully it consisted of some really good dishes. we had lobster orzotto (risotto with orzo), arctic char and mac and cheese with lamb. Loved every course. Super delicious. Their drinks are quite noteworthy. Osiris is extremely refreshing and yumm! Would highly recommend all the house cocktails. We were not super impressed with the dessert - don't exactly remember what it was and that's probably because it did not stand out. I will be back for uni and black rice and those amazing flatbread.

I hate restaurants. They're loud, noisy, expensive, and the food is always mediocre. This restaurant is an exception. I will go back, because the ambiance and food are great. It is small, personal, and the owner of the restaurant waited us, and was extremely kind and enthusiastic. Great place, I can't give enough stars.

First off, just have to say that the vegetables at this place RULE! While the Duck Confit flatbread was tasty, it wasn't anything extraordinary... but what WAS surprisingly extraordinary was the roasted cauliflower dish! ( Now this vegetable has only recently started to grow on me, but after eating this dish, I could see it becoming a staple as it is quite addicting.) And then there was the pork chop, which was excellent - perfectly cooked and tender - but I'd say that equally complementing in texture and flavor was the spaghetti squash that came with it. holy moly...I couldn't stop eating it!! I don't know why, but I never thought I'd be that impressed by vegetables but now I am and am looking forward to trying more the next time I go in! Ambiance and decor is a nice blend of casual and cocktail. What I did notice is that due to the spacing of the room and seating, that it can get quite loud/echo-y inside if its a full house, making it very difficult to hear your party. I found myself having to yell and ask my friend to repeat himself quite a few times... though if you go when it first opens, this won't be as much of an issue.

Another great experience at Single Shot. Wonderful service and fantastic cocktails and dessert. Four for dinner and tried 2 of the Rose's they had by the bottle-excellent. Can't wait to come back. Highly recommended.

It's always a commitment for a non-Cap Hill resident to eat at Cap Hill, especially in this area where it's fairly residential and doesn't have a lot of street parking available. Just a tip, you can park at QFC on Broadway and it's a brisk 5 minute walk to the restaurant. It's a small restaurant that would be perfect for a date night, except it does get fairly noisy and the tables are a little close to each other. I got the peacemaker drink - I liked it, mostly because it sounded like it had a lot of different booze in it and it actually just tasted like an orange soda drink. For the two of us, we ordered the roasted cauliflower, artic char and pork chop. That was plenty of food - the dessert menu was enticing us but we just couldn't eat anymore. The roasted cauliflower was just right when shared with one other person - it's a must order! The sauce looked like an Asian chili sauce but tasted nothing like it. We couldn't help but take a few tastes of the sauce even when the cauliflower was eaten up. The arctic char was perfectly cooked with a crispy skin. The flavors are easy to take in with the bacon, carrots and white bean puree. The pork chop was more unique with the creamy spaghetti squash, served with fresh brussels sprout leaves and pomegranates. There were other items on the menu we wanted to try - so I think I'll be back. I think it'd be fun to bring a group of people and order the whole menu and try a little bit of everything. It's on the pricey side, but we did order a medium size dish and two entrees with drinks.

I had a below average experience here. 1. On a Thursday night they took 8 -10 min in giving us a table although only few people were there. Nobody bothered to come forward and ask us. 2.The qunatity was small enough for mentioned as large plate. 3.I Was charged $23 for the $18 dish. If I'd not checked the receipt i would have ended up paying extra.

Hmmph. The pros: Adorable interior Cozy atmosphere Quality of the food The cons: Tiny portions Beer fiasco (see below) Service Most of our party ordered the Boundary Bay IPA. After everyone's first sip we all looked at each other- they were definitely not Boundary Bay's IPA, let alone an IPA in general. We politely asked the waitress if she could double check and she simply said, "Nope, that's what I poured you, I'm sure of it."......so we asked to try their other beer on tap which was a Red (to see if that's possibly what she switched it with). We had one sip of that and it tasted like straight bleach. I'm not sure if their lines are bad or what the issue was, but it definitely left a bad taste in our mouths. Overall this is a place for lunch or if don't have a big appetite. We left with a $100 dinner/drink tab and contemplated ordering pizza when we got home.

As good as a 5! Who would've thought you can find such a cute little place on this street. If you've been to one of the neighboring bars, restaurants, you know the vibe. It's is laid back, casual and comfortable. It's anything but dressy, pretty or cute. But that's the charm about the places on this street. Along came a single shot. It was a pleasant surprise. A cute present wrapped in an even prettier wrapping. The ones that make me squeal opening! This is exactly it. Love- the place!! It is charming, quaint, pretty and even romantic. But not pretentious or snooty. You can go as you are find yourself fitting in comfortably. Love- the staff!! It is brand new. If you except chaos, you won't find it here. Everyone is so polite and friendly. Double love- the drinks!! With the names like Osiris, Damuscus, Castro! You are sure to find one that's cater to your liking. Osiris - Vodka, Lemon, Sparkling Wine, Lavender Bitters. Yumm! I enjoy and love all things sparkle and bubbles. This was a good mix of both. Raymond Earl -Bourbon, Grapefruit, Vanilla, and Mint! It's like a Kentucky mule. Castro --Rum, Lime, Allspice Dram and Laphroaig! Scotch and rum mix!! I'm not a scotch drinker but I liked this. Damascus - another one with scotch! Scotch, India Sherry, Cocchi Americano and Orange Bitters! They also have a food menu that looks enticing. The food will surprise you! It is tastier than you imagined. Lobster mushroom with veal sweetbread - I spot Sichuan peppercorn. And I liked it! Pizza Margherita -pretty good. Black rice and black mussels- one word: Uni! Translation? Must try!!!! Dessert list looks pretty good as well but I haven't tried it yet. It's more like a restaurant than a bar thanks to their tasty food. Either way, it's cute, charming, romantic and tasty!!! This happens to be 3 mins drive from my place down the hill. Guess you'll be seeing here again and often!!

I suck at writing positive reviews on Yelp--somehow I only find the motivation when I've been let down. But I am resolved to post at least one positive review to match every negative one I write. And I am super pleased to do it for Single Shot. The only downside is that this place gets noisy (it's not cramped, but the noise travels far and bounces around). You have to sit close and speak up. Everything else is top of the line. The neighborhood is perfect. It's a quiet little corner tucked into cap hill. It always feels so peaceful there. The cocktails, the wine, and the food are killer. On all three of my visits, the service has been exceptional; that goes for both the waitress and the front of house guy. Man, someone knows what they're doing. My first night there, we had to wait about 15 minutes for our table, but the staff still felt so attentive and unforced. That's magic. I'm in love. I didn't realize until just now.

Good: Decor and ambience Coziness Cons: Everything else We liked the modern decor and this cozy place as we stepped into this place. Got seats on the bar and started to order. Our main issue with this place was the service. Really had to wait for half an hour to place our first order, and we were sitting on the bar! The bread toasts were good but everything else was okayish. Also felt the place to be a bit expensive. Maybe a nice place for first date, but I wouldn't go there again.

I'm a little torn about this place. I think it's good. The cocktails are good. The food is good. The waiters are lively and pay attention. But should one person really spend $75 at the neighborhood bar? Don't get me wrong. It is a beautiful space. It's cozy and warm and friendly. And the food is good. It's just not $75 per person good. (And we shared. And I left a little on the hungry side.)

Single Shot is in the former art space next to the original Top Pot on Summit. I still don't get the idea of basing the name around a giant gun replica, especially a fancy bar in liberal land, but ok... the atmosphere was actually quite nice. It reminds me a lot of Delancey's Essex, but darker. Same long narrow shape with a bar in the same placement. It's rather loud, and you have to raise your voice a bit to converse or order, but all in all, it has a good ambiance. I had the baguette with radishes, seaweed butter, salmon roe, and it was not quite what I expected, but very good. I thought it might be more of the traditional French radish and butter snack, but instead it was more deconstructed -- baguette crostinis with seaweed butter topped with salmon roe, and then very finely chopped radishes. It was really good, but I would have preferred toasted baguette slices (softer) over the crostinis -- the crunchiness was just too much! I also sampled a friend's Pernod - chocolate ice cream, which was surprisingly good. Like really really good. I would never have expected Pernod ice cream to be that good, and it was a great complement to the really nice chocolate bits in it. All that said, I wish they would put more snackable items on the menu, and try to be a little more accessible. There really weren't a lot of items I was interested in on the menu. The menu has 3 apps -- the plate I had, something pork with baguette (I assume they mean crostini again, though later on the menu crostini is mentioned... ), and something entitled 'pub cheese', that I may try next time now that I'm sold on the quality of food here. (For a first try, I was not going with something called pub cheese!) After the apps, there are 4-5 fruit or veggie-focused (but not necessarily vegetarian) small plates, 3 pizzas, and 2 entrees, then desserts. None of the small plates really appealed to me, and I don't often get a full entree when out, so I'd be thrilled if my new neighborhood bar tried to be a little more of a neighborhood bar, and offered more snacks and small plates.

I'm hesitant to review Single Shot because I feel like it's still a relatively well-kept secret but I also can't help myself! It's fantastic! I met a few friends for drinks and a late dinner. We ordered wine and cocktails and a few entrees. A girlfriend and I shared the pork chop which was served with spaghetti squash, brussels sprouts and pomegranate seeds. It was amazing! If I'd had a few more drinks, I would have licked the plate clean! Other friends shared a margherita flatbread which looked and smelled incredible. I enjoyed my Proletariat wine on tap and my the rest of the group enjoyed their cocktails and coffees. Rory is a gem and has put a great deal of thought in the food and its presentation. I can't wait to stop by Single Shot again soon. In the meantime, I will be dreaming of their pork chops.

OUTSTANDING duck confit pizza! Generous wine pours & truly innovative cocktails, complementing terrific food served by attentive yet unobtrusive servers with genuine cheerfulness and respect.... Why not 5 stars? When it's a busy night (most nights, due to above factors!), the noise is out-of-control!!! Forget date night, unless you're content texting your paramour all night! I think if they hung some noise reducing fabric panels from the ceiling, or some funky, noise absorbing artwork on the walls, it might make a BIG difference. It's no one's fault, it is an EXTREMELY compact space with a dedicated staff performing a culinary "high-speed ballet" to satisfy an eclectic mix of Capitol Hill's hipster/tech denizens. But JEEZ, it's loud! I'll go back when it's slower(?) and update my review. Tip: you can always bring those ear protectors from the gun range and practice ASL with your dinner partner!

I have eaten about half of the current menu. Every dish I would order again but the kampachi stands out as well as the chicken liver mousse. Both melted in my mouth. I like soft textures and layers of flavor. Balance of salt and fat matter to me as well. I don't drink many drinks but I do like the wine on tap! My friends who ordered mixed drinks really enjoyed the unique selection of aperitifs. The staff and owner are such a great and friendly group of people. The patrons are as well. They know how to create a good environment socially for sure. The design inside creates a atmosphere that match the very nice everchanging as the night leads on music.

Been passing by this new restaurant in our neighborhood so we decided to give it a try. Walked in and luckily there were two seats available at the bar. It was a rainy Saturday night but that didn't stop people from coming. I saw the staff telling people about the wait. Our bartender/server was really friendly. He have us suggestions on drinks which turned out to be pretty good. I had the black rice & black mussels. It had some crispy pork, which reminded me of a Filipino dish called lechon kawali, mussels, and uni. I really the the crispy pork, the texture was a great contrast to the black rice, the mussels were okay and uni...well I'm biased to it cause I'm an uni lover. Though my bf said he could also do without the uni. My bf had the porkchop which was awesome! The veggies and the juicy porkchop really worked well together. The ambience is pretty romantic, and intimate, great for a date or a small group dinner. Overall, I'd go back and try out some of the other items on the menu. Maybe the seabass :)

Love this place!! What a surprising little gem. I ordered a "Northern Cornice", and to my delight it became my new favorite cocktail in Seattle. To begin the noshfest, we ordered roasted cauliflower, and followed it with sharing an order of black rice porridge (with uni and #porkbelly, no less!) and one of the best #porkchops I've ever had. Great service, amaaaaazing cocktails and food. Coming back to try the grilled #foiegras!

Boyfriend took me for valentine's day and we both had a blast there. The food was amazing and our server was very competent and attentive. The food was excellent. Delicious foie gras and duck breast... And the Brussels sprouts!!! Oh, can't forget the desserts... Wildflower honey cream and valrhona chocolate mousse... I'm glad that we found it and dined there. It is a little bit chilly and can be kind of loud. Tables are pretty close to each other. Because the food and the service were great, I give 5 stars.

My friend and I stopped in after reading an article about it in Dwell Magazine. Admittedly, you are more likely to find me in a low brow hangout like Loretta's Northwesterner or Targy's Tavern but I really wanted to check this place out. So I pulled my shirt with sleeves out of the closet and made the treck up to Cap Hill. I was not disappointed! After bellying up to the bar my buddy and I immediately realized that despite the high end decor, this place is a great little local neighborhood bar. I may be a little rough around the edges and I mostly drink my whiskey straight but I also know my way around a good Manhattan and I'm here to tell you this... the bartenders at Single Shot know how to mix one hell of a drink. The fact that bartending legend, Murray Stenson, was quietly sipping on a cocktail a couple seats down from me also says a lot about the quality of the cocktails here. We split the margarita pizza to start with and it was wicked flavorful. Definitely not a huge portion but a great snack to share with another person. We talked briefly with the owner who was really friendly and he recommended the Pork Chops. They were excellent! My equally blue collar Bostonian Bro Date went bonkers over the spaghetti squash. He later proclaimed that there was no way that spaghetti squash can actually be a vegetable... Because he hates vegetables and all he could think about the next day was going back and getting a giant plate of "that weird spaghetti thing." All in all it was a great experience and even well worth the hour it takes to find parking on the hill.

Cute place, good service, but not sure that a $29 steak should actually be difficult to cut through... most of my energy for the duration of the meal was spent trying to chew through it.

Celebrated a friends 30th birthday here. Great cocktails, delicious food and great service. Also loved the decor - the place is intimate without being cramped. My favourite foods were the black rice, pork belly and the goat curry. The cocktails are also a must try!

There is so much to love about Single Shot. Right when you walk in the host and manager, Rory, greets you like he's known you for years. Then you're seated in a beautiful and intimate dining room to await your meal. And what a meal. The Seattle dining scene has become an inescapable morass of "simple, home-style" comfort food. You can't throw a rock in this town without hitting some joint pedaling mac and cheese or fried chicken. So to open the menu at Single Shot and behold ingredients like black rice, seaweed butter, and pomegranate - all in a hip setting for reasonable prices - is to sip a cool drink on a hot day. Food at Single Shot is not a blunt instrument, beating you over the head with one-note flavors. The dishes must be eaten slowly, and time must be taken to consider the subtle, delicate interaction each ingredient makes as it builds the whole. In the treviso salad, pine nuts and parmesan lend a buttery roundness to offset the peppery radiccchio and tender, fresh anchovies. In the Oxtail Croustillant, goat cheese softens the saltiness of the meat, and the inspired addition of fresh green grapes provides a burst of bright, sweet acidity to counterpoint the otherwise heavy dish. This is by far the best meal I've had in Seattle in quite a while. It used to be considered edgy for restaurants to eschew inventive, creative dishes in favor of heavy, simple comfort food. Now places like Single Shot, that celebrate a wide swath of ingredients, flavors, and textures, are making it cool again to eat complex, restaurant-made food. I hope they inspire others to do the same. Because if I have to look at another plate of chicken and waffles I'm going to lose it.

This place is special. I would give them five stars for the food alone. sophisticated dishes, balancing daring flavors with classic concepts. I have never had anything less than a superb meal here. The oxtail - to die for. Tartar? Exquisite. Even simple vegetable dishes are elevated to the level of true artistry. But at the end of the day, the thing that makes the difference for me is the unparalleled customer service. On numerous occasions, I have had them comp me a dish because it took too long to arrive, or comp me a drink because I was kept waiting too long for a table. It is this level of commitment to customer satisfaction - addressing the needs of customers BEFORE they make a stink and complain - that sets this place apart. I have never felt better taken care of than at this restaurant. My only hesitation at posting this is the selfish fear that it will become dreadfully popular and I won't be able to get in on a moment's notice any longer.

I left hungrier than when I came in for my dinner. I had the Margarita pizza and it was very fresh and flavourful. However my issue was its size. Any pizza smaller than the size of my face, is never going to fill me up for dinner. It also is ridiculously thin. The same thickness as a taco and very crisp. I estimate that it probably would have took at least 10 of these pizzas to let me leave feeling contently full. The dishes were all tapas size servings so order with caution, so not left hungry and having to go for a second dinner. Positives: great friendly staff and a nice little space.

I am literally amidst polishing off the Trophie Pasta au Gratin. And, at the risk of sounding unmistakably like a "basic bitch," I. Just. Can't. So. Fucking. Good. Granted I'm definitely the subspecies of Yelper that only reviews and rants in two scenarios; I'm either so appalled that I MUST scream and wail and whine OR I will be but a shell of a person until I sing my praises. So you may see this as a stoner-turned-foodie just white noise and call Shenanigans on my review but... Wait. What was I saying? Don't know CAUSE THERES A PIECE OF MOTHERFUCKING SESAME SEED BRITTLE ON THIS GOD DAMNED TOASTED HONEY POT DE CREME RIGHT MEOW. Meanwhile, Yelp is telling me this review is merely of "average length" and I simply CANNOT leave as such...as this culinary experienced has been anything but. Truly a wonderful addition to the small pocket of boozeries on Summit, neighboring nothing but dozens of condominiums and apartment buildings. I can't express how happy I am that a new, exciting little hideaway has opened up shop. I may still head next door for the proper rum cocktail, but I will definitely find myself to be a regular here. IN SHORT: It's a gem.

I just moved into the neighborhood and a chef friend recommended this place and introduced me to Anna. She is a wonderful woman with calming energy and a delight to be around. She works Fri and Wed and this is going to be my go to place both nights. The decor is slightly Parisian with a modern flair. The music selection is orgasmic. I'm in love with the outlier cocktail, roasted cauliflower, desserts and this amazing minty lemon refreshing after dinner drink. I am beyond beyond beyond overjoyed that I live next to this to die for restaurant. The owner Rory has impeccable taste and is genuine - it seems puts his whole heart and soul into the restaurant and you can feel it. I LOVE this place!

Happy to see some class restaurants in Capitol Hill. We literally live one half block from Single Shot and since discovery, have been 4 times. We eat out a lot; this one stands out in the crowd. Every time the food and service has been awesome. We have been fortunate to have Luz be our server on more than one occasion. Luz is patient, knowledgeable about the menu, and has made great recommendations when we want something new. The cocktail and wine servings are healthy here, (better than most in the area). Oh, and save room for the deserts, they are delicious!

Wow, well done... Had a nice Saturday evening out with a girlfriend on this cosy bar/restaurant tucked away on a leafy street away from the frenzy on the rest of Capitol Hill. It's a smaller place, with a single line of tables on one wall, facing the bar on the other wall. We shared small plates (the burrata dish was astounding) and a flatbread, which was perfectly adequate without going to the mains. Cocktails were effortlessly satisfying, and the service gracious. Will definitely come back for another tete-a-tete or small group.

I love this place. Great date spot, too...haven't actually been on a date here yet, but a girl can dream, right? FOOD: Chef James Sherrill always brings creativity and great flavors to his menus, and Single Shot is no exception. This is the kind of place where you'll want to share and try a bit of everything. From my experience, the flatbreads are always a strong option. Last time I came in, there was an absolutely delicious goat mac&cheese. Portions are ideal for two, especially if you get three or four dishes. The menu seems to change often, which is also refreshing. DRINKS: Like the food, the cocktail menu does not fail to impress. The bartenders here are friendly and at the top of their game. I've yet to have a drink here that I didn't like, and I really enjoy that the drink menu features a good balance of flavor options and some flavor combinations you don't see everywhere else. When I came in here opening night, there was a drink on the menu that I absolutely loved. Since then, it has not been on the menu, but each time I've asked about it, the bartenders were more than happy to make it for me and knew exactly what I was talking about. Last time I came in, I had the Osiris, and if it's still on the menu when you go, I strongly recommend it. ATMOSPHERE: For a place that used to be a small gallery, Single Shot really utilizes its space well. The bar is spacious and there are a surprising number of tables that have been squeezed in. The kitchen is open and impressively compact. The overall decor has a chic feel that still feels (like most great places in Seattle) unpretentious. Casual, but not too casual...it's the kind of place where you feel right at home ordering things like chicken liver mousse and craft cocktails, but you're still more than welcome to get some pub cheese and a beer. The ONLY real downside is that it is very loud. It makes sense; the place is tiny, and people pack in (or at least every time I've been in). For someone who has a hard time hearing in loud places, it's a bit too much for me. Overall, this is a well-done new addition to Summit, and I look forward to each future visit.

Okay. So. The food was amazing. My review is mainly dropped due to service. We had a reservation at 8 today. We show up at 8 and were told first seating was running long and we have two bar seats. Cool. 25 minutes later (ugh) we get sat and they comp that round. Awesome- thank you. We order 5 dishes (no dessert) and...there is such far spaces it's insane. Our water glasses were bone dry twice and we are not big water drinkers. Oh. And we are big wine drinkers and it took our glasses to be completely empty for at least 10 minutes to be asked if we wanted a refill. The food?! Freaking amazing. oxtail. Yum. Lamb tartare. Yum. Pork chop. OMG. The service? Not close to amazing for the price. Would love to come back but honestly not sure.

One of the best restaurant experiences I have had. A bunch of us were on a road trip and decided to spend new years in Seattle. We found this place last minute on yelp and they were willing to accommodate us on the phone. The food was delicious. The pear salad was refreshing. The steak was perfectly cooked. The service was just as good. We ended up having fun personal conversations with the Chef and Waiters. The chef James was particularly gracious and gave us something special in the end :-).

A festival of succulence! How do you do that with a pork chop? I'm referring to the nearly one-inch thickness cooked to juicy perfection on the inside/amazeballs seared crust kissed by angels on the outside. Other highlights included lobster-veal sweetbreads in a vanilla-scented parsnip puree. What? Plates were licked. Not quite, but it's almost doable in the cozily lit dining room. I didn't try the cocktails, but they looked legit and the bearded bartender seemed to be getting shit done sans arm garters, so that was refreshing. No pretense here! Please see Proletariat wine on tap for $7 a glass. The staff was super friendly and mistake-free even under obvious opening-week bustle. That's just classic Single Shot: Gettin' it right the first time.

Fantastic, delicious, gorgeous, extraordinary, hermosa, Amor, disfrute, tranquilo, and a mighty fine cast of characters :) There isn't enough words on both sides of the spectrum to describe Single Shot. It's worth the visit in every sense of time and comfort. Congrats to Rory, Adam, Guy, and James. The experience was delightful and I'm looking forward to the next visit. If you haven't been, do it.

The wait person was attentive, drinks were good and the meal I shared with 2 others was also very good. Many plates were very sharable, which is awesome. The one negative for me was how LOUD it became. The space was filled up with others, and there is not a stitch of textiles/fabric on the floor, the seating, etc. so the sound of people talking, laughing, eating became almost overwhelming for me.

Husband and I had dinner here last Wednesday. From the moment we entered, everything was perfect. We were immediately greated with a smile and shown directly to our table by a nice man. Shortly there after, our server arrived. She was very kind, prompt, and knowledgable. She answered any menu/ beverage question we had in a professional and warm manner. Our dinner was excellent. We started with their radicchio and anchovies salad (it was perfect). For our main course we had the brown rice porridge (awesome). I've been craving the porridge ever since. My husband really enjoyed his cocktail ( he is a hard man to please). The decor and atmosphere is comfortable and cool with good lighting. Book your reservation - you wIll be pleased and perhaps allow a few extra minutes to find parking.

Everyone needs to check this place out. Not only is the food delicious, but the decor is just simply gorgeous! The staff also is super friendly, and you can tell everyone really enjoys their job. This place is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood, and I can't wait to try more of their yummy dishes!

After reading all of the positive reviews, I had high expectations for Single Shot. The decor is nice and the cocktail I had was quite good. There was just one problem - this place is way overstaffed and the communication and coordination between the employees appears lacking. For example - I was asked not once, not twice, but three times by three different people within 15 minutes if I wanted to order dinner (I was sitting at the bar). Then, after I finished my first drink, I was asked by the same three people if I wanted another. Not wanting to repeat myself three times the whole night, I decided to go next door instead.

we came on a Friday night without reservation, took a cocktail at the next bar and 15min later we had a table. we ordered : Bites : Raw Radishes -- Seaweed Cream Butter, Caviar, Macrina Baguette Fruits & vegetables: Marinated Beets & Chicken Liver Mousse -- Pumpkin Seeds, Berbere Spice, Crostini Flour & grain: Black Rice & Black Mussels -- Uni, Crisp Pork Belly, Fennel Those three plates were very very tasty, we loved it ! 3 for two were enough for two people and stays in good prices. the only cons is that it is very noisy ... and a bit long for service but people are really nice and the place design & cosy. Enjoy!

Rory (the owner) is a swell dude. The food was 'yawn'. And felt more expensive than the value I got for it. I'm vegetarian, so maybe that colors my perspective, but Seattle is a great city for vegetarians. The asian pear and endive salad was nice and had flavor- the portion was pretty large. The roasted cauliflower dish was just another cauliflower dish *yawn* The cocktails were delicious. The waitress, it seemed like needed to ramp up a bit, and then caught her stride and got us what we needed. Would I go back? No. Did it feel very special, in a town of great restaurants? Not really. If you want to drop some cash and get a 'meh' experince, go for it. Or if you are in the area and just want a cocktail - go for it.

Rory McCormick and the staff of Single Shot have opened a gem of a restaurant in Capitol Hill! We were treated to a cozy and friendly atmosphere with delicious wine, phenomenal food, and an enchanting aesthetic. The combinations of flavors and textures are subtle, elegant, thoughtful and authentic. Everything that passed our lips was followed by yummm's and ahh's. A true epicurean's delight. I look forward to returning in short order and sharing the experience with other friends. Cheers, Michelle

Such an excellent place! Single Shot combines the coziness of a neighborhood hang out with top notch food and drinks of a destination restaurant. The food is both innovative and delicious - the pork chop and the hanger steak are stand outs for larger portioned dishes. We also loved the radishes, seaweed butter and macrina bread. For dessert, they're all great, but the pot de creme is irresistible. The service is great, friendly and prompt. You won't be disappointed.

All I can say is Aaaaamazing!!! We've been here twice and we can honestly say this is our new favorite restaurant! The service is great, the bartender Adam is exceptional and the food is out of this world! We've become quite the foodies since moving up to Seattle and have tried so many restaurants and this has become our favorite. If you can, sit at the bar. We tell Adam what kind of spirit we want and what we like and he always comes up with something wonderful! As for the food, we have tried the duck, pork chop, brussel sprouts, roasted cauliflower, cod, mac and cheese and the chartreuse ice cream. I mean the food here is a total mouthgasm!!

I love everything about this place. The chic decor, cozy atmosphere, and the food... ah yes, the food. We ordered the pub cheese (divine), black rice with uni, oysters, pork belly, and fennel (this dish is perfection on a plate!), and the artic char. The only downside is the portion size.

Had a great experience our first time there! We went for drinks and dinner on a weekday night. (We made a reservation on OpenTable, but the restaurant still had many tables available when we got there. They filled up while we were dining.) The service was truly excellent, the celery soda was an awesome non-alcoholic drink, and the Percussion Cap was an expertly-mixed take on the rye-and-bitters cocktail. For food, we started with a Hamachi crudo special and the bread service. The crudo was a fine dish with an interesting combination of flavors, but wasn't our favorite part of the meal. The spread that came with the bread was super-tasty, and I still don't know what it was made of :). As entrees, the two of us shared a Peking duck dish and an Arctic char dish. They were both very enjoyable, with very rich season-appropriate flavors. We finished every last forkful! We lingered around for a while, enjoying the relaxed but interesting environment of the bar and finished up by sharing the chocolate cremeux and toasted honey pot de crème. They were both good desserts, shout outs to our sweet tooths but not overly so. All in all, would go back--100%--either just for cocktails, or for dinner. Would recommend to others for the same--100%.

Food was flavorful and prepared/plated perfectly. Not sure they have the best taste combos/pairings in their dishes. Waiter was unique -- in a good way. Menu is a bit pricy. Love the atmosphere! Parking could be an issue for people who don't live within walking distance.

Wonderful cocktails, tasty food made from seasonal ingredients (I had a pork chop with pomegranate seeds, brussel sprouts on top of spaghetti squash) , cozy and beautiful space, reminds me of my favorite well designed places in the Netherlands and Paris. Friendly and welcoming staff and owner. I felt like I was dining with a bunch of friends. If I didn't have a baby, I would be there all the time (the space is too small to put up a wall between bar and dining, state liquor regulations, which would allow people under 21 to enter, besides a wall would ruin the design and flow of the space)

Really pleased Single Shot is doing so well. We live only one block away and its great to have an accomplished modern food joint so close by. We've visited about 3 or 4 times since they opened. Food has always been solid to very good. Interesting flavor combinations from the pub cheese to the hangar steak. Menu started out too small for my taste but, has slowly grown and feels a bit more rounded out now. I'd still love to see a bit larger selection of main dishes ( they typically offer 4 to 5). To be fair to Single Shot, the reduced main plate selection on menu's has been a trend for awhile so really their just following the modern standard in Seattle. Drinks are very inventive and very tasty. My only real small complaint is the size of the space and the noise level. It is a small space and something about the interior amplifies the noise to the point where its a bit hard to hear your dining partner.

Single Shot has swiftly become my new favorite place on Cap Hill. Let me begin by saying that the cocktails are on point. Perfectly balanced, creative, and delicious, the bartender knows what he is doing! The food is also delicious. The menu, though relatively small, is warm and rustic with small plates for the perfect snack or full entrees for those of you who are hungrier for more. I encourage family style eating so you can sample a bit of everything, especially the black rice with mussels and pork belly. Beyond that, the staff is INCREDIBLE. They are fun, friendly, and provide over the top service. Bottom line: Go here. Bring your friends, family, date, whomever. You won't be disappointed!

Impressive and inspiring what amazing thought and detail can go into a space that tops out at 47 people. The beautiful granite bar winds under a large wooden gun hanging above, which is the focal point and the mod lighting casts a warm glow over softening the scene. I have always enjoyed past projects of Ruaidhri McCormick and this solo project is no different. I ordered a scotch cocktail off their menu and it was wonderful. Food was excellent as well. The black rice with mussels, pork belly and fennel and margarita pizza were 2 of my favs. I will be back soon to revisit these...and try others, of course. A great addition to the neighborhood and city!

I live around the corner and came in with my guy last night for dinner and drinks. Food was delicious, cocktails were yummy and service was good. I'm so glad this place opened! The decor is beautiful, I especially love the light fixtures and the bar set up. It's a great place for a date or casual cocktails. I hope that they expand their menu as there is only two to three options in each category but everything we ate was so good we wanted to lick our plates so we'll be back for seconds soon!

Such a great new spot on the hill. My friends and I went in for drinks and a few small plates. Enjoyed the wine we had and especially the food: bread with seaweed butter, margherita flatbread, and our most favorite-- the roasted cauliflower dish. Good crowd, beautiful decor, and exceptional service. Will be back for sure.

We've been here several times and think it's a top-notch neighborhood restaurant. The decor is stylish and the tables are spaced far enough for some measure of privacy, although the place can get noisy. The cocktails are first rate and the small wine list has a solid selection at reasonable prices. The food is consistently excellent, combining inventive recipes with expert preparation. At the most recent visit we had foie gras with greens and candied persimmon that was decadent, brussel sprouts with a yummy gravy, and black cod and hanger steak mains that were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Each dish was delicious and we cleaned up every plate. The food is as good if not better than most "destination" restaurants in the city. The service was friendly and attentive. All in all, a wonderful dining experience and we will be returning regularly.
