Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut are not recommended to dine-in if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure. High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

I cannot express how excited I am about Pizzeria 22. If you could only have seen how happy I was yesterday after I finished that perfect meal. I'll try to tell you, but just know that all the awesomeness that I write about is actually 100 times more awesome in real life. Here's how it went: Insalata 22: a well executed salad with fresh lettuce, juicy sweet grape tomatoes, salty black olives, extra creamy goat cheese, a light coating of good balsamic vinegar, and a dash of freshly ground pepper. Salads aren't meant to overload you with creamy dressings. They are supposed to be a light and fresh starter for a meal. And that's exactly what this was. Hamma hamma clams: Oh jesus sweet lord, they were amazing. Truly the most interesting and well executed clam dish I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Not just a plain white wine sauce. A fresh tomato, garlic, and parsley white wine broth. The most tender clams you ever tasted. And a side of foccacia to soak up the delicious broth you just hate to leave behind. I'm not doing it justice and it kills me. Pear, Gorgonzola, Prosciutto, Red Onion Pizza: This is probably one of my most favoritest combos of all time so it would've been hard, near impossible to let me down. Even so, I could still tell it was perfectly executed and that that kind of perfection would carry onto all their other pizzas. They've got the thinnest crust you've ever seen. They always use good ingredients. The pear at first seemed to be cut a little thicker than I would like, causing the pear to not be the soft consistency that I am used to. But actually the crunchiness of the pear added a great texture and since the pear was good, it worked out fine, better than fine! The gorgonzola was delicious and there was plenty of it. The prosciutto was thin and salty and not overcooked so that it was crispy. Fresh red onion is always welcome to me. It was all around amazing. Bravo. Nutella Calzone with Key lime pie gelato: And this just sealed the deal. It came out warm and puffy and light filled with a generous amount of nutella but not too much that it was overwhelming. And I don't even like key lime pie so I wasn't all that excited about the gelato. And I couldn't have been more wrong. It was so fresh tasting and then you could taste the little bits of graham cracker in it. I hate myself for not being able to describe the kind of ecstasy this dessert brought me. I won't say anymore except that you should go for yourself so that you can experience the kind of pain that I feel right now for not being able to show just how amazing this place is. Also thank you to the owner who served us all night and made it one of the best dining experiences of my life.

We just moved to West Seattle from out of state and this is one of our new favorite neighborhood restaurants. We ate at the bar and had a salad and pizza. The service was friendly and the food was tasty. We ordered the inferno pizza and swapped out the meat for a fried egg which they will add to any pizza. As other reviewers have said it is a small place and very warm inside especially if you sit in the back near the oven, mental note to wear short sleeves next time. We will be back!

Among the best pizza I've ever had. The cured meat sampler was the perfect accompaniment.

Staff very professional and the pizza incredible and so are the salads. Nice place to eat in; no delivery. Great bar selection.

I wasn't taken by Pizzeria 22 in the food sense but found the ambiance to be particularly enjoyable. I felt like I was transported to a tiny hole in the wall place somewhere in Italy. Paintings on the wall and the big wooden stove in the corner were all fun to stare at. There are outdoor tables which were all full despite the blustery weather. I would have to give the pizza two and half stars. It was really uninspired and missed the mark. It was flimsy, soggy, and lacking taste. Perhaps it was our fault for coming on a busy night but can a busy night be a good enough excuse for lackluster food? Another issue was the waiter. While I admire folks who don't write down orders and can present the correct food this waiter did not accomplish that feat. We had to remind him about a missing drink and a missing pie. The one redeeming quality of Pizzeria 22 was the dessert. We ordered the Hazelnut calzone and it was splendid. Full of nutty chocolate and a fresh calzone with gelato. We almost had an issue trying to split it evenly since we all wanted more. That was the perfect way to end the night. I would give Pizzeria 22 another chance especially since the dessert made up for the meager pizza. I know something is going right in that place.

After a stop at a fav of ours (Flying Squirrel) and finding no vegetarian special and a removal of any hef, pilsner, or wheat beer we decided to head back to our hood and check this place out. So Glad We Did! Waaaaayyyyyy better than Via Tribunali! We ordered a salad each (both of us had the Insalata 22) and 1 pizza (Milano) - perfect amount of food. The pizza was hot and tasty - perfect pairing and amount of ingredients cooked to perfection. Some other posts commented on the temp and service - a Monday night in October meant the temperature in the restaurant was comfortably toasty for me. Both the hostess and the server were friendly, attentive, helpful, and prompt. We could not have asked for better service and food. We will definitely be back.

Went here twice and weren't impressed. Third time and thereafter loved it! What was the difference? Appetizers and salads. Stuffed mushrooms? Clams in red sauce? Yes, please! I don't even like clams. Also, their Insalata Verde is very good. Don't just go and get pizza. You'll just get a thin crust pizza and get a boring meal. But when combined with their delicious appetizers and salads, it becomes a really, really good meal. It also becomes a much more expensive meal, however. I wouldn't go here if I just craved pizza. Happy hour pizzas are $5, but quite small and fewer options.

Don't go here, you will just hate it. Worst Pizza evah! HA HA - hopefully that will leave a seat open for me!! This is the best brick oven pizza around - we are so lucky to have such an amazing place right here in West Seattle.

  • Melissa A.

Overall this place was good, but not great. We had the margherita pizza and tuna pizza. The crust was nice and thin which made it pretty easy for the toppings to slide right off the pizza. The taste of the dough was good though. The stuffed mushrooms were okay, but lacking in flavor but the and olive tapenade was really tasty.

We just moved to West Seattle and were looking for a place to pop in and have pizza and salad with our sick kiddo. This wasn't what we were looking for but it was a delightful discovery. It's the kind of place I love to go to for date night with my husband. The pizza is as good as any Neapolitan pizza in town and maybe better. They have the tiled oven made in Italy and it makes for a cozy small spot. It wasn't cheap for a 30 minute pop in but it was on par with the style. Our host/server was pleasant and very kind in regards to our son and I appreciated that very much. Inexpensive house wine and the Inferno pizza were very good. We also had the green salad with the goat cheese and it was perfect for 2 people. I will definitely go again.

Thin crust lust. I love 22 for its 1) Woodfired oven; 2) Flavorful toppings; 3) Not too much topping; 3) Chili Oil; 4) Simply-dressed salads; 5) Expert and friendly bartenders.

  • Ricky M.

I think this maybe in my top 3 Pizza places in Seattle. I love the nice thin crust. The environment is warm and the service is friendly. I've never had a bad pizza here. Only gripe is the cocktails are on the spendy side.

  • Jake A.

This is a tiny place, but the pizza is delicious. It is thin-style, and they give you giant scissors to cut the slices. No kidding! Perhaps this is Italian? I immediately broke my scissors, and the woman at the table next to us helped me put them back together, much to my wife's amusement. We always seem to end up here Friday night, when it is absolutely packed. The beers are also good - they always have a Georgetown ale; last time it was Lucille's terrific IPA. Looking forward to checking out happy hour here.

Quaint little place that I will absolutely return to! We walked in on a Friday night, somewhat early for dinner - 6:30-ish or so and were faced with a bustling atmosphere and a small wait (probably 10 minutes or so. Not bad). But, there were some open seats at the bar so we shimmied up. We ordered the Viaduct (Caprese) salad. Delicious mozzarella. Also ordered the pancetta pizza which had crispy smoky pancetta and deliciously seasoned mushrooms atop their tomato sauce & mozzarella. Completely hit the spot and left me craving another slice the next morning. To round out the meal, we capped off dinner with wood-fired S'mores. Messy, but so worth it. Bartenders and servers were friendly. The owner was on site and working just as hard as everyone else. And they were clearly doing a bustling take out business too with boxes of pizzas going out pretty frequently.

Way better food than I was expecting at this place. The inside is tiny, so expect to sit really close to your neighbors. I loved their cocktail list, and everything we tried was amazing. Great place for a neopolitan-style authentic Italian pizza!

Great thin crust pizza, good selection on the menu and their veal meatballs are excellent. Always fast, friendly service from Jesse behind the bar. Will continue to be a West Seattle staple for me.

We went here on Saturday (even after reading a negative review on the west seattle blog about the burnt crust). The place was empty when we arrived just after they opened. The venue is a tad small and things are a little hot the closer you are to the pizza oven. We ordered the mushroom appetizer (which the other half loved - I don't eat mushrooms and so cannot comment), a chicken margherita pizza (good crust, no burn marks, excellent sauce but sub par chicken - it seemed like cut chicken you could buy pre cut in bulk and was tasteless), and the s'mores (just enough to share and a tad gooey - should be served with small plates). Clearly there are kinks to be worked out, but overall it's a nice addition to the North Admiral neighbourhood. The music was a little loud, if there had been more customers it may have been hard to hold a conversation with your dining companion. Also, I went to ask the waitress a question when she dropped off the check and she just walked away - she needs to be more aware of her surroundings.

Yes, Pizzeria 22 is better than Via Tribunali. Believe. It's quaint and comfortable with better (in quality and price) wood fired pizzas. We ordered the al pepperoni and everything from the crust to the toppings was perfect. No thin, soggy slices here. The house salad was perfectly dressed in a balsamic vinaigrette along with gorgeous goat cheese, sweet tomates and salty kalamata olives. There are a few outdoor tables to enjoy the sun and a great Neapolitan style pizza.

If you're looking for a nice crisp thin crust pizza with a rich and flavorful sauce, plenty of cheese, and traditional+gourmet toppings? This place isn't it. This is *artisanal* pizza. Great service, fun to watch the process, and I suspect when it hits the jackpot it is amazing. But such pizza is made for foodies of discerning palate - not Joe Average with a yen for a zesty night out with a somewhat lower carb count (than, say, a thick crust pizza). If you're a foodie? Have at it. If you're Joe Average - you might be happier at either Zeeks or Delfino's....

We are huge fans of Delancy and Via Trib and I must say that Pizzeria 22 is doing a pretty damn good job. We sat at the bar and had fantastic service. He was attentive, kind and very knowledgeable about the menu. Both of our pizzas were excellent, served with fresh ingredients. Also, I loved being able to watch them make my pizza from the bar. We had the S'mores for desert which were devine! Great job Pizzeria 22; we'll be back! One more thing....this is an upscale pizza place, not Dominos. Expect to pay a little more.

Really disappointed to say that my last experience here was not up to par. The people next to us got seated 10 minutes later and got drinks before us. Our table was generally ignored, the table next to us was visited at a far greater frequency and a number of our orders weren't put in and we had to remind our server.

  • Sarah S.

My first time visiting this adorable pizza place was filled with good memories, which brought me back again and again. I walked in with zero knowledge of this place and was pleasantly surprised. It was right before the dinner rush started that myself and my three friends walked into the place and (luckily) got a table. The service was fast, friendly and the atmosphere was fun. There is a legit woodfire stove and you can see the pizzas going in and coming out. The owner has been there everytime I have been there and you can tell that he knows what he is doing. The pizza is my favorite in Seattle -- all of Seattle, not just West Seattle. The prices are reasonable and everyone seems to be happy there. On my first visit, a guy at the tables next to us bought us the clams appetizer, telling us that "These are the best clams you will ever have!" He was right. This place will not disappoint. And the dessert, the wood fired smores, OHMYGOD! Do get those if you save room, its delicious. The only unfortunate thing about this place is that it is hard to get a table. Unless you go early, this place can get busy and does not have many tables for the volume of business I have seen them experience. That will not stop me though because it is the best pizza in town!

  • Sue Q.

OK First, I have to say I'e been sooo wanting to check this out and 1st off, I am crazzzy for some wood-fired pizza! Which IS pretty good here, the chicken-pesto one was perfectly done, with the most excellent thin-chewy-ness one expects in Italian wood-fired pie! The mixed greens salad had a great dressing made with obvious QUALITY balsalmic BUT WAIT! Why the 2 stars?? Because my lovelies, once again,good-to-great service in Seattle seems to be something that one can only gamble on, with the house usually winning. But it's more then that, Ms.Blondie seemed positively BOTHERED when my partner asked politely if there could maybe,ya know, be a table for 2 in the place....I've been to Italy, I've been to some small, small joints there but they still WELCOME you and will find you a place to sit. She then tossed the menus at us like so many playing cards (Like how I'm staying with the gambling theme?) When I asked for some ice for my Coke and more water, she mumbled something and then placed the bottle of water on the table with a "THUNK!"(no pouring here), when the poor man next to us with a small child asked for pepper, she did the same thing with the pepper grinder as if to say "Grind it yourself, you breeder!" WTH??!! We looked at each other and asked"What did we do!?" The bartender dude was nice , could've done without his red-denimmed-ass in my face when he was addressing the other table but....my question is : You are a small place and your product is good but HOW can you afford to have such a surly, unpleasant unwelcoming employee cuz I will not return if I see her sour puss in there again. oH and Mr. RedPants? A Moscow Mule is made with Ginger BEER-not Ginger ALE- just sayin'....

  • Richard B.

Stuffed mushroom appetizer underwhelming and overpriced. Two kinds of pizza were both great recipes that were very poorly executed. Both thin crust pizzas that were floppy & messy with poor texture but good flavor. The BEST s'mores for desert! However, I bet they are the only s'more made in any west Seattle establishment. I'll never get pizza there again, but i'll carry out a s'more.

I had no idea this place would be so amazing! I have driven past this little pizza place many times but just last week my husband and I decided to go. I love the intimate cafe feel of this place. The food was incredible!! I couldn't believe that this place had been around for a year or so and i was just now getting around to going! I cursed myself for the many times i could have dined here. What a great place. Service was amazing, food was superb and atmosphere was top notch. We will be back again!

I have been several times, great pizza, cool pizza oven (open kitchen), clean, friendly atmosphere. The pizza is better then every other pizza joint in west seattle. Finally Kerry Kemp (owner) is one badass dude and has crafter one fine pizzeria.

  • Michelle A.

I really did enjoy the pizza. It Neapolitan style done well, but their topping style is meh and Overpriced!! I understand paying for good food - but everything down to the draft beer was higher than expected. I feel like they are cashing in on the uniqueness and not of what is actually being served. If you do go, as I said the pizza is enjoyable - just get pizza and water. They serve tasty free bread before hand so you'll be solid even splitting two people one pizza. The seating outside seating area is very tiny and on top of each other style. I suggest going here for an indoor restaurant.

  • Sylvia S.

Beware the dangerous step up between rooms. Poorly marked - one inch sign at least two feet above eye level about what is at least a 4" step up. Went flying across the floor when tripped over it. Staff did't even apologize or seem concerned when informed. Far more concern expressed from the patrons who saw the incident. Staff thought signage more than sufficient. As to the food, the selection is limited although it is a reasonable Napoletana pizza. Space is small and crowded.

  • Alexander S.

Very unfortunate, but this place is going down. It was so good after it opened and not so good now. Had to ask for a water 3 times, asked for napkins! They ran out of scissors to cut pizza and overall the pizza is not that great. With competitors around the corner this place is losing on quality, service and prices. I don't think I'll come back unless Mioposto is fully booked and I'm desperate for pizza.

  • Roger B.

It's a bit tight here in P22. Adjust your expectations accordingly. Feels a bit like a New York diner. You're going to be close to other people and likely to bumped, touched and rubbed - especially if you sit at the bar. This has never stopped me from coming here because I love the food. Also, the owner is great and the staff and clientele are friendly. The pizzas/calzone are Neapolitan style from an authentic wood burning stove. It's thin crust and sloppy, just the way I like it. Perfect for folding. I enjoy quite a bit of the items on the menu but my go to are the Insalate 22 salad along with the meaty Calzone. When I'm not so hungry, I'll split the two with a friend. If famished, I'll kill it on my own with an IPA to wash it down. I also love the clams appetizer.

  • Meredith G.

Pizza is the star here, not the staff. We got there and it was empty and they wanted to put us in the side room which is strange. So, it took a while to get drinks and then get our order in, but we could deal because the pizza was so good. Don't both with their s'more dessert- a kid could do better at a camp fire.

  • H K.

Better than your average pizza joint. They also do GF crust with all the same gourmet toppings.

  • Jermaine D.

Fun little spot in W. Seattle. I heard great things are really wanted to love this place. The service was fun and attentive (although a little unorganized). Wine/beer selection is great. We had the meatballs and a couple of salads to start. The meatballs were the low point of the night. Zero flavor and a very weird/soft texture. The caesar was really tasty but seriously drenched in dressing. I enjoyed the pizza but think that it could have been way better if they were simply using better quality ingredients. Crust was perfectly crisp and slightly chewy...yes! It's just that the toppings were so....not great. Bummer.

  • Alex S.

Good pizza, very similar to the many other wood fire places in the area. They lose points for charging $6.50 for beer (!!!), not cutting the pizza for you (they give you scissors to cut with) and not having temperature control. It's way too hot in there.

    (3)
  • Stephen M.

Thin crust pizza place that has about 20 varieties of about the same pie. Outside, dog-friendly area consists of 4 picnic tables that are right off the street. The outside area is not well-lit with either outdoor lighting or street lights, so its hard to read the menus under over-sized umbrellas. Our group ordered 4 pizzas. 2 were burnt, and 2 looked about right. Skimpy on the chicken and toppings in general. No one was blown away with the size, taste, or speed of service. Much better pizza places in the area. Probably won't return.

Great Italian style pizza! Thin crust with sauce and toppings. We had the pepperoni and the inferno pizza! Oh, and the fire roasted smores!!!! Small, quaint and a decent beer and wine selection. Outdoor seating was cool, picnic tables with umbrellas. Waitress was super friendly and awesome!!

My wife and I have been here 6 times and we really do think it's the best pizza in West Seattle, but the experience can vary depending on the night. Weeknights are definitely best if you don't want to wait (or make a reservation). We went there this past Saturday at about 8:30 and knew we were going to have to wait. We got a table pretty fast (about 10 minutes) and were seated at a table near the back. If you haven't been there, the main dining room is basically one long bench with tables that can be combined to form parties of 2,4 or 6. As we were walking up to our table we saw a guy in a flannel sitting in the middle of the tables talking to a table of 4 women. I squeezed by and took my seat on the bench figuring he was just saying hello to some friends. About 20 minutes went by and I sat there, 6 inches away from him with his back facing me and it appeared he was in it for the long haul so we scooted the table to the right to get a little elbow room and not encroach on the other diners to the right of us. And then he just took up more room. After another 10 or so minutes he gets up. We're free! Nope, he then goes behind the bar and gets a round of shots for the table he is at. Wait a minute, this guy works here? We asked our server who he was. Not only does he work here, he's the owner! None other than Carey Kemp himself. He stuck around for a total of 60 minutes total. I don't know if he was flirting with one of the ladies, maybe his girlfriend, his wife, whatever. I don't really care what he was doing. We were just really disappointed that his behavior was so unprofessional on a busy Saturday night, with tables stacked up and your servers busting their rumps to turn tables. You are the owner, I get it. You can flirt with whomever you want and buy drinks for whomever you want. Next time just don't do it on a busy night at the expense of the other patrons in your restaurant and probably the moral of your servers. The food was great as always, but it's going to take awhile for the bitter taste of this experience to wear off before and if we come back.

This review pertains to the service, as there are plenty of other reviews that address the food quality. We were there on a busy night. We made a reservation via Open Table but they hadn't figured out how to actually use it yet apparently, and thus we had to wait along with the other poor schleps to get seated. They offered us a few glasses of wine to help soften the disappointment which was nice. Great for the adults, but not for two hungry kids in tow. I would've left at the get-go but since we were with friends, I didn't want to cause a commotion. This only got worse as I observed our servers continually take long delays between returns to our table to attend to us. Yes, the kitchen was clearly busy, but to see our server stop and chat with other servers, while we still hadn't received all of our drinks...or to have another server who was bringing our appetizers (an hour after arrival by the way so we were ready to gnaw our arms off at that point) literally stop a few feet from our table, while holding our food and to talk to the owner about something was more than eye rolling. This was further maddening that when our pizzas finally came out of the oven and were waiting to be delivered to our table, our server was at the other end of the bar talking to another employee for an extended time that was ridiculously unacceptable. I was moments away from going to pick up the pizzas myself and he finally made eye contact with me and was abruptly brought back into reality that he was a server at a restaurant with actual customers at tables (!). Oh yeah, in the total time from arrival until we were brought our check, we could have ordered a pizza from Pagliacci and had it delivered. Twice in a row.

A month ago or so, I ordered pizza online. When I got there, they didn't have my order or know anything about it. The remade the order, which was not correct but took it and headed on my way. The young lady also provided me with a gift card, which I was reluctant to use. Last week, I went in to use the card and told the bartender (Carl) that I was just there for a couple glasses on the house and that was it. I told him my story, he offered the drinks and was apologetic about the situation and assured me the next visit would be better. Great recovery! I went back and was blown away by the service, food and welcoming ambiance. I have been back 3 times and love this place! I was a national hotel mystery shopper for 3 years and a GM of a large hotel company, with a masters in Hotel Management. Trust me, they don't teach the service and hospitality this place offered me. Do yourself a favor and check this hidden gem out!

I've been to Pizzaria 22 several times. The pizzas are some of the best around. The salads are big and good. I'd bump the review up to 4 or 5 stars but for the noise level. Both rooms are way too loud. Last time I was there I could barely hear the couple we were with. Go for the food during off hours or get it to go. During busy times it's just way too loud.

We ordered a pizza to pick up and eat at home. The pizza did not look like your standard pizza and tasted okay. We had expected the pizza to be extra tasty because of the expensive price, but were disappointed. Bottom line, the pizza at Costco is bigger, cheaper, and tastes better.

My wife and I always get the same thing... 2 Pesto Carlitos (I think that's the name). I finish the entire thin crust pizza and usually finish a couple slices of my wife's. Great food!

This is Neapolitan Style Pizza, so it's not American with thick sauce and overly used toppings. They use fine grade Italian meats and only highest grade cheeses, and yes always to par produce. Yea it's thin, it's the Italian way of pizza, if you don't like that style then I suggest maybe trying some of the other amazing things they offer like veal meatballs and arugula salad with pancetta and Gorgonzola. Did I mention they have my favorite clams they're FRESH?! I've seen people comment on the style of "watery sauce" or "Thin pizza, too thin you can't cut with the provided scissors" that's hilarious because people clearly must be ignorant to what Pizza was originally made to be and clearly an operators error with the scissors. If you want cheap pizza go to Pizza Hut, or maybe the word Dominos is familiar, you may be happier, but if you want REAL Italian pizza (with a certificate on the wall tested for its authenticity regularly) where pizza originally came from then I'd say it's gonna be the best you've ever had!!! New side room makes it great for big parties without need of too much notice! And never any wait to get in anymore!

Came here for dinner one night, not sure what to expect. The service was great. Super fast and very friendly. I ordered a happy hour special, $6 pizza as long as you get a drink. I ordered a Manny's. My husband ordered off the menu. We thought for the price, the size is more than enough for the average person. The pizza is cooked via a wood fired oven. The pizza makers are pretty cool to watch. I advise getting the spot close to oven if you want to a) stay warm and b) watch them work. Overall, we had a great experience. Will definitely be coming back.

Have to say...I'm impressed for sure. Great space, friendly service and fine pies. Started off with some apps: stuffed mushrooms and clams in a red sauce. The clams took the show and really started off the night right. The sauce was lap-worthy...yeah, I did ask for a straw. I'll go there. The pies were great- love the egg on top of one of the olive oil based pies...really tasty. One of the pies had a tad underdone crust...I didn't mention anything, but I bet if I did- they would have taken it back and helped a brotha out. The smores were a really nice touch in the fire- and the blueberry gelato was a great way to cleanse the ol' palate from a lovely, lovely dinner. I'm a fan.

Recently went to Pizzeria 22 on a random Wednesday night with a friend who'd been there several times before. I've wanted to try it since they opened, but since I live in the south end of West Seattle, it isn't always convenient to drive to Admiral for dinner and then fight for parking w/ the residents, bar/restaurant goers, etc. I'm not complaining, just saying it's a challenge! Especially after 5pm. Anyway, the place was packed when we got there and so we grabbed a seat at the bar. The space is narrow, so if you don't like being bumped, jostled, and/or just plain body slammed by people walking behind you do NOT sit at the bar. That said, I loved *everything* about this place. The ambience. The decor. The bar. The bartender. The drinks he made me. And the pizza? The pizza was devine! Can't wait to go back and try more menu items, only next time I'll wait for a table so I can sit longer and enjoy a leisurely, bump free, meal.

Not good at all. Watery and overly sweet sauce, poorly rolled pizza, terrible fresh mozzarella, inedible prosciutto. I at less than 2 full "slices" (which are not really sliced since they send the pie out unsliced w/ a pair of scissors) and trashed it and got something else.

How have I missed this place for all these years. Not to worry I now know it's here. From the friendly service, cute ambiance, amazing stuffed mushrooms, thin crust pizzas with all kinds of standard and creative flavors (tuna? Yeah I hear its good) to fantastic salads. I say yes please. I highly recommend trying it.

Cascioppo - Mushroom and sausage with red sauce. Delicious! The crust is so thin it comes with scissors for you to hand cut yourself! Special appetizer of the night: clams in tomatoe based broth with flatbread. Super yummy! I like the olive oil/butter broth that most clams seem to come with, but this sauce was sooo much better that my husband picked up a spoon and drank some like it was tomato soup! We asked for red pepper flakes and the bartender gave us also a bottle of olive oil infused in chili, which was amazing! Never tried that on pizza before, great if you like a little kick to your pizza. Pretty small place, and it's dark/romantic-esque. I was surprised there were lots of family and children in there. But overall, a great little neighborhood find.

This pizza place was really small, but it had a very nice intimate feeling and the environment was great! The vibe in the restaurant was awesome as well. The food was amazing. My boyfriend and I, ordered a pizza and I wished the dough or crust was a little bit more crunchier but it paired well with our beer and we topped it with this chili oil which made the pizza taste so good with that kick of spice. We also tried their clams in red sauce with flat bread and that was good. For dessert, we had the smores :) Overall, I'd come back again! Oh and our server guy was great too!!

This place is in a bad location but gosh the pizza is delicious. It's a definite must try. The room is somewhat dim so romantic even for a pizza joint. Great decor and ambiance. I hope it makes it because the pizza crust is amazing. I tried their special and was so satisfied. I'd rate it up there with Serious Pie, which I'm a fan of. My only complaint is I didn't care to be sitting right next to the door, but that was my friend's fault for not requesting to be moved. They serve beer and wine.

Good little pizza restaurant in West Seattle. When you say the word "pizzeria" around a New Yorker, you expect a glass case full of slices and a Pac Man machine. Not here! The pizza was solid overall. Thin crust that can be compared to Tutta Bella. I actually like Pizzeria 22 slightly better. I enjoyed a Mexican Coke with my Inferno pizza. I also ordered a Margherita because I have to go with a simple option when checking out a new pizza spot. Both were solid. The smores dessert was yummy. The pizza scissors idea is different but can't say I'm a fan. Just drop a pizza wheel on the table if you want us to cut our own pies. Service was solid. Pizzeria 22 is small so arrive early. You can't drink adult beverages in the outside seating area.

Pretty good for Seattle. There's not one pizza is as good as the ones in NY/NJ, but this place has the dough right, not only it's thin, the dough has good flavor.

Yum! I'd like to make that my whole review. Really tasty thin-crust, artisan pizza. Great happy hour deals from 4-6. The end. More? Ok, then: We're on a mission to try out all the pizza joints in West Seattle. (it's good to have a purpose in life, right?) This one's near the library, so it was easy enough to get to one night when we were hungry. Parking wasn't as easy as we'd hoped, since the Admiral/California area is always iffy for that, but we found a close-enough side street and walked. The place is small and intimate, and looked really hip, so I worried our kids would be unwelcome. Not so! The servers were super friendly, hooked my baby up with a high chair, and gave my five-year-old a free, smaller-size drink. (I didn't realize it was free till I didn't see it on the tab. We tipped well.) However, the place is *teensy*. No way were my kiddos and their energy going to survive with everything intact before the food got there, so my husband took them out for a walk, like to Bartell to spend allowance or some such. What did I care? I was blissfully alone for once, at a nice restaurant! I felt so swanky. We got there during happy hour but wanted a more interesting pizza that wasn't on the $5 list. We did order a reduced-price appetizer, stuffed mushrooms. Alcoholic drinks are $1 off during happy hour as well, which means you could get a house wine for $4: not shabby. We ordered the Pesto Carlito pizza, which had pesto (duh), roasted chicken, red onions, and goat cheese. When I saw how spread out the toppings were, I was afraid it might be too plain, but it was light and delicious. Did I mention "Yum"? The cheese-stuffed mushrooms come in a lovely marinara sauce, so I have high hopes for a red pizza another time. Now that I know how high-quality the pizzas are, I won't mind settling even for a plain margherita or pepperoni one for happy hour. I wish I could have enjoyed all my crust, but my 5-year-old called dibs on it all. In his defense, it was very good crust. One downside is the portions vs. the expense. The pizzas aren't that big, and the light dough means there isn't much bulk. The 5-year-old got crusts; the baby got bites. That meant by and large two adults shared one $14 pizza and one appetizer. I was pleasantly sated immediately after eating my half but hungry again a couple hours later. Plus, it was just so good, I could have easily kept eating! I think a better proportion would be for two adults to get their own appetizer and then split a pizza, or get two pizzas and bring home any leftovers. But then it gets kind of pricey. Definitely a splurge place, unless you go during happy hour. I could also imagine the place getting quite crowded on busy nights. I'm looking forward to going again when it's sunnier so we can sit outside. And maybe we'll leave the kids behind, take the free Water Taxi Shuttle, and enjoy happy hour. ;)

I've never written a bad review. But I guess I had high expectations for pizzeria 22. I called ahead because I didn't have time to be waiting around. Well that didn't help. I was told to come pick it up in ten minutes. I show up in ten. Wait another 20. 30 minutes I was waiting. I was getting impatient but I assumed this just meant my pizza was going to be delicious, right? Wrong. The bottom of my pizza was partly burnt. Not crisp...BURNT. But somehow it was still soggy and all the toppings slipped right off. It seems others have had good experiences....I just didn't. I'm not enraged...just disappointed. I wouldn't go back.

It has been awhile since my visit and can't remember all the details. But one thing I do remember is sitting at a candlelit, cozy, wood-fired, pizzeria on a chilly, rainy night is a little too romantic for a couple of straight dudes coming off of work wearing jeans and boots. The restaurant is nice and would be great if I was looking across the candle at a woman. Which brings me to my point. When I think pizza, I think pizza and beer. Not a romantic dinner for two. This can be considered a negative or positive. In my case not the greatest but for future reference it can be great. Think about it. How many pizzerias are setup for a date? Wine, beer, good quality and tasty pizza, and ambiance. Okay. I can think of another down on the water (another I fear to visit with my current beer drinking buddies). Moving on. The food. The pizza was nicely cooked and seemed to be along the lines of a hand tossed, wood fired pizza with fresh ingredients. I can't remember which one I had but I assume any of them will be the same theme and quality. They had on special clams which was topped with Mariana style sauce, garlic, and wine (I believe). Those are the two that I can remember and both items were good examples of tasty Italian food. I don't think I'll be going back. Not because of the ambiance, quality of food, or even the company. I have never been one for up scale Italian. Pizza. Yes. Spaghetti. Sure. Lasagna. Yep. Oh and the beer. It is no brewery.

Really enjoy this small sexy pizzeria! Great wine selection, delicious and flavorful salads and pizzas with interesting toppings. They converted me to thin crust pizza! Now I just have to convert my man! This place is perfect for a romantic dinner or bring your kids, who will enjoy using scissors to cut their pizza and the s'mores following dinner! How many places can say they are sexy and good for kids!

Checked them out for the first time during their happy hour. The personal pizzas for $5 during this time are a great value. They appear to be very finicky about their ingredients, and want the best they can get. The cheese and pepperoni in my pizza appeared to be artisan grade. The pizzas on their menu seem a bit spendy (averaging $14 for a 12-inch thin crust pizza that will feed one hungry person or two nibblers). It seems outside of happy hour, your tab can add up really quick. But that said, you are getting the best of ingredients, and it's your body; do you deserve the best? The dining space is small and intimate, with a nice atmosphere. Great for a romantic dinner or get together with a couple of friends. The staff is very professional and take pride in their product. I was particularly impressed by the candor of the server. So why only 3 stars? Well, I think this type of pizza is being done better at Phonecia, but Pizzeria 22 does have more varieties of pizza. I haven't been there for dinner yet, but I will, and I reserve the right to upgrade this review to 4 or 5 stars. Please don't be dissuaded by my 3-star preliminary review; by all means check these guys out for yourself!

Pizzeria 22's service has risen to the occasion and they are now our favorite go-to pizza spot in the entire city. It's a cozy place to be during the rainy months because the pizza oven warms the restaurant making it the perfect spot for a cozy date night. Since we've been back, our service has been attentive, enthusiastic and friendly. And the pies are baked to perfection with savory tomato sauce, fresh veggies and crispy meats. Hot tip: They bottle their own olive oil, which you can take home and enjoy.

I've only come for happy hour, but that's enough to make me love this place. $4 glasses of wine, $1 beers (during Power Hour) and $5 wood-fired tastes-like-youre-in-Italy pizza makes for a really happy hour, or two! I've eaten pizza Italy, and this pizza compares well. The HH pizzas are the perfect one-person size. The crust is what stands out the most, followed by the fresh cheese and a perfect tomato sauce. All the flavors just work. During HH, I usually get the margherita pizza. My fiance once got the pepperoni, which I found way too oily for my liking. I've also tried their olive tempenade appetizer, which I wouldn't recommend - way too salty - and their stuffed mushrooms, which I would recommend - mushrooms stuffed with cheese and topped with their tasty tomato sauce, what's not to love! I can't speak for the pizzas on their regular menu, but I can say I want to try them! They have some very interesting, different flavor combinations and they also have the basics. They do look quite large - easily can be shared between two, maybe three people (unlike the HH pizzas, which are more individually sized). Great atmosphere, though the restaurant is small and fills up fast. Parking is such a hassle here, but you'll eventually find something. Fun fact - the place in named after the restaurant in Italy where the owner/chef learned his trade.

Unimpressive. Lacking flavor. Ordered the 'Margherita 22'. Perhaps they ran out of basil? Or perhaps I just ordered wrong entirely.

Found a new favorite spot. This place is great! The food is wonderful, but I might say the ambiance of the place is even better. It's a small place, very personal. Happy hour is unbeatable, $1 beer and $5 personal pizzas. They open at 4 and that is when Happy Hour begins. I would suggest arriving around then as it seems to get busy quickly. The staff is very helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a quiet, warm place to fill your belly, this is it.

Tried this place for the first time last week for happy hour! All I can say is it was AMAZING!!! The happy hour pizza's are delicious and the nutella calzone and housemade rasberry gelato was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. The service was wonderful and everyone was so friendly. It was definitley popular though as we had to sit at the bar and right after we got there, at least 8 more people had come in trying to get a table but it was full. Its a small place so I recommend getting there early as I am not sure if they take reservations.

Pizza 22 better than this or that? Really? I dunno, it's different. The experience at the bar, which seems more "diner-ish" is quite different. The size of the place (and the included heat from the oven) is quite different. I cant wait to go back in winter and feel the warmth...but I am so glad they got outdoor seating. If they hadn't been able to secure that, I'm not sure anyone would go in the summer. I think the pizza is meh-OK. Its like Via Trib, and the happy hour price is great. But for the regular menu, I'm just not sure. I think unless I am wow-ed, I may only be in because the happy hour is cheap for pizza and I can get a whiskey (hooray full bar). I'm still up and down on this place. Go try it for yourself and get back to me...

This pizza place is ok. We heard great things about Pizzeria 22 and were really excited to finally try it. We knew that it gets super busy and because of its small space, we decided to go there right at opening, 4pm, on a Saturday. To our surprise, other customers were already sitting down...that's a good sign we thought. Location and Parking: There is only street parking. It's right on the edge of a residential neighborhood, so you may have to drive around a bit looking for a spot. Service: The service was quick. The bartender was our server and he was just ok...not the friendliest person. He did not tell us of any nightly specials, so we missed out on the special pizza they were having that night. A bit disappointing. Ambiance: This place is really cute and has a good vibe about it. Even though it is very small, the way they set-up the tables and bar was a great idea. All ages were there and everyone was having a good time. Food and Drinks: The bartender made great drinks. He made hubby an excellent Manhattan and I had a yummy Prosecco. I noticed the bar seats filled up quickly and were always busy. The whole time we were there, even starting at 4pm, the bar was busy busy.....excellent and skilled bartender. We started with 2 appetizers, the stuffed mushrooms and olives. Both were good. For pizza, hubby ordered the roasted chicken and garlic and I ordered the roasted chicken and pesto. Both were just ok. I really judge a pizza by its crust. Am I going to eat the crust at the very end? Is the crust good enough to eat? And at Pizzeria 22, NO. The crust was bland and a bit dry. The rest of the pizza was ok. The roasted chicken on both pizzas was very dry and there needed to be more roasted garlic on the one. I think that if I had not experienced Tom Douglas' Serious Pie, I may have enjoyed Pizzeria 22 more. But their pizza is just not that great. We will go back again, just not right away. I won't be craving their crust anytime soon.

Pizza 22 is adorable! It is a hop, skip and a jump away from my condo, so my fiance and I decided to give it a try. They have a great happy hour, only $5 for wood fired pizza. Unfortunately, the crust was a bit soggy and flimsy, but we did go on a busy Friday night so we will certainly be trying it again in hopes of something better. Great place to go and grab a glass of wine if you live in the area.

Pizzeria 22 is fantastic and I'm so glad that we now have this pizza style in West Seattle. Everything about this place is great - the pizza crust is perfectly thin and has the perfect chew to it. Sauce is wonderful. Toppings are high quality and great. Its a tight sqeeze when it is busy, but that just adds to the ambiance. Highly reco!

Cozy restaurant with a delicious menu of tasty pizzas and fancy yummy cocktails, along with classic cheap light beer and a great wine selection. Thin style pizza (or as my dad calls it, "diet pizza") with a yummy sauce and is perfectly baked. I recommend the Prosciutto Primavera pizza, but their Margherita 22 is delicious on it's own as well. Their happy hour is a great deal, as many others have raved about. For $5 you get your own smaller sized pizza, as long as you order a drink along with it. You'll end up spending at least $10. The staff are great, friendly, and personable. The owner is often around and casually checks in with customers, great guy. If it's busy, expect to get cozy with the table next to you. Some people hate this, but last time I went we had a great conversation with the people next to us which made our night. Being such a small restaurant, it is not great for groups of more than 4 since you might have to wait a while to sit together (don't let that stop you though, you could always order pizza to go!). I'd also recommend that isn't a great space for small children, since there isn't much room for strollers inside. In the summer however, there is much more room for seating outside, so that might be better suited for families or larger groups.

I was so excited when this place opened! First time I tried the pizza was when the owner catered my sister's wedding. He had a portable woodfire pizza oven and I fell in love right then! When I went to the restaurant I only fell harder, there is a pizza for everyone, plus you can end your evening with a woodfired smore!

I first tried pizza from these folks years ago when they had a mobile catering service called 'Inferno Pizza' (they may still have it), and at the time I remember that it was excellent. So when I heard they were opening a brick & mortar restaurant in my neighborhood, I was pretty excited. Well, I FINALLY got to visit last night and I wasn't disappointed... Fantastic Neapolitan pizza, a cute and cozy venue and a decent cocktail/beer selection. My wife and I shared the Insalata 22 salad, which was fresh and tasty, then she had the Al Pepperoni pizza and I the Pancetta, which was fantastic. This will definitely be a future 'date night' stop. Oh and I recommend the chili infused olive oil, it's got a nice kick!

This cozy place is a great but you need to get in early or start later for a seat. Anything is good off the menu and you are not limited to wine as they have a full bar. Come visit this tiny restaurant/bar with wood-fired pizza and super friendly staff!

Long/fun weekend adventure, wanted to order a delicious pizza en route home. Checked the website & called in. The girl who answered was abrupt and sassy. Not appreciating that. Asked if I'd "even looked at the menu" and then proceeded to act as though I was a half wit. Called Zeeks instead!!! Won't be going here anytime soon

I've actually been to Pizzeria 22 three times now. I love the idea of an intimate little pizza place on College street just far enough off California to really be an attraction to locals and not the Admiral Pub or Mission crowds. I think they did a nice job with the space, it's small and intimate, and the dim lighting gives it a nice atmosphere. I do highly recommend sitting as close to the front as possible as the rear, near the pizza oven, is very, very warm. The staff there isn't the best or friendliest I've ever been served by, they tend to no pay much attention to a single diner, maybe because the check and tip aren't as large as a table of four. My biggest problem though is the food. The pizza recipes on the menu are great and I love a good thin crust pizza but this place has something wrong with their recipe or their oven because each time I've eaten there the pizza crust just below the cheese and toppings has a paste like, doughy quality to it. Which is hard to believe because it's very thin and cooked in a super hot oven. It's hard to cut through and the pizza toppings slide right off. I've asked about it and received a less than acceptable response. One bartender even tried to blame it on moisture from the mushrooms. He replaced my pizza with another and it was no different. I hope they figure it out but so fat they haven't.but I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon.

It was a busy friday night. Very very worth the ONLY 15 minute wait. Throw out your idea of pizza and open your mind to pizzeria 22, because it will be blown. Scissors to cut slices! Yes! Local clam appetizer, excellent seasonal caprese salad. Perfect pizza. Want to go again tomorrow night!

We began the night waiting for a table, which meant standing outside for what felt like forever because, yikes, it's sooooo tiny in there! The bar takes up most of the restaurant and makes it virtually impossible to move from one end to the other. But whatever. It's cold, it's the middle of winter, not like that's their fault. But we waited...and waited...and waited. Finally a table opened up and even though it was cramped we were just happy to be inside. Hubby ordered a mexican coke (cool!) and we started in on our salad, the insalata verde. It was divine! The pancetta was perfectly crisp and they didn't overdo the dressing. Fresh and wonderful. Next we tried the stuffed mushrooms and I think I can safely say I could have eaten three more of that dish. Big, big recommend. We then moved on to the primavera and pizza bianco. I'd never been to a place where you have to slice your own pizza so that was a little bit of a suprise, but kind of fun! I'm a big fan of thin crust and nothing beats a wood-fired pizza so I was a happy girl! Judging by the two pizzas we orderd I'm pretty sure they're all equally awesome. My only complaint was that our server messed up our checks and charged us twice -which we didn't find out until it showed up on our bank statement. We called and were able to talk to the owner who was a bit grudging about the whole affair but assured us that he would take care of it. It took a while, but the charge dropped off and they sent us a 10% off coupon in the mail. I think we will definitely return, but definitely not at such a busy time. They have some tables set up outside so I'm thinking we'll probably be back in the spring :)

I went to Pizzeria 22 for the first time last night and LOVED it. First of all, there was a server and a bartender/server that were so helpful when it came to recommending drinks and menu items. It was like a breath of fresh air, the service was so attentive but not in your face, just the best possible combination of checking in on our table at the right times and actually listening and responding in a non-robot type way :) We ordered so much food! Multiple cocktails, appetizers, pizzas and dessert split between four people and it was all wonderful. I will definitely be back. Potential cons: It is a small venue so I understand there could be a wait but we were seated right away. I wouldn't come with a party larger than 4 though. As far as parking goes, we paid the $3 across the street rather than wander the narrow streets of Admiral, not a problem for us.

This is the way pizza is supposed to be, perfect. Owner is local making a dream come true. S'mores are off the hook!

Loved P22! Very reminiscent to Via Tribunali, but seemed more homey. It's cozy quarters between the bar seating and the table seating, so be prepared for that. Like other neighborhood neopolitan style pizzerias there's an authentic wood fire oven in the back corner doing all the work. LOVE. Before we even ordered we saw smores being prepped and placed into said oven. Brilliant! I'm not a smore eater, but I'm sure smore-lovers would like this a lot. We started with the stuffed mushrooms. We received a nice portion of 6 or 7 mushroom caps filled with cheese and set atop a lovely fresh tomato sauce. Hit the spot. The 'za we decided on was the Pizza Bianco. When it arrived it was slightly charred, piping hot, and still in one piece. P22 lets you do the cutting. I know some people don't like that, so I'm sure if you ask to have them slice it up they would probably oblige. I don't mind it myself. Anyway, the herbed ricotta was SO good, and crust was light and chewy, and perfectly cooked. Amazing. There's a full bar, and lots of beer and wine choices. They also have mexican coke if that's your thing. I'm so very happy to have yet ANOTHER pizza option in my hood. And Neopolitan to boot! Now I don't have to travel far to get my fix at Bar del Corso or VT :)

Good Neapolitan style pizza, very thin crust! My pizza had prosciutto, mozzarella and basil and it was tasty. The smores dessert is good too. This place is tiny and I've heard it's always packed so arrive early or prepare to wait. The sound can get noisy in there too, FYI. Good pizza, I recommend. Scissors to cut your pizza...kind strange but whatever.

Went with two friends of mine for a girls night. It was a little crowded but the staff changed the table around to accommodate us. I wasn't sure about the waiter at first, but he won us over by the end of the meal. All the food was....freaking awesome. The pizza was amazing and the salad we had before it was surprisingly good as well. The price was right as well, I seriously suggest going and getting a couple of pies to split.

First, let me say as someone who lived in Italy for many years, I was thrilled to have a pizzeria in West Seattle that served authentic wood-fired Napoli-style pizza. However, this is probably the worst pizza experience I've had in ages. The place is tiny, compact and deafening in volume. However, that could have been forgiven if the pizza had been made properly. Our pizzas came to our table charcoal burnt on the edges and silver dollar size black burn marks on the bottom. When, I told the waiter that this was not acceptable (if one tried to serve someone something like these in Italy, the restaurant would lose word of mouth in days), the waiter took them back to the pizzaiolo, who obviously didn't know how to keep turning the pizzas and he remarked that is how they are supposed to be! Then, the waiter suggested I was wrong about how pizzas are meant to be. Needless to say, we left and shall not return. Go to Tutta Bella instead or support Phonecia on Alki. Ma dai! ** Update. The owner reached out to me after contacting directly about our experience and offered an apology. I was really pleased with his dedication to customer service from the top. It is, however, the dedication which has to reach down to the actual dining experience that also matters. Without a qualified pizzaiolo, I can't imagine going back. An analogy comes to mind. Someone with passion builds a multi-million dollar recording studio and invites top artists to record there but in order to save money, hires a six-year-old to be the engineer. So, Pizzeria 22, I salute your efforts in bringing real pizza to West Seattle. Now, go the next step and hire some qualified people to make and serve it and you'll do fine. But remember, you only get one chance to make a first impression and you burnt it.

Meh. The pizza didn't overwhelm me and seemed a bit pricey for what you get. It annoyed me that so much effort went into the winelist and then the beer selection felt like an afterthought. Also not a fan of places that are so "cozy" that I bump into people trying to walk between the bar and table seating.

Quite liked all the food ordered. True Napoli pizza was delicious. I also ordered the sliced meat platter and that was incredible, especially for the price, which was quite inexpensive for the giant platter received. We sat at the counter/bar because the place is small and there was nowhere else to be without a wait, which would have had us standing outside in the cold. Turned out to be a treat because the two guys working the counter were hilarious. In speaking with the owner, he mentioned that they are probably taking over the space next door, so I look forward to the expansion.

First, we were seated at 2 top despite the waitress acknowledging that it was probably too cozy for 3 people. Second, food was just ok; nothing special. Pizza crust was bland but toppings were good (proscuitto and arugula). The insalata 22 was not worthy but the caprese was pretty good. The chili oil was a nice surprise. I like the cozy atmosphere, good customer service and mom and pop feel. It was by no means awful but just not worth returning to.

Our new favorite place in West Seattle. With the wood burning stove, the pizza comes almost as fast as the beers. Super friendly service and I love the music. Nice place to just hang out and have a beer.

We finally got here after seeing crowds of people outside on several occasions. West Seattle desperately need good Italian pizza place and we finally have one! We started our meals with salad. The salads were huge. We had the fresh mozzarella and tomato salad, which was simple and perfect. We also ordered the arugula salad, which was fresh, spicy and flavorful. We then ordered the arugula and prosciutto pizza. The crust was absolutely perfect. Chewy and smokey tasting. One of the best crusts I have had in Seattle. Served with fresh arugula and prosciutto just on top after it came out of the oven, exactly like it should be prepared. We loved this place and are so excited to have them in West Seattle!!

I am here to share with you that Pizzeria 22 is an absolute treasure for our West Seattle neighborhood.. They have a "Power Hour" from 4:00PM to 5:00PM.. That is a wonderful way to end your day/start your evening.. It is well worth your time to give it a try.. You will be very pleased you did/

I am a pizza snob. I prefer thin crust pizza to other types of crusts. This really is thin crust. Real thin crust is the approximate thickness of a cracker. Pat's pizza in Chicago has the crust down to an art and a science. This place does a decent job with the crust though it could be crispier. I enjoyed the sauce and cheese... they use good ingredients. Personally, I enjoyed sitting by the oven cuz I am usually cold. I was given a choice of seating by the person seating me and they were polite. We also had the chocolate calzone. We thoroughly enjoyed it. I am guessing that if you expect to be magically transported back to Italy when biting into this pizza, you will probably be disappointed (cuz we're in Seattle). If you want a decent thin crust pizza (for Seattle pizza, anyway) then you will probably be pleased.

I really like this place for the proscutto cutter and the oven. The happy hour $5 pepporoni pizza is great and it is nice small venue to warm up by the wood fired oven as in the rainy season. I also met the owner on the last visit and he is fun to listen to as he tells stories of his time cooking and traveling Italy.

Went there yesterday for the happy hour deal and man it's a great deal. Pizza was classic Neapolitan style pizza - thinner than this crust, fresh toppings, amazing sauce, you actually cut it with a large set of scissors!! That's how thin it is. The power hour (4-5 pm) was great - 8 inch pizza for $5 and cans of beer for $1. I love this style pizza and Pizzeria 22 does it as good as anybody in Seattle. I've been to Tutta Bella and Via Tribunali and this is better. Will definitely be back.

So I am new to the area and thought they served slices. Well, I was wrong but, man, was that ever some good pizza. I ordered the margherita 22 and ate the whole pie! One can request chile-infused oil to go with it which I highly recommend. It added a bit of punch and topped the pizza nicely.

So I love Neapolitan style pizza.. My absolute fav! But good Neapolitan pizza can be hard to find. However, since the owner of this place actually owns a pizzeria in Italy, I thought I better try it! I went with a friend on a Tuesday evening and we got lucky because it wasn't super busy. I just gotta say I love wood burning ovens for pizza and theirs is pretty sweet. Also that crazy slicer was bad-ass...I can't help it, I'm a cook myself! The service was great and the guy even sliced us a little prosciutto to try! Probably, the best I've had! And then the pizza, soooo good!! I was in Heaven! I had the Crudo... Basically a Margarita plus fresh sliced prosciutto on after cooking. It was perfect! All and all, a little pricy but everything was awesome and I'll be back soon for sure!

Best pizza place in West Seattle by far, perhaps even all of Seattle. I have only been here once but will visit this place regularly. Great pepperonis on the pizza and the crust is what really makes it. It has great flavor from the dough fermentation combined with the wood fired oven.

I've been hoping for a quality wood fire pizza in West Seattle and I finally got it. Great staff provided for a wonderful dinner with recommendations that proved so worthy. Carl had made an incredible concoction with figs that were perfectly in season, Jesse poured the perfect wine, and Kerry provided the perfect and informative host/owner. Thanks guys! I'll be back soon..

Watch out! I was adopted by Sicilans who owned a restaraunt (from Chicago)..I was very impressed with the food here. The service was great (I suspect the owner was my bartender) and he was very humble and obviously proud of his food. Rightfully so! The pizza is amazing! Thin and perfect crust and a POW! of delicious flavor without a huge mess of toppings.I also sampled the mushroom appetizer. That was amazing as well. They have a lovely roasted garlic cheese filling and come simmering in marinara..YUM! I decided to try one of their home created fresh juice coctails. I dont remember the name, but it was fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, bacardi,a liquer and their own special recipe cinnamon syrup.Absolutely Fabulous!! I also had the pleasure of a pint of an East coast local beer called Genny or Genesse. It went well with the food and all the while I could feel a strong sense of family here... If you are a' foodie' then this is the place for you. The location is a little off the beaten path but not hard to find at all.Definitely worth the search and once you find it,you wont forget it.I will definitely return soon (:D

Never again! The first couple of times we went the pizza was ok, not worth the price, much better pizza for the price elsewhere.... But my biggest complaint is the service.....each time it got progressively worse, this last time was probably the worst ive had in years....We sat there for a while before anyone even came to get drinks, our appetizer was wrong and the bartender/server was arguing with me about what I ordered.....our pizzas sat there by the oven when they were done for about 10 minutes before the pizza cook finally brought them over to us which by then they were soggy.......had to get up to ask for more water while the bartender was chit chatting..... After sitting there once again waiting for the server to come give us our check, it was wrong.....granted it was not by much but he acted like it was no big deal that it was wrong and then sat there and waited for about 15 minutes before he came over so we could cash out and then took his time to get the bill back to us after we had to get up twice to get any service! Needless to say when we came in it was not very busy. Very unprofessional staff! I was excited to have a pizza place close to home but I'll just stick with pags!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
