If I'm having a coffee kick and I'm at Greenlake, of course I walk past the Starbuck's and go head up to Revolutions. I've tried to study there a few times but it's not crisp and bright like the picture above. It's really dim inside, unless you can nab a table near the entrance. The coffee here is just...okay. It seems like the milk never gets steamed enough for a variety of drinks I've ordered. Lukewarm temp issues, or the cappuccino which ends up being a weak, foamy latte and then followed by a tolerable shot. Not sure where their coffee beans are from, but it has a really flat flavor. The baristas are ok too. They're definitely not rude, maybe withdrawn? So it's ok.

Revolutions is a mediocre coffee place, with tasty treats, and an interesting vibe/atmosphere. I went in the early evening, the service was okay, friendly, but not remarkably attentive. I'm not used to having the drink made before paying. Not a big deal but I like it the other way around more. Despite being an interesting space, the tables seem kind of scattered and spread out, it seemed like more could be done with it. The prices were average. This place has a lot of good reviews, so I'm sad to say I didn't enjoy my latte at all. It was mostly light foam and not very warm. If I lived nearby I would probably visit often, but probably won't be going out of my way from where I'm at.

I love this place. Much more cozy than the Starbucks around the corner (in a sparse warehouse sort of way), and their zucchini bread is so good. Great coffee, super-friendly baristas, across the street from the bus, and a fun ramp for the toddler to run down when we get there. If only Greenlake had more businesses like this...

Great coffee and decent prices. Their baked goods are really fresh and good. They have a nice, laid back atmosphere that is great for hanging out. I much prefer this place to the super-busy Starbucks and Peet's coffee. Only downside: they aren't open late.

I went at 8:30pm and they were closed. The hours posted should coincide with the hours the establishment is actually open. Luckily, good ole Starbucks was open next door and I was able to get my coffee before getting back to studying for finals.

My go to coffee shop in Greenlake. Skip the chains and go here.

Nice little funky space across from Gregg's. On a nice sunny day, this place can seem a little dark and dreary. I'm sure during the nice months out of the year here in Seattle, Revolutions is a nice place to satisfy your caffeine craze, but during the 3 months of sun, this place seemed kind of grim. Tucked away on the first floor on yet another condo building, the concrete floor and wall make for a nice industrial feel, but the fact that you're on the first floor of a condo building takes away from the charm. Another thing that takes away from the char is that fact that you have to grab a key and walk through a maze of hallways to get to the bathroom. On the plus side, I like the smell of laundry from the business next door. Oh yeah, they serve Herkimer Coffee which is always good!

I just moved to Green Lake and was wandering around and found this awesome coffee shop/bakery tucked between a chiropractic office and a sports store. Almost went into the Starbucks close by but decided to walk around and see if I could find some other place... and I'm glad I did! Really cool artwork up on the walls, quiet place (at least during the day when I was there), and great location. Oh and the Herkimer coffee was wonderful. Give it a try!

I dropped in for a quickie yesterday while the b/f stayed outside with the pooch. The double shot was smooth and delicious and so was the quickie. Just kidding. So was the friendly banter about goats.

Terrible coffee. It's never a good sign when you ask the barista "how are your cappuccinos?" and their response is "umm decent, I mean good I guess." I should have walked out right then but I ordered a cap and a small drip as a backup. They both tasted burnt and watery. I guess it's just part of the process of finding put where to find decent coffee in Seattle. They can't all be Vivace, Zoka, or Victrola. The brownie I bought was decent, so an extra Yelp star for that. Don't come here for coffee!

The coffee is awesome but my favorite part of this shop is the art. I love that they have new stuff on the walls all the time!

Don't be afraid to sit at the bar...everyone who works here is able to carry on conversation, are pleasant and they play music from their own library. This helps me out because I am not hip enough to find good music for myself. I'm far from a coffee connoisseur--all I drink is Americanos, which I imagine are hard to mess up--so this ranking is solely based on the fact that I can come here, chill out, get a pulse on the neighborhood and not have to worry about the Starbuck's crowd.

You'd think that being next to a beautiful body of water, such as a lake, would be inspiring to a non-franchise owner. Instead what you get is a cold, awkward, and rather bland space. The people who go here most likely routinely enjoy concepts such as Girls Gone Wild, Spring Break, or Dane Cook. The barista, who admittedly was nice, was extra greasy in the way he talked. He had a frat (from an '05 social) shirt on and I was afraid he would slip me something to make me a little too social (if you know what I mean). In addition, there was a strange tension between the frat/sorority types attired in Hot Topic Winter '08 who would show up dreaming of med/law school and the corporate condo owners who had already become jaded yet smug in their current commercial and habitual existence. The walls had vague references to 'revolution' from Malcolm X, to Che, and to Tupac. It reminded me of a dorm room. I was amazed there were no posters of Salvador Dali or Bob Marley (I might have missed it). I guess it was my fault going in, thinking that it would have some traces of 'revolutionary' activity, either in design, service, or clientele. But I think in this case revolutions means a cycle of more of the same.

I love this place. I come once a week for a few hours and use their free wifi -- the guys are nice and the coffee is good. The decor is acceptable, although I won't come in the summer, the space is a little cavernous and lacks natural lighting, but during our dark & dreary Seattle winters it is no problem. My only suggestion is that they start serving some savory food! Maybe a soup of the day or a simple sandwich or something! When I come to Rev's I come to settle in for a few hours and devote myself to whatever project needs to get done. After a few hours of work, a girl gets HUNGRY (a muffin certainly isn't going to cut it either)! They're actually cool with you bringing in a sandwich from the nearby Quiznos, but I'd much rather give them my money, not Quiznos. sheesh. Just give me a sandwich already.

Very cool ambiance. I love the chill feel of this place and all the funky paintings. The music is very fun also. It reminded me a bit of the library. We walked in and we were talking a little bit. We look around and there is no sound around, and a guy kinda looks over at us. Hey, it was our first time there, we didn't know that we were supposed to use our "inside voices." anyways, my soy mocha was very good and my chocolate chip cookie was absolutely delicious. I normally love the noise and commotion of a coffee house, but this place did allow me to get a lot of reading done, and it was very serene. i would definitely come back here to get things accomplished. ;)

A great place to stop after a run or walk around Green Lake if you don't want to wait for 27 years at Starbucks. Also, the drinks and pastries are much better too! I had some delicious and moist zucchini bread on my first visit. Also, my short latte was done just to my liking. Revolutions is tucked between Title Nine and Road Runner and has outdoor seating that I'm looking forward to using when the weather warms up.

  • Cody H.

My favorite coffee place in Seattle. To clarify it is close to my house on my way to work, but every time I go there I leave in a better mood. Even when I'm happy I leave happier. Some of it due to the caffeine and some due to Phil and his staff. Excellent food and a really cool place to chill out for a minute. Every time I have someone from out of town come in, its a place that is always visited. With that being said I do believe that it does rate 5stars, but nothing is perfect and to not mention something that could make it better would be unfair. The only thing that could make it better would be the bathroom location. Its down a long hallway and its one of those bathrooms that is shared with multiple businesses.

Been here once, the muffins were AWESOME, and the espresso was tasty. Gotta go back and give them a more well-rounded try...

I really wanted to like this place. It's literally a minute's walk from our front door, even closer than Charbucks (which we try to avoid, since my husband is big on quality coffee), and the outdoor seating looked very inviting on a sunny day. However, when we actually walked in--it felt like we were entering a deep, concrete cave (it felt very gray), and the counter was all the way at the back, under dim lighting. We walked down the steps--the only other customers there (a weekend) were laptop zombies, and there was no chatter going on whatsoever. It felt lonely. We finally got to the counter, waited for someone to show up (it took a couple of minutes of standing there), looked for a menu--there was none--and finally ordered our drinks off the top of our heads (there were very few pastries left at that point). We sat down on some semi-comfy couches in one corner and started talking--but the music was super loud and kind of weird, and my dad (who's older) had a hard time hearing what we said. He felt very uncomfortable there, like the place was too "modern" for him and that he didn't belong. The abundance of gray concrete walls and industrial feel really got to me, I don't know why. It just all felt so open and empty... no cozy spaces to settle in with one's drink and talk. So while I'd love to give this place a better ranking, since I know they really ARE trying to bring people in, and they're right next door to us--I honestly feel like they need to make the place more visually appealing and cozy somehow. Maybe throw in some standing screens between table areas, to break up the huge cave-space a bit more... something to give people a little more space of their own. That's a big part of what makes a coffee shop hum, to me. I'm glad that other reviewers liked it more than we did, though, because those will be their return customers, and they're going to need them.

Great space, great staff, secure wireless (nice!). This place would get 5 stars, no doubt, if it had its own bathroom. Having to grab the key-on-a-stick (still damp from the last person who used it, fingers crossed that it was damp from freshly-washed hands...) and wander around the back halls of the building looking for the bathrooms is a bad look, especially if you're planning a multi-hour caffeine binge and work session, and the multiple bathroom trips associated therewith.

I'm going to have to come back here, coz my first outting didn't add up with the reviews I've read. The coffee was pretty good; the guy who made it was a riot, but charged me $13 for two standard 16 oz drinks. He was cracking himself up so much he forgot he already entered one and just kept going. I figured it was just super-expensive but checked later and nope, he musta charged us for three drinks. Anyway, I really wanted to love this place. But what should've been a cool and hip urban cave was just cold and dirty-looking. I thought there'd be baked goods, but there were only three sad cookies on a shelf, and the rest of the case was empty and showing a lot of wear and tear. I kinda wish there were more large tables and convenient outlets for working, but what they have is still pretty adequate, I'd say. I'm going to give them another shot before I write them off entirely...The coffee was definitely worth going back for. I hope maybe I just saw them on "let's empty the walls and cabinets and tables to prep for cleaning" day.

Revolutions saved my neighborhood! I recently moved here and for a while thought my only choices were Peets and Starbucks. Needless to say I was quite depressed and sad about my lack of choices in this area (um, coffee @ these aforementioned places range from raunchy to barely passable for me) until I walked by this hip, yummy spot tucked away. Love this place! Wonderful baked goods MADE ON SITE, REALLY good coffee, free wi-fi, plug-ins everywhere, great music is always playing, friendly, relaxed vibe, big, open space, board games if you are looking for something to do. I *only* wish their couches were a tad more comfy, but then I might just have to move in!

Revolutions is the neighborhood coffee haunt you've always wanted to be a regular at! I'm not kidding you these guys will remember your name and your drink on your third visit, but they'll make you feel like a regular on your debut appearance. It's a funky, minimal vibe especially refreshing after spending many a Saturday morning fighting for an open table squeezed in three inches away from the fellow patrons at Starbucks or Peets. They've got concrete floors, local art and great pastries all presented with genuine enthusiasm! Cafe Vita is the coffee which I hear is the best. OK - confession - I don't even drink coffee! That's how good this place is: I love it and I don't even like coffee!

The baked goods are their shining star. Coffee is good. Space is great when their music isn't way to loud and "edgy" for me. Staff is friendly.

This is one of my favorite places to stop at the end of a bike ride - just a few flat minutes from home with great coffee and yummy baked goods. A little dark inside, but the seats are comfortable and the atmosphere is welcoming. Baked goods such as scones are one of my favorite foods and Revolutions does them right. I like that the selection changes, but the baristas are always willing to tell you about everything.

When I lay awake at night crying myself to sleep, I pray to a god whom no longer exists that in the morning this coffee shop will serve me as they have the day before. In my crippling depression after realizing that many of the coffee shops suck in Seattle to a greater degree in most cases than grandma Bean's drive threw eXpresso in bfe n.Dakota I found myself deep in the thralls of a Prozac induced drug haze searching late into the whore filled Roosevelt nights hungry for a fix. It wasn't until an angel smiled upon for a brief moment one fateful day that I found the haven that inspired me to give up my habits of stalking fit cougars running around the lake of emerald moss and riding duck tours around the city hoping to find the mythical cli... espresso bean of joy. I was following a runner around the lake and thought I would see if I could stand in line next to her when she went to get her daily frappuccino, but she ran passed the s.buck and ducked into the running store. Not wanting to be noticed I found a door nearby as some dirty hipsters were walking out with personalized coffee mugs and crossed the street to jobs where I can only assume that their only joy is found by the demoralization of inquisitive ignorant yuppies that come into their bike shop to look at hybrid bicycles. I took refuge, and upon entering I felt a wave of calmness wash over me. I no longer wanted follow women in short shorts home and hide in their bushes. I no longer needed to go back to the pipe and my failed attempts at freebasing anti-depressants mixed with speed. For a moment I felt as if Jesus was touching me in a very special way. It tickled, but I liked it. That was the first time that Phil lent me his nuts for the bathroom. I've been back every day since, even after having been asked to leave repeatedly by staff and customers alike. I really like it a lot here. Thank you for your delicious beverages. You made me the super hero I am today.

Soo much better than Starbucks, which is down the block. Its got an urban feel to it inside.Free wi-fi. Great coffee and pastries. Friendly baristas. Huge space thus it does feel a little empty/cold.

  • Josh B.

The coffee is good. The wi-fi is great. Maybe it's more of a morning spot, but the last two times I was there, they closed early 7:30PM. I really like this place but I don't get home in time to enjoy it. I guess I'll have to go to Zoka instead :-(

Simply the best coffee experience you will find in Seattle. The latte is made to perfection every time. The ambience is very Seattle slick. There is always amazing music. Free wireless. And, oh my god, the baked goods!!!!! If you have not had the sherry cake, you have truly not lived. If they don't have that the zuchini bread is amazing as well. But what really sets this place apart is the staff. Phil, Scott and Damon are just amazing. You will not leave this place without becoming their friend. AND they will remember you when you come back. Their support staff, Michelle, Jay and gang are equally fun. Besides, Michelle is sooooo cute.

I want to like Revolutions, I really do...location, location, location! But sadly, that's pretty much all they've got going for them. it's a decent set up, tho a total cave...and in a city like Seattle, and in an area like Greenlake, who wants to subject themselves to that for mediocre coffee?!- I'm being nice, the 4 times I've had it both my partner and I have noticed the absolute lack of skill on the part of the barista...she foamed the crap out of our milk and it still managed to be lukewarm, bitter most likely due to the machine not being cleaned, and bland tasting at the same time. The crowd felt and looked a little too suburban for my tastes as well, and there's a serious funk about the place- it smells like a locker room-kinda moist and moldy. Not to mention that the last (and final) time we went, the girl steamed our lattes to lukewarm, and then when I very nicely pointed it out, she OFFERED TO RESTEAM IT. Um, hello, health department? Hello, barista police? I was not expecting Vivace (or even Voxx, Cugini, Vita, etc) by any means...but we're talkin about the skill level of an espresso cart at a hospital here. No bueno.

Honestly, I was a little scared to walk into this place because of it's location but, it has become my favorite place to chill out and surf the web from my laptop. The Coffee is hella strong and the staff is super nice. They even invited me to party with them. How awesome is that? Viva La Revolucion, amigos!

SO, I have come to terms with the fact that I am a stroller mom. you know, the one that hauls her huge a** stroller into the coffee shops, grabs a coffee to place in her coffee holder..and then walks the lake? Before I had kids, I frequently was annoyed by the brigades of mommys blocking my way as I tried to run the lake. But, now, I get it. You need to get out of the house to spare your sanity, and going for a coffee feels like a little piece of your old self, right? well, I cant tell you how many times I have struggled with my stroller in the Greenlake Starbucks..bumping into everyone else and their big strollers...and I dont even like Starbucks coffee. Now, after I have discovered this place, I will never go to Starbucks again. Revolutions has GOOD coffee, good baked goods, a huge space, great stroller access and the reason for my writing this review, one of the best baristas ever. This guy is so so sweet and genuine. I wanted to tell him how much I appreciate his good natured self today when I was in there, but I thought I might embarass myself and flubber the words. It is so refreshing to come across people like him, especially in the coffee culture that is Seattle. I like alot of baristas, but there are just as many that carry an attitude. go here! highly recommend. not another stroller in sight!

  • Nic B.

A little bit of an industrial feel, but that is offset by the great seating, tastefully arranged. The pastries are good, so is the coffee (I'm told), and the baristas are friendly. There was a really cool series of salmon fishing photos up behind the counter when I went. The art is not outstanding, but is enjoyable. Great location so close to Greenlake.

I think I've been supporting Rev's for about five years now....and they get better and better every year. They take pride in their product and service and the atmosphere is sweet too. I wouldn't say I'm a coffee snob or anything, but I am a pretty cliche Seattle coffee drinker (i.e. I like my coffee). This place is by far my coffee shop of choice in Seattle....they're just that good!

  • Danielle S.

Unbelievable! this has to be THEE BEST COFFEE in the continental U.S! Mosied on up to seattle for a vaycay and happened upon the cities biggest secret! The coffee is outstanding and those rare reviews on yelp need to steer away from their comfort of drip and open their taste buds to REAL coffee! The customer service was beyond belief, isn't this the 20th century where chivalry has died and good old fashioned politeness has disappeared? not at this shop. I felt like I was known all my life :-) I was welcomed with open arms and genuinely felt apart of the family. The pastries are so yummy and actually made on site every morning, so rare these days. The helpings are gigantic and well worth the 1979 price for such quality and quantity. I noticed a review say the counter was small? This is a very large cozy shop and the counter actually wraps around to include a bar, which you can just grab a seat and be served without standing at the register. I can see how the large counter can be overseen as the shop is so impressive, everytime I went I saw something new. I have to mention that the size of this shop is huge with lots of comfortable couches and chairs, amazing decor, lighting is perfect and unlimited FREE wifi! The breakfast sandwiches are delish and worth the 8 minute wait for absolute freshness! Hell if I were running late I'd make that phone call and have it waiting for me when I got there :-) The location is great too and right near the lake, I would highly recommend you walk the additional 2 minutes to Revs then settle for mediocre Starbucks. All in all this coffee shop is high end with the layout inside and the quality of their offerings is 6 star! Don't let the minority steer you away from the best Cup of coffee in Seattle!

Great little cafe, love the decor and best of all....it isn't a carbon copy of Starbucks! They serve Caff Vita coffee and have sumptuous bakery goods to choose from. The barista was a little slow the last time I went but maybe he was distracted by the cute guys at the far table.

My first visit yesterday was a good one. I spent about six hours working and meeting with a few people. The atmosphere was pleasant, the tea and coffee was good, and the cookie was excellent. My only comment is that one of the staff members was a little less than attentive - the others were ok.

  • nadia m.

I don't know why other reviewers complained about the space, I think it was better than a lot of other coffee places. It was rather crowded though, not enough seating areas for single people, too many tables that were too large. I know, I know just share a table, but sometimes that can be awkward. Nice seating areas outside set amongst nice plants as opposed to other places that fence you in like cattle.

Located immediately next to Road Runner Sports by Green Lake, Revolutions Coffee was a great discovery. I was surprised at the friendliness of the baristas - they made me feel so welcomed to be there! The latte was very smooth, though a little lacking in flavor. I also tried the blueberry scone, the maple scone, and the coffee cake (I was there with friends - I wasn't THAT hungry); the scones were a bit too dry, but the coffee cake was wonderful. The atmosphere was very chill; concrete floors, cool artwork, good lighting, and great music.

Ok, I'm biased b/c it's in my neighborhood, but I still love them. Really good coffee and good pastries (all baked on premises except for the bagels). Extremely friendly staff.

Coffee is middle of the road, and ambiance is something between a Men's room in a Greyhound station, and a waiting lounge at a morgue. Plus, WTF is with the wireless code (WEP key) on little schnibbles of paper? Mainly, this place is gloomsville, and in a place with Seattle weather, I don't need it. Only plus is that it's not a Starbucks.

  • Maria C.

What the hell have I been thinking, going to Starbucks when I'm at Greenlake? This is the best place to get coffee at the lake and maybe even in the city. You can't go wrong with Caffee Vita coffee and it's serve up with a swirly flourish here. I like the ambience with the concrete floors, artwork on the wall and comfy leather chairs. I like that they bake their pastries right there and I'm in love with zucchini bread. Oustanding baristas, hip vibe, but not too hip so oldsters like me feel comfortable. I love this place.

    (5)
  • Kristin S.

This place still feels clean while maintaining a non- commercial vibe. I enjoy their coffee AND their pastries. It remains a little sterile however, and somehow I feel hasn't come into it's own entirely. Because not too many people go here the wireless is really fast.

great pastries, good baristas, and a laid back place to study/work/meet friends. this is how coffee shops should be, and i only wish we had more of this type of cafe in seattle. like anywhere that's not a chain where corporate perkiness is required, the service varies on who is behind the counter (i've seen people walk out the door because the barista disappears to who knows where, but i've never encountered *bad* service).

I wanted to mix it up with my coffee experience so I decided to roam Yelp and I found Revolutions. Overall take on this place, it's a quaint neighborhood coffee shop that serves good coffee and has excellent service. Rating breakdowns are as follows: Service: 5 Food/Beverage: 4 Atmosphere/Ambiance: 5 Service: The barista was really friendly when I walked in and even tried to make some small talk with me. Although I wasn't in the most talkative of moods, he was very kind and it felt good to get such personable service. Food/Beverage: The coffee they feature here is from Herkimer Coffee. I gave this place a 4 simply because I didn't do the usual thing I normally do and order just black coffee when trying new places (I had my sweet tooth game going today). That being said I have tried Herkimer Coffee and I do like their roasts and blends. I ordered a standard caramel latté and one thing I appreciate about the barista is that they use real caramel instead of the syrup. Personally I feel the later is much sweeter and can often overpower the espresso in the drink, but overall my drink was very good. They serve pastries and some breakfast sandwiches here as well. Atmosphere/Ambiance: Revolutions is tucked away from the main drive around Greenlake, so the noise isn't an issue. Walking in, I was really impressed by the feel I got from this place. It is very open and it feels like a place I'd come to relax or get some work done. There was a French Club meeting here, so they were playing some French music but it wasn't loud and I thought it was cool that you could have such a large gathering and still feel like your relaxing in your living room. TLDR: Excellent neighborhood coffee shop with a good amount of outlets, has excellent coffee, friendly staff, and the vibe of relaxing in your living room.

This is a great place to study or read, which is one of the primary reasons why I patronize coffee places. There is a TON of space, plentiful outlets, and a variety of seating types - comfy couches, big tables, etc. The coffee is very good, the staff are very friendly.

  • Lucy L.

A coffee place that's solid all around. Good drinks, good prices, good location, good atmosphere, and good wifi. The one thing I didn't like was the bathroom, which is a maze to get to. On top of that, there's only one key, which I think is silly since there were 2 stalls in the women's bathroom, and I presume there were also 2 in the men's. Another customer and I waited and chatted outside the bathroom for 10 minutes before just giving up and leaving (we thought we heard someone inside when we first got there, but by the time we left it was slient). Making new friends is fun, but i would prefer to do it when I don't have to go.

This surprisingly spacious hole in the wall has been here for at least a decade, yet still looks charmingly like it opened three months ago and hasn't quite been fully set up. Paying Greenlake rent for that long is a damn achievement in itself, so you know he's good at what he does. The dude behind the counter must be an owner-operator, because he has been here EVERY SINGLE time I've been there. He is cheerful and friendly and I - way up on the introvert scale - actively enjoy when he engages in banter. The pastries are the best in the hood. The coffee is good. The personality is what sets the olace apart. For the love of God, don't give your coffee dollars to Starbucks; walk a half block, come to Revolutions, and support actual human enterprise.

I would give Revolutions a solid 3.5 stars! I visited this establishment on a early Sunday morning to study with a friend. I ordered an Americano and pumpkin bread. The Americano was great -- the coffee was robust & rich! However, the pumpkin bread was far too sugary for my taste and had absolutely no pumpkin taste. I wondered if it was my coffee that was sugary, but I don't put any sugar in it so that's impossible. It literally tasted like I ate a block of sugar with my coffee. I'm definitely willing to give this local coffeeshop another chance! I love the ambiance - lot's of great space to study and it doesn't get too crowded. The staff is also very friendly! Visit this coffeeshop if you are in the area!

Good coffee, good people, quiet, and couches! I love coffee shops with a lot of cozy seating, because I like to spend long hours reading and working comfortably. Yes, they do allow dogs in here, and I love that. :D

This is by far the best coffee in Greenlake. On top of that, the staff is amazing. They are super friendly. Go there a few times and they will remember your name and drink and have it started for you as you walk in. Pro tip: buy a card of 10 drinks to get a discount and also save pulling out your wallet every trip.

Love this place. Such a great coffee spot in Greenlake with yummy treats. Great owners and great employees too! I love their pumpkin and zucchini breads.

I love that this place it's quite for reading, studying and I think you can focus more on your task. It's shocking that the have AC on all the times, but love it; I get a bit hot after drinking a few cups of tea/coffee. I also appreciate the idea of bringing my pooch inside I almost feel like I'm at home relaxing on the sofa. Their pastries are pricey, but are way tastier than that other place in my opinion and worth every penny. Most importantly, their WIFI works properly; very spacious and accommodating for whatever you choose to do when you enter. I'd like to point out coffee refills and hot water for your tea and the genre of music depending on who's behind the counter varies, but still relaxing I highly recommend Revolution Espresso & Bakery. Holla!

This is a regular place my running group hang out after Saturday morning run. The coffee shop is really accommednating and friendly to us every Saturday morning. Most of the time, we pretty much occupy half of the shop. Well, on the other hand, we bring in some good business :-) I am not really a coffee drinker, but I always get a large tea here. Of course, they have selections. Most of the time, I get peppermint. They also have really good hearty bread. I love the "end" piece for the burning part. They don't mind if I pick through the window. Though, most of my runner friends order their egg sandwich for post run breakfast. I bet it must be good!

I came here after a Sunday morning run around Green Lake so the place was pretty empty. Great place to get some work done with good coffee, free wi-fi, lots of tables, accessible outlets, and no crazy loud music going on in the background. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. I'm not sure about the parking situation as I was able to find free street parking on a Sunday right outside.

I cannot believe I haven't Yelped Revolutions before. This is the BEST coffeehouse in Greenlake. The baristas are friendly and make great coffee. The pastries and breads are amazing - handmade there every morning. Phil is a gem, knows everybody and their drink. My daughter adores him and he always acknowledges her and makes her feel welcome - in fact all of the baristas do. I admit to being intimidated the first time I was there, thought I might be too old and them too hip, but they're all awesome. Skip the lines everywhere else. Seriously.

I rarely post reviews but this place is worthy. I've lived 200 feet away for three years and never stopped in. It's the best coffee shop in the area - no question. Good tunes, great tunes and Phil is always enjoyable to interact with. The kind of place where people are interacting rather than looking down at their phones the whole time. Cool place

I love a good cup of coffee and I'm ABS - Anything But Starbucks. Came in here last Saturday because my son had a basketball game at the local community center. Ordered my usual drink - a double americano - and it was excellent. Very good coffee. Baristas were nice and friendly. Recommended

Friendly people, delicious coffee, music variety is interesting and at a volume that keeps it audible yet conversations at normal levels still are enjoyed at the plentiful and well-spaced tables...and after months of not getting in here, Phil still remembers my name. Truly what I want a coffee shop experience to be. Love this place.

Great spot for a mocha or latte. They have a delicious cheesy croissant that saved my ass one morning. Stop here all the time before or during work. Customer service is A++, friendly and prompt with a smile. Free internet and lovely decor.

Revs is my fav! I go here almost every Friday with a group of friends for what we call "Friday Morning Coffee Club" or FMCC. Phil, the owner, knows my name and my drink (which I know is standard for coffee places, but it seemed like he knew it the second time I came in and how you remember that many names and drink orders- I don't know) Anyway, I love their homemade goodies. The chocolate chip cookies are soooo good. If you have a chance to try their carmel rolls in the winter, YOU MUST! They are beyond delicious. My husband likes their breakfast sandwiches and their cherry cordial cake. Oh, and the coffee is good too! Revs - Try it, you'll like it!

Guy came in with his dog about a half an hour ago. Baristas didn't say a peep. Obviously not a service dog. Great. I guess I'll have my doppio espresso with a side of asthma and follow it with a call to the health department for dessert. I love animals, but seriously, your pet is not more important than public health, dude.

Revolutions is a great place to quickly hydrate and grab a snack after a couple hours of lounging at Greenlake or running a couple loops. The interior is cool and dimly lit, lending it a cavelike feel. Tables and couches are widely spaced out and they have a stack of games for your enjoyment. The baristas who work there are friendly and adorable -- when I asked for a mango smoothie and one of them accidentally made me a strawberry one, she gladly gave us the strawberry one for free AND made another mango smoothie (both of which were delicious, by the way), no questions asked. I think they have free Wifi so this would be a great place to chill and study.

I moved to green lake almost 4 years ago and stumbled into revs one day and have been a daily regular since. They have great service, coffee, and baked goods. Phil, the owner, is their every morning and makes the best cappuccino. Another this I love about this place is how friendly everyone is. If you have a routine like me, every morning i go in and see the same friendly faces and have built great friendships and community through this shop. Much love. If you are in the neighborhood swing in.... if you live in the neighborhood, this should be your goto coffee shop!

Not the place if you need a big table, but it's got great comfy chairs for reading and fantastic music. The menu is coffee plus. You can find great smoothies and food. Definitely a hidden gem.

At this point on the Greenlake loop, there are several coffee shop options: Forza, Starbucks, and Peet's to name a few, but often they are quite busy and loud. What I perceived as an alternate option, Revolutions, may now be my new favorite. Only a block away from the lake, Revolutions was pleasantly significantly less crowded, larger than I expected, much quieter and overall offered a great coffee / study experience. Drinks: your typical options. For a 12 oz coffee, you can get a drip for $1.82, a latte for $3.35 and a mocha for $3.85. They still had iced coffee in winter too! Other drink options include hot tea (about 10 flavors), hot cocoa, chai and fruit smoothies. Free self-serve water. Food: they have multiple bakery items which I haven't tried, but look great. Ambiance: large open space with at least 15-20 small circular/square tables plus seating at the coffee bar. A couple of more comfortable chairs are mixed throughout. There is plenty of cool artwork on the walls, for purchase if you like. Alternative-type music in the background, but low volume. Staff: very friendly. They have simple syrup and honey behind the counter if you ask too. Free wifi. Parking in the Greenlake neighborhood. Overall, a new favorite for me and a great place to get some work done.

Cafe by Green Lake. Lots of space but not a ton of tables. Luckily not crowded so finding a table near an outlet wasn't terribly difficult. I didn't pay too much attention to the bakery items (nothing stood out). Friend got a pesto cheese roll which was microwaved for heating up (I prefer an oven). Lady working there was friendly and accommodating. My Americano tasted great. Free wifi. Not loud. Music wasn't bad and thankfully not blasted at an annoyingly noticeable level. Would go again for studying!

Very good coffee. Revolutions is a concrete cavernous space with funky art and limited food items. Lots of room to hang out, but it has a cold feeling to me. I would like it if I was going there to work on my laptop..... good low lighting for that!

I'll admit that I moved to Seattle to have the quintessential grad school experience which I thought involved wearing sweaters in the fall, shopping for groceries at the farmer's market, and hanging out with my hip, artsy friends at my local coffee shop (yeah, I watched Singles a lot in high school). My reality may actually differ, but I do feel really blessed to live two blocks from Revolutions. When I belly up to the counter, I'm greeted by name. Phil (barista extraordinaire) asks if I want my usual "Kim special" - a non-fat orange latte. The pastries are baked on premise and are amazingly delicious from the zucchini bread to the O.M.G. "crack cake". I can shuffle back to bed, or I can sling my laptop onto one of the tables and get to work. The wifi is steady and I can work uninterrupted for hours. If I need a break, the lovely baristas are happy to whip me up something and chat for a few minutes. As I love to tell my non-Seattle family, I live literally within 5 blocks of at least 10 coffee shops, including several chains, and I *always* prefer Revolutions.

Me and My hubby are big fans of this coffee shop, probably the best around the green lake area. Although it is tucked underground but the place is well designed and very cozy. I love their coffee and limited pastries. I also enjoying the art displayed on the walls and it keeps shuffling every month. I think this is my coffee shop around the green lake area!

  • Linda C.

I love this place! The bakery items are made in-house and you can tell because they are piping hot out of the oven in the morning. The coffee is a great blend that is special to the shop. They are friendly to cyclists too. A great place to start your weekend ride.

  • R R.

I moved to Greenlake recently and, after trying a few of the coffee shops in the area, have settled on Revolutions as my go-to. Phil's an amazingly nice guy, makes great coffee, and does it quickly. The trifecta. Also there are interesting things to look at on the counter and walls while you endure your brief wait time. Not much else to say - if you are ever in Greenlake, you really should go here.

3.5 stars. Sunlit, spacious cafe in Greenlake with a boho/artsy vibe. Plenty of seating, friendly staff who make great drinks - enjoyed a perfectly well-made cafe au lait within minutes of closing on a Sunday evening. Have attended a mixer here before as well, and staff was very accommodating.

    (3)
  • Anita U.

This cafe boasts great coffee, fun atmosphere, ever changing awesome art shows and friendly staff! All that is awesome but what rocks beyond any other coffee shop is the baked goods! Everyday the goodies are baked in the wee morning hours lovingly and religiously! It makes such a difference to have scratch baked items fresh out of the oven that morning rather than the night before! Ps. Go early! The family recipe super awesome cookies sell out quickly!

Out shopping for some new running shoes for the hubby and trying to save a trip for post-shopping coffee we popped in to Revolutions on a whim. The space is awesome...very spacious, cool and laid back. The counter was very small, which surprised me...how could they handle a crowd? Only enough room for one person back there. After I tasted the coffee it dawned on me...they don't have that problem. While completely cool space and location the coffee just sucked. Not quite sure if it was the beans, the chocolate or the barista, as I couldn't drink enough of it to decipher. I actually ended up tossing it and grabbing a Starbucks coffee at a local grocery store...yeah. Yuck.

  • Deborah B.

The people are the best here - I stop in every morning for a triple latte that is usually waiting for me by the time I walk from the door to the counter! Phil and the gang are welcoming and have created a loose sense of community here. The pastries are the best in town and deliciously homemade - a claim that not many can make. Stop in here for a friendly and vibrant vibe without the hype.

Tasty smoothies, lots of seating (inside and some out), and it's... super wheelchair friendly? I can dig it! I haven't been drinking much coffee since classes ended, but I do love myself some tasty cold drinks. I started off by finding out that they no longer make Italian Sodas (they should vanish from the menu board soon), but they did have delicious sounding smoothies available. Choices were strawberry, mango, or a combination of the two. I did the combo and it was perfectly tasty. I was also hungry and not in the mood for finding "real food" elsewhere, so I went for the giant chocolate chip cookie. It was a bit low on the chocolate and a bit dry around the edges, but otherwise it was quite good. The space: I was surprised by how BIG it is. There are a couple of lounging couch areas and plenty of tables. I was there for a long while, and most of the customers either dropped in to grab a cup of coffee on the go or lingered for hours on their laptops. There are also a few tables outside, which is always nice on pretty days. So the wheelchair accessible bit (because for some reason it really stood out to me)- When you enter there are a few steps, but off to the right there is also a ramp. The bathroom is is down a hallway with a couple of turns, but it's all sloped and seems to have been made with wheelchairs in mind. I'm not quite in love yet and need to try the coffee, but I definitely liked the place.

Met up at this place for a meeting and have to say that this is a great coffee shop. Friendly and attentive baristas that can make a decent mocha. I love the decor and plenty of places to sit. If I was in the area more often I would definitely make this my regular place to hangout or get work done. They are also dog friendly which is really awesome! :)

    (4)
  • Laura C.

This place has a great cozy, artsy vibe and the best part is that dog friends are welcome! The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because there aren't many food options (sandwiches would be nice) and the cappuccino I had tasted kind of burnt...after having daily cappuccinos in Italy, maybe I'm biased though. If you're wondering, the fruit smoothies are awesome!

  • London B.

The people who work here are so awesome! One of the nicest barista experiences of all time and that's not just hyperbole. Plenty of seating, great location, and wonderful lattes. I wish that I lived closer so that I could become a regular. Oh well, this will be my go-to coffee spot when in Green Lake.

I have mixed feelings about this place after returning recently for some Sunday midday studying. My chai latte was very spicy, not sweet at all - not really my thing, but if you like spicy chai then this is your place. I should have stuck with the espresso. I think this Revolutions also falls short in a couple ways as a study locale. Here's my updated breakdown: Pros: - Ample table & sofa chair seating - Lots of outlets - Free Wifi - Great espresso - Fresh baked goods - Dog-friendly! Cons: - Small table size (only a couple of large tables where you can spread out) - Dim, low lighting not good for reading - Music that is a bit too loud/fast-paced for a coffee shop, IMO - Bathroom is all the way down an external hall and requires a key for access - Limited evening hours While I was there the music was switched every other song, like the staff couldn't decide if they wanted Miley Cyrus or country and kept going back and forth. It was distracting and irritating.

Came here because our favorite Green Lake cafe, Bottega Italiana, was leaving and we needed to find a place to fill the void. We already had coffee so we got some of their coffee cake. It was pretty darn good and that's coming from a girl without much of a sweet tooth. The coffee shop was extremely spacious and had board games for patrons. We'll definitely have to come back and try their coffee before I can determine if we'll be regulars.

  • Julie S.

I want to be a fan... I really do. I love the weekday morning barista. He has probably the best customer service I have experienced in a coffee joint in a very long time... refreshing. I like the urban feel of the place, the fact that it has board games, sofa seating as well as tables... I just need stronger coffee. I don't think I should have to order an extra shot to taste my coffee in an already double-shot tall. Maybe it's just me, because very few places in this city seem to manage a latte where the coffee comes through the milk. This never was an issue in the late 80's , early 90's... what happened?? This is by far the best independent in East Greenlake, with great service, nice atmosphere, and good overall feel... I just need stronger, tastier coffee.

Mmmmmmmm black coffee & pumpkin bread. I love this coffee shop and wish I could have brought it home with me! The staff were super duper friendly and personable. Prices are great, atmosphere is chill, it's nice and big, a great neighborhood coffee shop. Pastries are delicious, I recommend the pumpkin bread. And they also support local artists, A+ for that! Stop in and give them your business.

Ugh, not too impressed by this place. The environment was good for studying but that was about it, which is why it got 2 stars instead of one. First off, the one girl behind the counter didn't seem to want to be there, she seemed more interested in talking to a guy sitting at the counter. I asked for an iced latte which was not good, I even had a friend try it to confirm - she agreed, it was awful. So I took it back and explained that there was something off about it. The girl seemed annoyed (likely because I was interrupting her conversation and that I insulted her concoction). So, I instead asked for just an iced coffee. She used the same cup (uh, thanks) to pour pre-made iced coffee from a big jug (not sure how old that was). She handed it to me without saying anything, no sorry about that or hope this is better, or how about here's the difference in money for a coffee vs latte. Apparently someone was not working for tips. That poor customer service has discouraged me to return to this place.

I love this place. It's quiet, they have entertaining kitchy art on display, and the staff is super friendly. On top of that, they make a mean latte and their baked goods are great. I just had a pesto parmesan roll that was delicious. This is a block off the main drag and a welcome diversion from the nearby Starbucks.

To Phil the Barista: I LOVE YOU!!!! You are the sweetest guy in Seattle. When I come in very early in the morning you are always in such a great mood...you put a smile on my face! Not to mention the great espresso drinks you make....real talent! If there were an award for best barista...Phil you win...hands down!

Revolutions is a great place to study, read, and work. They serve good coffee and food at reasonable prices. The interior is pretty cool too. The floors are all concrete- like I had in my basement at home growing up- with throw rugs all around. There is also a really good mix of couches, chairs and outside seating. AND, it has free internet. Every time I come to Revolutions the staff is quick and helpful. It never gets too busy and I have never been disrupted by the crazy Greenlake yuppie crowd (I am a yuppie so I can say that.) I like corporations and corporate America. But what I care about more than anything is low prices and atmosphere. I hope Revolutions becomes so popular that I can find one on every street corner.

  • Avitania B.

While Revolutions doesn't have the "stay and hang out for a few hours" charm that some other coffee shops have, there's one thing that makes this place a great stop for some caffeine and a little snack: the baked goods. I don't know what they put in that Heath Bar cookie, besides Heath Bar and walnuts, but it turns me into a cookie monster. Seriously. Blue fur, crumbs go flying, the whole deal. Try the zucchini bread, too. It made a zucchini bread lover out of me.

This local gem is well worth a walk down the block to avoid Starbucks. Revolutions is one of my favorite places to start out the day or grab an afternoon pick me up. The coffee varies a bit depending on who serves you (as I think is the case anywhere) and my favorite is Phil! (usually there in the morning) He knows when he pulls a good shot and will tell you your drink is going to be really good. He's always smiling and happy and super efficient. He remembers us and always makes us feel welcome even though we don't go every day. Awesome! A revolving selection of pastries baked right on site are a perfect complement to your morning wake-up juice. Casual outdoor seating, industrial tables or cozy nooks await (with free wifi!) And be sure to grab a treat for your four legged friend from the dish on the counter. Viva la Revolucion!

I really enjoy this place! I've been a couple times but yesterday was the first time I actually stayed for a couple hours. Coffee was excellent, the service was fantastic, both of the employees working were so friendly and the vibe there was very chill. Music was great! Also in the past I have had their cookies and yummmy they are good! Cookies and coffee together....delicious.

This place is sooooo close to a 5 Star rating. Let's hit the high points first: - Great coffee ... this is a pre-requisite, no? - Great staff ... Phil not only has memorized my name, but my drink (tall Americano, thank you very much). 9 times out of 10, the drink is waiting for me by the time I get to the front of the line. How cool is that? - Pastries ... The zucchini bread is a personal favorite, but you really can't miss. - Breakfast sandwiches ... about two weeks ago I told my wife, "You know, if Revolutions served breakfast sandwiches I don't think I'd go anywhere else for coffee". Telepathically, Phil must've heard me because Revolutions now offers breakfast sandwiches. Make mine an egg and bacon (with some extra bacon). - Ambience ... very cool vibe inside, the whole mood of the joint says "relax". The tunes are also top notch. What will get Revolutions to a 5-star rating? - Speed of breakfast sandwich creation. They make 'em from scratch (this, of course, is a good thing), but that means you are probably waiting 8-10 min to get your hands on that sucker. Considering that I'm already probably running late for work, I need just a smidge faster. I was told that I can call in my order in advance, which I have yet to try. - Increased availability of sandwiches. I think they stop serving at 10. On the weekend, I'd gladly order a sandwich up until noon.

I really like Revolutions. I work at Columbia Real Estate Group around the corner and prefer to meet my customers and associates here. They are always super friendly, have free wi-fi, and (unfortunately for them) have little to no lines. The only thing preventing me from giving them the full five stars is their lack of food choices. Maybe when the lines come the food choices will grow.

  • Amy L.

My first trip here today with my pooch Miki who was invited inside for heart dog cookies. I had no idea how huge this space is, LOTS of space and board games around to play. I agree with one earlier review that it would be nice if they utilized all the space for a more comfy feel since there is a lot of concrete space with tables.. more area rugs or comfy couches would make it five stars! The barista was super nice and chatted with me the whole time. Good Coffee too. I also like it's a semi-hidden coffee shop gem, much better than the massive foot traffic walking by the lake or the Starbucks mania. Drink Local! Will be coming again. Love the art work as well... :)

yelped this place to meet one of my best friends for coffee yesterday morning. they serve Herkimer's coffee, so roasted goodness is on at this place. tried in-house baked zucchini bread and a heath bar chip cookie. it's good i shared with my kiddos because i could have easily spoiled the whole weekend with the treats. nice size servings, i think $2 each - average price and you can tell they're fresh. yummies... some art on the walls, free wi-fi, plenty of seating and nice feel to this place. the baristas were friendly, and the coffee was perfect. will definitely visit again! and the bobblehead collection? LOVE IT!

When I first got to Seattle and heard about favorite baristas, I was all -puleeze. Just get your coffee and STFU. But now I understand. Because goddamn if the guy at Revolutions doesn't make the finest latte I've ever tasted. I have to stop myself from going for one every morning. Seriously, this place would bankrupt me. But wait - there's more! 1. He's not only the best Barista in the World - he's so freaking nice in the most genuine way that I walk out of there wanting to be a better human. I mean, with all the people he puts up with? I could be a little less snarky. 2. He calls me honey. 3. When he says have a nice day, he seems to mean it. Also - it's big. There's free wi-fi. The music is at an acceptable level. There are couches. The pastry is good, but not good enough to be tempting. If they only had more food, I'd move in a cot. Hell, my boyfriend would understand. He lives upstairs, and then I wouldn't make him fetch me my coffee in the morning.

I really love everything about this place. The espresso is great, the baked goods are even better and the staff are extremely friendly. I'll take Rev's over the starbucks down the road any day.

  • Jeana A.

Revolutions never fails me. Nevermind that there are at least 5 different coffee shops (including large chains) within a 2 block radius of here, I will always always go to Revolutions. They serve Herkimer coffee here, so you know you're getting a tasty cup every time. I've gotten many a latte here, and I'll keep coming back!

What's not to love about a coffee shop with fly fishing photos on the wall, an owner who shows up occasionally in head-to-toe camo, and an endless supply of bike-riding, capri pant-wearing guys to laugh at? I'll admit, the new coffee cards do make it feel like they've sold out a little, but I'll let that slide considering the overall quality of their anniversary party last year. Oh, and the coffee's good too.

  • Alli D.

I'm disgusted with Noobie Alli for only giving Revolutions 4 stars. Please forgive me, Yelp Gods, for I knew not what I was doing. Did the "yelp loves us" sticker on the door not tip me off? Anyway, let me tell you why I'm upgrading. 1. The guys that own this place are *so* great. They ask how you are, ask what you're up to in an I'm-actually-interested kind of way. They learn your name and your drink. They call you sweetie, honey, enter-term-of-endearment-here. 2. Pastries are baked in-house beginning at like 4 in the morning. So when you walk in you're ensconced in this yummy cloud of hot muffin air. The zucchini bread is still my fave, but I also love the mixed berry or oat bran muffin. 3. Rotating art work by local artists. 4. Great music playing at all times. 5. Larger-than-life poster of Snoop Dogg. Usually he's wearing a Revolutions t-shirt, but during the holidays he dons his fanciest sweater. You get the idea. I'm going to go ahead and go here tomorrow morning to further make up for my four-star sin.

  • Chuck A.

This is a great spot. First, the staff (over the past two years) is always polite, engaging and fun! Drip coffee is excellent. Baked goods are tasty too. Of the choices w/in two blocks, Revolutions easily out distances the competition.

  • Gus P.

Love it. Lots of space. Great espresso drinks. I love the lattes. Great baked goods. Amanda is a sweetheart. Cool art on the walls. Great if I want to see the lake after a good latte or mocha. And very convenient to I-5. 2 things. I will puke if the owner calls me "brother" or "my friend" in his fake hippie voice. He doesn't talk like that to people he knows, as I've heard him. I also hope some day they have more healthy food options. Don't always want to eat baked items.

  • Greenlake R.

This coffee shop is pretty fun. The baristas are super friendly and appear to enjoy having conversations with customers. They stamp a pin-up style "Revolutions Espresso" logo onto every cup [classy]. The owners are big fly-fisherman, you can tell from the awesome trout photos on one wall. The photos are complimented by some pretty decent local art. My one criticism is that they could benefit from much larger tables. The space feels, at times, a bit too large. Plus with bigger tables folks could come play board games, students could do homework, and groups could knit together. Or something.

I don't drink coffee often and I felt adventurous today to try something other than the "corporate" chain of Starbucks coffee... Definitely glad I did. I walked into Revolutions and was immediately impressed. I'd say this reminds me of one of the more "real" coffee houses that I remember from late teens / early 20's that we'd all hang out at and shoot the "sh**" at until whenever while getting highly caffeinated. "Let it Be" by the Beatles was playing, the atmosphere was relaxing, not the rush, rush, rush of the corporate chain that you feel no matter what time you go. The service was friendly and I liked the "industrial" look of the cement floor and the overall feeling of the place was great. Not to mention I loved all the paraphernalia that they have posted up on the espresso machine and back wall of where they take orders, etc. Got a few good smirks from some... "Caffeine is a drug, you're an addict.. get used to it" (or something like that). Even at 10:45am on a Friday morning, they had quite a few customers. Noticed they had free Wi-Fi and saw quite a few either on their laptops or reading the paper and there was even one group (of 5 or 6) conducting some company meeting there.... Had a Latte and one of their cookies. The cookie was a "Heath Bar" Cookie with walnuts and oooh it was good!!!! They'll definitely be getting more business from me in the future...

I read Stacia H's review and thought- that is almost exactly what I feel like writing. Great YET frustrating!!! I really want to like this place. Its close, not starbucks and I like the space: open, sizable, outdoor tables, free Internet and the music isn't real loud. Coffee is decent as well. they also have games. The barista's are very nice and friendly, which is generally a plus, but also means that I've have waited to order while they finish a fairly lengthy conversation with the customer in front of me. This I can be patient about, however, since I appreciate the atmosphere they have going. I've never seen more than one employee here at a time. that being said...... the HOURS! their site posts various hours for different days of the week- this is not accurate, today I was informed they officially close at 8pm every day. Not ideal for later studying I was hoping to do there. When I pointed out to the barista that the website says differently she responded, "I know. the website is wrong." If your know the website is wrong (and its been this way for at least 2 months, likely much longer), WHY NOT UPDATE THIS! Do you want people to be frustrated before they can even try your product? Apparently even 8pm isn't a set time. This evening I was studying and noticed she was cleaning up early, by at least 7:25 (again close is listed as 8, also confirmed when I called earlier to ask how late they would be open.) When two women came in around 7:40 I heard the barista announce, "oh, we closed early tonight. sorry" I've never been a barista so I don't know how hard it would be to fire things back up but it seems like poor service, especially when you website lists you as open even later. I guess I'll have to keep this place for afternoons and early evening only- its got some great things going just don't try to go in the evening.

Coffee shops are abundant, and so there's 3 reasons I pick the ones I frequent - excellent customer service, excellent coffee, and convenient location. That being said, I don't have one that provides all of that in one...sadly. This place is convenient, coffee is above par but not excellent, and the customer service - well that depends. If Phil is your barista then you have the most amazing customer service ever! He is so friendly and genuinely into the people that frequent his place. Anyone else and it's sub par and even bad sometimes. The baked goods are really good with the zucchini bread being #1 in my book. The occasional bad service is not enough to keep me away. =)

My friends and I went here the other day on a whim when it was raining too hard to walk around the lake, and Starbucks was too packed. We stumbled upon Revolutions and ahhhh, we were very happy. The space was so relaxing, peaceful, with plenty of open spaces. There were tables for small groups, tiny tables big enough for a person and his or her laptop/books, and several comfy chairs to curl up in. The barista was super sweet and my chai was perfect. Oh, and they have lots of board games available to use, which I love.
