I liked it. Very mixed reviews made me a little skeptical about the Wingdome replacement in the neighborhood. Upon entering through the back patio, I was excited about the heated, covered patio back. I was grossed out, however, about the party with their little dog sitting on the table. Ew. Greeted by a staffer as we entered the actual restaurant and made our way to the counter to order. Mexican chopped salad with chicken for me - no beans and more corn, three taco platter for him. Cheap (but tasty) margarita and a Modelo beer = $34 dinner for two, plus a couple bucks in the tip jar. My salad came in a huge bowl and after asking for additional dressing and some cilantro, I was a happy camper. I was able to eat half and took home the other half in a burger sized box. The tacos looked pretty good, generously filled and didn't come with the double tortilla that you see around at other places, and pretty much just fill stomach space. Black beans and some green rice came with. A stroll through the salsa bar came up with some nice samplings. They could def stand to give you bigger plastic cups though. Another well-behaved dog was in the booth behind us, sitting on the floor where dogs belong.

We are from Phoenix and missed the great mexican food options. Glad we found this place and now we are regulars. Our favorites are the great nachos, tasty tortas and the posole is really delicious.

Not sure what the 1 star ratings are all about, but from my perspective, this place is great. Family friendly, locally sourced (and often organic&sustainable) food, friendly staff that cares about having a good time, AWESOME margaritas, great vegetarian options....I could keep going. At any rate, we have enjoyed our recent adventures at Pecado Bueno and have added them to our list of places we'll frequent. Not fancy, not stuffy, just a local spot to have some great grub in a chill environment.

The enchiladas and guac were really good. I didn't care for the house margarita though. Service was friendly and quick. I'll definitely go back.

This place is pretty tasty! The fish tacos were pretty tasty. However the "bowl of burrito" wasn't terribly anything special. Wasn't terrible, just wasn't anything I would crave again. You have to pay for the chips & salsa (and guacamole. So we got those (how can you have mexican food without chips and salsa?). And we love the we loved the salsa bar. I love being able to add different spice/flavors to my food. The vibe was pretty trendy, but there were lots of people with their kids there and they were definitely accommodating.

Overpriced and pretty bland. You don't get nearly as much as you pay for. I really liked the vibe. It wad very upbeat and fun. The horchata was very good but if you're looking for good Mexican food look somewhere else.

This place is such a great addition to the junction. Jake is by far the best new bartendar around. Friendly, fast, checks in on you often. Awesome. I try to go here every time I get a day off. Say ill just have one, but the service and atmosphere make me stay all night. Hope they stick around.

Listen to your locals!!!! Unfortunately I give this place 6-9 months (MAX) to survive. This place has to get it right or it will not make it. The food is much too expensive for counter service (keep it to around $10 -$12 per entree). Like the other review - it should be illegal to charge for chips and salsa (really??) and the flow of the place is confusing...why is the dirty plate drop off featured in the middle of the place? The food was decent, but West Seattle is fully of families and needs to have a kids menu. My 3 kids oftentimes choose the venue (and we eat out often). Once the weather changes...the cool outdoor eating area will no longer be an appeal and sadly, business will drop. Listen to your locals - we all think we are self proclaimed food critics and will show it by not being a repeat customer.

Went there for my first time for lunch today and had a Carnitas Burrito that comes with ample chips. The pork was so tender you could barely tell your teeth were going through meat, the cilantro rice they put in it is amazing, I really like that they use black beans rather than sloppy refried beans. I tasted every salsa at the salsa bar and everyone was really good, the habenero is actually not to hot (in comparison to most habenero sauce) and has a really nice smoky taste to it, perhaps it's chipotle/habenero? .. . And lets not foget that there are $6 DOUBLE margaritas all day every day, that makes coming back to work more enjoyable! Overall, it's not the BEST thing I ever ate which is why it's not 5 stars, but the price is COMPLETELY reasonable (I think cheaper that Taco Guymas down the street and WAY cheaper than Matador), the food is of very high quality, and the dude working at lunch there is SUPER friendly and talks to everyone like he has known him for years. I can only assume the bad reviews on here are the same people that give everything in West Seattle which has another location else where bad reviews. Pull your heads out of your "you-know-what's" and stop complaining about everything. I GREW UP in West Seattle, most of the new WS hipsters complain West Seattle is loosing it's local feel and they haven't even lived here 10 years. \end rant

I, like a couple of other ppl here, am confused by the low ratings! This place is amazing, yes it's not as fancy as Matador, but the food is equally delicious if not better. What I love about Pecado is that it's never busy, you can literally walk in there at 5:50pm and not have to worry about the cut off to make happy hour. You order your food at the counter and can either pay up front or leave a tab open, and then they bring the food to your table. The chicken taquitos are delicious and the open salsa bar is awesome! It's nice knowing you won't have to pay extra for a side of jalapenos! This place is not for ppl who go to the Junction because they want to be "seen," it's straight and to the point, just good old fashiond eatery. I've been here about 3 times and I haven't been disappointed yet. Plus the staff are actually very friendly!

Really enjoyed it. Great food & ambiance plus it's very affordable. Amazing service. I felt right at home. Plus - great margaritas!! Def 4 stars

As a resident of West Seattle, I was pretty stoked to see this place open up inside the old Wing Dome location. Sure, we have a ton of Mexican-American options on California, and most are average at best. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner and we weren't disappointed! I got some carne asada tacos and he got cheese enchiladas. The tacos came with an avocado cream sauce that was pretty delish. I like that they serve whole beans instead of bland refried beans, and their green rice had a really good blend of spices. The best part was their $3.35 margaritas. That's a non-happy hour price! Their menu advertised that they used triple sec and lime juice instead of sour mix, but it still tasted like sour mix was used. But who cares for $3.35? And I totally don't mind bussing my own table. You do it at home, it's not hard, guys. We'll be back!

As promised I went back this past Monday and saw some great improvement. The trash cans were somewhat coverd so that's a major improvement, BUT still compost , trash and recycling aren't labeled.Frustrating since its such an easy fix... The service was friendly and this time someone came out to help bus our table, which we really appreciated. I had the organic chicken mole and it tasted great, I also had the 7 layer bean dip, not a fan but everyone else at our table enjoyed it. I'd still like to see the salsa bar moved and raised, I saw a lot of young kids serving up their own salsa which would be fine if they had adult supervision. Last but not least please get numbers to deliver food to the table. The poor staff have to yell out the customers name through out the entire restaurant and it gets really annoying while trying to have a conversation. I really like patio, the fire pit is a nice touch, I wonder if they plan to cover the patio come rainy season. It would be a waste of a beautiful patio if they don't.

We went on opening night and they were definitely still working out some kinks, so things may have improved. That said, service was pretty slow, and the layout of the restaurant made very little sense to me. There is a salsa bar in the middle of the restaurant, right where other people are waiting in line to order, and others are bussing their tables, or picking up silverware/napkins. We spent our entire time in the restaurant bumping into people at every stage of the meal. Food was decent.

Very fresh Mexican food! Such a nice surprise. Good prices, made from scratch, casual. Butternut enchiladas rock, as does the salsa bar! Will be back

I always just assume there will be kinks when a new restaurant opens, but I was willing to give this place a shot because it's refreshingly new and right by my office. Convenient! I got there right when they opened and found the front counter person to be super friendly and nice. I ordered and my take-out order came promptly. He offered me small dishes to bring salsa with me as well. The grilled chicken quesadilla was moist and flavorful. And, that's huge because we all know grilled chicken can be dry and tasteless. Thanks for satisfying my craving and being so nice too!

Great happy hour! We use to frequent the Fremont pecado bueno and since we moved we were happy to see it come to west seattle! The torta and the tacos are our favorite ! And really who can beat a $3.35 margarita!!!

We had lunch here over the weekend. First time, had great hopes. We were sorry to see Wing Dome go, not for the food but for the patio. Food was disappointing, beans were blah..no seasoning ? 3 of us each ordered different dish, all lacked any distinct feature...best thing going was the fresh picante..we each added to our dishes. We will return but if next time isn't a better food experiance, it will not get a third time. We want this place to suceed , but they need to come up from where they are now...or they won't.

  • Steve D.

Horrible. This is a fast food joint with a booze license. Honestly, I can't think of one kind thing to say about this dirty, unimaginative, poor value mediocrity. There are plenty of not-so-great Mexican joints in West Seattle and this one isn't even a little bit good.

    (1)
  • Steve A.

Visited here a few times more since my last review, and much has improved! I saw some old faces from the Fremont location and some new staff that were very helpful. The only thing I can complain about is the portion size - I feel like I need more than one dinner to feel satisfied and two is too much. Last thing - it's confusing whether you bus your own table or not, but I guess it goes both ways.

The carne asada platter features a microwaved piece of rubber and the Chicken Mole tasted like it had been sitting out for days. We will not be back.

  • Lise T.

The food was ok, the service lacking, the salsa bar a mess. The menus are at the counter/register which is towards the back, I recommend placing some menus by the entrance so people can look at them while waiting in line to order.

Pequado bueno is an excellent place to visit, super friendly staff, very home like environment once you sit down for a while, my wife and I always end up in a discussion with someone at the bar either about football or the delicious Coconut mojito!!! (Cause we always order one each) over all great place! We recommend this place OVER matador

Possibly the worst margarita ever... Food is average. Patio is best part.

So my husband who loves Mexican food wanted to try out this new restaurant he saw on the WSB but could not remember the name only that it was in the old wing dome. Trying to find the restaurant's name to confirm it was open, was the first challenges of the evening (they have not even updated their own website to reflect the second location in West Seattle? The second challenge, the restaurant is more like a lunch walk up service counter and not really a "restaurant" with sit down service. Third, the menu is hard to navigate, and fourth they ran out of Milk? Fifth they tried to sell us a glass of Black Box wine for $5? The whole box costs $15 at Safeway??? And sixth our Nachos literally came with zero cheese on them? They must have been out of cheese too? The tacos did not have any on them either. Seventh, they were out of kid cups yet this is a kid friendly restaurant? And even with happy hour prices our meal came to $50 including a TIP? A tip? What for? It is like McDonalds, you order at the cash register, you get your own condiments from the condiment table and when you drink is ready they yell the order is ready for pick up at the bar? Hmmmmm about the only service you get is they bring your food out to you but then again so does KFC and Taco Time when you are waiting for food? At any rate, our expectations were not met but now we know. It is just another fast food Mexican take out window so be sure you have the right expectations before you go.

The food was delicious. The service was pretty decent. The Jalapeño chocolate chip cookie was unique. The drinks were reasonable.

Delicious Mexican food and options, options, options. They also have $4.50 margaritas and $6.50 doubles. Who the hell has anything to complain about that? Enchiladas are bomb, the rice is delicious and these are the only beans I will eat really. Everybody there is incredibly helpful, the food comes out fresh and hot, and the salsa bar has awesome variety. Portions are generous and flavors are spot on. My friends love the mole although I can't speak for the mole's authenticity. I actually prefer this one to the Fremont location (although I originally fell in love with the original one) because of the larger patio, the amazing trellis with plants and the cute little water fountain. I would much rather make the little trek up to the Junction for some Pecado Bueno love than anywhere else on Alki.

This is a great restaurant and I am here weekly for the atmosphere, drinks, and food. On California Ave, you can't beat this place on a sunny day. There are two large garage doors in the front to open it up, and an incredible patio with a fire pit in the back. The staff is great, friendly, and quick to get your order out to you. They can; however, get very, very busy when the weather is nice, so plan on having some drinks while waiting on your food when the sun is out. The bar is pretty limited, mostly catering to margaritas and mojitos (This is not a cocktail bar). If you are a margarita drinker go for the scratch or Cadillac as the House margarita is tequila, triple sec, and lime juice and can be quite tart. If you go with the House ask for a splash of simple syrup to sweeten it up. The food here is good, but can come off a bit bland depending on what you order. Do not forget to flavor it up with use of their awesome salsa bar. Taco Tuesday is rad with BOGO, and I am a fan of the Wet Burrito with all three sauces. The restaurant is kid friendly, as well as dog friendly with the large patio seating in back. They also love there neighboring West Seattle business owners and employees giving a locals discount. Pecado is worth checking out! Note: If you love beer, go to the Beer Junction and order food from Pecado, they will walk it up to you in no time.

I dunno about the rest of the week or the rest of the menu, but their cod fish tacos on taco Tuesdays are DA BOMB DIGGITY. They were super fresh, not at all greasy or fishy or old tasting. They have a buy one get one free deal Tuesday's and offer a variety of tacos (cod, pork, carne, and even squash--which I will try next) and they are a decent size with a good amount of fillings. The salsa bar is awesome, lots of options; I paired my fish tacos with the mango salsa, yum!! It wasn't too busy or loud there and we got a seat right away. The service was also great- you stand in a line to order and they call your name but we actually had our food brought to us and the bartender even came over to bus our table too which was nice. I will definitely be back.

This place, how on earth can their sauces be sooo good! Nom, nom, nom! I first went here for an all you can eat taco night that supported building houses for families in Ensenada, Mexico. The owner let all funds for the taco night be used to pay for materials to build and outfit these houses. SO AWESOME! The owner is also known for doing charitable events, so I felt good spending my money at a business that likes to pay it forward. Good food and good people in charge, well done Pecado Bueno! As for the food, everything was great from the consistency of the tortillas, the seasoning and consistency of the meat, and the amazing sauce and salsas! The staff was attentive and quick, and I finally got a margarita that wasn't sickeningly sweet! That is so hard to find! It was tasty and generous on the tequila! Great food, great people, great margarita; I strongly recommend this restaurant!

Discovered this place while looking for a breakfast burrito one Sunday morning in July. Burrito was good-sized, tasty and included nicely-done potatoes that didn't leave me feeling like I had a brick in my stomach. We tried a few different salsas from the salsa bar and ended up going back for seconds of the mango salsa. Great place to grab breakfast and people-watch with the farmers market right out front. Looked like they also had a nice back patio. Service was friendly and quick. We'll be back!

Nice open area in the front to sit in summer time and the back patio is lovely. My brother in law had the ceviche which was just ok and have had way better else where. My husbands prawn tacos were good and my carne asada tacos were yummy..our daughter had a strawberry lemonade drink that tasted really good except there were lots lemon seeds in it staff didn't seem too happy especially the bartender. The guys cooking in the back looked happier...hard to say if we'll come back or not. Maybe as a last resort.

I've never written a review for a lackluster salad before, until now. Apparently the general consensus is that the food at Pecado Bueno is enjoyable, and it probably is, but my salad today was a complete waste of $10. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Chop Chop salad which (according to the menu) comes with Romaine, avocado, corn, tomatoes, black beans, roasted pasilla peppers, 3 cheeses, creamy roasted pasilla dressing. In reality, I received a bed of romaine with chunks of seasoned chicken, enough black beans, corn and tomatoes for 2 bites of salad, and zero roasted pasilla peppers. If there was cheese on that salad, I couldn't see it or taste it. Even with the dressing, the salad was incredibly bland. I ate half of the salad before tossing it in the trash. My co-worker ordered the same salad and was also disappointed with the portions and lack of flavor. I would be open to trying Pecado Bueno in the future, possibly, but overall I'm disappointed with this first experience.

  • Shellie C.

Very disappointing, it's very cute and has a great patio! But... All tables were dirty, with empty dish racks parked next to eating areas, only simple syrup for ice tea, and not one smile from an employee.

  • Chris B.

Meh. The food was decent but there were a number of small things that gummed up the whole experience. One was my biggest pet peeve: that there is a tip line on the ticket when you order first and then when you sit down at the table there are signs asking you to bus it yourself. So, for what are they asking for tips, ringing me up, walking the big plate of meh to my table? The other peeve has to do with animals walking around in the restaurant. So there I am chewing on my dry, bland taco watching this little Boston terrier gnawing on its own pooper wondering who has the worst dinner. I also don't understand the name on the signage, Pecado Bueno... sin well. That's not actually what that means.

  • Chani L.

Actually prefer this place to Matador across the street. Laid-back atmosphere, super friendly bartenders, and great food. Their coconut mojitos are on point. Also have an outdoor seating area for when the weather gets nice. They also allow dogs inside.

Starting our take-out order with jalapeño chocolate chip cookies at the register was a good idea. What followed was even better! Our meals included the pork carnitas burrito, chorizo and egg torta and roasted butternut squash tacos. Not a bad bite in the lot! There are so many dishes here to choose from, I just need to go back and order one of everything. $3 agave margarita. Salsa bar.

  • Jessica D.

Let's start off with how we were told to bus our own table (before we sat down- so, someone else's dirty dishes and food). That was super cool. Then we ordered food, one of the items we ordered was missing. The prices are stupid high for what they offer. Now let's talk about the food. My taquitos were so over cooked I almost chipped a tooth biting into them, the "chicken" in the taquitos was rubber and inedible. The rice and beans had literally no flavor at all. How do you do that?!?! I will never come back and I will tell anyone who is hungry to avoid this place. Completely disgusting.

  • Ryan L.

Food is good. Salsa bar is a nice touch to accompany their meals. The staff is horrible. Not ONE of them is nice. I am sitting on the patio as I type and witnessed the waitress point at the napkins on a staff stand when a customer asked. The other staff are just as bad. Good food, bad environment.

I love supporting local businesses, and I love Mexican food...but, this place is very strange to me. Is it fast food, is it a restaurant? You order at the counter and grab your own condiments, yet the prices feel more restaurant style. And the often- mentioned tip line on the receipt, for zero service (although I concede they are not alone in this practice). For example, chips and the "salsa bar" trip is nearly $6. Huh? The chips were stale and basic, although the salsa was tasty. But they are also tasty at Baja Fresh, so my needs are fairly simple on this front. The nachos were cold, which made it feel very cold taco salad style. I'm not sure how the cheese got melted since the dish was cold, and since it just traveled about 10 steps to get to me. Overall, I don't get it. I just know that I was bummed it was so sub-par.

  • Koji B.

I had the three happy hour chicken tacos. They were very good and seared just perfectly the chicken that is. Nice thing about this place is that they have a condiment island where you can have lots of different choices of sauces and fixings. The sauces were surprisingly tasty! You order at the counter so there is no real service. Friendliness of staff was just mediocre but that will keep me from coming back as I've been there a couple times before. I'd have to see be happy our chicken tacos are the best things I've tried so far. Definitely a win to go here.

I really like this place. Been there twice. Had taco's the first time and the enchiladas with Verde sauce the second. Overall I thought the food was excellent. Atmosphere is relaxed, nothing fancy but comfortable. You order at the counter. My only to suggestions would be to serve the beer colder and hold off on so many onions in the pico de gallo. I'll be back for sure and will bring friends. .

  • Ruby S.

This place is...*sigh* The two stars is for the food because its good, but everything else is NO BUENO. Its really expensive. Its mexican food. I don't get it. You order at a corner of a counter, checkers (I guess there are no servers) they hastily take your order, you are supposed to know that you go to the corner of the counter, order off of cluttered chalkboard (after a few minutes they get frustrated and hand you a menu), you are supposed to know to sit down ( nobody says anything) wait for your food. Of course there's a tip line....so tip these checkers. I don't tip the Safeway checkers and they even ask me how I'm doing. Ugh after all this I didn't even want to take the time to write a review... Save the confusion and money and go elsewhere.

I ordered 3 soft tacos, carne asada. During happy hour. I paid 10$ + change before tip. They were tasty but not really worth the price. Service was friendly. When I'm back in west seattle this might not be my first choice.

This place has grown on me. They had a bit of a rough start, but I've given them a chance, and its gotten better and better each time I return. I appreciate that they have a nice brunch menu on weekends (great chilaquiles) and that you can order from the beer junction next door and they will deliver on real plates. I look forward to returning.

Bad Burrito Value. For $8.95, you get a small burrito made up of bland, watery meat, rice and black beans. Accompanied by room temperature and boring chips. Even If I'd not have spent two of the past four weeks in SF having amazing taqueria experiences, the Pecado burrito would be a bad meal in any context. And $21,75 for one pork burrito, one kid's rice & bean burrito plus chips / salsa is a total rip off, especially given the food's insipid qualities. Note, burritos do come with chips, but not sure if salsa sides are comp.

This place is pretty good. Driving around West Seattle on Memorial Day, we were hungry and looking for a lunch spot. The patio at this place immediately drew us in, with the upbeat Zumba music playing (it was definitely the Zumba pandora station) and festive atmosphere. We liked the salsa bar, particularly the salsa verde and pickled onions. They seem to be paying attention to their reviews, because they do charge $2 for chips, but gave them to us at no charge because we're "locals." Well, we aren't, but thanks! The burrito bowl was pretty good. It really needed some crema or guacamole, but as it was already $9, I didn't want to pay extra. Quinn got the carnitas burrito and he said it was okay. It also could've used some sauce, but the salsa did help. I agree with other Yelpers: it's not quite right for the price. For a burrito and burrito bowl and water, I paid over $18. The food was fine, but nothing special. I'd say it's about as good as Qdoba. I think we'd return for happy hour, as the nachos looked pretty yummy.

This is the true epitome of a friendly neighborhood bar / restaurant. The staff here is friendly and seems to know everyone by name. Erin and Rafael are my favorites, they are nice and so much fun. I highly recommend the guacamole, margaritas and the house ceviche. Also sit at the bar for the true experience.

I tried this place a year ago and it was awful ,but I believe everyone has an off day so I gave it another try and I'm so glad I did, we go there every Saturday now after work and have dinner and drinks. The food is great the service is great ! And love the patio!

Walking by & decided to stop in for a quick bite. They serve breakfast until 2pm on the weekends which I was very happy about. Decided on the Huevos Rancheros- 2 eggs over medium, ranchero sauce, cotija cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, green rice, black beans & choice of flour or corn tortillas on the side. All the ingredients were super fresh and I really enjoyed the homemade salsa bar. Would definitely add meat (chorizo or carne asada) next time & add extra ranchero sauce they were a lil skimpy on it. The prices were very reasonable & food came out fast will definitely be back to try dinner or happy hour.

First time here and not really impressed. There were flies everywhere. We had to wait 45 minutes to get our food. I ordered the chicken mole with corn tortillas and my husband ordered fish tacos. The mole was lackluster. I've had better at El Quetzal and Baja Bistro. I also tried the margarita and it was horrible. I could only take one sip. My husband had a vodka soda. He was pleased with his orders. Lastly, whoever hired the kind man at the cash register should give him a raise. He was the cashier, bartender and server. There should be more employees as the wait time at this place was ridiculous for what I ate and drank! We will not be coming back!

I'm going to go against the tide and say this place was better on the Grand Opening. We went the first night, stumbled upon it really, and thought it was pretty good and were hopeful that it would just improve. It has not improved. Capped off with our third and last visit that resulted in a not appreciated closeness with the porcelain throne. That was an awkward day at work. Ugh. Not again. The patio is the highlight of this location, and I'm looking forward to the next owners so I can continue to enjoy it. The interior is awkward at best, and extremely loud as many have noted. It's also kinda dumpy, and dirty. It was sparkly on the first day, it just seems like no one has bothered to scrub anything since.

Alright, I may be an uptight West Seattleite after all... I grew up in Texas with flavorful Mexican food and this place is exactly what two stars signifies: Meh. I've experienced better. Just go down across the street to Matador if you want some delicious food that is the exact same price. Basically, definitely a place to try out but not if you want to grab some appropriately priced food. The chicken taquitos (more like flautas but whatever) were pretty tasty but didn't really scream, "I AM WORTH ALL OF THIS MONEY!" And same with the eight layer dip. Might as well just go to QFC/Safeway and buy the prepackaged dip. Also, the white sangria is death... DON'T DRINK IT! As for ambience... it was alright. They could definitely use a better set up for the water and salsas. Right where the line begins is probably not the best place to put these things... but if you have to keep it there how about a sign that reads, HERE IS YOUR DIP STATION and then another sign that reads, and THERE IS WHERE THE LINE BEGINS! Just a thought.

Visited today for happy hour. Food was alright, the onions were very prominent in the pico de gallo. Ordered the taco trio and the taquitos. Taquitos were dry but the meats were ok. Also bought a pair of margaritas. Made with El Jimador, very light on the lime. They were also premixed behind the bar which was not impressive, margaritas are not hard to make with good ingredients. Overall, I'll only be back if I am meeting friends for a quick bite.

Great atmosphere and friendly service. Great community events and fund raiser. The menu is full of delicious options.

Man, this place is great! Awesomeness #1: This is the only place, the ONLY place that I know of that makes margaritas correctly (2 parts tequila, 1 part triple sec/cointreau (not sure which they use, actually), 1 part lime juice). It's simple, but even places that attempt to be "upscale" to some degree, use a mix. Elsewhere, it's over sweet and blah. Here, it's perfect: citrus, tequila, and triple sec, which is what you're supposed to taste when you have a margarita. and at happy hour... THEY'RE ONLY $3.50!!! Unbelievable. Awesomeness #2: I got 3 tacos, chicken, for $7.50. It filled me up. The seasoning was delicious. The tacos were packed with stuff. Awesomness #3: The service! Please keep in mind, this is a place where you pay at the counter before your food arrives, and you bus your own table. But that translates to lower prices for excellent quality food. On top of that, we were served immediately, our food came less than 5 minutes after paying, and the service was friendly and sincere! We are going to be coming here a lot...I have a feeling it will become our summer spot.

Everything about Pecado Bueno is excellent. The employees are awesome! The food is delicious, and I love that it's organic. If people are complaining about the price they must not know that they use organic and local food (as much as possible)! Definitely cannot go wrong with the nachos yum. And the guacamole is my favorite part. Everyone has their own experience so check it out!! They even play the sound for the Seahawks games woooo!!!

FOOD POISONING -- 09/03/2013 (Dinner time between 6:00-7:00pm) I ordered a basic chicken burrito and a tap water, that's it. I had nothing else to eat that day, other than some leftovers (egg casserole dish). I'm not 100% sure what the tainted ingredient was, but I put copious amounts of the green salsa onto the burrito. I remarked to my wife that it tasted odd, but I ate it anyway. I felt fine until around 1am or so and then all the horrible stuff that you normally associated with food poisoning started. I did those horrible things until about 6am, when it abated just enough to allow me to get some sleep. It's around 4pm the next day and I'm still -- well, I'm still doing the Aztec two-step. :( Awful.

I like this place. i had the baja avocado caesar with shrimp and it was great, and they added a side of ceviche a a bonus. Dude behind the counter was friendly, and brought my dog water out on the patio (yes, dog friendly and patio!). can't beat a nice saturday afternoon with sun, salad, and a glass of wine. it wasn't very busy. After reading a bunch of less than stellar reviews, maybe my expectations were pretty low. But I'll happily come back. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is I really do like having a server instead of ordering at a counter. But whatever :)

My wife and I discovered this place while walking up to Beer Junction one weekend. We took a look at the menu, thought it sounded decent, and vowed to check it out. We did so last week. First, the good. They've got a really cool fire pit and deck in the back that's covered so you can even enjoy it during Seattle's rainy season. The decor inside is very casual and welcoming to everyone with no pretensions. On the night we were there, despite being busy, the staff was all smiles and very friendly. Also, their salsa bar was quite enjoyable, although awkwardly-placed near where people stand in line to place orders. Not the best salsa I ever had, but they were all quite unique. The Habanero was my favorite. I ordered the carne asada platter, medium rare, which included a side of green rice, black beans, and tortillas. I was a bit surprised that the cut of meat that came out wasn't the thinly sliced, well-marbled cuts I was used to when I order carne asada. I couldn't tell you what the cut was, but it was a whole hunk of rather lean beef that was definitely over-cooked. I also wasn't really blown away by marinade they used on it. Not very tasty compared to carne asada I have had in other restaurants. The green rice faired much better. Really simple and tasty. Thumbs up there. The beans, unfortunately, left me pretty flat. Very little flavor at all. My wife had the mole which she said was pretty decent, although she had hoped it would've been a bit more chocolatey. Then again, that's the thing with molés... everyone kind of has their own twist. My wife also had a margarita, which she enjoyed. We'll definitely give this place a try again (particularly curious about their breakfasts), but overall impressions of our first trip? Serviceable at best. If I worked in the area, I might eat lunch there every now and then, but it's not a place I'd drag out of town guests to in order to impress them. I hope they can work out the rough edges, because it would be very welcome in the area.

Too expensive, too salty, small portions. West Seattle really needs a GOOD Mexican restaurant, please!! I don't like the way this place is a semi-service yourself kind of place. Not worth tipping in my opinion. My husband, son and myself came in for tacos and ended up spending nearly70.00. That's just too much for tacos.

Overpriced. - Horrible/Rude Service. Food is meh...at best. I asked for some chips with my meal (which was already overpriced) and was told that would be another $5. Really, $5 for a couple chips? Your kidding? Your food is not that great and your employees are disengaged and rude and on top of that you want to charge $5 for chips. Just go to one of the other 4 mexican restaurants within 2 blocks of this place.

West Seattle is pretty much lacking for Mexican food. There's reliable old Guaymas which is okay but not great. There's El Chupacbra which has a mean vibe and nasty food, Cactus which is more Tex Mex and upscale. Or there's Puerto Vallarta which, when it's not having skirmishes with the law, is of the gloopy cheese and smashed beans genre,This place slides in as a slightly hipstery,(lots of wacky facial hair on the staff) but solid Mexican Joint. You order at the counter and then have table service after that which I like. They offer several kinds of fillings for the tacos including carnitas, squash carne asada and chicken. We had a variety and ordered a platter that also came with beans and rice. All the meats were moist and tasty, the beans very rich and nicely cooked. People have complained about the salsa bar but we found it plentiful, clean and very good, especially salsa verde and the Pico De Gallo. Add in the nice environment(mexican kitsch) and the 3.50 margaritas and you have a nice, cheap meal.

We used to drive all the way over to Fremont and now it's close to home!! Yay!! We went to the West Seattle location with high hopes because of all our amazing experiences at Fremont. As expected, we were NOT disappointed!! Our waiter, Rafael was amazing and adorable. He obviously loves his job. He suggested the chilaquiles which we did order. Yummytown!!! We will definitely be back sooner than later........probably tomorrow. Welcome to West Seattle Pecado Bueno!!

Dogs allowed..,nuff said. But I'll say more, when the employees come from behind the counter and feed the dog, that's going way over the line. I ordered nachos took about 7 bites then left drink and unfinished nachos sitting on table - that's how disgusted I was.

Good food, slightly overpriced and mild tasting but well thought out menu. I ordered the Chorizo and egg torta. Delicious, a little greasy, excellent surprise with the tomatoes and pickled jalapeños. Also a fan of the Fremont location and their tacos.

Raised the rating to 3 stars after having brunch last week. Food was very tasty, large portion and the service was OUTSTANDING. Still pricey for brunch, but figured it was worth an extra star after this visit.

Better than I expected. I've only been here once for breakfast after a stroll through the farmers market on Sunday. There was only one other family in here so it was nice that we didnt have to wait. I had the huevos rancheros, could have used more sauce..I'll be sure to ask for extra next time. My bf had a torta & he really liked it. It was huge & cheap. The salsa bar is rad. Although I don't know why there needs to be dairy in the green salsa =/ I'll be back to try some of the other food. The chilaquiles look good on someone else's table! Bottom line: tasty, affordable, good for groups.

A surprising find. I wouldn't say this place is amazing. I also didn't think they were just another regular Mexican place. Surprised by their selection. By the quality and the different menu items. Jalapeno chocolate chip cookie - must be a signature. Smart move. Fish and chips - great quality fish for fish and chips and actually more fish than breading (that is a total surprise) Excellent corn on the cob with their secret rub (I don't know if it is a secret - just sounds fun to say that). Nice and pleasant staff. We ended up there because we went to dinner at Azuma's and they were super busy. We saw this place and sort of walked in as a "I guess this will do" and were very pleasantly surprised. We will be regulars.

It is hard to make tacos that wow people. Tacos are fairly basic and need to be a staple at a Mexican restaurant. They were basic, standard tacos. Your mother from the EU would have cried they were so basic. Okay, maybe not that bad. I wasn't feeling the Mexican love from the kitchen. Maybe I should have had more to drink. Oh about the drinks, don't try to impress me with the large glass full of ice with a mini shot of mixed drink for $6-8 a glass. I see right through that bull....all marketing. The guys in the kitchen need to focus and specialize. The barkeep, just use a standard 8oz glass, mix well and serve. One more thing. It is October, turn the heat on. You can't serve me have enough alcohol to not feel the frost on the bar...unless you make a fire with it.

Fast service and great food. This has quickly become a favorite of mine. I LOVE their pozole verde. It's one of those things where I go in and think, "I'm getting something different this time." But then always end up with the pozole. Plus, you get a generous amount of chips with your order. I've been several times now and the food has always been good. Gets a little loud when it's packed, but the food is worth it.

I was warned this place was awful and it definitely met those expectations. Ordered the tacos, which were very meh. The only beer they had on draft was macro. The place was a mess and was overrun with kids. The staff seemed mildly annoyed I was there. One weird issue - all the TVs were off and no music was playing, which added to the uncomfortable vibe. If your looking for cheap, bottom shelf drinks or over-priced, mediocre food, this is your place.

Good margaritas and decent tacos.. If the price was a little less it may even me worthy of a 4 star rating. But the food wasn't as good as the price we paid for it. My friend complained that the margarita she has was too salty.

I visited Pecado Bueno last night with my girlfriend a little under an hour before closing. This is definitely a great addition to West Seattle. They have late night happy that starts at 9PM to close which is super cool if you plan on eating more HH at nearby restaurants that start at 10PM. Their house double margarita was delicious, strong, and only $6.50. We only came for drinks, but the service and friendliness along with the quality of the drinks justifies regular visits. Jake the bartender is a really cool guy and serves mid-shelf liquor in well cocktails. And they were only $5. Don't know how much better it can get! We will be back! They have a pretty awesome breakfast selection too!

The first two times we stepped in for a peek, we just didn't get why we would want to stay, "This is a mess but, oh well, at least it's a bit pricey." The general appearance of the place was a bit grim and the collection of topping tubs looked like compost so the fruit flies had gathered accordingly. Bent on supporting our locals, we saddled up tonight and went in thinking hot cooked food should be safe. We ordered quesadillas, a burrito and cervezas to wash 'em down. Keep in mind that I am writing this review a few hours after eating so the food has had time to make us both feel pretty lousy but I'll try not to be biased by that and just stick with facts. We sat at the bar because the bar was offered as a place to get full service. Apparently 'full-service' does not include plates or forks and stuff. In fact, there weren't even plates out for self-service. Note to owners, don't brag about all the toppings you offer and encourage us to use them when you served our food in open baskets. Baskets don't hold much of anything for very long. I don't care where else you saw this happen but quesadillas and burritos are not served in baskets; not to seated customers and certainly not if you're charging restaurant prices. Google the words quesadilla and burrito for images and notice they are ALL on plates, every one. I will give you some plates if you can't afford them or pick some up at Goodwill but do get some plates. I would recommend that the owners check out Chupacabra and take notes because I want Pecado to survive by improving the experience. Other than the above, they're in a great location with a good view. Out the window you have a view of restaurants across the street with people eating food on plates.

The previous reviews tell the tale, but I am a person who forms my own opinion. Based on the level of competition on this block, you have to have great food, great service and reasonable prices if you plan to be competitive. Even though the banner said Grand Opening, these guys were not ready. When you factor in that this is the 2nd location, they have no excuse for not being better prepared. The posted menu did not reflect all items, specials and prices. According to the website, we were there doing Happy Hour, but the prices and selections were not honored. We also had to ask when we were going to get our sodas and the cashier advised it was self service to which I replied, why didn't you give up glasses when we paid and ordered? The food came quickly and was pretty tasty, however based on prices and service this place is a total fail. It also didn't help with employees talking about how much money they would make once the word get's out. Food: B Prices: F Service: F Bottom Line : D I would also like to thanks James of Pecado Bueno for his childish comment. Instead of stepping to the plate and taking ownership of the issue, he has resorted to blaming customers for the poor service and high prices. Keep stealing from the rich, Robinhood, merry men won't support a fool stealing from the righteous.

As I approached the restaurant from the back I was very excited. The back patio was very cool with a fireplace surrounded by a tall table, a fountain and just a very cool set up. As we entered the restaurant all that outdoor patio bliss left my mind and I was hit with NOiSE loud NOISE. Me and my friend couldn't even talk. You have to order at the counter and then find a table. They were quick about getting the table cleared and helping us find a seat. I ordered the chicken mole' It was cold like it was in the fridge. They re made it and the second time it was steaming hot, but there was bones in it. I didn't really like it anyway My friends sweet potato taco was the bomb the pork tacos were salty. The 5.95$ salsa bar is a bit over priced but the pineapple salsa was the bomb, the pineapple salsa is the only reason this place got any stars. :(

What's up with everyone complaining? Are west Seattlelites a bunch of picky bastards or what? Oh no, the salsa bar is messy! Guess what it's your fault, employees didn't make it that way! Anyways, awesome food, awesome margaritas, can't complain!!!! I'm a regular from when their only location was in Fremont, so having it close to home is only a plus. Jake is the best bartender ever, and their service has never lacked. Please ignore the picky West Seattlelites and give this place a shot. Way better than any Mexican place within a 5 mile radius!

This place has a few things going for it, it's got nice spot, clean and upbeat ambiance, but if we get down to what counts, and that's the food I was disappointed. It was very expensive for what you get and then the quality and taste did not make you feel any better about the price. They do have a nice salsa bar which is a plus, but you can do much better off heading a few blocks north on California and eating at Picas, that's where I'll be choosing from now on.

They are putting everything in line, just like most new restaurants, they've had a rough start. I've been for drinks many times but finally got reeled in for fish tacos on their official opening on Saturday sept 14th. Tacos were amazing (and 99 cents a pop), they poured me a monstrous shot of buffalo trace and comped it because I live in the hood. These guys are all good in my book, and won a new customer, albeit a cheap one!!

I have to agree with my husband. What are all the complaints about!? But I have no doubt that in time the reviews will compare with the Fremont location. We became loyal customers with the Fremont location and are so thrilled to have them in our West Seattle neighborhood now! They're so amazing. And I get an amazing buzz with their cheap margs! Jake is incredible. No surprise there if you read the reviews. And Paul makes you feel like you belong. Definitely hope to see him on occasion at the West Seattle location. And the food is sensational. We will be back again and again and again.

Back again - enchiladas & taquitos. Food still excellent. Charging as they do for chips & salsa bugs me. Prices not cheap keeping me from making it a regular stop. BUT food has verb excellent every visit.

Good concept poorly done. Based on my two visits: Drinks - Out of all Mexican Tap Beers each time - WTF? This is a Mexican place! This is Seattle, you need more than 4 choices for tap beer and if that's all you're going have, keep them stocked! Never, ever run out of mexican beer on tap! Red Sangria - Not drinkable according to my wife. And that's saying something! Margaritas - Average at best Service - Average and the whole layout and ordering system is just a pain in the butt. You order at the counter but if you want additional drinks and the bar in busy, you either get back in line or you leave an open tab when you first order. But, even with an open tab, you still have to get back in line for another drink. They need another cashier at the bar. Food - Average food truck, taco stand quality. This is not a bad thing, but the quality has to be there. So far, the food is just avarage. The Space - cool space but bad layout. The dump station for all your food and drinks is right in the middle of the room right next to the salsa, condiments, water, etc. Just kinda gross. Bottom line, I give it 6 months to a year at best. Better options withing 2 blocks.

I've been to Pecado Bueno three times and I had a great experience each visit. The atmosphere is perfect for West Seattle i.e. everyone friendly. The menu is not too big and they have the old Mexican standards and some other unique offerings. Whatever you choose, the food is the FRESHEST. You will not get a plate with greasy meat and cheese sodden beans at this place. The enchiladas are so good I could have licked the plate clean if etiquette would allow. The rice and beans are exceptional and put Matador's to shame. The only cons are that the ordering system is weird-you order at the bar and then someone comes into the middle of the dining area and yells a name. Also, I wish there would be more side order options. I'll definitely be a regular and I'm happy that they are now part of the neighborhood.

We just had our first meal here and thought it was great Happy Hour menu has lots of choices and everything was VERY fresh and good tasting. nice margarita Service was friendly and efficient. Music was a little loud To top it off, my wallet had fallen out of my purse and I discovered it missing about 30 minutes after we left. When I returned they had my wallet in an envelope, with rubber band and in their safe. NICE!

Our first time here and it is going to be a family favorite! Everything tastes delicious and really fresh. They will give Chipotle a run for their money! The variety of salsas were great and the service was very friendly and helpful - he even gave us free chips salsa and guacamole just so we could try it. And, of course, it was delicious.

No bueno indeed. I went here once. It's OK food, a kind of mexican fast food. The environment and ambiance is very much like a MacDonalds. I really want to give this one star but it may be a factor that it was full of noisy children.

Excellent food at fair prices. I really like the pork tacos, my wife loves the squash tacos. The house margaritas are great & cheap. The service is top notch. In reading through some of the other reviews I'm not sure why people keep comparing it to Matador just across the street. It is in my experience more expensive at Matador. My wife & I seldom make it out of Matador with dinner & drink & tip for under $80, but we can have the same amount of food & drink at Pecado for under $50. Plus at Pecado we can bring our kid. They don't have table service which seems to bum some people out but I haven't found that it causes any issues. The food comes out fast and they bring it to your table.

My first and only time visiting the place. The food: pretty good. Carne asada is often too chewy but this was pretty tender. The margaritas: not bad for the price. Ambiance: any place that allows dogs is cool. Service: friendly. Overall: I'm coming back.

Honestly, I've walked past this place a million times since it opened but never went in. Then last night (on the hottest day of the year so far) my boyfriend and I were looking for a place to get a drink and stopped in to see what was what. The service was okay, the girl who took our order and rang us up was nice, she said that they'd bring us our drinks but they never did. They just called from the bar if anyone had ordered what we'd ordered and my boyfriend went up and grabbed them. I ordered the Coconut Mojito ($8.50 - yikes) and it was... Incredible. From the first sip, I was freaking out. I made my boyfriend try it and the look on his face expressed just what I felt in my heart. Perfectly mixed mojito, amazing flavors. I wish I could afford to drink many more of them. Didn't try any food, can't vouch for that but we loved our drinks. If I find myself with some extra cash on a hot day, I imagine I'll be stopping in here for a couple mojitos.

Loving this place! I am from California, so I think I know my Mexican food pretty well. But what was unexpected was the Torta. Delicious! The staff was friendly and helpful. Maybe a bit high priced, but you get great ambiance in trade. More than fair value.

  • Molly S.

No bueno...any good Mexican/tex-mex place has to nail the basics of chips and salsa. Half the chips were stale and gross. The habanero salsa tasted like spicy marinara...gross! I will say the guacamole is really good. Its also a little confusing on service. I guess you're supposed to seat yourself and order from the counter but its hard to figure that out on your own. Just not worth the money or calories.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
