Was driving by a few weeks ago when I moved into the neighborhood and noticed there was an opening soon sign. When I read that it was MOD Pizza I got very excited as I have loved all of their other locations that I've been to. They all have the same pricing, and I happen to go in there with a friend on the grand opening day in which they were donating money from each pizza to the food bank or a shelter or something like that. Eating pizza for a cause, can I get any better? I love that it is unlimited toppings all for the same price. Tastes great and is made in front of you and cooks fast.

Tasty thin crust pizza with all my favorite toppings, yes please! The service is super friendly and fast. Atmosphere is casual and a bit loud on Friday night, but friendly. I loved the selection of toppings, and am already plotting my next combo. Yes, I will definitely be back. Felt very welcome thanks to the attentive staff. And, the pizza was good, crispy, thin crust fare. Bring the kids, definitely family-friendly. Looking forward to eating on the patio in warmer weather, too.

Very fast do it assembly line pizza made to order and is ready in 4 or 5 minutes. Crust/base is not great, sauce neither but it is fast.

We've been their almost a dozen times now! It just keeps being fantastic! So many toppings, so many options and the staff are WONDERFUL! I just recently placed a large order online to go, one needed a redo and they replaced it quickly and without hassle. Also, my 2 year old choked and left a mess that was too big for wipes to clean up and one of their staff quickly, kindly and discreetly cleaned it and sanitized it for us. He treated us with such kindness during a scary and yucky moment. THANK YOU to all that work at the Ballard MOD pizza!

Service. Very friendly workers! Other than that do not expect to be catered to. This is a grab, sit and eat type joint. Food. Pizza is okay. Being from NY I have pretty high pizza standards - I am not sure if there was not enough sauce or if it lacked salt, but the pizza was just okay. I will have to ask for extra sauce next time to test this out... Speaking of the fact that you can add as many toppings as you want is a huge plus! They also serve local brews and great homemade ice teas and a lemonade. Overall - definitely a great place for a quick week day dinner!

The pizza is great there, although they are a bit on the pricey side but it's still good. The pizzas are thin though. The service here is really great. All the workers are nice and cool. I was there for a kids birthday party, and everyone was so crazy and wild and we were so loud and made crazy stuff with the sodas. The workers didn't say or complain about it. I was pretty sure they wanted to scream at us, but I was really surprised when they didn't say anything. And when we left all the workers said have a good night and that made me feel happy honestly.

YUM YUM YUM! Discovered the downtown location last week, and then was driving past this new location today and it turns out it was their grand opening! That meant I could treat my husband to yummy pizza (he had a #5 and I did a make my own with roasted garlic, jalepenos, regular garlic, olives, artichokes, and some other yummy stuff) AND they were DONATING ALL PROCEEDS to the local food bank for the day! Apparently they do that every thanksgiving week, too. How cool! They also serve Proletariat wine (love the red!) made by three local guys that I met at another charity event a while ago. The staff were SUPER friendly and happy, the music loud and upbeat, and the pizza delicious. I'll be back! (Oh, you should like thin crust BTW).

This place was a surprise. I wasn't expecting a lot from a chain, but I had a great time at MOD. Christine and the rest of the crew were helpful and friendly, even though it was pretty busy and it looked like they had a few things to handle on top of the customers. Some of the best service I've had in a while. The food itself was good too. The float was delicious (and refillable!!!). I had the Lucy Sunshine (garlic, artichoke hearts, mozz, parmesean, dollop of red sauce to finish) and added argula, chicken and broccolini. So good. I loved the number of choices and the fact that it's a set price regardless. Having the suggested pizzas a jumping off point made a huge difference to my hangry self. Best pizza I've ever had? Nah. But definitely a good bet any day, and hard to beat at this price point (it is unsurprisingly way better than CPK and at like half the price). I'll defintely have to try the salad pizza at some point. I'll be back for sure.

Dearest MOD Pizza: Get some avocados, nuts, & seeds...and come to Palo Alto! Seriously? This is pretty awesome... Made on demand and all the same price? Why not? I got a traditional Caesar salad with grilled chicken, feta, and arugula addition; plus a MOD pizza. Most delicious! All in all, workers are sincere, service was great. The price is fair and overall inexpensive; especially for the amount of toppings. The ambiance is a bit hipster mixed with a bit of tradition pizza place and a momentous amount of high top tables. Overall, being a visitor from the Bay Area-hel yes! I will not come back to Seattle without a dollop of MOD. Please add avocado and expand! The peninsula needs you, you'd fit into the Palo Alto scene swimmingly. ...I just found out you exist in San Jose, I'm coming for you, man. Stanford would appreciate.

They did a great job updating the old Ivar's space for Mod. Lots of seating inside and out on their covered deck, nice industrial decor/feel, really clean. No line when we showed up, but every other time we've driven by there has been a long line almost out the door which has prevented us from stopping in before now. I had the Tristan and my friend had the Mad Dog - both were very flavorful and filling. I love thin crust pizza and this was Mod size was enough for my pregnant self. We also ordered some of their house made iced teas - which were perfectly refreshing!

The pizza is great and I love that our can family make their own pizza's. HOWEVER, the Ballard location is a zoo with toddlers and babies galore, I never let my son run around a restaurant/store when he was a baby and EVERYBODY in the store had a baby/toddler and they ALL were letting them run around like it was the bouncy ball house at IKEA. We won't be going back.

One word- Sri-rancha! Whoever thought of mixing ranch and sriracha is seriously my new hero. The pizza is delicious; you get to build your own and the price doesn't go up at all. Great portion size, nice selection of drinks, the employees were really personable and helpful (besides this one chick who seemed to just be having a bad day). I wouldn't suggest the spring salad mix, tastes kind of dirty, but everything else? GREAT. I will definitely be coming back.

This location is where the old Ivar's used to be. I'd driven by a number of times but didn't stop in until my kiddo said this would be "the spot" for birthday dinner. As some have said in reviews, this is a good place for kids. If kids are not your jam, there's enough seating where you can put some distance between you. The staff was very friendly. I had some challenges coordinating the orders of 6 people - pizza, salad, strips, drinks, etc. The staff was patient and I let a number of folks go in front of us until we got it together. Pizza - pretty much like every MOD I've been to. It's not gourmet but when you need it fast and your way, it's the perfect solution. I love thin crust and if the pizza makes my kiddo smile...well, that's all I need to know. They're also great at making substitutions - pick one off the board and customize by removing or adding toppings. Salad - We got two different kinds of salad. They were good, but not great. The family size is big enough for 3-4 people to share, provided they're eating other things. The regular size salad is enough to fill one. The caesar salad was big and they let you add more toppings if you want. However, the dressing could have been better. Drinks - They have a nice selection of bottled drinks. I prefer the fountain drinks, specifically, the iced teas. We sat at a large communal table. There's also outdoor seating for warmer weather, bar stool seats, and smaller tables. They have a parking lot but if it's full, street parking is available.

I love this place! Fast, excellent service and very affordable. Great pizza options with the flexibility to alter any or create your own. As good as the pizza is, it pales in comparison to the service. These folks ensure their customers are well cared for and go above and beyond the average pizzeria experience. This has quickly become my favorite pizza place!

Mod Pizza continues to prepare delicious, traditional thin crust, wood fired pizzas made to order.....at one price. The 11 inch proved too much for me and I brought a good portion home for later. The young hipster guy taking the orders was a bit too much "in my face, calling me "buddy" and barking out questions, but we managed to get past him and onto the very friendly and personable woman who was taking money. The fountain drinks are provided with as many refills as you like. I really like Mod Pizza. And obviously so do many others. There was a line-up from the counter to the door the entire time we were there, while Taco Del Mar across the street appeared to be without patrons.

This is by far the best value pizza place ever. For the price I was expecting cheap ingredients and badly made pizza. What I got was a work of art, all of the ingredients are fresh including the meat. They also have a variety of cheeses. I walked in 5 minutes before closing time and they still made a pizza for me. It was delicious! I chose the white sauce, lots of meat, veggies and two handfuls of parmesan cheese. They bake them in a stone oven which gives a really delicious natural taste. All of that cost me 8 bucks. If I had to get that same pizza at another pizza shop it would of been at least $20. I would definitely come here again.

Um, dangerously close! Two blocks away from house and I will be a regular. Nothing but positive sentiments. First, the service- greeted with warm welcomes and folks eager to get your pizza order perfect. Endless fresh toppings- unlimited! Create your masterpiece. Love the various sizes for a personalized meal option. Plus, for folks on a healthier kick- they have mini personalized and salads- again, pile on the veggies, proteins, whatever you want. Delicious thin-crust pizza and I love the vibe- a community and very friendly atmosphere- plenty of seating (outdoor included!) - fun decor and great music. It's love! Desserts looked good and they even have milkshakes!

First time to MOD...what can I say-have eaten pies all over north America (lived for nine years in NYC) and this Ballard offering was in the top 3. Great crust, awesome toppings..MOD focuses on whats important-PIZZA, no pasta, no wings, PIZZA. We walked in amid a dinner rush, were welcomed, talked through the MOD method of creating our pizzas by a most friendly, attentive and courteous line staff. Even though it was a dinner rush everyone was treated like a regular both adults and kids alike. The final product, a custom pie (The Mega, a double 11" double crust) was beautifully crisped on the bottom and golden bubbly on the top and ready in only 10 minutes. For the true pizza fan -as many toppings for one price, awesome crust, fresh salads, good beer on tap and courteous staff MOD is a must....

My little one wanted some pizza on Sat night around 7 and after calling around and getting the "we can have it ready in an hour or an hour and half" I called Mod which is 3 blocks from my new place in Ballard. They said 15 min. I ordered drove over and bam had some very good thin crust pizza. Good deal for what you get. So if you like thin crust pizza that place is worth trying.

This is such a great spot! Choose one of their pizzas, or build your own from scratch, the easiest way possible! Pick your size (i put away the big one just fine;) sauce, cheese, toppings.. oh my! More cheese, yes please! They don't charge extra per topping, like most pizza places - so that's nice. The options are endless. A less than $10 meal, can't complain! I have yet to try one of their salads, but I'm sure they're just as delicious! In need of a fast and yummy meal? Don't pass by without stopping here!!

Seattle's Ballard neighborhood has so many pizza establishments, so we wanted to see what MOD Pizza would add to the mix (former location of Ivar's). The only other time I've tried MOD Pizza previously was at their Seattle Center Armory location. Third time's the charm, since the previous other two times we were deterred by the line outside the front door. We timed it well to show up just as groups of Ballard HS students were heading back to classes. The counter workers were very personable and enthusiastic - seriously - like they really enjoy working there which is a plus! Their energy translated to us the patrons, we felt welcomed and wanting to stay to enjoy our lunch onsite. Clean, bright kitchen and restaurant design with a well designed pizza oven. The thin crust pies are cranked out with organized speed. We selected two of their classic pizzas (mod $7.47 each): the kiddo enjoyed the #1 Maddy which had red sauce, mozzarella with the addition of gorgonzola. Typical tween appetite it was devoured. I had the #6 Jasper which had red sauce, mozzarella, sliced mushrooms, and spicy sausage. We also tried their chocolate milkshakes ($3.27 each). It's great you can get pizzas both smaller (mini $4.47 each) and larger (mega $10.47 each) than the classic mod 10 inch ones made with a variety of toppings and finishing sauces. There's also salads, sweet and savory strips, tarts, and a wide variety of beverages (beer, wine, lemonade, soda, floats, and milkshakes). MOD = made on demand, straightforward, great value, and friendly staff. Great formula for quality pizzas that's easy on the wallet.

Loved this place. A flat rate pizza with any toppings you want. Who could ask for more? Go here and see Ken. He's one of the pizza maker and has an awesome personality that makes the pizza making process even better

Ok ok ok. So besides pizza they have other items to indulge on, one of which I experienced this evening. Vampire season is upon us and I decided to try the garlic strips. OMG. The other ted sauce that isn't marinara has a pleasant kick to it and the marinara is spectacular. Please support your local MOD employees and tip well. My name is Jerry and I approve this review.

Great, fast pizza that is totally customizable! Always gave a great experience. A trick I do when the ordering line is long, is pay for my pizza and beer first. That way you enjoy delicious beer while you wait in line. Oh and they do to-go beers too!

  • Kathryn B.

This is so cool! Our first time at MOD Pizza- we walked in and they said hi. There were 4 people ahead of us and we waited about 5 minutes. They apologized about the wait and we told them it was our first time. He walked us through the process. Everyone was super friendly and the pizza is tasty!

Cafeteria style pizza. Quick and easy. Nothing special. If you're a pizza snob, you'll probably want to skip this place but you can't beat the price and the speed.

  • Ed M.

Very friendly staff, and truly fresh ingredients(could hate been baked a tad longer). The 11" is more than enough for 2 normal sized folks.

    (4)
  • Sarah C.

Made On Demand. That is all you need to know. Seriously though, you can have any pizza creation you can think up. Any amount of toppings for the exact same affordable price. They also offer MOD salads and have a couple of beers on tap as well as wine. If you're wanting dessert go with a shake or a float.

The service is amazing! I love the staff here. They will make you feel welcome and well taken care of. It's a very casual atmosphere and the pizza is simple and great!

  • Lauren F.

I liked it! It's not quite Veraci, but it's also half the price. The proportions were proper for my taste: thin crust, moderate amount of sauce and cheese. I see other people calling the food subpar, but I generally eat pretty faaaancy stuff and I think they're wrong. I didn't try any meat, however, so perhaps that's where the issue lay? *shrug* We'll be back.

the pizza here is AMMAAZZINGG! so far the best pizza I've ever ate! the workers are very nice and the place overall is clean and so cute! they have really good lemonade too! the price for everything is so good! definitely worth my money!'

This place is really great. super friendly staff; very quick; very clean. Seems to have waaay more seating than most Mods. During the school year, stay away at lunch hour as it gets insanely busy due to the high school. Even then they still go pretty fast. Only complaint (super minor complaint) is that they don't slice your pizza into 8 slices when requested. They ALWAYS forget. My friends and I have a bet going about how many pizzas they'll miss before remembering. Right now they're up to 40 and counting since March. I'll change this review to 5 stars the first time they get it right!

  • Heidi T.

Unless you're 9 years old, or have a 9 year old, this place is not for you. The staff is very friendly, but the food is like cafeteria food.

    (3)
  • Nathan S.

I love this place, their Gluten Free pizza is really good! I love that they are super open to making insane toppings and if they mess it up they'll redo it on the house. The only thing that stops me from giving them 5 stars is that they're a tad pricey for what you get. All in all pretty great though!

  • James E.

After a failed attempt at ordering decent pizza from Veraci on Market Street we drove here to see if this new chain had anything to offer of higher quality. Sad to say folks this place is Subway for pizza. If you're a pizza snob like myself. Three stars for the great atmosphere and kind folks running the establishment. Great spot for kids.

Another lame pizza place that doesn't even deliver.

    (1)
  • Matt M.

Cheap! But tastes that way too. The pizza crust had no real flavor but the plus side is you can load up on toppings as you pay per pizza no matter how many toppings. I ate here with 2 people for 13 bucks and we left satisfied. We split a pizza with lots of topping and a salad with lots of toppings. Can't say I will be going back much as it wasn't very good and I rather pay more and get some pizza I love.

  • Kelly M.

I wasn't really expecting much more than quick cheap pizza - I was pleasantly surprised - The ingredients were fresh and of good quality - The Staff (Ken) was lively and fun and not in a contrived way - They were smiling and working quickly on a busy Saturday afternoon - $8 carafe of wine was a great value and not bad - We will come grab pizza's to-go here rather than order delivery from Ballard Pizza Kitchen (1 Hour+) or Zeek's (? quality/always cold)

  • Peggy M.

Staff is super friendly, very high energy, very customer oriented. Pizza comes in two sizes with many choices of topping. Also several salad choices are offered. Great prices, nice selection of beer, soft drinks, and more. Did I say YUMMY PIZZA?? I'm older, so the super loud music is my only complaint, but I'm probably in the minority. Nice choice of inside or outside seating. I'll definitely go back....

This place is awesome, and I am so glad they've moved into the neighborhood. The staff is friendly and welcoming every time. Food is good and you can count on quality consistency at a very fair price.

  • Jman K.

First try was challenging tonight as our pizza kept being given away to other parties, but in their defense, the place was incredibly busy and the staff were completely giving it their all behind the counter and out on the floor. Will try back again when it's less crowded. Good vibe there for sure.

I am in love with this store. I live nearby and have been in a handful of times and the food and service is unbelievable. By the third time i came in the workers remembered my name and what kind of pizza i like. They have also twice given me a free drink. It is one of my favorite places :)
