Diabetics at Jamba Juice:

Eating good food at the right time can control your blood sugar, also stop you from craving wrong sort of food. Jamba Juice offers drinks in three separate sizes: 16, 24, and 32-ounce. You can choose the lowest serving size and cut down on sugars and calorie intake. If you're diabetic and concerned about the sugar intake, then you can opt for the smaller 9.5-ounce smoothies available for kids at Jamba Juice.

Foods to Avoid at Jamba Juice for Diabetics:

Jamba Juice is primarily known for its highly satisfying and nutritive smoothies and juices. Almost every smoothie and juice item on the Jamba Juice menu contains sugar. Diabetics are recommended to opt for smaller serving size while ordering at Jamba Juice. Also, avoid opting for creamy treats as all the smoothies offered in this category contain a load of sugars.

Keep the sugar content below 50g per meal at Jamba Juice and ensure that you don't follow it with a heavy meal. A small size regular smoothie is equivalent to a meal for everyone. Classic smoothies at Jamba Juice are also heavily loaded with sugars. Stay away from that section if you are a diabetic.

I've been going to Jamjuree for the last two years and this place has consistently good Thai food. A few places in the city may do some specific dishes better, but there are no "landmines" on the Jamjuree menu -- everything is good or great. The rotating specials are a good bet if you're not sure what to pick -- I've never been disappointed. The lighting is pleasant and the decor unoffensive. The wait staff is very quick and helpful. I enjoy eating at the restaurant but also get take-out pretty often. The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because they just don't make any of their food spicy enough for me. I like my Thai food SUPER hot though, so it may not be a problem for some. That said, it doesn't prevent me from coming here because the food really is excellent.

Best Thai food on Capitol Hill, get the crispy spring rolls

  • Crystal L.

Jamjuree is a reliable old friend. Their food is consistently good, quick, and inexpensive. They always have in season specials, which are fun to try as well as the typical Thai repertoire. You won't find frilly beverages, or an extensive wine list, but the food always comes out so quickly, who has time to drink a bottle of wine? This is certainly my favorite out of the multitude of Thai restaurants in Capitol Hill.

The red curry with chicken is delicious! I always order it with extra bamboo shoots. The green beans really make the dish stand out. Service is decent, I recommend on doing take out. They're very fast and the portions are just as generous.

one of the more authentic Thai places in Seattle, and a beautiful space to boot. I'm not a pad thai eater- why order a dish that's so ubiquitous when you can judge a restaurant by what they offer as the night's specials and the dishes the servers recommend? All the specials and soups I've had here have been just lovely, service has been attentive but unobtrusive, and I adore the lighting and decor- it's opulent and cozy at the same time.

My favorite Thai restaurant (perhaps my favorite restaurant in general) in Seattle. I've had several dishes here - curries, basil, ginger, seafood/chicken/tofu. All have been great. Even their brown rice is special. Always good service, a pleasant atmosphere, and generous portions at a good price.

Best Phad Thai in Seattle, hands down! Easy to order take-out, and fast service in the restaurant.

Tom yum is good. Curries are good. Service is pretty good. Coconut ice cream is really good. I have two major problems with Jamjuree: it gets super busy and they get overwhelmed and can't seem to figure out how to get people seated quickly and they don't make their food spicy enough, even if you ask for 10+ stars. The only exception is soup, since soups generally transmit spice better. Their waiting area is itty bitty and they have these weird lights that get in the way, so if you're squished onto the bench between a few other people, you have a lamp in your back or your face. Some of the tables also have the same lamps coming out of the half-wall which make it hard to see the person you're sitting across from and makes you feel like you're half asleep, but if you get a booth, you should be fine. I mostly like Jamjuree, but I prefer takeout to eating there, especially if it looks busy.

I am a big fan of Thai food, and Jamjuree was among the first Yelp-recommended restaurants I tried after discovering the awesomeness that is Yelp. (Which, curiously was about the same time my productivity at work started to wane. Hmm, could there be any correlation? Nah, surely just coincidence, right?) So, I have to agree with all of the previous reviews; this is THE place for Thai food! Everything I've tried here has been excellent. Everything! Their coconut curry soup with rice noodles (Kha Soy?), Tom Kha soup, satay, and particularly the Pad See Ew. It seems to get pretty busy on weekend nights, but the wait isn't very long (and they have a bar to keep you occupied while waiting). The waitresses are always friendly, but the food is a little slow to come out (even when it isn't busy). Oh, and parking is nearly impossible on weekends - thankfully, I live within walking distance.

This is the one of the best restaurant deals in Seattle. The food is outstanding for the price ($9 / entree). I especially recommend the thick, delicious curries. The portions are large, so you should either share dishes or expected leftovers. The ambiance varies dramatically by your location in the restaurant. Try for the window table to the right as you walk or one of the booths in the back. The room to the left gets very hot in the summer time and feels more cramped. The atmosphere and food both exceed Rom Mai Thai. I wouldn't go to any other Thai restaurant in capitol hill.

These guys have given me and my family the best food and service in the city for so many years. The prices and atmosphere are also just right. They are the hidden jewel in the city for Thai food lovers. Thanks!

Best Thai in Seattle. You know this because although there are Thai places on nearly every corner, Jamjuree is slammed on weekend nights. They make Pad Thai like no other place. I take out of town guests there every time and have tried almost everything on the menu- I have yet to have a bad experience.

I went Jamjuree for lunch, and surprisingly the interior was really nice. The high ceiling, skylight, and the spacey setting of the furniture.... It's all very comfortable and clean! It was very pleasant space to be in. (it's not trendy or hip..just well thought space.) The food was good. The lunch comes with a cup of soup and a side salad. The salad is iceberg but really fresh. They both kind of tasted sweet but I can also say that they were delicately flavored. I regret that I didn't go for "spicy" when I was asked to choose the level of spiciness. Medium wasn't spicy at all... My Phad Thai still tasted good though.

  • Carrie H.

Holy smokies, is this good! Talk about some good Thai, Jamjuree is the clear winner. I have tried a couple of things here, but my "go-to" meal is the chicken and spinach with peanut sauce, with brown rice. I don't think I can stress to you how perfect the peanut sauce is here. I am a connoisseur of peanut sauces, and this is the best! I've also had the curry here, also dee-lish in it's own right. The servers here are nice and friendly.

I like this spot a great deal. its busy, well run and represents great value. the combo plates are all around $7 and the food is fresh, full of flavour and nice healthy portions. its a little hidden and unassuming but well worth a visit if you like good reasonably priced good thai.

I am actually not really a huge Thai food fan but I have been pleasantly impressed with Jamjuree. The service is efficient and honest especially when it comes to rating your heat scale for your curry from one to five. They also have a surprising amount of beer selections which impressed me. The prices are reasonable and the portions are huge -- definitely two meals can be made out of one curry. Also, it's on 15th which can't be beat as far as making a night out of Thai and a pub crawl. Highly recommended for even the biggest Thai naysayers. I have never waited for a table here either which is pretty awesome.

  • Samantha J.

Jamjuree is excellent-- best Thai on Capitol Hill. Consistent. Fast. The quality is just as good if you dine in house as if you take it out. The atmosphere is classy and nice. The curry is so good it makes me weep. Wonderful peanut sauce and satay. They have great inventive nightly specials, too. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because it's on 15th and not closer to my house!!! (And because you have to pay for your rice-- it's not just included with the curry...)

When comparing Thai food restaurants in Seattle I think of magicians trying to out do each other. The outcome is always the same but each one will try and wow the audience with their preparation and delivery. Most Thai restaurants are uninspired and share the same tricks. After a while Thai can seem pretty boring. Jamjuree is the Houdini of Thai as it stands out from the undistinguished and dazzles every time. People know the food is going to be good and reliably so but somehow amazement can still be felt with each visit. Those who eat at Jamjuree know what they like and return time and time again to get it. It is the relief that comes from the first bite and knowing that it will come soon when eating at a great place. Try everything though, not just reliable favorites. Jamjuree will do it up right not what they think people want. The food is consistently satisfying, the service is adorable and attentive, plus the prices won't kill the food buzz. Even the culture junkies who crash the place since there is a good mix of regular, down to earth folk who will occupy the seat next to you. I haven't quite figured out the mezuzah fixed conspicuously in the kitchen doorway but I like it. Perhaps the cooks absolutely refuse to work without it.

I LOVE JAMJUREE! I eat here minimum of twice a week. I might eat here everyday if my husband couldn't find out . For me: Fresh Rolls; Vegetarian Tom Yum with tofu (OMG!!!); Basil chicken with brown rice. Always ask for the spice jars since 5 stars is never hot enough for me. For Him: Panang Chicken curry; Garlic chicken w/ brown rice 5 stars. This equals a night of complete and utter flavor bliss, plus some leftovers for the next day's lunch. I don't dare eat the mint they give you with the bill-- I think I want to savor the delicious flavors in my mouth forever.

My second favorite Thai in Seattle. This place has a little different approach to your regular thai food. The pad thai is almost like an omelette and I like it! The portions are a little on the smaller side, but the food is consistently good, and service in friendly. I order takeout here, when I am looking for a different thai feel. Worth trying out.

I love love love jamjuree! Especially the Rama Noodle with fried tofu- the best thai dish ever! ....did see a rat there once, but been able to look past that because the food is so yummy!

  • Gian B.

So far, Jamjuree is my favorite Thai restaurant on the hill. The staff is friendly and the food is great. I have always had a good experience here. The only thing is that, depending on what you order, the portions vary quite a bit. I have ordered phad thai and got WAY too much, but some of the other dishes you get very little. The portion size seems to correlate to the tastiness (yummier it is, the less you get. :).

Love the phai thai and pring king beans! Service could be better but the food is fantatsic!

This is where I fell in love with panang curry. This is the only place to get Thai food on the hill!

  • Thomas M.

If you're an experienced Thai eater, and a lover of spicy foods, you will be terribly disappointed going here. But...if you want to try thai food out, avoid going to Broadway, or downtown Seattle because in the convenience of Capitol Hill you will find a decent and nice looking restaurant. Pass on the Phad Thai (average at best), and go for the Pad See Ewe. The curry dishes are slightly above average, the Panang and the Yellow curry are the gems of the curry selections. The service, overall, was very good. The wait staff was very kind and, unlike other asian restaurants, this wait staff stayed on top of their business by keeping our glasses filled and they did check in on us more than 3 times. But despite the good service, and border-line decent thai food, I can't help but notice the lack of punch and spiciness from their dishes. I had to double check with our waitress to make sure we got our 3 star and 4 star dishes. Suffice it to say, it certainly did not feel like it (or taste like it). My roommate and I had to ask for the extra spices and we consumed much of the oil, and peppers they provided to us. If you're an experienced Thai eater and a lover of spicy food you might want to go to another locale before here...however, if you're looking for a change of scenery, and are also looking to avoid busy downtown seattle and Broadway, Jamjuree would be your "hottest' choice. Skip the white rice! Eat the brown!!! Remember...tipping well is a good habit..no matter what the food tastes like.

Consistently good Thai food. Nothing on the menu will change your life but everything you have will be exactly as you wanted it to be. Tasty! The Tom Ka is made like it should be with chunks of galangala and lemon grass floating around. The curries are always solid but generally served on the spicy side...duh, it's curry...go a star lower than you usually would. Maybe that's why there is a bowl of peanuts at every table? Check out the "seasonal specials" in your menu. Every three months or so the chef comes up with something new and delicious, but they are only there for a brief time. If you ever see something called Herbal Tofu, don't be afraid, just order it, it is some of the most amazing tofu ever. They serve the beer here in steins, or at least larger mugs, I'm fairly sure this isn't traditional, but it's novel to swing around a mug of beer while you are eating. The decor and servers are lovely as well. Definitely one of my top 3 Thai places in the city.

  • Mindy E.

Their mus sa mun curry is sooo delicous (I order the tofu version). It's a bit pricey at $10 but lasts me three meals! The only complaint I have otherwise is that it smells moldy in the restaurant (I think it's from the rags they wash the table with). The people are also kind of rude but the curry brings me back.

I have never written a review? I'm so sorry Jamjuree. I Love you. I love you so much I made you my first stop upon my return from the meat plagued trip to Los Angeles....Garlic Pepper Tofu, a friend indeed.

Tum Yum soup was definitely one of the best I've had. It was so flavorful and spicy hot. I'm normally a spicy whimp but it tasted so good that I couldn't stop eating it. The Snap Pea Lover dish was incredible and so was the noodle dish (I forgot the name of it). I will definitely go back again to try their other dishes :)

I went here on a Sunday afternoon and was surprised to see that it was pleasantly busy... I knew this was a good sign. I ordered the standard fair of Pad Thai with #2 spiciness. It came out very fast and very fresh. The sauce was perfect, the spiciness was just to my liking, and the flavors blended beautifully. As what others have said, this place wins top ratings for the decor which is pleasantly simple and your non traditional non upscale fare. Also to note they had specials (specials in a Thai restaurant...what??). Yes, they had a sauteed pumpkin dish served over rice, and a spicy shrimp app that I had to force myself not to get because I was trying to eat on the cheap. I will be back here and with friends.

Ok for dinner - but strange tourist rip off vibe at lunch. Example: waitress gives everyone soup and salad then takes your order. If you don't order as many dishes as people (e.g. Family style), she takes away some of the soup and salad and then gives them to somebody else Um, health code issue for sure. Not to mention rude.

Their Thai-style shrimp fried rice tastes just as good for breakfast the next day as it does for dinner the night before. Now, that's quality I can get behind.

Not a fan of Jamjuree. My boyfriend and I ordered takeout from there once and were unimpressed with the food--veggies were soggy/not fresh and there was barely any meat in the meals. My quest for good Thai food in Cap Hill continues...

  • Jared L.

Came here once with some friends and got curry. It was decent and the service was good. Last night I figured I would get something quick so I got their pad thai with chicken to go. It was the worst pad thai I have ever had; I threw most of it away! The noodles were soggy and tasted weird and the egg (which is supposed to be stir fried and mixed in with the dish) was thrown on the top of the noodles. The chicken was unappetizing. If I had to come back here I'd get curry, but I definitely won't be back!

Trying to find an establishment that can accomodate a group of 9 rowdy food-grubbing people with good food and very reasonable prices is a difficult task, especially when you are new to the area. But low and behold, I found it in Jamjuree Thai Restaurant. At first I was apprehensive about choosing a Thai restaurant for my birthday because of the awful places that I have tried here; but I figured that since everyone has had both good and bad Thai food, eating here would not make a difference. Our group had the corner booth enough for 9 people if not a little more. The thai decor is simple and not overly done like the place near my house which I already reviewed. The wait staff was very friendly and checked on us often. The Thai iced-tea and thai-iced coffee were not premade as I have had in some places in Seattle. It was the real deal with the cream floating on top and you have to mix it yourself. The free appetizer of peanuts with scallions or green onions was unexpected and isn't seen too often in Thai restaurants. To sum up the order: Appetizers: Fresh spring rolls and fried spring rolls - Very good and the veggies were very fresh. The sauce was not too salty or overwhelming that you cannot taste the cilantro and goodies inside the rolls. Entrees: Panang Chicken - Lots of fresh vegetables, great curry with enough heat that at mild that you don't feel the dish is bland. Chicken is sooo tender that you can just swallow w/o chewing. Sizzling Seafood Platter - Not too fishy and the broth was not salty or sour. Again the seafood was very tender. This entree is HUMONGOUS and only for $11.25 (I think). Spinach with Peanut sauce and Tofu - My FAVORITE dish of the night. Why? Because I have never been served this dish with fresh spinach. The spinach cooks itself underneath the warm tofu and warm peanut sauce. If you haven't noticed, fresh vegetables are a plus and this restaurant definitely serves fresh veges!! Masamun Curry Beef - The beef was tender and the curry was not overpowering or too spicy. The carrots aren't mushy in the curry. Basil Pork - Tendor juicy pork served with fresh produce. Chicken Pad Thai Noodles - The first Thai restaurant in Seattle that serves it and presents it the way it is supposed to be. Peanuts, sprouts, and sprigs of basil on the side, noodles in the middle and most importantly, the LIME WEDGE on the side. This dish was just right. Beef Pad See Iw Noodles - My usual at 2.5-star, open late, good after a night of drinking dish at Thai restaurants. This of course is much better. It isn't salty and the beef is tender and not burned. Oyster Beef - I don't think I tried this dish but I know that it was ordered. How could my friends have denied me such a dish??? Fried Rice - I know that I didn't try this dish b/c I don't eat fried rice, but someone ordered it in the group. Dessert: None ordered, but as the birthday celebrant they gave a complimentary one of Coconut ice cream with fruits (lychee, peaches, etc) and coconut jellies topped with 2 birthday candles. YAY!!! I loved it and they even brought small dishes and spoons so everyone can share. Overall, this restaurant gets 4.5 stars out of 5. Sorry, but Jamjuree isn't a Khantoke and the bathroom was clean, but could use some work. But everything is FRESH and not salty. Customer service was excellent. Plus each person not including myself only spent $20.00. Now how is that not reasonable. What a great birthday!!!

Took a girl here on a first date back in the summer and had a wonderful time. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was inviting. Plus, after dinner there is a bar next door for a quick move to a "second" date. I am totally looking forward to making it back to this restaurant.

Jamjuree has been one of my favorite Thai places for several years. Of late, though, I've noticed a decline in the quality of their food which makes me sad. It is still pretty good but the quality is more erratic which makes me less inclined to go there. For, me, it seems like I find a few dishes at a Thai restaurant that I like LOTS and the rest is only so-so. Such is the case with Jamjuree (perhaps though it is that once I find these stellar dishes I won't order anything else? hmmmm...) Anyway, this is what I like at Jamjuree: fish cakes: really awesome and the sauce is good too. I've only had them better at Oraphim on Queen Anne. chicken panang: oh my god! sooooo good. Better than anywhere else I've had it. It is perfect. spicy noodles with beef. (not chicken, not tofu, not prawns) This is a greasy dish but when they do it right it is fantastic. The sauce/flavors are amazing. Of course when it is not done right... well, it is greasy. brown rice: oh. I normally dislike brown rice, however their brown rice is awesome. The best brown rice in town as far as I am concerned. It is nutty and not mushy. Cooked perfectly. It is not your "usual" brown rice as it is a deep brown/red color. green bean: I don't remember the name of this dish but it has garlic and a wonderful sauce. I think I like it best with tofu. I don't much like the soups here. I love Thai soups but, for me, this place doesn't do it right. The decor is quite lovely and is very pleasing to my eye. It does get massively loud though so that can be a bit unnerving. The servers are always really nice though they do get busy. I know if I went in today they would still remember me and give me a special smile even though I've not been there in many months. So, I am giving it 4 stars but I must say that the last 3 meals I had there weren't 4 star worthy. However, I remain positive that they were just having a few bad months. Perhaps you will give them a try and let me know, eh?

This a great, solid neighborhood thai place. Best on the hill in my opinion, I like some others fine, but the dishes here are unique and have more complexity than most places. Always good and fresh, clean and great prices for the atmosphere. Been going for years and will continue to enjoy Jamjuree. For others who have posted on here, this is REAL thai food and no your pad thai is not supposed to be an obnoxious red and sweet like candy like the phony Vietnamese "Thai" restraunts make it. Ketsup and corn syrup? If you dig authenticity, you'll like it. Nuff said.

I really enjoyed their peanut sauce and panang. Their panag was very creamy and you can adjust the spice to the perfect level for you. I ordered a 3 on the spice level and that wasn't spicy at all, I could have gone to a 4. Recommend this place!

I'd like to write this review as a haiku: Jamjuree is good, Chicken in tamarind, wow! Just go, and you'll see.

Jamjuree is a fun word to say, which is good, because it would suck if it had a fun name but bad food. In fact, the food is quite tasty. I've had the pad thai, but my favorites are the curries. They are creamy and spicy, not too thick and not too runny, and very hearty. I remember in the fall they had pad pumpkin; now I don't usually go for novelty food, but I tried it, and holy crap, it was delicious. So, with that experience under my belt, I feel safe ordering anything from their menu, knowing that I'm in good hands indeed. The atmosphere is very relaxed and low key. It's a neighborhood restaurant that feels like one, and a great place to chill with friends.

Best Thai food in Seattle that I've tried so far.... Red Curry is amazing, and so is the Basil Chicken. We usually do family style and get various dishes and have plenty to share with some to spare!

This place ranks high on my favorite Thai places, and #1 in the Capitol Hill area. Great, basic Phad Thai, just the way I like it. Some places diluted the essential noodles & tofu (or meat) with lots of shredded cabbage and too many sprouts, so when you're done with a good noodle portion, you're left with a soggy, oily salad. But Jamjuree has good, solid portions where you've actually got enough for another whole meal - unless you can't control yourself and gorge yourself in one sitting, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Took my mom here for lunch on Mother's Day. My mom loves Thai food and this was her choice of food, but I chose the restaurant after Yelping. We ordered different things but we both ordered two-stars. Our meals were delicious, and the portion was absolutely perfect for a lunchtime meal. I will definitely return.

My friend is a regular here and I finally made it over to go there with him. I wasn't disappointed! We went for lunch and the food was really good. Had the combo with Tofu Pad Thai and Green Curry Chicken for 8.25. The curry was solid, although a bit spicier than I like. But I don't like spicy food and probably had no business ordering curry, but when it's mild, I do really like it. Even still, this curry was good! and the pad thai was also quite good, unique in that they make it with egg so it's surrounded in a thin omelette type shell. Never seen that before, but it was good! Service was good and I shall be returning!

This is near where I work and so I go pretty often. It is consistently yummy. I tend to order the same few things over and over and have never been let down. I go for the phad see ew with beef, cashew chicken, or a curry.

Favorite Thai place in all of Seattle, just wish it was closer to where I live. Found it when I was a student and have enjoyed their food ever since. I love Thai that's done right (not too much fish sauce or coconut flavor) and they just do it to perfection here. The service is fast and courteous.

I've tried around 10 Thai restaurants so far and the is the best in Seattle so far! The staff is friendly, the Atmosphere is relaxing and has a great warm feel. The FOOD! Delicious and consistent. the presentation is great too! Definitely worth a visit. :)

Our favorite Thai place on Capitol Hill, highly recommend the Yellow Curry and Spicy Noodles. About our only complaint is that when you order by phone its like heat-roulette where about 25% of the time it'll be face-melting spicy regardless of what you ask for :)

This place is generally above average although I did have one bad experience there but it was service related and not bad food. They have a noodle peanut sauce that is super good.

Great Service. I usually do take out from here. 2 Highlights for me are the chicken with yellow curry and ginger ice cream. Good place to get some hot food in a clean place. Its not the place to drink or hang out. thumbs up.

good to excellent food (try the special chicken and fresh rolls when they're in season). And great value, especially for the Hill. Pad Thai is also good, as are the curries and soups. We go here a lot and friends like it too.

My favorite Thai restaurant! Really delicious and pretty fast. Food Recommendations: the lunch combo is a fantastic bargain. I also love the Red Curry, Bathing Rama, Phad Thai and Panang. The Mango Sticky Rice is also to die for! I've been going there for years - always a favorite! Really friendly staff too!

After reading some of these reviews, I was very excited to try to Pad Thai. I have to say, I was disappointed. Maybe my hopes were too high--but the dish was too vinegar-y, not very peanut-y and not spicy (despite requesting 4 stars). However, the basil fried rice (with crispy basil) was delicious. That dish is enough reason for me to want to go back (especially since I haven't seen anything like it on a menu before). The green curry was also pretty good. I can't say that it's the best Thai place that I've been to. They all seem fairly similar. None of them are like the food you get in Thailand. But, I've learned that you can't expect that. Even if there are Thai people in the kitchen and all the right Thai ingredients--it never tastes quite like what it tastes like in Thailand. Maybe it's just part of the experience of traveling. But, at least it gives me an excuse to eat with a fork and a spoon.

on a mission to find another thai restaurant that my wife would like here in seattle, we decided to try this place out. now, finding parking around here was horrible, but we lucked out and found some street about a block behind the restaurant. coming into this place, we didn't really get a sense that we were in a thai restaurant. it seemed more like a sheik, but pioneer-esque saloon. it was pretty nice actually, dark mahogany and a huge antique looking bar catches your eye. we decided to order chicken phad thai, beef phad se ew, tom yum soup, and crispy garlic chicken. the tom yum soup was really good, a little on the heat side, but you can really taste all of the flavors of the soup, spicy, tangy, sweet and a little salty. a party in your mouth, hah hah. when our food came out, we'd never seen phad thai served like that before, it looked like a phad thai omelette, noodles wrapped in egg. after mixing the egg in with the noodles, my wife tried it first. to her, it was okay, but she felt it was too sweet. i felt it tasted pretty good, not overpowered with fish sauce. the next was the phad se ew. again, my wife didn't like it too much for it was a little charred, but i actually liked that hint of charred taste to my phad se ew. finally, the crispy chicken. served with rice and on top of steamed vegetables and garnished with fried basil leaves, it looked great. other than chantanee in bellevue, this was the only other thai place i've been to around here to serve this dish. my wife liked this dish. to me, i had to compare it with the one from chantanee. the sauce it was tossed in was better than chantanee, perfect blend of sweet and tangy and not as salty as chantanee. however, chantanee's chicken was more crispy. so to me, it's a toss up. jamjuree's chicken is a little doughy. if jamjuree had the crispy batter like chantanee, it'd be perfect, likewise, if chantanee had the sauce of jamjuree, it'd be perfect. all in all, it was a good meal at a decent price. the service was excellent here and if i'm in the neighborhood again, i may stop by here again.

I ordered something called Pad Pumpkin. My initial reaction when I saw it on the menu was "Pumpkin? You gotta be kidding." But I decided to take a risk. Oh man, this was delicious! The little bits of pumpkin were cut up in small chunks and it was wonderful! I also learned my lesson about "spice scale" in a Thai restaurant as opposed to Chinese restaurant. In a Chinese restaurant, I can eat 4 stars spicy and say, "meh....." If you are like this, I recommend asking for THREE stars. The FOUR stars had me begging for more water. This area has NO parking whatsoever. They seem to cater to anyone who either lives nearby or works nearby or both, basically meaning, people who can walk to this place easily. I'm saying "No" on "good for kids" as children's palates aren't ready for Thai food. If you are in an RV, don't even THINK of trying to drive your RV anywhere on Capital Hill, which is the area where this was located. No room for any large vehicle. I walked here from a friends house, with a couple friends.

Hands down the best in Seattle. I'm lucky to live by this place so I visit it frequently. The Pad See Ew is the best I've had. Stop in, but know it can get very busy on weekend nights. Take out is a great option.

Frozen peas and carrot bits are unacceptable in an entree that is priced at $9.25 and the only other main component is thick rice noodles. If you're going to cook with low quality ingredients, that should be reflected in the price so patrons can budget appropriately.

They failed to get the delivery correct missing one item, also two items traditionally come with rice and they failed. I mean what order of curry does not include rice... The food was tasty but the customer service and rude attitude was horrendous resulting in the low score.

If I'm in Capitol Hill and wanting Thai food, this is the place to go! It's your regular central Thai food but everything is tasty and prices are fair. Also good ambiance as well!

They have kow soy (native to northern Thailand), and it's pretty good! Not a fancy place, but great service and reliably good food. Can't go wrong with the staples of pad thai and pad si ew, or their tom yum and tom kha.

  • Kelly T.

A friend of mine recommended this place so I decided to give it a try. I ordered a pad see ew, substituted the wide noodles with pad Thai noodles and a thai iced tea. The noodles were very salty and the iced tea was not very sweet. Aside from the food, the service was not all that great. The servers did not seem welcoming at all. This place is okay but wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Service: Good. Always greeted upon entry and seated promptly. The lunch specials here are great! For $9 you get soup, salad, phad thai and an entree(panang curry, swimming rama, basil or garlic meat of choice.) with rice! Also, only on their lunch menu they serve crispy chili chicken which is battered and fried with sweet chili flavoring. BOMB! (I dunno why they don't have it on the dinner menu??) I've visited this location over 5 times and the food is always consistent. The curries taste great but are a little on the watery side. Phad Thai is also done really well. *try their "brown rice" which is more like a slightly sweet red rice -- very tasty!

Love the Pad Thai. They put a whole fried egg on top, which is different than I've seen It's the best I've had in the Seattle area...best further out would be the Jasmin in Stanwood, but that's a bit of a drive. We moved further away from here, but still come back every few months and for sure on our anniversary each year. The sauce here has a savory sweetness to it that is different than I've ever had. Very good, and worth a try. Fun location too, easy walk to other bars for after dinner drinks.

Best value for Thai food I've had in Seattle outside the ID. Often I've found Thai places do one dish well but then make another one very poorly or it tastes extremely Americanized. Jamjuree makes a variety of dishes which are quality - green curry, panang curry, tom kha gai, pad ki mao, papaya salad. Also as an aside, please don't let a place's pad thai be your barometer if quality. This makes me sad. Maybe better Thai is out there, or a more chic dining experience, but for the price, I have yet to find it! And for what it's worth, my Thai friends suggest Jamjuree whenever we want to gather for a simple bite to eat in cap hill and want Thai.

My husband and I have been looking for a great Thai restaurant since moving here 2 years ago and although we've found some pretty good ones this is finally our favorite! The Tom Kha soup is heavenly (which is surprisingly very hard to find in Seattle, most places are too sour.) You also get yummy soup and salad with every meal. For tea and 2 entrees we left under $25, definitely our new favorite Thai restaurant!

  • MaiLinh N.

This place is awesome. Nice atmosphere first of all and fast service in terms of taking your order, refilling your water, etc. The fried spring rolls are simply the best- crispy outside, not greasy or oily tasting and the dipping sauce is delicious. Comes with a tiny salad on the plate but we got that as another appetizer (for only $4 and it's huge!). The dressing they use is delicious and the cabbage is so crisp and fresh. I got the red curry with tofu for my protein choice which is simply delicious (zucchini, green beans, bamboo shoots and red bell pepper). The prices are very affordable and I even get left overs! This is now our go-to Thai restaurant.

  • Lana R.

Always kind, prompt service and yummy food, whether you're eating in-house or getting takeaway. The Kow Soy noodle soup is my favorite- it's a very thick broth, almost like just getting extra curry sauce. It's definitely two meals for me! Their fried rice kicks butt too!

  • Kathy A.

Take out review. Delicious and rich flavors in all of the dishes. The curries can be adjusted to your desired spice level. I highly recommend the red curry but frankly I'm sure they are all great. Portion sizes are good for the money. I will definitely be back again.

There are a number of Thai places on 15th, and this one definitely deserves a spot near the top overall. The three star review is based on my personal preference of dishes vs how they are prepared here. The pad ki mao was flavorful and not too overwhelming but the pad thai was so sweet it could have qualified as dessert. Service was fine and they make a mean Thai iced tea, but if I'm craving pad thai I'll just go a little further down the block.

Oh my god, the Chicken Pad Thai was ~disgusting~. It was like eating noodles drenched with super sweet syrup with super dry, overcooked chicken. The DRY chicken had he bonus of coming with gristle. My mouth is super sticky and gross-feeling as I type this. (I ate it anyway.). It's literally ~the worst~ Pad Thai I've had in my life. I'd type more, but I think I'm going into diabetic shock.

I've worked on Capitol Hill for a while now, and this is definitely my fav Thai restaurant on the hill for lunch or an early dinner. The dishes are a bit Americanized, sweet and not overly spicy, but yummy and worth the pain of finding parking on 15th Ave.

Customer service was awful. We walked a mile to get to this spot. And yes we came 40 mins B4 close. But we were greeted with a disclaimer from the host that we needed to be done by 10pm (close time). So we decided to order to go. We should have canceled our order when they came and notified us they had no more pad see ew noodles. But I was intent on trying this place given all the wonderful reviews. Icing on the cake was the jasmine tea, which I ordered while waiting for our food, it came out and literally tasted like boiled water. When I looked in the pot there was literally half a teaspoon of jasmine herbs, I am not joking. When I showed the waitress she told me that's how it was suppose to come, so I poured it on a clean plate to show her how clear the liquid was, she immediately removed it from bill and had an attitude. This place had terrible customer service and this is why I rate it for a 1. IT WAS A VERY rude way to treat paying patrons. On another note the coconut soup was excellent.

Great outdoor seating for summer nights! That was my favorite part! The food was pretty good, I got the crispy chilli tofu and pad thai. The 2 spiciness didn't even register. Very fast courteous service, I dig it. I will be coming back here, hopefully with a date. Hahaha great place to eat before heading nextdoor for drinks!

I tried two of the specials today: the pad pumpkin and the avocado green curry. The pad pumpkin was like a Pad Thai but instead of noodles, there was pumpkin. I probably would have preferred the pumpkin as well as the noodles, but it was still a good dish. I had it with seafood, which includes scallops, squid, and shrimp. The avocado green curry was better, in my opinion, but that may be due to my preference for green curry over most other things. It basically was similar to their green curry, but there was avocado in it. I got it with 4 stars of spiciness, which is supposedly their spiciest, and while it was spicy, it was not as spicy as I was hoping for. Maybe my taste buds are dying. Good service, good value, as always. Great place for Thai food in Capitol Hill.

  • Geoffrey C.

Great Thai food--by my estimation (and word-of-mouth), possibly the best in Seattle. Definitely try the seasonal specials on the first (paper) page of the menu--during fall the Pumpkin Pad Thai is delicious (not peanut based), as well as the papaya salad. For those who like it hot, ordering your dishes with the maximum 4 stars will not give you gastritis--so ask for extra sauce on the side (a tasty 4-sampler). Minus 1/2-star for screaming children who are often dragged here by their parents (I would too--the food is that good). Also, if at all possible, weekdays are preferable, as it can get busy quickly.

Today was our anniversary, so we decided to go to Jamjuree for a nice lunch. No such luck. We didn't even get seated. The waitperson/hostess or hostperson was behind the bar handing a large wad of cash to a person you see in those strange Asian mafia movies. Sorry for the stereoptype! She scowled at us 4 times and then walked off. We followed the rules and were waiting to be seated. We were the only people in the restaurant other than the man at the bar counting his wad, so she wasn't that busy; unless she had to tend to the pad see ew. We see ew why don't ew seat us? We walked out and went to Annapurna-had a marvelous marvelous lunch! Jamjuree won't be seeing us ever again.

This is my go-to Thai place on Capitol Hill. Better than any other place in the neighborhood. I highly recommend the pad kee mao, and any of the curries. The food is very reasonably priced, and they have local beers on draught that are less than $4! Whenever I order a dish with prawns, the prawns can be little overcooked. Everything else is great.

My buddy and I went here on a Friday night visiting cap hill before meeting up with a fellow Yelper from LA for drinks. Both of us have been to Thailand so it was a nice opportunity to reminisce of our adventures there. I very rarely go to Thai restaurants here in the States so it was fun seeing the Buddhist statues and Thai-influenced art. I got the "Jamjuree Fried Rice", it was excellent. Well crafted and truly loaded with a variety of flavours. Literally one bite would be with some chicken, followed by one with a plump shrimp, then one with a juicy pineapple, followed by one with some flavorful cashews! Service was also good, although we did choose to sit at the bar so consider that. And at a price lower than I expected ($10), will return and highly recommend.

Thai food is a weakness for me. A good pad thai dish will reel me in again and again. Jamjuree, unfortunately, did not have that. In fact, it had the worst pad thai that I have ever had. the noodles were spaghetti-like (slightly flatter), and it tasted like there were grilled onion chunks thrown in, along with massive amounts of garlic. And you're reading this from a garlic/onion lover! They did do something creative, though, by topping the pad thai with a fried egg. Tom Kha soup is great, but can't go wrong there. What grinds my gears though, above all of this, is the service. Table of four, with two of us having to wait 5 minutes more than the other half of our party to be served. And you know, 5 minutes when you're hungry feels like a damn lifetime. I'll try the next Thai spot in Capitol Hill.

  • Cameron O.

Jamjuree is one of my favorite spots to get thai in Seattle. I live about 4 blocks away and if I call in and order take out right before I leave, it's always ready by the time I get there. When I do dine in, the service is great. I've never had to wait and have always been served promptly. The price is also awesome for the amount of food you get (entree, small salad, small bowl of veggie soup). Everything I've had here has great flavor and the perfect amount of spice. I usually order the pad thai, but have had just about everything else on the menu and they are all excellent.

    (4)
  • James H.

Such good food! The Pad Si Ew is bomb! Definitely order 5 stars if you're a fan of spicy food. Otherwise your food will be throughly under spiced. If it was hot enough is I'd give it a full 5 stars. Also the Fresh rolls are delicious.

  • Terri E.

Love this place! Their masaman curry is very good and the pad thai is a favorite. The roti appetizer is amazing and their Thai iced tea is very nice--not overly sweet and a nicely complex flavor. The service is great, not hovering but always being there are the right times. ETA: Terrible, terrible takeout, which bums me out to no end. Our order's wrong, people are missing rice, and it just doesn't hold up to takeout somehow. Go to the restaurant.

I went on a Friday night, this place was busy but not too crowded. I looked up some photos on Google and assumed it would be cramped but it wasn't at all. I was a bit worried before I showed up and tried to make reservation but they do not unless it's a party of six or more. When I arrived I could see why. The place is spacious and decorated nicely with a bar in the center. The service was good. I ordered tofu red curry with Thai tea. The tea was great but the red curry was very watery.. I like mine a bit thicker but everything still tasted fine. It wasn't fantastic.. pretty average.

Very good food, the Chicken Pad Thai was some of the best I've had, though how "sweet" it was was a little too much toward the end of the meal. No complaints of the prices and the selections were sizeable. The restaurant was a little busy, experiencing a little pop, so service was a bit slow and interactions with our waitress were short, but we got our food in a timely manner, no harm done. Atmosphere is definitely suited for a dinner or late lunch. Hope you enjoy!

Grabbed the last table on a busy Saturday night. The crowd may have explained the mediocre service, but the food came quickly nonetheless. A few things that I appreciated about this thai place right off the bat. -They didn't feel it necessary to litter their menu with with pictures of every dish they serve. An annoying distraction as most diners today can read and thoughtful contemplate dishes by their descriptions. - They run specials, all of which I saw on the night in question sounded worth trying. Negative points for the wait staff not evening mentioning them. - They offer brown rice, a true staple for anyone looking for clean carbs. Along with white rice, it's priced at 1.50 per person, of which, you don't get much. Ordered Massaman curry: Of which I would order again. A little on the sweet side, but all and all a very balanced flavor. Downside, was really the service. We were checked on once around the food, but pretty much had to beg to get our water refilled. I'll certainly be back to go another round and see what's new on the Special's menu. Post Script: No fortune cookie with the check, instead some minty hard candy. Give me my future tucked away in a processed cookie any day over hard candy that takes nearly 30 minutes to devour.

Not the best, but decent Thai food at a good price. The Pad Thai was good but a bit too sweet and the yellow curry had a bit of a sweetness to it too. The medium heat level of the Rama chicken seemed a little mild by Thai standards. All the vegetables in the dishes looked super fresh and that just tells me they are trying hard though. I will give the food 3 stars but the service was spot on and it was a close quarters dimly lit fun aptmosphere , so with that and the decent prices Jamjuree deserves a 4. You might not leave here raving about their food but you shouldn't be disappointed either.

Yelp did not disappoint! Tried this place for the first time and was delighted. I ordered the pad see ew and hubby got the panang curry. Both were delish and very flavorful! Service was terrific as well. Will definitely be coming back!

Unfortunately there aren't many good Thai options in Seattle. This place is about average or maybe a litte above for what Seattle offers for Thai food. Although the classic done dishes are done fairly well the food could be of higher-quality. Friendly people!

Bleh! This place was bottom of the barrel as far as Seattle Thai restaurants go. The waiters were rushing our ordering process and seemed irritated when we didn't immediately know what we wanted. However, the service isn't why I give this a 2-star. The food was... unfortunate. We got Phad Thai and Pad Kee Mao. The flavor wasn't anything exciting, and we both described the noodles as "slimy" textured - my girlfriend ended up not even taking her leftovers home. Maybe this was a one-off experience, but they need to get some quality control in place for their noodles. I will not be back to Jamjuree.

Had a really good (authentic) green curry! I also had spring rolls which were fresh and tasty. The prices were good, particularly for a tourist used to downtown prices. A glass a decent red wine was $5 for example, which makes for a positive change. I would go back and I recommend the place!

We ate here based upon both Yelp reviews and a bit of insider knowledge. We are glad that we did. Everything was delicious, including the Kow Soy (which is uncommon for Thai restaurants in this country). A number of people have commented upon the service, but it was quite good during our visit. We would definitely return.

I really enjoyed our lunch here at Jamjurree. The food was very good and a little bit different than normal Thai that I've had in the city ... it felt more authentic and off center which I loved. The beer was good and the smiles from the waitstaff was welcome. Would definitely go back.

I've been to Jamurjee many times and usually it is fine - I get what I expect. My most recent time was a total fail - I got chicken panang curry and it was awful. For lack of a better word, the sauce was super gloopy and very sweet. There was barely any chicken in the dish, however there was a lot of HAIR. Like someone groomed their dog over my meal. It was awful. I'd rather pay to pick up the ingredients and make this myself (gloop and hair free) than go to Jamurjee again. I gave them 2 stars because the service is really friendly and nice. Just gross food.

I loved the Tamarind Chicken. The flavor was perfect and all of the food tasted well-seasoned and not doused in MSG.

Judged on atmosphere alone, this place rates five stars. The wood-heavy interior design is inviting, and the Thailand-related books near the entrance provide a welcome diversion as you're waiting for your food. I was pleased to learn I could add scallops to my pad Thai and encouraged when my plate arrived, as it contained a healthy dose of them as well as copious amounts of fried egg. I judge Thai places based primarily on the quality of their pad Thai, as it's the most common denominator. Unfortunately, this place failed the test. When I want bland food, I get soup or hummus. When I want spicy, I choose Thai or Indian and ask for high spice levels. I wanted spicy here, and I asked for a three-out-of-four-stars setting. I wanted to feel the exhilaration and temple sweat that only hot foods can provide. Three bites in, I realized I wasn't going to have that experience. I've had spicier cereal. I left disappointed, my expectations unmet. That said, if you don't care as much about heat levels, disregard this review and give the place a try. Be ready to hunt for parking for a while, as you're in the dreaded zone in which all the surrounding blocks are reserved for residents, leaving you searching at length for a spot on the main drag.

I give this place a 3.5 pretty good Thai food but service is really lacking. I got the beef salad which was good but I actually really wished there was more salad.

The service was perfunctory, but polite. The soup and salad offered while we were waiting for our dishes was not very good. However, the entrees were tasty, if not scintillating. We've had better, but this was sufficient for a simple lunch.

Had my food as carry out. Kow soy soup was great and their portions were generous. The staff were friendly and the food was prepared quickly. Street parking might be harder to find at peak hours.

Delicious, simply, affordable Thai. Went for a late lunch with a friend and really enjoyed my meal. I had Pad Ci Eaw with Chicken (my go-to) Thai dish and this was one of the best I've ever had. The noodles were perfect, broccoli and carrots were cooked perfectly and the chicken was well seasoned and the perfect bite sized pieces. My friend says she will drive from any part of town for the Kow Soy! Great prices, great service, great meal!! Highly recommend!

It is the 2nd best Thai Place in Seattle. Thai food is always my choice of food and I love the curries and the noodles. And I usually don't like any Thai restaurant unless it is awesome. Well Jamjuree was right on the mark for my Thai expectations. We ordered Panag Curry and Pad Si Ew. Both the dishes were just delicious. Pad Si Ew was just perfect. I am definitely going there again. Service was a little slow, the food made up for it.

This restaurant his been in our neighborhood for several years. Previously it was a Jewish Restaurant that my daughter worked for as a hostess. Now it is Thai. This is the second time we tried it when we had lunch. I always like to help out the good restaurants in our area. This was excellent Thai food. My wife doesn't like her food too spicy and hot, and when she ordered she told the waitperson to give a 1 in spicy. She was satisfied and even delighted. The total bill was $27.00 with tax, so it is reasonable. The wait staff were pleasant. Definitely, we will be back.

Ordered Chicken Jamjuree Fried Rice and Chicken Pad Thai. Pad Thai was good. Pretty balanced, how Pad Thai supposed to be. Not too salty, not too sweet, not too spicy, and especially not too sour. The Fried Rice taste good, but the rice is pretty sticky. The only reason why I cannot give 5 stars for this restaurant is because their menu online is pretty misleading. We like to see what the restaurant menu has to offer first by checking it online. On their site, the description for their Jamjuree Fried Rice does not mention that there are pineapples in it. When I received my food, I was surprised and pretty sad that it's just a pineapple fried rice. I just don't like eating greasy pineapple.

  • Jeremy H.

The food is decent, but the service is inattentive at best, and abrupt and rude at worst. Each time they open the door to their vegetable fridge, which is oddly located in the dining area, the entire restaurant fills with the smell of turning cabbage. Their "brown rice" is really millet. Despite all that, I still eat here every couple of months, but I get take out.

  • Ike S.

Chicken fried rice with highest spice level and extra green onions is perfection on a dish. Green bean chicken is also outstanding. Tremendous value for the price too. As good as it is, the place was actually better before an ownership change a year or two back. Still, an old reliable that never gets tiring.

If I could give Jamjuree a minus-5-stars, I would. (My wife actually wrote the other bad review, below) Yesterday was our 11th anniversary - of the day we first met - and my wife and I decided to begin celebrating by having lunch at Jamjuree. We live in the neighborhood, walked over and when we arrived, we were the first patrons. The wait person was behind the counter, conversing with someone sitting at the counter. We stood by the front door, expecting to be seated but the wait person just looked at us a few times, glared an angry frown at us: she said nothing and then she went into the kitchen. We waited and waited, for about five or six more minutes, and she never re-appeared and she never greeted us. Her rudeness was unacceptable. She made us feel totally unwelcome. We then decided to leave, walked down the hill to Broadway and went to Annapurna - where they are always nice and friendly! - and we had a magnificent meal. Never again will we ever go to Jamjuree.

We go there at least once every 2 wks and consistently order talay salad and pad see ew. Recently, they have jacked up the price and updated their menu. But all is good because their food is delicious, authentic (I'm Thai!) and the portion is perfect! It is my family fav Thai restaurant on Cap Hill! Decent customer service too. I really enjoy the short-haired waitress there. Will need to ask her for her name next time:)

Wonderful Thai food! One of the best in Seattle! Don't miss the sticky mango rice if it's in season! Only downside is the service can be really slow and straight up suck sometimes. But the food is well worth it!!

  • Aubrie A.

I was not impressed with this place - it was kind of a "hole in the wall," and it did not make up for that with the food. The Pad See-Ew was too salty, and the yellow curry was only okay! I wouldn't go again, there are better options.

    (2)
  • Liza Z.

I've never tried this place before and I live 3 blocks away. So today, it was time. I got a yellow tofu curry and a tofu pad se ew to go. It took them almost 25 minutes to have the food ready which wasn't a huge deal. Pad se ew had a lot of tofu, which is usually a plus BUT there where barely any noodles. Where are the noodles?! Ugh. And then yellow curry was a disappointment too :( the curry is too thick and not flavorful enough. I may give them another try but time will tell.

This is the best non-vegetarian Thai food on Capitol Hill. All the Thai restaurant staples are excellent here. My personal favorite is their Massaman Curry... yum!

  • LN P.

For most part, the food is mediocre and decent at best. The waitress I had last time was terrible. And I didn't realize I have been here before until after my order was taken. Back to the ordering, she made excuse how my order became but it was really gross. The noodles were beyond burned and tasted awful and there was some hair; I didn't even want to touch it. It took her like 15 mins to get back to our table and even argue about my meal. Afraid she will spit in my food, I was careful about my expression but we ended up didn't give her any tips. The few times before I went in, the food was better. However, don't ever order seafood tom yum. My mum ordered it and it was so salty. They bring out some lemon/lime pieces to diffuse but it wasn't ever going to be good. So overall, I won't ever try it there. I still don't get so many people keep on recommending this place to me. Meh

Cold winter day. Chicken yellow curry with brown rice. Totally yummy. And very reasonable price. Perfect.

Every color of the curry here is tasty so you cannot go wrong. My favorite is the yellow curry. I don't know if this happens to anyone else, but after feasting on Jamjuree curries, my bf and I inadvertently pass out within minutes, without fail. I would prefer this as a sleeping aid over less tasty alternatives though... *zzzz

Finally a solid thai place on the hill!!! Service here is super nice. Food is really solid, good spice level, lots of yummy fresh vegetables, and they don't skimp on meat either. The portions are quite large and the prices are reasonable. Totally planning on coming back

Open later than many restaurants in the area, this is one of my go-to places for a reliably delicious dinner. Some things are truly exceptional, others are simply good, but I've never been disappointed. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant. Gotta love the cashew chicken - I use the rice to soak up every drop of the yummy spicy sauce. Jamjuree is also a good option for take out - just park in the Walgreens parking lot and hop across the street and retrieve your food faster than a tow truck could possibly show up. And if you get there before the food is ready they'll put a water glass in front of you without even asking - a nice touch of hospitality.

Just arrived to Seattle and instantly had plans with long-time friends. Wanted to reconnect and found this place not too far from home base. Instantly greeted by the hostess and seated in our own private nook. Bonus! When it gets busy, it gets a tad noisy so the table by itself was a treat. The service was fast and very efficient. More business than friendly, but it didn't bother me since I was too focused on my company. The food was a nice sized portion. I ordered my staple, Pad Thai. Pretty good. I wasn't too greasy like some other reviews mentioned and it was on the sweet side. What I really enjoyed was the sauce condiments! They bring you 3: regular garlic chili, one similar to Siracha, and my favorite, one chili with more smokey flavor (like chipotle). Get yourself a hot green tea while you're at it! Good spot for dinner. Seems like a popular place because it was packed on a Sunday night.

Delicious. We really enjoyed our experience at Jamjuree Thai. We were all very hungry after attending the Progressive Int'l Motorcycle Show and looked up a Thai restaurant close to downtown Seattle. We were pleased to find that it was only minutes away from the convention center in one of Seattle's charming neighborhoods. We were immediately seated, water delivered, asked about tea, and order taken. The food arrived excellently prepared and we were all trying each others selections and voting on the best. The vote was unanimous, the three entrees were all excellent. Can't wait for our travels to bring us to Seattle again, Jamjuree will be high on the list of eateries.

We got take out on a Wednesday night- it was delicious, hot, fairly priced , quick and the staff was friendly. We started with the 'Thai salad' which was very good but not as we expected. It comes hot and is covered in a very tasty peanut & coconut sauce. Mostly tofu and green bean, hot with sauce seemed more like an entree but no complaints it was amazing. We had the pad Thai with tofu which was very good. It did not have that thick sauce that some places ladle on but was still full of flavor. We also had the massaman curry with tofu, very good but the curry is on the sweet side. My husband thought it was border line too sweet but still very good. We will be back to eat in the restaurant and probably for more takeout:)

service is always great and the food tastes okay too, but i suspect they put msg in their food because i get super thirsty after i eat there. maybe i should ask if they could take it out next time.

I really enjoy the low lighting and relaxed atmosphere of this restaurant. Certain dishes are quite good with excellent presentation. The Phad Thai here has consistently been a favorite of mine with the sweet peanut sauce and fried egg topping. Nom. The panang is also a treat with accompanying veggies cut with aesthetic appreciation. The Tom Kha soup left me unimpressed, as it seemed watered down with scanty bits of chicken. The service feels somewhat rushed at times, but I find this is common in affordable restaurants. Overall, I recommend this place for a casual and affordable meal with friends or for take-out on lazy days in.

One of my favorite Thai places in Seattle. The Yellow Curry is awesome, love the Garlic Chicken and the Fresh Rolls are generally tasty too. If you want solid, flavorful, consistent Thai food, this is the place to beat. I can't speak to how authentic it is or isn't, since I have never had anything other than American Thai food. Having lived in Seattle, NYC, SF and LA though, I can say that it's the best Thai food I've had out of any of those cities. Yum!

  • Michelle J.

This place is great. The food is fantastic. I love the Pad Thai Tofu and Pa Nang. It's been consistent and really great. It's been busy and hard to get a seat without a little wait but still a very causal atmosphere that's well worth waiting for. The food is super fast too, I guess it makes up for the minimal seating. It's by far my fave place in Seattle for Thai food. The prices are maybe the best part. So reasonable and you'll have to take food home. I will be a regular here. Suggestion: Try the Winter tea too!

Jamjuree is some good food. . .my only complaint is that the wait for food can be very very long, much longer than other Thai restaurants. They are always super busy and really tasty!!

  • Allyson F.

this is, without a doubt, my favorite thai restaurant. the food is delicious (i usually stick with either the pad see ew or the panang, both with tofu, but people i've brought here have been fans of their other dishes, too), and the space is big enough that there's usually not a very long wait. even though i moved to a different part of the hill and now have a longer trip to get over here than i used to, i still try to make it to jamjuree at least a couple times per month. SO GOOD!

I love Jamjuree!!! Everything I have ever gotten there has been excellent. My favorites, Kow Soy Rice noodle soup w/ chicken, Special Chicken, Green Bean Chicken, everything is yummy, and the wait staff is very sweet.

  • Jerusha J.

Hands down, this is the best Thai place in Seattle. it's consistantly good food, the prices are reasonable ($10-15 for an entire meal including tip), the waitstaff is always really nice and helpful, and the place is clean. Plus even on a busy Friday night, you can still have a conversation without having to yell. It's on my top ten restaurants for sure.

  • Robb R.

This is the best thai on Cap Hill, hands down. I had previously been a huge fan of Siam, but that was before I tried Jamjuree. The place seems like it's always busy, the waitstaff is prompt and friend, and the food... wow. My partner, who isn't a thai fan like I am, even loves this place. The staples like pad thai and phad see iew are fantastic, with just the right amount of spice, the perfect noodle tenderness, and the tastiest amount of zing in the sauce. The "Jamjuree fried rice" is not to be missed as it's a cornocopia of deliciousness. If you're looking for some of the best thai food in the city, hit up Jamjuree.

This is one of my new favorite lunch spots when my study travels take me up to 15th. I absolutely love their Thai Iced coffee and its hard to find good ones in town. Not too sweet with the perfect amount of cream...Yum. I usually get the Salmon Salad, which comes with a spicy/sweet tamarind sauce on lettuce with cabbage and other crunchy goodness. The salmon is deep fried and perfectly cooked on the inside. When I want something more run of the mill I go with their Panang curry with chicken or deep fried tofu. The curry sauce is liquid gold and the chicken meat is always super lean and moist. Basically you can't go wrong. But the thing that no one should miss is the Fried Banana dessert with coconut ice cream. I would make the trek up here solely to enjoy the banana donuts with individual bites of yummy coconuty goodness. The only reason for the four stars is I have had better thai, but quite honestly not in this city so for now this is tops.

When on Cap Hill and wanting Thai, You must give Jamjuree a try! ------------------------- Oh I do love the grand cashew With chicken mostly, or tofu. Jamjuree makes it so boss They have a thin and tasty sauce. The place is usually close to full The ambience it fits the bill. The service is quick and nice Its right around the usual price. So take this from a Thai food snob They hired the right cooks for the job!

I love this restaurant. Love. It. Special Chicken, Beef Salad, Yellow Curry Fried Rice to name a few. Everything is unbelievably fresh, the restaurant is clean, the staff is prompt and courteous. My favorite Thai restaurant in all of Seattle.

Does anyone know if this place recently changed ownership? It just doesn't seem as good as it used to be. Seems like in the past year it hasn't been as good.

  • Zac S.

Definitely the best Thai in Cap Hill. They have very good traditional dishes like Pad Thai and Pad See Lew. The Jamjuree fried rice is DELICIOUS, and one of the only dishes with pineapple where the pineapple is not overwhelming! Thai curries here are also good, although they tend to be sweeter than they are spicy, so beware. The one bad experience I've had there was the Rama Noodle Incident of 2008. Their rendition of this dish was to stir fry up the ingredients without any sauce, and then dump an entire bottle of cafeteria grade peanut sauce over the top. That was definitely inedible. I wish they would get some actual Thai (or even just Asian) beer on tap as well--surprise, IPA does not go well with Thai! My complaints may take up more text than praise, but I definitely love this place. It beats the pants off of Jai Thai and Siam.

  • Kat C.

I love Thai food- the curries, the wide rice noodles and the Tom Ka soup, and there are a lot of Thai restaurants to choose from, but I haven't found one I like better than Jamjuree. The staff is always nice and prompt, the portions are perfect and the food is consistent. It's great for take out when all I really want to do is sit by the tv and gorge myself with Spicy Noodle. Lunch is also a great bet with soup and different combinations for a decent price. No complaints here, and their beer is a steal.

You can't walk 2 blocks in Seattle without finding a Thai Restaurant. My favorite - Jamjuree is excellent-- best Thai on Capitol Hill. Consistent. . The quality is just as good if you dine in house as if you take it out. The atmosphere is classy and nice. Wonderful peanut sauce and satay. If you are like me and a little whimpy when it comes to spice, stay on the lower side of the spicy chart. They take their stars seriously.

    (5)
  • Amanda S.

This is by far the best Thai I had on Capitol Hill, probably in Seattle as well!! The Phad Thai with 3 stars was just spicy for me and the spring rolls had a great ginger flavor sauce, which was yummy. The Thai Iced Tea was a bit sweet, but only because it was my first time trying it so I did not know what to expect. My new to town friends just absolutely loved this place and is now their original :)

    (5)
  • Kris S.

Forget grimy old Broadway. If you're looking for Thai on Capitol Hill, head to Jamjuree. They serve both lunch and dinner, perfectly cooked, sauced, and served. The service is adequate for a laid-back neighborhood place, though you can expect some delays and confusion if it gets busy (and it usually does). That said, the food is so delicious that the spotty service is easily forgiven. To start, share the awesome Chicken Satay or the Thai Special Salad--actually just green beans warmed with peanut sauce--and a Thai Iced Coffee, then move on into a curry or the Oyster Chicken. I've found that things usually run a little on the mild side here, so don't be afraid to ask for hot, hot, hot. For dessert, there's the traditional thai yumminess of a fried banana and ice cream or the equally delicious black sticky rice pudding. Try it out!

Fall/winter is approaching. You spent half the day cleaning up the place muttering "i have to go outside, i have to go outisde" as the sun likes to set way earlier than you'd like. Suddenly it's dinner time and you have absolutely nothing in the fridge to eat. That's when you call Jamjuree and get ready to leave the apartment. Put your shoes on, get a cup of hot thing to drink, stuff something to read in your backpocket and maybe even a smoke. After 15 minutes of saunter, a generous (and delicious) plate-ful of spicy noodle with seafood, or a garlic trout (deep fried whole fish!) or green curry with tofu, all arrive steaming in front of you and your friends, who all have been impatiently tossing in the peanuts, clutching at pre-dinner Singha. Call me when you go eat!

Great food and lots of it; friendly and fast service; cozy atmosphere and good prices. What's not to love. Jamjuree is sure to become a regular "too tired to cook lets go out" destination spot for us.

  • Hanna W.

This is my first time to Jamjuree which I know is preposterous to some of you Capitol Hill rats but it is true. I never had the desire to go there since it is the site of my all time favorite childhood restaurant - Matzoh Mammas. I am sentimental...sue me. Anyway, the green curry was DAMN spicy. Two stars should not have been that hot but I still liked it. I would have liked it to be a little thicker but the consistency was better than most. Also, it was a little heavy on the bamboo shoots but had lots of basil which is always good. Overall it was pretty yummy and I would definitely get it again. If you live close to 15th then this is a good place to make your neighborhood thai joint. Otherwise I probably wouldn't drive out of my way to go there.

  • Donte P.

Try the Pad See Ewe. No seriously. And pass up the chicken or beef and get the seafood. Prawns, calamari, scallops and fish make this dish wonderful. You end up with just enough of each, and somehow none of them overwhelm the dish. That's what's most surprising about the dish. Overall a tasty delight, and the one menu item I find myself gravitating toward on a regular basis.

Went here for lunch and had a dish (can't remember the name) with bbq pork, cilantro, egg noodles, green onions and a soy broth and leafy greens. It was excellent. I'll definitely be back.

Excellent food and attentive service. We ordered the Rama Noodles and the Basil Chicken, both of which were great. The latter was a bit too gentle in flavor for me, but for many people it is probably perfect. Dinner menu starts early (3pm), but the portion sizes are great.

It's between this and Ron mai for best thai place in this neighborhood. Loved the crab rangoons, flavors were all on point and I was very excited to eat the leftovers later on that evening. Price wasn't too bad, everything was fairly reasonable. I will probably be coming back here in the near future to check out some other dishes.

Its a very good thai place to eat. They have very good curries and noodle dishes. I especially like their yellow curry, massaman curry, ramma noodle, and chile chicken. You should probably pass on their pad thai, but thats my only complaint and I am picky when it comes to pad thai. Overal for price, quality and overall experience they are very good.

LOVE THIS SPOT! Pretty nice ambience and vibe every time, and the dishes are only $9. Like many from Capital Hill/Central District, I always come back to Jamjuree for my Thai fix. Their phad thai is great and their curries are also solid (favorite is the Mussaman, which is a little sweet). All soups here are also tasty. To eat better Thai, you'll have to spend 3x as much elsewhere. Oh, and remember to round up on the spicy star ratings at this place.

This was my ex's favorite place, and he lived about 10 blocks away so we used to walk here and eat a lot. Food: Great quality food, lots of vegetables in the curry, great curry flavor, great meats. Big servings. Drinks: The lime non-alcoholic drink is amazing. The thai iced teas & coffees are also great. Service: Quick, friendly, efficient. You also get little candies with your receipt. Price: About $2 more expensive per dish than in the U-district but infinitely better quality! I don't mind paying $9/curry when it's full of goodies not just dry chicken and some leaves!

Swing by this place if you're in the area. The people are friendly and the price is right. However, the food could be better. The pad thai that I ordered was overly sweet and mushy (texture definitely seems off).

Inconsistency is the only constant here... OK so I always get to go from here and I always get the same thing. Yellow Curry Fried Rice. Sometimes it is so incredibly good and sometimes it is awful. Sometimes one star is not spicy at all and sometimes it is so spicy it is inedible . Sometimes there is practically no chicken to be found and sometimes in has loads of chicken. So Jamjuree if you could get all your chefs on the same page I would really appreciate it!

Very good neighborhood place. Casual atmosphere, friendly service and the best Pad See Ew in the city.

Cool little restaurant with a nice atmosphere and really great servers who actually check up on you and refill your water. Ordered a plate of the Crispy Wonton Pad Thai. AMAZING!!! The best Pad Thai I have ever had! Haven't tried any of their other food but as far as trying a different style of Pad Thai, put this restaurant at the top of your list!!!

The food is some of the best Thai I have had in Seattle. I eat here regularly and especially like the Thai Special Salad (green beans in spicy coconut sauce) or the Prawn Noodle (wide rice noodles with curry sauce). Large portions and prices between $8-10. The takeout service is quick. The table service can very and is sometimes slow and inattentive (probably bogged down by the constant stream of takeout patrons). The interior is well designed, so it is very pleasant atmosphere if you aren't in a rush. Bonus, when ordering a beer, it comes with peanuts mixed with green onions.

This is the best Thai food on Capitol Hill. Always fresh with rotating specials it is hard to go wrong here.. The Pud Pumpkin dish I had to night was delicious just the right amount of sweet spice balance. My partner loved the beggars purses, deep fried wonton skins filled with crap and cream cheese, not my kinnda thing but... The people are really friendly and they give you yummy green onion peanuts when you order a beer, what could be better. Is this destination Thai food? No. Is it reliably good Thai food? Absolutely.

I love Thai food. I REALLY love Thai food from Jamjuree. They have really great lunch specials that start off with soup (vegetarian) & salad and then a combo of phad thai with a handful of selections from their menu. This is one of the only places that can serve steamed tofu and have it taste FABULOUS. In fact, I normally eat tofu fried and overseasoned so I can't really taste it, but not here! The staff is super friendly and fast. I saw a review recommended that you order 1 star below what you normally get. I have found that the level of spiciness is usually right on - I always go for the hottest (4 stars) and it's perfect, although at times I could use a little more heat.

Best Thai on the hill, easily. Pleasant servers, ok atmosphere, cozy booths, good for a large group.

Got take out lunch here today. I ordered chicken phad thai 4star and spring rolls. Phad thai had good flavor. lacking a little in heat, so order up a star or two. Very little chicken in the dish, so don't expect to get your protein fill. The oddest part was that the whole thing was encased in egg. It was almost like a phad thai omlette, but still good. Wish I could post a picture of it. Spring rolls were a little under done, but nothing special.

I love Thai food, but easily get bored (or worse) with a lot of what is passed off in many joints these days. Eating at Jamjuree with a thai food-timid friend I was pleasantly surprised by the unique and fresh takes on Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. Loved the fried egg treatment on the Pad Thai. Will go back for sure to try the Panang Curry next time!

  • Joseph P.

Don't know if it was because the time I showed up but the only reason it was ok was the price. Curry was off, didn't even come close to what I asked for in spiciness, which bummed me out, it was actually a reverse spice, no spice what so ever, my friends (non) spicy dish was better and more spicy then mine, so I was disappointed to say the least. 4 stars my ass? I guess I should try again?

Best thai food on the hill. Forget about ketchupy phad thai and the usual bathing this and swimming that. Jamjuree has amazing dishes with nuanced flavors -- be sure to check out the specials! Where else can you get pumpkin phad thai? They're also really good about accommodating special requests. Since this is my neighborhood spot, there have been several times when I've gone in and asked them for "lazy healthy dinner" -- steamed prawns, veggies, and brown rice. They're always willing to make it for me, despite the fact that it's totally off-menu. My only complaint is that they have fried spring rolls instead of fresh rolls. But that's a teeny quibble.

  • Amy B.

I found the dishes that we shared to be much sweeter and less spicy for my liking. The specials seemed to be quite inventive and the ingredients seemed to be fresh and plentiful - our portions were quite large. The service was speedy and very helpful - my water was refilled often! A big plus in my book! The tables were a bit awkward and the chairs a tad uncomfortable - but nothing horrible. The staff works as a team so you don't have the same server throughout the meal - but it seems to bring efficiency not confusion. The decor is tasteful and trendy in a Thai kinda way. I really liked the soft music that enhanced the evening without drowning out conversation.

Best Thai food on Capitol Hill hands down. I've been going to this place for the last few years and I've had a good experience there every time. Ignore the one star naysayers. They can stick it up their panang. The service at Jamjuree is consistently fast and friendly, and their food is a notch above everyone else in quality. There are plenty of cheap thai places where you can get rubbery phad thai that tastes like it has been drown in ketchup, but that won't happen at Jamjuree. I moved from Capitol Hill to Beacon Hill over a year ago, and I still go out of my way to eat at Jamjuree despite the fact that I'm walking distance from the International District.

Excellent Thai food at a very reasonable price. This is some of the best Thai food I've had around here. Their Pad Thai is of course great, but the Ba Mee Hang is incredible: thinly sliced BBQ pork, on thin noodles with a delicious sauce, and mixed with fresh uncooked baby spinach that wilts into the sauce a little. (This dish is inside the front cover of the menu on what appears to be a specials page, but it's always there.) Service is what you would expect - they refill the water regularly and it's never hard to get something.

Food has always been great, service on, and I leave feeling happy and full. No complaints here. Well, maybe it could be more spicy. I guess that's what the side spices are for...

I love the food. They treat us as a group well. Unbeknownst to me mid year they began adding an additional 18% on our tabs because we came in as a group. They didnt tell us of this change. I was not working so generally being budgetwise I ordered a low cost dish. It rang up so high. I need to talk to owner. They pride themselves on good custoimer service. I went back an dupped them to a 5 because the food is so great.

The best complement I can pay a place is this; when I get a craving for Panang curry, I get a craving for Panang curry from Jamjuree. The can be crowded, and at time the service is slow, but as soon as the food arrives all sins are forgiven.

  • Alison P.

Well, it wasn't awful. That's one nice thing I can say about the food. But it was kind of almost awful. The peanut sauce looked more like my food was swimming in peanut oil. It was somewhat coagulated on the plate. Yum! And the rice noodles, those wide ones that just melt in your mouth at a good Thai place, were clumpy and stuck together. If you are looking for good Thai food, this is not the place to go.

This place was great! I met up with some college friends here for dinner. The ambiance here is quite nice. It really just feels kind of soothing, but cool to be here. Everything I tried tasted very good. One of my friends ordered the Massaman curry and I was a little jealous that I didn't get it. It was delicious! The service was very good. We had one of our party get lost of the way here and she was pretty late....however, the waiter kept our drinks coming and didn't give us a hard time at all. When we finally ordered, the food came fast and was very fresh. They also separated our checks without a bat of the eye. This really is a great place. I'd definitely go back.

I've been looking forward to eating here because so many people have said that it's the best Thai on Capitol Hill. I stopped in for an early dinner with a friend (who grumbled about having to walk up the hill to get there when we walked past a couple Thai restaurants on Broadway). I found the wait staff to be very friendly. They greeted and seated us quickly. We ordered Pad Thai with tofu and red curry beef. I was surprised to see the Pad Thai served with a cooked egg on top; I've only seen that done on vacation in Bangkok. The consistency was soupier than I'm used to, but the flavor was very good and I enjoyed it. The red curry was pretty standard; good, but not really noteworthy except for the fact that there was a noticeable lack of grease on top of the thick (and I mean thick) sauce, which is a good thing. Our bill came to less than 20 bucks, and we had enough leftovers for another meal. Pretty solid, but the best Thai on Capitol Hill? Hmmm...I need to try some of the competition and report back on my findings...

  • Deanna H.

I ordered the chicken fried rice and the spicy noodles. When ordering you get your choice of spicyness on a scall 1-5. I chose 3 on both orders. The spicy noodles however tasted more like a four but still tasty. I usually do take out at this place but dined in this time at lunch. I would have given the place a five but my waitress was so rude! She is the one with the short hair. The gentleman working was very nice. Not sure what her deal was. Next time I will just get my food to go.

Very yummy Thai food at a reasonable price. My husband and I split pad thai and the house "special chicken" (chicken, yellow curry sauce, veggies), and both were delicious! We only went to a 2/4 spiciness on the yellow curry, and I'm glad we stopped there! They are not messing around with the spice. Love it. I had read the Yelp reviews, so we added a side of brown rice; it was extremely flavorful and rich! Thanks Yelpers! I think we spent about $30 for the 2 of us, which was very reasonable for the filling and delicious meal we shared (2 entrees, rice, 1 glass of wine). Definitely recommend!

After leaving Remedy Teas on a gorgeous Saturday evening, a group of us settled on Jamjuree for dinner as the option which scored highest on the effort involved to get there versus reputation scale, and I was personally looking forward to trying it for the first time based on recommendations from Thai food fans who did not falsely worship Thai Tom as its pinnacle. I didn't want or need to love it, which usually leads to unhealthy decisions and trysts outliving their usefulness, but I was still expecting a viable challenger for the Seattle Thai food crown. Alas, it was not to be. While the spice levels were actually appropriate (unlike several Thai restaurants in the area) it turned out to be only slightly above average Thai food with unlisted ingredients in certain dishes (although they were quick to remake the dish of a party member who had an aversion to the bell pepper surprise she received.) I wasn't brokenhearted with my panang curry or the spicy noodles I sampled, but I still felt disappointed with the flavor. If Jamjuree were in suburban NJ it would stand out, but there are far too many Thai restaurants in the area to tolerate over-promising and under-delivering. I wouldn't take back our time together, and I wouldn't overrule it if I was with someone who really wanted to do it again, but I don't think I'll repeat the experience on my own.

-1 star for NO STICKY RICE Extensive menu selection. Lots of vegetarian dishes. Everything I have tried here was fantastic. My girlfriend loves the LIME CHICKEN. plenty of seating in this restaurant. Jamjuree is the name of a tree.

Jamjuree is such a hit or miss place for me. It's right in the neighborhood and there's always seating available, but... it's just not my number one. The one thing here I'll get every time is the tom kha soup. The small bowl makes a perfect entree and it's really well balanced between the coconut, lime, and lemongrass. I've eaten here on several occasions, and while I liked the flavoring of the pad see ew last time I tried it, it was much too salty. The server was very gracious about it and I felt like it was a fluke, but it was still disappointing. I'll also admit that sometimes, the food here just doesn't sit right in my stomach. Maybe it's an issue of richness, maybe I came on an off day, but at this point, I don't want to chance it.

Highly recommend the yellow curry (with chicken). Wonderfully seasoned and well portioned. If you like your food spicy, asking for a medium amount of heat results in food with a light spice kick. Ask for it hot instead.

I'll keep this review short and simple. I ate some of the best Thai food I ever had in this restaurant. Say yes to the - Chicken Wings - Pad See You - Yellow Curry I'm sure they have some other bomb ass menu options, but the three menu items mentioned above are the ones I had the chance to try.

Ordered their pad Thai, basil chicken, and pork with chinese broccoli for take out and couldn't be any happier. This is definitely our new go to thai food for takeout. Get the pad thai for sure... Lots of flavor!!!

Jamjuree offers reasonably priced Thai dish around Capitol Hill, 15th ave neighborhood. We stopped by for lunch this past week and were quickly seated by Thai waiter/waitress. All of their dishes (at least during lunch time are priced around $8-10. We each ordered a dish and were also surprised by the additional small portion of salad and soup that came with the meal and kept us from being too hungry, too. It was actually quite nice, given the a price of the dish and the neighborhood this restaurant is situated. While I wouldn't exactly call this restaurant super authentic with their Thai food (most of their dishes are around curry, easy fix meal, the taste was quite ok. Given the price range, their great service and its proximity to the place we live, I wouldn't mind stop by this place again if we were looking for a quick option/place to grab a meal.

I tried the pad thai. It was ok but for some reason it taste like the Amy's vegan grocery store version. I think the reviews may be a bit overdone which is typical of yep. If a certain part of town is trendy, the reviews for some spots can get overrated cause people enjoy the area more than the business itself. I digress. Food was ok. I'll try a different dish and rate it again later

Everything is wayyyyy on the sweet side. Yes I know, pad thai is supposed to be on the sweeter side for a noodle dish, but no. Not that sweet. Even the pad kee mao is too sweet for my liking. And the soup you get with your meal... is like sugar soup. So weird. Service is super slow, and there's one woman there with short hair who is really rude. Just takes your order without a word and sulks away. Whatevs. Their only redeeming factor is that they have this combination menu where you can get curry AND pad thai. Ok how many times have you had this struggle at a Thai place: noodles or curry (like at brunch--sweet or savory?!?!)?!?!? But here you can get both! Also they have brown rice at no extra charge. I think there are better places in Seattle for Thai. I don't think I'll be returning.

I ordered beef Pad Ki Mao through Caviar. It was a generous portion for a reasonable price. 3 star spicy from Jamjuree felt like a 4+ star from most other restaurants, so buyer beware. Other reviewers have written that they found this dish had a burnt flavor, or that the vegetables were mushy/overdone. I didn't have either problem, and found this Pad Ki Mao very much to my liking. I would eat here again.

Best Thai food I've had in a long time, I've tried their pad Thai, spicy chili tofu , and a coconut cream soup I forgot their name. Their brown rice is also tasty. My friend had a broccoli lovers special. Service is good and they even box up your leftover food for you.

Wow. The taste of Thai was perfect after a long hike through Mt. Baker. Recommended by a local, Jamjuree provided this San Diegan a reminder of her fav Thai spots in SD. We stuffed our faces with taaaaasty Jamjuree fried rice with chicken and prawns, piping hot tom yum soup, and fried whole trout covered in garlic sauce. Ohh boy. We demolished our entire meal and left with full bellies and immense satisfaction. Our waitress was super nice and guided me on which sauce to get over the fried trout. Excellent recommendation. The atmosphere was very comfortable and would definitely stop by again next time we're in Seattle!

I ordered to go and the person taking the order was so rude. I asked a question about something on their menu and the person on the phone asked,"Do you really want Thai food?" Geeze! I thought maybe the restaurant was super busy and she was just stressed out. When I got there, there were only two tables filled. Food was average. Not going back there for average Thai food and rude service.

This has become our new take out spot after moving to the neighborhood a couple of months ago. Rama Noodles and Panang Curry are excellent and so is the Satay. If you want spice, you really need to emphasize it when ordering; I'm not a heavyweight spice eater but even their normal scale doesn't get to a level I'd consider hot.

  • Calvin E.

I WANT TO LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH BUT I JUST CAN'T. I've probably been there... 15 times? Most of the time, the food is really good. The Rama Noodles with tofu are SO FREAKING GOOD I can barely stand it. The soups, the pad thai, etc. etc., it's all good. EXCEPT. Strike one: Me and my GF ordered the Rama Noodles and some kind of curry (I think it was green curry - we'd had it before). The Rama Noodles were great, but the curry tasted like someone had literally accidentally poured lighter fluid into it. It was so disgusting we could not even eat it, and we boycotted them for months. A week or so ago, she was out of town, so I ventured over to try the old standby, the Rama Noodles. They were AMAZING. So last night we ordered out. We ordered, of course, the Rama Noodles. We are both very strict vegetarians, and she's more or less a vegan. We ordered this dish, with this exact description on the menu: CRISPY CHILI TOFU OR CHICKEN Golden brown fried tofu or battered chicken glazed with garlic chili sauce on the bed of steamed vegetables, topped with crispy basil. Sounds like a great dish for a vegetarian, if you get it with tofu, yeah? Well, when it got here, it smelled incredibly strongly of fish. My GF almost threw up. We called and asked them if there was fish sauce in the dish, and they said yes. They were nice about it and took that item off our bill, but seriously, for two very strict vegetarians, ordering a tofu dish that says nothing about fish sauce in the description should have been a safe bet. I'm sure they have tons of vegetarians eating there! The moral: either ask if every single thing you order has fish sauce in it, or just go to Arraya's where everything is vegan.

Where does a person get Thai food in Capitol Hill? I'd say this place would hit the spot pretty well. I'm the type of person who tries the Pad Thai at each Thai place I go to. And this place had a pretty great Pad Thai. And you get a lot for the price ($9)- who doesn't love Thai leftovers? Also got the green curry, which was decent. Not as good as the pad Thai but certainly delicious. This place definitely satisfies the Thai food cravings. I would recommend!

  • Allison T.

A different type of Thai than I'm used to but delightful, never-the-less. I highly suggest the fresh rolls. They're huge. If you're a fan of peanut sauce, this one will taste a bit different because it's actually a peanut-sesame sauce. My roommate and I had one each and we could have easily cut them in half and saved them for lunch the next day. The Brown Rice is not traditional but still really good. I'm not sure what different about it, honestly, it almost seemed like there was a paste? in it. Anyways, we had this with the yellow curry (at a 3 star) and it had a nice kick to it. Definitely a more wintery meal with the potatoes. The "Pad See You" wasn't disappointing but I feel like I need to warn that it's ALSO not like a traditional dish. Instead of oyster sauce they use a sweet soy sauce and, from what I've read, a bean paste. It was still good but not a normal thai Pad See Ew. So, please beware of that. Even though I did an Order to Pick Up, we could tell that the service was wonderful. Everyone seemed happy and friendly, including the clients! We're definitely going to return.

Food is on the sweet side. Wasn't impressed by the food nor the service. Their pad thai was odd, and the salad looks thrown together. The spring rolls were ok. Nice location though.

I went to this spot just before I had my massage appointment in the area. It was quiet and there was probably only one older couple in the dining area and another guess in the bar. They let me pick where I wanted to sit and it took a little while for me to even get a menu despite having no customers there. The waitress was really friendly and when she did give me a menu, she apologized for the wait. I ordered right away - Tom Yum Noodle Soup and their Winter Spice Tea. I love Tom Yum soup and especially when places have them with the rice noodles so I'll try it anywhere I can to find the best one. The food also took a little bit to come out so it was building my appetite even more. When it finally arrived, I had the Winter Spice tea in the mean time and really enjoyed the warm spiced drink that was almost reminiscent of a non sweetened chai. When my food finally arrived, It was loaded with shrimp, veggies, and some chicken meat and looked really appealing. When I finally went to do the soup test though, I have to say I was a little disappointed. I'm used to Tom Yum having a bit of a stronger ginger/lemongrass/lime flavor with a bit of sweetness but this one just seemed to be more on the sour side across the board - not necessarily a lime sour either. It was as fragrant as I hoped. It took awhile for me to get myself accustomed to the flavor of the broth, but in the end, on a cold winter day, it did its job. I liked that there was a lot of noodles in it and that the waitress remembered I didn't want bean sprouts in them (most people forget I ask for 'no bean sprouts'). I would check this place out again since it is in a cute little area of Capitol Hill and I am usually around that area anyways. I would, however, try out a different item on their menu such as the Rard Nah or rice dish. Their bar seemed to be busier and a lot of people order take out from there so maybe the dish I ordered isn't what they're known for.

Jamjuree is AMAZING! My boyfriend and I have fallen in love with Thai food over the years so we are always looking for the best place around us. Well we don't have to look anymore because we found it. Jamjuree is hands down the best Thai food I have ever had. The waiters and waitresses are always extremely kind and attentive. Your drinks are always filled and they are always there to answer any questions. I highly recommend the chicken Pad See You, the chicken Fried Rice made with brown rice, and their Mango Juice! So far we have never had a bad meal at Jamjuree and I don't think we ever will. It's the best Thai food around!

Hands down the best Thai food in Seattle. I could eat the Pad See Ew daily it is so great, and the panang curry is out of this world. If you get the lunch combo it makes for a good lunch plus second lunch. I say brown rice all the way, it is super dark and delicious. I would consider 4 stars because of occasional rough service or mix ups on to go orders, but the food is so darn good I have to go with the full 5 stars!

  • Lady V.

Got the spicy chili chicken and the "chicken" had the exact same texture as the breading. It was so gross. I don't care that the sauce was pretty decent and their brown rice was the nice reddish kind. That chicken totally ruined the meal for me. I was just waiting for it to be over. Based on someone else's review that said three stars wasn't spicy, I went ahead and got 4 and it was moderately spicy. One extra star because the waitress was adorable and nice. Oh, and I did really like their salad dressing. Unfortunately that was cancelled out by the lukewarm, not very tasty soup.

Great interior and vibe - super fast service. They had a few local beers, as well. The spring rolls are AWESOME. The little salad that comes with them has a super great dressing, and the sweet dipping sauce is delicious. They give you lots of rolls and they are really flavorful without being greasy. Our food was tasty and came with solid portions. It was really reasonably priced, too. Great place!

The staff and food is great. There are a ton of Thai restaurants in Seattle so I know what's good and what's just average. Thai food is one of my favorite foods so I have been around. The food here is by far the best, best Thai iced coffee too!!

  • Laren B.

Gargantuan portions, average prices, yummy food, and a convenient location mean I will be returning! We took a couple of out-of-towners here and they absolutely loved it. I ordered their green curry which was very good and quite spicy. My sense were cleared out! It felt and tasted so good! As I looked around the table I saw that everyone's orders looked delicious and also like a mountain with the layers of veggies and meat stacked high! The service was decent as the food came out quick I would say this is certainly a casual atmosphere. The restaurant is a good size. A lot bigger than Jai Thai on Broadway. Great Thai place on the hill!

Delicious massaman curry. The tofu was fried nicely. The onion to peanut to carrot to potato ratio was perfect. Everything was cooked nicely, not too soft or too hard. The curry base was thick and slightly sweet. The spice level was a little high for a "4" but I completely enjoyed my meal. I'll be back.

While living in Seattle, this was my go-to Thai restaurant. The food is consistently delicious, but I especially liked the Papaya Salad with Tofu, Tamarind Prawns, and Panang with Chicken. Also, their Pad Thai is the best I've ever had.

  • Rachel A.

Maybe it's just me, but I was pretty disappointed in Jamjuree's Thai. I had the crispy chili chicken and a friend had a combo with pad thai and a curry. I thought the crispy chili was too sweet, too great a ratio of bread to chicken, and not flavorful or spicy enough. I wish I were willing to give it another try based on the other reviews here, but there are too many good places to get Thai in Seattle, so I won't be back!

The parking up on 15th Avenue East is nearly non-existent, but, from what I've seen and tasted, the dishes at Jamjuree are well worth the effort involved in getting there. The locals obviously know what they have, since the place is well frequented at dinner, which is when I've managed to get there. Occasionally you might have to settle for the bar or a table at the door. I've been ordering vegetarian, which is a food choice that often leads to difficulties for those of us who like to eat out. But I've yet to walk into a Thai restaurant in town that doesn't offer this choice. A good "baseline" dish to try is tofu Pad Thai. I usually order it slightly spicier (hotter). Here the dish comes covered with egg and, upon repeated ordering, maintains its quality (i.e., A for excellent). Finally, there always seem to be enough servers on shift, so that somebody is immediately ready to take your order and hover about and attend to your table.

I'm giving this place 4 starts not so much for the food but for the neighborhood atmosphere it has created. Usually I grab stuff for take out and almost always run into a friend or someone from the hood. Their food is good abet a bit sweet for me but then again I keep coming back. Mostly for convenience sake and also the fact that I know what to expect...read consistency.

How I heard of this place: While I'm confident I have heard of Jamjuree before, and may have even sampled the Thai cuisine in this north Capital Hill establishment in the past, this trip was recommended by my friend Tahirih on a whim and a craving for red curry. Type of cuisine: Thai cuisine. Thai food prepared with slightly less kick for the American palate. Ambiance: Dark interior furnishings in an open space with chairs and tables to both sides of the entrance hall. A small bar is also available as seating for the lone diner. Minimal ornate Thai decorations grace the space. It is comfortable and family friendly. What I ordered: Having had dinner just two hours prior to meeting up with my friend, I opted for the seasonal special white sticky rice with fresh mango ($6.50) and dusted with sesame seeds. My dining companion started with a Thai iced tea ($2.50) and an order of the spring rolls ($6.50) - crispy stuffed vegetable rolls served with sweet & sour sauce. For her main course, my dining companion ordered the Plik King ($8.25) - tofu with red curry paste, green beans, basil, and lime leaves and a side of red rice. What I loved: Most of all, in the bites I sampled, the favorite was the red curry stir-fry with fresh, crisp green beans and steamed tofu. My dining companion was very pleasantly surprised by the delicious sweet sticky rice. Both of us were blown away the perfectly ripe, gorgeous, succulent, pre-sliced mango! Why I loved it: The service was friendly and quick. The food full of flavor and the company priceless. Cost: Low to average ($8-$10 for dinner entrees)

I have been dining at and getting take out from Jamjuree for several years. My boyfriend is vegetarian and it is often hard in some Thai restaurants to be sure that the food you order does not include fish sauce or shrimp paste. Jamjuree wait staff are always helpful and knowledgeable about the ingredients in their food and are willing to make special requests to accommodate dietary restrictions. Good food, quick service and the 2 times I had issues with the food (one time the Tom Yum soup was super sweet and another time the garlic chicken was way over battered) they promptly replaced it with another option. My favorites are their Pad See Ew, fresh roll and garlic chicken. Looking forward to take out tonight!

Went here for dinner on a Sunday night. After reading pervious Yelp reviews, we were really looking forward to eating here. We normally frequent Manao, but we decided to try something new. We were seated right away and placed our orders. I ordered the Pad Ki Mao (4 stars) and my boyfriend ordered the Pad Thai (2 stars). My dish was a true 4 stars. I could barely eat it - it was so spicy! I got what I asked for though. Great blend of flavors. My boyfriend on the other hand had an interesting dish. Most pad Thai tastes the same... This dish was super vinegary and there was a fried egg on the top, not mixed in as you usually find it. At first glance we were a little confused but we continued to eat. My boyfriend had ordered the chicken dish and as he was eating he noticed something that looked like raw chicken-it really did! We flagged the waitress down and she said it was a pickled vegetable. My question is why would you ever put a pickled vegetable in this dish that has chicken in it if the customer is going to feel sick to their stomach thinking they are eating raw chicken? Other than that, the meal was good. Service was good as well, super friendly waitstaff always wanting to refill your water. Will be back but won't order pad thai

There are lots of Thai options on cap hill but Jamjuree is far and away the best. Friendly staff and ample portions. Actual spice when you want it, none if you don't. I'll put there chicken fried rice against any other Thai establishments on the hill. And the fried spring rolls are way-y-y-y too good. Truth be told, they have mixed up my take away order a few times so it's good to check before you leave. However, they are always very gracious and apologetic when this has happened. Highly recommended!

One of my favorite Thai places I've been to - they serve it pretty spicy and of course have a nice beer selection.

This is one of the best thai places in seattle. The garlic noodle or pad see ew are the best dishes in my opinion. The pad thai is okay, but definitely not the best. If you haven't been, I'd definitely suggest it.

Why oh why oh why do they put so much damn sugar in everything? We'd been here once before (several years ago back, in my pre-Yelp days). My memories of that one visit were fairly neutral so today while on The Hill, I decided to swing by for lunch. It wasn't crowded, but the staff seemed annoyed that me, as a party-of-one, deigned to request a table (despite there being several empty tables). Instead, they tried to steer me to the bar. And even after I managed to get seated at a table, a girl brought out two glasses of water and two sets of silverware and acted all bothered that a party-of-one was sitting at a table. Anyway, I ordered the roti and the crispy chili chicken from the appetizer menu. First they brought out a complimentary soup and salad. The soup was a very sweet clear broth with peas and carrot resting on the bottom of the cup. The creamy sesame dressing on the little salad was, like the soup, very very sweet. Next came out my roti, which was heated triangular slices of "Thai" flatbread served with a yellow curry. The curry was even sweeter than the broth or salad dressing. Cloyingly sweet, as a matter of fact. I could barely eat any of it. Lastly, my crispy chili chicken appeared. It looks just like orange or General Tso's chicken. It was served on a bed of broccoli with rice on the side. Frankly, the chicken was awful. Amazingly, it was even sweeter than the curry. I could only eat a couple of the pieces. My table was completely barren of any condiments whatsoever, so I asked for soy sauce to see if it cut down the sweetness of the chicken. Unfortunately, it didn't. I already considered the service sketchy because of the guff they gave me about wanting to sit at a table, but my opinion was not improved when they brought the check out immediately following the dumping off of the crispy chicken. Never did they ask me how my meal was, nor when seeing that I had eaten hardly of the chicken, ask if I needed a take-out box. I will never eat here again. The good news is that because I was still hungry after leaving here, the Deluxe burger I got afterwards at Dick's filled me up nicely.

The food is delicious and the cost is reasonable. Jamjuree is definitely worth a visit. Try to get there a bit early or you may have to wait for a table. I don't quite understand the red looking brown rice...sort of off putting.

Good Thai food, although parking in the neighborhood SUCKS. Since it is Capitol Hill, expect to drive around for 5-10 minutes until a spot opens up. The interior is quiet and the waitstaff speak in low voices. I ordered a Thai Iced Tea, no milk, and our waitress brought me a Thai Iced Tea clearly with milk in it. She then disappeared, so I could not flag her down. There were only 1 or 2 other groups seated in the restaurant. When she finally came back with the food, she noticed that I didn't drink any of it and asked why I hadn't had any, and I told her that there was milk in the tea, and she agreed, but said that she hadn't added any extra milk. *facepalm* She took it away and took it off the bill, which was good of her. The pad thai was good, my aunt ordered it with shrimp, which I thought was a bit overcooked, but that's the risk you take when you order seafood at a non-seafood place.

Delicious! This is where I take friends who are visiting. The only reason this is not getting a perfect 5 is that their fresh rolls leave a lot to be desired, as well as their deep friend spring rolls. Also their degrees of "hotness" varies from night to night. One night my roommate got 5 out 5 stars and he could barely taste the spice, next time he got the same thing and it was too spicy to eat! Besides that this is perfect, please check it out!!

Don't be fooled by the 4-start rating. We ordered Massamam curry and Pad Thai and they were both mediocre. I was craving some delicious Thai curry (Thai Tom is my goto place) and it didn't do it for me. Service again wasn't very good. The ambience was good with skylights. I am not going back. Will look around for other options around CD/Cap hill area.

The people that work here are always so nice and friendly - even if you are only just getting takeout. The food is average thai takeout, but they do a good job of keeping dishes consistent. The cost is completely reasonable.

Jamjuree has slipped a notch. Pad thai was a bit bland. Fresh rolls that were long on lettuce and short on other ingredients, Chili chicken - some pieces of deep fried chicken, surrounded by rows of steamed broccoli. Tamarind pork - long on sweetness, short on spice/heat. Jamjuree loses one star.

Large affordable portions - sometimes enough for 3 more meals.. dishes seem to come out with extreme flavoring i.e. our tom kha soup was good ; chicken was perfect, broth had a nice texture yet it was intensely limey. Another noodle bowl was just very sweet and another entree was intensely soy salty. Balance of flavour and spice levels were off - ordered at 3 and there was little heat if any. Ok noodles, ok tofu, ok chicken, ok bbq port. Its OK. Large space reminds me of a Denny's or something like it, prompt friendly and attentive service. Lots of food for a good price point. Would come back again when really hungry.

It's a little pretentious to call myself a Pad Thai connoisseur but honestly I've had the dish at many other Thai places and none of them have gotten close to what I've experienced at Jamjuree. They have the best Pad Thai in all of Seattle (and possibly San Francisco, sorry). You must try the Pad Thai.

A better than expected Thai restaurant with pleasant service. Granted that servers at this place are very eager to take your plate away but our waiter was nice. He overheard that we were there for a birthday celebration and gave the birthday girl complimentary coconut ice cream. =) Between the three of us we tried the roti, pumpkin red curry, and the seafood pad see ew. Everything was slightly different than how I am used to these dishes but they were good. The roti is very different from the ones from Malay Satay Hut. The yellow curry was more watery and has fewer potatoes but good nevertheless. The pumpkin red curry is also very light and not starchy, but overall it was very flavorful. Two stars of spiciness was just right for my American tongue. The pad see ew is sweeter than most places but there were quite a bit of seafood and was quite tasty. Also notable is that their brown rice is quite good even to people who only like white rice...=P I don't know if this is the "best Thai food in Seattle" but for the clean environment and the tasty dishes, I would say it's a safe bet for decent Thai food.

This review is going to be short and sweet: Met some friends here on a weeknight, one of my friends is a regular. I ordered the Panang Curry and was pleasantly surprised. The heat level was accurate (it's usually too weak for me), the vegetables we fresh and the flavors were bold. The portion was great, and despite my hatred for "doggie bags", I packed up my leftovers to eat the minute I walked in the door! The service was friendly and fast. I'll definitely be back.

I had lunch here and ordered the Pad See Ew with tofu. It was so burnt that it was inedible. Literally a plate of blackened noodles and veggies where the only flavor was that of carcinogens. I never usually send back food but this was unacceptable. When I received a replacement it was less burnt but still had remnants of char in it and the overall flavor was dominated by this horrible flavor. Clearly a dirty grill. I ate a few bites, but that is all I could stomach. What a disappointing experience!! When I told my server that the dish was still not good, she did no form of service recovery. She stated that the head chef made the replacement and that is how the dish is typically served here and they refused to take the item off our bill. I have had this same dish at a dozen other Thai joints and it never came out where the flavor profile is that of charcoal. They seemed annoyed by me and obviously do not want my business. As a former server, I would have never served something that looked so obviously burnt. Not impressed. Poor service recovery--did not ask me if I wanted something else, did not attempt to rectify the situation, therefore I will not be back and would recommend you steer clear of this restaurant as there are plenty of other Thai options on the hill.

Not too bad, but had better! Decently price, and taste a-okay. Nothing too special and had better quality within the same price range. Service was all right. I do like their lunch special which is a good deal. Overall, if you are just craving for Thai food and is in the neighborhood, this is the place to be.

I was sorely disappointed by this place, which is saying a lot since I was starving, and they say hunger is the best spice. Vegetarian spring rolls were filled with little shreds of lettuce and carrot (and maybe cabbage), and were very bland and yucky. Decided to get egg noodles with "spicy" peanut sauce, which turned out to be sickly sweet - I imagine that sauce would go nicely on a chocolate cake, but it was not a flavor I could enjoy on noodles. I dunno how egg noodles are supposed to come, but these were super soft and squishy so I had like two bites before calling it quits. I'm not giving 1 star because the service was friendly, the thai iced tea was tasty, and the place was clean, but boy I would not return. If you want delicious Thai food, check out Thai Tom in the U District!

I love this place! Especially love the Khao Soi (curry noodles from Chiangmai Region), which are really hard to find in American Thai restaurants. Definitely recommend it!

Jamjuree may have a consistency issue. My friend and I dined here recently and what we got was a plate of super oily Pad See Eiw and a pot of luke warm Holiday Tea (see my pictures). This is to contrast my previous experience where the food, albeit standard, was still enjoyable. The service was standard. One unique thing about Jamjuree is that if you order a beer, they'll complement the beer with some roasted peanuts that are delicious. fun! Jamjuree is conveniently located enough that if I had a craving for Thai food and it was two blocks away, I would go again. But given the other Thai options to be found around the 15th ave area (I'm including the Broadway strip here), I probably won't find myself coming to Jamjuree anytime soon. I've definitely experienced better.

Like a few other people have noted, I can't understand the huge difference in ratings. We eat a LOT of Thai food and travel long distances to get the good stuff. So when we saw the high ratings, we thought we'd try it. We went for lunch and thus, it was not a busy time for them. The service was great and the restaurant was very clean. I had the Pad Ki Mao and as many of the lower reviewers have also noted, I found the food to have a burnt taste, the noodles and vegetables were total mush and it had a very oily feel to it. My lunchmate had the Tom Yum Noodle and found it to be fairly flavorless. Maybe they do a better dinner but we won't be going back to see.

Moldy Noodles. I've been going to Jamjuree many years for take-out. The consistency and quality of food has declined over the last several years, and I've gone less frequently as a result. My last visit in late July 2013 was by far the worst. The noodles in the rad nah dish were riddled with mold, so much so that felt as if I were putting dirt in my mouth. I immediately spat the food out and threw it out. I will never return.

Picked up Thai while in Seattle. Meh Thai as far as I am concerned, nothing to get all excited about. Food- 2.5 Stars Pad Thai was lumpy and had some weird flavors, the fried rice was good not great. Wings were blah, spring rolls were too. Value- 2 Stars Pricey for Thai Atmosphere- 4 Stars Picked up food but the inside looked nice.

This place is good. Service could be better but they seem to be always busy so that's actually a good sign right? I had the TomYum Noodle soup and it was really filling. The waiter did not refill my freaking $2 soda pop the whole night until AFTER the check came and then she's like "want refill?" and i'm like hello, too late lady. Good place, food was great.

Awesome spicy noodles (aka drunken noodles) for a great price! Friends loved the green curry too. I was a bit underwhelmed by the service which was very nice and friendly at first but then just kinda...went away. It's a nice restaurant and the back corner table is pretty sweet. Great food and good prices!

This was recommended to me by a friend. I had the seafood red curry. It was lacking in flavor, quite bland. However, the spice level was good. I ordered four out of five stars and it was perfect for me. I just wish there was more coconut and curry flavors. I also had a Thai Iced tea to drink. This was one of the best Thai iced teas I have ever had! It was great! The staff was exceptional! I went in alone around 8pm on a Saturday night. The place was full and groups of two were waiting to be seated but they made room for me at the bar. Everyone was extremely nice, they checked on me multiple times, but not too many. At the end, they boxed my food for me and were very fast with the payment process. Overall, I would go back. I would definitely order something different. I still have hope for this place, especially since I was sent there by a food loving friend.

I have been going to Jamjuree for several years now and have tried much of the menu. The food is consistently delicious, the service quick and friendly. I have to admit though I try other dishes but then always come back to the Crispy Chili Tofu...I try to stray but then I come back...it is my favorite. When I have taken friends they also rave about the food and in specific the curry. The food is really good, try it, you won't be sorry.

I love food, but I'm not an expert on Thai cuisine. I'm the guy that orders Pad Thai 90% of the time I'm at a Thai restaurant. So I feel like I at least know what good Pad Thai is. Many of Jamjuree's dishes are on the sweeter side but not to the level of it ruining the flavors. In fact, it enhances them. I've had their Pad Thai multiple times and it's probably one of the most satisfying dishes I've ever had. On occasion the spice level can be a bit off, but that's typical of most places. I've also had the Rainbow Trout with garlic sauce which was great except the garlic sauce became a bit overwhelming after a while, and the Rama Noodle which had a generous amount of their incredibly tasty peanut sauce. What jumps Jamjuree up to 5 stars is the service and atmosphere. Although it's obviously not a "fine dining" restaurant, you can tell that they tried to give the place somewhat of a classy feel, and the service to match it. Water is constantly refilled and the servers are there the second you need them, though not hovering over your shoulder. That's not even the best part. Almost the entire menu's dishes are under $10, and the portions are huge. This is my go-to Thai restaurant in Seattle.

I am a fan of this place. I know it is not authentic Thai food...blah blah blah...whatev's it is delicious. I ordered the Yellow curry with chicken and the tamarind with pork. It is served family style just like most Thai places. I had plenty of food for leftovers even after two people had eaten it. I ordered the tamarind with pork because tamarind is a pretty strong flavor and it can overwhelm chicken. The yellow curry can in a huge bowl. It was warm and yummy. I took most of it home.

One of the many things I love about the West Coast -- we have the leg up when it comes to Thai cuisine. From LA to SFO and now SEA, the selection is great. Jamjuree is one of the consistent spots on Capitol Hill. WHY GO THERE? Good Thai food with seasonal selection on special menu. The yellow curry is the best. And if you prefer brown rice, they got the richest looking brown rice. So rich, it's blushing red. And tasty. WHATCHA GOT? Yellow curry, chicken or other protein. I love curry that's not too spicy. I didn't get the Asian spice gene. Marco Polo would have pushed me down the cliff if I was his Sherpa in the wild spice trade. Jamjuree has good lunch menu. They also have dishes with tamarind not found in other Thai restaurants. YOU GOT SERVED. During my first visit, I was seated at a secluded corner window that looks out the street and was afraid the waiter would forget me. Fear is unfounded. Service is fast and attentive. The space is clean and has a lot seating.

I have tried a fair amount of Thai restaurants around Seattle and so far this is definitely one of my favorites. The food is always flavorful and tastes extremely fresh. I very often order their garlic noodle dish and it never disappoints. Even their Pad Thai stands out from most restaurants, with a very tangy and memorable flavor.

As good as it gets. The food is fantastic and the service is better. I recently had a mix up in my order when I took my family out for dinner at Jamjuree. Two dishes sounded very similar and the wrong one was delivered to our table. It was probably more my fault than theirs. The exceptionally nice and accommodating staff old us to keep the first one at no charge, then immediately brought out the dish which I meant to order. At the end of the meal they comped us their delicious mango and sticky rice desert for the inconvenience! The pad thai and basal chili chicken are the best, but get em with plenty of stars.

I ordered the Panang Curry with brown rice and the crispy spring rolls. The curry had very good flavor (I ordered it 3-star spicy) and lots of beef in it, as well as a huge side of steamed broccoli and carrots. The sweet chile sauce with the crispy rolls was very good. I would have licked the bowl if I thought I could get away with it, without anyone seeing me! The dishes are able to be customized - anywhere from 1-4 stars on the spicy scale. I thought the prices were pretty fair, although I was a bit annoyed to realize they charged for the rice. I mean, you're ordering curry - what are you supposed to eat it with, if not rice? It's like giving someone an order of marinara sauce and meatballs and then charging them for a side of spaghetti. It didn't make a lot of sense to me, and it ticked me off to see the charge on the bill. Other than that, I didn't have a problem with the prices. The atmosphere is casual and sweet; you can almost forget you're in a little plaza. I liked the big windows in the front which afforded a view of the busy sidewalk. An assortment of booths and tables and a bar. I would go back next time I am in Seattle.

I wouldn't mind that the hostess refuses to talk or that she yanks half full plates off neighboring tables ("We're still working on that!") while guiding us to our table. If the food was decent. But boy it isn't. The Pad See Ew with seafood had a robust, but completely uninspired flavor and was equally greasy and slimy; the complimentary broth was reminiscent of dishwater. My friend had the Massaman Curry with chicken and found it flavor- and spiceless and, again, much too greasy. The only compliment goes to a very friendly young male server. If that's indeed the best Thai food on the Hill, I'm scared to try the rest.

    (1)
  • Robert K.

The food is way too greasy here. We actually went to the Walgreens across the street afterwards to get some Tums. Their idea of spiciness is also laughable, three stars out of four was not spicy at all. There is much better Thai food in Seattle, like the Jai Thai in Fremont. Avoid.

Been craving thai food for awhile so the boyfriend decided to take me here for dinner. The food here is good but it's not the best thai food I've had. We were both super hungry and ordered the hot wings, turmeric fried rice, red curry, and pad thai. We didn't finish any of the dishes except for the hot wings since it was the first thing that came. We were close to being full by the time the rest of the food came haha. I like that the staff was very attentive and filled our glass every time they came around and they were also quick. Maybe I'll come back here and give the place another try.

I love Jamjuree. I'm kind of picky about my Thai food, and Jamjuree is one of the few places I trust to do it right. yes, it's pretty ordinary in terms of options, and not very "authentic" (I think you need to go to Thailand for real Thai food), BUT they do a great job with the sauces, especially anything involving tamarind. Love their phat thai too. Great for eating in, taking out (they're really fast), and I've always had good service. The food runs a little spicy IMO, stick to one star if you're a wimp like me!

Super quick service & fairly average prices. I really enjoy the Tom Kha & Tom Yum soup, cashew chicken & coconut chicken. The staff is very friendly and pleasant. One of my favorite Thai Places around the Capitol Hill area.

  • Chi N.

Everything I had from here so far has been pretty good. If you frequent Thai restaurants, you won't really find anything out of ordinary on the menu. But some items do have a bit of twist to it, which I like. I especially like the light lime chicken and the fish cakes. They are both served on a bed of crispy spinach? basil? leaves and they are tasty and unique. Also, they serve the food super fast--they bring out appetizer and entrees all at the same time. Its good if you are hungry, but I noticed that if you are getting hot items like soup or curry, the food becomes cold pretty quickly, especially during winter months.

Placed a small order to go. We got a LARB 2 star (beef) salad and a YUM NUER 3 star (beef) salad along with the TOM-YUM 3 star, (Thai version of hot and sour soup). Everything we got was better than expected. The spice was what we ordered was spot on. Nothing more nothing less.

Delicious food at a reasonable price - it's tough for us to not simply consider Jamjuree as an extension of our kitchen and eat there every night. I love the Khao soi, all the curries, and my girlfriend loves the spring rolls and tamarind. They have been great about working with her as a vegan with gluten intolerance, while I can get all the meat and seafood I want. Highly recommend dine in or take out.

  • K W.

I enjoyed this place. I ordered the curry and it was fantastic, and my dinner date had the Pad Thai and said it was tasty, too. The service was fine. Nothing special. I have had better Thai, sure, but this was "A-OK".

  • Vandana P.

The thai food here is atypical. It is sweet like some of the other reviews noted. I love thai food and have quite a few favorite haunts and this place won't be one of them. The ambiance and location are good but the taste is not. Ordered the Ginger at a spice level of 4 and it was plain bland. Do not order the Green Bean. It is sweet as hell when none of the ingredients indicate there's anything sweet. It just comes at you without warning.

I arrived in Seattle around 8-ish in the morning and my good friend Peter was hosting me for the next 6 days. When I arrived, I realized I was underdressed and the cold Seattle wind literally bit into my skin, leaving it flushed. Peter had to go to work and I had to vpn, so after he gave me wool socks to wear around his townhouse, he left and I was left to my own devices. Since I had slept through the two hour flight, I totally missed the service break of coffee and crackers, so around 2:00 in the afternoon, I became starved and could no longer concentrate on work. Peter called to make sure everything was at my disposal and to check in on me. "I'm hungry." He told me to go around the block and see if any of the cute restaurants and cafes offered a light distraction since he was taking me to the symphony later that night. I had been craving Thai ever since I left SF so when I saw the sign of Jamjuree, I ran in. Modern. Clean. Slightly trendy. And the joint was slightly packed, odd given that the lunch hour was over. The waitstaff were friendly and quick, as the minute I showed up, she came over to greet me. I perused a menu and ordered two of my favorite items: Pad See You : "Thick rice noodles with broccoli, carrot, egg, and black soy sauce." I ordered it 3, a medium spiciness. $7.75 Thai Green Curry: "Bamboo shoots, zucchini, green beans, bell peppers, and basil leaves in green coconut milk curry" Also ordered it medium spiciness. $8.25 I also ordered a side of brown rice. There was so much food, I could only finish a third of both dishes. The noodle saute was savory, although I felt that it could be a bit more spicier. The green curry was very tasty, indicative of a strong meat base since I've not had curry like this even in SF! Brown rice serving was a little on the small side, but at least it mentally curbed me from consuming too many carbs. I even had enough for Peter to sample when he got home as a little snack before we left for Benaroya Hall.

We come to Washington from Vancouver about once per month and we ALWAYS make this restaurant a must because the food is so delicious and the service is so friendly. You must try the Swimming Rama and wash it down with their refreshing Thai Iced Tea. The food is relatively cheap as well!

Oh my gosh, I LOVE this place! Not only do they have fabulous Thai food, they have delicious beverages too! (Non alcoholic) They are consistent, friendly and clean. When I am in Seattle, I try to stop by for some fabulous Thai food!

Great place for Thai on the hill. 4/5 star actually is spicey! Hard to find a place like that nowadays. The flavors are pretty good and their portions are large. In almost all Thai places I go to, I like to order the Kee Mao Noodles and Panang Curry and mix the two together. This place doesn't disappoint. The Panang Curry was a little greasy though but the sauce was still nice and creamy. Honestly, I had 3 meals off those two dishes. All for a reasonable value. I got it to-go so I cannot comment on the service. The restaurant looked clean though. I'll be back!

The one Thai place I always, always bring out of town visitors. When I told the staff I was going to Thailand, they sat down with me and helped me plan out my trip- including local attractions in one of the servers' hometowns. The service is great, and the food is always just the best. And they have the best Yum Neua in all of Seattle, I swear by it.

The Tom Kha soup was really good wish I could say the same for the garlic beef not so good. The service was very slow but friendly.

I visited Jamjuree for the first time on Friday night with a large group. I ordered the green curry (2 stars...which felt like 4) and it was really high quality food. The service couldn't be any better. They really catered to our needs, which is amazing these days. I'm also gluten-free and the kind waitress knew exactly which items were gluten-free and I didn't experience any cross-contamination at all, which is always a blessing. The atmosphere is very nice save for that we were at a window seat and there were some people smoking outside, which is not nice. Still, there's really nothing Jamjuree could do about that and we just closed the window for awhile. All in all this is a wonderful place to eat with excellent service. Our whole party of 12 were happy with their orders.

There seems to be a never-ending supply of Thai restaurants in Seattle, but hey whose complaining? Jamjuree is a step-above the usual, so-so attempt at Thai cuisine that I was fortunate enough to come across while walking around Capitol Hill. Having arrived at lunchtime, I decided to be money conscious and give the Combo special a shot. Prior to ordering, my girlfriend and I were pleasantly surprised to receive a small bowl of soup and a side salad (which turned out to be complimentary fare to all customers). My order consisted of the Tofu Pad Thai + Garlic (choice of Tofu, Chicken, Pork or Beef). The presentation of the dish was arranged very neatly, (and as my girlfriend put it, "cute"). The food was great, not overly spicy/salty like a lot of Thai establishments who tend to be a little heavy handed. The portions were very good, and the amount of brown rice was definitely more than average (yay!) The servers very kind, and checked back to our table on a regular basis. They were quick to prepare another order for my (vegan) girlfriend as she had forgotten to mention to exclude eggs in her dish. All with a smile on their face as opposed to some places who would be scowling. Warm, charming, and (definitely) affordable, this yummy spot is great for a quick stop either by yourself or with a group of friends. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!

Just picked up some take-out, including a couple of our usual dishes. None of them were like we've had from other places, and ultimately we were not thrilled with any of them. The Phad Thai was too sweet, the Rama Noodles were bland, and the Tom Kha was heavy with mushrooms and not much else. Some may like these flavors, but they did not work for us. We'll try another place on the hill next time.

This is my favorite place for Thai in Seattle. I'm not a big tea drinker, but my friend turned me onto their Jasmine tea, it smells like a field of flowers and is calming! YUM! I'm a sucker for red curry, and theirs was pretty decent, but I loved what my friend had, the 'showering tamarind'. Right amount of spice with complex flavors and didn't sit heavy in the stomach afterwards. I'd give their fresh roll appetizer 3 stars-nothing too fancy but good. I dunno; I'm addicted to that tamarind, just thinking about that lone dish makes me give this place 5 stars. Oh, and boo for no AC on a hot evening. And the ceiling fans weren't even going. Y'all need to cool down the place since summer's coming.

This place has the best yellow curry that the Seattle area has to offer. Holy Moly. I live in Spokane and I visit Seattle pretty regularly. Each time I go I stop by Jamjuree for a meal! I haven't tried anything else, but I definitely give that yellow curry 5 stars! I like medium spiciness and a 2 is perfect. Just enough of a kick.

I love, love, love Thai food so I was so excited when my friends say they were taking me to Thai food for dinner. Well dinner quickly turned into craziness. Here are the pros and cons: Pros- The food was great! I got Pad See-Ew and it was super delicious. I had it at my favorite local Thai place back in So Cali when I got home and it was no where near as good as this place was. The flavors were right on par. Cons- RUDE SERVICE! I mean RUDE! We came in with a group of 5 people and asked to be seated, not a problem at most places. The host(hostess? We could never tell if it was a man or a woman) told us there was no room for all of us, and we had to take 2 tables. Not we could take two tables if that was ok, but we HAD to take two tables. We saw plenty of open tables that could easily be pushed together or a table that an extra chair could be pulled up to. We asked if that was ok and they yelled "NO, NOW DECIDE OR GET OUT!" We asked for time to think on it and they kept yelling "DECIDE NOW OR LEAVE!" We almost left based on how rude the server was being. Another group came in behind us and the server basically passed us by and was going to give the table to the group behind us. Thankfully they had 7 people and the look on the serves face was priceless. Finally we asked again if we could just pull a chair up to the large table next to us and they said fine. I noticed not two seconds later that the server was pulling together the tables that they wouldn't pull together for us for the group of 7. Really? You had to be such a huge ass about it all. The spiciness- We all got a range of spice to our dishes, I went with the 2 because I didn't know how spicy things got. One of my friends got a 5 because she likes it HOT. When the dishes came the spice level for everyone was about the same. If anything mine was the spiciest of all the dishes, which is fine because I like spicy. The food here is great but the service needs to get fired. You don't yell at customers and tell them to leave. I probably won't come back on my next visit because I don't want to deal with such a rude person.

Impressive, attractive, tasty, unique, affordable.....this is the criteria that really matters with a Thai restaurant and it's all top notch. Service was less then the usually overattentive / borderline annoying, and ambiance was lacking, but who cares?! You're not a Yelp junkie because you're looking for bad food with exceptional service,.....right? (then let's not sandbag good eats because of piss poor service people! Yes, this is a hint, and I'm talking to you) If you're looking for some great Thai nibbles, go here. And FYI- they don't seem to be afraid to light your your mouth on fire with Thai spice if that's how you want it. A big + in my book.

Dedicated to my pretty sister Diane, Located on the busy street of 15th and e mercer is this cute little Thai restaurant. I've been meaning to try out this establishment many many times but I when I am hungry, I usually go to my usual Thai restaurants in Seattle.(Keep it on the safer side) Also, it's been in my bookmarked area on yelp for a very long time, so I thought,"why not check off the bookmarked places on your yelp?!!!" So I did, and that's why I LOVE YELP!!! Anyways, as I sat down and looked at their gigantic itemed menu; the specialties menu caught my eye. Spicy pandan chicken was what I ordered and it was decent. Lightly deep fried with a little spice. I would have wanted more sauce but I don't think that is how it came prepared. It was also accompanied by cold broccoli and pan fried basil. Not so bad if temperature isn't your thing. But for me, I just didn't care for it. As for the dedication item I ordered specifically for my sister.... drum roll please.......Phad kee mao, wide rice noodles stir fried in tamarind sauce with prawns, mushrooms, basil, red and green peppers. I added extra noodles for 1.50 and it was so worth it!! I ate that plate like a pregnant woman eating pickles and peanut butter!!! I Just tore it up :) To end this review is just this, please do try this place out if you're in the area. I would say it's bar none the best thai restaurant on capitol

The space itself is very cute, and the staff is friendly and prompt. The pad see iew was very good, though a touch too salty for my tastes. Tom Yum Soup was a big win. The flavors in the broth were excellent. I do prefer a few more veggies in mine than were provided, but the broth itself was amazing. The spring (fresh) rolls were good, but the peanut sauce was not. It was thin and too sweet. When will people learn how to make a good peanut sauce? Take it from me... I'm a full blown addict. Here's my favorite peanut sauce recipe: myspork.wordpress.com/20… I'd come back if I was in the neighborhood, for sure. Though I would probably go to Araya or Thai Tom first before coming here.

This place has been here FOREVER and for good reason: simple, no frills, delectable awesomeness! I stopped in on a recent trip back to Seattle not too long ago, the first time in this restaurant in years. I was seated promptly and tried their turmeric curry special (I got the rice noodle w/ chicken and extra green bean, also came with spinach, ginger and lots of cilantro-YUM!). It's very northern Thai style but not crazy salty like other places. SO MUCH FOOD (this will seriously feed 3 hungry-ass people) for only $9. I'm pretty much in heaven with ordering it extra spicy. YES!!

This is my go-to place while at work. I almost always get the tom-yum talay soup. Sometimes I venture out and get the phad-seew. Seafood is hit and miss. Sometimes, 50/50, the seafood is bad..meaning it has gone bad with a rancid taste. Reason why I am giving it four star versus three? Because there really isn't many outstanding restaurants on 15th.

I am very impressed with this place! The food has always been so good here! The service is super-good, they are very sweet and remember you after a few visits. It's a comfortable, pretty restaurant with good atmosphere! They have different teas that are quite good. The food I love here is the Tom Ka soup (chicken or tofu), sticky rice, Pad See Ew, the Green Curry. Definitely worth trying!

Jamjuree is hands down the best Thai food on Cap Hill! Their menu covers everthying under the Thai sun - mouthwateringly delicious fresh & spring rolls, Phad Thai, Phad See Ew, Tom Kha Soup, seven different kinds of curry...you name it, they've got it! The restaurant's interior is very classy and elegant given the low prices (about $8.50 - $11 for the average dish). Then again, I'm usually the one hurriedly picking up large take-out orders at the bar so I can scarf it all down when I get home. I've only actually experienced the sit-down restaurant here once, and the service was very pleasant. My personal favorites: -Pad See Ew (best I've had, bar none!) -Turmeric Noodle (a unique dish, I have yet to see it at any other Thai place) -Chili Chicken - Crispy fried chicken with spinach and chili paste - this one is my all-time favorite and is always wolfed down in minutes! Overall: wonderful food, great value, great service

Awesome Thai food restaurant. The food is not only great, but you get more than enough, especially for the low cost. Service great as well. If you want great, inexpensive Thai, at a fun restaurant, Jamjuree is a must.

A friend and I decided to dine here for lunch today and I am glad I finally got to try the muchly talked about Jamjuree. Ok, so only one person I know bragged about Jamjuree, but he's within 2 blocks from the place, so it was his Thai place by default. I ordered the green curry with chicken and brown rice. I am not usually a fan of brown rice. It always seems I am eating some kind of barley or bird seed mash. However, the waiter almost insisted on the brown rice and I am glad he did. The rice was soft and savory. Not like any brown rice I have experienced. The curry was spicy and savory with chicken. The service was speedy and efficient. Just what I would expect from a nice little Thai restaurant.

Eh... ive definitely had better thai food. I had the pad thai and green curry... nothing to write home about but got the job done. I'll definitely keep coming back just because it's a block from my apartment, but if i wasn't so close I wouldn't miss it.

I can't believe I've never reviewed Jamjuree before. I get take out from here on the regular...and there is a reason for it. I've never had a bad meal here. I've had a couple of so-so ones, but they have been consistently pretty dang good. My faves- chicken satay- chicken is juicy and spiced well, and their peanut sauce is EFFING AMAZING. Seriously, I eat it with a spoon (whatever, I'm in my own house, no shame). And, they give you plenty of it. That truly is awesome sauce. curries- I love their yellow curry, and the kabocha squash curry especially (this is seasonal, usually in the fall). noodles- I usually go for pad thai, the noodles have texture, and it's a generous portion mango sticky rice- OH EMM GEEE. awesome. just awesome. This is also from their seasonal menu (and it's the season, folks!) and it is just the perfect dessert. I will leave my apartment in my sweats and walk to 15th to get some. Oh God. I want some now. Also, their staff is always pleasant and efficient...now go get some mango sticky rice and yellow curry.

As usual, Seattle delivers on great Thai food. We settled in at Jamjuree for dinner on a weekday. The place was busy, but service still managed to be fast and attentive. The menu is good, but we ended up ordering everything off the specials. Starting with roti and a cury sauce, we ordered spicy chilli tofu and a pork tenderloin dish served on spinach and thin noodles. Everything was great, and the portions were generous. I especially enjoyed the tofu, which was a delightful combination of sweet and spicy. I will definitely be returning for more.

I just wrote a scathing review of a Thai restaurant I experienced while traveling and promised myself to finally get around to reviewing Jamjuree to balance the negativity! We've primarily ordered take out over the last two years and have always had a great experience. Make sure to call ahead! We love the spicy papaya salad in particular. Recently we ate in the restaurant with 3 others instead of takeout, and our table of five had a great experience. The server quite patiently handled our indecisiveness and made some good suggestions. The food was spot on, service was great and I remain a big fan. Keep up the great work!

This place has a lot of things going for it and, for me, the most important is that it caters to my wife's gluten allergies. I have been to this restaurant many times and have also ordered out several times and the staff has always made the proper adjustments requested for gluten allergies. They are always very friendly and are sure to repeat the order back to make sure that they are clear on the order. I am always impressed by the service here. Of coarse the main attraction here for most people will be the food, of which I give a hearty endorsement for. The spicy noodle and bathing rama are among my favs on the menu. One thing I like about the star system here is that it actually works. When I request four star spiciness, I want to feel my stomach crying out in painful ecstasy, and that's what I get at this place. If you are in the area, definitely treat yourself with Jamjuree.

Great place for a qucik, tasty cheap lunch. Good basic thai food, they can and will go hot if you ask them too. Their lunch combos (veggie pad thai, rice and an entree) is huge. Good for dinner too, good sized portions to share and nich Tom Ka Gai soup.

Man, I really want to like this place because...well, I just want to. I've been here so many times and have never really been impressed. It's not bad, but it's not great either...and I want greatness. I have so many friends who rave about this place, so I've been here a bunch of times with them...and every time, it's just missing something. I can't do it. I can't come back here anymore. I know there's so much better Thai restaurants out there and I'm not going to waste my time with just eh. Such a shame, because it does have potential, but it just falls flat.

Finally finally finally made my way up to Jamjuree & I wasn't disappointed! This is damn good Thai on the hill. Highly recommended if you live or like to hang out in the area and are looking for good Thai food. The staff is pleasant & the fact that it's located down the street from Remedy Teas is a plus! Might I recommend the veggie massaman curry? Yes, yes I might.

Craving Thai food? Especially the kind that is prepared quickly, awesomely, is super tasty, and well priced?..then head on down to Jam yourself full of yummy juree! lol. The staff is friendly, efficient, quick, and man, I have no idea how they prepare the food so quickly whether the place is packed or not. Either way, I think it's magical. I frequent this place and have never been disappointed. I am actually still recovering from my Jamjuree food coma as I write this to you fellow Yelpers. I normally have enough to bring home for lunch the following day, but this evening, I was way too excited about eating there and had a severe case of the hunger. No leftovers this time, but my tummy is pleased. Just do it..check this place out. Nice atmosphere, good food, and prices.

The staffs are very nice. Hands down the best Thai food restaurant in Seattle (the second best is on 42nd in the U-district). Food was served fast. Restaurant is classy, elegant. The amount of light is just right. Reasonable prices.

I've had an issue the past four or five times I've gone here with the food that has been served. Either the tofu tasted really old, or an incredibly salty phad se-ew dish. Something has happened to the quality and I'm afraid I won't be going back anytime soon.

You know that feeling when a waiter won't look you in the eye when they serve you, and never ask how the food is because they're ashamed to serve it? This is the vibe me and a coworker got when we came to Jamjuree for lunch. I ordered the lime light chicken, and my coworker the garlic chicken. Mine was so weird! No Thai flavors at all, and really unappetizing to look at and eat. And how do you screw up garlic chicken? Who knows, but there was definitely an off taste to it, so my coworker barely ate any, and when asked if we wanted boxes to go, we said no--I think that's a first for me! Maybe their dinner menu is better, but I was very disappointed in their lunch. Maybe I caught them on an off day, but Seattle has so, so many better Thai places, that I won't be wasting my time coming back to try it again.

I don't understand why this place doesn't have a five star average. Very generous portions of excellent Thai food for 7 dollars during lunch. Given the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere, it's an incredible value.

If you're looking to satiate a Thai food fix that's better than a lot of fast food Thai but isn't knock your socks off amazing, Jamjuree is the place for you. Limelight chicken was yum. But then again, I'm a sucker for most things lime flavored. That's all. Moving along.

Best Thai food! I get the yellow curry with rice (vegetarian) and it's delish!

  • Steph C.

I like this place! I like the yellow curry, the pad thai is some of the better that I've had, the tom yum soup is REALLY good, and the service is always really really friendly and attentive. Noticeably so, I'd say. The portions are huge and I always end up taking stuff home. OH. and I never liked brown rice until I had it here. For some reason, it's just really good. And it's healthy! Try it! The thai tea is a bit too sweet for me.

I love this place. Service is fast and their food is to die for. They serve large portions for not too much money. Best Thai food I've had in quite a while. Also, they have this lime soda drink that is simply amazing.

I live right around the corner from this restaurant, and for many years was underwhelmed and unimpressed. A year ago I gave it another try and had my (low) expectations shattered. The food has continued to delight me and I keep going back. Love the soups, the noodle dishes and the service. It is good, decent Thai food at great prices.

I came here with a great friend to catch up after vacation. The food here was quite yummy. The staff was just the right amount of attentive. They came over to check in on occasion, but not to the level of being annoying considering we sat there for a while. Their Thai iced tea was a bit different than normal but still quite yummy. I had a tofu dish and am pleased to report that their tofu was cooked properly and not too mushy. I'd definitely come back!

  • Paul I.

The main thing holding me back from giving this place more than 3 stars is the sweetness of their dishes. Granted, my mom is the one that hates it when her Thai food tastes like candy, but this place is a little bit much even for me. Aside from the too much sugar thing, the flavours are quite good and they have a solid menu. The curries have a nice creamy texture that tells me how well it'll lubricate my arteries. They also haven't overcooked their meat in the dishes that I've ordered, which is a plus. Biggest upside to this place? The portions are huge. One dish seems to serve two. Be prepared to bring home tomorrow's lunch.

My favorite thai place in the neighborhood. They have a great menu that definitely has something for everyone, and the restaurant is a really nice place to take a date or go eat with a group of friends. Everything is very affordable, and it's also one of our top options for takeout. I always get the Pad Ki Mao. They give a generous portion and it is a great combination of meat, vegetables, and hearty noodles. I love spicy food, and this is one of the few places that is up to the challenge when I ask them to make it as spicy as possible.

    (4)
  • Robin N.

Jamjuree, in my opinion, has the BEST yellow curry in Seattle. It is so good and the portion size is large enough that it is EASILY 2-3 meals! I always only get the yellow curry when I go, just because I know it's so good and addictive, but I have been here many times with friends and have never heard any complaints from anyone. My boyfriend and I took his parents here when they were visiting from out of town, and his father is definitely a white-wonder-bread kind of man. He was pretty afraid when we suggested going out to Thai for dinner (he's very meat-and-potatoes-let's go eat breakfast at IHOP and dinner at Applebees kind of guy), but even HE really liked his dinner! Great job, Jamjuree! :)

Reducing them to 3 starts for the poor service and poor quality of food I have received the last few times I was there. There is a female waiter with short hair who can 1.) either not speak any English or 2.) just has a piss poor attitude...who knows maybe a combo of both. She ignores any requests you makes, won't bring you more water and is more then happy to stand at the bar and b.s. with other waiters. The food has also been off lately. Extremely mushy rice, and the meals have been drastically cut back on the amount of sauce and garnish them come with. Breaks my heart a little to have to reduce their star value. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat.

So much to love about Jamjuree: -Quick service and fair prices -Feel totally comfortable eating here solo -Their brown rice is super delicious with a delicate nutty flavor -Solid beer and wine selection -Interesting specials that incorporate some seasonality to the menu -The most amazing peanut sauce anywhere However, eat here for dinner. Their lunch doesn't do them justice (though it is a great deal of food for $8).

  • Liz M.

Jamjuree has dropped in my rankings after a particularly brutal experience late last year put me off of it. My previous review mentioned the variable spice level - well, I'm not sure what happened but I think they might've knocked the entire spice container into my dish. It was almost inedible and gave me a stomachache after. I may give them another shot in the future, but with so many other thai places in the area, I'm not sure it's worth the risk.

Been here twice now. Really solid Thai food. Good portions, amazing price, clean interior. Close to the GF's abode. Much better than other Cap Hill offerings. I live in Lower QA with about 6 Thai places near me as well, and I'd say this probably bests all of them as well. 3.50 Maritime Pilsners seal the deal. It's 5 stars for "American" Thai food, if that's what you like.

So Many Thai Food Places on the Hill it can be Sensory overload, but if you haven't gone here yet you are missing out. The service is great .. the food is quick and delicious. I love the spicy noodle, its actually spicy go figure, but i think i have sampled through much of the menu at this point and have had few complaints. Sometimes the the lunch "Specials" are a little interesting , if you have a questions about an item ask before you order. Thank the Pot Sticker Pad Thai for that pearl of wisdom.

HOW DID I GO FROM 5 STARS TO 1?! well, poor fucking service. i came here on a saturday night to have dinner with the boyfriend for our monthaversary :3 and we ordered, laab, phad thai, and something else, i totally forgot. but we got seated, ordered our food. and we waited and we waited...and we waited... then our server came back and asked what we ordered.... after 25 minutes of taking our order the first time.... then we waited... and waited... and WAITED 45 FUCKING MINUTES FOR OUR DUMB SERVER TO EVEN TELL US THAT OUR FOOD WAS "ALMOST" DONE. after about an our, we got our laab, and it was fucking digusting. lack of flavor, it wasn't spicy at all when we ordered it 3 stars. we actually ordered everything 3 stars... and nothing came out spicy. but our first waiter totally ignored us for about 1 hour and another waiter and to come by and let us know what was going on. but it was hella late by then and i was kinda just like "fuck it, im going to pay for this and leave." but then she said our other dishes were ready. and asked us if we still wanted them and i didn't care, i just shrugged my shoulders. our food came, pretty bland, nothing was as special as the first and second time i came here for lunch. horrible. fucking service. horrible. fucking food. i'm still pretty pissed about it after a month or so. i was going to ask to speak to the manager, but our 2nd server brought out our check and they gave us a 20% discount, which was what? 5 dollars off our shitty ass meal. lolok. yeah never going back.

Jamjuree is awesome. There are so many good thai places in the city, which means that I'm sure its hard to stand out. Its not expensive, the people are nice, and the food is really outstanding. ...and more specifically, the TOM-KHA soup with chicken was amazing.

Let me start by admitting that I've only ever had take out from Jamjuree and always the same dish, to which I'm addicted. That said, the massamun curry is a gift from God. It's like Thai maffe. For those not in the know (and I pity you), maffe is an African dish made with meat, root vegetables, and a spicy peanut sauce. I lived for the stuff my six weeks in Senegal. It's hearty, delicious comfort food. Massamun is similarly made with root vegetables and a peanut curry. It's just the thing for a cold, rainy day in this city. This may prove to be the thing I miss most about Capitol Hill once winter rolls around again.

Wow, this experience was lackluster. Will not be going back if I can help it. Went with a friend, ordered two entrees, and an appetizer. Appetizer: Spring Rolls. Decent, and we finished them all. The sauce was nothing special, pretty much your standard cheap corn syrup Entree 1: Tofu / Veggie noodle dish in a hot pot. Tolerable but I didn't want to finish it or take the leftovers home. Too salty, too oily, with nothing really pleasant about it. Good presentation. Entree 2: Tofu / Veggie Phad Thai. Overpowered by shallots, but good presentation. Service: Poor. Decor: Good to very good. Pleasant, clean, plenty of light, pleasant decorations.

Initially, I wasn't a big fan of this restaurant. The food wasn't particularly authentic: I wouldn't go so far as to compare it to Americanized Chinese restaurants that serve such atrocities as Kung Pao Chicken, but the dishes were lacking a few key Thai flavors and tasted cloyingly sweet. We kept going back anyway, because the boyfriend decided it was his favorite place to eat in the city. Here are a few conclusions I've reached: 1) Service during the off hours between lunch and dinner is surly/sleepy. Service during the dinner rush is FANTASTIC, very friendly, upbeat, chatty servers who are vigilant about refilling your water glass to the point of being hovering 2) The food tastes better if you ask for more heat: two stars is usually enough to combat the sweetness without adding too much of a kick 3) The tea is always really good quality tea. During the holiday season they have a fantastic black tea blend- I forget what it's called, but it has peppermint, rose petals and chocolate undertones. Sounds gross, but is SO DELICIOUS. On their every day menu I highly recommend their High Mountain Jasmine tea- some of the best Jasmine tea I've ever had the pleasure of trying. Bottom line: Not authentic but very tasty regardless if you get enough heat, great tea, and great service (during dinner).

A nice, clean restaurant. I had a very limey (is that a word when not applied to Anglo-Saxon sailors with bad teeth?) bowl of tom kah, which really hit the spot. They followed with a nice rendition of pad prik (spicy green beans with green peppers) and that great, fresh brown rice that looks more red than brown (Bhutanese?). The menu is replete with options for vegetarians in the ::your choice of chicken, beef or tofu:: paradigm. Prices are a skosh higher than I'd like to see, but I ruefully agree that if I had a restaurant in the middle of the fancy-pants end of Capitol Hill Seattle I'd probably tack an extra buck onto all of my prices too. I'll definitely try Jamjuree again.

I had better thai food but does that mean you should stay away from jamjuree? definitely not. As far as Seattle goes, I definitely think Jamjuree ranks in the top taste-wise. We went for: - beef panang (basil leaves and bell peppers in thick-red coconut milk curry), - pork showering tamarind (onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, cashew nuts in chili paste and tasty tamarind-fish sauce) - spicy chicken noodle (Pan-fried thick rice noodles with basil leaves, bell peppers carrots, mushrooms, baby corn, and wine) Best dish was the beef panang which was delicious! It was rich and flavorful. The pork showering tamarind was also really good (maybe a bit too much cashews but the flavor was there). Overall, love the place and will definitely come back for more and try the tom yum soup and pad thai.

We had a group of 5 and ordered 4 dishes. There were two ladies and 3 gents so doing it family style with the meal was perfect. Each of the entrées was awesome and we finished every last bit. Out of all of them, the crispy chili chicken was the favorite. Service was friendly and we were pleasantly surprised by the bill. Seemed like a great bang for our buck.

I tend to order my Thai food to go, so I do not have an in-house dining experience review of Jamjuree. I've ordered take out from Jamjuree several times, and have been impressed by the speed and efficiency of having my meal prepared and ready to go in record time. The Pad Kee Mao and Pad See Ew are delicious, but the portions aren't particularly worth the $9 price tag. Jamjuree also has a delicious peanut-based curry and sour soup which are worth ordering. I also like that they offer a rich, flavorful brown rice as an alternative to white rice. Each time I've picked up take out from Jamjuree, the restaurant hasn't appeared very busy, and the atmosphere is a little dark for my taste. If I were to choose in-house Thai food dining, I'd wander down to Broadway for a nicer dining experience.

First of all the food is very delicious and the restaurant is very nice but it is not enough to get more customers when you do not have good service enough. We was there tonight and there is a horrible waitress, she ruin our night, I always eat a lot when I come there but today I did not felling that I was eating my favorite food at all. She has a very bad attitude with the customer when she took my order, ans she kept argue with us about her attitude.even through I come there very often but I still have to say that BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD waitress EVER.

Jamjuree has been my go-to neighborhood Thai take out place for years. It used to be if you asked for three stars, it was plenty spicy. Food always had a lot of flavor and wasn't greasy. I don't know if they got a new chef or what but the past several times I've been the food has been bland and greasy. I noticed they've added some new menu items which leads me to believe there's someone new in the kitchen but I think the food has kind of gone downhill. I got my usual noodle dish tonight, three stars I got a hint of spice at the end but no flavor otherwise. I might have to try the Thai restaurant across the street. Or walk down to Little Uncle. Anyone else in the neighborhood notice a change in their food?

I have to say that I wouldn't necessarily hunt this place down in particular, but for being in the neighborhood it sure served its purpose. The food was good, I had the Pad See You (darn these non-standardized spellings of these dishes!) and was able to taste the Pad Thai as well. Both were OK and hit the spot. I think the tofu may have seen better days, I've had much better but the kidlet actually ate it so that was an amazing feat. They're kid friendly here, which is awesome for me. They brought her out water in a plastic cup with a lid so she didn't spill and that made her a happy camper. The waiter we had was also very nice and quick on the service. The perfect amount of checking on us yet leaving us alone and always making sure our waters were topped off. The seating situation was awkward, but I was appreciative that we were given a seat right away instead of waiting for something that may have accommodated our group more but there really isn't enough room for four people at the freestanding tables. The service was excellent, I just wasn't dazzled by the food this time around.

I often overlook places to eat on 15th and usually just stick to Broadway, but I had just picked up medicine from Group Health and decided to walk down 15th and try out places to eat there.I wasn in the mood from either Indian or Thai, and I passed Jamjuree,so I thought perfect, I'll just get a pad thai there and that would be lunch/dinner. I decided on takeout and went on my merry way, with pad Thai and Thai iced tea in hand. I was almost done with my pad thai while watching TV at home when I bit on something hard. I spit it out, and lo and behold, it was TOENAIL!!!! I FOUND A TOENAIL IN MY PAD THAI!!!!!!! And I hard scarfed down most of the pad thai too. I almost threw,it took all my will to keep my stomach in check. It wasn't a whole toenail, basically someone in the kitchen decided that it was good place to clip their toenails, so a got a toenail clipping, but still, DISGUSTING!! If I was going to rate on food alone, I would've given them a 4, even though the pad thai wasn't as spicy and it was suppose to be (I asked for the max), it was well seasoned and I appreciated the omelette-like ege that came with my meal and the ground peanuts. The Thai iced tea was also pretty good. But the toenail totally ruined everything, if I can take away their stars I would. I would NOT go there again, ever.

Best panang curry outside of Thailand! Not sure why it's so different from all the other panang curries I've had in various Thai restaurants, but here the panang version is thick and concentrated, instead of thin and soupy. So flavors are taken to the next level. The other dishes are wonderful as well. The pad thai here (although not the favorite with many) is actually MY favorite version of this staple of Thai cusine. If you like egg, you'll like the omelet coating your noodles (instead of being stirred in). Elsewhere, my biggest complaint with this dish is that it's often dry, but not here. This is actually the only place I'd even consider ordering the pad thai. If you come for lunch, they'll start you off with a clear vegetable soup. So yummy... I want some right now!

Wow! We were in Seattle near Capitol Hill and were really craving Thai food. Their Special Chicken is out of this world if you love curry! Service and prices were good and the atmosphere is nice. Will be coming back if I am ever in the neighborhood again.

Outstanding noodle dishes (with the exception of the pad thai), great appetizers, soups, and salads, and the stir-fried dishes like the garlic, the basil, and the ginger are fresh and appealing. My personal favorites are the Thai beef salad and the tom kha soup. The tom kha is hearty and slightly sour, as opposed to the sugary mess you find in most Seattle Thai places. Speaking of sugar, avoid the pad thai. Far too sweet. Also, the chicken larb is kind of a sodden mess. It's hard to talk about Jamjuree without mentioning Samui across the street (and vice versa). Samui does a fantastic larb and pad thai, and definitely edges Jamjuree out on the curries. But given the overall strength of Jamjuree's menu and their superior service, it's my preferred Thai food on the hill.

The reviews were a misleading to me... I think my taste of thai food is more closer to MaePhim on pikeSt or Thai Tom at University way.. though I must say the place is pretty clean nice seating arrangement, good service and serves beer n wine. I had the spicy noodle which is actually Phad Kee Mao. The meat wasnt too good but the noodles were alright. In appetizers I had the fish cakes and i dont recommend them as they were too tough and I had a feeling that it was re-fried on order and was already prepared some time in afternoon.

This is my favorite Thia restaurant within walking distance to my house. Maybe on all of Capitol Hill. Okay EVER. Everything here is delicious. My absolute favorite dish is the Pad See Ew. Their sauce is so good, the flavor is perfect, the broccoli and carrots are cooked to perfection always. mmmm...I want some pad see ew right now. Gotta go get some lunch.

If you're in the neighborhood, why not? But don't go out of your way. It is just okay, nothing special. It's clean but not sterile in feeling and was hustling and bustling for a Sunday night. I had some perfectly respectable and crispy fried spring rolls to start and the the spicy noodles as my main. When the noodles first arrived I was really excited because all the different spices and aromas were tickling my nose (the way it does at Thai Tom) and so I braced myself for a similar explosion of flavors. It was okay tasting but had a little bit too much sauce and the noodles were slightly overcooked. Meh. That's a cardinal sin in my book.

This was my first visit to Jamjuree. A fairly large group of us arrived around 11:30am for a birthday lunch. Despite the restaurant being totally empty, the staff kept giving us dirty looks as we waited to order. Food arrived promptly, looked very fresh and nicely arranged, but honestly it was nothing special. I think this place is well liked in the neighborhood because the prices are on the lower side so its a good deal. The service however was just horrible. Literally every single server was rude (when asked for things like, oh you know utensils to eat with.) I could understand if we had been demanding, that would seem reasonable but this was not the case. This experience was just not pleasant or fun so I would not recommend showing up with any kind of expectations.

I came here with four friends during the heat wave, and it was fantastic. The summer rolls were very tasty, and had a refreshing hint of mint in them. The green curry was absolutely delicious, as was the ginger stir fry. My boyfriend adored his Summer Fire special. The service was a bit slow (we were there for about two hours), but they were really busy, so, eh. It wasn't terrible, it just wasn't great. The temperature was comfortable (which is really saying something during the heat wave)--I suspect that they might have air conditioning, but it wasn't on full blast. I'll definitely be going back. Yummmm.

Wow they really exceeded expectations!. This is yet another restaurant we keep forgetting to try but we did that this weekend for my birthday. We were actually supposed to go to Hop Vine next door but the wait was too long and it ended up not being a good space for a big group anyways so we went to my bf's backup plan, Jamjuree. There was already quite a number of people dining but they weren't quite full yet at 7:15 on a Saturday night. They were able to seat 15 of us at a corner table that was the next best thing to a big round table. The service was super efficient especially with so many of us. The wait staff was incredibly attentive and friendly and checked on me a number of times, especially to make sure I had a drink. I even got a candle in a bowl of two scoops of ice cream at the end. Oh yeah and the dinner was awesome too.The servings were nice and generous and the dishes were all really flavorful. Yellow curry chicken is excellent. I can't wait to come back!

Still my favorite Thai place in Seattle. Lunch combo just can't be beat! For $8.50, you get soup, small salad with great dressing, tofu pad thai, brown rice, and you choice of four different dishes. I usually go for the tofu panang curry. Have also tried the red curry as well as the green bean chicken, garlic tofu, and the showering rama. I have never had a bad meal here.

I've only been here for lunch since it's right down the street from where I work. It isn't the best Thai food I've ever had, but it satisfies the craving when the urge comes. I usually get the Lime Light Chicken, I really like the crispy basil leaves that are sprinkled on top. Though sometimes I find that amount of sauce varies day to day. Sometimes my chicken is swimming in the sauce and others it barely has any. The service is alright, sometimes the servers seem a little indifferent.

A pleasant surprise. I've been jaded by the standard cliche of a Thai restaurant that Seattle seems to breed like rabbits--ketchupy pad thai, syrupy sweet curries, and completely predictable menus. This is not that kind of place. It's not going to win any interior design awards, but they serve up good food and have competent service. We came in a group of 20+ people and were squeezed in to an area in the front of the restaurant. I ordered a couple of noodle dishes, a fried fish dish, a red curry with tofu, and larb with pork, a tamarind-sauced dish whose name I'm forgetting at the moment, a shrimp-paste and pork stuffed fried noodle dish, and some ordinary spring rolls. Everything received fairly good reviews from our group, and the price was quite reasonable. Solid.

Visited this little place last weekend with five friends before a night out. My first experience here, and I'm glad to say that it was a good one! I ordered the Pad Thai. Not a very outrageous choice by any means, but one of my favorites. The ingredients all seemed very fresh and looked as though they'd been put together right there and then. We all ordered different meals involving all sorts of combinations. All our dishes looked fantastic and I was especially impressed with the size and quality of the pieces of chicken in my friend's dish. Portion sizes were adequate and so were the prices. I'd much rather payless, eat less and feel less stuffed in North America. Brown rice was just a £1 add on! Most places this would have been at least $2.50. Service was ok, but we did have to wait a few minutes for one of our meals. While a bit annoying, it was good to hear that the outstanding dish was still on the grill, thus quantifying my fresh food theory. I'd definitely go back here. Maybe after I've tried some of the other Thai joints Seattle has to offer, though. Takeout could be a great option here, too, if only I didn't live in Vancouver!

This is a regular in our rotation of take-out dinners, and I probably visit for lunch at least once every 2 months. Most recently we had a vegetarian visitor at our house who reminded me that not only did I need to order the food without pork, chix or beef, I needed to ask them about fish sauce. I did & they assured me they could make any dish without it AND also mentioned they would make sure there was no Oyster Sauce. Color me impressed - I appreciated the attention to detail & so did our guest!

This is one of the best Thai places in Seattle. Although a low key neighborhood place, very reliable great food and great service with reasonable prices. They have probably the best Tom Kha soup and Pad Sew Yew anywhere in town. You can't go

I was a bit disappointed by the food here and I see why other reviewers say they wouldn't go out of their way to eat here. I'm going to have to agree. I came with a small group and no one really enjoyed their dishes much. My phad si iew was good, but it really is a safe dish. The phad thai was lacking a bit of flavor, color (?) and the noodles weren't chewy enough. The beef salad was pretty basic and was drenched in too much fish sauce. It lacked presentation and didn't look too appetizing. Overall, the food was meh. Service was quite good for dinner on a Saturday night. Oh and be prepared to find street parking.

I've been to Jamjuree twice now in a relatively short time and can say this place delivers good flavor, great value, and is really convenient for a small groups. (The latter is especially helpful if you have the misfortune of your friends liking Coastal Kitchen - you can generally steer them a couple of doors down to Jamjuree without much protest.) The staff at Jamjuree is friendly and attentive, the ingredients fresh and well-prepared, and there are a variety of flavors that keep the food from getting boring and that in a group setting allow everyone to find something that works for their tastes. Re: spicy food: spices are on a scale from 1-4 stars. I have a friend who can tolerate no heat at all - and this is a regular place for him because the kitchen will make "0 stars" dishes that are still quite flavorful. My wife often orders "2 stars" spicy in most Thai restaurants, and she says the spices here add just enough heat to be interesting. If you want your order to be really spicy though, 4 stars doesn't cut it. Fortunately, Jamjuree does an excellent job of accommodating palates that prefer higher heat. I find that asking for "7 stars" does the job nicely. That gets my mouth tingling, my sinus passages cleared, perhaps one or two tears of joy, and yet is still short of nuclear. The combination of flavors at this level is still subtle, as opposed to some restaurants which just dump in a bunch of pepper and hope for the best. All in all, great flavor, great value, and great service.

Food: GREAT! the food was amazing and the portion size was very good. We had the pineapple curry and loved it. Service: BAD! It has a lot to be desired. I ordered a drink and it never was delivered. I ran out of water during the meal and they never refilled. Basically, after delivering the food the next time we got service was delivery of the bill.

The first time I was here I scoured the menu to find something that did not have bell peppers listed as an ingredient because I didn't want to appear to be the picky betch that I am. Plik king with chicken fit my request. Unfortunately the kitchen decided to add bell peppers to my dish with out asking me if it was ok. The good thing is as soon as I mentioned something to our waiter he removed the dish from in front of me and quickly returned with a new plate sans bell peppers. A few weeks ago I was back in the area with someone who was hungry for Thai food, so in we went. I decided a curry sounded good, panang curry with chicken NO BELL PEPPERS. The waiter repeated panang curry with chicken no bell peppers. Guess what it came out with what appeared to be double bell peppers. Again I grab the waiter and tell him that I had asked for NO BELL PEPPERS, my dish is quickly removed and with in minutes a new dish in brought out to me sans the bell peppers. The food was ok once I received it sans the nasty, disgusting, vomit inducing bell peppers but I think I can say I won't be coming back here for Thai food any time soon. A third time will not be a charm for me I'm not willing to risk it. I hate giving them 2 stars but they aren't A-OK by me it's true it's Meh. I've experienced better.

Went for lunch and thought the specials were nicely priced and the flavors were good, but didn't enjoy their fried tofu, which was pretty much an empty crispy shell. Also, the peanut sauce on the Bathing Rama was very good, but I thought the spinach was pretty watery and tasteless. The small side of Pad Thai was fairly unremarkable, although I liked the inclusion of fried egg. Overall, service was good, atmosphere pleasant and food enjoyable.

YUM! Just got back from dinner here, and I loved every bite. I didn't see it on the menu, but I asked for a papaya salad and it was probably one of the best that I've had around here. Also had the trout, the "special chicken", and some other dish. All were excellent. We like our food spicy, and ordered 4-stars, but it wasn't that hot. If you're looking for a spicy meal, I would recommend 5-stars. I have to say though, I wasn't disappointed with lack of heat; the other flavors were more satisfying. The atmosphere is pretty relaxing. We sat at the raised table in the back so it felt private without feeling secluded.

This place faintly smells of a bathroom that was just used and the person that had used it sprayed air freshener to try to disguise the mess they left behind. Not really a great smell to be introduced to when walking into a restaurant. When I went to the bathroom it smelled better in there than the rest of the place. Weird. I also had issues opening the door but that is another story. I can forgive the terrible smell. Onto the food. I am a huge curry girl especially of the yellow persuasion. I decided to go with the yellow curry with tofu and brown rice. It wasn't bad. I could have it again if necessary but I have certainly had better (from the Thai place down the street and from this great Thai place in Georgetown). Anyhow, it is what it is if you know what I'm saying. Probably not but stay with me. I don't discourage anyone from trying this place but hopefully your nostrils get slammed with a better smell than mine did when walking in.

Hmm- I have to say that my experience here at Jamjuree knocked off my local favorite Thai place from my number two spot. Thanks to really warm and hospitable service, GREAT food- have to say that the massaman and phad thai are some of the best I've had; and a GREAT aquarium...which distracted my kiddo long enough for my wife and I to enjoy our yummy food. I will definitely come back.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! very friendly staff. The low lighting makes it a soothing serene place to go on a date. Food is amazing best Thai food i ever had! Love The Panang curry and Pad see u, their Thai iced tea is the best of the best! I come here at least once a month is GREAT!

Although I went in for take-out, I thought the place looked very nice. I'd come dine in here sometime or sit at the bar. The service was really friendly and professional. I ordered the Rama noodle and it was good quality and tasty. I didn't order until I got there but didn't have to wait very long (I read two newspaper articles). I think the peanut sauce could have been a little more "peanuty" but overall I was really happy with the meal. The price for an entree is definitely reasonable, but start adding on appetizers and some tasty coffee or tea then it's more mid-priced or so, but worth it. I'll definitely be going back and spreading the word.

Really, don't go here. My Tom Yum soup was filled with two types of unidentifiable vegetables that could only be described as a combination of celery and wood chips. It might have killed me or ripped my esophagus. SO I put it aside and ate my spring rolls and the the fourth roll ALSO had something unidentifiable and dangerous that I had to spit out. I couldn't fihure out the discrepancy in reviews for this place. 90% of people LOVE this place and the rest are disgusted. Maybe there is ONE guy, related to the owner, who works on Wednesday nights who cooks a few choice menu items and is just plain hell-bent on killing someone someday.

I went there for my friend's 3-0 bday, and we had a fun time, but if you're looking for an authentic Thai restaurant, I would not recommend this place. Pros: generous portions, friendly wait staffs, good ambiance Cons: Too much sauce in food, and sometimes too sweet, salty, or sour!

I am super-excited to find a solid Thai restaurant so close to my apartment. The interior seemed pleasant and clean, and the atmosphere not at all obnoxious. After being advised to avoid the Pad Thai, I ordered the Spicy Noodle dish. It tasted wonderful, not too spicy and maybe just a little too oily. They do seem to tame down their spice levels -- the second spiciest option was spicy enough to bite yet allowed the flavor to still come through. The service stayed out of the way -- my order was taken quickly and the food arrived within a reasonable amount of time. Warning: Saturday nights tend to be pretty busy, as expected. Plan accordingly if you want the best seat!

I'm gonna keep this review quick and to the point. Excellent Thai food, my 2nd. favorite Thai place in the Seattle area! (1st. is Mali Thai in Tukwila.....I know Tukwila???? Just trust me) Everything I've had here is Great! The decor is nice and the location is perfect as well. The only thing to note is that it can take a while to get your food so come prepared for a bit of a wait. I can assure the wait is due solely to the popularity of this spot!

What a great place to fulfill the desires of a craving AND introduce someone to Thai food! This was Ryan's first encounter with Thai food (he's a slow taster/tester who takes his time to get into certain foods - very slow food movement dude!), so we were really careful in choosing the restaurant that would deliver the welcome fanfare to a gastronomical Thai experience for him. After reading several reviews, and due to the walking-distance advantage Jamjuree has for us, we headed to this fantastic Capitol Hill restaurant. The decor is nice and inviting, with dim-lights and some Thai furniture. The place itself is spacious and comfortable. We were seated right after entering the place, and it took us two seconds to figure out the service was going to be thoughtful, quick and cheerful. The waitstaff looked efficient and perfectly in charge of the place and patrons. We were surprised on how busy the place was for a Sunday night. After getting our glasses of water and the peanut bowl, we ordered a couple of Singhas (Thai beer that I love) and proceeded to study the menu. I was careful with the spiciness level, as I always do when I visit a Thai place for the first time. That's why I recommended Ryan to try up to level two, just in case. I ordered a Tom-kha with prawns and he asked for the spring rolls. Our entrees were Pad-Thai with chicken for me (I wanted my love to try everything, so I went for the sure shots) and for him, the beef Fried Rice. The Tom-kha was memorable. Perfect amounts of everything! The citric level was the right one, lots of prawns/lemongrass/galanga/cabbage/mushrooms made it rich and delicious. The spring rolls were good, crispy and light, and the garlic sweet-and-sour sauce delicious. Ryan liked everything at that point, which made me very happy. But what took Ryan's breathe away was his fried rice, even though he's willing to try it spicier next time (it was very mild). I got to try a little, and boy, that rice was GOOD! It had plenty of beef, which was perfectly cooked and, by far, it was one of the tastiest I've had in any Asian restaurant for a long time. My Pad-Thai was solid, a bit on the sweet side for me taste that night. When it got to the table I was so full already (dishes are big), I had less than 1/3 of it and ordered it to go. My surprise was that this Pad-Thai tasted SO good the next day, I even "distributed" these leftovers to get to eat a bit today. Yes, this dish was the kind that gets better with aging. But be careful, peeps! Never, ever, let any kind of food to stay in your fridge for more than 48 hours. What tastes delightfully good for (tops) two days, can become a terrible nightmare for your stomach if older than this. We will definitely go back to this place. I'm in the crusade of turning Ryan into a Thai food lover, and the first effort payed off! Many thanks Jamjuree!

We went here after a day of sightseeing. It has the feel of a college town restaurant. I had tumeric noodle - it was amazing. I LOVE curry and this was so delicious I couldn't put my chopsticks down. SO good. My husband had pad ki mao; he thought it was not the best, but still tasty. My sister-in-law had the limelight chicken. It looked really good - I think she enjoyed it. Our waitress looked harried and wasn't entirely pleasant, but it appeared that they were short-handed. Overall, the portions are large and reasonably priced. Wish I could go again, but we're so far away :(

I sure do like Jamjuree! If I had a list of favorite Thai joints, it would be up there. Very prompt when it comes to to-go orders if you call ahead, which is very nice! Not a bad place to sit and dine-in at, but I generally get mine to-go. My only complaint is that I don't love their pad thai. No matter - I just don't order it, instead opting for something else on their fabulous menu!

When I first moved to the hill a few years ago, this place was just okay. Fortunately over the years it has gotten more delicious. My only complaint is that the last few times I called my order in, I came in and paid, and waited for 7-10 minutes, watching a pile of to-go orders sit on the counter. When finally notifying staff that I was still waiting (and probably looking irritated), they pull my order from the pile I had been looking at. When a pick up order is paid for, they should check on your order, no matter how busy they are. By the time I got my food it was a little dry and only warm. I would have given four stars, but having managed restaurants, I had to take off one star for the oversight. This is not a common thing, and I hope it doesn't become one, because I love this little place.

I've had a lot of thai food in my life, so it's very rare that a particular place makes traditional favorites that catch my attention--but that's exactly what Jamjuree did! Almost as soon as I sat down, a waitress came with a small vegetable broth soup and a small salad. This is one of the few times I've had complimentary apps at a Thai place. Both were surprisingly delicious-- soup was flavorful and light and the salad was simple and yummy. But the real fireworks happened when I got my combo with tofu pad thai and chicken panang curry. First of all, this was the most interesting looking pad Thai I've ever had. It came looking like an omelette, with a crepe-like egg wrapped around the noodles. It sat on top of a mound of fresh bean sprouts. There was a side of crushed peanuts as well. The pad Thai was a perfect balance of salty, sweet, acidic (from the fresh lime and tamarind), and crunchy. The egg added a nice, almost meatiness in addition to the tofu, which soaked up so much of the flavors. The noodles were perfectly moist without drowning in sauce. YUM. The panang was also great--namely the chicken in it. I'm always reluctant to order chicken breast in Thai (and most other) restaurants, especially when they're stewed in soup or thick sauces, because I've been disappointed SO many times by how dry and nasty it CAN become. I took a chance on Jamjuree and they did not disappoint--the chicken breast strips were moist and succulent (omg finally!) The panang was rich and smooth from the coconut milk and seasoned really well. It came with a side of brown rice. All this was $9.95 and it was a generous portion. It can easily be split into two meals--if you can hold out on emptying this plate! Good work Jamjuree, I'm a fan!

My friend and I got the Pad See Ew and the Pad Thai. Usually, I'm a Pad See Ew person but I liked their pad thai a lot more. For some reason, their pad see ew was really really oily. Like dripping oil. However, their pad thai was spot on! Not oily at all and not too sweet either (some places tend to sweeten it way too much).

Jamjuree didn't really shine for us tonight. Maybe I just have specific taste preferences for Thai food. Jamjuree is located in Capitol Hill along with the many other shops/restaurants. It's also a short walk to Bakery Nouveau (yum!). We came here on a Friday night and there were a couple tables open. The place itself is modern and clean. It's dim lit and offers quite a few tables. The tables are pretty spaced out so you don't feel crammed or anything. The spice level here ranges from 1-4 stars. We decided to go with the classic pad thai and pad kee mao. Pad kee mao with tofu - The interesting thing about the tofu add in is that you can either get it soft or crispy. I thought this was a unique touch since most of the time it's usually soft tofu. I went with the soft although I'm sure crispy might interest some people. This kee mao also comes with baby corn and mushrooms, two veggies I normally don't see in kee mao. However, they were well cooked and seasoned so I was pleased. The dish itself had a strong flavor and it wasn't overly salty. The only thing that really turned me off was that it was the greasiest and oiliest pad kee mao I've ever had. It was just dripping and piling underneath all the noodles. Pad thai with chicken - The unique twist on this pad thai is that is automatically comes with tofu by default and it comes with a fried egg! I've never seen pad thai come with an egg before. It's nice that you get two kinds of protein on this dish although the tofu pieces are not the same as the ones you would get if you chose it as your protein add in. Unfortunately, this pad thai was disappointing. It didn't taste like pad thai to me. We got this at 4 stars (maximum spiciness) and this thing was so sweet. It tasted like sweet chili oil noodles. Honestly, if I was blindfolded and fed a forkful of this dish, I would not even consider pad thai as a potential option. The flavor was pretty light so it didn't have a very strong taste. The fried egg was cooked well and the chicken pieces were tender. Portion size here is big. My partner and I both couldn't finish the kee mao and the pad thai. So for the price ($9-10 each) seems fair for the amount you get. Service was also pretty good. Our waitress was kind and attentive. Our water was refilled when empty and we were given our boxes togo and check promptly. Maybe the noodle dishes we ordered just aren't the shining dishes here. Who knows! All I know is that it was too greasy and too sweet.

I'm so excited about this place I couldn't even wait until leaving the restaurant to write a review! :) The Pad Thai is delicious! Absolutely delicious. I had to hold myself back from eating the whole plate so I could enjoy some more tomorrow for lunch as leftovers. It looked like the dish had some caramelized onions in it...and I don't know what else that made it so savory and rich with the perfect amount of sweetness to it. The amount of sauce was perfect which also contributed to the fullness and sense of completeness to this dish. Spice range is from 0 to 10. I chose 1, because Spicey food doesn't sit well with me. The dish was served and made to the spice level I requested and was very mild (pretty much no spiciness which is what I wanted). Note: The sauce is not made with fish sauce. The sauce is also not gluten free (due to the soy sauce). But the noodles are gluten free rice noodles, of course. I want to move closer to this neighborhood just so I can dine here more frequently and easily. Yum!

We had some tasty take-away, Green Curry, Spring Rolls and steamed rice. Great size portions, good service and about 30 mins to prep on a Sunday evening. Good local Thai

The curry here is great if you like thick, slow-cooked curry. The curry here has obviously been cooked for a long time at low heat. If you get the yellow curry, you can tell that it's been cooked with potato long enough for the potato to dissolve and give the sauce a sweet, rich, flavor. IMO, this is one of the few reasons to order curry at a thai place, since you can make the other kind of curry yourself with cocunut milk, curry paste, and a few other ingredients in less time than it takes to find parking at a thai place around here. The complementary salad that comes with dishes here is a nice touch. Very simple, but well done. It's light and fresh, which is a nice contrast to places that use a cloyingly heavy sauce. If I had any foodie cred I'd loose it all by saying that the larb here is too authentic for me. It's very heavy on the fish sauce. That's great if you're into that kind of thing, but TBH I prefer it when it's lighter on the fish sauce and heavier on the lime flavor.

We went here for dinner on friday night as a family of 8. We had reservations and they have saved us a nice corner table so that we had the space to ourselves. The servers were attentive but maybe a little too anxious and came and asked us for our order 3 times in 3 minutes until we finally caved in. They also brought out the appetizers and entrées all together which was kind of messy. Appetizers: The Tom-kha was outstanding, both the tofu and the chicken. It was probably one of the nicest most flavorful thai soups I've had in Seattle. Extremely flavorful and not super creamy or sweet, it was just right. The Hot Wings were a pleasant surprise. I'm always a sucker for chicken wings and more often than not I"m disappointed. They were very nicely cooked, sweet and sour and sticky. Nothing hot or spicy about them but delicious nevertheless. Would have liked them to be crisp though instead of soggy but I guess that's hard with asian style wings in thick sauces. The Chicken Sa-tay was very average. I'd probably skip it. Entrées: The Pad Si Ew with pork was spot on. Extremely flavorful with that charred smokiness, not over seasoned like most places, deliciously tender noodles and meat. Overall a great dish. The chicken Pa-nang curry was pretty nice too. I wish there was more curry though and that they served it in a bowl instead of a flat plate which wastes a lot of it. The brown rice was really nice and very different from what most other asian restaurants serve. The white rice was average. The Tamarind Chicken and Green Bean Chicken were just average and all you could taste was salt and tang. No body to the sauces or flavor to the chicken. I would avoid these. Dessert: The Sweet Sticky Rice and Mango which was the seasonal special dessert was really really good. We split one in 8 people and it was just right. A couple of bites to leave the palate feeling satiated. Overall the food was really good except a couple of dishes. The service is a little over-eager but that's still preferable to no service. The place is definitely a little pricey considering the portions. Overall solid thai food, a clean restaurant with a nice ambiance. Definitely will go back again and recommend this place.
