So, you know it's bad when you've only been in a city for less than 2 months, and I've been here 3 times already!! Ok...my go to is the pistachio. Never had a better pistachio gelato anywhere else! They are very patient with you and will give you 2 samples per stick! :) I will say one time I went after dinner..maybe around 8pm and their pistachio was almost out!! So try to get there a little earlier. The flavors change often, I went 2 days ago, and they had hazelnut, but then today they didn't. The combo of sour cherry and pistachio works out wonderfully. Not that hard to find parking around here. Costs I think are reasonable for the quality. So smooth, so lovely. Mmmm. I want to go back again...oh and definitely try the goat milk one! it isn't my cup of tea because it tastes like goat cheese (of course!) but if you like goat cheese you might like this. :) Others have commented on Molly Moon's vs. here. Fainting Goat HANDS down! I will say just to let you know the 2-scoop here are small scoops (a good amount for me!) BUT, props to Molly Moon's as I remember getting a single scoop at Molly Moon's and um, those things are humongous!

Lots of unique and tasty flavors but not very happy staff. I think the customer service really needs to be improved. There were no smiles or greetings. When it was our turn the employee just stood looking at us until we asked for a sample. We ordered and paid and didn't receive any parting comments either. Seems a bit pricey. Street parking only but usually easy to find a spot in this area. Probably won't be back.

My kiddo recently saw some videos about fainting goats so of course we had to come... She's a mint chocolate chip girl and quickly selected her scoop... Mint with chocolate sprinkles. I had to sample a couple before spying the affogato on the menu board... The server recommended a few and I went with one, the salted caramel... Which is always hit or miss with me. Wow... So. Good. Great price point for a quality product... Not really the friendliest service but definitely delicious!

Who doesn't like ice cream or gelato? It is a good cheap option anytime. All you have to do is to get yourself over to fainting goat and then it is all bliss!!! Fainting goat is a small store, lucky for us was not very crowded on the day we went, but from what I read in the reviews, the line can be crazy long. The staff are super friendly and let you taste as many flavors as you want. Apparently the crowd pleaser here is pistachio, and then all the fruit flavors. I am more into coffee-chocolate kind of flavors and got myself espresso and chocolate. The chocolate tasted pretty darn good, thick and creamy. Espresso was only mediocre. There were not that many options to choose from; couldn't find mocha or coffee or anything else along those lines, but apparently the flavors change often. A total of 5-ish bucks for two scoops, I would say the price is reasonable. I can imagine that finding a parking spot can be a little bit of a hassle at times; but then again, it is gelato. Can you resist?!

I came here with my friends, and we had an awesome Groupon voucher. We were able to beat the crowd which was nice, because after we ordered there were about 15 ppl on line after us. The poor guy was totally slammed We ordered 3 scoops each, I had the salted caramel, the goat milk flavor, and the pistachio flavor. My flavors were all well rounded and tasted great, the only flavor that I didn't like was my friends' mint scoop. It was artificial tasting and not good at all. The goat milk gelato didn't taste any different from regular gelato, I will probabaly just stick to my favorite flavors next time and just get coffee and pistachio. I'm not sure how we managed to finish 3 scoops each by ourselves. This place is a bit pricey without gelato so be on the lookout!!

Sometimes I dont want ice cream.....WHAT??!!??? Then I come here for gelato. Molly Moons is up the street for ice cream but I like Fainting Goat a lot. They have great gelato flavors, their fruit flavors are super delicious especially the peach. Staff is super friendly offering samples to taste and also quick & effecient. The small cup gets you 2 flavors so we got Peach & Mint, and Nutella & Espresso. Both were great being super creamy, smooth and they give you pretty liberal scoops too. Its not ridiculously crowded here which is nice. A few tables inside and a few seats outside as well. They have waffle cones and I think I saw espresso drinks as well, but stick to the gelato...its so good!!! Right in the middle of Wallingford on 45th, its nice to get some gelato and walk around.

Love this place -- such great flavors! We just got back from Italy, aka - "The Land of Gelato", and Fainting Goat has them beat! I had the salted caramel and the coconut, friends had pistachio, dark chocolate, sour cherry, and tiramisu -- and we were all blissfully happy. Cute little shop - plenty of chances to sample before making that all important choice, on street parking, and the world's cutest logo -- what more can you ask for?

A small Wallingford shop that sells magical dairy. Space and Service: Fainting Goat Gelato is a pretty small gelato store next to a sock shop, but you can't miss it (probably because you came here looking for it, anyways.) Open up the door, and you'll be greeted with your standard size ice cream store, with some small circular tables and tables. You'll be able to sit down and enjoy your gelato after ordering. The workers were willing to put up with my countless samples, so I have no complaints. It was a pretty slow day anyways. Food: Some of my favorite samples included pistachio and irish coffee, but in the end t took me ages to decide between white ginger, mastic, which is goat milk. I eventually went with the goat milk flavor, which I've heard is very polarizing. I loved its creaminess and slight saltiness, and gobbled it down in an instant. If you want a lighter flavor, I'd recommend the almond or ginger, but if you really want a memorable flavor, the goat milk is the way to go. In any case, you can sample to your heart's delight so you'll be happy with your choice. It's an affordable treat, and if you want, it's something you can brag to your friends about. Fainting goat? More like fainting-me-because-this-place-is-so-damn-good.

THEIR GELATO IS SO FREAKING AMAZING. I was in for the first time with my friends who live in Greenlake, and their "adopted son" (who isn't really their son since he's the same age as them, but more like an inside joke. The four of us were joking that they should adopt me, and then they'd be the future Bradjelina). I'm not making a good case for myself here, sorry. Point being, we took a stroll for gelato, my favorite! I love Wallingford, I'm not in it as much as I should because parking is a nightmare, and the street that goes through Wallingford is a nightmare, but I should definitely be in Wallingford more often. Anyway, back to gelato. It was creamy, smooth, and super tasty. I loved it. And I will definitely be back to try more. And more. And more. GIT IN MAH BELLY!

Delicious gelato. My favorite was the pistachio, and if you like goat cheese you will love the goat's milk flavor as well. Nice big scoops too.

Good stuff! and for gelato, they're on the more generous side, offering 2 healthy scoops in the small. You can choose one flavor of two scoops or 2 different flavors. The toasted almond was flavorful, and tasted like real toasted almonds and not sweet almond extract like many do. The pistachio is popular, but I didn't find it quite as flavorful as some I've had...no nuts in it either. The namesake Goats Milk was sampled and I actually liked it, but I am a sissy and afraid of goat/sheep milk, etc...straight up bovine for this lady. The goatsmilk kind had mastic in it, which is what gives Turkish Delight it's chewy/boingyness...I am going to live life and get that full on next time. I suggest you nip your fear of non-cow creams and go for it too.

  • Doug T.

Wow... only been here once. They have a magic Guava Strawberry flavor that is about as awesome as Guava cake in Hawaii. If you're not a guava fan.. well there's a bunch of other flavors that are probably equally as good.. but I'll never know.. sticking with the guava.

I had my wisdom teeth removed and came here because there was a groupon deal ($11 for $18 worth of gelato). I got a pint of salted caramel and tried a three scoops of other assorted gelato with the value of the groupon. The entire transaction was seamless unlike other places that get confused about what to do with groupon vouchers. The salted caramel pint is really tasty and it has stayed soft in my fridge even after a couple days.

So many flavors to choose from, never enough time (or real estate in my stomach)! I can personally vouch for the spicy chocolate, nutella, green tea, coconut, dark chocolate, espresso and Sicilian pistachio. The small dish is a tasty amount and includes two flavor choices. Go with a friend, so you can have bites of theirs. Online menu available for viewing and drooling.

  • Crystal L.

One of the best gelatos I have ever had. Velvety smooth texture, thick and creamy. Not overly sweet. Taste like it's freshly-made. Generous serving. Single comes with 2 scoops! (If I remembered correctly) I had the pistachio, and rum & raisin.

  • Alexandra C.

Great place for dessert! Staff was friendly, flavors were unique and everyone found something they enjoyed. I recommend sampling before making a selection; I went straight for the nutella flavor and it had a strange aftertaste that I tried to mask with another flavor. There are also sorbet options that I didn't try, and one gelato flavor that's made with goats milk! Lots of variety, will definitely go back.

  • Priya C.

Delicious gelato! Expect a long line, but very pleasant customer service when you finally get to the front ;) Fainting goat has a ton of interesting flavors, including all of the classics. My favorite is by far the mastic (which is very tough to find elsewhere, I've only seen it in NYC!) which is their one flavor made with goat's milk (it's almost like a pine/foresty flavor that's very refreshing but subtle) - get it!

    (5)
  • Shu T.

I would come here for ice cream over Molly Moo's any day. My bf ordered the goat cream gelato and it was delicious. I am a big fan of goat cheese but I didn't know if goat gelato was going to taste just as good. Love this place.

  • Jen C.

If you knew me freshman year of undergrad, you would have seen me buy (and eat) an entire pint of Haagen Dazs ice cream every single day. Nothing else worth buying with my meal plan money anyway.. I'm pretty much an ice cream fiend (and basically any frozen dessert, especially if its topped with fresh whipped cream!). I love it in all shapes and forms (except melted). Fainting Goat Gelato is quite the gem! Every single flavor I tasted was excellent and I almost couldn't decide what to get. In the end, we got pistachio, amaretto, and hazelnut. The gelato is just the right temperature (solid enough so it doesn't melt right away), super smooth and creamy, and full of flavor. The store itself is moderate sized. It isn't fancy or anything, but there is some seating. It gets busy sometimes and a small line can form, but it moves pretty quickly since everyone wants to shove gelato into their faces as fast as possible (guilty as charged). If you are a fan of ice cream or gelato or frozen desserts or anything good in the world, get yourself to Fainting Goat!

I actually lived down the street from this place for about a year, but never tried it because the lines were always crazy long! Tried it just a few weeks back. I had an Earl Grey gelato, I think my son had Strawberry. It was good. I have had better, and can't really understand those lengthy lines after having been in there, but it's definitely worth stopping by if the line isn't crazy!

Actually I like it more than molly mom. Tried Tiramisu and the grapefruit one. It is so light and has really strong fresh fruit flavor.

  • Andreas E.

Best gelato in Wallingford. Nice selection of flavors and reasonable price. Be adventurous and at least do a taste test of the Mango Habanero sorbet - it surprise you in a good way

  • Sierra X.

The line for Molly Moon's was out the door and there was no seating available inside. It was a brisk evening and we were impatient, so we walked about a block to this place. I'm really glad we tried it! The gelato was delicious! We were not disappointed! I had coconut and matcha green tea. My friend had an affogato.

Currently eating the Nutella and Pistachio which I would highly recommend. This gelato brings me back to My study abroad days in Italy. Absolutely fantastic. Also got a pint of strawberry and lemon sorbet for later :0 definitely a treat cause it's not super cheap, but well worth it!!

Fainting Goat means a woman that lies there and does nothing while the man does all the work while conducting, THE BUSINESS! This is auctually my edited and Toned down version of the Urban Dicktionary definition. I love the name of this place as well as well as the Gelato. Normally I am more of an Ice Cream person but when I can find Super Creamy, Thick, Smooth Texture and Fluffy like a Bunny Sweet Frozen Treats I'm GOing in!!! It is nested in the Wallingford Strip right by Molly Moons and a bunch of Restaurants nearby. When Molly Moons is Over Infested like a Bunch of Embryos trying to get the egg, but in this case it's the C.R.E.AM., this is a great spot to ditch that line and get that Deli-sh Treat!!! Pistachio is my flavor of choice at any Gelato Shop. However, this place has a wide Variety of Flavors you won't find at most Gelato Places. The Gelato is Fatty, Thicker than Snickers, Creamy Smooth Texture, and good amount of Sugar in it( Although I am a sugar addict I always want more)! Sorbetos are another really good option here too! Always get around 2 to 3 Scoops or even a Pint to Enjoy until you Fall in a Foodie Coma so You Know WHat it Feels Like To Be A Fainting Goat!!! I am Pretty sure this is the reason it's named that!!! Do it!!!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for..... GELATO!! Fainting Goat has so much variety! It's rare that you find a gelato place with so many choices. I love coming in and sampling the flavors since they are always changing. I feel annoying when I do that but the staff are always so nice and say it's okay and they just end up giving me a sample of whatever flavor. :) People who are just willing give me gelato have a special place in my heart. The gelato is creamy, smooth, and the flavor really comes out! I am partial to their sorbets. They always have such yummy flavors! One of my favorites was lemon and grapefuit. I recently came in and bought a pint of strawberry lemon. It reminds me of those minute maid icy cups but better!! It definitely brings me back to my childhood on a hot summer day. They also have a gelato made from goat's milk. I didn't particularly care for it, but it's worth a try to see if it tickles your fancy. No matter what you choose, there is no wrong choice. AND there is always room for seconds! ;) They have pre-packed pints you can buy or you can have them scoop you whatever flavor into a pint if you don't find the flavor you want in the fridge. The prices aren't bad I would say that they are comparable to any other ice cream shop. I have yet to try their coffees and floats but they look good. Lots of seating in the area which is why I like this place slightly better than Molly Moons. Although it is a very difficult decision between the two since they are so close to each other. I have never had to wait in a line here. They usually get spikes of crowds, but the lines go by really fast so don't be discouraged if you see a line.

Store is absolutely adorable, cozy homey feel. Workers are very nice and helpful. We asked for 4 samples, since there were a bunch of new flavors. No hesitancy and only encouragement was added! A different texture from what you would expect in gelato, but that silky creaminess is really refreshing and utter-ly delicious. I love how milky their ice creams are! We ended up sharing a 3 scoop: pistachio, lavender, and almond. Store is affiliated to 5 stars reward program, so sign up! The only sad part of this store was how hot it was inside.

Oooh, Gelato, I've missed you. Haven't had really good Gelato since I've been to Venice, the closest I've got in the US is this tiny place in St. Johns, OR. But this place deserves a special mention. Located in the University district in Seattle, they serve out some pretty authentic Gelato, not Italy/Europe quality but definitely top tier with respect to US standards. Tasted the Tiramisu (heavenly), Straciatella (so good), Hazelnut and Nutella and also their personal one the Goat Milk flavored Gelato. The first two were awesome (and usually the flavors I end up getting at a Gelato place anyways) so went with a scoop each of those in a tasty waffle cone. Good Gelato definitely makes your day (or night!!)

  • Michelle Y.

The Gelato here is pretty fantastic. Sometimes you can also find a Groupon deal which means you can take it with you to a dinner party of just keep it your own little yummy secret. Lots of great flavors and it is a cute little shop. If the line at Molly Moon's is out the door come here you will not be bummed!

Gelato to die for! I was skeptical about the hype but I'm now a convert.

  • Alex K.

I've gotta be honest, I expected to love this place. I had heard nothing but rave reviews about the unique flavors and the quality ingredients. Needless to say I was disappointed. I sampled a lot of the flavors trying to find one that I wanted a whole scoop of but none of them were good. Every single flavor was WAY too sweet and over flavored to the point where it was unenjoyable. After all that sampling I had to buy something so I asked what their smallest scoop size was. They said they could do a mini scoop that wasn't listed on the menu. I split that with my girlfriend and still had trouble finishing it (due to flavor, not size). Flavors are too sweet, prices are too high, and they have a smaller version that isn't listed on their menu (to trick you into buying more expensive scoops?). Not going back.

Fainting goat gelato has a highlight you might not find anywhere else outside of Greece - gelato made with goat's milk and mastic. Mastic is a tree and it's sap is made into liquor, candy, chewing gum etc. try it!! My favorite is the chocolate with hazelnut bits, tastes just like baci. It's not as rich and creamy as ice cream but has pretty good flavored. Salted caramel is alright, I've had better at elsewhere.. Pistachio is pretty good too. Great stop after delicious ramen from 4649!! If you're health conscious, they have caloric information for all their gelato!!

  • Alina C.

Yummy in my tummy! Earl grey tea gelato. Need I say more? And the service is great! Patient and welcoming. Helpful and very chipper! They use the fivestars reward program too! Which is a plus for me. (:

Used a groupon to splurged on a bunch of ice cream cups for my cousins, nieces and nephews. We were seriously a group of 12 people. The two late night workers were super helpful and friendly in assisting with all the kids trying to find out which flavor they liked. Just tasting took a good 10-15 mins. In the end, all the kids were happy with their choices and us adults had our sweet tooth cravings satisfied. The big plus side, there's a place to sit, relax and they were open till 11pm. The ice cream flavors were just right (not too sweet, but just enough) and refreshing. One of the workers were so nice enough to bring out a few extra chairs for us. Would definitely come back again next time I'm visiting Seattle. I'll have to try the affogato another time!

    (4)
  • Troy C.

Oh so good. I got two flavors in a waffle cone and was pleasantly surprised with what I got for the price since Gelato generally costs a little more. Anyways, I got the salted caramel and espresso and loved them. I would probably try something other than the caramel next time, but the espresso was to die for. The display had some toasted coffee beans on top and I got a few of those included in my scoop, those were the best bites.

  • Gabriel C.

Lemon Grisbi ($3?) - good balance between the desired sweetness of gelato with the naturally sour taste of lemon, paired with little chunks of grisbi. Yum!

    (4)
  • Ruby P.

It's a small cozy ice cream shop They have a variety of flavors I got the mocha crunch scoop But it tasted like solid icy icecream not like the creamy melt in your mouth gelato it wasn't light but extremely heavy tasting. Probably not my type. Other ice cream shops that are better . The lady behind the counter wasn't really friendly either. But pricing is competitive with the rest of the area.

    (3)
  • Kate M.

Tasty flavors, charming environment, less crowded than Molly Moons, and friendly service. Their gelato is worth a try. I'm disappointed that they got rid of their plain non-fat gelato, but I imagine it wasn't as popular as the other, richer flavors.

    (4)
  • Lemme K.

Good place!!! Gelato was creamy and flavors were good. Portions are good and service was excellent. I'm only giving 4 stars cause it's not as good as the gelato in Kirkland and I was having high expectation. Other than that, this is pretty good! Definitely would come back when I'm in the area

    (4)
  • Kendra C.

I had the honey lavender, pistachio, almond, and avocado lime gelatos and was in heaven. This is by far the best gelato I have ever had. I have been to Italy and this place beats the best gelato I had there. The flavors were fresh, creamy, and delicious. I seriously contemplated moving to Seattle because of how delicious this was.

Lemon Grisbi, Matcha, Hazelnut, and Roasted Almond. Can a person fall more in love? While a person is difficult, gelato here... is an affair after the other. So many affairs. Lemon Grisbi. The little sugary crunchy bits which embed the gelato so perfectly! The lemon sorbet is like a very sweet, icy lemonade, but the Lemon Grisbi is the perfect lemon flavor gelato. Creamy like gelato should be, sweet, but not over the top (a Tuesday). Matcha is good. A small quantity is fine to cleanse the tongue of heavier flavors, but an excess can make you a little sick of it. (Coconut is the better palate cleanser.) Hazelnut is the best of the choco gelato/ice cream I've had in my life. And I usually hate chocolate gelato/ice cream. This means something. It does not make the eater tired of it immediately because it isn't as heavily sweet as Nutella, and the like. Roasted Almond? I've raved about it in a previous review.. why are you so good, Fainting Goat?

  • Mimi H.

Thank goodness for their hilariously unique name otherwise I wouldn't have found this treasure. By default, I am usually an ice cream person for I enjoy that thick, fat, texture, however this isn't to say that I don't enjoy gelato as well. They have the sorbets and gelato separated by section with about nine flavors each, most of which we sampled :3 We tried their Mastic gelato, which is made from goat milk but my bf didn't seem to favor this. Lava Cake with Salted Caramel Gelato & Hazelnut Sauce -- HEAVEN. IN. YOUR. MOUTH!! They heat up the lava cake when ordered so it takes about 10 mins but it is so worth it! It comes out warm and is actually more of a custard. The warm "cake" combined with some sweet ice cream is simply amazing. Pistachio & Tiramisu -- Deliciously creamy and flavorful. Pistachio was very nutty and not too sweet. Tiramisu was rich yet light. Definitely an indulgent treat so I am glad I don't live any closer to the area.

  • Talia E.

This place earns every star. Their gelato and sorbet selections are solid, including some flavors you don't see everywhere. I noted a mango jalapeno sorbet, salted caramel gelato, pistachio gelato, and more. I went for a waffle cone with a scoop of coconut gelato and a scoop of cinnamon gelato. My friend got a small sugar cone with cinnamon and chocolate. Our order totaled just over $9 I think. The gelato is creamy and flavorful. Scoops are generous. Cones are fresh. You can also apparently take a molten lava cake to go. It comes in a mason jar, cute. Good service, average ambience. No public restroom.

Scrumptious!! Surprised that Molly Moon's had their line out the door, whereas we tried some samples right away here at Fainting Goat. I wanted my sweet tooth fix after eating some sushi down the road. The gelato here was super creamy and delicious. We sampled a few, all of which were tasty, and ended up with the sour cherry and vanilla. Neither were too sweet--just right. And the waffle cone was pretty darn good, too!

I cried that I had to leave Washington because that would mean no more Fainting Goat gelato. This place is the greatest discovery I have made on yelp. It's a simple, small locale but my is it the greatest gelato within its vicinity. Also, the prices are great. About $5 for two big scoops of gelato on a waffle cone. My was that one of my happiest days. I had to get my two favorite flavors, mint and dark chocolate but I did sample the others. I can't say there was one I disliked. I wish I would have added a third scoop of hazelnut because that was the best. Not only was the gelato good but the service was wonderful. When we got there, there was a line but it moved very fast. Not only were they able to provide great gelato but also great service. The only sad thing is that I live in CA. Maybe that's for the best or I would have to live in the gym in order to indulge in all this delicious gelato. **I loved this place so much I had to buy a t-shirt with their super cool logo of the fainting goat!

Yummy gelato! Only wish they had more seats/it was more cozier. I recommend the biscotti gelato!

    (4)
  • Erin E.

The best cold treat I've had in Seattle and I enjoy the gelato more than the gelato in Italy. I highly recommend trying the unique flavors but the classic flavors of chocolate and strawberry are to die for. We come here all the time and it doesn't get old :)

they give samples. try before you order, not a big fan of ice cream so can't say how good it is but it's really not bad.

Not bad for gelato but not the greatest. The salted caramel and espresso were both decent but nothing I would have to order again or come back for.

Really good gelato- coming from NYC and having visited Italy I have a really high bar for gelato and this place doesn't disappoint. I have had the Toasted Almond, Pistachio, and Chocolate flavors and they were all tasty.

I could faint from happiness from having experienced such decadent gelato and I almost did from visiting this place! Aside from the ridiculous name, they are serious about their gelato. All the gelatos I sampled before deciding on two flavors were rich, creamy, and almost had the consistency of ice cream but managed to be lighter and not as heavy! I chose the coffee and the salted caramel which was a great combination together. The coffee was rich and the salted caramel was the epitome of what salted caramel should be. I also got to try some of their fun flavors like poblano pepper and it was surprisingly good, sweet and spicy. A small gets you 2 scoops of 2 different flavors if you wanted and it was more than enough. I also chose to get the waffle cone on the side to try it and sprinkle it on top of my ice cream :) They had other things on the menu but I was too full to get anything else. This was definitely my favorite ice cream/gelato stop in my trip and my favorite gelato place ever! Till next time Fainting Goat.

My sister and I came from Musashi looking for dessert and we saw Molly Moon along the way but got side tracked by this awesome sock store. Right next to the sock store, there was Fainting Goat and we decided to give it a try and it was definitely delicious. The lady who worked there was super nice and let me try a bunch of samples. She also suggested certain pairing such as the salted caramel and stracciatella (which is just chocolate chip vanilla). Their gelatos are super creamy and packed full of flavor. We ended up ordering the chocolate lava cake with a side of nutella gelato (go big or don't eat dessert, right?). The lava cake was a little runnier than I would have liked, but it was very yummy and the nutella gelato was absolutely delicious. I am definitely down to go back and try some more of their gelato!

  • Jen M.

Was served by the most joyful guy behind the counter- he had the biggest smile, was so sweet and helpful despite being the only one working on Valentine's night, and the molten lava cake + mocha crunch gelato were perfect. Ahh... Made up for a horrid previous dinner experience at another establishment that we had just come from. Thank you !! :)

  • Brent K.

Only in Wallingford can you pay over seven dollars for two kids ice cream cones. For a two-year-old and a four-year-old. They really enjoyed their grapefruit and biscotti flavored gelato. Maybe about as much as they would have enjoyed a dip cone from the DQ. Great gelato. But isn't most gelato pretty much great?

    (2)
  • Stefanie S.

I had friends visiting and decided to try Fainting Goat. I don't think anyone was really impressed by it. I liked the salted caramel gelato but my boyfriend did not like any flavors that he tried. I feel like it's a little pricey for the amount they serve you as well -- I was only given 1 scoop and still charged about $4, really?

Went here for the first time and had the mango habanero gelato. I usually always get the mango flavor wherever I go but they didn't have plain mango flavor. The mango habanero was good but you can't have more than a few bites - it was just too much. My sister got the pistachio flavor which was amazing so I might just get that one next time.

Based on previous reviews, I was really excited when we stopped in yesterday for a pre-movie treat. Unfortunately, our experience was not so good and our treats not so tasty. I got the lavendar-honey and my husband got the mint flavor. Both flavors were WAY too strong in intensity. I ended up feeling like I was eating soap, and his tasted like astringent. Not only were the flavors unbalanced, but there was something wrong with the texture. Instead of being creamy and consistent, my scoop was riddled with weird pockets of chunky goo (perhaps the machine was broken that day?). At the end of the day, I wouldn't be inclined to go back a second time.

"It's so fainting good" as they say. Gelato: the creamy delicious, explosion of flavor in your mouth. Nothing gets better than this. Many say that this place is better than Molly Moons but they are very different to me. Ice cream vs Gelato. They are not the same thing. This is an extremely good gelato place. There are about 18 flavors to choose from that change flavors daily. As of November 2013 the prices go: Small (2 flavors): $3.95 Medium (3 flavors): $5.50 Large (4 flavors): $7.00 Sugar cone: $0.25 Waffle cone: $1.00 The portion sizes for each scoop are fairly large and decently sized. I got a small and was content with the amount of gelato I got, it's definitely more than enough. Here are the flavors we tried: Coconut: filled with coconut flavor, definitely a must try Roasted Almond: if you love almond flavor you will really like this. It has a strong almond flavor with slivers of almond scattered around Tiramisu: almost just like the cake but in gelato form! Mint: refreshing and a nice after taste on your taste buds The waffle cone only seems good if you get three or more scoops because it fills all the way to the top nicely. Really like this gelato place and will definitely be coming back. I may actually faint if I don't. ;)

I might have ordered wrong? I had the birthday cake batter with berry and the goat's milk ice cream. Both have really nice and smooth gelato texture but I didn't find the taste extraordinary. The staff however are so totally amazing! Very friendly and super patient while waiting for us to sample different flavor and being totally indecisive. Way to go the fainting goat team!

The gelato is delicious here. I had the salted caramel gelato it was so good. There is definitely a difference in texture when it comes to this place. They always serve huge portions and they have a huge selection of ice cream.

Fainting Goat has my favorite gelato in Seattle so far. I love it. It is extremely creamy, with strong, quality flavor and not sickly sweet or heavy. Their goat milk gelato is refreshing! And I also love that they have a good changing variety of sorbet options ... a good place to take non-dairy consuming family and friends. I was in here the other day (June 2015) and they had six sorbet flavors, which is typical for them in the summer months. Staff is often young high school age looking kids and they are super friendly, generous with letting you sample any/all flavors, genuinely seem happy to have customers. I give this a thumbs up for good service, terrific gelato and a nice location.

It's sooooo good! I have to be honest, I was a little disappointed we were not going to Molly Moons for desert, but this place was amazing! The strawberry was superb. I also really liked the coconut. It is totally worth trying out!

I've been here a few times since my last review. Mostly because it's easy to park at the lot next door and come over. Today I had a brief argument with the counter guy about the ingredients of their sorbet. First of all sorbet should not contain anything other than fruit. Whatever it is that is in their sorbet makes it sherbert, as it is creamy. The counter guy assured me it is not dairy...I asked what was it then? He said nothing. I assured him blueberries were not that color in nature. He said "well I don't know but I know it is dairy free". Well if you, who are serving it, don't know what's in it then who does? I find the fact the counter person isn't educated as to the ingredients as well as the mystery cream in the "sorbet" to be a bit suspicious. With that I'm pretty sure this was my last visit.

Rude employee. She was a bigger young adult with reddish brown hair I believe. I had a Groupon, so I was planning to get four flavors in two pints. Naturally, i wanted to sample flavors to see which one I would get since it was so long since I've been here. The cashier snarkily said that I was sampling too much... The hell? I tried 3 flavors at that point. Forget the tip I was gonna give her if she acted like a normal frozen dessert slinger instead of being rude. She then had the audacity to tap the tip jar when I was checking out. Not coming back.

Really tasty alternative to "other" nearby desert options. It's delicious ice-cream that isn't any different tasting than cow's milk, so if the whole goat's milk thing sounds weird to you, don't worry. The folks are super nice as well. My four-year-old dropped her scoop out of her cone and they promptly gave her a new one in a cup, no charge. Recommended!

Went here purely because of a Groupon deal. The gelato was expensive as you'd expect. Good, but nothing to write home about, honestly too heavy handed with some of the flavors where it should be more subtle. Tasted a little richer maybe than some of the more expensive options you find in the grocery store freezer, but nothing spectacular.

This place is so good, definitely one of the best gelato places in Seattle. The gelato is so smooth and the flavors taste exactly like what they say they are. The pistachio truly tastes like pistachio, no mistaking it! I love the fruit flavors, peach, pink grapefruit are just a couple of delicious flavors. It's definitely worth a stop (or two!).

How I heard of this place: I drove by it once about a year ago (when they first opened) and was immediately attracted to the logo of an upside-down goat. I have tried to come several times in the recent months, but have been unsuccessful in finding them open or in convincing others to check out the new space. Type of cuisine: Gelato. In the winter they were also serving Italian pastries, but it seems that the gelato has become so popular and time-consuming that the owners have chosen to narrow the focus for the summer...and then see how it goes. Ambiance: Sparse. Four or five small tables line the wall and inner, front, corner windows. One leather couch and coffee table sits amidst the tables. The walls are yellow, bright and warm - a welcome sun-shiny feel for a cloudy, rainy end-of-May evening. The gelato selections, handmade with organic milk and sugar locally are presented just as you would expect to see them on the small Italian strade. What I ordered: Between the three of us only one knew what she wanted immediately. She walked up to the counter, eyed the selection and then chose the vanilla bean in a recyclable bowl. The other two of us narrowed it down to a handful, which we sampled prior to placing our orders. We sampled the orange blossom, coconut, hazelnut, espresso, salted caramel, vanilla, honey rose, and melon. I ended up with one scoop (half and half) of chocolate and salted caramel ($3) in a waffle cone ($1) because it was just made and still warm to the touch when offered. My friend ordered two scoops ($4.50): one scoop of melon and another of strawberry sorbet, also in a fresh-made, warm waffle cone ($1). What I loved: I was surprised to find that I really did enjoy the salted caramel. Often the trendy fad is too salty and just note quite right, but this one had the perfect combination of salt to enhance the caramel without tasting as if you had a sweet caramel doused or encrusted with salt. The vanilla bean was light and tasted fresh. The chocolate dense and rich. The melon also light and very summery, tasting more of real melon than a flavoring agent. The strawberry sorbet was more creamy than I'd anticipated but full of flavor. The waffle cones had a soft sweetness that could be enjoyed on their own or as a means of sweetening the gelato, which tended to be less sweet than most ice creams, still with bountiful flavor. Why I loved it: I love that we were offered samples first thing! Despite the line that continued to grow out the door until after 10:30 p.m. (they close at ten o'clock), the female owner gave a friendly smile, wished us a great evening and then asked if we would like any samples. What a perfect start! Try what you think you will like and order what you know you do! I also love that we were not rushed out, even after closing time. The owners did the work behind the bar before turning off their "OPEN" light, which gave the remaining parties in the establishment the cue that it was time to make our way out. I also love that a small mom 'n pop shop is doing so well, bustling and alive! Cost: Average ($3-$5 for fancy gelato)

Rarely do I go backwards, only onwards, but I do have to say i recently realized just how much Fainting Goat Gelato hits it out of the park, so I am revisiting my review to say Woohoo! I am still sweating two days later after eating their Mango Habanero sorbet. Holy heck that stuff is steamy. My nose was perspiring while eating a cupful: sweet, painful and terrific. I paired it (and you would think this would be overkill, but it turned out to be the perfect ying and yang) with summer peach for a sweet cool-down. I really appreciate that they compost their cups and spoons. This makes them unique in the world of frozen desserts, as you'll notice when you see the overflowing trash can at any fro-yo spot. Better yet, get a vanilla waffle cone and consider your tummy lucky as you devour that perfect goodness and leave no trace on the environment in the best way possible. It feels (and tastes) so good to be green! I agree there are a few flavors here that may not pack the same punch (at least for me) on the flavor profile, but with some great decision making (easy to do here as you can taste all you want) prepare yourself for some of the creamiest, silkiest gelato on record.

I've been coming to Fainting Goat for years now, ever since I started college at the dub in 2010. It's been one of my favorite dessert spots in wallingford. To be honest, and I know this may sound blasphemous, but I'm not a huge fan of Molly Moon ice cream. Thus, Fainting Goat has always been a better friend of mine than Molly! (Sorry Molly!) My favorite are: Pink guava, Pink grapefruit, lemon, pistachio and tiramisu. Pretty much anything on their menu is gonna be good. I have honestly never been disappointed at FGG. Their gelato is strongly flavored and sweet but doesn't taste artificial. I've read somewhere that gelatos are less cold than ice cream, and I find that to be true, especially at FGG. You're not gonna get a brain freeze that's forsure, but it's still pretty cold enough to cool you down on a hot day. The staff here is super friendly, and you can try multiple samples without them getting mad at you! The best! haha what more can you ask for.

Do you like frozen dairy products? Not interested in colossal lines full of anxious women at Molly Moon? You're in luck! These guys are great and often are in much lesser demand. Why not five stars then? You might get an old waffle cone. You might pick one of the more traditional and weird tasting gelatos. I could see how mistakes could be made here. Really though, if you have serious issues with a place that serves up more than a dozen fresh flavors of gelato, you likely need to get whatever large and uncomfortable apparatus you're storing in your ass and put it elsewhere. Additionally, they often have some other desserts in the fridge in the back if you are a highly difficult person who goes to gelato establishments and don't like gelato.

Came here last night with my sister, we bought the groupon which was $11 for $18 I believe. I enjoy fainting goat gelato because its like in the middle of ice cream and the light and fluffy gelato I've tried in the past. Its more thick and creamy compare to the traditional light and fluffy gelato. Wasn't a big fan before but now I am! Gentlemen helping us was very nice, we almost tried the whole gelato bar lol. But he also recommended his favorites to help us narrow down what we wanted. My sister got an Affogato which is 1 scoop of gelato with 2 shots of espresso, I got the Mint and Espresso... DELICIOUS! I would come back again even without the groupon. I prefer this place over molly moons, never really been a fan of mollys.

Delicious gelato. Don't buy into all the hype of Molly Moon's down the street. Fainting Goat is amazing too (and you don't have to stand in a long line). I'm a fan of the chocolate and espresso flavors, so I usually get a double scoop of that. I was curious and tried the goat milk ice cream. Let's just say you should sample the flavor before committing to a scoop. The taste is very distinct. Also, if you're lactose intolerant, they have 1-2 sherbet flavors available. And who can ignore the name? Every time I hear fainting goat, it makes me want to look up the fainting goat videos!!! Poor things freeze up and fall over when they get startled. :D

Who can argue with gelato on a summer day? Fainting Goat is definitely a great treat and I especially love the salted caramel flavor. The texture is perfectly smooth and whipped but some of flavors could use an extra punch. I tried the mint today and could do with a stronger mint flavor versus the more subtle flavor I got. Despite the name most of the flavors do not feature goat's milk. I love to try new mixes and blends so it's a bit disappointing that you don't get much of an opportunity to spice it up with goat's milk gelato and really see what it has to offer. Still, this shop is worth a visit next time you're in Wallingford.

This place is definitely a good place to go for gelato. Not only it is good gelato.. but I just love the name of this place. When I first heard of fainting goats, i thought it was a joke until someone showed me a clip of fainting goats! Now its your turn to go on youtube and search for a video of fainting goats for your amusement. Its not far off from other icy treats in the neighborhood however it still does very well. You have yogurtland, molly moons all within a quarter mile from each other. Got some tough competition! I like them all! I had the coconut gelato and it was very rich with coconut flavor and also rich with coconut flakes in them! Sometimes you may encounter a gelato place that will lack that full coconut flavor. I have yet to try other gelato flavors and i am looking forward to coming back. Chances are... i will likely come back in the winter time because thats what all Seattle people do... eat ice cream in the cold :) I would say they have a decent selection in comparison to other gelato restaurants. Its local and everyone should always support local businesses like this one! Come check this place out!

I did not get a chance to experience the gelato, so my review is not based on the food. I attempted to get two ice cream cones about an hour ago but because of a horrible employee I ended up walking out empty handed. Immediately when I walked in I began to look at the flavors and the girl working there rudely squeezed right in front of me and the glass (when there was plenty of room to walk behind me) without saying excuse me. I thought she might have been chasing a customer outside to give change or something that mattered but instead she was just giving her boyfriend or some other guy a hug and taking a personal break. Fine. I was standing in line behind one other girl who ordered a coffee. 4 minutes later when her drink was finally finished being made she proceeded to chit chat and talk about her bangs or some other irrelevant information. I don't know how long that conversation lasted because it was then that I decided to leave. Having to have waited almost 10 minutes when only one person was in front of me was enough. Show a little professionalism. (I did not catch the girls name but she was working at 6:00 pm on a 5/31 and has bangs) You're company would be better off without her. Also, it's $10 for a PINT of gelato.

The Fainting Goat is a cool little spot in Wallingford that I stopped in just minutes before heading to the SeaTac airport to head home from a recent west coast trip. Lots of choices, I opted for a scoop of chocolate and a scoop of coconut. Think Mounds Bar. It was delicious! Prices were reasonable, space was clean. My only wish was that there was a bathroom or a spot to wash my hands before moving on. Those little cups and funky spoons always throw me off! I'd go back if I find myself in that neighborhood again.

I loved it! i bought the groupon deal and went there for the first time, and i have to say, i am such a huge fan! though its near Molly Moons, i think i prefer Fainting Goat more, prices are pretty much the same. The flavors were so good, and service was awesome, they were all so ice. I actually like the waffle cones at Molly Moons better, but both are delicious! would def come here again... and again! If you go, try to earl grey! that's one of my favorites!!

Hmmm the salted caramel was not as good as I thought it'd be, but still good... The lavender was very fragrant and tasted almost the same as molly moon's. The tiramisu was just average I thought. I really wanted to like this place but maybe the fatty part of me still prefers ice cream. It's still a solid place and def worth a try.

After hearing so many good things about this place I finally got a chance to go. The gelato and ice cream was so good and smooth. I went with my wife and son so we each got a different flavors and tried a bunch out. I got 3 scoops: Vanilla Bean(My son also got this), Peach Sorbet, and Honey Lavender She got 2: Coconut and Tiramisu The vanilla bean was so creamy and smooth it was amazing. The peach was really good too. The coconut was really yummy with little bits of coconut in it. The tiramisu had great flavor that stuck in your mouth for a while which was great. I saved the Honey Lavender for last because it was so good, it was by far the best lavender ice cream I have ever had. Just the right amount of lavender and that faint hint of honey was so heavenly. A lot of places I've tried lavender ice cream overdo it and it tastes like perfume. Not here, it was done to perfection!

Came here for an after dinner treat and this place totally killed it! I was helped by Jessica and she let me try a bunch of flavors before deciding. Jessica was very patient with me (a very picky person). The vibe in this shop on a Friday evening is very fun and welcoming. Definitely will make this place a part of my weekend routine!

I got so excited for a moment thinking they would hae lots of goat gelato but they only have 1 kind and i didn't care for it. A greek tree sap flavor. The place is simple, clean, not a ton of seating. I feel a part of a good gelato experience is a good place to si tot enjoy it and i felt there wasn't good space for that here nor outsde when weather calls for it. they had a really good salted carmel which was strong so we paired it with a tamer flavor. My husband said the gelato was smooth, not overly creamy. they had about 15 flavors to choose from and a scoop cost $4.35 ish The girl helping us was nice and explained why they dont have more goat ice cream. aparently the cost is high, and supply is low in some seasons. she offered several sorbets instead but the issue is that when you go for gelato you want gelato. I would come here again if someone invited me who wanted to go but I wouldn't go on my own account.

This place is fantastic! Friendly staff, delicious gelato. They are fairly priced, and have a variety of flavors. Their salted caramel flavor is by far my favorite. When we went here, we ended up walking around the area because they were about to close up for the night, which was fun. Cute shop- highly recommended.

I love the location and vibe of this little shop. The selection of flavors and other menu items is pretty good. I typically try the pistachio at every gelato shop I go to. This was no exception and while the pistachio flavor was there and the texture was creamy and rich, the lack of large, actual pistachios in the gelato made me sad. Others in my party tried vanilla bean (which I heard was very good and after tasting it, I would agree) and an affogato, which was excellent as well. I had turkish coffee and it was good but not fantastic. A very solid gelato shop that I will visit again in the future.

So much better than Molly Moon's. Such good flavor + a lot of variety. Favorites: hazelnut, almond, lemon (that's actually the best one)-- there's little candied lemon in there too. Only cons: kinda pricey and the ambiance/store is not as nice or cute looking as a Molly Moon's. However, the ice cream or gelato is much better in my opinion!

  • Zeb M.

I know it's gelato, but this was seriously the best ice cream (or gelato) I have ever had in my life, and I am notorious for my sweet tooth. I tried a scoop of their honey rose and lavender last week and I'm still dreaming about it!!

  • Sylvia L.

Molly Moon wins the battle on salted caramel, hazelnut, coconut. Fainting goat is less flavorful.

  • Susan W.

OMG!!! I love gelato!! And I love the Fainting Goat!! I can't wait to go back & try more flavors. This time I had the Tiramisu & Salted Caramel. I took a sample bite of the coconut but wasn't crazy about it. A couple of tables & chairs inside & a few outside to enjoy your tasty treats. ;) I had an Entertainment Book coupon for buy one get one free up to $5 so it was very reasonable. But even full price would not be that bad.

Don't be thrown off if you're not into goat's milk, as they only have ONE flavor with it. The rest is made with organic cow's milk. This place is my favorite spot to visit in the neighborhood. I only live two blocks away, so I'm thankful for this healthier alternative to American ice cream (at least my waistline is thankful). The owners are so sweet and helpful. They really love their community and it shows.

This is my favorite ice cream option in Wallingford. Unlike a popular hipster ice cream place down the street, Fainting Goat has tons of flavors. I love how they are displayed in a lit up glass case so you can actually see the ice cream you are ordering. What a concept! There are so many flavors to choose from and they are extremely creative. I love sour cherry, almond, pistachio, and grapefruit sorbet. Every month or so there are new flavors to try and that's on top of their already big gelato list. I also feel like you have a better size choice than other places in town. The "small" at most craft ice cream places is what I would call an "American small." It can be way too much if you've just had dinner. Here you can get large if you want large, or you can get a pint if you want even more. But you can also get a small which is a completely reasonable treat.

    (5)
  • Susan C.

Like the bastard third cousin of Molly Moon's, Fainting Goat can never seem to catch a break. You look over at Molly's and the line's up the wazoo. You look at Fainting Goat and the line is a few people long bleating at the front door at best. This is puzzling, as Fainting Goat is far preferable to Molly's in terms of flavor for me. Fainting Goat has a few of the favorites on tap - Stratiacella (sp?) to name one, and they've added a good selection of sorbets (though stay away from Mango Habanero unless you have a deathwish. But IS inventive). For those who find Molly's ice cream too sweet as I sometimes do, Fainting Goat is a good alternative. There's a bit more seating inside than Molly's and a few benches outside as well. You also get TWO flavors for a SMALL size.

This place is amazing. All of their ingredients are local and organic! Must have more!!!

  • Jesse M.

Okay okay look Molly Moon's is my girl, I stand by her, I firmly believe she's the best in the ice cream business, but man if Fainting Goat Gelato is within a mile or two I'll head there every time. This place is unbelievable, man. Why is there not more gelato joints around? Dense, rich stuff. My favorite is the classic goat milk gelato (hence Fainting Goat). The flavor is mild, but the texture is noticeably on just another level. Soo smooth. Like I said, Molly Moon's is my girl, but Fainting Goat is just UMPH

    (5)
  • Rhona K.

For what I got, I'm not sure if it was worth it. In comparison to Molly Moons, their salty caramel is less salty, more mild (better tasting than Molly's in my opinion) but for the same price, they give you much much much much less. The small size is more of a ketchup cup than an ice cream cup, and their "one scoop" doesn't even fill it all the way up. Whereas at Molly Moons your cup is literally overflowing with ice cream, at Fainting Goat the icecream barely fills half up your little ketchup container-sized cup. I got the Sicilian Pistachio, my favorite flavor, I just wish I had more than two spoonfuls of it.

I have not taken to the frozen yogurt craze quite yet. That may change with a Menchie's opening down the street, but for now when it comes to cold desserts, it is ice cream, gelato or frozen custard for me. After a hot afternoon at Green Lake, I decided to get some gelato at Fainting Goat. It is located in Wallingford, not too far from a Molly Moon's and Yogurtland. By review totals, Fainting Goat is the most popular shop offering gelato in Seattle. The gelato is made with fresh local (cow) milk. That is with the exception of the flavor called Fainting Goat (Mastic) which is made from goat milk. They don't serve single scoops of gelato. Smallest size is two scoops which is $3.75. Three scoops is $5.50. If you want a cone, add a little extra for this. They also serve Turkish coffee and sell pints to go. There are 18 flavors offered daily. The flavors are not all the same everytime as they rotate flavors by season. I decided to get the two scoop and gave the Sicilian pistachio and Nutella flavors a try. Indeed the gelato here is good stuff. The gelato is wonderfully milky and the flavors for both of the ones I tried were consistently good. I would say the gelato is on par with Bottega Italiana at Pike Place Market. Though the flavors at Fainting Goat are a little different from the norm. There is not a whole lot of seating here. You might need to take it to go if there is a large crowd. The storefront is pretty simple, so ambiance is just okay. They have wi-fi which you will need to ask for the password. I did ask, but couldn't log in. Must of heard the password wrong I guess. If you are a fan of gelato, Fainting Goat is one of the best places in Seattle to try it. They have unique flavors that helps this shop stand out.

One word...yum!!! I really like gelato and this place has it pegged. The service is great, the prices are reasonable and the gelato is superior. I had Salted Caramel and Chocolate gelato. Each flavor sang a beautiful tune in my mouth. It was delicious and I will visit there a couple of more time before I live Seattle. Wish I had someplace like this back home...

This was my first time trying gelato, and I was a little disappointed with the flavor selection. After sampling honey lavender, stracciatella, and toasted almond, I almost didn't want to get anything at all. My boyfriend happened to ask about the sour cherry, though, and was told it wasn't very sour, so I gave that a try, and decided to get a chocolate/sour cherry waffle cone. The texture was like a cross between soft serve and ice cream. It didn't have the amazing richness that frozen custard does, and all the flavors I tried except the chocolate were very subtle. There wasn't much cherry to the sour cherry. The chocolate had about as much depth of flavor as your standard chocolate ice cream. The waffle cone was crisp and fresh, but a little thinner than I prefer. I'm glad I tried it, but it's nothing to rave about.

This place is amazing. Usually I go in the evenings and there are two young ladies there to help. But today I went midday with a groupon and the owner (who i think was the owner) was there to help me. I got two hand packed pints to take home (pearsorbet/ lemon sorbet in one + tiramisu/stracciatella in the other). I have had many other flavors from here before including grapefruit, pistachio, mint chocolate, and my personal favorite-- the lemon grisby (YOU NEEEEED to try this if they have it). in the summer there is limited seating, so just plan to walk around and enjoy wallingford while eating your gelato. JUST FYI this is way tastier than molly moon's. while i appreciate molly moon's for a different reason (over the top richness and overkill flavor), this is much better on most occasions.

Seriously amazing. The gelato is so decadently creamy and smooth. I had mango and pink grapefruit sorbet. The sorbet almost had an ice cream-like texture to it. Very smooth and not icy or grainy; I seriously had forgotten for a moment that it was sorbet. Grapefruit had a bold taste, while the mango flavor was more subtle. I LOVED both. BEST gelato I have ever had. This is definitely my new gelato/ice cream shop of choice.

I definitely prefer this place over Molly moons. In my opinion Molly Moons is too rich for my taste. I can never have more than a sample spoon. Fainting goat however, I could spoon in a whole pint without remorse. While limited in flavors the product is self is of high quality. I get the lemon grisby always. Lemony goodness with vanilla wafer bits inbedded in every bite ( if its out of stock I literally just walk out) lol. Second choice would be the sicilian pistachio rich but not overly aggressive. Get it in a cone/waffle and walk out holding hand with the nearest pedestrian. I have had the goat milk flavor(fainting goat is named after) it's like rosemary vanilla and very earthy( not my favorite) but I appreciate the offering.

Just happened upon this wonderful spot last night while exploring Wallingford. We could not find anywhere we wanted to eat dinner on that street, but I insisted we get gelato anyway because it looked too good to pass up. I figured gelato made with goats milk, plus the lines out the door each time we walked up and down the street searching for a restaurant were good indicators. We ended up missing the lines and getting in behind only three other customers. We quickly got our icecream. I decided on Stracciatella and Chocolate and my boyfriend went with Salted Caramel and Chocolate. I think out of them all, the Salted Caramel was the best, and I am not even a salted caramel fan. But this tasted like fresh churned caramel, like the little cubes that are soft and buttery and melt in your mouth. The gelato was delicious, the flavors were all incredible. I wanted to try them all, honestly. The ones featuring fresh raspberry, strawberry and peach were all high sellers as well. Will definitely be returning to this wonderful little spot if I am ever in the area! Too good to pass up.

I came here on a Monday or Tuesday night with a friend just past 8 and it was empty. I guess that's good in the fact it was easy to get a seat at one of the few tables they have there. This place is what I think of Seattle, chill, local place with its own style, personality. I got two flavors, espresso and stracciatella. I'm a chocolate, coffee, hazelnut fan so anything in that vicinity will usually sit well with me. Random thing, the logo looks like a crab at a quick glimpse. It's hard to discern its a goat floating. Nothing to do with the flavor of the gelato.

Fainting Goat does everything right. The shop is the perfect size, the flavors are interesting and make you want to come back to try them all, and the staff are friendly. I enjoyed being able to try two different flavors in a small serving. Just an all-around great place.

Yes, this is just another gelato place in Seattle. But it's gelato and it's delicous. The space inside is small and there is nothing to exciting about it, but if you're looking for ice cream as you are walking through Wallingford, then its great. I got the strawberry sorbet with chocolate and the sorbet was amazing! This is frequently compared to Molly Moon's, which is just down the street. If you are looking for softer, more creamy ice cream, then get gelato. If you want fresh waffle cones and deliecious toppings, then go to Molly Moon's. Both have interesting, and yummy flavors, and both are great. (Similar in price too.)

Waffle cones are just the right amount of crisp and gelato is smooth and savory! Definitely will be coming back again and bringing friends/family. I'm a poet and didn't even know it. I got the Nutella and Strawberry Sorbet flavors--a good combo! The only downside is that the place is pretty pricey when you put things into perspective--1 small cone = 2 quarts of ice cream at the grocery store. But it's worth it!

The best gelato in town, hands down. Made in shop and a great selection of crazy flavors. I think when I'm done I'm gonna get a scoop for the road.

Tasty delicious! Great friendly and patient service while my love and I mulled over the choices. Blueberry is my favorite! And there's a Groupon for 11 which gets you two scoops each (for two people) and a pint to take home (WHAT!). Amazing art on the walls to boot. My only suggestion: sell hot cocoa. Baby it's cold outside.

Chocolate and mint are my favorite pairing. All of the sorbet, strawberry and pear specifically, are incredible. I had a shirt visit in Seattle and will admit I spent a lot of time stopping here for a treat.

It's a small storefront, but it's one of the most delicious places in Wallingford - starting to like it more than Molly Moon's. They make their own sugar cones so the place smells fabulous constantly. They have a good selection of flavors - all very creamy - all locally sourced. They offer you tastes, and you can get a pint for $9 that will last in your car for a hot day's ride to the Eastside. (that's what I did!) Not great parking. Not a lot of seating, no spaces outside. That's the only downside. If you sign up for the FiveStar rewards program you can get pretty serious discounts pretty quickly at this place.

Best damn ice cream in Seattle. So creamy! And such good flavors! Always something exotic if you're in the mood - rose water, earl grey, etc. But even the standard stracciatella or chocolate are amazing. Actually, the chocolate is probably the best chocolate ice cream we've ever had (husband & son agree). And there's almost never a line, which is crazy because it's so much better than Molly Moons which is constantly packed. Just don't get it.

Yummy gelato. I also love the name and business card of the store. Very cute. Their flavors are good. I like the pistachio one as it is very pistachio. I also had one that was vanilla with some chocolate ribbons on it (forgot the Italian name) and it was awesome. The plain chocolate one is also very good and not too sweet. No matter the flavor, the gelato is very creamy. While it is not cheap at around $4 for the smallest size, I still think they give you a lot for two scoops. You can mix and match flavors.

This place's gelato is SO flavorful. The hazelnut flavor was so strong that I literally had a heart attack. I also ordered the mint flavor. Less impressive than the hazelnut but I'm still very happy with that.

I don't think I can go to Molly Moon's in Wallingford again with this place so close. This gelato place blew me away. It's rich, creamy, and flavorful, showing the full potential of what gelato can be. They use organic ingredients, and it's family owned. I don't know exactly what they do, but they have the right magic to make the gelato the best that I have ever had. My waistline is so doomed...

Reminds me of Ono Gelato back home on Maui. But I think this place is way better because they have the Affogato. Highly recommended!

I went inside on a whim. I ordered a doppio espresso and a small gelato (pumpkin spice). The gelato was better than I expected -- smooth and rich, flavorful but not overpowering. I was pleased, especially since good gelato is so hard to find. The espresso was also impressive. I swear, it was pulled perfectly. After letting it sit for a minute, the tartness disappeared and I couldn't believe how flavorful it was. I'm still very pleased, as it's so hard to find any good espresso cafes close to UW. The inside of the establishment is a bit lacking... outdated, slightly uncomfortable furniture. The place feels old and a little run down, but Fainting Goat more than makes up for it by the superior quality of their gelatos. While not as amazing as gelato I've had elsewhere in the world, it's definitely a place to try in Seattle. Service was good: for the most part, they leave you alone, but are very helpful and offer samples.

Awesome gelato shop!! The quality and taste resemble molly moon minus the long line. I highly recommend the tiramisu and virgin mojito flavors.. yuuumm!!! Lots of creativity in flavors and service is great. Outdoor seating is fun during the summer. Must try!

Love love their gelato. My favorites this summer are the coconut and the pistachio. I think gelato is a healthier choice than froyo, I'm glad that places like Fainting Goat are around.

If you love gelato, seriously, check this place out! My fianc had been here before so since we were in the area, we came here on a whim because he gave this place rave reviews when he tried it out. I had pistachio (that's a staple for me, I LOVE it) and salted caramel. SOO GOOD! The shop is small but cute and the people there are friendly. Cost-wise, I couldn't really tell you because I don't go out for gelato often, but it seemed ok? I got mine in a waffle cone, and the fianc got his in a waffle bowl which he told me they were both homemade. We didn't stay here to eat the gelato as it was full and rainy, but it would be nice to come here sometime and sit and enjoy some yummy gelato!

I stopped by Fainting Goat again and this time I got 1 pint each of Pistachio and Sour Cherry gelato (~$20. pistachio one costs a couple extra dollars as the guy at the store mentioned to me that the ingredients they used for pistachio were a bit more expensive than other flavors). They still tasted Yummm.....the ice cream parlor was a guy (instead of a girl like the last time I stopped by). Yet...one thigng still didn't change: the parlor person (how do I call them...do you call them gelato scoopers?) remains really polite, friendly and helpful like last time :) I also like the fact that there's a free 30 min parking right in front of this store to just stop by and grab whatever gelato need you have without having to deal with the typical parking hassle and frenziness that we Seattle-lites have to deal with. Note: also check out their daily deals on Groupon..they seem to have $9 for $18 worth of gelato deal up for a while...really good deal if you plan on visiting them frequently/for more substantial portions of gelato than just a cone :)

Huge long line. Couple dozen rotating flavors. Tiny little shoebox space. Recipe for success. They make this intensely flavorful goat's-milk gelato (you probably figured that out even if you've only known about the place for two minutes), and then they enhance it with dozen of different showcase ingredients. I had a scoop of the sour cherry, which had several whole cherries bursting with flavor even in one little scoop. I also had a scoop of pistachio, which was sweet and nutty and delicious. There was also a waffle cone somewhere in the picture. The service is friendly, and the prices are fair for this level of quality. It's definitely worth coming back and again.

Meh... Had a groupon/amazon local (can't remember which one it was) I sampled quite a few flavors before ending up with nutella and the lavender honey, but they still weren't anything amazingly special. I don't know if the flavors of that day were just boring or what but I was looking at their website and was hoping they would have like rose and green tea and more fruity flavors. Oh and the girl working there was rude, I felt so rushed.

Before dinner I already thought about having gelato. And, I saw Fainting Goat, which can kinda related to where I went to dinner, Stumbling Goat. So, friends and I decided to make it a "goat" night. Down side of this place is parking. However, we were lucky enough to park just on the corner from the store. That would make me super happy. It's not a big store. There are 5 tables, some chairs, and a comfy couch. My friends and I arrived and tried a couple different flavors. I decided to get coconut and avocado since they both are my favorite flavors. I loved my choice. I didn't know how big a scoop is. I ordered two scoops. It's A LOT. It took me a little while to finish! :-)

I really enjoy te fresh, flavorful, high-quality gelato at Fainting Goat. I prefer the sorbets for my belly, but I slip some salted caramel in often because I just must let it seduce my senses. Yum! Lucky for all of us, you can get two flavors without hassle for any size gelato - no need to pick just one. These guys have some really great flavors, a sweet staff, and great hours! It's my favorite spot to grab a dish with a friend and then wander around Wallingford or walk Green Lake. If you get the Chinook Book, you also get a BOGO coupon for Fainting Goat. When you visit, grab a punch card, yet another way to get a special treat once in a while for free!!

Anyone who has an unlimited appetite for desserts especially ones of the frozen nature love a good summer heat wave. Why you ask? It legitimizes making a trip to the local Ice Cream, Froyo, or in this case GELATO shop on a regular basis. What makes this place so good? The Mojito Sorbetto is quite orgasmic as you bite into it. I could literally feel my toes curl...it was that good! It had a perfect balance of sweetness, sour (from lime), and mint. Everything appears to be made in house and is priced well. Definitely worth your dollars and appetite!

I'm Italian, and I know good gelato, and this is AMAZING gelato my friends. I would drive for a whole day just to eat this again! The only downside, is that there is no bathroom.

Went here for the first time tonight! Honestly, I'm not a big fan of gelato, I usually just go with Pistachio cause it tastes the best to me. But this place, I have to say, is pretty darn good. I got the small cup. You're allowed two flavors - so I got the pink grapefruit sorbet (which was super tangy and just yummy and refreshing) and the sour cherry (it had a vanilla flavor to it but not too sweet). I'm a fan! I'll be for sure heading back sometime.

I have a major issue with this place. I need to pick 2 flavors for my small scoop...but how do I choose?? All of the flavors here are just so good... I end up being indecisive for a long time until I finally had to choose. (promising myself to come back for the other flavors) The lady who worked behind the counter was super nice in letting me try out most of the flavors before deciding. Last time I had roasted almond and hazelnut which were both very delicious. If you are not in the mood for Molly Moon's, definitely come here for gelato which is lighter and less filling than ice cream. But as a warning, be prepared for indecision. Be sure to check out the fainting goat inside. Ha!

Obligatory update, because Fainting Goat is now a slam dunk, no doubt about it five-star review. Ignore the sign on the door, because while the gelato is very good, it's the sorbet where this place transcends. The sorbet in question is the mango habanero, an unusual flavor that I was extremely skeptical about. But the flavor is fantastic, perfect balance of rich mango flavor and chile pepper kick. And the texture is sublime, better than any sorbet I've had before or since.

MUST TASTE GELATO & SORBET!!!! I was a proud supporter of Molly Moon's for many years but they only have one or two vegan option. I quickly get sick of their flavors. When I found Fainting Goat my world was opened to AMAZING sorbets!!!! The staff is awesome! the gelato is ineradicable and the best part is while people idly wait in line at Molly Moon's I rarely fine myself in a line at Fainting Goat! I just wish they were open a little later! You have to try the Lemon sorbet!!! It is to die for!!!!!

  • Lloyd B.

Nice, friendly, patient staff, we sampled 5 different flavors before ordering a small cup. Actually they were kind enough to put one scoop of two different flavors in two different small cups, nice deal! The gelato was creamy smooth and bursting with flavor. One of the best I've had.

I was first drawn to this place by its name, to be quite honest. And then I saw the glowing reviews... The Fainting Goat is a stand-out gelato place on 45th street in Seattle. Simply amazing. Decadent. Sinful. If I lived in Seattle, I would be at this place again and again (lactose intolerance be damned!) One of the best parts is that even a small size gelato comes with two scoops of two different flavors. They are patient as you try as many as you like, trying to decide which ones to get and combine. Waffle bowls are only $1 more and totally worth it. Who needs a spoon when you can scoop up your gelato with a corner of a bowl! I was with friends and luckily got to try their selections as well. I chose salted caramel (very rich and delicious) and nutella (a classic gelato flavor I can never say no to). Both were creamy and delightful. My friends both got the dark chocolate which was amazing. I feel that even if you don't like dark chocolate in bar form, you'd still probably like this gelato. I also got to try the mint, which was delicate and subtle, and the hazelnut which was a little sweet but also excellent. I can't say enough great things about this place. Worth a trip up to Wallingford if you're in the Seattle area. You won't regret it!!

  • Sarah A.

Mathematical fact: gelato is greater than ice cream. It's creamier and the flavors are more intense. Mint tastes like actual mint, espresso tastes like actual coffee beans, and so on. If that sounds like your jam, treat yo'self to some Fainting Goat. When a gelateria makes my fav's so splendidly, I usually don't branch out, so I can only attest to the pure delight of the toasted almond, pistachio, hazelnut, chocolate, and salted caramel. But, my bf loooves their eponymous goat milk and mastic flavor, and the nice folks behind the counter are generous with their samples and recommendations. Surely there is a flavor to please everyone.* Though there are a few tables and chairs, the ambiance is pretty dull. Luckily, I prefer to take my gelato for a stroll around Wallingford anyway. A neighborhood stroll + gelato = the best! *Speaking of flavors that please, is it too soon to begin a countdown for Autumn 2013 and the return of caramel apple? (If your answer to that rhetorical question is a resounding no, I think we can be friends.)

If you're yelping this while driving by, park the car and go get some Gelato. It is absolutely delicious and worth every minute you spend trying to find parking in the area. Hint#1 : when parking in the surrounding 'hood, be sure to check all the street signage. Some of the neighborhoods have designated parking requiring a permit. Hint#2: for you parents with the kids in tow, FGG doesn't have a bathroom. Visit QFC across the street first before getting in line.

I had the stracciatella? I'm not a huge fan of deserts, but it was pretty good. Had a lot of original favors and nothing too exotic, which I liked.

  • Suie C.

Finally made it in here! Taste tested a few of the flavors, but I knew I wanted the salted caramel as that seems to be the most well yelped. Was advised by a co-worker to ask for half scoops of two flavors instead of one scoop per flavor bc you end up getting more. Gotta say, good tip! I got the salted caramel and the espresso. The salted caramel wasn't exactly the best I've ever had, it was a tad sweet for my liking, but the ESPRESSO flavor was FANTASTIC. I love coffee. and I love coffee desserts. Perfect balance of smoothness with a strong coffee flavor. Bf got the salted caramel and something else....it was something with a long name and with blackberries. I taste tested the coffee crunch, but like the coffee flavor for the espresso was better. For one scoop (small) it was $3.50, waffle cones are $1 more. Good pricing, high quality ingredients, and tasty flavors. The fruit flavors weren't so special, but their other flavors were great. Will be back.

  • Teri S.

I am kind of surprised at the raves this place gets. I have been here several times & it is fine. But to me, the flavors taste overwhelming and sometimes artificial. I would never suggest going here, but I'm willing to go along if it is what someone else wants.I prefer the sorbet to the gelato & the grapefruit flavor is good. They now let you combine two flavors in a single scoop, and that is an improvement, but it is ridiculous that they don't offer a smaller portion for a smaller price.

Our favorite spot in Wallingford !! Wonderful gelato, extremely friendly staff, and a place I can get a great cup of Turkish coffee. Dangerous that it is in walking distance.

I love this place, if only for its name and picture logo. Fainting goats. So funny. (Thanks, YouTube!) The gelato is absolutely delicious, and they give you BIG scoops! A small is automatically 2 scoops, so yay for trying out more than one flavor! So totally worth it.
