Strip Mall Thai cuisine and it's best. I'm very pleased with dining here for lunch. The people that work there seem to be locals and they put out some delicious food. They are quick and close to my office. There are no pork dishes which makes me think it's a religious conviction thing which is fine. There is plenty in the adjacent lot.

Really a great Thai food place especially for the price. The food is cheap and they make it quick. Pad Thai is $5.99 and many of their other dishes are between that and $6.99. You can't go wrong checking this place out.

We saw many good reviews for this place, and because another Thai place was closed, we tried it. Small corner mall looked meh, storefronts meh, and on entering we found it was a kind of quick diner set up where you order up at the counter. Meh. The prices were really good. Was it just bad budget food? NO!!! we can happily say. It was, in fact, reasonable portions (not huge but not skimpy) of very good, very fresh, and liberally spiced yummy Thai food, cooked before you in an open kitchen: no substitute ingredients, nothing off or erzatz, not watered down - nice and rich tasting. Their five star levels of hotness were accurate too - I asked for level four panang beef and it was a perfect heat. Also, most Thai places no longer make curries with the meat in them; they sauté the meat and add it to their sauce, so they only need to make one sauce base. That usually results in weak tasting sauce - but not here! We had panang beef, fried rice with chicken, and shrimp pad thai. All were great. This place is a steal!! We were happy campers. And this is the best price for a meal we've had since we arrived in Seattle a year ago.

The Tom Kha Kai was watery and acidic. I'd been dying for a nice creamy coconut Thai soup all day. What a disappointment! I was very close to just leaving without eating it was so bad. Service was very slow, despite being few people there.

I love eating here and hit at least two time a week for lunch. The garlic stir fry is my go-to meal. Very fresh and well seasoned. Unfortunately this location has been appropriated by the Light Rail Northgate station project and at last check Namfon has not re-established yet. I hope that they return soon!

This is a review on pad Thai only...so bad I will not return to try any other items. I hate doing negative reviews but personably, I would like the warning before wasting my money. First, the portion is so small. Hence, the very affordable pricing. I got shrimp pad Thai and paid and extra $2 for it plus $2 tip for takeout. Let's start off with the noodles. They were so small and broken up that I couldn't even eat it with chopsticks...I had to eat it with a spoon! Let's make it very clear though, I took one bite and no joke threw it away. The taste was so bland I felt like I was slurping up wet noodles. Also, very obvious that it is ketchup-based. To add insult, there were 3 pieces of shrimp...I know I should be thankful to at least have money to buy food but to be honest, I would rather starve then buy pad Thai here. There are plenty of other great Thai restaurants near by. Do not waste your time if you're looking for authentic pad Thai.

This is an inexpensive restaurant where you order at the counter, get your own beverage and silverware, and your food comes out fast. I ordered a masaman curry with chicken with 1 star. I received food that was so hot my tongue and lips were on fire after a few bites. There were 2 pieces of chicken in the whole dish. Since it was $6 I didn't bother complaining. I just swished juice around in my mouth right after I would swallow my food. The curry was just ok. My friend's food was good, he reported. Zero ambiance to this place but it was clean, and the kitchen is in plain view. There's a lot of room to park. I might come back here and tell them very strongly no heat but maybe not. Food: 2 Service: 3 Ambiance: 2 Parking: 4

Decent... I come for lunch sometimes because I can walk to it. Seems fine but nothing I would send people to on purpose. Have had the panang curry twice - flavor is good, more sauce than chicken, and lots of rice. The prices are good, so I think you are paying less than a place that gives you larger portions, and getting a smaller portion. I'm ok with that because I don't want leftover curry in the fridge where I work.

Most take out places won't get a five from me, so why Namfon? (1) They are very accomodating. My brother only eats gluten free, no meat, except fish. Namfon's response "tofu pad thai with eggs." (2) They are great listeners. Since the food is made fresh, they are responsive to spice levels, accomodations, etc (not unlike other thai places with the one to five). (3) Price. Lunch special is $5.95. Prices are good and portions are great. (4) Clean. I see the cooks washing their hands in the open kitchen. (5) Menu. Great options. Something for everyone type menu. (6) Great iced coffee. I personally like the cashew chicken number four spicy with iced coffee and egg rolls. Around 10 bucks.

Despite what other people stated, I liked the food here. Tasty and spicy enough for me and the family. I had the Thai basil while the others had sweet and sour beef and the cashew chicken. Good food and cheap although the portions were on the smaller side. Will come back next time I'm in the area.

Don't waste your time. Small portions. Over cooked noodles. Literally one piece of chicken. On the flip side the receptionist was nice and helpful minus being a bit of a wait.

This place is good, I always get take out as it's fairly chilly in the store and it's strip mall ambiance. I really like the food here. The tom yum soup is delicious as well as the panang curry. The noodles have been hit or miss. The rama noodles needed more sauce and the pad see ew was good. Basil fried rice is also very good. This place needs to be a bit more consistent before I can give it 5 stars. The flavors seem to change depending on the cook that day. For the most part, tom yum soup and panag curry have been my go to ,but the last time, the curry was quite salty. Same goes for the noodles, one time, they were great, the other, lacking in flavor. Cheap prices here, you can get 3 entrees for under $20. Portion wise, the curry and the noodles seemed a tad smaller compared to other places. Perhaps my bf and I just have large appetites, we usually order 3-4 dishes for the two of us. 3 dishes we're full. 4 dishes and we're stuffed. I like to call in after work and swing by before going home. Tasty food.

I come here once in a while when I want a quick Thai food fix. Luckily it is located very close to my home. The prices are pretty cheap but the portion you get is for that price. So if you want more I recommend ordering a few more items. The food is overall tasty with a good amount of spice. I recommend calling first for take out because sometimes they may take a while to cook the food. A very solid establishment.

We love namfon for takeout. Not so much as a dine in restaurant since its self-served but the prices and portions are perfect (for me). Of course everyone's appetite size is different and some might even complain about their portion sizes but when you're paying $6-ish for a dish that's made with authentic flavor - even more so than some of these other Thai spots in the area, you can't really complain. My husband usually orders 2 dishes which is equivalent to the price of 1 dish at other places :) I took away one star for their spice. The only thing that bothers me is that they are inconsistent with their spice level. We always order a fried rice and with it, we've experimented with different spice levels. Some times a One star might taste like a Three star while a Four star like a Two star. But like I said, we always do take-out so maybe the spice is measured differently between the two cooks ? Not sure but also not a huge deal since we love spice. Just for those who aren't accustomed to Asian spices might want to be careful. On a side note - LOL at the guy who complained about his HOT curry. Like really dude? You want your curry cold or something? And if they had served it "warm" you would've complained about it after the second bite because it would've gotten cold then. In my opinion, the curries are served at a comfortable temperature. Sometimes I think my morning Starbucks is hotter ! Now THAT I have to wait at least 10 mins or so before I can drink. But that's for another review ;)

This place is basically a fast and cheap Thai eatery with great low prices in Northgate - near the Northgate Mall. For those expecting real Thai flavors from restaurants that typically charge double the prices - you'll need to search elsewhere. You order your food at the cashier, pay, then seat yourselves if eating in. You get your own water, utensils, and condiments by the cashier. For vegetarians - the Pad See Ew is pretty good. The soups are not vegetarian friendly; and unfortunately they are unable to make it with a water base. The broth is premade. The spring rolls are basic - probably frozen... and it always comes with the food - not as an appetizer. Whenever we want to eat cheap unassuming Thai food - this is where we come. No expectations... just a place to hang out casually and get some fast basic Thai food. Food 3.5 Service 3 Decor and Ambience 3 Cleanliness 3

Im rating a one star based on my second visit which both were a disaster. The first time i ordered from here, i got a pad thai wirh 5 star. I like my food really spicey but the pad thai was wrong in all places. The noodle was soggy. I cant even use my chopstick. I had to use my spoon to eat it cuz the noodle kept breaking apart. The next reason was the flavoring. What too sweet for pad thai. All i ciuld taste was the sogginess of the noodle and the sugar that was in it. I thought maybe their pad thai was not the strongest one. So i decided to come back a other time. The second and will be my ladt time i ordered from this place was red curry with 3 star. Again it was too sweet. I tasted no original flavor of a curry. The lady who cooked the food is disgusting. I saw her touching the garbage can to put trash in and never washed her hand. She just wiped it on her apron and went working on other peoples food. Thank goodness i didnt see her do it to my food. This place is disgusting and unsanitized. Dont order food from here. Ever.

Halal restaurant, with decent food and small portions. Relatively inexpensive, however glasses of water had particles of misc stuff in them. Nice place but would not recommend commuting for it. Owner is very friendly.

Hygiene is a real problem here, lady cook does not use gloves and use her hands to both clean and prep the food and the booths are smelly and seem to hasn'g been clean in a long time.Food portion is on the small side (had to order 2 entrees to be full). Comparable to mall food almost.

Great communication. That's important for us because we have a child with food allergies. Taste pretty good. Service pretty good. Serving sizes not enough food. Request 1.5 portions to get what we have gotten pretty much everywhere else - a full standard 'to go' box.

I've decided that this is probably my favorite Thai restaurant. The prices are unbelievable and the food is super tasty!!! The restaurant is a bit hole-in-the-wall-ish, but don't let that deter you from checking it out. There are several food court-style tables inside where you can sit and enjoy your amazing, flavorful halal Thai food. Service is super friendly and IMPRESSIVE. When I came here a few nights ago, the wife was cooking all by herself and I swear she cooked five entrees in five minutes. It was awesome! We ordered the basil fried rice, phad thai and the swimming rama. We've also had their phad see ew before, and honestly, everything was really yummy. I liked that the rama had other veggies in addition to the spinach, and I love their phad thai. It had just the right amount of sweetness and same with the fried rice. The rice was a bit sticky and sweet, but tasted just right. I will for sure be coming here the next time I have a craving for Thai; it's so easy for take out too.

I came here once for hunger and returned several times for pleasure. The food here is very well prepared and delicious. The prices are very low for the quality you're getting. How do they manage this? Portions. You won't have leftovers. You won't leave hungry, but it really is always one serving for me. I'm a relatively big guy though so some of you might not finish all of your meal. There are multiple people who cook there. If the guy is cooking he tends to spice up one star more than you're expecting. The girls who cook are right on the money heat wise. Parking is no issue, its a strip mall. It is also close to the Northgate transit center there. As far as complaints about hygiene and cleanliness, I have encountered none of those issues. All of my visits have been within the last year though.

Not for my palate for sure. Dried uncooked rice trumps everything. You get what you pay for here and it is a dirty dive. I understand this works for some, but there is a way to be divey and still have customers keep their appetites. Get it to go if you really are despair at and can't find another mediocre Americanized Thai food establishment in Seattle. I wish I had a recommendation nearby but they all pretty much caters to the Ketchup pad Thai CRAB RANGOON( what the f* does this have to do with Thai food) crowd. Go to Thai Thani in Ballard. It's at least nice and clean and edible with rice that is cooked properly. Now it caters to Ballardian palates. I hope I don't have to explain.

  • Kathy A.

Delicious and cheap! They have the best prices on traditional Thai dishes that I know of in the city. Plus most (maybe all?) of the dishes come with rice. The curries are super spicy and sure get those sinuses cleared!

Very unsanitary. First impression of the place was that it was very dirty. Floors filthy, tables dirty. The cook doesn't wash her hands nor use gloves. She was in a corner using her cellphone then started prepping food. There was no one there when we walked in so they should have been sweeping/mopping the floors, at the very least. You can tell that they do not take pride in their business and it is reflected in the quality of the food as well. Pad thai noodles were soggy and sauce was too sweet. Panang curry was okay but it was mostly coconut milk; hardly any veggies and chicken. Definitely not going back.

There are two good things I can say about my very short visit here. First, the prices were extremely low. I think the highest price on the menu was $6.95 for the entrees. Second, service was extremely fast. And yeah, my compliments pretty much end there. The food was really generic and didn't have a hint of Thai to it. Even if I'm short on money, I don't see much reason to come back here to grab a bite to eat. The place is located in a strip mall, and it kind of reminds me of the countless cheap teriyaki restaurants in the Seattle area, except this one specializes in Thai food apparently. It's also like one of those restaurants in that you go up to the counter to order, and there's a tip jar. I ordered one of the aforementioned entrees, the cashew chicken, and the price was so low that I could cover the cost, tax, and a decent tip with just nine dollars. Awesome. The cook was in plain sight, so I kind of just sat there and mindlessly watched as the food was being prepared. It took only about five minutes after I'd ordered the food for it to be ready, and that is absolutely stunning. However, it was served to me in a cardboard box in a plastic bag after I'd asked for it for here. But to be honest, it doesn't really make a big difference in the long run. Yes, the food is cheap, but it shows. There is absolutely nothing about it to indicate that it is in fact Thai food. You could conceivably label it as Chinese, American, whatever, and nobody would be able to tell the difference. That's the first major problem, just a lack of authenticity. It also meant the food wasn't anything special. The second major problem was that there honestly wasn't a whole lot of food. I guess the amount of food is proportionate to the price, because I wasn't even that hungry when I started eating, and I could have used a little more when I was done. The last problem is that the food didn't seem to be very well-made. It was just a bunch of food cooked and thrown together. There was the chicken, cashew, onions, carrots, and other vegetables on one side. Two scoops of white rice were on the other side, and that's basically it. That normally wouldn't be a big problem, but the rice had an annoying tendency to stick to the cardboard, and the rest of the entree was drenched in a heavy sauce I had to throw most of which away. It wasn't the worst food, but it certainly wasn't the best, either.

Awesome little Thai place in northgate. Service is excellent, very friendly and homely atmosphere. The best part? The food obviously! The cashew chicken and green curry were perfectly spiced and delicious. And the prices (7 or 6 dollars per entree) can't be beat. And for Muslim folks: it's all halal!

No, no no no what is this bull? NO I'm so disappointed! :( I went in today because Thai food. That's it, just because Thai food. Imagine my surprise when it's like $6/7 an entree. I was like fudge yes. I will be here ALL the time. My friend and I got pad Thai. Simple, usually plentiful because it's just like a buncha stir fried noodles. And normally quite delicious. I wanted to love you. I really did. You're so close to my home and everything. My portion at this place was child sized. Literally child sized. No, no no no no no. I'm not joking. Literally. I understand smaller portions for the price, but seriously wtf. Double-u, tee, eff. This is not acceptable. I've gone to the teriyaki place next door, paid two dollars more and got literally three times as much food. No, namfon, no. Ontop of this, the pad Thai was drenched in an oily red liquid. Usually pad Thai uses tamarind paste right? This was ketchupy and oily. My fork was so oily! And speaking of which, we ordered Togo and didn't get any utensils.. or napkins. I don't know if this is normal, but it was quite inconvenient. I know profit margins need to be high.. But Seriously? I'm so sad that you weren't the one. We could've spent so much time together, I could've even grown to love you. I could've loved you Namfon. It would've been great...

Been here a few times, it seems family owned and the staff is always friendly. It is very cheap and you get a pretty good portion of food. Now the food may not be the quality of an expensive thai place, but for the cost ($6-$7) I can overlook that. I will be back for sure.

I was astounded at the quality and flavor of the food that comes out of this unassuming little hole in the wall. Just down the block from Northgate Mall, Namfon sits quietly waiting to tantalize your taste buds with it's freshly made goodness. Prices are college campus-food truck-cheap, made right in front of you, like an authentic Thai street vendor. Service can be uneven but who cares, the food is phenomenal and so very inexpensive. Forget the mall, shop first then eat here, you won't be disappointed.

First time trying this place because of the reviews on here. I ordered the red curry and pineapple fried rice. The curry was disgusting it tasted like I was done months ago and not fresh. Hardly any meat but for sure lots of green peppers. The pineapple fried rice was ok.. Then I had to use the restroom and OMG!! It hasn't been cleaned in months!! The floors all disgusting and the toilet hadn't been cleaned in months either ... I will never go back here!!

Food is good for the price. In the Thai food market it is basic. Probably a C grade. The place is dirty..look in the range hood. Look at the return air duct. Watch the gentleman at the front handle money and clean tables then go make a salad with his thumb inside the bows as he grabs them. When busy they don't have anybody cleaning tables except the guy at the front counter.

I work near this establishment and often walk over for lunch. Environment is almost fast-food like, with plastic booths/seats along the walls and utensils set out for you to grab on your own (which it seems is much preferable when one is on the go!) Owner is extremely friendly, and recognize/appreciates his regulars. The pricing is very good, with each entree around $5-6. The food itself, while not of the highest quality (due to it's cheap pricing), is still fresh and makes an enjoyable meal. I often order the pineapple fried rice, which comes with an assortment of stir-fry veggies, pineapple, and your choice of meat. Wait time is no longer than 5-10 minutes, if that, regardless if you decided on dine-in or take out. I've tried all of their noodle dishes, and they're all great. The only dish I would even think of knocking-on would be the Pad Thai, as it seems that the sauce base they use is very similar to the ketchup-substitute often found at most strip-mall Thai places. Despite this, it is still tasty when one is famished. Curry here is coconut-milk heavy (particularly the Panang), however, this works in my favor as I like the accidental extra-addition of the CM. For others though, it may not be so enjoyable (or for your cholesterol levels!) All in all, if you're looking for a quick, cheap, relatively tasty meal, hit up Namfon.

I like this place because it's really cheap and convenient. It's definitely not the best Thai food you'll ever have but it's a great value for the price. I always get the Thai Basil with an order of Crab Delight (crab/cream cheese wontons). I've tried a couple other dishes but this one hits the spot for me when I'm craving Thai food to-go after work. I also like that they cook for food out in the main dining area so you can watch and you know it's clean!

3.5 stars -- Stopped by for a late lunch after a movie at the Regal Cinemas down the street (a half mile walk). Great choice! Instead of paying $10-$15 for a hamburger and fries in the mall, we opted for this cheaper Thai option. Dishes ranged from $5.95-$7.95. It's really sweet to see the husband and wife duo (assumption) prepare your food in the open kitchen. Hubby got the Red Curry with chicken, level 4 (out of 5) spicy. The flavor and spiciness was perfect. Not too much coconut, not too much curry, not too runny, not too thick. Poured onto the rice = heaven. I had to try the oh-so-original Pad Thai with tofu, level 3 spicy. And, original it was. Nothing special except the sauce tasted more like ketchup than the bold tangy flavors of other Pad Thais I've had. And, there was a vast difference between level 3 and 4 spicy... I had to add my own fair share of red chili flakes to give it a nice kick. This is why I can't give the restaurant a complete 4 stars. Needs improvement here. Mostly self-service- order at the counter, pour your own water, grab your own utensils/napkin but leave your dishes on the table. This is a great, cheap alternative to the pricey restaurants surrounding the mall and theater.

I'm not Thai/Viet or a snobby food critic. That being said, if you are the same and craving Thai and in this area you should come here instead of another Thai place up the street at Thorton. Also you can't be an 'ambiance' person or you'll definitely be not satisfied. This place is pretty cheap, most everything is under $8 AFTER TAXES and all the normal Thai flavors are there. I usually get curry and sometimes the beef is chewy, but then again it is under $8 so I'm not going to complain too much about that. Portions are also pretty good for the sizes. Also they're really quick so I can usually call them as I'm passing downtown in the express lanes and they have it ready for me to pick up as I pass by them.

I wanted this place to be good. I've been on a Thai kick and haven't found a 'go to' place yet. The drunken noodles smelled and tasted like urine; hamster urine. Also the rice smelled the dirty feet. My stomach turned and I couldn't eat. Damn... Good thing it was cheap food.

Namfon location is very convenient from downtown Seattle (20 minutes with traffic) and very near I-5 exit. Parking is free, food is affordable and owner is friendly. All meat is Halal here and they have quite a good selection. We ordered Thai Fried Rice with chicken, Pineapple Fried Rice and Pad Se-Ew which is very delicious. They ask if you want the level of Spicy based on 1-5 ratings. We had not tried the appetizer but will be back tonight to try some and maybe more of the Noodles dishes for dinner.

I gave this place 5 stars because it is exactly the place you need to go when you're hungry after a long day of work and you just want to grab dinner and bring it home. It's not necessarily tastier than most Seattle Thai food, and the decor inside is subpar...but the entrees are all either $5.95 or $6.95 and the food tastes great! That's all I'm looking for when I want Thai takeout and that's exactly what you get here. I probably go back once every 2 weeks and I still love it!

2.5 STARS If you like cheap and fast then this is the place for you. Decent portions. Quick service. Very affordable. I prefer the place over by the movie theatre but the prices are much higher and the parking is only 30 min. I guess I'd come back if I was looking for a cheap and fast meal.

We've been eating at Namfom pretty much since it opened. In my opinion the food is authentic, consistently delicious, affordable and fresh. I like the rice and noodle dishes as well as the soups. My personal favorites: chicken fried rice, egg rolls and lemon grass soup. The services is excellent; everyone is friendly and welcoming.

When I work late nights, I order to-go from this place and they have my food cooked and waiting for me before I even get there. I don't think I've ever waited longer than 10 minutes for my food. They're prompt and have excellent customer service. Their portions are generous for the price. I can only speak to the pad thai, pad see ew and green curry, since those are the only dishes I've tried. The pad thai is pretty tasty and the chicken isn't dry, like most places that offer chicken as a pad thai addition. The green curry was really spicy for 3 stars (out of 5), but maybe that's because I have an overly sensitive palate. It was delicious, nonetheless. And a major plus is they offer extra veggies for freeeee! My only minor complaint is that their pad see ew is a little dry; I wish there was more sauce. So, if you need to kill time waiting for a bus at the transit center or you're just in the Northgate area, and looking for decent quality Thai food at an affordable price, this is your place.

I've never written a Yelp review before, but I figure with my first one I might as well review the place I've gotten lunch just about EVERY DAY since they've opened. Namfon Thai is honestly the best deal on good Thai food I've found in the city, where it's tough to find any quality, filling lunch or dinner for under $10. Every entree at Namfon is $5.95 or $6.95... every one. Plus, it's very tasty. True, it doesn't have the menu variety that some good dinner places (at at least twice the price,) have, but what they do make, they make very well, and fast, especially for so cheap. As an added bonus, they're very friendly, though admittedly I have a regular's bias on that one. Now I know everyone says Pad Thai is the best test dish to determine the quality of a Thai restaurant. I would disagree with that here. Don't get me wrong, their Pad Thai is very good, but their quality shows even more with a few other dishes... I'll list my favorites: - Pineapple Fried Rice (some Thai places don't even make this dish, which confounds me. It's delicious.) This dish is even further enhanced if you ask for some peanut sauce on top. - Panang Curry... I personally recommend this one with an extra helping of rice. - Rama noodles... A delicious noodle dish with peanut sauce. - Kee Mao Noodles... This is item is actually missing from the big board menu inside, though it is listed on their take-out menu... but I like to think of it as a secret item :) There are plenty of other great menu items, but these are my personal favorites, and an even better test of quality than their Pad Thai. This is definitely my favorite lunch place in Seattle. Again, I'll admit my regular's bias... but there IS a reason I am a regular in the first place, and have been for over a year.

This is a solid restaurant! I pick food up here quite often. the red curry is excellent. What i really can't get over is the prices. It's like $6 or $7 for a regular sized order of curry or phad thai. It's about half the price of my other favorite place. Very good!

Love this place for a fast Thai lunch or to bring home food for the family. My picky teens love it. Pad-see-ew is my new favorite. Super fresh. Fun to watch them make the food.

I went in to get Pad Thai around 430 in the afternoon and was quite enjoying the experience. A few bites in, the worker decided it was high time to start mopping.. at 430 in the afternoon with customers in the store. I'm not sure what kind of chemicals they were in the mop water, but it was extremely potent and smelled like straight Pine-sol that had not been cut with any water. I was disgusted and immediately lost my appetite. The food was good but the worker using pungent chemicals in a food establishment is completely inconsiderate and plain stupid, especially when customers are eating. What a complete turnoff! There are a million places to find Pad-Thai that I can safely say I can cross this one off my list and never miss it.

This place used to be pretty good but over the year or two that i've been going there it has gone WAY down hill. There is NO love whatsoever here. The guy running the place asks for your order as if he could care less and the cooks just don't try at all (or so it seems). I return here to try the food once every month or so hoping it will be good again.. but it hasn't been, not yet. If you get your food to go and order anything but the curry, expect dry clumps of noodles with starchy sauce haphazardly poured atop. The vegetables taste like nothing, the meat isn't fresh to say the least. "indescribably bad beef" says my friend. I want to like this place like i used to. But i cant. It's just not good anymore.. That's it.

Before I begin, I've never left a review for a restaurant until now. I went today to visit this restaurant due to the great reviews. The food was average but, nothing to be raving about... However, the customer service I received left much to be desired. The wait time was a bit longer than I had anticipated, which about an twenty minutes for one single dish. When they were finished, they repeatedly called me "cheap" as a way to say that my order was ready. I found this extremely disrespectful and destroyed my experience at this restaurant. This was after I already left a tip thinking that I was going to get good service. Huge mistake and will forever regret making that choice when I paid for my order. I will never, repeat...NEVER return to this place due to my horrible experience with my first visit. This is not the way to treat customers.

I love this place. I work nearby and we order from here all the time. Very affordable and very delicious. My favorites: Pad Se Ew and Panang Curry. Mmm. The curry runs a little spicier than I expected, but it's worth it. Very friendly and very fast.

Authentic Thai food! The restaurant might not look as fancy as the other Thai restaurants, but their food is amazing. I tried the noodle soups and Thai iced tea last night, and I love them! Great deal as well!

Ketchup phad thai, enough said. It's pretty bad though cheap. The fresh rolls we're OK though last time I came here I got some of the sauce they have out for the rolls and it had turned and was disgusting. Don't think I'll be coming back.

Rule one. Do not write a review when you are pissed. Well the food is good and cheap. The portions are not so overabundant that I feel like crap if I eat it all. I work near you so we go here semi regularly. Maybe not anymore. Now that being said. If you choose to go here watch the counter. In the last few times I have been here I was given another persons meal twice. The first time while eating in. I got the no heat meal and the gal at the other table got my 5 star hot phad thai. Then on the way home I stopped by there. The guy forgot to tell me my meal was ready and I waited for an extra 10 minutes looking like a dipshit. All the dude said was I don't know why I did not tell you yours was ready. Tonight I got home 10 miles away all stoked I got dinner for my vegetarian wife like a good carnivore I got her a tofu dish. Well buddy you made eye contact with me as you called me up to grab the togo. There was only one other togo person there she was at least a foot shorter than me, 100 pounds lighter and a woman. How did you mix our meals up? Not even close to the same dishes. Anyhow the food is tasty and cheap. Just check your meals and watch for when it is ready. Manage your own meal. I would hate to see the owner go out of business for hiring the inept. That is why I gave 3 star not 1.

Go support your local halal eatery! Namfon is my new favorite Thai joint, putting it high in the running for favorite joint in general. Hits all the bases. Curries and phad thai pass muster with flying colors; the pineapple fried rice was a revelation. Rard nah seemed a little boring, but maybe I just don't care for that dish. They trust you when you order spicy -- no mollycoddling here. Prices are much lower than you'd expect for this quality. Atmosphere is friendly, bright, and very clean. You get the impression the kitchen is the same. Counter service is even friendly. Solid 5 stars.

This is my new favorite Northgate Thai place. Usually I'd go to Thai Bistro, but why do that when Namfon is way cheaper, bigger portions, better service, AND tastier! Plus they always get my order right over the phone. I've had Pad Thai, lots of curries, and pad see-iew. All great. Also, they're halal and have lots of parking. I took one star off for the ambiance. It feels like your'e in a hospital cafeteria, all stark lighting and plastic booths.

This was certainly fast, and on their opening day to boot - about 5 mins from placing our order to out the door. Quality was reasonable, considering it was under $20 for an app and 2 entrees. I ordered the cashew chicken with tofu substitute (veggies were plain - green pepper, carrots, onion), wife got the pad siew, and we split an order of egg rolls. Both entrees came with white rice. They packed it up in styrofoam, which I'm certainly not a fan of.

My husband and I love Namfon Thai, and go at least once a month. The food is great, it's really cheap (curry, pad thai, other noodle dishes are only $5.95), and close to our place. They don't get 5 stars because their customer service is not so great, especially if you eat there (we usually have to pour our own water, get our own utensils, etc) but for us it's worth it for the good food and price. We usually get take-out for that reason though. Very interesting to see a Halaal Thai restaurant!

Green curry for $5.99 that's cheaper then Chipotle! This place is good, its cheap and its quick. I've been to a lot of Thai places that will serve the same qualify for twice as much. I wouldn't say its the best Thai in the world, but if you are in the Northgate/ MapleLeaf area def check it out!

Came at 3 pm on a Monday, hungry; just a couple other diners in the restaurant. The interior is about what I expected from a strip-mall restaurant: clean, generic, unremarkable. Rumors of ridiculously low prices are true - with a tip (and no drink) I was out of there for $9. The lady behind the counter wasn't jumping for joy at my arrival, but she was pleasant and patient and helpful. My order (vegetarian pad kee moa - never seen it spelled that way before) was ready in about five minutes, hot and tasty. Especially delicious with the salty, vinegary hot peppers. Not life changing, but WAY better than the decor and pricing would suggest! Reading other reviews, I wonder if the trick is to order vegetarian options, an eat them in the restaurant, whole they're hot. Based on price and food quality of my dish, five stars. Decor gets two or three, if you care about such things. Me? I stuck my nose into the noodles and didn't look up until they were gone. A plaid octopus could've juggled tubas and I wouldn't have noticed.

I ordered 4 out of 5 spicy and it still wasn't spicy...but it tasted good still and the service was quick. In and out in less then 10mins.

Almost all of the items here are only $6-7 and the food tastes good. My only problem is that the portion sizes are kinda small.

Namfon is a great hole in the wall that serves cheap Thai food with decent sized portions. The two women on staff there are extremely friendly and have a quick turn around on your orders. The overall spiciness/flavor is a tad lacking, but for that price I can't complain as you can just add your own after.

Under appreciated Thai restaurant with good service, fresh and made to order Thai food. I like the green curry for it's punch and taste. I just wish that the chicken is not like all other restaurant - dry. Service: Very Good and Friendly Food: Good Prive: Fair

I love this place. I've eaten nearly everything they serve, and pretty much all of it is awesome (the sauce for the Lad Nah is a little watery vs. the thick gravy they use at most other Thai places, but seriously, that's the only thing I can think of as a negative). It's become the go-to place for my husband and I not only when we are too lazy to cook, but just want some super tasty Thai food, RIGHT AWAY. That's the lovely thing about Thai cooking, innit? You call for your food, and BAM 5-15 minutes later, you've got it. This place has also spoiled us price-wise, I will admit - it's become the bar that any other Thai place must overcome to be deemed "Worth It." If I pay $12 elsewhere for a meal that I can get for $6 here at Namfon, then BAH on the more expensive place! I've seen many a Thai place slide by because of the "lovely ambiance" and really, if that's your bag, more power to you. I love that Namfon is in a strip mall, small, simple, cheap, fast, and really good. Finally, every time I've been there, the people who work there (it's family-owned) have been polite, cheerful, and helpful. This place deserves your patronage. And seriously, their Pad Thai is one of my ultimate comfort foods. WIN.

This has become one of my new go to spots when it comes to quick delicious food! I admit, the fact that it was in a strip mall didn't make me leaping to try it but I now regret passing by it so many times. Don't be fooled by the atmosphere - dim lighting with booths that look transplanted from a Subway - this place gives you a lot of food for a low price. About $6 gets you a heaping portion of pad thai or pad see ew with your choice of meat. The pad see ew is definitely my favorite. Great flavor, TONS of meat and it's usually ready in less then 5 minutes. It's always hot. I usually get take out and when I get home it's still really hot! The staff is also very friendly and welcoming and offer suggestions on food if you are unsure of what to order. The only thing I'm not fond of are their crab wontons. The one time we ordered them they were really dry and lacked flavor. And if they made their interior a little happier I would probably choose to eat inside more often!

I stopped by this new place for the first time a couple of weeks ago while driving to Northgate mall. It is a tiny little store front in a strip mall, but do not be put off by the exterior. It is clearly a family owned business, and I was told the chef just moved here from Thailand. The food is delicious- and SO inexpensive! It is flavorful, spicy and completely un-greasy. Everything I have had so far has been great but my fave is the pad see-ew. Also- the food is literally made fresh in 5 mins and you can watch the whole operation in the open kitchen.

Decided to try this new Thai restaurant and I'm so glad we did. First, their printed to go menu says they are open until 9am and they do not use MSG (but I thought most store purchased fish sauce has MSG already in it.) Food is quite tasty with it not having MSG in it! We had the Kee-Mao Noodles with beef $5.95 and the Panag Curry with chicken $5.95. Both were really good and prices are super cheap. We will definitely be back.

How can I pass up cheap Thai food? The notion of even having a fast-food style Thai restaurant that isn't like Thai-Go's food warmer style is awesome! They still cook to order.. it's sort of like a teriyaki joint. We came here one night not really expecting much... we walked in and got slightly caught off guard and confused. A worker was taking orders at a table for a large group. We weren't sure if it was a sit down and order or a fast-food style restaurant. We ordered at the counter because the menu was up there. We had two noodle dishes. They prepare it in an open kitchen and it comes out hot. The food was decent albeit slightly off from the normal Thai flavors I get from these dishes. I think it was a little fish-saucy for my taste. The portions are on the smaller size, but the prices are significantly cheaper as well. It's definitely a must try! Since I'm a Lynnwood gal... going the distance for mediocre Thai food is rare. Good for a quick Thai fix for lunch or something, I'd say.

This place was ok, I just ate here for lunch. Me being a fat kid, i just like big portions and for the lunch special I got the sweet and sour stir-fry $6.99. It tasted good except for a few minor details that id like to unpack. First, I didnt really like the portions I got. Whenever you get food to go and they put it in a to go box. Opening that box is like Christmas morning for me, I get really excited. So when I go to open it up and all I see is 2 scoops of rice and the stir fry looks looks like a lonely gang of vegetables with several pieces of chicken peppered in there. I was slightly disappointed. Its like assuming youre getting an XBOX Kinect and end up getting a Wii. Its cool, its similar to what you wanted but its not what you were hoping for. Now the sweet and sour stir fry was delicious, however the cherry tomatoes i could have done without. The stir fry sauce was real yummy and the veggies that soaked that sauce up were good except for tomatoes, cause they were put in whole which meant they didnt soak up any of the saucy flavor. They werent bad but they didnt really help the dish and so I thought it was a little odd. The man at the register was real cool but it did seem like it took a while for our food to be ready and it didnt look overly busy. Ill probably try this place again, but I might have to go somewhere else for lunch that has a better deal, or that just might be a sign i need better portion control. Either way, this place was just okay.

Okay - Why is there chicken and shrimp in the fresh rolls and where the heck are the noodles in them - not ordering fresh rolls again here. Also had the Thai Basil Chicken - Greenbeans in it? Seemed odd but it was pretty good for the price. Yes - I'll be getting take away from here again its right next to the Northgate Park and Ride and is really cheap -

It's great! Try the Pineapple fried rice with peanut sauce dumped on top=) Awesome prices and great food!!!! Don't get the Rard Nah.. it's pretty much like soup with hardly any noodles. The pad thai and cashew chicken are also delicious!

I used to work around the corner when this place opened up a while back. One day, just for kicks and giggles, my coworker and I decided to give them a try during our lunch break. We went crawling back like fiends for the next three days in a row. No joke. Namfon Thai Cuisine became a three day a week habit until I got another job months later that took me to the other side of town. I still make the twenty minute drive out 2-3 times a month when the cravings become unbearable. Now, as a wide-noodle connoisseur, I can definitely attest to the unmatched righteousness of their "pad see ew". I've tried this dish at at least a dozen other highly rated and well respected Thai restaurants in the Seattle area and only 2 others have matched- but not surpassed- Namfon's take on it. The noodles are the star here, cooked to the perfect 'melt in your mouth' consistency with *just* the right ratio of veggies to meat tossed in the best sweet soy sauce ever to grace this discriminating palate. And I LOVE that all of this comes from a small, casual, strip-mall joint! The food tastes way snobbier than the laid back interior and uber-friendly staff are letting on. I may not have seen him/her yet, but somewhere in that place- probably hiding far out of sight- there's a food snob calling the shots. I just know it. And if that food snob is reading this now: I salute you!

Now that we've been a few times, the food has gotten better and better. The eggrolls are amazingly delicious. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the eggrolls are. I imagine the fresh rolls are awesome, too, considering they've been sold out by the time we get there. The fried rices are wonderful. The basil fried rice is nothing short of fantastic and the portion is pretty big. This has become our regular stop before going out on Saturday nights, Service is great for a strip mall type joint. The people behind the counter are always really friendly and helpful. Go there. Eat. I cannot stress this enough. Living in Northgate was a strange idea for us, but between this place and Saffron, we're happy. We'd like to keep this awesome place around!

Wanted some good food for a great price so I yelped "food" in my area. Namfon was the first on the list. The food was AWESOME! I had the chicken panang curry and my bf had the beef phad se-ew. Both were very delicious. Huge chunks of chicken and a full plate of noodles with beef all for under 13 bucks after tax - you really can't beat it. After reading the reviews on the delicious eggrolls, I had to get some on the way out. I paid a little over 5 bucks for 5 small eggrolls. They were good, but definitely not worth the price. Namfon, the day you put meat in the eggrolls is going to be the day that I order them again :) I'm looking forward to going again. If you're still thinking about what you want to eat. This place will surely satisfy your aching hunger for thai. ps- We got our food in only 5 minutes.

I've have been here several times since moving back to Seattle. It's nice to be within walking distance of so many choices. My favorite is the Pad See Ew but still have to try other dishes. The staff is always friendly, the service is pretty quick and the place is clean with lots of free parking.

Food was decent but a little greasy. The one thing that will ensure that we never return was the sanitation. Saw the cook (who obviously hated her job), wash her hands in the pots she cooks in. Later, saw her go from handling raw meat, to the cash register, back to the meat without washing her hands. Made us not want to finish our food. The other employee was sweeping the floors (thought they should wait to do that when there weren't any customers eating) and then started handling silverware. Overall, just turned off by the whole experience.

This is a good place to go for to go fast and casual Thai food! It's super quick and pretty cheap. The food is great. I committed a faux pas by ordering Thai basil pork when I should have taken a clue from the cook in hijab. I don't usually feel uncomfortable, but I did this time. Mostly because I had my heart set on Thai basil pork. Oh well, I'll be back.

My go-to Thai place for take out. Delicious food at a reasonable price! Plus their customer service is wonderful. Amazing pai thai, curry and pineapple fried rice. The only thing I'd change is less ice in the Thai tea, but other than that I'd highly recommend this place to anyone who's craving thai food!

This is my go-to Thai food restaurant! The food is delicious, clean and halal! I am a huge fan of their Phad Thai, curry dishes, pineapple fried rice and garlic stir-fry chicken. They are super fast and friendly with their service. You can take it to go or have a nice sit-down meal. I definitely recommend you check this place out!

Five of us went to this small and clean restaurant near the Northgate Mall. We ordered Pad See Ew, Amazing Garlic Stir Fried Chicken, Pad Thai, Cashew Chicken and Basil Fried Rice. It was all "plate licking good" Each dish was perfectly seasoned and flavorful. The most expensive item on the menu is only $6.95. Great service and only $39.00 for 5 people including tax and tip. We highly recommend.

I love this place! Fast in service, reasonably priced. I've had almost everything on the menu and they've all been super delicious...my fave so far, pineapple fried rice. Can't wait for their desserts to come out! Btw, those who eat Zabiha/Halal, this is the spot.

Went here for the first time tonight. Been hearing about this place from my friends since it opened and am glad I came in. Family run with excellent service. Had the panang curry and amazing garlic stir fry, both were excellent! The curry was little on the spicy end, but if that is your thing you'll love it. Gonna have to try the different dishes out next time I'm here! Oh and the prices, best in town for Thai!

The service is really slow. We waited 30 min for our food. My food was already cold when it was served. The waiter then asked if i wanted it microwaved.... i said yes and he left it in there and forgot until i asked him where my food was... Quality of food is decent. I ordered the Thai basil chicken. Portion is reasonable for the price. It does not have a lot of seating and only has 1 cook.

    (2)
  • Alan W.

This Thai restaurant is a solid 3-star place. They opened recently and don't seem to be super busy yet. The seating is cafeteria style as they have yet to Thai-ify the decor. The menu is a board above the cash register Mickey-D's style. The service is friendly and the food comes out quickly. At $5.95-$6.95 for most meals, two diners will spend closer to $15 than the usual $25 for dinner at an Asian restaurant. The spice-level is slightly above the norm on the usual 1-5 Thai scale so if you want a 3, ask for a 2. The rice tastes as though it has been sitting in the rice cooker for a while and the soup also shows signs of having been sitting there for a couple of hours. That being said though, the flavors are decent. The food is simple yet satisfying. The price is right and I would return, but would not recommend it to a friend.

    (3)
  • Arden L.

The food is 2 stars. I'll give it 3 for the price and friendly service. It looks and feels like a cafeteria and food tastes like it. I'll probably go back and try a few more dishes but it's not going to be a regular for me.

  • H W.

They say they deliver, but in fact don't. I haven't gotten to try the food yet, so my one-star rating is solely based on the fact that they won't deliver when they say they do. :(

perfect if you're in a jam and need some decent Thai. i wouldnt take a date there. the decor and atmosphere feels like a cheap fast food restaurant, but if you get it to go that doesn't matter. I'll go there again if I'm in a rush.
