I've had some of the best drinks here. The bartenders are great and all staff have been friendly and welcoming. Totally bypass the Starbucks to check out the yummy drink options inside Serious Pie. My favorite is the kale salad with sausage and the peppers. I've been to all of Tom's restaurants and the food never disappoints. But Dear Tom, please make gluten free pizza crust. Thank you. Another plus-single stall bathrooms. Way more inclusive Seattle.

Serious pie is in the same building as the Starbucks Roastery, just head to the right when you enter. My two friends and I ordered: KALE: crunchy, fresh, and had a subtle spice to it. SOFT EGG PIZZA: had prosciutto and arugula, with egg on every slice. It was not runny at all so it didn't make the crust soggy or slippery. CLAM: burst of clammy flavors (heh). You can really taste the clam, but it was slightly salty. A group next to us asked if we could switch tables right in front of us so they can sit with their friends. That wasn't a problem at all so we made the switch. The waitress appreciated that so gave us one pizza for FREE! Wow that was so nice of her :) super friendly workers! Although we got one pizza for free so our bill wasn't too bad, but overall this place is kinda pricy. One pizza for about $20.

    1. Hipster ambiance 2. Happy Hour is indeed happy 3. Nice place to chat Consumed: Soft eggs, smoked prosciutto, Pecorino sardonic, arugula pizza Sweet fennel sausage, roasted peppers, provolone pizza Friend and I came here for happy hour and it's great! $6 half pizzas. We sampled two as an afternoon snack. I personally likes the sweet fennel sausage pizza more. The soft eggs pizza also good. The crusts of the pizza were decently toasted and had a nice texture in every bite. "We'll come back again. "

There are several locations for Serious Pie, but due to logistics, we chose the location on Pike street and I am so glad that we did. What we did not know is that this particular Pie is located in a Starbucks Reserve; meaning this Starbucks is the only shop that actually makes the Reserve coffee! It was a very cool experience to watch and sample some of the coffee. That I also love about this location is that they have coffee and edible offerings that you will not find at another Starbucks; like the black kale caesar salad and the butterscotch latte. Delish! Back to Serious Pie....we ordered the mushroom and truffle cheese pizza as well as the fennel sausage and both were amazing. I am a total crust girl and I have no idea what they do to their crust, but it was to die for. Their happy hour starts at 3 and if you can wait it out, do, because the pizza is 1/2 off!

Serious Pie was one of my Yelp bookmarks for my trip to Seattle, but when we found ourselves at the downtown location we had already gorged on triple coconut pie and donuts from Dahlia's leaving no room for pizza. So when we visited the Starbucks Reserve Roastery & Tasting Room for breakfast and found it was also home to Serious Pie, we thought it was kismet and stayed for lunch. A Tom Douglas restaurant, Serious Pie uses a recipe requiring a cold 3-day process that produces a great pizza crust. We started off with some drinks. Their moscato is fabulous and they also serve a stoup beer that was tasty as well. We ordered two of the restaurant's most popular pizzas: the sweet fennel sausage (made in house), roasted peppers, provolone and the soft eggs, smoked prosciutto, pecorino sardo, arugula. The sausage was a little too much for me, but I just loved the soft eggs pizza. That was the clear favorite for our table. Later on I found out from a friend and local resident that the roasted seasonal mushrooms and truffle cheese pizza is super delicious as well. Loved this location and the atmosphere. Great place to relax and enjoy some good food with friends!

You first eat with your eyes! Even though there was a Serious Pie location within walking distance, we uber'ed to this one after driving past it the night before and noticing how cool of a location and building it was in. The Starbucks roasting house it's located in absolutely gorgeous. I kinda geeked out on the space since I'm into design. Them lights tho. The pizza is great. Neapolitan style with fresh local ingredients. Blistery crust with a good chew and char. Definite 4 star pizza. What earns them the fifth star is that we arrived at 4pm and unintentionally made it for happy hour (3-5pm) where you can get half sized pizzas (normally $17-19) for $6!! We literally got 3 high end pizzas and some fizzy water for like $20. Cheap eats alert! It wasn't even busy. All the pizzas were delicious! PENN COVE CLAMS, PANCETTA, AND LEMON THYME - The brightness of the lemon makes the pie pop. SOFT EGGS, PROSCIUTTO, PECORINO, AND ARUGULA - Looks like a salad on top of a pita but that runny egg makes it. My favorite. GRILLED FIG, COPPA, FRIED SAGE, AND CHEVRE (goat cheese) - Sweet, smooth, and savory. Good stuff. If I was local, I'd put SP on the happy hour cheap eats rotation.

This Serious Pie is located in the Starbucks Reserve Room. Yes, it's actually in the same building. I've had Serious PIe before and thought their pies were decent. The pizzas aren't super big so if you're a normal guy and eat a lot, you probably could finish a pie by yourself. I did manage to split one with a friend and we got about 4 slices each (probably equivalent to like 2.5 real sized slices). We got the one with proscuitto and arugula. They were quite liberal with the arugula (all you saw was green) so I definitely had to take some of the arugula off before eating it. I like that the pizza is rather thin and that pizza didn't have any pizza sauce, just cheese.

I love bringing people from out of town to this location! That way they get to check out the Roastery and it's a convenient location to start at when you're having a night out on the Hill. If there's a line to get in the Starbucks, just walk to the front and ask the security guard if there's a wait for Serious Pie. Most likely the answer will be no and you can go in with your party. Getting menu items to share us the best idea! My favorite pie is the soft egg which comes with arugula and prosciutto. Seriously delicious! Staff is always attentive and helpful. :-)

Serious Pie has delicious starters and desserts, but pretty average pies. I had the wood fired carrot dish with beets and honey, and it was delicious!! The vegetables were still warm and had just the right amount of crunch left in them; they also went really well with the cheese crumble and honey added on top. I also tasted the kale salad with Parmesan, lemon dressing and pine nuts, which had a great balance between bitterness and cheesiness. Pie-wise, most of the pizza was crust, leaving very little room for the toppings/sauce. As a someone who prefers a high ratio of toppings to crust, I felt like there wasn't enough substance to the pizza. The dough was also very airy (lots of air pockets), crunchy, and a little burnt in some areas -- not my ideal crust. Between the sweet fennel sausage, buffalo mozzarella, and pulled pork (the special of the day), the pulled pork was my favorite with the fennel sausage following close behind. For dessert, we had the coconut cream pie (special that's not on the menu) and the blackberry tart. Both were deeeeelicious! I particularly loved the shortbread crust on the blackberry tart - YUM!! We came here with a bigger group of people, but were able to be seated within the hour, even without a reservation. The waitress was very accommodating and the service was efficient. I wasn't super impressed with the pizzas here, especially for a more expensive pizzeria. If I go back to Seattle, I'd probably try out a different spot for pizza rather than return to Serious Pie.

I don't get why this place is hyped. Ordered the soft egg, prosciutto, arugula pizza ($18). Nothing special and also not enough prosciutto imo. Apparently pizzas usually doesn't come with much prosciutto but I would prefer little more for the price I'm paying. I love me more than less meat on my pizzas. The service here is really slow. I can understand it if it was really busy but there weren't many tables. This is located inside the Starbucks Reserve Roastery & Tasting Room, which you should definitely check out before or after eating here and order a coffee!

"Seriously. The pie will speak for itself." Note: this Serious Pie location shares the same building as the Starbucks Reserve. (Ahem.. Score!) Our search for a nice "sit down" lunch place takes us slightly up the hill on Pine Street. Our cravings for a delicious pizza without the penalty of a couple miles walk landed us at the doorstep of Serious Pie. This is a very unique location and most of my coworkers would not even realize how close it is to the Metropolitan Towers. We were immediately seated next to the large windows. Seating style allows for some flexibility with large lunch crowds and exudes a casual feel. The service was prompt and friendly which are two traits we really appreciate during a weekday lunch hour rush. The menu was simple and the item descriptions made deciding a challenging. I decided on the prosciutto, arugula, and soft egg pizza. Soft egg on pizza was a genius concoction. The pizza arrived still warm and generously garnished with pecorino sardo. The crust was nicely crisp with light charring. The arugula was still fresh and added a fantastic depth of flavor. The prosciutto and soft egg provided a unique blend of richness. This pie was serious. The price may be a shock but the taste and freshness explains it all.

When asking about the best pizza in Seattle, I constantly was referred to Serious Pie. There are several locations but we ended up at the one within the Starbucks Roastery. We arrive and it's happy hour! Sweet! We get 2 pizzas- margarita and mushroom. I always have to have soda with pizza so I got a Mexican coke. Delish! There were other pizza options and drink options but we stuck to those. And HH made them $6 each. The pizzas come out on a black slab and they are pretty big for one person. But it was pretty good! I would recommend trying it, but do it at happy hour!

I really wish we could get one of these in the Bay Area. I LOVE thin crust wood fired pizza's so this place had my name all over it. It's located in the Starbucks Reserve so you can have a nice after lunch/dinner coffee to go with your fabulous meal. The pizza here really hit the spot. Crispy, light, with fresh ingredients. What more could you ask for? The dessert was decadent so make sure you save room. Service was great. The waitress had some really good recommendations. Come with a large party so you can order a bunch to share. I think we ordered 2 salads and 6 pizzas total. Our favorite was the truffle mushroom pizza... nomnom When in Seattle, make sure you add this to the list. 5 stars

You've got to be seriously joking, right? Almost $20 for an individual pizza? So glad I was in bed while I was eating this. It did taste good and the ingredients were fresh but there's nothing special about it besides that. If you want a good, clean, tasting pizza, here you go! But get ready to pay for it.

Serious Pie is one of my favorite pizza places. They don't serve your "traditional" pizza, which is one thing I like about it. Don't get me wrong, I love all kinds of pizza, but Serious Pie is serious about their pizza pies! My faves are the mushroom, prosciutto, and fennel sausage pizzas. So tasty. One thing I don't like about their pizzas, though, is that sometimes the bottom of the crust has a lot of burnt stuff on it. But I was told we can ask to have it less charred so we might do that next time. I do love that this location is inside the Starbucks Reserve Roastery!

This is the 3rd (or 4th?) Serious Pie in Seattle and probably the best. It's spacious, with high chairs and normal height table, much better bar, and equally delicious pizza. Funny that we never ordered coffee here, considering it is actually inside the Starbuck Roastery. The usual pizza selection. Don't forget to ask for the coconut cream pie. It is not on the menu. The happy hours offer half size pizzas. Wonderful for small group to enjoy more kinds of pizzas.

Checked this place out after touring the Starbucks Roastery (which by the way is worth a visit). Had Serious Pie bookmarked so I figured why not check it off my list since it's right here. Our pie arrived with a majority of the crust burnt/blackened. I kinda like that, but it shouldn't be that char'd. Furthermore, it was a pretty small pie in size and definitely had too much crust going on, it felt like i was eating mostly bread. The toppings (the few that were on there) were definitely fresh and everything tasted very good together. It just felt strange paying their prices for mostly bread. To be fair, the pie did taste very well, we just got a disproportional and over cooked pie

Serious Pie has some *seriously* good pizza.... See what I did there?! This is another fantastic Tom Douglas restaurant (make sure to try all his other restaurants as well). Although this Serious Pie has a smaller menu (no biscuits!), the pizzas are just as delicious. This is connected to the massive Starbucks Roastery. Which means you can also grab some delicious coffee or tea while you're there! Right when you enter, there are plenty of tables and I have never had to wait for a seat. There is also a great bar area away from the bustle as well. My favorite dishes are: 1) Kale Salad - lacinato (aka Dino) kale, Calabrian chilies, and pine nuts. Delicious! I am a big kale fan, but you definitely don't have to be to enjoy this salad. The kale is marinated so it is soft and not bitter at all. The pine nuts are the perfect complement to add a crunch factor to the salad. 2) Mushroom & truffle pizza - a bit on the salty side, but still delicious. My favorite pizza on the menu- who doesn't like truffles? But this pizza must be eaten quickly while it's hot, because the cheese starts to get hard when it cools 3) Soft Egg Pizza - soft egg, prosciutto, pecorino, and arugula. This pizza uses the soft egg as a base instead of your traditional tomato sauce. The arugula, which had a zesty lemony taste to it, pairs nicely with the salty prosciutto. There probably isn't a bad pizza on the menu, but those are my personal faves!

If you're from Seattle then you know that serious pie mean serious business and serious waits... So if you're looking for a great place to come with not a serious line but would seriously great pie. I suggest you come to the Starbucks reserve on pike in visit Stephanie at the bar who is an amazing host, bartender and aficionado of the food of serious pie eats. So stop by the location located inside the Starbucks reserve lolcation 1124 Pike Street Stephanie.

Yum! I love pizza and I'm glad I came during happy hour (3-5pm). All their pizzas were $6. We got 5 for 2 people lol my favorite was the smoked salmon!

Concept is good, ambience gets 5 stars, but the food. Eh. For the cost of these pizzas we should be getting stellar pizza. $18 for a very small flatbread is absolutely ridiculous. Especially when the crust is burnt. I LOVE oven roasted pizza but the crust should not be completely black. This is one of those restaurants who's trying to get by on their fancy ingredients and modern decor to justify top notch prices. But for me...the food should speak for itself - and all it's saying is, "Save your money!" Either the quality of the food needs to improve drastically, or prices need to drop in accordance with their current food.

Serious Pie is....seriously GOOD! Stopped in last night for dinner before a concert - waited about ten minutes for a table. We had a table to ourselves, but it appeared others were sitting communal at larger tables. We started with the kale salad - perfect amount for two and it wasn't overdressed, fair amount of yummy cheese and it had a great crunch, very fresh. Then we shared the roasted fennel sausage pie. My husband and I were both in heaven. It was big enough to share, although without the salad before hand I might have still been hungry. Oh! can't forget to mention the root beer on tap - I'm not even a soda drinker but had to indulge and no regrets YUM. The service was fast and friendly and I thought the prices matched the quality- will definitely be back!

Good, solid pizza... I recommend the arugula pizza, yum yum. I love how they have multiple eggs on the pizza rather than just one in most pizza places. The food is a bit on the pricier side, but they have happy hour. Also, I'm seriously surprised about people's portion sizes. The two of us shared a pizza but everyone else around me had a whole pizza to themselves? After, swing by the roastery to get beans and more!

This place is inside Starbucks Roastery. The decoration is good, lighting is delightful. They have interesting flavors for pizza and they taste good. If you come to the starbucks Roastery and feel hungry, give it a try. One thing I was not very happy is we found mud on our salad - aka the black sticky tasteless thing usually found on ground near plants. Sadly we didn't notice so we tasted a bit, we felt gross. Called our waitress, waitress called the lady at the front desk who guiding customers to seat (maybe is the Maitre D?). The front desk lady came back later without apologize, and said, even though we took the salad off the bill, but it's just black pepper, like a big chunk of black pepper, not mud or such. I was okay to let this lie go because I didn't have to pay for the muddy salad. But hey, don't fool your customer. We eat black pepper and know how it tastes, and we know how a big chunk of black pepper looks like. I just feel her statement was almost ridiculous after I even told her we ate a little of the mud without noticing it.

So the interesting thing about this place is that it's located in the Starbuck's Reserve and Roastery. Which was cool and not at the same time because we wanted to visit Serious Pie on our last night in Seattle and wasn't aware that the location we picked was in the Starbucks that we had literally visited 4+ times already due to staying at an Airbnb around the corner. Either way, it was a good experience. My boyfriend and I ordered the charcuterie plate and two pies (one for each of us). The meal was definitely enough to fill us up and the service was very charming. I can't say that the pizza can beat any other pizza that we have in the bay or in the pizza spots I've been to in LA/SD/OC but still yummy.

So good! I was surprised! Possibly the best pizza I've ever had, and I've had New York, Chicago, and California pizza. We ordered the mushroom and truffle pizza. The bread is perfect and fluffy. The truffle oil adds wonderful flavor. The cheese is melty and gooey. The mushrooms were perfectly cooked. $20 for a pizza. There are 3 locations total, all located in Seattle. Supposedly the owner represents the heart of Seattle according to some critics. I'd definitely come back.

You can't use a name like Serious in your title unless you're taking things seriously. And in true Tom Douglas fashion, this is a seriously awesome space serving up equally awesome food. Much like the other locations, this spot is slinging up delicious, small portioned pies. Grateful for its Capitol Hill location, I anticipate this becoming a regular hang out not just for myself, but tons of my friends as well. The bar area seats 12 or so people comfortably and with great people like Charles Veitch behind the stick, the drinks are bound to knock your socks off. Seriously among the better cocktails you'll get in the area. Between this bar, Rumba and newbie Stateside you don't even have to walk 100 ft to get a great cocktail. The pizza (as always) is delicious. Expect to pay a premium price for great quality. This isn't a place where you can spend $10 and be in/out. If you know that coming in and you're here to be wowed, then you'll enjoy the pizza and the price. The ambience here is dark and romantic. It's a large space though so once it's full it has the potential to be a little loud. The light fixtures, the tables, and everything in between are really impressive. Like the Starbucks Roastery it's attached to, the space has an industrial, mid-century modern feel to it. Very clean, very minimal, very masculine and pretty. Don't come here just for pizza, though! Hang out at the bar, check out the appetizers, and stay for the scenery and the good people watching. What a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

The pizza is great and pretty authentic. Prices are on the high side, you're paying for the location and atmosphere. The pizzas are in the $16-20 range, and they serve 1-2 people depending on appetite. Service was efficient. Nice bar and wine list.

Coffee and pizza is not a combo that I would usually jump to, but an iced coffee from the Roastery is not a bad idea to take into your meal at Serious Pie. Marc C. and I had just ordered an iced coffee from Starbucks and actually made really good time since it was just a little past 11. Serious Pie had just opened up and we were the second part of patrons for the day. Since we were on our foodie agenda for that day, we decided to get one pizza and share it. We chose the soft eggs, smoked prosciutto, pecorino sardo (cheese), and arugula pizza. I was particularly drawn to this one since I had never had egg on my pizza before. The pizza came in about 15 minutes or so, and it's kind of a slot shaped pie. About 14" long, and 8" wide. It's a thin crust pizza, so I'm sure I could've eaten one by myself and not be really full. If we were having a full meal here, I'm sure we'd need at least one pizza per person. There were yolks hidden under the arugula, and once you broke them, the yolk spilled over the pizza. It was warm and rich. Overall, the pizza tasted a little sour/ tart (like vinaigrette) and salty from the prosciutto. It was a very good pizza. I think it's a bit pricey though. The pizza was $18, which is the average price of a pizza there. Still, it was a nice place to check out on our trip.

A good solid pizza establishment that offers interesting flavors. Location wise, it was perfect because it shares a space with the Starbucks Reserve & Roastery. I came here during happy hour on a Monday, which I definitely recommend because the pizzas were 6 dollars each!. The happy hour portions were more than enough. I ordered 2 pizzas: the soft egg with arugula and prosciutto and the Margherita pizza. I wasn't too fond of the flavor of the soft egg pizza but I found the textures to be interesting. It was a little hard to eat because the arugula kept falling off. I preferred the margherita pizza a little more and the crust offered a nice crunch that complimented the contrasting acidity of the tomato sauce. Service was nice and not overbearing. They were good about refilling our waters and were more than happy to provide suggestions on what to order. In summary, I think the pizzas are worth a try but it isn't something that I would go out of my way to get. Try to come during happy hour to avoid the expensive price tag.

Today was me and my friend's first time here and we had a good experience! We came in just in time for happy hour too, yay!! So we ended up ordering a half pizza for each of us and the nuggets appetizer. :3 The nuggets weren't actually the usual chicken nuggets. They were so good and savory. I'm not sure what meat was in it but it was bomb. Wish there could have been more than 5 pieces. :( everything was only $6 for each item during the happy hour, good deal! And for the pizzas, they didn't really taste like the usual pizzas either. But still delish! I ordered the one with soft egg and my friend ordered the Yukon gold potato one. Mine was mildly spicy which made it yummier! They were even better when we got the tomato sauce to dip it in. :3 The service was also very good! Great atmosphere too! And super convenient that the Starbucks reserve was in the same building! I would definitely come back again!

In all honest, the pizza here is truly as good as it gets. Definitely a major place to visit if you are travelling to Seattle, come during the Happy Hour for $6 half pizza's they are really well made. Doesn't hurt to get a $2 Miller while your there too. Will definitely be coming back here.

I believe this is the 3rd location of Serious Pie? This one is located inside the Starbucks Roastery.. I was so worried that they serve only coffee but no beers. Negative, full bar, wine, and beers... phew We ordered sweet fennel sausage pizza to share, pretty food for my high standards for pizza. Don't forget to ask for the red pepper flakes for your pie, pretty spicy, went very well with the fennel sausage. Crust was think, pretty crunchy, sauce and toppings were also decent. As for drinks, they have have a handful (less than 10) of beers on tap.. selections was also mediocre, only one IPA? That's not enough for a pizza like this. They probably need to hire me to design their beer menu. Not bad, but Pizza Port in San Diego is better.

  • Stacy K.

If I'm being honest, I don't think Serious Pie is worth all the hype or worth the long wait. I ordered the pizza with soft egg, prosciutto, topped with arugula (and got extra prosciutto). The prosciutto unfortunately wasn't cut all the way through by the kitchen, and so it was extremely hard and messy to eat because we weren't able to cut/bite through the meat (which was hard in some parts). Chunks and strings of prosciutto was everywhere and everything!

  • Maria D.

What the actual...?! I've been to the one on Virginia St and this one is soo far off it face planted during the jump and slid underneath the bar. The crust is soggy, over proofed, and over hydrated. The sausage has been over worked (texture is mushy and loose), the sauce falls flat (don't get me wrong, it's good, but as good as the marinara from Trader Joe's), and the mozzarella is rubbery. Wait staff was rude, but maybe it was just serious case of resting bitch face. Ambiance is kind of crap since it's located inside of a friggin Starbucks so you get the joy of listening to awful corporate cafe music, coffee roasters, and a bunch of hipster tourist that think that they're cool and hip since you know, it's a Starbucks reserve not an actual Starbucks. The saving grace was the root beer and the olive oil...no not really. It's because my mom convinced me to give it a 2 instead of a 1. Save your appetite and your time, hike down the road and go to Pike Place for a piroski and some doughnuts instead. You'll thank me later. Scale of white girl wasted to Stirling Cooper from Mad Men, it's Ke$ha. People like it but you don't know why.

This place is A-OK, its sometimes a hit or a miss. Service is definitely a lot better here at the reserve than the other location in downtown and not as crammed. Every time I asked for extra cheese or extra onions, they pretend that there's extra cheese when there's not, so I always end up asking twice. And they always forget my onions :-( However, mediocre service aside, the food is very tasty even without the extra accommodations. So far, my favorite pizza that they have served would be the St. Patrick's day corned beef pizza, I hope they start serving it all the time, please consider making it part of your menu full-time!

Best pizza ever! Seasonal mushroom with truffle cheese was well-seasoned and just the right amount of truffle. Thin crust that rises makes for tasty bread but not too thick. Cheese was amazing and not too heavy. Must try in Seattle. Bonus: Starbucks Roastery in the same room, free wifi.

Stopped by this new branch of Serious pie after having been to the other 2 branches in South Lake Union and Downtown 6-7 times before. I like that this location is walkable to the Capital Hill crowd. The ambience is great and conducting to great energy/good conversation. There's a lot to see/chat about, even if you don't really have a lot to talk about with the people you come here with (e.g. good place for conversation breaker for sure!). You can talk about coffee, roaster, Starbucks, tom Douglas restaurants, pizza, décor, lighting of the place, etc etc :D Like any other serious pie branches, the menu is quite limited (maybe 5-6 choices of starters, 7-8 choices of pizzas and 4-5 choices of desserts. We picked 2 pizzas (the mozzarella, rapini and anchovies pizza and the blue cheese, roasted garlic, blue cheese, olive oil and prosciutto pizza). They both tasted wonderful! We even went for their special dessert for that day, too (some sort of pistachio mousse cake with pomegranate, candied orange/citrus peel, ground pistachio and pistachio tuile). And to no surprise, the dessert tasted wonderful, albeit quite small...but hey..it was pretty looking though! Overall, we enjoyed our meal a lot. It was a great get away to check out this new addition to Capitol Hill while some people were away on holidays! -1 star as the price was a bit high for the portion of food you get (although they tasted awesome). Starters and desserts range from $8-$10 each while pizza ranges from $16-18. That said, t's definitely a good place to bring/entertain people/out of town guests. P.S. You don't have to wait in the same line as people who line up for the Starbucks Roastery. If you just want to eat at Serious Pie, skip the line outside (where people typically line up for coffee). go in the same entrance as the roastery and the restaurant is to the right (you can still be entertained by sound of coffee beans being roasted).

We had a pizza here on Saturday night - the mushroom/truffle oil one. VERY yummy. The service was super, very friendly. I had a delicious martini, and they had non-alcoholic beer for my hubby, which not everyone does. Prices were very reasonable, and the people watching as you view the Tasting Room is fun!

My Uber driver recommended this place while I was in town, and I wasn't disappointed. They have a great happy hour - $6 personal pizzas! I had the potato one, and it was perfection. The location is inside the Starbucks roastery and "tasting room," but not to worry, this is a fancy Starbucks, so the atmosphere is more of an upscale pub as opposed to a fast food place.

I'm in love with their pizza crust!!! That stuff is good. My friend says it takes them multiple days to make it. It certainly tastes like special care was put into it. Crispy, soft, flavorful. I went for the one with Yukon potatoes, Rosemary, cheese. When I was in Italy, some of my favorite pizzas had thinly sliced potatoes and they were some of the best I had. So I was not disappointed by this one! $17 for a pizza. You can split one with a friend and be satisfied. Again, I've never been so impressed by a pizza crust. Pleasantly surprised by this place!

There's some kinks that need to be worked out. The lady in line at Starbucks said we could get our coffee at Serious Pie. Thank goodness only a few of us got out of line because it turns out you can only get drip there so then we had to BACK to the Starbucks line to get our coffee before heading here. I had been raving to my friends about how amazing Serious Pie is. I love the other locations but I think this place is off it's game a bit. We got the fennel sausage, potato and truffle mushroom pizzas. The mushroom pizza was amazing as always. The potato was pretty good too. My friend thought the fennel sausage's cheese tasted a little strange but the problem with all of them was it was WAY too salty!! The potato pizza was a little salty on the topping side but all the crusts were covered in huge chunks of sea salt that made me super thirsty. The crust was, in my opinion, borderline inedible. I really hope this is something they change. I normally love Serious Pie but the salt chunks have got to go.

Always busy.. but worth the wait! Pizza is amazing.. great seasonal vegetarian offerings. Even take out takes forever but this is some of the best pizza ever!

We had an ok dinner here before getting coffee at the roastery. We ordered a salad and calamari as an appetizer, and the calamari is nothing like I have ever seen before - think pasta salad with calamari substituted for the noodles. It was served cold and tossed in mayo with garbanzo beans. Not my favorite. The salad with vinaigrette was decent. The crust on the pizza was good - thin and crispy, but it was way too saucy. We tried the fennel and sausage which was good, our friends had the mozzarella and basil which they said was just ok. The pizzas are large enough for two to share, but the salad definitely helped. For $18 I expected more sausage and less sauce. If we go back it will probably be just as an appetizer or we will skip it all together and stick with the roastery. My fiancé says he is hungry and is now looking for something else to eat.

I don't even know what to say : I was expecting another average american brick oven pizzeria trying to emulate Italian greatness and falling short but being acceptable like every other neapolitan place in Seattle (or the USA) This is absolutely legit. The crust was a little oily, but blackened and charred by a flame into a perfect crispy consistency loaded with oil and juice like a savory steak. As this is pizza no need to mention anything else besides the bread. The crushed red pepper seemed more fresh / potent and the anchovy / potato toppings were also very Italio-legit much more so than mostly all Amerio-neopolitcan oven spots. Go during the day so you can avoid rabid tourists. Id say its very unfortunate that this place is tacked on to that monstrosity Starbucks Reserve.

I was skeptical but man that was delicious. I got the Mozzarella pizza and added an egg just because an egg is great on anything!

Good idea with the handtoss dough, it's expensive, small portion. Lack of topping choices. Cold press coffee didn't come with sugar or condense or milk. I'm a seattle native, and I'm not too impress.

After checking out the Starbucks roastery and tasting room, we decided to go over to Serious Pie to see why so many people recommended it. Ordered the sweet fennel sausage pizza and was not disappointed. The pizza was delicious, I think the crust was what really made it good for me, and the environment, being next to the Roastery, was really unique. It is nice and cozy, with a little upscale feeling as one of the previous reviews mentioned. Only downside was the food was a bit pricey and a little on the salty side.

My review would have been 2 stars but for the fabulous space. The decor is interesting with fun light fixtures and it's right next to the Starbucks Roastery which is fun. So, why the poor review? Well the food was very mediocre. The salads were so salty they were barely edible, especially the panzanella. The pizzas were undercooked so that the cheese wasn't properly melted and the crust was blond with no crisp texture. Dessert was good but the portion of pistachio cake was pretty small. I have really enjoyed the other Serious pie locations so I hope the food at this one improves. Definitely not worth the money.

AH SO GOOOOOOOOOOODDDD dude serious pie is serious business. If you have a guest visiting, take them here, if you need a place to eat with friends, take them here. If you hungry.. GO HERE. The varieties of flavor they have is awesome, perfect if you have a vegetarian in the group. The options are really unique but work really really well on their pizzas. My favorite is this potato one, it was just soo much perfection. I want to come back and try the other flavors they have!! It was a lot of fun to share pizza flavors with friends

  • Mary H.

This pathetic excuse for a cheese pizza cost $17! It's bad enough that is not big enough to share between two people, but then they can't even put cheese on it. All it is is bread and tomato sauce. My ears are still ringing from how loud it is in there. If you like pizza, don't come here.

Ambience. A Service. A Food. A Price. A Ambience. A Opèned dec. 2014! This is the 2nd location for Serious Pie. Found inside the Starbucks bldg. Fabulous architect and atmosphere. Lots of windows and people watching. Cool open airy space. There's a bar to saddle up and eat and have drinks if tables are full. Service. A The hostess recognized me from a bar on the hill from 1.5 ago. That's amazing. Didn't knew I stood out! Very friendly chatting. The bartender , Catherine, was also friendly and knowledgable and recommended wines and food. A good hint. You can order your Starbucks coffee here but expect a long wait! Food. A I like the recommendation of getting the portobello mushroom pizza but adding the fennel sausage too. Very tasty. Nice rustic dough and crispy all the way through with nice balance if ingredients. Price. A Good quality and service! Worth paying for the experience. Pizza was $21 with the add-on. I love this place!

Made it here to try Starbucks Reserve and noticed the Serious Pie restaurant... After our delicious coffee decided to try... We were not disappointed at all!! My husband had a beer on tap, I tried the Watermelon Shrub, which was a sparkling drink made with vinegar, sort of nervous but boy was it great and refreshing. Now came out two pies... They were delicious‼‼A thin crust and we're just plain good‼‼ and it doesn't hurt that Serious Pie is right in the Starbucks!!

Great atmosphere, love the decor. And... potato/rosemary/pecorino pizza. Still dreaming about it. Lightest crust ever. Great spot for happy hour bevs and sharing a pie. YUM.

Wow. As far as pizza goes, this is as good as it gets. I had the fennel sausage pie. The crust was a little burnt, but it was still delicious. Thin crust, rich flavor and generous portions.

Such a great place to break pie with friends and have a couple pints. Beautiful take on pizza and the only challenge is that this place is small, so the open seating situation can be tricky. A Seattle favorite that I always try to check out in town. Recommended 100%!

I'd give 3.5 stars if I could. I just don't like the style of pizza at Serious Pie. I like this location, though. Compared to the other locations I like that we got our own table and didn't have to share it family style with strangers. I also liked that there wasn't a wait...maybe because it was a weekday or maybe because we were lucky! I had the truffle pizza and I'm a bit disappointed in Tom Douglas. I'd think a chef of his caliber wouldn't serve fake truffles that are really a chemical created in a laboratory. And although my pizza was pricey, it wasn't pricey enough that they used real shaved truffles. My snobbery aside, what I don't like about Serous Pie pizza is that it is too thin and crispy for me. I know it is its own thing and doesn't claim to be authentic Neapolitan style but I think good pizza (like in Italy) is thin, crispy, and chewy. I've never had that kind of pizza outside of Italy and was sorta hoping I'd find it here.

My party arrived first and ordered the chilled calamari salad. It was weird to me that the calamari was cold, so I didn't like it much. The pizzas turned out much better. My sister picked the roasted seasonal mushrooms & truffle cheese pizza because it was the only meatless option. The cousins and I chose a sweet fennel sausage, roasted peppers & provolone pizza and cotechino sausage, roasted garlic cream, nettles & shallots pizza. My least favorite was the roasted peppers pizza because it tasted too similar to original peperoni pizzas you can find at any pizza chains and wasn't anything special. The mushroom and roasted garlic pizzas were really good! They're both very unique and yummy. I love the toppings on both of these.

  • Kent L.

The pie itself is very tasty - seems they are using a thinner crust more like authentic Italian. Ingredients are always an interesting mix... Though the sausage and fennel pizza we had could have used some sauce / it was only cheese and oil which was a little plain. For appetizer had the roast duck - had a lovely smoked flavor and tender... the greens were especially tasty - had a lovely light and sprightly dressing. Unfortunately the service was a little off - the kitchen seemed to have forgotten our order and we had to watch others who arrived after us get served - was also hard to get a hold of the server to bring it to their attention. When they did finally figure it out to their credit, they gave us the pizza for free - so thumbs up for the service recovery.

We tried 3 pizzas; potato, mushroom with truffle cheese, and sausage. The mushroom one was a little bit disappointed since i did not really like the heavy mushroom taste. But I love the potato one because its lighter than the other two. All of us agreed that the sausage one is the best, a must try if you have a chance to go there! The menu seems a bit different from the other locations. The atmosphere of restaurant is really nice, but it is kinda hard to notice since it's inside the starbucks reserve. Great food, great service, would be better if it's a bit cheaper. Definitely would come back here and recommand to other friends!

This is the third Serious Pie and shares the same location as the Starbucks Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room at Pine and Melrose on Capitol Hill. Tom Douglas, restaurant empire builder, joins forces with Howard Schultz of world coffee domination - very fascinating union! After a brief round of the craziness surrounding the grand opening, it was good to detour for a late lunch on the Serious Pie side of things on 12/6/14. Same menu as the other locations in Belltown and SLU/Westlake. Friendly host and wait staff. Plenty of room for pairs, groups, and families with small children. Eye-catching light fixtures at the bar and main restaurant area. Large windows that provide proximate views towards Melrose Market, Mamnoun, Six Arms, and further up E.Pike. Love the large wood fire pizza oven. The pair of pizzaiolos were definitely 'serious' about the prep to final product, which brings me onward to the food ordered. We skipped any starters to focus on the premium pizzas and desserts that Serious Pie is known for. The husband ordered a Schilling Cider ($7), the soft cooked egg, prosciutto, pecorino sardo, and generous arugula pizza ($17), finally dessert was a three cheese cannoli with Northwest cranberries, Tcho bittersweet chocolate shavings and pistachios ($11). The kiddo ordered the Penn Cove clam, pancetta tesa, and lemon thyme pizza ($18) and a Serious root beer float ($8). Me - it was my usual sweet fennel sausage, roasted peppers, and provolone pizza ($17) and my favorite chocolate budino topped with Murray River salt and olive oil ($10). Overall delicious and a definite rare splurge (w/ tax and tip under $108). However, the timing needs to be improved a bit, hence the four Yelp stars only. The Schilling cider was forgotten, until reminded of it. It was nice of the wait person to comp it due to its delay. However, the wait to get a takeout box, our desserts, and our check was a bit lengthy. This was only the second day, so understandably it was hopping.

What a great combination of having this place inside the new Starbucks. Awesome decor throughout. Service was good. Started with the bruschetta. Very smokey paprika taste which was cut by the slice of lemon. I didn't love it but it was different. Ordered the pizza with soft egg, prosciutto, topped with arugula. Very difficult to eat as the arugula falls off. However it was a tasty pizza. The egg made it unique. All their pizzas are great.

Best pizza I have ever had. I usually don't like to eat the crust because it just fills you up, but this crust was so delicious! I ordered the sausage fennel pizza and enjoyed every bite. I wish there was more sausage on it though. The staff was very friendly as well. We also went during a slower time which probably was better. It's a nice location inside Starbucks reserve.

Pretty delicious pizza, as usual. Located right inside the Starbucks Roastery, this is a nice place for dinner in a cool building with good vibe and ambience. Grab some coffee at the roastery afterwards.

Decent pizza, good service. Clams were nice. Crust on the sausage pizza was a little too flimsy, I wanted something a bit toothier. I felt like a sellout eating inside a Starbucks but I guess that's my personal issue.

You can skip the ridiculously long touristy line to the Starbucks reserve if you are just heading in here for Serious Pie. Even then, there might be a smaller line to Serious Pie, but we got lucky today and didn't have to wait (it was around 6). My friend and I ordered the day's special pizza ( ~$18) and added sausage on it. It was the thinnest pizza with crust, nicely sliced and enough to share for 2 - We also got brussel sprouts appetizer, I think they added honey to it, and it went so well with the cheese that it was paired with. A must try for pizza lovers!

The pizza here is delicious. The service is always great and they have a little something for everybody. While your waiting you can visit the Starbucks roastery which is pretty much the willy wonka of coffee. My favorite pizza is the margarita.

Fantastic dough. Super helpful waitress, good beer selection, and ingredients on pizza were fresh and the combinations worked well. We had the clam (slightly spicy), mozzarella, sausage, and mushroom. All delicious. Share a pizza, only get one for yourself if you are very hungry.

Perfect sunny Seattle day to walk around Capitol Hill. Stopped in the new Starbucks Roastery which shares space with Serious Pie location #3. Was initially afraid the strong coffee aroma would infiltrate the restaurant area but no worries it actually works well as a shared space. Wifey and I tried the Yukon Potato pie as well as the Egg and Arugula one. Really fresh ingredients but crust was just ok. Seems more like flat bread than good quality thin pizza crust. If you are looking for a crispy outside with soft pillowy inside crust, you will not find it here. Sorry Mr . Douglas , but your friends at Tutta Bella's have your crust beat. You win as far as toppings and quality ingredients. The perfect thin-crust pie would be your toppings on their crust. Hmmm... Serious Bella's?

Best pizza crust I've ever had. (I had the buffalo mozzarella pizza) Second best cannoli I've ever had Delightful service!! I think it's really cool that they do "festival seating", you never know who you're going to be sharing a meal with and I like that it encourages community. Only downside I didn't realize when we decided to go there, it's inside the Roasterie. Soooo super loud from all the touristy folks. But a lovely experience no less!

DIdn't know they opened a new Serious Pie in the Capitol Hill area, but I'm glad we stumbled into this place! It's located inside the new Starbucks- the sign outside is kinda small. Pizza is just as delicious as any of the other Serious Pies. Fresh out of the oven, thin crispy crust. The hostess was a little slow and it took us a long time to get seated, so we ended up eating at the bar. None the less, both of our pizzas disappeared and we had a good bottle of wine to go with it!

Serious pie is attached to Starbucks roastery, so you get a 2 for 1 experience. Enjoyed the roastery stroll, a cup of latte, then headed over to Serious Pie to grab a fennell sausage (and with other ingredients in which I forgot) pizza. Liked the pizza because it was super thin crust. Toppings were just perfect balance without feeling like its too much meat or too much bread. Service was excellent.

Over rated expensive pizza. I could eat two of these things, easily, for $18 a pop, that's $36 for a pizza. I got the mushroom pizza, had to order a side of sauce, they didn't have enough red sauce pizzas in my opinion. The beer selection wasn't too bad, also, on the expensive side. I think for two people the total was $86 including tip, for pizza and beers, that's it. That's cray. If it was the best muther-f'in pizza on the planet I wouldn't mind splurging once in a while. My gf ordered the prosciutto which was buried in a forest of arugula, literally I had to mow the thing down before I could start to see the skimpy, semi-burnt crust with a fairy dusting of cheese. I also don't like when waiters try to take away your plate before you're finished, no matter how bad the food is. I PAID FOR IT! I"M GONNA EAT IT DAMN IT! The best part of the whole experience is we ran into the owners of May's Thai Kitchen (BEST Thai food in the world) and also the Starbucks factory was cool to look at. I'm going to write a review about that now.

It was my lil buggah's birthday and he wanted pizza. I'm particular about my food. When it comes to pizza I prefer NY style or Neapolitan pizzas the best. We were downtown and I was searching for a good place by looking at pics on Yelp! Bambino's caught my eye and I was read't to go. But, I remembered that many restaurants in the area aren't kid friendly and I didn't want to drive to Delancey's or spend time calling places to see if they allowed minors. So, knowing that Serious Pie was a Watson joint, I assumed the place would take kids. GPS led me to the spot, but the lack of parking led us 3-4 blocks away from the restaurant.....no biggie, I need the walk. We walked to Serious Pie and walked past it. We couldn't find it. I looked at the GPS and got my bearings and realized that Serious Pie is inside the Starbucks Reserve. Now, that is an awesome place on its own! The entire area is a foodie's dream neighborhood. It appeared that every restaurant was full. So anyway, once inside we were immediately seated. The staff is very attentive and nice. The choice of pizzas on the menu isn't overwhelming. I was looking for anchovies to have with a classic magherita, but I didn't see any mention of it. We got the soft egg/prosciutto/arugula, clam/lemon thyme, and buffalo cheese/basil/red sauce pizzas, two beers, and a lemonade for about $90. That seemed a bit much for pizzas that arrived at the table cold and worst of all was cracker thin. Too many bubbles that caused the toppings to slide to another side of the pie. The person manning or womanning the oven needs to pop dem bubbles. The prosciutto wasn't thin enough to be bitten and hold its place with some assistance from my fingers. I couldn't hold the prosciutto in place nor tear it with my teeth. It came by the mouthful when I tugged on it. I had to resort to cutting it in pieces in order to marry it with its compadres, soft egg and arugula, for me to taste them in unison. The arugula was plentiful. So much so, that I couldn't see how deprived the pizza was of prosciutto and egg. It appears they covered the pizza with the most inexpensive item on the pizza. They did the same for the magherita pizza, there was plenty of red sauce for me to dip my other pie slices into it once it dripped onto my plate. Tomato sauce was very good. The crust wasn't toothsome with elasticity, but crumbled from any bite I took. I like thin crusts, but this was way too thin. I'm a minimalist when it comes to toppings and I found myself wishing there was more toppings on the pizza. Saying this might mess up my pizza credentials, but I think a Mod pizza would have been better than this. Wish I went to Bambino's instead if I was gonna do new pizza.

Excellent neapolitan-style pizza. We had the margherita and the special. The flavor were wonderful. The crust on the margherita was...well-cooked; that happens on this style of pizza, but this was nearly too much. Despite that, the overall meal was excellent. Looking forward to going back.

I had eaten at the Serious Pie in Belltown in 2010. Great food but crowded and noisy and kind of spendy for the small pizza. A friend who I hadn't seen in 20? years wanted to meet up. He lives overseas and wanted pizza and suggested Capitol Hill where I live. I had to think and remembered Serious Pie had arrived in the hood. We planned a 2pm meeting. Two in our party arrived at 1:30pm and wondered about the LONG line but then discovered you could get immediate access if you're going to Serious Pie. Line was for Starbucks roastery tour (or something). Grateful for early arriving friends who put our name on a list for a table. Had quite a wait in the bar before a table was available but staff friendly and helpful plus our friends were lost. Address is confusing because it is right where Pike and E Pike meet. Address is 1124 Pike but Six Arms across the street is at 300 E Pike. We had 5 people and expected a 6th arriving late. We ordered two starters and 4 pizzas. Seemed like the right amount. Server said pizzas usually serve 1-2 people depending on how hungry you are. For starters we ordered the burrata cheese with charred brussels sprouts, fuji apples and pine bud syrup. It was delicious and what I am still thinking about 8 hours later. Also had the charcuterie board but I am veg so only had the cranberry spread on crostini. The pickled beets and apples were too pickly for my taste. For pizzas we had 1. seasonal mushroom (good but I wanted more mushrooms) 2. soft egg, prosciutto, arugula 3. fennel sausage 4. potato rosemary All pizzas were a hit and we ate every bite. Nice beer selection. A previous reviewer mentioned preferring this location to Belltown because you didn't have to share tables with strangers but there were two at the end of our table so I think it operates on same model. Space is lovely and looks out toward Melrose (overlooking Terra Plata and Six Arms across streets). Still in first month and between the Starbucks Roaster novelty and holidays the place was PACKED at 2pm on a Tuesday. Not a huge menu but I have always had good food at Tom Douglas restaurants. It is limited to may 5-6 starters ($10-15 each) and 5-6 pizzas (~$18 each), Maybe 5 desserts that sounded good but we didn't try. Still thinking about the burrata and brussels sprouts. Nice to have a Tom Douglas spot on the hill. Don't be deterred by line. Just tell door person you are there for pizza.

The food here was great, but the atmosphere at the Pike St location left a little bit to be desired. Situated inside the Starbucks Reserve, the ambience felt more like a hotel lobby than an upscale, gourmet pizza location. Nevertheless, the interesting pizza flavors and good service kept us satisfied and provided an excellent lunch experience.

Serious Pie is not serious, nor is it pie. It is a piece of dry flatbread with other toppings. There is NO sauce, barely any cheese and it is dry, dry, dry! I do not understand how or why so many people gave it good reviews. Obviously these people have not experienced "real" pizza. So sorry for you.

We were in the area and stuck because of traffic and my 7 yr old wanted pizza. Wife saw this place and the reviews and figure we would try it out. First off this place is not kid friendly. The menu is very limited. If you are going out with some friends to get some high priced tiny portions then this is definitely the place. Now on that the pizza we had was good but not good enough for the price and its size. We got one of the starters first, the charcuterie board and while it was OK i kind of expected more for the price $15. We got the sweet fennel sausage pizza. It was actually pretty good but it was nothing more than a soggy cracker thin crust with mostly sauce about 10 pieces of sausage and maybe a handful of cheese and peppers. At $17 i was not impressed especially since it was only about 8"x12" in size. On top of this i got a cola and my daughter a root beer. The cola wasn't very flavorful but the root beer was good but not $5 dollars good and it wasn't refillable for that price. When we left we were greatly regretting the expensive venture for what amounted to a couple of hors d'oeuvres.

I stopped by here on my way from an airport layover and had about 4+ hours on the clock so I stopped by here not knowing what I got myself into. Well ... if heaven had a name it would be called Pie... but not just any pie... "Serious Pie". This has to be the best wood oven crust I've ever eaten in the history of pizza places. The interior is glamorous and the bar is tasteful. Its got some funky hype dark corner indoor style to this place. Only thing that I didn't like would be the long lines, and the location. The Beer choices are outstanding and is much better than most casual bars I've come across.

Stopped by for dinner on a Friday night and we were pleasantly surprised that it was not crazy busy during dinner time. Our server was really friendly and recommended a lot of good drink options to go with our pizza. We were a party of four so we decided to sample four different pizzas and couldn't complain about any of them. The pizza crust is just right and not too bready like other pizza places. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and the friendliness of the servers. Oh and the sausage pizza has a spicy kick to it so go easy on sprinkling the peppers!

We called and ordered 3 pizzas, salad and gelato to go. We showed up 15 minutes later, and our order was ready to go! The server who helped us was friendly and efficient. She even made sure we had enough napkins for the kids. The food was excellent, especially the mushroom pizza and gelato. The location is also very cool.

We SERIOUSLY need one of these in LA. We ordered a beer, an old & bitter cocktail and two buffalo mozzarella pizza's, one with sausage. Everything was very good. The only reason they don't get the 5th star is that there aren't any gluten-free options.

This is an offshoot of Serious Pie & Biscuit on Westlake. I liked the environment, the food and the service. All top notch. Why 4* and not 5*? Because the menu does not have many healthy options (like Westlake one). But, if you go here the environment is great due to a factor that I will not disclose. Let it be a mystery.

Love the food! But the wait was ridiculous, had a party of 13 and they wouldn't take reservations so we waiting almost an hour just to be seated. The waiter was nice but super slow. All and all we were happy with our food cause serious pie is always the best pizza ever. This location needs a better beer selection.

Had a great dining experience at this new location. We split a salad and really enjoyed the fennel sausage and potato pizzas. Crust was excellent and the fennel sausage in particular is delicious. Creative craft beer and wine list and even a nice local cider for my non beer drinking wife. Dining next to the sweet smelling and entertaining roastery is an added bonus.

Solid performance. Two gripes: The wood in the oven appears to be for show. I tasted no wood flavor in my pizzas at all. For these prices I need to see more cheese. The service was great, the food was great, and I love the space. Had 4 pizzas, sausage, mushroom, moz/basil, clam. The Moz/Basil was the best I have ever had, and the sausage was the best sausage I have had in a very long time. I will be in again, but this will not be a regular thing. Anyone who prices a menu at substantially below 15% food cost (of every dollar we spend on pizza they spent 15 cents to buy the ingredients) as I am guessing they do here is going to have trouble getting my business because the value proposition gets dicey even if the product (food and service) is perfect. The happy hour price which works out to about 40 cents a bite I can however be comfortable with.

Great service from the bartender! We had a group of 5 and we each ordered a pizza to share so we could try different ones on the menu. It was so good we finished all 5 pizzas and then ordered 2 more. My favorites were the clam pizza and the buffalo mozzarella with added pepperoni that wasn't on the menu but the bartender let us know we could add to any pizza.

Happened upon as the family wanted to visit the Starbucks Roastery. Had no idea that a Tom Douglas restaurant was actually inside the Roastery. I've been to the one downtown and had to give the family a chance to try it. Food was exceptional as always for a Tom Douglas restaurant. There were two issues: 1. Most of the staff seemed lethargic, especially the kitchen. I'm sure if Tom saw this he would be extremely disappointed. I don't know how this can be fixed. 2. One of the side effects of having an open kitchen is that the customers can see the food sitting under the heat lamp. This is what happened to us. We ordered two pizzas and the first one was done and placed under the heat lamp ready for delivery to us along with three other pies. The others were promptly delivered but ours stayed under the lamp. We were scared that this was ours. We watched as this pie stayed under the lamp for almost ten min and then finally our other pie was done. The server promptly delivered our pies. Obviously we were not happy. We checked the pie with our fingers and thankfully it was still warm. I immediately asked the manager to come over and told her what happened and offered advice that they should deliver the pies as they came out. She apologized and after we finished she came by and comped our one pie and even gave us a slice of coconut cream pie. We weren't expecting this and it really was above and beyond. Great save by the manager. All in all, great food as usual, service started out poor but a wonderful save. Thanks to the team. Btw,we were there around 4:30 pm on April 10. We didnt get the mgrs name but wanted to make sure she gets the kudos.
