The fries!!! The fries!!! Seriously, the fries are amazing here. Cut super thin, they are crispy and come to the table perfectly seasoned. But so is the burger that goes with it. I usually order their blue burger or the chicken sandwich, both of which are crave inducing. The buns they are using are perfect too, and they lay a nice toast on the bun. An untoasted bun is a sacrilege. Over in the bar, they have a bartender that looks like a mini-Christopher Reeves (viva la Superman) and if you tell him what kind of mood you are in and let him do his magic, he will create something unique for you on the spot. He did some kind of black magic with gin and grapefruit and other things that came to me in a martini glass with a fleshy blush to it. Absolutely divine. It's a great spot, glad it's in my 'hood.

S came here once before for breakfast and found it perfectly decent and since we'd failed to find parking close to Mioposto visited here for our Happy Hour outing. Everyone seems friendly and happy here from the bartender who greeted us, the waiter who took our order and the hostess who thanked us for visiting. They even split up the chicken burger with fries on two plates for us with the mayo and ketcup on the side as requested. The sandwich is well flavored, I'm sure moreso for S since I gave him my slice of thick pepper bacon and the mayo, but I enjoyed it very much! We LOVED the haystack fries. Piping hot or room temp, they retain their flavor and perfect crunch. I want to take a bucket of them to have with me at all times, but I fear I may OD on starch. Jak's Grill makes some mean fries, but they over salt them. Not so here at Copper Coin. They're perfect! A reason all on their own to visit! You can only find them this good at JOEY or Steak N Shake. Seriously, if we only desired fries and drinks, we'd make this our regular spot. I just wish much their menu wasn't so limited and their tacos so mayo-based. I wish mayonnaise were as dreaded as gluten so I'd have a fighting chance on most menus, but alas I wish in vain.

I tried their B&B Burger, which is a beef burger with bacon onion jam, dijon mayo, blue cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and a side of fries. The burger was a fairly good burger - I thought the bacon onion jam carried the burger with its flavor, and the simple fact that it had bacon in it. The rest of the burger was pretty standard, in my opinion. I liked that the fries were crispy, not soggy. My wife ordered the Golden Fish Tacos, which had beer battered cod, chipotle mayo, cabbage, pico de gallo, and guacamole. She ordered two tacos, which did a satisfactory job of filling her up. The tacos themselves didn't really stand out otherwise. The service was pretty standard, and the place was well-kept and clean. While it wasn't a bad experience, I didn't feel like anything really stuck out (good or bad, really) during our meal. Solid 3 stars.

I can understand why this place is popular with families who live in the admiral district and can walk over for a casual supper with drinks. There aren't that many places in west Seattle where you can get good drinks and bring your kids. I did enjoy the housemade ginger beer, and I intend to try it in a cocktail next time we go. The beer list is pretty good, although a bit less varied than I'd expected. The food was completely middle of the road. I had a "fishwich" which was fried fish and slaw on a bun. I thought it was pretty boring and slightly soggy. My husband had the jambalaya, which was surprisingly the best food of the evening. The onion rings and chicken strips and fries my kids had were nothing to write home about. I won't be adding this place to my regular rotation, but I know it has a large and loyal following, so I doubt I'll be missed much

Meh. This place has issues with service. It started out alright but our server passed us off to someone else since her shift was up, and we were totally ignored for the rest of the meal. I ended up just walking up to the bar and asking for my check. I got the grilled chicken salad and it was just fine. The chicken was dry and a little tired and all the little fiddley bits like bleu cheese and nuts had all fallen to the bottom so when the dish came to the table it looked like an oily Easter basket. My buddy got some mixed grill thing and he said it was very tasty, so if he were writing this they might have gotten more stars.

I went during happy hour after 9pm and ordered Vietnamese skewers and some Seattle cider. It was an amazing happy hour! Each skewer was about $5 packed with balanced-flavor and grilled tender but not cooked like those Vietnamese places I went for were salted highly and cooked to the core. I love the happy hour and obviously I am a foodie. I am not sure about the other things they provide (will come back soon) but I think this place is the spot to chill out. -Lam

Great wine on tap. Love the outdoor patio. My husband loves the burger here. All in all, great neighborhood hang out.

I had the grilled chicken street tacos and got two tacos for 10.00. Then I noticed you can also buy three tacos for only 1.00 more. Doesn't make sense to me but they were good nevertheless.

Copper coin is great. Love the burgers and the atmosphere. I do wish there were more choices on the menu though. I once had a seasonal dish that was INCREDIBLE. Butternut squash ravioli with goat cheese.....man i wish they would have that on the menu more often! Good place, good drinks, fair prices.

I wanted to give CC four stars, because the wait staff was good (one overworked waitress doing a stellar job of being super present and nice despite clearly being tired), and the food was really delicious. I wasn't expecting it to be that good to be honest. BUT, and it's a big BUT- The portions of my meal were laughable. I ordered the chimichurri steak. It was only like, $15, so I'm thinking a small piece of flank steak because hey- that's a cheap meal. My meal came with 6 green beans (cooked perfectly! and some little potato cake things (yummy!) and five one inch by half inch deli thin sliced pieced of flank steak. Cue sad face at getting what might have seriously been about 2 ounces of meat. I literally ate my meal in less then 15 (small) bites. It took like three minutes. I don't even really say this to complain, just to let potential visitors know that you might consider an appetizer if you're hungry for a full meal. My boyfriend got a burger of some sort, and he loved it and he got a ton of fries- so a fluke maybe? I plan on coming back and trying something else to see if I got a one-off experience.

Fish tacos and onion rings have become a tradition here... The burgers are also amazing, but not quite as amazing as the service. Lindsay is quite possibly the best waitress in Seattle... Nay, Washington. She is very attentive, friendly and hilarious :) Seriously... she can make a grown man giggle like a school girl.

Friendly staff, good food. I like the small town feel of this location, will be returning soon! :)

Ate in the bar. Very cool NW vibe and super friendly staff. Ordered a flight (bar tender's choice) and the glazed salmon tacos. Both delivered magnificently. The guac on the tacos was delicious and I generally don't eat guac. This place was highly recommended to me by a friend and I highly recommend it to you too!

  • Kara G.

The food was decent, service not great. I had the Mixed Grill Entrée, and my husband had the Jambalaya. We were both pleased with our meals (with the exception of the shrimp being a little over done ). The service wasn't great, our waiter didn't seem interested in being there, or helping us. We asked him about purchasing a growler when we sat down, wanting to know the price. After we had eaten and signed the check, we still had no answer. Maybe the experience would have been better with another server, but the food was still good.

I used to come to Copper Coin at least twice a week. Went there last Friday and sat in the bar. This barely over 18 kid was attempting to play bartender, and had no bar knowledge and didn't know what a Stoli and Tonic was. I saw her pathetic attempts at mixing up cocktails which took so long I guarantee patrons could have gone to the liquor store and swung by home to make their own drink in this amount of time. I asked her about the 2 Pilsners on tap and she told me she didn't personally like beer. If I wanted such terrible service and lack of common sense and knowledge I would go to a high school house party...

  • Jessica J.

The food was delicious, it was just a real bummer that the service was lacking. Super inattentive and even appeared slightly annoyed that we came to have dinner (also noting that my bf and I are very easy customers). The food almost earned it a 3, but honestly it wasn't good enough to return after such a disappointing overall experience. Porterhouse that was in that spot prior had the exact same issue, it's like this place kept the same staff.

The service was on-point the night we went in. It's too bad that every thing else seems wrong about this restaurant--translating literally to, "I've had better." Thanks Yelp, for the apt description. I'm not sure what look they're going for, but there is a lack of atmosphere here. Because it wasn't comfortable or jolly (you know I love jolly places!) I felt like I wanted to leave right after sitting down. The nice waitperson we had was the only reason why we stayed. I had the chicken salad. The chicken was freshly shredded but there was no flavor in it. Like, none. I omitted the croutons and bleu cheese, which I normally don't do, but who knew that the bleu cheese was NEEDED to be there for SOME flavor? At $12, I almost meh'd my forehead on the table. My guy had the chicken sandwich, which was recommended to us. It looked/tasted good, but the fries, he noted, were not good. The burger looked very Red Robin-y (a chain place that I think is actually good!) but you don't get the benefit of delicious bottomless fries. And Red Robin salt. The rest of the menu tries to look like it can keep up with the Joneses, but it was kind of boring. I hope they can define a feel and an amazing menu soon.

Great burger joint with a good selection of beer. I couldn't decide if I wanted fish and chips or a chicken burger, so I went for the fishwich! Prices were OK. Service was great. Portions were good, too. Plus, they source there food from local places!

  • Carla R.

They serve Red Mill onion rings and a very tasty garlicky tarter sauce. We went on Christmas Eve so kind of odd circumstances but our waiter was friendly and the Cascade Cup cocktail made me forget I was homesick for my traditional family celebration....well at least for a little while. The bacon onion jam on the B&B burger was super flavorful and really made the burger worth the calories. Nice local haunt.

After reading reviews on much procrastination, I finally stopped in for an order to go after doing Sunday afternoon errands. I was immediately greeted by a lovely, smiling woman, as well as a friendly woman behind the bar. They were not very busy and my order for a Deluxe Burger to go was ready in about 10 minutes. As I waited, I observed the warm, friendly reception subsequent customers received, and I liked it. I am a burger snob with dietary issues. I also am not a fan of generic ground beef, and I seek out burger joints that only used ground chuck or ground sirloin. I am a devout fan of Zippys and their ground chuck, but they are too far away from an immediate Alki craving. Yes, there is Fatburger and Pepperdocks, but here's the deal: The burger I got today was deluxe and delicious, and what I really appreciate about the Copper Coin is that they care enough to use ground sirloin, instead of some low grade ground beef patty that makes you wonder what you're really eating. And, they use Tillamook cheddar instead of processed American cheese, so I know that I can eat their burger on Sunday, I won't have GI distress on Monday (those who are lactose intolerant will understand). A burger has to be extraordinary to convince me to eat generic ground beef on occasion, and so far that is only found at Red Robin, but fortunately I don't need to lower my standards and travel there, now that I know I can get what I need at Copper Coin

Meh, nice people, but food is mediocre for the price. I'd rather drive to Dravus and get the real Red Mill burger. I thought this is the same owner, food isn't as good.

Good tacos and chicken sandwich. Great drink selection. Friendly service. Not a lot to choose from as far as food but what they had was good. Would hit them up for a drink in the summer as they have outdoor seating if you want it.

  • Jenna H.

The Vietnamese tacos were really surprisingly good. Calamari is pretty standard, didn't overcook and make chewy. The seafood chowder was good too, I think it should be served hotter, but it had good flavor and lots of seafood in it! I've had two different servers there and both ladies were very attentive. Lucky I live across from this place :)

I love this place! Danielle and Nicole are always sweet to my family. I meet my Uncle Bob on Saturdays for brunch. Food is outstanding! The Service is wonderful! They welcome my Service Dog "Barney" w/out a hitch. Great establishment!

Came here one evening as the sun was going down and we were promptly seated on the patio, which was very nice. Our server was sweet and attentive and she recommended many beers, the one I went with was great. The menu features a variety of different items, yet I went with a classic bacon avocado cheeseburger, which sounded delicious, and my boyfriend got the chicken burger with melted cheese. They were both really good, and I really liked the skinny fries. Overall, it was a good food and a great place to chill outside.

  • Jasmine W.

Not Bad. I was hestitent to try this out initially when it opened due to so-so reviews but the hubbs and I decided to try it out. We had a deluxe burger and fries. I was impressed with the sauce on the deluxe and loved the shoestring fries. It doesn't seem to have the "happening" vibe that the old Porterhouse used to have, but again- not bad.

Went here with some friends the other day and had a good time! Their happy hour is a little different than other places I've been in that they have one selected cocktail that they brew in house, beer, some appetizers, and a few meals. Not a whole lot of selection from these sections but definitely enough. I recommend splitting appetizers if you're going with a group because the ones we ordered were delicious and the skinny fries are incredibly good. Our waitress was sweet and hanging out on the patio to eat was the right choice.

It's descent, but I wish the food was a little better. It's pretty basic. If you're looking for bar food and drinks, it's a great neighborhood place. The beer selection is really good, and I like the feel of the bar area and outdoor patio when it's open.

Their chicken nuggets are excellent and I had the Deluxe burger which was perfectly done. A little pink on the inside and perfect toppings!

I was a bit hesitant to go to Copper Coin last night on their opening night but everything went smoothly. We were seated promptly and the service was great. They've got around 20 beers on tap and I enjoyed some Two Beers Fresh Hop along with some tasty battered fish tacos. They've got a concise menu with pub fare on the fresher, slightly fancier side. I like what they've done with the main dining area. They added more booths and the room is livelier since The Porterhouse days.

What a refreshing addition to the Admiral Junction area! I started with a Caballero and K had a Bitter Bee off the cocktail menu. After first sips, we were tickled to find that our first thought was "I could drink this all night!" We sampled a wild mushroom quesadilla, gooey with four cheeses and well paired with chipotle sour cream and a nice side of field greens. K switched to the Dogfish Head 90 off the ample beer list while I ordered the petite verdot (on tap...and, for a by-the-glass offering, delicious!) to go along with our mains. And what mains they were! I had the Deluxe burger with fries, while she had the special, which was a mushroom swiss burger, sub onion rings. Competition in the burger space is stiff, particularly in West Seattle, and these 1/3 lb monsters held their own. But the real delight here is the sides. The shoestring fries are crispy, light and endlessly addictive. And the "O Rings"? Sweet to the taste, crunchety without being overpowering, and seasoned with what appeared to be magic, I could easily make these my main dish next time, and I don't particularly care for onion rings. Very, very happy to have these guys in the neighborhood!

Lame that they always close early. Kick out several people on a regular basis when it get close to midnight. Owners need to examine their business savvy...

All in all very solid. Great beer, good food, consistent and friendly service. Seems to have a lot of regulars too so it's kind of a neighborhood hangout. Easily my favorite spot in the Admiral area.

I'm surprised this doesn't have 5 stars. Amazing food, great prices and amazing staff. The restaurant itself is very cute and they have such an organized way of serving people. Best local restaurant in Alki that I've been to in the 7 months I've lived here. Highly recommend.

I really really want to like this place! We got there in the early afternoon and the place was empty (mid-week). Server was very friendly and efficient. Service is an A+. The atmosphere was nice, the beer and wine good. The food, could easily be better. Friends that ordered the fish tacos and fish and chips said they needed improvement. My chicken sandwich was fine, my friend who ordered the chicken salad said the chicken needed more flavor. Could be a great spot, just need to improve the food.

Our neighborhood staple that we walk to. We enjoy the sexy but casual atmosphere. Great and large rotating tap selection! Always surprised to find a new and interesting brew. Food is delicious! I'm not a fry girl but I can't stop eating these ones! Also, highly recommend the chicken salad or the juicy deluxe burger. Managers and staff are down to earth, enjoyable to chat with and obviously take pride in their "baby" ;). The only thing we would suggest is more rotating dinner specials...as locals we need to look forward to new flavors-

I really dig this place and am thankful for their amazing beer selection and yummy food to land in the Admiral Neighborhood. The newly opened outdoor patio is a huge bonus to take advantage of on a nice sunny day. Service is always prompt and friendly. Food is delicious here. I've had the garden deluxe (hand-formed white bean patty, dijon-mayo, pickled tomatillo, guacamole, slaw) and it was absolutely divine! The burger was quite large so half was plenty. Their oven roasted chicken salad is really great too. Entree-sized and they don't skimp on the chicken. A friend of mine got the Babe's Onion rings and they looked and smelled wonderful - I didn't try any, tho... :( This is a great place to have dinner before catching a movie at Admiral Theater or if you want to dine outdoors in a more relaxed environment (compared to Alki on a busy sunny day). Keep up the good work, Copper Coin - you're making the neighborhood folks quite happy.

The food here is very good for bar fare... very tasty and creative with a lot of flavors. The burger is great with or without the bun! What I don't care much for is the loud, cold ambiance of the main dining area. It's loud and uncomfortable. it feels like it's unfinished and not in that cool unfinished warehouse feel...almost like they moved in and didn't tell anyone. Their bar area though looks great, I haven't had a chance to eat there instead.

Just not impressed for the price. Fish and chip was over $10 for two pieces of fish that had a hard shell that you could not bite through, was definitely not light and flackery. Hamburger was ok but not for the price, there cousin restaurant was better. The decoration was not much. Way better places in West Seattle

We go here all the time, and it's always excellent! Great beer selection, great food, great service.

We've now ordered burgers to go from here several times. Let's put it this way I live 2 blocks from Dukes and Pepperdock and never order take out. They are THAT good. They should be since the owner's family owns RedMill. Everything else on the menu is still hit and miss. On our last in house visit we had the skewers(excellent) Calamari(okay),Pasta(meh) and vegan French Onion Soup(excellent). The service and positive atmosphere are still top notch!

  • Julie S.

We have tried this place two more times for dinner. It just keeps getting better! The service has been consistently good, and the salads are more well-rounded. I still wish they had a seafood or veggie satay combo though.

Unfortunately, Copper Coin is very boring. Food is boring. Atmosphere is boring. It's boring. And that bums me out. I want all West Seattle businesses to thrive and become a new neighborhood favorite. I don't know if Copper Coin will make the cut. We both had the Jambalaya, which was flavorful but dry. I'm one to devour all kinds of meat and fish, yet I stayed away from the prawns in this dish. Something was funky and didn't taste nor smell right. The other menu items were nothing to write home about either. Burgers. Fried food. The basics. As for decor, I'm 99.9% sure it is exactly the same as the previous restaurant, Blackbird Bistro. The wall prints include a photo of a raven and a close up of a cow's eye (maybe it's a lamb or a buffalo or who knows what), which are not in harmony with Copper Coin's American bar vibe. Is just not working. And that's so unfortunate. They do have a nice beer selection and a full bar available. Plus, our sever was fantastic. We told her that we had plans to catch a movie at the Admiral next door and she helped us get there on time. The bar was packed with sports fans watching a weekday game. Hopefully the sports crowd will keep Copper Coin afloat.

I'm not sure what all of the "slow service" reviews are about. I've been here twice. The first time I ordered the calamari for our group to share, we weren't getting dinner. It was out in less than 5 minutes and the server was very attentive the entire night. The second time I stopped in I was just getting dinner by myself. I ate at the bar and the bartender was very responsive and after only 10 minutes she "apologized" that the food was taking so long. I ordered the steak tacos which were good, not amazing (however, great guac) but I also enjoyed a few of the on tap beers, of which there is a solid selection. Will visit again, need to catch their happy hour next time.

This is my go to place. The happy hour is good. Try the mixed skewers. They have and excellent rotating beer selection. Very friendly staff and a great burger! I would like to see some new specials though since I've eaten everything on the menu....I had a Ruben here last st Patrick's day that was the best I ever had! Fun place to watch a game and grab a pint or 3.

I was pretty impressed with the food, service, and staff at copper coin... And let me preface this post by saying that not much impresses me. The place has only been open for a few weeks, but go ahead and take a chance with copper coin and you likely will not be disappointed. We had the penne and cheese and Vietnamese beef skewers. The skewers were great, only to be overshadowed by the delicious roasted peanut slaw(of which we had seconds!) that came with. The penne and Che' was really different, but in a good way. The Mornay that topped the penne included a handful of various cheeses and bread crumbs. It hit the spot. The only issue I had with the Mac was the portion size for 12 bucks. It wasn't small by any means, but maybe I'm just a big eater. All and all, a great experience.

Good draft selection, but little else worth mentioning. There really was no reason to eat here, nor is there a reason to go back, other than they have late dining. Too many other great places in West Seattle.

  • Kim J.

It's great to see this neighborhood spot back in business. After three visits, I've had consistently great service - well informed, friendly, fast. Food has come up quickly and it's what you would expect from a local neighborhood pub. My food faves - the fish tacos are tasty (they could use a side of cole slaw), and the Vietnamese beef skewers were tender and flavorful. Great beer selection - 19 microbrews on tap, all well considered. Snappy beer cocktails too. The changes they made to the interior decor, like brightening up the back-bar and adding built-in booths, made it seem more comfortable and cozy. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5: very small misses by the kitchen. The burgers are too small for the bun. The steak frite came out just under the requested medium. The five-ring onion rings portion seems like one or two rings too skimpy. Small things like that, and easy to fix. And I think they will get them fixed. Huge kudos to the owners and managers - for us the service has hit the ground running from the first day.

  • Danielle F.

I just did not love this place, and I really wanted to after seeing so many different businesses pass through this space. A pretty uninspiring menu with the basics but nothing that makes me really excited to come back. The burgers are decent (but it's pretty hard to mess up a burger), other food is more hit and miss.

I head here with a group of 7-10 guys here every Wednesday after we ride bikes. We get there around 830 after the dinner crowd has mostly left. The bar area is usually still pretty hopping. We can always slide some tables together and have a nice place for our larger group. Always have a great list of beers on tap and they currently have one brewed especially for them by Two Beers in SoDo. I love getting the bean patty burger, but a lot of the guys usually get the happy hour tacos and say they're great. In addition to normal happy hour, they also have a late night happy hour from 9 on. If you ask nicely, sometimes it starts a bit early :)

  • Nicole F.

Based on 3 experiences over the last 4 months I can confidently recommend this place for great beer selection, burgers (had the deluxe and the b&b burgers), fries , onion rings, house salad (great dressing) and kid food! They used quality meat- and hand make their own kid chicken strips and BBQ sauce- yum! I disagree with previous reviewer that one can't screwup a burger. These burgers are hand made/formed with rich tasting beefy-beef not a pressed, frozen Sysco patty like so many restaurants use. They chose to support local farmers as often as possible and threw support in for the GMO labeling initiative- additional evidence they choose to use quality ingredients. These guys also have roots in with red mill burgers - and I think they may use the same burger sauce recipe. If you are a foodie and enjoy a good high quality burger, go here.

Great food, great service, and 20 taps. What more could you want for a Friday night in West Seattle. It seems like most of the negative reviews are rooted in missing what used to be here. GET OVER IT. Things change, and the Copper Coin is a great addition to North Admiral.

  • Mica D.

Just get a burger. I got the B&B Burger...mouth explosion of flavors! None too overpowering. Juiciest mouth-watering-goodness. Hands down the best burger of my life. After reading the other reviews, like I said, just get a burger! My husband liked his fish tacos (fresh, nummy, fixings) but wished he had gotten the same burger as me after I MADE him take a bite it was so delicious (and I am not one to share great food...yeah, I'm selfish when it comes to this) and he had to know it. Son pounded his plate too and he's a finicky eater. Just get a burger!!!!!!

My partner and I wanted to go on a little bike ride for a beer, and we'd never tried the Copper Coin before. We were both pleasantly surprised by the beer selection - lots of good local microbrews. We hadn't planned on a snack, but were tempted by the fish tacos on the happy hour menu, and they were very good: nice portion size, good guacamole, flaky, tasty fish. Maybe a little heavy on the batter, but I would absolutely get them again. I also want to try the other vegetarian/pescatarian happy hour option, the mushroom quesadilla. Service was timely and pleasant. Overall, I was really happy to have finally tried this place and I know we'll be back soon.

So, I came here right when they opened, it was not the best experience. I came back last night and helped myself to a delicious micro brew and a B&B burger! The burger was so succulent and delicious. I love my burgers, but honestly this was the best burger I have had in Seattle! It melted in ny mouth with a burst of flavor each bite. Now I have a new go to burger spot. Thank you for the great service and meal, I'll be back!

Amazing B&B burger--blue cheese and bacon/Carmelized onion jam...yummy! Big beer on tap selection and fantastic happy hour.

WORST SERVICE EVER! After waiting 45 minutes for our food and asking the waitress about our order multiple times, with lame excuses like, they are short staffed and bigger orders go in after smaller orders (we only had 4 people in our group). We left without eating after 3 other tables that came in after us by 30 minutes received their food before us. NEVER eat here if you're hungry, you'll starve before your food comes.

The service here left me wanting something better. While the drinks were delicious they were low on booze. The food here was amazing though so that's why I am giving them a 3 star. We were also seated in the bar area so I am not sure if service is better in the general seating area.

Service was good. Food was ho-hum. Decent but not particularly good or interesting. Also, the portions were quite small, and the price was not too cheap. I came starving, and I left still hungry. Nothing wrong with this place, but not worth the price with other good options nearby. ---------- Update: This place gets high reviews from others, so maybe I am an anomaly. But I've tried them a few times now and their burgers are simply bad. It's about the quality you'd find at a large picnic or fairgrounds--or a little worse. Thin patty and mostly bun, and some meager toppings.

I was waiting for something to move back in here and hoping it would be better than the last place, but Copper Coin is mostly the same. The beer, while a decent selection, is simply overpriced. I can't think of a good reason to go here over Circa down the street.

The steak skewers are the best happy hour dish I've had. The portion is generous for 5 bucks, and the roasted peanut slaw could practically be served by itself. The two things compliment each other beautifully. The $1.50 Rainiers don't hurt, either!

The first night was great as per the original review. Went back twice again. Had the burger twice. Wife's was overcooked and mine was undercooked. Mine was...just OK. They didn't notice our drinks empty on multiple occasions. Third time back despite others I know are already writing the place off, had their special - burger and a beer for $12. Oh my gosh undercooked and now the burger appears to be cheaper than before, not nearly like the second time. I have no idea what's going on behind the scenes especially in the kitchen, but this place will be changing hands within a year or less. Unless they've got money to burn and no capability to listen to their customers. It's a shame, really. I'd even take the broken Porterhouse over this place now. I guess at least the beer is still good. But anyone can serve beer.

I went into copper coin, ordered the burger of the month. Meat was very under cooked, bun was dry and burnt. By then I just wanted to get out of the place.... perhaps they need a new chef. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone of my friends.

This place is not much better than the place it replaced. Mediocre food, mediocre beer.

The atmosphere is very easy going and chill. A friend came into town to visit and I knew this was the place to take him. We sat for a good while (they have two happy hour time blocks), drank plenty (they have tons of great beers), ate delicious food (try their mixed grill skewer), and the staff is always on point. Very attentive yet not overbearing wait staff which is the perfect kind in my opinion.

Horrendous! Visited twice both on the "soft opening" and a week later. Very nice and a gracious young host. Waiter on both occasions was most pleasant but acted as if we were his long lost friends.....most irritating as he sat his ass next to us and when taking the orders would kneel at the table. Made the mistake by attending the opening night and hamburgers were terrible but beer quite good. One burger was burnt, the other much too rare and the buns were twice the size of the tasteless burgers. Hard to believe that these folks are from the same family that operates Red Mill burgers. Ordered the calamari which was marginal and the mixed grill skewers had obviously been grilled not once but twice. Super tough, inedilble, served on burnt french bread. And perhaps the biggest turn off was watchng the ungloved guy in the kitchen rearranginig food on the plates. Intersestingly enough, went to Angelina's the night following our second visit and ran into two different sets of neighbors that we had seen on our second visit to the Copper Coin. Long story short, their experience was the same as ours and suffice it to say, there are now three couples in the North Admiral area that will no longer be patronizing the Copper Coin. Noticed in other reviews on the internet that a number of folks found it disturbing that there was no sign on the door.....probably a good thing as judging by the total lack of concern and quality of what's coming out of the kitchen, there will yet be new ownerss within a year. A tough review...absolutely....does the restaurant care? Probably not. Bottom line, a good place for a drink or beer but if you're looking for decent food, walk away, go down the block to Angelina's.

I wanted to like this place, but wasn't given a chance. We stood at the bar with the two slowest bartenders I've ever seen in West Seattle. Not even being acknowledged they couldn't focus on more than what was directly in front of them. It was a weekend, but still the power of letting someone know that you'll be right with them or even a hello would have justified us staying. I'll give it another try for a slow lunch so I can give a proper review. Plus I'll make sure to avoid the bar.

I hope this place improves because the neighborhood needs a good burger joint. On my first visit, I ordered the burger and was told they cooked it "medium well." It showed up bloody. Second visit, I asked for my burger to be more done and not bloody, It showed up EXTREMELY WELL DONE. I'd like to have a burger "just right," but their cooks don't seem at all consistent with their definitions of medium well or well.

So glad to see Copper Coin open! I've been walking by watching their progress for the last couple months, and I have to say the final product looks amazing. It's a very warm and inviting atmosphere inside with nice colors, cool photos. They broke the dining room up into 2 smaller dining rooms, which makes it feel more cozy and comfortable. I got to chat with the owner, Aaron, for a little while. He's a really nice guy with a great vision for the space. I asked him about the lack of a sign and he said one is being made and should be up in the next week or so. We came in and had a beer at the bar to start because there was a wait for a table. Greg was super helpful behind the bar and chose a delicious IPA for me. My husband had a very tasty Old Fashion-like cocktail. The bar is a great space, although I think they will wish it was a bit bigger. It was definitely busy in there. Dinner was great. SUCH an upgrade from Porterhouse. I had the Salmon burger, which had a beautiful thick filet of salmon cooked PERFECTLY, with a red pepper sauce and nice hearty bun. Healthy and delicious. Husband had the deluxe burger with the famous Red Mill onion rings (so good). His burger was cooked perfectly medium rare as he ordered it. We were both stuffed after dinner and bummed we couldn't get dessert. Next time! Service was polite, friendly and attentive (thanks Amanda!) Overall, it's a comfortable, friendly neighborhood place (kids are welcome!) with a great bar program and really high quality pub-like food. We will be back here many many times!!

Yum Yum! Bacon jam, blue cheese, and great fries with pesto mayo. Gotta love the pesto mayo with real basil! Yum Yum Yum...best burger I have had in ages! Good size portions also! The service was great.

The manager gave our table to his friends after we had already sat down. Really? I'm sorry to say that I and my friends won't be returning. It's too bad to see management act that way. I'm pissed we've spent money there. Quite a bit of money too. Damnit, I was rooting for this place. Not any more.

We have been waiting for this place to open, in hopes that it will be better than the hit-or-miss previous occupant of this space. We went in trepidatiously... And were pleasantly surprised! The burgers were excellent, and quickly delivered. They were cooked perfectly. I am super picky about burgers...these met all of my specifications for medium rare: -crispy and savory on the outside -pink and juicy on the inside -medium frickin' rare for once The fries were good as well, although I more prefer steak cut fries. But the burgers were ideal. The service: Was excellent. Attentive, friendly wait staff; no 'tudes being copped, and quick to bring the bill when asked. If you like big juicy burgers, this is your place. Oh! Also! They have an excellent beer selection, with a couple from my favorite local brewery, Two Beers Brewing. They even have a special brew made by Two Beers exclusively for Copper Coin, a draft called The Coin. It wasn't to my preference, but it was a well-balanced beer nonetheless. You should give this place a chance! They are new! Some other reviews are quite negative, but come on, they have only been open a little while now. It takes a bit to get into the sweet spot, right? Check them out.

We went to Copper Coin after a friend had recommended it. There was some confusion before we were seated but not a big deal. I thought the hostess had seated us, but turns out she was our waitress. She took our drink order maybe 10 minutes after we sat down. I ordered the $4 ginger beer, which was delicious but came in a cocktail glass full of ice. Did I really pay $4 for 6oz? My husband ordered the fish tacos and I ordered the chicken burger. We received our food, but quickly realized the tacos were an appetizer and not a dinner. I split my chicken burger with my husband. Unfortunately, the chicken was really flavorless. We left hungry and perturbed. The beer was good and if that's what you want, this would be a decent place to stop. Just don't expect an amazing dinner.

Great new addition to West Seattle! Amazing beer selection that is always rotating, and the food is good too. I recommend the Grilled Chicken Burger.

The place was happening when we walked in last Saturday evening. We waited about 5 minutes for a table and had great and knowledgeable service the entire meal. The beer selection is good and the wines they offer are tasty too. We all liked our meals (wild salmon on a bed of greens per request, the mac n cheese and the chicken salad) and enjoyed the lively atmosphere. Was it the best food ever? No, but it was damn good and we had a great experience there. Welcome to West Seattle Copper Coin, hope you stay around for a while. Love the subtle decor too.

I rolled in on their opening day for lunch...met the owner...good peeps, solid food and a great variety of beers on tap!...i only wish i wasnt working, I would have enjoyed a few Pilsners

Girl and I were wandering around looking for some grub. Not being a west seattlite I was somewhat clueless. This place looked inviting and menu looked good. Was a good choice... They had a great beer selection the chuckanut pils is good times in a glass. The deluxe burger or whatever it was tasty stuff a bit messy but delicious. Not a big fan of the fries but at least they were cooked properly. All and all can't go wrong if you're on the west side.

Copper Coin is a wonderful local addition to the 'hood and erases the bitter taste (*ahem*) left by the former tenants (see my review for Porterhouse for more details). We hit up Copper Coin at least once a week, sometimes more! Our favorites are the salmon burger (super fresh and delicious!), fish tacos (the salmon are best!), the seafood chowder, the uber-decadent mac & cheese when it was on the menu, the addictive but heavily battered onion rings, and the deluxe burger (just $10 and my husband prefers it to the famed Tom Douglas Palace Kitchen burger, which regularly wins "best of Seattle burger"). I always crave California cuisine, which means: fresh and delicious sandwiches, a great fish sandwich, fish tacos, and an awesome chopped salad, and oddly, I've come to look to Copper Coin to satisfy this craving. (sidebar: Why is there no restaurant in Seattle with some decent salad varietals on the menu?!?) The only reason this isn't a 5-star review is because of some slight inconsistencies in how things are prepared, most noticeable when it's very busy. I have had some overly blackened salmon, occasionally, but most of the time it's perfect. The fries and onion rings are a yummy deep fried indulgence, the constantly interesting and rotating beer list is a winner, their mixed drinks list is not a throwaway, and they even have two delicious and not-too-sweet non-alcoholic drinks on the menu (a rarity in alki-heaven Seattle) for those who can't or choose not to imbibe. The service is always friendly and fast, and the atmosphere is chill and fun. My only suggestion is to beef up the salad offerings and maybe add a couple more fresh (not deep fried) appetizers like flatbreads, grilled skewers, house made dips with fresh veggies,etc.... Overall, we are so happy to support this great local spot! The owners, chefs and staff of Copper Coin has what it takes to erase the curse of the consistently doomed restaurant space this spot became known for! Stay here forever!

I had a late lunch here yesterday. I will definitely go back. I had the Deluxe Burger. As several reviews have said, it was delicious - medium rare, juicy, and very full of flavor. I have heard their clam chowder is excellent. I will try it next time. The only reason I have given this restaurant four stars instead of five is the service. Exceedingly slow.

Asked the server if they planned on getting a sign outside and he said the owner didn't think so. The food was average at best. The menu was small and it had nothing that stood out. The service was poor. I would go back to get drinks, but not for food.

Copper Coin has great hamburgers and consistently hot and crisp french fries. Their seafood chowder is good as well and their beer selection is varied and interesting. It's also within walking distance of my house which makes it even better! If you are in the mood for a burger and beer on Monday nights they have a $12 burger and beer deal which is a nice perk!

So happy that they expanded their menu.. when this place first opened, I really wanted to like it, but they had very few options for vegetarians. The new white bean burger is absolutely delicious.. not your average veggie burger - guacamole, pickle tomatillos. YUM. The beer selection is just as good as the place before and the servers are always knowledgeable. I will definitely be back!

We had extremely poor service at the Copper Coin this week. Our glasses and plates were not cleared for over an hour. When we went to put them on the corner of the bar so we could better use the table, the manager was very, very rude and snapped at us and said "we'll decide when to clear your table!" We spent a great deal of money there, so when one of the guests in our party asked for the manager's name to report him to the owner for the bad service we received, he said "we can do this outside" - and then said we were not welcome back. This is the worst service I have ever experienced in West Seattle. Our group spent hundreds of dollars. The manager was so incredibly inexperienced, defensive and rude that none of the guests in the party will ever return to Copper Coin. The owner obviously has no vision into the way the Copper Coin manager and staff treat their customers. This was an absolutely Horrible experience. It was like something from the Twilight Zone...

Was at CC for happy hour last night and we really enjoyed ourselves. The house cocktail was great, and the happy hour price on starters was a really good value. Hopefully this place lasts!
