Like waiting for your food? Love a slow atmosphere and lack of attention? Then this is the place for you! We arrived for happy hour and ordered off the menu and waited for about an hour and no food. Our neighbour's had to jump in to find out what was the problem. Our neighbors stated they only came here because it was the only other choice due to a fire at another restaurant. The food?? Can't tell because we left without it coming to our table! First restaurant I have ever walked out of. This restaurant is 8 months old, so no excuse!

We've been here 3+ times now, and always had a really good meal in a inviting restaurant. The main dining room is open and airy, plays a black & white movie (same one every time, sadly) on silent up on one wall, and is comfortable. Windows look out onto the street; there's also outdoor seating. The bar area is more energetic and lively with the same friendly service. Everything we've eaten here keeps us coming back. Solid American-Italian fare with good flavors. The pasta is never overcooked. Their meat entrees are equally tasty and well prepared.

Summer 2014. I found this place right when it opened, as I frequently walked this area (for yoga and groceries). I was excited to try it, and so delighted when I did. I ate here often at varying times of the day. I brought several different friends/dates with me, and each one enjoyed it also. Every meal I ever had here was fantastic. Strike that - superb. I love that this place had the casual Seattle feel, but the food was easily stuff that you'd find in a bougie restaurant. Other greatness: All the deserts were delicious. Decent wine selection. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. I loved the outdoor seating. I no longer live in the area, but I definitely miss this place.

3.5 stars My friend was familiar with the Kirkland location and suggested we check out this new location before heading to Greenlake Park. Three of us girls came here and it was during happy hour (our favorite meal of the day) and had some white wine (Pinot Grigio) and shared some small plates. We sat in the bar and the decor was lovely. Very modern and chic. I especially liked the light fixtures and the wine holders. Here's what we had: meatballs in Milano sauce, beef pizza with arugula and caramelized onions, truffle Mac and cheese, crab cakes and caprese. The meatballs were my favorites and the creamy mushroom sauce was delicious! It came with two large meatballs and buttery toast. My second favorite was the truffle Mac and cheese. Very cheesy and had a salty and seasoned crumble on top. I would definitely order those two dishes the next time I return. The meal was only $20 per person with tax and tip - very reasonable. And since it was Sunday we found free street parking a couple of blocks away. Solid happy hour spot.

Good Italian food. I had the capalloni. It was like a big ravioli with chicken and pasta inside covered with baked cheese....omg! I will want that again. My cucumber cocktail was a bit strong and a slight too tarty for me. If it was more a bit more bubbly and refreshing like I thought, I would have dug it..but i did get a buzz lol so I'm not complaining.

Missed HH but had a Groupon. Great service, nice high ceilings, modern decor. Good place to sit outside when weather gets warmer. If you sit in the last sunny table in bar area near restrooms, you will be blinded by sun & mirror. Better at sunset. Monkey do: DUNGENESS CRAB CAKES- avocado, candied pancetta, spicy aioli, arugula - eh SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE- slow cooked rich ragu - ground beef over spaghetti. coulda made that at home PENNE ANGELINA- garlic cream sauce, chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, goat cheese - good, but still coulda made it yourself. Monkey shall return with Groupon and too lazy to cook, which is easy to do after enjoying a beautiful day at Green Lake.

A friend recommmended this place for happy hour. We sat inside because it was so hot and sunny and the umbrellas weren't casting shade on the tables. It was nice and cool inside. The happy hour menu was great: we had meatballs, kale caesar salad, kobe beef pizetti (? flat bread pizza) and delicious bruchetta. The service was outstanding. Our server was very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. When we left the two people at the front desk also thanked us for coming in. We will definitely be back to try again!

I've come here and always sat in the bar, having a glass of wine and some small bites but never a full deal meal. I love to take class at Pure Barre then head here after with a girlfriend or group for some wine and snacks! The food I've had has been delicious. I'm a huge fan of the roasted beet salad with fried goat cheese (FRIED. GOAT. CHEESE.) - the beets come with greens and light dressing which is so tasty mixed with the cheese!! Delicious! I've had the calamari, also good but the dipping sauces are nothing to write home about. The pizzettas are great to share, and the carpaccio is also fresh and delicious!

Went to Lucia Friday evening for a quick dinner and had mixed feelings about it. To start off we got the bruschetta and it was a good potion for the price and very tasty. It had some good balsamic drizzled on it and was probably the high point of the meal. 5/5 for this dish. For the first entree we got the prosciutto pasta dish and really didn't like it. It had truffle oil in it and it was really overpowering and only had a bite or two. 1/5 for this. Second entree we got was the arugula and prosciutto pizza and it was pretty good. It was thin crust flash cooked style (not sure if it was wood fired or not) and was pretty good. We ended up splitting this and it was pretty good, probably 3-4/5 for this dish. Coming back and trying some other things might give me a better picture of this place but it won't be high on my list.

I like Lucia. I've been to the one in Kirkland before and was glad to see that this new location was more spacious and open. I've come here 3x since it opened, once for dinner and twice for HH. They have HH everyday 3-6 and 9-11 and 3-close Sundays. The layout/interior of this place is right up my alley, clean, smooth lines mixed w/ wood. For dinner, I tried their signature spaghetti w truffle and the proscioutto and arugula pizza. I liked both dishes, but they didn't blow me away. However, I did like the bottle of wine we ordered which was reasonably priced ($30). For HH, I tend to get a glass of their HH wine, I've tried both red and white n enjoyed them. I've also tried the HH meatballs, the kobe beef pizzeta, truffled mac n cheese, and stuffed mushrooms. I like how you can choose from 3 sauces for the meatballs and the kobe beef pizzeta has a nice horseradish kick to it. My bf enjoyed the truffled mac n cheese, it def has a strong truffle flavor. I'd prob skip the mushrooms next time. Service has been variable, but better than not. It seems that they have a few kinks to work out as one time it took a bit for someone to notice we needed menus. Otherwise, the waitresses we've had have been personable and friendly. This place has a lot of potential, however it will probably stay a HH spot for me as the prices are a tad high for a regular dinner. Plus, HH twice a day makes it easy to stop by for a glass of wine or a small bite.

We finally tried this neighborhood place after seeing a Living Social promotion. As noted in multiple reviews - the service is incredibly slow. We were there around 5pm on a Monday with not much going on and it took forever to get our entrees and much too long to settle the bill and leave. The pizza was not spectacular - with places like Via Tribunali, Tutta Bella, and Zaw to choose from - I can't fathom coming back for the pizza. My linguine with shrimp was tasty and nicely prepared - at $18 it's not necessarily something I would eat often for a casual weeknight meal. They have a kids menu which is a big plus for families.

Ive been here twice and will not be returning. The first time we dined on the patio, and service was incredibly slow. Maybe it's because we were the only ones out there, but at one point my bf went inside to remind them we were seated out there and ready to at least have water. We ordered off the happy hour menu. The caramelized pear pizza was tasty. It was the best thing I had. Also, it's pizza; it's not too hard to screw up. The stuffed mushrooms were awful. I couldn't taste any cheese (especially not 3 different kinds!) or pesto which is odd considering that's what they were supposed to be stuffed with. They were so bland and quite frankly inedible. My bf said the pretzel was good, but he didn't finish it. He said it was more like a pizza calzone than a pretzel. The second time going there, I was in the process of moving so I ordered to-go. I ordered the $12 Caesar and kale salad and was told it would be 15 minutes. That seemed kinda expensive and a long wait time but nothing else was within walking distance so I ordered. A few minutes later, I said I wanted to order a coke too. The hostess walked to the bar and brought me a coke in a glass, and I clarified, "no, I meant to-go." I thought that was common sense when you're already ordering to-go, right? Well apparently it's not. She looked at me dumbfounded and said "oh we don't have to-go cups; just the little kiddie cups." Well, I wasn't going to pay $3 for three sips of a coke so I cancelled the order. Then I asked, "you do have to-go plastic ware, right? I'm in the process of moving so if you don't have that then I can't eat my salad." And guess what?! She had to go in the back to ask! That alone is odd. But luckily they had it. I ended up waiting over 20 mins for this salad. When I finally opened the container to eat it, I expected to see something spectacular for a $12 salad that took 20 mins to make, but nope. It was just lettuce and kale, Parmesan cheese, dressing, and a few burnt croutons. Was it bad? No, it wasn't. It was a typical side salad you get for $5 at most restaurants. It's really the price and wait time that make it a bad experience. Also, I suppose the hostess could have been new but she definitely needs more training. Most of that seemed like common sense. I won't be returning which sucks bc now I live like 2 blocks from there...I can't recommend this place to anyone due to the bad service experiences I've had and mediocre food.

Came here for happy hour on a Saturday night (really nice since a lot of places don't offer HH at these hours). The food was pretty good: we ordered the Kobe beef pizza and Dungeness crab sliders to share. We tried a glass of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, one of my favorite reds, but I have to say, it was probably the worst one I've ever had. Also took off a star for a few little service things: delivering food to the wrong table, not getting our water refilled, etc. I think this place has a lot of potential, but there are definitely some "new restaurant" kinks to work out

This place was hyped up and I was excited to try it. The day was gorgeous and we sat outside on the lovely patio. Down hill from there. A blackened salmon salad. What's worse that overdone salmon, chewy, unflakable, and poorly seasoned? The only "black" on the blackened was charcoal. Had to ask for salt and pepper (none on the table). I don't quite get why there's a buzz about this place. The food was less than mediocre.

(Originally posted 2 weeks ago on my mobile acct.) Well, we just left after waiting for 10 min. for water (sound familiar?). There was no one working FOH and eventually an exasperated young lady stopped us on her way out, asking if anyone had helped us yet? We asked if they were still serving and she said "sure". She looked around for another employee and we both realized she had her keys, her phone and her purse and was apparently on her way out. She hurriedly grabbed two menus and sat us next a busy 8 top. Then two different servers walked by us, MULTIPLE TIMES, never once making eye contact. After a while we got up and headed for the door. THAT'S when one of the servers stopped us to ask if we were going to be dining in the bar? When we told her we were leaving because we hadn't even received a greeting in ten minutes, she said "Sorry about that. Have a good night." Um...so you really don't want us to come back? Okay. We won't. Oh, by the way, EVERY single restaurant on that block was PACKED to capacity: Shelter? No tables. Greenlake Bar and Grill? Packed. Rosita's? Busy. Lucia? Roughly 12 tables in the front dining area, 3 servers, no customers. The word "hello" usually costs you absolutely nothing, but in this case, it cost you a roughly $70 ticket. It's a beautiful place, too bad we'll never know what food tastes like.

Went here for the 5th time hoping things would get better...and they didn't! Had the beef slider, Marg pizza, and Caesar/Kale salad and should have sent it back. Pizza: sauce tasted like the same sauce in Chef boyardee Beefaroni. The crust was thick as well as taking up most of the pizza. There was a good 3-4 inches from where the sauce stops, and the crust starts. The dough was also super thick. Sliders: it was really, really sweet and didn't taste like a burger/slider. The idea to put horseradish on was gross.. It tasted like a greasy bun with sweet caramelized onions, a mystery meat, and some horseradish to really make things weird. Kale/Caesar Salad: completely overdressed. Dressing was dripping off of the leaves. When I think Italian kitchen, and think back on the last 5 visits to this place, there isn't 1 dish I have tried that tastes and feels Italian. I live 1 block away and trust me, I really really want to love this place

3 of us dined on 6 items from their happy hour. All 3 of us were pretty hungry but still couldn't finish all of the food - but - not for lack of flavor. Good deals with nice sized portions. Some service stumbles but this review is based on just one visit and I'd happily go back.

Ate here with my family - food was decent but service was really slow. They seemed to be understaffed and were out of a few things we wanted to order. The atmosphere is nice and modern, and it's nice that you can park for free in the garage underneath.

Very attractive looking restaurant and I heard great things about the food. Upon arrival I was greeted by the hostess who stumbled through about 19 disjointed sentences in an effort to explain she was short one menu from the hostess station and would have to go grab one. Shortly thereafter I was seated and reassured that a menu would be brought over right away. In the interim I glanced at my company's menu a wise decision as no menu was ever provided to me which I found distinctly odd, what with it being a restaurant and all, however was consistent with the disorganized first impression i was greeted with. I ordered 2 appetizers, and two salads for entrees. I also asked if I could have an order prepared to go that I may bring home to a friend. After bread was served, one of the two appetizers came out. Followed by the salads. All the food tasted quite good. Enough to have distracted me from the fact that the second appetizer hadn't been served. As I neared the end of my meal, the second appetizer was served. The server then brought the check over and let me know while she did put the order in on time, so it would be fresh, the kitchen was a bit behind and proceeded to ask if I still wanted it? I definitely did, or so I thought. As it turns out, "a bit behind" was code language for "The kitchen won't be able to get your pasta out for at least 20 minutes or more, are you sure you want to wait that long?" And I didn't. After waiting for 22 minutes watching my server pass my table no less than 15 times saying nothing, I finally decided that I didn't want it any longer. The entire meal didn't take that long to order, serve and eat and I hadn't realized my quick bite to eat would turn into an hour long endeavor. In an effort to get on with my life I asked if I could get someone to cancel the order and adjust the check so I could leave. I was told they would send over the manager to do so. This never happened. It was then explained that one of the chef's was out with a broken elbow and another server didn't show up for the shift so things are a little hectic. A point that was more than evident to anyone sitting near my table which had a straight view to the kitchen revealing a cacophony of staff including the hostess and manager running into each other. The adjusted check was brought back and further explanation was provided detailing how immediately before my order went in another table's order was placed and they had 5 salads to prepare, combined with the short staff it was just part of the restaurant industry. Although that makes almost no sense to me, which is awesome, I was most grateful for the keen insight into the shortcomings of my server's vocational choices. The cherry on top was that although the server adjusted my check removing the 26 minutes pasta dish, the amount of cash I left for the full check was not returned. So when I opened the bill I found the adjusted check with no money and had the pleasure of asking for the money back so I could also adjust the amount I paid. WITH OUT A DOUBT this was the worst service experience for a $73 meal I have had in at least 4 years. Simply letting me know a status, apologizing during the wait, offering a free desert or discount on my next visit, ANYTHING to address what was going on would have instantly remedied my frustration. If I hadn't enjoyed the food I would have rated one star and I certainly won't be returning.

My friends and I came here for a birthday dinner and I was really excited to try it out! The place is beautiful and the atmosphere is nice. They play classic black and white movies on the wall. Our waitress was very helpful in choosing wines that would pair well with our meals. However, the food was not very good at all. Bland and lacking in flavor. I tried their house special truffle spaghetti and meatballs. I was disappointed. The meatballs tasted strange and I definitely couldn't pick up on the truffle, which was surprising. I tried my friends' meals and they were all the same: overpriced and not very good. I didn't finish my meal and didn't take the left overs home (which I never do). We won't be eating here again.

I absolutely love the food, the excellent customer service, the atmosphere, the beautiful decor, the music, the lighting, the wine selections, and even the elegant black and white Audrey Hepburn films that have been on the past few times I've been. Quality is everything to me, so a lot of times I feel like I would rather cook at home than eat at a restaurant. It seriously really bothers me when restaurants purchase low quality food and cover it up with sauces, salt and cheap oils. This is not a problem at Lucia. I really appreciate that at Lucia they use only the best, organic, fresh ingredients, and you can tell right away when you taste the food. Even their olive oil is superior to other Italian restaurants in the area. I'm pretty sure most of their cuisine comes from authentic Italian family recipes. My boyfriend can't eat gluten and so we really like that they have great gluten-free pastas and pizza too. Lucia represents highest quality, great customer service, and is family owned and operated. I trust the integrity of their food and have always been happy with my experience there. If you haven't been yet, definitely don't waste your money somewhere else. Everyone loves this place.

If I could give zero stars I would. Wost service ever. First time I went my server never came back to the tabe. Tonight at the bar served the wrong wine. I don't care about the price of the wine I care about getting what I ordered. The barter never Apologize for serving me the wrong wine. Not going back!

I've tried almost everything on the menu at the Lucia Kirkland and the Greenlake location is just as good for the Seattle peeps. Faves include the Seafood and Fettuccine! Spicy and delicious. The atmosphere is great with the outdoor lights reflecting into the interior decor and the old style lights. Others have commented on the price but actually great for the quality and location. No problem getting street parking either. Bring a date and definitely give Lucia a try!

Lucia (same company as the one in Kirkland) opened in Greenlake in the last couple of weeks. It's located at Greenlake Village, in the same complex as PCC. The setting reminds me of Mamma Melina by University Village: modern, with lounge-y music and patio. Focaccia bread was offered free while we waited for our order. It was soft and fresh. I didn't really like the vinaigrette it came with and would have preferred just some extra virgin olive oil. Our dinner: Calamari: 2 out of 5 stars. They were way too heavily breaded with a really hard coating. We ate just 1/3 of this dish. They should try the calamari at Barolo, which is excellent. Poached pear salad: Organic mixed greens, sliced poached pears, gorgonzola cheese, candied walnuts, & creamy gorgonzola dressing. Nice flavor but the greens could have been colder. They were a bit lukewarm and slightly wilted. Shrimp scampi: White wine garlic sauce, organic cherry tomatoes, capers, & fettuccini pasta. Delicious and garlicky. The pasta tasted fresh although it could have been a little more al dente. Lucia's Signature Spaghetti: White truffle oil fondue, shaved black truffles, homemade meatballs covered in a pink sauce. This dish was flavorful but the sauce is super thick (I guess that's why they call it 'fondue'). We found it too rich and heavy. Definitely felt like a gut bomb. Dessert was tiramisu and that was amazing! I would definitely go back when I have a tiramisu craving. The restaurant was quite busy but everything came out at a good pace. Service was friendly and attentive. I wasn't wowed by the food, but the restaurant is a nice addition to the neighborhood. The clientele seemed to be mostly young and fashionable types with a smattering of families with small children. There is parking downstairs in the building and the restaurant will give you a voucher for 1 hour of free parking.

I wanted to like this place so bad. The atmosphere and set up is really nice. The food on the other hand not the best and certainly not worth the price. The poached pear salad was excellent. Steer clear of the short rib gnocchi. I love short rib and I love gnocchi. I have had them together before and they can be amazing. However instead of eating a delicious delicacy, I felt like I was eating plain ol' meat and potatoes. It lacked flavor and creativity. The baked penne tasted like it came out of a box and had way too much cheese on the top.

Where else can you linger over carpaccio and calamari with a glass of Italian red and watch the original Hepburn and Bogie "Sabrina" (without sound). This is the kind of neighborhood place Lucia is, where wines are grouped under the names of 50's and 60's classic American movie stars. I will warn however that the high, unfinished ceiling and cement floors now so "in" in the Seattle scene make for a high decibel level. However, if you persevere (through a couple of showings of the movie), the place begins to empty and seem almost intimate. The lack of bread sticks with the carpaccio was a slight disappointment, outweighed handily by the amazing Lucia focaccia! A shout-out is warranted for the young wait staff which here is unusually attentive and efficient for Seattle. I would go again.

Never heard of Lucia before I found a Living Social deal for it and figured I would give it a shot. I am very disappointed by most Italian in America, since I lived in Italy for a bit. Not here. It was great and somewhat authentic. Every dish was prepared with care and tasted even better than it looked. Must try!! Great for lunch, HH, or dinner!

Well this was a nice unexpected happening. My wife and I were on our way home from a medical procedure that required me to fast for about 36 hours so I wanted something good but I also wanted something NOW and we were in the Northgate/Greenlake neighborhood. I wanted to stop at PCC for a couple of goodies and we parked such that Lucia was on our walk there. After quickly looking over the menu in the window I said let's give it a try and I'm glad we did. Atmosphere is nice - on the cool, hardwood and metal side - and on an early Monday afternoon the place was mostly empty so not noisy, though I'd predict it would get pretty loud when busy. Service was good but to be fair there were only three tables occupied. I quickly settled on the happy hour truffle pretzel and my wife on the penne Angelina. Both of us were very happy, though I will claim First Prize, as unfair as that might seem since I was actually breaking a fast. The pretzel is filled with four cheeses and fennel sausage along with roasted garlic, and this is a LARGE pretzel. I savored every bite. Did not sample wine (was prohibited by my doctor for the remainder of the day) so cannot even comment on the selection because I didn't tempt myself. Would definitely want to try this again but would probably only do so during quieter times of day after reading multiple other reviews about how loud the restaurant gets during busy times.

I love Lucia! Every time I go the food is fresh and delicious, service is great, and I love the decor. It can get a tad loud inside at times, but nothing too bothersome. I've tried the chicken saltimbocca and grilled salmon--yum!! Will be back again

Wow. I really wish I would have read the reviews first. Service was really terrible. How can this place survive? Food was mediocre at best. Meatballs (in their 'signature' dish) were completely overcooked and mush. Very disappointing. The best thing about this place is it's location. But frankly they don't deserve it. Developers....put something better here!

The food here is delicious. I always get the grilled romaine salad, and their entrees are all consistently good. However. I ONLY get takeout from here. This restaurant is so amazingly loud that I cannot have a conversation here. I want to like this restaurant so badly, but I just never do when I come here. For takeout it is excellent!

  • Adah M.

I was pretty shocked to see all the positive reviews for this restaurant. This place has a slick appearance like so many new places in Seattle, which is disappointing, but par for the course. My complaint is mainly about the food; I ordered the spaghetti marinara for $14.00. The sauce tasted like it came out of a can, and the parmesan on top looked and tasted like it came from the green container-type parmesan you find at Safeway. I was surprised that the entree didn't come with at least a salad. Also there was no bread basket as in many Italian restaurants. My friend and I had ordered drinks, but the food came out before we got them! The food tasted horrible and I felt bummed that I was spending $14 on something so poorly prepared and presented. I would never eat here again, nor would I recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This place is one of those, pretty-from-far-but-far-from-pretty type restaurants. The decor is inviting, trendy and cute. The food however-- horrible. Seattle sets the bar with their food scene, but the food served here is just plain bad. I got the prawn salad which had what seemed like a gallon of dressing on it. My husband got a pizza which he said was "okay." Our friends got the baked zitti which was so overloaded with cheese, one mentioned he was wondering if it was even a pasta dish. The location is great, which this establishment has going for it. I also noticed how all the staff was female, and as a woman, I have to wonder what the hiring ethic is there. Overall it seems great at a passing glance, but definitely won't be returning.

The ambiance is modern and mature, just what I like. We ordered the caprese for an appetizer and it was pretty average. I mean its hard to mess up caprese. I had the Chicken prosciutto for my entree and man was it good, I damn there cleaned my plate. The only downside was I can tell they were bit short staff in the kitchen but our waitress was very friendly and attentive and the food was worth it in the end. They have a very good HH that I want to try real soon.

I stumbled upon this little Italian restaurant on a Saturday evening with two girl friends. One of my friends is a vegan so she opted for the Quinoa plate & an bruschetta. The bruschetta was never brought out and when our 3 meals came to the table, the waiter dropped the plate of quinoa on the floor. So they finally brought out a new plate of quinoa and the plate of bruschetta WITH cheese after my friend asked without cheese. So she had to wait another 10-15 mins for her meal. In the end, they were apologetic about the mishaps. And offered to take the order of bruschetta and the quinoa entree off the bill as well as free dessert.

It's a good place for happy hour and late night food. Wouldn't be my dinner choice though. I had the Kobe burger I asked for rare but it was well done. My friend had the clams fettuccine and it was a smaller portion than what we expected. The stuffed mushrooms were great ...I think it was $8 for 8 pieces...kind of steep. Service was ----well let's just say our server came to ask if our food arrived after the busser just got cleaning our table. ----you are supposed to know if the food is on your guests table and check on them. I love the design of the place. Lots of windows and light. Outside area as well. Everything is clean and modern. I think I will just stick to the Olive Garden for pasta.

I was very excited to enjoy Lucia at GreenLake. I am so disappointed , Great decor, (horribly cheap chairs) , very loud (which can be ok) We had a reservation at 7:30 on a Saturday , didn't seem to need it but it is Super Bowl weekend Our server was very nice As we ate a large group was coming in to sit along the wall. They stood and congregated and were served drinks and crowded us seated in center. There standing and talking totally elevated the loudness, there was about 10-12 standing and all talking over each other , of course this could be a one time issue. The food was meh at best and the biggest reason I would say is the garlic. It's an addition not the main course. We had two appetizers, salad and four meals. All of them so full of garlic, everyone didn't finish their main course. Late night stomach issues will keep us away in the future Sorry to have to do a negative review but based on our experience and the other reviews , there is much work to be done

I love the location and atmosphere of this restaurant but we had lots of issues with our meal! Granted, we were a party of 10, but our server diligently took down our order on an iPad yet somehow almost everything came out wrong. - Food took forever - A lactose intolerant member of our party asked about an item coming with dairy on it and she was assured it wouldn't - it came out with cream all over the top (10 minutes later than everyone else's meal) - I asked for my eggs poached hard and they were runny - Someone else at the table with a different entree had their eggs poached hard when they didn't ask for it, however their Benedict came with hollandaise when she requested it without - 2 of the meals came out 15 minutes after the rest - We made a reservation far in advance yet the staff seemed surprised to see us and were confused as to why there weren't more staff on the schedule to accommodate us I will say, everyone was really nice and willing to help but it was total chaos! I'm sure they're just working out the links from being new so I will update this review next time I'm here! Good luck Lucia!

Really surprised to read some of the glowing reviews here. We tried Lucia last year and were very underwhelmed, but thought maybe we'd give it another try - sadly, it confirmed our first impressions. The place looks very stylish and the menu sounds tempting, but twice we have found the food mediocre at best. Filet mignon with butternut squash gnocci sounded fantastic. The gnocchi were bland and the steak was small, somewhat overcooked, and had a peculiar mealy texture - I have no idea how you do that to a filet. Spaghetti bolognese was a large bowl of pasta with a skimpy amount of sauce, and it was not very flavorful. On the other hand, the bread with balsamic dipping sauce was good. Service was pleasant and prompt, but our server didn't seem particularly interested in whether we actually enjoyed the meal. She never checked to see if the steak was cooked properly, and when she finally did swing by and ask how everything was, I hesitated and then replied with a somewhat reluctant "It's...OK." She simply breezed off as if she wasn't really listening to the answer, just going through the motions. When she came back to clear the table, she noted my largely-uneaten bowl of pasta and just asked if I wanted it boxed up. When I said no, she just moved on to trying to sell us dessert. We won't be back.

Great food at a high price. The servers are attentive but one of the bartenders was rude. If you go you have to try the saltimbocca!

I was so happy when this Greenlake location opened up! This place has delicious appetizers and the happy hour or groupon make it a no brainier. Reasonably priced entrees as well, and big enough portions to split. Haven't had a dish that I didn't like. I would rate this 5 stars but the happy hour wine selection wasn't great. Overall would definitely recommend!

Wow, swing and a miss to the new restaurant. My girlfriend and I stop by for happy hour today (one week after their soft opening) to check out the spot. The concept looks like a copycat Mamma Melina or, more appropriately, a large version of List, but it's the second restaurant of Lucia - the first is in Kirkland. I order two beers (in addition to the rest of our order of food and drink). The menu says beers are $4, but the drafts don't come in until next week. No biggie, I'll take a 12 oz bottle (not a 16 oz draft). When the tab comes, my bottles are $5. The server politely explains that bottles aren't on happy hour. I don't dispute this point, but when drafts ARE on the menu and are also unavailable, perhaps charging the menu price (even though it's a smaller portion) would be more appropriate? The server says she'll see what she can do. The manager comes by and apologizes, but says that they can't "discount" bottles. I politely explain that I'm not asking for a discount, but for the honoring of a price on the menu. Embroiled in technicalities, the manager derogatorily asks me if she should pull $2 out of the register for me. No, I explain, I don't want to be patronized, I just wanted to understand why I would be charged more for less product when the main product is unavailable. I had to pay the $5. Here's why this is important: When you're an upscale business with $30+ entrees on the menu, you don't send in backup to argue with the customer over $2, then try to humiliate the customer. Even if you think I'm wrong, you eat it and revise tomorrow's happy hour menu. This is the type of service you get from this place. I was exceedingly nice and had chatted with several of the staff as we were being seated. I was not upset, and I was respectful and left a very good tip. Here's the kicker: I live across the street and will never recommend this place to anyone, ever. I explicitly gave the manager the chance to reconsider their position, and she declined. And now you will never receive my business, my friends' business, or my family's business. How's that $2 treating you?

We went for a girlfriends birthday. There was about 13 of us there. The waiter was not happy that there was so many of us very short and actually rude! I requested water a a drink from the bar. He said I already had my water, I explained I did not have a glass and may a rude comment like it was my problem for him to get me one! He did bring me a water and someone else's drink I stored the drink and he grabbed it from and have it to anther person at out table.. Glad I know her!! When it came to ordering he was so worried about messing things up. He was again short and rude with his service. He could cash all out together could only handle 3 tickets at a time.. He did validate out parking tickets but did had to pay when we left! Long story short... Don't go with large party and don't stay long.

We stopped by Lucia a couple of days ago, without reservations, with a 7-1/2 year old, and on a Friday night. We were pleased to be able to get a table without a wait, and equally happy to find a kids menu. The restaurant layout was great, and the black-and-white Audrey Hepburn version of the movie Sabrina on the big screen kept our daughter occupied (and full of interesting questions). The menu was intriguing and there were a number of dishes that we were interested in. We placed our orders and had drinks in hand. We got, and enjoyed, our salad and then ... we waited. And waited. And waited some more. About 30 minutes after we had clearly finished our salad we still hadn't seen hide nor hair of our waiter, so we flagged someone down and he went and tracked down our food (the truffle spaghetti and meatballs, a pizza for my wife, and a pizza for my daughter). They brought our daughter's pizza out straight away and it was clearly good because she devoured it. Our food came out about 5 minutes later, and while my truffle spaghetti was great, my wife's pizza was hard, dried out, and pretty much what you would get if you left a frozen pizza in an oven for 30 minutes too long. We would've sent it back and ordered something new ... if our waiter ever bothered to check in on us. Sadly, he didn't, so we had to flag down someone else. By the time we found our waiter, my wife ate half my dinner and so much time had passed overall that we were pretty much done. We did end up with an apology, the hockey-puck pizza removed from our bill, and an offer of a free dessert. All together, I'm giving it 3/5 stars. Pluses were the ambiance and the pasta. Minuses were the pizza and the service. Hopefully it's just bugs being worked out of a new place, and we'll probably give them another try in a few months.

A friend and I had dinner at Lucia on a Thursday. I live in the neighborhood, but it was my first time there. The restaurant was hopping, and there was some filming (a commercial or something) going on by the bar. The vibe is cool, but the service and food were very uneven. We enjoyed the pear and gorgonzola pizzetta (it would be better with some bacon or prosciutto on it, and it would be nice if the servers could actually pronounce it correctly). The entrees were just OK. The signature spaghetti was fairly tasteless, and the meatballs had big, inedible, gristly chunks in them. The most annoying part of the evening was our server gossiping about what was going on in the other part of the restaurant. Without us asking, she pointed out some Seahawks players, and someone she identified as Russell Wilson's assistant. We didn't ask, and we really didn't care, but she was intent on letting us know how special it was that they were there. Needless to say, that didn't make us feel very special. I might go back and give the bar a chance, but I doubt I will return for dinner.

Delicious food! My friends and I went here for Sunday dinner. It was a little pricey but all of us loved the food. The short ribs and gnocchi was heavenly. One of the best meals I've had in a while. The appetizer bread for snacking was tasty too. The staff is definitely still learning. They weren't very knowledgeable about how the food was prepared but were polite and asked the chef for me. I also don't care for the cold, sterile atmosphere. There isn't a single piece of art in the whole place so don't come here for a cozy get together. I would still recommend it though!

Figured the original Lucia in Kirkland's fairly established since the late 1980s, so decided to try Lucia - Green Lake with the family. Very interesting what was done with the former Vitamilk plant - this restaurant, exercise/yoga businesses, and the new PCC store. What struck me upon arriving is that it has the same vibe as Mamma Melina's in UVillage, except polar opposite in color scheme. There's natural light, but dark colors, sparse décor, modern lighting. I liked that one can come as you are without the need of reservations - some were in after work garb, some smartly dressed, some looked like they just did a walk/run around Green Lake, and us in T-shirts/jeans. Mixed clientele - families, couples, older folks, after work groups for HH, and celebratory groups. Bar area, main restaurant area, and outdoor seating were fairly full. While the reception staff weren't as warm, our wait person LeAnna was very pleasant, professional, and always checked in on us - kept us well hydrated too! Meal starts out with complimentary cheesy-herby focaccia with a creamy balsamic vinaigrette dipping sauce. Focaccia easily could be served by itself or with a little olive oil instead. Starter: Calamari Fritti with Aioli ($11). Served piping hot from the kitchen in a very generous portion to share. Interesting that it was only rings and no tentacles. Entrees: Entrée Cobb ($15) with romaine, gorgonzola chunks, gorgonzola dressing, cherry tomatoes, bacon, avocado, black olives, and a fried egg on top. This is very large and bit heavy on the dressing. Bacon and avocado were perfect! Chicken Parmigiana ($18) with a modest serving of al dente pasta. The chicken was 'a bit dry', but the sauce was' just a little salty'. The glass of Quattro Mani Montepulciano d'Abuzzo ($7) was 'delightful'. Spaghetti Bolognese ($15) was an ample serving devoured by the kiddo. Dessert (all selected were $7 each): Tiramisu - Next time I'll pass. It was a sponge, not ladyfingers and needed more espresso/rum soaking. The rest of it was okay, cute design with cocoa to make up for the large serving plate, but unnecessary. Amaretto Gelato - Sirena, two generous scoops with a raspberry and mint leaf. It was 'just what was expected'. Chocolate Souffle - This is what held up the dessert service, because this has to be made a la minute. Essentially a rich chocolate lava cake with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. Of the three desserts, this was the best one. BTW - If no street parking available, park underneath and make sure to buy something at PCC afterwards (free 90 minute validated parking). Dinner total with tax and tip was a hair under $115. A bit pricey for food that was just okay. Glad to give it a try, but will stick with our other Italian favorites elsewhere. Not bad if one met up with others for HH or dessert and adds to the restaurant choices proximate to Green Lake. If there was a score just for the service, I'd give it a solid four. Food though was just a three.

I went to Lucia for happy hour with a girlfriend. Yes, there are still a few kinks that need to be worked (e.g. no beer on tap) out but overall we had a positive experience. We ordered the caramelized onion pizzetta, the beef carpaccio, and the caprese, For dessert, we had the creme brûlée The food was tasty and the prices were reasonable. The creme brûlée seemed like it had been sitting around for a while and it was served with soup spoons HOWEVER our waiter was quick to offer a replacement. I live in Green Lake and certainly plan to add Lucia to my happy hour rotation.

Would definitely try this place again for dinner! Came for Dine Around Seattle lunch at about 1:30pm mid-week. Place had three other tables of patrons, so I didn't feel too awkward dining alone. The waitress, who was also playing hostess (any maybe also cooking my food? I kid, but seriously, maybe she was!) ran the entire place efficiently, but most impressively, made me feel at ease and paced my meal perfectly despite running the place alone. I should note, two other tables came in while I was dining, and she seated them, took their orders, and still waited on me fluidly without missing a beat and with a smile on her face. Impressive. Food was delicious. I opted for the Caesar salad (perfectly dressed, yummy croutons, fresh lettuce), chicken cannelloni (HUGE portion! Could easily be shared by two people because of how rich the sauce is and how much chicken was stuffed into each of the two cannelloni), and the tiramisu (one of the best I've had-- and it's what I order and judge Italian restaurants by--and I secretly wished the portion had been larger even though I was stuffed and barely had room for it in the first place!). The house red accompanied the meal nicely and was a steal at $5/glass. I appreciated that the waitress let me try it before ordering, because I was wavering between the red and white. I will say that while I didn't order off the normal lunch menu, I scanned it and there were several tempting options that sounded unique enough to bring me back to Lucia versus one of my other typical go-to Italian places. Prices are a little steep for lunch, unless it's a business lunch and someone else is picking up the tab! ;) The decor is gorgeous. I went on a sunny day, and the way the light filled the entire space made it feel airy and upscale, even though I wore jeans. I'm sure at night it's a trendy place to be seen, as well as very romantic. Can't wait to bring my beau and see what he thinks! Go; I doubt you'll regret it.

nicely decorated, but below average foods at best. Slapped together with no presentation. too much cheese and pastas were all overdone and soggy. Only 1 type of wine glasses. No red wine glasses. Tiramisu was ok, but not great. Service was below average. Staff looked like they couldn't wait to go home. they need to hire a real chef to plan menu and execute (not a line cook). Parking is for 1 hour only. I will go check again in a few months and hope they improved.

I've been excited for this place to open for months. I've been here about five times due to the proximity to my residence and haven't been disappointed once. They have a great happy hour, just like the Kirkland location, a great wine list, and great crab cakes! I can't wait to try brunch.

Dear Lucia, You were the new kid on the block in my neighborhood and I was hoping we would be friends. The first time I had your meatballs, the week before you officially opened, I fell in love and had hope. Then last night I met up with my husband and friends for happy hour and had two orders of those beloved meatballs. Well, our love affair is over, I will never go back to your restaurant. My husband and I spent all night puking those meatballs out of our system, and what passed through the stomach is now coming out in chocolaty streams this morning. Fire the rookie of a cook you had on last night at your Green Lake location. He/she is losing you customers. Rosita's is still my love after almost 20 years of a blemish-less relationship! Perhaps you can learn something from them?

Great to have a fine dinning experience in the Greenlake area without having to drive downtown. The ambiance was fantastic and loved all the windows. looking forward to when they are open for lunch the natural lighting will make this a great place a nice lunch. Now onto my dinner.. start off with the Caesar & Kale Salad, and was glad to see they are offering a salad with Kale and parmegiano reggiano made it a great salad to start my meal off with. I went with the Spaghetti Bolognese, since I have not had any good Bolognese in many year. It was amazing. you can tell that they use fresh ingredient and that make all the difference to me when I look for a place to treat myself. Speaking of treats, even though I was full I just had to try one of my favorite deserts tiramisu. It was an artful masterpiece. it had the look the taste and the texture I expect from a tiramisu. The staff was friendly and curious to me. this should be on all locals spots to tryout

Pretty lousy service. Mediocre food. Made my 89 year old father in law feel bad because his coffee was brought cold. His cannelloni was unappetizing. Our pizza crust was sub par. It is in nice location though.

Welcome to the neighborhood Lucia! They picked a great location and the decor is modern, trendy and clean. But that's about it.... Gave it our first try last night! Food was meh. I had the Bruschetta and it was more on the sweeter side and made with cherry tomatoes. I also ordered the Caesar and Kale salad. My impression was that it would be like a traditional caesar but with Kale. Sounds delish! It was not. The dressing was like an italian dressing and ALSO very sweet. It drenched the salad. I took two bites and put my fork down. Bleh! We ate in the bar and the bartender asked if I was done with the salad I mentioned it wasn't good (I obviously only had two bites... there's a full plate of salad left). She apologized and took the plate away. I don't mention these things very often and when I do, I remain very polite since I've been a server and a bartender I make extra effort to be nice to the waitstaff. So you can imagine, I was very surprised to see the salad on our bill when we left. Wow, really? I didn't need the $7.50 back. But it would have been a great gesture to ensure my business in the future. We do dine out often and for sure, will not be back to Lucia in Greenlake.

Overall we had a nice time here with a group of girlfriends. Great location and clean contemporary decor with a nice bar. Gave only 3 stars because the service left something to be desired and the food was good but not great. The chicken parm was amazing, the risotto was good. The gnocchi was a bit gummy and the pizza appetizer was a little doughy and had raw walnuts on top. I feel like they could be great if they work out the kinks.

The ambiance is cute and that staff is friendly. But, the food is overpriced and I had the worst customer service experience with the manager at this location. I came with a large group (about 18) and appreciated the attention they gave us - until the end. I had to wait THIRTY MINUTES to get my check back. I was the last one in my whole group to get the bill. I went back and asked my server what was going on, and he said they were having a technical difficulty. I went back 15 minutes later to talk to the manager, and she blamed it completely on our table size. She said there was no technical difficulty, and it was our fault because our party was too big. Why did the restaurant accept a party that big then? Why did they offer to split our checks? They could have said no multiple times, instead their disorganization and chaos resulted in an unacceptable wait with a rude manager who did nothing. She didn't even listen to my feedback, instead kept coming up with excuses. I would not recommend this restaurant.

The stars are for the waiter, who was nice and professional. The food gets no stars. We ordered carpaccio and tasted only mustard. The halibut was so saucy, it could have been anything. The wine - we were surprised by the poisonous taste of my husband's wines. He ordered 2 different ones from the same winery. As a restaurant, why carry something do bad? Mine was fine.

i went to the new Lucia at Greenlake. [open only a week] i love the inside. great space. food is good. i had the truffle spaghetti. bartender was polite and friendly. booze selection is severely lacking. i wanted a martini, but only two gins. one ok, one should be labeled vodka - hendricks and sapphire. i am told the booze order didn't arrive, so they opened unprepared. no quality dry vermouth. when i asked about the wines on the list the bartender told me she has only tasted some of the whites. she didn't know the reds. apparently, there is no sommelier on staff since that wasn't offered. my trip was mostly disappointment. I'll go back in two weeks. definitely not a craft cocktail bar or upscale restaurant at the moment. go to Eva, Nells, Oliver's Twist.

Came to dinner with group of 8. Most of us ordered salads; one salad was served 15 min. before everyone else's orders were served. Two of us ordered blackened salmon salad - one was perfectly cooked; mine had half raw salmon. I pointed this out to server, and she said that that was the way it was supposed to be. It's the way the chef makes it. She took the food back. Almost everyone at our table finished their food by the time my new plate arrived. It was a new piece of salmon and salad. Once again only partially cooked - partially raw. Called back the server. She said the chef using a thermometer cooked it to 140 degrees. (It probably was on the cooked part.) It was cool to the touch on the raw part. They did comp my order. Some suggestions: serve everyone at about the same time, don't make excuses, servers try not to roll your eyes. I won't be going back. Ever.

I have been trying to get a hold of a manager or preferably the owner of Lucia Greenlake for quite some time. The memory on their voicemail box is full which just adds on to the list of disappointments I have experienced with this restaurant. Additionally, there is no email address or another way to get in touch with anyone there. I had a reservation for a larger party on June 25th that went HORRIBLY wrong. The service was a complete disaster. Dishes were missing, drinks were never brought out, the bartender had a horrible attitude. Even when we first arrived, the table wasn't even set up, not enough menus on the table. I had been planning this surprise birthday dinner for months and had spoken to a few people at the restaurant about the details of the reservation. I was pretty specific so it would be easy for them to accommodate. I was completely embarrassed of my restaurant choice when I found out we didn't even have a server, just the bartender who clearly did not want to be there and could not handle our table. Besides people ordering drinks and not receiving them, when the check came, EVERY single ticket was wrong. EVERY single one. The "manager" the whole time was not engaged whatsoever. At the end of the night when I had enough, I went to talk to him and told him how I was disappointed, especially because we are all in the restaurant industry and nothing would ever happen like this or be tolerated where we work. He said he knew we were upset and that the service was horrible and they were short staffed. If he knew we were upset, why did he not come over and help, try and remedy the situation, and apologize??! I really couldn't even comprehend it. Then he said sorry, had me write down my name, phone number and address and said he was sending a $100 gift card to us in hopes we come back. Its been almost a month, no one has contacted me, nothing in the mail, no phone calls answered, and voicemail box full. I really can't believe the customer service of this restaurant.

I came here with a few friends and the customer service was beyond terrible. My friends and I waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive (we all ordered very simple brunch items) and we had to remind 2 different waiters in order for our friend to get the coffee he ordered within the first 5 minutes of sitting down (he finally received it AFTER we were served our food). We never received an apology for the long wait for our food, either. As we were trying to leave, it took quite a while to receive our bill. A waitress, who never served us the entire time, came by to give us an unnecessary rant about how her manager started our bill but randomly left, so no one knew where the bill was, where he left off, or what was going on. She seemed disgruntled and as if she was looking for people to vent to. We would have preferred an apology for the long wait rather than an unprofessional rant at this point. We were seated outside and would occasionally glance inside the restaurant to try and flag down our waiter, or anyone really. But all the workers were bunched up in a group, looking like they were joking around and having conversations inside an almost empty restaurant. Most of the customers at the time were all seated outside, so you would think there would be at least a server on stand by for any kind of assistance. The food was subpar and will not be a reason to come back either. They do serve your table with a bottle of water for refills right away at the beginning, which is great. Otherwise, it may have taken us an hour alone to get someone to refill our waters at all. If you're looking for a place to waste your time waiting for your food and not receive any kind of service, this is the perfect place for you. As for us, we won't be returning.

Great food and good service. Nice ambiance. After reading some of the reviews we were nervous about trying Lucia. Thankfully, we had a great experience and attributed most of the poor reviews to new restaurant syndrome. Everything we ordered was delicious. Their dishes do include garlic, which we love, and should be expected from any Italian restaurant.

We have had two great experiences here both with two kids under 5. Sat outside and our waitstaff was great. You can tell they are still working out the bugs as the servers didn't know the menus well. However, we are thrilled with the food and another Green Lake option.

Glad to see a nice restaurant in the Green Lake area. I've eaten/happy hour'd here about six times. Usually the food has been OK. But, when I and my date ate there for dinner was disappointed. We ordered the wild salmon salad, the waitress said that they now are serving farmed salmon - really? for the price of wild? She checked with the kitchen to find that they now are serving wild so ordered it not sure if we were getting wild or not. Our "wild" salmon was overcooked and dry, the rest of the salad just dressed greens - not interesting. Should have sent it back. Also, the dining area is quite loud.

Trendy place near Green Lake with mediocre food and marginal service. Second visit due to location convenience, however won't be back due to second negative experience. This time for brunch, scramble served with sausage or bacon, neither were offered or provided. When server asked if scramble included sausage or bacon, he replied it was but we had to ask for it otherwise it was bacon. We asked then where's the bacon? He hadn't offer either and didn't apologize for not bringing bacon. Eventually did get sausage, which was good, bacon and scrambled eggs had spent a long time in warmer and potatoes and eggs were bland. Other order was for French toast, had to ask for syrup and butter twice. No management evident, also no offers of refills of coffee or tee. Brunch about $20 pp with tax and tip and no alcohol, which might have helped numb the poor experience.

Went in on a Saturday afternoon. Discovered they don't have a lunch menu and only brunch on weekends--which by the way there is no mention of that on their website! Need to add a brunch menu on wkends to inform customers on their website. Therefore, was offered the dinner menu at around 2:30 pm. Ordered the Pasta Carbonora and spouse ordered a chicken dish (can't remember the name). Food was ok....how could you go wrong with a pasta carbonora? I've had better and for the price it definitely was overpriced for the quality. Lastly, the server wasn't very attentive (mind you it was a Saturday afterrnoon and not busy at all!) Overall, was disappointed and probably only a place I would go for happy hour. You have way better options for dinner where the quality is better and will get better service.

I was pretty impressed with the place. Nice outdoor seating, cool interior with old movies playing on a projector, BOMB bread at the table, perfect crabcakes (though the arugula was slightly wilted), and the best filet mignon I've ever had. The server was a nice kid too, chatty and personable and efficient. That was the first time. The second time, one of our medium-rare steaks was pretty much just rare, but the other one was perfect. There was a little mix-up about potatoes vs. butternut gnocchi (which are both delicious!), but no big deal. They're still just getting started, but if they can keep up the quality of the food and communication between servers and chefs, this place is going to be amazing. It's definitely a little on the pricey side, but I don't mind too much, because I love how empty the place still is :) I definitely expect this place to become popular soon, especially once they get alcohol in.

We really wanted to like this place. Living in the area, we were so excited for a new nice restaurant as an option. It started off badly when we were seated outside at the back of the patio away from all of the other patrons. The man who sat us told us we would be well taken care of by the bartender. We most definitely were not. Our service was slow, our order was incorrect and it took close to a half hour for our server to come out so we could ask for our proper order to arrive despite asking a bus boy and another server to send him out. The Kale salad was good, the flat bread pizza was good-- the crab cake sliders were a huge disappointment. They were two small crab cakes drenched in sauce, onions and placed on a full size burger bun. After waiting 45 min or so for our correct pizza to arrive the bartender apologized and said he took 50% off of its cost for the incorrect order and the wait -- that showed on our incredibly confusing bill as a $3.00 savings. Well, that wasn't very generous. So, overall, expensive for poor service, mediocre food and a happy hour that should have taken maybe an hour but resulted in over an hour and a half sitting on a wind tunnel like patio out back.

I live on the Eastside, but have eaten here twice and will definitely be back. the decor and service make a very pleasant meal great. The menu has lots to choose from, but the Bolognese sauce is one of the best I have ever had. You can order it with spaghetti or in the baked penne dish, Meaty and flavorful. My daughter had the truffle spaghetti and loved it, and we devoured the pizzete appetizer with pear, gorgonzola and caramelized onions. That was really terrific! No room for dessert, but I hear their chocolate souffle is amazing. And how wonderful to have Audrey Hepburn watching over us on the big screen.

We went to Lucia right when it opened and the service was not great. Our waitress acted like she was stoned and didn't know anything about the food. We just gave it another try since they've had a little time to figure it out. Our server (the receipt said Rachel C) was awesome! The food was awesome! I'm super excited to have a cute, fun place in Greenlake. We'll definitely be back often. My only suggestion is heat lamps and an awning outside. The patio is such a pretty spot to have dinner but it will be useless most of the year without some modification.

My wife and I walked Green Lake Sunday and we looked for a brunch in the business area and came across Lucia who were providing samples of bruschetta and a pasta dish to passers by. Based upon that very nice introduction we decided to give it a try. We had the salmon salad and the Caprese Panini. We sat outside as it was a nice sunny day. Good service, good food, good location. We will be back.

I have been here twice, each time with one other person. I'm in the neighborhood, and so glad this type of place has finally arrived in Greenlake. After reading the other reviewers I must say I didn't experience any of their problems with the staff, management or prices. I found the wait staff spot on, although perhaps too attentive when we wanted to visit a bit upon arrival. The wines by the glass were delicious. The Fig & Olive crostini is the best I've had outside Italy. I've tried the truffle spaghetti and meatballs, pancetta carbonara, clam linguini and house salad. All were flavorful and nicely plated, and had a flair that just isn't there in most neighborhood Italian joints. The portions are plentiful and in each case we took half of each entree home for lunch. The manager, David, seemed genuinely interested in how our experience was going. Just a note, people were dressed in everything from yoga pants, shorts to party dresses and ties. It's for everyone, sort of like this neighborhood. I will be a regular here.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
