This place is really, really, REALLY terrible. I mean it. We went for "happy hour" and ate: chips and salsa (by far the worst salsa I have ever had. It was literally just canned tomato juice), one bean enchilada, and one chicken taco. For $13. The enchilada had NO FLAVOR AT ALL--which blew my mind! I have never, ever had flavorless Mexican food before. But the worst part? The service! Our waitress seemed unbelievably pissed that we were there for happy hour and let us know it. She slammed everything (menus, silverware, napkins, drinks...) down and was downright rude. We still tipped, but we got the hell out of there (rough crowd) and walked to get delicious gyros since we were both still starving. The worst part? Lake City Gyros was cheaper--by a lot (and incredibly delicious!). Save yourself! Do not eat here!

Typical Mexican Restaurant - excellent food, varied service. I love the quesadillas. I also love the smooth capability which some servers exhibit. HOT SAUCE

My sisters and I have been going to this Jalisco pretty regularly for at least 12 years now. Having recently moved to the east coast, I make a point of eating here once every visit. I'm really a ground beef kinda gal when it comes to your standard Mexican restaurant, and I haven't found another restaurant yet that does it better than this one. It's obvious they don't lean on tomato sauce for this, or any other sauce for that matter. My husband always gets the carne asada, and it's always tender and just plain delicious. Tacos al carbon are also a family fave, and my daughter will even eat the accompanying rice (ok, I admit it's hard to find bad rice in most any Mexican restaurant). The staff is friendly, fast, and the prices are what you would expect to pay. If this is what you want, then sit your arse down and enjoy.

Im sorry, but I cannot eat here again. My expectations were very low having been here many times in the past and this was even worse. No flavor, long wait, waste of my eat-out money. sad face :(

I seem to always find myself here on a Tuesday night half an hour before they close. I get the same waiter on every visit and he's always welcoming and has never rushed my friends and I to order quickly so they can close on time. Great service + Excellent food = 5 Star Rating.

Jalisco's is a nice place for a late night meal and a cocktail. They are very friendly and always make you feel comfortable and at home. The food is pretty good, not the best in the west, but certainly not the worst either. The portions are HuYUGE! Best in Lake City anyway!

Once again a Mexican place in Seattle that doesn't use queso fresco and opts for cheddar cheese, uses store brand taco shells, has ground beef and can't differentiate between a beef burrito and beef enchilada. I think I have to blame Seattlites for not knowing good from bad Mexican food. Still though, these Mexican places know what's what and they don't offer it so the blame is on them. Hence a 2 star review.

Came here for cinco de mayo, and surprisingly was sat after only a 5 minute wait! While waiting I went to the bar and got some happy hour drinks, which were strong and really yummy! The food was delicious. We barely saw our server (busy - understandable) but we had a great busser in our section that took care of everything else. We'll be back to check it out again. I want to try some more of those margaritas!

HAY CHIHUAHUA!!! Nice portions. Good food. Parking lot. Full on bar. What more could you ask for? A tall handsome Latino waiter? We had that too today. I recommend it. As we walked in, we got the traditional CHIPS & SALSA; but, they also gave us their PICO DE GALLO. Yum. I had the BURRITO lunch (get there before 3pm) for $6.50. It came with RICE, BEANS, sour cream (I got that on the side) and guacomole. Nice. Good food. Good service. Cute :)

I used to live in Lake City and probably frequented this place a dozen or so times. I've always been impressed. Food - very good. I never walked away dissapointed. Atmosphere - Cozy, authentic Mexican. Good to me. Drinks - Great! They absolutely make the best margaritas. Stiff, large, tasty, and CHEAP! My favorite part. Location - For Lake City...it's pretty good. Staff - Very nice Overall a great little Mexican joint.

Not the best Mexican in town. But I have dined at this particular Jalisco hundreds of times over the last 20 years, and I don't ever remember having a bad experience. Always speedy too! They get 5 stars from me!

My favorite mexican. Mole is incredible. Shrimp fajita burritos great big shrimp! Service is attentive and friendly. Could be the best mexican restaurant north of the rio grande.

It's like Azteca. I like Azteca. 'Nuff said. Pure comfort food in a style that's familiar, if not authentic.

This is a standard Mexican restaurant with good service and fair prices. Jalisco's serves sour cream and guacamole complimentary with most dishes, whereas other restaurants will charge extra. The pico de gallo they serve with the salsa and chips is delicious. I have never had anything like it anywhere else. Last time I went there, I had the chicken fajitas and they were tasty. But, the tortillas that come with them were not very good. They were thin and not very warm.

    (3)
  • Suzann P.

Total dive, but, its what passes for family friendly in Lake City. Pico de Galo is the best. Everything else is moderate americanized mexican food with tons of yellow cheese. But the margaritas are huge, the staff super friendly, and the perfect thing when you want beans, meat, cheese, lettuce and tortilla in some formulation.

I have been to Jaliscos a couple times now, The drinks are good and everything is very cheap for the portions you get. The staff are very attentive and very polite. I love the food there. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is very hungry for authentic mexican food.

My husband and I have been eating here together for four years. My husband has been eating here for probably ten years. We keep coming back because everything is good! There is a gentleman that always remembers my husband's order (we don't know his name, we call him "the homie" because he's our Jalisco buddy. Example- "Oh good, the homie is our waiter!" ) and remembers it even if we don't come in for months. I order either a single cheese enchilada with a side of flour tortillas I normally get the corn tortillas but their flour tortillas are good) and, if I'm feeling saucy, a Roy Rogers. Sometimes I get the spinach enchilada. My husband orders three chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. Everything is good, and I mean everything. In summation- Pros- Good food, fast service, friendly people, decent prices Cons- back lot is difficult to park in, front parking is too Despite the one small con, it is still the best Mexican food and we will keep coming back until we are old and grey, or the restaurant closes, whichever comes first.

I love love Jalisco. Their Carne Asada is the tastiest I've ever eaten. I don't know what they marinate the meat in, but it is so flavorful and yummy. Make no mistake, this is American-Mexican food. But if you want an awesome, kid-friendly Mexican place, this is it. It's all fresh and tasty.

  • Angela B.

Hands down one of my favorites and never go wrongs for great food, and excellent service! I have been coming here for almost 14 years and have never been disappointed! The service is friendly fast and the prices are reasonable. The chips and salsa and pico are always great. The drinks are strong and I have never been disappointed with the food!

Coming from California it was imperative that I find a good Mexican food restaurant. I thought this might be a daunting task for 2 reasons:1 THIS IS SEATTLE 2.THIS IS SEATTLE, and 5 months into my move not so good luck. Until that first day at Jaliscos and that awesome tortilla soup and Cadillac margarita.....SO TASTY...... But the best part about this place is that is directly next door. YES GOOD CHOICE ON A CONDO!!!!!!!

Margaritas son muy fuerte! Fuerte como un toro. Fuerte como un Timoteo borracho! Me gusta la comida tambien. Las enchiladas espinacas fue muy bien. Y nuestra camarero fue muy simptico. **Warning: I know Spanish on about the same level as a 6 year old. I apologize if I accidentally offended your mother or sister in this review.

The downside of this place is that it's hard to see, so it's not something that people naturally think of when we brainstorm where to eat. Now I have a buddy who enjoys Mexican food and will always go out for Mexican food on his birthday. Living like 2 blocks away, we decided it was expedient to come here. He assured us that it was the same as the other Jalisco, which meant little to nothing to me as I have been to neither. The restaurant itself is deceptively large, it seems a lot bigger on the inside than on the outside, which is nice. It had kind of that Azteca family feel, which I say in the best way possible. The food was good, nothing out of this world, but good and the portions hearty. The free chips and salsa were nice too. A good fresh pico de gallo and homemade salsa, not the kick I typically enjoy in salsa, but hey, you can't go wrong with fresh salsa. All in all, a good place to grab a bite with a friend. Also very friendly wait-staff (well, our server kept calling us amigos, so that was cool).

Love this place, been a regular here for years. My friends and family celebrate our birthdays here yearly. Martin is the best just love these folks

Dos Equis Amber on tap. Tequila on the shelf. What more do you need for a spot to make you forget you dealt with dirtbags all day at work? It is a perfect spot for an after work attitude adjustment. Chips and pico are good not great. Food is standard chain Mexican fare... nothing special. It serves its purpose.

I guess if you were looking for good pure mexican food with margaritas this would be the place to come to. But if you were just looking for pure mexican food, I'll go ahead and send you over to Tacos Trucks all over seattle.(The one on Greenwood, and 145th is AMAZING). Anyways back on topic. Like people said everything is soooo...hmppphh...how can I say this without sounding so stupid. Everything is sooo MEXICAN. You would think from that its some Americanized commercialized small Azteca, but this restaurant is full of GOODNESS. This restaurant never fails me. Drinks are amazing and service is good. On top of that...Compared to other dine-in mexican restaurants, this place is CHEAP! This is definately one of those restaurants that you would want to take your family to on a friday night.

I had an Entertainment Book discount card, so that, plus all the good reviews on Yelp encouraged me to try this place. Boy, was I disappointed. The chips and slaw was tasty, and the service was quick & friendly, but that is about all the good I can say about my meal. I had a cheese & bean enchilada platter, my partner had beef enchilada/rellenos combo plate. If we we're blindfolded and had our plates switched I doubt we would have know the difference. The food was completely bland and swimming in a nondescript sauce, not even salt and hot sauce could redeem it. My beans had a slightly scorched taste to them. The rellenos weren't the egg dipped peppers they should be, they were just omelets wrapped around some diced peppers. For dessert I ordered a mexican hot chocolate, hoping for a rich, spicy chocolate experience. Instead, I got a standard too sweet cocoa mix sprinkled with some cinnamon and topped with reddi whip. Unless I suffer some affliction that makes me crave tasteless, textureless, sopping plates of food, I won't be returning.

We're fairly regular diners at Jalisco. It's nothing incredibly special, but we can usually count on average to better food and service. Unfortunately, tonight they fell really short. My taco, tostada, enchilada combination was completely dry. I'm not sure if they ran out of sauce or what. They were generous with the shredded chicken, but the white meat was overdone and dry and without any sauce, everything just felt like straw. My husband's seafood enchiladas were also very dry, even though his dish was supposed to come with a white sauce. And something was very off with the tortillas--they were extra thick and crumbly. I think next time, I'll stick with Las Margaritas or Luisa's.

  • Jennifer G.

Decent food and stiff drinks. This is a good place to go if you're in the area, craving meat in a tortilla, and/or need to take the edge off with a margarita (or two). Bonus points: my friend was wearing a shirt that said "Buristas go home" and the waitress stopped to inform us that "burista" means cheerleader in Spanish. We then chatted about annoying cheerleaders, tourists (the shirt *used* to say "Turistas go home" - the waitress thought that was even more funny, thank god), and illegal immigration (the waitress was very vocal about these "lazy Mexicans," hence her amusement at the t-shirt). The food gets three stars, the drinks make it three-and-a-half, and "Turistas go home" makes it four. Good luck with those t-shirts, Jalisco waitress!

Replacement-level mexican place. Price reasonable. Friendly, reasonably attentive service. I thought their Mexican rice and refried beans were pretty uninspiring, but overall the food was totally decent.

First impression: standard, run-of-the-mill Americanized Mexican. After dinner: IMPRESSED. I really like their meat. The way they cook it, the spices and the flavor melding. It's right near our house and I was so excited that we found a good Mexican restaurant within 5 minutes. The waiter made us feel right at home. I will definitely be trying their bar. I will be back for sure.

I enjoy going to Jalisco for several reasons: 1) It's within walking distance of my apartment. 2) Decent prices for very large portions. 3) Awesome margaritas. 4) The owner always recognizes me and my boyfriend and greets us like family. It's a great place to go for better-than-okay Mexican food. The atmosphere can get a little distracting and loud when they're busy, but it's usually fine.

I've been to this restaurant several times and it's honestly nothing special. It is decent Mexican food and I would certainly eat it again, but don't go in expecting something amazing because you won't find it. The service is somewhat lacking. The last time I went, my friend and I were seated in a booth around a corner where no other groups were sitting, which made it difficult to flag our waitress down when we needed her. Our waitress seemed very nice, but didn't speak English well at all. While I've studied Spanish for 9 years, I'm still pretty petrified of using my language skills and being tagged as a gringa with an awful accent. So I played dumb and ordered my meal in English. However, this made it a little difficult since I had a question for her about my tostada....and she didn't understand what I was saying at all. I eventually gave up (mostly because she moved on to taking my friends order) and figured it'd be fine. Also, once you receive your food, they often don't check in to see if you need anything else, which is frustrating. Maybe it was because we were in an "out of sight, out of mind" booth around a corner. Also, the food is rather pricey in my opinion for what you get. Most of the meals topped $10, which I felt was a lot higher than most Mexican places with similar portions and food. That makes the place a bit of a turnoff. I will most likely go here again, but simply because my friend and I like to meet and have Mexican together. And because there are almost no decent restaurants in Lake City at all...and really, not that many restaurants period.

Usually go here because we have a coupon. Always good service and consistently good food. Order a margarita with fresh squeezed lime (I think they usually use the mix), YUM!

    (4)
  • Erik M.

Pretty good mexican food, seems to be a pretty good value for the money. They often have margherita specials, and the drinks were fairly good, certainly not the best I've ever had. Everything was tasty, and the wait staff seemed on top of things. Great for take out too, they always give you tons of chips.

  • Kyle S.

my favorite place to eat. The servers are beyond friendly and the amount of food you get is massive. I suggest the carne asada with a big margarita.

I've been going every couple of months for the last few years. I love this place and always tell friends about it.

Worst burrito ever. A shrimp burrito that had two shrimp. Loaded with refried beans. Amazing. Very poor. Never go there again. It was May 5th, so it was a zoo, but they still charged me their regular price, not their, oh my god we are swamped and can't give you good food price.

  • Chris S.

The new owner of this place is a great gentleman. Food is fast, place very clean, reasonably priced. I eat there about once every other week. If you are looking for a smaller dish, try their sandwiches. Great price, delicious! New furniture, replaced those uncomfortable chairs outside.

  • Jean C.

I've been going there for years and so enjoy the delightful service and hot food. All the waiters are so very nice and recognize you when you come in - you can ask for a booth too. I have only had one unfortunate lunch there once when there were noisy small children running and squeeling and no one stopped them. Their mexican food is yummy! - a 10 compared to Azteca's zero!!

    (4)
  • Yoshi S.

Run of the mill Tex-mex but much better then a Azteca. The servers are friendly and courteous. Which brings this place from a 2 star to a 3.

-it's SUPER close to where i live -the food is excellent (not so. cal. excellent but excellent for this state!!!)... try the enchiliadas, the flautas, and especially the tortilla soup!! -heavily poured and yummy tasting margaritas... and i can walk home i

Good Margaritas, plenty of food and a nice atmosphere. If you want to get stuffed and/or drunk this is the place to go in Lake City.

For Mexican food, Jalisco's is a pretty run of the mill place. They have the usual fare for a sit down Mexican Restaurant such as enchiladas, fajitas, burritos and the like. The quality of the food is good, the price is reasonable, the service is generally prompt and they are quick about refilling your free chip bucket and salsas. Overall, I doubt that anyone would say that Jalisco's is their absolute favorite place for Mexican food, but it's reliably decent.

    (3)
  • Heedy L.

Muy bien! I've been there twice so far and the food and service have been excellent! Even when they are slammed the servers keep their cool and your order is taken in a timely manner. I love the pico de gallo they serve with the salsa and chips. This place does not skimp! Other restaurants will charge extra for sour cream and guacamole, Jalisco's will serve it complimentary with most dishes. Another plus! Once you dine here, Azteca and other chains will be a distant memory!

  • Queen B.

My husband & I use to go here more than a few times when we lived in Lake City... Good food/ reasonably priced/ staff is nice. and the Sangria is the BEST I've ever had/ taste so organic & homemade... They make it so deelish here :]] Their karaoke / bar section during the weekend gets hella crunk here... lol.. even the waiters join in. Its like yr. going to someone's house party in a hacienda w/ great dinner... a good place to go eat at. During the day its nice & laid back too tho which is cool.

    (4)
  • Marie R.

Had another wonderful meal at Jalisco's. Once again, Martin was most hospitable & everything was just perfect. Our permanent "Go to" place to relax & enjoy at an affordable price :oD

  • Tiffany Valentine W.

Casual low-key Mexican restaurant with better tasting food than Azteca. Pros: - The serving size is more than enough (quite large) as is expected of most Mexican restaurants. - The chips and salsa taste fresh - Casual ambiance great for children - Cheaply priced Cons: - Poor location. Lake City Way is a sketchy neighborhood which may deter more affluent customers from being willing to try this place.

    I mean...it was alright, nothing special...probably won't return.

My second time being here. I realize that my first time was mostly judged based on my happy mood and family reunion. This time, I realized the food is a bit mediocre. I've had some seafood enchiladas at other places, and they're always heavenly, filled with fresh juicy seafood. These were tiny and the seafood tasted dry and not fresh. I was disappointed, although the spices were good. The service is always quick and super friendly! Nonetheless, our drinks got mixed up. For a Mexican restaurant that serves alcohol, one thing that has to be on point, is Margarita of course. Here it's just like the one you get from the bottle pre-mixed, and very very watered down. Please invest in margarita glasses, no one enjoys drinking an authentic drink from a plastic beer glass. As I'm writing all this, I'm not sure why I'm giving this place 3 stars, I thing the 3 stars go to the friendly and hardworking servers. They're awesome! I really hope next time I come here they will step it up a little, it's not a block away from my house, yet it's not a place that comes up when we want to eat out.

  • Alana P.

Known them since I was two years old. They are always like family. The food? Amazing.

    (5)
  • Ben B.

Burritos have too much beans & rice, not enough beef. Margaritas had very little alcohol.

    (3)
  • Tachini P.

Very clean, stereotypical Mexican restaurant decor and atmosphere with pleasant friendly service. The food overall, is worthy of a upper tier Mexican food choice among those in surrounding neighborhoods.

    (4)
  • Arial W.

Because Jalisco's is located near my office, my coworkers and I go here fairly often for group lunches. The food is always consistantly good and the service is excellent. The serving sizes are large and the Margaritas are just ok compared to some other places. I think the best part of coming here is honestly the pico de gayo!

  • Karl H.

I was in the mood for Mexican food and saw that this place had pretty decent reviews so a friend and I decided to try it last week. We walked in only to be met by one of the most hostile glares I've ever seen. Literally as soon as we walked in the Hostess looked at us like we'd just killed her cat. She stormed off to the back of the restaurant and left us standing there. We stood waiting for nearly 10 minutes but she never came back. Eventually we said heck with it and went to El Norte down the street. The service isn't great their either but at least you can get a table! I know people have bad days (had a few myself) but it was not a great first impression. I doubt I'll go back.

  • Amy G.

Consistently awesome! Great authentic Mexican food. Wonderful service, and an excellent selection on their menu! I highly recommend the chicken fajitas and the chili verde. The Cadillac margaritas do not disappoint. This has become my "go to" Mexican restaurant! Keep up the great service and delicious food!

    (5)
  • Lucy L.

Ok Mexican food, but nothing to write home about. They have pretty good service. As other reviewers have mentioned, their portion sizes are pretty large, so beware if you have a petite-sized appetite. Stop by if you're in the neighborhood, but its probably not worth a trip out of your way.

    (3)
  • Elaine C.

Friendly service. Nice decor. But the only good thing I had were the chips and salsa before the main course. Margarita was very artificially-flavored. One can't taste the alcohol in it. Food was heavily salted. I got one of the seafood dishes and there was only 2-4 tablespoons of real seafood in the whole dish... The shrimps and scallops were lava-size and bland. Refried beans were salty. Rice was dry. Sorry, not impressed.

    (2)
  • Lauren L.

Service was prompt and friendly. The chips and salsa is served with pico and house salsa, which both were just OK. Food was decent but nothing too special about this place. A major downside is that entrees do not include rice and beans, and must be added for 3.95 extra.

    (2)
  • Charlene I.

Jalisco's is like Azteca, but with a different name. LOL I can't tell the difference between the two. Not the best mexican food, but not the worst. It is what it is...chain quality. Pricing is good. Kid friendly. The staff here are exceptional...they are all very, very nice. However, If you want that real, authentic mexican, hit up the taco truck posted at your local gas station though, don't come here. Haha

  • Peggy R.

Seafood Chimichangas?? Yes please, and then some! I love their food, and the service is pretty good, as well. Their pico de gallo is wonderful, if a little spicy - but the spice just adds a tiny bit of kick to the otherwise flavorful deliciousness. My son loves ordering off the kids menu because he gets a really good amount of food and it's always yummy. Hubby enjoys the burrito/enchilada combo. I just can't get past my love of the seafood chimi, so I haven't ventured too far into the menu. That will be my goal for my next visit. I love their food, and they don't mind if you hang out for a while while you enjoy your food.

  • Whitney R.

I live in the area I've been here a few times each time i come the food is great but the service sucks . No refills on soda or chips and salsa takes an hour to get check and has to ask for a box 3 times.

I have been a long time fan of Jalisco's, but I was extremely disappointed with the level of service I received tonight. I called in our order for pick-up, and it honestly seemed like they didn't listen because when I got home it was something totally different. Then I called in to have them replace the order due to their lack of listening and told them what was missing. Rather than having it ready when I arrived, I was told that I screwed up the order, even though they were the ones who didn't listen to my order on the phone. They proceeded to tell me that I had to go home and get the food or they wouldn't give me what was correct. Horrendous service, and I have never been more disappointed. If they had just fixed the order without complaint, I would have been happy. But no, they decided that it was a good time to challenge a customer on something that was their fault. Edit: I ended up giving them two stars after the owner intervened and fixed our order at no charge. Overall though, I would hope that I would receive better service in the future.

The exact same menu as probably 80% of other family-style Mexican restaurants, but executed the best. The staff are very friendly as well - this goes for all Jalisco locations.

  • Kris F.

Been here a few times as they are only a few blocks away from us. The food is nothing great but its the only chain mexican place in the area. My problem is with the service. Every time I come here, there is something off either waiting for an hour, bad tasting food, bad attitudes, or inconsistent pricing. This time, it was inconsistent pricing. We ordered some food to go and when the order came out the prices didn't match up with the menu prices. It turns out that this place charges a "to-go" fee PER ITEM ORDERED. Seriously owners? Way to penalize me for ordering more food... Anyways, in any standard mexican joint, they bring unlimited rounds of chips and salsa so I asked for a little extra to go with my meal. To my surprise, the charged about $6 dollars for a small side of chips and small cup of salsa but it didn't end there. They list the chips and salsa as two more separate items! And guess what, that means two more sets of extra "to-go" fees!! Bottom line, I payed about $35 for a burrito and an enchilada combo with beans and rice. We will not be returning here, its just a basic place with over inflated prices and a nickel and dime mentality. No thanks!

Jalisco is mostly a typically American-style Mexican restaurant, but they have a few stanout items that keep us coming back. - The pico de gallo that comes with the chips and salsa is superb. I do not know how they make it so delicious. I could eat it all day! - The chipoltle sauce they serve with the chicken (or beef) is excellent. - The staff are realy nice and always treat us well. The tiny parking lot can be challenging, I suggest trying to park on the street.

I have been going to Jaliscos for almost my entire life(about 24 years). They have very yummy food, everything on the menu is good. They are THE mexican food place I judge all other mexican places on. Everyone is very nice. The service is wonderful. Jalicos has always been my family's go to restaurant. The fajitas are awesome, but so is everything else.

I've been before & been pleasantly happy (similiar to Azteca) but this last time SUCKED. The only difference? We ate in the bar. Usually, their beans & rice are fresh. Unlimited chips & salsa with a delish pico de gallo. Their mole has been incredible in the past & their portion sizes are hearty. What about the last time (when we ate in the bar)? The salsa was underwhelming...The taco shells & burrito shells were stale & probably from the grocery shore. Sad. The beans were undercooked & the rice was dry. None of us finished our dinners. $60 for 3 $10 dinners & 2 beers? Then refused to show me the itemized reciept... Sketchy. Also, got a little stomach sick afterwards... What a shame, we went there to spoil ourselves. Doubt I'll return of my own free will but will probably give it another chance once a friend invites me... Moral of the story: Don't eat in the bar.

This is probably the best Mexican restaurant in Seattle. The refried beans, rice and enchiladas reach what I call the "ultra delicious factor," and for about $15 per person you can get a delicious and totally satisfying meal. They give you free chips and salsa before your meal. It's nice to see these small restaurants that have survived the economic downturn still doing well, and for the times that I do go out to eat, Jalisco's is definitely on the list. Great service and everyone is so friendly, you hardly see that any more. I would get the combo platter, besides the enchiladas. I know, it's Mexican food, and they can make hundreds of items with the same six ingredients, but any way Jalisco's does it, I'm game! The last time I was here I got the enchilada combo platter with extra rice and beans, chips and salsa for about $15, and I had enough leftovers for another dinner the next day. It's really good to see at least one of the better restaurants not closed down for good.

The good: -service -salsa -pico de gallo -service service service! The not so good: -combo #5 -super nachos By no means do I hope to steer people away from this place, but my experiences (numbering a total of 2) are such... that I will not be going for #3. The food (salsas aside) has been among the blandest I've eaten. It's no exaggeration to say that I make tastier nachos, at home, by pouring chips/cheese/and crumbled meat on a plate--then microwaving it and topping it with franks. Everything about my #5 combo left me sorely wanting. I'm sure some folks will love this place, but it doesn't satisfy my taste.

This place is ok. Kind of azteca-ish. The food was solid and the chips and salsa were good. I would say if you want americanized mexican in the Seattle, this is the place to go (but then again, all the places in Seattle are americaned mexican). However, I would say this place is just okay.

This is the best Mexican restaurant in Seattle hands down. We've tried many of the places around the city and Jalisco has them all beat. The chips and salsa are delicious, the drinks are strong and awesome, and the main entrees are sooooooo good! I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The servers are prompt, nice, accommodating, and funny! If you want some REAL Mexican food and a place that you'll come back to often, come here.

Been here twice for dinner, I was unimpressed both times. The food was not much better than Taco Bell, however, the ambiance is pretty fun.

When it's date night my wife and I 9 times out of 10 end up at Jalisco. Great flan and Salsa! My wife usually has enough food for her lunch the next day. I just eat till I'm stuffed...haha.

I was craving Mexican food. (let me preface this by saying that I LOVE Mexican food, and could eat it every day. But it has to be REAL and AUTHENTIC Mexican food. Not this Azteca stuff.) Jalisco's was charming. The staff was very attentive, friendly, funny and quick. I ordered chicken fajitas (my favorite) and my husband ordered the Jalisco Burrito. We both LOVED our meals. I think we may have eaten exceptionally fast haha! They were so kind and checked on us quite a few times. It's reasonably priced and delicious! If you are looking for good Mexican food- I recommend Jalisco's!

My sister and I stopped by to get some "quick" takeout food. First, the hostess was brand new and could not even answer our questions. For example, are the refried beans vegetarian, i.e. do they contain lard? We were told the order would be ready in 10-15 minutes. After almost 30 minutes, I asked to see the manager. He came out, disappeared, and finally the hostess brought our food out after close to a 40-minute wait. When we went to eat it, we discovered some of the order was missing (guacamole, for example). Food was average. I also observed a waiter put a bill and a credit card by the cash register when the hostess was absent. Since nobody reappeared for 5 minutes, I would have had more than enough time to steal that card. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Even the chips were tasteless.

Love this place. Quality mexican food for a good price. The staff is great, your drink stays topped off and there are always chips in your bowl. Brought my dad here and he loved it. Would recommend this place to anyone.

10 stars for you, guys! The food is amazing, the service is outstanding! And if there's a wait its worth it. We're a family of 4 - 2 little kids - and it's the perfect dinner spot for us. Family friendly and super accommodating. My husband is vegetarian and there's always a health yummy option for him. The kids love the servers and the ambiance. And we don't feel bad when they're a bit noisier than normal.

This was my first and last time here. I got the spinach enchilada and I can't even eat it. The spinach is over cooked and doesn't even smell right. Possibly bad. The rice was dry and brittle. The taste of the food is bland and quality is next to nothing. The only thing I ate were the chips and salsa.

Excellent food! Always get the Shrimp Chimichanga, highly recommend it if you're down with seafood. Been here with friends and family on several occasions, never been disappointed with the grub, however I have found hair before in two of my meals, not a big deal if you don't mind eating it anyways OR better yet asking to have it replaced. Despite this, I love the grub, maybe not the most traditional Mexican spot but it beats Azteca or Las Margaritas by a long shot as far as quality of food goes. Reason I dock a couple stars is because of the two hair incidents, and the staff has never really impressed me too much. One server spent 5 minutes telling us about how his baby could already speak three languages and never took an order, and another waitress asked my dad if he was finished with his meal, when he replied no, she took his plate anyways haha. Just small bullshit, but still, nobody enjoys half ass or ignorant employees.

Decent Americanized Mexican food. The decor is pretty cheesy. Nothing too overly impressive about the experience.

My first experience here resulted in a faulty mug handle breaking off my hot chocolate sending the burning liquid into my lap. I decided to give Jalisco a second chance, and will not be returning. The rellenos and sopapillas are disappointing. Everything else is just ok.

Service was ok but my enchilada was watery and bland. Nothing too appealing about any of the food at our table

This is solid 3 star Mexican food. We leave pretty close, so when we need a quick dinner with the kids on a school night (and we prefer not to eat fast food) we sometimes come here. They have good (sweet) mole and chipotle sauce so if you put it on whatever you order it's bound to taste decent. That's it though, solid mediocre Mexican food. Decent margaritas also. The service is always good and everything is fast, which is exactly what we need every time we go.

Food is second only to the first class service. The food is as authentic as it gets. Carta Blanca is cold and the margaritas are perfection. Only visit if you want the best Mexican food Seattle has to offer.m

The bar is really where it's at here. It's a great neighborhood bar that does a great job on the pour. I wouldn't say the food is top notch, but the bar definitely is fun to hang around in sometimes. The drawback of course, is that there are some of the same old people from Lake City hanging out here.

I'm not sure if I ordered the wrong thing or not, but I wasn't impressed with my dinner at all. I thought everything about my meal was blah, the enchillada sauce, the rice, the cold tortilla chips. Not my idea of a good authentic mexican resraurant. I think I could get better quality and authenticity at a taco truck. On the up-side, the margarita MUY BUENO! Alls I could taste was the tequila, that's my kind of drink! And the service was excellent too, very attentitive and friendly staff, I even got carded... very niiiice!

So in my grand tradition of trying out new restaurants for the first time by using a coupon, I went there with a smile on my face and a Restaurant.com voucher in my pocket. The silly mistake (which won't have been a big deal 99% of the time) I made was to not show them the voucher right away. Their food is regularly priced Mexican fare and that can be a LOT to eat if you're trying to hit $35 minimum. Well, after ordering what we thought would be good for the next meal as well, we were told they're not honoring those vouchers anymore. @#$#$%$!! Thankfully, they did honor it for the money I paid. About the food - good chips, salsa and pico de gallo, decent burrito and niice enchilada. Service? What service? After being shown to our booth curtly, we were given our menus. They seemed in a hurry to take the order and slooow to give us the order. Another customer who came much later was given his order first. Oh, and the first entree that was put on our table actually wasn't ours (caught by another waitress). Aand after realizing our little quandary, our waitress was least interested in being helpful (or being there at all, for that matter). So that's the whole enchilada, so to speak. Can't say I recommend it, but I don't wake up in cold sweat after having nightmares of eating at Jalisco either.

NO Cold rubbery chips, bad service, the refried beans tasted like old lard, dry rice, stringy meat, terrible food.

Just went for the first time. Great food, the staff is very friendly and charming. The food comes fast and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The place looks kind of what you find in many Mexican places but the food and staff are much better than what you typically find.

This is a typical Mexican restaurant. Nothing out of the ordinary. Sometimes I really crave a good plate of nachos or a torta and this place delivers. However, the service today was weird. We walked in and there wasn't a host or employee in sight. Then another party walked in behind us and we all stood around looking at each other. Then one of us went on a search for a waiter -- she asked seated customers if they knew where an employee was -- she finally found a waiter in the back. Later, when we were eating, I noticed that more people weren't being greeted at the door -- and they too were forced to wander inside to find a waiter. Huh?

I'd consider myself a "regular" at Jaliscos. I'd say twice a month for the last 10 years or so. Chips/Salsa/Pico - Always amazing. Chips are warm and crispy. Salsa is the perfect level of spicy. Pico is always fresh. They're always happy to bring more if you request it. Service - Depends on who you get and your attitude. If you're nice to the wait staff they will be polite as well. Menu - Very hit and miss. Some things, like their chicken nachos and chicken mole are the BEST I've ever had. On the other hand, things like their tortilla soup and their spinach enchilada (both things that I like at other restaurants) are terrible. Price - Normal for a Mexican restaurant. $10-15 per plate. Overall - I recommended it. If you try something once and don't like it try something else the next time. You're sure to find something on the menu you like.

**WARNING TO RESTAURANTS.COM USERS** We went to Jalisco because we had gotten a restaurants.com certificate. However, they would only discount $10 of the $25 value from our ticket due to some issue the restaurant owner was having with the deal site. So be warned, the restaurants.com certificates are not being accepted for their value. And knowing they are having issues, they have not removed themselves from restaurants.com . To me, this feels like they are scamming their clientele. This scam-like attitude is what gives them 1 star. As you'll read, they don't have enough redeeming value to get more stars. The service was friendly and fast. The food came out quickly and hot! The food was mediocre. It wasn't bad, but I've had better at most Mexican restaurants I've eaten at in other parts of the U.S. One stellar exception was the guacamole. This was excellent guacamole. The pico was interesting and more coleslaw like than normal pico de gallo. The rest of everything else was mediocre. We had a selection of quesadillas, tacos, enchilada, burrito, fajitas, with rice and beans. The beans were very lacking. I've had better beans from a can.

The food is average but the service deserves 5 stars. I've been coming here for years and the employees are always friendly and welcoming. I went away for a couple years and came back and they're like "where have you been!!" It's refreshing to find a place where the staff are genuinely friendly and care about their customers.

Not too shabby. Recently I have been dissapointed with the local Mexican choices, but this one wasn't as bad as Azteca. Food here was pretty decent, service was good, and prices were fair. It's your basic Mexican restaurant. What else can I say? The taco's are a really good price here (2.99 each) so just stack up on those and you'll leave full!

I have eaten at several Jalisco restaurants around Seattle. They are a good restaurant for american style Mexican food. The other day we stumbled in by accident just as they were opening. It was Saturday at 11:00 AM. The service was amazing, our server was very attentive and gave us his honest opinion about what to eat. We tried one of the egg dishes he recommended and it was great. Jalisco is our new go to place for breakfast, if we can wait until 11:00 AM to eat.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
