I think this is my favorite bar in Greenwood. Their microbrews all taste great, and they always have ALOT of local craft beers on tap. Aside from the drinks, their food menu is very good as well, and not your usual "bar fare". This place is usually full and busy on a weekend, so it has a great atmosphere as well. I've never watched the silent films there, but I've always wanted to try. The restaurant is split up into two areas. There is a typical bar-type area with tables and chairs, and the "theater" portion that has some couches, and works out great if you want to relax with friends.

Good Pub food, check.... Draft beerz, check... Huge list of imported beerz, check... Parking? Oh, crap.... Greenwood, just got seriously lucky. Had a nice meet and greet with a couple of buds from back in the day here last night. The tunes on the piped in muzak were decent and not too loud for my overly sensitive 40-something ears. The interior was a bit lacking and cold, but who really checks out the walls. Service was attentive by both the pub-heavily tat'ed dude and the pub-mistress. The draft beer selection borders on the obsessive, granted I don't drink beer, but I will say, those who likey the stuff, should check this place out ASAP! I enjoyed the "dry" rootbeer, on draft, it wasn't overly sweet and looked like I was one of the guys enjoying a nice dark pint of bitter. Three of us had the Ruben. Served on a nice marbled rye bread and toasted/grilled to perfection, only thing I would have liked to see was about 2-3 inches more of the corned-beef. Options of chips or greens was a nice touch. They have a couple of TV screens, nothing hugely daunting, just big enough to watch a good European soccer match on the Telly. So, if you luv beer, hop on in...get it? "Hop" on in as in... Sheesh, tough crowd....

Ok, so we gave this place another try after about 6months after they first opened and their food is soooo much better. Thank you Naked City for listening to us Yelpers and offering a much better menu and did you hire an actually cook too? Good beer with good Food, thank you so very much! Its a great local bar with good food, great beers and awesome prices. I like is to much better than that wierd pirate pub directly across the street (which we literally walked in just to check it out and then walked right out).

My hubs and I are big fans of this place. They always have great beer on tap and decent food. The food isn't your typical bar food - a little nicer than the regular burger and fries. Bonus - if you have a child, you can sit in the restaurant area!! Yay for a kid-friendly bar!

Naked City...you were the result of a last-minute Yelp/Google plea. Arrived from Bellingham to meet up with friends...but, lo, the third friend and resident Seattle-ite had a post-work date. That leaves two dudes with bus fare...and they're hungry. Good taplist? Check. Food menu? Check. We hopped the bus, pronto. The only snafu was sitting at the sparse bar on a Tuesday night while a bartender/barker called out raffle tickets/names/numbers in a voice that would've felled an old-growth forest. It also cleared my sinuses & made the eyes water. Well, at least the winner heard their name. After that, service was great. Had the Naked City dubbel (good effort; not my favorite, but tasty nonetheless), Foggy Noggin red ale (really good; great malty accompaniment to steak salad), and Firestone Walker wheat (what...you think I'm getting a porter for the third pint?). In a fit of madness, I ordered the special....a steak salad. Thought I needed some green in my diet. When it came out, I thought, "Why'd I do that for?" And yet! The steak was impeccably cooked, sliced into strips, laid out over an impressive bed of greens, plentiful radishes, cucumber, red onion, and a smattering of feta. Yeah, it was cold, but this was pretty picture perfect, and challenged my notion of what I'd normally eat with a few pints (i.e. this had no oil/grease...what a thought!). Oh, and soccer highlights were on the tube, though the atmosphere was perfect for conversation, which was had in plenty. Thanks for coming through in a pinch Naked City...I'll be back.

I'm giving this place 5 stars because I have yet to find a small pub-like atmosphere with so many dark stouts on tap. I was a happy girl. Friendly atmosphere, there were a couple families with kids on the "restaurant" side. A couple nearby playing a board game. And of course, myself, falling in love with the lengthly list of beers on tap. If you're a craft beer fan, go here!

What do you think when you see a poster that says: "Ninkasi Beer Served Here".....????? Do you assume that Ninkasi would be served? If you do assume that it's served and want to have a pint would you ask your server for one? What would you think if your server told you they didn't serve it? What would you think if your server treated you like a retard for asking for one? So I get that some places have all sorts of posters and advertisements for everything sold in the world. Naked City isn't really a place like that... so why would they have a poster claiming a beer was sold there if it wasn't? And if a patron asked for that beer why would their employees be so freakin' rude and condescending? In general, why do their employees have to be so rude? I have to say I received some of the worst service ever last night. Sure they have a nice beer selection but it's Seattle... good beer isn't hard to find and I definitely don't need a side of attitude with my beverage.

I love their beer selection, including their house beers. Great deserts. The decor feels kind of anonymous, though, which combined with the noise level makes it uncomfortable to hang out in. I'd expect it out of a place where you go to get drunk, not where you go to appreciate fine beer or eat a meal. If you go when it's slower, perhaps early evening while it's still light out, and sit by the window, I think this place would have a lot to offer.

To go out for beer & burgers this place's prices can be intimidating. But a closer read of the menu (both beer & food) displays where those extra dollars are going. Soft, flavorful pastrami on the Reuben. Vegetarian BBQ sandwich!? Get outta here....delicious. And really $8.50-9 is pretty average for Seattle. The $1 extra for the soup was worth it (Chorizo Gumbo) but a little small. :( We just went for beer week and the environment was pure jubilation as people drank unique beers and enjoyed the rowdiness of their fellow drinkers. Definitely beer hall worthy. Our server was the shit! We walked into a packed house & found a 2-seater near the back. She was immediately there with drink orders and continued to perfectly time every stage of the meal. Nice job blondie! Oh- and the beer. The beer! I got the $8 sampler and they came in mini goblets. I love that. Each beer fit perfectly within its boundaries of "IPA" or "Porter" but was set in such a way that I really tasted each one and enjoyed their unique subtleties. We got a little drunk- always a good time. AND my guy won a pair of glasses in a raffle. We love free stuff!

This is my absolute favorite local haunt. I usually get the beet burger. It's surprisingly delicious and has wooed several of my visiting friends. They have a great menu of rotating beers on tap and a quick, friendly staff that can always make solid recommendations, especially when it comes to drinks. Bravo!

Go here now if you like great food and great beer! The selection of microbrews is amazing and reasonably-priced. Try the jalapeno beer - interesting and tasty. Tried the BLT - awesome. Might even rank as best BLT...yeah, it's that good. The pretzel itself is doughy, warm goodness. But as others have reviewed, the cheese sauce is grainy and only a so so companion. The gumbo...not really gumbo, but it's good anyway. Servers and bartenders are friendly - but it can get really busy here. Plan on standing in line at the bar when putting in beer and food orders. The room attached to the bar is HUGE with a massive big screen projection screen - a great place to watch games and old school movies. I didn't see this until my way out, but right by the door is an expansive selection of board games. Seriously, they even have an "All in the Family" board game - as in that old school TV show I wasn't old enough to watch. Very cool. I'll definitely be coming back. Even if you don't like beer, try their root beer (from the tap, not the can) or some of their ciders.

All my former complaints about this place have been addressed, this place is now the gem of Greenwood. The signature Naked City beers have continued to impress, with seasonal selections that are world class. All the other beers on the menu are locally derived, which is nice if you're a fan of the native beer scene, which I am. There are now waiters on the restaurant side of the room which is a big improvement. The food is also looking better, with good vegetarian options. Still no deep-fat fryer, but the meals are entertaining enough to keep me there most of the time. Naked City is now officially one of the best beer joints in the city, and the very best beer joint in Greenwood / Phinney Ridge.

I love to drink naked. I do it all the time. Naked City is where I go to drink good beer (lots of variety- always something new), and hop on the wi-fi. Various offerings from IPA's to Belgians to ciders and strong ales. I always find someone to chat with, and Rick has an excellent musical selection on the ipod. Happy hour starts at 4pm with $1.00 off beers. The best deals being the beer they brew on site. Lots of food offerings including vegan. I dig the ploughman's platter with sausage, cheese, and course ground mustard. The pulled pork is good and so are the salads. And if you're lucky you may get some warm chocolate chip cookies! Yum! Yeah, it's got its quirks but that's what makes it unique.

Naked City has arrived. And Greenwood you should be thankful. For if the Baranof and the Crosswalk are the evil step sisters, then Naked City is our Cinderella. I found myself sitting in Naked City for the second time on Halloween. Old, scary movies played silently on the tv screens behind the bar, CSS and Band of Horses played over the speakers, and all of the shenanigans played out..across the street. From my seat, I watched as a bumble bee poked her head outside the Baranof's doors and decided to run across the wet, leaf covered Greenwood Avenue, toward Naked City. She wibble wobbled her way across the street in her high heels and itty bitty costume, while we took note. Step in puddle? Check. Trip over the curb? Check. Fall down in the mud? Check. Stand up and tip over again? Check. Take off one shoe? Check. Walk by the windows flipping off Naked City's patrons, while shouting obscenities? Check. Suddenly, the PBR that I could get across the street seemed less and less appealing. True, I still don't need frills, bells or whistles for me to like something, but Naked City offers a bit more class than the other neighborhood joints. If you're looking just to feel the effect of the alcohol you are consuming, then buy a six pack and stay home or wander over to the Baranof. If you'd prefer to appreciate the drink and not be surrounded by a bunch of drunk crazies, then try out Naked City. They offer 24 beers on tap from Washington breweries and many in the bottle choices. Their service is leaps and bounds ahead of the rest and I'm not just talking about just in Greenwood. Friendly, attentive bartenders (no longer an oxymoron), who know what they're talking about. If you're like me and don't know a thing about beer, then you'll appreciate the samples that the bartenders offer you. Through a sample, I came across Laughing Buddha Ginger Ale, which was light and delicious (and tasted just like its name). The owners, who I met upon my second visit, were friendly and circulated through the room checking on their guests. While I have no complaints with the drinks, the atmosphere or the service, there is still some room for improvement. The food on the menu is pretty lackluster and maybe a tad overpriced. And I think it would be helpful to have the beers that are on tap listed in the drink menu, rather than having to go and look at one of the two chalkboards. Overall, it's just nice to have options in Greenwood. Keep em coming.

The atmosphere feels just like what you want to expect from a brewery. Their beer is delicious and the selection is endless, although the appetizers left something to be desired. I was excited to try the beer cheese sauce but it was grainy, along the lines of gelatinous, and the pretzel it came with by far out shined it. Service wasn't quit on point either. I was in a party of three and we explained that we only wanted to stick with appetizers and beer. After our server took down the first two orders, he then promptly turned around and left without asking me what I wanted! One of us had to chase after him to get in my food request. And after we paid the bill, I felt we were being a little rushed. However, this brewery does nail the one thing it should: their selection of local and regional beer.

You're not going to find a better drinking spot in Central Greenwood! The space actually seems like you're somewhere more civilized like Georgetown! :) Cozy, dark, with a reasonable selection of food options that will meet your beer drinking needs, but probably not so much a place for dinner yet. (I understand they're expanding their menu.) More importantly, I was really taken back by the quality of the beers we tasted! The added bonus is that when a Keg runs out they switch the beer entirely, so you're never going to have the same experience! A great spot for a medium sized group to comfortably enjoy a wet Seattle winter. I look forward to it after the first snow! Or more to the point... after the first full day of sledding down Phinney Ridge's many excellent sledding hills! Anyone have a canoe I can borrow for that?

I go to Naked City at least twice a month - I'm a big fan. Their beers are good, and their guest beers, which occupy most of their taps, are very good - though the beer selection seem to get better the later in the week you go (Mondays and Tuesdays are kind of 'meh' on the selection). Their food is very good - I've had most of their menu, and I have no complaints there. The atmosphere is very friendly and fun, and it's a place you can bring your kids to if you want to drink but don't want to pay for a babysitter. My only complaint is that the staff is really hit and miss. There are some who are very friendly and accommodating, and then there are some who forget that they're in customer service - I've even had two who have told me to help myself to water rather bring me a glass of water.

I was the DD for one of my roommates' 21st bday the other night and I got to basically plan out the whole night. I asked her one question: Do you want cocktails or beer? She said beer. (We've trained her well.) So when I heard 'beer' one of my first thoughts was "oh hells yes I have an excuse to go back to Naked!" So we did. Now, I didn't get to drink anything, but our fairly large group of 10ish people all got drinks and they were all very happy. Naked has a great selection, AND they brew their own beers to boot! I love that they partner up with local breweries, not compete with them. Also that they do events like the Brewer's Nights. Super friendly staff, good prices, tasty food.

I love this place. I'm not the kind of person that can pick a single favorite, but Naked City is in my top 3. Brave and challenging taps, and they can walk the talk too. Their own brews are fantastic -- in fact it's usually hard to choose between their outstanding "Hoptrocity" and a guest tap. They usually represent mostly local breweries & I'm always looking for places that pour Double Mountain. Growler fills are available on most everything. Their happy hour puts all that amazing beer at ~$3.50, so it's quite worthwhile. Though I wouldn't change my rating because of this, their space is a bit indifferent. It's very clean and maintained, but it's kind of soul-less. It's neither dark and cozy, nor fleshed out and immersive. They have a lovely bar area, but the rest feels like it's still growing into itself. But damn, I would happily patronize their taps if they were in a parking lot. If you love beer, do yourself a favor and get out there!

We walked in. Sat down. Our group was 10 for a birthday and really casual. As soon as we walked in, our " server" walked up and without even a hello, he started in on what sounded like a scolding. He announced to all of us that there was no way to separate anyone and that we would just have to figure it out. I understand that, but not even a hello or " how is everyone doing tonight?" Nope. This guy seriously looked like a sweaty line cook and was totally unfriendly. Even after everyone got their drinks ( which were delivered by random busers and in the fashion of calling out the name of whatever they had in their hand) his way of checking up on us was to walk up 10 minutes later and say " did I forget something?". Really dude? I KNOW you are going to apply gratuity and its funny that you failed to mention that when you made it really clear that you not only didn't want to deal with us, but you especially were not planning on going out of your way. That was the worst first impression of a bar or restaurant I have ever had. I'd rather spend my money at Yen Wor.

Just like all the other bad reviews on here I must say that the service at this place is absolutely horrible! That is all I can review since we never actually were given any "service" while we were there. We sat at our table for about 15 minutes waiting for a server that seemed determined to not make eye contact with us. He walked past our table about 4 times and never once gave us so much as a glance. Not even when I put my arm up and said "Hey we need help" did he even acknowledge us. The kicker is that when I went to the bartender to tell her what was going on she didn't seem to care one bit. At this point I told her we were leaving and she just shrugged and said "okay". Not sure if we didn't "look the part" or if the servers are just horrible at customer service, but we won't be going back to find out.

This is a nice clean beer bar. The Dons are very nice and hospitable. They've got a great selection of ~24 quality craft beers and a nice bottle list. The staff was friendly and helpful and quite willing to offer up lil tasters. The pints and schooners are a little on the pricier side but hey, these are hard times and they are discounted at happy hour. There food menu is mostly lil appetizer dishes like cheese plates, cold cut plates, hot pretzels, pickled hop shoots etc. *EDIT: they have now expanded their menu quite a bit! This is now one of my favorite beer bars in town!

Didn't spend much time here but I would definitely go back. Decent beer selection including some nice hard ciders. Didn't try any food but the menu looked like it had some good options. Plenty of space here and it seemed like it would be a good place for large groups. Clean bathroom is always a plus :)

$1 off draft beer, cider, and wine at happy hour!! They have tons of rotating beers/ciders on tap and I'm a sucker for trying new things so this is a major plus. I'm not usually a big cider fan, but their Tieton apricot cider (also available at your local PNW Whole Foods!) is absolutely delicious. DELICIOUS. As for food, I'd rate it something like 3 stars. I had the brisket with mashed potatoes. It was aiiiight. The more cider I drank, the better the brisket began to taste. I suppose you're doing something right if I like it lots eventually right? Also, the baked pretzel was only mildly impressive-- I felt it was a little oversalted, but the white cheddar sauce served on the side was delicious. I secretly wanted the server to leave behind the ramekin so I could greedily sneak fingerfuls of white cheddar throughout my meal... it's a good thing he took it away. The atmosphere is great-- they have a screening room in which they play movies (duh) and had Turner Classic Movies on the TV when I walked in which is super refreshing when contrasted with ESPN at every other bar. I'd say Naked City's definitely a good place for a beer and maybe a snack or something small to tide you over, but I'm still not fully convinced I like their food. Maybe I need to try a sandwich one of the many many times I'll be back. Cheers!

My favorite brewpub ever! Not only does Naked City brew some of the best beer I've ever had, they always have a range of local microbrews on tap so there is always something new to try. Their food menu is great as well, the pulled pork sandwich and burger are standouts and their homemade french fries are delicious. Great service and a great atmosphere, very much worth making special trips to go here.

I cannot get over how incredible this place is! I absolutley love it. They have their own amazing selection of beers as well as beers from other microbrewers around the nation. Then there is the food...my goodness the food! One of the best burgers I have had in the area! The truffle fries can be a bit too salty, but everything else is delicious. The music is always perfect and there are always random black and white movies playing. If you love great beer at great prices in a great atmosphere, you need to check out Naked City!

This place is bigger than I remember, maybe they've remodeled in the last year? We went last night to meet up with friends and partake in some of the offerings associated with Seattle Beer Week. We found a table for 7 + baby right away at 6pm on a Saturday night. That place is kid friendly, as in they allow children in one of the sections, and they even have high chairs. Our friends are new parents and they *love* beer, and were they grateful for a place where they can feel like responsible parents and get their beer on. I had the Avery White Rascal Whit in a can, chased it with a pint of Iron Horse Double Rainbow. Both were excellent. Service was good too, our waiter looked like Professor Professorson from the TV show Community. Noise level was lively but not loud, easy to carry on a conversation without getting too close.

By the time we made it to Naked City Brewery, I was a tid bit tipsy from our beer trek all over north Seattle. And being tipsy, what does my perverted drunk-ass order? The Naked City "Big Chocolate Wood." Of course this was one of the best dark, malty, rich, woody, chocolately, samples of heaven I have had in a long time... You guys are sick freaks! I am talking about beers, not men. Anyways, I am a perv when I am buzzing. My boyfriend ordered the Hopworks Organic IPA which was a nice foreshadow into our upcoming beer trip to Hopworks in Portland. They had a ton other beers on tap from other Westcoast microbreweries.... Port Brewing, Boulevard, Eel River, Elliott Bay, Hopworks, Ninkasi... All worth trying a taster of. Didn't try the food, but the chili dogs looked and smelled mouth watering.

  • Nathan R.

I'm rounding down on a 2.25. This place has a lot of great beers on tap- but, I think that the prices are a dollar or two high for what you get. I mean I enjoy the selection and all- and I tried some great IPAs that were truly tasty- but, I wasn't so happy with what I shelled out for them. The decor is a little wanting- and I'm not sure how I feel about the glass barrier between the dining and bar...I mean...aren't there enough barriers around us as is? Plus it reminds me a little of the BofA off of 15th- am I making a deposit here or drinking an over-priced beer? Also, I see potential for the shiny side of GA coming out to this establishment- (see PNW review), which usually annoys me.

  • Kat F.

Still one of my very favorite places in Seattle. A lot has changed since my last review: they've expanded both their space and their menu. They no longer have the truffle pate but they have delicious fries and incredible mac & cheese now. They no longer tell you which keg is coming after a current one blows but instead have a list of "coming soon" to one side of the beer menu, which is almost more fun. They've still got one of the best beer selections around and their staff are (almost always) friendly and helpful, even on the busiest nights.

I was eager to try out Naked City as one of the new beer spots that has opened since I moved out of Seattle in 2005. I showed up there around 9:30/10 on a Friday night, hungry and weary after trying to get dinner & a drink at several places in Ballard. My first impression was a little chilly, partly because I was rebuffed from a bar seat because some guy had left his drink there (sans the typical coaster-on-top to indicate that he was coming back) and the barmaid kinda gave me the stink eye. I grabbed a menu and hung out at the counter back from the bar, and luckily a seat opened up within a few minutes. I was kinda excited by the food on the menu, as it all sounded pretty good and the prices were very reasonable. However, the food was not nearly as tasty as its description on the menu. The beer list was very diverse, but it almost seemed to be trying to cover too much ground, as 3/4 of the beers on the list that looked good to me were actually gone already. I ended up ordering a local IPA, but I wasn't super impressed with it. It was clear from the way the staff addressed other patrons around me that if you are a regular, you are treated like a king in this pub. However, the staff gave me only the most basic of attention to fill my orders. One bartender was willing to give me a few tastes of various beers I wasn't familiar with, but the rest of the staff seemed indifferent at best. Sure, I'm not a local, but they don't know that....what if I had just moved into the neighborhood? I don't know that I'd ever become a regular.

This is my favorite place in Seattle for beer. I went on opening night, and then the next night, and then have been going about once a week since for a couple years. Bartenders there are super nice, and recognize the semi-regulars as well. There are always rad old movies always playing on the TVs instead of lame Mariners games too. I wouldn't eat dinner there though.

Its a pretty good taphouse. They have an interesting selection of beer that will keep you on your toes. We tried the crab/artichoke dip and the girlfriend liked it, I thought it was ok. The late harvest beer is a great flavored beer. The cider was cherry with over 6% alcohol content and tasted nice. The good: good beer and the bar is nice. The bad: The restaurant portion is slightly thrown together Thanks (hopefully yelp wont block this one.... I dont work at a bar yelp, I just drink like a fish!) -Thanks

Some 30-something dudes in hoodies (disgruntled with meaningless tech jobs?) maintained a respective distance from each other at the bar. A black and white film letter boxed along carefully modest flat screens and some jazzy blues kept the beat, maintaining a very low-key, Seattle vibe...... all perhaps in an attempt to deter roaming meatheads such as myself from devolving the Brewery into another Taphouse-style singles scene. Wide selection of local beers, good service. I had the daily special: "The Italian Stallion" ... pastrami, parmesan, basil, onions, on Challa bread. I would Holla for that Challa again.

This is a great place to have beer...or six! The staff is friendly and pro-beer education. They'll let you sample beers until you find something you like and talk til they're blue in the face about it. Truly how every 20+ tap beer place should be. Thank you!

5 stars for beer, 3 stars for food. Absolutely love the rotating beer selection here, one of the best in Seattle for oddball microbrews that hard to find on tap. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good place to try some new brews. Food ain't bad. *Shrug* Update: They've added a fryer. Hellzjeah. Fries make every meal better. I'm still keeping the overall rating at a 4, but I'd say the food has improved with the addition of fries. Me likey.

So finally, 3 years after my first visit I went back here. I'd heard only good things, but given my first experience I was hesitant to return. I'm so happy I finally went back. Sure it's been awhile, but man have things changed! Servers, great beers, better food (and prices) and still a nice atmosphere. Glad things have improved so much, will be returning!

There alot to love about this place - fun neighborhood (and not as congested as other parts of Seattle), good food, great atmosphere, and a stellar beer selection. This place is definitely not for Bud Light drinkers. I really like how not only do they continuously rotate their taps, but they also tell you what's next when that current keg is emptied on the beer list. We love this spot because it's really laid back - definitely a good bar to come with friends to just hang out. They also have $1 off during happy hour, which is always great.

Naked City is a pretty cool place. I'd heard many things about it from people, and I'd been meaning to check it out. We finally decided to go here on a Friday night. The whole restaurant is seat yourself, so we watched like a hawk for a place to sit, which paid off, because we found a spot at the bar within 3 min. The bartender was nice, and got us our drinks pretty quick. The beer selection was great. They were out of a few of the beers, but the cool thing is that on their menu they have a reserve keg of another beer waiting in the shadows. We both ordered food too, which based on the selection, looked great. I had the meatball sandwich, which tasted good, but the meatballs, which were lukewarm at best, which was definitely a letdown since the rest of the components of the sandwich were great. If they ensure their plates are at a high standard everytime and not rushed, this place would definitely be a 4.5 star. I'll definitely be back though, it's still a great addition to Greenwood. Naked City is easily accessed by either the King County Metro #48 on 85th, or the #5 on via Greenwood Ave.

Great beer selection, great food, cool ambience. I visiting Naked City a few nights ago and had a fine experience. The service was prompt, the beer was cold and they were playing a movie on the big projector in the back room. This will definately be a stop on my Greenwood pub crawls.

Oh. My. God. Fantastic beer selection. Food from the heavens. Sassy, fun and attentive waitstaff. Next time I'm bringing my sleeping bag and tent and I ain't leaving.

I finally made it up to Naked City Brewery after a year or so of putting it off, and now I regret not having visited sooner (thanks CStan and KStan!). This place really gets it right. Awesome beer selection (mmm, Monk's Blood), interesting (and good) food, and great service. Why wasn't this place open when I lived in the neighborhood? Naked City's in-house Hoptrocity was a nicely balanced IPA that was way too easy to drink (though not as hoppy as I expected from the name). I didn't try any of the other house brews simply because there were so many other delicious beers tempting me. I'll definitely be back soon (hopefully before they run out of Monk's Blood).

I came here in the early afternoon, so I can't judge how crowded it is. The bottle list overwhelms me. I can barely make a decision when it involves four items - they have a BOOK! a BOOK full of different bottles of beer you can order. Aiya! Anyway, I had the sliders and the Saison Deux when I was here. The beer was light and refreshing - it was on draft (yes! I didn't have to decide via the bottle list). The sliders were salty and delicious, excepting the onions - they tasted weird...

Naked City is a fine little establishment in a part of the city that's still reinventing itself, and if it's any indication of the direction the neighborhood is headed, Greenwood residents are in pretty good shape. I met some buddies there for a boys' night out, and what was supposed to be a light dinner and "just a few beers" managed to turn into closing Naked City and then migrating across the street to the Baranof for a nightcap, where one of my sloshed compatriots declared that the only true Americans are George Washington, Ben Franklin, and Cliff Burton. It was one of those kinda nights. But I digress. The menu is a modest but interesting collection of dishes ranging from traditional savory pub grub to inventive vegetarian options. I tried the vegetarian Hazelnut Burger, and it was okay. Nice flavor, but the ingredients-to-bun ratio tipped a little too far to the bread. Next time I'll probably stick to the standards (reuben, meatball sub, turkey/havarti, etc), which were reportedly quite nice. However, we didn't go there primarily for food. It was the beer menu that prompted the visit. 24 taps featuring a selection of unique, top-shelf ales from around the world, plus a respectable bottle service. There were a number of winter brews still on tap that are slowly rotating into different selections as they run out. Somehow I wound up with the itemized receipt at the end of the night and we collectively managed to sample most of the draught options, which is probably how we wound up at the Baranof later on. It was pretty busy we when arrived, and stayed busy until closing, and our waitress was awesome, and she appeared to be the only one working the tables. She knew the beers on tap and would describe/recommend them enthusiastically when we were pondering what to sample next. Event though it was busy, empties never stayed empty for long. Although we were all suffering dearly the next morning, Naked City certainly hasn't seen the last of me. Great atmosphere, good service, outstanding beer selection.

Great staff here and friendly service, which is often hard to find at more upscale bars. The buffalo chicken sandwich was heaven- the blue cheese they use on that thing is of such high quality that the flavor will rock your tastebuds like you would never expect... not all that spicy but the perfect buffalo flavor... The vegetarian field roast BBQ is sweet and perfect with the toasted roll they serve it on. The breads here are what make the sandwiches. I was in HEAVEN. Veggie chili and black bean soup were also a hit. The bartenders are awesome and happy to help you select the perfect beer and their beer choices are endless so there will definitely be something to please every palate. A definite must in the Greenwood area :)

Naked City offers a delicious housemade veggie burger made with beets. A great selection of beers as well. The whole wheat pretzels are kind of nasty and oversalted, but that's really my only criticism. Can't go wrong with most of the menu.

I've always liked this spot (went to their grand opening a few years back). If you're a beer geek, or just know how to appreciate a good brew, it's a great place. They have a long line of taps, almost always boasting some rarities (Russian River, Lost Abbey, and Cascade are frequently seen), and they're great about telling you what's coming up, as well. One thing I appreciate is their loyalty to Washington breweries. There are always at least a few local micros, and I love the blend of well-known crowd-pleasers like Pliny with the lesser-known one-offs from places nearby. They also make their own beer - the brewery in the back room opened within the last year - and they're very tasty as well. One thing people might not know about Naked City (even if they're regulars): they'll fill growlers for you to take home, and they're very reasonably priced. I've always thought the food menu could use work. The kitchen is small, but I've never been impressed with the food that comes out of it - the only reason they got 4 instead of 5 stars. The staff is friendly, though not too talkative. I've always enjoyed bartenders who are a bit more outspoken, offering up their thoughts on what you're considering ordering, and the tenders at Naked City are far quieter. It's a bit dark inside, but they have plenty of seating - a long bar, a back bar, and an area with family-friendly tables. They even offer a selection of board games. Watch out for Friday and Saturday evenings, though - it gets extremely crowded. I'll remain a regular so long as I'm in the area, but if I move away from Greenwood, they'll need to work on that menu to get me to make a trip. All in all? Great place.

Good food, nice beer selection, but it took over an hour and fifteen minutes to get our food. On a weeknight? The waitress was nice enough to comp us a burger. If you aren't in a hurry give it a try. If not, you might want to head somewhere else.

Meh, indeed. Perhaps it's just that Naked City's idea of Good Beer is not mine, but trying the sampler of 6 beers yielded 2 IPAs that made me want to spit them out, a red that was almost bearable, a porter that had no robustness, a blonde that I liked and an amber that I thought was lovely. The only saving grace was the Anthem Cherry Cider, which was spectacular.

First, the positive. There is a fine array of beer on tap that is constantly rotating, the prices aren't TOO excessive (they aren't cheap, either), and they take good care of the beer. Greenwood is a good location for them, too. The negative. Frankly, this place embodies all there is to hate about northern Seattle. The owners, while not rude, aren't friendly. The people who work there range from not friendly to actually rude (the blonde who some people think is the friendliest and makes stupid "easy peasy" cracks has been rude to me, even), and most of the people who go there are bland, predictable, reserved, and unengaging. Also, the decor is uninspiring and the food is often undercooked. I suggest that the owners give themselves a course on good customer service and then pass what they learn to those they've hired.

I've been to Naked City about 3 times now and I can officially say that I really like the place! The first time I wandered in here, it was right after they opened and they had the whole, "order at the bar" thing going on. The food was okay, but it just wasn't quite what I was wanting in a taphouse. The second time, there was table service, it felt a little cozier and the pretzel I had was great. Last night, they won me over with their insane amount of beers on the menu, some delicious olives, and sandwiches that looked delish. Our server was great, and the bartenders were great at helping us choose our brews. Quickly becoming somewhat of the 'heart and soul' of Greenwood, along with Gainsbourg, Neptune, and the Baranof of course.

I usually adore Naked City. We drive from Marysville to spend our money here. The beer is fabulous. Tonight the service wasn't the best (how many times do I need to ask for water?) but the most disappointing part was the burnt food. Normally the food here makes me make noise. Tonight the bacon in my BLT must have been cooked with a blow torch (I think I lost a tooth) and the fries were so indelible that I still have a burnt after taste haunting my palette. Really disappointing.

I went there a few weeks ago and was impressed by the long list of beer! Especially, they have Belgium beer that I love. This brewery is a few blocks away from my new apt and I'm so glad that a nice brewery like Naked City is nearby. This means I can get drunk and walk home :) I didn't order food, but I stole some of the pretzel with cheese which my friend ordered and was pretty good. It was a Saturday night when I went there and the place was pretty packed. I'm going to try to go there on the weekday night.

AMAZING. One of the best breweries in Washington, in my opionion. They've only been around 2 years but have already earned a major following, and I love the rotating beer selection from their own brewery and others. There's probably close to 20 different craft beers on tap and you can't find a cheapy national beer in the place - just the way I like it. The food is delicious, it's all local sustainable and rotates about every three months. Instead of offering burgers and typical things like that, they do a lot of sandwiches on artisan breads, salads and small platters. I really love their pulled pork sandwich and their spicy chicken sandwich. The restaurant allows kids and has a small kid's menu too which is great for families that still want a pub-like atmosphere. The TV's play old movies from TCM, I've seen Citizen Kane on there before and some other good classics. They don't play sports (thankfully, I'll go to a sport's bar if I want that) and they have the captions on so you can follow along with the movie if you want. Lots of fun events like brewer's nights and contests like "Kill the Cask Thursdays" - the biggest complaint about this place is that's its so popular, it brings in a huge crowd daily and it's hard to get a table after 6:30pm. More seating would be nice but they try to accomodate as best they can and I appreciate that everyone's not all jammed in together.

I totally got naked at Naked City. Yeah, I wish. Last night I headed here for the first time and I LOVED! It was kind of a big night. I was bringing the guy I am totally smitten with to meet some fellow yelpers. So I was a bit nervous. But that was quickly brushed aside as we were warmly welcome by the staff and friends. I drank a delicious IPA (I think?) and he drank the Randall, which was delicious too. We had a couple of the pretzels with cheese sauce that I would have bathed in. (If you know me, you know I like the cheese). We split a Reuben sandwich, and it was delicious as well: loaded with meat and cheese and splitting it was a good option. The black bean soup was meh, but the guy I ate it up. I am so glad I tried here, and will definitely come back for a pint and a bite.

This place had a fantastic selection of beer and the food menu was on point!!! However, the customer service was beyond terrible!!! That is why I gave it a one...I would not go back to this place because the staff are not only unfriendly, but more importantly act as though, you, the customer, are an inconvenience to them! I don't care what you have to offer, if your staff is rude, it only reflects poorly on the entire company.

Aside from its overpriced menu, beer menu you can find anywhere and blazingly slow service, the owners apparently aren't interested in being good neighbors. G'wood is my hood, but why would I patronize a place that can't hold a fundraiser without blasting 80's rock all over my neighborhood and literally chasing me out of my home for the day? The place is owned and run by adolescents. Here's a hint, G'wood isn't just the businesses that front on the avenue, it's the people that live here, for several blocks around you - who would be your customers if you gave them any thought or consideration. Folks, you can get as good or better anywhere else - even within walking distance, so why not patronize an establishment that cares about it's 'hood?

Definitely do yourself a favor and mosey along in here. It's the best bar in Greenwood, and easily one of the best in the city. Anyone who wants to dive into the unique microbrew world will find their niche here. I tried the Walking Man Black Cherry Stout, and it was killer. The fact that the bartenders allow you to sample beers (and that they have an awesome vertical cup cleanser) makes you want to sit at the bar, rather than a table. Luckily, I tried the food and it was just as good as the beer. The Hazelnut Burger was great and had the unique fixens (apples, anyone?) that I love. I wish they had fries, but I settled for Tim's Cascade. I love old Timmy's chips anyway, so it's not a huge gripe.

Fabulous and elaborate craft beer selection! Lots of specialty beers, seasonal drafts, and unique creations. The food is great, I had a portobello mushroom sandwich- a staple in my dining out diet- and was very impressed. The service was fast and friendly and the environment is casual.

  • Tim H.

The beer is great, they have tons of it and for sure you can find one you like. Why they all cost at least $5 a pint is a bit of a mystery, especially at the end of civilization in Greenwood. The food is OK. If you're hungry you can get something and not be hungry anymore. That's about it. It's not something you're going to be craving later. The service is hit or miss. The newer employees are friendly and helpful, while the folks that have been there a while seem a bit entitled. Thinking as I write this, that's kind of what I think of Naked City, the whole place just feels like they know they have you. They seem to have come to the realization that if you want a good beer in a decent environment near Greenwood, you're going to have to go Naked City so they don't have to try too hard, and they don't.

When I travel I check out the food/beer scene before I go. Thank you to my friends on Yelp Talk for all your suggestions. One question, were the reviews for Naked City purely on the beer? I was going to go into all the detail of our evening but decided just to simply say the beer was good. The service from our server was great. The management was rude and unaccommodating to the 8 of us. In my opinion a "slider" isnt a sammy cut into 4 pieces. I dont know what happened but the whole thing was a bummer. No, I will not be picking up a pint glass on my way out for my collections even though I love the logo.

Despite the better than average marketing and reviews, after visiting this establishment I can't say I'm very impressed. It looks like a college town dive bar inside. Ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwitch with Fries (Portions were small) fries were soggy and limp. Bartender told me they didn't have ranch when I asked (who just doesn't have ranch?) in stead asked if I would like some house made blue cheese, which I accepted, turned out to be some room temp separated brownish goop that in no way resembled or tasted like blue cheese. Beer selection is good though. Bottom line: This place earns it's name as, if all you trully care about is the beer than try and find it on tap somewhere else that actually provides good food, condiments, and atmosphere.

My friend couldn't decide what to get. I told her to order a glass of poop. She did. Everyone laughed. A few minutes later, the waitress came by with... a steaming glass of poop*. I stand by what I said in my last review. It's hard for a group of 5 or more to get everyone seated comfortably. And a good tap list doesn't make a good bar. But a staff who have fun with their jobs and their customers do. *Note for the health inspector: it was chili.

This pub got my low review for slow poor service and miserable attitude. Wanted to try it out because always seemed busy and full. I was dissapointed, the food was ok but since the kitchen was being worked on could understand that. Beer selection was good and the prices were ok. Sad that the service was poor would love to have a local that was friendly!

Great brewed on site beers and guest beer line ups. More of an upscale food menu compared to the typical pub grub. Organic and local selections.

Decided to do venture out to greenwood because I was tired of going to ballard and cap hill and was glad I tried out naked city. It's large enough to have enough seating for a larger party, without losing a sense of hominess and feeling like I'm eating a giant hot dog in costco. They only serve beer and wine, which was kind of sad for me because I love a good cocktail, but their beer selection is great and have high enough alcohol content that I didn't miss my bourbon much. We got there a little earlier on saturday (about 7ish) and it was less than half full but it quickly filled once it hit 9 and had a great energy to it. Pretty down to earth crowd and generally there to just hang out and enjoy a solid beer. The food was decent - apparently the black and blue chicken sandwich is awesome (I had orderer envy because I got the roast beef sandwich which though tender was not my bag). But honestly you should come here with drinking beer in mind, not the food.

I avoided this place for too long due to the name, but decided to try it out when I heard that they serve framboise. I am glad that I did! The food was great, they have my favorite drink, and the atmosphere was hip and comfortable. They carry a huge selection of beer, both their own, and other local breweries. The only reason I didn't give it 4 stars was that it was a bit loud, and rather dimly lit. But even so I had a great evening there, and would recommend it to beer lovers everywhere.

Beer was great, food was wonderful, service was good. The food menu is very limited, but the beer selection is fantastic. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to go out for a beer, but not to expect a "fancy" dinner.

Great food and a long line of taps thhat you don't see every day. The place is kid-friendly and our waitress, April, totally charmed my 17 month old. The pulled pork sandwich was great and just the right size. My companions had the turkey sandwich and the french-dip and both said they were exceptional. I just hope there will be enough sitting space if I come back on a boys-night-out.

About 4 weeks ago we wandered into Naked City parched and ready for our final relaxation pose, pint to lips, after a medium-easy yoga practice. The most adorable boy you ever saw was waiting for us behind the bar. He placed the extensive beer menu before our aging eyes. Being vain, and possibly just lacking my readers, I looked instead at him and asked, what do you like? Our bar tender's exuberance was infectious. After several tastes of tasty beer we settled on Pliny the Elder. It was fruity and floral and tasted exactly like spring. We've been back every Thursday since. And every Thursday we are surprised by some new wonderful mini-micro selection. Pliny hasn't been around much, but last week we finished off the keg of Spring Reign. Go for the beer. Stay for the serious beer.

We went to Naked City after a movie with another couple during Seattle Beer Week 2009, and I have to say that I was very very impressed. It was very busy, due to the festival I'm sure, but the service was perfectly acceptable. The tap list was very, very impressive - and who are we kidding, that's what matters at a pub now, isn't it. I can't speak for the food, as we ate beforehand, so I'll just forgo comment there. One of my favorite things about Naked City is that you can add their beer feed to your favorite RSS reader (ie Google Reader) and keep up on whats new and changing. Literally every time a keg goes empty, they fill it with something new and send out the info to the feed. Definitely worth the visit for a Northwest Beer lover.

So I don't drink beer all that often so this is not about their beer selections. Although from my friends I guess they have a pretty decent selection. So came in here on Saturday night with my posse. It was pretty packed but we managed to find a table for 6 in the back....score. Our waitress was nice and very funny. Everyone at the table got beer other then me....I got a mimosa. Umm there mimosa are different. They aren't bad but they do have a lot of pulp in them...which I find weird. All in all I would drink it again. My friend and I got dessert and OMG it was yummy. My friend got the red velvet cake which was pretty tasty. I got the Granny apples which was amazing. I loved the crust and it was just right amount of sweet. My only complaint is that it was cold. But that is how they serve it. I like the vibe here. Very laid back but classy. Oh and I love all their beer coasters.

This is undoubtedly a great date spot for beer lovers! I am a beer enthusiast, so when I met a guy who wanted to take me here for a second date I was like "This guy is The One!" Things didn't work out between us, but Naked City definitely made for a great date. The atmosphere was casual, but still just sophisticated enough to be date-worthy. Don't let that elevate your expectations, though. It IS a pub! We sampled all kinds of incredible brews ... of course the tap list has changed entirely since then. The food was mighty tasty, too. We shared a delicious mixed green salad and pretzels, which reminded me of my favorite microbrewery in back home in Arizona. For dessert we shared a Young's Chocolate Stout. For added romance, ask for two straws.

Not much to say other than Great beer selection. Variety in both flavors, styles and ABV. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. The kitchen has improved over time as the menu has evolved. My wife is a veggie and they have a ton of options for the non carnivore. They are a great anchor to the revitalizing neighborhood and look forward to their Lebrewski. Please make me some more!!!! PS thanks for allowing us who are tied down with kids a chance to go out and enjoy good beer, child in tow.

Can't believe I have missed reviewing the Taphouse. My first time in here it was late on a Saturday and the place was dead, Evil Dead II was on the TV and I sat there enjoying several very good beers and an olive plate. Seriously what pub has Evil Dead II on...this one! They have a rotating tap of only the best beers across the country. Whenever my out of town friends who like good beer come into town and we always end up at the Taphouse.

Beer geeks often get very caught up in numbers. IBU's, ABV, Original Gravity, you know, fascinating stuff that men should talk to their ladies about on a first date. When it comes to beer bars most beer geeks are again obsessed with raw numbers like number of taps and bottles. For me, much like sports, it's the intangibles that really make a difference. Who cares how many great beers are on tap if the person serving them to you has all the charisma of a dirty Kleenex? Also, much more important than the number of taps is the quality of beer occupying those handles. This is why I opt to go someplace like Naked City before going to say, Brouwers. The service on all of my visits has always been very friendly and the offers of another beer come as soon as my glass has emptied. It's fairly spacious, nice and clean and has a friendly welcoming atmosphere. Here the old adage again proves true: it aint what ya got, it's how ya use it.

I finally tried this place out a couple of weeks ago, and from what I remember, it was quite fine. I don't drink a lot of beer anymore, but it seems that that is all they have in there. I had (I think?) three different kinds, all delicious. We also had some snax - the pretzels are huge and yummy, perfect for sharing, and I found the olive plate to be delightful. But then again, I do love olives. I don't really have a ton to say at this point, except that I just wanted to let you know that I certainly did NOT get drunk off of three beers, although they do serve strong ones here - this was stop #3 of a long day of Greenwood bar-hopping. So Nyah.

Had a drink here the other night with some friends. Very enjoyable atmosphere, and a great variety of beers. I'm not a beer connoisseur, so it was nice having a really awesome waitress that went through the list and helped us to pick out what she thought we would suit our individual tastes. Beer is also served in different glasses that compliment whatever type of ale it is. For those that like lots of hops, try the hoppsicle!!! The boys got kicked in the ass with its 10% alcohol content; I'm told it has a taste reminicsent of something sticky and green...just sayin. Negatives are no pitchers, and no sampler options. I think these are two musts for a good beer joint. Location is great, right on greenwood ave. Try it after some small plates at Gainsbourg, and then hit the Baranof after for some $2 jello shots.

I love beer. Naked City Brewery has lots of it. 'Twas a match made in heaven. Spent a rainy Sunday afternoon (and better part of the evening) here tasting several from their awesome selection. They even have a bunch of different ciders on tap, which was surprising. It was pretty busy, the bar was full the entire time. We snagged a table in the dining area. The food was decent, I had the mac and cheese and my friend had the black and blue burger. Nothing to really knock your socks off. The waitress really didn't seem to dig her job, I felt like we were bothering her right from the start. If I had to base my review solely on the food and service I would have given it three stars, but the cool vibe, great beer selection, and closeness to home (walking distance!) definitely bumps it up. I'll go back!

This place has a good selection of local beers, as well as some from smaller breweries from other states. This is probably the main reason to come here, if you like beer. They don't specialize in serving bud-light or major domestic beer, but seem to focus more on serving smaller breweries beer. They do serve food, and admittedly I have never ordered anything, but the menu is extremely limited. There is only a handful of things and it is items like 'olives' ... nothing that has ever tickled my fancy. What would be great is if they started serving some serious bar food as well as just good beer.

I was disappointed. I'm a huge beer-lover and they definitely scored big on beer-points, but the experience was still thoroughly "Meh", despite the beer. 1) The ambiance needs work and it's hard to figure out what to do when you get there. There's tables on one side (please seat yourself) and the bar-bar on the other, and a mystery in-between bar with a glass barrier between the bar and the tables that segregates the room. My friend and I sat at the mystery-bar because there were no tables and were not served nor approached, nor given menus or beer lists or guidance of any kind. 2) When we ventured off to score ourselves some menus, I walked up to the bar for help. The person waiting tables ignored me for a full 5 minutes while she casually chatted with someone at the bar, talking about how she's the general manager of the place and will have to be careful to not allow herself to work too hard. Sister, you have NOTHING to worry about! You ended up being our server when we finally moved to a table and you didn't even strain yourself for a single check-back. If you're really the general manager, the place is screwed. You were seriously passive-aggressive and straight-up rude. 3) My friend and I are both vegetarian and were thrilled to see multiple vegetarian options on the menu! Unfortunately, both of us were still hungry after our sandwiches. We split a dessert to try and fix that (dessert was good - get the "Apple Granny" if you go). 4) Music - Good choice in albums, but mix it! I love Jens Lekman, too, but playing whole albums from start to finish is too much commitment for a mixed crowd in a bar. I'm not heading back there anytime soon. There are fantastic beers to be had elsewhere in town without the frustration and work that came with this experience. I bet this place will get better with time, though. Get some booths in there and work on the lighting. Light the individual tables. Paint the walls a color. Decorate. Work on the portion size on the menu. The ideas were good, they just need a little more oomf!

My favorite bar in Seattle (in close competition with Uber). The beer selection is wonderful and always rotating, with a wide variety of styles and breweries. House beers range from drinkable to great, but they are always putting on new house beers and experimenting with styles, which I appreciate. Their taplist is handled well -- staff update the printed lists regularly and tap changes are listed online as they happen. The staff is a pleasure. The space is great since the expansion, less crowding then before (though I only go on weekdays - weekends are still insane). Food has steadily improved, it used to be a weak point when they first opened.

We had a really good experience at Naked City last night (even though we showed up just as happy hour was ending. Note to self happy hour runs 4-7, $1 off drafts which helps when your drafts range from $3-5.) We scored a table in front by the windows. As other reviewers have pointed out the decor is rather sparse, but what you are really going for is the selection of draft beers (24 on draft AND they handed out an updated draft sheet while we were there...they keep that list current!) They also have an extensive bottle list, but we stuck with the drafts. I ordered a Pike Monks Uncle to start and JP went with the Naked City Dubbel. Our server highly recommended the Uncle, and it was pretty tasty. My second selection was the Snipes Lazy Lightning, which wasn't nearly as good as the Uncle. JP went with a Hales Cream Stout. The menu is short, but they have a decent selection. I really like the fact that they had so many vegetarian choices available (not that I went that route, but nice nonetheless!) I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with a side of greens and JP had the German brat w/ soup (it was a salmon chowder which I thought was really oily). We also had a pretzel with salt. The pretzel itself was good, neither of us cared for the cheese/mustard/porter dipping sauce...I've had much better... besides it comes out some weird shade of beige. Not delish. It was pretty crowded since it was Friday, but service was fantastic. I liked the there were couples there enjoying a pint and food with their little ones in tow and rowdy after work crowds kicking back and having a good time. We would definitely stop here again if we are up in Greenwood...besides the people watching out the window can't be beat!

Everytime I go back, I get a better and better beer. Gotta love the in house Dubbel, the bottle list, pints o' pliny and the selection of not just the local brews but the BEST of the local brews.

This was the second time I came here and overall a good experience. Lots of beer choices and very knowledgeable staff to help explain what the different beers are. I went with the "Hopsickle" because our waitress told us it was like an extremely hopped up version of an IPA, they had the only keg of it in Washington State, and I have the ability to tell people that I tried the "Hopsickle" and they most likely didn't. I liked it but my friend who also ordered it didn't seem to like it as much. The place itself looked clean and modern, and I liked the art work on the walls in the back from local artists. I would not be offended if you offered to take me here to buy me a drink. Zipzap Zubidy Bop!

Ended a night on the town here at Naked City. They have a total of 24 taps here, and I went for a microbrew which was decent. It wasn't too packed, and we were able to grab a table with no problem. If you want a beer in Greenwood, this is a decent option.

This establishment has an outstanding selection of beers. 24 on tap, all micro or craft style. Something for every beer geek. The happy hour goes late, until 7pm. I washed down my "sliders" with several Naked City dubbels and one Russian Imperial stout. Inside the layout is quite sparse, with minimal ambiance. We found our heavily tattooed wait staff reasonably friendly and attentive. I will be back.

Since my boyfriend moved to Seattle from Bellingham he's lamented the lack of really laid back bars that have an excellent selection of beer. On a recent trip back to BHam he mentioned this to the bartender at his favorite old hang out, and the bartender mentioned 3 or 4 places he loved to go in Seattle, one of which was Naked City. We ended up heading there last night (hoping to avoid a crazy St. Paddy's crowd or shenanigans), and decided we had made the right choice. We got there around 9:30 & it was full but not crowded. We only waited about 10 minutes for a table, which isn't bad for a Saturday night. The beer was great (and there was definitely a good selection), but we were bummed the pickled hop shoots were out of season. Instead we had couple other appetizers, which were both decent. It wasn't too loud or rowdy and the wait staff were really friendly and attentive. It seemed like it was a good place for groups too, which is nice to know if we want go again with some friends. Not as laid back as we were maybe looking for, but pretty laid back for Seattle without being divey. Overall we were satisfied and would go back.

I am remiss for not reviewing Naked City on Yelp sooner. I ADORE THIS PLACE. Excellent beer selection, yummy food, super-friendly service and great laid-back atmosphere. My boyfriend and I only live a few blocks away from Naked City and have adopted it as our neighborhood bar. We go there about 2-3 times per month and always have a great experience. He's super into beer (used to work at a local beer store) and ranks Naked City as one of the top places in Seattle to get interesting American craft beer, primarily from the West coast. Good stuff on tap, including Naked City's own brews which made their debut in late 2009. The food is pretty yummy and the menu changes roughly 2-3 times per year, so they keep it fresh. I'm not a vegetarian but enjoy eating like one every now again. Naked City is a super veg-friendly establishment. Lots of options for homemade veggie burgers, hot dogs, BBQ sandwiches, etc. A recent add to the menu is the smoked salmon sandwich (piled high with smoked salmon, red onions, capers and dill cream cheese sandwiched in between two slices of rye bread), which is incredible. Only negative things I'll say about the food there: Too many of the sandwiches have the wrong bread : protein ratio and leave you eating far more bread than filling. The bread is good, but it's too much. The other downside is no french fries. Even if you normally order salads on the side when out, every once in a while you just want a salty pile of fries to go along with beer and sandwich. If Naked City added fries or tots to their menu, I think they'd be a HUGE hit. Bottom line: Check this place out! It is fantastic and the people there are what really make it - they are just so friendly, it's a fun vibe and you can tell the staff truly enjoy working there.

Naked City has made me truly understand the power of love and loss... and the stages of grief. I almost offered up my firstborn for a glass of their bing cherry beer once the supply had been exhausted. You can't ever go back to Naked City expecting the same delicious beer you once had, so if you find something you really like, drink up, savor the moment, and then, with a heavy heart, move on. Naked City also has some amazingly delicious food to compliment your love affair with their beer. I love the landjaeger and the cheese plate, the salads and sandwiches are wonderful, and their recent flirtation with field roast (vegetarian grain-"meat") has been surprisingly successful, and tasty! They have a great selection, with an emphasis on locally produced ingredients like Beechers and Field Roast, in addition to thei abundance of local beers on tap. Protip: Naked City is always packed after 6 PM. I've seen people circle around tables like vultures, I've even seen them clash together in fierce verbal battles about who had been waiting longest. The disputes are always settled gracefully in the Greenwood fashion, but get there early if you want to avoid the predation.

Okay so they don't get 5 stars due to the wait, but I did enjoy how the waitress handled the situation. I ordered two of there delicious rueben sandwhiches. It took 40 mins for them to get to me, hence the 4 star review, but the waitress saved it by apologizing and comping my meal. I have not had great service there in the past by I definitely will go back because of that one lady. I do not know here name, but I do know she has short blond hair with glasses. Awesome job lady!

I love this place. The Dons, the staff, the food, the beers and great conversations with total strangers. Naked City has it all. And soon, a lot more of their own stuff on tap. I look forward to that day! This past Sunday, Naked City hosted my wedding reception. And when I say reception, I mean "Friends and family enjoying beers and great company". MAD PROPS TO EVERYONE WORKING THAT NIGHT. You guys rocked my socks. Some folks have told me they're discouraged by the menu offered by the pub, but they've come a long way since their first options. Come back out and try it again! I especially love the Chicken Sandwich. Grilled Chicken with sun-dried tomatoes, goat cheese, greens and rosemary infusion. You can get it with chips or salad; I sometimes sub it out for the great soups. As far as the beers? Always an amazing selection. I follow Naked City on Twitter, so I get to see when they change taps and plan my growlers accordingly. If you like beer and a casual, clean and friendly environment, try Naked City Taphouse.

I decided to come back after a suggestion from one of the folks at MKG. After a nice workout last Saturday, we decided to walk down and have beer for lunch. After a few months to round out the edges, Naked City has found a convert. It's not hard when your beer selection is in the billions. Cheers for carrying Boundary Bay Scotch Ale! Some friends of mine who actually wanted sustenance for lunch ordered food. The sandwiches and sausages looked good. I would say a step above your standard pub sandwich fare. They also offer good quality deli meat spread such as prosciutto and landyeagre. Fancy shmancy!

Cool joint and a good variety of beers. You must know your taste at a place like this. I am a lambic beer girl. The bartenders were very nice and attentive. We were lucky to meet the new owner of the pub and his wife. He was very cool and he knows his beers! We had a huge group that met up here and they were able to handle us without any problems! Kudos!

I've wrestled with idea of my rating for this establishment for a solid week now...although, not entirely soaking up every minute, because well, I've got other things to deliberate on. However, it has been fermenting like some of their beers in large vats I assure you. The final product you ask? 3 stars. At first when I saw all the different beers on tap (while walking by), I was excited. Alas, the place has opened! I called up a friend and we met there. It got better, there were a boat load of beers in the bottle, too. Then I was told, and asked, "It's $5, or do you want to run a tab?". Ah, the Five Buck Beer went swirling through my cerebral cortex. That sucks, I thought. So essentially, it's 6 with tip. It's hard to swallow coughing up that much for a single beer when I can get nearly a six pack for the same amount; Or, looking at it as that 6 pack at Safeway around the corner for $7.99 will cost about 54 bucks when all is said and done. That's just absurd. Yeah, I know you pay for the ambiance and what have you, but still.... I wanted to give it 4 stars because of the customer service. The girls were nice, and they let you try the beer before buying it. However, I came to the conclusion that it wasn't enough to give a higher rating, my expences come first. The Menu was lack luster to say the least. $4.50 for a frickin pretzel!? What was more outrageous was that I actually bought one!!! Yeah, I don't care how you cut it, alcohol impairs judgement, even two of them! :) They also had some pickle of sorts that while sounding interesting, wasn't THAT interesting for the price, nor to go with a frothy head of beer, or any kind of head for that matter. All in all, I like the Pig and Whistle better down the road, same side as Naked City, just past 85th. The beers are cheaper, same diversity, and like the first post on here mentioned, they DO have the PBR available, aka the Two Dollar Holler. And to boot, it's an Blue Ribbor Award winning beer, it's true, just look on the can, it tells you! ;-) Happy Drinking you fellow Beer Connoisseur's.

Naked City is everything the Dons promised it would be and more and I couldn't happier for them. Their beer menu is superb, their beer knowledge is unrivaled and their menu is improving daily. It doesn't hurt that Donald has great taste in music, so expect to some great local bands and a general mish mash of KEXP's playlist. In the months to come they'll be brewing their own amazing beers on site and there's plenty of room for live music. I couldn't cheer louder for this place. Go have a pint or two and tell them Ethan told you to say hi.

I like beer... and so I can appreciate a bar with an extensive collection and knowledgeable staff... but I've got a laundry-list of problems with this place: No servers... I know, it seems small, but going up to the bar each time I want a beer I'm paying premium prices for is irritating... and having to flag a server when at the bar on a slow night is really frustrating Limited menu... I've been told that the menu was just extended, which makes this even worse... I just want some good ol' pub grub to go with my tasty beers... and I don't want to just sit around and eat bread, I want some real food. Portions... For the crazy costs of the food ($8 for THREE sub-safeway-quality chicken strips and some potato chips!) I expected at least reasonable portions. The cheesy mustard sauce gets my props, but I need more than that. Fix these problems (and fast as businesses on that block come and go with ease) and we may have a great little brewery on our hands.

A very good selection of local and West coast beers, and very friendly staff. The bartender and owner both were very cordial, and recommended some excellent brews to try. Yes, the menu needs a lot of work, but we were assured that there's a lot of food being added soon, so we'll be back to try them again in the near future.

Yummm. That's what I remember from the Chocolate Port that I ordered. My boyfriend and I tried this place out last night for the first time. They didn't have regular mixed drinks, so I went with a Port and it was really great. It tasted like strong alcohol, but went down smooth and ended with Chocolate. The mariners game was on and we hung around just to see us come up with 2 runs and win it in the 11th! So much fun. Also...any place that plays Okkervil River is somewhere I am going to be!

I'm a fan of Naked City. While it's not exactly next door to my neighborhood, it's a chill spot to grab a beer and tasty land jager (aka beef jerky, yum). Went there last weekend after a visit to Antika and will be back.

If you're looking for local brews in the Greenwood area, this is where you should come. They have about 25 (nearly all) NW beers on tap and pretty good explanations about each of them on the menu. The beers on tap change regularly. I've had the soup of the day, which was tasty, but the vegetarian sandwich left a lot to be desired. Very high quality bread, but the sandwich was 80% bread and not enough goodies between the slices. Anyway, it's a clean friendly vibe, so you should check it out if you're into beer.

This place rocks! We went in on a very busy Saturday night and only one table was available . I told my wife we would be lucky to get any service at all and we were pleasantly surprised when the waitress showed up with in a minute to take our order. She was patient and knowledgable in explaining the beer choices and her timing was perfect. Best selection around for beer choices. Food is good but not fantastic. The disinfectant smell others are writing about is probably due to the fact that they are, or have started to, brew on site. The building needed to be sanitized first. Reviews about dining section and bar selection; give me a break. Any decent restaurant wants to bring in as many people as possible and a family section is perfect. Look, the people with children come before 8:00, have a couple of beers and throw a few preztels at their kids and leave a nice tip because they appreciate having a place to go. By 9:00 the families are all gone and it continues to be a great bar hang out. This is one of the few places in Seattle that recently increased their staff. They must be doing something right. oh yea, good music at the right volume. Fantastic service. Thanks for coming to Greenwood. We plan on eating there often.

I too love this place. It's like a beer festival every week with selections that you won't find at other pubs. The fact that they rotate the taps so frequently is great. I get to try micro beers from all over the place and I never have the same thing twice. I have to agree with the owner's choice to have people order at the bar. I prefer it that way. It puts ordering in my own hands, and I don't have to look out for a server who may or may not come because they are serving other customers. It's the same way I feel about self-serve gas when I go to Oregon. I hate to wait for someone to pump my gas when I am perfectly capable of doing it myself. Besides, most pubs around the world operate the same way. You go to the bar to order.

Just visited this brand new place for beer. They have nice selections and the place is nice and open. Friendly staff. I'd like more snack, munches in the future though. We'll go there again and see how they are. Parking situation is not so great... Greenwood is kind a interesting place to be.

I'm on the border between three and four with them. The beer list at Naked City is amazing. The best that I've been to here in Seattle for micro brews and right there with Brouwer's for tops overall. They're quality beers, very tasty, and they keep a good variety rotating through. The service is great. Kind, courteous, and quick - I've never had a problem. But the food? Not so good. The menu is pretty limited. I've had a couple of sandwiches there and they're mediocre at best. The cold plates are fine, things like the olives and the pickled hop shoots, and they go great with the beer. It's fine for something to munch on with a beer, but stay away for dinner or lunch. As a side note, the desserts are tasty as well - I'm not sure where they get them, but I'm guessing they don't make them in house. Finally, it doesn't really have a very good pub feel to it. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like the big, white wall with random art. It's not terrible, but it's not good either. Other than that, the atmosphere is fine. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends, so don't expect to find a table if you're coming in late.

As noted by others, Naked City has an amazing selection of craft brews, both their own and from other good regional breweries. Their Sitting Room Red, which is an Indian Red, is amazing. Selection from other breweries rotates frequently. In the summer, they have a big patio outside which is lovely to sit on and drink a few, plus there are some excellent drunk walruses painted on the walls for your entertainment. Food is very good too. I've had their house salad, which includes a LOT of delicious goat cheese and other goodies, and is amazing. Their burgers are made from wagyu beef and are great. Hand cut fries are really good, though somewhat under-cooked occasionally. Not a fan of the chislic (fried cubes of beef), too tough. The reason they get 3 instead of 4 stars from me is because of their "extra" room, which they call the screening room. This is the room next to the main one with the bar. They project a film on a wall in the back and the room is filled with large tables and a few couches. The absurd thing is that they charge you a $5 fee to sit in this room. This is not advertised or posted anywhere as far as I can tell, it just shows up on your bill. You're not getting any added service or anything other than a strange foreign film being projected silently behind you, so I have no idea how management justifies this. Next time I go and there's no room in the bar area, I will not be staying, no matter how good the beer is.

Naked City is a great place to meet a group of friends. I enjoy sitting outside during the summer and also appreciate having an area that is not right on the street, but rather enclosed with picnic tables. The last time I went here is for Marc M.'s UYE Bar Crawl in Greenwood. If sitting outside isn't your thing, not to worry, there are plenty of places to sit inside. The selection of beer is good. That particular night, I didn't feel like beer but had cider instead. Cold and refreshing. I've had food there before but recently, I didn't order much as I was popping in on stop 3 of 4 of the crawl and wasn't very hungry. I did have a pretzel, which I think was a bit pricey for $4 due to the size (smaller than what I've come to expect from pretzels). It was also a bit hard for my liking. The stone ground mustard that went with the pretzel had nice flavor. Like some other reviewers, I haven't been impressed by the food and just about everything I've had has been forgettable. Living in North Seattle and working downtown, I often spend most of my happy hours and social drinking time downtown. Naked City is a nice neighborhood spot that offers the type of relaxed vibe that I'm looking for.

Second time in to Naked City and I will be back and bring friends! I came in with my coworker on Sat night. It was busy but thankfully two seats open at the bar for us. Our bartender was awesome! He had great suggestions for my friend who is only a vodka drinker. I got the burger and a triple IPA. The burger was AMAZING! It was a little pink (not to my liking) but the bartender was so gracious and nice when it came to cooking it a little more. Thank you for your wonderful service and a pleasant evening!! I can't wait to come back!

My kind of place. I'm a simple person. I love craft beer and good food, and have a family. Craft beer, like food and travel, is a great way to explore, try out new things, taste and sample the new and different. For previous generations, exploration and parenting did not go hand in hand. I can't imagine my parents ever going to a craft brewhouse, let alone taking a kid in there. We didn't travel then either really, just got stuck on long car trips to visit grandma. Now, we visit grandma (of coarse!) AND plan family trips to Barcelona. Thank goodness things have changed! Here's the thing. We didn't want to stop traveling, stop loving cities, or craft beer, didn't want to stop being ourselves. Parenting is a tough enough job to adjust to, without giving up the things you love. Life is more fun with a sense of adventure. Naked City Taphouse has an extensive selection of beer, basic and tasty salads and solid burgers (good medium rare) and fries. It's exceedingly family friendly. Its got the balance right. There is an outdoor beer garden with picnic tables and original handpainted murals, and indoor seating, alongside a mirrored bar and extensive bar seating. It's deceptively large inside, but looks pretty unassuming from the street. Food is good, solid, not great, mostly salads, sandwiches, but they make a reliable medium rare burger w/handcut fries (or a good mixed greens salad, light on the acid) always on my checklist. Some things are inconsistent. Service and the kitchen can be somewhat chaotic --some nights we've waited longer than we should, and once my burger was overdone. In that later case, the server recommended sending the burger back, so kudos for supporting me as a customer in that case! Naked City has got the basics covered, meanwhile there are friends, families, kids in high chairs eating from a standard kids menu. You'll find a lots of fun loving adults enjoying good microbrewed beer and enjoying being parents. It's a relief, and a lot of fun, not to take yourself too seriously.

I recently went to Naked City and for the first time in my life I did not leave a tip. When we first sat down the service was great, they were attentive and checked to see if we were all ready to order a couple of times. The four of us each ordered a drink, and I ordered food. Our beers came 15 minutes later and my food came almost 45 minutes later, which I felt was far too long. After we got our food, no one came back to check on us. Not a single server. I understand we can go up to the bar and grab beers, but I had an issue with my food and it didn't seem all that busy. My sandwich was supposed to come with avocado on it and it clearly did not. I paid for that avocado and I wanted it, and I didn't get it! We all wanted more beer too and decided to sit there with empty glasses to see if anyone would check on us, and guess what? No one did. None of us left a tip because not a single server deserved one. The only reason this place gets a star from me is because the food was decent and the beer was delicious. But bad service will deter me from coming here again.

Naked city; sure you aren't going to find anyone actually naked here, but you will have great tasting beers, and great food to go with, combined a great layout, this place rocks. How does it rock you might say? Because it does, because the servers always know what tastes good, because the food there has great tastes, because on a summer day the walrus (outdoor section) is great for groups, because the inside bar has drinks that are stiff and delicious, because... well because! It's in Greenwood, a great neighborhood that I grew up in, and sometimes where I find myself, if I need a drink, yes sir and ma'am... this is the stuff that makes your drinking days and nights work... this isn't a dive, it's not ultra classy; it's a great causal place to have good drinks at very reasonable dollars. They have a rotating list of beers, and it's always delicious... oh yeah, it's delicious. I mean what do you want, oh yeah fine, food, let's do food... Burgers... Check; Fries...Check...; Street Soccer Tournaments.. Check; charity drinking days... check... WAIT... a drinking hole, with great food, beers and gives back to the community? I recommend you come here STAT.. and be one with the amazing glasses of liquid amazing. P.S.. Kid friendly too!

Checking the place out for Twenty-Nina's bday, I'd have to say this was a good time. Their Dick's x 2 fries were awesome and great beer. Our waitress was great for a typical busy night, I'm sure. The movie setup looks totally chill, as well. Yelper Alisa B works here & makes uh-MAZE-zing desserts(!).

My feelings on the food and beer are still that they are top notch. Service is impeccable too. They're doing a fine job. But I just can't bring myself to be motivated to come here anymore. Every time I come in, the place is loaded with kids. Kind of tough to enjoy the whole brewpub/beer bar experience when there are 1 to 2 infants and toddlers crying and screaming from the time I walk in to the time I leave. My most recent visit, every single table in the dining room had at least two small children. Just not the type of atmosphere I prefer when seeking out craft brews. But it seems to be working for them, so live and let live, eh?

I haven't had a chance to try the food here yet, but this is a very low-key place in Greenwood to enjoy a beer on a summer night. They have a large outdoor space with several picnic tables where you can lazily sit around with a few pints of amazing, reasonably priced craft beer.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere, and best off all great beer menu! This was our first experience visiting NCBT and we went on Sunday during lunch. It wasn't very packed when we first got there but they had a steady turn over and were packed by the time we left. Me and my boyfriend like to linger at bars and munch on the menu. He loves to try new bears and was raving about all the different ones he had. He tried about 6 of them, but unfortunately every cider I asked for was just tapped out so I didn't get to try anything (I'm a wine & cider girl) We both had the 1/2 sandwich and soup lunch special which was about $10 and was well worth it. The Rubens were piled up 4' high solid with meat and the soup of the day was some kinda pot-roast-y beef that was DELICIOUS! Then we tried the Landjäger ( semi-dried sausage traditionally made in Southern Germany ) and it was sooooo incredible. It was the best thing we ate imo and only $3. If you like pepperoni or assuage then get it! Then we tried a basket of fries, it is literally a basket of fries - more then you can fit in your girlfriend's purse - HUGE! Way more then $5 worth so try it! They were delicious, not too salty, nice special sauce that came with it. Then I made the mistake of going to the bathroom after trying a few and came back to an empty basket that mysteriously disappeared.... Their bathroom was immaculate too, all new toilets and spotless, spacious stalls. I have to mention the pretzels. We got a fresh batch right out of the over and they were WONDERFUL - steaming in the middle! They have their own ground mustard and oh, my, gosh, it was heaven on earth! You have to try them! The only thing I missed out on was the red room with the couch / lounge seating. it wasn't open and i asked our waiter about it and he said it wouldn't open till 7pm *sadface* Their normal chairs were not uncomfortable but lacked the padding for an extended lounge around trip. All in all, even with some hiccups, our server was attentive, beer variety was insane, the food was delicious and worth every penny, clean bathrooms, and great pub atmosphere (you can even take a peek at the brewery in the back!). After Sunday all day happy hour and some specials our server put on for us that went with some lunch specials we saved over $20 easy! All together 5/5 - We have found our new go-to late night pub for sure. We'll be back again soon - I'll keep you posted :)

Do not order meat products from a vegan place. Service was great, unless you're not completely satisfied. If you order the French Dip be prepared for something that looks like a baked potato from another planet with meat that orbits the colors of the universe....and the salad is predrenched in dressing.

first off, i wouldve given 5 stars but the service needed a bit more help. but, having said that, it was still a good experience. my brother in law and sister in law live right up the street so this was super convenient. i got the burger and fries, which were pretty delicious. the burger was cooked just right and i had them put bleu cheese on it. the fries were off the hook! we sat outside on a beautiful Seattle day. if you havent been by this spot, check out the outside patio- the artwork is awesome. the next time i get up to Seattle, i'm giving this place another try.

Major changes... for the better... has happened to Naked City since I've last been there (see previous review). First, I noticed they have expanded into the adjacent space and doubled their floorspace. With the high ceilings and the wide spacing between tables you feel real comfortable and can lounge there and just relax. The second room is very cozy with a few couches and a projection movie screen showing closed caption TCM classic movies. I even noticed a guy at the bar checking Facebook and watching an NBA game on his IPad; appears they have WIFI too. Next thing, the menu has expanded to more non-vegetarian entrees with burgers, landjagers + mustard, brisket and fried french fries. There's a genius simplicity to the entrees where less is more that is something I really like about Naked City. I had the reuben + salad that was just perfect blend of the ingredients. A tip is get the horseradish sauce on the side and apply to the reuben to give it some bite; yummy. And of course, Naked City has a great beer selection that covers all the bases without being too extensive where you can't make a decision. They are constantly rotating the beers and have a list of what beers are coming next; that's classic PNW. Naked City is family friendly and I always see a number of tables with parents and accompanying children. It's a nice atmosphere where you see a good combination of people having a good time, good beer and good food. The service was prompt, quick and efficient; when your drinks or food is ready it's served to you promptly by what server is available; I like that. I have to extend complements to the owners of Naked City for making a great place even better.

Good service and decent food, but my experience was just ok. First, we go in at 6pm on a Friday and they are out of their signature appetizer, the Chislic, which I had never had and was looking forward to. Really? Their fries looked great on everyone else's table and probably are usually, but ours were waaaay overlooked. Should've sent them back but oh well. I ordered the Caesar and my wife said it was great, but it was topped with actual anchovies which I can't stomach. So beware if you're like me. They have a soft pretzel appetizer which was fantastic, until I got to the middle where the dough was raw. Yyyyuck. The burgers were good, thankfully, because that is just about the only thing on the menu, entree wise. You would think a place with an eclectic variety of appetizers and salads would have more than a couple of burgers and sandwiches as their entire entree menu. It was good but honestly, if I feel like a burger there are other places I'd go, especially at 14.95 a pop.

Everything about this place is great--food (especially the beet burger, and I'm not a vegetarian), beer, service. I'd give them 5 stars, but for some reason they don't even allow dogs in their outdoor beer garden. Which is the only reason I don't go here most times I want a beer. Tim's Tavern is dog friendly and closer to me, but they are different experiences and I wish I could bring my dog here too.

In order of importance: 1. April's head is TOTALLY normal sized - and she's really, really funny. Not as funny as me, but almost. 2. April and Nicki are not the same person, nor should their names be mixed up. I'm sorry - there's a good chance I was drinking... 3. The new menu has two exceptional additions - The gumbo, which doesn't actually qualify as gumbo I don't think, but it's a delicious combination of mashed potatos, sausage, chicken, and spicy and yummy peppers all co-existing nicely in a big ol' bowl - and the Spicy Chicken sandwich which is probably delicious the way they serve it with Rogue Creamery bleu cheese but since I dislike bleu cheese I get it with gouda and it is AWESOME. They, however, will no longer allow me to sub mashed potatos for chips, thereby forcing me to get both the sandwich and the gumbo any time I'm eating there. Tricksy. 4. They now show certain games and movies on the big screen projector in the expansion room, where I actually haven't sat yet... Probably because it would mean less verbal abuse and condescending pats from the aforementioned duo. I'm excited to watch the Seahawks lose on said projector, however...... what? 5. Took me damn near five months but I finally bought a growler now that I know I can fill it up on weekends for nine bucks. Oy vey. Yeah, I don't know what else to add right now... Can't wait for them to expand the kitchen and have a full menu. Then maybe I'll go 6 days a week instead of 4...

No matter the beer, the food, or my experiences in the future - Naked City Brewery & Taphouse will hold a special place in my heart. After (in my eyes) a successful election, we walked down to grab a beer and watch a concession speech, followed by the 44th President's victory speech. Everyone in the room (which seemed like the whole neighborhood), including the bartenders, were jubilant, friendly and warm. The bartenders here do seem like awesome people. Attentive, friendly, and fun to chat with. Sitting at the bar, which is expansive, I was awed at all that they had on tap in addition to their own brews. A bottle of duchesse was ordered for me by my friend, so I didn't get to take a look at the other beers available, but I'm eager to come back and explore. A great local place to spend an amazing election night in Washington state!

A friend and I picked this place at random through Yelp and really liked it. They've got a great selection of beers on tap and change them almost daily. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I had the artichoke sandwich and loved it! I don't usually go for the vegetarian choice first but was tempted because I love artichokes. It was served on toasted sourdough bread with goat cheese and arugula. It was probably one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while. We will definitely be back.

We actually ate in an outdoor dining area that my kids called "The Walrus," although it was clearly served and staffed from Naked City. Good menu with multiple vegetarian options. HUGE portions, which is not a plus to me -- but I am sure many people like it. Great variety of beer. Unbelievably accommodating service -- did not have milk for my granddaughter and said they should have, so they sent someone out to the store to get some. When they sent salad instead of fries with an order by mistake, they said to keep the salad and they comped the fries. Definitely a positive experience. Will very likely go back when we are back visiting family in area.

Pretty darn tasty. On a rare day home from work for the both of us, we ventured here (I say that like it's far..no, we live less than 5mins from here) for lunch. I've been on a pub grub craving lately and this was perfect. We had a burger (with fried egg request, of course) and the pulled pork sandwich with sides of fries to match (you could also get salad as side). The brew was tasty and super local. :) Food arrived in quick time and portions are huge. We asked for truffle salt on our fries and tasted the upgrade. You could easily share 1 side of fries with 2 people. We will probably do that next time. The sandwiches were yummy and flavorful. Everything was really good. The server came by often to check and give us water refills. When we were ready to check out, I lamented that I was too full to have their pumpkin beer. The hub asked if I could have a taster of it and it was no big..plus they didn't charge us! Add that with using the Chinook Book coupon (straight up BOGO), and everything was coming up Milhouse. I have no qualms about coming back here without a coupon. I've been here before to have some hard cider and pretzels w/ dipping sauce. It's a pretty flexible spot for a snack, lunch, dinner, happy hour, etc. I am so lucky to live very close to Naked City. :)

I rarely order a vegetarian item but I decided to try the mushroom sandwich at Naked City yesterday. Simply put, outstanding. Grilled mushrooms, toasty multi grain bread and delicious jus to dip. French fries were also great. Had a crossfire IPA to wash it down. It too, was great. Thanks for great grub naked city.

Naked City is one of my favorite places to grab a beer or two. They always have an amazing rotating selection of taps and I can find several beers that look tempting, no problem. They show old movies in the side room which is a great touch. For their beer they get 5 stars. I'd give them 3 stars for their food. I have always thought the food was on the better side of okay or maybe even pretty good in some cases but I've decided it's just okay. They change their menu so much it's hard to find something you like and count on it to be there next time. I used to get the hot pretzel and really enjoy it. This last weekend I ordered the pretzel and they changed the recipe to a spelt flour pretzel. I wasn't a fan. It was so doughy and just not that appealing to me. I wish they noted this on the menu so it wasn't a surprise. All in all, not a bad place to grab dinner but I definitely look at the food as a side-note to the wonderful selection of beer. I'll be back again and again for the beer. After all, it is a taphouse so that's what counts!

I walked by Naked City a few times. I didn't know it was a brewery until I walked in one day. (I thought it was a coffee shop) I am glad it's not like the dive bar across street because there's a real door in the bathroom :-P I am really not a beer drinker. However, the bartender lady was able to help me out with my first time there. I had their home-brewed beer called Simplicity. It's light! And, I like it light. If you are not a beer drinker like me, I totally recommend you to sit by the bar that you are able to talk to the bartender for suggestions. It's a very laid-back bar. You see people alone, in pairs, or in groups. It's very relaxing! Food was good as well. I had a portobello appetizer and enjoyed it. The portion was just right.

Standard Brew House food and feeling in the inside. But a fantastic beer list that ventures outside of just their own beers. And they have the big patio there now. Also, bartender chic was fantastic and cool. Educated about all the beers, lets you sample, and she patient.

BEERS, beers, beers and beers. The selection is endless and pretty fun to choose at random. But my props go out the amazing food menu full of lighter appetizers and some full on vegetarian/vegan food fare going on here. Go for the roasted balsamic cauliflower with marinated onions, asparagus, and red quinoa. Super hearty and heavy! Go splurge on a tasty couple of rounds of beer without having the guilt of woofing it down with stale pretzels. Best pub with bonus of nice bathrooms (for the ladies).

First they gave us the wrong order, then told us that they only JUST put ours in so that definitely was not our food... it seemed to take forever for the food to come! At one point the waitress asked if we wanted another round, "Yes!", and her response was, "You're good for now? Great." and walked away... I guess she told us!

Surprised that I haven't reviewed this one yet! Naked City Brewery is a little gem of a brewpub to grab a beer and kick back. With a vast selection of their own brews, as well as a number of guest taps available, they're guaranteed to have something for any beer lover on the menu. The ambience and décor is clean, classy, and laid back, but far from pretentious. They have an outdoor section with plenty of tables and seating to enjoy a nice spring/summer day or evening on as well! (And who would say no to that?) Sadly, I have yet to try any food here, but I will make sure to change that next time I'm back. Overall, this place not only makes some tasty beer, it's just a great neighborhood hangout spot as well. Stop on in!

Executive Summary - Great beer, good food, relaxed vibe, friendly service and wifi. I had a cheeseburger and fries which was wonderful, and a pineapple hefe guest beer which was very well balanced between the pineapple, wheat, and floral hops. Very refreshing. Dessert was the chocolate hazelnut truffles - oh my God. They have wifi too, which helped a lot because I was traveling and checking email and such. I'll be back next time I'm in town, it was a no stress place with a lot of options for food and drink, and not at all pretentious.

Greenwood is my hood, and Naked City is my pack. I'm sawwry! If the Jesus of Yelp or Morgan Freeman type, knew how much I frequent here, I think I'd be struck by a baby grand for not giving proper dues. For a 'taphouse' it's really chill, none of the snootyness. For a 'brewery', the douche/hipster/bro is kept tightly under wraps as opposed to Brouwer's. This is where the cool kids hang out. They recently opened up a large patio space with picnic tables complete with parasols for summa-summa-taaaime! Naked City is so boss with their beer list, it fills up a 8 1/2"x 11" sheet with 24 beers on tap with 4-5 cider options too. I recommend their Saisons, it's a bit fruity, but it goes down easy, and sure tasty. The servers are so sweet, and sometimes you just don't want to commit to the entire glass of said '_____ ale/IPA/cider' and will let you sample a mini glass and give honest recommendations and feedback on beers you're thinking about trying. It's like having a cool sister or brother work there. About a month ago, I was being a spazz, and my Mickey Mouse jazz hands knocked my beer over on myself, and our server kindly filled my glass again. What a saint! When I drink, I also must eat. Their Naked Burger is solid, and their fries are thicker and rustic, and tossed in truffle salt, which makes them so easy to devour. Their field roast burger, fake meat, is surprisingly satisfying and I'm a big ol' meat eater. I just had their portobello sandwich, which is on a vegan focaccia. I enjoyed it, but next time will ask for it open faced since the bread is like, eczema dry, and super thick, like Texas toast. Check on the website for "coming soons" for beer and the last Sunday of each month they show a "silenced film" with a DJ so be forewarned it can bring a crowd if you just wanted a quiet night with a beer.

If your reading through these reviews trying to decide if you should try this place out, your wasting your time because, YOU COULD BE THERE ALREADY! Not only can these guys brew some wicked beer, they have the food to back it up. This place is amazing!

I love Naked City! Beer, cider, many types, constantly changing. Food, it's so excellent. They have stuff for vegans, vegetarians, and stuff for meaters. Plus it's chill, and the bartenders and bartendresses are nice.

You know when you're in a 'bad place"? Even for an evening, day or...maybe an extended period of your life? So you choose to leave the house anyways and you're like "I got this" and then you realize you've lost the battle before you even unbuckle your seatbelt to exit your car? I've been having the extended period of my life version and it's been shitty. Grandmaster Flex knows: "Don't push me cause I'm close to the edge I'm trying not to lose my head, ah huh-huh-huh Say what? It's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder How I keep from going under It's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder How I keep from going under" Enter Naked City. I don't remember... all of this night. :/ (I met Tom B so a strong 4 stars it is!) then it gets a little dark... "Bein' used and abused to serve like hell Til one day, you was found hung dead in the cell It was plain to see that your life was lost You was cold and your body swung back and forth But now your eyes sing the sad, sad song Of how you lived so fast and died so young It's like a jungle sometimes It makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under"

Naked City is an intresting mix of brewery and film noir.I would of thought the combo of wine instead of beer would be more appropriate and you can probably get wine here anyway. It is most cool that they picked one of the most famous of all film noir for their name. Very cool! However unlike those smoky, atmospheric bars you see in such films Naked City is a lot less grittier. No smoke and a decent atmosphere. The decor is definitely "film noir light". They have some posters here and there that indicate what they are representing but that is about it. What earns Naked City some serious points is that they have a small screening room where you can watch movies. When we were there they certainly were not playing film noir films. Whatever they were playing was bright, lavish and cheerful. We did not get anything to eat here so I cannot really comment on that. We did get several kinds of Naked City's own beer which was real good! I definitely recommend any pale ales, wheat beers or hefes that they put out! They have lots of guest beers on tap and that only makes the decisions even more daunting on what to drink. Regardless Naked City is a cool little neighborhood brewery that is worth a look! "There are eight million stories in the naked city. This has been one of them."

First off, our server gets 4 stars because she was prompt and on the ball with everything. Very nice, and professional. However, the food was sub-par. I ordered the pulled pork with a salad, and a cup of soup. EVERYTHING came out lukewarm. It was very off-putting. The pulled pork was on the dry side, so I ordered extra BBQ sauce which helped. I will say that the salad was good. But overall, I won't be back unless it's just for a quick drink.

They have a great selection of beer on tap and the good is decent pub fare. I used to count on the pretzel that came with amazing cheese sauce. They have yanked that off the menu though. As a result the selection of appz to have with a pint takes a serious hit. Might have been 4 star worthy with the cheese, now I feel they're just average across the board ... Best thing is the beer selection.

All I kept saying to my "Mr." was "why have we not been coming here all summer?" The new outdoor Walrus room was a perfect place to park my glowing (ok sweaty) self in the fabulous Seattle heat last night. It's a huge patio with several large picnic tables, many shared by strangers. The space was surprisingly quiet and peaceful for being right on Greenwood Ave. The only sounds you hear are the slurping of delicious micro brews, friendly chatter amongst the patrons, and the clanking of washers being thrown in a fun game in the back. The menu is unique for a brew pub and will satisfy everyone. They offer many vegan and GF options and have a kids menu as well. Did I say kids? Yes. But, a polite sign posted asks that kids do not run around and the parents in the crowd there seemed very respectful of that. Back to the food......you must try the fried olives as a starter. For dinner, I had a beet burger with blue cheese crumbles. It sounds a little off-beet (ha) but it was fantastic. The truffle fries are a delicious, not-too-salty side that made the meal perfect. All of the burgers, sandwiches, and entrees looked super yummy! I must come back to try more. The beer was great and cold. The service was friendly. The wait was zero. I left with a big smile. :)

The hubby and I came in here to try out their beer and maybe grab a snack for dinner. We tried their Hoptrocity Rye IPA and were quite pleased with it. We had been snacking all day so the hubby and I decided to split an appetizer and an entree for our meals. We started with the Chislic. Who knew cubes of meat could be so delicious? For $5 this appetizer could easily be a meal on it's own. If I ever make my way back here again, I can say for certain I will get this. We shared The Don for dinner. This pulled pork sandwich wasn't dripping in sauces for once. It was quite refreshing actually. The coleslaw on the sandwich was decent and the bread was quite good. The service here was attentive and we quite enjoyed our meal. Definitely a spot I'd recommend if you're looking to mix some beers with delicious food.

I learned of this place when invited by a long time friend for his annual Toys for Tots drive at Christmastime in 2013. Since then, my hubby and I have come back a few times (we live in Renton) because we really like it and when we're in the area, it's a natural draw for us. The food is great, and I'm really excited to see that they have really interesting vegetarian items (many!) on the menu. Definitely considering having a client event here in the big room adjacent to the main bar/dining area on one of their less busy days.

One of my favorite "go-to" places in greenwood. Food is consistently good, and the beer selection is amazing. They are awesome at accommodating my wife who has a dairy allergy as well. As far as places to grab a burger and a beer, this place is top notch!

This place has very much come into its own through the years. It started out as an amazing spot to get Washington beers, and has steadily added more and more to what it offers: they've been brewing their own beer for a couple years now, they've doubled their seating capacity, and they have expanded their kitchen--and menu along with it. First and foremost, this is a brewpub and beer bar. Don has a huge lineup of year-round house beers, seasonals, specials, and one-offs. If you come in here a couple times a week for a year, you can easily try over a hundred different beers just from NCBC alone. Their kegs show up at other local spots, too. Don makes virtually every style of beer, from old world lager and ale styles through all the big brawny american ales, even throwing in a wide variety of belgian-inspired beers. Add to that, though, the fact that he has never wavered in his support of Washington brewers, and it really is a bit of a beer geek's haven. Before they brewed their own, virtually every handle was always pouring a beer from a WA brewery, often a small, far-flung brewery that didn't get much attention from other Seattle establishments. To this day, NCBC pours their own beer from a mere five of their faucets, usually, leaving 20+ handles for other breweries. That's very generous of them, when they could be selling their own kegs more quickly. Right from the beginning, they have always hired cool, funny people to staff the place. There have been plenty of times when they are understaffed, to be sure. But the service is almost always engaging and can often be great. It helps to know that you can always get your own water and that the movie room is often self-serve/order at the counter. The kitchen started out a couple years ago at a pretty lackluster pace. They have steadily improved, adding great gumbo, good sandwiches, awesome desserts, and now offer essentially a full lineup of elevated pub grub. The prices are in line with what you pay at most pubs in town. What makes NCBC somewhat unique is the devotion to the cinema theme throughout. Beer names (even the brewery name), decorations, and especially the big screening room on the south side of the bar all reflect the head brewer's passion for film. They routinely book movie nights on the big screen in the second room, where there are couches and overstuffed chairs along with regular table seating. The programming for movie nights often includes DJ accompaniment or some other twist, and the repertory is generally early film classics and other underappreciated highlights of the art. The TVs over the bar are almost always tuned to AMC with captioning turned on. Watching Pygmalion captioned one night last summer at NCBC is one of my happiest auto-correct memories of all time ("...you're a duchess now. You're going to have to learn how to shave like a duchess!"). This place weaves itself into the fabric of the community in so many ways, with room for all-ages seating, much support for their fellow businesses, festivals, and events, entertainment, and simply being a welcoming place to bend an elbow and strap on the feed bag. It was hotly anticipated when it opened--the grand opening bash was a packed, sweaty jamboree--and it has earned its place on the promenade in every way ever since.

Food great, beer greater, service...meh.. Had the blasted Brussels (sprouts with bacon and cranberries) to start. The NCC chop salad which had the perfect amount of spice and creamy dressing. The Naked burger with bacon was big and the fries were great. Tried a couple of beers from naked city and was very impressed. My Fiance tried some draft cider and really liked it. The server was in such a rush we had to go get ourselves water from the bar. She would throw stuff down before we could even get her attention. It took he so long to come check on our food that we were already done. (Although it was all great so no real harm done) Like I said, the food and beer was great. The service just left a bad after taste.

We both had the Naked Burgers. The Wagyu beef was great. I had a couple of the Crossfire IPAs which were excellent. Minimal aftertaste and high hop flavor. Only concern is the wait. But they are packed on Friday night, so no real surprise. Plan for the time and enjoy the brew. We felt we were lucky to get a seat. We'll be back!

If all you want is a place to have a good craft beer, this is definitely a 4 star beer hall. They brew some damn fine beers of their own, including a great Cascadian Dark Ale called Black Maria. They also have an extensive selection of rotating guest taps, featuring some of the best craft beers in America. I don't get where some of the complaints about the service come from. Granted, it's a large and busy space, so the staff seldom has the time to chit-chat as you'd expect in a neighborhood beer parlor, but I've always found the staff friendly, alert, and competent. I've never had a complaint about the service. No, what hurts this place is the food. Don't get me wrong, I've never had a bad meal there. I just don't think the food is as good as the prices they charge for it demand. I don't really like the whole gastro-pub concept that is so popular these days in Seattle. Really, if I'm out for a beer, I want pub grub. Yes, the corned beef sandwich is very tasty, but it just pisses me off, because it replaced a Reuben sandwich that was to die for. As another reviewer noted, the new pretzel they use isn't as good as the previous version, even if it is healthier and locally sourced. Seriously, a beer hall needs bratwurst, not pork belly. Oh, and I should note, they have some of the worst french fries I have ever had. It's as if they are buying the rejected hand -cut fries from another place. You buy a basket of fries, and leave at least 1/3, as they are these little grease-saturated scraps. Still, the beer is good, and I'll be there again soon, for the beer..

This place has it all: great beers, outdoor beer garden, excellent food, and cool ambiance right in the heart of Greenwood. They recently opened their new patio called the Walrus after the old bar that used to be there and burned down years ago. Long story short, I was hunting for a place to grab lunch, enjoy some awesome beers, (had my 2yr old), and feel the sun on my back on this amazing day in Seattle. This place hit the spot. I absolutely love the big picnic table shared seating. It reminds me of Germany and forcing us introverts out of our shells to actually chat with strangers over a beer. It's that socialization component that so many place here in Seattle lack. I grabbed a table and struck up a conversation with the couple next to me, who happened to be one of the owners. How cool is that? I got to overhear the story of the Waltus and their artists that painted the amazingly vibrant murals. One is of a jazz player that used to play in a club at the location years ago and the other is of a Phoenix, which symbolizes the rise after the fire. It is incredible artwork and its a great addition to colorful Greenwiod. I started my beer consumption with a Waltus IPA. Sensational. Super hoppy, clean, crisp and not overly earthy. Next I moved on to the Belgian Session Fleur D'Elise which was damn tasty. A great beer for cooling off on a sweltering 75 degrees here in Seattle (ha ha). Then I rounded off my beer journey with a Crossfire IPA and loved that one as well. Walrus was more my style but had no complaints with the Crossfire. For lunch I had the bacon burger, while my little one had the Mac n cheese. Both of us lived the food as there wasn't a morcel left on either plate. And the fries were awesome. I am a total fry snob, and these fresh cut potatoe strips were perfectly salted sliced thin as they should be and oh so yummy. I am not a fan of huge steak fries or thick potatoe wedges because they always taste chalky. Not these fries. They were fan-fry-kn-tastic! Cheers guys for doing it right! Solid lineup of 12 incredible beers made right here at the brewery along with 12 guest taps. Guest taps are lined with tons of local seasonal beers including Big Time Icculus Pake, Reuben's Brews American Rye, Airways Sky Hag, Seapine PNW Pale, Twelve Bar Supertonic IBA, Oskar Blues Nitro G'Knight, Bison Organic IPA, and No-Li Wrecking Ball Stout just to name a few. Naked city has 3 IPAs (awesome), a red, three Belgians, and a few lighter beers for those that haven't turned to the dark side of the hop. All in all, this place rules.

Came in for beers and dinner and was pleasantly surprised to find them showcasing Finn River Cidery ciders. The wife is gluten free and was beside herself when the bartender (Kate) offered to mix the Forest Ginger and Black Currant ciders for her. Gotta admit, it was pretty dang tasty and really nice of the bartender to offer. I had a fresh hopped cider that was surprisingly hoppy and fresh tasting. I don't usually order cider in a brewery, but what the heck. There was a suggested pairing menu to go with the ciders so we had cider clams and a chicken pasta dish with yellow curry. The pasta was delicious and the wife loved her clams. Again, a great spot, awesome service, and good food. Well done, Naked City.

Food: 'beer cheese sauce' for a pretzel that tasted like neither beer or cheese (in fact didn't taste much like anything) and looked ghastly. And a cuban sandwich that was not a cuban. It was a pork sandwich with a sweet sauce and some barely existing pickle. Asked for mustard to add to it and got Heinz (although they have 'stone ground aoili'). The side salad was mixed greens with olive oil. It wasn't 'bad' food (i.e. it was cooked properly and I doubt will make me sick), but it was the wrong food, especially for the price. Beer: Enjoyed the India Red but sent back the amber ale. It was funky. Service: 1 of 2 bartenders was great, but I finished my pretzel and first beer by the time I got my order for dinner in. Atmosphere: Loud but expected. Traffic had apparently picked up right around the time I came in (one of the bartender's words), evident by the drunk guys on a pub crawl leaning in on me while ordering their double IPAs. Seattle being full of brewpubs and gastropubs, there's better and I won't be back. In my opinion you should have spent more money on the kitchen than the website.

Great food, good beers, fun atmosphere. We met up with friends on our last night in Seattle, and the Naked City Taphouse was our meeting point. Initially we were seated by a lady who, when we inquired about the menu with burgers as advertised on the website and in the window, told us that "what you see is what you get" when we were holding a happy hour appetizer menu and a partial tap list for the night. We *very* quickly got another member of waitstaff to help us, and all went exceedingly well afterward. Despite the fact that our party expanded in size twice during our evening, the staff member that took care of us was friendly and helpful throughout the evening. The burgers are delicious, and the in-house brews are quite nice as well. There's a good variety of local and West Coast microbrews on tap, and the back room is equipped with a projector that was set to TCM the night we went there. (Barbara Streisand, anyone?) I just wish I had remembered to get myself a t-shirt before I left. Perhaps I will order one to commemorate an evening with friends in an interesting town.

On a Friday night, this place was totally packed. After finding a table, we ordered various dishes including a whole fish and beet burgers. The service was less than stellar, but that was probably due to the business. Our waitress apologized for the wait, but we noticed people around us getting their food before us even though they came in after. The food was solid, and the beer was good too. I like the location, and ambiance. They also have silent film nights. I will try coming back again on a night that won't be so busy.

Beer: I love their smoked porter, mokah stout and the cream stout was decent. Food: The tomato and cheese flatbread is blander than blech. It'll make more sense if you are drinking right now, just come back to it. I've had the black bean burger which is damn good though, so I'll stick with that goodness. Service: Decent when they aren't overloaded with customers. Otherwise, you most likely won't get helped unless your MK, who I surmise is paying their salaries.

Naked City recently changed their menu, and it seems to be a little less pub-y and a little more faux upscale. This is not what I want. I want a pub with great vegan options (which is exactly what they used to be). I am pleased that the BBQ field roast sandwich is still available, and it's actually better than it used to be because they added a slaw to it. But everything else I had was worse -- soggy soggy french fries, pretzles that are now whole grain (which would be fine) but also raw in the middle and kind of dry. My BF was disappointed not to find any of the pub comformt food he expected on the menu, so he ordered pork chops that included a side of greens, and found it to be one of the most disappointing meals ever. I like the focus on local food, but I would prefer if they could do local food that still fits the pub vibe and includes things that people actually want with beer. I used to think of this place as a great dinner option, but our last expeirence was so disappointing that I doubt if we'll be back (ever?)

Ah snaps, Naked City! Why you so good to me? I don't deserve all the tastiness you offer. Right before I moved to Greenwood a friend was all like "yo, dawg - you need to go to Nekked City if you know wut's good for you". Ugh, he doesn't really talk like that but I wish, wish, wish he did. I hadn't heard of Naked City but I sure did love beer. What's the worst that could happen? The worst that could happen, you say? No clue. Because only awesomeness has happened. I love this place because they have vegan/vegetarian options. The beers, they are tasty! Sour beers, yesssss. Ciders, ciders, ciz-iders! And a couple fine-ass people work up in this joint. That's always a bonus. One day a friend and I were all curious about the pickled veggies (they're the bomb - doo eet) and so the chef was so damn gracious and kind enough to come out and tell us how she makes them each day. Da fuq? She just gave me her secrets! Mwahahahaha! But she knows my ass is too lazy to pickle my own veggies... so I'll keep buying from her. Sriracha Aioli. Try some.

Yes Naked City is a good place for beer lovers. They have so much to choose from! I came here with a friend who wanted to meet up here since they had vegetarian friendly dishes. Worked out for me since I'm still exploring this neighborhood. I had their hot pretzel which was served with a dipping sauce made of cheese, Dijon mustard and a locally brewed porter. Overall it was alright. The texture of the dipping sauce was off, it was a little gritty and the mustard was overpowering. I should have just ordered more beer instead of getting something to snack on. My friend had their tomato and cheese flat bread, which was a safe starter, as well as the seasonal salad minus the hard boiled egg. He was satisfied with what he ordered. I heard they do silent films on the last Sunday of the month, which I would love to check out someday.

Went and checked out this place last night with a friend. Decent sized place, plenty of seating, didn't see anyone wait for a table. They have a huge beer selection which is awesome. While I do love beer I haven't tried a big selection of micro beers, mostly only imports and domestic. So I told my friend what I normally like and he suggested the Speelya IPA and I was satisfied with his recommendation and stuck with it for a few. We finally got around to ordered food after going back and forth for awhile. He had the spicy chicken sandwich which was supposed to come with chips, but they accommodated the request for mashed potatoes stating "shouldn't be a problem, trying to get rid of them" well okaaaaaay thanks! I had the "tomato & cheese" which was awesome, pretty straight forward, tomato and cheese on flat bread with some basil--delicious. I'm sure I will be back here soon!

Cool people, fun atmosphere, dece food for you and your veggie friends but-- of course-- the awesome beer selection is the real draw. Minus one star for slightly uncomfortable seating and mildly inattentive waiters (I'll be fair, they were pretty busy for a Tuesday night). I always get the pretzel and pickled veggies, though I admit... the beer cheese sauce that comes with the pretzel is surprisingly disappointing. Hmm.

Great pub food - - loved the Cuban Sandwich & my hubby enjoyed the house burger with blue cheese. Fries are made in-house, simple but good. We tries 3 ales between us & enjoyed them all. Pleasant & knowledgeable server, but he didn't hover (which we liked) - - he gave good advice on the brews.

A depressing place in the Greenwood neighborhood. Very strong odor of fried food tells me the ventilation is bad. Music playing during happy hour was a collection of sad songs. Pretzel was ok. Pickle plate was unimpressive. Too much jicama and not much else. Chickpea crusted eggplant was ok. Vegetarian Cuban sandwich was poorly presented and not so good, just some beets and pickles.

I'm a fan of Naked City. I usually prefers breweries that stick solely to serving their own brew, but in this case, I like that they always have a wide variety of rotating taps. Especially because they have a variety of ciders as well for the folks who aren't beer/ wine fans. (No hard alcohol.) I tried the blonde this past time, not my favorite, but a solid beer. Fairly standard food menu - I had the chicken burger. Mixed reviews on the other food at the table. We were able to put a couple large tables together for a big group which is nice but man, this place is kid central at night. Just prepare yourself.

NEETO ITS GOT NAKED IN ITS NAME! This place is ok, The Naked City Beer is TERRIBLE don"t get suckered into the $.50 savings. The beers they bring in are great. The only reason I go back to this place is the staff, they are pretty BITCHEN, not the normal big boobed skinny b....ch who ignores u! Actually cool people. I get annoyed at there prices so I go less frequently, maybe once every 2 months. Food is in the might be improving, but over priced catagory, eat at MR. Gyro and then come drink a beer here. 9 service 4 price 6 ambiance 5 food

Outstanding brewpub. They had 12 of their own bets on tap plus other brewery's. Recommend Cry Me A River IPA and Crossfire IPA. We all had lamb shank to ear and was also very good. Totally recommend this place for beer lovers

I have been coming here since they first opened and as the owner said "wanted to be a quiet neighborhood place" and every time I leave thinking it was a mistake. Now we have a choice between 10 different kinds of IPA and some culinary experiments (don't name your sandwich a 'cuban' if it has nothing to do with the isle-or worse an insult to cuban food). I suppose it's possible that there are enough potential patrons in town that you could offend every one's tastebuds and still have new customers streaming in, but your longevity as an establishment is in question. I did not eat the sandwich. It was nasty. It tasted like ass. I gave it back and you still charged me $15 for it. You are nearby and this potential long term regular is gone (as are my neighbors).

This is a perfectly fine place. I love having a real cupcake for dessert, the beer is certainly good, everything here is perfectly fine. Why not more stars? Well . . . look. If a friend offers to meet you here, meet them here. It's a good place. It really is. But there are so so so so many places to eat and drink microbrews in Greenwood, that in order to give Naked City five stars - which it would deserve in almost any other category - you'd have to give other places seven stars. But - do go here. There's nothing wrong here, and everything is fine. But it wouldn't be honest to say that "it's as good as it gets," or even, "woo-hoo!" It's a good place. Enjoy. Oh, by the way - the stout cupcake kicks Cupcake Royale right in the ake. It is one of the best cupcakes I have ever had.

Great beer selection, great food terrible customer service. Seriously who runs this place?? I came in on Thursday to grab some happy hour. I stood up front waiting to be seated and such and litterally 3 servers and this bald douchebag that works there just kept on passing me when I holler. Is this what Greenwood has turned into? Seriously how do you stay in business?

Naked City is one of those places that is really hard to review. In just one visit, I felt like one bartender was a real cold fish, one was friendly and nice, and others popped in and out with narry a word to us. I imagine they must be splitting tips, since we got service from two different individuals at the bar. Great music, tons of beers to choose from in what seems like endless rotating varities. Still only two stars-- not a beer drinker. The hard pear cider was drinkable. Cons are parking and terrible campy 80s horror movies on the TVs. Bottom line: come here if you are a beer and horror movie lover who likes the bus.

We went at 4 for an early dinner, but they were still serving lunch. If you're going for dinner, go after 5. This place has a great beer selection, but the food was just average. If you're looking for a knockout dinner spot, there are better choices close by.

Great beer selection! Came here for happy hour. The beer selection and service were both great. The menu is nothing special and I had a hard time finding something that I wanted to order. I'm not too picky but it just seemed like the highlight was a pulled pork sandwich. We were bailed out by the polenta with mushroom special of the day. It was pretty good. I like Naked City. The beer, the service, the atmosphere, etc... I just think the menu needs better options.

Naked City! I forgot about you for awhile, and turns out I've never reviewd you. What kind of madness is this?!?! Alright, my biggest sadness is only beer and wine, I wish they could have some hard alcohol too, but you know what, I'm over it. Here's why. Fantastic service. Clean, dark, pretty, and laid back hangout. FANTASTIC food. I mean it. I love that they are veggie friendly. Now that I remember this place, I best head back there real soon!

We randomly swung by since we hadn't been here before and it just happened to be the 3rd anniversary of Naked City. So yeah, the place was packed, everyone was having a good time, the huskies were playing Standford, a band was setting up and there was TONS of stuff on tap. Multiple ciders, root beer and lots of beer. We didn't have any food since we were only stopping by to try a few beers, but the root beer I had was the best ever and while it probably wasn't a naked city brew, I was glad to see they had some on tap since it's a rarity. The girl helping us was just that, helpful, she was busy, but still had time to come and check on us fairly often. Overall a good visit.

Do you like beer? Do you like naked people? OK... well I can promise ONE of those at Naked City. Sorry... no, I meant the beer. But don't we all love beer? And hey, have enough beers, or buy someone enough, and maybe you'll see some nakedness at the end of your night. Sometimes beer and nudity go hand in hand! But yes. Back to the bar! This is a great spot to savor the best local brews. With tons of beer on tap, your choices are endless. I'm a bar person too. I love to sit AT the bar. This bar is nice and long with over a dozens stools. Perfect for groups, good for dates, and even for catching a game. They have tasty snacks like pretzels, some vegan options, and best of all - CLEAN BATHROOMS!

There is only one thing I dislike about my recent move to Capitol Hill -- I am no longer in walking (or even comfortable busing) distance of what I consider to be one of the two irrefutably best bars in the city of Seattle. Obviously, there are the beers. Aside from the ever-changing list of local craft beers, Naked City offers plenty of their own beer that, in my opinion, often blows everything else out of the water. They tend to brew a lot of Belgians and barleywines, and at the price of $4.50, it's a ridiculous bargain. I never fail to leave happy and hammered. Then, there is the food. Although food may seem secondary to the beer at this place, it is still awesome. I have never had a bad sandwich here, and the pretzel with that heavenly porter-infused cheese sauce is a must. And THEN, there is the service. The people who work here are attentive, knowledgeable, and fun. If you are ever lucky enough to become a regular, you too will understand how great these people are. Let's just hope that I will get the chance to visit Naked City as often as possible!

Our neighborhood beer bar... - A thorough and varied beer selection. They have 5 or so of their own beers, but an extensive selection of other beers too (20 or so). I appreciate the fact they have almost every type of beer represented throughout the year - The menu has recently been redone. It used to be borderline inedible, but since they've added a fryer, there's more of a focus on pub grub. The burger and fries are worthwhile. - Can be packed on weekend nights. I'd recommend weekdays if you don't like crowds. - The waitstaff is hit or miss. Rick and some of the other bartenders are patient and nice -- others seem combative and act like they're doing you a favor. Hopefully get lucky... - Always ask for tastes -- the bartenders are usually happy to give you a try if you're curious The best deal in town is the all-day Sunday happy hour. Abuse this.

On a Saturday afternoon in the northern reaches of Seattle, we stopped in to Naked City for a snack / late lunch. The place was doing a good clip as it was their 5 year anniversary. Supposedly, all of the beers they have historically made were on tap. Unfortunately, ti took forever to try the beer I did order. The service was the real killer here. Things moved at a glacial pace. The food was very mediocre and we won't be going back...

I was originally a fan of this place been going there for about a year and in recent months have seen a decline of service and it's really quite sad some of the servers are great and knowledgeable. Some just don't seem to care and just want their paycheck. I understand being a server isn't always great. The food is brewery food and kind of fancy brewery food compared to others. But the fries omg I died and went to French fry heaven. The sauce take my breath away by Celine Dion in my head eveytime. The beer mmmm..... oh the beer. If you're looking for a good hangout spot naked city is great and plays old timey movies plus events if you check their page. Great place but the boss needs to crack that whip a little.

I enjoyed their beer selection. It was quite impressive. Their food, however, left a LOT to be desired. Maybe I just had an off experience, but I ordered a caesar chicken salad and I got a bunch of wet lettuce with hardly any dressing and no cheese, either. The chicken on top was good though. On Foursquare, I left a comment saying "stay for the beers, leave for the foods". That about sums it up. I might try again at another time, so I am hoping I can have a better experience then.

My bf and I were NOT impressed with our current experience here. I ordered the brisket sandwich which was supposed to come with cider caramelized onions, and he ordered the black and blue burger. To sum it up shortly: 1. It took 25 minutes for our sandwiches to come out upon ordering. 2. The brisket was super dry and grainy--not juicy, like you'd expect. 3. The brisket didn't come with said onions, as promised. I had to flag someone down and send it back. 4. When they come out with my redone sandwich, it was literally two or three pieces of caramelized onion. Barely there. The brisket to onion ratio was minuscule. 5. His black and blue burger was also dry. 6. I ordered a refill of my diet coke. The waitress forgot. I had to remind her to please bring me my drink. She said, "sorry, I usually only remember the beers." Um, okay. 7. No napkins. With all the greasiness of our meals, you'd think they'd bring us some napkins with our meals. 8. You have to constantly flag someone down to get any service. They don't do the regular walk-arounds/check-ins to make sure everything is okay. My neck hurts from all the head-turning/trying-to-catch-someone's-attention looks. Yeah. NOT coming back.

Like a well worn shoe. That is how Naked City feels to me. I have this pair of penny loafers that are 20 years old and I still like to slip my feet into them dressing down. Naked City if comfortable like that. Yes, they have an excellent beer selection but did you know they are family friendly? It's true! Almost all of their tables are in the all ages section so bring the kids. Their food is limited to starters, a couple of salads and sandwiches but they are done pretty well. Warning, the Crab and Artichoke Dip is VERY spicy! So, grab the kid and come in for a pint!

What happened to my Naked City?? First, let me say that the beer, and the selection thereof, is still stellar. But now it's the only reason to go. More often than not, friends and I would land at Naked City most Tuesday nights, and we loved it. Months ago when April, our favorite waitress, excitedly told us about the impending menu changes, we were enthusiastic. First, there was that interim menu -- as I've been calling it -- that was introduced after the folding paper ones disappeared earlier this year, but now there is another menu. A new menu. One page, and trying too hard. With things like Cauliflower Steaks. And Beet Burgers. And a Charcuterie appetizer? Huh? The old menu's hop shoots were bad enough, but what in the world is this? NOT an improvement. (neither is the change in happy hour times) I'm all for vegetarian options; their black bean burger, now a Ghost of Menus Past, was my favorite and my go-to nearly every week. But it's gone. And this new menu is ridiculous. We tried new things and were unimpressed by each of our selections. Their beef burgers used to be good, but now...meh. The soft pretzel -- another weekly go-to item -- used to be served super hot and this week, it was practically cold. The usually yummy beer cheese accompaniment was watery and virtually tasteless. Unfortunately, we won't be back until the food options match the beer selection in awesomeness. Sorry Naked City. And April? We already miss you.

I really want to love this place, but keep on getting shut down by some of the staff. I tried seeing if it was possible to book a table for a group for my birthday. The woman sounded very annoyed that I was asking a normal question for restaurant about POSSIBLY holding a table. I was spoken to like I was a clueless 8 year old, asking me if everyone was 21. I'm turning 27. She then told me she'd write down a note for the staff and asked for my name. I have a unique name, believe me, I know. I was born with it. Don't laugh at my name, especially when you treat me like I am an inconvenience, and that I liked your guys' place so much, I would want to celebrate my birthday dinner here. And to top my awesome phone call, she hangs up on me in mid sentence. Screw that. I'll take my business elsewhere.

I was pleasantly surprised by the food! I had the Reuben and Gumbo special...the pastrami was really pretty special, I'm not an expert on gumbo but it was tasty as well. The selection of beer was great...I wish they had there own IPA to try. The Country Boy was pretty tasty and my friend loved the Lips of Faith Cocoa Mole. I'd give 5 stars for a little friendlier service...not saying it was bad, it just wasn't friendly.

A good bar with a good beer selection but leave the beer at the bar. We got a growler to go but the server left a good 3" of air in the neck. I ordered it to keep a few days before opening, but with all the air in the neck it certainly wouldn't last. I informed the sever that it was a poor fill but she decided to argue instead of adding a another 1/4 cup of beer. Oh well, plenty of other places to get a growler in the North end. The food is good but the apps are poor. Stick to the beer.

Cam and I came here the other night to meet up with a bunch of other Yelpers for Nina's birthday. I thought the atmosphere was really cool and the movies playing at the back of the expansion was a nice touch. I know they've only started to have a more extended menu, but it was nice to see a bit of variety. I just wish there had been some sort of seafood option; since I don't eat chicken and I'm not the biggest fan of pork and beef, it would be good for another alternative. I had the brisket sandwich, and Cam had the pork sliders. A few people had paid for appetizers before everyone came so we also got to try the spare ribs, the cheesy bread with the tomato on top (I don't remember what it was called) the cheese, olive and wiener plate (baha!) and the pretzel. I thought everything was pretty darn good, but the brisket could have had a little more flavor. I did however, not like the fries. They reminded me too much of Dicks and Sunni's. I don't like soggy fries. I also had cider, and Cam tried a Naked City beer and the Irish Red and really liked both. To put the icing on the cake, (hehehe) Alisha(?) made a almond meringue layer cake type thing with fresh whipped cream and balsamic soaked strawberries for the group. It was ah-maz-ing! A little bit went a long way though since it was pretty rich with whipped cream. In the end, for our sliders, brisket, and 6 drinks we paid about $50. I thought that was great. Plus, we got to come out and have a great time for Nina's birthday!

Naked City, I love your beers. Don't get me wrong. You have a fantastic selection of taps, and all of your own brews that I have had, including most recently the Duplicity, have all been delicious. Plus, super reasonably priced. But your french fries are WAY too salty. I couldn't even eat them. Every time I come here, I am disappointed with your food, even with your new expanded kitchen/menu. The Bleu cheese and bacon burger I had was good, but nothing special. Your beers though are fantastic, and I will definitely be back many more times to drink more of your beers. But I have given up trying to eat your food, its just not good, I'm sorry. I guess that just means more room and money for beer!

Food is hippyish meets emo meets rotten apricots. My pork chop was the fatty consistency of a dogs chew toy. The cauliflower steak is a joke. A head of grilled cauliflower on a bed of olive oil drenched quinoa? Blah. Service is weird. Nuff said. On a plus side though the ambience is chill, pub-like. But nottt good enough to drop a hundred on an over salted gross meal.

Poor service from a surly, condescending waitress, and a long LONG wait time for crappy food would be the short version of my review. The beer on tap was nothing to write home about (in the past they've had decent beer in bottles/cans, but now you have to ask to see the list). Most of the tables and bar stools were empty, so there's really no excuse. One thing their menu doesn't mention: their "stone ground aioli" had the harsh flavor of horseradish or Dijon mustard, and I would have had them leave it off had I known. It took so long for the food to arrive, we were starving, and didn't have the time to send anything back. God knows how much worse it would have been if we had. The French fries were not quite burnt, but they were crusty and dark, and tasted of old grease. Maybe we were there on the day they change the oil in their fryers, but they looked awful. My friend said the salad was good, so at least there's some hope. We'd tried this place a few years ago, when they had just a few pricey food offerings, and it was disappointing then, too. At least that time, we had an excellent waitress, but this one was on the opposite end of the spectrum. If she'd apologized for the long wait, and hadn't made flippant, inaccurate statements about beer (and when questioned, argued that we were wrong and she was right) the lousy food might not have seemed so lousy. But I get the feeling that would go against her nature. Maybe we'll return, but not for months (if not years). Perhaps by then, the staff will be upgraded. Or, maybe sent to charm school.

We had Naked City Brewery at our company's summer picnic last month and they were a great hit. We loved being able to have a local brewery and something a bit outside of the normal offerings our employees tend to see at events. They ensured they delivered a chilled keg and even came back to pick it up right on time. Our employees loved the IPA and the blonde we had and we would absolutely recommend them again to anyone looking for nice, local beer!

Very cool brewery & bar in the Greenwood neighborhood! They have a pretty good happy hour until 7 on weekdays that takes a dollar off their MANY draft beers and offer some very tasty food as well! Things can get pretty busy during the prime hours, but you will most likely be able to find a spot in their ample bar seating. A couple IPAs, and their tasty hot pretzel with Dijon Mustard/White Cheddar dipping sauce will have you in a very happy mood! Definitely recommend coming here for a tasty beer and bite!

Enjoyed the pints. Nice atmosphere, however with the taller ceilings, I could imagine it getting quite loud when busy. I ordered the 1/2 BLT & 1/2 Ceasar Salad. Both were tasty, I'd definitely come back. The beer selection was quite large and always rotating.

I've watched Naked City grow up from the small little place in Greenwood to this massive two building, full on kitchen and a line at the door. For the past three years, I am so happy they're doing well, but alas, with such expansion, comes the lack of love from a long-time customer. I love the kitchen's new menu, it's fun. The gumbo is mind-blowing. The sandwiches are always good, the addition of a burger is great. The french fries, are a toss-up. Sometimes they're good, most of the time though, they're burnt (oil problem?), not much of consistency, but I give them the benefit of the doubt because it's a new toy in the kitchen. Now, kitchen consistency, pisses me off. I don't know who deals with it, but giving my friends an order of a sandwich with the side of french fries without any offer of ketchup or mustard and then tell me they're charging me $0.50 when they bring me a side of house sauce is #$%^&*. I think you're WAY over your heads, especially when you tell me only AFTER you bring the sauce that you're charging me? How about putting the damn price in the menu? Do you expect me to eat fries dry when it's already 'burnt' and 'dry' to begin with? I have a hard time bringing friends here, you're in Greenwood, not Belltown/Downtown/Ballard. Getting stuffy here my friends, too stuffy.

Naked City has great lunch specials and a very nice staff. I've been in three times and each time it was a different bartender and they've all been very pleasant. The one thing I don't care for (and it's minor) is their house salad dressing. What is that flavor? I keep forgetting to ask for a different dressing.

What is not to love about anything in Greenwood! The food choice was oh so delightful. I got a burger and fries and I just have to say it was a great decision! The fries are probably the best fries I have had at a brewery! They were the perfect texture and the burger well it melted in my mouth! The setting was very relaxed and they had it separated into three areas, one for outside, one for family, and one for plus 21. They were just a little busy and slower than our normal setting but it was the weekend that the brewers festival was going on so it could be expected. I'll for sure be going back here!

I'm at more of a 3 1/2 star on this but I don't feel it deserves a four star so 3 it is! I really wanted to go here because one, it's rated well on Yelp, and two I saw that they had a couple of the Lips of Faith beers from New Belgium on tap. The beer selection did not disappointed. I had an excellent Cocoa Mole that has to now be my favorite beer out of sheer uniqueness. Food, food, food. I decided on the bbq pulled pork sandwich. The sauce was a bit heavy which didn't let me truly enjoy the pork, and it was really more of a big slider size not a full burger size. The salad on the side was nice greens and good dressing. My dining partner got the pastrami sammy and cup o gumbo. He said the gumbo was good but spicy and the pastrami stellar! I may have to try that next time. Service was meh... our server was just sorta polite and when I asked for water she pointed me to a stand where I could get it myself and then she said "well since I am up I will get it" Um isn't that kinda part of being a waitress?? Hmmm. So all in all I will be back, mainly for the beer.

The 1st time I ate here, I was pleasantly surprised. But my recent visit changed my impression. Feeling under the weather, I decided to order the Naked Gumbo. I was so excited to dip my spoon into hot spicy soup. But when I did, it was cold. Not warm, straight COLD. I asked the waitress if it was supposed to be cold, and she said no and took it back to the kitchen. She came back, and the gumbo was luke warm. Warmer than the 1st time, but not piping hot as it should have been. I was absolutely starving, so I took it after she asked if it was ok. I didn't care. They took forever bringing the food out. The least Naked City could have done was to NOT charge me for the meal, but to my dissapointment it was on the final bill.

I love the balance of music / noise / lighting / roominess at Naked City! They have a fantastically rotating selection of local brews and awesome servers who will help you select your next favorite beer and keep your glass full on the ready - without being overbearing. Whether you're out with one friend or many ... or on datenight - you'll find a cozy seat, some great food, and lots of beer to choose from!

I love the beer and the atmosphere. BUT, the food here severely blows my bung hole. The waitress here said they got a new chef and new menu and that the food would be alot better now. We just tried it and I'm severely disappointed, because I loved this place. Now I don't know if I'll be back until Naked City get's their act together and stops skimping on the food. Why can't Naked City actually pay for a decent chef?

Yelp steered me towards NCB&T and recent reviews about sloppy service had me walking in with my fingers crossed. First let me put your service anxiety to rest and tell you the service with received was great. There were at least four people who checked on us, took our orders and brought our food & drink. We sat in the back room that had a black & white Mothra movie playing on the back wall. The sound was turned off and my fears of the lights being turned down, volume turned up and a Japanese Sci-Fi film festival breaking out were never realized. Phew. My favorite part was the beer selection. Not a never-ending list, but enough for 3 guys to sample 3 or 4 and have plenty more to choose from on our next visit. I estimate close to 3 dozen selections. They seemed to lean toward IPA which is fine with me. The food is a little upscale (trendy perhaps?) and good. I was hoping for some "classic" pub food. The menu is online so my expectations were my own fault. I had "The Pinkerton" with greens on the side and I cleaned the plate. No complaints. We ordered an appetizer of fries which were also tasty. An appetizer, 3 entrees and 10 glasses of brew came to $112 with tax and tip. Seemed reasonable to us.

Five for the beer, and three for the food. So, four stars for Naked City Taphouse. Things to unashamedly love: *The extensive beer list (with lots of local offerings). Duh. *That the extensive beer list is doubly long because, instead of listing only what's on tap, NCT also lists what's coming up. So, if you're like me, you can plan an entire future visit to Greenwood around the arrival of Hair of the Dog Adam. Or whatever. *Dollar off drafts at Happy Hour! *Fantastic pretzel with Tillamook dip, really good Field Roast pate. *A food menu emphasizing vegetarian options, from appetizers to salads to sandwiches. Never seen so much Field Roast on a bar menu! Things to merely like: *The food. Yep, I loved having all the veggie/healthy options, and my turkey, havarti, and basil pesto sandwich was tasty. But, there's quite a high bread-to-filling ratio. My man's Field Roast BBQ had barely a thread of roast trickling between two huge bread slices, and my cauliflower cheddar soup tasted of nothing so much as processed cheese. At NCT, you can eat decent food in order to keep drinking and make it home; just don't expect it to be the high point of the night out. The food at places like Elysian, Brouwer's, and Hopvine is far superior if you want a good dinner AND great beer. But I have yet to find a beer list this great, so I can't wait to head back for a future happy hour, order a few appetizers, and settle in with a couple of exquisite pints (or smaller, since I love those Double IPAs)!

While visiting the area, I stopped in as its one of the "top 100" beer bars in the country from Draft Magazine and was a bit let down. While Naked City isn't bad by any stretch, its not great either. The burger was good - but I had to request how they were cooked rather than being asked (and it still wasn't done properly). My brother had the corned beef sandwich which was had too much horseradish and overpowered the well-prepared meat. I could see how this place could be great - but not when I was there.

We were greeted by Rick. I believe a manger. He was so warm and welcoming. The burger and fries were excellent. Our waitress was great too. Rick checked back on us a couple of times. He was running around and making sure everyone in your restaurant was well taken care of. What an asset you have.

What a gem! I love that Naked City Brewery and Taphouse has taken up a spot in the cool little Greenwood Ave area. I had a friend visiting from out of town and we wanted a cool little spot to have a few beers and catch up. We actually walked past Pillagers Pub (which is another great little place) and headed straight to Naked City. We lucked out and two spots opened at the bar just as we walked in. My friend was interested in a sampler of their beers and although it was not on the menu, the bartender was very accommodating. She really liked the Hoptrocity. I had their cider. We also ordered a few apps. This place would definitely appeal to the upscale beer folks. I'm more of wine person and they did have a decent wine selection. Overall, I just appreciate having a cool little place to hang out.

For a long time, Naked City was my Sunday night date spot with my husband because I couldn't get enough of the bbq field roast sandwiches and awesome beer selections. Though we no longer go weekly, it's always a treat to hang out at Naked City. Just a tip: when it's not busy, I highly recommend sitting at the bar. The service is much quicker and more attentive.

Great beer, great space, great atmosphere, great service, mediocre food. What can I say, sooooo close to getting that 5th star. Naked City is doing everything on a 5-star level except the food. The menu is a little limited and the food that is on it is just lacking. One of the most perfect places on earth in my opinion is a place that has fantastic beer, a fantastic atmosphere, and fantastic food. Naked City is close, but no cigar. It's an excellent location, so I will keep coming back, but I may choose another place for happy hour food or dinner.

Wow, this place gets cuhhhrazy on the weekends! And it's pretty big, you wouldn't know from the outside but there are so many nooks and crannies to park the butt and your beer and chat away. Excellent beer selection, soooo many good things on tap. I wanted all things on tap but my friends denied me of this so we each got different things on tap and then shurrrred. Late night grub is awesome. Gets loud, get ready to shout at your friends.

How can I keep you at 4 stars oh glorious Naked City? You've grown so much -- literally due to your recent expansion and figuratively in my heart as well. I just can't say "no" to you NCBC. I live no-where close to you, but when someone suggests a meet up I am on the bus like nobody's business. I love your BBQ pulled pork sandwich. Which is a miracle in and of itself because I typically do not like pork, and I have never been a fan of BBQ sauce. Yours is spicy, tender and delicious -- my only suggestion is have wet-naps available for those who order this delightfully sloppy sandwich. And then your beers. The beers! I have never been disappointed. Not once! Not by your in house brews or the ones you bring in (most recently happy with Russian River's Pliny the Elder & Full Sail's Golden Bourbon. A-yum). Im always heading back to my bus a little tipsy and happy that I made the trek to Greenwood to see you Naked City. And I'll keep coming back at the drop of a hat... don't you worry.

I love Naked City. Great beers, great staff. I'm also a big fan of the new menu and all the vegan/veg options available. Our 4 year old loves it too...how great to have a family friendly brewery in Greenwood! Just this last weekend he requested a pretzel from "Meghan City". lol.

So my review of Naked City is a long time coming, as it's the place I've populated the most since I've been in Seattle (other than work, I guess). Know this: by far, hands down, some of the best beer in the city. They both brew their own, and bring in a rotating selection from some of the best breweries in the pacific northwest, and once a keg is tapped don't you worry, they replace it immediately with another delicious option. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and I have no idea what people are complaining about in regards to service. Every waitress/waiter I've met there has been friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the products they serve. Want to taste a beer before you order, get a recommendation, or know what's coming up next in the beer rotation? Just ask and ye shall receive. All day Sunday happy-hour is pretty great too. I do wish they had outdoor seating, but that'll become a non-issue during the upcoming 8-9 months of rain we're in store for. Come to Naked City. You'll probably see me there.

Here is another great PNW brewery and tap house in Naked City. They create some great beers and make some awesome food. The tap house is huge with a good size bar, a lot of table and a lounge area also. The decor is simple and fits the bill of what Naked City. For food I ordered the BBQ sandwich with pulled pork which was topped with cider braised onions, smoked gouda and their beer-b-q sauce. It was simply amazing. I had fries with it that were backed not fried as well. This is a place that I well be back to again and again.

Was my second to last stop on my tour of the Pacific Northwest to visit breweries and fill up on great beer. I definitely like this place. The atmosphere was great, cool bar, and great beer selection. On top of that, the Naked City beers were good too. The bartender had their opinions on how the beer was, but ask for a sample, their word can only be taken with a grain of salt. The menu had listed Korean short ribs as an appetizer, which I would have gotten, but they were transitioning to a new menu the next day and no longer had it. Did not have any good, but I would definitely come back for the beer.

Great mix of house brews and guest taps. The place can get crowded on weekends. We really enjoyed when Naked City hosted the 2011 Seattle Beer Week Chili Cook-off.

The BF and I have decided that for 2012 we are going to do date night once a week. And we have vowed to do it so long as it revolves around beer. Our first date night/brew tour landed us at Naked City! We loved the beer - there's a nice variety of beer brewed in house, as well as excellent craft beer from elsewhere. We enjoyed Lips of Faith Prickly Passion Saison, Alameda Black Beer Nitro Stout, Naked City Duplicity, and Deschutes Abyss... all were great! The food we ordered was OK. I got the spicy chicken sandwich with a cup of their soup of the day (veggie), while the BF got the brisket sandwich with a side of gumbo. I thought the spicy chicken had a lot of flavor, but the soup did not. The BF liked his sandwich and gumbo. We enjoyed the atmosphere... big long bar filled with happy drinkers, groups of people playing board games, couples sitting at hightops and families gathering at big communal tables with kids playing underneath the tables. I'm sure we'll be back!

Ate here for the first time yesterday at lunch. I have never met and IPA I didn't like, until today. Theirs is just... unbalanced; I can see what they were trying for, but the mix of not enough hops and too much of the wrong citrus make it just weak and weird; their mix of flavors don't succeed together. (note to brewer -- if you're going to label something an IPA, you should really not lose the flavor of hops!). And I mean it when I say that I have LOVED every IPA I have ever tasted before this one (at least 20). Changed to another one of their Naked City beers and it was just "meh." Weird. My husband tried one of their "guest beers on tap," a chestnut dark beer, and that was very good. So the variety is there (add one star), but maybe stick to the beers that are NOT brewed at Naked City. Unfortunately, the food was awful. Hubby ordered pulled pork sandwich and fries. His sandwich was dry and bland and we were both pretty surprised that they seriously served us a plate of fries where every single fry was burned to a crisp. We are talking charcoal, here. You would never serve something like this to someone in your home. We should have taken a photo for Yelp -- it was that bad-looking. We actually did try to taste them; not edible. Now, I do see that their fries have been recommended by some on Yelp, so perhaps we just got the really lazy cook and server day? Who knows. Anyway, I ordered the chop salad with dressing on the side -- I recommend that you do NOT order this. It seriously came as a plate of iceburg chopped up with 3 separate "piles" of peppers, cheese and salami on top (not even mixed together). That's it. Didn't even bother to toss it together. Weird. Bland. Uninteresting. Even though this pub is only about 2 miles from our home, I can't see why we should ever come back. Finally -- horrible parking situation -- they don't have a lot and just try to park in Greenwood -- took us an extra 10 minutes to find a spot and walk the 2 blocks to get there. Good luck.

This place is pretty lame. Lame service, loud TV's, lame waitstaff, and cruddy food. The only reason for the extra star was their good selection of belgians and sours. I went there on a nice date with my fiance and once we were seated it took the "quirky" and indifferent waitress (short blonde hair, small head, ugly hat) probably 15 minutes to even acknowledge us. I guess she had to chat about nothing with the table next to us and then shoot the breeze with other waitstaff before she could pretend to notice we existed. once we ordered this lady's whole attitude was pretty much "do you want this thing you ordered? okay, order food if you want, I don't care. Do you want more beer? I don't care if you do but like, if you do that's fine with me. Whatever. who cares? I certainly don't." I can't even begin to tell you how many times this woman said "I don't care" to us. So we order a couple of beers and some field roast sandwiches which were like $10 apiece. We get the sandwiches and all they are is a small amount of field roast with a little bit of bland BBQ sauce on a cheap rosemary roll (not essential baking or grand central ... more like albertson's brand day-olds). While we're eating another waitress comes over to update the menu on our table and nearly knocks over my fiance's drink. When she goes to grab it, she accidentally sticks her fingers in his beer and then leaves it for him to drink rather than offering to get him a new one. I'm not sure what other people see in this place, maybe i've missed the boat on the whole crappy service and bad food trend, but I certainly won't be going back to Naked City.

The food is awesome, so is the beer. They could stand to add a few more selections to the kid's menu but my son didn't complain. In fact he really likes the food there! We like that the art changes so frequently. They never seem to have the soup ready in the early afternoon, so I don't know if we'll bother anymore - the salad is pretty boring.

  • C B.

Came in waited 10 mins to get menus, looked over the menu, 10 more minutes, friends arrived waited 15 more minutes. Table next to us seated drinks ordered and food ordered in under 3 minutes. Over 30mins and we were never asked once if we were ready, wow, unbelievable, we got up and left. No acknowledgment, no nothing from the lamest waitstaff I've ever experienced in Seattle. Went, just down the street, to the Pig and Whistle, great menu, really good food, good beer selection, and fantastic service. Could have spent the $130 at Naked City, but why when only a block away is a much better place. Granted the beer selection at Naked City is good, but don't expect good service. The menu at NC has only gone downhill, the beer selection is great, everything else stinks. 20% for parties of 6 or more, guess they don't care, why when guaranteed a good tip regardless of their service. We did only what we could do which was to get up and spend our money else where, would recommend you do the same.

So, I added another star for the table service. The food was a bit better, I can tell that they have added to their menu. Yet again the soup was the best thing out of the food. I find myself going someplace else for food, and coming here for a beer.

  • B C.

I love this place. They have the largest selection of super-micro brews (nano-brews?) I have ever seen. When you show up, the bartenders usually ask what style of beer you like so they can help you select something, because odds are you've never heard of 90% of what they have on tap. I live nearby, and Naked City is almost always packed to the gills, even on weeknights. Show up before the evening rush to get a decent table if you plan on eating. Which you should.

    (4)
  • Gina R.

If you like beer definitely check out Naked City. They are constantly rotating their taps so you can always try something new. Their food is fine- it'll do if you're hungry- but not their strength. Service can be a bit slow, but is always friendly.

  • Steve H.

We've eaten dinner here 3 or 4 times now and love the fact that it's in the neighborhood. Great rotating selection of beers and the food is pub-quality solid. Have read some Yelp gripes about the service but every time we've been here the servers have been prompt, friendly and attentive. All the place needs is a roll-up garage door in the summer for their front window.

  • Glen B.

I think that this place will have a lot more going for it once it gets cleared for the brewery they are supposed to be putting on. The place is well put together and looks nice, has a great location. Lacking in the food department. It also doesn't have the best beer list I've seen around. That being said, for just getting on its feet, it is doing well. I will give it a revisit in a few months and see where it is at then.

Naked City Taphouse is located in the the subtly cool neighborhood of Greenwood and is a destination for any beer lover. They have 25 rotating taps of excellent, unique, and some hard to find beers and will soon have five beers on tap of their own design. Currently, they have their own Dubbel which is an excellent rendering of the style. The decor is unpretentious and the staff is about introducing you to great beers. They are friendly and helpful and there is absolutely no beer 'snobbery', so ask your questions and ask for tastes and be prepared for some great beer. If you want to try several they recommend the correct order to quaff your libations to the utmost enjoyment!

Naked city has a good beer selection, but the limited food offerings are terrible. The decor here creates an particularly uncomfortable atmosphere, and will ultimately keep me away. I may stop in when the brewing operation gets going.

Had the Smoked Turkey sandwich. Super delicious and the fries were to die for! Atmosphere is super cool. Outside setting was perfect for the weather. Service though good have been better. I don't think I was offered a refill and there was absolutely no napkins. But otherwise, it was good. Will go back.

I love the beer here, unfortunately for whatever reason, the original servers and bartender all have massive attitudes and in general act like you are a burden on their daily life. I have come here since it opened and it's just no longer fun. I love the beer and the venue.. I just think they need to either pay the OG staff enough so they actually make you feel welcome, or get rid of them.

Are you looking for an hour wait before you get your food, even with a three year old in tow? This is the place! "We're busy" the rarely seen waiter apologized. Yeah, well, all the more reason to avoid the place. If they're busy, you get to wait! An hour! With no apologies from the staff. Won't be back.

"Drink Naked" as they would say. This brewery always has a great selection of beer on tap from their brewery. They also have great rotating seasonal beers. Although I always make a point to drink their beer but from what I've spied they also have a great rotating guest beer list too. I usually get their burger with bacon. The kitchen definitely does great with food. It's my favorite burger in Greenwood for sure. Their Sriracha dip is awesome with the fries. From what I've seen their other food looks delicious but it's hard for me to turn down a burger and beer. The atmosphere is welcoming and most of their staff is super friendly and fun. They occasionally have live music but it's on a separate side from the front bar so it's not disturbing if you just want to hang out. The back bar is super cozy which lends to a whole different atmosphere. I usually hang out in the front bar, but I really don't have any reason to why. Probably because it's closer to the door or the back bar is closed (or appears closed). I can't wait to spend some time on their awesome huge patio! UPDATE 8/25/2015: I still like going here, I've had a lot of great experiences. The beer is delicious. However, the food has kinda been bumming me out and the service has just been hit and miss. There's a couple super high strung people that kinda make for an awkward dining experience, others that are oblivious to anything other than themselves, but then there's the folk that make it fantastic with their fun and attentive personalities. So much that I purposefully sit where I know I'll get better service regardless of if it's where I want to sit or not. I am so tongue tied about this place lately. I'll be back for the beer.

I like this place. I've been here a handful of times, and will certainly return time and time again. I'm not a huge beer drinker - but I hear they have a great tap list. I DO, however, love cider - and they have a top notch selection of ciders, too. I've never eaten a bad thing from Naked City - the fries are magical. I generally get something burgery and delicious. Service is usually ok - but just ok. It's definitely not bad - just a little lackluster most of the time. About 3/4 of the time I go there, it's just hard to get server attention when they're not directly engaged with your table (taking orders, delivering drinks/food), so there's not a lot of opportunity to ask for additional stuff like sauces, new beverages, additional food, etc. There's not much "checking in" at the table. I will say, though--the last time I went--service was excellent. There was a group of about 6 of us on the patio, Nick was our server, and he was very attentive, and knowledgeable about the food and drinks they had to offer. High five, Nick. You're the best server I've ever had at Naked City.

I have never eaten here. The new outside beer garden is AWESOME. I love being able to eat along the bar and people watch in greenwood. They always have a fantastic beer selection and do some really amazing events. I have made a lot of great connections and memories at this bar. They also really support the local beer scene. I also really enjoy the classic movies they are always playing!

I probably would have given 5 stars if the service had been a little better. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. First I actually found a beer that I really liked and I don't like beer. Oddly enough the only beer I can manage to choke down is PBR. My friend had some sour cherry beer and I tried it and was shocked! I really liked the taste and drank it down like a soda! Crazy! I actually want to go back and try another type. I hate both beer and so it's pretty amazing. Perhaps there is a drink for everyone here! I ordered a turkey club and wasn't expecting it to be too exceptional but it was amazing. When it was set down in front of me assumed the worst, hard stale tasting toast and what looked like French dressing. When I bit into it (which is hard because it's piled high with turkey) the toast was perfect (not rock hard or soggy) and whatever the orange sauce was it wasn't French dressing. It was a great sandwich with lots of flavor. My husband got the chislick which he loved. We will definitely visit again.

Awesome beers and nice service (although some staff, luckily not our server, were pretty grumpy). Excellent selection of beer. Food was good, choice of burgers/sandwiches. Good for a beer crawl through Greenwood.

Okay, the only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because the fries are good. The service doesn't even deserve one star, I mean, DAMN. I came here for my best friend's going away dinner. Literally took over half an hour to even see a server to take my drink order, and she just said, "Okay," and walked away, even though I was totes ready to order some food. It takes another half hour to see my frick'n beer, and 45 minutes to see my food. I'm not kidding. I got there at 7:00, and got my food at 8:45. She came back later and asked if I wanted another beer, and I said yes, and I never saw it. It wasn't even that busy, and there were three servers in the section. For real, top 5 worst service I've ever had at a restaurant. OH! And I actually remember now, I came here once before to get day drunk when my lady and I were having a fight, and the bartender told my friend and me to stop looking at our phones and talk to each other. Like, excuse me? Eat my shorts, lady. EAT. MY. SHORTS.

Great beers (and only beers... No hard alcohol here!) but kinda hum-drum table service. If you go to the bar you get served by a bartender pretty quickly, but for some reason my group always gets ignored when we're seated at a table, no matter how busy they are. They have an awesome outdoor patio and it's HUGE so this is a perfect gathering spot for groups in the summer. I also love their hand-cut french fries, but in all honesty they'll probably give you a heart attack. But the death will be sweet...

Food was good, service not do much. If I returned, I would probably sit at the bar. The service on the floor was very slow. But, the Fries and Siracha Aioli dipping sauce were incredible! And, the bartender comped a round of drinks for us due to the slow service. A very nice touch.

Cool space, decor, great food.... but the beers were pretty much just okay... what a bummer. My friend and I ordered the classic and rotating beer flights. Which means that we basically tried everything this brewery had on tap (12 beers) except for the guest taps. Each taster was 5 oz (woahh it's a bit too big imo) and it costs around 14 dollars per 6. It's not cheap but it's not expensive. My favorites were the black saison and summer pale ale with citra hops (sorry I cannot recall the exact names). The rest were just... meh/okay. My friend commented that their beers taste like something he brews at home and I agree lol. None of the beers had any off flavors but I thought they were too safe and a bit boring. The food though (!!!) was great. I ordered Pork loin sandwich with side salad. The buns were so yummy and the slaw was perfect. It wasn't too heavy but it had all the balance of flavors and textures. My friend ordered french fries and they looked hand cut. They were very very good. Dipping sauce looked like thousand island with a bit of heat to it. We enjoyed our stay there and our server was nice. The service was a bit slow but that was okay - it was a perfect day for sitting outside in the patio. Another good thing about this brewery is that it's really close to Chuck's Hop Shop. My friend and I walked to Chuck's and it took us about 12 mins. In summary Food, venue, and service - 4+ stars Beer - 2 stars Price - a tad bit on the expensive side

Not sure what took me so long to come to Naked City! This place is great! First of all, they offer happy hour drink specials all day on Sundays! I was really surprised how many beers they had on tap! Probably close to 20 of their own brews, and around 10 guest taps! They have their classic selection of "all the time" beers (sampler of 6 of them is $10). They also have a rotator tap list. Yesterday they had 7. ($12 for the first 6 on the rotator list, and no you can not pick and choose which to sample. It is a set list). There were a few we wanted to try and she said she could give us little tasters. (Free for a taste!) So that was awesome. We were there during the lunch special time, which is from 11:30a-5p. They offer about 5 different lunch specials that all include a pint of beer. We just wanted a snack so we both got the pretzel, which was $6. So if you do the math, it made the pretzel like .50 or $1.00 depending on the beer you choose! Good deal for sure!!! They have free movie screenings, not sure how often. But yesterday was the Indiana Jones series. It's a great idea! Cool room with a lot of seating. We got 2 lunch specials, and an empty growler for only $20! We will be back, most definitely!!

Ok so second time here. My wife had the pork belly sandwich and it was fantastic! The pretzel bun, the pork belly, and the coke slaw was over the top good. Unfortunately, I ordered the French dip. It was the worst I have ever had. The only good parts were the fries and the baguette. The beef was tasteless. The au jus worse than bland. I spit it out and stopped editing it. Thank god for the fries. And they still have a fantastic selection of beer and cider with at least one Tripel. I like this place. I will be back. I will never order the French dip again. Live and learn.

I'm not a beer drinker, so I'm not exactly this establishment's target audience. But from a food and service standpoint, it was a very disappointing evening at Naked City. My compatriot ordered a beer, while I ordered "just a water for now." We selected corn dogs and pickled fruits and vegetables for appetizers. The corn dogs were massively overcooked, and had that crustiness that whispered "reheated." And a note to Naked City: pickling doesn't mean just drowning in vinegar. There's more to it than that. I tried to order a soda when the appetizers were delivered, but didn't have a chance... our server was in and out in a flash, without looking back. When I was finally able to order one, after our appetizers were gone (or at least as picked-at as they were going to get), our server told me that they did not have limes for the diet Coke. Now, I've mentioned I'm not a beer drinker, but back when I was, I always had a lime with my beer. Do they seriously not stock limes at this place, with hundreds of beers? Or is it just not worth it to offer them to soda drinkers? I'm asking seriously. Over the course of our 70-minutes or so at Naked City, we were checked on twice. And this wasn't a hugely crowded evening; they were probably 1/3 full. So I won't be back. But if you're a beer drinker with no plans to eat, give it a shot!

This place was good, and I loved their outdoor seating area! Came here last Friday to meet up with some friends who had already settled in. Surprisingly uncrowded! Our waiter was a bit slow to come take my drink order, but I was joining my party late so it's not a big deal. I ordered a Double Cross IPA and it was good. I can't remember it well enough to comment on the specifics, but I liked it. I munched on some steak bites and fries my dining buddies had ordered. Loved the sauce that came with the steak bites, but I'm not a huge fan of pieces of steak as an appetizer in general. It was good, though. I'd like to come back her and try a full meal. I was impressed by the friendly service. As we left, our waiter was great about splitting up the check between the five of us. Much appreciated!

I have visited Naked City several times now. I have gone in the summer, winter, and special event days. The event days / in the winter get really crowded and it seems not to have enough space. Service is a bit slower and I would recommend bringing your own company. The summer days are better since half of their space is actually outside. This lets the people disperse much better and makes room throughout this establishment. Regular days are filled with friendly clienteles and a great attentive staff. The food is ok overall from what I remember (I should have Yelped the next day as I forgot) and the drinks are what they are since I am not much of a beer fan as much as I am a hard liquor fan. This is both bad and good because it rotates the people in and out of this place as they want harder goods. But, that also includes me. The location is amazingly full of bars! The area has great foot traffic and I find this location busy and fun full of college students from the near by academic options. Although there are a lot of places to visit, this is a must drop by as the people are friendly, beer is various, and service is to be had. Not a rave review, but it is what it is and I am a fan overall. Note: I think the best seats in the house are located in the main area with the bar.

Naked city is my favorite brew pub in Seattle. Top notch food and beer. They have 2 dozen beers on tap of which about half are their own. Of their classics, I highly recommend the Screening Room Red and Crossfire IPA. If available, try their Fleur d'Elise or Da Plane (both rotating taps). I come here for lunch most often and they have great lunch specials. I love their naked burger and pint! You can get salad or fries on the side, depending on how healthy your feeling ;) I also recommend their soft pretzel with a lager or pilsner style beer. The flavors go very well together. And if the food and drink were not enough to bring you in, you must check out their Walrus patio on a sunny day! Or their screening room for classic movies or sports game for big games of all sorts.

Rotating tap sampler did not disappoint. Great range from a nitro brown to a coconut keylime pils. Food excellent. We ordered the truffle salt fries and the beet burger. Both were excellent. As an added bonus we happened upon the burlesque show that was in the attached "sceening" room. Great times recommend.

  • Stephanie L.

Two words: Truffle fries! I've been here so many times and have always had a 5 star experience! I love stopping in for a beer and fries during happy hour. Talk about crispy, truffly fries! You get a huge basket for happy hour, and have little need for dinner after. The siracha mayo that comes with it is a bonus! The lemon lavender beer they've jointly brewed with Outlander is really unique, and I hope to make it back to try it again before it rotates off the tap list. The Ruben with a side salad put me over the top for fullness on my last visit, and my sister was surprised to see actual slices of anchovies on her Ceasar salad! Perhaps a little too salty to her taste, but a nice touch! I'll be back soon! I can't wait to enjoy the outdoor patio this summer!

Naked City is a great option for groups, sampling, and trying some pints from other small-batch NW breweries (including some awesome ciders). Can't speak to the food but I'm sure we'll back to try that in the future... We started with both the classic and rotating samplers. Classic had a nice mix ranging from kolsch to reds, to dark, to heavy ABV. The rotating was good too, but really maxed out on IBU's. So if you're looking to sample a wide range of hoppy or bitter, the rotating sampler would be a great choice. My only concern: too many of those hoppy beers for the time of year. I like IPA's as much as everyone else (I mean, we're in the NW), but it's mid-December. Can't we move away from some uber- hoppy beers and get a stronger selection of stouts, porters, winter ales, and darks?

I have been to naked city several times and have always enjoyed the beer, food, and ambiance. One huge bummer is I recently learned that they do not allow dogs in the outdoor area. They are one of the very few breweries that doesn't allow dogs, and seeing that I got a new puppy I may be visiting naked city a bit less.

Been here before. I'd say it's a solid brew pub with good food. But last night was lacking in service for sure. It was an hour after we ordered and other people who came in after us had eaten and already left, when we asked our server where our food was. He checked and returned to say that our ticket had been lost and our order was coming. Things happen.....he did comp us dinner & we only paid for our beers. Here's the kicker for me.....when asking if he could box up my half eaten Banh mi sandwich I said no. I said there seemed to be way too many jalapenos & was too hot to eat. He basically said that since the food was free, I had no reason to complain. Nice. I guess if you get crappy service, you keep getting crappy service. It's not a bad place, but I don't see myself going back.

Naked city is a cool brew pub. I finally found Boneyard Bone Light on tap which is SUPER RARE! Their food was good. I had a turkey sandwich with a side of salad and it was super filling and yummy.

I am redoing this review because here's a honest moment . took a trip to Seattle and I was tired and drinking most the trip. So this place wasn't bad at all. It had a chill outdoors area, the inside was pretty cool with lots going on. The wait staff was nice and kept the water coming. The only reason I subtract a star is because of the area of this bar. On a Saturday and Friday it was pretty low key. This bar is located in a very quiet neighborhood at night . they do look like they may have a concert area which may prove me wrong but my impression going to it and passing by on July 4 was quiet. This place is great for a large drink selection . plenty of room for multiple large groups and the food isnt bad for bar food .

I was in and out quick. The burger seemed a little standard along with the beer. But it isn't my style of beer. Basic good pub.

I have now been to Naked city twice and wish there were a solid 3.5 rating on the rating scale. As a vegetarian, there menu is rock solid with so many options for all us veggies--Thank you for doing this! The beer was wonderful and such a great selection. The 3.5 only rating comes more with the length of time it took to get service at the table. Don't get me wrong they were very friendly and nice, but it was a while before we were actually acknowledged as being in the restaurant and getting menus to decide what food we would have. The taphouse set up is inviting and in the summer months a nice big patio is available. Prices matched other brew houses in the area.

Really chill neighborhood restaurant and brewery. I've only been here for appetizers, but I'm a fan of the place. The people here were really nice and it's a great spot to hang and grab a drink or a bite to eat. They also have awesome outdoor seating for those nice summer days in Seattle. There's even live music sometimes too. I think that makes Naked City that much more awesome. I'll have to come back again to try more of the food/drink!

Came here on a late Friday night for some drinks and apps. We sat on their patio, which is actually pretty big with lots of communal picnic tables. I love Seattle summers because it was still warm at 10 pm. It was very relaxing to sit outside and drink a cold one. Naked City has a nice long list of beer and hard ciders on tap!! There were only about 5 hard cider selections. I tried two of them and they were both very good. A sour cherry and a grapefruit one. The sour cherry is definitely sour, but I enjoyed it. The grapefruit cider wasn't as acidic as I would have imagined. It was flowery and tame, very smooth. The waitress recommended it and she was spot on! For apps we ordered the Chislic and the Seasonal Pickled Vegetables. The chislic was good and very flavorful. It came with a roasted shallot dressing that really brought out the flavor of the marinade. The pickled vegetables weren't anything special. I just love pickled stuff so this was my selection. It was a nice compliment to my ciders. I plan to come back and try out their food menu. They seem to have a very good Happy Hour menu as well that runs M-F 3-6 pm and all day Sunday. Oh they also have corn hole on the patio! Definitely a fun thing to play with friends on a nice sunny day!

Naked City, I could never quit you. It's been a long while since I have been in, but you consistantly offer excellent beer and delicious food. Even after forever it still feels like home away from home. Although you have taken away some of my favorite offerings like the gumbo and fried pickles, you have made it up to me by offering more interesting main dishes and freakin mini corn dogs made with andouille sausage that totally made me cheat on my diet. And one of your waiters has an awesome Dark Tower tattoo and I totally had a nerdtastic moment talking with him about Stephen King and my obsession with the series. Just a great place to be. Dolly Parton sang it best: I will always love you.

A large selection of reasonably-priced beers during happy hour for $1 off? 5 stars. I had a pale ale on nitro and it was delicious. Not quite as good as a stout or amber ale that I had recently, but still good nonetheless. The basket of happy hour fries? 4 stars. These were pretty thick and deep-fried to a crunchy texture on the outside. They weren't overly-salty either, so that's a good thing. I ate a pretty good amount of them along with the ones served on the side of my burger. The Naked Burger with bleu cheese? 4 stars. Overall, not a bad burger. I'm always partial to bleu cheese, so I'm sure it made everything better. I asked for it to be cooked rare, but it seems that it was cooked medium instead. Burgers can be a little tricky to cook though...so it wasn't too big of a deal. My favorite burger place in the area is still 8 oz. burger. Good experience overall and I would come back again since it's so close and also big enough to host larger groups.

Came here with some friends on a rainy Thursday evening to blow off some steam, thinking this spot would be mellow and chill but boy was it hoppin'! I was immediately drawn by the cool patio area next to the restaurant with picnic tables, stringed lights with colorful and playful graffiti brick walls surrounding the area. They call this the "Walrus Beer Garden." Upon walking in, I knew this was to be my new adult playground. I'm not only a sucker for a brewpub, but a brewpub that brews their own delicious beer, paired with high-quality pub food in a laid back, social environment. I ordered the Naked City Brute Force IPA - nice, light and hoppy and exactly what I needed to cap off a crazy work week. Then I ordered the Naked Burger with the addition or blue cheese and bacon (cause I was feeling a little saucy). The burger was juicy but not greasy, with fresh vegetables and on a perfect rustic bun. But what was the best part and what I cannot stop thinking about since I first came to Naked City, is their hand-cut fries. They were as perfect as fries can get: golden brown, perfectly seasoned, crispy yet still soft and perfect for dipping in their siracha aoli. Though I asked for ranch (and they do not have ranch dressing for dipping...say what?!) this sauce was arguably better to accompany my fries. Definitely recommend this great neighborhood spot!

It pains me to leave such a low star review. We used to love coming here all the time, but the service has been pretty bad the last few times. Tonight was probably the worst of our bad experiences. It took 45 minutes to put in our order for beers. Because it took so long, we made sure we were ready to order our food an appetizers the next time around. Our food and appetizers came an hour later, at the same time. We were kinda bummed because our food sat on the kitchen counter for 10 minutes while they made our appetizers. And then, they just brought everything out at the same time. Our server asked us how we wanted our burger which was kinda nice. But it was another dissapoinent when it came out well done (it even had a well done mark sticking out of the burger) when we ordered it medium. But, because we'd already been there almost 2 hrs, we just stuck to it even though we let them know. I'm not giving a one star review because nobody was mean, maybe it was out of the server's control? Maybe management should consider hiring more servers for a Friday night? There was a normal and typical volume of patrons, nobody was waiting for a table. We'll have to be convinced to come back though after a few bad experiences in a row.

I've come here several times with friends. The beer flights they have are great for trying out a lot of their beers and seeing what you do and don't like. The food is decent but not outstanding and I've experienced slightly slower than average service more than once. The beer itself though is pretty darn good. This place is overall good and while they've made improvements over time they just haven't quite reached great status yet.

I had a REALLY odd experience dining here, and came away feeling not quite satisfied. I love brew pubs, I'm totally a burger and beer kinda girl on most days, so was looking forward to trying this spot out. First, the waitress was super spacey. I asked her to describe one of their beers on their menu and she said, "we have a lot of beers, I can't be expected to memorize them all." Err, ok fine, but it would have been nice if she went and asked the bartender, but she did not, instead she walked away without taking our orders. Ten minutes later, when she returned, I ordered the beer I had wanted to know more about. It was described as having "citrus tones". Turned out the citrus was grapefruit, which I was disappointed with, as it was way too strong and really killed my palate. I also ordered the pork belly sandwich, which I was really excited about, because, pork belly. However it wasn't cooked crispy and didn't have much texture, I found the unrendered fat of the pork to be an extremely unpleasant texture mixed with melted cheese, I actually spit a bite out at one point, yikes. Spotty food and service, ehh no thanks. No hard feelings, though.

Outstanding. They make their own beers onsite and carry lots of other beers and ciders on tap. The beers they make are excellent. I had a terrific Saison and a lovely Belgium Tripel (tasted like Fruitloops). My wife had a Belgium table beer that she thought was lovely. The food we ordered was very good. I had the Beet burger- made of beets and other veggie goodies. It was a nice change from your typical meat derived burger. I would order it again for sure. They have lots of gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options on the menu. Also lots of meet dishes and regular stuff- like pretzels, salads etc. Service was prompt. Lots of seating. They did have the outdoor area open- but we opted to sit inside. Naked City is a terrific brewpub that I intend on visiting again soon.

I really like this place. Amazing beer selection full of different types of beers, beer that's brewed on site and good prices to boot. Tons of stouts and porters on the menu which is always great to see. Great outdoor patio area, too. Seems to be pretty kid friendly, so if you have kids this place will be your jam. I'll definitely be back to work my way through the awesome beer menu!

Best turkey sandwich in the area. The service is always great although during busy times I found patience is a must. With around 250 seats and a kitchen not much bigger than yours, it's amazing what they can do in a tiny space. The specials are always worth trying, especially when they run a salmon burger. The beer is out this world. Crossfire and the screening room red are my favorites. Ciders are great way to start your day on a hot day in the beer garden I've found.

Wonderful brewery experience. We came on a Friday afternoon and the place was pretty deserted. It was hot and we opted to sit inside at the bar, even though the outside beer garden looks like so much fun. We got a sampler to share and some pickled veggies to snack on. Beer was really stellar and the veggies were really well executed... surprisingly so for a brewery. I don't always have the highest food expectations at breweries, but our appetizer was great and all of the food that came out from the kitchen looked really unique and tasty. We loved the old Americana films that were playing. Such a unique theme for a brewery! We talked for quite a bit with the bartender, who was really awesome and gave us some good advice about the city. We were visiting for our third anniversary. Before getting our check, we asked to purchase a pint glass. When he brought the check and our glass out, he told us that the glass was on him as an anniversary gift. So sweet! We'll come again for the tasty brews, good food, and fun movies, but what will really keep us coming back is sweet service like that. Way to go, Naked City!

Loved it! I just went here for the first time a few days ago. ** Had 2 different ciders and a flight of beer--all were delicious ** Great service--attentive without being obnoxious. Server knew the drinks & gave good recommendations. ** Nice picnic tables outside--fun way to meet other people and enjoy a beautiful day! I haven't tried the food yet, but I plan to be back! Great find!

Been coming to this neighborhood location for 6 years, and we love it. My wife's a vegetarian, I'm not, and there are lots of things we both really like on the menu (which changes seasonally). Super kid friendly, which has been amazing over the last year with the addition of our first kiddo. Great service, too.

It definitely wasn't the food that deserved one star today. In fact, my wife and I were happy with everything about our meal until dessert. After a few bites of our apple tart we noticed mold on top of it. We patiently waited for our server to return so we could point it out. We didn't want to make a big deal about it, but we did want them to know they served a moldy pastry. She was kind enough about it by offering us another one, which we declined, but after one bad dessert you don't really feel like rolling the dice a second time. I guess we should've made a bigger deal about it because their only apology about serving us mold was to remove it from our check. No removal of maybe our appetizer, or my second lemonade, just the removal of a dessert that we couldn't eat because it had gone bad. Like I said, maybe we should have made a bigger deal about it. We will not be returning to Naked City Brewery, even though we've enjoyed multiple meals there. Especially if they're expecting their customers to point out proper etiquette in matters like that.

YUCK! I've lived near Naked City for years but this is the first, and last, time I'll ever go there. My friend ordered the Andouille corn dogs and they came out fast, suspiciously fast. He said they were were cold - not even warm, probably cause they'd been sitting around for a long time until some victim asked for them. Ordered my burger medium rare with a side salad. It came out way overcooked at medium well...not even close to medium rare. The patty was shaped like a ball, so I had to keep pushing it back in the bun to get a bite of it, resulting in my hands being covered with sauce and cheese. The side salad? Not sure how it tasted, cause there were so many rotten slimey greens a week past their viability that I couldn't take even a bite of it. In short, this was DISGUSTING, and even that is putting it lightly. I was concerned about food poisoning it was so bad, but at least that didn't happen. The staff: the adjective that would describe our waitress would be 'unfriendly'. She passed our table to another guy who a) completely forgot about the mustard I requested and b) put my beer on the table at the far end instead of on the coaster in front of me. They must think they have the cool factor with silent black and white TV shows on two TVs. I found it boring. But really, the problem is the food and service. I'll give them one star for the beer selection. Oh wait, you can't give Zero stars anyway... Don't waste your Money! Those were 40 perfectly good dollars I will never have back.

We had a great time at Naked City-- our toddler included! I had the beet burger and it was delicious. I'm always thankful to have a quality vegan option. The Naked City beer was delicious-- and it is truly a miracle to be able to eat and have a beverage in an environment that is not inhospitable for little ones. The service was friendly but casual. We had a group and they took great care of us. We will be back for more! I can't wait to hang out in the beer garden for a pretzel and a beer on a nice summer day! My only thought is that it felt pretty expensive... but that's Seattle for you!

This place is really going downhill. The last couple of times we have stopped in the food has been sub-par. Last night was the worst. My husband usually gets the Field Roast bbq sandwich - it is different every time. They used to chop the field roast and mix with sauce. Now - they layer a bunch of slices and dump some cold bbq sauce on the top. Not well mixed, and causes the sandwich to be room temperature at best (should be hot). My beet burger last night was not appetizing at all. The patty itself is so massive that the inside was cold and mushy. It seems as if this place keeps trying to increase the portions rather than the quality. The waitress apologized and claimed that the kitchen was having a hard time keeping up with how busy it was. They were at about 50% capacity in the bar and patio (the screen room was closed off with all he chairs on tables). If they can't handle that number of customers then they should shrink their menu or increase their kitchen. Add to this that we had to repeatedly ask for hot sauce while the waitress was busy chatting with her friends at the table next to us. We live back in the neighborhood and were looking forward to making this a go-to spot. Probably not now. Bummer.

The food is very good! I ordered the seared Ahi tuna special with purple brussel sprouts and wild mushrooms. It was delicious! The food was a bit pricey but I didn't mind. Well seasoned, perfectly cooked fish was just what I needed. We were thankful that there was no wait and we were able to find a seat right away. They have a large selection of tasty beer and clearly pride themselves on their flagship beer, the Crossfire IPA. Overall I was very pleased and would love to return. Next time I want to try their Happy Hour and their in-house pickled veggies.

We have been to this brewery several times, and recently hosted a pre-wedding party in their screening room. Man is this place awesome!! The entire staff was so nice, and easy to work with throughout the entire process. Their chef created an amazing menu for our guests, and we were extremely happy with all of the food and drinks! We thought the price for a large group (75) was very reasonable. The screening room was an awesome venue for our guests to mingle and walk around throughout the night. Naked City helped us put on an awesome party! We will definitely be back to enjoy this great brewery in the future! Thank you!!

Two important things prevent me from giving Naked City more stars- 1. Horrid, nasty, dismissive service on the night we visited. 2. A mushroom and potato entree that was overpriced, very small and just OK. Other than these two glaring problems, the beer was good, the crowd was happy and my table mates all enjoyed their grub. My dish was the most expensive (yes, I get it, foraged mushrooms are expensive but mashed potatoes are NOT) and the smallest, and was not filling at all. The server was angry, angry at life, angry at us for ordering, eating, existing. I don't understand. If you hate serving lady, why not do something else? I'd like to return and try the other vegetarian options but frankly I'm turned off by the unprofessional service. With so many choices for beer and grub, I just can't see it happening.

This is a very good neighborhood place that is consistently better than other places nearby. I love the beet salad, and the more traditional burger, sandwich fare is quite good. The super outdoor space is becoming more popular as the spring/summer approaches. There is also a contingent involved in the sports scene that are in a separate room, which is a good thing if you don't want be to be involved, but I find myself drawn to that energy, if the sport is one of my many interests. Beers on tap are amazing and they really know about quality food too.

This place serves a good burger and fries. As others have said, make sure you visit here when you're not in a rush. Service is very slow. :( The servers are nice though. The restaurant has a nice bar feel but there is also seating for families with children. My husband tried the pulled pork sandwich which was very tasty. I had the Naked Burger, which was also good.

I was super excited to come here because it was also so packed with people. Too bad it was an incredible letdown. The customer service can't be called terrible because there was none. Never got a refill for my water or asked if I want another beer. Never asked if the food was good (it wasn't.) He took my order, brought the food, brought the bill. Barely spoke a word the entire time. So I got the naked burger. The menu says it comes with lettuce, pickles, onions, tomatoes, and lettuce. Mine came with lettuce and tomatoes. Didn't have any pickles or onions which was very disappointing. Besides that, I ordered it cooked medium and it come out well done. Plus both the top and bottom buns were burnt black. The taste was very average, nothing special at all about it but the buns really ruined it. For $12 I would rather go to red mills for a burger and onion rings. My friend got the turkey sandwich. Supposedly comes with cranberry relish. It had 1 piece of cranberry. 1/2 a piece for each half. But for $13??? The price to portion ratio was terrible. The greens that came with it wasn't prepared properly either. It came completely in whole leafs, each one the size of a palm. Her bread was also burnt black which of course, doesn't taste good. Panera makes better sandwiches. Did I leave a tip? Absolutely not. I didn't get any service. I didn't get good food. I didn't even get the food that I ordered or get it how it is advertised on the menu! Why should I have left a tip? I absolutely will not come back here. No service with a bad chef makes it a terrible place to eat.

This place is my jam (in the Greenlake area) and here's why: - there's a good selection of beer, not just NCB's - it's not loud, you can have a conversation - there's different types of space: bar, tables, casual tables in the screen room, and at least one couch - the screen room features older movies (muted normally), chaplain, rat pack, Heston, etc. - some night has live music - service is great What I can't talk about is the food. I've eaten here twice (and this one isn't one of those times) but I don't remember anything good or bad about the experience. I guess that means middle of the road which is important to mention because it doesn't equal my appreciation for the beer selection and vibe. I'm not often in Greenlake, but when I am, I do naked city.

I've been here once before and finally made it back to check out the stellar brews but I'm sad to say that it would be my last visit as both times I've been in I've had rude waitresses. What a shame to seek out a gem of a place with great beer to only have a bad experience.

The beer is amazing. My waitress, the girl with the dinosaur tats, was sweet and awesome, and very attentive, unlike past experiences I have had here. The food however, is always hit or miss. I ordered the fritters. They were basically balls of uncooked, rubbery dough that were burnt on the outside and had little to no seasoning. I couldn't taste the apple, or the cheese. I ordered fries to replace them. I tried getting a sandwich, but it was equally disappointing. The chicken was dry, drenched with a sauce that left much to be desired-- far too sweet and impossibly cumbersome to eat with the dry, huge baguette, and the salad was barely dressed. I didn't complain about that part to my server, because she'd probably already had a difficult night dealing with our table. I expected to be comped for the fries, because I couldn't even eat the terrible fritters, but apparently the acting manager here isn't familiar with basic restaurant f**k up ettiquite, because you generally comp the item you replace it with, too. He was extremely rude, and said things like, "You aren't entitled to free food." No, I'm not, but I'm entitled to a satisfactory experience, because that's what you're selling to me. And when you fail to offer a satisfactory product, you compensate for the product you failed to deliver. It's what, six dollars? How much is the mark-up? They're fries. I'd be more understanding if it was something complicated to make. Won't be coming back to a place that can't even own up to their mistakes. Congrats, NCT, you just lost one of your new regulars.

Food was decent. Service...well I could literally purge a turd that would be more helpful in serving you. Waited about 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge our existence. Had to get our own menus. Ordered from the bar, where he was clearly annoyed at our attempt to do so. Another 10 for our so called waitress to make her grand appearance at our table after we already had ordered. She made one more stop at our table. I don't count the two times she gave an odd head nod which might have been a feeble attempt at asking how our food was. Needless to say, I won't be back. Her shirt said Whatever, so my tip was well, WHATEVER.

Food ok, beer good. I ordered the chicken leg and I was expecting something different. Although the chicken was good, the sweet potato didn't taste like sweet potato.

I've been here a couple of times over the last month. Both times the food was great (especially the truffle salt fries), the service friendly, and the beer excellent. The servers know their beer and can provide useful recommendations. The outdoor seating is well laid out and set back from the road, allowing for conversation to take place. All in all, this is a great place.

I love this place, I love it so much I keep dropping off my resume and they keep not calling me, lol. It's a casual up beat place, the staff is cool, the food is hot. They play movies there, have bands, lots of great local art as well.

  • S L.

LOVE the outdoor seating, what a great place to go when the weather is nice. This place has a great neighborhood feel as it's not just young folks but also families from the area who gather around the large picnic tables. We wandered in on a Thursday evening and the place was full but not packed, the communal seating works well since there's a variety of folks getting either drinks, apps, or full on meals. The sandwiches and fries looked amazing but we had a pretzel, corn dog, and salads. The corn dogs were great, pretzel was nice, Caesar salad was half wilted half fresh... but understandably this is more a place for pub-food... Good beer selection obviously, the serving of wine per glass looks huge but the house red tasted almost watered down. Not a fan of the ipod/iphone ordering system, it makes me feel as though the waiter/waitress is snubbing you since they are looking down and barely making eye contact. I would go again and order a sandwich next time, yum.

I want to give Naked City 5 stars, but I didn't quite get that 5 star review feeling while I was there. The food was good, and a some great local brews. The atmosphere did not bowl me over. The patio was good, but pretty basic and just a bunch of large tables. It was very family friendly, as there were kids everywhere during the time I was there. Overall, I liked the place and plan to return when I get a chance

Decent beer but the food is just horrible. The chicken had pizza sauce dumped over it and it was practically inedible. It's like something I'd make to clean out the pantry

Strangely enough, i really like the food. That's the only thing that keeps me coming back. My experiences have all gone the same. Come in, seat myself. Be ignored by every employee that walks by for 15mins. Get up and get my own menu. Then after staring down someone, they come take my order. I always try to be ready with my entire order. And for the rest of your visit its the flag down game. Uhhhh I come for the food.... that is all....

Had lunch here for the first time on Sunday.Had the Stout to start with then the Porter with the Naked Burger an it was great. The bacon an cheese were extra but I say go big or go home. By the way the Burger was great.Service was great with either indoor or outdoor seating an YES I will go back even from Federal Way

Naked city has big open spaces and a wide selection of food and drinks for every diet and taste! However, I was not impressed by the atmosphere, service or their beer. The indoor space is a little grungy, the outdoor space is almost nice. Despite the mural, I still feel like I'm in a parking lot. Maybe some more greenery would help? Mostly I'm knocking off two stars for consistently disappointing vegetarian food. My friends and I have given them multiple opportunities to get the food right due to the variety of veggie options on their menu that keep tempting us back, but they never taste good! This time I had the walnut loaf sandwich and it was way too mushy and salty. Their limp side of fries weren't anything special, but I like crunchy. Why don't they beer batter them? Hot pretzel was pretty good though!

  • Nick H.

I love Naked City's brews. They have two different IPA's and I have a hard time deciding which one I like more! So usually I end up ordering a Brute Force, then a Crossfire. Then a Brute Force, then a Crossfire. Then a Brewt Forse and Crossfir. Den a Broot Horse an a Crawfish... an den I pass out. Naked City always has something new and interesting on tap and they've got some great guest beers and ciders too. The food is good, the service is great and I love that they show classic black and white films on the TV.

I've been here 4 or 5 times now... and the last two visits were disappointing. last night it was busy, so we had slow service (25 min. for a basket of fries, all-told, 2 hours for burgers for 4 of us)... and inconsistent food. I usually have the pork sandwich, but decided to switch it up and ordered a burger. it tasted a little strange, possibly because it was mixed with something? dunno. but it was with me allll night long and didn't sit well. my fries were 25% not edible (don't like dark brown massively crunchy fries). my guy is a beer man, I'm not, so I'm wishing they'd keep OJ on hand for mimosas (probably asking too much) because it'd be nice to have another option besides just vino, since they serve bubbly anyway. skip the chocolate cake... ours was not fresh. i'll be back. . . but i'll be keeping my fingers crossed for better service and grub.

We go here pretty regularly because we live in the neighborhood. Good beer selection, good atmosphere, and great for us because they allow kids in one section of the restaurant. Extra great in the summer because of the outdoor beer garden. The service has always been good in our experience - the staff seem friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, despite menu changes over the years and us continuing to give it a chance, I can't say much for the food. It is ok. We still go there so obviously it's not terrible. But, the dishes I've gotten have often been bland, or the texture is poor (soggy when should be crispy), or lacking in substance (e.g. a thick roll sandwich filled with... not much). Yes, we will go back because of the beer and family-friendly aspects. We will eat the food because it's what's available. But I wish they could make some improvements - we will continue to have our hopes up!

    (3)
  • Kristen U.

I live in the neighborhood and have eaten here at least a dozen times with my son. I wish they had more family seating and a better method of seating than just stand by the door and hope a table opens up. During the summer the outside seating is open and is pretty great for young ones. I like to play the board games available with my son while we wait for our food. The specials are usually very good, the most memorable was the lions mane risotto, and it was very tasty. Who knew risotto at a brewery would be good! I give them a lower score just because of the seating issue and it takes forever to get your food, so don't come starving. But do come:)

Great beers and staff. Just don't expect consistency with the food they make. Usually too much dressing or not enough. Perfectly cooked chicken or jerky. Always fun to wonder how the food will be cooked today. Great place for beer.

Such a Greenwood gem. I wish it was more popular, I feel like people think it' off the beaten brewery path (read: not in Georgetown/Ballard). The place has killer beer selection, delish food, and a chill friendly atmosphere. You can check out what beers they're pouring before you go! Brilliant. Let's go back to "delish food." Sometimes breweries and bars can get away with fried greasy fare because drunk people will eat almost anything (I've served it and seen it). So places that emphasize beer think it's perfectly acceptable to put melted Velveeta on store-bought chips and call them nachos, defrost a Sysco pretzel or slap together microwaved sandwiches in the back. Managers know people aren't going to call it dinner, or fill up beer space in their bellies with with food, so why try? This is not the case here at Naked City. My chicken salad I had here deserves it's own paragraph in this review. It was that good. That fresh, that juicy, that flavorful. This is at a brewery, folks. Take note. Other times I've enjoyed their sweet potato fries, their pretzels with stone ground mustard, and their well-crafted sandwiches. All top notch and delicious. Think of this place as a solid restaurant with a wonderful beer selection, rather than just a brewery!

  • Brigid T.

Love this place. The food is always good and the beer selection changes almost daily. You can order tasters of their beer, so you can try them all. I love their burger and beer lunch special. Their burgers are fresh and cooked to order. I've been here before for food and I've never been disappointed. Also, their outdoor patio is awesome in the summer. Parking is a pain, but not a big deal. You may have to circle the block for street parking.

My first revies was back in 2009, and now it's 8/2014. Man has this place improved in the few years they've been here. Beers were ALWAYS good in my book, but the food offering at the beginning was, well...boring, and most un-inspired if you will. Today, (8/2014), the food is great. Nice assortment, something for meat eaters, salad lovers, light snacker's, on and on. Even the gluten free crowd can find something to select from now. Nice.

Decent food, fairly good beer selection, adequate service. Great outdoor patio! Nice place to grab a bite to eat in the summer, but not my go-to in the Greenwood area. Quality french fries!

The food here is great and the service is wonderful! Why three stars? Neither my hubby or I have EVER had a beer from their brewery that we liked. They frequently seem to taste like plastic, sort of like water from the hose. I love that there are so many vegetarian options, I love the always changing art on the wall and the black and white movies that they play. I just don't like the beer. I recommend grabbing a meal and a guest beer any night of the week.

  • Todd L.

Great beer selection. The food can be a bit hit-or-miss, and I've found the service to generally be pretty 'meh'. I'll keep going back for the beer, but would likely go somewhere else for dinner.

Naked City Brewery is a great place to relax after a long day. The tap house has a good food selection, decent prices and wonderful beers that you can only find at Naked City! Service is personable, friendly and it is clear the team works hard to provide great service. The outdoor seating area is wonderful when Seattle weather is cooperating. No complaints about Naked City at all. The happy hour corn dogs also have the best breading I have ever had on a corn dog, worth every penny!

The Naked City Tap House is a an excellent spot to buy a local brew in the Greenwood neighborhood. Naked City has a large beer selection, which is made up of 50% their own beer and 50% other local NW Beers. The service is great and friendly. They will happily let you try several different beers before settling on the one you're going to enjoy that evening. The decor is very warm and fun. They have bar and table seating. Plus, during the summer, you can enjoy their large dining patio that opens up to Greenwood. The one thing Naked City could improve on is the menu and food quality. It is about what one would expect for pub food. Nothing amazing but it will do the job if you're starving. I would never want them to sacrifice their beer for food--so if they can't do both--stick to the beer. If you're into local craft beers this is the place for you.

I debated between 3 and 4 stars, went with 4 because the beers are awesome, almost all local and constantly rotating. Finding one you love makes you want to come back day after day to be sure it's still there! However the food... Someone else said "faux upscale" and they are spot on. I like that they have some semi healthy options, but the execution is rather underwhelming. We pass it up for dinner pretty often even though we love the beer and its walking distance from our place. Too bad, wish I could love it.

ok - I think that they really do have their hearts in the right place. The mushroom dish is gone, and there's a couple of different veggie food options. I've still not yet found my favorite though. The bbq field roast is pretty good, but I'm still waiting for the "to die for" veggie option. I know they can do it. an extra half star for effort. more research required. I'll keep trying. the beer and wine are excellent.

Naked City is by far my most favorite place to hang out in Seattle. Not just for the amazing, ever-changing beer selection but for the incredible food. The menu is exceptionally vegetarian friendly-- try the BBQ Field Roast. It's outstanding! Great service too. If you love beer, you need to try Naked City.

If beer is your thing, than you have arrived at your destination. Having something like 24 Northwest beers on tap as well as a plethora of imports to choose from, Naked City Tap house is a connoisseur's dream come true. I hear they will soon be serving their own beers sometime in the not so distant future too. They also have numerous regional wines for those of you who don't dig on malted hops. The bar is really nice and so is the staff. It's hard to believe you're still in Greenwood being inside this fine establishment. Perhaps a sign of things to come? Hmmm? We'll see. Me? I have to admit, I just assume drink PBR when I'm out drinking beers. There are a few beers that I've acquired a taste for, but really, most micorbrews are just way too heavy and bitter for my unrefined pallet. These fancy beers are lost on me, and when it comes down to drinking a beer for $2 a can or $6 a pint, three PBRs sound way better to me. Unfortunately, you won't find a Pabst in this house. Oh well, I guess I can always scamper on down to the Baranof if need be.

  • Sam L.

Great place - surprised to find that the place was packed on Monday night. The good thing is it's a sign of how well they are doing. The bad thing is the service is a bit spotty: I could see they're overwhelmed. Got a delicious Deschutes Black Butte XXI (a kind of porter). The food menu is a bit upscale, and reasonably priced. I had an Italian slider which is quite tasty.

I love love LOVE Naked City. My boyfriend finally got me drinking beer about two years ago, but I sort of skipped that college phase that's all PBR and Kokanee. I like good beer. Unfortunately, good beer is surprisingly hard to find in Seattle. Then along came Naked City. The service sort of varies depending on who's working and how busy it is, but I'm generally really happy with it and I feel quite welcome. There's one gal in particular (I think her name is Elise?) who is always willing to talk about the beer and suggest new delciousness. She's never steered me wrong. In fact, she pointed me to the Duchesse and Oud Beersel Framboise AND Poppering's Hommel, all my current faves. Food's alright, I kind of wish there was more to the appetizer menu, but the beer more than makes up for it. That's what I really come here for anyway. Keep it up, Naked City! I'm pickin' up what you're throwin' down.

Naked City is a great spot for delicious beers and good times. It's a fun and inviting environment with very friendly service. Their rotating draft list is awesome - it's always a good time to try out new beers. I haven't tried much of their food, but their giant pretzel with mustard sauce is so good, and just completely hits the spot after you've had a couple beers. They also have a nice small variety of wines for those of you who prefer it over beer. One of my most favorite things about Naked City is their changing art displays on the wall. Yesterday there were wonderful surrealist and fantastical snowmen paintings up that provoked much admiration and conversation. I wanted to take one home with me. They accommodated my birthday group which was over 10 people and everyone had a great time. I will keep coming back to Naked City! Thanks for helping make my birthday a blast!

Pro: Fantastic tap selection. Solid pub fare. Big comfortable space. Con: Pub fare is a bit pricey for quality. If the beer wasn't here, the food wouldn't be nearly enough to draw me in. Nutshell: I love beer, ergo, I love Naked City.

I love this place. Start with the fact I can walk here with my girlfriend and count on having a fun filled evening with good atmosphere and great beer selection. Top that off with a staff that is extremely knowledgeable and friendly puts us here regularly. I've dragged in friends who can't just walk here and they love it and now make the drive to get here. Rotating taps also keep it interesting. If you don't know what you want to drink ask for a recommendation the staff will certainly offer excellent descriptions and help you find a great glass. Definitely give it a shot, you'll come back.

For a beer only bar, I'll give it to them. They could have a great thing going. Stopped in early on a Saturday night, and had a beer each and ordered the fabled cheese plate. Cheese plates in Seattle help to grade establishments in my view b/c what is more important to a drunkard than the food they must consume to keep them selves from falling outside or vomiting on the sidewalk. I was underwhelmed with their cheese plate, to say the least. Cheddar I could have taken right out of my fridge. About a teaspoon of some stinky blue cheese, a very thin slice of run of the mill brie, and something very Parmesan-ish. Pair that with about 1/8th of a pear, and some stale crouton things and I just wasn't impressed. Im hoping they branch out their selection and use some different cheeses... b/c everything else on their food menu is pretty plain. Overall, good place for a beer. But alas, I am not a beer drinker by nature. So of course, when all is said and done, I ended up at the Baranof. :)

Interesting venue. Great rotating taps, but it sucks if you find something you love because next week it wont be there. However you can monitor their rotation on-line to see whats coming up. The sausage sandwich was good and the Beecher's cheese plate generous, so was the Bavarian meats plate. They are still updating their kitchen so I'll be going back to see how the small menu expands. I would describe it as a bar with bites. It is bright with floor to ceiling windows that look on to Greenwood. You have to root for these young guys starting up their own business and following their passion. I am happy to give them my patronage!

Looking for a good craft local beer? Need a Beer served with some good sandwich? You know your beer, but want to try something new and unique? Stop by at naked city and I bet you wont be disappointed. Me being a beer and meat lover was already in love with this place for a long long time but lately all my vegetarians friends are impressed too because of the # of options this place has to offer for them. You need to try the 21st amendment IPA which is being served these days. the place may get busy... i dont mind eating and sipping my beer at the bar table so not a problem for me... I have no complains with the place other then the location as its not too convenient for me... i wish it was some where in belltown or downtown area.... but then the best of them are always a lil away from the city isnt it?

The beer is good, above average and definitely worth drinking. Unfortunately with the service you are likely to die of thirst sitting at your table. The food was uninspired, bland and boring. Our dishes came out fairly quickly, brought out by the bus boy as the server couldn't be bothered to to be pulled away from her friends, but my sandwich was not worth neither the price nor the short wait.

Great beer selection, nice ambiance, friendly staff and good vegetarian food selection. Though I just got a pretzel, the cheddar mustard dip was amazing. I really liked that the menu had listed "(V)" which indicated items are vegetarian...this is something very subtle, but I wish most restaurants would do. We went on a Friday night and it wasn't too loud, so we were able to have conversation without yelling over loud music or drunks. I will certainly be back here to sample more beers and try some more of the food.

Holy beer selection. I wouldn't normally have come here as it's nowhere near where I live but our friend who is a brewmaster by profession called us out. When he says beer, we say go. Beers were great, service was quick and he had beer recommendations if asked, though he was otherwise not very chatty. Sandwich was pretty good but nothing memorable. Nice space, clean bathrooms, will come back for beer next time someone wants to be my designated driver!

I first tried the Naked City Tap House shortly after it opened. The beer selection at that time was solid, but their menu options really left a lot to be desired. I admit that at the time, I wasn't compelled to come back any time soon. Thankfully, a recent visit has changed my assessment. The beer list is long and stellar (though I'd appreciate more global variety on tap), and their menu has some welcome additions, including vegetarian sandwich options that make me wish they were open for my weekday lunch! Naked City is a great place to visit in Greenwood when you want to bring a few friends and try some challenging and interesting beers from all over the world. I

What a wonderful gem I have stumbled upon. Took my wife here for dinner and a beer (the new date thing, forget a movie). Sat at the bar and the bartender was really knowledgeable and offered to suggest a drink from the tap. Very broad selection, and I applaud the place for not wasting a tap on any bud/coors/miller product. A+++ guys, keep it up! OH, and the bacon wrapped dates are incredible.

I'm a sucker for any brewery with landjager and soft pretzels on the menu. I mean... let's be real: sausage, bread, and beer?! It doesn't get much better. The food was great. The service was fantastic. The beer was delicious. We WILL be back!

I picked this place randomly to meet my two girlfriends for happy hour on a Tuesday night, and I totally scored! Turns out they have a local brewery featured the first Tuesday of every month, that comes for the night with several of their beers on tap, hands out raffle tickets for every beer you order, and gives a quick speech about their brewery followed by a drawing for prizes. This time it was the Chuckanut Brewery in Bellingham. The owners were super laid back but excited about their beer, and I won a sweet pint glass, filled up for free! It was pretty packed because of the event, but the bartender said most weeknights bring in "beer nerds" which could be a good or bad thing depending on who you are. Weekends are supposedly pretty busy but the place is big enough that I don't see that as a negative. The only thing that kept me from a 5 Star review was the food. I had a cheesy polenta bake thing and my friends had squash soup and salad. Not bad, but not amazing, and the menu was pretty small. I will absolutely be back, and might have to make the brewery nights a monthly tradition.

My favorite bar in the neighborhood. Huge selection of rotating beer and pretty decent food!

This was a highly anticipated opening for me--a high quality beer snob paradise just a stone's throw from my most humble abode? Say it ain't so!!! I could spend hours here but I refrain--it would be a sloppy, messy crawl home and I'd find myself littered amongst the rubble of Lelani Lanes. They have some amazing rare beers here with the focus on locally-grown brews that just need a stage upon which to perform. Soon they'll unveil their in-house brews (mostly of the belgian & bock styles) and I'm looking forward to that. With a serious attention to the finer beers, I'm sure their brews will be excellent. You will pay a premium price for many of the beers, but that's the price of love, so to speak. I have not tried any of their food, and I would guess that the menu is a process still in development. The ambiance really doesn't fit the Greenwood vibe all that well, but I overlook the self-important hipster music track and focus on the beer in my sight and the conversation in my ear. Anyone in the mood for a surprising amble through a forest of kind beer should duck in here for a couple. It'll be worth the stop.

I'm here now, it's opening night! 25 local Washington beers on tap, including the Bellingham classics of Boundry Bay; try their Scotch. (And I quote my buddy here, "I love Boundry Bay... I wanna make sweet passionate love to Boundry Bay") Talked to one of the owners, Don, who's passionate about beer and has set aside a few hundred sqft of room to brew some Naked City brew. The bartenders only have one register to work from, but they're doing great and made some great recommendations tonight. Full kitchen but tonight they have a small menu. Something called pickled hop shoots, I'm sure they're awesomelicious,

When i came here it was like around 1pm. Naked City have an chill enviroment when i was there. I haven't gone here during the night scene yet. The staff was pretty chill. They do have alot of selection of beers here so that good for beer drinkers. I have to come back here to try there food. hehe :-)

I've been going here since it opened. When it opened, it was a 4 star place with the beer selection being the high point. It has become a solid 5+ star taphouse. The beer selection has maintained a world class status and the food has improved to the point that I crave it. Their vegetarian selections are the tastiest in town. My wife, the vegetarian, is now able to experience the joy of a BBQ sandwich which I would rate very high compared to the pool of meatatarian ones I've had. They even have a great vegetarian meatball sub. Their Hazelnut Burger sounds a bit kooky but it all comes together beautifully. The atmosphere has come a long way since opening. Great rotating artist galleries on the walls. The unused tap handles are displayed prominently. The staff is always informative and friendly. Of course the beer. What can I say? Amazing selection, mainly of Northwest micros, and a good selection of beers from other places in the world. I think they offer at least 3 of their own beers brewed on the premises. It's a MUST visit destination for any beer aficionado or vegetarian coming to visit Seattle.

I really enjoy this place. I especially like the cider options, and the various vegetarian options on the menu. Service is always great. I also enjoy the fact that they have sports programs on, but on silent. You can enjoy the big games but not in a loud, rowdy atmosphere. Check it out!

Naked City is part of the "Holy Trifecta of Beer" for me, of which the other members are Beveridge of West Seattle and Brouwers of Fremont. So, I"m going to assume in the rest of this review that you are here for the beer. Their eternally rotating taplist never fails to have a large assortment of interesting, tasty, and strong beers here. Food is at least one notch above what you would expect from a beer-focused place, its not the main thing but you won't be disappointed by it. On a quiet night, you could easily chill here and play a card game, while on the weekends this joint gets incredibly packed -- often standing room only. Visit accordingly.

the food was nothing to write home about. but definately yelp-worthy. mainly sandwiches that are too small and not that flavorful. i had a sandwich but i can't remember what. that speaks for itself. i do remember that it was overpriced though. there's lots of beers on tap, which is good. the servers kept getting our orders wrong. they either forget what we had or kept popping up with wrong dishes. it was probably just a bad day. the space is nice. bring your magic: the gathering cards and cast spells while trying one of every beer. fun for you, but maybe not your girlfriend. eat somewhere else and just come here for the beer. everything was wrong about this restaurant but the beer gives this place 2 stars. if the food was delicious or consistant, maybe they'd be rated highter.

you really can't beat an all day happy hour on sundays . . . the massive selection of beers are $1 off which makes the deeeeeeeeeeeeelicious naked city porter only $3.50. i highly recommend pairing it with the reuben to cure all your hangover woes. and about that reuben . . . one of the best ever. so good i will be dreaming of it tonight. my only beef with it (thus minus one star), i sort of wish they had fries or something. even potato salad would have been better than the 'salad' paired with the sandwich. it was totally weak. just lettuce and a bit of dressing. that and there are too many babies and pregnant chicks. what is up with the babies at naked city? does it double as a daycare on sundays? do babies like beer too? so i suppose if i had kids, i may have given this place 5 stars . . .

I LOVE THIS F*ING PLACE! Go if you ever have the chance. Beer list always has something on it for everybody and if you don't find something on tap try the bottle list or wine list, both great. Food is generally good but I go for the beer and my love affairs with April, Aurora, Corinna and Rick. Love you guys!

  • Nicholas W.

This place just has the feeling of a great beer bar. Service was great, and the food was above average. Since this is a brewery they focus on their own beer but they have plenty of other taps. Also they do a great job of updating their taplist online.

  • paul b.

Place rules....big time! Gets a little busy for me sometimes, but their beer is ultra tasty and they have a huge assortment of other brewers. Food is on hit, and I hear they are getting a fryer, so hopefully this will lead to grass fed burgers on the menu.

Fun relaxed atmosphere that well, you can just hang out in alone or enjoy with friends. Best variety of vegan food in a pub I've ever seen. Look forward to going back soon. Next time I'll try meat and bump the *STAHH*

My fiance and I have been looking forward to visiting this place for months. The first few days after the grand opening, we tried to get in but the place was completely packed so we had to go somewhere else. A few days later, we were finally able to swing by to sample their beer since the place was really quiet. They had a good selection of beer on tap so that was just what we had hoped for. However, the ambiance was a little flat and the decor was so-so. We were hoping to also get something to eat their but their food menu was extremely limited so we decided to skip the food, finish our beers and head on over to another restaurant nearby for a real dinner. As much as we'd like to return to this establishment since we live really close by and enjoy good beer, we probably won't go back there again anytime soon. We're both foodies and enjoy a good meal with some great beer/wine but unfortunately, this place is a little lacking in terms of the food department.

Nice looking space with a good (and rotating) draft selection. They also make some of the best sandwiches around.

3 stars at the moment, I haven't written the place off so my opinion may change. When it comes to a watering hole, I like this place, although it is a bit small and the divider running down the middle of it makes it feel smaller. They could probably do with a better standing counter arraignment. It is nice and light and although many may feel it is cold, it just isn't cave-like and that may be a good thing. Great beer selection, just what that neighborhood needed. Very nice staff. Talkative when slower, attentive even when busier. WTF are they thinking with that "food"? Before you pick up that menu and order anything, take a gander into the "kitchen" (you can't miss it, it is that large brightly lit closet at the end of the bar). When you don't see much more than a microwave, possibly a hotplate, a mini-fridge, and a dishwasher, don't order. Learn from my mistakes. I understand that they are going through "revisions" with the menu, but there is only so much you can do without a proper kitchen. Either serve actual food, or don't.

While I'm usually quite resistant to change (mama likes things *just* the way they are!) I totally welcome change in the form of mass quantities of rotating taps at Naked City :) I appreciate that they have spotlights on local breweries as well! Yay, local! The food is really good but the menu could definitely stand to have a couple extra items for selection. The food is mostly pub fare's fancy older sister that eats really healthily and drives a zippy car. The waitstaff is generally super attentive and patient as well! Whooo hoo!

    (4)
  • Atif M.

The beef skewers were really tasty and so were the bangers and mash. The chimichurri on the skewers was flavorful and added to the taste of the beef. I really like that they have so many different beers on tap. Once you add in the happy hour to the great beer selection and good food that is where the 5 stars come from.

I love the additional space at Naked City. They have a huge screen with old movies playing, a comfortable couch area, larger tables to accommodate bigger parties and it has a very relaxed feel to it. We had the pleasure of meeting Brian Miller the manager and he was great! He even jumped in to help out with doing dishes when they got busy. If you want great beers and a great experience pop into Naked City! Oh yeah and the pulled pork sandwich was awesome! Thanks for the suggestion Brian.

UPDATE: so after my not-so-good day at the pillagers pub, I ditched the family and headed accross the street to try Naked City again. WOW!!! They have made leaps and bounds. The food menu looked great, had a couple of apps, the beer line up was absolutely freakin AWESOME! They have some decorations up on the wall and the staff was great! They completely blew me away. I will for sure come back, this is going to be my new hang-out!! So just as everyone else has already stated, nice new place in Greenwood. The beer list is fantastic. All my favorites and more are there. The bartenders are knowledgable and happy to answer questions and sample small tasters if you are curious about a certain beer. ----------------old review------------------------- So why 2 stars. 1. The food menu is terrible. There is no food. It seems they have dedicated so much space in their establishment for a kitchen but don't produce anything. I mean the chicken strips and chips for a childrens plate is like 8 bucks and is sooooo small and tiny. PLEASE get some real food, there is no other places to eat pub food in the area, can't you see that? 2. Atmosphere. It is stark, loud and cold. Very uninviting and unfortunately dosen't make you want to stay very long. Cold, dark, echo-ee, concrete. I have seen more comfort in a Jiffy Lube waiting room. Hopefully these things will get fixed and I can return to spend my money. Until then, there are lots of other places to head to.

Pretty good so far! We came in here for a meeting and I am really not a beer drinker. I told the server what I was aiming for and she brought me a nice match. We also ordered some apps, the pretzel with beer cheese...so gross, but my Husband liked it. Then there was the Chislic (marinated beef cubes with a side of shallot aioli) Fantastic! I would come back any day of the week for the Chislic alone. Well done Chef!

One of my favorites on Greenwood and it's def one of the best bars in Greenwood by far! Great beer selection and I love their pretzel. Haven't tried much of their food yet I'm still getting over the awesome atmosphere and cider.

Amazing, ever changing beer selection. Great variety & quality. Probably my favorite bar (for beer) in Seattle. Gets pretty crowded at times (evenings/weekends).

What I like about this place: the beer selection (very good,), the ability to bring my kiddo and the pretzel and sauce. The food, otherwise, is just so-so--nothing at all special in the two times that we have visited and probably a little overpriced. The service has been friendly. I'll probably go back for a beer and pretzel, but I won't be looking for a meal.

wow terrible service from one of my favorite bars. not sure why but my friends and I were turned away the other night. Rude Service, with terrible bartenders. I still love the beer selection :( don't get me wrong I love what naked city has to offer, with all there great taps. I just really had a bad experiece this past weekend. I went in with a group of friends around midnight, telling them about how much I liked the place they were interested in checking it out. So we go in grab a table and wait and have a look to see what we are going to get. A few moments later a waitress comes over and rudly asks for our ID's which is no real issue, we show them willingly and then she storms off before taking oiur orders. I then go to the bar to order a drink and the bartender refuses to serve me and my friends??? We had not had a drink before we showed up or anything..... kind of turned my friends off of ever going back. maybe me too.

Drinks were cool , Since I don`t know alot about beer . the dude helped me out . I got a really nice loger out of bellingham . I will be going back !!! Soon ..

Came in a bit before midnight on a Sat for a beer. Staff was...unfriendly. Waitress refused to serve us at our table because we had started our tabs at the bar or some silly business. Had one beer and left. Only reason I gave the place two stars was because the beer was good. Menu looks delicious, but won't go back anytime soon.

I've followed the start up of this company and they know quality and are dedicated to providing the best service possible. They have always produce their product to the highest standard possible and I would consider them to be very talented in their field. They have ideals and the families visiting are in for a treat.

This spot has become a regular once a week place for my friends and I. I really enjoy the various types of beer they have on tap. At first it was a bit overwhelming how many beers there actually are on their list. If you see a beer you like, it may not be there the next time you come in. They rotate the taps as the kegs are emptied. I have had a few of their sandwiches which were tasty, but i normally have a few beers and a warm pretzel.

Great atmosphere. Fabulous local beer selection. The staff was very helpful and even let me sample several beers to find my favorite. TI would definitely be a regular here if I lived in Seattle.

All I can say is stay away from server/bartender 'Rick'. He is bad. I travelled 50 miles to have my growler filled, but he said that the keg "was only half-full, and they could not accommodate my request." Excuse me? I wasn't asking for a half-keg, just a growler fill. Sadly, I was turned away. And so was his tip.

This is the place for beer lovers. They brew their own beer, and it's pretty darn good stuff. Besides that, they carry a whole lot of other interesting and delicious beers on constantly rotating taps. They even have beer-soaked food on the menu. This is one of the few places in town where it's guaranteed that there several beers I haven't tried before, and considering how much beer I drink, that's not an easy feat. The food is good, they make their own sauces and dressings and buy good, local, fresh, ingredients, and have fun stuff on their menu like pickled hop vines and landjaeger sausage, and they always have at least a couple good vegetarian options on the menu (even though I'm not vegetarian, I appreciate this). I've been here dozens of times and have always tried something new and great; easily one of my favorite go-to beer bars.

I like this place to hang out with my boyfriend but today my naked burger was dry as hell I felt like eating 98% lean ground beef patty and fries were soggy. I should've sent it back but I didn't lol because I was so starving for waiting my burger for almost 40mins...... I guess I might sometimes drink beers here but I definitely will not order food.

Ok place with no feel. Service is not good even at the bar. Requested hockey for a channel and the bartender basically didn't want to try. May come back again to try food but it's tuesday and fell unwanted.

I love Naked City's rotation of Hard Ciders. It's perfect when I'm not in the mood for Beer or Wine. Cider hit's the spot every time! The atmosphere is great and the food and beer menu is even better. Check em out!

Been there twice.... first time the service was good, but our server had ZERO personality. Never even smiled. Sandwiches were really good. Second time there, only drank beer - service was super attentive and beer was really good... except, not a big fan of the Hole in One IPA - blech. Love the atmosphere and clientele - the ladies working last Saturday night were on it!

In a very short time this has become one of the top beer bars in Seattle, and that is saying something. The owners are truly knowledgable about their offerings and will be able to tell you a story about it. The thing that I really love about this place is that they are willing to go out of their way to fin you the things you cant find elsewhere. They have driven across the state to buy one keg so that they can serve you a WA beer that you couldnt get otherwise. They were the first in Seattle to get Chuckanut, because they hopped in the car and drove to Bellingham to get it for you. From the first day I walked in, it seemed that this was a place that did everything right. First class all the way. I am really looking forward to the beer they will be brewing on site, as I have enjoyed the collaborations they have done thus far. All in all, you cant go wrong any night of the week by stopping by Naked CIty.

A killer Beer Bar, great tap selection as well as a great bottle list. They are also going to start brewing here soon as well! perhaps a bit on the pricey side but for the selection it is hard to miss. (Pliny, Victory, good stuff!)

  • Sara L.

I really like this place. Friendly neighborhood bar feel, and it never gets so crowded and loud that you can't hear each other talk. I've been here twice now, and have never had the same beer twice -- and all of them are delicious! It's a little pricier than my usual budget, but totally worth it for a treat. I had the Aurorable Sliders (yummm) and a pretzel (the mustard sauce is amazing), and they have an amazing selection of both draft and bottled beer. I love also how the beer list changes every day. If I lived close by, it'd probably be my new Big Time. And...they even have some Big Time beer on tap! They accidentally charged my friend for the entire table's bill (we started calling her Moneybags Lee), but they were nice and fixed it without a hitch.

  • Scott H.

My family and I went for the first time last week. First off let me say they had a good beer selection, and I thought their house brews were better than average. They had some nice vegetarian options, which is always nice to find in a brew pub. My biggest complaint was the seats. They were some of the most uncomfortable I have ever sat on in a restaurant. We would have stayed and had another beer or two but were too uncomfortable. I also thought a few of the menu options were a bit overpriced. I liked the hop shoots but 4.50 seems a little high. Three of us (one a child) having four beers, a glass of wine, a root beer and some food was 70$ with a tip. I think we will probably go back if we are in the neighborhood but would probably not make the trek back over there otherwise.

I really enjoy Naked City. As a Greenwood resident, I watched the place come together from the empty space it once was. My expectations were high and I was not disappointed. Great variety of brews, constantly rotating. Friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff and owners that make you feel at home. The food menu started a little thin but has been constantly improving with new items...with the addition of hosting the Greenwood "Art Up", the place has even more character....if you like great beer, don't miss NC.

  • Sharon M.

A really welcome newer addition to The Greenwood Strip. A fantastic selection of brews on tap and in the bottle--they have an entire menu in a three ring binder with detailed descriptions of the brewery and the brews. The menu of food offerings is sadly small, given that they only made a very small corner into the kitchen and thus can't do much with it. They do the best they can, but I often wish for more. I wouldn't recommend it for dinner, but lunch or a latenight snack works out just fine. Service is great, love the vibe. Check it out for yourself!

  • Brian M.

I stopped in Naked City the other night for the first time. A beer-fanatic friend told me about it, so I knew not much could go wrong. For being open just 2 weeks I was impressed by how established it felt. There was a good crowd for a Thursday night and just a few seats were vacant. I was amazed at the selection of taps available. I started off with the 9lb Porter from Georgetown, then on to Elysian's Bi Frost. After those two beers I questioned my driving abilities and switched to ice water, and even that was delicous! The only glitch was a couple of lengthy waits for service, but I'm sure they'll work it out soon enough. I'm going back!

This place has lots of beers on tap and I think i would love it. Here's the problem, they don't cary any pilsners - ever. Every time i go I see if they have a pils or hef on tap and the answer is always no. Food is not bad. Good company here. The long shape of the bar is awkward too. I find it hard to feel comfortable while visiting.

Everything about Naked City Taphouse is great, and by that I mean the food, the beer, the classic films and sports on the LCD screens, the waiters and did I mention the beer? Now, I'm not a beer snob, but I can definitely differentiate a good IPA from a bad one - I can safely say that I've never had a single bad beer at Naked City. They have rotating taps which are GREAT, and at any given day, they have at least 15 different beers on tap. A pint costs between $4 to $5.75 on average, which may seem a bit steep, but for good beer, anything is worth it (you pay $3 for a PBR and can't fork out an extra buck for a Triple IPA, c'mon!). The food is also pretty good - they serve organic salads and grass-fed beef (+8points). I particularly love their new grilled chicken sandwich with goat cheese and rosemary infusion. One of the more elegant dishes I've found in a tavern! Service can be a bit slow because everyone is so laid back. The bartenders also act as waiters and most of them are really nice. The whole place has sort of a secret, cozy feel to it that isn't yet ruined by hipsters pretending to know their beers. The music played is typical of the Seattle indie-snobbery, but that's not a bad thing. How can you fault any place for playing Software Slump all the way through? All in all a nice place to have a quiet dinner and few good beers, particularly on Sunday nights when it's Happy Hour all day. Yay, Naked City.

    (5)
  • Tara B.

2 words, Barley Wine. They had a lot of veggie options, and a meatball sub that looked amazing. I had a french dip that was pretty decent, and my guy had a veg burger that he liked dipped in the au jus. I also really liked the salad dressing on the side salad. It took a few minutes for the bartender to warm up to us, he just had some real attitude at first, but he came around. So we will go back.

We tried this place for the 1st time last night. We were impressed with the selection of beers, many of which we haven't seen prior to coming here. I can't help but wonder if the layout and food offerings weren't inspired by the 74th/Hilltop/Columbia Alehouses? No burgers or fries here, but our sandwiches were good. Naked City has a variety of menu items that sounded good. We tried the Reuben and grilled chicken, both were pretty decent. Our only complaint was the wait for our meals. The sandwiches we ordered took over 45 minutes! Then I saw not our waitperson try to serve them to another table and then bring them back to the kitchen serving area. I had to go there and fetch them myself. It wasn't our server's fault, but she felt bad we had to wait so long and comped our beers. I watched that other waitperson again try to deliver meals to the wrong table. I think the kitchen and wait staff need to get their act together. Then it will be a fine place for a light meal and some brews.

It's been a couple of months since I have been there, but while there were some pros, there were definitely some cons. Pros: A lot of great beers on tap Nice big space, well decorated with a large cool bar Cons: No service!!! (What, you want me to go lean over some guy at the bar, order four beers for my table, hover over the guy as I wait, and then spill beer on his shoulder as I try to carry said beers back to my table?!) Horrible food ($12 meat and cheese plate that had some American slices and cold cuts on it, and something else that was so unremarkable that I can't remember it, except that I know it was expensive and bad) This place definitely has some positives, but someone needs to help these guys out with a few things and it could be a great place. If I could order beer from my table, my tab would have been four times what it was. I know they want to be a "beer" establishment, but a little food goes a long way. I had to leave to get dinner someplace else, and my dinner tab could have easily gone into Naked City's coffers.
