On Safari Foods has been catering lunches for our office Mon- Thurs since late June and we couldn't be happier! Last week, we added Friday brunches as well. Doing away with restaurant delivery was the best decision we ever made, since OSF has tastier (and far healthier) fare. Their Indian curries are to die for, the fresh fruits and veggies are wonderfully varied and beautifully prepared, and the guys also love the "build your own" taco and burger bars. That they are able to work within our company budget (per head/per diem) and still provide plenty of protein and variety for 50+ hungry engineers and code monkeys every single day (many of whom are Vegetarian), with very little griping or complaint from said engineers or code monkeys, is quite the feat! The OSF staff are also very helpful, and very responsive to our requests and needs, which I appreciate immensely as the Office Manager. If I were planning a wedding or other major event in the Seattle area, I wouldn't hesitate to use them personally. Just can't recommend enough!

Just had lunch at their new cafe, it was great , affordable and fast . The meatball sandwich is just the right size and not a lot of sauce. The tomato /mushroom soup was excellent. They have wine and beer too !

I am in love with their wraps, the squash-quinoa salad, and the fruit salad. I first came across these items at a meeting and fell in love with the Thai Beef wrap and the Eggplant wrap. Beyond just the quality of the food, I loved the presentation and that everything is labeled to guide people with allergies and special diets. I have ordered from On Safari for work functions a few times. The wraps are quite large, and some people actually had half leftover to take home. The side dish servings are generous too, which was nice because i felt that the sides at Organic to Go were too small. For me, the most important thing is the taste and this place accomplish that 100%. I also liked that they gave me feta cheese on the side and were generally accommodating. You should know that there is a minimum of $100 dollars per order and that there's a delivery charge of $30. If you take the delivery, then you have to deal with coordinating with them to pick up their platters and serving utensils later. If you want to avoid the charge, you can pick things up at their SODO locations BUT you must make sure to clarify, whether you want disposable serving utensils and platters the real deal (ceramic platters, salad bowls, serving utensils and a large basket for the wraps). Otherwise, if you don't clarify, you will be given everything in nice looking serveweare and you are expected to return it to their location, which is a pretty big pain in the neck. If you are on a tight budget or have a small party, this place might not be right for your organization. I know that the $30 delivery charge has been an impediment for some of my non-profit friends from having On Safari cater for them. Otherwise, it's highly recommended.

On Safari continues to impress me. I have the luxury of indulging in On Safari's cuisine on a regular basis, given my connections at Google Fremont, one of On Safari's clients. Every time I dine at Google Fremont, I feel like a member of some special club. Teresa (On Safari's owner/President) always makes a point to greet me and see how I'm enjoying my meal. I feel so elite! :p I had to yelp again today, given the extra special treatment Teresa gave me. The menu was amazing. It was a shellfish/seafood kind of day, with mussels, scallops, crab, oysters, etc. among other tasty treats. I sat at the lunch table, dining away, when Teresa walks up to me with a bowl of fresh-out-of-the-oven (pan? broiler?), super hot, super tender, super melt-in-your-mouth butter herb scallops. She said, "Have you tried these yet? They just came out. I think you'll like them!" 1. That was so nice of her! 2. She was right. These were the best scallops I've ever eaten. So well prepared. My bf Jeff doesn't even like scallops and when I forced him to try some, he agreed that they were good. Thank you, Teresa, for your fabulous food and fabulous service!

On Safari catered our wedding on March 30th 2013. First, Teresa is amazing! She is such a genuine person, she is honest and helpful and knows exactly what she is doing! Second, The staff is absolutely wonderful and again SO helpful! I feel so lucky that we were able to have such an amazing dinner catered by On Safari! We heard all night and all the next day how much everyone loved the food! We did a buffet style dinner and many people went back for seconds! They even packed up a couple leftovers boxes for us and we ate like kings and passed on some food as well before we left on our honeymoon. I really wish I could stress to you (dear reader) how you will never regret hiring On Safari Foods to cater your event, whatever that may be! Now I'm craving tri-tip steak with a tequila lime marinade.... mmmm...drool...

I'm lucky enough to work for a company that gets catered lunch brought in every day. And we're lucky enough to have found On Safari Foods to do that catering. This is 4-5 days/week we get food brought in, for at least the past 3 months - so I think I'm qualified to write this review ;-) On Safari does everything form sandwiches to Indian food, to Mac n' Cheese to Cornish Game Hen - almost always with some tasty treats for dessert. It's way more variety than we could get bringing in restaurant food and way healthier too. They also handle the particular tastes in our offices, from the vegetarians to the carnivores, to everyone in between. And they adjust well when we make suggestions (which is often, because we are whiny, over-privileged office workers). I even suggested we started having them do a brunch once/week and it's been a huge hit - the breakfast frittata last week was a favorite with everyone. Highly recommended.

I stopped by here quickly last week to pick up some boerewors. It's a type of South African sausage which is a popular cuisine when you go to South African Braai's or as us American's say "BBQ" When I arrived they were starting to shutdown but no one gave me that "oh man why did she walk in? We're closing in 15 minutes" type of face. I was greeted by 3 people who were fine with me walking in before closing. I told them I needed 4ibs ($8.50 per pound) of the original boerewors which consisted of Lamb, Pork and Beef. They also have Lamb, Beef and Creole Pork boerewors. They ran out of lamb when I asked though. Got my boerewors and while the girl rung me up, she let me know that they also served food and did catering. I will definitely come back for lunch but really, i'd come back for the customer service alone. Everyone I encountered was nice. Maybe because it was a Friday and it was time to go home? Who knows, but i'll be back. Oh, the boerewors were fine. I've had boerewors from Uli's at Pike Place and they were delicious. The ones from On Safari were a little dry for my taste but that's just me. The South African's that had it at the braai enjoyed the boerewors and were happy I brought a little piece of home to them.

I was invited to their open house a few days ago and brought my husband and sister in law. It was very busy but the staff was friendly as always and the food was amazing!

On Safari foods catered our event for 250 people and did a great job. The staff was friendly and professional, the food was great and all the guests were hovering around the food :) I would recommend the parmesan and grilled pear crisps, great appetizer. The meatballs were also a big hit. I will use On Safari catering again- I highly recommend them.

I go here all the time Great Customer Service and Great Food I usually stop here for lunch a few times a week. "Ali "and "Iesha" are always very helpful and up in spirits. They have a rotating menu which spices up life a little and can be utterly interesting when you order something new. I would advise any newcomer to stick to homebase and keep it simple when you come here. Since everything is home made I can't refuse the urge to the Meatball Sandwich, Mexican Mondays, and Fruit Salads they make I usually come here with Co-Workers and we all order different stuff and sample off each others portions. I have gotten surprised a few times by some stuff that wasn't up to par but in the past two months all dishes have been super delicious, but that's what happens when you try over 100 dishes from a Kitchen with a Rotating Menu. Great Restaurant and Good People I would recommend any friend to come here I rarely give 5 stars so 4 stars is great coming from me (My yelp account has two reviews and the other one is far from friendly)

Although catering is the focus, On Safari's café fare is dependably excellent. The chalkboard menu changes frequently and is so varied there's never a time you wont find something you'll love. I brought 6 friends today, and everyone agreed what a gem of a place it is: friendly, casual and closely overseen by Owner, Teresa, who knows her way around a kitchen like nobody's business.

I discovered the On Safari cafe while I was working in this hopelessly industrial area. I couldn't believe my luck: I had discovered an oasis of calm and nurturing. I loved the food. The first thing I ever ate here was their glorious tomato soup. I started coming back as often as I could even when I didn't work in the area. Then I started brainstorming how to hire these folks as caterers for a very special event. Unlike some of the other events described here, ours was "only" 30 people--but they were all stuffed into our living room. Teresa and Elizabeth came to our house to figure out how to fit things in, and gave us suggestions for decorating and menu items. Our event was this last Saturday, and it couldn't have gone any smoother or more deliciously. ALL the guests loved the food--they wolfed down appetizers through the dessert, crowing with delight the entire way. They are still talking about how great the food was. My suggestion if you are thinking about catering with these folks: DO IT! As far as food suggestions go, we loved the butternut canneloni and very moist, deliciously-topped salmon. People returned to the buffet many times for the arugula salad and Macrina bread, which went great together. Our multiple appetizers included the S African sausage and the grilled pear on an asiago chop with honey and thyme (probably everyone's fave). Eric, the staffperson, was professional and extremely easy to work with. Teresa, the owner, came by and pitched in until we were all seated for dinner. On Safari Foods made our 30th Anniversary party an incredible success. I am so happy (and relieved) that I can drop by for lunch any time, and recommend them to anyone looking for the best food and service possible.

Just like their stellar reviews say - On Safari Foods is one of, if not the best caterer in Seattle. I order catering for my company frequently, and after going through the mill of caterers in the area, I order exclusively with them. There's no need to go anywhere else! They have such variety and such FANTASTIC food, there's no need. Not only that, but they are ALWAYS on time - which is a concern if you're catering for closed-door meetings, etc. Also, they use Bioware and earthchoice products, which is very important to me when it comes to the countless utensils and such. I noticed one of the reviews (the only review with 4 instead of 5 stars - still a pretty epic record) mentioned that it's a pain to have them come pick up their dishes, but they are so quick and quiet about it, and it saves on all the waste of using disposable serving platters, etc. I think it's a very responsible move on their part. Elizabeth is a doll and so cordial and accommodating. Seriously, everything down to the presentation is spot on. Very professional, responsible, and DELICIOUS catering company!

Can I add another star? I would if I could. Coming to Seattle on Valentine's Day at the last minute, left us with no dinner reservation. On Safari Foods was recommended to me and was able and willing to deliver a fabulous VEGAN meal to our hotel. The food was excellent and there was enough for us to have lunch the following day during our conference - and it was still great as leftovers reheated. Theresa was so easy to work with on the menu and added some nice touches, like printed menus for us. I will definitely contact On Safari Foods again when I need catering in Seattle.

I just had On Safari Foods cater a private party for 30 I had last night. I can't even express how amazing the food was. I follow a paleo diet (no grains, dairy or legumes). Teresa helped me design an all Paleo menu for my event. We even threw in some gluten free mac and cheese for the kids at the last minute which everyone raved about. I work in the wedding and event industry and have known them from years of having their catering at client events. Their food was beyond my expectations. Not only was everything fresh and hot, it was delicious and creatively prepared. Nobody left hungry! I highly recommend this company. Some of the most incredible catering in town and I have had a lot of catered foods in the 24 years in the biz. Run don't walk to On Safari Foods. You won't be disappointed. It was truly wonderful.

Great caterer, they definitely made our event memorable. They were easy to work with and their advice and expertise ensured that everything to the last detail worked out. We started planning our wedding later than most and when we visited the preferred caterers for our venue, Lake Union Crew, we read reviews and visited each caterer. We really liked the menu options that Theresa, at On Safari, created for us and she was very open to any themes or ideas that we had. Although the quote was a little higher than the other caterers we felt like it was a more realistic quote because it really showed us what the max would be for us. In actuality, less people than we thought confirmed so we were able to let them know a couple weeks before and they revised the quote. Additionally, they worked with us on set-up, linens and all the details to make the facility wedding ready. And we ended up getting a refund because the actual cost ended up being less. A big plus for us, was that they had fully licensed and insured bar services. We were able to purchase the alcohol (beer, wine and liquor) and they provided all the mixers, etc. The bartender was great and I don't think there was ever a long line and we had about 75 people. So as far as a menu, we had a cocktail hour to start, with passed appetizers (three options, which I can't remember what they were cuz although I ate some, I really was anxious about getting married). Then we had the ceremony, followed by about 30 minutes more of cocktail time and then the buffet opened. We had Salmon, chicken, rice pilaf, green beans, salad, bread etc, they were all really well seasoned and fresh. We wanted a northwest theme and it definitely was. As the night went on bar service continued and everyone had a great time. The caterers cleaned up unobtrusively and I can't say enough about how helpful and friendly everyone was. I know I'm not describing the food very well, but all I can say is that it was perfect. Everyone we talked to said they really enjoyed it. We would highly recommend On Safari to anyone looking for good food, bar service and excellent coordination.

Okay-so due to circumstances the bride and groom did not get to do a tasting prior to the reception but chose OnSafari. First, working with Elizabeth and her tremendous client concern was a sure sign that the food would be wonderful-and it was! Topped or equaled only by the wait staff and Elizabeth. Guests loved the food and everyone commented on the incredible-and professional-staff. Variety of food offered had something for everyone and received high marks from guests. Thank you, Elizabeth and staff, for making the evening stress free-first one of the whole planning time for the wedding! Final words-use OnSafari for catering-it will be a success.

On Safari Foods catered our late August 2011 Rehearsal Dinner and did an outstanding job! Dinner guests came from far and near and brought a range of food preferences: meat-eaters from the Midwest, vegetarians from India and others who love it all...tasty and innovative cuisine. The food selection was wonderful and the portions were generous. Standouts were: salmon fillets honey-dijon, chicken sosaties (apricot curry marinated chicken skewered with apricots and onions), mouth-watering lentil salad and a special spinich dish prepared with butternut squash. The delicious homemade macaroni and cheese was a favorite, as was the delicate farrotto (farro infused with a bouquet de garni of fennel, carrot, thyme and onion, then tossed with fresh vegetables. A sparkling apple, mint and lime punch was a big hit on the balmy summer evening. Everything was artfully prepared, delightfully seasoned, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. On Safari staff were wonderful to work with throughout all phases of planning, set-up and serving. Rebecca was particularly helpful in providing guidance throughout the planning and menu selection, linen procurement and tableware rentals. She also connected with the venue and finalized logistical details. Throughout the process I found her to be cost conscious and very helpful in working with our budget. I couldn't have been more pleased with On Safari's services. The exquisite food made the evening memorable and we received rave reviews from our guests. Thank you On Safari! Mary G.

Working with On Safari Foods to cater a recent event at my office was a treat. I was tasked with organising both breakfast and lunch for 70+ attendees and On Safari Foods came highly recommended. From the first moment I emailed them, they were nothing but professional. Even after looking over the menu options on their website, Teresa was able to put something together specifically for my event. They were extremely easy to deal with, and offered a wealth of expertise. Teresa arrived and set up breakfast before my eyes, the spread was amazing. The brunch received compliments from all attendees and the fruit was devoured. Lesson learnt: although people munched on the bagels/scones and banana bread throughout the seminar, I'd order less next time. Rachel/Rachael delivered lunch later on that day and assisted me with moving it from her cart to ours, she was absolutely fantastic. The lunch received wonderful compliments from the attendees - the salad devoured, as well as the fruit basket (once again). The vegetarian wraps received myriad high praise. The leftovers kept extremely well and were put out in my department the next day, again receiving lots of compliments (several times I was approached and told that the vegetarian wrap was the best someone had ever had in their life). On Safari Foods were extremely easy-going and professional, I was able to wash all of the utensils/platters and leave them behind our reception area for pick-up the next day. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to cater a function (or family gathering). I never see them open when I pass by their store front, but I may have to take a run by during lunch one day.
