The food is really cool: tex-mex and margaritas is hard to beat. However, the service is awful. It's like the owner has a meeting with the employees every day: "You get $5 extra every time you can serve someone w/out talking. If I see you smile, you're fired. Is everyone wearing their Urban Outfitters uniform? Great! Let's create an atmosphere!" Sorry, that was spiteful...but deserved. If you do eat there. See if you can make them talk. It's really a challenge.

Bimbo's never dissapoints.Their infant-size burritos are out of this world! Definitely a plus having cha-cha downstairs, the drinks at their bar are always really strong. One of the best happy hours on the hill.

Seriously. This place is absolutely not about service, nor is it about high-quality food, nor is it about impressing you with its attitude and Capitol-Hillness. The place is about fatass burritos that quelch that grumbling rumble in your belly. They're nothing exceptional, but since when has a burrito knocked your socks off? What I do appreciate about this place: one time I was walking up Pine from downtown and felt a ridiculously death-threatening urge to use the bathroom. I looked around frantically, and there was good ol' Bimbo's. She welcomed me with open arms. No questions asked as I beelined to the bathroom (watch the slightly raised toilet fixture and the 2-inch gap at the bottom of the door, though). I give the Burrito Kitchen a bitchin 4 stars for that alone.

I hit Bimbo's whenever I'm Seattle and honestly I don't think I've ever had a bad time there. Mexican food and a cool atmosphere, open late, right smack dab in the middle of capital hill - how can you go wrong? One night we were eating at Bimbo's, super drunk as usual, and I stuck my business card under one of the glass tabletops. About three months later, it's night time and I'm on this remote beach way down in Baja, way out in the middle of nowhere. Somehow my cell phone got a signal and it started ringing - when I picked up it was some drunk chick sitting at that table at Bimbo's telling me that I didn't know her but she loved me. That's the kind of place it is. Bimbos - keep on making me high!

Ok so I have absolutely no idea what the upstairs is like, but holy shit, downstairs was creepy/awesome. Attention non-hipster people such as myself: probably won't be comfortable here. I consider myself totally not cool enough to hang out at hipster places such as the Cha Cha Lounge, but I said fuck it and BRAVED IT today with my equally non-hipster boyfriend. I'm so glad I did, though. I never went to this place before, we walked downstairs and at first I felt like I was walking into a fun house. Then the red lights set in. Followed by what I thought was Isis? or Earth Crisis? Or Sunn O))) ??? I have no clue. I am probably wrong on all of those, but the bartender looked like he was trying to read into my soul as we sat down in a corner table away from absolutely everything, but now that I look back on it maybe I was just staring at him trying to get my eyes to adjust to the dark lighting. I had to use my phone to light up the menu enough to read wtf was on it, but, again - totally worth it. Food was great, they had an awesome beer selection and the atmosphere alone was worth the trip. I have no clue what the restaurant is like, all I know is that I felt like I slipped into Hell for an hour and it was seriously so much fun. Just ... don't mind the pool of hipsters at the entrance you have to wade through in order to get there.

The only thing more disgusting than the food at this place is the fat beast named Victoria Liss who works there. Even if this place had edible food, I'd have no appetite after watching her three chins jiggle about. Avoid like the plague!

  • Strand M.

The food is consistently good, and the service, while minimal, is quick.

where else can you get a burrito stuffed with herb-roasted chicken AND garlic roasted potatoes?? i love potatoes....and i like burritos, so why not eat them together? pretty cool - that's all i have to say.

ummmmm Bimbos! Great food, fun atmosphere, great drinks.. it's all goood

  • Bryan B.

I thought the decor in Bimbo's was great and the "Down Home Burrito" was awesome. Definitely enjoyed the potatoes in the burrito; maybe that's the fact that I'm Irish :) We all decided to go there following a happy hour adventure and it was great to get some food so the recovery the next day was a lot easier :) All in all a nice place to grab a burrito on a night out....probably too messy of a meal for a first date though ;).

    (4)
  • Jeff G.

This place is just annoying. Irritating service, seriously way too much attitude, mediocre Sangria and big but not especially good burritos. And seriously, do they really need to be dragging the smelly disgusting trash through the dining room during peak dinner hours?

    (1)
  • Alex S.

The food is edible and might not make you sick! On the other hand, the booze is excellent and generally safe for consumption.

  • Nina N.

Love love love love it here!!!!! from their sour cream to their home made gauc! hahahhah it is amazing.... it isn't the name that got me to come here.. it's their burritos that are so filling, and their chicken quesadillas!!!!! their drinks aren't that bad either...... how can you really go wrong with a 1.50 pbr ( classy lol ) or a grey goose soda that makes your mouth go ow chi wa wa... hahahhhahha hahha..but seriously kids... it is a fun place to be at... you don't have to dress up to go eat here.. I think i've been here numerous times in some sweats and a hoody.. who cares is all I can say.....however, the downside of it all is the limited amount of seating area... :( boo to that!!!!! and if you really want to try to get some freaking service you're freaking screwed!!!!!!!! so when you get anyone's attention go and order everything, drinks, food, and maybe even your check if they can grab that for you too! hhahahhahahha......

  • C P.

A friend and I went there earlier today for lunch. Meh is the right word for it - the comatose waitress and bland burritos stole away the style points that initiated my interested in trying out this ideally located joint. Will probably go back for beers, chips & salsa, and a cheese quesadilla (can you mess up a quesadilla? I hope not).

  • Charley B.

I've been here four, maybe five different times, each time as good, if not better than the last. They have everything a burrito place needs upstairs. Light weight beers on tap , Tecate, and spicy burritos. Is there a better combo? As well as a fine selection of spicy sauces on the table. They also have better beers on tap and a decent tequila and whiskey selection. There staff is perfect, meaning they don't try to talk to you if you don't want. They get you a drink . Then they bring a hot huge burrito. There isn't any up-selling, or other unnecessary chivalry that can make dining elsewhere a hassle. The Cha Cha Lounge is dimly light red, lots of people and lots of bottle caps on the walls. Great spot to take a visitor to Seattle. Upstairs or downstairs they're both more than worth the minimal price paid.

    (4)
  • Philip L.

Had a couple OK burritos here. Fills you up and you can put hot sauce on them.

I give good old Bimbo's three stars -- and they are all for the food, because the service sucks. If you want attitude from people who feel superior because they are in their late 20s-early 30s or older and are working in a glorified Mexican restaurant that happens to have full-of-shit-hipsters with delusions of grandeur slobbing drinks down their coke-snot-encrusted throats, this is the place. I usually get everything to go, and then only have to deal minimally with the "ironic", ugly "fashion", and the bored, glassy-eyed expressions of the servers.

    (3)
  • Lily K.

it's a fun place and reasonably priced, but is totally hipster and the wait staff isn't the friendliest. please check out my food blog for a full review with photos!

    (3)
  • Sambucus R.

Just a quick addendum: The last 3 times I've gone, the service has been actually really friendly and nice. It's a welcome surprise and now I want a burrito dang.

    (4)
  • M R.

Vegan-friendly!!! One thing I really like about this place is that you can order something vegan without having to explain what exactly that means or without having to worry that they might make a mistake. I always order the vegan version of the No Meato Burrito and it is always good. Their burritos are uniquely satisfying as they put black olives and toasted sunflower seeds in it alongside the usual rice, beans, guac, etc. Plus they also use some organic ingredients. Good music, decor and beer selection as well. As far as the hipness attitude of the staff, I always worry a little about what kind of service I will get, but usually everything turns out satisfyingly enough. Still, the sometimes cold hipster vibe makes me rate this 4 stars instead of 5.

very random place, only go here when friends are meeting up but have never felt good leaving this place.. try poquitos or chukis tacos if your looking for mexican fare even rancho bravo is a better choice..

  • neil o.

i liked this place better before it moved. when i went back, it took forever to get our burritos and when they showed up, they were cold. COLD!

  • M T.

The only thing good about this place is the decor.

    (1)
  • april d.

Well, if you can get past the snarky counter staff, you will find yourself with a taco, burrito whatever, of dubious quality. It's edible but you know, whatever. The bitchin' in the name is not in reference to the food as tasty, it's in reference to the staff as bitchy. There are better places to eat within a stones throw from here, I love Bill's off Broadway or Hot Moma's.

    (2)
  • Ireina B.

i've eaten here a number of times and never been impressed. there used to be a guy that worked at the old location who constantly the rudest son of a B@#*%. He overcharged me several times, the ceiling above us was leaking and he didn't offer to move us. We had to move on our own. The last times I've been there (new location) there has been a nice asian waitress. Though I got overcharged AGAIN for a drink. It was a great drink but not 8 dollars great! Burritos are so-so but the nachos are pretty good.

    (2)
  • Geoff N.

If anyone has seen Bimbo's bitchin', it lost it during the move and would like it back. While the new decor features some lovely images of luchadors and velvet paintings of bullfighters, the burritos have gone from... well... bitchin' to stringy, poorly-wrapped sacks of stuff that make Taco Del Mar actually sound appealing. So, if you see Bimbo's bitchin' please do the honorable thing and return it, so we can all share tasty burritos again.

    (2)
  • Brenna F.

These are not authentic burritos, but rather burritos that were prepared by hipsters, imitating Baja, imitating Mexican. All this, and no hot salsa. Lame.

  • didi b.

Oh new Bimbos, your ceilings just got higher and bonus new Mexican wrestling motif! way hawt.

    (4)
  • Aaron M.

I came here once that was all I needed. Nothing special about the burritos and I feel duped by the flashy pink exterior thinking it was going to be unique and interesting. Only to find that I could get a similar burrito at a grocery store. Congrats you stole my money but my heart you will never have.

  • Nick B.

No meat-0 burrito & pitcher of Ranier please! numnumnmnumnumm

  • David W.

I miss the old location, but still love the food. I am really frightened of what has moved into the old location, as it makes the Eagle look like Disneyland on a bright sunny day. Anyway, Bimbo's Burritos are even bigger than Taco Del Mar's and have even more interesting ingredients. I have yet to be able to pick these mothers up and eat them with my hands properly.....better to be done with knife and fork. I agree it is better to come at lunch over dinner, as the crowds at night can be overwhelming.

    (4)
  • Kerri A.

I love the Day of the Dead decor in this place. If you're all about Cha Cha's down stairs, then you're probably going to consider Bimbo's to go hand in hand....and well as far as I'm concerned they're the same place. Anywho, The chicken burrito, chips, and 2 beer combination didn't cost a fortune as some places can be. If there is one thing Mexican food should not be, that's expensive, and I mean that as a compliment. Chicken was borderline a little too dry but, it worked well with the chunky salsa that accompanied it on top. The seating was slightly uncomfortable as I felt like I was close to hitting feet with the chick in the ninja turtle green beret at the table next to me......that's kind of too close for me when your not sitting at the same table. All together the atmosphere is relaxed( other than worrying about playing footsy), well priced, and fairly clean even though the theme is a rustic Mexican adventure.

  • Julia Z.

Yawn. Stunningly average, this is an amusing place to take out of town friends if you can't think of anything better (but there's no excuse for that when you have the universe of Yelp at your fingertips!) Still, good Mexican food is rare in Seattle, and this is at least passable. The quantity of piercings, and the display of attitude here, can amuse you while you consume the food, which is moderately priced. Thank goodness for the anti-smoking law... the lounge next door used to make it somewhat unbearable in the restaurant, but no problemo these days.

    (3)
  • Greg M.

Boring, bland and poor service. Great place for folk who have no taste buds. As for this lil Latin boy I'll take my arse over to Taco's Guymas for a kick ass burrito and more!

    (1)
  • Pamela L.

As far as fast mexican food goes this place is great. I love burritos with potatos in them, and they have them here! The hot sauce is really hot, beware, even if you like hot food, try it on the side first. They have all of the regular burrito fillings with vegetarian and vegan options. The decor gives you lots to look, and Cha Cha lounge is next door so cocktails are only steps away!

    (4)
  • Mike S.

I love their burritos. They are made of quality organic ingredients, and reasonably priced.

    (4)
  • Alice H.

Yum, I really enjoy this place when I am in the mood for a mission style buritto, I haven't really explored any other type expect for the herbed chicken burrito which is absolutely delicious! I think it's really great, next time I'll have to grab a drink here I know they have happy hour all days on Sunday's!

    (4)
  • Susie Serious E.

Hate it at night. Love it during the day. Yummy tacos. Cranky hipster waiters. Door guy is swell, though.

    (5)
  • Skip B.

There is nothing overwhelming fantastic about Bimbo's, and nothing which makes me not want to go there. I do find the food to be decent, but the staff seems inattentive, although that doesn't prevent me from giving them repeat business.

    (3)
  • Claire T.

The writing on the storefront of Bimbo's Bitchin Burrito Kitchen proclaims that it is the best food in the world. The burritos are pretty good - big, not overpriced, cute servers, etc, but who are we kidding? It's not even the best food on the block.

    (3)
  • Jen A.

Awesome burritos and nachos. Beer. Happy atmosphere. What more do you need?

    (4)
  • Ass Man Z.

This place sucks donkey dick. It was good, a long time ago, but then, so was the Cha Cha. How can you have an attitude when you work in a burrito shop, anyway? Oh! You're in a band? How interesting. Oh yeah, the food sucks here, too.

    (1)
  • Jesse B.

Decent burritos... The burritos here were pretty good, but the meat did not have much flavor. The burrito was poorly rolled and almost easier to eat when opening it up completely. Random toppings in the burritos include sunflower seeds and a few others I can't remember. Someone next to me ordered the nachos and they looked really good, so I will recommend trying those before the burritos. The restaurant was decorated well and the service was ok.

    (3)
  • Dawn A.

Although the burrito my fiance got was satisfying but standard, I loved loved loved my rosemary chicken quesedilla... what great salsa on top! It was a great place to go and get take out on a Sunday afternoon. :)

  • Tazzy M.

if "the stranger" newsrag was a restaurant, it would bimbo's. when you are 23 and dont know jack about jack, you might think that sh@t is clever, but then maybe you turn 28 and you start getting tired of all the hipster hater lingo and...offering a pbr with a crappy burrito?! is that supposed to be funny, or is this just where you are at? you could be offering a decent priced meal, but you give me chips and salsa that are more like a cup of water with some salty corn dust. seriously, i needed a fork just to eat it. and if you dont like sour cream, dont go here because if you ask for stuff without it, you get it with, and then the 'tude is as thick as the sour cream. whats a guy got to do to get a decent $6 burrito is seattle? cry, i guess...

    (1)
  • Alix H.

Mama likes anything bitchin, especially burritos after a night of drinking hearty beers. It's good that it ain't pricey since you probably don't got a lot of loot left after an alcohol rampage. The decor is cheesy fun and the burritos huge. I usually just go with the basic burrito with either tomato or spinach wrap. The garlic roasted potatoes are yummers and much needed starch to help you go for a second round of bar hopping. The service quality varies and it all depends on how high your server is.

    (4)
  • R M.

Order a carafe of sangria. Or six. I love their potato tacos, and appreciate the fact that they have soy cheese available for their nachos- however it's apparently not actually vegan? Nice gesture, but a bit of a miss. I like going here when I'm catching up with friends and don't mind being interrupted and adding extra seats to our table. It's a nice precursor to a night of trouble.

  • Dan S.

What the hell was that?? I went in for a casual beer-and-burrito lunch and wound up confused, with a headache and a mouth full of mashed potatoes. First, let me make it clear that this has nothing to do with the service. Sure, the service sucked, but who cares? It's lunch and my standards are low. Really low. If the food makes it to me within a half an hour and its at least 50% correct, I'm satisfied. In this way, my experience was fine. The troubles came moments after I sat down and realized what was being played over the sound system was unbearably bad. It wasn't music I didn't like - it just wasn't music. It was the sound of some dude grunting into a microphone and messing around with the buttons on a guitar amp. It was AWFUL! It took me a moment to be sure I was hearing what was supposed to be played and not that the speakers had broken. I scanned the room and it was obvious that everyone was offended by the terrible, vibrating sound that went on for over twenty minutes. At one point, a couple left. I didn't say anything because I figured, I'd be a trooper and just wait out the track -- how long could it be? Honestly, most of our meal was destroyed by this bizarre, incredibly loud, nauseating sound. Oh, and the burritos sucked, too. Why are there mashed potatoes in my burrito? I'm not a baby or an old man. I can chew, thank you very much. It was like biting into a Gerber burrito. This was my second visit, the first time being for happy hour. My first trip was just fine. My second trip makes me an official avoider of Bimbo's Bitching Burrito Kitchen. Official.

  • Laura G.

I used to love their burritos. I hadn't been there in two years and just went this evening, only to be let down. I love the atmosphere, nice bar tenders.. but the burritos did not meet my expectations. It was edible, but not what I would call yummy. The chips and salsa leaves much to be desired as well.

    (2)
  • Austin W.

An awesome place to get a large burrito. The fresh burittos are the perfect size for a meal and the supreme is soooo yummy (with sunflower seeds and cumin-lime sourcream). There isn't much spice, but there is sauce on the table to help with that. Just a great place to met up with a friend and chill. (good music and a black light restroom add the the appeal!) Oh and a wonderful place for vegetarians and meat eaters alike.

    (5)
  • Esme W.

You have to try this place, simply to see the hipsters begrudgingly serve your meal (AND it's really fun to say "Bimbo's Bitchin' Burrito Kitchen"). I have never seen such unhappy people...but then again they're working in a shoebox...for pinto beans. But seriously, the burritos are huge and really good, if you're not expecting authentic Mexican food. They don't serve rice either, just potatoes or sunflower seeds...not kidding!

    (3)
  • Michael A.

Not sure what sucks more.. the person makin' your burrito or the burrito itself. Won't be getting another one so I guess we'll never know...

    (1)
  • A. B.

bimbos has made me sick. it has made my friends sick. so we don't eat here anymore. but the margaritas are good, and it's a very nice place when mr. sugar is behind the bar. so saddle on up and have a drink!

    (3)
  • Chani B.

Bimbos isnt for everyone, yet if youre in Capital Hill check it out if not for the really cool decor. Think Jesus on acid. The food is pretty good, parking bad ( thats just a consant complaint in Seattle) It used to be a clothing store back in the day.

    (2)
  • Kristin S.

It seems like you could make these at home. But if you are lazy like me you probably won't. Think Chiptole non-commercial hipster version. This place is alright if you dig the environment. I do like a good ridiculously large burrito every now and then.

    (3)
  • katie j.

I really hate sunflower seeds in Mexican food. It is just plain gross and that is my main complaint against this place. Expect a heapin' spoonful of Seattle's I-am-a-hipster-with-low-self-esteem attitude and sometimes slow service. But it's okay because you are probably drunk when you come here anyway.

    (3)
  • McLain K.

The burritos are average at best. If you want to try something different in your tortilla this place offers some weird shit I've never come across, ie sunflower seeds. All in all it was kinda overly mushy and by the time I added some basic ingredients that where labeled as extras my burrito was over priced and preformed poorly.

    (3)
  • Kevin D.

Mexican food cooked and served by hipsters with "hot tamale" attitudes. The food is fairly good. Not truly authentic but good.

    (2)
  • lara b.

Bimbo's vegetarian nachos are insanely delicious. My boyfriend and i go there routinely, and for a while would get a plate of the nachos and something else to split. Eventually though, after awkward jealous stares at the nachos, we gave up, and now just order two plates of the things. The sour cream has cilantro or cumin in it, which is a nice flair. it is a good vegetarian spot, and vegans will make their way here passably. i love the decor, and i find it low key and cool. I'm hoping the impending move up the street won't change it too much.

    (5)
  • C. C.

Well, I like the burritos, but I've had better. It's open super late and connected to the amazing Cha Cha lounge, so wins big points for that. Servers are too cool for skool.

    (3)
  • gina e.

i love the vegetarian nachos & the set up is cute. the staff aren't insanely friendly but that is not something that bothers me, though other people are bothered by it, apparently. not the best mexican food ever but it does the job & you can order drinks from the adjoining bar.

    (3)
  • L S.

I keep going here because my fiance enjoys the food. It's ok, I mean it's edible and affordable, but seriously, I make way better tacos and burritos at home for less and minimal prep time, and I even have leftovers! Sure, I was served my food here in a reasonable amount of time, but how long can it really take to put a wee bit of meat in my tacos, a wee bit of cheese, a dollop of salsa and shitload of lettuce? Seriously. I ordered two tacos, one with herb roasted chicken and the other with peppered shredded beef. Like I said, the tacos were decent, but once I picked off most of the lettuce (I'm not really supposed to be eating any kind of raw veggies or fruit, doctors orders, and I don't really like lettuce because I'm weird) I had two small tacos for $2.75 each. We were there during happy hour, but I didn't want a cocktail and the only beer they have on HH special is friggin Rainier. WTF? Yeah, I'll stick with my lukewarm water with no ice, thanks. My fiance even commented on the excess amount of lettuce on his Burrito Inferno (spanish rice, organic beans, jack cheese, salsa, LETTUCE, jalapenos, guacamole with hot sauce). This place claims to be healthy, which I guess if you have an excessive amount of lettuce in every meal you eat, that might constitute as healthy since you're eating like a rabbit and Mary Kate Olsen. And if you come here for the decor, dude, seriously go get some seriously awesome Mexican food in Belltown at Mama's and dine in the Elvis room.

  • Sheila Y.

Yuck-o This place is so damn disappointing! Why oh why can't I have a decent big ass burrito place within walking distance of my home that serves up some goodness til at least 2 in the morning! If I had the capital I would open up a bomb ass joint that actually served burritos filled with marinated steak and chicken, with decent rice and beans and load it with cheese and any other thing my patrons wanted. Instead because I am a poor student I am stuck with Bimbo's that fills its tortilla with God knows what and then trys to top the thing off with some kind of enchilada sauce from hell. The Margarita's are knarly to boot (cheapest well tequila I swear). Just stay away from here, or better yet just go downstairs to Cha Cha's.

    (2)
  • Eli B.

The food is pretty debatable, sometimes outright bad. Checking ID's at the door is cute and reminds me of my favorite dive bar in San Diego, the Casbah. The 3rd and 4th star are solely for atmosphere, especially downstairs. It's dark and loud like an 80's punk rock Christmas in TJ... apparently it's my genre, cause I just love it!

  • Phil E.

I don't know much. In fact.. It could be said that I know a tremendous amount about precious little. But I know burritos. I grew up in L.A. In Los Angeles, burritos grow like weeds - springing forth with dreams of mad consumption - from betwixt the concrete cracks. Well maybe not figuratively, but literally... But these burritos at Bimbo's are great. Finding a good burrito is a rare thing in the NorthWest. I think you could safely say that Mexican Food in the NorthWest is generally asstastic. No one was more surprised than I to find a great, dependable, and filling burrito in Seattle - let alone in Capitol Hill. Sweet, fresh ingredients. I love the Burrito Inferno. And their nachos kick. Generally, Mexican food from the smaller shacks and stands is the best you can find. It's certainly better than what passes for Mexican food in Mexico (which is made from cactus and pumice). And Bimbo's retains some of that authentic stand flava - cheap, sloppy, enormous burritos filled with beans and guacamole and cilantro lime sour cream and, most of all, wonder. There was something about the ambience in the old location - but I think that came from the years of marinating in that old building. Soaking up the atmosphere, burrito and sangria consumption, and lord knows what else, it had a certain character that the current location lacks. But give it time. The Oscar Meyer Wiener Mobile wasn't built in one day.

    (4)
  • Todd L.

Food service of America. I've seen these trucks parked out front, delivering Bimbo's their "quality" ingredients. There is no surprise that this "food" reminds me of "Taco day" back when I was in junior high school. What the hell happened, Bimbo's? I remember going back when this place opened up in the mid nineties. The food was pretty good, not outstanding but pretty good. Now it's like I'm paying for a bad case of gas and indigestion, served with the most ridiculous attitude, (like the girl at the counter secretly is working on the solution to world hunger or an alternative to fossil fuel). Give me a Reeser's microwave burrito over this crap, any day.

  • Brian L.

This place seems tiny. And it is, except when you consider there is also a downstairs! WHAT? That's right, you can also go downstairs which will be surprisingly empty, even on a Friday night.. except when it gets a bit later and the bros come rolling in. When the heck did the bro revolution start, anyway? They ruin everything! Well, they've got a pretty jam packed bar, not a whole lot of beers on tap, but a really excellent menu. Great tortilla chips, tacos, all your heart desires. In case of denseness, this place is Mexican food. So expect the menu items to be as such. Fun place, but if you dislike crowds it gets annoying and super LOUD. Go on an off day at off hours, it's a really chill atmosphere.

    (4)
  • Steph W.

I was reading reviews and noticed there was a downstairs. I have not verified this personally, but I'll tell you the main floor is small and a little cramped. I came with a group of about 7 people. I asked for a plate of fries, which I didn't think was too much to ask for. Just about every place (I thought) had fries. The server, wearing a shirt that said "Wolfgang says f*ck", told me straight up "we sure as sh*t don't have fries". Oh, okay dude. Maybe it's the way people are in Seattle. I'm not from around there but damn, just tell me you don't have fries. Anyway- we ordered some nachos and a number of different margaritas. THAT was the redeeming quality about this place. The nachos are THE BOMB and the different types of margaritas are DELICIOUS. I had a "basic ass margarita" and it was phenomenal. The ancho margarita has a bite to it and tastes overwhelmingly of lime. Bitter lime but it was good. I think my bill was 15 bucks or so for 2 margaritas and a shot of tequila. Decent little divey place to get cheap good food and drinks.

I tried multiple times to like this place. I like the concept, it's fun! The first time we went they were busy and the service was slow, okay I get it. The second time the same thing. The third time, there were two or three other tables occupied, at least three people working on the floor, and it took over 10 minutes to get waters. Another 10 minutes and still no margaritas. We left. I hate doing that, but I felt like a burden to them. Perhaps I'm not hipster enough, but it was really uncool. I will not be back. I'm still a fan of the Cha Cha lounge downstairs.

This place is great if you are a dude with a beard wearing flannel and you just want some tacos and a tallboy. They have some really fun decor inside with every inch of the wall covered with a crazy Mexican wresting theme that they reinforce with large sombreros, wresting masks and thousands of beer tops nailed to the wall to create a colorful mosaic. Their laid-back atmosphere comes through in their food, service and drinks. Not a lot of consistency in quality from one day to another but that's not really the point of this place I guess... It's great if you're drunk already and get hungry OR you've got the munchies (they even have stoner nachos made out of Doritos). Just know that the service or food might not be that great but if you want a laid-back atmosphere in a eclectically decorated space, Bimbos is the place for you!

It's hard to find great Mexican food the further from Mexico you get, but Bimbo's is about as good as I've ever had and definitely the place to go in Seattle. Their prices can't be beat, tequila selection for days and an atmosphere that Capitol Hill can get behind. If you're in Seattle visiting or checking out new spots you don't need to think about it, just go already. Head downstairs to Cha Cha's lounge for some intimate drinks and have some fun in the photo booth. Be ready though the second you swipe the head shots come fast and furious!

Taco Tuesday? I say Taco Everyday. The number one best thing about Bimbos is their double decker tacos! DOUBLE DECKER! And at no extra charge. I'm drooling just thinking about them. They take your basic taco and turn it into a magical blend of that soft and crunchy magic you've always wanted, a soft shell with beans enveloped around a hard shell and then filled to the brim with your protein or starch of choice (go for the fish! Or the pork! Or the potatoes!) and topped with lettuce and some sauce, maybe a few jalapeños. Mmm. Are you hungry yet? Happy Hour is everyday from 4-8 AND all day Sundays and Mondays. The service isn't always amazing, but it's never terrible and the food isn't always consistent but it's always cheap and I've never been disappointed. Not a fan of tacos? Well that's weird, but they always have a plethora of burritos, nachos, and a salad or two. Feeling adventurous? Try your burrito wet! Or try the inferno nachos! And of course, don't forget about the double decker tacos!

Not terrible, not incredible. Came here for taco Tuesday: $2 tacos and $2 tecate tall boys sounds like a pretty decent deal. The tacos however, were watery and skimpy. I opted for a $4 Pacifico instead of the tall boy. Service was friendly enough but super slow. We awkwardly sat there for a bit before we even got a menu and it took a while to get our check. I'd maybe come here again and just get something of the regular menu to try.

A friend and I went to Bimbos on a Sunday afternoon. It was busy in the front area but we got a table in the back. The waitress was super slow and they didn't get another one of staff until we were just about to leave. We both had the Down Home burrito and were disappointed. It was like eating a tortilla full of bland mash potatoes :( I could barely taste or tell that there were other ingredients inside. Sorry Bimbos, never again...

I came here with a friend before a High on Fire show around the corner on a Wednesday. I am not sure if the music was catered to that crowd or not, as I am an out of stater...but it was cool. Got great service, good drinks, and killer tacos. If I lived in the area, I would be here for happy hour ($1 tacos/$2 pints if I remember correctly) often. Many vegetarian/vegan options...including soft shell potato tacos that rocked.

Do not overlook this place for food! For years I would head straight downstairs without giving Bimbo's so much as a second glance. These days I am much (okay, a little) wiser. The food is delicious, you can take it downstairs if you wish, and they have tons of hot sauces, including Aardvark. I usually grab a shredded beef burrito for takeout while I am at work, but I happened to come in with a friend last night. We only had drinks (pomegranate jalapeno strongly recommended), but our server Robin was awesome! My friend has been out of the country for grad school for 3 months, so once a lightweight has turned into fear of alcohol poisoning after so much as looking at shots. Robin was really great about checking in on us, refilling water, and especially nice about getting Kara a "shot" of water and pineapple back so she could make me look like less of an alcoholic. We ran into a regular at our bar, who insisted on shots, going so far as demanding Kara take one. Robin told him she would get Kara a shot, then dressed up a water with lime and no one was any wiser. I was really impressed that she went so far to make my friend comfortable. Great service, great drinks, great food!

This place is terrific. Way too loud and filled with hipsters - the people that work there seem just relaxed and genuinely helpful. The service is some of the best on the hill. The food is fresh and great. The margaritas change depending who is the bartender - but always a great job.

Umm never get hard tacos here. Beans rice n meat burrito not bad. Actually only reason to bump to 2 stars. Service wasn't bad. But it wasn't good either. Kept it at 2 stars. Ambience was like going to an American wrestling joint and they had all hulk hogan. Cool guy. El Santo. But nothing to write home about. Unnecessary to revisit.

Consider this review to be biased and one of those reviews that gets mocked for being irrelevant to other diners. I have a special place in my heart for Bimbo's. Many years ago my wife and I stumbled upon (no exaggeration...) Bimbo's. On a day trip to Seattle we were enamored with the Luchador decor and the cozy feel of the side booths. It was dimly lit and perfect for our intimate conversation. The drinks were interesting but we stuck to our agenda of one drink and one shot. On later visits we tried them and they were good but nothing of particular inspiration. Yes, we still go back to relive the magic. So my advice is to take your significant other here when you are new in love and looking to turn a day trip into an overnight trip...wink..wink...

This rating is primarily based on the delivery service, although the food seems to suffer because of their poor delivery capabilities... The first time I ordered, it took over 2 hours. Thankfully, they remade the food before they finally brought it so it was still pretty good. The second time, no issues, good food. The third time, they couldn't take my delivery order because their "fax machine wasn't working." I still don't understand what that has to do with a phone order, but ok. The fourth time they couldn't take my delivery order because they were "slammed." Ok, I guess that's preferable to waiting 2 hours again, but why offer the service if you can't keep up with it? The fifth and last time I ordered, the delivery person called me to have me come meet them on the street rather than bring the food to my door like every other delivery place does. He said it was because he had too many deliveries. Got the food and it was nearly cold, and had been sitting so long that the tortilla for my burrito was like raw dough. They left out the cheese, gave me the wrong kind of beans, and the meat was dry and terrible. I may try them one more time, but I'll go to the restaurant. They should probably just give up on delivery altogether. What a bummer.

Last time there was a hair in my burrito. I was willing to overlook it. This time, you gave me a tiny taco, not the huge burrito I had ordered, and because it was all wrapped up for takeout, I couldn't tell. Easiest way to wreck my day.

Great mexican food, drink specials, quality bartenders. Try all the different hot sauces. I come for lunch and happy hour regularly. One of my favorite capitol hill spots. Does get busy sometimes - shock! - so you may have to wait.

Bimbos is a dive -- because the bar is in a basement it can sometimes seem a little stuffy. My husband and I come here when we feel like we are starting our night in Capitol Hill. Filled with Luchadore masks and other kitschy items, Bimbo's has an excellent feel to it. The food is okay, the drinks are pretty strong, and the servers are friendly. It's that bar that you visit because it's a standby that will always be there -- it's comforting, a bit loud, but a little stuffy -- in other words, a perfect dive.

Wow! Just wow! The service was far more superior than I have experienced in years! The decor and overall authentic Mexican cantina feel transported me back to Mexico. I felt the sand between my toes and sun on my cheeks the minute I entered. The server was a god among men. I was thrown back by his crystal blue eyes and knowledge of burritos! I only gave it a four because the server made me feel as if I was the only one in the room and a queen. I was let down as it turns out he was doing this with all the other patrons. Highly recommend it to anyone look to be transported to Mexico right here in Seattle!

This is one of my happy places, if you will, one of my favorite watering holes/eateries in the city. It feels very 'Seattle' in an honest, unaffected way, and I like that. Give me a cheese quesadilla and a couple house margaritas (maybe even a kamikaze shot), and I'm well on my way to a fantastic evening. Especially if there's good company. This isn't the kind of place you bring your parents. You show your ID to the bouncer at the door. There's table service, but you seat yourself wherever there's an open spot, which may or may not be a table that hasn't been cleared and wiped down yet. That's OK. When the server eventually shows up, he or she will be friendly and helpful and laid-back. One gets the sense that the people working here work harder and have more interesting lives than you do. The food and drinks and atmosphere will keep you coming back, and at some point, you won't even bother opening the menu anymore. The air can get a little warm in the summer. The music can get a little loud. None of it will matter.

Bimbos serves food, not art. They put potatoes in the burrito; be still my heart. Service is a tad slow and unresponsive, but I appreciate the tacit reminder to relax and enjoy the company of my loved ones.

Ok so I know I just gave this place 3 stars, but the food here is pretty awesome. I've been here about 5 times and each time I have to say that their food and drinks are pretty spot on. The service is whatever but they're pretty cool about being like "meh" so it doesn't really bother me. They just bring me my food in a timely enough manner with no smiles or frills and it has been DELICIOUS each and every time so boom there you go 3 stars.

Way too loud, even given the bar atmosphere. I brought a meter with me and it got into the 95db ranges for half of our dinner. I feel like some old persnickity dude, but seriously, painful. That's in the permanent hearing loss ranges. We actually just texted eachother at our table when we couldn't hear eachother, it was ridiculous. Food: Mediocre, but basically the highlight of everything that is wrong with Seattle mexican food. Bland contents with piles of hot sauces if you want flavor. Drinks: Good, but the margaritas/sangrias are where it's at. And by that I mean - don't order a drink they haven't made in advance. Service: Great. There are good people working here, and they have always taken care of me well. Decor, feel, etc? Fucking fantastic, and it's why everyone is there anyways. Super cool spot, great location, the cha cha lounge is the other half of the place. Everything said, I'll probably end up back here a few times.

My wife and I love the food so much we arranged to have them help with some of the catering for our wedding. Big thanks to Barry and the kitchen staff for making our special day that much more special. I highly recommend the beef soft tacos, nachos, and a beer margarita.

We had a terrible experience here. The food came out with mold on it. We told the server and he completely dismissed it like we were the problem. This place has real food quality issues. We were so disappointed.

The last time I was here my fedora stuck the wall and the bouncer kicked me out for giving my boyfriend who works at MICROSOFT a hand job. Really? What's up with that! Other then those two things it seems like a really cool place I feel like I could meet some celebrities here like the members of kings of Leon or something. I would order them a blood orange mimosa but they also don't have blood orange sanpelogino what year is this.. HELLO!

Awesome place, service sucks as others said.... Great happy hour prices on beer and chips in a pretty cool atmosphere. I definitely dig the luchadore decor haha. Bar tender had a pretty shitty attitude so that kinda ruined it. Cool enough to stop in for a cheap beer and chips if you find yourself in Cap Hill.

Bimbo's, the oft forgotten cantina on the street level above the hipster dungeon of Cha-Cha's. I hadn't been here for food since... well, the mid-2000s. The food is legit. I got the down home burrito with potatoes, guac, beans, salsa, olives, and vegan chipotle chicken. Super duper bomb.com . My friend got the Stoner Nachos. Like normal nachos but on Doritos instead of tortilla chips. They definitely lived up to their name. The atmosphere is grungy and laid back, definitely a throwback to old Capitol Hill (ya know, like 5-10 years ago). Definitely a good place to feed your drunk (or otherwise induced) muchies or to get a totally bomb legit burrito. Yum-mers.

Disregard the haters. Eight stars in the category of, "cheap Mexican casual." Organic rice and beans, mostly locally sourced and mostly vegan menu? Please. That's four stars right there. (I the kitchen)! This is not fine dining. But - it's good food, remember, "organic and/or locally sourced and mostly vegan?", simply prepared and pretty cheap, there's a nice selection of taps . . . The servers are clearly not in it for a career. This isn't Italy, this is Seattle, and you're only tipping $3 on your $15 check anyway, so enough with the grumpies. I've never been dissed by the staff, and while I once went three bites of food with an empty beer glass - I'm strong that way. It would be four stars if they bought their provisions from the same place as Mama's Kitchen in Belltown. We can argue, from there, whether this is a seven or eight star place. We want more places like this.

My food from here has always been awesome! I'm vegan and there are tons of options for me which is super rad. Once my boyfriend had to send his pork verde burrito back because it had barely no pork in it, but they comp'd it so no complaints here! The service can sometimes be slow, but mostly because they seem understaffed. Which sucks for them more than me, really. Drinks are cheap and strong which is how I like them! Music is loud which I don't mind, those who care... It's a dive, get over it.

If you're good to the staff they are good to you. Best taco optiobs on the hill. It gets uncomfortably crowded as early as 7 which is unfortunate, but its a great spot for happy hour if your winding up for a drinking night with friends. My tip: if you find you like it, avoid going downstairs.

Im salivating just thinking about it. Came here after our friends told us about their awesome vegetarian options and the food was so good, I have dreams about it. The Margarita's were on a happy hour special (I cant remember exactly what the special was) but it was such a good experience, I only wish I could go every day. Wait staff seemed kind of slow but we were having a good time catching up with friends, so it wasn't the end of the world.

This was one of my favourite restaurants to order at and I, in the past ordered here often. Ordered the most horrible, cold breakfast burrito here tonight and got my half assed add on condiments of guac and didnt see the cheese I paid for and mashed potatoes in a breakfast burrito? Come on. The cherry on top was the new delivery guy who when I handed a $20 for my $13 order said thanks and quickly walked away. Complained to Eat24 and the delivery guy admitted he does this all the time and never offers change back unless the customer specifically stops him. Terrible, someone shouldn't have to confront you to be offered change as you run away. Super let down and after all the great Inferno Burritos and super cool delivery guy in the past, its time to say Adios! Oh, and lest we forget: the rep said the Bimbo's employee doesn't even carry change! So apparently he creates a situation where he can't give you your change even if you wanted it. In the Eat24 rep's words "He basically stole from you"

Cheap food and lots of options on their menu. Also have margaritas in mason jars, which is my favorite!! Servers are nice and accommodating. The atmosphere is definitely bar / divey type so don't come here for a nice dinner. Food is only mediocre, but you get what you pay for.

I probably come here too often. Bimbos is by no means the best, but it's affordable and they've got a good variety of food and drinks. Definitely a big fan of the lunch deal, and the long happy hour. I personally find Bimbos to be easier to hang out at than Cha Cha downstairs (too loud/dark/suffocating sometimes). Best days to come are Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday ($2 tacos and tecate). Service-wise, the place has got some really great employees and I often leave totally satisfied. There's only one waitress here that, in my opinion, isn't on par with the rest...every time she's ever served me, it's done so begrudgingly and like its a pain in the ass that she has to serve me and take my order. Last time she was working, she ignored my table for an incredibly long time, never asking if we wanted more drinks or any food...and yet she kept checking up on the two tables right next to us. I shouldn't have to flag down the bussboy or go up to the bar every time anyone at my table wants anything. Don't know her name, but if you come here often you probably know who I am talking about.

Love the decor, if you're looking for something fun this is the place. Service...eh, it's not really with a smile, but I'm moderately forgiving of that sort of thing. The drinks that are on the special menu are the way to go. This place is small so getting a seat for more than 2 people is a dice roll. It hasn't been particularly cheap.

I've only eaten Bimbo's food via delivery, but I have ordered multiple times. Having been born and raised on So Cal, I am one of those annoying Californians who will freely lament the lack of truly great Mexican food available in Seattle. Bimbo's isn't an exception, but their food is good, and I know when I am being a whiny pain in the ass. I'm pretty sure their beef tacos would be great if I ordered them in the restaurant, but they do not fare well for delivery- stick with the burritos. I did hate their salsa verde with such a blazing passion that I immediately threw it away, but these are minor issues overall. Quick, easy delivery, not at all spendy, good use of spices, and big burritos that can easily become two meals.

I hadn't been here in a couple of years and stopped by a couple of weeks ago for drinks and dinner. Dinner was a mistake. This isnt a bad joint to have a drink or two, but this is not a place you go to for mexican food. This is a bar that happens to serve food that is technically mexican food - I have had better mexican in the freezer section of my local market. Pass on the food...unless you've been drinking and need something to eat and quality/flavor doesnt matter.

Just gotta say, you can't go wrong with pint-size margaritas that are under $5 and reasonably sized $3 happy hour entrees. I'm officially a regular. (The only thing wrong with this place are the servers. They think they're too cool for school but really just come across as unfriendly/grumpy/miserable overaged hipsters.)

couple a bimbos walk into bimbos cantina and what do they order??? -1 pitcher of sangria (HAPPY HOUR!) -tacos-a variety-these were good and drippy -nacho's-cheesy cheese, cheez overall i was quite pleased and "my bimbo friend was also totally stoked"

  • Katherine D.

I've got no complaints with the kitschy decor, or the size of the place. I like all the wood with pops of bright color, and tons of things to look at while you're hanging out. Service has been so-so, drinks are just OK but I was dismayed to see pre-mixed margarita components, and the food was also above average, but not great. Happy hour is pretty decent, and they do it all day on Sundays.

What Bimbo's does well: FOOD. I was a bit skeptical at first - Mexican food, in hipster town, served by primarily white folks - but they make a tasty burrito! I'm also a fan of the Stoner Nachos. The decour is fun as well. The beer is... beer, so no complaints there either. The only drawback to Bimbo's is how typical the service is for the Cap Hill neighborhood. If this is your first visit to the resturaunt, don't expect any warmth from the bartenders, servers, or anybody employed at the establishment. After a second or third visit you might get a greeting or friendly gesture. But this is Capitol Hill. Customer service (apparently) has to be earned.

I've been here a dozen times or so... and don't think I'll be back. The burritos are pretty good, the drinks are ok, and the service is horrible for the most part. This last time I got food poising, and have been suffering for the past 2 days. I guess I shouldn't expect more from a place run by dirty hipsters, that barely mind their customers.

Incredible restaurant. Had the fajita burrito and it was one of the best meals I've had in Seattle. Great atmosphere plus the Cha Cha Lounge is downstairs if you want a more chill vibe for your meal.

  • Brianna S.

The complaints as well as complements on this place are both legit. Bimbo's reminds me a lot of a Mexican place in San Diego called Pokez. I don't know who was first, or really care, both are pretty tasty. If you like one, you will definitely like the other. I went here for the first time about 6 years ago. The place was still there and after all this time, still delish. They have happy hour all day Sunday and Monday... So of course I ordered the half order of nachos, fish taco and a grilled potato taco. Though I may have been slightly intoxicated before getting here, and alcohol always makes food taste *that* much better, I do think their fish tacos are one of the best I've had. The only unfortunate thing with both these spots is the service. Don't expect friendly service unless you are a usual, or to get refills without asking for them. I'm not expecting anything magical when eating at little Mexican joint, but I do expect the server to not have a stick in their you know what. Despite the lousy service I will be back. Some spots are just too good and cheap to forget. I just have to mentally prepare myself to be neglected before going in.

Let's get something straight right now. I love bimbos. I mean Bimbos's. Yeeeaah. I was meeting a friend for dinner before another sesh at Rock Box and we decided to go to some place in Capitol Hill since he was already there. "Where shall we dine" I asked. I was then told just to drive to Capitol Hill... so with no clear destination in sight I drove to The Hill. As we wandered the streets sniffing around for the perfect place to dine we came across Bimbo's (or what we thought was the Cha Cha Lounge... it's downstairs). I just needed food in my belly STAT so in we went. It was later on a Monday night and the place was busy; filled with all manner of ultra cool and beautiful people enjoying their off time with margs and Mexican dishes of delight. We grabbed a table right quick and our server, Aaron, came hopping over. Super nice dude... he's legit. To say his service and friendliness was stellar would be like telling a unicorn it's horn is kinda magical. Am I right, Blix? My broseph ordered off the HH menu (all day Monday, kiddos!) and was delighted with the portion to cost ratios and the deliciousness of his food choices. I went with some sort of peppered meaty burrito and it was awesome! The ingredients and burrito as a whole seemed quite a bit healthier than I was expecting and it was so friggin' yumtastic. I could easily have filled a horse's feed bag with 37.5 burritos and meandered around Capitol Hill all night munching on burrito... occasionally stamping my feet and letting out a whinny or two. Homies' lady friend joined us when we were about finished up and ordered a burrito to go (she was gathering strength for our upcoming Rock Box battle). The smell made her want to try it there... and by the time we were heading out the door she had submitted that thing to a masticated death of epic proportions. It's not often that I really, really enjoy a restaurant to this degree so quickly but everything here fell into place perfectly for me. We didn't have to wait for a table, Aaron is a bad ass, the food is amazing, the prices are great and the decor is so rad... luchadore masks all over the walls!! I'm definitely looking forward to coming back to Bimbo's Catina! I'm a huge fan!

Three of my grown kids and I descended on Bimbo's for boardgame fun on Christmas eve. Fortunately for us, our waiter did not have the Capitol Hill disease that some of the baristas, waiters, etc., have on the Hill - you know, aloofitis, where they're so busy being "hip" that they're arrogant and inattentive? Mike was a real sweetheart, and helped to make our hours there (uh, yeah, there were several of them) memorable. Food was excellent. We chose from the Happy Hour menu, which was available, to our surprise. Great prices, good food. And, heads up: Mike's a hell of a word man. Ask him for secret help and amaze your friends with your sudden expertise!

My review probably falls somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. You can't beat the prices here for the quality of food, especially at lunchtime. I ordered the Bimbo's burrito with a PBR and had to get a to-go container for the last bit of my burrito! For such a cheap meal, it was both filling and delicious (especially with a ton of their jalapeno hot sauce). I read some other reviews on here before going and am impressed by how badly everyone speaks of the service. They were nice and attentive. No one came by with a tray to sweep up our crumbs after every bite, but again -- go with reasonable expectations. It's a divey sort of place. Cool decor (lots of lucha libre) and cheap eats. They have excellent portions and nice staff. What's not to like, for what it is?

Drinks are good, food is mediocre. Don't come in here thinking it's going to be some good mexican gourmet shit. It's decent mexi-pub food dressed up in a lucha libre cafe. You want a good burrito? Go to Rancho Bravo. You want to have some drinks and nibble on a quesadilla in a spot with interesting decor? Go here.

Update: as of 04/19/2008: NO BUENO!! I had vested a lot of time at the old location and loved it! The service was never peppy (it's Capitol Hill-people have to 'keep their cool' I guess) but it was never so rude that I wouldn't come back. That said. I've now been to the new location three times, each with a different set of folks. My final visit sadly, was this past Saturday. The server was very rude, annoyed and completely ignored everything I ordered except for the actual food. I asked for a soda...never got it. Asked three times. Asked for salsa when my food came and ended up getting up and asking the bartender. He brought it 12 minutes later. It was not busy, it was just after 1pm and there was one other table. The chicken taco was crap! Nachos were good and the beef taco was ok but the chicken .... I'll say it again!! CRAP!!! I see where they get their middle name from...must be what the customers do after they leave the joint.....b*%!$! Two stars....not a star more. Hmpf. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For a cheap and organic experience....this is a great place to eat! It does attract the trendy peeps but it is delicious. Whether you be vegetarian or carnivore, the eats here are finger lickin good with great prices to boot. This spin on organic/Mexican has great nachos with black beans, smothered in goodness, 2$ tacos, and mondo burritos you could write home to Mom about. Try their drinks to, yes they have a bar...and it's a stiff one!! I gave it 4 not 5 stars only based on location...it's on Capitol Hill which is not one of my fave places to dine but it is well worth it. If you love Capitol Hill and the trendsetters/hipsters....add another star. :)

The only time the waitress ever smiled or said ANYTHING to us, was after she had run our card, and we were getting ready to leave the tip. I'm sorry that you finally woke up and realized that you are 32 years old, and waiting on people at a gross burrito place is what your life has become.... but don't take it out on me..... For the record though, she did have a great 'im an individual, but i dress like all the other hipsters on capitol hill' outfit on...You know that's the only thing that gets her out of bed in the morning....

Our first night in Seattle looking for our new apt found us at Bimbos. We weren't sure what to expect but we were pretty hungry and craving mexican so we just google searched what was near our hotel. We were so pleasantly suprised by bimbos. Its not the extra indulgent and sloppy mexican food we're used to back in Indiana but it was still equally as pleasing. The salsa was so fresh and I really appreciated the hint of garlic they added. I got the organic bean burrito and it rocked my world. The beans werent mushy and the cheese was perfect. I've rarely eaten a burrito and not felt weighed down....but this was the exception.

I hate to base a review on poor, surly service...so I didn't. The food didn't impress, the margaritas were small and weak, the tortilla chips were stale and not worth having to ask the rude waiter several times to please bring a basket to the table. Where's the fiery flavor that this place is supposed to be known for? Bland, bland, bland. Its local reputation has blown its ego out of proportion. There will be no return trip for this customer and no recommmendations to friends.

I sat at the bar with my friend with the intention of enjoying a few drinks and eating some decent food at happy hour prices. I usually just avoid this place because the crowd in here is a little too homogeneously composed of contemptuous hipstery folk. My latest experience has only served to reinforce my negative thoughts of the place in general. The bartender seemed like he was too cool to check up on us, or ask if we were enjoying our food and beverages. Although the food and beer were pretty tasty, I don't think I have any intention of regularly stopping by here or Cha Cha's.

so this was the 1st stop on my tour de seattle...cool chill vibe, nice service, yummy nachos with actual crema, not sour cream, WOOT! no complaints, too bad we were looking for the downstairs area (the cha cha) and the bf having not lived in the area for 10 years was unfamiliar with the new location. all in all, no complaints...good way to distress after airport hassle.

I never, ever liked black olives - that is, until I had the chicken supreme burrito from Bimbo's. There's something about them in that burrito that...seems so right. Sunflower seeds too? Awesome. So yeah, it's not the most amazing burrito in the world, but if it can make me like black olives, then it must be doing something right. Granted, this review is really of the old version of Bimbo's. I went there pretty much bi-weekly for lunch time burritos, so good and big that they ended up as burritos that took care of lunch and dinner at the same time. I liked the spazz-out colorful decor and the sometimes surly / sometimes lovely service. I was sad when I heard they had to move - but glad that they weren't just closing. I've been to the "new" Bimbo's once. Not that it matters to me, but now you have to be 21 to go in, as the entrance to the Cha Cha is technically inside Bimbo's doors. The decor is a little more grown-up, though I'm not quite sure why I say that because it's still a Mexico-luchador explosion. Maybe there's less color? The bar is now a prominent feature, and I like that they have booths. My chicken supreme burrito tasted the same to me - so no complaints there. It's a little too far for lunch time visits now...

I live near here and, having lived for 15 years in the West Coast's Mecca of SF (though Vancouver, you are a close #2), I occasionally get an erection that can be cured not by my wife but only by a well made burrito. Given the appalling lack of choices in that vein in Seattle, I sometimes settle. Bimbo's, however, has such a burrito, though leave the phallic part out when you reference this review. Interesting pepper beef and herbed chicken, nicely spiced, good hot sauce should you need a little help evacuating later. One bitch i have, and why 3 vs 4 stars: the Great Seattle Passive-Aggressive Service taken to an unusually Go Fuck Yourself level here. That's why I do takeout...i figure them not making the great margin they could from me in the bar is penalty enough. One thing i like about population density is more choices, more competition, better service. Build, Seattle, build!

I've given Bimbo's two chances. After all, so many people seem to rave about their food and I wanted to believe that this was the case for a good reason. Yet, I didn't see any evidence to suggest that their veggie burritos are anything but run-of-the-mill. Having lived in suburban New Jersey, coastal Maine, and Seattle, I'm far from a Mexican food expert, but even I know what mediocrity tastes like. I would be remiss, though, if I didn't praise their nachos highly. This option won't probably do much good for the vegan-inclined, but, if cheese is good by you, you'll do well in ordering a giant plate. Not nutritionally, of course, but you knew what I meant, right?

from out of town. this place is just a small dive bar/food place. the menu is pretty meager and could be considered to have a bar menu. i had the vegan burrito which was quite large and really good. the best part was the price. just under $6- c'mon- that's great. i also ordered the chips and salsa (not great/not bad). the portion of chips was large and the salsa came in a very small dish. the server did offer me more salsa though, when they noticed i still had plenty of chips. the service was good and efficient. the decor was minimalist, but interesting and divey. i would imagine they would make a stiff drink. this place def has attitude and location.

I love the burritos here and I keep coming back for them. I especially like the Bimbo's Burrito (formerly the Basic) and the herb chicken. The atmosphere is pretty cool - the music is too loud sometimes, but I love the way they've decorated. The staff can seem a little harried, but I've had mostly good experiences with them as well.

If a Bimbo's burrito and Chipotle burrito were in a wrestling match, Bimbo's would surely win. While the two burritos match up in girth and price, I think Bimbo's Bitchin' burrito (I ordered one with peppered steak) dominates. The burrito itself featured a better good stuff vs. rice ratio than Chipotle's. I went on a Monday night, which features drink specials all day, so I ordered a big $3.50 Bloody Mary, which arrived spicy like I like it, but a tad heavy on the Worchestire side. I wouldn't say it's the best burrito I've had, but it was the best in recent memory and I loved the emo servers (heavy, side-swiped bangs anyone?) and Mexican kitsch decor.

(Edited from a mostly positive review and 4 stars to this on Nov 13, 2007.) While Bimbo's has never been "good", it's definitely gotten worse since they moved. I was totally craving my old usual so we tracked down the new location last night. I should have saved my non-diet meal for somewhere else. I was very disappointed. My order got messed up, one of our friend's meals came to the table ice cold in places, and the service was the worst I have ever experienced there (which is saying a lot). We'll probably never go back. There are tons of better options closer to home.

this is our go to mexican place for sit down food and drinks. i love that the customers are such a varied crowd, but even if you're not a super capitol hill hipster you can come in and enjoy the people watching and have some good fresh tacos or burritos. the margaritas aren't the best around but the frequent happy hour makes them worth it. the music is always good, the food comes fast and the salsa is just the way i like it, spicy and chunky. i also love the decor personally, though some people find it creepy, i like the dive-bar feel but that obviously has had some effort put into it.

Being from Los Angeles, I have experienced eating real burritos as my daily ritual. It was nice experience to show up @ Bimbos and enjoy their Sunday night drink specials/ Californian style burritos. The yummy sangria was amazing. This cheap/affordable place has a colorful atmosphere that gives homage to Lucha Libre culture. The only downside about this place, the waiter took a long time in carding me. If anyone with California ID/driver license visits Bimbos, you should bring additional ID.

Some establishments don't want their clientele being cooler than they are. Bimbo's Bitchin Burrito Kitchen is just that kind of establishment. Dress down and don't you dare be witty, you'll run the risk of upstaging your host. I mean c'mon, the place is called Bimbo's Bitchin Burrito Kitchen, that's funny right?! Anyway, calculated kitsch level set to ironic aside, any attempt at creating one's own atmosphere in this dull ramshackle of a restaurant will be about as appreciated as wearing a stunning white number to a wedding. I never realized convenience store tacos could become a whole dining experience but give Bimbo's Bitchin Burrito Kitchen kudos for achieving such a feat, it has gone where no restaurant has gone before. Look, Seattle is far off from the blow your mind Mexican but insult to that injury need not be added. Fortunately Bimbo's Bitchin Burrito Kitchen has been around many years so there is no hype surrounding the place. Take relief in the fact that everyone at work, the bus stop, the doctor's office will not be discussing the life altering experience a trip to Bimbo's Bitchin Burrito Kitchen has afforded them. No one will proselytize the glory of Bimbo's to you. Taco del Mar is just up the street, keep walking.

Who's gonna want sour cream mixed with their guacamole? This place doesn't have good enough food, service, or atmosphere to earn a 2nd star. The staff seems to be hired for their ability to make you seem ugly, even though they would look like the bum outside asking for change if they weren't wearing aprons. It was cute when I first moved to Seattle because the neighborhood wasn't built up enough to acknowledge competition, but now, especially since its neighboring bar cornered the market on condescending glares, it's just too much drama for your momma. The food sucks too. Again, years ago it was a great place to go for a nice vegan meal. The staff had some all-stars who would juice up your plate with extra avocado treats for a small fee, and everyone left happy. Suddenly, 5 or so years ago, it all dried up. The fatal blow for me was when they started stretching their guacamole with sour cream, which is gross and makes it impossible for a vegan to have anything even slightly tasty. Last word: Skip it. You can find plenty of people in the neighborhood to treat you like garbage while serving better food. The miserliness of sour cream in guacamole is unforgivable.

Went there a few times a while back and haven't returned. No need to. Ok food, but I do remember a decent potato taco. That's right, potato. Bring a flashlight b/c it's dark. Oh, that's suppose to be cool. Oh. It would also be "cool" if I could see the food in front of me.

Shame on you Bimbo! With a name like Bimbo's Bitchin' Burrito Kitchen you have set my expectations to levels where Camaros and snowboarding moves reside. It's not like I came in here expecting gourmet food, I simply expected a burrito that would make me exclaim - Bitchin'! What I got instead was a tortilla with a lot of beans & rice and some other standard ingredients which I suppose constituted a burrito, a wait, a beer, and all told about $10 less dollars in my pocket. I shall start referring to you as Bimbo's Boring Burrito Kitchen until the quality improves to Bitchin'. Shame on you, you Burrito tease! Update: A friend and I ventured into the new Bimbo's on our way to Ignite and the service was actually fantastic. No, it still wasn't friendly but I'm not looking for a new best friend, so I was mostly impressed with her no-nonsense bring food out when people need it approach. I was also pleasantly surprised by the upgraded decor but since I'm not going to be eating any of their jarred red lights or Dia de los Muertos decorations my real focus was on the half of a burrito that I shared with my friend. Again, it was just fine. I didn't hate it but it didn't make me want to stuff myself either....so I guess that's a good thing.

We came here Saturday with a person from Poland with a valid, state-issued ID, and told us to leave. (Fine.) We stayed to speak with their manager, at which point the door person threatened to call the cops on us, and showed us the middle finger. I tried their food the person ahead of us ordered and it is gross, definitely not worth the uber hipster 'tude. There are nicer bars on the block we got into fine afterwards (after they guaranteed we would not get in anywhere else with the ID), check em out.

Only in Seattle could a restaurant be rewarded for the worst service EVER! You have to be masochistic to frequent this establishment. 100% Not worth the bother. Especially when there is a better place a mere block away.

They have burritos, so how the fuck can it get less than three stars. Even a shitty burrito envelopes a drunks taste-buds in pure magic. Also, the staff is nice, the drinks are priced reasonably, and the decour (classy) is pretty darn awesome. Great place to eat, drink, and look super classy (that's a joke, hehe).

I only have three impressions when I eat at bimbo's: 1. dark, a bit oppressive busy interior 2. ok burritos 3. lame ass 'hipsters' who are too damn cool to make eye contact, use their words, or otherwise engage in anything resembling customer service. Perhaps these clever fellows really hate their job and people in general, which is just fine, but please don't pretend to be someone capable of taking an order or answering questions.

I hear they are moving, can't say I'll miss the velvet paintings if they get lost in the move, but as long as they still have the tasty No-Meato Burrito I will be a happy camper. My communist vegetarian roommate and I can split one (in good communist fashion) and both come out pleasantly full. They are big. Not like Gorditos big, but quite large nonetheless. UPDATE: Their new location is even BETTER! More elbow room, yay! The sangria is ho-hum, but the burritos are as satisfying as ever. EDIT: I went there the other night after picking a friend up from the airport, and their service was horrible. We came in, sat down, and asked the waitress if they were still serving food. She replied, "The kitchen closes at midnight." We said, "It's 11:50, are you still serving then?" And her reply was this snarl and, "You're not REALLY going to be THAT JERK, are you?" It was ridiculous. We came for food. If you don't have food, just say so and we'll leave! Don't cop an attitude. She was so rude. We ended up leaving, because they had already put everything away. They loose a star from me, not for closing their kitchen, but for the rude waitress. P.S. The new location is 21+ only. You must have ID to get in.

ummmmmmmmm....NO! ok wait..that margarita was pretty good. We ordered the nachos with what was supposed to be peppered beef. It reminded me a little of 9 Lives. Ugh. Oh how I love thee Bimbo's. Moved but not gone! The rebranding a la Mexican wrestling is quite enjoyable. I thought I would miss all of the kitschy items from the previous location but I found them in the basement in the new Cha Cha lounge, which with its dark red mood lighting and black leather booths, is better than ever! Don't forget to go downstairs on your next trip to Bimbo's. One thing that does make me shed a tear is that they dropped the "bitchin burrito kitchen" I didn't see it written anywhere. That's kind of fun though because I can say I knew it when...

I've been to this spot probably 15 times total, so I think I have a pretty good gauge on their service. My favorite item on the menu is the basic burrito with peppered shredded beef. It's normally excellent, the perfect amount of food always delivered hot and quickly. For Happy Hour you can get a $1.50 Raineer. I've tried the margarita once or twice. Meh, but I'm not really a margarita type of guy. Went a few days ago and ordered the Burrito Inferno, which was definitely hot, but the thing was filled with lettuce!! It was kinda bizarre, actually, maybe they had completely run out of beans or something and they just needed to substitute something. Anyway, apart from this most recent visit I think it's a great value. The waitstaff don't exactly have shining personalities, but they give fairly good service. One complaint I have is that they never ask if I want another beer (which I almost always do), and they just bring the check. As far as it being authentic Mexican food...well, first of all, we're in the U.S. of A. and second of all, we're in Seattle. I'm sure if you look hard enough you can find somewhere else in Seattle with "authentic" Mexican food, but as far as I'm concerned that's a bunch of shit. You're pretty much always going to be eating something that's at least partially Americanized, and even if it isn't how the hell are you going to know, unless you've actually been to Mexico. Whatever.

If I could give this place negative stars, I would... I ate there once, the salsa tasted and had the consistency of stewed tomatoes out of a can. The actual food was mediocre at best... and the service was bad; as others have commented- surly is an accurate description. But what really bothers me about this dump is the fact that they are bad neighbors and give the Capitol Hill neighborhood a bad image. Rather than asking their patrons to practice good "sidewalk etiquette" (for lack of a better descriptor) or at least make sure that the sidewalk is kept somewhat clear, they allow their patrons to block the sidewalk while they smoke their cigarettes. I would definitely steer clear of this establishment; it is sad that one cannot even walk through ones own neighborhood without being harassed or insulted by drunk/rude jerks!

I ate here today. I've been plenty times and every time I've enjoyed it, just like today. The burrito was good, the chips were good and everything was fresh. Perhaps it was the time of day that made my experience enjoyable, I think I and my companion were maybe the third people to walk in just a little after noon on a Saturday. If you don't want character, then go to TDM, Qdoba, or one of those other place so some guys in polo shirts can give you your food. It makes me extremely angry and even sad that it's one of the latest victims of the capitol hill takeover. I've lived on the hill for a while and when I didn't live here, I still spent a lot of time here. Things are changing around here at a pace that I'm not sure I have the stamina to keep up with. Can't go to Linda's anymore on Friday nights because of this shit. I rarely go to the Cha, it's a little too much for me in the realm of cool-climbing hipsterness, I'm more of a moderate hipster, at any rate, capitol hill lovers take note: the bro invasion has already started. There has already been a surge of $400,000 condos and the second wave is headed for Bimbos and its neighbors. I might have to move to Ballard.

This could possibly be the best restaurant name of all time. The minute I heard it years ago I knew I would eventually come to try this Seattle institution. By location I knew the crowd would be a little different. Lot's of tattoos, LOTS, piercings and openly gay people. I don't have a problem with it, but some people might, so if it's not your bag, steer clear. That said the staff was extremely nice. Could have possible been the best service I have seen in a long time. The menu was simple. A few burritos & taco's, nacho's, quesadillas and side items. We started with chips and salsa. The chips were store bought and even though the salsa was homemade it was just average. After a few bites, we pushed back in lieu of the bitchin burritos en route. I have to admit that the burrito was pretty bitchin, but it did come up short in a couple ways. I didn't read anywhere that the beans were black. I assumed pinto since it only said whole beans. I was also excited about the name, "Inferno" and the fact that the wrap had jalapeños. Unfortunately this "Inferno" should have been called the Peter Piper, because these peppers were pickled and most likely from a can. I think the menu could have been more descript and I definitely would have skipped the peppers. Even with the disappointment the burrito was still a "B". That said I know too many places that serve a solid "A", so I don't see going back, but if you want a unique cantina experience. Check out Bimbo's.

Hmmpph. Bimbo's offers a fun atmosphere and I love the $5 Margaritas at Happy hour. The problem is you can get better food at Taco del Mar. Worth a stop by if it's Sunday or Monday (all-day Happy Hour) to catch up with a friend, but don't come here for the food.

Came here to meet up with a friend we hadn't seen in 2 years. Had a couple of weak margaritas but the fish tacos were FANTASTIC. We were there for happy hour so the tacos were $2.50 each. I was expecting mini-sized ones for that price but they were decent sized. The decor is Mexican boxer-style. Friendly and quick service, too, on a Wednesday afternoon.

The Burritos are definitely bitchin! Great casual place to go if you are in the mood for a burrito and some mexican appetizers. Hands down one of the best mexican places in the city! Its relatively inexpensive and you always have a great time with friends there! Service is pretty casual and could use some improvement during the dinner/peak hours, but I never had a problem with lunch there!

When: About 4 weeks ago Food: My wife and I walked by this for the first 2 months we lived in Seattle. Finally we decided to go in. We both had burritos (mine dry, hers wet) and they were extremely average. Not a heck of a lot of flavor. Service: We walked in on a Saturday at lunch time and were pretty much ignored. The bartender was surrounded by people at the bar (not sure if patrons or staff). Having never been there we just took a seat and eventually were brought menus. Just seemed a bit odd in the moment. After that, service was okay - nothing special. Ambience - average Will try to find better.

This place was pretty ok, the decorations was very special. The service was pretty good, the night we went was on a Wednesday and it was packed. Bimbo's is definitely a go-to. Good happy hour, tasty sangria, delicious burritos. I'm a huge fan of the Burrito Inferno, even if I have to stop eating halfway through and pick out the jalapenos because I can't take the heat. It hurts so good. Hill standard.

Had lunch here today and it was awesome. They have a lunch special from 12-3pm Mon-fri which has a few different items to choose from and you get a PBR or soda with it. Since I don't drink beer or soda, I got their house special margarita with my Bimbo's burrito. Both the margarita and the burrito were awesome. My sister enjoyed her vegan burrito and PBR.. The music was a bit loud, some songs more than others, but it is a bar after all. We were hoping to use their photo booth that they have downstairs, but sadly it broke down the night before.. The waiter we had was pretty nice and was quick with our drinks and food. I'm sure we will be back again.

My girlfriend and I had without question the worst restaurant/bar experience of our lives at this place over the weekend. I don't even know where to begin. I've been to the attached bar called Chacha drinking with friends a few times in the past, but had never tried Bimbos. I had heard they had some decent mexican-ish food so my girlfriend and I stopped by to grab a bite. From the moment we sat down we felt like we had just entered a clubhouse we weren't invited to. The woman who was supposed to be serving us seemingly ignored us for 25 minutes. Granted it was somewhat busy, but she certainly saw us. A few of her friends were there and she kept chatting them up... all the while shooting us glances as we uncomfortably tried to get her attention. After close to a half hour she finally asked if we wanted any drinks. We told her our drink order and she immediately walked off before I could even get a chance to ask about the food menu... I wasn't sure if it was going to be another half hour until we had a chance to place our food order so I kind of shouted "wait!" as she was fleeing to fill our drink order. Bad move, I guess... she turned around looking more than a little peeved that I had interrupted her. I asked if we could place a food order before she left... she slapped a menu in front of me and I quickly ordered a couple tacos. She suggested we upgrade to "double decker" tacos (which apparently are held together by beans... which my girlfriend isn't a fan of)... We declined the upgrade. The waitress looked at us like we were fools... "It's free"... My girlfriend responded with a joke about counting her calories... the waitress countered with some snarky comment about "you could use a little extra weight" (in retrospect this might have been a compliment, but my girlfriend has struggled with anorexia and didn't appreciate it)... We again declined and once again the waitress stormed off looking agitated. Honestly considered leaving at this point. About 10 minutes go by and we still haven't received our drinks. Waitress is back to chatting with her friends. I flag her down and she literally rolled her eyes made a hand gesture as if to say "yeah, yeah simmer down... one second"... I reminder her about our margaritas... she huffs off, and brings them a few minutes later. Finish our drinks... wait... wait... wait... no food. Wait some more... wait... Consider flagging down the waitress again, but think better of it. Luckily after close to an hour our tacos come out... Double decker tacos. Wait, what?! ... Honestly wouldn't have been a big deal, but my girlfriend has a serious problem with beans and she's pretty angry at this point... so she starts giving the waitress a little attitude back and complains about the double decker tacos. The waitress looks at my girlfriend like she's utterly insane. Says something to the extent of "it's free... why are you complaining?" (meaning the "double decker" upgrade) ... It isn't what we ordered! ... I somewhat intervene and say it's no big deal... we can just peel off the "double decker" layer and the beans, but I obviously understood my girlfriend's frustration. Waitress responds with "good idea" and begins to walk off... I stop her once again and order our last couple drinks and ask to close out our bill (which to her credit she promptly retrieved for us... though clearly begrudgingly)... Never once did she offer an apology. Never once did she offer to waive part of the bill for the mistake. In fact, she actually overcharged us by putting the wrong drinks on our bill... I didn't have the strength to really fight her on it (and didn't want to wait another hour to get it resolved). Horrible service. Horrible Experience. It was almost like "you idiots should be lucky I even served you at all"... 1 Star. However, If 10 dollar margaritas, free (mandatory) double decker upgrades and dehumanizing service are your thing... Go for it!

Bimbo's Bitchin Burrito Kitchen is a Seattle standby. Too bad I waited until last fall to ever go there (I never even stepped foot in the old location). I went with somewhat low expectations since it's a tiny restaurant above a bar and Chipotle makes the best burrito in Seattle. But on a rainy Friday night the heavens opened and we quickly found a table for four. Our waitress was downright friendly, which is apparently also miraculous since most other reviews mention awful service. And then, our food appeared in a flash! It was ridiculously quick. But tastiness was not sacrificed for speed. Our friends enjoyed their nachos and margaritas, I loved my chicken burrito ($6 - $7), and my boyfriend chowed down on a couple tacos ($3 each). My only complaints were that the space is so cramped I felt like I was sitting at our neighbor's table, and the stalks weren't cut off the cilantro. But overall, my virgin voyage to BBBK was a magical journey to luchador success. Second trip was not so charmed. I decided to try a couple tacos, as my BF insisted I'd love the potato ones. He went with a potato burrito. The tacos were a disappointment. I might have gotten someone else's food as neither appeared to be what I ordered, but it was hard to tell amongst all the lettuce and tomatoes (ie cheap filler). I don't think there was a single potato in either one and they were structurally unsound. Plus I was hungry just a couple hours later. I tried my BF's burrito so I could experience the potatoes, and thought it was just OK. Ultimately I decided I prefer the burritos, while he finds the tacos vastly superior. To each his own. In addition to my mediocre tacos, I was appalled that a man working here had hair (dreads?) down to his butt, swaying freely in the wind, and potentially into someone's food. I don't know what sorta hairnet would conquer that mane but I'm pretty sure there are laws against that. It was gross. In spite of my mixed experiences, I'll give BBBK the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. If I still lived on the Hill this place would definitely be in my regular rotation. It's cheap, the menu is short and sweet, it's got fun decorations, I like the Cha Cha downstairs, and I've finally found a decent burrito! Orale!

Love the decor! It's so fun! My favorite is the sign near the front door.... right on!!!! We did a little day drinking there on Saturday afternoon. We were out bumming and I needed a drink and snack. It was LOUD....OMG so loud.... it took a minute to get used to. I was a little cranky that I had to say "huh" to the bartender 3 time before I got she was asking to see my ID. But whatevs.... First I tried the Sangria Margarita - it was definitely different. It wasn't good, but wasn't bad. It was OK... so I switched to the house after that. Pretty good, but after a total of 3 drinks my stomach was starting to hurt. I wasn't shocked as a.) I knew it was well and b.) sour mix does that to me anyways. We ordered a small beans & guac nacho and a pork quesadilla. Both were tasty, and I felt it was a lot of food. I loved the vibe, and will definitely be back!

I've always loved their burritos and still do. I feel like it's more of a twentysomething hang out. Being in my mid30s it's some place I'd visit every now and then. But like I said I still enjoy their burritos. *On my last visit I saw a family get drug in there by their 19 year old college kid. They looked so uncomfortable. He wanted to show and tell. Very cute....

My mom and I were walkin around on Capitol Hill when she decided that she really really wanted Mexican food. Being the Yelp addict that I am, I said that I knew OF mexican places...but I had no idea if any of them were legit since I had no access to Yelp (WHYYY can I not afford an iPhone?! a cruel fate for an Apple addict/luster). But I'd heard to Bimbo's Bitchin Burritos time and time again, ever since they were still the pink, very gaudily decorated place down on Pine Street. So we took the plunge. And...meh. Meh meh meh. The first thing I saw was the sign on the door that said "If you are: racist, sexist, homophobic, or an ASSHOLE, don't come in!" and I was like awesomeee. But when my mom and I went in, the waittress looked right at us but walked past us to serve another table without even saying "hi" or "I'll seat you in a minute". Perhaps she was just a rude person, in which case, she would be an asshole who shouldn't be working in there. But she was quite friendly to the table she was serving so it was hard not to feel like she wasn't being racist. The service continued to be mediocre and words were kept to a minimum even when, at first, I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and be really friendly. The food was only okay: this was the first time in a while I'd ventured away from a taco truck to have Mexican food in a restaurant and as I'd expected, I would have been way better off sticking with the taco truck. The nachos were delicious nachos, but nothing special: it's hard for something to NOT be delicious when it involves chips and melted cheese. I had the No Meato Burrito in a tomato tortilla: it had ingredients that could have tasted stellar with a little more care and seasoning (tomatoes, rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, and a couple other vegetable-y things...I forget) but it was just one huge MEH. My mom had the chicken quesadilla and although I thought the chicken tasted pretty good, she thought it came from a can =/ Plus, for being a QUESAdilla, there was not much quesa. And the hot sauce was NOT HOT. I probably used up about a quarter of the bottle for my burrito, if not more, just to get a little tingle on my tongue. We didnt have drinks...so maybe that's the saving grace of this place. But even if a bar is known more for its drinks than for its food, I expect the food to at least be good or distinctive in some way since I'm paying for it. I doubt I'll be coming here again unless every single other restaurant/bar in the Capitol HIll area spontaneously combusts and Bimbo's is the only one left standing.

I stopped in mid-afternoon on a Friday. There were a couple of outrageous hipsters at the bar wasting money on expensive tequila shots and a couple of those black-painted Bettie Page wannabe broads peering out from the shadows with that characteristic admixture of self-importance, self-loathing and self-pity. The bartender looked at me in wide-eyed wonder (wearing as I was no black, no leather, no buckles, no ironic 80s apparel), then handed over the menu. After entering this bizarre tableau, everything went exactly as I wanted/expected it to. I was brought a glass of icewater as I asked and ordered the food I wanted (big-ass vegetarian burrito for $8.95), which was delivered in moments and was delicious. The bill was accurately calculated and promptly paid, accompanied by a generous tip. The place is like an episode of the Twilight Zone. I expected to be dragged into the back and murdered by the goth dames. I escaped with my life, and a well-filled belly. I'll go back, and maybe I'll update this review to five stars if I don't have to endure the stares of the vampirettes in the peanut gallery next time.

Sure, service could have been better. I'm so used to holier-than-thou-hipster servers in Portland that this act doesn't phase me anymore. Kinda sad. However, as long as the margaritas are strong and cold, the burritos spicy and hot, and the salsa fresh and tasty, I can handle a little attitude and lack of attention from the wait staff. Plus, a wall-full of luchadors is rad. I'm easy to please when hungry.

Congrats to Bimbo's for serving what might possibly be the worst meal I have ever had! My friend took 2 bites of her torta and wanted to cry. At least they only charge $1 for the chips from cash n carry. No amount of margaritas will make this food edible.

Went once with high hopes.. service was poor, and food was boring. Tried one more time thinking it was an off day, even worse. Call their number and see how they talk to you, and you will understand. Just an overall unpleasant place.

This place seems like the definition of three stars to me. Nothing special but not a let down either. I met friends here for drinks after I already had eaten so I can't speak to the quality of the food other than to say that the idea of using Doritos for nachos is a pretty brilliant idea. My friends seemed to enjoy their food so take that for what it's worth, I just had a couple Dos Equis. Our server was sufficiently nice and attentive; she actually split the bill for us without needing to be asked, which was nice. Sounds like service is kind of hit or miss sometimes but we lucked out apparently. I would go back again but I've also been told by friends that there is better Mexican to be had at other locations on Cap Hill so maybe not.

"Blue Panter" is my favorite - though I spent a long time in the bathroom looking at the walls, deciding. I dig this place. I really like the interior, with the crazy curtains, luchadores everywhere, a thousand bottle caps nailed to the walls in creative ways, red light bulbs, etc. etc. etc. Very colorful - maybe not authentic Mexican, as is the case with the food, but that doesn't make either less enjoyable. It's very centrally located in Cap Hill, so it makes a convenient and quick dinner/study break from Caffe Vita et al. for me, but could also be a good way to manage blood alcohol content for others. Happy hour food-wise is $1 off large nachos (not all that great, obviously) and sometimes a daily thing, but it's not all that expensive anyway, and it's a lot of food. Good taste in music, too. Devotchka, Silversun Pickups, I'm down.

Fun area to play, with an interesting crowd. Loud, funky, punky. Food that will do in a pinch (perfect if you've already been drinking). Drinks that will make you not care about the food. S'alright in my books for a wild Friday night.

I am one who normally loves to go here any night of the week. The last time I went here was for a birthday party for a friend from work. We had some people who have never been. A good friend ordered 14 shots. The bartender pourded them and told my friend the total. He pays and tips. This goes on for three rounds. The last round the bartended tells my friend he doesn't know how to tip. To take his East coast bro self back to the East coast. We decided to take our money to another bar. Sorry my friend is not hipster enough for your scene bartenders. A tip is a tip. You earn your tip by being nice and doing you damn job that you chose to do. Maybe he would have tipped more if you put the shots on the actual tray. Hey by the way just because my friend happened to have a Yankee hat doesn't mean he is from the East coast. He is from France. Thanks for being an asshole bartender. I tell everyone I work with and all my friend who go there. They agree to never go again. Take your hipster bro self back to college if you don't want to live off tips. I am a barista I never complain about tips, I am grateful.

The place I went into was called Bimbo's Cantina. Maybe this is the same place. So I'm writing the review. Not sure how I got there. Maybe I'll never go back. But I experienced life during the longest happy hour in the world. Everyday from 4pm to 8pm. Then like all day Sunday and Monday. The bean burrito was decent, stuffed with creamy beans & cheese. My chips & salsa were worth the buck. And the sangria really sucked! Can't complain because the price was right. Music with decor transported me into another dimension. And well, I survived dining alone in a dive!

Great happy hour drink specials. Mediocre food at best. I read reviews here before dining there with a friend. Several people said they found hair in their meals. My experience was no different. I found hair in two dishes my friend and I were served. The decor inside is that of a small pub dressed up with luche libre memorabilia and bottle cap mosaics. Good place for a drink with friends. Eat elsewhere.

I had the carnitas and chicken tacos, they were quite filling for under 6 bucks. I enjoyed their version of the taco, with diced tomatoes and whole leaf lettuce, just make sure to choose the right hot sauce from their wall o' sauces. The staff was very friendly, food was good and well priced, I'll be back to try some drinks.

I love eating here for lunch and happy hour. For lunch, you can order a wet burrito and PBR or soda for a pretty good price. When I come here for happy hour, you can find me grubbin on a beef double decker taco, a bucket of chips and guacamole. The double deckers are pretty filling and I learned it the hard way the first time, where I ordered two of them. Oh and they're $2.50 during happy hour as well. Not bad at all!

Sunday is a good day for marg'ing, and Bimbo's is a good place to do it. The grande margarita is a giant mason jar of all the good shit you need and a couple of those puts me in a rosy frame of mind. Like, fill me up with those if you want to ask me a big favor, 'cause I'll be way too pleased to say no. Corinna, can you chauffeur me to Eugene tomorrow? Sure! Corinna, will you help me turn these moose antlers into a chair? Of course! Corinna, will you help me bury this..um...rolled up rug? Absolutely. Such is the power of the grande.

I almost don't want to review this place because it forces me to remember the awful experiences I've had. If you want a place with cheap, mediocre food (mediocre is being nice) and don't really care about poor service, then you'd probably enjoy this place. I don't mean to sound like a snob but the atmosphere here is...well...not for everyone. You definitely wouldn't take your mother here. This place is very hipster and seems kinda dirty.

I'm not one that goes and searched for tacos and then reviews them - but if I were - I would say this was one of the best tacos I've ever had! I tried the herb roasted chicken taco - amazing! The only thing I would add is more salsa, but that's just a preferance The margs were great too! Kind of a small joint (as far as I saw) so it's not great for a crowd - but you can always go downstairs to the cha cha (not sure if you can still order the tacos?)

Loved this place when it was on Pine. Since moving it seems to have lost a step. The funky deco is still going on and they've still got the Down Home Burrito (my favorite), but everything is just a little bit blander. Still, unique burritos and decent prices will bring me back...I'll just have slightly lower expectations.

I do love me some Bimbo's food. The portions are big, the prices are cheap and there is always something interesting to see on the wall. If I'm not downstairs at the Cha Cha having a super time, I'm eating stuffing my face upstairs on their yummy food. Good, good times.

Bimbo's Bitchin Burrito Kitchen. I enjoy saying that too much. Eh, it's fun and affordable. My friend and I ordered two chicken quesadillas (yay, cheese), a margarita and a gin and tonic and paid around $25. And if there's a lull in the conversation you can always talk about Mexican wrestling?

Great happy hour that starts early. Its a great place to skip out on work on a friday afternoon and grab a beer and burrito with some work friends. Very cheap! Not for sure on their happy hour, but i think it starts at 3p & has a burrito and a beer for around $5. Bonus: Great for people watching! They get them all!

  • Amanda L.

Am I the best person to review this? No. Why? Because I only eat their black bean and guacamole nachos about once a week... nothing else on the menu. The nachos are that good. I'm not even tempted to order anything else. Cover them in some Tapatio and you have the best "Mexican" you can get on Capitol Hill (I use the word Mexican lightly due to the severe lack of ACTUAL Mexican food in the city of Seattle). The only reason I took off a star is because I made the mistake of ordering a margarita once. It was fucking horrible. Just avoid the margaritas. Stick with beer and nachos and you'll see why so many people love the place.

Luchadors, cheap beer and a photobooth. That says it all. Drink here on a Sunday night when it's still surprisingly busy and make sure to get some pictures of your public drunkenness.

This place BLOWS. And it's the staff that make it so. Obnoxious hipsters that will avoid having anything to do with you. Do the rest of the world a favor and help this place go out of business.

  • C F.

Cheesy hipster decor, clientele, and staff. Mediocre, bland food. Expect an attitude from your server somewhere between lackadaisical at best and resentful at worst. Sometimes I wonder if all the customers and staff decided in advance that everyone would show up on fixed-gear bikes, and sporting gauged ears, tattooed arms, and thick-rimmed glasses. I know it's hard to believe, but I'm pretty sure this conformity is just a huge coincidence.

I have fond memories of the old smoky Cha Cha that used to exist a bit further down the hill. It is now the site of the "Cha Cha Memorial Parking Lot." Anyway, this place is really two places I think... Bimbos upstairs and Cha Cha downstairs. Upstairs is where the food is, and downstairs is where most of the heavy drinking and poor decision-making takes place. My brother and another relative were visiting from NYC. We witnessed a fight between two skinny hipsters (over a moderately cute girl) and somehow both of them managed to lose that fight. It's REALLY LOUD THERE. It gets very crowded on weekend nights. The burritos are pretty tasty. Sorry this review isn't more helpful.

Love the name. Love the food and prices. The chicken soft taco was awesome and my friend really liked his massive spicy burrito. The only complaint, no ice in the Sangria. Not that I really mind, more alcohol for us :) , just a bit strange. The service is speedy and the tattooed hipster folks that come here seem to let loose a lot more then other restaurants/bars in Seattle, makes you feel like you're in the east village of New York.

Hells yeah! Bimbo's Bitchin Burritos are totally bitchin! My friends and I went to Bimbo's last Monday to celebrate a friend's b-day. We found that the upstairs was packed at 7:30p (probably b/c they have happy hour all day on Mondays), so we walked downstairs to Cha Cha's lounge to enjoy our burritos. No table service at Cha Cha's, but you can place your Bitchin Burrito order at the bar and they will be kind enough to bring your food to your table. Everything about Bimbo's and ChaCha's is bitchin! Cha Cha's atmosphere is divey, dark, and funky. Margaritas are really decent for a $3.50 happy hour special. We all shared the Stoner Nachos, which come with Cool Ranch Doritos instead of regular nacho chips. OMG, it was a junk food fantasy that was oh so beautiful and amazing. We did not leave a crumb behind. We then all had burritos and they were so to die for. Definitely bitchin! The best part is you can get a burrito with a wheat tortilla. That's super cool! I ate 1/2 of it and that burrito was still totally bitchin the next day for lunch as well. Our bartenders were totally bitchin too. Cha Cha's/Bimbo's is the bomb. We had a bitchin time and will be definitely be going back for some cheap bitchin eats and drinks, especially during their bitchin all day Monday happy hour! Totally cheap, totally fun, totally bitchin!

We were in the mood for some cheap (but quality) mexican food. The upstairs was full so the door guy said we could order food downstairs. Hmm...I've had plenty of drinks down there but have never seen anyone eating...but we headed down anyways. The room was about half full and we sat down at a booth. After realizing for about 5 minutes that we need to order at the bar we got up to do so. We ordered 2 margaritas, the bartender then proceeded to help 3 other people before making our drinks. He made them, apologized for the wait and I asked if we could order food from him. His words- "Well...you can if you want but the kitchen is really backed up." Really? No thanks, we will take our drinks (which were pretty tasty and strong) and go. Who in their right mind turns away business? I get (but don't care for) the aloof, I'm too cool for school bartender mentality that plagues many Seattle bars but all we wanted was a damn burrito! So point taken, don't go for the food but the drinks (even after being blown off for some othe patrons) were nice and strong.

My work has Bimbo Fridays where for lunch we'll all indulge in Bimbo's delicious burritos! The atmosphere is super fun even though tiny. But the food is yummy! I've had a a couple of their burritos and they are very tasty and filling! I've also had happy hour here and had their chicken nachos! SO good!!! We ate the whole plate - we however ordered the half size for two females and that was already a lot for us! Everything has always tasted fresh and has made me happy each time! Plus don't forget a can of tecate! ;)

So. Bimbo's. What is there to say here? The sangria is good, they'll make your margarita slushy-style (just ask for an extra shot - the ice waters down the booze), and there are burritos. Not a great selection of burritos, but they're big. And good. Last outing to Bimbo's, I finally tried the nachos. I backed down from the Stoner Nachos (made with Doritos, because *of course they are*), but that is happening next time. The nachos were really, really good. Granted, I have low nacho standards, but still - good. The only minus to a quick lunch/dinner/drunk-snack at Bimbo's is their infestation: the hipsters. Mustaches and Peggy Hill glasses are de rigeur, along with Gunne Sax dresses. I hate hipsters, but I love nachos. And tequila. It's a trade-off you make to eat at Bimbo's.

Thinking a burrito or some yummy tacos would help with my hangover, I went to Bimbos and was greatly disappointed. It took 10 minutes before anyone noticed us, and 15 before we got water. I ordered a fish taco and a chicken taco. Definitely not that great, but I was starving. When I was almost done finishing my dry chicken taco, I noticed a creepy black BUG IN MY FOOD! Gross! There coulda been a whole bunch in there, but I thought it was pepper. We notified the waiter who didn't have much of a reaction, and surprisingly didn't even take the taco off our bill. I doubt he even told the cook there was a bug in the chicken, and that batch was even thrown away! So unless you want some extra protein in your food, and people who could care less about what you eat, go ahead and eat at Bimbos. It totally sucks. You can get better food at any taco truck in the city. PS - We also ordered the potatos and they tasted like dirt.

Now called BIMBOS CANTINA! Had a quick lunch on a Sunday. The decor is awesome and I love all the pics of the Luchadores! I felt like I was in some dive bar in Tijuana. Chicken nachos, horchata and chicken burritos were totally awesome! You get so much for your money here folks. The food is fresh and has a ton of flavor and spice, perfect spot for a weekend hangover meal. Service was very solid. I will be back for sure.

I recently moved back to Seattle after being away for two years. My first stop with the wife ( after dropping off our luggage) was Bitchin Burrito and we had and amazing dinner just like we used to have during college. Authentic Mexican it ain't, but the tacos are awesome and CHEAP. Also good happy hour and drinks, and they have a wonderful collection of hot sauces. The service is not the greatest, but for the price I am surprised they don't make me some dishes on top of my bill. I love this place, and will be going back again and again, and again

Awesome atmosphere and really nice, down to earth staff makes this a great place to eat. A nice array of choices in their menu and the burritos actually fills me up! I used to stop by once a week before I had to relocate. Very easy going place and fun with friends. I would recommend this place as a must visit at least once if you're just visiting Seattle or is a local.

It's a divey place filled with the local trendy folk. Their burritos are decent, although I think chipotle may be a little better. However, I can say that have a best nachos in existence. Which is good, because nachos are much more of a party pleaser anyway, when you're out drinking with friends. The best part of it all is you can either order from downstairs at Cha Cha lounge, or you can order upstairs and take it downstairs to eat. Mix it up, switch it up a bit depending on how you're feeling that day. After reading Ranei M's reviews, I'm going to have to try the sangria there as well!

Before I begin, I offer this caveat... When I ate at Bimbo's it was about 3 in the afternoon on a sunny day in Seattle. I was pretty seriously hung over from the night before, and had just seen the US' tragic World Cup elimination. For those of you who have been hungover before, you know that I spent the morning feeling incapable of consuming any sort of food or beverage...but by three in the afternoon, once the advil kicked in, I was starving...and the only acceptable remedy for my hangover hunger was tacos. Since we'd watched the game at the Comet (alongside the most obnoxious douche bags on the planet), we stumbled a block over to Bimbo's. I ordered steak tacos and a side of chips and guacamole. I don't remember what my companion ordered, because my brain was still swimming in Friday night's gin. The place is a tiny little hole in the upstairs portion of the strange, but wonderful, Cha Cha Lounge. The service was O.K., took a little while to get the ball rolling, but the server was at least cordial. The steak tacos were also O.K. I certainly inhaled them in true hangover form, but I found that the chunks of beef were too big and chewy for a hard taco. This led to a messy experience in which I consumed most of the beef separately from the shell and toppings. I would have preferred shredded beef or ground beef, or frankly, Taco Bell. I was, however, very pleased with the guacamole, not as pleased with the salsa...which was a little bland. I can't say whether my companion enjoyed his meal or not. He was rather sauced after our soccer watching experience. But I can say he uttered no complaints and also inhaled his food the way any good drunk would. In summary, Mexican food is ideal for people who are a) drunk, or b) hungover. In either state, one is not exactly a discerning food critic...anything with enough salt and grease will do the trick. In this manner, Bimbo's gets the job done. However, were one to be sober and seeking a more masterful culinary experience, Bimbo's would not be my reccommendation.

Happy hour nacho's are tasty! Happy hour burrito is priced decent enough to buy and tastes better than the burritos in the freezer isle.

Crappy food, the waitstaff are all rude bitches and the customer service is non-existant. Waste of time and money to visit this place. You'll get better food and service at your local Taco Bell.

you go to this place to enjoy the atmosphere of a Mexican cantina strategically located on capitol hill. Food is pretty good and the Margs are also quite tasty. But I just love sitting there at the bar talking to normally a friendly patron or the bar staff. I keep coming back whenever I feel I need to get a touch of Mexico. Love the feel of this place.

Best burrito I've ever had, and I'd like to think of myself as a burrito afficionado!! Found it on Yelp and am I ever glad I checked it out! Pros: (besides the burrito itself) their sign inside says their happy hour lasts all day on Mondays! What better way to add some sunshine to a Seattle Monday than an all day happy hour? Cons: Not a fan of having to pay extra for some ingredients. Flavored sour cream, sub-organic brown rice and guacamole? Sure. But olives, onions and cilantro? C'mon. Anyway, this place is a must-stop and I'll definitely be back!!!

5 Star, one of those great places that I'm glad to have in my city. Good not-quite-healthy food, fairly cheap, the drinks are strong, the service is stellar and the crowd is always jumping and hip. Doesn't hurt that the Cha-Cha lounge downstairs is also comparably awesome, but each venue is equally excellent.

I want so much to like this place. The atmosphere is cool (hole in the wall, funky), and the specials are great. However, this completely slacker, "I can't be bothered" attitude of the staff baffles me every time I'm here. This place needs to move to a self-service model. There could be 3 people in the whole place and the staff would be more interested in how cool their shoes are than bothering to ensure you're served. If they decide to do a renovation, start with staff.

My gf and I came here after living in China for 7 months, craving a decent taco something fierce. We showed up at 2for1 margarita time, which were large, if unremarkable. What was remarkable was the fish taco. Some of the best I've had. The other tacos were fine but nothing special. Good prices, good vibe.

Food is incredible (minus 1 hair, and a wrong order). Everything else is a little too grunge-snob for me. Word to the wise--respect gets respect. We did not complain about the hair or wrong order because we were afraid.

1st and last visit. The Bimbo's "quesadilla" is a flour tortilla sprinkled with cheese, folded in half and microwaved. The salsa was flavorless. The 32oz margarita might of had some tequila in it somewhere, I couldn't tell.

Cheap happy hour and Stoner Nachos made with Doritos instead of regular tortilla chips. Why wouldn't you go here?

I was in Seattle recently and got to Bimbo's twice. Both times there was immediate seating and the blended margaritas were fantastic. Perfect place to go on a hot afternoon. The decor (Mexican folk religious art and Pro Wrestling imagery) will distract you from the menu. I ordered the mini pork nachos ($3) and rice and beans the first time, and chips and salsa and the cheese quesadilla the second. I would say the food and chips were average at best. Go for the drinks and the environment.

Our waitress was a total biz-atch! I went to Bimbo's last night(fri 4-10) with some friends for food and drink and we had a good time but the waitress was freakin' rude the whole night and when it came time for the bill, she just slapped the bill down and walked away...no thank you or anything. Our jaw pretty much hit the floor every time she came over to the table to display some more rudeness. Maybe the other staff is friendly...I dunno...I haven't been there since they changed locations You would think businesses would be really appreciative of our dollar in this economy but I guess not...anyways, enough about that. I will say the scene was really cool. They were blasting old Soundgarden which sounded killer and there was a lot of energy in the place...so we had fun The food is decent but not bitchin. Since I was out drinking, I didn't want to eat a burrito and have a football in my stomach all nite so I ate the quesadillas which were rather bland. I had their burritos before and they were someone bland as well...they need to season their meat better Anyhow, we would have stayed longer because the atmosphere was good and we were having fun but we decided to go to Barca(one of my favorites) for drinks afterward due to the rude waitress I will go again sometime but if I get the same waitress, her ass is only getting a 10% tip

Bimbo's has always been the same way for years, same food, same hipster attitude from the staff. You cannot get in the door without your ID and you are made to feel like you are a burden. BUT, I know that when I go in there! I LOVE the potato tacos and the cumin-lime sour cream! Delicious!

    (3)
  • Alex G.

I think Bimbo's has a fun atmosphere, a good, albeit younger crowd, good prices and good music. There are some reviews about the music being pretty loud and it, so you have to be in the mood for it. I'm not very impressed by the service. As a matter of fact, I think it's pretty bad. The wait-staff includes mostly pretentious emo kids (in contrast to cool emo kids, there is a difference) that are a bit full of themselves, and I believe it is this that causes them to be so slow. If that's not the reason, the service is still slow, and not that friendly. Sometimes they gang up with the Cha Cha people to swear and harass the customers that don't leave by 1:44 am. The burritos are big but slightly bland, except maybe if they were wet, I haven't had them that way yet. I'll continue to visit occasionally for the atmosphere and beer.

So I have to be a stickler about service again...That's why the 4 stars. The food was DELICIOUS!! I loved my burrito. Yum. Very nostalgic. Reminded me of the time i first ate at Bimbo's when they were down the street. The atmosphere was a little dark and too red (lights) for me...but it was a fun place to be with colleagues. :)

This past winter, I was excited when I found the new Bitchin Burrito location as I have not been there since they moved. I was not at all impressed when I first walked in.. very sterile feeling compared to the old place.. but fun ol music was playing loudly so we were excited it must still be the same? We ordered a pitcher of beer and got some menus.. the surly waitress brought our pitcher, 'slammed it down' followed by the stack of pint glasses, 'slammed those down'. Literally 'dropped' the silverware from above our heads onto the table.. wow, I get so sick n tired of 'hipster servers' that have to cop attitude for no reason other than you came in.. it does not make the place cool, it is just bad service?!? I tried to stay upbeat as I was happy and wanted my funky burrito.. it had been like a year! C finishes his first beer.. gets to the bottom of it.. then we see there were 'shards of glass' in it. He turns a bit green as he pulls a shard off his lip, it DID NOT cut him.. but 'that was close'. I waved the waitress down and said "Wow, oh my god.. he has glass pieces in his pint." I wait for her reply. She says "It happens" and turned and grabbed another glass, I say an "I'm sorry would be nice?." she turns away as if too busy. Here I am in a good mood with some friends I never get to see, the food had just arrived so we eat the cold burritos (sadly the food is not even good here anymore) and I am LIVID but drop it only cause C said he was luckily ok.. But I was haunted that night of a nightmare that could have been, me hauling c to the emergency room to pull glass from his throat or stomache.. all due to the ATTITUDE PROBLEMS of 'bichin burrito waitress' who is causing a DANGEROUS situation! By Monday after telling a few people the story, they suggested I call for the manager. I was told he was on vac.. left message and reason but my call was never returned.. well neither will I or my friends that witnessed this situation! If you go, don't accept slammed pints from staff- (As the bottoms crack into shards-- you careless B%$#!)

The lunch special food + drink for $5.50 is an honest deal. I'm glad that they're in the neighborhood. Word of caution: the music played in this place is weird. I listen to indie-alt rock all of the time, but this is some really strange, left field crap. A table next to me brought up the music with the bartender, and the bartender could care less. The wack-tunes almost sounded like they were turned up a bit louder. Other than that, A-OK.

  • Amie S.

Yes, the service is terrible. The waiters are surly. This is their gimmick, people - it's what Bimbo's is KNOWN for, so you have to expect it. But seriously. You must listen to me. Come here for one reason, and one reason only: burritos with garlic mashed potatoes and cumin-lime sour cream. Trust me. Go get one immediately. It will make all the issues you have with the staff disappear....and the strong booze pours will help too.

Excellent burritos, bad ass happy hour, and great staff. My only problem is Cha Cha downstairs but that area is completely avoidable.

  • Suzanne B.

Didn't eat a burrito, but went downstairs to the Cha-Cha and had a great time. I was drunk, but I do remember low, red lights, big glasses of beer, and lots of trendy, eccentric people. My kinda place. It was super crowded on a Friday night, and me, being the claustrophobic person I am, I got a bit weirded out. The back had a patio for smokers that was a bit too small for the crowd (much like the entire place) and the bathrooms were super gross (but comforting in my divey bar childhood memory way). BUT--the sole reason to come here: THE PHOTOBOOTH! I am kinda obsessed with photobooth photos and out of all the booths in Seattle, Cha-Cha's has the best one! The photos are the best exposed, best developed ones, and they have a very warm feel to them. I wanted to obessively keep feeding ones into the machine to take my (drunken) photo over and over and over again, but I, luckily, had a few couples waiting in line behind me to stop me from hogging the thing. I still have those photos hanging on strips on my wall and in my profile here on Yelp (yep--that one to the left was taken on location). So despite the crowds (which is a turn off for me, agorophobic that I am), and the maze like underground, claustrophobic vibe, the place was totally redeemed for me by the photobooth. Yep yep.

The burritos are okay but not worth the terrible, surly service. There are too many wonderful restaurants in this town for me to go back to a place that has mediocre food and mean waitstaff.

    (1)
  • Patrick M.

My time at Bimbos lasted about 20 minutes. 20 minutes of waiting. For absolutely nothing.... I remember walking in and seating for 4. The people I was with said that the Burritos were great hangover food. I think they just wanted to look hip. I for one, when hungover, do not expect more than a 5 minute wait before a server comes to your table to at least fill water or ask you what you want to drink. I counted 2 people in there before us and the rest of the place was dead. The server only had time to chat up the people at the bar. Needless to say, if I'm going to wait 20 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge me, I'm leaving. No burrito is worth waiting for the hipper than thow to serve you.

It wasn't anything amazing, but for the price it's a definite win! I got a meat burrito "wet-style." ... I suggest not getting it wet-style if you do not like spicy. I did not realize the sauce was as spicy as it was! That made the meal a bit less enjoyable. But, all in all, it was good. I think I'll go for the nachos next time I go back; the guac there is AMAZING! Oh, and the bar has great prices as well!

  • Roxc R.

i'm going to start off by saying the service was soooo down. everyone that works here (and i was there a lot while i was in the northwest) is so friendly and on top of their game. happy hour is the time to be here.. quick snacks and booze for mad cheap! love.

Look, I live in San Francisco. The Mission is where burrito's were invented. Okay, that is not true, actually they were invented in the South Western United States but WHATEVER they were perfected here in SF. So, anyway, we take our burritos pretty (read: too) seriously here in San Francisco. There are debates as to which burrito place in the city is best (people have actually gotten really mad over this, IT'S REALLY DUMB, I KNOW.) So why, you might ask, if I am a San Franciscan and care too much about burritos would I give a four-star review to Bimbo's? Maybe it's because I'm vegan and boring ol' fresh beans, rice, and guac doesn't always do it for me. That's where the Mexican, um, inspired food at Bimbo's comes in. The vegan-o burrito is SO crazy. It has like olives and sunflower seeds in it! And I usually hate extra stuff in my burritos, (what, you think cuz I'm vegan I want freaking CARROTS in there?) but somehow it works REALLY well in the vegan burrito at Bimbo's (maybe it's because what they add - olives and sunflower seeds - have, like FAT in them!) Add some of those yummy sauces on the table on top of that sucker and you got yerself a tasty meal! Plus, add in the fun atmosphere, the sexy servers, and my own good memories, and this place ranks high and happily in my heart. So I guess I'm giving it four stars because of the good times and because I don't really think of burritos at Bimbo's in the same way as I do about burritos in SF. In SF it's about authenticity (or perceived authenticity since burritos didn't originate in Mexico IN CASE YOU FORGOT.) In Seattle, good Mexican food is pretty hard to come by (read: impossible.) So I take the next best thing - food that tastes good and is vaguely evocative of Mexican food. So go ahead and put olives and sunflowers in my vegan burrito. Goddam it's tasty. Oh, and toss me a brew while you're at it.

They should be named "Bimbo's Bitchy Burrito Kitchen" Their kitchen closes at "midnight." When a place sets hours, I pretty much assume that they, you know, keep those hours, within reason. Not Bimbo's. I got there at 11:35, and asked what time their kitchen closed--midnight. Great! However, when I tried to order, the waitress actually said "I think they're closing the kitchen. You don't want to be THAT jerk, do you?"

What happened in the move? I used to enjoy the burritos and this was my first time back since they moved up to the new location. The burritos were very bland and the service was slowwww. Looks like a great place to grab drinks but I'm not coming back here if I am hungry.

Great food. Of course it's not authentic Mexican food, this is America! But it is super satisfying cheesy comfort food. The peppered chicken nachos are awesome. As are the roasted potato tacos! The service is pretty terrible, but that's what you get for going to a hipster bar.

  • Steven B.

i have been here a few times, the food is okay, but then I'm not a burrito fan. I ordered a pork quesadilla. I got a burrito stuffed with rice and beans. When I told the waiter (the only bar and food waiter for the entire top area on a busy saturday night), he tried to tell me they didn't have quesadillas on the menu. Or pork for that matter. He refused to get me what I ordered off the menu, and I was charged more for the over priced medium sized burrito. There appeared to be a tiny amount of pork in it, but it might have been chicken instead. This is a level of lying and disservice that doesn't even merit a single star.

Aside from the waitress who got mad at a customer and posted his info on the internet, my comment here on Yelp was removed. I recounted my own experience of this restaurant, but what I got was an email from some lunatic here (probably works for the company or THAT waitress), angry and accusing me of not even having gone to this restaurant. Service sucks, food sucks and you always have to pay cash due to fear of having your credit card info hacked.

This bar is excellent! if you are out and about on lets say a Monday night.... the weekends are packed, but the whole is hill is packed for that matter. The photo booth is good, and the drinks are strong. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you are in the mood for Mexican food. They have a good happy hour too.

I don't care what the others say, these kids always deliver a delicious plate of nachos. And they treat me really well, every time! I call and place my order, 5 minutes later it's there ready and waiting.

  • Aaron W.

Are you vegetarian or vegan? Does thinking of nachos make you feel uncomfortably aroused? Have you ever thought, "This taco is great, but it could sure be wrapped up in another taco to seal the deal!"? Well, my friend, Bimbo's is going to ruin your life forever. Sure, Georgetown Liquor's got great vegan nachos. Can you walk there? Nope! Do they got double decker potato tacos? Nope! Friends, give Bimbo's a try. Sometimes it doesn't quite work out as tastily as other times, so give it a second try. At some point, you will be served something delicious. If it's happy hour, and you're in the Pike/Pine corridor, you pretty much have to get a couple double decker tacos. It's a steal. My strategy? Order the guacamole and beans nachos with all the fixin's, added jalapeños, and vegan cheese and beef, and smother it in hot sauce (Tapatio is a wise choice). You will not be disappointed! Oh, and make sure to wash it down with a nice Negra Modelo with lime. Mmm, boy!

I actually love the basement of this place. I usually only go for drinks but this weekend actually tried the food with a few friends. I'm usually a little hesitant to eat in the dark (lol) but we were there long enough and I got hungry. A friend had the fish taco, another had the chicken burrito and I got the pork verde and everything was decent. I probably wouldn't order to pork verde (too goopy from a texture stand point). However, my friend had the chicken burrito and it was really good as were the fish tacos. No chips and salsa brought out like I would have expected but overall, I like the place and will probably eat again (rather than only drinking). I'm not a smoker but I do love the little smoker section out back that is gated in and kind of looks like an alley in a music video.

Was recommended this place by a friend when we were in town. I was not disappointed. From the kitschy decor, cheap booze and 'Mexican' food - I fell in love. The wait staff was extremely apathetic... usually this would bug me, but since I was there with good friends I didn't care. They did a good job at bringing our food out and making sure we had drinks, but they never checked on us... we had such a good night it didn't matter. If I was in Seattle again... I would go back again!

There are many things about Bimbo's that are awesome, including the Shelves o' Hot Sauce, fun decor from floor to ceiling, Happy Hour discounts on food and drinks, good tunes, and it's quick. But, turns out, the food isn't very good. Fast, yes. Quality, no. And it really burns me up when I get crappy food. Despite that, it's an a-ok place for pre-Cha Cha'ing downstairs, when you've got to get some tortilla-enveloped sustenance in yer belly pre-boozin'. And you can do it on the cheap. Bonus points for a bucket of mini Pacificos on the HH menu. Not that I'm super into Pacifico, but I'm a sucker for a tiny version of just about anything. I regularly buy the tiny Tabascos from Cost Plus, when I know those two-drop bottles cost 20 times more per ounce than just buying regular sized. Service was basically non-existent excepting the order-taking and dropping off the check way before we were done, which led to a WTF? moment when we realized they'd tacked on 18% auto-grat for a party of five. Really? FIVE? Sorry, auto-gratuity should start at six, unless for some reason it's really necessary and should be pointed out on the menu. Oh, yeah and it's a BURRITO place, not some fancy pants restaurant where that kind of thing is more expected. Not sure if they do that so they don't have to give good service and don't care or what. Even with the crappy service, we probably still would have tipped 25%, because that's how we roll. But the auto-grat combined with the 'tude led us to only leave the 18% they'd added, 'cause it rubbed us the wrong way. Oh, well. It was still fun, and I'd go again for drinks, but not my first choice for a meal in the area. I do love saying "Bimbo", though. Almost as much as I like saying "hussy".

I'm in the middle on Bimbo's. I've had great service and not so great service. Since I'm not a regular I understand I won't get fantastic service every time, but there has been a few times where I've waited for over 10 to 15 minutes to even get service. I have had great experiences though. I love the drinks (reasonably priced in my opinion), same with the food. The food is pretty good for Americanized Mexican food. Bimbo's isn't traditional Mexican food and people seem to forget this. My one wish is the service would be more consistent. I feel this is the one let down here. Also not a super major point but if the booths would have more room that would be great. One member in my group isn't on the super skinny side and could not sit in the booth due to lack of room. This can be a problem for some. Lastly, this isn't a complaint about Bimbo's (not reflected in my rating, just a general comment) but all Capitol Hill restaurants in general. It would be great to have cold water served at a table instead of really warm water that feels like it has sat out for days. I don't know why the water has to be constantly warm.

Nom nom nom nom. So after my girlfriend got her new tattoo next door at Supergenius we were starved and headed for some burritos and a margarita. The burritos were really good, as was the chips and salsa and the margarita was super strong. Such a good late lunch - I will have to come back to try some other offerings soon.

I'm a fan of the downstairs bar, but apparently that deserves a 2nd review at a later point. Recently visited and had some food. Glad to see they have a variety of vegan options. Also surprised to find that they have happy hour from 4-8 pm every day of the week. Its so rare to find place you can get some cheaper drinks on a Friday or Saturday night. I enjoyed quite a few margaritas. Next time I will have to take advantage of some of the food specials. Many of the drinks on the drink menu sounded enticing as well. Service was excellent and it wasn't even hard to find a place to sit. Whenever I walk by this place looks very crowded but perhaps the tables hidden out of view are empty. There is lots of stuff to look at on the walls here, its quite decorative. I would definitely come here more often if parking was easier. Its a good place to get a meal before a night of drinking on the hill.

Long day. Michael the bartender was very cool. We talked for awhile, generous tequila shots for under $5, and whoever was picking the music played Aerosmith 'Rocks' from beginning to end. I know to most young ppl Aerosmith sucks and they have for about 25 years but 40 years ago, they rocked!

Margarita time at Bimbo's!!! I enjoy their happy hour margaritas or sharing a pitcher (of beer) with some friends. Good times! The servers have been friendly enough, but nothing has really stood out when it comes to service. Hungry for tacos? They've got 'em on special during happy hour! I wasn't a big fan of the fish tacos and I found the potato taco texture to be very strange because I expect taco fillings to not be so... mashed... but, they were both filling. They just kind of made me wish I wasn't trying to limit my meat consumption to just the times when I really crave it or when it's a special treat (ie: to-die-for steak, raw venison poke, etc). Their meat tacos are probably tasty... but not my idea of a special treat. The photo booth downstairs is... something else. The photos take way long to print and the booth was full of what I think were FRUIT FLIES.... but, we got at least a couple of good photos before getting the hell out of that booth! I think next time I'll skip the food, and go straight for the booze!

First of all the music always rocks here :) I'm a big fun !!! the place itself is not your conventional bar,it has sombreros and Mexican wrestling masks how cool is that? Sundays and Mondays happy hour all day :) I like this place because everybody is so chill, although sometimes Im dressing a little more than the rest they accept me haha ipb

If I had a dollar for every time I said " I am so happy ", " This is just what I wanted ", " Holy shit this is good " while I was sitting down to dinner here it would've paid for my meal. I ordered just a plain burrito, and a sangria. I love that the tortilla was grilled, I have had way to many burritos fall apart of me lately. The crunchiness and warmth was an added bonus. My dinning associate ordered a double decker taco, a taco wrapped in a soft tortilla secured lovingly together with beans. The waitress confessed to us that it was an item stolen from the Taco Bell menu, one I remember fondly might I add. I stole a bite and was pleased to see that bimbos has taken it to the next level. Despite obvious popularity of the joint, our food was zipped out to us. Our waitress admitted to forgetting about our table post food so our service was a miss, but I appreciate the honesty.

Pictures of masked lucha libre wrestlers line the walls. The happy hour here is later than most places in the area, and you won't be disappointed by their tacos and nachos. Don't come for polite service, clean restrooms, or abundant seating. Leave your expectations at the door. I love coming to Bimbos for the yummy inexpensive food, entertaining decor, and relaxed environment. It's an iconic Capital Hill bar and will be here for years to come. Enjoy it!

While visiting my cousin on Capitol Hill, he decided to take us for some 'gritty Mexican food'. It's a small place, but we didn't have trouble jumping into a booth right away. Cousin suggested the double decker tacos, so that's what we ordered. Tall Boy Tacates were $2 and the tacos were cheap too, and delicious.

Went here for happy hour with a group of friends on a Sunday since it lasted all day. The deals are OK I suppose, but not a huge savings. Tacos are only something like 45 cents cheaper. I got 3 tacos - 1 chicken, 1 pork, 1 fish , all on soft corn tortillas. The chicken and fish were completely bland and flavorless. The pork, however, was actually pretty tasty and had quite a bit of flavor. If I were basing it on food alone I'd probably give this place a 3. The reason I knocked my rating down to a 2 star is because of the drinks. Our group also ordered a carafe of sangria. It was the most flavorless drink I've ever had! It wasn't even like fruity water - just a watery purple liquid with an alcohol aftertaste. What an utter disappointment. Decor is interesting. The walls are plastered with pictures of Mexican wrestlers. Not a lot of space, but a cute small spot to drop by with friends. Overall I don't think I'd come again. There are much better places in Cap Hill to go to.

This place is super rad for vegans and people with vegan friends. They have Follow Your Heart vegan cheese, and their beans and rices are all vegan. And they make great Beer Margaritas. Seriously. I'll be back once per week all summer long. Here is some more info on their vegan nachos: veganscore.com/2010/05/v…

I tried their burrito was okay. Nothing special. The service is decent, but the place just does not look clean to me. Just not appetizing to dine at a restaurant with dirty floor.

Worst place I've ever been to. Food was cold and management didn't even care. I will never be returning EVER. Plus my friend found hair in her food. So gross.

This isn't a restaurant or a bar. This is a college apartment belonging to someone who is obsessed with mexican wrestler masks, angst-filled teenage punk music, corny mexican decorations and bottle caps, that just happens to serve alcohol and food. My girlfriend and I went here on a Sunday, thinking it was the Cha Cha Lounge (it's downstairs, but we didn't see any obvious sign of this). I honestly thought the "Bimbo" references in the bar was a salsa brand. This was our mistake. The margaritas we ordered was from a premixed liquid (blah) and despite it being happy hour, we were charged full price for them. The burritos were tasty, but small for $7.95 each. Fair selection of local microbrew beers though. The surly attitude from the staff is definitely an act. They seemed like genuinely nice people who were told to act like they don't give a crap, like it's what the tourists want or ironically to fit in with the neighbourhood?

When I lived in Seattle, I probably ate at Bimbo's once a week. Their veggie burritos are the best I've ever had. Potatoes, creamy dressing, sunflower seeds? It's amazing. I've never found anything like it outside of Seattle. The kitchen is now a cantina -- in Seattle, you can't serve liquor unless you serve food -- so you can get a margarita with your Mexican. I agree with other reviewers that the service is generally a bit slow and chaotic, the servers can be snotty yes, but the to go service is great. If you're in a hurry, order to go. Otherwise, sit down, enjoy the outrageous decor (it's like one of those kiddie rides at Disneyland, all neon velvet paintings and gaudy decorations), order a pitcher of margaritas and relax. The food is good and you won't be disappointed.

Bimbo's is a cool little spot! I love stopping by there with friends to grab some food, drinks, or some awesome Sangria! Their burritos are amazing, tasty, and a great size! I am a huge sauce fiend, especially hot sauce, which they definitely do not lack. They have a whole two shelves for you to choose some sauce! That's pretty awesome-sauce-tastic if you ask me. They have good drink specials on happy hour, great margaritas, and awesome sangria! The atmosphere is also really fun! Worth checking this place out! Also, if you come later and want to keep the party going, the ChaCha is downstairs. Fun spot!

Damnit. Missed the happy hour - as my previous meeting with the boyfriend of a mentee went a little long... Drinks = strong. Or at least my cosmo (on the rocks) felt very strong - think it was cuz I forgot to ask for my usual vodka and ended up with a well (crap!). Spicy Burrito - my brother gave it a two thumbs up. He wolfed it down (and he likes his food VERY spicy). Roasted chicken quesadilla - okay. Cheesy. Salsa nice and spicy. Tho, no sour cream!?!? I was slightly sad about that. The place was packed with women too (these are the kinds of things I always notice) - guess BBBK is the place to meet up with your girlfriends! Quirky decor. Bartender friendly. Girls lined up at the bar drinking (my bro thought they were cute). Definitely good place for happy hour or hanging out for sure.

All i have to say is that last night I had a pretty bad experience at Bimbos and it will discourage me from going in the future. I've lived on the Hill for five years now and although I will no longer step foot in the Cha Cha Lounge, I loved going to Bimbos for tacos and drinks until a friend and I waited 20 minutes for both the bar tender and waitress to acknowledge our presence (they would look us in the eye, but not come over to take our order or budge in any way, and instead go to the front door and stand there like an idiot looking outside, and there were only 3 other tables being occupied at the time) until we just got up and left. As we left the waitress (get over yourself, you work at the cha cha) looked at us and said nothing. This follows a previous experience when the bimbos bartender was seriously fucked up drunk or on drugs and took him half an hour to slam down two cans of Ranier on the bar. You want decent mexican food and drinks to hold you down? Bimbos is cool for that. But do not expect any type of decent service.

Super tasty place with a phenomenal lunch special ( burrito + PBR for 6 bucks, hell yeah). I love the decor and ambience of the whole place. Really chill servers, delicious cocktails too ( cilantro tequila gimlet). Grab lunch here, its killer.

If your a fan of Cha-Cha's downstairs, then I don't see how you cannot be a fan of Bimbos. Don't expect anything fancy. Bimbo's is in the biz of servicing of some spicy burritos with a few kicks of Day of the Dead decor. Quick, cheap, but not definatly not dirty. This places hits the spot if your lookin to people watch and get some quick mexi-eats. Also try to hit up Cha-Cha's below for an eclectic mix hipster and hipster-wannabes.

Me: Is your lemonade like Minute Maid lemonade or homemade? Server: Whatever it is, it's not good. Me: Alrighty then, water for me. Thanks. I appreciate the honesty. I also appreciate the fact that the food here is surprisingly affordable for being in Capitol Hill since everything is under $10. I got the Chicken Nachos and it was yummy -- I loved the shredded chicken and the peppers actually packed a really good punch to my taste buds. And the best part? THEY HAVE SOY CHEESE.

Solid three stars. The bucket o chips and salsa really didn't do it for me, but at HH, it's only a buck. The chips were just too thick and from a bag, although I appreciate that they were heated. The salsa was too small of a portion for all the chips, but it was also very garlicky so I didn't need much more. I did love my strawberry margarita though. The strawberry was from one of those granita machines and it came with a fancy cherry-lime-pineapple garnish. I can't imagine going back for Seattle Mexican food, but I will definitely be back for more margaritas.

I'd walked by Bimbo's a number of times and always admired the 'no's list on the door but never ventured in. A group of us came here post-Death Race and took over one corner of the cantina. Our server did a reasonably admirable job considering that we were a big group of a dozen or so, and there were several other tables. She seemed to be holding down the fort on her own, because I never saw anyone else pitch in. And she was great about cashing everyone's order out individually as we left, so a bonus star for that. My margarita was strong, but tasty and the 'down home' burrito was surprisingly good. I always am a bit concerned about eating in places where the focus is (rightly) on the booze, but I thought the burrito was quite good, if bland. Happily, there were a number of hot sauces available on the tables to remedy the bland-ness. I also thought the sangria was pretty good, although being my first time tasting sangria, I'm hardly an expert. All in all, a decent place to pay a visit if you're in the mood for some Mexican and/or stiff drinks. All day happy hour on Sunday (and Monday, I think?) was a nice bonus.

Oh, my beef double-decker tacos. How I love thee. Everything is kinda "meh", but man. The taste and value of these bad boys during the $5.50 lunch special is the jam. Also, really great wait staff and bar tenders. I've "heard" some horror stories, but I've honestly never experienced anything of the sort. Also, guessing all the single-star reviewers are expecting some sort of amazing and unique mexican food experience. This is a bar that serves bar food. Stop pretending it's not. It's great when you finally figure that out.

So Bimbo's was a pit stop on our walk around Seattle. Mainly cause I had to go use the restroom. It caught my eye because of the luchadore masks in the window. So went in, got a drink, used the restroom. AWESOME restroom by the way. Its a small place, but everyone's super nice. The atmosphere was so relaxed, the music was fun and couldn't help but linger there longer. Just a beer and bathroom break turned into 4 beers and lots of chips and guacamole. So tasty. There was something on the beer menu that was pretty good. I think it was a porter. But good beer, and the food looked and smelled awesome. Didnt get a chance to eat here because we were having dinner elsewhere.

This place is pretty cool. I hung out there yesterday and had some drinks and chow with friends. I had the chicken tacos w/cabbage which were pretty freakin awesome. I would say that the Mexican rice was a little dry, but i can over look that. My friends had the nachos which were good. Spicy but tasty. They had a decent happy hour but one of the best things about this spot was the random 80's new wave music. It took me back to my youth...haha .That was a nice surprise and they also have a nice size room downstairs. I would recommend this joint to friends....and you :~)

Always good drinks and burritos! On the busy nights the key is to go upstairs for drinks/food.

Frozen margaritas! Big fat burritos that even my Mexican-food hating boyfriend will eat!! Perfectly seasoned guacamole!!! Killer happy hour!!!! Bimbo's, I'll be back in daytime hours but I know better than to set foot through your door once darkness has fallen (and the hordes have descended.)

I loved Bimbos' when it was in it's old location... dingy dirty and amazing... the bathroom was painted all in neon with black lights, there was stuff under the glass on the tables and all sorts of pretty lights on the walls. The new bimbos is cool but no where near as cool as the first one, but it will do. On the other hand the food is still pretty much as awesome as it always was which was always good, always reliably good and and always fast. The burritos are gi-freaking-normous and really good. Nom nom nom...

I went their last nite with a friend from out of town and we had some awesome mexican food! I miss the old bimbo's when the food was 4 dollars back on pine, but times change and it is a little more expensive, but a great atmosphere none-the-less. The food came fast and tasted great, but I ordered a chicken quesidilla and could barely find any chicken. My friend thought I just ordered cheese, which would have been cheaper and would probably have tasted the same. I still like the place, but I think I will order something else next time I decide to go there.

Food here is great, service is kind of spotty though. The first time I was there, was to use a groupon, the service was fantastic. The second time I took my mom for happy hour and the service was not great, we felt kind of ignored. But the food and drinks are great and the prices are decent.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
