Went to check out the new Queen Anne spot this week-unfortunately I never made it to Veil because it's such an odd location, so I hope Laredo does better than the former residents. Immediately, it reminds me a little to much of Peso's - it's super popular Queen Anne sister. The menu is somewhat similar, as is the decor. Laredo does have a bit more of a down home, casual feel however. I was immediately surprised with how CHEAP their menu is. Definitely a great price point to compete against most of the other high-end restaurants in lower Queen Anne. The food = meh. I wasn't in love. I split shrimp tacos with my sister. They only came with one shrimp a piece in each taco! The beans and rice were well seasoned. A girlfriend of mine ordered the carne asada, which was good. But I still think Peso's carne asada hits it out of the park. Another girlfriend of mine ordered the potato-filled flautas, which were literally flavorless. We had to dip them in beans and salsa to make them edible. I also tried this famous avocado margarita, which I didn't love as much as everyone else. It just tasted like a lime margarita, so I felt like I was drinking a fat shake- the avocado just added calories, not flavor. The sangria, however, I thought was fab! I will give this place another try, however. Perhaps for happy hour. I did find the bar inviting, and I would like to support a local place in my neighborhood!

went here for brunch the other day. the service was extremely slow - took us an hour to get our food (but blame that on the really slow kitchen - only two cooks and the place was packed. ironically, one of the only times that we could say that there were not enough cooks in the kitchen...). but it also took way too long to get our check when we were obviously waiting to leave, so its not all on the kitchen. note on the food: the eggs in my chilaquiles were undercooked. and by undercooked i mean i found clear raw "whites" in there. my friend also got the chilaquiles and had the same raw situation, so that actually made me feel better. he also decided just to go for it. i figured if it was good for rocky, it'd be good for me. this spot still gets a 2 because my friends said they went for brunch a few weeks ago and it was excellent (the place was empty... correlation?). i had also been there for a decent dinner a couple months back. the other saving grace is the amount of hot asses walking in and out. but honestly, i'd rather wait for a table at pesos. or maybe next time i wont walk in wearing my NY GIANTS hat... go GMEN!

Awesome food and atmosphere. Love Margarita Mondays! Great neighborhood Mexican restaurant.

Great place and excellent food! The queso was great, and as close to what I used to get when I lived in Texas. Parking is a bit of a pain in this part of town, but it's well worth circling the block a few times for Laredos.

We've been here a couple times with friends later in the night for a drink. I'm the only one in our party who ever really likes the avocado margarita, but I can't stomach a whole glass. The sangria isn't particularly yummy (just average) and though the service is fairly friendly, I really don't fancy heading back any time soon.

You know that show Man vs. Food on the Travel Channel where the host does outrageous eating challenges? I could battle the carne asada fries at Laredos. These are nachos on steriods with fries instead of chips. I am obsessed with these. It comes on a supersized platter bigger than my ass and after consuming this I pretty much grow a second ass overnight. Bring on the chili con queso please. Warm saucy cheese dip to die for. Saucy, not thick and synthetic. They tease you with a small bowl and the next thing you know there is not a drop left so you have order another one. Laredos also has me loving fish tacos again. Weird this place used to be Veil. Now it fits in the neighborhood.

This is my neighborhood hang out spot. The food is alright, but I more so go here for the affordable happy hour and a late night drink. The avocado margarita is remarkably tasty and their $2 Tecates make for a great happy hour, which runs early evening and from 10-12am. The chips and salsa and guacamole are great, and I've had the el pastor tacos which are small but satisfying. Beyond that, I'd have to agree with the other reviews that the food is overpriced for its taste. However, the service is friendly and quick, so I go here often with larger groups for greats drinks and smaller plates.

After walking into Laredos and sitting down I wasn't sure what the procedure was to get food or drinks. I have realized that it must be; bring your own, or serve yourself, because after ordering our drinks with, what we thought was a waitress, and waited there for twenty minutes we noticed that the employees didn't seem to care what the customers wanted. Since we did not feel like going behind the bar to make our own and we forgot to bring our own food and drinks, we felt that maybe a different place would be better. Bottom line, go to Laredos if you would like some alone time, but if you are hungry or want some drinks head down the street to several other better places.

This is the BEST Sunday Funday destination in all of Seattle!! Not only do they have a delicious $6 breakfast menu, they have the great Torta known to man!! The service is friendly and always remembers me when I come in! I recommend it to anyone (over 21) to come in and join me for a lovely morning of mimosas, Mexican sandwiches, and fun!!!

yum avocado margarita. Jalapeno and tamarind also on the menu. And i love michelada but just dont see it too many places. Chips and salsa are delicious. Love the avocado and smokey ones they bring you for your tacos. Cute little patio and a nice inside. If only i got to this part of queen anne more. Glad i finally made it.

Favourite weekend brunch. I love Voulas, Maltby, Patty's, Portage Bay and Beth's but for $6 and a lot of great Mexican food makes it a top choice.

Better food than at most other Mexican restaurants. Now authentic? Can't really tell, just like most people who aren't Mexican can't answer that question. But it tastes great! One thing that made me pretty mad just yesterday.....we went for a happy hour yesterday and sat at 5.45 pm. We were deciding what to get and at exactly 6 pm we ordered food. The waitress said the happy hour was over. We "protested", saying we walked in at 5.45 pm, but her answer was that it was 6 pm now and the computer wouldn't let her use happy hour prices. Which is a lot of BS. The only thing she thought of was the 15-20% of her tip, which doubles as the prices double once happy hour is over. Won't make me cross this place from my list, but it certainly made me write this review.

I LOVE having this place in my hood! I'm FROM Austin, so the Austinatious menu makes me smile BIG. The happy hour menu is great, the margaritas are strong, and the bartender is friendly. Coming from Tex-Mex country I cannot give this place 5 stars for it's food (I'm spoiled) but it's pretty darn good.

  • Drew M.

This place isn't bad, but it's not great. I've been here twice already and I can't see myself becoming a regular. The tacos are really really small and not that exceptional. Maybe it's just that I'm expecting the tacos that everyone is used to (meat, beans, cheese, etc.) but I wasn't impressed with them. The beans and rice are really good though as well as the salsa, which is really tasty (I wish I had their recipe or knew where they got it.). They finally have iced-tea which is a plus and it's rather good too. I was much more impressed with my girlfriend's quesadillas which were very tasty. Don't let my review detract you from trying this place and making your own opinion, Laredos is still fairly new and coming into its own, they are doing a lot of things well, and some things need some polishing.

Stopped in tonight with some friends who live up the street from the place. Very busy for a thursday night but we were able to get a seat immediately, yay! Chips and salsa came and the salsa, which is hit or miss at a lot of places, was yummy! The three of us scarfed both down pretty quickly and were promptly refilled. Ordered our food. I had the chicken enchiladas, and one friend had the fish tacos and the other had some sort of pork tenderloin tacos I believe. We all were incredibly happy with our meals! I love that they give you grilled veggies like red onions, squash and red and green bell peppers with your meal, so tasty. Plates were cleared quickly and checks brought out, even separated for us, in a timely fashion. Not so fast though to make it seem like we were being rushed. Anyways, perfect meal, perfect service, will definitely be hitting this place up on a regular basis!

Another 4 star-er. I would probably give 4 and a half, buuuut Yelp still hasn't figured that out yet. C'mon dudes. Let us use the half stars. After a disappointing trip to the 1st ever Taco Truck Challenge in SLU, we decided after an hour of waiting to skip the next hour of waiting and go to Laredo's instead. At this point we're all starving so anything sounds good, but at this place it's actually hard to pick because there are so many tasty options. We started with drinks. Most of us ordered the Mexican Shanty which is like a combination drink. Margarita + beer = super delicioso. The only problem was, our second round didn't have enough margarita and mostly just had beer. Let's be consistent people! I ordered the carnitas tacos which were good and spicy, I only wished my plate came with some guacamole on the side like my brother's who ordered the tacos al carbon. He traded me a taco for a taco though and I was content. Also the tacos, while they look kiddy size, are actually the appropriate amount. I love portion control! The rice and beans are to die for. I don't normally like Spanish rice, but I couldn't get enough of theirs. Mmm. I want more just thinking about it. It's best to go during happy hour since their deals are awesome. My one complaint: don't charge for chips and salsa! All Mexican places should have free chips and salsa for the patrons that are eating there. Just sayin... Ole!

We brought about 22 of our friends here for a birthday dinner and had a great time! Our server was totally on top of things, the food came out hot and timely (love the quesadillas and the shrimp tacos). The bar kept up with our orders and to top it all off she was able to split our checks up. Just for that I'll give you an extra star!

Fantastic tex mex! I had their carne asada which I am used to being fairly tough, but their was tender, easy to cut and absolutely delicious! I decided to try something different and ordered their 'famous' avacado margarita, it was so delicious! if it wasnt lunchtime I would have ordered another, and I'm not a drinker. Great waitress as well.

I recently went back when a friend from out of town was visiting and they have revamped their menu to include some tasty vegetarian items. Laredos has a somewhat limited happy hour menu and as an added bonus, they have a small outdoor seating area for nice weather days. I would definitely return for margaritas and appetizers.

New chef alert!!! I was there at the soft opening, once for a bar night, once for a date night - with medium inner reviews - it was a cool bar with fine food. My husband and I were there Friday night for another go-round...HOLY SMOKES! This place now ROCKS! The drinks have always been good, but the food from the salsa to the house salad to the tacos the food has catapulted to excellent! I'm telling you, I'd rather eat at home than to eat a so-so meal, the new chef at Laredos will have me coming back for FOOD, not just cocktails. I'm a believer!!!!! LOVING LAREDOS!

I've been to Laredo's a couple times, as it is the closest bar to my place. The food is good and the drinks are alright. The only downside is that the prices are a little higher than what I would have expected, even for wells. They seem to be adding more happy hour, as the previous 2 hours were kind of lacking. Hopefully they can get some lower-priced options on the menu.

Been here twice. Good food. Good sports on the TV. Chips and salsa rocks. Very authentic style Mexican. Good variety of drinks. I liked the atmosphere as well. Glad to see some Mexican food in the area. It's a nice change from the 100 Asian places in lower QA.

Great new addition to the lower eastside of Queen Anne where Veil was! Extensive remodel that is much more inviting including a corner entrance for the Howard Roark enthusiasts. The staff is really friendly, great atmosphere and food. I had the carne asada tacos that were perfect and reasonably priced (along with the rest of the menu) at I believe $ 9. Patron margaritas seemed slightly pricy at $12 each but maybe that's the going price. I don't really care and beers were reasonably priced. Bar stools are very cool and comfortable and it looks like they can accommodate larger parties in the back. They really opened up the place and made it cozy. Really - no complaints at all and very excited about the new addition to QA.

I go here for drinks. The food is really average, but the bar is cozy and tenders are super nice! Stay away from drinks that require muddling, I don't think that do that here! There's always a good crowd, but it is more relaxed with a neighborhood feeling, so I always feel comfortable.

This place was packed on Friday night but that's always a good sign. It was within walking distance from my friend's house. Tried the chicken mole enchiladas which was yummy but not the best mole sauce I've ever had. Food averages between 10-15$ and drinks are about $7. Try the sangria and frozen margaritas!

Get the Tacos Al Pastor, you won't regret it! $2.50 Tecates during happy hour and gotta love the Margaritas Mondays - all margaritas are $5! Atmosphere is great; even kids are welcome. Street parking is okay but it's the perfect neighborhood spot for those who live nearby.

$4.00 Happy hour - limited food and drink menu from 4-6 PM & from 10 PM-midnight (!). Good margaritas - $4.00 , really good salad - $4.00, good flautas - $4.00 + friendly service in a convivial atmosphere = full and happy for under $15.00 including tax & tip. I'll be back.

This place is awesome ! We live right down the street and have been wanting to try it forever but it is always so packed (now I know why). So we waited until we both had a free afternoon and decided to get lunch here. We had a coupon we got from the back of a QFC receipt (Buy one Entree get ONE FREE !) which you can still get by going to QFC. We sat on the patio in the sun and had great service by a speedy and friendly waiter. I ordered the black bean tacos which were so much more than that ! they were little heavenly tacos served with tons of flavor ! even the side of beans an rice was delicious and I usually dont eat that part. My boyfriend got a salad that was HUGE ! and he almost finished the entire plate it was sooo good ! also had raspberry lemonade that was fresh and delicious. Super Speedy service, great food, great atmosphere, great prices (especially for how much food you get). IF YOU HAVENT GONE HERE, HURRY UP AND GO !!!!!

Pork to die for! Great food, great service, not too noisy and even some parking spots, what more do you need? OK, how about everyone in the kitchen smiling and having a good time as they efficiently turn out food. On top of that it is not expensive, a great way to spend the evening.

Laredos is one of my go to favorite spots for brunch. It is a Mexican restaurant so the brunch is also Mexican themed but more breakfast style entrees. For the first few months I always had great service but our waitress no longer works here and now the waitresses I have been getting are not quite as good but this place is still worth going. The food is amazing and they have one of my favorite margaritas, the Pink Margarita!

Oh, Laredos, you're breaking my heart! I sooo want to love this place, since we live close by, and I had been eagerly anticipating the opening of what promised to be a fun, hip, casual little neighborhood restaurant -- exactly what we needed around here! We went on opening night and enjoyed it. The margaritas were yummy, the food was decent enough, and service was good. We've been a couple times since and it's just been downhill from there. Last night we went for happy hour. We ordered several different dishes and each dish was extremely bland and the meat was very dry. I can understand not everyone likes spicy food, but come on, people, this is supposed to be Tex-Mex! How about offering some dishes with some kick! I mean, it doesn't even taste like they salt anything. I had two margaritas, which were tasty but very weak. Now, I'm no lush, but a good margarita should have at least a standard shot of tequila, which is what complements the flavor of the drink. These tasted as if they were virgin drinks. I don't mind paying $8 for a decent margarita (I have to disagree with other reviewers' complaints about Laredos' drink prices, as I'd say that's about the going rate around here), but $8 for a virgin margarita doesn't fly with me. I will, however, say the service last night was pretty good. I will probably give Laredos another chance or two before throwing in the towel, just because I really want to see this place succeed and I would love to be a regular if things improve, but they're going to need to spice things up a bit, literally, for that to happen. Come on. Laredos, do me proud!!!

The location and atmoshpere are pretty cool but the pros end there. Being a big fan of Mexican food I naturally compare the food at Laredo's to other Seattle Mexican food joints such as Matador, Cactus, etc... and Laredo's food is way behind those other establishments. In addition, both my girlfriend and I felt that the server was trying to hurry us out the door.

Went here with a big group for a birthday party. The service was OK, but the food was very bland. There were 10 of us and we all tried different dishes and no one was very happy with their food. I think you can definitely find better food at similar places like Matador or Pesos.

They jacked up the prices a few dollars an entree since they opened. Dislike! Plus, you have to pay for chips and salsa?? Crappy, though I do love their salsa. The house margarita has vastly improved--nice and STRONG! So I'll go here every once and a awhile for happy hour. They have a nice little patio now so looking forward to that this summer. However also NOT looking forward to summer when we have to have the windows open in our condo next door--the whole place smells like Laredo's meat smoker!!

I really wanted to like this place. I live and work in the neighborhood, love Mexican food, and am always ready to discover the Worlds Best Margarita. My first experience there was mixed: reasonably good pork tacos washed down with the the worst margarita I've ever had. I could make a better one with a half-melted lime Slurpee and a small splash of cheap tequila. (I became suspicious when they said that their house marg was blended). The decor was not bad, if a bit formulaic. The service was good. I've been back once since then, where I stuck to beer and tried their quesadilla. Again, not bad, but nothing to get excited about. For the record, I did note on this second visit that others at the bar were being served traditional rocks margs with salt, so it's possible that they've stepped up their game in that area. I'll pass, though.. there are too many places in Seattle that have great margaritas and good food. One final note about the scene. The other reviewer that observed the younger, douchebag-filled weekend crowd (like Pesos) was right on. If that's not your scene, try the place on week night.

good chips. nice decor. i liked the bar area with the seating on side and the other. food was pretty dood. half serving is huge. good standard margarata. Had the feel of eastside Peso's. Yeah East side. Good early and late happy hour. Finally a more full service local bar/eatery for eastide lower queen anne. Good quick attentive service for our first visit. Will update review as we go more often. Good place to meet with friends.

I think they do a great job with the Tex-Mex. I noticed someone referenced liquid smoke in a previous review so I was a little apprehensive to try this place. I'm about 99% sure they don't use liquid smoke as they have a large mesquite grill in the kitchen that is visible to the dining room. You will also leave smelling like mesquite...which isn't necessarily a bad thing depending on where you are going. I was with a big group and overall everyone loved the tacos, enchiladas, ceviche and salsa, and of course the queso dip. The tacos are really filling so it's probably best to order small and then order more if you're still hungry. The place was packed and it didn't take long to get the food. One downside I noticed was the lemon/limes they were putting in the drinks looked really old and shouldn't have used.

Laredos has been my late-night Mexican savior once or twice. Time for a review! PROS: - Completely casual vibe. Neither divey nor trendy. - The waitstaff and bartenders are super friendly! - Happy Hour boasts many food options between $4-$6 which are definitely worth that price! (Tacos al Pastor are the thing. Get the thing.) - Surprise! Pickled escabeche comes with your chips! - Great music playlists! CONS: - I get a strong liquid smoke vibe from the food. IMHO it's a smoky flavor that overpowers and masks the natural flavor of the ingredients, instead of adding complexity and character. I haven't been to Texas, though, and this might be an "authentic flavor" thing that I'm just not used to here in the PNW. - Work on the salsa. See: Matador, Ooba's

I came here for the happy hour and really enjoyed hanging out with friends, drinks and a few of the $4 choices on the happy hour menu. They were really filling and I didn't even need to look at the menu as the happy hour menu is top notch. If I lived close at hand around that part of town I can see hanging around for happy hour a couple times per week. They are located in lower Queen Anne and I bet the parking really sucks around here. But, if you want a beer or margarita and some good quaso with tacos, come try it out. I see Laredos as a great place to hang out for happy hour, meeting friends out and taking your date for Mexican food.

I love this place for a late happy hour. I just wish it was earlier. The pulled port torta on happy hour is delicious, I've tried one of their non happy hour tortas and this was better. Also try the tacos al pastor they're very good. The service is usually very friendly but not always attentive. This would be a good spot to meet for drinks with an on-line date. Or to just meet up with friends. I've been here many times and I'll be back.

Coming from Arizona, I had low expectations for Mexican food in Seattle, but being such a foodie city, I imagined there would be some restaurants that get it right. Laredos is not that restaurant. I got a grilled veggie burrito and the waitress said it was one of her favorites, so my expectations jumped a little. It was covered in a sauce that smelled, and pretty much tasted like, marinara. No spice, no real flavor and overstuffed with rice. It was a disappointment and I left with a stomachache - and I have a pretty solid stomach, not much gets to me. One woman I was with said her steak fajita salad was really good, but no one else really raved about their food and I won't be going back to see if any of their other dishes are better. That said, the waitress was very nice and we were able to get in a last minute brunch reservation for a medium-sized group, although that should have been our first clue that we weren't in for anything special. Also, I sat right in front of the grill in the open kitchen and it was very warm and I smelled like fire for the rest of the day.

We just moved to Seattle from Austin and were craving some excellent Mexican food. We found it and so close to home too!! Laredo's was delicious and the service was great. I highly recommend the shrimp tacos-their tortillas are also to for! I enjoyed their salsa a lot as it had a good amount of spice :) We will be coming back here---often!

SO DELICIOUS. We were looking for Tex-Mex (chili con queso to be exact) and Laredo's came up on yelp. I love the online reservations, so easy. The place smells great even a block away. My husband is from Houston and he said, "Oh yeah, this smells right,". We had a reservation and were seated right away. We got sat by the door but it had good view of the kitchen and the bar. The chili con queso was awesome. I don't know exactly what was in it but it was chunky? Perhaps with onion and garlic? Who cares, we could've had two bowls of it. My husband had steak fajitas. Cooked perfectly and a generous portion. I had the chile Relleno. It was so freaking good! Finally, a chili relleno that wasn't greasy or soggy! It was full of fresh veggies and topped with queso, which I loved. I would have liked a protein option like the fajitas: beef, chicken or shrimp. I would've added shrimp. Maybe I can request it next time. Several things said over dinner: "Ooh they have brunch" "When can we come back? Is tomorrow too soon?" "This is the best Mexican I've had in Seattle" "Can this be our Friday night place?" "Look, Brisket Tacos!" Good eats, Laredo's! See y'all soon.

Awesome fajitas and great happy hour specials. Ordered the cheese dip which was not your typical processed melted cheese, but more like a cream cheese dip consistency. Still very good. Great salsa.

Today I had enjoyed the Enchiladas Banderas with chicken. This was my first experience with any food from Laredos and this meal was delicious! I first tried the enchilada with green sauce. What stood out from my first bite was the smokiness of the chicken. So well done! Not overly smoked, and not overpowering of all the other flavors. The green sauce was very mild and could have used a little more flavor. Then I tried the enchilada with red sauce, which I thought was even better. It had some sweetness to it which was a great contrast between the two enchiladas. Overall I wish there was a little more heat in the sauces though. What I wasn't expecting was the smokiness in the beans. That caught me by surprise, and I wasn't too big a fat. I mean I ate them all anyways, but it wasn't my favorite preparation of beans. I'd definitely eat here again.

This is the best Southwestern food I've ever had, making my mouth water just thinking about it as I write! The carne asada is to die for, and if so inclined they have a specialty margarita made with avocados. Not my favorite, but it isn't bad. Most people do like them. Great ambience, can get crowded at times though.

I have been here about 5 times, and every time I come, I am very satisfied with my meal! My favorite thing I've had there is the steak salad, It's big enough to split and it is really good quality meat. The avocado margarita is so amazing, my mouth waters even thinking about it! Sounds weird, but seriously one of the best margaritas I've ever had. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is the blonde waitress that I've had several times isn't very friendly- she makes it seem like serving us is the last thing in the world she wants to do. Kind of puts a damper on the mood, but oh well, it isn's stopping me from coming back!

Laredo's Grill is definitely a gem in the lower Queen Anne area. It offers affordable food and cocktails, with a vast array of margaritas on the menu. My favorite by far was their signature avocado margarita, I call it a meal in a glass. Our server Jane was terrific, informative and made you feel like you were home. I am definitely looking forward to hitting this local gem up for Margarita Mondays. The only upset was they no longer had the French Toast, my party definitely was not pleased. I hope they reconsider that change.

Laredo was a great place to meet up for drinks with some friends. We snagged a spot on the patio and enjoyed some drinks. The avocado margarita was definitely a hit with my group. I loved my red sangria, although it didn't seem very strong. I wasn't impressed with their happy hour drink offerings at all, though. Just beer and well drinks. We ordered the guacamole, which came heaped on a plate. It was delicious, and there was a lot of it. The steak nachos looked delicious, too. I ordered the Laredo Pollo (a chicken breast topped with chorizo and cream sauce). It was pretty good, but a little rich for my taste. It needed something to brighten up the flavors. Our server (Stephanie) was very accommodating and friendly. She missed a few drinks, but did a nice job overall. Laredo doesn't hit it out of the park, but is an A-Okay place.

I grew up in Texas and ate Tex-Mex regularly as it is one of my favorites. Laredos is pretty close to it. Also, the menu mentions Austin several times, including the Avocado Margarita that is supposedly famous, but as a person who lived in Austin, I don't think I ever heard of the Avocado Margarita, but I'm gonna try it when I get the chance...Curra's grill, I believe. They also mention Torchy's, which was odd that they have to sell their food using different restaurants and not let their food sell itself. Anyway, I went to Laredo's for Brunch on Sunday at like 2:50 PM. The waitresses (2 of them) told us that it was over at 3 PM. I believed them because the menu said it was over at 3 PM, but the front door and their website says 4PM, which was honestly why I went to Laredo's. That's cool, I'll live. After we ordered, I overheard the bartender talk to customers about brunch because it's over at 4PM. Fuck me. I'd change my order, but I'd rather let things take their course. The chips and salsa was incredibly salty. I like salt on my chips and salt in my salsa, but it literally hurt my tongue and lips from salt dehydration. A second basket of chips and salsa were no different. Oh well. The entrees were good though. The massive burrito was pretty good. The chile relleno is baked...this is texmex, right? Well, it was good, but it just didn't have that great crisp texture. I think the meal would've been profoundly better had the appetizer not destroyed my mouth with salt, but overall... there are probably better options in Seattle.

My wife Loves Mexican food. This choice was "on the way anyway" to our weekend in Seattle. I picked Mexican because it was Valentines weekend and we were headed to a marriage enrichment workshop and you do the math. We walked in to a lively bar setting with good energy and great spirits on the faces of a packed house. Glad we had reservation as we were given a nice booth. The selections are good but the food is the best Mexican food I have ever eaten. I know that is cliche but I mean it. From the fun-thin chips and the super yummy app of hot cheese with green chiles to every component on the rapidly delivered hot plates, it was remarkable. What a perfect way to start the Valentine celebration. If Good Mexican food is your wish, this is the place. You will thank me.

Food is good, and not spicy at all, as other reviewers mentioned. I have a pretty mild palate, so I dont mind that that the food is not spicy. I've had tacos, a steak burrito, and the chili con queso- all delish. Service is always good as well. My only complaint is the drinks. My bf and I have had several house margaritas from Laredos over the course of a few visits, and they are not strong at all, which is a shame because the margaritas are made fresh and taste authentic otherwise.

Cool building and decor within walking distance of my hotel. Undercooked Habanero wings as appetizer is reason for 3 stars. Wings were not done and sauce did not have the kick of habaneros. BUT...the tacos al pastor was amazing! As were the fresh tortillas that came on. Margaritas were good but expensive for a simple frozen margarita. Would return and ordered the wings extra crispy.

The avocado margarita is SO good- sounds kinda funny, but it's creamy and delicious! On the other hand, our waitress seemed really rushed and annoyed by our questions. Overall, good food and drinks.

ya know....the food is ok...a twist I guess on Mexican. I have been a couple times when I work in Seattle and I sit in the bar. I get great service there so I can't speak for the regular dining areas. It's dark though, can I have at least enough light to read the menu please.

My husband and I lived just up the hill from Laredos for a couple of years, and the easy walk down the hill made it a spot we hit up often (always forgetting that the walk UP the hill was not so easy). :) The vibe inside is pretty good - although it can feel overwhelmingly like a yuppie hangout at times which is not really my sort of crowd. We've tried the fish tacos, nachos and carne asada, among others. The food is an ok version of TexMex, but nothing outstanding. (Although considering my husband is from Texas, he may be harsher critic of TexMex food than most.) The Mexican Martinis, on the other hand, are awesome!! And strong. Basically the best thing on the menu, and not something I've found anywhere else in Seattle. Go there and try one...you won't be disappointed.

I come here a lot because I like the location. Its isolated and I feel like the majority of regulars are likely local to the Taylor Ave N hill area. The food is hit or miss. I've ordered the same thing multiple times and have it come out with varying quality and taste. The food is never bad, but I've definitely had better Mexican food, for cheaper. Ultimately, I cant recommend you go really out of your way to visit this place, but I don't think you'll be super disappointed either. They have a wide selection of Margaritas to choose from and part of the fun is trying different kinds. On Mondays, all margaritas are $5 which is awesome. The service seems to be pretty good, friendly, courteous. They usually never let you sit for long with an empty drink and are tentative to your table.

We went here for new years eve and totally loved it. The waitstaff was amazing food and margaritas are fantastic. My only complaint was the higher tables had really uncomfortable chairs, we may have stuck around longer for more drinks had our butts not fallen asleep from the chairs. If your in Queen Anne I would check this out. Parking can be a little hard to find.

My sister and her hubby bought a condo last year 1/2 blk south of laredo's and so it's their neighborhood joint we've popped into a couple of times. Sis recommended this place for myself and a friend (a Mexican food fan) to eat before the Macklemore/ Ryan Lewis concert last December, and it was a great HH spot-- wine, margaritas, and other app bites. My friend got the nachos and was in heaven, I think I got the chicken taquitos and a salad. All good. Chips were hot, salsa was tasty. We rounded it off with dessert, and though the churros were good (ie hot, fresh, not too greasy), it was a massive portion that I couldn't finish. We came back for lunch this past Saturday when picking up the little one after she spent a couple of blissful hours with her beloved aunt and uncle-- hubby got fish tacos (blackened), i got the shrimp tacos, side of waffle fries for our li'l girl, chili for bro-in-law, carne asada bites for sis. Both of the tacos were excellent in my opinion, I loved the crema drizzle on top and the extra salsas brought table-side. I think hubby's blackened fish taco edged out my shrimp ones for flavor but hubby admitted on the ride home that he thought the food was just OK. Nothing spectacular. Not sure how much tex-mex he's really had in his lifetime, I'm pretty sure not much. Service both times (same waitress) was great-- timely, and the food came out quickly. I love trying new restaurants, but it's always nice to know there is a warm & comfortable (and decent!) stand-by, especially when factoring in an overly talkative preschooler who doesn't seem to understand the term "inside voice"!

This place is pretty great. Coming from Texas I am a Mexican food snob and I think Laredos does a great job. Kirby Queso is a great southern appetizer that is a must. Fish tacos are great too with the corn tortillas. The cabbage spread too is a great addition to make the meal taste a little different. Great foodie spot located in lower QA.

I hardly ever take the time to comment on YELp, but this time it was necessary. We came in for lunch today excited to try your place since we are from Texas and a friend had raved! As soon as we arrived we were met by one of the most unfriendly restaurant employees I have ever met. She couldn't have been more unwelcoming if she tried. I smiled was very friendly and tried to give her the benefit of the doubt.. Nothing. It was as if we were bothering her with our presence. I have to say I worked in the biz for many years so I know some days you're off, but typically it's not with people that are being nice. It's unfortunate, the food was good but the cold freeze will keep me from coming back.

Experience here was pretty good. The only places I would compare this place to would be Pesos, Matador, and Cactus. In comparison to those three, this was okay. Waitstaff was nice, but pretty slow. It took us about 15 minutes to get our food once we ordered, and the food that came was.. pretty good. If I'm in the area and stuck in traffic, I may stop by again, but if I have the option I will definitely choose Cactus, Matador, or Pesos over this place.

I don't pretend to be a connoisseur of mexican food, but having lived in Texas for the past few years, I've eaten a ton of it. Positives about Laredo's is they have friendly service and solid margaritas. Otherwise, the food was really odd. The queso was unlike any queso I've ever had, and didn't really have any mexican flavoring to it. The table salsa was kind of like Prego spaghetti sauce. The food was all fine and definitely edible, but I just couldn't figure it out! Not like any mexican I've ever had. The al pastor tacos were pretty solid, so if you stick to those and the other good happy hour deals, you can still get a decent meal out of this place.

Just moved in up the street and have been in a few times because it's just so convenient! The first night we fell in love with the Avocado Margarita, but recommend straying from the other margaritas as they seem to always be quite watered down/weak for the price. The food is decent, but the biggest disappointment every visit has been the servers. They're always bratty and treat you like you're inconveniencing them by sitting at their table. Asking around at my office and apparently the servers are known for this attitude at Laredo's. Not sure if its a "theme" or just poor hiring.... We will probably venture to other places in the neighborhood next time we go out...

Moving to Seattle from Austin, TX about a year and a half ago, my wife and I were looking for familiar tex-mex food. After many failed attempts at restaurants around Seattle, we tried Laredos, not realizing it was not only tex-mex but Austin based. We've now been there a handful of times, both for weekend brunch and dinner, and I must say that I would go here even if I were still in Austin (imagining Laredos existed there). While the Austin based dishes/drinks aren't exact, they are sure close. Nothing but good things to say about this place. personal recommendations: queso, avocado margarita, mexican martini, banderas enchiladas w/ black beans

I feel like the review at most restaurants in Seattle could be the same. my impression of Laredo's is that they have a decent location in Lower Queen Anne. I think it has a pretty good vibe. I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food in general but I did find the food ro be quite good. So why am I only giving this place 2 stars. Because it has the same problem that so many restaurants in Seattle have, crappy service. We start by sitting down, waiting, waiting, waiting and finally our waitress shows up. We are sitting in the bar so she asks if we would like food menus. We respond by saying yes (would have loved it is she already had those). She comes back with menus and water (hmm mexican restaurant aren't we supposed to get chips and salsa, nope other people had them but we weren't lucky enough). Then we put in a drink order. Both drinks were on the menu, mine was a margarita no sal. So she had to remember two drinks and that was it. And if course mine came with salt. Fast forward to paying th check and she says something about problems with credit card machine and that is what took so long. I could believe that but after all the other things that happened I wasn't in the mood for some other excuse. In addition to all of that she didn't have a friendly attitude. She seemed distance and disconnected. Like I said before this great food, marginal service is becoming a theme here in Seattle. I for one have had enough of it.

My husband and I moved to Queen Anne about 4 months ago and have had a chance to visit Laredos a number of times. In fact, it was one of our "move-in" dinners, enjoyed all the more for being surrounded by boxes (and endless unpacking) at home. Generally speaking, Laredos is almost always packed. It's obviously a neighborhood favorite. The food is pretty standard Tex-Mex; it's good, it comes in appropriately-sized portions (not too big or too small) and the drinks (especially the Margaritas) are strong enough to make you feel like you've had a little something - even with the food. Laredos is also the home of Texas football during the season. On any given Saturday, you can dress in orange and hang for the day eating appropriate football food and enjoying a raucous crowd of "hook 'em horning" fans, along with organized activities for Texas fans. Sunday brunch has terrific offerings, great drink specials and a good crowd, so arrive early! Generally speaking, service can be a little slow during the busiest times, but the staff is professional and friendly and do a pretty awesome job, all things considered. The outdoor patio is great, but almost anywhere inside is terrific, too (except maybe right outside the open kitchen when summer temperatures are really high). Prices are entirely reasonable, and appropriate for portion-sizes. And specials, including #HappyHour and the Sunday Brunch make it even better! If you haven't tried it, give it a shot. You'll be made to feel right at home... and you'll be hanging with some pretty happy groups. It's a great gathering spot with terrific food! I have the Tacos al Carbon regularly. So good!

I like Laredos Grill. What a number of people don't seem to get is that Laredos is indeed a tex-mex joint, but it is an AUSTIN STYLE tex-mex joint. That is why there is squash on your plate. That's why there is smokehouse brisket in your taco or quesadilla... because Austin has a goofball sense of tex-mex (see Trudy's, Taco Deli, Chuy's, etc). I'm not saying these places are BAD, well, I think Chuy's kind of sucks, but it's just kind of like a bunch of hippies tried to make Mexican food that fits their lifestyle a bit more. The reason I like these guys is I can get the few things I actually miss from Austin that I am too lazy to make for myself. - Kerbey Queso (hey guys, there needs to be an extra "e" in that Kerby, but whatever) - Torchy's fried avocado tacos (Bring them back!! You guys should make some of their other tacos while you're at it!) - Trudy's Mexican martinis (At Trudy's you get the whole shaker, not just one glass... just sayin' not hatin') Avocado margaritas? Well, I make *awesome* ones so I'm good to go on that front, heh. The thing I most like about Laredos is I get that Austin tex-mex fix when I want it so I really have no need to ever, ever, ever return to that ass-backward state! The last time I headed in was with my roommate and we took advantage of their taco platter. 4 tacos for $2 each, they were stuffed and delicious! That is FAR better than the offerings from most happy hours at other places! Service was outstanding and we left feeling fat and sassy! Keep up the good work, Laredos!!

While visiting in Seattle, I have not seen more disrespectful staff. Our waitress seemed annoyed that we sat ourselves, but the hostess walked by us at the front of the house to continue a conversation with a friend. When we asked for additional menus for our friends who hasn't arrived yet, our waitress dropped them on the table from a distance of about a foot high and walked away without saying word. I can't comment on the food since we had one drink and left. The atsmoshere and decor is nice but the seating felt cramped.

Great happy hour specials; $5 margaritas ("scratch" was good) and the carne asada tacos (3 for $4) were delicious). Grilled shrimp were also tasty, on top of corn/bean salad. Locally owned and relaxed atmosphere.

Meh. We came for brunch. I kept hearing about their "$6 brunch menu." In reality, all the food was $8-$10 but 2 drinks were $6. It's ok - I had a living social. The chips & salsa were bomb. The cabbage slaw salsa sucked - tasted very sulphuric. I had the chilequiles... Had to ask for eggs over easy, instead of scrambled. Very saucy, soggy chips. Sauce was like spaghetti sauce - very odd, kinda sweet, missing a little bit of spice. My boyfriend had the Chicken Fried Steak which came with the smallest spoonful of Gravy. My beans were burnt - wtf??? The mole sauce was pretty flavorless (asked to try it as I am a mole connosseiur). Table next to us got breakfast fajitas that looked amazing! The decor was super cool. Had an amazing living social deal for bottomless mimosas and they were true to their word. Wouldn't return :/

When I crave Tex-Mexican food I head to Loredos. Morning, noon and night. The staff is friendly and fun while keeping libations flowing that leads to both the beginning of a hangover as well as the cure. I did enjoy the Avocado Marg(its so smooth!) but I tend to hit the draft taps and tequila flights more often. For dinner I'm all over the Habanero Shrimp Enchiladas, nothing takes a healthy combo of shrimp and veggies up a notch like habanero cream sauce! If I'm feeling really meaty the Truck Stop Enchiladas are a must! Happy Hour rocks with must have naughty nachos, delightful simple salad, and some of the HOTTEST wings I have ever tasted. And I like em hot! Loredos kindly takes the guilt off your shame spiral in the morning but offering a tasty $6 Brunch Happy Hour to make up for the bills you dropped getting silly the night before! Parking can be tricky but the brief walk is worth it! Ample TV's for game watching and a lovely outdoor area for those rare sunny days!

4 Words: BLENDED RITAS... AWESOME FAJITAS!!!!!!! YES, TEX-MEX lovers, this is definitely the place for you. Great vibe and decor, call it Hipster Mexican. The best blended Ritas in town and fantastic Tex-Mex food. We have been there 4 times now and have loved our food every single time and what's best, every one we brought along has loved it as well. Great prices. Only reason two reasons I am not making this a 5 star is that service in our last visit was not the best, but also because I am not a huge fan of the beans, they are a little dry and a little on the sweet side for me. When I go to Tex-Mex I expect great Charo beans... and have not yet been able to find them in Seattle. It would be great if they started to offer Charo beans as an option.

I'm from California and more into the hole-in-the-wall type mexican over tex-mex, but this is a great place to go for a drink! Some of the food looked pretty good as well. I was impressed with their salsa, it had a nice kick to it. Who is to complain about $2 tecates for Happy Hour?!?

In the happy happy, but trafficrific, days of living in Lower Queen Anne, we ate at Laredos so often that I learned how to make Al Pastor Tacos at home because we were spending so much money there! This place is awesome. The food is true Tex-Mex, fresh, delicious, addicting. The Happy Hour Al Pastor Tacos are amazing and so are the TruckStop? Enchiladas. They offer a great variety of margaritas, but they are unfortunately all a little over priced. The decor and atmosphere is awesome... a little rustic Texan, but also a little romantic. Service was typically always good. I so miss living within walking distance of this gem!

Only had dessert here: The sopapillas here are like ninja stars....you could throw them at someone's head and cause a laceration..... but aside from that they were pretty tasty... lol The churros were also dangerous...they were so crispy it was like trying to eat lil daggers haha...they tasted OK but I would've like a little more cinnamon The demographic here was interesting...interesting as in we were the only colored people in the whole restaurant lol...not that it matters, but just saying haha...

Let me say this clearly in case you haven't heard the best reason to go to Laredos: AVOCADO MARGARITAS. If ever there was an unexpected but beautiful cocktail marriage, it would be the combination of avocado (quintessential Mexican fruit) and margarita (traditional Tex-Mex cocktail). Blended together to make a smooth and creamy drink, I've never tasted anything like it and would gladly do so again soon. I think, it should be unsurprising to report, that I had the nachos at Laredos. They aren't the best I've had in Seattle, but they were certainly good--a large portion with all the necessary ingredients, including refried beans (which were buried at the bottom and thus piping hot once I dug my way down to them). Really though, this is about the tequila, and thus we come back to the Avocado Margarita (now it's capitalized, see?). I couldn't really assess the tequila, which makes this a great introductory drink to those who blaspheme this great world by claiming to hate A) tequila, B) margaritas, or C) (heaven forbid) both. From this cocktail, a beautiful and tequila-filled world could be opened up, and a lot of hard-earned cash could be spent enjoying the bar at Laredos. Not a bad way to spend a Tuesday. Or any night, really.

They have a fantastic happy hour here! Three al pastor tacos for only 4 dollars! The tortillas are homemade and delicious. The meat was flavorful. Their homemade salsa is tasty! It wasn't too packed for a Friday night! I would definitely suggest this place.

This place is pretty great...EXCELLENT tacos. I have been here several times and have gotten the steak, al pastor, shrimp, and blackened fish tacos. All excellent! Pretty friendly servers, never had a problem with slow service, etc. Very good happy hour menu and prices too..there's a pretty large selection, better than a lot of places in the area. I also love that parking is never a problem and it's not too difficult to snag patio seating on a nice summer day! Usually it's an hour minimum to get a patio seat at a lot of places around here. Also, I know it sounds nuts, but you MUST try the avocado margarita...I know it sounds not yummy, but it truly is a treat. Even if you don't like avocados you should try it. It takes away some of the tartness of the sweet and sour and it gives the drink a nice creamy texture..plus it's blended to perfection.

Came here with friends on a Tuesday night randomly for dinner. Pretty straightforward Mexican food here. The chips and salsa are pretty delicious. I'm a big fan of pico de gallo style salsas and the one at Laredos was good. The chips also come with a cabbage based "salsa" too, which tickled my taste buds. I ordered the 4 taco platter ($9) which was delicious. Tried a chicken taco, pork taco, fish taco, and a shrimp taco. So much variety and finger-lickin-good. There were a few other options to try too. I would reorder any of the four I ate that night. Didn't have any drinks that night so I can't speak to that. Overall the food and service was solid and I would eat here again if I was in the area craving comida Mexicana. Cheers!

Husband and I went here for some tex-mexi and we were not disappointed! Everything was amazing, from the salsa to the queso to the guacamole! (Some of the best guacamole I've ever had!) My daughter was springing for birthday brunch with unlimited mimosas (Living Social deal) on a recent Sunday morning. Though the menu is limited for this deal, I, the egg-hater, ordered the carne asada with scrambled eggs and beans. Carne asada was a small portion (maybe that's how normal people eat??) but pretty tasty. Eggs were okay and not wet; potatoes, onions and peppers were good. Eight (total) mimosas later, it was pretty satisfying. Service was great and the waitress was on top of keeping our glasses filled. But for the horrible parking on lower Queen Anne in a residential neighborhood, I would be a repeat visitor.

I was really looking forward to eating here but the overall experience was hit and miss. Some of the menu items were very good while others were a struggle to enjoy. We ordered a batch of chips with two kinds of salsas. One salsa was a red one and the other was a cabbage salsa. So far so good. The main dishes were where I enjoyed the meal on a lesser scale. I ordered cheese enchiladas. The dish also came with a verde sauce and a red sauce. It also came with rice and beans. How can I make this sound like I am not a fool? The enchiladas were just too cheesey. As to be expected the inside of the enchilada was stuffed with melted cheese and then had the same on top. It felt like a block of cheese was developing in my stomach. Not only that the over all enchilada dish just seemed tasteless. The rice was probably the best thing that came with the plate. I was unimpressed with the beans. They just did not seem fresh. I couldn't finish my plate. To drink I had a Mexican Rootbeer Float. Now that was actually very good! The rootbeer was brewed by the folks at Laredo's themselves and the ice cream seemed like it was made on site as well. That was the highlight to my meal. Steve's meal I wished I had. He ordered Avocado tacos which tasted very good and had the freshness that I was looking for. He kept the Avocado theme going and got a Avocado Margarita. It was more like a alcoholic smoothie which was interesting but he complained it was too rich but he managed to finish it all. I don't often go to places where things seem so inconsistent in food quality. Usually everything ordered somewhere is bad across the board or good across the board so this left me very confused as to how I should think about Laredo's. The service was good and the atmosphere interesting but the enchiladas and I just did not hit it off.

PROS: Mondays 5$ margaritas, scratch marg, sangria wave, pink marg all good, kick ass breakfast, good Mexican/Latin music, better atmosphere than Pesos. CONS: Chicken dishes use too much smoke flavoring (maybe you're into that), service is hit or miss, inconsistent cocktails (the Paloma always tastes different), and disappointing wine options.

The sign on the outside is very low key, and this place looks very hum drum. Once you step inside, the decor is dark, and not like most Mexican places. No high back booths. Went to this place for lunch. The hostess/waitress instructed us to seat ourselves. I opted for the chips and queso and a cup of chicken tortilla soup. And then I realized they had a whole board of daily specials that the waitress never told us about. bummer. The queso (Jack, mexican cheeses and peppers) was a bit runny for my taste. It looked like a half full bowl of milk with cilantro garnish on top. It seemed like all I could taste were the over abundance of peppers, and the milky white cheese didn't have that depth of flavor that you get when you cook the peppers in the cheese. Not bad, but I wouldn't order it again. The chicken tortilla soup was very hot. The broth was basic, not extraordinary. There was plenty of chicken, some cheese and avocados. I tried my friend's mole and cheese enchiladas. They were smoky, and the mole was quite good. The complimentary chips and salsa were very tasty. The service was slow (we were one of three occupied tables in the whole place). We had to take our cards to the bar to get our cards run so we could get out of there. They also had some weird fishing show playing on the TV while we were there, which kind of felt weird.

Laredo's is my favorite neighborhood bar. I've been here several times for dinner and also just for drinks. My friend from Texas loves this place so we would always stop by for drinks before going out, or even on our way back home. The food has always been good when I've come here and the portions are also a good size. I usually get the chips and salsa to start with and my go-to entree is always the fish tacos. My favorite drink is probably the Sangria Wave which is a pretty sweet/girly drink. Overall, I really enjoy coming here and it's really nice having a place with good food and drinks within walking distance of where I live. Whenever someone asks me for a good Mexican/Tex-Mex place in Queen Anne I always recommend Laredo's over Peso's.

A co-worker and I went there for lunch while attending a leadership course. When we walked in the smell enveloped us. I immediately had high expectations for the quality of food. When our server brought us our chips and salsa there was the traditional salsa and a cabbage slaw style that I hadn't seen before. Both were delicious but I actually preferred the cabbage slaw salsa. I ordered the Pollo Laredo which was stuffed with chorizo and spinach, and came with rice, beans, and zucchini. I kind of like zucchini, but this was spiced so well it was the first thing finished. The stuffed chicken was amazing and just the right size. My co-worker got the steak quesadilla and it was done Panini style(?) and she had to use a fork and knife on it. I had a taste of it and it was almost as good as what I had ordered. After we had finished we were tempted to forgo the rest of the afternoons class and stay here for a margarita and call it a day. I plan on coming back here very soon.

I only dropped in for a couple of afternoon libations and a snack on the patio and wound up eating a full meal, and it was a firmly okay decision. To be fair I was still a little rough around the edges from a little overindulgence the night before, but there was nothing particularly memorable about the experience. The margaritas were good, if a bit overly generous with the tequila. When the qualities of flavor and buzz inducement are too far out of equilibrium, any cocktail is going to suffer and these seemed to favor the buzz by just a tad too much. When the guacamole (firmly three star) proved to not quite address the snackiness bill, I sent for the al pastor tacos on the recommendation of the waitress, who assured me they as good as the menu purported them to be. I found this to not be the case. They were fine, but I have yet to find al pastor this far north that comes close to the very high bar that was set for me by a particular taco stall in Mexico City near the Zocalo. The interior of the restaurant feels like it's trying a little too hard, but it's cozy in a trying too hard kind of way. The service was the only really outstanding part of the visit, as our waitress was friendly, prompt, and engaging in just the way you want to be engaged while you're trying to eat. It's a fine option for that part of the neighborhood perhaps by virtue of the fact that it's still one of the only options in that part of the neighborhood. I probably won't fight too hard one way or the other if the opportunity to dine there presents itself again.

I had a living social deal for these guys. Our waiters (aka the two bartenders) were super friendly. The deal was great and they were not stingy with the champagne in our unlimited mimosas. This place is a great hidden gem. Neither of us had heard of Laredo's. We will checking them out again. The food was so good and anywhere I can get brunch without waiting in line makes me a happy camper. GO TO LAREDOS.

Dang it Yelp!! You tricked me again. I thought with all of the stars for this restaurant that it would be worth while to check out. I was wrong. Also, I figured since they allowed reservations that this would be more of an upscale place. It's nothing more than a mexican, sports bar. I prefer the atmosphere more at the Matador compared to Laredo's. I had their Al Pastor taco plate. It was good and I like the addition of zucchini and corn as a side. My husband had their mariachi burrito but he wasn't wowed by it. We won't be coming back. Queen Anne is a pain to drive to and park in. And the food wasn't that amazing. Sorry guys.

The avocado margarita is so good! As a matter of fact all of the margaritas I've had are extremely good. A little disappointed in the size of the nachos even though they were very tasty. The calamari portions were also an easy pass. I'll be going back for more margaritas though and maybe food that isn't on the happy hour menu.

Fantastic food. I had the carne asada, and the meat was perfectly seasoned. The staff is focused, experienced, and hard working! Very popular spot for dinner on the Sunday night we visited. We were lucky to get an available table right away.

Carne Asada was great again. The food stayed warmer longer this time, but the chips continue to be really stale. What's the deal with that? The service was really great. Parking around the area is bad, so allow for time for that. This is actually a great place for groups.

Chicken Tacos were good. Veggies really caught my attention: tasty, seasoned nice, flavorful. Queso was good (only when hot). Happy hour good deal. $2.5 Tecate. Decor dark & bar like. I prefer my restaurants less woodsy/ funky, more clean.. Otherwise, this was a good place for drinks & a bite to eat.

The food is pretty good (although I'll have to agree with another reviewer that it's supposed to have two tortillas not just one so it can support the goods) and the drinks are strong but still tasty (and when I say it's strong, it's pretty damn strong). Happy hour menu is good, service is friendly, and they have a bit of outdoor seating (though it can get windy). Overall a good place with good food, large portions, and decent prices. Having lived in Cali, I have to say it's not super authentic Mexican food (but close), but it's supposed to be Tex-Mex so I guess that's the reason why. I'll have to come back to try a few more items.

Went back for the first time in a while and the food has changed. The nachos are nothing like they use to be. Why no more jalapenos? I would go there for the nachos but now its too far to drive for them. Still an ok place to hang out though

Came here with my sis and her friend. It was Margarita Monday - $5 Margaritas. They had some interesting sounding ones, like Avocado Marg. Um, but we didn't get it. I didn't get any. My sis got the fish tacos with beans and rice, which I tried and it was good. I didn't get anything because I stuffed my face prior to coming, but would love to come back and try to Avo Margarita. Staff was really friendly and helpful. It was a nice, warm day. There was outside seating, but we sat inside in a booth. Great atmosphere.

This is a great place with amazing food. I had never heard of it but went twice last week. My entrees were great both times and their chips and salsa are fresh and delicious. My reason for two stars? REALLY CRAPPY SERVICE during my last visit. We had to ask for everything: chips, salsa, refills, water, etc. and the servers were crabby and surly. I know it was New Year's Day and they were probably hung over but don't take it out on the customers!!! To the owners: GET FRIENDLY SERVERS!

This place has the benefit of only being 4 blocks from my place so I frequently visit. It is a Sunday morning staple for me as they have a super tasty brunch menu. I almost always go with their "Pepe Scramble". A delicious mix of scrambled eggs, spinach and chorizo that is too good to pass up - all for $6. I honestly don't think I could make a better tasting breakfast for that cost. The bar staff on Sunday mornings is friendly, and they have plenty of TV's which is particularly nice during football season. Nothing like watching football, drinking an irish coffee and chomping on some chorizo to kick off your Sunday morning. Their dinner menu is OK. I haven't too much off it. It's never bad but I have never been blown away. I'm also a little turned off by their weekend night crowd... A little too much bro, you know what I mean bro?

The only reason this is not 5 stars is the hit and miss service. Some visits I have amazing, friendly service; other times it is slow and snarky! Laredos hands down has the BEST queso in Seattle. Their nachos are #2 in Seattle. And they have so many tasty, unique things on the menu to eat and drink. I love this place and try to get people to eat here often with me to fill my need for their queso!! YUM!!!

Pretty decent late night happy hour from 10pm-midnight, huge pours of champagne for $4.00, good selection of vegetarian food, and big tables. I had high hopes that since Laredo's is a little off the beaten track from the typical haunts in Queen Anne, it might avoid the pitfalls of the usual clientele (grown up frat boy), but it didn't. Same old, same old bros, same old same old over scented waitresses. When will they learn? If you're a server, you shouldn't be wearing perfume? Oh well. Didn't impact the quality of the food or the service, both of which were good, especially for the kitchen only have 2 guys working for a crazy busy Saturday night at 11pm. They turned they food out so fast- major props for that. The major win here is the food and the decor. I grew up in Texas and whatever they're doing here tastes like real Tex-Mex. Nice work. Also, they put some real effort into the wall art and lights, and it shows.

I love this place. I think of it as more of a bar-with-food. Yummy food and plenty of veggie options. Dog friendly patio in the summer. Love the jalapeno and avocado maragritas (different drinks, both tasty). Service is friendly and fast. It's a keeper. I wish chips and salsa were free. But, we can't have everything, can we? Oh, and the guac is excellent!

Great place, had a LivingSocial for brunch and bottomless mimosas and loved every minute of it. Service was fabulous and the food was great. We ordered guacamole with our chips and they brought out a huge plate of it. Also the carne asada plate was amazing. Just don't forget to order the tortillas with it!

Wooden decor TexMex in the middle of Downtown area. Friendly staff and knowledgeable in every question I asked. Place is a bit dimmed but it's good to hang out and to watch sports (4 TV's around the area). First off, started with a drink........................ - Avocado margarita $8.00 (The name threw me off) Was Simply Tasty and creamy. They put salt around the glass to have a mix with the cocktail. - Appetizers, we ordered a House Guacamole $ 7.95. Which was OK. The guacamole wasn't as fresh as I thought, but tasty with mix home ingredients. It was served with 2 types of sauce (one was mild and one was a tad spicy) with Sour cream on the side. - Entree I ordered a Vegetable Burrito $ 9.95. Pretty big (About 6 inches by 4 inches and 2 inches thick). It was warm, but a bit watery and the veggies were fallen apart when I had my first Bite. Meh.. I rather get it from Chipotle. Overall 3 stars... Nothing out of the ordinary will make me come back for it.

The food at Laredos is decent, definitely more Tex Mex than you will get at the other area Mexican eateries and taco trucks. Their queso is pretty decent and their tacos are good, albeit quite tiny. This is the Texas Exes bar which is often why we come, a good place to watch a game. The service is usually friendly and it has a nice casual atmosphere with customers most hours. Their drinks have ranged from great to not good but they changed my drink upon request. Have yet to try their weekend brunch menu but would like to.

So i walk into Laredos today and wait a good 7 to 10 minutes to be seated when my friend and i easily could have sat down at the table directly in front of us with out attitude. When we sit it takes another good 5 minutes to even get water and when she brings water the girl does not even acknowledge our presence. Then another 5 minutes later our waitress comes up and serves the people next to us who got there 5 minutes after us. FRUSTRATING. We ordered the chips and salsa which were very good i have to admit. after that no one ever came to check in or refill our drinks or anything and it was not just us it was everybody in the general area. As i look back into the kitchen i see what turns out to be the owner just standing and chating with 2 waitresses. This goes on for another ten minutes. It got to the point where i got up and asked who i thought was the manager who that was. When she said the owner and asked why i told her "Well it is frustrating when everyone is waiting on service and the waitstaff is flirting with the owner" That set the person off who verbally abused me. She proceeded to tell me that if i needed anything all i had to do was ask instead of being "passive-aggressive" about it and "personally attacking" the owner. I just said back "wait thats your job to ask me what i need not to flirt" i got to my feet and walked out. After i left i waited for my friend across the street. The owner decides he needs to act like a big man and come outside. I just smiled and waved and told him he really needs to train his staff. Nothing personal against these individuals but the whole place seemed to not have it together. NEVER GOING BACK

Good, quality Mexican food with great variety and tasty options. It may be hard to read the menu in the cave like setting, bit the Christmas lights will help a bit. Food is a bit pricey for Mexican but cheap for Seattle. Plates are huge. Nice big menu and very tasty tacos. Staff was surly but quick.

Stopped into Laredo's one night to hang out with some friends and it was pretty good. It's very similar to other popular local establishments, i.e. The Matador but the vibe and service was a little better. I tried a couple of different cocktails and they were both good. However the Paloma was a little stiff, almost like they forgot to add a juice . . . it was cool though, I like a good stiff drink. Food wise, it's your typical tex-mex, mexican fare. Overall I had a good time and enjoyed myself there.

I tend to come here with work groups as we can get most of the restaurant for our large 80 person team. They have done it all to buffet lines, serving a la carte to the table, and accommodating checks as people come and go. The service is very patient and the space is large. As it is a bit off Mercer there is tons of parking. The food is pretty average though, nothing really pops out as great Mexican food. But, most people like a middle of the road place for large groups, and this is it. But the Nachos are pretty popular. I will say there margaritas are not too sweet or watery, that is a nice thing.

Oh, Laredos. You have tasty veggie tacos for lunch and you (+ co-worker Hanna) introduced me to the wonderful beverage called a Shandy. Thank you so much for making that drink oh so delicious and handling our crazy work tables so well each time we visit for lunch and happy hour. I'm a little sad that I can't usually find something I desire from the food section of your happy hour menu (chips and salsa don't count!), but I trust that I can find a $2 can of Tecate and a $4 Margarita... and, well, that's good enough for me on most days! (Plus I can always go for the dinner menu.) Also, I don't think I'll ever stop being amused by the green and red salsa squirt bottles that we usually get when we have a big table and will obviously need lots of salsa bowl refills. I haven't found your staff to ever be especially engaging, but I've always gone in big groups and they do a great job getting us all taken care of and make it extremely easy for us to pay separately. The only mishap that I've seen was when two people ordered the same item (one cheese, one chicken) and they planned to share so they'd get to have both. When they traded, however, they found that both had gotten the chicken and nobody else at the table received the cheese. That was no big deal, however, and I'm still very glad to have Laredos so close to work!

As a Texan, I had to try Laredo's since it advertises "authentic Tex-Mex." I'll try to make this review as comprehensive and accurate as possible. The parking situation is typical Seattle - Heaven forbid any business have an actual parking lot, but there are some spots on the street nearby. The ambiance was more "bar" than Mexican. The music was loud and the young people around the bar were having a good time. It seems to be a very trendy, uptown type of place - targeting a younger, hip crowd. I expected if there was music that it would have been reminiscent of Mariachi music or something from down south of the border... not rocking beats. It was also pretty dark inside. The food was definitely "good" COMPARED TO OTHER SEATTLE AREA MEXICAN RESTAURANTS. Compared to true Tex-Mex back home, it was terrible. I ordered the steak quesadilla, my husband ordered the truckstop enchiladas. The quesadilla was folded into a triangle and the meat seemed like brisket. I think there may have been cheese in it, but it was used very sparingly if at all. My plate had two triangle quesadillas on it and a little pile of what appeared to be lettuce and a pickled carrot and pepper. Two creamy dips were also included. No guacamole, no salsa, no rice or beans. The enchiladas came with rice and beans and also, interestingly, there was yellow squash and zucchini. Back in Texas you will never find squash or zucchini on the plate in a tex-mex restaurant. We also had to pay for chips and salsa - $1.75, so not much, but every Mexican restaurant I have ever been to offers them complimentary. The drinks (coke and diet coke) were watered down and seemed off. No Dr Pepper offered. Overall, the food was better than most of the places we tried here in the Seattle area, but wouldn't hold a candle to the places in Texas. Couple that with the nightmare it is to get downtown and find a parking spot and we won't be back.

Cool place in QA area. The drinks were good but the food was just ok. Nothing special. The chips and salsa were really good! Our server was nice and did a solid job overall. Maybe I went on an off night? I will head over to Laredos again and update my review one of these days.

I am a big fan of Laredo's. Born and raised in Texas and only recently a Seattle transplant, I have pretty high standards for Tex Mex and this is the only place I've eaten that is this good! The salsa does have a little bit of a spaghetti sauce flavor and the queso is a little odd but the entrees, desserts and drinks are awesome! I LOVE the la fresa, fresh strawberries with a sugared rim tastes almost like it doesn't even have alcohol in it. The steak fajita salad is amazing, I have to make myself order something else every once in awhile just to mix things up. Sopapillas are delicious too! Attentive bar tenders and waitresses, never takes too long to get food and haven't had to wait for a seat. LOVE the big Texas flag!

This place was ok, there are several other mexican restaurants in seattle I would rather go to though. Decided to try it out for late night happy hour because I knew Pesos would be packed and didn't want to go out to the Matador in Ballard and from reading the reviews I thought I may've discovered the a lower key tex-mex place that was just as good. It is lower key, but it wasn't as good to me. They may've before, but when I went they did not have any cocktails on happy hour - only wine and beer. The happy hour food was ok, nothing spectacular though. The nachos were soggy because there were not enough chips and too much beans, so we actually had to ask for an extra serving of chips. Also, not sure what kind of open grill they have in the kitchen, but I left this place leaving like a campfire - my clothes and hair reeked.

Loved it! The chicken fajitas salad is soooo yummy! Good cocktails too. The only slightly negative thing we encountered was the ceviche. It tasted pretty fishy and not super fresh. Could have been a fluke. So I'll be back!

If you're from Texas, this is your new home away from home! I am born, raised and went to UT in Austin, so the menu takes a "play" on re creating the famous drinks and recipes of favorite Austin restaurants. You must take it with a grain of salt because we are in Seattle, but the recipes are pretty accurate to me; although I always like to tease them because I have never heard of an "avocado margarita - an Austin, Texan favorite" lol um no! But the atmosphere is awesome; Texas beer on draft and of course where else can you watch the Longhorns play! Plus one night we stumbled in there close to 2am and they were playing Selena and Ramon Ayala so needless to say they put up with my awful "karaoke" renditions and "gritos". All Texas stuff aside, I have always been pleased with the food, portions, drinks, service and staff!

My friend suggested this place for a Saturday lunch, and I am always down for Mexican! I had the Tecate-braised Carnitas Plate. It came with big tender beans that tasted of chili sauce, and oily (in a good way) Spanish rice. The meat was tender and flavorful. Both my flour tortillas, and my friend's corn tortillas (she got the Fish Taco Plate) were house made. The portions were generous, and the server refilled our waters several times. The salsa had a spicy-pizza-sauce flavor, which isn't my favorite, but different strokes. I did really like the vinegary veggie pico that also came with our order of chips and salsa. My friend asked for hot sauce and we got this really tasty chipoltle sauce. I'm not sure where the negative reviews are coming from? Perhaps people who only like ground beef and Colby "tacos"? I say if you can handle a moderate level of spice, this place is awesome!

My Mexi Cuisine Go-To! Although, I love trying new places, I would never turn down going to Laredos! Laredo's has yet to disappoint me. I give it 5 stars across the board because the wait staff is friendly & helpful, the food is always fresh and delicious, reasonable prices & they have an awesome happy hour (Especially if you like margaritas!) Great place if you are going for a meal or just a drink. Food recommendations: (Top 2 of many) any of their taco platters, steak burrito - which is almost impossible to finish in one sitting & just as good reheated! Drink recommendations: $4 H.H. Mango or Avocado Margaritas.

The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. First time i have ever seen an avocado margarita so i had to try it. It was DELISH. My son was sold the minute he saw horchata root beer float on the menu. Both of our entrees (chicken mole and steak deluxe enchiladas) were very good (large portions - took some home). I live close by and will definitely plan to come back again soon.

Where to begin... Great place. A group of 6 decided to go have Mexican / tex- mex and the yelp reviews lead us here. So we walk in at 630 on a Sunday evening and the place is packed. After standing at the door waiting to be greeted / seated for a few mins, a male bartender comes from behind the bustling bar and politely greets us and clears a table. This place was packed full of young hip looking 30 somethings however I felt like I fit in. Our waitress took about 8 mins to get to the table, just for introductions and drink orders ( I was perturbed prior to her arrival due to her delay, although I could see she was busy). Once she settled down with her other busy tables she was a rock star waitress, Jane , was entertaining and effective at thwarting my early on displeasure. Jane made great recommendations for food and drinks. Onto the food.... Great, reasonably fast, and not cold or room temperature. The best of the entire evening, the avocado margaritas ( MUST HAVE). Other dinner mates had the other margaritas however the avocado was the most popular.

Great food and amazing giant michiladas! If you like seafood you'll love the Vista del mar. OMG what an amazing dish! Shrimp with lots of peppers and onions covered in melty cheese. It had just the right amount of spice and flavor. I've never had tex mex before but if everything tastes this good than I've been missing out! We sat at the bar and the service was great! We'll definitely be back soon!

Frequent eater here and their food is consistently amazing. Most of the time their service is pretty good too, only had a few occasions where it was less than perfect :) Their mango or their avocado margaritas (only $5 on margarita Mondays!) are a must, and their Happy Hour is fabulous!

The food is good here; just plain good. What's better though is their avocado margarita and the fact that they don't mind when I start dancing after a few of them, haha! A great Queen Anne spot to head out to after work for me, I always know I'm going to see someone I know from the neighborhood!

Sat Night @ 11pm. First off the Bartender brought great service. Unfortunately...... Prob 1 - Fish Tacos came out stone cold. No Mas. Prob 2 - Nachos came out luke warm, soggy, cheese was a big ball in the center and beans were all on the bottom of the plate under everything else. Best part was the jalapenos which at least had flavor. Prob 3 - The total pervy and invasive woman who sat next to us at the bar who kept trying to cop a feel on my girlfriend's pussow to cap off our already awesome experience. Who's to say if things would be different some other time/day/universe but we will never, ever go back. YOU SUCK LAREDOS.

The food was awesome! My only complaint was the service was a little lame. Excellent guacamole and salsas. Even the warm, crispy chips were good. I tried the monster burrito. A little heavy on the beans, but the steak was excellent. This is more of a Tex-Mex flavor, but the food is excellent. Great atmosphere... I will certainly go back for more.

  • Matt R.

The Mexican guy who served us really didn't give a shit. The food and drinks here are acceptable but the experience was a disappointment because the server was lame. Restaurant was 30% full at most. Forgot some drinks- brought out double orders of others. Orders took forever. Another server seemed to realize that we were getting frustrated so she stepped in to help. Too little too late though. A lot of wasted potential here. I doubt I'll go to Loredo's again.

My little sister turns 21! Which makes me...nevermind. At least we still get mistaken for being the same age.... She picked nearby Laredo for an inaugural margarita and dinner, and so we convened. Quite a crowd was present for the NCAA tournament games: for those of you who enjoy bar TV, this is a great spot (a huge part of the dining space is within comfortable viewing distance of the screen, with the bar anchoring a sort of large semi-circle), so we got a cozy table at the back. Chips and salsa are still excellent; the tomato salsa was full of roasted tomatoes and plenty of chile seeds, and the guacamole, with a little shaving of cheese and generous ladle of pico de gallo, was lovely. I hoarded the tomatillo all to myself....As always, I love their sangria - not too sweet, full-flavored, and luscious - and the margarita was pronounced a success! Yet the menu has changed yet again since my previous visit, and not for the better. Some of the healthier, more inventive options are gone (although a couple of tasty salads are still present) in favor of the unfortunately more cheese-heavy Tex-Mex (think varieties of nachos and queso dips). The chile relleno was coated in a pinkish-red cheese sauce, obscuring the delicate yet far more enticing flavors of roasted juicy corn kernels, onions, and Anaheim pepper: not exactly satisfying, especially since I've had the one from a certain Oaxacan place in town and know what I'm missing! The drink menu seems more abbreviated too; two margaritas, sangria, a paloma, and another option or two (plus the requisite Mexican beer and a few wine selections). I do like the small a la carte menu, where you can order just a taco or two or three (but at anywhere from $3-$5, the single corn tortilla and tiny amount of meat or fish seems a bit pricey). I'm sure I'll end up here again since it's in my sister's neighborhood, and I'll definitely look forward to the chips, salsa, guac, and sangria. I expect some of these changes reflect what the neighborhood wants from the restaurant; I'm glad they're responsive to their customers, even though I miss previous incarnations of the menu. But hey, who doesn't need a margarita on their birthday, or any day?!

Went back for happy hour. Sadly, the avocado margaritas are still full price, but the house margaritas are $4. Woohoo! (They'd get that extra star for a happy hour avocado margarita, for sure.) The happy hour menu is an amazing, delicious deal. Arriba Laredos! By the way, HH starts at 10, NOT 9 as mentioned in the little box above. Hint, hint, Laredos, people who see that you are advertising the wrong happy hour time on the internet get a little grumpy when they show up and are proved to be fools.

Boring and bland. Great service though. Three of us popped in here to grab a drink and some food. Had Steak and pork tacos and found it almost tasteless which was a surprised. My initial thought is that maybe it was my dish but I sampled the other dishes and everything was almost tasteless from the dinner menu. It was not that cheap either so I was rather disappointed. I will take Matador over this any day. The chips and salsa were good but obviously this place takes that and decor from Matador and Pesos. Too bad they did not borrow more of the food as well. Good for a beer but I would pass on eating.

My friend and I decided to go to Laredos Grill after looking up restaurants that served carne asada fries in Seattle. I've had carne asada fries in LA area many times and they BLEW MY MIND! it's amazing, exploding with flavors, yummy fries, etc etc, but this place.. it was ok. Comparing Laredos carne asada fries to those that I've tasted in LA was my mistake. How can a Mexican restaurant in Seattle beat those of restaurants closer to the border??? silly me. However, it hit the spot. I had a mad craving and it satisfied it for the moment, but looking back and analyzing the food, it just was not the same! Their fries were skinny yummy crunchies, (similar to BJ string fries) but the carne asada.. the meat itself had NO flavor. bleh. The other dish we ordered was chicken fajita. that was YUMMY! it was really good. Huge portions, yummy hot sizzling food. It comes with 3 mini tortillas (which were yummy) but it's certainly not enough to for the huge portion of meets and grilled veggies. I felt bamboozled though when we ordered more tortillas and were charged $1.50! shucks. oh wells! The next time I have another craving for carne asada fries, I will return... OH! and one pet peeve of mine with mexican restauarant... NO FREE CHIPS AND SALSA!!!

Pretty good food and decent prices. There are other Mexican places I'd prefer in lower QA, but this one is pretty good and the service was excellent.

Laredos is my neighborhood bar, it has a great ambiance, staff and menu. My personal favorites are Margarita Mondays ($5, any margarita, all night!) and their daily happy hour. They make good, reasonably priced food, excellent chips and salsa, and of course awesome margaritas! Highly recommended!

I'm not usually a fan of blended margaritas (a little too froo froo for my taste), but I love Laredos' avocado margarita! One was enough for me though, so I switched to their house margarita for my second. It tasted fairly standard but was really strong! The food at Laredos Grill is pretty good. I enjoyed the Pollo Laredo, which was a grilled chicken breast stuffed with a mixture of bacon, cheese, olives, onions, chiles and topped with a delicious cheesy beer sauce. The guacamole is good, but I don't like how it contains big chunks of onion and bits of lettuce--and at $8 it's rather expensive. The service was a bit spotty, due to some initial confusion about whose section we were in. However, everyone was very friendly and fairly reliable about replenishing our drinks. The super-nice server even offered to split our check up for us--and he did it exactly right, five people four ways! For me the big attraction of Laredos is their fantastic happy hour. They have a number of appetizers for $4 each, $3 Tecates and $4 margaritas! My liver is happy that I don't work nearby.

Laredos is one of my favorite "go to" restaurants when I want delicious comfort food. The service is great and everything I have had on the menu is outstanding. Although sometimes a bit crowded and loud, it continues to be a great place to dine on an average budget. The chili con queso is great and even better if you can get it from the happy hour menu at a lesser price. Also, the Mole Enchilda's are a favorite of mine and the fact that they have a larger than average selection of sauces to choose from makes this neighborhood joint really stand out.

I've been twice for lunch and absolutely loved it. I'm going back for dinner next week. Tacos were awesome. Order a side of guacomole to go with the chips and salsa - you will not be disappointed. I lived in Texas for 4+ years and this is the first place I've eaten in the state of Washington that deserves to call its food Tex-Mex. Lucky me that it's only a block away from my office.

Laredos is one of the best Queen Anne finds hands down! I've never been unsatisfied with the food or atmosphere. Jamie is the best server I've had there thus far. Shes outgoing and personable and it doesn't hurt that she is super cute!

Great happy hour on a beautiful day. I really enjoyed their mojito and queso dip. Their Japapeno Margarita wasn't the best I have ever had, I would probably take Pesos or Poquitos spicy margaritas over this one. Would have been good have the margaritas on happy hour special as well. Will definitely be back for Margarita Mondays!

My husband and I went here for dinner one night since we live in the neighborhood. The food was mediocre, but what I really disliked about this place was the service. The busing staff was great and friendly. However, our waitress seemed completely disinterested in us. She came by right after we sat down to take our drink orders, but being that we just sat down we didn't know what we wanted yet. It took her forever to come back and take our drink and dinner orders. Once we got our food we waited even longer for her to come to clear our plates and give us the check. She looked at my plate, which I hadn't touched in awhile, three times before I had to explicitly ask for a box. She didn't seem to be particularly busy either; I saw her socializing at one point with another server. I will not be going here again.

I have been to this place twice. The first time my fiance and I went there to watch a game in the morning, the service was ok, the waitresses were attentive and overall it was not a bad experience. I change my mind completely after the second visit. We got there at 1 pm and found a table with fellow fans to watch a game. We sat there for what seemed like a good 20 minutes and still none of the waitresses walking around noticed that we were the only table with no menus or water. We called out to one of them and they gave us the menu at that point. We ordered our food some time later (they still took a while to get to us). We ordered appetizers and main course and after waiting for a while, our main courses and appetizers all came out together. Any decent restaurant will know that you serve appetizers first and serve the rest at least when we are done half way through the apps. We constantly kept running out of water and our waitress never noticed (none of them did really). We had to keep asking for water, something i never had to do in any restaurant since there is always a waiter going around asking people on tables. The waitress (this short Gothic chic with black eye liner, short black skirt and a lot of vain attitude) never smiled or bothered to check in. Finally we ordered coffee, after again another lonnng time our coffee was served and the waitress said she is going to get cream and sugar for us. We waited around for 20-25 minutes, our coffees got cold and I started to get pissed off. When I stood up to take a look where she was, I saw her look at me, mutter "oh shit!" under her breath and turned around quickly to get our cream and sugar. She, had COMPLETELY forgotten about us, even when we were sitting at a huge damn table not some corner booth. When she got to our table I said, can we get a fresh pot of coffee? We have been waiting for a while and...and before I could finish, she picked up the coffee and in 2 seconds disappeared without listening to what i was saying/letting me finish. I have never seen so much attitude in a waitress before and she never bothered to smile or make us feel welcome as customers. If all this wasn't bad enough, when it was time for our check she over-charged us, mixed up everything and gave us the wrong bill. We had to return both the cheques at the table and she re-did them. Let me break down these simple facts of my experience to you: 1) If you don't enjoy your job you shouldn't be working there 2) If you can't smile and put customers first, don't be a bitch and show attitude. 3) Worst restaurant service I have ever been to in all the time I have been to Seattle 4) Mediocre food and not worth going back. I have found other places much more authentic and better quality and great service 5) I will not go back and won't recommend this place to anyone. Ever. This is by far the most horrific place and I eat out a lot. So take it from me, don't bother.

Chimpanzees are smarter than dogs and I enjoyed Laredos for dinner. The place was hopping. So... why not?! I tried an appetizer special, Camerones a la Diabla. It was a small plate of large grilled shrimp in a tomato, mushroom, onion and bell pepper sautee with corn tortillas. Sounds good, however, it's super spicy. Okay, beyond hot. And I burnt my tongue worst when I sipped on some wine. Kinda frustrated with the flavor and still into the ambiance, I added an awesome side salad. It was like a total lifesaver. Mixed lettuce greens with black beans and pumpkin seeds tossed in a cilantro dressing. The taste was mellow and cool. Yum! The food was okay. The people are alright. And the staff was cool.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere! I live up the hill from this place and can't believe it's taken me this long to yelp them. I came here for the first time about a year ago and have been going back at least once a week since! Their happy hour is the best, with great food specials and tasty drinks--you can get food and a drink for two people for around 10 bucks each. Not bad! As all of my friends know, I love their chicken taquitos in a big obsessive way...order them with flour tortillas instead of corn, you'll thank me later. Yum! I know it's still technically winter, but I am already fantasizing about sitting on their outdoor patio in the sunshine...come on summer!

i went here on new years day for a bloody mary and some mexican food with my friends. the bloody wasn't the best i've ever had, and neither was the burrito i ate. but it WAS good. the thing i really liked about this place: 1.) the service is good. i loved all our servers, and the rest of the staff seemed really nice too. 2.) ambiance: twinkly lights are always a yes in my book. 3.) Bob Marley. that was the music selection of the evening, and it wasn't just his Legend album. it was one of the more obscure compilations with his older stuff on it. it was cozy and sweet, and we had a great time.

My first complaint, never charge for chips and salsa. Yes, they are only a $1.50, however it is about the principle. They should be free. Incorporate the cost into the entrees or beer or something. It was scrumptious though. I rest my case. Second complaint, the chairs suck. I would have stayed for another margarita, but my ass hurt from sitting on I swear was the hardest chair ever built. I would not go back because of the chairs, seriously. Now to the good stuff. RE-TARDED portions. I ordered the daily special cobb salad Tex-Mex style. I swear it had more than a full head of romaine lettuce on it. Good flavor. The chicken was well done. I think the salad could have used a little dairy on it. For $12.95, I had food for days. Bonus. The multiple margaritas were yummers. The service was great. Yelp is all about whining. I am good at it. You trolls can suck it.

Really too bad what's happened to Laredos. Their "new" happy hour menu is still all your old favorites, but now only a couple are $4. The rest are $5 and $6. Walking in at 5:50 and afraid of being charged full price for your happy hour margarita? Don't worry about it! Margaritas are no longer on their happy hour menu. While it was strong, not worth the $8. Then there's the food. Friend and I both ordered fish tacos. Her fish had bones and mine was a greyish color and tasted fishy. When our waitress finally decided to check on us, I told her that the fish wasn't good and there was bones in it. "It's fresh fish," she said. I think not. We ended up getting the nachos which were fine (no guac, but it was still good.) Got charged for the margaritas and 1 order of fish tacos. Been going to Laredos since they opened, but probably not returning any time soon. Why spend good money on overpriced (and not good) food? The search for great Mexican tex/mex food in Seattle begins again!

As a native Texan, I was curious and excited to see a place that advertised itself as Tex-Mex in Seattle. I had been jonesing for it for quite some time. We made our way in on a Friday evening, and the place was lively. It didn't take long to get a table, or our first Margarita (which was about average). The food was a different story. We had a large group with a large appetite. Unfortunately the next visit from the server didn't come for another 20 minutes. By then I had memorized the menu. I had come with the intention of ordering some traditional Tex-Mex, but after looking at the specials menu, I noticed they had a Jamaican jerk chicken taco plate, with a footnote saying that it was "just like" the one at Torchy's Tacos (in Austin, TX). Not quite Tex-Mex, but as an avid fan of Torchy's, I had no other choice but to give it a try. It was about a 40 minute wait until the entrees came out, but we had plenty of chips and salsa to keep us civil. The salsa had a nice kick to it, and made you want to roll your Rs when you spoke. The food came out, and as the server lowered my plate to eye level, I noticed some tiny tree-shaped objects on it. I was about to ask if they had just deforested a Pixie village, when I realized what it was - broccoli. I have no problem with the vegetable per se, but I had never seen it served with Tex-Mex. Then a second cause for alarm - the tacos , although flowing over with meat, were only surrounded by one corn tortilla each. Surely a Tex-Mex joint would know the two corn tortilla rule. It's completely necessary to stabilize the taco hull. I was concerned. As I lifted the unstable taco, there was a taco hull breach, and chicken juice started spouting out from corn tortilla fractures. Taco structural integrity had been lost. Then after the first bite, I had realized that this was in fact NOT "just like" Torchy's. The chicken was dry, the spice-level was at a 3 out of 11, and the only jerk was the person who oversold this taco by comparing it to Torchy's. Immediately after that bite, the taco disintegrated into a sad pile on my plate. The consensus around the table was that the food was decent, but cheese was used sparingly if at all. One of my friends ordered the fajitas, and had to ask for cheese. Something you should never have to do at a true Tex-Mex place.

This place was pretty mediocre, if bad. The salsa definitely came out of a jar from Safeway, and the chips were flavorless. My margarita was strong, so that did wonders to improve the rest of the food. I asked for no salt, though, and of course they brought it out with a salted rim. I have to wonder why people even ask that question if they plan to ignore my response. I got the mole tacos, which were actually decent. My boyfriend ordered the dungeness crab enchiladas, which were a huge mistake. They were so disgusting, I can't even properly describe them. They tasted like egg salad with a little bit of spice on top. The only upside of this place was that they were playing soccer highlights on the TV directly above our table. I'd say skip it.

Wow. Great food. The chef does an amazing job of making these dishes unique and delicious. This place was recommended by a friend and I am so glad they did, I called two days in advance (very short notice) to reserve a table for a party of 10. They said it wasn't a problem at all! Very accommodating.

3.5 stars!?? WTF!!?!?! Ok, I don't ever eat mexican food. I just find it plain and boring. But this place changes my perspective on Mexican food. Every dish I've ordered so far was amazingly delicious! The bar setup is great, and the decor suits the establishment very well. The bartenders and servers are very friendly, they complimented me and my partner on how well we were dressed by thinking we were homosexuals. Overall its averagely priced for downtown, parking isn't too bad, will definitely have future visits.

Great great food and very rude phone and in-person service. I go there about once a week or more since it is literally three blocks from my house. Service on the telephone is always rude with the servers never seeming to recognize the order even though there are only a few things on the simple menu. IF it wasnt for the fact that it is a few steps from my house the service would be enough to keep me away. On the other hand, drinks are good and strong and there is always an interesting group of locals inside at the bar. I recently asked one of my Bellevue friends to walk down and grab the food while I got ready. He came back so pissed off telling me , that "the waitress and hostess were so rude he almost walked out". Dont expect to get happy hour pricing on to- go food even if you are a regular that eats here several times a week. Much better food than Pesos a few blocks up and its location is ideal. Thank God the food is great and prices are more than fair. It's almost as if this place succeeds despite itself.

We live nearby so we come here every now and then when I don't feel like cooking. The food and drinks are pretty good. I love the carne asada fries. I love the casual atmosphere too. The service is usually pretty fast. We came last Saturday night and it was pretty busy. The hostess was kind of rude. Not out of her way rude, but just not friendly at all! We came in and asked for a table for two and she said, "Wait a minute." and walked away. I feel like a more appropriate thing to say would be something like, "Ok. I'm just going to go check on a table, I'll be right back." Maybe she was in a bad mood because I didn't see her smile once. Our server was so friendly and nice though, so it made up for the hostess.

On of my favorites in QA and my favorite Mexican restaurant in QA. Good food, their slow roasted pork is as good as any. They also have a steak salad that is just HUGE, and I'm a big eater. I wish their chips and dip were complementary, but it's worth the few bucks. Their margaritas are great!

During the same week that I discovered The Great Nabob, I also got to visit Laredos for the first time. Lived in this neighborhood almost two months now and finally get a piece of their happy hour. On one of our rare sunny mid to high 50's Saturdays we walked the couple blocks and got seated at a bar high table immediately upon arrival. (Just in the nick of time at 5:45 as happy hour ends at 6) I had a tecate and taquitos while the lady had a house margarita (they come in a pint glass, nice!) and the tacos al pastor. Both of our little dishes were so good and the order of queso sure complimented it well. The queso and salsa that comes with the chips are perfect amount of heat. The tacos al pastor were almost, ALMOST as good as my favorite ones in Rosarito Beach, Mexico. I really love this place, the decor is awesome, the music is good and not too loud (cough*Pesos*cough) and our server was one of the genuinely nice and attentive that we've had in a long time. I have a feeling we will be here a lot when the weather gets warmer and we want to enjoy some sweating mugs of Negro Modelo on tap.

I'm glad I went back. We went in December 2010 when it had recently opened. We were charged non-happy hour prices on margaritas...not because we didn't order them in time, but because staff rang out stuff up after happy hour ended. Same with a couple appetizers. Staff was so busy that we didn't bother trying to get it resolved. Things seem to be running more smoothly there. You may upgrade my vote to 4 starts on next visit. 2nd visit in May 2011 was dinner - carnitas enchiladas were pretty good. Wasn't as enthused about the steak (shoot, was it skirt?) special. Margarita didn't disappoint.

Grace is the best waitress/server ever!!!! she is so friendly, and definitely a sight :) Now talking about the food, their avocado margarita that she recommended was dangerously good!!!! it reminds me of the vietnamese avocado shake that my momma used to make when we were kids, but a little bit of a kick! anyways, I got the chicken fajitas, and they were hands down the best that I have ever had. Not dry, and their rice were freaking delicious. I could have had another serving, but I didn't want to be a heefer. As for the rest of my friends, they came earlier for happy hour, and I took their advice that it their food was tasty. by then, they were so drunk they could have had chips and salsa and it could have been amazing for them hahah all in all, try to get grace as a waitress and give her a big tip! she's amazing!!!! :)

I still miss Veil. Sigh. But it's nice to see something in the space once occupied by one of my favorite neighborhood spots. I can easily see Laredos becoming a new hangout when I feel like staying close to home. The atmosphere is laid back amongst fairly typical urban Mexican-American decor. The remodel was extensive, creating an entirely new and inviting entrance and gutting the interior to reveal heavy wood beams and brick walls. There is quite a bit of bar seating, but a limited number of tables, so call ahead for reservations if coming for dinner with a group of four or more. The menu is fairly standard fare at very reasonable prices ($8.50 for two tacos plus rice, beans, barbecued veggies). The drinks are set at downtown Seattle prices ( I think my avocado margarita -- surprisingly creamy and yummy! -- was about $9 or $10). Service was superb and prompt. The food, while good, didn't blow me away and the drink list wasn't especially creative (with the exception of the avo margi), but this spot is certainly a tasty addition to the neighborhood.

This is why I'm giving Laredos 3 stars (and I'm echoing what others have said here): The food is good and the service was great, but what you get isn't quite worth the price. It's tough choosing places to eat when you've just moved to a new city. With thoughts of my old Chicago Mexican food haunts still pretty fresh, I perused Yelp to find something that fit my personal Wednesday night bill: simple, fresh, straight-up Mexican or Tex-Mex, a full bar, and the prices of the fare to be, uh... fair. Oh, and they had to take cards. So instead of comparing places 'til I was so hungry I chewed my own arm off, I picked Laredos. Service was prompt and friendly. It sucks having to shell out for chips and salsa, but the chips were freshly made, and when I asked for hot sauce (it was pretty dark & I didn't see it in the bucket on the table), the waiter brought me a "spicier" salsa from the back. (And am I wrong, or are Seattleites afraid of spicy food?) Anyhoo, it didn't quite fit the heat bill, but it was okay, and a nice gesture. I drank a Paloma, and it was fine (not a big tequila drinker). I ordered the four taco plate: two black bean, two al carbon. Both tasted fresh & were garnished nicely, but the steak needed a little salt. The pickled peppers & carrots on the plate were delish. The waiter was very sweet and brought me lots of extra limes (you need more than one tiny lime wedge on a plate for four tacos, buddies). Sincerely, the meal was fine, but when the bill came, I felt that I'd been pretty short-changed. I think the owners of the joint are trying to make up the $$ they sunk into it with prices higher than they ought to be. They either need to match the prices to the food, or they need to throw some more fanciness on those plates.

I can't wait to go back here for the food! Cute place with a great atmosphere. Good drinks and friendly staff. We just stopped in for a quick beverage, but we will go back soon I hope to try the eats. We heard good things from the customers chowing down at the bar.

Well Laredos got off to a good start, but there are a few things that have happened since their opening that have dropped them down a bit. First off, their prices have gone up, in some cases a few dollars per entree. I think this makes them too expensive for a mexican restaurant. The brunch, something I was looking forward to, is just not there for me -- strange offerings that seem just plain, well, strange. Also, I took some friends here, and one of them ate a taco. Little did she (or anyone) know, that they put nuts in their tacos. She has a nut allergy, and we almost had to go to a hospital. They do not state that their tacos have nuts in them. We suggested that they put that on their easily printable menus, but that information is still missing. Not good. The good news: Laredos has expanded with lunch offerings (but which are not offered in evenings, why not?) . Also, they now have a patio that is cramped, but nice for summer days.

I like this place on a sunny, summer day for the large, outside area but the food is mediocre at best. The last time I went during happy hour the food was downright lousy, flavorless and greasy and the nachos were literally thrown together.

I am giving Laredos 4 stars based on my experience drinking only. I'm going to have to return for dinner and update my review later. Stopped in with 2 friends after being told that Citizen was closing. I like the dark, smoky atmosphere. There were a good amount of peole in there at 9 on a wednesday. We took a look at the drink menu and decided to keep drinking wine. At $8 apiece for margaritas (more for the "special" ones) we weren't that invested. So we went with the suggestion of our waitress to try the "wine of the week" from the prior week (if they had it) or otherwise get the Malbec. She brought back three glasses and away we went. The malbec was good, and was priced pretty well. $7 for a glass, or $24 for the bottle. Not quite sure why she didn't at least recommend the bottle. Oh well. Maybe she knew we didn't *really* need it. It was a good enough experience to make me want to come back and try their food.

I like! Good, strong house margaritas and at a great price of $4 during their two happy hours. I like their enchiladas, tacos, gaucamole, flautitas, and blended avocado margarita. I want to float in a pool of avocado margaritas! Great location in Lower Queen Anne with easier to find parking than the Queen Anne Ave area. Post-workday draws in a young professional crowd looking to wind down and relax. This is Tex-Mex with a pub like atmosphere. I will be back for more.

If you are looking for a decent neighborhood divey mexican place, this is a great choice. The atmosphere is pretty lively, staff is friendly, and the food is always pretty good. It isn't mind blowing but consistently decent drinks and food and the guac is pretty good opposed to many places which are overly whipped or taste more avacado substitute.

I think Laredos has alot of potential, but wasn't quuuuiiiite there yet when we had dinner last Oct. Some friends live on the same block and I still haven't been chompin at the bit to rush back even though I walk past it a couple times a month. The space itself is lovely. Dark, nicely decorated, big windows, and a variety of seating options (bar, table, booth). Service was just OK though. When we arrived we had to wait awhile to be seated even though there were plenty of open tables. The hostess seemed a little confused and/or new. There's not much room to wait in front of the door either, FYI. Our server was fine but some friends joined us for drinks after we ate and the bill got all screwed up. Laredos serves complimentary chips and salsa, which earns a Star right there! The homemade chips were great, the tomatillo salsa was good, but the regular salsa was just OK. The menu is small and I wasn't excited about that many options. We ordered the diabla camarones ($13.95) and some (vegetarian?) tacos ($10.50). There were only 5 or 6 shrimp and they were so spicy they were practically inedible. Now I loooove me some spicy food, but this spice wasn't about flavor, it was about burning. The plate also included a pile of veges that seemed to have been meant for a fajita platter. They didn't serve any purpose but to justify the steep price. The tacos were pretty good but I don't remember anything other than they were more edible than the Burning Camarones. I made a note that they were served with squash, which I am not a fan of, but I actually ate and enjoyed this as a side. I also noted that the tortillas were homemade and yummy. Overall I was not impressed with the food, but am thinking perhaps we made poor selections and other items on the menu are better? My friend said she orders vegetarian quesadillas and she loves them. I guess I'd try Laredos again for Happy Hour, since the prices were out of line for the quality and quantity of food. Also, they hadn't been open for that long, so maybe some things have improved in the last 8 months. I hope so, since Seattle doesn't need one more mediocre Mexican place!

I would say its a toss up between Laredo's and Pecado Bueno for best tacos. I like how this place is in a neighborhood and how easy it is to find parking. I would say both of these places are a notch above El Camion and Tacos Guaymas.

I like this place because it is kind of a hole in the wall with amazing drinks and a fun selection of food. Outdoor seating was fabulous! The only reason it didn't get 5 stars because the service was not so good and the food presentation was sad.

Went here when it was Veil and just love the location. Laredos is awesome though! Great bar staff and fantastic food!! A friend and I split the carne asada quesadilla, the nachos, and the steak fajitas. Before our entrees came we were already full off of the nachos which were delicious!

The chips and salsa were amazing! Our group ate at least 5 baskets. I wish I could say the same about the rest of the meal. The rice was over or undercooked(either way it was crunchy) and the camarones diabla were just okay. A few others ordered tacos that looked and tasted similar to good ole taco truck tacos, but with a little higher price tag. I'll probably go again for drinks, but not for dinner. The happy hour sounded like a good deal and you can't beat free chips and salsa!

I'll preface this by saying this is more of a response to an awful experience on Cinco de Mayo rather than a full on review of their food / beverages. I've been going here since they opened and have had generally good experiences with both. When trying to find something to do on Cinco de Mayo they weren't at the top of my list but when I read that their new deck would be open and they would have specials all day on a seattletimes.com article ( seattletimes.nwsource.co… ) I figured it would be a great place to go. I arrived a little after 5 to the busiest that I've seen Laredos, which was completely understandable given the date. What wasn't understandable was their stance that the "all-day" specials only ran from 11am-4pm (I was told "all day ends at 4") and that their Happy Hour, one of the better ones around in my opinion, was also on hiatus for the day, despite the fact that their street placard advertised it as "every day from 4-6". This is blatant false advertising and shows a complete lack of respect for your customers. I left pretty quickly and directed the sizable group we were meeting with away from Laredos.

Avocado margarita? So good. I dont' know how much avocado they actually blend into it but the flavor is delicious, one of the best margaritas I've had, whether it was the avocado or just a really good margarita mix. The warm chips and green and red salsa are delish. We added chile con queso, it has a bit of a kick but is creamy and yummy. I had the mole enchiladas and my hubby got 6 steak tacos. The homemade corn tortillas had great flavor and each of our bites had such a good combo of spices in them. I can't wait to go in the summer and enjoy a margarita outside. Our server was kind of a B but the rest of the staff was great so we overlooked her bad mood. This will be a regular as new residents of Queen Anne.

I have never had an advocado margarita before going here for happy hour...but boy was it worth it....so tasty! Great happy hour specials; pork/pineapple tacos are your best bet....and go sit outside on a sunny day if possible. We are heading there for happy hour tonight actually.

2 blocks away from my house, automatic stars! Decent food and service. Main bummer is they do not serve complimentary chips and salsa... They charge :( seems like a cheap move when every other Mexican restaurant serves them free. But like I said its right down the road and the food is pretty good. Cant complain too much.

After some pleasurable initial visits, recent meals here have been disappointing. In December my wife bit into something white, rubber and chewy, something what we initially thought was a condom. Turned out it was part of a rubber glove used for food prep. Our meals were comped but as you can imagine we had lost our appetites. We returned again on a slow night and received extremely slow service. The inattentive server took orders from several other tables seated after us before we were approached. Her perfume was as overpowering as the overly spicy tomato salsa garnish that accompanied the meal. It was 4 alarm spicy to the point of being inedible and I'm a hot sauce junkie.

Avocado Margarita? It tastes like a breakfast smoothie with a kick! Go for one, then hit the House variety (a few times). This place is a much better hoodie spot than it's former venue, Veil. Tex-Mex-ish, with great tacos, guac, all of the typical fare - plus awesome chips and spicy, chunky sauces. Lots of drink options, great service and cool, simple, yet festive decor. Happy Hour, too.

I live very close to Laredo's, so it's my go-to place when I want to grab a quick bite with a friend. The food is very good, the mini tacos are as authentic as I've had in Seattle, and the avocado margarita is amazing. In fact, all of their drinks are amazing. I've sampled most of them and not a bad one yet! In the summer, the little deck is a great place to sip margaritas with friends and take advantage of happy hour apps. Over the last 2 years I've seen a lot of different servers, some good, some really not good, but I keep coming back for the delicious food and drinks.

We walked here on a rainy night so we were pleased with the fast service. Literally after ordering drinks and food, we had our order within 5 minutes. The "super sonic" drink was awesome. It tasted just like a Sonic cherry limeade and was made with a berry vodka. My biggest complaint was the spiciness of the food. My husband had the mole enchiladas and I had the avocado salad. Both dishes were good but excessively spicy. My avocado salad had a "sweet dressing" that was too much for me to handle. I am very sensitive to spices but my husband can handle it. I was surprised how uncomfortable he was eating his dish. The dessert gave us a good last impression. We had the churros and asked to sub the whipped cream with ice cream. It was amazing! The churros were crispy and had a delicious filling. Overall, I think we will go back for another try and ask for less spices.

This place just popped up in our neighborhood as if by magic and as with any new experience we were skeptical before our first visit. I'm from the southwest and I'm a snob about Mexican food, but as soon as a chomped down on one of their corn tortillas I knew they were made in house. Always a plus! Great setup inside and it's roomier than the outside corner space looks like it would be so bring your friends. The prices are worth what you get and everyone has always been nice when we've stopped by. Glad they're my new neighbors now!

Soooo good. My fella and I where pleasantly surprised by how good the food was since the Yelp ratings were mixed. Both of our plates were fantastic. Enchiladas were delicious and the chili relleno is a mouth explosion of yum.

Holy moly! Last night I was treated to some Seattle rain. I loved it. It was one of the things I was hoping to get to experience on my trip up here. Ya know, soaked jeans up to my knees, big boots to save my feet from water damage and of course plenty of puddle action to splash around in. I knew this image would be mine if I hoped hard enough while in town, but what I didn't expect was the amazing discovery I shoved into my mouth last night! I love meat. It's no secret. When I don't have it, I feel like a woman scorned. I can't help it, it's just how I'm wired. So you can imagine the refrigerator comedy that ensued when I arrived in Seattle to crash with my borderline vegan, definitely vegetarian friend. I looked in her icebox and the only thing I recognized was a pack of strawberries. The rest, well, I don't think there was actually any real food in there, although she's been leaving the kitchen with plates of food. Weird. Anyway, knowing the carnivore buddy she signed up for, she's gone out of her way to try to find me stellar meat places to go buck wild in and Loredo was a supreme choice. They have an unassuming little item called the Steak Laredo on the menu. It's hidden between the Carne Asada Fajitas and a few other traditional sounding dishes, so if you scroll too fast, you might just miss it. Being the Eagle Eye MeatGoo that I am, however, I didn't miss it at all and asked the bartender if he would recommend that over the fajitas. He said, hands down, get the steak. And so, since I usually believe a man who pours me drinks, I decided to go for a medium rare offering of it and went back to sipping my Avocado Margarita. Oh, I didn't even go into that yet. This Avocado Marg is a straight up dream! So smooth, so creamy, so rich and deelish. I could bathe in that stuff it was so tasty! Definitely worth ordering one if you are in here. From what it sounds like, they are the only place on the West Coast doing this drink, so get on it, Seattle-ites! And now back to my steak... After my steak had been cooked up to perfection, it was carried over with the help of 9 men, okay, that's a slight exaggeration, but the damn thing was HUGE!!! This was no wimpy rib eye. This was a hunk of meat to be reckoned with! It was cooked to a delightful medium rare and covered with fried onions and a jalapeno, cilantro butter that was the perfect flavor palate to combine with the smoky mesquite grilled steak. Lordy bagordy! Without breaking a sweat, I devoured this monster of meat and never looked back. Paired with a glass of their Tempranillo and it was a true treat and delectable beyond words. I am also making that steak a promise, to never forget it and to talk about it to other meat lovers who may one day cross my path. A truly dazzling steak in a darling venue. Go, just fucking go, people!! Your meat loving hearts will not be sorry!

My first time here, I reviewed at 2 stars for various reasons - slow service, no soft drink selection, sub par dish, but I told the owner I'd be back, and I did tonight. I'm glad I did. We were seated right away and got service right away. The music made us dance in our seats. Hurray for Iced Tea! It was delicious. If you don't like fruity iced tea, don't order this. I normally don't like it, but Laredos tea was delicious! As always, the salsa was tasty. Can I please buy some for my house? just an idea. I had the chicken quesadilla. It was on the "petite plates" menu but it was enormous. My boyfriend had to help me finish. This quesadilla was DELICIOUS. 3 kinds of cheese, delicious peppered chicken on a friend flour tortilla. I'm glad I went back, and I'll be back again. Thanks, Jose!

Do not order the grilled fish tacos. This is what I told the guy sitting next to me at the bar. I was trying to give him a heads up and start a conversation. But that's where the conversation ended. Maybe he was offended because his girlfriend worked there. Who knows? Back to the food. The fish just was not seasoned well. It was bland. The rice didn't have much flavor either. The vegetables were good and I also enjoyed the pinto beans. Oh and the fried chips! I love freshly fried tortilla chips. Oh but the salsas and the pico, more flavor fails. Oh and I am soooo over the avocado margarita. The pre mix has too much lime that overshadows the avocado when if is added so you probably wouldn't even no it was an avocado margarita unless you ordered it. The bartender was cute, nice, and friendly which is a definite plus. I was the only lady at the bar for awhile (besides the cute bartender and cute waitresses fluttering in and out). It was packed with guys all staring at their cellphones. I couldn't get a word in cuz they were all updating facebook or something. Oh but about the restaurant... The decor is pretty neat. There are cool paintings of a devil and half naked lady so keep your eye out for those surprises. Also I like how there aren't mirrors behind the liquor bottles. You can look behind them to outside which is unique. And the bathroom is clean which is great! I'll go back but only because of it's close proximity to where I live and I'll order something else or actually I'll probably just get a few beers.

I recommend this place for consistently good food, specifically the steak or chicken fajitas, tortas for brunch, a la carte taco platters, and generous wine pours. Service is great about 75% of the time. I took away one star for being over-priced (the large plates should be $2-$4 cheaper) and wanted to take another half star for being too loud sometimes.

First time guest at Laredos Grille tonight...and I'm a fan! Fun, casual atmosphere, fantastic staff, and some of the best Tex-Mex I've ever had (and I'm typically not a fan). I'll definitely be back to this great little neighborhood gem.

"Taqueria lunch" is as advertised: tacos, burritos, tortas, and quesadillas (plus a few side dishes). It's not great, but it does beat Blue Water, Taco del Mar, and Barracuda for this sort of meal near the Seattle Center. I ended up with three tacos that were pretty good but each somewhat flawed in a different way. The al pastor taco (true al pastor, not just grilled pork) was flavorful but the meat was rather dry despite the preparation method, the ancho-braised pork taco was pleasantly spicy but a bit soggy (not so much as to prevent me from picking it up, though), and the mahi mahi taco included one big slice of fish rather than manageable pieces. It feels like they are putting forth a genuine effort but don't quite care enough to be truly great. Prices are higher than I'd expect to pay at a true taqueria or taco truck, but not unreasonable for a sit-down restaurant in this neighborhood. Lower Queen Anne is not known for either cheap rents nor a large Mexican population. Of course, the best part of the experience is looking around and realizing that this used to be Veil. Anyone who remembers Veil ought to visit Laredos at least once just to see how much the space has changed. Overall, it's probably the best Mexican option for the neighborhood but not so exciting as to be worth a special trip. Give it a shot next time there's something going on at the Seattle Center.

My friends recently moved nearby so we decided to check this place out a few nights ago. We heard the frozen margaritas were pretty yummy, and Jose, the bartender gave us a sample beforehand. One sip, I was sold. Be warned, their margaritas are pretty stiff. Jose also let us sample a new drink they were testing out - it was a blend of sangria and the frozen margarita. Good thing I knew it had alcohol in it beforehand, otherwise I would have downed the entire thing because it literally just tasted like 7-11 slurpee. I ordered the fish tacos and my friend ordered the carne asada fries. We also were given a basket of chips and salsa to munch on with our drinks. The fish tacos were decent, evident by me clearing out my entire plate and my friend stated that the fries were the best fries she's ever had. The bartenders were great and friendly, especially Jose. Cute spot, awesome location. I'll definitely be back for some more margaritas.

Ok so my first visit here was good. Decent service and REALLY good food. (I give the food 5 stars). Recently I was just there for dinner with my fiance. It was packed (it was a cowboys game and anyone who has been there during a cowboys game knows its going to be busy) so I wasn't surprised we got a little bit slow service during dinner but no big deal. (we waited 45 minutes to get our food, which happened to be DELICIOUS). A few friends decided to stop by and meet us for some drinks after we had finished eating. Our waitress suddenly became the WORST waitress of all time, Daniella was her name. We asked for another round of drinks while we waited for our friends and she brings us the wrong drinks and acted like it wasn't her fault, later my fiance has to ask her about 3 times for another tecate, literally waving the empty can at her and each time she acknowledged him (at this point the game was long over, so it wasn't busy and she completely neglected to clean up our table throughout the entire dinner service). When it is time to pay she gave us a bill with 3 more drinks on it than we had ordered so we told her and when she brought it back she gave us another persons receipt (not realizing this until AFTER she rang up the card [she rang up the card before we saw the new ticket and we thought she had given us a discounted ticket due to horrible service]) then she voided that order and finally gave us our correct receipt except she also added a group gratuity to our bill even though only two of our friends sat with us while the others got a completely separate table from us. At this point we were too aggravated to care about that. Anyway, that was TERRIBLE service. beware of that waitress. EDIT: 2/16/13 Since this review, I have noticed some WONDERFUL changes to Laredo's. I've been back probably 3 or 4 times since I wrote that review. First of all, I haven't seen that waitress back there again and they made new menus and added new items to it, as well. Service has been divine! All of the waitresses seem to know and understand the menus and like to interact with you. I'm not sure if they now have new management or what but I am pleasantly surprised with the upgrades! So I've upgraded my review from 3 star to 4 star! Go Laredo's! (and thank you for making your salsas a little less spicy, I appreciate that!). I don't give them a full 5 stars because I feel like some of their items are a little overpriced (like $8 for guacamole... seriously? I could buy $8 worth of guac stuff to make myself and feed a village).

I went to Laredos Grill last night following a serious craving for Mexican food. The neighborhood is very nice, street parking right out in front, but lends to a mostly local crowd, at least that's my impression. With a lot of apartments nearby it is a nice neighborhood restaurant to walk to if you live in the area. Inside the restaurant the ambiance is a dark Laredo-themed cool, with lots of little lights everywhere, heavy wooden tables, etc. It looks like it would fit in very well in Austin, TX. There is a small wall that splits up the bar area and the dining area so you can watch sports while you eat. However it's not too loud or imposing if you don't want to see it. We had the guacamole which was good but not outstanding. You can tell when they make it to order versus at the beginning of the shift. I think this was the beginning of the shift variety. The avacado margarita is an interesting drink. If you like blended margs give it a try, it's pretty good. I'm not a big fan of blended margs but I still enjoyed it. I think they just use enough avocado puree to thicken it up, I didn't taste much avocado flavor. I had the Steak Laredo at the suggestion of a fellow yelper and it was delicious. The pile of onions on top is a little too much and you can tell the meat isn't top quality (kind of tough and a lot of fat) but still, it's prepared very well and the flavor is excellent once you get past the big ol pile of onions. Rice and beans were good, standard side dish fare. SO had the fish tacos and gave them a 4 out of 5 rating. Her side dish of veges had a HUGE amount of garlic on it, not sure what that is about. The service was top notch, very attentive but not overly so. A few months back I went to a restaurant in downtown Phoenix called Gallo Blanco and it seems to have jaded me for most other Mexican and Southwestern food. But Laredos Grill is still a very good restaurant, they have great deals on happy hour and reverse happy hour, and a strong ambiance and great service.

Went here last night for dinner and drinks with friends and were seated right away. The service was friendly though a little absent at times. I ordered the avocado margarita which was delicious. The taste only hinted of avocado...the real area that it added to was the texture. This was the smoothest margarita I have ever had - I would DEFINITELY order this again. We started with the chili con queso which was creamy and totally delicious with the fresh tortilla chips we were served when we first sat down. For dinner I ordered the Tacos al Pastor plate. The pork was a little tough and it had a very interesting mix of spices on it that almost seemed a bit sweet (maybe cinnamon and cumin???). Overall the food was only OK but the drinks and atmosphere were great. I think this is really a great happy hour spot (and the specials seem awesome) and I'll certainly be back for that!

Any place that serves Shiner Bock is already off to a great start! I was the only person at my table drinking it because everyone was getting rounds of the avocado margaritas. The drinks here tasted great! The chips, salsa, and queso were tasty. The guac that we ordered was pretty brown, we commented on this to our server and he waived it from our bill. Needless to say I thought the customer service was nice! The Pollo and Steak Laredo was very tasty. The steak was huge and the Tecate beer cheese sauce on the pollo...OMG i'm hungry again. Laredos of Queen Anne brings a little taste of Tex-Mex to Seattle. Can't wait to go back!

I love Laredo's "real Mexican" Grill! If you despise Peso's, go here. It's not Peso's. It's better and there aren't as many striped shirts, and there's elbow room. It's the anti-Peso's. Anyway, the food is muy tasty cuando tiene hambre. The frijoles barrachos are awesome, as are the Tacos al Carbon. I haven't had a chance to try the rest of the menu, but I will. Wash down whatever you're eating with a Tecate or Modelo Negro. The avacado margarita is deceptively good, in case you're picturing guacamole in a glass. That's not it at all. Try it. I bet you'll be surprised.

Some of the worst Mexican food I've had in Seattle. I think the bar for average Mexican grub has been set by Azteca and Jalisco's. If you can't come in at that level, don't even bother. That said, they're going to do well. It's a good place for drinks. It opened near my place a few weeks ago and has been packed on weekends with skanks and douchebags. It's operated by the same folks as Talarico's, another douchebag bar with a mediocre restaurant inside.

My wife and I have been to Laredos twice and both times we loved it. It can be hard to get into but what I liked was that the food actually has really good spice to it. I don't know what happened in a couple of these reviews where they thought the food was bland. I eat chili peppers and hot sauces all the time and no I don't just like the heat, I like the individual flavors. Laredos has an almost unique flavoring that is really enjoyable. One time we order the Nachos and the amazing thing was besides the wonderful salsas and flavoring of the meat on the nacho's was that they almost tasted smoked. It was fantastic. One of the things that really surprised me was how good the Avocado Margarita was! No, it did not taste like Avocado but the Avocado made the drink kind of creamy! The prices can be high but then again it's in Seattle and I would bet that between the cost of paying employees, Seattle's Business and Operating taxes, and the rent for the building probably has a lot to do with the prices on the menu. Overhead like that is always what kills a restaurant. We have family that owns a restaurant and we know what goes on. Every time everyone starts jumping up and down to raise minimum wage they are then all upset because restaurants like this one have higher prices on their menus. Where in the world do you think those higher wages come from?

I love Laredos. I love anything right in that part of Queen Anne! With all the condos and apartments it's destined to do well (I guess Veil was a big FAIL)! Salsa is good but ask for the pico de gallo with your chips - I can't get enough! Their late night happy hour is NOT TO BE MISSED... great food and CHEAP. The place isn't so packed yet that it's hard to get a table. It feels like Matador but not as frat boy-ish. My favorite dish is the Tacos Al Carbon. Yum!

I confess...the queso dips are what drew me to coming here, but I will actually be back. Laredos is a solid addition to LQA...so much so that the hubby said if he still lived over there that he would feel comfortable coming in on his own for a drink and some food. We were there on the earlier side of a Saturday night, but they had a seated a large party of about 20 in the back room, but that didn't increase the overall volume of the restaurant too much which is a big plus when you are there to be able to talk to AND hear the person you are with. You could tell the servers were a bit overwhelmed and the place wasn't even at capacity. We weren't in a huge hurry so can't really diss on them (as our waters eventually got refilled). The salsas that are served with the chips were tasty...a rojo and a verde. The chips themselves weren't the typical super greasy Mexican chain restaurant chips, which is a good thing but I found myself wishing the server would take them away. I eventually begged her to. We ordered the Rancho Chile Con Queso...I enjoyed it more than JP but was wishing for some veggies to dip instead of the chips. For entrees I went with the Guerros salad with carne asada (second time eating meat in a week and wow, it was seasoned really well). I liked the fact that the dressing wasn't super heavy (since I forgot to ask for it on the side). JP ordered the chicken mole enchiladas which he really enjoyed (he said the veggies served with it were tasty too). I definitely want to come back and check out their happy hour. This is a great casual spot to grab drinks and a bite...the menu isn't as massive as Pesos, but then again, at least I didn't feel like l need to deep cleanse when I was leaving either.

"There's a new Tex-Mex place where Veil use to be" exclaimed my boyfriend. I love Tex-Mex so it wasn't to difficult to get me to try this place. Laredos is in its first week of business so clearly they are some wrinkles to iron out, but it did have some great points. The avocado margarita was yummy. It's a very unusual drink, and I didn't think I would like it. The avocado puree compliments the tangy lime flavor of a traditional margarita. The puree also makes this drink super creamy and the bartenders don't skimp on the booze. The boyfriend had the sangria which was very refreshing. The drinks were a bit pricey, but I was surprised at how inexpensive the food was! For my meal, I ordered the carne asada. I have to say I enjoyed everything about the meal except the carne asada. The meat could have been more flavorful. However, everything else on my plate was delicious. The beans were very well seasoned, the grilled vegetables were cooked to perfection and the stuffed poblano pepper was spicy and flavorful. I also really enjoyed the green salsa. The wrinkles that need to be ironed out is that the service is a bit slow. It's a new place and that takes a bit of time to fall in place. Overall, I had a good experience at Laredos. I will be back and will try the pork tacos next time.

Laredos is one of my favorite bar/ restaurants in Seattle. I've tried nearly a dozen of their brunch / dinner menu items, and I've always been impressed! This is not your typical Seattle Mexican restaurant - everything is very authentic and flavorful. The restaurant has an upbeat and unique atmosphere as well. I highly recommend giving Laredos a try if you haven't already!

Granted i pretty much would have loved anything that is 4 blocks from my house....oh wait that's not true, i only went to veil once and then did not return, but back to laredos. margaritas are killer, i am a picky little thing when it comes to what touches my tequila and have an aversion to margaritas being too sweet. i asked the bartender to make it with just muddled limes and oranges, which usually gets me a dirty look and "oh god, you are one of those high maintenance people", but instead was met with a smoothly delivered "of course, let's make it perfect" and not in that snotty passive aggressive way that seattle loves...but genuinely stoked to make me a drink i would love. i promptly tipped $5 on my one drink to hopefully change the world and make all bartenders believe they will be rewarded for doing their job well. and lets be honest, i love it when i sit down and someone hands me chips and salsa, instantly i want another cocktail (bless them and their salt suggestive sales marketing). i have sampled a lot of the food, it is all good, not great, but good. and i will continue to roll down the hill and meet my neighbors!!!

Solid food, great flavors. Good/attentive service. Try the Chili verde when they have it. Tasty (and strong) margaritas that are $5 on Mondays. Hmm, have to check my schedule for what I am doing next Monday!

After reading all the reviews for the Avocado Margaritas, I decided to check it out. Actually I was ready to come here before that. Everyone is spot on. Avocado Margaritas are where it's at!! So great and not too sweet. Probably the only blended margarita I like. I've only been here once and there wasn't too many people in there. I thought the food was great (Natural Tacos or something was my dish). No meat in there, but the tacos were stuffed with enough other stuff that you didn't really notice. My only complaint would be that I do remember not liking the salsa that came with the chips once we sat down.

We tried only two dishes from their brunch menu (Chilquiles was one of them.) They were not good enough to entice us back for a dinner. And, if we were so inclined, our server Joey would have killed any notion of a return visit. Surly, creepy and lazy are three adjectives that come to mind. Never asked what we wanted to drink. Consequently, we did not order drinks. Never checked on us for our satisfaction after being served. Both of us left more than half of the serving on our plates. That did not spark an inquiry. The bartender didn't seem to care either as his time was spent schmoozing with a small group of friends ignoring the rest of the place. It is easy to see why at 12:30 on a Saturday the place was mostly empty. Whoever sunk their money into this spot needs to get back there and tend to business. Leaving your business in the hands of Joey is a recipe for failure.

Had 6 dishes 2 desserts And 4 avocado margaritas......every thing was delicious. I was born And raised in san antonio texas.....And the food reminded me OF home.....i will be returning.......oh ya did i mention im a chef?...so i am a reasonably decent judge on food. Only reason i gave 4 stars was because upon arrival i let the bartender know that myself And my fiance had never been to the restaurant. There was no schpiel...or anything once we ordered drinks And food, it was delivered, he walked away. We had no silverware, plates or napkins......we finally figured out that they are scattered across the bar top but a heads up would have been nice. the bartender wasnt rude nor was he very personable.

Biggest fan of their happy hour. Highly reccomend the blackened fish tacos. Make sure to finish with a scoop of their dulche del leche ice cream. You won't find it on there menu as it is paired with another dessert but if you ask they will serve it to you by the scoop.

I used to like Laredo's, but they've disappointed the last couple times I've gone and I probably won't go back. First, they changed their happy hour menu (no more cheap margaritas). The most recent time I went, the fish in my fish tacos was kinda gray and it had bones in it. No me gusta.

Our server Enrique was super friendly and attentive. We started with Tacos al Pastor - OK I could eat those all night. The Flautitas were nothing to write home about, though the accompanying salsa was great.. Nice presentations on all the dishes we had. We had the chicken quesadillas and thought they could have used more kick. The Simple Salad at happy hour time is a great deal at $3. Very large for an appetizer. Of the drinks we had, the house margarita was better than the Lone Star, which, having hibiscus, you'd think would be a foofy drink - it is not! It's not sweet. Drink prices even at happy hour did not make us terribly happy. I like having Laredo's in the neighborhood. My two suggestions: kick the spices UP a notch and the drink prices DOWN a notch.

Food was great. Drinks were great. Service was great. And I should know. I'm a brown person from Texas. We will go back here again and again.

i go here more for the drinks then the food. that is until i found the fish tacos, that you have to order blackened. slap on the happy hour price and its a done deal. i would have given them four stars but the last fish tacos i had were not as delicious as the previous times..... the queso is amazing and the $6 sunday brunch is a steal too.

My boyfriend and I had heard rumblings about Laredo's, so we decided to check it out. I'm kind of snobby when it comes to Mexican/Tex-Mex food. You have to have good salsa, good beans and good rice. Most people think of these as extras on the plate, but when that basket of chips comes out to my table, my judging begins. Laredo's has awesome salsa. It tastes fire roasted. It tastes like Yummy. The tomatillo salsa lacked a little something. but the red salsa was super good and earned two thumbs up from both me and my guy. The beans are smokey and so flavorful. No re-fried glop hidden in melted cheese. The rice is fluffy and perfectly flavored without being overly salty, or sticky or any kind of typical rice badness. I had the shrimp tacos. My fella had the steak... something...I can't remember what it was called. No matter. We were both Oooo-ing and nodding and pointing to our food like a couple of neanderthals unable to speak because our mouths were full of deliciousness. For me, the price was totally reasonable for the quality of food we got. I don't want a huge plate full of food that I can't finish, and is just huge for the sake of being huge. I paid $12.95 for a perfect plate of three amazing, flavorful tacos, beans, grilled veggies and rice. It was all quality and it was all yummy. We will be back, that's for sure. Oh...and a side note - The bartenders are nice eye candy.

Cool place to grab a beer and some food with friends. Beers like Shiner and Negra Modelo. Snacked on some Spicy Calamari (delicious) and Camarones ala Diabla (be careful they're spicy!). Really only go here because it's convenient.

Good chips, not good salsa. The food was bland and dry. Disappointed. Inside is a very cute atmosphere.

I'm surpised by any of the less than stellar reviews here. My husband and I went to Laredos during it's opening week and had a wonderful meal all the way around: great food, great service and great prices. We sampled a little bit of everything and loved it all. I'm not some non-initiated mexican food eater who doesn't know better. I grew up in CA eating some of the most authentic mexican possible. This was great tex-mex. Their homemade salsa's are awesome, the guacomole - so fresh (but I suggest mixing it together with the items that come in the same bowl first), the Taco's al pastor -so good! Yes, there are investors involved that own other restaurants. However, the managing owner is just a great guy, working his restaurant and making it a neighborhood go-to. And that's what we plan to do...go to it.

Easily the best place that has opened in Queen Anne in some time-- this is my favorite casual restaurant in Seattle. Laredos consistently offers great service and delicious food. We frequent this place due to the great happy hour and laid back vibe. With a mix of Jarabe de Palo, Carlos Vives, Mana, and more on the playlist, we tend to hang out here in the evenings while enjoying some of the best chips and salsa in the area. 100% Recommended. NOTE: We just recently went in and found that they have a list of $6 breakfast meals on the menu. I couldn't find the menu on their website, but it offers full portions that are every bit as delicious as their regular spread. I can't remember what time it ends...but I do know we were served around 1:30pm on a Sunday. Nice addition!

Do not be afraid of the avocado margarita. In fact, go right ahead and order one immediately just so you can say you did. It's a sweet margarita treat whose only resemblance to an avocado is the fantastic green color and the fact that it's kind of a thick. Anyway, how things change in a year! I threw my 25th birthday party at Veil, and returned 1 year later for a friend's birthday party under the same roof. Smart of them to change the entrance. Smart of them to serve food 'til 1am in the hopes of catching a late-night crowd. Smart of them to serve tex-mex, because generally everyone likes that, whereas Veil definitely an upscale foodie experience. I wasn't deterred by the prices- bottles of wine are $18-$20, the Avocado Marg is about $9, and a regular marg is $6.50. The food was alright - the queso fundido was good and the nachos were topped with a ton of guacamole. This works for a neighborhood spot, but I doubt I'll go back because the location is out of my way.

I like the vibe of this place, the decor is fun and the food is really good. I love the carne asada fries and flan.

I've been there several times now, and I enjoy it enough to keep going back. But as far as innovative Mexican food goes, its a 3star. The food is good, the service is good. But nothing stands out. In fact they have actually gone backwards. The plates now come with rice and beans like every other mex restaurant. I miss the grilled veg that it used to come with. I'd say its more a great place for a appy and drink than a dinner restaurant. With a little work this could be great. The salsa both red and green is amazing, and decore is fun and relaxed. they do have to turn off the two large tv's though.

I have been to Laredo's twice since the opening, and have no complaints. The service has been great - friendly and welcoming. They didn't even fuss when our party doubled in size and we had to move from the bar to the restaurant, and request split checks. Personally, I really like the food. The chips and salsa are quick and bottomless, and very salty (yum!). On my last trip I ordered the Tostada de Tinga which I found very tasty, light, and healthy, which is a rare find in a "mexican" restaurant. I think its about $5.50, and with fresh ingredients its a great buy. I also did try the avocado margarita, not something I'm craving a 2nd of right away, but I apperciate the creative idea and it actually wasn't bad at all! I'm excited to go back and try more things on their menu, and more drinks. Hopefully their cool vibe, decor, and friendly service will keep them in business for a Long Time! I suppose I can see the similarities to Pesos, but I disagree that it won't last and is "too similar". It's on the quieter side of Queen Anne, a good 10 min walk away, there is no bumping Top 40 music.

This place has amazing food and drinks. Their happy hour is great, as is their brunch. The pork tostidatas and steak quesadilla are not to be missed. Also, it is a good place to catch a game - you can call ahead and reserve the large table.

Wow - a hidden gem of Tex Mex in the Seattle Center/foot of Queen Anne area. I had my first lunch there with a co-worker and I was genuinely impressed with the freshness of the food and the service by the staff. The chips with two kinds of salsa were delicious - are they made on site? The Carne Asada with tender grilled steak, savory beans (no refried or cheese in sight) and rice was to die for. The waitresses happily answered our questions and refilled our Diet Cokes continuously. I am a fan now and will gladly be returning for hopefully many lunches. I would only ask that they tone down the volumne on the music a tad. It overwhelmed our attempts at conversation at times.
