ETG is the best. I love everyone who works here, and I love their coffee. They are literally the closest coffee to my work, and thank god. I swear my work practically lives at ETG, it's a good thing they like us! Thank you, ETG. Your pastry display is divine, all of them are heaven in the mouth, and your coffee is the nectar of the gods. Be warned: ETG is tiny, there's only three chairs outside, and one seat inside. Be expecting a wait for delicious coffee, but it's well worth it! ETG is like the Paseo's of coffee!

Everyone who knows me knows I'm admittedly not really a coffee person (I know - blasphemy in Seattle) so take this review as you will. As everyone says - this place is teeny tiny but with tons of character. A few friends and I dropped in for a late morning coffee while walking around Fremont and could barely all fit inside to order. The barista was Ms Chatty Cathy but not in a bad way - she was hilarious. We ordered a vanilla latte, a mocha, and a couple black coffees. I by no means would be opposed to visit here again but there are a handful of other places between my house and here that would suffice just as well if/when I do have the random coffee craving.

No cold brew but good iced coffee. They make their baked goods in house and they looked very tempting when they were plating them the morning I dropped by. Parking is impossible in the afternoon/evening but early morning (before 7:30) is fairly easy to get a spot right outside to run in and grab-n-go on the way to work. I would stop by again, especially to try out their baked goods!

Friendly staff, great decor interior - super small space and when I needed it the most, no bathroom. But anyway I enjoyed my cappuccino sitting on the old theater seats outside.

ETG comes close to being the perfect coffee shop. Why, you may ask? -A manageable drink menu; all items being made or roasted on site -Fresh baked goods. As in, someone local made them this morning -FRIENDLY, warmhearted, authentic baristas. My experience here was both delectable and delightful. My chai had an authentic spiciness to it that is lost in most coffee shops. The cinnamon roll: *Homer Simpson "mmmmm"* And my barista? What a good soul. No more words needed. Just GO! The only challenge that this shop faces is its lack of seating. Not every coffee shop needs to accommodate swathes of guests..it's just.. I like it there and want to spend more time in their warm, positive atmosphere!

Delicious espresso. Quaint shop. Friendly and efficient service. Amazing pastries. What's not to love? My brother recommended ETG for their espresso and I was not disappointed. The latte was full bodied and unpretentious. The waitress was inviting and it was evident that she cared about her customers. To complete the experience, by brother ordered a cinnamon apple raisin roll, which is somewhat braided rather than rolled, and it was fabulous! Soft in the center, full of cinnamon flavor, and the perfect accompaniment to coffee. Given the little time it takes to get your drinks, it's well worth a few minutes to stop in.

  • Amanda A.

Cute little place! There were 2 people in line ahead of me, so one of the baristas came around to where I was standing by the door to take my order. Thought that was really sweet. :)

My boyfriend and I stop here on the way to work. I get an Americano, and it's always perfect. My boyfriend gets a mocha, and he will argue its the best mocha in all of Seattle. If you ask they'll put homemade marshmallows on top. So good. Also, the baristas are friendly and funny.

ETG rules! This is my sweetie's favorite place for coffee and pastries. If they have hand pies, we end up buying a boxful. The ninja makes most of the treats here, and the things he comes up with are amazing. Whoopie pies! Faux hostess cupcakes! You never know what you're going to find. The cinnamon rolls are soooo good. I can't tell you how many vegetable sandwiches I've eaten from here! They roast their coffee, and it is so flavorful that my mom makes me ship it to her in Florida after tasting it on a visit up here. Seriously, I have to mail it to her every other month. It's the best!

Very small location, but with a cute vibe. The barista was super friendly and the latte was excellent.

Great fix for coffee and a pastry on the go. Coffee was smooth, hot, and did the job. Pastry was tasty, had the blueberry muffin. Those hand made apple turnovers look really good, nextime I'll try that. But in and out, very quick, plain and simple did the job for me - exactly what I'm looking for in a small little coffee shop. (To be specific for you coffee heads, had the roast on had and it was perfect. Didn't know which ETG batch it was, but even from a small roast company, it was on point!)

Actually right up there with my favorite. This place is tiny, tiny, tiny but gave me a great vacuum-pressed iced coffee. It was strong, even though not quite as dark as some of the others locally - but it hit the spot!

  • Megan H.

I work close by in Fremont and wanted to expand my coffee break reach. Came upon ETG a few days ago while walking around with some co-workers. No idea this wee little gem had been here for years! I got a quad shot Americano (needed the extra caffeine fix that day I guess) and it was great--excellent flavour and smooooooth. Next time I'll be back to try some of the tempting looking pastries.

Incredible customer service. The barista asked my name and gave hers, she was funny, so nice and very helpful. Great coffee!

Small magickal little coffee shop. Coffee lady was very friendly and just happened to make me the best double tall mocha I've ever tasted in this city. I have a new habit.

I love ETG and being a Fremont local it is definitely my favorite place to grab coffee! Consistently delicious drinks and great coffee beans for home. I LOVE their gluten free scones too! Always so delicious, great texture, not too sweet and they have different kinds each day. I would recommend ETG to anyone. (Just not a place to sit and gab over coffee, only two chairs and one table!)

  • Jessica L.

This place is fabulous. I had heard so many good things but only just managed to make it there this week. Now, I've already been back a few times and I don't think I'll be frequenting any other coffee place in Seattle as often. The baked goods are fresh, made by the same baker from the past 25 years. Whoever that baker is - he or she knows how to do it right! The blackberry coffee cake was especially great. The staff are very friendly and kind. It's nice to have people in Seattle who are willing to strike up a conversation for a few minutes. I would recommend this place as the spot to go for those passing through Fremont and in need of a sweet snack or a coffee!

  • Jennifer S.

Try the chai! Spicy, creamy and absolute heaven with every sip. Grab a cup and just explore all that Fremont has to offer (especially Lenin!) The owner always make wonderful recommendations and I love that they will customize orders based on dietary restrictions and allergies. My only regret is they are in Washington and I am in Arizona.

  • Jack S.

This is a good little coffee shop. We've stopped by two or three times now, and been quite happy with the results. They have really good handmade marshmellows they'll put in your coffee if you ask for it.

  • Brittney G.

Delicious coffee, homemade chocolate and marshmallows, wonderful baked goods.

  • Roarke M.

Basically the smallest quaintest coffee shop ever. My coffee was well made. Fresh backed treats smelled amazing.

  • Melodie S.

What a little gem! Great service with a lot of pride in their preparation of my coffees. The shortbreads were amazing. Definitely coming back when in the area.

Another coffee spot I love. When I am in Fremont...or close enough to make the drive worth it I have to stop here. They have great coffee and really know what they are doing. They also have excellent breakfast pastries (I highly recommend the blueberry scone!) You have to really pay attention or you drive right by this one. it is tiny. Park close to Stalin (you will know him when you see him) and then walk east.

  • Katherine C.

My husband is a coffee drinker and I walked in here to purchase a small batch of their own roasted coffee. I also got him a cup of their "Longshoreman." Not sure if I have that right....but he really loved that cup of coffee. He was making those mmmmm...sounds the whole time he was drinking that cup. The staff was friendly. The guy ground my beans for me and my husband has been using the coffee and he just loves it. I ordered their house chai tea. I thought it was okay but there was some flavor that really lingered after I would swallow that would just taste kind of bitter/harsh. It wasn't a really nice finish...

I have to say, I was pretty dissappointed by the coffee scene in Seattle. I spent probably about $40 on coffee in the 3 days I was visiting. The conclusion from my caffeine induced visit: ETG is the only place worth getting coffee in all of Seattle. Great coffee & espresso drinks and amazing selection of pastries, which are all baked on site. Between my sister and I, we had lattes, drip coffee, and an espresso. All of them were great. The shop is adorable, I love all the little vintage touches...including a working antique cash register. The baristas were super friendly and the shop owner was just so down to earth. I love that they roast their beans in such tiny (3lb) batches, that's how you know it's as fresh as it gets.

I was looking for a quick breakfast coffee before an appointment and stumbled upon this teeny coffee shop. Adorable atmosphere, speedy and incredibly friendly service, great price, and my mocha is fantastic. Will definitely be coming back!

Proof that good things come in small, (super tiny, really), packages! Hands down the best coffee in Fremont. Dare I say Seattle? And yes, Milstead is up there for me as well! Fremont, you lucky bastards! ;) Excellent home made caramel sauce and delicious pastries. The baristas are all awesome. Lori, the owner, is super cool and always makes it a point to talk to everyone as if she's known them forever. She's a gem! Love, love, love, ETG!!

    (5)
  • Tina L.

Cute little gem in Fremont. The coffee is solid. We also buy beans from them from time to time, in rotation with Lighthouse and Milstead (these two are our favorite coffee shop in Fremont). The mocha has the strongest rich chocolate flavor in the neighborhood. The pastry is A-OK.

  • Brian S.

Got harassed by owner/worker for standing outside by the entrance door making a phone call after they closed. Insinuated that I was casing the joint. Pretty crappy outlook to harass someone for using the sidewalk in front of your store. Won't buy coffee here!!

A+ for ambience, character & great coffee. Visited Fremont on Sunday & Yelped the local spots. Short wait & good reviews had me in line. I had a mocha & my friend a hot chocolate. Both were just perfectly sweetened without being over the top. Great flavor, not too much milk. The "icing on the drink" was the fact that we were offered homemade marshmallows in the drinks. Mine honey & my friends, pumpkin. Yummy, fluffy & just plain ol cute & sweet. As the baristas are taking orders & making drinks, the mixer was whirring away on the side counter mixing up another lovely goodie. The shop is decorated with wooden & glass display counters filled with mouthwatering pastries, a lovely working antique register and a pretty crystal chandelier hanging from a gorgeous painted ceiling. Don't worry hipsters, there is an iPad on site for running credit cards. Thanks Seattle for an experience outside of Starbucks. I'm a sucker for handmade food & small menus that subtly say, "Trust me, I know what I'm doing". This place is good stuff.

My friends and I came in during the Solstice Fair and received the worst customer service we have ever experienced. We ordered four iced coffees and the women at the cash register claimed one of us had not paid for our coffee. However three of us had paid and I had paid twice to cover a friend. She refused to believe I had paid twice despite the fact that I handed her cash two different times which several people saw. She then proceeded to call me "sassy" when I attempted to explain what happened and then yelled at us to leave. She then belligerently shouted at us out the door as we left (in front of a long line of customers) that we "aren't even tippers". Even though we actually did tip. It was absolutely humiliating. Its unbelievable that an employee would actually behave that way. I suggest that management seriously investigate this incident and re-evaluate this employee - we were in the shop at around 3pm on Saturday. There's so much great coffee in Seattle and next time we will be going somewhere else.

    (1)
  • Jessica B.

Coffee tastes great and rich. Sometimes they're open before their posted open hours (maybe just once..). SUPER nice employees. It really is "to go". There's only 2 chairs here, but it's cute inside. They serve tiny snacks of wonderfulness!! Snack size container of olives?! YES!

  • Elizabeth L.

Super charming coffee to-go cafe. Hand-crafted drinks made by expert baristas. Don't blink or you'll miss this lovely espresso corner - it's a tiny shop in the wall. Will be back to try the mocha, as prior reviewers have raved about.

  • Jay M.

I love this little place! It's charming, the coffee is excellent, and the staff are pretty dang friendly and sociable. Plus they have all sort of cool functional antiques crammed into the space. No seating, though, unless you manage to grab their one single table.

    (5)
  • Brian L.

Nice little spot. We ordered a large mocha and it tasted like the chocolate was powder and sperate from the milk.

  • Stuart R.

Good things come in small packages. Nearly walked by this little shop. Authentic. Perfect latte. A barista with personality and talent. Cinnamon rolls are incredible...just the right amount of icing for this sweet tooth! Going back to NY wishing we had a place like this.

  • La L.

Tiny little local coffee shop. Always a perfect latte! They even roast their own beans. Friendly staff and the best scones in town (light, moist, not too sweet).

  • Michael H.

We found this place on yelp and decided to go here instead of Milsteads. We walked in and were greeted by the two friendly ladies working behind the counter. Wonderful atmosphere although it was small. Only one small table to sit. My girlfriend I both got the highly recommended mochas and they were wonderful. She recommended mint in mine so I went with that I was very pleased. She even added a homemade cinnamon marshmallow to our coffees which we ate before they melted. We were able to find seating down the road in front of the Sinbad restaurant. Highly recommend this place!

  • Melissa C.

Very good coffee, yummy treats and friendly staff. Definitely one of the best coffee place at Fremont.

    (4)
  • Jason D.

Exactly what I thought it would be, something different from the mass coffee houses pumping out generic over flavored dark muddied water. A little cramped but quaint. The coffee was a joy!!!! Def must stop

  • Scott S.

Really great local business, they do many little things right here. Eric has been their baker for i don't know how long, he is a master of his craft. They bake everything in house in a tiny little work space. Staff are friendly, sociable people. The owner, Lori, roasts their coffee herself and the roasts keep getting better and better. If you look closely, just about everything they do has a handmade, personal touch. This is the kind of place that makes Seattle a great place to live. The only thing to keep in mind is that it's tiny, hence the name, Espresso To Go.

Was just checking out the neighbourhood and felt like I needed a little pick me up. Super cute store with friendly barista (baristess?) My iced mocha latte was yummy (although it wasn't as smooth as I would have liked - I guess making it iced got chocolate to harden up?)

    (4)
  • Julie E.

Oh my goodness!!! I was just served the best Americano I have ever had in my life. No joke. Rich, smooth, amazingness. This unassuming coffee shop is so small, it's easy to miss. Do yourself a favor and make a point to stop by. The shop is super charming and the baristas were very friendly. I will definitely stop by every time I am in the Freemont neighborhood!

  • Rossana Y.

It took me and my friend forever to find this place! It's quite small and tucked away, but it's worth it! It has a cozy and vintage feeling when you're inside. They use organic ingredients for their espresso, and it seems like they bake all their pastries and desserts there too. The coffee is really good and tastes really fresh. I also enjoyed looking at their random knick knacks inside, especially the vintage cash register. The girl working there was super friendly. Next time I'll have to try some of their homemade goodies!

  • Ryan C.

I very much enjoyed the iced coffee. It's tasty and light. A hip and quaint approach to coffee shops, which proves bigger isn't always better. Definitely worth spending some money here!

    (4)
  • Pica K.

Their coffee is good! Even I , who is not really a big coffee drinker, liked it. Their pastries are also good! Really small store, there is only one table inside. Store clerk was genuinely nice and charming.

  • Kim M.

This place is about the size of a moderately large closet. How they pack in so much character and great food is wonder. Love the Fremont neighborhood.

    (5)
  • Victoria V.

Everything about this place is perfect: properly pulled espresso and fresh baked goods, historical vibe, turns out it's been there forever as have the people that run it. Some of the best coffee in Seattle. The entire place only has five seats (three of which are outside) otherwise it'd get 5 stars all day.

    (4)
  • Tiff T.

Adorable, cozy space with a table for two, a pastry display case, and some sandwiches, hard-boiled eggs, and random knick-knacks (e.g., a small collection of kids' birthday accessories, honey rose lollipops). ETG Cafe offers muffins, cinnamon rolls, and different flavors of scones and cookies. On a Thursday morning around 10:00 AM, I ordered up a 12-oz cinnamon-y chai ($3 + 50 cents for soy milk that I'm not sure I was actually charged for) and a day-old cornmeal raspberry scone (discounted from its usual $1.95 price). I didn't even have to fight with anyone to sit at the only table in the cafe and chatted with the nice lady serving up the piping hot drinks. She even recommended a thrift store that everyone should visit called Frenzi: yelp.com/biz/frenzi-buri… ETG has a frilly, vintage feel to it, mostly because of the chandelier and antique cash register where your tab is rung up. But there are other details and nice touches about the cafe that round out the atmosphere, such as the bauble-ended stirring sticks. There's also a neighborhood feel to it: while I was there, most everyone seemed like regulars, and the barista knew everyone by name. The verdict: I really enjoyed visiting ETG. It definitely felt like I was experiencing something authentic to the Fremont neighborhood, and the eats/drinks were delicious.

    (4)
  • Yi Z.

OMG, this place is so cute and homey (the adjective, not homie, the noun). Vintage chandelier, cash register, tables, chairs, and just about everything. The girl working there informed us that most of the items are from Deluxe Junk next door. There is only one small table inside (enough seating for maybe 3 people) and a bench outside (2 more people?). Other than that, everyone else needs to stand or get their stuff and get out. The mocha was tasty and the pastries were good-although the guy in front of me took the very last muffin :( I ordered 1 mocha and 1 hot chocolate but both were poured our of the same container and tasted exactly the same to me. I was a bit confused but since the overall experience was favorable, it definitely deserves 4 stars.

Love this tiny spot. Really good latte, it had layers of flavor (citrus, nutmeg) it was really good and not boring.

I was in the Fremont area with an out of town friend so I wanted to hit up a couple places in Fremont. I always visit the Theo chocolate factory when I am in Fremont because very few things beat getting to sample almost every bar of fair trade chocolate before you even buy it. Between Eating Chocolate and trying out Paseo for the first time, I found ETG Coffee on Yelp and decided to check it out.. My first impression of this place is it has very delicious baked goods and some great tasting coffee. I was really excited looking at all the different types of scones in the glass case and ended up picking a fresh raspberry cornmeal scone. My friend bought a whole grain blueberry scone and we both ordered some iced coffee because ha, it was actually warm enough outside in Seattle to do so. We even sat outside the coffee shop to enjoy our coffee and scones. The overall design of the place is homey and old-fashioned. I loved the old time cash register, chandelier, and the colors of the walls inside. The only thing that would make this place better was if it had more seating inside. This is a place where you grab your coffee and baked goods and sit somewhere else unless, you are the lucky couple that get the 1 table located inside the place. There are also three seats right outside the front entrance. That is where we sat.

Excellent espresso drinks! Pastries! All with great service. Tiny place, so you might have to stand in line outside, but that's OK.

Wow, cute and tiny. The mocha was delicious!!

  • Brian K.

At about the size of a large walk in closet, ETG is one of the smaller coffee shops I have been to. I got a latte to go. Hot, good quality milk, good quality beans, nice espresso machine. Also - the coolest cash register! Vintage.

    (4)
  • Chris H.

Wow. This tiny little shop does not disappoint. Some of the best coffee I've had.

    (5)
  • Luke C.

This place is lovely. Super tiny little place, amazing coffee, ridiculously awesome vintage cash register. The only reason its only 4 stars: it's only open til 6. This would be a fantastic place to take a date for a late night coffee chat, but alas, that's not an option.

    (4)
  • Barrett S.

I never thought I could find a coffee shop that could top Zeitgeist for their amazing mochas, but was I ever wrong! Their coffee is consistently the best, and their baked goods (made onsite from scratch!) are phenomenal. I'm especially a fan of the shortbread cookies and raspberry cornmeal scones. Try the veggie sandwich for lunch- it's fresh and fills you up without weighing you down (and is certainly large enough to split with a friend). Perhaps it's for the best that there's only one small table inside; otherwise I would never leave!

    (5)
  • E D.

Old school Fremont place with great scones (whole wheat!) and wonderful espresso drinks.

    (5)
  • Stacy E.

I love this place! I have only been once, but the girl was friendly and humored my friend and I's ridiculousness. The baked goods were yummy. And there was a slice of pink cake marked "Special Treat"! I didn't buy it, but it looked amazing. I ended up with a cup of good tea and a happy memory of the vintage cash register.

  • Jackson R.

As I sipped my cappuccino and read The Old Man and the Sea on Sunday, I contemplated how more coffee shops should be like ETG. Authenticity is clearly a factor in their drinks, atmosphere, and service. My cappuccino was served in an antique china cup. Charming presentation and crisp technique! It was delicious. My friend ordered the mocha. It was the best mocha I've ever tasted. The house-blended chocolate drink mix is definitely ETG's specialty. Slightly bitter with a sweet, long finish. Next time, I know what I'm getting. Props to ETG for picking one thing and doing it well. They have a simple menu, friendly staff, and awesome vintage decor. It evoked the same feeling I got in many Italian coffee bars, where the barista cares about each customer, each drink, and each experience. Plus, they didn't balk when my and my buddy parked it on their only table for 3 hours. I would love to see more holes-in-the-wall like this. It's a nice change of pace and atmosphere from bigger coffee shops.

  • Gary F.

What a great neighborhood coffee place. With quality ingredients and a skilled barista, we had the best mochas we've ever had. We then topped it off with a lemon bar, also one of the best we've ever had. We'll definitely make this a regular stop whenever we're in the Fremont neighborhood.

  • Kevin A.

I can't remember how many years I've been going to ETG. All of my friends that have worked at Private Screening Vintage Clothing (just three doors down) have also worked at ETG and the old Long Shoreman's Daughter. Everyone there is like family. Beyond that, the place is a great little coffee shop! The coffee is really tasty, the staff is friendly (and cute!) and the snacks are different and wonderful. Hard boiled eggs? Yep. Yogurt and granola, awesome sandwiches, fresh fruit, pastries, the list goes on. And all within a "cafe" the size of my closet. I love ETG and I wanna marry it.

    (5)
  • Dastwood B.

Yelp defines five stars as "as good as it gets". Yep, ETG is quite possibly the best coffee shop in Seattle. I know how big a statement that is, and I don't say it lightly. Absolute commitment to quality, expertly self-roasted beans, unbelievably good pastries baked on site, and Seattle's nicest coffee shop staff. I am fortunate to work half a block away but it's worth traveling across town for this place!

    (5)
  • Jessica V.

This is the kind of tucked away little coffee shop that makes you feel like you are in Manhattan. With the old building and a single table I feel right at home as I enter. I have never hung out there, and I do not drink coffee... but they have a cookie - I never remember the name - almonds, apricot I think - it's jammy and crunchie and oh so good. I am forced to stop there often, especially when I am a little 11 o'clockish

  • Jennifer M.

I've travelled from across the sea just to get ETG's homemade dark-chocolate-truffle/ganache mochas -- with 2 long dark shots of espresso -- because there is nothing even close to this deliciousness that I've come across on the planet. Not that I've been EVERYwhere but I sure have been to many coffee bean growing countries that pride themselves on their offerings (probably imported to ETG). I've also gone to espresso-tasting bars and I'm telling you, there is nothing like the smooth, delectably-dark, deliciousness of ETG's espresso offerings (even the drip coffee comes up and out of a device that makes it taste dreamy-creamy good). The genius-baker, Eric, is a frickin' magician who bakes with organic ingredients EVERY morning (pre-dawn). I don't know how he does it in this small space but he bakes buttery designer cookies, 1950's styled cakes, a variety of scones, brownies, pecan bars, mini-cupcakes, shortbread, croissants, muffins and delectable confections that fog up your glasses with desire. They even have sandwiches, yogurt, protein-rich hard-boiled eggs and gourmet cheeses for those that resist sweeter fare. Run, don't walk, to give this neighborly cafe a try. Even the brilliant baristas (mostly local artists and scholars) aren't too talented to make funkifiable "small talk."

    (5)
  • J A.

My favourite coffee shop in all of Seattle. As local as it gets, with fabulous espresso and natural sweeteners like xylitol. And with a mini-fridge filled with homemade sandwiches, yogurt and hard boiled eggs, they make a great "I-forgot-my-lunch" stop.

It's hard to earn this title in coffee town, Seattle. But ETG Cafe, as small of a spot as it is may be the best kept secret as far as coffee goes in town. I had a cappuccino there and I only wish I could have one of those every day... simply heavenly! They simply KNOW how to prepare it.

Ok coffee, ok service without a lot of friendliness or much of a smile. Didn't match the yelp reviews to me.

The nicest people and the best coffee in Fremont are found in the tiniest space! Come for happy hour at 3 pm, and stay for repartee.

I've never had a bad americano from this place. The spot is teeny, but super cute. The staff members are always helpful, pleasant and make great drinks. A great place to pick up a coffee on your way to the bus. Thank you etg!

  • Isabelle G.

This perfect miniature cafe will be a set piece in the movie of my life. From the tile floor to the chandelier festooned with holiday decorations, this place sets the scene. The coffee is just right and the guy serving it had a great smile. Elbow to elbow, we ordered our drinks, then craned our necks around to take in every detail of tiny shop. It's Dickensian, with espresso.

The bus I needed was driving by. About fifty yards and several crosswalks governed by lights were hurdles between me and that bus. There was no way I was going to make it. Instead of cursing the situation, I stumbled into ETG and learn a little something about this place that has a neon lit sign that says "good coffee". Coco Rosie playing on the sound system competed with one of two people working at ETG to greet me as I walked in. One of the employees actually greeted me in the midst of a conversation he was having with another employee. Wow! Where was I exactly?! Immediate points for that right there. The friendliness continued during the entirety of my visit. The two staff members were comfortable with welcoming people and sharing information about the goods the establishment offers. The closet sized ETG is crammed with charm. A pic of Ganesh hangs on one side of the door and two monkey statues, maybe Hanuman, guard the pastries case. I gather from all the baking tools the pastries are made on site. Nothing is shipped in and placed in cases to grow stale. Nope, everything is fresh. One can even get fresh squeezed juice. Additionally, a nice variety of syrup flavors are available to add a splash of flavor in ones drink. A few ETG specialties are offered to patrons as well. ETG seems to have it all, except space. I sat down at one of three chairs able to fit in the miniscule place. However, I can't fault ETG for its size. This coffee spot makes an excellent go at offering fresh goods and great coffee. A very nice place indeed.

A tatt'd out hipster chick in a bikini and converse sneaks, waving to passers by as she fills up a kiddie pool w/ a garden hose? Find her at ETG in Fremont. It is here that you will also find excellent espresso and baked goods. In fact, I deem ETG the BEST espresso joint in Fremont, and I spend loads of time there. All pastries made fresh on the premise from organic ingredients. The coffee is awesome and strong and they've got the good syrups if you're lookin' to dress up your drink somethin' sassy. It's teeny tiny- only about 3 people fit- and not comfortably, but they're super nice and cool and their day olds are cheap (and tasty). I'm partial to the PB cookies. Oh, and PS- they're KEXP members too, which matters b/c it's been proven that businesses that support commercial- free radio run a better business and make a better latte. I'm just sayin'. Two thumb(print cookies- mmmm..)s up.

My office is currently without A/C. Even as I am seated and type this now, in July's summer heat, the office is warm enough to cause sweat running down my back. Desperate for relief, and down to my undershirt and cargo shorts pulled high above my knees (SCAN'LOUS!), I exited the building and sought an iced Americano. I'm not a Starbucks 'mo, I don't see any reason to shell out fun tickets to the McD's of coffee, and Peet's done did me wrong, so I set out to seek a better oasis. If Omar Sharif was in his 30s - and gay - then--I don't know where I was going with this, it's too effin' hot in here. JESUS. e.t.g. is a small, small, small cafe with amazing personality. My iced Americano was affordably priced, made exactly to order, with nary a lick of attitude. I'm in love. That is all.

ETG is positively the BEST coffee in Fremont and likely the city. Their coffee is consistently SO smooth, I can actually drink it without sugar. That is saying a lot coming from me. It's also a very friendly, neighborly atmosphere which is essential to a good morning ritual. I LOVE them!

ETG is hands down the best coffee in Fremont and the chill, laid-back friendliness of the staff is worthwhile in itself. Minus one star for the oh-so-tiny space and the patron frequenting the ONE table in the 5-ft radius with the newspaper who gives you the evil eye for getting all up in their space. Bottom line- get your coffee to go and you won't be disappointed. Nice little selection of fresh baked goods, sandwiches and other fun edibles also.

I've only ordered the cafe americano, but it's so good! I have no idea what blend of coffee beans they use, but shoot, it's delicious!

It smells like butter and sugar in here and I challenge you to NOT buy a cookie/pastry. They're REAL good. This is the first faux finish that I can actually get behind. High five for decor - classy, quirky, cute. A safe bet with the coffee and customer service: always top notch.

Love this place. Don't frequent here anymore due to location but they do lovely coffee, have fresh nutmegs to grind up on your coffee, and DAMN the foods are great. I remember pizza thangs and their veg sandwiched (esp in the summer) truly awe inspiring. A nice square sandwich wrapped in wax paper tied with stinky twine enclosing lovely bread with all manner of gorgeous veg, including sweet peppers, tomatoes (the good ones!), fresh torn basil, and a nice slab of some kind of mozzarella or farmer's type cheese. These would sit in the case at room temp and just get tastier as the cheese softened and the basil infused the whole thing. Never thought a veg sand could make the hairs stand up on my neck but I'm almost drooling right now remembering them. Do they still make them? The last time I had one was over a decade ago...but I bet they do. This place rules and deserves to be heavily patronised.

I love this place, my shop on Capitol Hill is an homage to this place, I used to get my morning coffee here in my socks (years ago) now I love to sneak over to Fremont and remind myself how great a tiny hole in the wall can be. LOVE LOVE

They're right next door to me & all I can say is OMG! I love the coffee here - yep, it's my coffee crack! I've turned a couple of friends of mine on to their coffee & now they're mad at me because I ruined everyone else's coffee for them & they can't make it here every day! The people that work at E.T.G. are awesome too!
