This place is great! I love that in addition to some of the typical convenience store junk food that you'd expect, they carry a lot of organic and natural convenience foods (Amy's Kitchen frozen foods, to name one). The prices are a little high, but not too bad. I haven't tried the coffee here yet but their chai is amazing, the sandwiches are good, and the staff is so amazingly friendly, I feel lucky to work across the street from this place.

This Market has recently changed owners. They are perfectly nice however I work periodically on Sundays and they seem to no longer make sandwiches on Sundays now. It's somewhat disappointing. I hope the new owners will bring back Sunday sandwich service.

This place is right down the street from me, so it's a nice quick drop-in for your basic food items. Their biggest draw for me is the deli. They have a great selection of sandwiches that use only Boar's Head meats and cheeses or you can make your own! Added bonus, the owners are super-friendly.

This is a fantastic neighborhood store/deli. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit here, but if you're in the area this is a solid spot for a deli sandwich. Might I recommend the Tokyo Tuna? It has a wasabi base that gives it an awesome bite. They have breakfast sandwiches too, but I haven't tried them as of yet. Everything I've tried for lunch has been good. They carry a variety of other items like any quick mart would. The convenience factor raises the prices so this isn't going to be someplace you buy your groceries, but it is a really great option if you need something last minute. The sandwiches really are tasty and the family running the place is always really kind and friendly.

The deli sandwiches are delicious, no matter which one you order. The owner and employees are nice too. The prices are a little high but there aren't many other stores or mini marts in this area. The sandwiches are made to order and come with a pickle spear. They use to come with an andes mint, but I guess that has changed. I recommend the lake union: turkey and bacon on wheat; big dipper: roast beef and au jus sauce (they frequently sell out of this so I have to ask if they have any that day); tokyo tuna: tuna sandwich with wasabi mayo; blt bomber: bacon with guacamole. These are my regular go to's. They also have a large variety of drinks alcoholic and non-alcoholic, chips and snacks. There are plenty of frozen items available but prices are pretty steep. The Asian sesame noodles and smoked mozzarella pasta aren't to shabby either. Or you can get a breakfast bagel and coffee or even a boiled egg and yogurt. If your in the area and you want something quick, come here.

Great selection of sammis. Nice owners who are unaware of the impact of Yelp reviews on their business. Sadly they think Yelp is the enemy. Good food though.

This place has THE BEST sandwiches. They are made with Boars head meats and cheeses, and they get fresh artisan tyle bread from some bakery every day. They really pack on the high quality meat and slightly toast most of the sandwiches. The rest of the grocery items are pretty expensive. More than being 7-11-ish with tons of junk food, they are for neighborhood families that forgot a thing or two at the store, like pasta or canned soup. They also have quite the frozen section. You canr really buy meals here, but at a convenience market price, of course. They do have some candy and treats, though. A perfectly acceptable amount of goodies to choose from. The staff is totally friendly and they always recognize us, which is nice.

Yeah, it works. its got stuff. usually nice stuff. ie. if there are cheap crackers and nice ones, they'll carry the nice ones. and the people are nice.

This is a great little place with really friendly employees. I have had several of the sandwiches, and never been disappointed. They have an awesome snack and frozen food selection, from Doritos to organic chips, and they even have a wide variety of respectable beers. They use Boar's Head meats for their very satisfyingly-sized sandwiches, and they have a nice spread of small sized toiletry items (which is great cause I work nearby and always need something..). I've tried the coffee, and while it's definitely not bad, it hasn't made me kick my Starbucks habit. The staff are so nice- they always say hello to me and learned my name right away. It's a great example of what a little deli should be!

Convenient and very good selection. Used to be a little more awesome because their beer was dirt cheap for the first 6 months or so after they opened.

Hamlin Market and Deli is run by the nicest bunch of people ever. The husband/wife team of Michael and Jane, as well as Jo, welcome all customers warmly and by name. They carry a little bit of everything, and lots of organics. My staff and I work next door, so we visit the deli every day for their amazing sandwiches (paninis are to die for!) It is nice to have the Michael and Jane as our business neighbors, who have a great thing going with their market and deli :)

With all of the new and old condos and apartments in north easlake, this little stop and shop is very very welcome! No longer are residents walking across a bridge,up a hill or halfway to southlakeunion for the nearest quart of milk. They have all of the essentials and the things you need for unplanned entertaining or last minute calories, including a pretty good wine and beer selection. The sandwhich menu includes respectable meats and cheeses and if you're in to it, you can just buy a single hard boiled egg. There are a couple of outdoor tables for enjoying the street as well as your coffee. A little pricey but we are definetly willing to pay for the convenience! A nice addition to the neighborhood.

This place has got the goods. Great staff and a large menu of savory options. It won't change your life but it's one of the better sandwich spots in the city.

I live right down the street from here so I was very excited to have a market close especially with a Boarshead deli! Then I started actually wanting to go there. It's definately only a lunch place. They close the deli early (like 4). Their selection is ish good but it's all priced pretty high. Don't ever buy beer here, if you walk two blocks farther you can save at least .50 on an individual or a buck on a pack. The people aren't friendly anymore. There's this new young guy who thinks he's the greatest thing and really could care less about a customer. There's never food promos. In all honesty I'm really avoiding this place now 'cause whenever I go to get a sandwich, the deli is closed. It's happened 3 times to me now. But they are supposed to be open til 7pm. Not the best neighborhood market at all.

Just went here for the first time today and was pretty impressed. Ordered a sandwich and it was delicious and pretty reasonably priced. The owners seem very nice as well. Would definitely go back.

Sandwiches. How did we not try these sooner?!?!?! They have awesome deli sandwiches. We now go here for lunch frequently. They give you a pickle wedge and a mint, and are incredibly friendly!

Bacon! They put bacon on everything...

The Ham has recently changed owners, but they appear to be just as nice as the previous ones (even though no one will ever replace the cashier whose name I should have learned..). Anyway, they have very good sandwiches (my personal favorite is the Long Island Shuttle on wheat), even though they all taste the same after a while. The Urban Cowboy is very good too. They have a limited selection of fruits and vegetables, wine, crackers, and a plethora of soda (some natural cane sugar) and chips. They even have sewing kits, hair ties, safety pins, and other miscellaneous wonders! It's nothing amazing, but if you're close by it's worth the money for a to-go lunch.

Everything is a bit overpriced here. Everything. Their selection of what would be considered your standard convenience store items is a little odd but it works. If you're claustrophobic you may want to skip over this quick-e mart since you need to be about 90 pounds or greased to the nines to navigate their aisles. They do have a deli here... if you're fortunate enough to come by when it's actually open (the deli keeps different hours from the rest of the shop) they make some great sandwiches and breakfast munchies. Again... over priced but tasty enough that I'm giving 3 stars for their yummy sandwiches instead of the 2 stars this place likely deserves overall. Hamlin is more a beast of convenience than someplace I would go as a destination. If you're in the area and need a pack of gum or something to drink it'll get you handled.

I used to work nearby and to see this place appear on my feed brings back great memories. Its been a couple years since I been back. My highest compliment would be the service. these ppl are just GOOOOOOD people. Extremely kind, sweet JUST GOOD PEOPLE. the sandwiches are made fresh and extremely great quality from the cheese, to the breads to the meats. Excellent quality. BEST BACON ever!! I remember breakfast and lunch sandwiches. soooo good

Damn you, Hamlin Deli, for making the most addicting, yummy-licious sandwiches, and all with a SMILE! I was hooked on the Lake Union. And now the Big Tuna. I never knew sandwiches could taste this good. All sandwiches come with a pickle and an Andes mint. Everyone who works there is friendly and they make sandwiches quickly for the lunch rush. It is everyone in my office's go-to place for lunch. And it will soon be yours, too....

The veggie reuben is amazing! I've been going here for YEARS and now that I'm pregnant...I simply can't get enough! I'm on my way for another one right now... My suggestion is to get your sanwiches and a beer in a bag and pop down to one of the hidden parks on the water to watch the activity. A true hidden gem of a deli!

Great little corner store and market. They hook me up with breakfast sandwiches and lunch at work. They hit the spot, but not available on Sundays. Frozen lunches are available too, but with the small-store markup to be expected. The veg head, blazing Cajun, blts and Tokyo tuna are tasty. Food and exceptionally friendly staff keep me functional during my work day.

While taking my mother to an early morning doctor's appointment nearby, I walked down to this little deli in dire need of something to eat for breakfast. I decided to skip the normal breakfast fare and dive straight into lunch. Ordered the BLT bomber, which is a regular BLT, with the world's most amazing bacon (seriously, it will change your life, vegans), and avocado, along with an Italian soda to wash it all down. While I do agree with the growing sentiment that this deli is a bit overpriced, I also agree that you get what you pay for. And holy crap did I get a best sandwich I've had in a while type meal. There is a pretty good mix of everything you'd expect to find in a convenience store, a selection of pre-made food (like potato salad, macaroni salad, etc) in the case, aspirin for your morning after a long a night...that kind of stuff. Definitely coming back here if I'm ever in the neighborhood.

I have yet to have a sammich here that isn't freaking delicious. At present I'm munching on The Lake Union, sans tomatoes plus avocado, and holy yum. Love the crispy pickle and the Andes mint that come with every sandwich. Good, small selection of other foods that you might need if you live in the area and just don't have time to head to the supermarket. Sandwich area a liiitttllleee pricey, but not overwhelming. I've always been a big proponent of getting what you pay for, and this place makes that old adage ring true. The Quality is in the bag. If you're in the neighborhood and need a quick, delicious, & quality lunch, I highly recommend Hamlin Market. p.s. Parking is free on the south side of the building.

My secret little go to place before quiet walks along the lake. Quick, convenient, major assortment of most deli hearts desire. And courteous staff!

This little neighborhood market and deli in a very respectable neighborhood in the Lake Union/Eastlake district makes THE BEST sandwiches. And she makes them quick! Then, go find a park and have a picnic! You can eat there at a small counter, but why would you want to? Seattle has great places to nibble with a view.

Delis/markets... especially when they are in a residential/office/etc areas with little else within at least a couple blocks.... are SO wonderful! It was a Saturday morning and I was on my way to do some volunteer work planting some (native) trees/shrubs... and I wanted coffee. I walked a few blocks and then saw their sign advertising Vashon Coffee (Company). Extra points for working with a local company (that is apparently also family-owned)! They have a deli, cheese (blocks like in grocery stores- Hogs Head is the brand, I think? They have Delis and stuff in some QFC/Safeway locations?), all kinds of misc food items, bottled drinks, etc.... and the very important selection of drip and espresso drinks (as well as some tea/chai/etc). I got a tall mocha and it was pretty good. They also have a little "bar" type seating area against the window, which seems great for anybody who wants to eat their lunch there and/or possibly use their laptops (not sure about that one, but I did see one charging).

This place is small, but I really like their selection. It's a great place to go for locals who want to walk to get a good choice of beer (lots of choices and they have PBR light, one of the only places you'll see that!), haagen daas ice cream, good lunch meat (Boars Head), and a lot of other good/unique items. There deli sandwiches are amazing, especially the "Gobble, Gobble". It's probably not a go-to for all your groceries, but it has a ton of little things that are very convenient if you're close and don't want to drive/bus to a larger store.

Update! They've really figured their stuff out at Hamlin! The sandwiches are just as good as ever. The espresso has been switched to Stumptown, and the owner, Brian, and his wife have had a lot of training from Stumptown and now pull very good shots from their beautiful La Marzocco machine. The selection in the grocery has only gotten more comprehensive and extensive, and the owners have a standing policy about trying their hardest to accommodate requests. The rude beardy cashier is history and they've hired nothing but the sweetest cashiers since. All of them are so personable and helpful, I cannot help but adore them. All in all, an awesome local place to grab a cuppa and a sammie on the run.

This place is rather small but an awesome little deli. Many organic or gluten free options. Awesome sandwiches!! The big dipper, veg head, and vinnies italian dream are my favorites. I do miss when they used to give you a little mint with your sandwich. Everyone who works here always has a smile and is very friendly.

At this very moment I am eating their Not Your Average BLT sandwich and felt compelled to spread the news that it's effin' DELISH!!!! This is one of the best BLTs I have ever had, not that I'm a certified BLT expert... but seriously, amazing. The bacon itself is not greasy, not flimsy, perfect cut of deliciousness. The tomatoes are thick and plentiful with lettuce and nicely-toasted wheat bread. The market is just down the street from my home and has a wonderful selection of typical market food, but surprisingly I saw some more gourmet products such as Sahale Snacks, Kashi Frozen Foods, etc. If you ever need beverages, snacks, ice cream, sandwiches, even pantry items, this place is convenient. Big plus that the people who own and work there are super courteous!

Nifty little neighborhood market/deli. The sandwiches are quality and tasty, but a bit expensive considering the size. I don't really know what the deal is with Boars Head meat, but it's apparently good stuff. This is definitely a spot I'll hit up again for a quick sandwich to go. Try the Lake Union sandwich!

It's basically a convenience store that makes sandwiches, but they were pretty good sandwiches.

My boyfriend and I discovered this little piece of heaven when we first moved to Seattle. Everyone knows when you are craving a true deli sandwich you can't just got to some shitty subway joint. And this place is far from tasting like subway. Overall Delicious sandwiches and an incredibly friendly staff. My recommendation is the BLT Bomber with Turkey. Sooooo goooood!

Hamlin Market and Deli is a cute, mom-and-pop convenience mart located on Eastlake Avenue. In this tiny store, there is a tidy selection of frozen food (think Amy's, DiGiorno, and the like), wine, beer, soft drinks and sundries. Since Eastlake doesn't have a grocery store, Hamlin Market is a decent substitute when you need stuff in the immediate area to tide you over till you can visit Trader Joe's in the U-District or QFC in Capitol Hill. The deli sandwiches and the service are the main draws here. I'm a big corned beef fan, so the Long Island Shuttle sandwich (corned beef, pastrami, Muenster cheese, delicatessen-style brown mustard, and horseradish on rye bread) really hits the spot! The sandwich is also served with a dill pickle spear--nice touch! Love!

This place is worth the 5 stars AND the bus ride up the street! I work directly above Grand Central Bakery up the street but choose this deli instead. Why? The sandwiches are GREAT - period. (my fav = rueben) They carry my favorite soy ice cream too!
