Good neighborhood store for getting your daily essentials like milk and bread and they have a decent wine selection too. The young guy who works here is also super friendly.

All I can really say is that I was severely disappointed in my pannini today. After reading Erynn's review for ESM, I was very excited. I had the Cascades on a roll and bascially the entire pannini was a roll with a piece of meat with peppers. I would hate to compare ESM to Subway but if all of the lunch options are comparable to what I encountered today, I am going to have to take my business to Subway. I hope that Eastlake had more lunch options for me. There does not seem to be many good lunch options in the area that have good quality at a fair price.

I am not sure why this is considered a specialty market, except for maybe because it sells sandwiches. My rating however, is purely on this place as a market. It is tiny. There is a very small beer and wine section, there is a small selection of most everything else and the prices are too high. One merit is that it is open until 10:30 pm, however, when I walked down there at 10pm one night, it was pretty desolate and I was harassed by two shady guys sitting around the grand central bakery patio. Maybe after trying a sandwich, I'll change my mind.

Such a great deli alternative for the sparse Eastlake eateries. The sandwiches are great, and reasonably priced (most panninis are $6.99 and fill me for hours. Always friendly staff and well-stocked with most any beverage you need (soda-beer-wine) I keep meaning to try a new sandwich every time I go there, but I always end up ordering the Space Needle Special Pannini (turkey, pesto, pepperjack, bell peppers) because it is one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Their breakfast egg sandwich is tasty, and their chicken teriyaki lunch special (M-F only, I've heard) is good, but not as good as their sandwiches.
