TK Irish Pub Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Great Irish style pub food. They make their own corned beef and it melts in your mouth. Great selection of beers, too. Good service and fun atmosphere.

This bar is sweet if you want to kick back and have a beer with some friends, and watch sports. I went a few months back and the server we had was really rude though. If you sit at the bar you should be good. I like going throughout the week it's a lot quieter. The place has a great atmosphere, and they do drink specials which is awesome. I would go back because the owner was super awesome. I had fun, and the outside smoking area had heaters which was cool. I wish they had a pic of the front of the buildng and the ceiling though. This place has vissual appeal for sure. Please add better pics then the one's you have posted. They don't do the bar justice.

Food: DELISH! Service: Friendly! Atmosphere: A tad cramped but fun. I was just here on my first visit this past weekend and I did see a big burly bouncer hanging out next to the bar. There was no shenanigans and I must say the pork bites are TO DIE FOR. Definately the hangout I've been looking for in Puyallup and I'm going back tonight, since I have a coupon I got from Fred Meyer.

Some call it "classic" and some call it "modern" and one lovingly calls it "inconvenient" (as she adores it but - alas - lives in Tacoma). What none can call it is Twisted Kilt, as a name change was legally forced...So, I guess we call it TK's now, and truth be told, I have an hard time calling it "Irish", as it's more an "AmerIrish" blend of Irish, English & Scottish...But, that may be for the best, what with Olympics in London, Liz II's Jubilee, and all that. Whatever it is, it's definitely a step in the right direction for Puyallup!

Had lunch there on a Wednesday, and everything was awesome. Had the Irish Dip, phenomenal! Friendly, attentive servers. Decent selection of micros. I'll be back!

We had a pretty good time here. The bartenders were super friendly and fast. The drinks were perfect! Great price and not too strong but not too weak either. Music comes from a jukebox but the music that was played was mostly top 40's with a little house and some rock mixed in. They have a super comfortable patio out back with tables and love seats. I also have to add that there was no wait for the inside bathroom and two porta potties out back as well.

sorry , went last night , 15 minutes for a $6.50 shot in the dirtiest glass ive ever seen. no thanks.

Ive visited the Twisted Kilt on several occasions now and honestly, its a pretty nice place. The staff was pretty friendly and the drink were relatively cheap. The decor of the bar is most definitely that of an Irish pub and I can think of no better place to watch a Sounders game. I have yet to try any of the food but if it is the same as the service, it should be great.

They serve BREAKFAST! Holy moly! I had the corn beef hash...ridiculously delicious. Peter had the biscuits and gravy-came with 2 perfectly cooked eggs and 4 pieces of delicious bacon. oh shoot forget to give Jodi a shout out for an amazing bloody Mary and again we had super service.

Gave it 3 stars to be generous. I hate to be a snob, but I expect in a full service bar for my drinks to be served in glasses not a plastic party cup. Found the service without any flaw or anything interesting. They also decided not to honor coupons due to Meekers Day but for the amount of business maybe they should have.

The staff was very courteous and on point, the fish and chips I rated 5 star, large portions, fresh beer battered and cooked to perfection! 4 stars only because not a lot of seating very small and no air conditioning.

  • Melissa J.

The best shepherds pie! Great beer specials! Can get pretty packed in here but generally good people and good times.

Food is pretty good. Service is good. More stars if there was more seating. Can't get in most of the time.

Was finally able to swing in and grab a drink. Happened to be a Saturday night and was actually able to find a table to sit at. I don't drink beer to much, but the lady pouring drinks told me they had 3 ciders available. I told her to surprise me. My friend joining me for the night had something from the tap, a blue moon if I remember right. Crowd was a mix of old and young, which was nice. Was soccer and baseball on the TV. The Mariners were playing the Red Sox and there were a few Boston fans in the crowd this night and they sure wouldn't let you forget anytime something happened on the TV. Overall a fun place. Really need to get that second bathroom installed, the Honey Bucket outside just isn't fun, especially when you're a little tipsy. I'll totally come back to this place. Welcome to Puyallup!

  • James H.

Was top notch - Those days are over! Went in for lunch the "bartender" has no clue what she is selling. Fish was under cooked to the point of being pasty. Tarter looked/tasted spoiled. Nobody can make a homemade tarter? Save your money and seek out another local place.

This place is awesome, and was just what Puyallup needed. Twisted Kilt is a classic Irish Pub with a modern flare, and is much better than all the other dive bars in downtown Puyallup. I seem to visit the Kilt at least a couple times a week, either to grab a beer with friends or to delight myself in their amazing food. Being an established bar (that is 21+ all the time), of course their drink selection is good. They even have premium whiskey and wine if you really wanna treat yourself. And I'm a big fan of their beer selection. They have a lot of beers on tap that are hard to find elsewhere (Smithwicks being my current fave). Where this place really shines though, is the food. I'm pretty sure they have the best burger I've ever had... the Klassic with cheddar is hard to beat. I really wanna try some of the more authentic Irish dishes, like shepherd's pie, or some of their authentic English dishes, like the bangers and mash, or the fish and chips. The atmosphere and decor is great too. Soccer jerseys on the ceiling, with classic pub decor on the walls, and tons of HD TV's. Oh, and a TouchTunes Jukebox with a great selection! Another thing about this place is it really seems to be all-ages friendly (above drinking age, of course). Popular with crowds from 21-60. With that said, the Kilt is almost ALWAYS packed, because it's unfortunately small, and seats about 30.

I love Irish pubs. And this one has good service! Which can be rare. But if you are looking for a cheap (non domestic) beer then you will be let down. Great food and fantastic ambience however!

5 Stars all the way. Pub Chips were perfect.. not too crisp yet not too soft. The Finnian Sandwich was amazing. Service is great and the atmosphere is fun, laid back and overall great. The owner is engaging which adds a lot to this place.

Nice bar with a good beer selection, happy workers and the fish and chips dinner was exactly what an order of fish and chips should be. Real fish in a nice, not overpowering batter. Deep fried, and not greasy, the chips were a real treat, tasty especially when paired with the " Hoppy Bitch I.P.A. " no frills, just good food in a nice bar setting.

Appetizer Fried Calamari Over fried and it tasted partially burned. 2/5 Stars Corned Beef Sliders The bread was partially green with dye and toasted with butter and corned beef and cabbage and onion was sweet in the middle. 3/5 Stars Split Pea Soup This soup was okay. It had gritty feel around the mouth. Can taste the ham in the soup not overpowering. Salt content was in the low. 3/5 Stars Main Dish Shepherd's Pie Oregano and sweet tomato sauce penetrates this dish. This taste like the Boston Style Pizza in Bremerton, WA covered with mashed potato with sprinkle with cheese. 3/5 Star "I was being nice. My dad felt that it was a 3." Overall experience I wouldn't come back for the same food, but to experience different foods they offer. Thank you for reading Blake and Doug Gracia

Beer. Check Food. Check Service... bring a something you can wave at the waitress to get their attention if you want to order anything after your initial order cause you will be forgotten quickly.

Came here on a Saturday night around 10:00. First thing I noticed was the smell, it had kind of a moldy wet smell inside. We sat and got our initial drink order in and looked at the menu to see if they were still serving food that late but never got a chance to ask the server. It seemed like to get any of the servers attention you had to try and catch them as they walked by, we didn't really get much service. Overall wasn't terrible, but wasn't anything special either

  • Valerie K.

Yum! We had a Livingsocial voucher to use here, and we were very pleased. We loved our server (younger guy). When I see deals on restaurants I haven't tried, it's nice to have a discount so I can try the place with lowered risk. We'll definitely be back, with or without a coupon. We ordered the Irish nachos to start. Their homemade potato chips with melted cheese, sour cream, green onions, tomatoes, olives, and chicken. Yum! Totally amazing. Duh. What could go wrong with that? We also ordered calamari fries, bangers and mash, and shepherd's pie. All delicious! I would give 5 stars if they made more things from scratch. I was pretty sure the calamari fries were probably ordered from somewhere. No big deal, but making things in house is a way to go above and beyond with me. The next time we're hungry in Puyallup, we'll stop at TK's Irish Pub for some yummy pub food.

The best veggie burger I've ever eaten! I've had good service & then not so good service of the many times I've been here. It's pretty hit & miss. I would say not to go there on a soccer game day as it's completely packed & you'll be more likely to have slow service.

So so disappointed. My husband and I both had burgers for dinner. I had the BBB burger with blue cheese & bacon and my husband had the burger dip. Both our burgers were so terribly DRY!! I would of enjoyed and paid for a burger at McDonalds or JIB than waist my money on the two we had. My burger had one measly tomato & piece of lettuce and one chunk of blue cheese in the middle. Our drinks were tiny and gone in three drinks. The only reason we came here was because Bumpy's was packed. I will never come back for food or drinks.

Among my absolute favorite of downtown Puyallup! Crazy atmosphere for sounders games, but I look for times they are a little less busy. Food is good, I have never been disappointed by that. Beer selection is also good. Excellent bloody mary! Place I've been to at the start, middle and end of my day - good for all occasions!

I have never eaten here, but I have come here a couple of times for drinks on a late weekend evening. This place is usually packed. It's very small with a handful of tables. Nearly impossible to get through the crowd to the bar to order drinks. Last time we ordered, we waited so long that we left. We went to another bar and upon our walk back to the car, the bartender came outside to tell us our drinks were ready. Holy crap.. really?! The atmosphere is poor. I thought this was supposed to be "Irish"... But there is nothing at all of the sort.. They even play unpleasant hip hop. I have been to some legitimate Irish pubs and this is... Well, misadvertisement. Not really a fan of this place. Not much to like about it. Meh.

We went to the TK so I could have some fish. The fish was very good. It came with the house "potato chips' so I upgraded to "hand cut fries which were $2 more. The so called hand cut fries were cheap frozen fries. Another person had a club w/sour dough bread. We were served wheat bread so back it went. The sour dough bread wasn't toasted. Reuben fell apart easy and had excessive fat. Calamari was a bit mushy. House chips were good. Service was slow. Hard to get more drinks. Not sure if we would go back again.

Nice little place, I had a local IPA, the draft was good, no off flavors from the line, there was two bar staff for about 20 customers. As a solo male, I had to leave my table to get a refill, not great communication between the staff but they corrected quickly. Great little place with a comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff, and a well stocked bar, the well tequila is a no name brand but surprisingly good. All in all, a good stop on a first date or a nice hidey-hole if your looking to kill some time over a brew.

TK Irish pub makes the best Reuben sammiches I've ever had at a restaurant. The bread was perfectly toasted and the corned beef melts in your mouth. Both drinks on tap and mixed drinks were excellent. If you want faster service I would suggest sitting at the bar. I got the impression that the wait staff are also the bartenders. It seemed they had trouble deviding there attention amongst all the patrons. People sitting at tables were waiting longer to have there order taken while the waiters are making drinks at the bar. They would really benefit from having a separate wait staff or at least one waiter/waitress to take the tables orders. Maybe I had gone on a day they were understaffed and I may be wrong. If your looking for real Irish grub, this is the place to go in the south Puget sound area.

Normally I love this place. I have come here on more then one occasion and had pretty good service. Today is my last day I'll ever go back. I waited 20 minutes to get helped. I finally had to walk up to the bar and order myself. (They were not busy) then about 10 minutes to 3 the waitress came up and told us we have to pay a 5$ cover at 3 since they had some kind of event going on because of meeker days. Even though we were only there to eat and leave the waitress said we have to pay no matter what. When we asked to talk to the manager she promptly sent her to us. (Faster then the service we got.) She walked up behind me smacking her gum in my ear and asked what was the problem, when we explained we were only there to eat and we would be leaving after. She was so nice to say "as soon as you're done you need to leave." Awesome, I spent 25$ on just me to be treated so poorly. I had been there less then an hour. I will not be back and I did not leave a tip. Oh and side note I normally tip big since I have worked in the industry. Way to go.

Beware, I used to really enjoy this place, until my friends and I all had issues with our debit cards there. Between being double billed, larger tips charged, and having card info stolen, many of us have chosen to avoid this place now. But the food was damn good.

  • Elizabeth M.

I have been here a few times in the past and it only gets two stars because the food is really good but the staff is god awful. The bartenders are so busy taking selfies that they don't pay attention to the customers. The bar is small and usually takes forever to get service and then when you do the drinks are usually made wrong unless you get a beer and then you have to correct the bartender because she can't even say Smithwicks right...... I would rather go to Bumpy's or across the street to Forum where the service is great and the food is good as well.

4 stars for atmosphere tonight during Meeker Days. I'd hope though on a normal day I'd get some attention and not have to go begging for a drink and a plate of food....hell for that matter I'd hope on a normal day I'd get served my food in something other then a paper cup! Was here a couple years ago....loved the corned beef n cabbage. And enjoying this shepard's pie (even though it's in a paper cup) The wife had the surf n turf basket and she's grubbing on the chips :-)

Alright, alright...So me giving them a 5-star is a BIT early, BUT, from the experience I've had so far, it was great! :) Let me explain: My boyfriend and I went there this past Sunday (07/14) to meet up with a friend of his from work for brunch. They ended up getting a couple of cocktails but because I had a couple of drinks the night before, I didn't have any. I WAS disappointed to hear that they don't serve their regular menu until noon, but although I didn't get it, their breakfast buffet on Sunday looked MIGHTY tasty. The boyfriend was REALLY impressed with the Bloody Mary's - Said it was the best one he's ever had (and he's picky about his Bloody Mary's - And with the Sunday Brunch special, they were only $4 each! By the time we left, regular food was coming out of the kitchen and it looked WONDERFUL and smelled even better - I can't WAIT to try the Reuben here! The bartender was wonderful, the ambience was great, though it DOES look more like a sports bar than an Irish Pub. I can't wait to go back and actually try some drinks and food for myself! I IMAGINE the biggest downfall will be the parking.

Good place for variety and decent food. I liked the Irish Nachos. If you're cruising for ass, this is a good place to hit up. I go with my wife, so that's a foregone conclusion for me. All around, this is a good place to go late and close out.

  • Marissa A.

Have been here twice...good beer selection but that's not what I go for...It's all about the weekend bloody mary...In the morning hours they do a breakfast buffet (food is pretty good according to the BF, I don't eat breakfast foods, so I can't speak to the buffet personally)...but the Bloody mary's are amazing!! and super cheap...on the weekends they have a special on them...The BF and I each had 2 bloody marys and he had the buffet ($10), and left spending a mere $30 after tip! Service has been spot on each time we have gone,...I'm thinking we will definitely be back in the future

I'm a huge fan of this place, just the perfect spot for downtown Puyallup. The owners and staff are always very courteous, and always give us their time and attention. I've loved everything I've tried on the menu, Guinness meatballs are great, reubens and Finnians are well made sandwiches, appetizers always make me want more. I stop here at least once a week if I can, and I always bring new clients/old business pals here for lunch. If anything, my only complaint about TK, is their prices for food are TOO CHEAP!! They make high quality food, and everything across the board should be raised at least a dollar, and I have no problem with their liquor prices, but I want these guys to stay in business for the next 30 years of my life...

Cool little bar but the Asian gal behind the bar has a serious attitude issue and I won't be back if she's working. I've heard this from many other people including sine of her Co workers as well. She's not going to do you any favors as long as she's there

My girlfriends and I went in thursday night and had a good meal and good drinks - the service was slow, but there were a lot of people in there. We had a good time. We went in the next night, Friday, a "security" guard, a larger man, roughly asked us for our ID's and then proceeded to tell me mine was fake and he was going to keep it and kick me out. I can understand not wanting to serve minors, and my picture was terrible, but he was RUDE. I went outside and called the cops to come get it, I wanted to prove I was legal, and he started asking everyone standing outside if it was me, he asked to rifle through my wallet to find info (which he didnt trust) and he was just a jerk about it. SO rude. not professional about it at all. When the police came and gave my ID back to me, he never apologized, never looked me in the eye. It was very immature. My friends and I , who loved the place, will never go back because that man was such a jerk. Unfortunate, because we spent good money there.

  • Shadow W.

The only reason I give this place two stars is due to the food being fantastic, that is, if you can get them to serve you. I was recommended this place by a friend and now we are all looking at finding a new hangout. The wait staff walked past me five times in 25 minutes and never once offered me a drink or offered to take our order let alone said hello. It seems that the only way you will get served is if you are a regular, but how can you become a regular if you cannot get served in the first place?

    (2)
  • Carrie S.

Finally a place that has good dark beer!! Great Irish food, loved the meatballs and bangers and mash! The service was pleasant, but a little on the slower side. The stools could use replacing.. Mine was tipping to the side and I kept falling off.

Had a great time at the Twisted Kilt. Went there during the Sounders vs ManU match, loved the environment from the Sounders fans. The food was good, our server (Kathy) was sooo busy, but she did a wonderful job trying to serve us and all the others. I do have to say the seating is very limited. If you live or ever been to Puyallup then you know of Bumpys. The Twisted kilt is about the same size and very similar in it's layout. But It's nice to finally have a nice bar in downtown Puyallup. For years it's only been dive bars. They have a great beer selection. They have anything from Bud Light to Smithwicks. I had Smithwicks for sure. Great Ale and would recommend it to anyone. If your ever in downtown Puyallup shoot on over to the Twisted Kilt, and have a good beer. Oh before I forget...... I saw the owner of the bar there, and I was very impressed with the fact the he was out there with everyone else cleaning up dirty cups, getting food to customers, and not afraid to get a little dirty. Good for him, its rare to see these days, a boss who actually cares that much for his employees and his establishment, and most of all the customer.

More of a modern Irish bar, wouldn't say it is very authentic. The food is very good though! Service is so so depending on who you get. On more than one occasion a certain bartender has made eye contact with me and minutes later after many people who showed up after me she finally served me. She constantly forgets to bring menus and ignores people. Some people are much more attentive than others and are very friendly and helpful. Gets pretty packed on Fridays and Saturdays since it is a smaller place. If you go later in the night its not so bad. The atmosphere is really good though! Its a lot nicer inside that most of the other downtown Puyallup bars. Its about averagely priced and their pitchers are only 4 beers each which is kind of a bummer. In general its a pretty good place to go as long as its not busy.

  • Otto R.

Really great spot to get some grub, and watch the game on a giant TV screen. As soon as you walk in, you can tell this is a soccer bar, tons of soccer jerseys and scarves are on the walls and ceiling. The seating is all high tables with bar stools, no booths or chairs with backs here. Beer is decently priced, and the food is good (I had a sandwich)

Oh, how inconvenient. I LOVED Twisted Kilt. I bought an Amazon Voucher for the place last October, not realizing before I hit 'purchase' that it was a 20 minute drive away from my home in Tacoma. With just a few days before the voucher's expiration, I rounded up a babysitter (as the place is 21+), grabbed my husband and took the scenic route down 72nd street, and found the place. Seriously, we almost didn't go...the few pictures I've seen of it online do not do its charm justice, especially the exterior shots I'd seen. It didn't look welcoming--did we want to make the drive? The drive was so worth it! Parking was a snap, there was seating available even though a baseball game was on, both the bartender and the waitress came out to greet us and told us their favorites on the menu. As far as the place not being "Irish-ey" enough (as a reviewer below said) - I must disagree. It was, in fact, authentically Irish...you know, there weren't a bunch of shamrocks and leprechauns in my face everywhere. Instead, it had the welcoming, easygoing feeling of a true Irish pub. And great food. My husband had the Reuben...which he described as an 'eating adventure.' It was piled ridiculously high with sauerkraut and corned beef, and served on cool swirly green and white bread. I had the Irish Dip...delicious. I want to go back and try the green bean fries. And they offer an Iceberg Wedge salad that I'm definitely going for next time. I noticed the back patio when I was waiting in line for the restroom...the patio was of eclectic decor (patio furniture mixed with what I *think* was a sofa?) and was packed with a group of folks drinking wine and celebrating something or other...they all came out with smiles on their faces. It looks like there is room for a few tables in front of TK too, once the sun comes out. As far as the line for the restroom? There is only one right now, but a sign on a closet opposite the current bathroom promises that another is coming soon...under which someone has hand-written in black pen 'Hurry! We have to pee!' In short, I now see future summer evenings being spent looking for a babysitter so we can visit again...so inconvenient. But I'm so glad. We can't wait to go back!

Last night, based on the good reviews I saw on Yelp, my husband and I went here. I had to wonder if we were in the same place that all of these other reviewers went to, because this place just was not that great. I love Paddy Coyne's and Kell's in Seattle, but this place was nothing like that. To me, it was just a regular bar pretending to be an Irish Pub. Just because there's a Guinness mirror on the wall, doesn't make it an Irish Pub. We ordered the Irish Meatballs and the Bangers and Mash, which were OK, but certainly not great. I've certainly had better, and I definitely could make better. The service was decent, but we had to wait forever for our check. One plus: the beer selection on tap was good.

TK has wonderful service plus amazing food. the fish and chips are delicous and the nachos have homemade chips that are just to die for. Being an employee of a downtown puyallup company, its nice to have a reputable authentic bar to enjoy after hours. there is a very sophisticated yet easy going environment that is easy to enjoy and share a few beers with friends over. i definitely would recommend this bar to my clients and friends in the area. as for the people there..a great mix of young and more 'mature' which is a nice change for my husband and i....but it is an irish bar.. you cant expect everyone to have elbows off the table and on their best behavior. shoot, thats any bar. the Twisted Kilt is a very nice bar with a welcoming environment and i enjoy every visit i make!

Went yesterday to see the pipes and drums band for early St. Patty's day. My husband and I didn't even make it in the front door! The employee was so incredibly rude that we decided to not even go in and spend any of our money at this business! My husband walked right in without being stopped and the door man stopped me, a woman who is obviously pregnant and told me I would have to pay $5 to get in. My husband then walked out after seeing that I wasn't behind him and the guy at the door then told us both to pay $5 to get in. I don't have an issue paying cover on a busy day but his tone and how rude he was just blew me away. We won't be back.

Hands down, one of my favorite place to go when I wanna just hang out with friends. The bartenders are such sweethearts and the food is amazing. Never a dull moment here at the TK, and I love how much it has grown since it first open over 2 years ago. Great place guys and keep up the good work!

  • Matt C.

Pretty nice little spot. The place is setup and decorated well. Good selection on tap, and out of the bottle. Pretty friendly staff the last 2 times I've been in, really interesting menu, great prices, and really good pub food. Could be a 5 star pub, but there is 1 toilet for everyone to share, guys and girls. And it happens to be right next to the ice machine and kitchen, which isn't ideal. Fix that, and this one is right up there with the soccer pubs I've been frequenting for years.

This is exactly what Puyallup needed. A fantastic Irish pub with all the trimmings. Food is second to none and the service comes with a smile everytime. Awesome selection of brews from across the globe and a good tap too. Decor is great, and location is in the perfectly situated in beautiful downtown Puyallup. (You can leave at night and not get mugged.) Breakfast is also great. Had the Corned beef hash $10 and had to get a to go plate. This is the only breakfast worth reheating. Fantastic!

Was there yesterday for lunch. We were visiting Puyallup and needed a lunch spot and of couse you can't go wrong with an Irish Pub. The decor was good, and everyone was friendly. The food was very good: I had the steak salad and my buddy had the Irish Dip. I would give it 5 stars but have to go down to 4 because the food took a while to come out. For lunch, taking about 30 minutes for your food to come out is not acceptable. Overall a great place to hang out and next time in Puyallup, I will go have a drink at night. It looked like it would be a blast during the Sounders game nights.

Best bar in town to watch a Sounders game. Food and tap beers are good. Great environment!

great food! I very much enjoyed the fried "smoked Gouda" bites. (in quotations since I was the only person at my table that didn't think they tasted like macaroni noodles mixed with cheez-whiz). would NOT recommend to go to on a hot afternoon like we did. no circulation and no a/c.

Kayla made an excellent drink! However, The nachos were not good and the sour cream was warm.

Came here yesterday in the afternoon. Was packed with lots of mature folks, and tough to find a spot to sit, but I didn't expect anything really on St. Patty's. They handled it well with lots of out door seating free beer with $5 admission fee. Live Johnny Cash cover band and brats. I was really hoping for some Irish nachos, but I suppose I can waltz down again on a not so busy evening and grab some ;). They have Irish Death on Tap I LOVE IT!

They have great food, the staff keeps your glasses full and the sports are always on! Several different TV'S is a bonus. WINE-O on Tuesday's is fun plus you get to meet all the regulars and listen to their crazy stories.

Im not one for faux pubbery, its a bit schmaltzy for my tasted, but this place has a very nice feel. Airy and open and clean and the barkeep was very chatty and nice to me and my wife! We'll be back to try lunch!

Very good Irish Pub food. We had the Irish nachos, reuben, and bangars and mash. All was very tasty. Place is smaller but good atmosphere, what you expect for a pub. Staff was very friendly and pretty attentive. We definitely will come back and bring friends. Since it is downtown plan to walk just a little.

Actually, the food is good, the drinks are good, and everything should be at a minimum of four stars. However, there is a huge PR problem that is plaguing this otherwise nice spot. Both times I have come here, the same (intoxicated) guy has picked a fight with a member of our party. The PR kiss of death for the TK is that this guy claims to be partial owner of the establishment. Last night, my friend and I came back to our table to find this angry, argumentative man had seated himself there. I remembered him from my only previous trip (see below). He began screaming at my companion, pitched a tantrum, and basically made it impossible to stay at our table, which he was an uninvited guest to, to begin with! Among other insanities, he was yelling "call the cops on me" and generally making a very loud ass of himself. A cringeworthy performance, indeed. The (actual, I think) owner was very nice and comped our drinks, which was appreciated. I am not sure why he puts up with the antics of this individual. We were at the TK a few weeks ago, the first time I had been there, and we were enjoying ourselves, happy that Puyallup had a great new pub. Everything was great until the same drunk guy picked a fight with my boyfriend. That time he was yelling things like "where's your bar" and "where's your quarter million dollars" -- again, death by douchebag, from a PR standpoint. I gave TK a second chance because Puyallup needs a spot like this, and I hoped that what happened with my boyfriend was a fluke. Unbelievably, the belligerent drunk guy yelling at customers has been a consistent feature of my experience there. What a shame. I hope this establishment gets this loose cannon under control, because TK has a lot of potential -- great food (Reuben sliders are amazing), good drinks, everybody else that is affiliated with the place is very professional, friendly, and deserving of better than having their business undermined in this manner.

Been here a few times, twice to eat. Service is always slow and unfriendly - they need more help. Two bartenders handling everything on a busy Saturday night doesn't cut it. Food is OK for Bar food but nothing special. Drinks are overpriced ($7.50 for a vodka tonic), and they add an automatic 20% gratuity for a party of 6. Go to Doyle's public house in Tacoma for a much better experience.

The service is always spectacular, the drinks are well priced and the food is tasty. They seem to cater to people from all walks of life.. Amazing how the mentality downtown is so different from on the hill. I want to thank the Kilt for giving me somewhere to go when I visit my family in Puyallup!

Food was very good however the service was less than good. If not for the food quality I would never go back. Couldn't get our second drink order and had to one of the 3 dishes we ordered was wrong. Sorry TK wanted to give you such a great review

We stopped by on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere, excellent and attentive service. My fiance had a burger and a couple IPA's, I had a salad that was huge and satisfying as well as a cup of their soup and a glass of wine. The meal was so great, we even got their 'Better than Sex German chocolate cake" and it was...almost. Under $50 with the tip and I tip well!!

FYI For some reason the rollover rating is not working for me at the moment, ans is giving thema 5 stars - I am sure you will figure out that is not the case. I Visited the Twisted Kilt last night, sorely disappointed at the experience after trying several times to find it not packed - hubby got home a little early from work and we hoped it would not be full yet on a Tuesday at 5. It was not crowded at all, but apparently the downtown Puyallup drunk (from the comments before mine it seems he has some investment in the place) already had a head start on the night. The sandwich we had was Ok, but really we did not enjoy it, during our wait the Ahole drunk was looking for trouble, flipping passerby off and running out the door into the street and screaming at an elderly couple to get into the place, then being chased down presumably by the real owner who gives a crap, then smirking between verging on the edge of passing out. No matter how good the food is, or how geat the waitressess are, they are going to have to come to a fast realization NO one wants to eat with one hand in a fist ready to take someone down if needed. I know we wished we had gone to Crockett's, which we had been to three times, in the last 2 weeks, 2x when Twisted Kilt was packed. and we wish had gone last night, it would have been a great evening. Interesting thing is, I stoppped at store store downtown today, got to talking about how nice Puyallup is shaping up, and then I mentioned my experience here, and the owner of the store mentioned she had never been to your place, but that she had heard a lot about a guy who is drunk at that bar......Too sad one idiot is screwing up what could be a good thing. Sounds like total "Mama's boy" behavior, just very sad.

Stopped in the first time this last Saturday, and I have to say, I was impressed. Puyallup has really been needing something new downtown and I think we finally got what we were all waiting for. Small, but intimate setting (seating maybe 50 inside and an additional 20 on their outdoor patio - which is awesome) Decor is done perfectly to create that local neighborhood pub feel. There wasn't a game when we were there, but I imagine the atmosphere to be incredibly fun when there is one. we didn't eat, just drinks but the prices were very reasonable...hoping those aren't the "we just opened and haven't balanced our budget yet" rates. $12 pitcher of micro, $1 jello shots - pretty good deals. I'll definitely be back :)

One word AWESOME, for everything! Food, service & libations! This place has the best fish & chips that I've ever had, better than the UK! Their reuben sliders are also a must. The menu size is small but packs a punch. The onion rings have a heavy english batter with good flavor. Buffalo wings have good flavor but the blue cheese is chunky mmmm. I had the bangers and mash which was as good as any I had in England but the mash could have been hotter. My lunch mate had the ruben and was lovin it and I only got a nibble, damn jew. Good Guiness on tap, dining in water cups could have been bigger for less refills. Overall loved it and cannot wait to bring my family and friends.

I just had lunch at the Twisted Kilt and went with a bunch of co-workers for lunch. The ambiance was nice and the decor was pretty good too. My friend ordered the Finnian (sp?) -- she said it was good but wished the coleslaw was on the side instead of in the sandwich, my other friend ordered the Irish Meatballs -- he said that they were delicious. His plate was CLEAN, so it must have been good. There were only three meatballs but they were a really good size. My boss and other co-worker each had a burger with the fried egg on top -- they said it was one of the best burgers they ever had. I had the KIlt Classic burger with no mayo but asked for the fried egg (which they forgot) and I have to agree...it was cooked a little more than medium (per my request) and it was soooooooo good. Last but not least, my last co-worker had the Chef salad -- he said it was good but they forgot to put an egg on it. So...the food overall was pretty darn good. The bartender was really nice but the wait was painfully long. We probably waited about 40 minutes for our food. They gave us the chef salad for free (which was really nice and we didn't even ask for them to do that) but the salad came out last! They refilled our sodas but we probably could have used one more refill. They automatically included tip which should have been told BEFOREHAND or included on their menu. Today's service (mostly time waiting for food) was not what I would call great. In fact, it was down right painful. However, the food was DELICIOUS and the bartender did check on us occasionally. I will have to go back to see if today's visit was a fluke. Hopefully the food will taste just as good as it did today on my next visit. Not too much room but it was fine for our group of 6. Did I mention the food was good? :-)

The people who work at the kilt are always friendly and right on top with there service. The owners, you can tell take pride in their bar. The establishment has a good mix of people. I have never any problems. And I really love the food, eaten there all times of the day and had most everything on the menu and its all been excellent. I can see this place being around for a long time.

I read through some of the reviews here and fully agree with Sweetie P. This place has a ton of pontential. The food is pretty damn good. The beer selection is respectuf. Service is good. However, the place is turning into a place for drunk A-holes. This last Saturday night, 11-5, another fight broke out. This was after an overserved drunk axx threw up all over the couch then all over the sidewalk. This place has a ton of potential and I very, very much want it to succeed. Hell, its walking distance from my house! But, I'm a 40yo guy who wants to go have a beer and some food w/o an axxhole puking next to me. From what I understand, the staff on Fri and Sat nights are in over their heads trying to keep up with orders etc. The young women aren't really in a position to act as bouncers. Owner(s): here's my suggestion: On Fri and Sat nights, hire an off-duty cop to sit right outside. It will send the message that you're not gonna put up with any sh*t. Of, if you don't wanna do that, hire some muscle headed dude to check ID's and keep order. You should probably hire the cop for a few months and follow that up with the bouncer...forever. If someone comes in there and starts something...BOOT THEM ... FOREVER. If you continue to allow this junk to happen, normal, middle aged people like myself wont come in anymore and you'll be left with the rif raf. Cheers!

Outstanding. Really enjoyed myself despite the crap I went through to get here. We got lost from the airport to our apartment in Beacon Hill and wound up out here. I wasn't expecting much. Believe me. An irish pub? It's all about Guiness and meat and I dont like either one. Imagine my surprise that I got a GREAT drink (!!!) AND sauteed vegetable dish (made specifically for me!). They had hard apple cider on tap and they add a shot of cinnamon whiskey to it and call it an angry hoar. It was DELICIOUS. I mean DEEEEEELICIOUS!!!! I had 2!!! We really had such a good time here. Great drinks, a special made tasty meal. Oh. So, about that. When the bartender asked if I wanted to eat I said I'm a vegetarian and there's nothing on the menu for me. He said they could absolutely make me some vegetables. Cool. The chef came out shortly after and asked if I like mustard greens and kale and stuff, he had just gotten a sample from his food vendor and wanted to try them out! He brought out a very simple, yet very tasty dish of sauteed greens with onions, garlic and salt and pepper. My over all experience here was awesome. Great people. Great service. Great food. Me very very happy!

.Went for lunch. Ordeed Gouda Bites - they arrived nice and hot, and browned beautifully. Reuben - The sandwich was delicious, the bread was toasted and the sandwich was warm, and not soggy (from the sauerkraut). The chips were heated (deep fried) potato chips (didn't ask if they made their own, but they were good and crunchy). Shepherds Pie, and got the large one. I had to take it home, but did taste it, and it was very good as well. It was not greasy, and had plenty of good flavor, with peas, carrots, and onions incorporated into the lamb with mashed potatoes on top. Yes, it was a bar as opposed to a restaurant, and it was small, but the food was good. I would go there again.

This place smelled so horrible... Like B.O., mold and fecal matter... We literally choked down a drink (a vodka soda that was basically vodka with ice, I watched her pour it) and booked it after paying only to be accused of "running away" by some regulars as they were smoking on the street. Yeah... Real charming.

Great Atmosphere, food is average(have to try more to be sure), drinks are gone before they ask you want another. The place has been busy all the times I have stopped by. I was expecting Irish music but they were playing top 40. Didn't feel like an Irish bar. Overall, okay place.

It's certainly no Doyles but its got Paddy Coynes beat. The meat/potatoe ratio on the Shepards Pie was way off. Too much potatoe. The taste was just OK but it was filling (cuz of the potatoe). Skip the meatballs. Minus 1/2 star b-cuz they were out of Smithwicks (a travesty). The Irish Dip's corned beef was great but it needed a heartier roll. The hoagie roll got soggy in the powdered, tastless Au Jus. Saw a burger come out that looked awesome. I'm kicking my own ass b-cuz the chalkboard said they had 2fer1 burgers at lunch and I had already finished my meal when I saw that burger.

Popped in for a quick bite and walked out thinking this is the best kept secret in Puyallup. Exactly what a neighborhood Pub should be. Lots of TV's, good atmosphere, full bar and terrific food and did I say very friendly and efficient wait staff who offered some good recommendations. Loved the Reuben sliders! Good menu selection all around. Looking forward to trying some more items next time I go...which will be soon.

Definetley a fun bar and agreed that its what Puyallup needed (where else is there to go? 2J's or Waynes?). To be cliche we went there on St. Patricks day, they were giving out little tickets for a free beer. Lol, my only complaint is that the bartenders cut me off ;)

Eh. Tilted Kilt was alright. The food was nothing special, just decent pub food. The environment just wasn't my style. This was our first time at the Twisted Kilt. We were able to park right out front which was really nice. I am not sure about additional parking. Once inside the bar/restaurant is a nice size Irish pub. This was a Sunday night and it was about half full (Pro bowl game). Very nice atmosphere and it was nice to have the large number of TVs to watch the game and other sporting event. We ordered the Finnian and the Reuban. The Finnian was good but the Reuben was fantastic. It was the best Reuben I have ever had. The beer was good and the service was great. The price for the food and drink really topped things off. We will definitely be back with friends.

Place is nice the staff is friendly! It's very small and we got stuck at a table by the door. We kept getting hit all night by the door. After a few drinks it didn't matter so much! My biggest complaint is it is very very small. However it's one of the only "nice" bars downtown so you have to deal with it. The food was good, drinks are good price. It's a sports bar. If sports are you thing this is the place for you! We'd go back!

I went to the twisted kilt multiple times. All the times that I went there I was not impressed. The service is slow and horrible and so was there food. I try to avoid TK like the plague!

Very good Irish Pub food. We had the Irish nachos, reuben, and bangars and mash. All was very tasty. Place is smaller but good atmosphere, what you expect for a pub. Staff was very friendly and pretty attentive. We definitely will come back and bring friends. Since it is downtown plan to walk just a little.

.Went for lunch.

This is the first time i ordered here! i had to wait over 40 mins for an to go order and on top of that when I got home I was missing half of my order. Plus there were no forks or napkins. Overall, the food i did get tasted horrible. I will definitely not be coming back. Very disappointed!!!

    (1)
  • Andrea H.

    (1)
  • James S.

Great Atmosphere, food is average(have to try more to be sure), drinks are gone before they ask you want another. The place has been busy all the times I have stopped by. I was expecting Irish music but they were playing top 40. Didn't feel like an Irish bar. Overall, okay place.

  • Christi H.

Meh.

Was top notch - Those days are over! Went in for lunch the "bartender" has no clue what she is selling. Fish was under cooked to the point of being pasty. Tarter looked/tasted spoiled. Nobody can make a homemade tarter? Save your money and seek out another local place.

Good place for variety and decent food. I liked the Irish Nachos. If you're cruising for ass, this is a good place to hit up. I go with my wife, so that's a foregone conclusion for me. All around, this is a good place to go late and close out.

I've been here a few times, but here is the reason I am giving it four stars: THE REUBEN. It's perfect. Like... maybe it exceeds perfect? I don't know. That would be hasty of me. But, I stand behind my review when I tell you that it's the best ever. Also, they have a $10 all you can eat breakfast buffet, and who doesn't love an ALL YOU CAN EAT buffet that includes Lucky Charms?! Yeah, you read that right. Lucky Charms. Magically delicious, for real. Well done, TK. Oh, and their bar stools swivel. I don't know why I love that, but I really and truly do. I'm so glad we took the time to run down for a late breakfast/early lunch on this Saturday morning!

5 Stars all the way. Pub Chips were perfect.. not too crisp yet not too soft. The Finnian Sandwich was amazing. Service is great and the atmosphere is fun, laid back and overall great. The owner is engaging which adds a lot to this place.

Fantastic!

  • Christi H.

Beer.

The staff was very courteous and on point, the fish and chips I rated 5 star, large portions, fresh beer battered and cooked to perfection! 4 stars only because not a lot of seating very small and no air conditioning.

The best shepherds pie! Great beer specials! Can get pretty packed in here but generally good people and good times.

Im not one for faux pubbery, its a bit schmaltzy for my tasted, but this place has a very nice feel. Airy and open and clean and the barkeep was very chatty and nice to me and my wife! We'll be back to try lunch!

  • Dan G.

  • Gari H.

Meh.

  • Harmoni W.

This is the first time i ordered here! i had to wait over 40 mins for an to go order and on top of that when I got home I was missing half of my order. Plus there were no forks or napkins. Overall, the food i did get tasted horrible. I will definitely not be coming back. Very disappointed!!!

    (1)
  • Andrea H.

    (1)
  • James S.

Great Atmosphere, food is average(have to try more to be sure), drinks are gone before they ask you want another. The place has been busy all the times I have stopped by. I was expecting Irish music but they were playing top 40. Didn't feel like an Irish bar. Overall, okay place.

  • Trinity S.

Really stiff drinks! Good bar food too ;)

Good place for variety and decent food. I liked the Irish Nachos. If you're cruising for ass, this is a good place to hit up. I go with my wife, so that's a foregone conclusion for me. All around, this is a good place to go late and close out.

  • Jake K.

Food was very good however the service was less than good. If not for the food quality I would never go back. Couldn't get our second drink order and had to one of the 3 dishes we ordered was wrong. Sorry TK wanted to give you such a great review

Fantastic!

5 Stars all the way. Pub Chips were perfect.. not too crisp yet not too soft. The Finnian Sandwich was amazing. Service is great and the atmosphere is fun, laid back and overall great. The owner is engaging which adds a lot to this place.

The service is always spectacular, the drinks are well priced and the food is tasty. They seem to cater to people from all walks of life..

It was super crowded, had a long wait for the bathroom, and our served seemed to have a bit of arrogance. It wasn't the worst place I've ever been, just not the greatest either.

If you like true shepherd's pie, then this is your place. Support the local community and stop in for a black & tan and some authentic Irish grub!

I have been twice and enjoyed both visits (will be back for more) Food was great both times (try the Rubin sandwich) - love that they have Harp on tap. Wish they would allow minors during the day though. Perfect for a casual date night.
