Our absolute favorite Thai food in Seattle. It is also our Go To dinner place on top of Queen Anne. The vegetables are very fresh and the flavors are perfect. My wife and I love Orrapin.

Food was fantastic..... The very spicy pork was AMAZING!!! We ordered 5 stars, it tasted more like 4 stars but still delicious. The pud thai was better than most places I've tried. Definitely authentic as you can get. Service was slightly lacking a little, she never asked if we would like another beer and never took the empty beer off the table. However, we will absolutely be back, TRY THIS PLACE!!!!!

Let me just premise this by sayin that I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE THAI food... after reading the reviews of this place i thought i would try it... mehhhh, i wouldnt return. The Tom Yum Soup was sweet... which should have told me i wouldnt enjoy the rest of my meal. i also ordered the Prik king with beef... the beef didnt smell fresh and i promptly asked for a box, which ended up in a trash can omw back to the car. just GROSS. I would NOT return and would NOT recommend, go somewhere else.

This thai place was alright. My friend and I were in the Lower Queen Anne area and didn't really feel like eating anywhere pretentious (crazy I know) so we figured thai was a good alternative. However, good thai places were ALL THE WAY in Fremont so we decided to just walk to Orrapin. I can appreciate how the menu didn't aim to be complex and offered a few combinations. I had a combination with pad thai and yellow tofu curry; it was alright - I usually order 5 spicy and it was decently spicy. I think the prices were good for what you got. My friend liked her panang curry, but I thought it was interesting how they had it already poured on rice. Usually places provide each separately. If you ware wanting to get thai around this area, I would just go the extra distance to Fremont.

I'm a regular here, having eaten here at least 20 times in the last year, enough that the waiters and hostess know me and my well-behaved corgi, Merlin. I really like supporting local businesses, and always make it a point to tip well whenever I eat somewhere, and this place has been no exception. Earlier this evening, I stopped by after a 2 mile jog with my dog, and left him tied outside by the patio rail while I went inside to use the restroom. I had already asked for a table. Right before I went inside, there was a couple sitting at the table right next to the rail, and the man gave me an unkind look, which I promptly ignored. I was hoping he'd be one of those nice people who would assuage my dog's fears and let him know that I'd be right back. I came out to find them gone, and the owner of the restaurant, an older thai lady, in an annoyed mood. She told me not to tie my dog to the rail, etc. I asked her why, and she replied that the couple had complained about my dog. Now, my dog is very quiet and seldom barks, and he basically just stood waiting for me to come out... I don't see what the issue was, and having eaten here many times in the past with no objections from the restaurant, I was quite surprised by her attitude. I pointed out that as a customer, I've been here many times, and that I've never had any issues with them... and frankly, I also said I didn't like her tone with me because it was scolding, and as a paying customer... note the emphasis on PAYING customer. The exchange should have been a frank but straightforward one, but she lost her patience, and while she didn't raise her voice, her tone was anything but pleasant or understanding. I said I couldn't leave my dog tied by the tree outside because someone could steal him, and we weren't flouting any laws by having him tied to the patio rail. I then said she was making me feel very unwelcome, and that I came by frequently as a repeat customer.. I told her maybe I should leave, and she said "go ahead, leave" in a rude tone. At this point, her daughter, who is the hostess and knows me (I'd just dined there last week!) stepped in and apologized, looking embarrassed, as she trounced off down the street. Not a smart business move... run off a loyal patron, after a complaint from a couple that never intended to come back anyway. I stayed anyway, and had my dinner, just to be nice on behalf of the daughter, but this is the last time I'll ever eat there...and while I'm sure the rude old thai lady who owns the joint is glad, consider this my warning to all of you folks -- stay away from a place with such rude management... esp since (1) the food is just "meh" (I mostly ate here out of convenience and a sense of wanting to support a local business), and (2) there are a gazillion thai restaurants in Seattle, and one right around the corner from this one.

Let me start off by saying the food tasted great. It was very, very tasty. Let me also state that I didn't dine in. So, no part of my review has anything to do with the service, decor, or whatever. My rating is based solely on the food, and my experience eating it. I had ordered the jungle pork because I wanted spicy. I wanted my face to melt. I wanted my head to heat up, sweat, and feel the burn long after I stopped eating. It said it was spicy on the menu. When I ordered it I chose for it to be the most spicy (ordered on Bite Squad). It was, in my opinion, mildly spicy. I'm not trying to be a hard ass. That guy who says nothing is hot enough. I'm not that guy. I do enjoy spicy, and once in a while I just simply want to cry. Usually when I'm feeling Ill. I want to burn the cold out of me. This was just not spicy! Very tasty. Just not 5 out of 5 spicy. Not even close. The portions were also so small. I get the whole "quality over quantity" thing, and this is definitely a quality dish, but it wasn't good enough to justify the small portion. Not at that price, and with no side of rice included. Not that $10.95 is a lot for an entree, but I can get a much bigger portion for the same size elsewhere. And it'll probably come with rice or a side, too. It might not taste as good, but it will taste good enough, and I'll be able to taste it a few more times. I'm going to have a really hard time eating here again. I just moved to Seattle and I have a long list of places to eat. Restaurants who can't bring the heat when asked, and leave me hungry don't deserve a second chance. Not when there are so many other places to eat.

I have been at this restaurant a lot in the past year. Pretty good Thai food and not great service, but minimally acceptable. Tonight we went in for dinner. We wanted to have a cocktail and appetizer and just talk prior to ordering our dinner. Well multiple take out orders came and went. We barely saw the waitress. Finally it was 15-20 minutes with no drinks except basic Thai ice tea and a spring roll and the waitress makes a quick appearance to give some water to another take out customer and to get her attention we raised our hand and said excuse me. Then we added - can we have our beer? She brought our beer and we commented that it had been about 15 minutes and rather than apologize or explain she said - oh so that's why you were so rude. At that point we asked for our check and she said to us - you are the rudest customers ever. You had to yell at me. We left and will never go back. Too bad - the parents who own the place were not there. Don't go here - there is better in Fremont.

Far too "hit or miss" to continue eating here. Today, I got beef pud thai. Not only was it awful and lacking any flavor, but the beef is as hard as beef jerky and there is only 4 pieces of beef in it. This is also bizarre, but normally you can put your fork in your food and the noodles will separate, but these noodles are so stuck together- similar to when you take your left overs home and reheat them. I am not happy about the quality. Will not return.

  • Garrett T.

Pad see ew is my favorite and I get it everywhere! It was ok, but the noodles were VERY wide and there was not enough sauce. I would give this place another shot. It's in a great area, if you haven't been by the Queen Anne's area. Everything was fresh and flavor was there, just not enough.

I will start this by saying my boyfriend and I have come to the restaurant many times and it has always been our favorite place to get Thai food. However, today we placed an order for pickup. The man taking our order misunderstood an item in the order. This would not be a big deal. Our order was going to be ready in roughly 20 minutes and it took us roughly 20 minutes to get there. They ask what name the order is under 3 different times. We sit down to wait and 20 minutes later they ask our name again. We tell them. They ask if we ordered chicken satay, we did not. So they go to fix the order. It's now been 45 minutes since we placed our order and the restaurant is not busy. After they make the correct dish, it's now been roughly an hour since we ordered, three times the amount of time estimated. By way of compensation for this situation they comp us the chicken satay we DIDN'T ORDER. Super. We take the food and go home. When we open the chicken satay one of the pieces we thought was missing a skewer, no, it was broken. There were just sharp pieces of wood broken in a piece of chicken. But don't worry it was free to compensate our time wasted. Also, boyfirend says were not offered water while we waited for 20 minutes in the restaurant.

  • Dennis S.

Great Thai in Queen Anne. The food is tasty and consistent, either as a take away or eating in. They can get busy, so expect a wait...but it is worth it! My favorite is the Pad Thai and fresh rolls.

This place was a bit odd. I walked in and there was a hostess podium, however, there wasn't a sign indicating that you should seat yourself. So I waited.. and waited... and waited some more. I stood at the front of the restaurant and then two of my friends showed up and we were all waiting. We asked a few times if we could get seated and then they finally did seat us... and then took forever to bring us menus. The restaurant wasn't that busy, but they looked like they were getting to-go orders ready and maybe they were short staffed... but it doesn't take long to seat people. My friend ordered a Coca-Cola and our server must not have been very good with English as he seemed confused by her order. She had to end up asking for it a second time as it was never brought out to her. As for the food, I asked for a spicy level of 4 out of 5 and it wasn't spicy at all. I've experienced way better Thai food before moving to Seattle, which is why I gave it 2 stars. It was good.. but not amazing enough that I'd go back, especially with that service.

I guess the redeeming point was being forthcoming. When we asked about our food after 40 minutes they told us that because if a lot of to go orders they hadn't started it yet. Needless to say we walked away.

Solid Thai food that satisfies but doesn't leave you feeling blah the next day from too much seasoning, grease, or other excesses to generate flavor. Attentive staff, nice decor, and careful meal prep for people with allergies (such as garlic). Peaceful but not eerily so.

Hands down my favorite Thai food in Seattle. I started coming here when I was a nanny on Queen Anne. We used to come in and eat at least once a week. The owner of the restaurant is Orrapin, and she is the sweetest woman you will ever meet. She always greets you with a warm smile and hug. She always asks me about Will, the little one I used to nanny. It is really nice to be recognized and remembered. I've had several birthday parties here, and the staff always does a wonderful job taking care of us. The servers are attentive and kind. The Pad Thai is my favorite dish. The dinner portion is enormous and can be saved for two meals. Three stars is relatively spicy. This place never disappoints. So delicious.

I've only been here during lunch hours, so I'm not sure what the dinner menu looks like. I would say their lunch pretty good, and fairly priced considering the location. I do like the portions they give you in the combos. So far I've tried (not all available in a combo) the phad thai, panang curry, beef broccoli, tom yum soup, pad see ew, and the duck soup. The duck soup is the only item on the menu that I get excited about. If you like duck, this this soup will hit the spot! Before the first bite, I can taste the flavor from its smell alone. Go ahead, take a whiff... You'll see what I mean. I don't know what the quack is in that broth, but it is rich in flavor. Wash it down with some Thai tea, and prepare for a food coma.

  • Tim M.

They have a nice ambience, it's clean and the wait staff is usually very friendly and efficient. Tried the Panang chicken (ordered beef, but didn't realize the mistake until after I had finished it!) I was on the fence between the two anyway, so no harm no foul, no pun intended. Got it with two stars and it was delicious, and right at the limit spice-wise. Loved sitting on the patio, water was refilled regularly. Great experience, food was excellent!

Very good food and a sweet place for neighborhood Thai food. Not sure why people are giving less than 4 stars. Had chicken satay, duck soup noodles and sautéed Chinese broccoli. All amazing and priced decently (for this QA neighborhood at least). Definitely will be my favorite Thai spot, just for the noodle soup alone!

Long, straight black hair cooked into the tofu. Cooked INTO it. And my hair is a different color and texture so it wasn't mine. I went at around 2 pm. I only waited about 5 minutes for my pad see ew to go. I thought it was really fast, maybe too quick. The guy handed me the food and did not say "thanks," "come again," or anything. He just turned around and walked away. Little did I know then that I had something nasty waiting for me in it. I learned my lesson. I won't be back.

Once I got the food, it was good food. Allow me to explain. Ambiance: We walked into a very crowded restaurant on Saturday night. Literally, the front room was jam packed and people seemed to walk in about every five minutes to pick up takeout. Service: This was really the only issue with the meal. As a vegetarian, I always have to do a double check to make sure certain meals are vegetarian. It was a chilly Seattle day and I was looking forward to some warm, comforting soup (I was already wearing two shirts and three jackets...real life). So, I asked our server if the Tom Yum Het was vegetarian (sour and spicy mushroom soup). Apparently, he didn't understand what I was saying because about twenty minutes later they come out with a plate of vegetables...ummmm okay. We did have to re-order the soup and the woman wasn't especially apologetic. Minus a star. Food: The soup did end up very delicious with a plentiful amount of mushrooms and the veggies we did get were also tasty. The sauce was a bit plain on the veggies, but there was a great variety. Menu: The menu did also have lots of vegetarian options and it was an expansive menu. It literally went on for pages and pages (not cheesecake factory impressive, but pretty darn good). Anyway, beside the service slip, it was a pretty good meal. It did also have it's intended effect as I shed three layers in the restaurant. My companions didn't even have layers to shed, LOL, but they just turned tomato red because they ordered it at the spiciest level.

Came here after finding a very long line at Grub across the street. The waiter was awesome and very friendly to our 8 month son. Even gave him a toy car. We had the panang curry and the green curry. Both were quite tasty. They even offered a cabbage soup as a free appetizer.

This place is historically my favourite for Thai; however, my most recent visit would beg to differ. Boy has this place gone downhill. If you can't cook rice properly, then you can't do much else to deliver a good meal no matter how good the main dishes are...

Since I am currently floating to Queen Anne for this month, I decided to explore the local cuisine and try their Pad Thai. I called in my order during lunch, and it was ready within the 10 minutes - just like they said it would be. It came in a white box, with a mini salad, dressing in a container, Pad Thai and white rice. It was delicious. Not heavy, like other places i have been to, a good sized portion, and with all of the food allergies I have, nothing happened to me, so the cross contamination was low. I would go back there again, to try their various menu items, and eventually see how their spicy levels compare.

Average Thai food at best. Wanted to try a new neighborhood restaurant today and stopped by Orrapin. It has very nice outdoor seating for the days when the weather is better than today. Restaurant itself is in a huge room and can feel a bit empty with few customers. However, when it's full it becomes very notice and difficult to have a regular conversation because of all the noise. Server was moderately welcoming. Ordered ginger veggie with no rice. It was ok, but nothing out of the ordinary. Portion was very small and I couldn't count more than 4 pieces of tofu :-( All in all ok, but not a great deal, nor a great meal.

I came here for a late lunch with a friend yesterday. The ambience of the restaurant is really cool with all kinds of traditional Thai decorations. We were promptly seated and given our menus. The only weird thing was that our menus were super narrow! I think this just a feature if the lunch menu but it made me laugh a bit that I had to put effort into holding open the menu to read the back page. But whatever. That didn't bother me too much. They have great prices on lunch combos and dishes. You can do something traditional like a curry of pad see iw, or have a combo plate with rice, a curry or noodle dish, a spring roll, and a salad. This wasn't mentioned on the menu, but we also got a yummy cup of soup with our meal! Yay! Since everything from the service to the location was great, my rating reflects what I thought of the food. I thought it was really good. It was what I was expecting in Thai food. Not excellent, but very good. For a yummy eatery that is clean and has polite service, I will definitely return when I am craving Thai in Queen Anne!

I live in the neighborhood and have been coming here for awhile but don't think I'm coming back until they stop skimping on their portions. The owners are friendly folks, but every time I order a Chicken curry dish or garlic chicken, it comes with such a tiny portion of chicken for $12 it does feel like a rip-off. I go to many Thai places in Seattle and at Orrapin you get about 1/3 of the portion as compared to any other Thai place around.

I love this place not only because the food's pretty good but because they make the dishes sans sugar...HUGE!! Thai is generally laced with the abysmally overused ingredient. Great service, outdoor seating, decent price especially for upper Queen Anne.

Friendly staff. Unfortunately my dish (eggplant lovers delight) was bland and unseasoned. I asked for fish sauce but was told they only have soy sauce.

I moved to the Upper Queen Anne area about 7 months ago and since thai food is my absolute favorite I immediately started trying them in the area. Queen Anne Thai was my first attempt and it was terrible! Next I moved on to Orrapin Thai and was so relieved! It was wonderful food! The Chicken Pad Thai is delicious and exactly what I was hoping to find in my new neighborhood. It is now my go-to Thai restaurant and I could not be happier.

We live close by and have eaten here many times. We really like the quality of the food and haven't really experienced any of the slow what staff issues others have noted. HOWEVER, we are consistently disappointed in the portion size when we've done take out. Very small. I've actually walked back once after coming home to see how little they actually put into the take out containers. They gave me some additional and apologized. But they haven't seemed to change - we ordered two dishes tonight and had the same experience. Barely enough to share between two people.

I used to be a regular at this place, mostly to go orders. One day they messed up my order. I had specifically said no peppers. I even asked the person who handed me the food if it had any peppers. She replied: "no." I come home and there were green peppers. I call the restaurant and they asked me to take my food. Im like really? Doing that is challenging the customer. If a customer says the food has peppers, then there are peppers in there whether you believe it or not. Plus, if a customer is gonna drive back to the restaurant because his food has peppers, the customer would want a new dish prepared. So asking the customer to bring his food is pointless and just challenges the customer. Do you really need evidence? Anyway, the person at the restaurant sees the peppers and makes anew dish. Actually no, they just picked out the peppers from the other one. I get home, my food was cold and there were two damn peppers in it. This people just don't get it. In summary, I'm never returning again to this place. All this was a waste of time. They never apologized and hated that they challenged me the way they did. If they truly offered good customer service then they would not have asked me to drive to the restaurant with my food. From personal experience working in the industry, whether there were actually any peppers or not, you will serve another dish because for the customer there are peppers in food, no questions asked. You don't need evidence to prove the customer wrong.

Love, love, love this place for Thai food! I have been going here for 10 years or so. I mostly come here for lunch on the weekdays, and always get the combination B, ($10) which has spinach with the delicious thai peanut sauce, a hot and crispy spring roll, white rice and scrumptious tofu pad thai that i can get as spicy as i desire! It's more than i can eat for lunch, so I usually have leftovers to take for dinner or lunch the next day. Thai Iced Tea is a tasty addition to your meal as well. The owner, Orrapin herself, is really nice, and I often see her working there when I'm in. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really great, it's classy, clean and Thai inspired. The next time you are on Queen Anne Hill and craving Thai food, be sure to check it out!

Boyfriend and I were there last night and loved it. He had a red curry and couldn't stop eating it. We almost always go home with left overs but not from his dish last night. My Tom Kha Gai soup was wonderful. It's very large. The service was well intentioned but not well organized; I.e., didn't get our drink order before our food order; asked the table next to us three times by three different people if they wanted anything to drink before they took their food order. They just don't have the flow of service, and who's doing what, dialed in perfectly, but we'll be back for sure.

Went here with a group. Food is underwhelming, service is below average (asked for chopsticks, never got them) and there are better menu items at most other Thai places. Go elsewhere.

Tasty thai food lunch combinations here, all about $10 a person and far too much food in a relaxed, gold and amber colored setting at the top of Queen Anne hill. We enjoy the atmosphere here, as someone involved in this business clearly has an eye for design. There is a beautiful wooden Thai spirit house in one window, and as you enter a bell jingles lightly and to your left, a Thai figure with palm extended greets you. The food is solid and with two trips to Thailand under our belts, we qualify as Thai food junkies (who will chose a travel destination based on food!) Although Orrapin is not the best Thai we've had, its one of the better places we've found in Seattle. Orrapin is consistently tasty, family friendly and a great value, particularly for lunch. Our $10 lunch comes with vegetable soup (a little bland, wish it were tom kha gai) two chicken satay sticks with peanut sauce over fresh cucumber, veggie pad thai with nice subtle heat, red veggie curry and rice. The lunch is fresh, tasty and very generous. I would file this one under solid "get away" lunch options close (assuming you have a car) relatively close to downtown and South Lake Union. (Their lunch deal is also offered on the weekends.)

Great for take out, better for dine-in. Try to make it for lunch for the free veggie soup. Be careful ordering on the 1 - 5 spicy scale, especially if you're planning on left-overs. I love spicy food and am perfectly content with a 2 at Orrapin. As we know, that 2 will turn into a 3 the next day. I literally go to this place weekly. Fairly priced, comfortable and clean environment. Green curry and Pad Thai are the best I've had in Seattle. Nice service. Ahh so hungry all of the sudden.

The last few times I have gotten take out here, I felt like it was less good than I remembered. It could just be that it is much better eating it fresh at the restaurant versus taking it home. Overall, I still think this is a great Thai place in the area to visit because the food is good and the setting is nice especially the patio during the summer.

Orrapin serves the best Pad Thai in town and savory authentic noodle soups for lunch. You won't go hungry here as the portions are generous. Food is fresh and very tasty. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the owner is often there busily greeting guests or even cooking in the back kitchen. I always bring out of town guests here and they always request it when they come back!

Not impressed at all! Based on Urbanspoon and Yelp reviews and high ratings, we decided to try this place out. Sat for a while before anyone came over to even take our drink order. Finally, a gal came to take our order. She needed to keep looking at the menu to double check what we were ordering-seems she didn't know what they serve. The wines they serve are HORRID and I'm. It really that much of a wine snob. Both the Malbec and Cab were terrible. The food was so-so. Nothing special. Not spicy even though we asked for 3 star. I would try somewhere else on Queen Anne!!! Or go somewhere else if you are craving Thai.

Orrapin is a nice place to dine in Queen Anne. The folks here are attentive and the place has a warm ambiance. The food though isn't great, nor is it bad so consider it a fairly decent choice to satisfy a sudden craving for Thai. We ordered spring rolls ( yelp.com/biz_photos/XxQl… ) to start and they arrived in a hurry. Be careful on your first bite because they are piping hot! Nothing special to report besides that. We ordered chicken panang curry ( yelp.com/biz_photos/XxQl… ) and Gang Pia (red snapper in a red curry broth) ( yelp.com/biz_photos/XxQl… ) and while we said medium in terms of spice, they both came packing with quite a bit of heat. I would not want to know what "spicy" is. Which is unfortunate because after a while the curries just started tasting a little one-note. We also had Thai ice tea and Thai ice coffee which thankfully countered the heat. I would go as far as to say that the drinks were the highlight of the meal. Nice and thick but not too sweet, they were yummy drinks. If you're in the area, then Orrapin will do just fine. It wasn't our first choice for the night but it more than sufficed.

When we left the house to get to Orrapin, I realized that I hadn't been to Queen Anne since I moved back to Seattle (several years ago now). It's changed! It was easy to walk around, and looked like some interesting places to eat/shop. Orrapin has some yummy food. I ordered the ginger chicken, and I do not recommend this for people who are not gung ho about ginger. It's not just a bit of ginger, or a ginger broth - there are lots of shreds of ginger mixed in (at least 2 stars had this). Great balance of veggies & chicken, and they have great brown rice to eat it over. Yum! I sampled the dishes my friends ordered (pepper chicken, cashew chicken & a noodle dish), and this seemed the "healthiest by far" (least oily). I've been sensitive to the oiliness lately, I don't think their food is crazy oily, but it was noticeable in the other dishes and not in my ginger chicken at all. The thai iced teas were nicely sized, a good deal for the price (esp. compared to other restaurants). Total for four entrees, two appetizers, 2 thai iced teas, one diet soda & a glass of wine was about $72 (pre-tip). Great service, they were by frequently to check on us, but not intrusive at all. Thanks Orrapin, I'll be back! Accessibility notes: small ramp to get in - indoor tables quite wheelchair friendly, outdoor tables looked fine, some may be hard to get to. I didn't see inside the bathroom, will update when I do.

The service is what kills this place. Twice now, we have been so disappointed with the MIA waitstaff. The second time, we were there about 1:45 mins, and only ordered an entree each! They messed up the table across from us too and sent them home with food to go. It was a sufferable experience. We almost left to go next door before our food FINALLY came out. If you go, you will see what I mean. Too bad, because the food is pretty good, but we just cannot go back and endure the understaffed restaurant. We were hoping the first time was a fluke but it was not.

Generally a dependable dinner spot on Queen Anne. The curries are quite good...and the noodle dishes are balanced and flavorful. Service has always been good, even if there is a bit of frustration with entrees being delivered in a staggered order that leaves some waiting. Back again...still **** out of five. Food was strong...service not so much. Prices are great.

I thought this was just ok. We ordered green curry with pork, bamboo shoot chicken, and pud-see-iew. I was pretty underwhelmed by the curry... it was pretty salty but otherwise unremarkable. I did like the other 2 dishes, I suppose. FYI, they were very spicy at 2 out of 5 stars, and we're not spice wimps! What does 5 stars get you?! We spent about $35 for the 3 entrees and 2 orders of brown rice. I've spent about $10 less for the same amount of food elsewhere in Seattle. (Like Jamjuree, in Cap Hill. I'd rather go there given the choice.) I will say that the service was good. Even though we ordered take out, the waitress/hostess offered us water while we waited. I'd probably go back, just because it's convenient neighborhood take out.

Went for lunch recently one weekend for the first time. Bottom line: it works but overall I've had better. The staff was friendly and it was a low-key atmosphere but the food left me wanting more. The prices were very reasonable.

I really can't add much more to what people have already said about this place. I've been frequenting this establishment for years and it has been consistent throughout. The service is awesome and the restaurant very warm and inviting. I also order out a lot from here. Just an all-around great place! They make some killer bee ginger fried rice!

Orrapin is a decent spot to grab Thai cuisine on Queen Anne Hill. I personally prefer it as take-out as opposed to dine in. The restaurant does have a nice, low-key, and semi-stylish vibe, but I just don't find the chairs or the seating layout to be very comfortable. The food is always good here, however, there does seem to be some inconsistency on the spicy level with each visit. Some days 3 star heat tastes like 2 stars and some days it tastes like 5+. I do enjoy spicy food, but I prefer to know what I am getting into when I order on a restaurant's heat scale. The service is always friendly and thoughtful (i.e. they automatically bring you water even when you are waiting for a take out order). The 3-star rating for Orrapin stems from nothing really blowing me away about this spot. It is a good Thai restaurant, just not the top of my list.

Not what I would consider authentic Thai. Perhaps their specialty is more of the curries and soups, but I didn't see some of the authentic stuff like papaya salad etc on the menu. Their Pad Kee Mao was unlike every authentic place I've been to. it was more like Chinese food / stir fry with a soy sauce base with cabbage, carrot and broccoli, and it had no tomato, chilis. The pad Thai was not very flavorful.

I like spicy, but I also like to taste the ingredients in a dish beyond chile, so i ordered medium...my lips are still burning and my taste buds are numb. Nothing be fire could be tasted. Prices are fair and i may return, but order much less heat...maybe even 1 star.

AAAHH MELTING THOUGHTS! I would never think to come to upper queen anne in search for good thai food, especially a restaurant thats on a side street from the main. we pulled up to the restaurant and thought it was in a cute spot, there are seatings outside but way too cold and all tables were available, we went inside and it was cute. clean! But I will have to knock one star off because the table they sat us in was too small and hardly held our dishes up. i breezed thru the menu thinking of what to eat but always play it safe and go with chicken. we ordered two chicken dishes: Gal Prud Prik and Ginger Chicken. Bother were really delicious. I suggest if you are ordering anything curry or a dish with alot of flavor such as ginger chicken to eat it with plain white rice rather then fried rice. Gal Prud Prik $10 - was okay. I have a few bites but didnt acquire any interest for me to continue eating. I actually like spicy but not too much spice and curry sometimes makes me rush to the restroom unexpectedly so i have kept my cool pace. Ginger Chicken $10 - OMG GOOD!!! The dish wasn't oily and the flavors were just rightly cooked. no over powering flavors ontop of each other. just right with the asking of 1 star hotness. food - good ambiance - cute, comfortable, clean price - a pinch above average but worth the pay-out revisiting - OH YES Although I've ate here once, it's left with a lasting impression and I like it more then Jai Tai. Oh and the one flop which has also played a factor in my rating... NO DESSERT MENU?? boo that sucks.

Ate here last night--had a wonderful experience. The food was spot on. I'm not a huge Thai food person but I can say that the portions were excellent, service was great and the restaurant itself was comfortable, great lighting, nice music and did NOT smell funny which is why we decided NOT to patronize the other Thai food place down the street in the old house...this place is totally worth it. They don't for some reason, offer refills on sodas though which was kind of a bummer but I don't fault them for it.

Ive been on Queen Anne for 4 years now and as a huge Thai food fan this is the only place I will order from out of the several options. They have consistently great food and knowing I can count on a quality Pad See Ew or a Panag curry is a great comfort. I often take guests from out of town to Orrapin for dinner and everyone is always happy and full after dinner. Not the cheapest dining but so very worth it.

BEST THAI FOOD IN SEATTLE! The curries, phad thai, spring rolls are all to die for. When ordering a curry though - order a 1-2 star if you would normally order a 3. I like things pretty spicy but even the 1 star curry there is hot! Excellent service. We've been there probably 15+ times and there has never been a wait - there is a lower level with extra tables that isn't visible from the street. This is making me hungry just thinking about it!!!

I was feeling Thai for dinner and had seen this place before, so decided to try it out. It was okay, but probably not somewhere I will go again. The Thai tea had so much ice in it that it quickly became watered down and bland. I got the panang curry with chicken at a 1 star spice level. Now, I am a wimp when it comes to spice, but this was seriously so spicy! I'd hate to find out what a 5 star would taste like. It was also kinda weird because the chicken tasted overdone (kinda chewy), but the bell peppers didn't seem like they were cooked through at all. I did like the zucchini in it- not something I've had in curry before. The service was friendly, but it was a bit overdone for my taste. Someone stopped to check on me every single time anyone walked by. The price was very reasonable and the patio area was nice, but not the best Thai I've had.

The Pad-See-Eew during lunch time was bland and burnt. Disappointed. It's not even spicy and i ordered a 4 star.

My bf and I came here for a double date and sadly, our hopes were discouraged. Although we liked our food the last couple of times we came here, this time around each of our four dishes were kinda bland and lacking in flavor. My bf's tom yum was super tangy, but not spicy at all for a five star. Maybe they thought he was too white to be ordering a five star and thought they were doing him a favor? Anyway, my cashew fried rice was so bland. Like white rice with a little bit of soy sauce. No flavor. I'm so sad we didn't like our food.

A favorite years ago, I found myself back in the neighborhood with family and tried it again. The food was mediocre at best, the service was pleasant, but forgetful and the food had switched from family style to individual and the entrees were now accompanied by dry rice and sad looking salad.

  • Jennily D.

Service here is EXCELLENT. I feel like 4 different people came to my table to either ask how things are or ask if I needed anything. I love the feeling when I have a request, and they read your mind like a super hero to come to your table. Veggie Tom Yum Soup was absolutely delicious with all the right flavors coming out. The portion is HUGE, so definitely plan on it being a main course if you're not sharing with 3-4 people. One less star for their Veggie Pad Thai, which is so sad for me. It was a little bit on the sweet side, but overall the flavors didn't burst out like the Tom Yum Soup did. Take out was super fast and they were nice as usual, but I couldn't help but feeling a little disappointed with the pad thai. Will definitely come again just to try other things.

  • Jessica N.

Eh, there are kind of a lot of Thai places in Seattle and I really have a hard time believing that this is the best. The Tom Yum was fine, but what was rather off-putting was the greyish color of the yellow curry. The curry seriously lacked that rich spiced flavor that I've come to expect from Thai food. The food was also a little expensive, so I think next time I'll go somewhere else.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant. I've been going to it for years. I have never been disappointed with the food. I usually get the Pad Thai but everything else I've had was great too. The wait staff is very friendly and competent. My wife and I ended up having our wedding rehearsal dinner here, and they catered wonderfully. What I really love about the place is the atmosphere. There's a lot of natural wood, and unobtrusive lighting. You could take a date, or you could go to just hang out. I've written a few reviews for Yelp and realized I hadn't given a 5-star review yet. When I asked myself what restaurant I might give 5 stars to, this was the first one that popped into my head. That should tell you something.

Amazing!!! Will definitely be back; free tasty soup before being quickly served a flavorful meal. Delicious fresh salad accompanying was a bright green lettuce with grated carrots, bean sprouts, and topped with a spicy peanut sauce. My Ginger Vegetables (I added tofu) was perfectly spiced with fresh broccoli, carrots, green beans, snow peas, etc and even freshly sliced ginger! Great service by friendly staff! Several options for seating, had more intimate selections and could also easily accommodate a larger group. I loved this restaurant and would happily return.

We've been going here a while -- curry isn't very good, but it's not awful and there's not really a lot of options on Queen Anne. The pad thai is mediocre. lunch specials are good-value. The interiors are gorgeous. Last time we went, they messed up my order big time. When I pointed it out to them they apologized. Ok, fine. And at the end they said they'd comp the rice, which was not needed, and therefore untouched, since they'd given me a noodle dish instead of a curry. I really thought they should have comped my meal since it was terrible and I clearly tried it and then only ate the (few bits of) meat out of it. When we asked them to wrap the rice up, they threw out most of it and gave us the tiniest box of rice to take home. What the hell? I'll leave the neighborhood next time I need some thai.

Two words: Fresh rolls. Order them. Order a couple of orders, because I guarantee you'll be fighting over them. When I'm in an airport, forced to eat plastic food from plastic wrap - or maybe in St. Louis on business, where the day old pastries at Starbucks start to look like gourmet cuisine - I dream about those soft, magnificently created wonders from Orrapin, and wonder if they couldn't deliver them to my house every morning of my life. Yes. They're that good. If you must, the rest of the menu is pretty darn delicious, including some of the finest Pad Thai around - and curiously tasty brown rice. But for me - double order of fresh rolls please. And keep them coming.

  • Marcy N.

Okay so I've eaten here twice. The first time we ate in and the food was wonderful. I had the pad thai and I don't recall what my dinner mates had but one thing that stood out for me was the thai iced tea. The last time I was in here I was visiting friends on the top of Queen Anne and hankering for a quick place for carryout and this place was suggested. Remembering how awesome it was last time I jumped on it! We ordered phad thai and cashew fried rice to go. We called in our order and then walked the 6 blocks to pick it up. It was hot and ready to go by the time we got there. The phad thai was exactly how I remembered it but they chef forgot to put the cachews in the cashew fried rice. If we weren't down the street drinking I would returned to the restaurant for a do-over on the cashew fried rice. I would give this place 4 stars but forgetting the main ingredient in a dish was pretty disappointing. I really like the ambience in the restaurant. It's dark and candlelit and kinda romantic.

Not terrible. But that's not my standard when I go eat. I've been going to jai thai for years and then hit this place last week. Realized not all thai food is the same. Service was good. Food was ok. If that's good for you then go for it.

We live close to Orrapin and have been loyal customers for over 8 years and order take out an average of 2 - 3 times per month. Last night with family visiting we decided to head to the restaurant to have a nice dine-in experience. Unfortunately, the service was absolutely terrible and we had a surprisingly less than enjoyable time. Issue #1: Though we were seated promptly and served water immediately, we never received menus. We waited almost 10 minutes before having to get up to ask for them! It was not busy so we couldn't understand why this had happened. They didn't seem apologetic and eventually brought us three menus (for the four of us). The binding of one of the menus had completely fallen apart which made it difficult to handle, and all of the menus had been hand edited to reflect revised prices and some items had been stricken out. The evening was not off to a good start. Issue #2: When the server came to take our order we received no friendly greeting or eye contact. He simply stared down at his note pad with a quick: "what do you want?". When placing our orders he never looked up or asked us how many stars, so we all had to go back through orders to list them after I reminded him that we do have a preference. What the ____? Had we not reminded him of this, we wondered: "Were going to get 1 star or 5 stars?" Drinks were never offered so we all stuck with water. The evening was quickly going downhill and our visiting family was less than impressed. Issue #3: Although two of the dishes arrived promptly, the other two dishes took almost 5 minutes to arrive which left the first two dishes getting cold while we waited. In addition, since the server never offered rice for those dishes that should have clearly accompanied them, we had to order rice after the fact. Waiting once again while our plates chilled. Needless to say, we offered no tip and we are typically very generous tippers, however we just couldn't believe what a disaster the service had been. The dismal service simply overshadowed what could have been a good meal. We will not be back to Orrapin to dine-in again. We are also seriously considering no longer ordering takeout as well. Next time we're in the mood for Thai we'll just head to Fremont where there are easily 2-3 other Thai restaurants with better service and equally good food to choose from.

This is my favorite Thai food place in Seattle. I've been going here for a few years now, and it's still pretty consistent...although the portions are shrinking a bit (recession, please end!) I went here tonight with the boyfriend and 2 of my favorite people (Don T. and Maureen K.) The boyfriend and I are were a bit nervous introducing this place to them, as we've heard how picky they (and Mama and Papa T) are about their Thai food. We didn't want them to scoff at our Thai food choice and basically call us the Thai version of Gringos. I usually order either the pud thai, pud see-iew, or the moo gratiem. Tonight I ordered the moo gratiem (garlic pepper pork). The boyfriend strayed from his usual yellow curry order and got red curry instead. Don T. got panang curry and Maureen K. got Kee Mao Noodles. Upon their first taste of the food, we got the thumbs up. YAY! We have been Thai approved! I've been here for lunch in the past, and they have pretty good lunch meals that include noodles, rice, salad, and soup for a really decent price. The boyfriend has stated that of the Thai places we've been to in Seattle, this has the best curry flavors (he usually only gets curries) so that's why he likes it. I haven't had a meal that I didn't enjoy here, so I appreciate that. My roommate usually gets the Siam/Slam Noodles and enjoys it whenever he comes here for dinner with us too. It's also got a nice atmosphere. The waitstaff is constantly filling our water glasses. I think my glass was always at least 3/4 full. They have a pretty good space, and I've had large group dinners here before and they've handled it smoothly. The boyfriend and I really like this place, but I've been holding out on yelping about it until I got the seal approval from DoMo...and with that I can now say, "DoMo Thai approved!"

I'm kinda crazy about pricing on Thai or Chinese restaurants. The bills always remind me of the Doug Adams books where they powered the space ship through the inaccuracies in a waiter's bill or something like that. Really though it's the language barrier. Which makes me sad. I don't have this issue at Jai Thai in Fremont. But Orrapin is in my hood. We're talkin walkin distance. I since me abdominal track has vetoed any gluten I''m on an Asian kick. Just call me stir fry Bob. All the goodness without all the bloat. Anyway I digress. So my server didn't understand English or their menu. I had to correct her twice and then negotiate the error in the bill. Now of course they are nice people hear but who needs the headache. And the space is nice too but who wants to pay for it. I don't run Thai restaurants so I don't know how they'd fix this. I wish they would though because it's the closest place in my hood.

This place does pretty good renditions of the Thai standards, but has yet to really excite me. Some thoughts on individual dishes: - Larb Gai- pretty good flavor, the right texture. I like it, but it just isn't quite strong enough to be something I eat there a lot. - Green Curry- as is common, too much zucchini and a bit bland, but better than a lot in the area. - Tom Kha Gai- fairly nice flavor and composition. Much simpler and cleaner than most, with about the right amount of mushrooms and good slices of chicken. The service is always prompt and efficient.

Great food, period. Always hot and delicious. The service is great and has a decent atmosphere. Not exactly trendy or unique, but I've only had great experiences here. So with that, Orrapin, I give you as many stars as I like my spice level.

I like! and I am giving it 4 because of when I said a 3 I got a 3- get it?! Orrapin offers takeout that I can eat even when I am eating lean. Orrapin offers lots and lots of dishes that only consist of veggies or veggies with tofu. When I first tried Orrapin I ordered Ginger Tofu- which is sauteed fresh tofu with ginger, baby corn, mushrooms, bell peppers, pineapple and onions- it was very good. The portions are controlled but not small and prices are what classy neighborhood Thai restaurants normally charge (at least in Ballard, Fremont, and QA).

I use to have a friend who live up on Queen Anne and anytime we met for dinner this was the place we'd go. She loved it and I never complained. The food is wonderful, I love their Tom Kah and curries, those dishes are always a hit, the noodle dishes tend to be a bit on the oily and heavy side so I suggest staying away from them. But I will add the flavors are awesome; sweet, sour, spicy, and savory the way great Thai food should be. And the ambiance adds to your meal they try to provide a somewhat exotic feel, with their high ceilings, and wood accent and warm colors, on a plus they have plenty of space between tables, unlike some places where you feel you're sitting on top of your neighbor. My friend has since moved out of state but that has not stopped me from returning to Orrapin for some tasty Thai food when ever I'm over in Queen Anne.

I can say for sure that Thai food is my favorite. Ever. Hands down. So I've been to many, many Thai places, and I must say, a lot of them were pretty good. Except that one place that smelled like something had died in there... Never got to try the food. But, I digress! I had been hearing about how good Orrapin was for the longest time. So when my company (which is in the lower Queen Anne area) decided to have a big take-out feast, I suggested Orrapin. They agreed and we went to get our goodies! I think we might have ordered a dozen dishes or so. And some appetizers. It was a lot of food. But the good thing about was that I got to try so many different things! The lady at the cash register was a bit rude. Especially since we just spent about $200... But I had bags filled with yummy food and I didn't care. Every single thing that I tried was absolutely amazing. The green curry was out of this world. My mouth is watering as I'm typing this. Two thumbs up!

You can pour a creamy coconut sauce over anything and call it 'Thai'. From reading the yelp reviews we decided to give our neighborhood Thai a try, but I was disappointed. I had prawns and vegetables served in a bowl of coconut curry sauce. That's all it was. Nothing special, veges weren't cooked, literally had just had sauce poured over them. Service was good, food was 'meh'. I won't go back, put it that way.

When we lived in Queen Anne we went to Orrapin about once a week for virtually 8 months. During this time we tried several different curries and pad thai (unimpressive) until we finally hit on our winning combination: the yum neau and the green curry. The great staff at Orrapin would recognize us and ask if we wanted the usual, which of course we did. Orrapin is very reasonable in terms of price for the amount and quality of food you get. Over the course of 8 months the yum neau and the green curry varied in quality and flavor (I'd say swinging between 3 and a half stars and 5 stars), but on the best days the beef in the yum neau was perfectly cooked and tender, with crisp greens and intense flavor. The green curry with chicken was an ideal consistency, neither too soupy nor too thick, with tender chicken pieces, a lot of zucchini, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, peppers, and the dish treaded the delicious balance between spice and flavor.

I've been eating at Orrapin for years, but lately it seems the quality is going down hill. They still do an okay job at lunch, but their dinner has been mediocre at best my last few visits. Appetizers that appear to have been precooked and then reheated resulting in dry satay, and greasy spring rolls. The entrees aren't fairing much better. They're definitely cutting costs by using less meat and seafood in the dishes, not to mention things seem to be generally lacking in flavor recently. I hope they're just going through a bad spell, but it's going to be awhile before I try them again. Too many other Thai options just a short drive away.

One of my favorite Thai restaurants in Seattle, and I have to say, sorely under-rated!! I have yet to get a bum entree here. My favorite is the Jungle Curry with pork; Panang and Green curries are close runners-up. Phad Thai is also very good. (Why in tarnation would you go to Racha when Orrapin is just up the street?) Re: spicy, the kitchen has always done a fantastic job of accommodating a range of tastes, and all come out tasty! Side note: Some time ago one of the managers confirmed their 5-star scale for spice/heat is geared toward average palettes. I made it known that like it spicier, and it was suggested that I order between 6-10 stars. I now order 7-8 stars and no one blinks (but I do sweat....). Service is excellent - staff are professional, attentive, polite and knowledgeable. Combined with great food and reasonable prices, I highly recommend it!

My mom and I go here a lot when she comes to town. The decor is really nice and the food is always good. I have dined for lunch and dinner. Tofu veggie soup was loaded with goodness, vegetarian and meat and noodle dishes always please. I've also been with the whole fam, with grams, and on date night. Thumbs up each time. Though I have not been to Thailand, friends who have say they appreciate its authenticity.

Orrapin is one of my favorite thai places in the city. I'm a huge fan of Phad See Ew and theirs has great flavor. I've always enjoyed the service and it only takes them about 20 min. to have my food ready when I call in. Better than the other thai places in the area in my experience.

The place almost looked like they were closed when we got there... then we realized it was only 5pm, which explained the emptiness. The decor is what you'd expect; not drab, but not overly-done either. This would be a great place for a date when you're not doing the "safe" dinner thing. I'm admittedly not the most-adventurous eater at a new spot, so I stayed with the pad thai with chicken. Jon got a beef dish, but I'm not sure what it was. Both dishes were absolutely awesome. I'm definitely going to be going back here again.

Orrapin delivers. Every time. I would choose Orrapin over Racha or Thai Kitchen any day! The others do not compare! The food is fantastic, the service is great, atmosphere is nice, parking is easy, etc, etc. The owner, Orrapin, is great! She once made me a special dish that was not on the menu just so I could try something new. How very nice. Definitely give Orrapin a go, you won't regret it!

This was my favorite Thai place when I lived in Seattle, and even though I no longer live there, I find that I judge other Thai food places against it and they more often than not come up wanting. The pad thai here is just saucy enough and not dry, which is the way I like it whether or not that is the authentic street food way or not. It's just delicious. I am also a big fan of the yellow, red, and green curries that I have here. In terms of atmosphere, I think it's lovely. The decor uses rich reds and golds and the light is low, but not so dark that you wonder what you're eating or where your friends are when you come back from the bathroom.

I am always impressed with the taste and quality of the food here. The first time I went it was over five years ago, and I am still going back. I love that they bring out hot soup at lunchtime. They have tons of great options for vegans, too. Perhaps they could invest in some more comfortable outside seating? I think this place will be here for a long time to come- I hope!

My favorite Thai place by far. I used to find any excuse to come here but now it is no longer near where I live or on the way or back from work :(. My favorite dish is the mama noodles but sometimes i go with the pud Thai or swimming angel tofu. Order the fried spring roll and a Thai iced coffee or tea.

The service was quick but the food was just okay. It wasn't anything to write home about. Personally I'd rather eat at Thai Kitchen around the corner. The food was spicy, which is something other Seattle Thai places don't do well but over all the food wasn't as good as other places in town.

I had no idea! Orrapin has some of the best spiced beef I've had in my lifetime. Seriously - I don't think it was just the 6-mile trek prior that made it taste so good. We shared the Crying Tiger Beef, Fresh Shrimp Spring Rolls and the Yum Gai Salad. The beef was spiced with peppers and the juices were good enough to drink out of a cup. (we didn't but we thought about it). The spring rolls were, for one thing - huge and plentiful, and truly good. The peanut sauce was different than many I've had too - a softer, subtle flavor that complements the roll. Honestly - we put the lemongrass chicken salad in a to-go box without even touching it. The appetizers were more than enough to fill us up and leave us satiated with Thai flavors. And the servers were absolutely fantastic. Nice, attentive and helpful. This is a treasure of fresh and delicious cooking in Q.A. Impossible not to imagine sipping cocktails and sharing small plates on the lovely patio in a couple months too!

i have absolutely NO authentic thai food experience so i cannot confirm or deny its authenticity (i'm guessing it is americanized thai like i'm sure everything else we get around here) but I have no complaints about that. When I want thai I want my warped americanized version of thai food!! as far as i'm concerned best thai food in the city. This is our regular place and we probably go at least once a month. Although i admit my experience is limited to Phad Thai and spring rolls...Hey i know what i like....

The Best Thai Food in Seattle I originally ate at this place when I arrived in Seattle 2 years ago. Since then, Orrapin has become a dining staple to both my fiance and myself. Their consistently great food and service have kept us coming on a weekly basis. They remember our names and the food is served quickly without lacking in quality. Upgrading to 5 stars.

Just ate there with as a party of 3. My wife and I had our food delivered, my cousin who is from out of town sat there for 15 minutes until her Panang Curry was finally brought to her. My wife and I had to stare at our food getting cold while we waited. Food was good, not the best in Seattle. But the service was completely brain dead. What's the point of going out to eat if we can't eat together. No comps/apologies, just blank stares, Seriously???

This is our favorite Thai on QAnne. The outdoor seating, the huge space, the nice diverse menu are all pluses. They have a wonderful Phad Thai and we really like their Thai Iced Teas and Coffees. The red and green curries are yum.

This thai place is fully deserving of five stars. I lived on QA for a couple of years and this was my regular dinner spot. Always friendly service and great food. I have tried a lot of Thai places in Seattle and this tops them all for the price range. Definitely the best phad thai around and the panang curry is to die for.

So it's fast and friendly but I always order the Pad Se Woo (sp?) whenever I go to a new place. This place the noodles are greasy and there is really no vegis in the dish.

I am no Thai connoisseur, but the stuff I put in my mouth was yummy. The staff was very friendly as well. I do like it better than Tup Tim Thai down the hill, that others seem to like as well.

My friend and I were led here by the four-star reviews in yelp. Since there are lots of Thai restaurants in Seattle, I figured this place must really be good to warrant such a high rating. Unfortunately, we were both disappointed. I ordered the green curry, which was essentially flavorless. My friend had a noodle dish, and felt sick to her stomach afterward due to the grease. I don't consider myself too picky when it comes to restaurants, but was disappointed that I couldn't honestly call this food "good". I will say that the service was very good, and all of the staff were quite friendly. However, I can't say that I'd go out of my way to visit Orrapin again.

I used to LOVE Orrapin and have take out from there 2-3 times a month. We went there recently about a month ago and have the worst meal there. The service was great, but the food was not up to it's usual standard. I am even wondering if the place has changed cooks or owners. The chicken was dry, there wasn't enough sauce in one of our dishes, and the rice wasn't cooked through. The waitress was apologetic but it has been the 2nd meal in a row that has been bad and I don't think we will be going back....too bad.

Great atmosphere both inside and out. Very clean with A+ service. The place has everything going for it with the potential of being a go to...except for one critical flaw, the food. I was jazzed until I tasted my green curry...it reminded me of my many American attempts at Thai curry, not special with no distinct flavor...The reason I go out for Thai is because I lack the Thai flare...but so does Orapin. With Thai restaurants on every block, I'm hopeful I'll find another Chang Mai. Cheers!

My wife and I found ourselves staying at a hotel in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle and logged on Yelp to find a good place to eat. Orrapin came highly recommended and it was well worth the walk up the hill. We shared the chef salad (with peanut sauce), the duck curry and the spicy vegetable mix. All of it was delicious and very well priced as compared to our home in San Francisco. We highly recommend it!

very weak thai food. most of the food is way too salty and tastes like it's msg-laden. in contrast, the peanut sauce was way overly sweet. i'm assuming that heavy loads of salt and sugar are their way of americanizing the food, but it made me nauseous. on a positive note, the room inside is nice.

It's been a while since I was last here, but I certainly remember the charm of this noodle shop. Attentive staff, nice menu and tasty noodles. A bit pricey for a bowl of noodles, but still worth the visit. The seating is a bit on the tight side, so I'd likely opt to dine here during a slower week night.

If I want a cheap eat, I go to Thai Tom. If I want to please a trendy Fremont friend, I go to Jai Thai. However, if I want to enjoy myself with some fantastic Thai cuisine with elloquent service, I head to Orrapin on Queen Anne. Orrapin has quickly become one of my favorite joints in Seattle. The service is quick, yet respectable and polished. Atmosphere is very simple, cozy, and quiet. The spring rolls are to die for, and their curry is the best in town. ...try something other than Phad Thai!!!

I think everyone's covered it - great atmosphere, very good but not great food.

I've only been to Orrapin once but I was quite pleased with their food. I ordered the salmon curry and it was really well prepared. It's not a common dish to find and few do it well. I've heard mixed reviews about their other dishes but haven't tried them myself.
