My boyfriend wanted an ube cake for his birthday, and with some research, I concluded that this was the place to go. I placed an order for and half sheet ube cake with seahawks themed design ($60). It was perfect and done very neatly. And the cake itself, so good! Very light and moist. The best part of my experience would have to be the customer service. The cake decorator was very accommodating about my cake design with the time crunch that I had. And even more of a time crunch, the day I was going to pick up the cake I had a million errands to run and I was running behind on picking up the cake. I called and notified them that I was on the way and the ladies that were working would stay later for me. I finally arrived there and they were finishing closing the shop down. They let me in, after hours, to pick up my cake. I was so greatful to them. I've worked at a bakery and honestly that shit would've pissed me off lol but they were so sweet and I tipped them well, best believe. I will definitely order from them again, and will give further notice when I want more detailed designs on my cake. Such a sweet company, no pun intended. (This was back in October 2014 and I still remember the great experience!)

One of two bakeries on Beacon Hill (Mimi's being the other). -Friendly older Filipina ladies that are super nice to customers. -Pretty tasty ube (taro) rolls and ube sheet cake. -The pandan cake is pretty decent as well. -Apple fritter is really good, but the French Cruller was just average. Park at Red Apple and walk over if their lot is full. I think there's a credit card charge.

Great cake for a reasonable price. After poking around Yelp for somewhere to order a cake for my grandma's birthday, I settled for Delite based on all the positive reviews. For $62 I ordered a half sheet vanilla cake with a layer of strawberries in the middle. I bought the cake for a party of 20 and after everyone was served, there was still half a cake left. So, if you have around 20 people, I would recommend sticking with a quarter sheet. The cake was delicious and very reasonably priced. I'm mainly giving four stars instead of five because the amount of strawberries in the middle was very minimal.

I've ordered cakes here countless times so I felt the need to leave a review. Service is always great here. I ordered a 1/2 sheet Ube are for my friend's mom's birthday last Monday for last Sat and I thought there would be an issue since it was a big cake with just a week notice but I was wrong. The workers here are really sweet and didn't have a problem when I would call to add things I wanted done to the cake. I should have gotten something smaller because I did not realize how big 1/2 sheet was haha. I think we had half the cake left. Oh well more for me! I love ube cake. It's definitely my favorite. I always order my parents birthday cake here and haven't had any issues so I'll continue to order cakes here.

INTERIORS: When you enter this bakery you won't think that they can make thise big beautiful cakes or that they have anything special in there. It is in an old corner but the cakes are delicious. SERVICE: They prepared a cake for me at a short notice of two days so I should appreciate that. I had to pay about 140 bucks for a heineken beer can cake and frm watching al the episodes of cake boss I know that it was a big price for a small and easy cake that wouldn't have taken more than 1 hr to prepare. But what disappointed me was the size. It was about 8 inches long by 4 inches in width and about 4 inches in height at the tallest point. This cake was meant to serve 20 people but if I wanted to serve each one a generous slice this cake won't suffice. TASTE: The flan was a little too sweet for my liking but I liked its heavier texture. I also tried the chocolate cookie which was really nice along with green tea cake slices filled with coconut custard filling. Yum.

They made the most amazing cake that I've ever seen for my little monster's 2nd birthday. We literally gave them a picture of what we wanted the cake to look like and it was like they took the picture and blew it up into a cake lol. The cake looked so good that we didn't even want to eat it but it not only looked good, it taste good as well. I'm not a big cake fan but the cake was so light and fluffy that I actually had 3 or 4 pieces. They definitely will have my business for life if we need a cake for any occasion. Oh and they also have traditional and Filipino pastries that I haven't tried yet but look delicious!

My favorite bakery! Bacon Maple Bars, empanadas, ham and cheese croissant. You're welcome.

Visited this place because a friend recommended. I was told to go there early. I went bought 1 chicken siopao. It was warm and steamed well. I got to my car - it was already half gone. Then by the time I started my car - it was all gone. Went back in and ordered more. YUMMY. Definitely a good place to grab some food and bring to park and enjoy. But definitely don't recommend keeping food for storage - it's meant for eating right away.

This place is a great local bakery. The pan de leche and pan de coco are particularly good, and a number of supermarkets in Seattle sell their breads. They also make good cake. Their egg tarts are decent, but the crust tends to be a bit too moist. Overall it is a great local place and I would recommend it.

Thanks to Yelp I randomly found this place based on a frantic search for doughnuts! What a find!! First off, it smells absolutely heavenly inside, and the spotless glass cases are filled with a fantastic assortment of sweet yummies. I could have lingered for a long time, but it's likely that standing there and salivating might have been vaguely frowned upon, which is not to say that the service wasn't friendly, it absolutely was. I wanted to try some of the Filipino treats but was lured in by the ginormous and fluffy cronuts. They were divine! I may have missed out on all sorts of yummy goodness, but those cronuts were simply amazing. Fantastic blend of rich buttery croissant and light yeasty donut...liberally coated in a sweet glaze? Yes, please. I was thrilled with the contents of my little brown bag and would return in a heartbeat! Yum.

Was excited to come here because of the ube treats. Sadly, found it a bit underwhelming. Ube donut was ok, ube cake was dry with the frosting and cream filling overpowering the flavor of the cake itself. On the plus side, prices are great here. If you're nearby, it's a good value, but I wouldn't make the trek from north Seattle here again.

I ordered a large order of lumpia for a party. The lady (Yvette) said they would be ready by 5pm. When I called back to confirm it was ready before driving there another gal (VERY RUDE) answered the phone and told me they were all out. VERY POOR SERVICE!!!

  • Philip Andrew W.

So far I've tried several pastries and doughnuts, all of which were great. You can really taste that they use real butter and cream and likely a high end flour. I was also impressed the prices were lower than I expected. Staff is polite, sometimes there's a small line waiting, but only because they can be busy at times and that's not a bad problem to have.

  • Fletcher B.

We LOVE their UBE CAKE. It's a favorite birthday cake in my house and we order it often. Only issue I have is with their phone system. Every time one of us calls, they say they can't hear us and make us repeat everything three times. (I feel kinda silly shouting cake orders.) I call lost of people and lots of places and it's only this place that I have that problem with ..so.. I think it has to be on their end. It's a real testament to how GOOD the cake is that we're willing to put up with that..

Hubby and I both discovered this place around the same time - separately - and told each other "you have to try this bakery I found!". I love there rolls and ube cake, he loves their pastries and coffee. Unfortunately, we no longer spend much time in this neighborhood but trust me next time I drive by and it's open, I'll be stopping in!

I have given this bakery 3 chances. As much as I would like to like their baked goods, it never happened. Not sure why people rave about their ube products... I tried their ube buns and ube cake. Both were disappointing, if not disguisting. The purple stuff they had as the filling in their "ube" buns was merely some tasteless purple sticky jello-like stuff that tasted nothing like ube but a sugary paste. Their "ube" cake was just a big piece of plain cake that was purple. In fact, the cake itself was next to tasteless. Even generic sponge cakes you get from QFC or Safeway taste better than their "ube" cake. Neither the "ube" buns or "ube" cake taste anything like ube at all... But the staff was always friendly every time I went there. For their friendliness, I give them a star.

By far the best baked goods I have ever had in Seattle, and by far the best price. The staff is so friendly too!

Delite Bakery makes the best ube treats in Seattle. They supply to a lot of surrounding filipino markets like fou lee so it's always made fresh. Not only do they have delicious ube, they also carry a wide variety of cakes, pastries and donuts. They also make some impressive looking wedding cakes. I bought the green swiss cake roll on display in the front, and it was super moist and delicious. The cream rocked. This is the premier hotspot for baked sweet goods. I love Beacon Hill!

  • Michelle T.

Not what I expected since I always hear this place is THE BEST... Well, it isn't in my opinion. I know other deli's that are better with better customer service... I did not like the service I received here & the people there seemed mean! Though their pastries are good, but it also isn't the best.

  • Jens J.

Mostly a supermarket variety of baked goods, but with a few Filipino items as well. The "old-fashioned buttermilk doughnut" I purchased was not dense enough (over-yeasted). And in the yum department, its flavor was not compelling. The little stuffed Filipino pastries were somewhat dried out, but taste-wise, pretty good. The Delite Bakery owners apparantly also own that fine five-star restaurant Inay's. The same firebrand waiter, Louie, that works at Inay's was working the DeLite counter this morning.

Please read this review before you order a cake from this bakery. It saddens me that I have to update my review to one-star, but I had an experience here this past weekend that I feel like is completely unacceptable and was a huge source of stress for my family and I. My daughter had a birthday approaching, and I called about ordering a custom cake and was told I needed to come in during M-F from 9-3PM to speak face to face with the cake decorator. Initially, I was unable to do that because of work so I called and was able to speak with the cake decorator, Louie, who said he would email me a picture of the cake he could create for me. I never received the email, so I made it a point to come in while he was there on a Thursday and he insisted that he emailed me the picture, asking "Are you sure you didn't get it? ARE YOU SURE? Are you SURE?!" Yes, I am SURE, I know how to check my email! Lo and behold, he had sent it to the wrong email address. That's fine, things happen, but the cake decorator was able to take my cake order FACE TO FACE as I watched him write it down and I paid the deposit and was told I could pay the remaining balance when I picked up the cake. The day for me to pick up the cake finally comes and I had an event to attend out of town with my hubs & daughter, so I sent my dad to pick it up for me. He calls me in the middle of the event I'm attending to tell me that THERE IS NO CAKE. I repeat, THERE IS NO CAKE. They said that it was for May 4, 2014 -- UM NO. MAY 4 IS A SUNDAY, YOU'RE NOT EVEN OPEN ON SUNDAYS. The cake was supposed to be ready on April 12, 2014 at 4PM for a party happening the next day. If there was some confusion about the date, they had my phone number and they could have easily contacted me to sort it out. They gave us a free small sheet cake in an attempt to rectify the situation and I appreciate that they were apologetic, but really this is UNACCEPTABLE. The cake decorator, Louie, is not there on the weekends I might add, so I felt bad that the staff there were not really at fault, but at the end of the day if this is supposed to be a business and I am paying for a product, things like this shouldn't be happening. This was a huge source of stress for me considering the fact that I was out of town that day and would be hosting my child's birthday the next day for approximately 40-50 people WITH NO CAKE. I had them refund my money to my dad, and ended up ordering a cake from Borracchini's, which went so smoothly and perfectly even with such short notice (review to follow). I am sad to say this because I love supporting my fellow Filipinos, but I will probably never come here again because I feel like this was such a ridiculous situation and massive f*ck up. I promised my daughter a custom princess castle cake and she held up her end of the deal by doing extra reading and chores without being reminded/asked, so it was very sad for me to tell her the night before her birthday that I wouldn't be able to come through for her. They should be more accountable for their practices and at the very least, provide customers with a receipt or some sort of confirmation that shows the details of their cake and pick up time rather than just the receipt for payment.

Being Filipino, I can honestly say this is one of the best Pinoy Bakeries I have ever been to. I don't know where to begin as to what exactly to order, but I love their siopao, which others would know as "humbao", Taho (sweet tofu in syrup), Karioka (deep fried sugar and dough balls), Turon (deep fries banana in brown sugar), Pan de Ube, Egg Pie, Empanada (bread with pork and vegetable inside), Pan de Sal sandwich (tastes a bit like the "Lady's Choice spread from the Philippines) and Hopia (any kind is delicious). The staff here are amazing. I have never had a bad experience with the food or staff. :) Non-Filipinos should take the drive over here, I'm sure you won't regret it!!!

Three words: Bacon Maple bar. I know we've sent things to Mars and farther away. Bill Gates and Andy Grove helped give us computing power. But Bacon Maple Bars. Seriously....they have great pastries and excellent service. Forget Top Pot...too Seattle and forgot Crispy Creme...they're gross. This is true PNW authenticity.

To all my fellow brothas and sistas, this is the bakery to go to! A Filipino bakery, this place serves various pastries, donuts and desserts. Its hard to explain exactly the type of pastries they sell because it isn't exactly the ones you see in your average bakery. My personal favorites are the banana bread, and trust me when I say this is the ONLY place to get some good banana bread. I also like the hopia (mango) and the different desserts as well. Dude, you've never had a better tasting cake unless you've tried a piece of ube cake. Ube (oo-bay) is purple yam. Sounds gross but really good. I wish I could explain more in detail about the type of food they sell here, because they do also sell pork rinds (again, don't hate unless you've tried it) but I can't, but they do have high ratings for a reason. Give it a try and tell them George sent you. They don't know me, but still, it's good to get a little recognition. Ps. S/o to Emma Go cuz she said so.

By far one of the best bakery's in the city! The staff is so friendly and fun, honestly the selection is beyond amazing and oh my god the custard pies are DELICIOUS!!! A must have on hand for any occasion! I tell all my friends about this bakery!!!

After reading all the other reviews, I now know that I have GOT to try the Ube cake. That said, our favorite items at Delite Bakery are the apple pie and the oreo cookie cheesecake....by far! My daughter goes absolutely nuts for the pie, and I love the cheesecake. My co-worker always brings their donuts in, and they are pretty good, but a little too "airy" for my taste... I already have my own favorite donut place. Think that I'm now gonna stop there on the way home from work!

Just went here for a wedding cake tasting. Currently living in CA but having my wedding in Seattle this summer. I came all the way here over the weekend and this place has horrible customer service with mediocre wedding cake. They stuffed 5 different wedding cakes in a "to go" type box, we paid $15.00 and that was it. There was no "consulting" involved at all. The wedding cake was just ok. I had high hopes for the taro and pandan cake but they tasted like something I could have made out of a box...no flavor at all. The other cakes were just ok too but what I believe to be their butter cream frosting was pretty good. When I went to speak with the cashier girl and ask her some questions about pricing she said "I told you you would not be able to talk to the baker today." She did mention the baker might be busy when I called to make an appointment but I thought that was kind of rude that she said that. When I asked her if she had any ideas about pricing and about how many people the display cake could feed she said "I don't know" and that was it. WEIRD.

Just moved to Beacon Hill and discovered this little gem of a bakery! I love, LOVE, LOVE the donuts served at this place - both mouthwatering delicious and super cheap! While the staff seem pleasant, I couldn't help but overhear one of them make a stink with the other over something during my last visit. The final words of that conversation were, "If you do that again, you're fired!" Yikes! I think there is a certain time and place to have that conversation and it's not in front of your customers. Other than that, this place rocks!

This really is as good as it gets. If you want a nice moist soft cake everyone will love. Come here. I swear I have never had a negative comment about this cake in any of the birthday parties I or my family have hosted with this cake, which have been like 10+. Seriously...don't even hesitate about coming here or not, their cakes are fresh, delicious, not too sweet, their frosting the same. Their work is clean, and I love their regular birthday cakes. I think I might even have my wedding cake done here in the future, I will definitely post up photos soon of the work they do. My favorite combination is Taro with Coconut filling. Its not even a crazy flavor, my asian family loves it and my husbands mexican family and friends love it. GO HERE, it is worth the money!

This is a great family owned bakery, they have a wide selection of baked goods and they also offer cakes, ube and chocolate. It would be nice if they did mango or pandan even! Selection is always nice. Otherwise great hours, service and good food as always.

Their ube cakes are the reason I come here. I like cake but I do not like overly sweet cakes and frostings. I get headaches if I eat anything with buttercream frosting. They use whipped cream frosting which is not sweet at all and it compliments the ube/macapuno cakes perfectly. They do have buttercream frosting if you wish to have your cake frosted with it. My husband loves the apple turnovers and doughnuts here, particularly the maple bar and sugar donuts. They are huge and delicious. They also have hopia, carioca, sylvanias, pan de sal, pan del leche and so much more. I buy taho every once in awhile. If I do not want to drive all the way to the bakeries over at Southcenter, I usually come here. 13/30

I'll be honest, I was in love with the ube bread and had an ube birthday cake every year. Being Filipino and residing around the area, for years this was the only place you can have Filipino treats. I've almost forgot what ube TRULY tastes like and how rich the flavor actually is. The ube that delite uses doesn't have much flavor now that I've tasted the ube bread from Valerio's in Southcenter. The ube Delite uses tastes like some sort of play doh concoction. If you've had the real ube, the actual sweet potato from the Philippines and how it's actually cooked. You'd know what I am talking about. Don't get me wrong, I'm not disrespecting them, and I still purchase teir ube bread time to time to fulfill my cravings. But sometimes it just doesn't taste as good as others. I still love the bakery.

I've been going to Despi Delite Bakery for ages, a great Filipino-centric bakery in Seattle. Yes and better than Goldilocks! Also, really friendly counter staff and very patient as one ponders the large selection in their pastry case. Monstrous fresh doughnuts, especially the glazed or sugar twists 'pilipit'. Breads. Rolls. Regional treats. Cakes. Cookies. Desserts. My go to favorites - pan de ube, pork or chicken siopao, pork or mung bean hopia, ensymada, mamon, turon, and polvoron. A long time Beacon Hill neighborhood gem!

I ordered a cake here because it seemed like they could do it for a reasonable price with good turn around. I ordered a 1/4 sheet cake (which seemed huge to me) for only $26, which seems like a great deal. I made some basic customizations for the cake (flavor, filing, and color) and it turned out wonderfully! I ordered it two days before I needed it, which was no problem. The cake looked and tasted wonderfully! I would definitely go here again for a custom cake.

The way momma used to make 'em...FRESH. This spot reminds me a lot of the bakeries I used to go to when I was growing up...a momsy/popsy feel to it! #reminisce Quick Tip: Hit em up right when they open at 7/715am when all the pastries have just come out of the oven...you can't beat FRESH/WARM pandeleche!

I recently moved to Beacon Hill and the Delight Bakery is on my bike commute to work. I've only tried their basic donuts, but I have to say that they're the best in town. Insanely affordable too.

Their prices are definitely $$ because their Ube cake is expensive... but oh so worth it. Seriously best fruit cakes ever. Mmm, so craving some. Good service, small, but gets the job done. I love this place. Always go here if I need an Asian cake. Never had their pastries, but I have no doubt they're not good.

I bought 2 cookies at 9am and they were like rocks. I could literally slam them on the table. I waited for it to defrost and one of them was fine and the other one I had to throw away. It's not like they use tongs to grab them.. They should have known better. I've gotten donuts here that tasted dry and were probably days old. I used to be a regular here since I was a kid for 19 years and I stopped coming in. I recently started visiting this place a lot more often but after being served rock cookies I'm done.

Years ago, I heard a tale of a Filipino bakery that would blow my mind on the cheap. I was hearing this tale as my mouth was covered in purple frosting that previously coated a gorgeous ube roll topped with a red cherry. I have been hooked since then. The first time I went there, it was to grab an ube roll, the very roll that had motivated me to travel to Beacon Hill, a neighborhood very far away from my home on the Northend and not very convenient to my downtown office. When I got there, I was literally like a kid in a candy store. So, the ube roll is a light roll cake that is not too sweet. It's the best cake you can get for under $10. I love bringing an ube roll to potlucks and such. Invariably it gets many stares because of the purple color, then many questions, then a few brave folks will step forward to try it. After making affirming comments, more people will jump in and before you know it, the cake is gone. It's been a great conversation piece and that's exactly what happened on Saturday when I went there. The people at the party loved it so much that a couple came up to me before I left, asked me where the bakery was and if I thought they were open. They were headed to another party and wanted to bring one. Don't get me wrong, ube rolls are not the only thing you can get there. You can get standard fare such as donuts and other types of cakes. You can also get hum bao from the steamed case behind the counter. You can order full sized cakes as well. But, oh, I haven't gotten to the best part yet. They have...turon. Yes, my friends, banana lumpia. They also have sticky rice balls if you get there early enough in the day. Those are just my favorites, you'll have to go there for yourself to check out the selection. When I go there, I spend about $15 - $20 and come out with tons of stuff! Great products at a low price? Whaaaat?

Great! Glazed donuts were fresh, large, and tasty. Ham and cheese croissant is sandwich size. Chicken empanadas were slightly sweet, moist, and with veggies inside too. Reasonable prices, nice counter people. Clean interior, good looking products. I could even see people baking in the back. Definitely..I will return.

We ordered a birthday cake over the phone the day before the party and spoke to a lady who we find out later was the owner of the bakery. She took our order for a simple 1/4 sheet cake. We specifically asked for a Ube custard filled cake with no decorations on the white frosted cake with simple HB writing. We didn't want balloons or flowers which we assume would save them plenty of time. She said no problem that could be done. Before hanging up the phone we asked for confirmation again.... Simple 1/4 sheet ube custard filled cake. No decorations, no balloons, no flowers. She said yeah pickup at 430pm. Great party starts at 500pm; sounds like it would work. When we pick up the cake it was the opposite of everything we asked for. No discount for the mistake, no empathy for the customer, we were just asked if we wanted the cake or not... Of course we didn't have a choice with the party starting in about 30 mins. I wish we would have just left the cake. Our poor father had a cake that looked like it was decorated for a 3yr olds birthday by a 9yr old cake decorator. If interested in ordering here I would place the order in person so u can visibly see what's being communicated to the decorator.

Came here for the Ube cake since I haven't had one in 3 freaking years. The frosting may be a bit overwhelming though probably because I'm not a sweets person. This is probably the only type of cake I'll eat. If only they have those purple fluff and no frosting on it! This place also have a lot of different options of bakery, but I can't recall any of them for some reason because I was too focus on hunting down the Ube cake. Warning! T here's a cherry on the Ube cake. I tried asking the nice girl if she can get rid of it, but apparently she can't, so... I got home and I force myself to eat it and it wasn't t hat bad. This spot is kinda hidden behind red apple, but there's parking, yay. Credit / debit card transactions have a 50 cents fee (thank you cashier for giving me a heads up) unless you plan to spend $10 or more. They don't have a tip option for their card transactions, which sucks because I have to give out my last dollar. Pst, the boss should add that option next time :)

Let me first say that because my extended family is Filipino, Delite cakes are nearly always served at birthdays and other special events, so I have tasted my fair share. The cakes are soft and not too sugary sweet, and Delite is a perfect place to find traditional Filipino favorites like ube, mocha and buko pandan. That being said. . . BEWARE!!! When ordering a cake make sure the person taking your order spells back the message clearly over the phone. I ordered a cake this week for a baby shower and clearly spelled the baby's named to be written on said cake. (When taking the order the woman said twice, "Happy Birthday. . ." I said, "No! This isn't a birthday cake!" TWICE.) When my friend arrived to pick up the cake the name was spelled wrong. Did they fix it? NOPE. Instead they waved an order slip in front of my friend's face showing the name INCORRECTLY spelled. I will NEVER order another cake. (Might I add that I recall my cousin's wedding cake nine years ago with BOTH names spelled wrong!!! AY NAKU!) Maybe it would help if you speak Tagalog, but I'm not sure as I unfortunately only speak English. And might I add that my friend who picked up the cake (she is Caucasian but is married to a Filipino and has a large extended Filipino family) said that the staff proceeded to speak Tagalog during this whole transaction without speaking to her. She perceived this as poor customer service, and also stated that they always treat her this way when she shops there. They were no help at all and didn't deserve her hard-earned money for a cake they wouldn't correct! You suck, Delite. Next time I'm trying Red Ribbon.

It's nice to have a bakery in the neighborhood. I love the ube cake here and I always get the Oreo cheesecake for my little cousin. She loves it. Everything else is so-so. I've tried the flan, but didn't like it too much. The egg tart is ok. It doesn't beat the places in Chinatown. The service here is either super good or super bad. When I came in two days ago, the teenage girl behind the counter did not look happy that customers walked in the door. Made the transaction a little awkward.

Meandering around Seattle today, I found myself jonesin' for some pecan pie. My recent run-ins with pecan pie in this city have been less than stellar. My expectations are high for this particular dessert and sadly no place in Seattle has come close to what my Southern fried taste buds have come to know has a taste of home. But lo and behold...Delite Bakery knocks it out of the park. Albeit on a much smaller scale, but still delicious, and more importantly, they get it right. I'm sure the other pastries are good, as well. I've had many of their baked goods growing up, like pan de coco (if you're a fan of coconut, you HAVE to HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO have this), and pan de sal. And all were enough to make my taste buds say "more more more" and my physique to say, "stop it, you're only getting doughier." Pun? Yes, please! And coffee for a buck and some change?! Sign me up!! It's quite difficult for me to believe that it took me 26 years to make it to Delite Bakery. Glad I finally made it. Side note: if you're going to be paying with your card, know that they will charge an extra 50 cents as a surchage.

LOVE Delite! This is one of the very few bakeries that I will make a specific trip for. They have a great selection of pastries from doughnuts, bear claws and cakes to more specialized Filipino desserts and pastries. They also have saipao (my ultimate get up and go food) and empanadas with a nice, sweet flaky crust. They also offer pan de sal which is a staple in most Filipino homes-think a Filipino version of Hawaiian King Bread, cuchintas, suman and freshly made turon. The owner and workers are all super nice, even being patient with my broken tagalog, lol. Thank goodness I live across the water, otherwise I would be here on a daily basis stocking up.

I've tried quite a few things at this neighborhood bakery. Here's the scoop: -Ube (taro) buns (individual sized, 5 in a pack): LOVE THESE! -Ube (taro) big roll (size of a banana bread loaf): okay, but prefer the buns because it's sweeter and has more ube and the bun is softer -Apple fritter: my favorite! It's the best fritter I've tried. Way better than top pot! -Croissant: huge, and good, not super buttery but still delicious -Bear claw: YUMMMMM!!!! amazing almond flavor. Big as yo face! -Taro cake (as in birthday cake): i used to love this, but through the years I haven't liked it as much. Not sure if their cake chef changed or if my tastebuds changed. It's not as sweet and fluffly as i remember and i don't like the frosting that is used throughout. -chicken (or pork) steamed buns: they're okay -buns with cream on top: my family likes these a lot, i don't love the frosting -i don't know what these are called but they are 2 inch in diameter little flaky pastries with custard inside: pretty delicious. -old fashion and maple bars: delicious standards! Very good prices!

The ube cake is the best! Thank you for being the best Filipino bakery in the area. I don't think there's any question that I'll come back often.

My (filipino-american) boyfriend and I stopped here after he first moved to Seattle because he had a craving for some good hot pan de sal. We walked in, and the place was very clean, the staff was friendly. We ordered a few different breads and decided to .... pig out hahaha. Quite a few of their breads , hopias, etc etc were good but.... Their pan de sal, the KEY thing we were looking for.... WAS WEAK! It was just NOT GOOD!!!!!! The flavor was all WRONG. It was just like a dinner roll I could buy at QFC. It was also not fresh at all. We were really disappointed, but luckily we found Valerios down in Renton and we've been going there ever since. Key Points: Staff: friendly Food: reasonably priced, mostly good but pan de sal was HORRIBLE Drinks: n/a Atmosphere: clean/busy Great for: n/a I will not go again.

A new bakery each week. At least that is what I am trying to do as of late. This week, the focus is turned on to Delite Bakery. Delite is a bit out of my way on Beacon Hill, so I decided to take the fashionable Light Rail to get here. Delite is conveniently one block west from the underground Beacon Hill station. The store itself looks a bit like cornershop bakery. When I entered, I saw a lot of baked goodies to choose from. Only thing was that there was no labels on anything. I guess you could figure out that is a donut, this is a croissant. However, this gets tricky when it comes to the more ethnic baked items. I feel like having to ask what each and every item was. Service here is no-frills, so I kind of wanted to avoid that. In the end, I picked up a bag of pan de sal, a croissant and a bear claw. My total came out a little over $5 which I thought was amazing. This is considering that the croissant and bear claws at some bakeries can be almost $3 each. Delite is definitely a value bakery to me. And their pastries are huge. The croissant and bear claw look like double size versions of the same items that I have seen elsewhere. Granted, this is not a Le Panier or Macrina type bakery so quality might not be as great. But the pastries taste good and I think that is the bottom line. The pan de sal was just okay for me however. I think it is best microwaved for a couple seconds before serving. I wish that there was some from fresh out of the oven pan de sal rather than buying a prepackaged version of them. Overall, I would recommend Delite for the incredible value and selection that they have to offer. While it is bit out of the way, it is just a short Light Rail ride away from downtown Seattle.

I remember as a child walking to delite bakery when it was still on beacon. Outside the decor of blue and white tiles. When you walk in you smell all these awesomeness. They had this dome like glass to it that I love planting my face on. So they decided to move but to a larger location, no longer is it walking distance (well, it still is but too far me). My favorites are the ube cake (the only place I trust to buy from), their butter/sugar rolls (drools!) And the plain ol pan de sal. Its lightly sweeten and it goes perfectly with a cup of hot milk tea. I think they are fairly priced. I think its too bad they dont have a "dozen donut deal". I understand their donuts are ginormous and so they wouldnt make money if they priced 12 donuts cheaply. So, eh. Oh wells, take what I can get.

Their karioka is pretty good, chewy and subtly sweet. Different filipino places' vary slightly with their karioka sweetness and chewy texture/shell; this is another good one. It's best warm and not cold---I let mine get too cold before starting it. =/

LOVE LOVE LOVE this bakery. I've tried other things here and there. But the UBE cake is delish. The icing and cream on there is a little thicker, more like a buttercream thickness. Let it sit at room temp and it'll taste even better. The Black Forest cake is also golden. Next favorite thing there. The chocolate isn't too strong and you can definitely taste the hint of cherry in there. What I love about these cakes is that they aren't so sweet. I have always been a salty person. And these cakes are perfect for my taste buds! Totally worth the drive for the "delite" you will get in your mouth! ;) That day I did slices, 2 Ube, and 1 Black forest, I spent about $8. Slices were a big portion as well.

UGH, why Seattle, why?! Why must you be so far from me?! A 3-hour drive from Portland for your sweet delicious Filipino baked goods... Ehhhhh, it's worth it. Unfortunately, Portland doesn't have their share of Filipino bakeries, but Delite is right on cue. Love the pandesal, baked fresh in their kitchen! Their tasty treats, especially their hopia, and heck even their baklava. However, they miss out on some deserts and the sizes are too big of portions (this is where a star is lost)... I like my ensaymada in a serving size to bring on a trip for myself, the big loaf is such a mess to cut. However, I don't know much more of the place - their cakes look gorgeous, but I have yet to try it. Maybe I'll consider it in the future for when I'm ready to tie that knot! The service is top notch, very helpful as I'm not familiar with all Filipino treats. And the prices aren't horribly expensive for the NW (as obviously California would be cheapest overall). I do like their clean interior, makes business with them even more worth it.

They were just about to close, but the wonderous smells pushed us past politeness & into this little bakery. The ladies sweetly gave names & descriptitons to everything we pointed at through the glass. A schizophrenic assortment filled the huge case (even at the late hour of 6pm) of eclairs, baklava, fried bananas, traditional doughnuts & more. Giddy with thoughts of sugar we each picked one out. It's lucky we don't live around here, or else I fear this could be a morning routine. Not that it's expensive, the fancy eclair was only $1.60, but I hate to think about the baggage I would pick up around the midsection. One note- credit card charges add $.50.

I am a big fan of pastries and desserts in general and this bakery creates some of the best around. If you are looking for a quick bite for lunch, their pork siopao and pork hopia are just what you need. The siopao dough is fluffy, the pork inside is just the right amount of sweetness and the boiled egg is a perfect touch to finish off the bun. Their hopia is also the right crispness on the outside and their filling is very tasty. Their dessert selection is also very extensive. Their turon is fried nicely and made with the right bananas. They also have some delicious ensyamada and your normal American donuts as options. Another thing they do well are their cakes. I've come down at lunch to get a cake for a work party and I have yet to hear any complaints about their mocha or ube flavors. They are always a huge hit at the office.

This rating is in regards to ordering our wedding cake (though they have very good pan de coco, mamon, and other pastries)... When we initially did a cake -tasting at Delite, they had 6-8 flavors for us to try out and they were pretty large portions, enough for at least 4 people to try a bit of each flavor. After looking at their cake book, which had a decent variety of styles, we were ready to make our order. Oddly, because we still had a couple of months until our wedding, they told us to return about a month before the wedding. About a month-and-a-half until the wedding, I called to schedule an appointment to order the cake. However, when we arrived at 7am like I was told, we were surprised to find out that the cake decorator, Britney, had no idea about this; whichever girl I talked to ended up not writing anything down! Fortunately, after a little bit of persistence, the lady at the door let us in to talk with Britney and order our cake. Britney more than made up for the poor service that we received by the girl on the phone. She provided us more sample pictures to look at, allowed us to make our own decisions, but also warned us of things that may not look right. The excellence of her service was also later exhibited when she called us to let us know that she had tried over and over to make the correct color frosting, but it was turning out more purple than pink. We came out with an alternative color and it turned out beautifully. On the wedding day, Britney was there herself to deliver the cake, set it up, and decorate it with the fresh flowers we provided. All in all, we were extremely satisfied with our cake in regards to aesthetics and taste! Thanks Britney! However, when making appointments, be sure to write down the name of the person you talked to over the phone!

I just got married on Saturday 8/9/08 & I ordered the wedding cake with the ube (purple yam/ pronounced: oo-bay) & pandan (green colored) on advice by Christian that handles the deliveries . He arranged a special wedding cake tasting for us free-of-charge. I've bought many birthday cakes but this was my first wedding cake which was hopefully for my first and last wedding. Every time I've bought a cake here for somebody's birthday I would receive many compliments & questions about where to buy the purple cake (ube)? The wedding guests loved the wedding cake. Frosting is not to sweet, but just right. The price is unbeatable too with good customer service. I uploaded pictures of my custom wedding cake with the supplied by us Mashimaro cake topper from Korea. We had them do a custom ube (purple yam) and pandan (green tea) cake. I love the siopao (humbow)! It's my favorite place for cakes & pilipino baked goods. Mabuhay Delite Bakery!

I've gone out of my way to avoid Delite Bakery for years. Not because it's bad, but because I've heard it was so good. I walk my dog every morning and we try to steer clear of this place because it smells so good even from blocks away. I can just imagine myself trying to get my morning exercise and coming home with a dozen donuts every morning! But finally I broke down one morning recently and bought a bunch of sweet treats for me and some friends. Everything was delicious as expected and everyone loved it. I hope to one day order one of their amazing cakes from this Beacon Hill gem.

A lot of hype, to me it just seems like a bakery. They're nice, their patrons are a little strange, more than a little, great for people watching. No public restroom. The first time I went there I gave it a 3/5 thinking it was okay and just as good as any normal bakery might be expected to be. The last time I got an éclair and it was inedible. I spit out the first bite and threw it away, after staring at it in disbelief during my drive to wherever I was going. I will not come back here.

The first time I went to this bakery my friend and I got 2 donuts, a drip coffee, and a bottle of orange juice for $5. Seems like a good deal to me. They charge 50 cents for card transactions under $10 but I don't mind paying the fees for a nice neighborhood place like this. Now everytime I walk by this place during business hours I have to fight the urge not to stop in for a cheap donut...

FILIPINO BAKERY STANDING STRONG! When I was young my parents would drive a distance and we'd "pasial" north to get some pastries from here. I still go here for my goodies. Although their competition right now is Valerio's my close friend who isn't african-america (born in PI) loves Delite Bakery more then Valerio's. Pan de coco! i heart you.

Damn RIGHT its Woohoo! As good as it gets! TWO WORDS. BUTTER. BREAD. Two things I love dearly in life. Butter. and Bread. Smear whipped sugared butter onto flaky filipino roll and you suddenly have what I crave and chomp down every time I enter the Seattle area.

Delite Bakery's pan de sal brings back memories when I was a kid and my dad used to take me to the filipino bakery. I love fresh baked breads, apple turnovers, fritters, donuts, ensymadas, basically, all the good stuff. It's a good thing this place is not closer to my house, otherwise, I would be stopping by more often and I would weigh a lot more!

I ordered my son's 3rd birthday cake from Delite Bakery because I love love their ube cake!!!! There service is great! Especially the guy behind the counter who sings... very entertaining while waiting for my order!!! I love the pan de sal, ( I've been eating their pan de sal for as far back as I can remember) The pastry selection is wide and inviting, and I love how they have traditional staples that make you feel like Lola is still in the kitchen baking something special. Kudos to Delite bakery... P.S. Try their ube cake with vanilla filling... it's heaven in your mouth!!!

Giant doughnuts and eclairs, chewy karioka, creamy leche flan, and, my favorite, fresh chocolate croissants - what more could you ask for? I've only ever ordered their items in their display case, but the cakes they make here are beautiful, and from what I can tell based on what I have eaten, they must be delicious too. The bakery itself is a small building, and there isn't much of lobby area, so it can get crowded really quickly. I've noticed that the staff here don't really help people based on the order that they show up in the store, but more based on whoever talks to them first. This is sort of annoying when you're the first person in there and the last person helped, but the food is worth the wait. Everything is also very inexpensive. Items range from about 50 cents to 2 dollars, and I usually get a bag full of goodies for under 10 bucks. I recommend bringing cash as there is a small charge for using a credit or debit card.

delicious, beautiful and affordable!! When wedding cake shopping in Seattle, everyone recommended the 'usual' suspects - Borrachinis etc. and they all were WAY out of my budget. I tried EVERYWHERE. . somehow through the grapevine i heard about a cute bakery on capitol hill and stopped by to check out their cake selection. I will admit, most of their display cakes were a little outdated, but when I showed them a photo of what I liked, they told me they could make it look however I wanted. I got a delicious chocolate/ white chocolate with raspberry filling cake for 250 guests for $200 including delivery and they even decorated my cake with fresh dahlias that I had set aside. I was so impressed. Lovely, delicious and so memorable. I highly recommend Delite Bakery! ( I posted photos of my cake in the 'photo section' above)

Love that ube cake. Google it if you must. In my family it used to be about Borracchini's Bakery birthday cake. Now it's all about Delite Bakery birthday cake. It's a cute shop. Their food items are distributed in Uwajimaya and Seafood City like Pan de Sal. For environmentalist trivia: It was a Brownfields site which became a successful redevelopment.

I've been going to Delite since their first location on Beacon Avenue since I was a kid. Anyway, I thought I'd try to save myself some time by going to Red Ribbon inside of Southcenter. BIG MISTAKE! I went there to look for some Turon, only to be disappointed. So I made my way back to my 'hood to Delite. To my dismay, I was not disappointed. They had Turon and I was helped right away. Got my 2 dozen; was in and out within 5-10 minutes. The Turon ended up being a huge hit at my niece's little baptismal after party.

I just ate an apple fritter from this place. Starbucks has got nothing on this apple fritter! The ratio of apples to fritter was perfect (with the former not overpowering the former, as is the case with Starbucks). I think we got about 4 different things and we only paid $3! They also have the genuinely weird asian pasteries here too, like white bean buns, etc. If I may recommend the red bean bun. At first I was hesitant but they are quite great. I would need to eat a few more things here but what I've seen so far has definitely started this place off on a 4!

I love this place. It's cheap. The stuff is good. And the people that work there are so friendly. I used to come here every week, but stopped for years. I started coming back a couple weeks ago and the people that work there seem to know everyone that walks through that door. It's just so great to see that. Everyone else has already talked about the specific things that taste amazing there. Being a total newbie, it's just great to be able to go to a bakery and try everything there (even if I don't even know what it is) because it's just that affordable. And so far, I've loved everything that I've ordered. I go out of my way to avoid it lately just to show my wallet a little mercy.

I love this place and have been going here for years! I have tried everything from the bako (still think its bibingka), ube, to the croissants to the cakes. You name it, I have tried it. This place is delish. Why the 3 stars? I hate the service. There is a lady that consistently place me last. She will always take someone else's (like 3 people) order before mines when they had arrived after me. And to happen more than once? Maybe I am just a prick but that is definitely not good customer service.

My go-to bakery when I'm in desperate need of something sweet and affordable. A few of my favorite treats: 1) Ube cake rolls (Ube = purple yam). It's sweet and you get a couple servings of vegetables if you finish the entire thing. 2) Yema balls (probably not the actual name). They look like 4 donut holes on a skewer. The insides are chewy and the outside is coated with a nice sugary/crunchy glaze. Great to grab and go! 3) Butter cream bun (probably not the actual name either). It looks like a huge round bun covered with a huge amount of butter cream and topped off with sugar (I like to top it off with MORE sugar when I get it home). This alone helps me stay warm in the wintertime. 4) Slice of a Black forest cake: The cake is moist and the frosting is plentiful. Additional note: The birthday/wedding cakes here are really affordable as well. I had a 3-tiered cake decked out with red rose petals and was very satisfied with the taste, design, and cost. Additional additional note: You can find many of their products at Asian grocery stores but I suggest getting the fresh ones at the bakery. It's just not the same if you get it anywhere else.

This place is a hidden gem in Beacon Hill. After living on the hill for a few years I just discovered this place last year. There is so much to like. They have good BIG chocolate donuts, they have yummy cakes there too (you can buy by the slice), and I tried ube pan which is this bread that had this purple stuff it in. I thought I was just buying regular bread, but I really liked it. I thought the purple stuff tasted sweet. Yum. The prices can't be beat here and the ladies that work here are very friendly. My favorite item however is the karioka. It's this sweet doughy fried ball of rice that is a bit chewy. When ever I come here it is also with a group or I have a list of things people have asked me to pick up for them. Pay with cash if you can, because they do have a small charge to use your card.

When I first moved to Beacon Hill several friends recommended Delite to me. Being the sweets addict I am I quickly ran up the hill to check it out. Ever since I have been hooked on Delite! I fell in love with their many Filipino sweets including purple ube (yam) cake, turon (banana egg roll) and the deep fried rice balls (forgot the Filipino name). Sometimes for lunch I will grab some of their steamed rolls with beef and egg. The friendly staff at Delite Bakery top off the experience with a cherry. Delite Bakery is one of Beacon Hill's gems!

Best Ube cake in town and not too sweet. Family favorite bday cakes. Try it with the custard creme jelly. Apple pie and other Philippines pastries are baked fresh. Love this place, too bad it's not closer to home. Oh, wait maybe its best this way bcuz I have to go to the gym more often, lol.

My family and I have been going to Delite Bakery since before it moved to the new, nice building. The pan de sal, ube loaf, and pan de leche have always been great and my family makes a trip to the bakery at least once every two weeks. When we were young, my brother and I would get chocolate cupcakes or cups made out of chocolate that were filled with cream. It's not wonder that I was such a chubby child. There are huge doughnuts, a large selection of baked goods, and they make cakes! They started making ube rolls and we have started to grab those instead of the loaves. I got my boyfriend and his family hooked on the rolls, too, so I am sure that Delite can count on me to stop in as often as I can for the rest of my life.

I wanted to get my son a birthday cake for his 25th birthday, but I live a 100 miles away, so I bought an Ube cake over the phone that morning and he picked it up after work. He loved how it tasted. Even though it looked like a wedding cake, he thought it tasted terrific. It was very reasonable and he told me that he will go there when he gets married. The lady was very nice over the phone.

This is one of my go-to cake places, especially if i want to bring something different because of their unique Filipino cakes, either the Ube (yam) or Pandan Cake. The pandan cake is green and has a bit of coconut. I love how their cakes are light and tasty where you don't feel all gross and full of sugar like with some other cakes. also, when i was picking up the cake i couldn't help but see the the pork and chicken baos. i forgot the filipino name. got some of those too and they were delicious. and then of course, i have to pick up a bag of Pan de Sol bread rolls for breakfast. put those in the oven, smother in butter, and dip in coffee. SO GOOD!!!! :: as a side note, uwajimaya does sell some Delite bakery products.

Thank baby jeesus for this bakery. I love all the highfalutin bakeries out there, but I'm a frugal student. I can't pay $4 for a cute brioche, and call it a day. Skip the donuts, and go for the real deal. Salad-plate sized Ensaymada, if the cheese ain't your thing, go for the Butter bread. If you want something not as sweet, do the Raisin bread. I always get the Pan de sal & Pan de leche rolls when I stop in. You just do. They prefer cash, so bring some or go cross the street to the ATM. You can use a card, but a 50 cent charge gets added. And paying merchant services is not cheap. They work hard, and keep their prices low so you can enjoy almost everything and still get $10 in change after handing a $20. Oh, and leave a tip.

Half of my family is Filipino AND they're excellent cooks. When they started bringing cakes from Delite Bakery to family gatherings I knew they had to be delish and I was immediately all over them. I'd never had ube cake before. What a treat! On top of being sincerely delicious the purple color makes it fun to eat, reminds me of Dr. Seuss. (color comes from the purple yams used) Right now, I have two favorite bakeries in Seattle and this is one of them.

Non-Filipinos should try this bakery, even if you're just looking to buy some fresh dinner rolls or freshly baked pastries. I bought some pan de sal, pan de leche, pan de coco, spanish style (obviously I'm no longer on Atkins!) and every single piece was fresh and delicious! I also bought the Mocha Cake with Macapuno (just because). It's a light cake, not too sweet. Will try the Ube cake next. This bakery sells to other Filipino and Asian stores (including Uwajimaya's), but suggest going to the bakery and getting your goods freshly baked.

I've had nothing but bad experiences with Filipino restaurants in Seattle, mainly because they are mostly all terrible.. FIlipino bakeries, on the other hand, are a different story. This is absolutely the only place where I will by pandesal (traditional filipino rolls).. and I'm talking the only place I will buy pandesal ANYWHERE in the United States. The pandesal is perfectly light, not like some I've had before that sit in your stomach like a rock for hours after you've eaten it. Not only do they have pandesal, but also a huge variety of Filipino baked goods. Some good sweet things to try for those who don't have high cholesterol levels: their rolls stuffed with coconut (pan de coco) and taro (ube), and their "butter bread" slathered with butter and sugar. Finally, I never leave there without buying carioca, deep fried rice balls dipped in syrup... deep-fried + sweet = YUM.

After reading the reviews on Yelp, I added this to my places to try list. I was finally in the area a couple of weeks ago and had 10 minutes to make it to the bakery before it closed to purchase a last minute birthday cake. Luckily, since I didn't preorder, they had two quarter sheet ube cakes to pick from. The cake was nicely decorated with flowers and they quickly wrote a birthday message on the cake. The cake was very light and fluffy and the frosting is just right. Not too sweet. In fact, it tasted so light that I had seconds of it. The cake was pretty big though and there weren't that many of us, so there was a lot of it left. The birthday girl managed to finish it off though -- one slice a day for a week.

Such a pleasant stop in the morning for a quick fix of my favorite Filipino pastries. Actually I come here often after a hard day's work on my way home as well. I must add that the cute little flamboyant brown kid is very entertaining and charming! He serenaded to me a rendition of Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry". Cute voice and would be a great a contestant for American Idol someday. I couldn't help, but snap my fingers like Sha Nay Nay from the show Martin and tell him to just "sing it"... To my little brown songbird...Thank You for making my day. Freshly baked goodies to start off the work week!...what more can you ask for?!?

When I cut across Beacon Hill to go in to work, I always have to stop here. Their pizza croissants are really good and sometimes hot out of the oven. A quick refresher in the office toaster oven makes it good as new. Granted, they don't have the pink frosting/coconut number like Top Pot, but then again I can get a dozen without hitting a cash machine. Favorites are the apple fritters and buttermilk bars. Pan de sal rolls are excellent for little sandwiches. My only gripe is they put chopped up hard boiled eggs in the hum bows and the tuna and chicken sandwiches. That's just weird.

Fantastic! We ordered a birthday cake for my daughters 4th birthday on short notice ( 2 days beforehand). The woman I spoke with on the phone was helpful and friendly. The half sheet Ube cake was a hit, and perfect for a large party ( 40+). It came decorated with Disney princesses, little rings, flowers and balloons, all in pink and purple. It was perfect, delicious and my daughter loved it! I got a ton of compliments at the party about this cake, and the price was reasonable. This will be our go to bakery! Thanks Delite!

Hey didnt know Seattle has so many asian bakeries. First time to Seattle, and a friend of mine took me to this place before my trip back to Cali. Their Sansrival was pretty good and I sure did like their Ube cake. My friend Sunny kept raving about the Ube cake, and yes it was oh so delicious. I wish there were more macapuno in it (coz i love coconute ^_^). Well the next time I'm visiting Seattle, I'll for sure to stop by here again.

I am definitely a fan of delite, the bear claws, almond twists and the prices are the things that will get me to go back over and over again.

I can't complain. They have fresh tasting cakes.. frosting that melts in your mouth. UBE cake...mmmm so good.. I feel like homer feening for donuts when I think of getting desserts from them! Kareoka-- sweet syrap balls on a screwer are one of my favorites.. I tried one of their donut twists and that was really good as well. Chicken hambaos are good.. I want to see them serve mamon though or tinudtud.. The only pet peeve I got was the mispronounciation of UBE cake *oo-beh/bay) the girl at the counter kept calling it OO-BEE.. and when I spoke to a girl on the phone about saving me the last 3 kareoka and I was maybe running five minutes late to pick it up after closing. By the time I got there they weren't there anymore... BUT FIVE STARS BECAUSE THE RECIPES AND DESSERTS ARE THE BEST! If you aren't from seattle. you should try it.. they should really think of opening another location for the central or northend folks..

Best pan de sal* in all of Seattle, OK well it's the only place I've ever bought them from but they are good, damn good. As odd as it might sound pan de sal is some what of a comfort food for me. Every Christmas my dad cooks a big ham and than for days after we'd eat leftover warm (not hot) ham and cheese sandwiches on pan de sal rolls, these might be some of the best sandwiches ever created in my parent's kitchen I tell you. And buying a dozen from Delite Bakery the other day made me happy, I still have two left, they probably need to be tossed but I won't do that until I pick up another dozen to replace them and for $1.95 a dozen it's ok if I throw two out. Plus I need to wait until I pick up some more ham and cheese to make more little pan de sal sandwiches. Oh to make this a little more useful I guess I should add that they have all kinds of sweets here too, cupcakes, cakes, donuts so if you're looking for something sweet they have sweets too. * For those not in the know pan de sal is rounded bread usually eaten by Filipinos.

I had the pleasure of having their cake years ago, at my co-worker's daughter's Birthday party. Then, my other co-worker surprised me with a big Ube sheet cake for my Birthday, now two years in a row! So sweet! In between those times we have made a few visits to pick up their delectable empanadas, and other wonderful pastries. Sorry don't remember all the names but I know they're pretty good. The staff are all so friendly and very willing to help. Their cakes are all very moist and light, not too sweet, the big plus is they use real whipped cream. You can also order wedding cakes, and all kinds of party cakes. They also carry your standard flavors too such as vanilla, chocolate, mocha, and strawberry I believe, but why would you do that when you can order a Ube Macapuno or Pandan? Until I can find a Vietnamese Bakery that do cakes the way I like, I'll keep coming here. :-D

Damn you! Damn you Delite Bakery and damn your huge apple fritters! And damn the fact that I live a few blocks away & have to walk the dog over there every morning. By far the best apple fritters I've ever had, but get there before 10 AM or they're gone. And the croissants are huge also. I only wish they would start doing bagels. Damn you Delite Bakery...

Lovely donuts, awesome sticky rice, sweet banana, chicken empanadas, and surprisingly great coffee. I am so grateful to live close to this bakery. It is super super super fantastic. Their donuts are seriously perfect. PERFECT!

I went to Delite Bakery for the first time today. I'm sad because I'm leaving Seattle soon and wish I found this place earlier. Their pandesal is AMAZING. I could eat it all day. One of my favorite snacks is chicken empanada. I ordered it too, and while the filling is okay, I'm not digging on the crust. Personally I really like flaky, buttery dough in my empanada, and this one is hard. Hate to say it but Goldilocks does it better. Overall though, I really like Delite Bakery and will definitely come back a few more times before I go.

I love this place! They did my wedding cake and I was super surprised at how great the cake looked, tasted and cost! I gave the caterer a photo of the design I wanted and he did it to the T! We had a 3 tiered cake with the base at about 18" in dameter - the tiers were pulled a part for a staggered look. Ube was the cake type with the frosting as the filling too. This was a super light cake and I didn't feel bad eating it. I would love to give them 5 stars, but the communication with the mom (I think) was kind of strange. But all in all, love this place and I'll be coming back often for the ube!

Absolutely DELITEFUL! This is truly a hidden gem in the Beacon Hill neighborhood, literally in the corner of Beacon Ave. and 15th. I swear it's by far one of the best Filipino Bakeries here. If you like Tofu, they have this really yummy concoction called Taho which is a sugary, syrupy, tofu pudding with tapioca. The closest thing to having the original taho they sell on the streets in the Philippines (in the metal tins). I love their little hopia's (mung bean pastries) they're bite sized and really dense, better than the super oily ones that they have at other Filipino Bakeries here. And, they're ube macapuno cake and mocha cakes which comes in sheets and rolls, you have to try it! Sinfully delicious, moist, and just the right sweetness in the icing. YUMMY!!! As far as service goes, super sweet ladies manning the counter, and always smiling. I would too if I was always surrounded by cookies, cakes, and pastries. Like my Lolo (Grandfather in Tagalog) used to say, "Try it, you'll like it!"

My new guilty pleasure. So good, Yet so bad! If stars counted my self control, I would give it only 2 stars because I hate (but love!) that I have made this a morning routine! I have been working out a little extra just to make up for my new addiction. They have fabulous donuts, rolls and pastries. I also get my morning coffee here as well. The price is amazing, and you get alot more then you pay for! Not to mention everyone one is so nice and always smiling!

This bakery is awesome! I've driven by it at least 200 times but never checked it out. My mom bought some Pan de leche rolls the other day and they were soo good. So I decided to get some more on the way home one day. The ladies there are so nice and help full. I got 2 bags of rolls. The when I got home, found out my grandma bought 2 bag earlier. Then an hour later... my mom came home with 2 more bags!

So often I find myself passing though Beacon Hill either to meet with a client or avoid I-5 traffic. Funny thing is by trying to save time I always end up here to grab a box of pastries, some Pandisal ( Filipino Bread Rolls ) and coffee. Lately I think I've been coming to often. There are only a few Filipino Bakeries I could name South of Seattle and this is by far my favorite. There is one at 99 Ranch Market called Valero's but this has more variety. From Empinada's to decorative / party cakes you should be able to find something in Filipino traditional bake goods to your liking. If your like me, your sweet tooth cravings will be satisfied. The staff here is very friendly. Everything is freshly baked and the price is right. Most pastries are priced between 1.00 to 1.50. So for wanting coffee in the morning and a chocolate croissant, the price definitely beat Starbucks or many other cafes. And everything taste oh sooo good :) Delite is open early so check it out. With such variety of Filipino to American bake goods, you should be able to find something to your liking. I normally would spend about 10-12$ here and come home or to work with a box of 7-8 pastries. Great price! Also did I mention they have donuts :) Enjoy.

Utterly awesome. The Filipinos are awesome! The baked goodies are what it's about. If you want cake, they got it. If you want filipino goodies, they also got it. I enjoy their hopia!

I LOVE THIS PLACE. I don't have the time or the skills to cook like my family does so I come to the Delite Bakery instead!. Great pastries and other Filipino Desserts. Easy to find and excellent service. I wish I was there when they had polvoron (do they even make that here?) The only reason I give it a 4 instead of a 5 is because 1. My kutsinta was not orange, it was brown and my bibinka was hard. Otherwise great place.

Wow, yes please! This is the place for pan de coco, giant donuts, beautiful cakes, etc. I got a chocolate covered donut and a twisty one, to save for later (yeah right). Everything tastes very fresh, the prices are amazingly cheap and the service is extremely friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back. I may even order my parents' 50th anniversary cake from them. What a find!

LOVE , love, love! This bakery. My husband is Filipino, born in the Filippines and almost everything in the shop reminds him of home. They did our wedding cake and custom designed it for me. Not only did it exceed my expectations in beauty, it was delicious and all my wedding guest were impressed with the ube and green tea cake!!! A must-go!

I honestly, for the first time, don't know where to even begin with this interview, to describe in words the pure awesomeness of DELITE bakery. Augh. Sooooo good. Probably the only place in the entire King County, western Washington area where you can bite into the quintessence of Filipino baking: Hopia. Always perfectly baked, slightly crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside, every time that I go to DELITE I'm absolutely delighted by the awesome Filipinos that work here. They make sure that you're getting authentic, warm, toasty Filipino comfort food. There's nothing else I could ask for. Absolutely perfect.

Filipino bakery in Beacon Hill. Good parking. A couple of my favorites are the Ube cake (it's from purple yam), Turon (is a banana spring roll dipped in brown sugar and fried!!) and their bread rolls are EXCELLENT! Fresh, moist, and great with coffee. Will definitely be back! Customer service - warm and friendly owners!

You can get a big dough nut for only 75 cents! It's worth it! and it's as big as my face, my mom says. The brownies are really good. They want to get to know you if you come here often! Today, they just asked me where I always came form and my high school, even my middle school. I just love them here!

We love coming to Delite Bakery! If I'd buy stuff once a week for my hubby here, he'd be in absolute heaven (and he'd also be fat!) We usually spend about $20 but we get a ton of stuff. Usually we'll get Pan de Leche, Pan de Coco, Turon, Ensaymadas, Empanadas, and anything else that looks good. The only thing that I've found to be hit or miss is the Turon, depending on when you get it. Planning on trying a cake for my kids birthday in August, will update then.

I went there for a toron, a deep-fried pastry glazed and filled with sweet banana puree. It was awesome, how can you go wrong with that. I also got a banana leaf filled with sweet coconut sticky rice. It was sooo sweet. Like, diabetic coma carb & sugar sweet. Very good.

I love this place! I can get my pandesal and my ube cake all the time! Being born and raised in the Philippines, this place brings my childhood memory back. My husband loves their pork asado and especially their pandesal. Their pandesal is not as good as the real thing from the Philppines, but it will do. I'm pretty much at this bakery at least once a week!

We went to the bakery to get a birthday cake for my mother-in-law. We bought the cake as well as a cookie and putos (rice cake). I opened the putos to give my son (who is only 1 years old) who likes rice cakes and then I ate one. When I put it in my mouth it had a weird taste to it. I didn't want to be rude so I walked outside with my son while my husband was paying for the items and spit it out. Then I looked at the package the putos were in and it was all moldy on the bottom (green and white mold). I immediately grabbed the one my son was eating and threw it away. Luckily he had only taken a small bite on the top. The mold was mostly on the bottom but it was green a furry! I brought it back in the bakery and started to get really upset. I told them that this is disgusting. We could get really sick and that I wanted my money back. The lady apologized and said they can't see the mold on it so they didn't know. I told them they shouldn't be able to see the mold to throw it away. They should have dates on it. That it's really disgusting and my son and I could really get sick. I remember when she was getting me the putos that she looked through the stack on them that she had in the back. I couldn't figure out if she was trying to look for the oldest one or look for one that looked fresh. I'm assuming they were looking for the oldest one (most places try to sell the oldest one first) but I didn't think it would be that old! I will never go back here. Too bad cause we buy a lot of their Ube Cakes for our celebrations. Please DO NOT buy from here!!!! This place is disgusting!!!!

Happened by this place on my way back to work. They have a variety of sweet goods and some savory lunch-type stuff as well. I picked up a whole loaf of banana bread for $4! Really good stuff; tasty and cheap. I'll definitely be back.

Everything my husband and I have eaten from here is delicious and super cheap. They sell hum bow for $1.50 each, empanadas for $1.25, maple bars for $.80. WOW! I have tried their chicken AND pork hum bow. Both are equally scrumptious. My fellow teachers adore me when I bring a big box of doughnuts from Delite into work, so I will keep doing it. Doughnuts make people happy! We've also tried many different pastry sweets made with banana and all were excellent as well. They do serve drip coffee and espresso, though I haven't tried it. Delite also makes birthday cakes and other beautiful tartes, pies, and cakes. I go here at least once a week.

One of my co-workers brought in some empanadas to work last week, and they were so good. The exterior was a thick perfectly sweet crust filled with chicken, potato, peas and goodness. I liked it so much I brought my wife to the spot two days later, and bought a few more empanadas and a yummy fried banana treat. This is a bakery for people who like donuts, Filipino cakes and other sweet addicting treats.

Ube pan (the loaf of bread with purple filling)!!! They also have hopia (yellow bean). I was bummed that I couldn't get it with black beans. Their pastries are tasty and cheap to boot. I swear that their ensaymadas are as big as my head!

went there for the first time ever this weekend (to check out wedding cake designs, primarily, but that's another story). i've tried their mocha cake and ube cakes before from birthday parties i've previously attended, and i liked them. but i am in love with the fact that they have taho. this was one of my favorite foods, growing up. and i only used to be able to get it when a seller would walk down our street, calling out, "tahooooo"... which makes it once or twice a year. and since it's been seven years since i've been back in the p.i., i have been talking about it for that long. in any case! they serve taho, which isn't as thick or rich as the street taho sellers make it (and, therefore, probably better for your sugar levels), but it's still yummy sugar-tofu-tapioca goodness. i also like their hopia baboy (pork hopia). it looks like there are some extra ingredients in the way they make it, but it's all good. it also beats the goldilocks hopia baboy that they sell in uwajimaya (just the pre-packaged supermarket-quality ones; it's been a while since i've had "fresh" goldilocks hopia baboy, so i'll reserve that opinion til later). i'll have to come back for turon, egg pie, puto bungbong, and cake rolls (and more taho) later! and i'll have to check out their siopao to see if it's as good as the ones we get across the border (and, if it is, then that'll save a lot of gas).

The volleyball team I used to coach surprised me with a mocha cake from Delite. Little did they know this is my favorite cake. Mocha frosting..what more could you ask for? That was the sweetest gift :)

This is as close to the Philippines as you are going to get in Seattle. Well, pastry wise anyways. I have tried Valerio's in Tukwila and they can't hold a candle to this place, even if they have more choices. Variety just can't beat quality and flavor! I almost always eat one or two yellow bean hopias right there in the store or bust open a bag of the chicharon (filipino style pork rinds- artery clogging delicious!). Their fruit cakes are sooo incredibly yummy and I recently had a slice of their mocha cake and now I am torn. they sell karioka (sweet chewy doughy fried balls on a stick) here, but it can be a tiny bit stale sometimes as well as the turon (banana or banana&jackfruit lumpia with a sugar sauce drizzled) because turon really should be eaten asap. the ladies are always super friendly and the prices can't be beat. oh, and who could forget fresh pan de sal and pan de leche?! delicious and fresh!

Can we say "YUMMY"??!!! If you are into the Filipino treats (I can't help it, I'm Flip!), this is the place to go. I would choose this over Goldilock's any day. Get their yummy ube with macapuno cake or any other cake and you will not be disappointed. Spongy cake with to-die-for frosting. They opened up a bigger store on Beacon Hill (a couple blocks from their previous location) and sell even more stuff (it seems). You can't go wrong with this place ... My personal fav: Ensaymada ... Mmmm, I need to go back home and get some!

I'm a gringo so I went straight for the doughnuts. BEST AND BIGGEST DOUGHNUTS EVER!! They're so light and fluffy, but not so light that they taste like fluffed fat. They look normal sized in the case, but then you get them in your hand and you realize they're just HUGE. The round doughnuts are as big as my face, and the twist ones have to be like 8 inches long! So wonderful and for such a GREAT price! You must go check it out!

delite! delite! delite! gosh, i went here w/ my (half filipino) bf and i was like omg there is soo much to choose from. i have only been there once so i could only try a few things. there were so many people there on a sunday so already i'm thinking they know what they're doing! i got this humbow thing and it was sooo goood. my friend also ordered a cake for her bday and that was also delish, i just wish i remembered what i got so i can order it next time. its okay =) i'll just pick something else!

I was tasked, last minute, to buy a sheet cake for my coworker's retirement party. Less than 48 hours prior to the party, i called the store and asked if I could pick up a half sheet cake in 26 hours. A half sheet cake, Asian fruit cake, turned out to be $64. The lady who answered the phone was very polite and offered suggestions on the type of frosting and fillings. The cake was in the refrigerator when I arrived and boxed for me. They took credit card as well. PS This bakery has a parking lot, so much easier than going to International District and less traffic.
