I have been going to Palmers for 3 years, usually on Sunday morning with my wife for breakfast, and during the week for lunch. About once a month, my best friend and me go in for the friday night prime rib special. we went in this friday , march first, and had dinner. at 8:15 I put $5.00 in the jukebox after the DJ said there was plenty of time. At 9 PM , after not hearing one song I had played, I asked the owner ( Thomas) if I could have a refund since not one of my songs had played. He stated that he had no control over the jukebox in his establishment but that he would look into it . when I got back to my table, I noticed that my drink was gone and my check was on the table. At the same time , my friend was just coming back from the bar area with a puzzled look on his face. He said that his drink had disappeared while we were out front talking to the owner about the jukebox and when he went up to the bar to order a drink he was told that we had been asked to leave by the owner. I would have had no problem with not getting a refund, but when the owner of an establishment says he's going to look into it, only to go in and tell the staff to clear your table and stop serving you and then disappear ? I have never been treated like this anywhere !!! My friend and I walked out of this place in shock !!! Apparently, Palmers could give two shits about their customers if it means losing five bucks on the jukebox .

Went on Sunday night. Fun place for a birthday party and Karaoke! Service was good all night and bar tenders were friendly. A fun Eastside place to do Karaoke.

Total dive bar but so fun! They have karaokee at night and a fun group of people and staff working. It is usually busy at night but it gets fun!

I love Palmers. There really isn't much in the way of drinking establishments in Redmond, but because I worked in the city for the past five years, I had to have someplace to go on special after-work occasions. Red Robin was the popular choice among most of my co-workers-- but c'mon, Red Robin?! There's got to be somewhere with more flavor than that! And Palmers delivers. Dark, of moderate size, and with no real decor or atmosphere to speak of, one would expect be happy with just a cold pitcher of Redhook. But the food's great! Killer BLT, awesome French dip. Affectionate waitstaff. A wierdly digital jukebox but a jukebox nonetheless. Play Dolly Parton's "9 To 5" and your waitress may start singing and dancing along. They arrange poker games. I wasn't aware of the karaoke (as Jon L. mentioned), but this new knowledge warms the cockles of my heart. One of my companions remarked wistfully that it reminded him of the only bar in a small Alaskan town: dark, full of regulars, and serving Alaskan Amber... So this isn't Alaska, but this is your home, Redmond. To hell with Red Robin. Just an update: I wouldn't dock any points for this, but one night they had a DJ. It was loud. Like a dance club. And it was wierd, so we left. Please don't bring back the DJ, Palmer's.

Archetypal dive bar. Loud, noisy, packed during appropriate hours, karaoke is always an adventure --- there's one guy who's amazing and brings his own microphone. Dedicated! Pool table in the back. Food is nothing special --- standard bar fare --- but consistent. Drinks are cheap (for the area, mind you) heavy pours. Limited but solid draft selection: pitchers available. Bartenders provide great service even during packed times.

I think I've been there at least 20 times since I moved here last year, and now it's become the default Friday night hang-out. Like what was said before - if you're looking for a trendy eastside bar / Microsoft hangout, then this is not the place for you. If you like cheap (but decent) food / drinks, a decent beer selection (for a small bar), friendly bartenders that remember your name, don't mind karaoke (including the occasional drunk like me that will sometimes sing), and like a place where you always leave with a story, then you'll enjoy hanging out at Palmers. And don't let the "dive-bar" rating worry you - there are no fights / a$$holes that ruin it for everyone - and everyone is there to have a good time. The age group varies - last night we played pool with guys in their early 20s while two of my friends got hit on by a woman in her 70s. Like I said, you'll always leave with a story!

My boyfriend and I have quite a few friends who go to Palmers regularly, but only because it's close to home. They got me to start going with them...and let me tell you, I have no idea what all of the hype is about. This place is disgusting! The bathroom stalls are so small that you can barely close the door due to the toilet being right there. The soap in the bathrooms is in a condiment bottle, kinda like you see ketchup and mustard in at restaurants. The drinks are very inconsistant. I order the samething everytime. I can order the first round and its great, then the 2nd, 3rd rounds are completely different from the other ones....even though the same bartender is making them. I question the skills of the staff. You never get the same drink twice. Dont waste your time. Go across the street to the Matador. Plus, they have karaoke 7 days a week. This is annoying. It's always the same drunk regulars singing. Lame.......I haven't been back here in a year, nor do I plan on returning.

palmer's is usually a good time. big john is the resident karaoke dj, and he is always good for a break for your ears when everyone else's awful renditions of heavy metal screaming songs have put you a little on edge. he does a great version of "time of my life" or whatever it's called from dirty dancing. i've never had their food, so i don't have an opinion there, but the staff is really cool. the bartenders remember you after only a couple of visits (or maybe it's just because i go with a group of people who frequent the place probably way more often than is healthy). they have excellent drink prices and pool tables in the back room. avoid the bathrooms if you can though--the ladies room at least is usually kinda gross, and one of the stalls is so tiny that i can barely close the door because my legs are too long. i'm not too big on singing karaoke myself, but this is a great place to hang out with your friends and watch other people make fools of themselves. or make a fool of YOURself--whichever makes you happy. palmer's is definitely not the place to go for a classy night out, but if it's a dive bar with an eclectic group of people that you're looking for, this is the place to go.

Palmers is probably not your best choice for a hangout place, unless you: 1. Enjoy singing karaoke, 2. Don't mind being at a dive bar. Nevertheless, 4 stars goes to Palmers, if only for the entertainment value alone. Can't speak to the food.

Great friendly staff, if you like that "Dive Bar" Feel. Then this is the Place for you. There's Karaoke 7 nights a week. It's Also a Great Place to Host an Event. Whether it be a Birthday party, Or a Wedding after Party. Definitely a "Come as You Are" Place.

So close to Kirkland and so far away. I love it. It's sticky, dark, loud, cheap and refreshing. I am quitting yoga for karaoke here, even though I have Delta Dawn What's that Flower you have on stuck in my head. Forever.

Giggle. I can't help but chuckle when writing this review. I've been to this bar twice, fairly late night. The crowd is...well...it's varied and there is something for everyone. People come out of the woodwork to hang out here. It is truly a mix of Microsoft interns, local folk, mature folk looking to relive their glory days and the list goes on. That is part of what makes this place fun! If you like karaoke this seems to be the place in Redmond. The drinks are cheap!! I bought a round of drinks for our group of 5 and it only cost $23!! It's a fun place to land on a Friday or Saturday if you aren't quite ready to hang your hat after dinner out in Redmond.

I had a lot of fun here. My friend had her birthday party here and a lot of us were driving from Seattle to join the celebration at Palmers on eastside. First, it's an interesting place where there are mixed of people from ages of 30-60 plus. Second, it's kind of awkward because you can feel different sets of eyes are you. I am sure Redmond is famous for their cougars. And, yes, I saw a lot that night. In fact, I may be joining them soon! Although, the karaoke night was a lot of fun! The DJ that night was so cool and sings very well himself! He would jump in entertain if there's no one singing. The bartender on duty was very nice. He recommended cider because I don't like most of the beers. I ordered a couple starters and went pick up but missed it and he delivered to me. That was very nice! That night, I ended there with a dance in the group. It was a lot of fun!

You don't go to Palmers because it's the prettiest place in town, you go because it's your favorite dive bar with karaoke seven nights a week, attentive staff, "better than your average bar" food and drinks that will make any upscale cry with jealousy. Plain and simple, if you want a night out where you can be yourself and look however you want and not give a crap about anything, this is the place. Bring your appetite. Bring your dancing shoes. Bring your VISA card and spend an evening at Palmers. You'll want to come back...unless you're a bar snob.

  • Yamina S.

Palmers wins for location and drink prices. Karaoke nights attract a very mixed crowd that can get a bit confusing. The subculture clash on these nights is like a reality TV series with a hilariously poorly performed and equally as eclectic soundtrack. Regardless of the social peppering, everyone gets along just super. There is no dedicated parking but there is plenty of public parking available around the area. It's about a $4-8 uber ride from basically anywhere in Redmond. Drinks are incredibly affordable and there is usually decent seating available. The bartenders are really friendly and service is pretty quick. If you were to ask for recommendations that involved the words "drinking" and "Redmond", I would point you towards this place.

Ok first off, for all the people complaining about it being a dive bar, for god's sake its LISTED UNDER DIVE BARS. Simple, a little rustic, a little modern, many walks of life, an owner that will talk to you, reasonable prices (considering it's REDMOND), and the staff folks are great. p.s. the letter from Katie is real

I'll make this quick. Being ogled. Nice bartender. Karaoke. Cheap Mannys. Clean bathroom. Loved Palmers and I'll be back for more divey goodness.

Take me down to Palmers East, where the grass is green and the girls are pretty. Oh won't you please take me down to Palmers East for some cheap drinks and sweet sweet karaoke?!! This place is DA JAM. And I don't even say words like that together, but it seems fitting. Lots of jams to be had here. Drinks are super cheap, the bartenders are always friendly even on the crazy packed nights, and it never takes too too long for your song to come up. I need to make it a point to go here more. Definitely.

  • Eric D.

This is one of my favorite dive bars ever. I've played a lot of show and sung a lot of karaoke in some real dicey places and while this is definitely dicey, you can't beat the prices and the people watching is THE BEST! From aging grunge kids to 20-something frat-boys getting denied by every girl in the bar, the sh*t-show only ends when you leave! $6 bucks for a Grey Goose is hilariously affordable to me after being in LA for so long (and having to spend $10-$12 for the same drink.) the bar food is... Bar food, so it's exactly what your drunk ass needs at 12:45 and you can't tell if the person next to you is giving you eyes or is about to pass out! Come, watch the show and try the veal!

I don't drink, and I'm too much of an old fart now to enjoy the night life anymore. My beloved took me here in the daytime for a yummy burger and it did NOT dissapoint! The burger was on point, had tons of fresh veggies on it and perfectly charred. Clam Chowder, delicious and fresh and curly fries were perfect. I would have ordered more food if I hadn't stuffed myself already, their menu had so much to choose from and affordable too! Lots of groovy 80's and 90's jams playing in the background. I felt comfy inside, there seemed to be a lot of locals there. I felt a family-friendly vibe, and for a bar that meant something to me because I had never been a fan of bars, even when I was living in chaotic Hollywood I would shy away from them. But now I'm a Palmer's fan! Thank you for being so inviting and yummy!

After a horrible experience at the Matador up the street, we wandered into this bar. Great dive bar atmosphere with karaoke and pool. Very chill crowd and staff. Did not try the food...just drank copious amounts of beer. The menu looks pretty good so will try to make it back for happy hour or lunch. Good people and good brews. Had a blast at Palmer's East!

I wasn't sure what to think, never been to Palmers before. I'm here and really enjoying the relaxed atmosphere, cheap drinks and entertainment from those singing Karaoke! They have a great DJ and awesome bartenders. Great Saturday night. I'll be coming here again :)

Stayed at the Marriott for one night and had some time to kill in the morning before a flight. Great dive bar

Palmers is the best and only dive bar in Redmond. Friday night karaoke is standing room only. Some of the singers are awful, but that's part of the fun. The bathrooms are small and dirty, the pool table is in an area half the size it should be, and you have to stand in line to get served. I haven't tried the food, but it was served in small, wax paper lined, red baskets, so it must taste good. Bouncer out front and a sidewalk lined with smokers. It is cheap beer, loud music, and great people watching. If that's not what you want don't go here.

Palmers is cheap food and cheap drinks. the bartenders remember you and the owner is always happy and willing to meet anyone. My family always loved coming here, the 1/2 price burger Tuesday is a steal of a deal. a burger and fries for a Lil over 3 to 4 bucks makes me feel like I'm robbing them blind! when my brother passed, all the bartenders pooled their tips and donated a weeks worth of tips to my family, they truly care about their customers more than anything, to them its not about money or being hip, its about making a great place for people to always feel welcome. I went to the Redmond bar and grill, my food was about 17 dollars, my drink was over priced, and for a "bar" they were insanely rude. I went out to smoke and they chased me down asking if I was running out on my tab.......never again will I stray from the greatness of Palmers. Try this place out, sit, mingle and eat a great hot fast meal for a more than amazing price! I try to be here once a week, and even though I moved about an hour drive away, I'd rather be here!

    (5)
  • Pone C.

This place is a piece of sh*t, don't have a tab open, bartenders would put random drinks on it. If you drink was 4 dollars and you give them a 5 don't expect any money back. I hope a new place would take over the place. Literally the worst place ever.

When you think "Dive Bar," you generally do not think Redmond. However, Palmer's is a welcomed exception. My friend and I were having a low key "staycation" and discovered this place was within walking distance of our hotel. So we decided to try it out. We had a blast! I am not into karaoke at all, but this place is still a good time. In between karaoke "performances" music plays and the dance floor stays packed! The DJ will readily play any requests, though he looks at you funny when you request anything popular by today's standards. The crowd is very eclectic, the staff is friendly and all patrons friendly and looking to have fun. Keep in mind it is a fairly small place, so if you want to snag a table, get there early! All in all....it's worth checking out, but beware...you'll probably soon become a regular!

  • Renegade Reviewer S.

Great dive bar with plenty of friendly staff and patrons! Karaoke 7 nights a week and dancing if theres enough people on the floor. I will add one thing and that is I know the DJ and he is nothing like a certain reviewer would have you believe. I was there that night sitting at the bar and you can choose to beleive reviews from Brian R. who has an obvious problem with his drinking since he initiated the problem with the DJ, then got cut off! Since he reviewed a lawyer for a past DUI. He should do a review of his attitude and then ones for AA and Anger Management classes while he is at it. Seriously just come in and find out for yourself. All the staff and the DJ are always there to help you have a good time. Just do not bring a bad attitude with you. Fridays and Saturdays can be super busy and very loud!! If you want to sing more than once, I highly suggest you get there at 9pm. If you want to sing a lot. Come in on the other nights. The kitchen stays open later on Fridays and Saturdays. Otherwise closes at 10pm. Seating is limited to and can be a problem if you are coming in with a group. In this case, I know they take reservations for groups.

This is a dirty little dive bar in the middle of Redmond downtown. But it is WYSIWYG when it comes to this dive bar. I love the people there and the variety of people that attend this place. The atmosphere always change as different groups of people come in. I have seen legal friends, tech friends, young friends, old friends, and all walks of life. It keeps this place entertaining. The prices are pretty good and the service is awesome. I don't know what the hype is about the Karaoke because I have definitely been to better ones. I like that they stay consistent and always do it daily on time (you get points for that). Not many karaoke places left have a full legal selection that has a pretty good selection. Here is a tip, if it is a super busy night and you are really wanting to sing, some cash for the DJ would be helpful since he upkeeps the Karaoke portion of Palmers. It is a win win since you will be chosen sooner to sing and the funds go towards making Karaoke better and better. But if you're there to dance, get drunk at a dive bar, this is the place to visit. They also have a pool table in the back but it is first come first served if you want to have a private party, get there early and grab the back room. Have fun!

Palmers has all the ingredients for a good time. Karaoke and dancing makes for lots of fun. Cool bartenders and an unpretentious atmosphere. Definitely a great place to spend a weekend night in Redmond.

  • Delgado H.

This place is absolutely disgusting. I like dive bars, but this place was crawling with flies, covered in duck tape, and I am pretty sure I contracted some sort of disease just from being within the vicinity of some of the patrons. that being said, the bartender was giving away free shots of jaeger most of the night, so if you are 21-22 and haven't figured out that jaeger is gross, this may be the spot for you! Also, make sure if you order a beer it comes out of the tap and not out of one of the pitchers they have sitting out.

I have since been back to Palmers as I believe in redemption and the DJ was very nice to me and explained that he'd had a bad week for personal reasons (and keep in mind that was about 18 months ago and he remembered). He bought me a drink to make amends, and moved my song request to the front of the cue. We all have bad days, but it's how we correct them that make a difference. I was quick to judge, so I would recommend checking them out.

As a Milwaukee transplant to Redmond I find the atmosphere and ambiance of Palmers to be rather familiar and pleasing. Yes, this is absolutely a dive bar. If dive bars aren't your thing, go to any other bar in the city of Redmond. Drinks and food are appropriately priced, people are drunk, there's dancing and singing and usually a line of smokers standing outside the entrance. It never disappoints. Always a great time.

We're from out of town. We were visiting friends who live on Lake Sammamish. They were being excellent and gracious hosts, and much to the delight of Susie, I was being an excellent, cheerful, talkative guest. After we got back from a trip to Snoqualmie Falls, I announced I was going to indulge my karaoke vice at this promising place I had Yelped just three miles up the road. My wife stared daggers at me, but our host laughed with delight and graciously insisted they all come with me. So that's great. But now I got 3 people who are *not* karaoke hard core with me. I know they are not going to gladly wait thru a karaoke queue which by this time is probably 20 singers long just to hear me do my thing. Sure enuf. The queue is long. Desperate not to make my hosts wait past their bedtime, I resort (shame) to a bribe attempt, slipping the KJ a five and asking to be moved up. He actually beams and declares, "Oh man! You found the way to my heart" he gets me up the next, next turn and announces enthusiastically to the rest of the house how I found the way to his heart. I don't imagine that pleased the regulars, but they were gracious enuf about it all. So I got up and showed off my chops and our hosts got themselves to bed at a decent hour. Hey.. That night I found the war to Someone's heart for a mere $5! .. Where else can this be done for so cheap? Not that many places I tell you.

Very popular place for a variety of locals on Friday nights. Drinks were not strong. Ordered a long beach and didn't taste or feel any alcohol. Karaoke nightly mixed in with other popular songs through nigh was cool. There's not stage for singing so it's not as nerve racking to participate in karaoke if your shy. Bathrooms not good. They have all the good dive bar stuff I like but too small to enjoy it. Big buck hunter, darts, pool. Dance floor is popping all night. Mostly casual wear. They don't honor the 25 foot rule got smokers so I smelled like smoke at end of night .

For Redmond, this is one of the most divey bars I have ever been to. My roommate is a regular there, so drinks are handed out like candy to him. I think all the times he has been there, he has had 8+ drinks for free. People just LOVE him! Regardless, the people are a unique kind and not at all Redmond-esque, but they are all there for one thing: to sing their hearts out. I have heard some amazing singers who I think should be on American Idol, but they are probably wiser than that to sell their soul to the entertainment industry. The bar is just one room with tables and booths, one bar, and a pool table. I've met a few interesting people here, all of whom I'll never see again, unless I go to Palmers. Sometimes I wonder if there's a Palmers West and if they ever have singing competitions because that would be DOPE! The bartenders are generous with their shots and super friendly (as all bartenders should be). Other than karaoke, this bar also has poker night and comedy night, which is actually pretty entertaining granted the size of the place. Though not a place I frequent often, it really gives you a real-life experience with some of the people you meet.

Say it with me now, "SUNDAY FUNDAY!" This place is fantastic. The best part about it is you can go have an amazing time Saturday night and come right back on Sunday morning and have some of the best breakfast in the area with a beer. I don't care of the karaoke but it does add a unique feel to the place and makes for all the more fun. I use to drive over from the university district to meet up with friends here and it was well worth the ride over the bridge. I couldn't recommend this place more for the Saturday night Sunday morning combo.

DIVE bar for sure. It's a great place though. I have been going there on off since I was 21. 12 years. Great service. I have no idea about the quality of the food, because I go there to drink rather than eat.

Great dive bar. The drinks are cheap. ~$3 for a beer and $4 for well drinks. the burgers here are amazing! Try the blue cheese burger..absolutely yumm!! if you are with a group of friends and just want to enjoy. I totally recommend this bar. There is karaoke in the bar and its always fun listening to people singing.

Not a fancy, modern bar, but a fun place to listen to Karoke, have a beer and relax. Palmer's offers many activities and is always a fun place to drop by. The bar seems to have people that come back often, young adult to older and everyone seems to enjoy there time. Bartenders are nice and serve you quickly.

I just went here recently and had the worst expierence!! The drinks are less expensive then the Matador but you get what you pay for. Very rude bartenders, who have zero sense of humor! You have to wait forever for a drink and the atmosphere is horrible. VERY SLOW SERVICE! If you want a better atmosphere, just pay a little bit extra and go across the street for friendly bartenders at Matador , who have a sense of humor and pour stronger drinks. I wouldn't wast a dollar for this LOUSY atmospher.

Drove all the way from Snoqualmie for the karaoke. Nothing special at all. The DJ favored the regulars and just never seemed to get back around to new people or maybe he kept adding anyone that walked in the door. Either way, we waited forever to sing. There was no food while were were there, not even chips or nuts at the bar. We stayed three hours and between two of us, sang twice. For the price of gas, six drinks, and the waiting, it was not worth it at all. We will not be going here again.

The only saving grace to this bar is their amazing karaoke DJ. He really offers some of the best karaoke service you could ask for. And I hate karaoke. Karaoke aside, this bar is pretty terrible. In terms of bartending and clientele, your probably going to have a hard time having a good time here (unless you're already drunk). My friends frequent this place and every time you go in, it's filled with a bunch of douchebags (mainly during prime hours). And if the customers are total dbags, you can expect it to rub off a bit on the bartenders. On these nights, they were the only time I ever got bad service at the bar. So if you're looking for a place to drink and grub, and you don't want to deal with dbags on a weekend, check out Three Lions Pub in Redmond. They've been there for decades and offer some amazing service and a much better environment. If it wasn't for their karaoke dj, this place would deserve a 1.

I'm not a fan of dive bars, but this place truly has heart and soul. After coming here a few times with friends, being remembered by the bartenders, and karaoke DJs (Big John and the cool guy that fills in for him. Major kudos for nerd-core songs as intermission.) this place grew on me like a fungus. I love it here. I have also met some of the regular clientele here too. They are all nice folks from all sorts of walks of life. Even though there are some regulars are creepers, I just stay away and watch them afar for the lulz. If "Cheers" was a karaoke dive bar with a dance floor, this would be it. I come here for the people. Also stiff drinks. If you eat anything, you cannot go wrong with their chicken strips with curly fries. Its served with the best bbq sauce ever. Tip your bartender and karaoke DJ well. They really make the atmosphere amazing.

The P in Palmers is for PULL-TABS! Seriously, this is one of two (that I know of) divey bars in Redmond that have pull-tabs. Their location is also great, being right down-town, within walking distance of many other bars and restaurants. It makes for a great evening of bar hopping! I highly recommend you stop by on Tuesdays for their half-price burgers. CURLY FRIES!! Just be warned, if you're planning on using a credit-card, they impose a $10 minimum, with a $0.50 fee for bills of less.

your typical dive bar that sticks out like a random sore thumb on the eastside. been here a few times and listened to people sing horrible songs during karaoke. people that come here are friendly and make conversation easy with strangers but there are some strange folks as well that fall into the mix. last night i witnessed a lady bull riding her date (get a room), talked to a man who pulled up a photo of his 27 year old daughter and proceed to tell me how amazing and beautiful she was, creepy. bartender and dj are fun to be around and drinks are good. overall, convenient location to hit up after dinner at matador. not many places in downtown redmond (outside of Redmond Town Center) that you can just chill and pop in and have a drink that is as laid back as this place.

Great dive bar! This place has a VERY wide range of clientele. From legit homeless people to high level Techie types. I have walked with a worthy story every time I have gone. There are some very interesting characters that hang out there. Strong drinks are a plus!

Lately we've been coming for dinner and drinks. Their $9.99 prime rib Friday and their pasta were pretty decent. Their burgers, fries, and onion rings are very good. Bartenders and waitstaff, karaoke hosts are all friendly. Don't be pissy if you need something and have to get up and ask for it and be patient on the karaoke rotation-lots of singers from tone deaf to near pro. Able to have a family dinner at the best dive bar on the eastside, minors have to leave by 10. If ur gonna sing with kids do so as soon as karaoke starts. Our plan is always leave before our teenage daughter gets hit on by some drunk horney fool. I've been coming here off and on since the 90s. The one time i disappeared for a stint and stepped in to use the restroom it was a total 20 something meatmarket and i felt unknown, old and awkward. The crowd is diverse on different nights of the week. I'm pretty shy and used to come alone but sometimes there are really nice people who will open up their clique and invite you to sit with them. I like karaoke on Thursday nights when its almost the end of the week but not so busy. The only problem i had was on a Saturday night and the awnry red head bouncer didn't let me in cause he claimed he saw me stumble and ASSumed i was drunk. Hellooo! I just sustained an injury and having mobility issues ?F#! :(. I didn't even have a single drop of alcohol prior to that and all i wanted to do was sing that night. I don't like strangers making absurd insensitive baseless accusations about me. At least the place looked packed like i probably would never have gotten to sing or drink for a long time coming. I marched myself down and across the street to Matador where they thankfully accepted my $ patronage for a snack and a few enjoyable white peach sangrias. Needless to say i left happier than i had been before stepping on to Leary Way that night. But its all good. Still love ya all!

The only dive bar I know of in Redmond. Check with them for up to date events, but they do Texas Hold 'Em tournaments (Free to Play, Cash Pot) on Monday and Wednesday nights. Get extra chips for coming early and get extra chips for bringing a new player. Also, they have Karaoke with a pretty decent selection. No stage to speak of and not a huge crowd, so would be good for karaoke beginners. Food is meh... nothing special. Overall, a nice relaxed dive bar in Redmond. They've even let me bring my dog in (though I'm not sure I'd call them "dog friendly" just ask, they might say yes!)

Exactly what it says on the tin. Awesome karaoke, good drinks, fun atmosphere. I've found my new neighborhood drinking/singing establishment. Not fancy, but fun.

Ohhhh Palmers....so much to say but I'll do my best to keep it simple. It was my solid go to bar for a year. Karaoke 7 nights a week coupled with cheap drinks and strong pours make this gem really shine. I've caught people humping in the bathrooms and been in a couple scuffles here but the crowd is always diverse and it's constantly entertaining. The bartenders really hustle so even if the line is 20 deep you know you'll have a cold beverage is no time. It's the perfect dive bar!

It's been a headache trying to figure out what's worthy of my 300th review. So I'm finally giving in, because I may as well write about my favorite bar: Palmers. Always a strong pour, karaoke every night... two of my favorite things fused into one trashy haven. Not gonna lie, I'm not exactly a socialite on the class scale so the fact I can come in to Palmers in ultra cute mode or 'just crawled out of bed' mode makes it the ultimate comfort bar for me. In spite of my varying attire, I don't think there's a night I've been where I haven't been skeezed on by sketchy guys, but that's kind of part of the charm. If you're an average or better looking person, at least one girl will come on to you [she's always there -- one week she hit on my (female) friend, the next she hit on my friend's brother! and last time I went, I was feeling downright violated on the dance floor by this girl... it's so sad it's amazing!] There is a wide range of talent on the karaoke front but Big John is an amazing host and has a big book of potential embarrassment options... if you're new to karaoke, Palmers is the perfect place to start out! The crowd is always responsive and as a KJ, John will help you out. Also he does the best rendition of "Rock You Like a Hurricane," that isn't a studio recording. There are a bunch of little oddities about Palmers.... like, there's one stall in the ladies bathroom that is nearly impossible to close the door on because your knees are most likely going to hit the door. There's nothing classy about this place, and there's nobody trying to prove otherwise!

Palmers: come for the prices, stay for...the prices. Their weekday food specials are the best, you will never find a better $3 basket of wings. It's rare to find a bar where you can get 5 beers and a decent meal for less than $20. UPDATE: Palmer's has since raised their prices. $3.99 for a basket of wings. Anywhere else a 33% price increase would be reason enough to consider some other location. At Palmer's East, it's still cheap and totally worth.

It's a dive bar. Every city has one. This is Redmond's. They have cheap(ish) drinks. Probably some standard bar food, which I haven't tried. Karaoke and lots of drunk patrons. I am not really into Karaoke, which is probably why I wasn't a fan of this place. Most of the people couldn't sing, and it was WAY too loud. The only saving grace was Allie S. I would go back to hear here sing, but only her! We got harassed by some stupid drunk girl, so that probably contributed to my dislike as well. Given it's Redmond location, I am sure I will end up here again in the future. I have been told they have a decent Happy Hour, so maybe I will give that a try. I guess I am more of a fan of a Pub than a Dive Bar, at least in the 'burbs. PS The door is open, and like 50 people stand right outside the door and smoke, so then the entire bar smells like smoke, even if smoking isn't allowed. It reminded me too much of the South, and dive bars where it's still legal to smoke in. *bleh*

I have eaten here several times and I can tell you that every meal has been an A. The unfortunate side is the fact that the service has never been anything more than lousy. Now, it's more of a bar than a restaurant, but with food as good as they serve, they are not doing themselves justice by not servicing the customer better. Great food! 5 star eats, 1 star peeps.

Wanted to try this place out on a whim with group of 7 after dinner at Matt's in Redmond Town Center, 4 guys 3 girls. The Ogre at the front door told us off before we even got in. What a gentlemen! (I think John is his name) He carded everyone, (we are all late 30's and mid 40's so what a compliment!) and we all willingly complied with his request. After some thought, he then proceeded to tell us with the help of his fat ugly sidekick in the Minnesota Vikings jacket that we were not allowed in. He couldn't give us a valid reason, then after some more thought, He said we all looked drunk and would not allow us to go any further. Funny, we were all dressed nice and hadn't started drinking yet. Hmmm, maybe the sausage/muffin ratio was off for their laime karaoke night? This was early on a Saturday night, and the front of this dive bar is all windows, so you can see in, there weren't that many people in there. I can't imagine a bar that would turn away a group of patrons looking to spend $$ on drinks, but then again, I guess from the reviews on here the tables on the inside are sticky and so is the dance floor, so better off not having that experience. We ended up walking 300 feet down the street to Redmonds bar and grill, which was a far better choice. A few of us pondered our Palmers front door experience, and can't come up with a reason for entrance refusal. . . weird. Maybe some illicit gambling going on inside? Maybe breach of fire code? Maybe we looked like bad singers? (We aren't Asian) All in all, the guy at the front door was miserable and unfortunately set the precidence for a negative experience before even getting inside.

My crew keeps coming back to this place on weekend at last twice a month. Trashy inall the right ways. Big John is a hilarious KJ, simultaneously a gentleman and a pervert. Great beers on tap, standard fare bar food. Very inclusive, unlike many dives with their regulars.

The beer is pricey, but the selection is good; the karaoke host is great but it takes a LONG TIME to get a song in due to the immense crowd. A few good singers - notably the host - and a lot of variance between mediocrity and horror show, but the atmosphere is high energy and the over all feel is good. It is LOUD and can take quite a while to get a beer.

Not a shabby place in the heart of Redmond. Cheap drinks, a pool table and buck hunter. I can't ask for anything more when I want to just have a laid back night. Its a DIVE. Expect it to be busy-depending on the night, you WILL have random people talking to you...some drunk douchey guys ready to fight...and the feeling of the ickies when you go into the bathroom. But comeon, it's a dive. This isn't some trendy pretty lounge where you pay $10 for a drink. It's a dive where you can expect all of the above with a $3 beer.

I went here on a Thursday night with some of my local friends and a buddy from out of town. We were all sober upon arrival and were denied from the bar. We were extremely upset. The bar tender claimed that "she had served drunker people than us fags." This was very upsetting. We left immediately and will never attend this place again. We later went to Redmond bar and grill, which was a way better choice. We had a great time and are thankful. We will never attended Palmers again. Redmond bar and grill is the place for a great time. Forget Palmers.....

A fun and cool divey bar does exist on the Eastside! I first came here a year or so ago, must have been early in the week and it was really slow and my friend and I were disappointed that they're pool table was broken and there were only a handful of people in here. I remember my friend saying he hopes we never become regulars at this place, little does he know... I didn't know what the draw to Palmers was until a few months later... Those few months passed by and my girlfriend and I were at the Matador having some late night happy hour treats, when this totally inebriated woman stumbled in. She was rude to customers and then demanded service. The bartender kindly asked her to leave. The funny part was that she was acting so erratically that I thought she was just that- acting. In fact I thought it was part of a dinner show or something. Anyway, I heard someone mumble she must have come from Palmers... Palmers, I say... We need to visit this place. We paid and left, and sure enough the storefront outside of Palmers was alive! People were outside smoking, mingling, hooking up- or trying to. Down the street the cops were called and booking the blonde... We walked right in, ordered a couple of drinks- stronger and better than we expected. I think the man with the spikey hair makes better drinks than the cute woman, but that's purely our opinion. Some of the singers are pretty good, probably ex-band members (the ones with the better hand and body movements as if they were rehearsed) others just out having a good time. My girlfriend and I like the mix of dance music, singing, dancing, singing, and so on. So keep playing stuff we can dance to, Mr. Music Man! It's fun to get into it, especially when there's a good singer, singing something you can dance to. The music man with the long dark hair is definitely a throwback to the 80's hair band era but this guy can sing, especially those high notes. I like hearing those old rock tunes every once in a while- bring back some great memories. I haven't tried the bar food, so I can't speak on that, but keep an open mind, and this place will be a lot of fun for you. We've hung out here for the past couple months and are starting to see the same faces. I guess we've become regulars.

If you're looking to bar hop the thriving metropolis of Redmond, you'll need to stop here. It's a total dive: Dark, Karaoke 9 nights a week, a .9bac & greater dance floor, pool table in the back, bar food.. The most amusing quality of this place for me is the somewhat rotating karaoke star crowd. If you sit there for more than an hour or so inevitably someone will walk in, sit down by themselves, order a drink and kick back for a few songs. Then when you're not looking walk up, perform something so ridiculously well that everyone either stops what they're doing to listen or completely tunes them out because it's identical to the original --- weird effect.

palmers is a always a great time! there is always a good crowd of people there, and the karaoke is one of the best in the area. there seem to be lots of regulars who have classic songs they like to perform, and i was surprised by how good they all are. my favorite night to go is on wednesdays b/c the best bartenders work that night. elizabeth is hot and provides great service. it's also wing night on weds, which makes weds the perfect night!!

Okay, first and foremost.. I only go here on a rare drunken occasion.. with that said, it really can be fun.. some great people watching.. Seriously... FUCKING AWESOME PEOPLE WATCHING.. The bartenders are cool and quick to get you a drink.. It's a fun spot to go to with a group of friends if you're in the mood to get wasted and just hang... or, perhaps, laugh at horrible singing weirdos, drunken idiots and bar sluts... And, not the fun type of bar slut you might find lingering on a college campus. Get it?... This is NOT the place to go if your purpose for the night is to score an attractive lady. If that is what you are looking for, then Palmer's is the last resort, Hail Mary pass, cross your fingers and pray to the fucking gods that some unfortunate cute girl got dragged in as a courtesy to her haggard friends and, then, drank entirely too much to make being at Palmer's alright with herself. But, even if you are lucky enough to find such a rare commodity (I've seen it a time or two), even in that case you'd have to somehow get past the hurricane of her fat and cleft faced friends who are bound to cock block you from even getting as much as a phone number... And, my guess is, you are not going to have a crew big enough to jump all of those grenades. IF, and only if, unattractive ladies are your thing, then this might just be your spot!! Zero standards = Palmer's. Every time I am there some leach of a woman unsuccessfully tries to take me home. Even if I'm with a girl and she turns her back for a second. This is a Grade-A dive bar. I sincerely think that of all the dive bars I've been to in WA State.. This and the BLT (in Bonney Lake) are the top fuckin' notch... Karaoke every night... cheap drinks and, at the very least, entertainment. It's also walking distance from my apartment which makes it way more accessible if I'm entertaining my retarded drunken hombres and don't feel like getting a DUI.. Which I never feel like getting. I like a chill bar and hate clubs but this place is not exactly my scene. If it were I'd rate it way higher because it actually does fit it's niche and clientele. True Diggity Dat!

One of the other reviewers said this reminded them of an Alaskan bar. I've never been to Alaska, but if that means that I was the only non-White patron at the bar, then yes, I agree. But who cares about the ethnic make-up when the staff is friendly and serves the best Buffalo wings I've had in this area? For $5.99, you get around 10 wings with a yummy, spicy, vinegary sauce over wings that, unbattered, were cooked in a fat fryer. It's an honest wing -- not like that battered gunk they serve at Hooter's or that weird, though not-unpleasant combo of spices at at Wing Dome. I also enjoyed the karaoke because some of those singers were good and really put their heart into it.

This was only my second time visiting Palmers, but it was definitely my favorite! I met up with a couple of friends who were having some grub and fine wine at a fancy establishment close to my place. I'd only just sat down to enjoy some wonderful wine when one of them asked if we would like to take our act out for some karaoke, and while I nor my other friend, really partake in this activity, we agreed it would be fun and we promised to be the best groupies ever. We hit up a few bars before we found one hosting Karaoke, I mean come one, it was a Monday night after all. So this is how we ended up at Palmers East in Redmond and though it's quite divey, it ended up being a great place to have some karaoke fun! It's no fancy bar by any stretch of the imagination. But what it lacks in decor it makes up for in ambiance. This place was pretty dead when we walked in, but the music was flowing and the few locals present were singing their hearts out! We sat down close to the Dj and proceeded to have a great night of watching and listening to the astonishing Christy A. get her Karaoke on! The service here was prompt and friendly and they even gave us free soda and refills for the non drinkers in the group. This is a great little dive bar with adequate seating, pool in the back and karaoke 7 nights a week!

I really wish that Yelp would do half stars because this place needs it- 2.5 is kind of perfect for this place. Here's the deal- I'm 36 and I hated places like this when I was 26- too crowded, too noisy, too testoteroney- had to wait too long to get a drink, had to constantly push my way through the crowd to get from one side to the other. BUT there were a ton of good looking train wreck girls outside and since The Girl and her hot friend were inside and there was no pressure trying to have to find some crazy lady to take home, this was pretty fun. We got here around 11 and by that time the floor show had started on the sidewalk- just a bunch of drunk good looking people making idiots out of themselves...that part is awesome...the outside part here is awesome. The inside part was too hot and I am too picky...I absolutely take partial blame about why I didn't enjoy myself here and I will give this joint another shot sometime when it's not a Friday night before a three day weekend where it may just be normal and less douchey...

I LOVE PALMERS! What an odd, divey, 7-nights-a-week-karaoke, yummy-foods-filled bar! The staff are all fun and apparently all have crazy-pipes. Decently priced food and drinks, friendly people! YAY PALMERS, I'm going there NOW!

Yucky :( My friend warned me about going here, and I told her "sometimes douchebaggery is entertaining!" Well not when the Travis Barker of the Eastside is hitting on you because he likes "thick" girls (thats what he told me), when my friend and I explicity told him and his buddy we were there to talk amongst ourselves, he took it as an invite to sit right between us. Now I know there is a chance of this happening no matter what (it's a dive bar, for crissakes), but ladies, avoid this place at all costs unless you enjoy douchebags crashing your conversation with their backwards white hats, and dense thick-headedness they don't realize you are deliberately mocking them to their face, and they still tried to pursue you (and telling them you are married is even more enthralling because they've been married 3 times so they should know, it's not gonna last..so why don't you go tell your husband for me that I hit on you cuz you're so thick and fine)...this literally happened to me. Ew EW EW!! Please tab me out!!

I'll fully admit upfront I'm a bit biased by Palmer's East as they are a) an Anna's Ride Home bar partner and b) the biggest fundraising bar partner - ever. I was out picking up fundraising jars from our eastside partners on Saturday late afternoon and became peckish towards the end of our rounds. With Palmer's as our last stop we decided to make it our dinner spot as well. Sat at the bar and all of the staff (including Thomas the owner) were incredibly friendly and attentive. They seemed to know the names of 85% of the customers - which is a big plus to me. We ordered our drinks and perused the menu - it had a lot to choose from. I decided on the Teriyaki Chicken Burger with fries and the friend had the BLT with a salad. Both were delicious - and incredibly filling. I focused on my sandwich and had a lot of fries leftover and the boyfriend focused on his salad and had half of the BLT - both went home with us and were eaten before the night was over. Definitely have plans to go back to Palmer's East for some karaoke - and to keep it as our Eastside eating spot when out and about.

Pretty cool place. Karaoke every night. Singers get in fairly quick. Drinks are stiff. If you don't smoke, cigarette smoke wafts in easily, but it's an ok dive bar.
