My son said "this is the best crepe I ever had in my whole life!" Excellent crepes and family friendly. Very clean too!

Great espresso and a plethora of crepe options makes this place s real hit. I generally get the savory (especially the chicken pesto #11) but my wife likes the fruit or berry options. They're both great and a perfect way to start ones day...

We had their ham&spinach crepe and mushroom&tomato crepe. Both were very delicious and well presented. This place seem like a popular place for locals to read, gather, study, and mobile working . They have free wifi. Staffs are very friendly. It's just a beautiful, nice, and comfortable oasis in this car-oriented neighborhood.

For some reason...I really can't really like this place. The food is ok, I like the coffee. Service is...variable. I think the acoustics are bad, there are always crumbs on the tables, and it drives me bonkers that patrons park out front during the 7-9 hour when it's no parking (considering there is a parking lot). I realize that's not really the Cafe's fault but it makes me feel like the other patrons are self involved jerks who I don't want to share a coffee shop with! I like it better when I can sit outside, then I would give it 4 stars :)

Food is fine. Customer service is absolutely terrible. For fifteen minutes I watched my fully prepared food wait behind a counter because no one would run it. I couldn't even get someone's attention to box it up because the barista was casually chatting too much to be interrupted, and then who knows where the rest of the staff was but it sure wasn't running food. This is pretty funny as crepes get soggy early from their thin consistency but I guess their food quality matters as much to them as their customer service. I stood in front trying to get a cashier, barista or anyone's attention for 5-10 minutes while my food was similarly ignored. I will not be returning.

The chicken pesto crepe is so good I never get anything else, I really should branch out! Everything is homemade, the coffee cake is moist and delicious. They have good coffee and a decent tea selection at well. Wonderful, attentive service and everyone is very nice. They also have ample outlets for computers!

I came here on a Saturday morning around 10:45 with one friend and it was packed! I tried to snatch a table by the window, but a family of four had already claimed it before the current seated customers even got up. Backup plan: a smaller two-person table next to the window table. There were a few flies buzzing around, so that was annoying. The food itself was alright, but I could've made it myself. I might come back for a chai or latte to go in the future, but no more food.

This is a fantastic place with great coffee, great food and a great vibe. I love that you can get a wide range of pastries and also some really delicious, substantial crepes if you're in the mood for more. The Wedgwood location is great, easy to walk, easy to park, cute sidewalk tables. I love how much they support community events too -- great to see them handing out free treats at the recent Wedgwood movie night and many other such events. No wonder they have so many regulars.

I prefer this location to the one on Roosevelt. It feels a bit less cramped, has better air flow, and there's plenty of street parking. Perhaps it's a bit quieter too. Service has always been nice and efficient. They offer all the standard caffeine fixes and food too. Crepes, sandwiches, salads, etc. I've only tried their breakfast cookie before, but it was delicious and not too sugary. Will be back.

Love the Maple Leaf location (on 5th), but also positive props for the expanded Wedgwood location (on 35th). Definite plusses - friendly counter staff and baristas, coffee card, pleasing pastry case and love the crepes and scones! Both sites create the strong sense of neighborhood which is consistently noted with every visit.

I met up with a friend here for breakfast over the holidays. It is a cute little cafe with plenty of tables. I was salivating the moment I saw the menu. It was tough to choose what to order! I was debating sweet vs savory crepes and ended up with a savory one - Sauteed Mushrooms, Swiss Cheese, Tomatoes, and Spinach. It was very tasty! Luckily, I got a bite of my friend's Goat Cheese, Apricot Jam, And Toasted Almonds crepe as well to sate my desire for something sweet. I also had a hot chocolate, which was super delicious and covered in plenty of tasty whipped cream. The staff was friendly and prices were reasonable. I'd definitely visit this location again!

They have Stumptown cold brew on tap which is basically what my blood is made of at this point. Super busy on the weekends, but I've never had to wait more than a couple minutes for my coffee and maybe 20 minutes for food. Very popular neighborhood cafe. Great to sit outside with your dogs and relax if you can get a table. They have many delicious pastries, housemade quiches, and sweet and savory crepes. Everything is really reasonably priced and the staff is super friendly.

Delicious! I'm in town, visiting family, and was looking for an alternative to the chain coffee shops. I'm a foodie and love coffee too. I ordered a dirty soy chai and a crepe special and was not disappointed. Approx $13

  • Angela B.

Cute little cafe. Love that they serve crepes, I wish more cafés did that. They also have gluten free options. Service can be a bit slow, but the food is worth the wait. Clean, comfy, free wifi. Good location. There is another location not far from here. Prices are reasonable.

Great local coffee cafe and really nice employees. Their strawberry crepes are very tasty!

Cafe javasti is one of my favorite coffee shops in Seattle. It has a great atmosphere with a cross between modern and retro, and it all of the staff are really friendly. Their coffee and crepes are very good. They have fast service as well. I love coming here on a rainy day out just to hang out!

  • Alyssa P.

Best coffee in NE Seattle! Owners are awesome and the baristas are very friendly in addition to pulling yummy shots. In addition to coffee they have fresh made in house baked goods, crepes, soup and they always have a couple kinds of panini sandwiches. What a great local hang out in this corner of Seattle.

Lucy, Amelia & Jessica keep the line moving in the early morning, serving up great coffee, scones and crepes.

  • Steve F.

Five stars because javasti has some of the best coffee (I drink americanos) that you can drink in Seattle. Always a good shot pulled by the baristas, and there is always a nice thick crema on an americano. Love this place

Went here randomly because Kona kitchen across had a huge wait for food so thought we would try it out since we had never been. The crepes were delicious and very reasonably priced for the size! Excited to have found this spot so close to my house!

Nice small local place that I keep driving by on my to Northgate shops and Target. Had to stop by due to the ample parking directly out in front of the cafe (particularly after driving around the block this am outside Zoka and eventually giving up.) Glad I stopped in. Nice warm spot with attractive looking baked goods. Warm terracotta walls, blonde wood bar and chairs and tables, two leather lounge seats and low set lighting creates ambiance (although truth be told, it was a bit dark in here even during the day.) Free Wifi without any annoying login difficulties at all, and reggae music at low levels --well you get the idea. My soy latte was a double, and strong, but the soy they were using had an odd taste. The window is a very narrow one for making a great latte, and its involves great expresso, perfect crema, and in my case, tasty soy milk . Since this is my drink of choice, I think we may not be the perfect match, Cafe Javasti and I, but the staff was nice and this looks to be a good, friendly neighborhood spot.

I walked in with my kids after my daughter's ballet class a few shops over. It was the lung hour and it was pretty busy. We were able to snag a table and ordered a savory chicken, mushroom and tomato crepe and the sweet apricot, almond and goat cheese crepe for is to share. They were delicious! My daughter especially loved the savory crepe and my son just about devoured the sweet crepe. She is 4 and he is 2. It took a while to actually get the order, but it might have seemed too long because we were hungry and kids get antsy when hungry, which in turn makes mommy antsy too. This place is less than a mile from our home and I think we definitely need to come more often to get a taste of all their crepes.

I don't like to give out too many 5 star reviews, but Cafe Javasti hit everything I like in a coffee shop, which are: 1. more than just coffee and baked goods that look like they came from the High School cheerleading bake sale--they have lots of sandwich options, and crepes--how great is that. 2. They saw me with my computer and asked if I wanted to test the wifi before I even ordered. Very considerate and smart. Nothing is more awkward than sitting down at a coffee shop ready to crank out some work, and next thing you know you have no wifi, and I've got to drink down my coffee and eat my muffin as fast as I can so I can go find another coffee shop with wifi. 3. Good space, great decor. I always like the neighborhood appropriate mid-century modern. 4. Playing morning appropriate music. I like Gwar as much as the next guy, but it is more 10 PM music, not 6 AM. 5. Good coffee. 6. Good space with the appropriate furniture--the right mix of table seating and couch seating. 7. Walking distance from my house. This is an unfair criteria, but Cafe Javasti qualifies, so bonus points.

    (5)
  • M D.

Overall really nice people that usually cashier and serve you. I show up a little bit before they close and they won't make me 2 crepes. Closing at 6 often times means you typically take orders until 6. You may reconsider your closing expectation, especially since there were still people eating.

A lovely hidden gem. Cafe Javasti has grown over the years due to their dedication to good coffee, freshly baked, delicious pastries and customer service that is genuine. The owners of Javasti want to create a community and a place where people can feel satisfied with the product as well as welcome. I think they succeed.

  • Zanne R.

Great cafe! Plenty of space without feeling cavernous. Mod, cozy decor and feeling. Most excellent savory crepes (the only kind I've tried, but I can't imagine that the sweet crepes would be any less tasty). I actually haven't had coffee here, just soy chais, but all have been well prepared and are not overly sweet. I've come here a couple times in the last few weeks to have a bite and work and it's been great. Admittedly, as Junko S. mentions, it can get very crowded. Coming in as early as I have been, I always get a table near an outlet. Note, the wi-fi connectivity can be slowly and sometimes iffy. I can also imagine this would be a great place for small knitting groups to meet up. A really lovely neighborhood place.

  • Kalani F.

This place is a-ok. Friendly baristas, fast on the uptake. I had some coffee here late in the day and it was fresh and tasty. Nice atmosphere, lots of tables. I can't wait to go back for a crepe. I only wish they had a crepe happy hour...

    (3)
  • Liv L.

The counter staff is not always friendly (I always say hi, please & thanks during the transaction), it's knd of hit or miss. Sometimes I don't even get a hello, nor a thank you (!), AND I tip well! Delicious coffee, even more delicious pastries. Seriously, the scones are that good. I've worked service jobs, and even though I was not typically a bucket of sunshine - I always thanked the customer - I think it's important.

    (4)
  • Gee B.

Used to be a big fan, and a regular but no more. The food is fine, crepes are good, coffee is good (not great). The service ruins the experience. The baristas spend so much time chatting with each other or the customers that the line backs up and you end up spending way too much time hearing about their weekends rather than hearing that your coffee is ready. If you can chat and work at the same time, then chat away. But these employees can't do both, consequently, you'll suffer through far too long a wait to get what is then a fair cup of coffee.

Great place to meet a friend for coffee and light, leisurely breakfast. Delicious savory crêpe. Love the goat cheese.

Recently, while strolling through the Wedgewood neighborhood, I discovered Cafe Javasti. Its menu includes pastries and coffee, but they primarily serve crepes. Each of the sweet and savory options is quickly and tasty. Located on a busy street, this tiny cafe has a very laidback vibe. If evidenced by the patrons there when I visited, it is quite popular with neighborhood families. It is a nice place to relax, study or meet friends.

Incredible place.. I love me some crepes and coffee. Great quality and local ingredients, seasonal specials (gingerbread!) reasonable prices and great atmosphere too : )Can't believe I've lived a mile away for 3 years and hadn't been here

    (5)
  • Amy S.

It's so much better since they expanded. However, if you have more than two people, be prepared to get assertive in grabbing a table. I agree with another reviews that the counter staff is a bit snotty but the coffee and crepes are good enough that I just ignore the attitude and enjoy the other stuff.

    (4)
  • Hilarie L.

This place makes crepes like we bought form the street carts in Paris, simple fresh ingredients, never been disappointed there. I just can't figure out why they never come up when searching Crepes in Seattle?

    (5)
  • Sarah B.

Beloved neighborhood coffee joint. Everything is good: the coffee (Batdorf & Bronson), the pastries (baked on site), the crepes (love the savory crepes, espcially the bacon/egg/cheese crepe). Staff is friendly and helpful. The icing on the cake is the remodel they did a year or two ago and doubled their size. The space is finally what it is meant to be: a neighborhood hangout and easy cup of coffee. I moved out of the 'hood over a year ago but still swing by every now and then to soak it all up.

Small, good food, good drinks excellent coffee, good customer service. Usually crowded, sometimes with kids under 6 yrs old--mostly well behaved! There is always parking nearby somewhere. There are only 2 crepe "grills" so your order may take awhile. Nice place to hang with a friend or be alone too. It's not a place I would go to everyday, but it is consistent when I drop in every 4 months or so. The crepes are REALLY good and I've had just about every one on the menu. The pastries are also very good. If you go, you won't be disappointed. Uh, the other reviewer who was upset at the tables? Mine was OK.

  • Elizabeth L.

Charming spot in Wedgewood! The space inside is sizable and they have a few tables outside, facing the busy street. My Café Au Lait was very good, as was my bluberry bread. I went in on a Saturday morning around 9am and the place was already bustling (there were still tables available, though). It remained consistently busy until I left, around 10:30am. The drinks and food other patrons ordered seemed delicious as well - I'll certainly consider this place the next time I'm looking to steal away in a coffee shop for a few hours.

  • Christie R.

Finally, a good cup of espresso near Ravenna! There are lots of coffee shops in the area with nice ambiance or good food, but too few with excellent espresso drinks. I only have a sample size of one, but I was pleased enough with my americano to write a review.

  • Mishel F.

Love Javasti - cute local coffee shop in the Maple Leaf district. This is one of my go-to spots as they have perfectly roasted beans, knowledgable baristas with no attitude and THE best buckwheat crepes with butter & lingonberry - healthier and tastier than the regular white flour ones. Easy spot to work w/ fast, free wi-fi.

    (5)
  • Dina M.

Free wifi. Divine crepes--they even make buckwheat taste good. Friendly service; they were nice even though I was a bit of an assclown and changed my order. Tasty coffee. Their mochas are more bittersweet than I'm used to.

Best coffee in Seattle. I drop by whenever I'm on that side of the lake.

  • Angie K.

We've lived across the street from Cafe Javasti for almost a year now, and just wanted to update my review to say it is consistently really good coffee, the pastries are REALLY yummy, and the service is always friendly. It's become a great go-to place for us.

  • C M.

I recently moved to the neighborhood and Cafe Vita in Seward Park was my usual stop on the way to work. Imagine my delight when I walked into Cafe Javasti for the first time and discovered they brew my favorite coffee - Batdorf Bronson! I used to run a little espresso stand years ago and we served this brand and I've had a loyalty to it ever since. It's a local roaster out of Olympia and the the hint of caramel and spices in the Dancing Goats blend is unrivaled. The morning rush makes their service a bit slow when I'm in a hurry to get to work but I'm all grins when I walk out with my latte!

    (4)
  • Rachel M.

Love this place. Right around the corner from my house. Really good coffee (though the barista turn-around is high, so sometimes issues with consistency), great food, good ambiance. Nice outdoor seating, and a rotation of local art on the walls ranging from awesome to terrible. They also have a refillable card system that is great.

    (5)
  • Junko S.

I would give Cafe Javasti 5 stars because of the food and drinks, but I'm giving it a 4 only because there's never any place to sit - it's always busy (which is good for them) and the place itself is teeny tiny. If you decide to visit on a weekend, make sure to go early to beat the crowd. They serve various pastry items, but they're known for their crepes - both savory and sweet. And they also have great coffee. Overall, a great Wedgwood coffee joint.

    (4)
  • S. J.

The coffee is good too, but the five-star rating is for the scones. I am a scone junkie, and I have tried scones all over the place. In my totally unbiased opinion, this place has The. Best. Scones. Not too sweet, flaky, and the butter is not overpowering. Heck, I'm not even really supposed to have dairy, but I make an exception for scones and Parfait's ice cream. The scone flavors change daily, and they are All. Good.

  • David P.

Learn to cook quiche. Ugly, bad decor, & please make the crepes go away.

    (1)
  • Dan L.

I may be done with Javasti. I have gone here many times since my initial review and I am quite sick of the menu. I like the savory crepes and there really isn't much to choose from. They are happy to add mushrooms to the #8 for me which adds a little diversity but I would like a few more options. Maybe some with egg? Or sausage? BACON!? The special rarely has meat in it, at least when I go, so I never get it. During my last trip the woman behind the counter was very rude to the gentleman taking my order. I believe he was training. He did make a few mistakes, but nothing enough for her to treat him like dirt. Also, your tables fucking always wobble. That's lame. Fix that shit pronto, it's not that hard to do.

  • Linda K.

This place doubled it's size and seating area several years ago, and since has become a very pleasant place for families, friends meeting to chat, and people wanting to work on their laptop. The espresso drinks are great! This place has a small refrigerated case with salads, sandwiches, juices, etc. A great feature found in no other coffee house that I've visited is the made-to-order crepes. There are plastic reloadable coffee cards. There are coupons for this place often in the Valpak.

  • Munya S.

I checked out this place recently and overall it was a nice experience. I liked that there was street parking right out front, and if you couldn't find a spot there, there are lots of empty side streets in Wedgwood. The service was nice and friendly and the crepe was delicious, but the atmosphere was a definite let-down. First of all, this place was packed on a weekday morning with people nursing what I'm sure was cold coffee, so they could hog their tables all day while they type at their laptops. For a cute neighborhood place, I was hoping it would be more of a social gathering rather than a study place. Also, the floor is cement and the ceilings are ugly- I'm not sure if they are going for a warehouse vibe or what but it wasn't working. I would come back for a yummy crepe, but for now I'm still on the search for the perfect neighborhood coffee shop!

  • Alex T.

My friend ordered a tomato, pesto crepe, something like that. Took forever for it to come out, and I didn't have a bite, but he said it was delicious! I got an americano, and a iced vanilla latte for the girl. Both were absolutely delicious. I'm a big fan now.

  • Glen J.

On my way to the bank I quickly stopped by the Cafe Javasti in Wedgwood. It's really dark in there, and a total tight fit, but to make up for that they have really good coffee, and they also make sandwiches, and from what I could see they served breakfast items. I didn't have time to sit in the cafe to get the full experience of it, but I could tell that its a pretty, decent hole-in-the-wall coffee place. I also liked the T-Shirts that they were selling with the Cafe Javasti logo on the front, and the coffee mugs they were selling looked really smart, and practical. I'm going to have go back there and purchase one.

I really used to like this place, they make awesome crepes and the coffee is pretty good... BUT the workers are so busy socializing with each other that they have messed up order on a few occasions, I also hate that they don't have sleeves for the coffee, charge me an extra 15 cents. I'm sick of burning my hand. The other day I went there before work and got a sandwich to take for lunch, I asked for the turkey and bacon one, the girl was so busy talking to the other workers that she gave me the wrong sandwich. I'm usually not to picky but when I unwrapped my sandwich at lunch to find a salami and green olive concoction I was really disappointed. I ended up trading a coworker for their leftover lasagna. A few days later I went back for some coffee and mentioned it to the girl, her reply was "haha, oh noooo"... no refund or offer of something else. I go there a few times a week its not like Im some random person trying to rip them off... I think I might start walking the extra 10 blocks Cloud City Coffee, sorry Javasti maybe you should work on your customer service.

I highly recommend the chicken/mozzarella/pesto/tomato crepe - the chicken is tender (high quality white meat... I detest places that use fatty, nasty meat!) and it's just the perfect combination of flavors. And you pretty much can't go wrong with any of their sweet crepes. Almost all their staff members (maybe except for 1 person I've ever ordered from) are fantastic and very flexible/accommodating to children - they are very understanding/quick when it comes to spills etc. Great family place. I love how there are almost always dogs "parked" outside this cafe - lots of neighbors walking here to hang out. Yes, it's frequently packed (which is a good sign) but if you don't like to wait, order to go or come during off hours (late in the day seems to be a good time - place was nearly empty the last couple times I went around 5pm).

    (5)
  • Kelly D.

Crepes! Crepes! Crepes! The crepes take a long time to make so if you have anyone in line in front of you be prepared to wait- but they're worth it. In my non-veg days I used to get their chicken-pesto-tomato crepe which was really good- not very filling though so be prepared to get a dessert crepe or coffee to help fill you. I liked their basic cinnamon and sugar crepe for dessert

Great Crepes and Coffee (Bronson and Bartoff), love going there. You have to time it right if you don't want it too loud, sometimes a lot of strollers show up

  • Kathleen H.

Wow, what a great crepe! I had the savory spinach and goat cheese, and added mushrooms to the mix. It was absolutely delicious- just enough for lunch but not heavy at all. Casual cafe atmosphere and good coffee too. I'll have to go back and try a sweet one next time.

Very simliar to the Maple Leaf location. Nice local coffee house, good coffee, yummy crepes and a friendly staff. Free wireless and next door to a laundromat. Perfect.

  • Simon T.

The crepes are top notch, although they are a bit slow. The drinks are also excellent. I recommend the Sun Soother for any warm day. The Wedgwood location of Javasti is in a convenient spot for me, but oftentimes the shop will be overrun with small children and their parents. If you do not like children, I suggest going to the Javasti on 5th instead.

The Coffee here was average for Wedgwood (which translates to a really good Latte, but not in the top three for the neighborhood). The Crepes were average, period. We tried one Savory and one Sweet crepe and they were good; But I would rather save my money and make my own next time. The selection of crepes was limited. Conclusion: Decent neighborhood cafe, ideal place to wait for laundry next door. Good ambiance and customer service. Three stars because of value for money, although they do have coupons floating around the neighborhood. I would only stop again if I were in the area.

Great local coffee place with super pastries and crepes. Their coffee is consistently good and every pastry I have tried is yummy. The staff are also very friendly. Love this place.

The "good coffee" comments are baffling. I actually just signed up for Yelp so I could write a review for this place, as I just had the single worst latte I've had in 10 years of living in Seattle. My "latte" was barely lukewarm milk with a weak coffee flavor. By the time I realized how awful it was, I was too far down the road to turn around. What a waste of money.

    (1)
  • Sinourn S.

I tried # 1, 8, and 9..and let me tell you...MOST AMAZING CREPES I HAVE EVER HAD...in the states, mind you. Super delicious and the portions were well worth the money...and then some. A diamond in the rough!

  • Sara K.

The coffee and food here are delicious. I just moved across the street and it makes me so happy to see an independent small coffee business be so busy. The coffee here is strong and the prices are comparable to Starbucks. We had crepes for brunch a couple of weekends ago and they used great ingredients and were surprisingly filling. On the weekends, they are really busy so you may not find a table. Their sandwiches are also really good, but I think they take longer than most places to grill, they can probably increase the temperature on the griddler. We have also tried their chocolate chip cookies and rice krispie treats. Cookies were moist and harder around the edges, and the rice krispie treats had the right ration of marshmallow and krispies. When I have gotten coffee later in the day, their chocolate chip cookies are always gone, which shows how good they are.

Yum!!!!!! I had the strawberry and vanilla cream crepe with a nonfat caramel latte. I ate/drank every last bite/drop. It made me very happy :) I went with my boyfriend on a late Sunday morning. It was crazy busy when we first got there. By the time we ordered, a table opened up and we were good to go. I remember liking the music that was playing. The atmosphere was laid back. Location is nice; if you get a seat by the front window or eat outside, you have a view of a pretty part of 35th. It was nice to see the leaves falling. Can't wait to go back.

Cafe Javasti is my go-to neighborhood coffee shop. It would definitely get five stars for everything except more often than not it's slow as molasses to get a crepe in the joint. Even with the languid attitude of the baristas, I still am drawn back. Oh chicken, pesto and tomato crepe, you are so delicious. Also, the sweet selections are just as yummy. As for the coffee, I'm equally as impressed. It's one of the few shops in Seattle where I can get cold drip. Before you coffee snobs turn up your nose at the thought of iced drip, let me tell it's ten times better than any iced latte you have had. If done correctly, like most cafes in New Orleans, it's perfection in a cold cup. The seating is small and most often full. Javasti is a family magnet. So go at off times or, like me, dash in hungover, order everything to go and get home.

A few things are promised when visiting this place. Great coffee. Beautiful crepes. Delicious crepes. Lots of people. I grabbed breakfast here with some friends and having never been, it was a very pleasant surprise. I ordered a latte and it was delicious, took a sip of my friend's vanilla latte and was equally impressed. I decided to stay on the safe (and perhaps healthy) side of things and opted for the oatmeal, leaving the crepes to my friends. The oatmeal was fine and they offered an assortment of toppings which was nice. But let's get to the good stuff. The crepes. The presentation was great, and I was not shy about stealing bites of the strawberry, vanilla creme and whipped creme crepes my friends ordered. So good! It was morning so it was pretty busy, but I am sure it would be a great place to kick back in the evening. And while looking out onto busy 35th might not be the greatest of views, it was still a very pleasant experience. I will definitely be back.

Oh wow.... I was so excited to be puttering around on 35th St., looking for a place to eat lunch, when I found this little place. Perhaps because I was hungry, or it could be the low-carb kick I'm on, but the SMELL of sugar and pastries was soooooo blissful when I walked in. Din was a bit loud.... a rug or two could have helped. ... tables and chairs moved around and not many good places to sit.... BUT... back to the scent..... Wow. And even double-wow that their Chicken/Pesto/Tomato/Mozzarella Crepe is fairly low-carb, such as things go, and the (lemme see if I can finally get this all) iced-non-fat-sugar-free-hazelnut-latte was to DIE FOR. All for less than $10 and neurotically low-carb, except for the couple of tsp. of flour in the crepes and the handful that the dear cow contributed to the skim milk. I will sooooo be coming back here in between jaunts to grocery, bank, and pharmacy. Love it.

Teeny, tiny place with fantastic crepes and a dang good latte. I love their black forest ham crepe when I'm in the mood for something savory. They have, like so many cafes around town, rotating art by local artists which spices up the place. The only downside I've found is that it always feels too warm inside here...probably because it's a small place and the crepe skillets are always blazing-- but still, I've been a bit uncomfortable both times I stayed. Worth it though.

Love this place! Coffee is good, crepes are outstanding and the staff is very welcoming. Going here less often is the only downside to owning my own espresso machine.

I mentioned in a previous review my philosophy of the half full glass of low expectations and warned against blithely discarding that outlook. Apparently, we really do teach best what we need most to learn. I just discovered crepes in my 'hood on a perfect Sunday morning and I'm fighting the expectation that all my visits to Cafe Javasti will be just as perfect. After a weekend filled with a passel of teenagers whining "we're hungry" I decided I deserved a break and set out to walk to Cafe Javasti. It's been there for a long time, but I've never visited. I assumed, like any intrepid Yelper, that I'd eventually make it there, but saw no reason to make a special trip. Idiot. Moron. Dumbass. THEY MAKE CREPES. Really good crepes. I had a savory with mushrooms, tomatoes, mozarella and pesto and could not find one thing wrong with it. And, they're large. No small crepe pan for these babies - they're done on a griddle. The zucchini carrot walnut muffin was outstandingly moist and dense and full of flavor, made on the spot, and the soy latte - oh dear coffee gods - it was caffeine nirvana in a cup. The crema had a beautiful design that never went away and remained in the cup until the last drops. The espresso was smooth and rich. It's small but warm on the inside and full of people, but I sat outside on the sidewalk, basking in the sunshine, reading a book, watching cars and people and dogs stroll by on a typically sleepy Wedgwood morning. Do you blame me for considering revision of my philosophy?

I frequent both Javasti locations. The service is always prompt and friendly. Pastries are generally yummy, as are the crepes (even though I do generally prefer more butter on/in my crepes). Coffee is smooth and flavorful, especially the Omar's blend. My only gripe is with some of the clientele, especially with the runner/jogger group that spends a few bucks and then proceeds to move furniture around so that their entire group can hang out and gab. If you're one of these people - you need to grow some consideration! 5 Stars - I love eating there.

Like others have written, it gets VERY busy on the weekends for a breakfast or early lunch. The crepes are about $6.25-$7ish. I have not tried their sweet crepes since I am trying to cut down on sweet things. I had the chicken, pesto and tomato crepe-it took awhile for them to make(which is usual for something warm and fresh right??) so order coffee or an espresso drink first. It was served hot to my little table. It is on my way to the bank, so a nice treat! I would not give them all 5 stars because sometimes the staff is a little unfriendly. I told the guy that the trash was overflowing and he could have cared less if the roof caved in. OMG.

Met up with a new friend here for a morning chat and coffee. We got a sunny seat by the window and were lucky to get our drinks before a rush came in (about 10AM). I liked the dog walkers who were attracted to the place - as I love to dog watch. Comfortable ambiance, controlled noise with good music. Crepes looked tantillizing. Coffee was smooth with good presentation. Wonderful art.

I get in here now and then and it's always a good experience. The coffee is excellent and since I'm that much into crepes, coffee is usually all I have. However, overall, it's a nice local place.

I freaking love this place! I started going here when I moved to the neighborhood about a year ago. They have the best coffee. I love that they used Batdorf beans since I always go to their Olympia coffee shop when I am down south. Much better than charbucks. The staff are super nice but when it's busy things tend to get a bit slow since there's rarely more than 3 people working at any one time. All of their baked goods are home-made and I love them all esp. the cinnimon roll scone.

The best coffee shops in Maple Leaf and Wedgwood! My wife and I used to frequent the Maple Leaf location on 5th Ave. Now, we go to the second location in Wedgwood at 8617 35th NE since it's a little closer. Scott and Anne Marie serve up rich Batdorf & Bronson coffee in this pleasing neighborhood shop. The quality of coffee is worlds apart from Starbucks' mass-market approach. It's that attention to detail, and the friendly staff, that keeps us coming in several times a week. Thanks guys!

Great coffee and the best marionberry scones on the planet! Now that they've expanded into the space next door there's a lot more room. But it's still super-noisy and loud with the concrete floors and wooden chairs scraping. Looking forward to when they make the space a little warmer.

I found Javasti in Maple Leaf when I was on maternity leave with my son. I planned my second pregnancy around the opening of the Wedgwood shop :-). I have tried the crepes, the combinations look great on the menu, look wonderful being made but somehow they just don't seem to translate to great when eating them. The baking is fantastic. I have never been disapointed by any item. They are fresh, beautiful and creative. I love taking my kids hot chocolate and treat. Very kid friendly. Hot chocolate comes with whip and mini marshmellows. Also a great selection of Italian sodas. OK - so heart of the matter. I love, love, love the cofee. The lattes are perfection. The foam is as good as Uptown. The coffee has a rich, nutty chocolat flavor. I like to purchase the Omar's blend. Oh, and did I mention it's all fair trade coffee? Lastly, the service is wonderful. The staff is friendly and efficient.

real nice and simple. the way it should be. the crepe. the strawberry. the creme. the powered sugar. all there. perfect bit sized pieced. quickly served. filling the whole plate. decently priced (~6 USDs). coupon in the monthly mailer alerted me of the existance. looking for great clips to reduce hair length. instead found "dollar off-a crepe" really near my first errand of the day (post office - turns out it shoulda been UPS - my mistake :P). stop in on a saturday about 1 pm. one fellow working on his lappie. nice, clean, small joint. cheerful waitstaff. order my crepe and have a seat. within 3 mins i have a full-sized plate in front of me. filled to the brim with a hot crepe. fairly thin but just what you'd expect. light and fluffy but enough bite to please the palate. inside were a plethora of sliced strawberries. and vanilla cream (similar to a custard - but not as sweet - and it shouldn't be). outside was covered in powered sugar. just enough sweet and substance from the crepe to make for a perfect brunch snack. every bite was fantastic, chewy, lightly sugar, fruity, satisfying. next time - would like to try the savory crepe filled with avacado, bacon - lost track of the rest of the fillings after those two... definitely will be back. if the savory is as good as this one - javasti will get a 5th star.

Recently moved to Wedgwood and have been doing the coffee-shop circuit to find my favorite study-spot in the area - recently I went to Javasti and I think my search is over! Javasti fulfilled all of my requirements for a coffee shop, including: 1. Well-made drinks and delicious food - I had a chai which was perfectly prepared and not too sweet, just like I like it. Also my strawberries-and-whipped-crepe was to die for. 2. Friendly service - I've been to Grateful Bread down the street a few times, but their employees are so obnoxious and/or oblivious to customers that I can't stand it. Everyone at Javasti was friendly, helpful and knew what they were doing. 3. It's nice and warm inside - isn't the point of a coffee shop to be cozy? Can't study if I'm shivering. 4. Finally and most importantly, Javasti has the requisite cute grad students trickling in periodically so there's something to look at when you get bored with your textbook. All in all, very happy with this little place and will definitely be back.

The future Mrs. Hughes took me over to this little shop on a Saturday morning. I really wanted to give it 5 stars after I saw them replace a father's crepe and coffee. His toddler kicked it off the table. They were really cool about that. But the food is... meh. 611 Supreme has better crepes. I'd be happy to go back anytime for a crepe and coffee though. The carrot cake looked divine. The coffee is pretty and above average. I didn't care much for the general ambiance. There's a distracting din that could be eliminated with a few carpets or something more on the walls. There is not enough seating either and they had people in there parked laptops on tables for a long time (I'm sure they were yelping). Kind of rude during a rush if you ask me.

Cafe Javasti is the perfect neighborhood hangout for adults (and children). We love both locations, though the Wedgwood one is closer to our home. Cafe Javasti makes amazing crepes. My wife and daughter prefer the strawberry and whipped creme crepe, while I prefer either the banana and nutella (sweet) or the pesto and mushroom (savory) crepes. The pastries can be hit or miss, but I highly recommend the coffee cake (one of the best I've found in the city). Coffees are excellent, the staff are friendly and welcoming. And both locations are filled with regulars who greet each other, and are magnets for families with young children on weekends. While I highly recommend both locations, the Wedgwood cafe is a bit too warm throughout the day, and especially on sunny mornings.

Good coffee and great people. Bagels and cookies are always delicious and they make great americano! No push button baristas here. Fresh ground espresso shots timed to perfection and foam art to boot!

i crave this coffee...you can always be certain your drink is correct, consistent and fabulous. i was a barista for quite a few years, so i'm very particular about how my drink is made...i've been going here for 4 years and every time they get it right: the milk is always steamed perfectly; i get the right amount of flavor; and, most importantly, my shots are never burnt. they also have a great selection of flavors, so you can get creative with your drink...the staff is always friendly and helpful if you need a recommendation! in addition to coffee, they have a great variety of crepes which are amazing, and an awesome selection of baked goods. plus, they do the coffee punch cards so you eventually earn a free one! thanks, scott and ryan...cafe javasti is the best!
