The Rock Wood Fired Kitchen Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I normally go to the Federal Way location, but their service is kind of slow there. This is the first time visiting the Puyallup location and my service was a lot quicker. I sat at the bar on a Saturday night with a part of 9 and the bartender, Maddy, was very quick and attentive. Which was great considering how busy it was. I'll definitely be coming back to this location. Also, try the brown sugar mozz bread. Its delicious.

Our server had the most fake annoying voice and wait time for everything was beyond ridiculous. Her voice was beyond words. I think I was just getting more annoyed with her hovering and talking rather than giving us our pizza. The pizza crust is so so, the only thing I like about this place is that it is accommodating for dogs. I absolutely hate the motif and decor they have going on, I personally don't like sitting in restaurants that are way too dark for me to see what the hell it is I'm eating. If I want to eat in a dungeon I would do so, not at an establishment that pretends to be rockabilly and rock oriented.

Decent Puzza for the price Really cool decor Average food and service I would come back with friends

we had an excellent experience tonight at the Rock in Puyallup. Lauren was our server. she was very attentive, but not over so. My wife had the get back mac and cheese, and me and my sone split a large pizza that was half meaty beaty big and bouncy and the other hage was revelution.

I tried some pasta and fried calamari about 5 or 6 years ago, and I remembered it being okay, but not great enough to need to go back. I decided to try out The Rock again with my brother and sister. I decided to order the Hurts So Good Burger, and it was pretty good. And I ordered the sweet potato fries with it, which I really liked. May be one of my favorite sweet potato fries; it was nice and crispy. And the service was wonderful.

Went in hoping to do the lunch buffet . I called prior to coming in for buffet . Was told on the phone that it was mon-Friday 11am-2pm . Walked in and was told by the waitress that it was Friday only . Was very disappointed by the mis comuncation. However the lunch menu was decent with reasonable prices . I enjoy the cod tacos and they many different pizzas.

Mylla is great. She was great with my kid no being able to make up her mind at first. Super sweet :D

These dudes were great during the massive blackout that reigned supreme over Washington State yesterday. They had on music and low lighting and were cooking like crazy. I decided to give'em a try. Very good food. If I'm in the area, I'll likely be back. Misty, my waitress, was a total sweetheart. Thank you!

Great original Pizza's! If this place delivered, I'd never order anything else. Good atmosphere, good happy hour and lunch buffet, even better music!

  • Eric L.

The Rock provides great service, but the food was noting special to me. The ambiance was that of a super-grungy Hard Rock Cafe.

  • Brian W.

I've eaten here a couple of times while out on business in WA. I must keep forgetting that the pizza here is pretty greasy and not that great. The service is friendly, and the vibe is a little 80's Rock n Roll for kids. It's relatively inexpensive, but there are definitely better places to get pizza.

    (2)
  • Miranda B.

Pizza here is so-so. The salad bar is nothing special either. The only reason I gave The Rock 2 stars is because they have good, strong drinks. They have giant margaritas that are awesome, as well as a variety of other good drinks!

  • Belynda H.

The pizza was great I had the meaty Beaty. I sat at the bar the bartenders were great. Hot for teacher is such a tasty drink as well as the Godzilla. I would love to go back to this location for more good food and good drinks.

  • Dylon B.

The rock is great! I've been coming here for awhile and never had a complaint. I usually sit at the bar and couldn't ask for better service. Kyndra is an amazing bartender, never misses a beat, always attentive and never without a smile. As far as the food goes, I could eat anything on the menu. The atmosphere is really unique and they're always willing to change the tv's to whatever I suggest. Definitely a go to bar.

Worst place ever. Customer service sucked and when we went it wasn't even busy. Waitress never came back to refill drinks and took forever to pay our bill.

This was the worst experience I've ever had at a pizza joint had to wait a half an hour for food two hamburgers to be delivered we at Dale bread waitress never came around to see if we needed anything the hamburgers were cooked wrong we wanted well done they came back medium it took another 20 minutes just to get the extra hamburger and all they gave us was a free hamburger they didnt charge for the hamburger. And to top it off there was only us and another couple in there waiting to be served. I dont recommend yhe business.

I absolutely love coming here. I recently moved here for the military. I came here and loved it. I'm making it a regular thing to come here often. They are family friendly and the food is amazing! Oh and Mylla our server is always courteous excellent with part-time.

  • Amber P.

Maddie took great care of us at the bar. She is exactly what you are looking for in a bartender when you just want to chill out and do some day drinking! She was friendly and personable. Checked in and got free mozzarella bread, which is one of our favorites. Food was good and came out in a timely manner, but we weren't really paying much attention or in a rush. We shared the Founders Pie which was pepperoni, sausage and ricotta cheese. Classic pizza, yummy! Enjoy the music and the atmosphere. We will be back.

Went there with a large group and was seated after and hour and a half, didn't get our food for another 45 minutes and all my friends who got burgers had black crusted burned all the way through , severely well done patties instead of however they ordered them. Another one of my friends had ordered a shot on the rocks at the bar and received a glass OVERFLOWING with ice and half a ounce of whiskey. My pizza wasnt bad and the server was so nice and apologetic. It was obvious all the bad service we received was out of her control, hence the two stars instead of 0 or 1.

Thank You Myla (bartender) for being such a sport!!! Hahaha .."and she wishes" inside joke!! Always a great time spent here! Meeting random folks and hearing their stories are hilarious As always, best crew! Shawn, Mackenzie (& Olivia), Maddy, Paige, Liz, Sarah, Molly, Jessica

Had a party scheduled here, asked if we could use the upstairs and was told no by the manager because it was an inconvenience for him. So we offered to help get it set up if we could n he kicked us out. So I asked for his bosses number because he kicked out 8 kids celebrating their basketball season. The kids are 7-8 years old. The manager didn't want to give me any contact information probably because his behavior was disgusting. When I asked him for the contact information he told me and I quote "let's go outside". No I'm a little woman I am not going outside with a grown man acting extra aggressive and hostile

  • Molly L.

I came in after having a pretty bad day at work to have a beer with a couple of friends and Kyndra served us at the bar. She was so helpful with recommendations and the service was great! Thank you for turning my day around!

Since moving to Puyallup from Michigan in January, this is one of my ABSOLUTELY favorite places to go. They have fantastic food, but their drinks?!? Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh their drinks. I HIGHLY recommend a lemon drop sampler, beer sampler, Bucket O Booze (margarita or Long Island), Purple Haze, or the orange dreamcicle. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not an alcoholic, but when we go out for drinks, we go to The Rock - So many other places we've been to have had watered down drinks. You'd think for $10, the Long Island you ordered wouldn't be very strong, but it's STRONG. For $10 (or $7, I can't remember), the Lemondrop sampler? They aren't little shot glasses but what look like double or triple shot glasses. Any of my friends from Michigan that come to visit will DEFINITELY be getting a meal and drinks here - We love it so much we even spent my BIRTHDAY at it in April. We had a friend visiting from Michigan and we went here on Friday and Saturday - It was great! As far as food goes, I HIGHLY recommend the pizza and brown sugar breadsticks. Unfortunately, we haven't had anything else there because we like the pizza too much! :)

  • Tres B.

The rock and roll cliches are well played here. Its vibrant, fun and a bit costumey and goofy like Kiss. The servers are very well trained, very attentive and exceptionally friendly on both my visits here. the pizza is execellent, especailly the crust, though I found the sauce to be a bit too acidic. The ingredients are top notch. I also had the mushrooms app. on another visit and I found them to be remarkably bland. What is most remarkable is the generous serving of cheese bread which is literally the best I've ever had. Dont miss this. In fact, bread and a beer and you're good to go.!

  • Tina U.

Decided to come here on a Friday night. Was expecting it to be busy, but got a table in the bar right away. Our server Mylla was outstanding. She recommended the most delicious adult beverage ever!! Get the Godzilla. Yum!! Our food was hot and great. Made just how we asked. Thank you for your bubbly attitude and great service!

  • Alekkz H.

The Rock is okay. I thought I wrote a review back when I visited, but I guess not? It's never too late to write a review (: Especially when you can recall the exact dining experience you had at a restaurant. The place was dark and I liked it, only one issue, taking pictures of food was a pain. I can't recall what we ordered but we had a pizza and some cheesy bread sticks? It was alright, not that great. I really wanted to come here when I turn 21 so I can try their drinks and enjoy my meal.

    (3)
  • Richard H.

I've had better pizza other places, and its very loud here as they crank up the Rock n Roll music- which I dont mind I just want to hear myself think lol, the food last time I went here was so-so, but I would disagree with Destiny in saying Dominos is better, from the last two experience I had between the two- The Rock wins hands down.

  • Sabrina H.

Our family loves the rock, no matter which one we go to it is always tasty and people that work there are nice and take good care of you! We have had drinks here as well which are good as well! We bring family here from out of town all time because it's not you average pizza place and every single person has loved it! Also our kids bag to go here every time they see the sign!

Kyndra is the best bartender at the Rock! Every Time my husband and I go in she is super friendly and sweet !

Food is always tasty, but service is hit and miss at ALL locations. I have been to each of them and depending on wether you get the A squad or the B sqaud waiters, you may be disapointed. he cheesburger wrap is my fave! They just removed it from the menu, BOOO! But they will still make it for me which is awesome! All of their pizzas are really good, and the mozz bread is to die for!!!!

You know when you get that craving and you just gotta have it :-). Whole roasted garlic pizza, yay!!! Only place around that has it and cooked right. So I thought ... :-(. Called it in along with a different order for my wife. Got there to check my eats and so looking forward to this. Forgot to mention that I emphasize the whole garlic. And the person on the phone and also helped me at the store read me the order with emphasis to the garlic. So opened up the box ... Bummer city, no garlic - really?. Embarrassed he quickly went back to the kitchen. Comes back minutes later. They just tossed it on top after a feeble attempt of cooking the garlic. I told him that doesn't look good and he said they can remake but would take an hour. Not a good answer. Unfortunately I was not feeling well and just did not have the energy to argue so I left. Got to my car and my wife checked her pizza and it was wrong as well. She said she was fine and just wanted to leave. So in summary: 1. Service ... Two stars 2. Food ... Two stars only because it was edible. (Garlic was raw in the middle). 3. Will I go back? ... Its been a while and its going to be another long while before I go back. A lot of garlic was mentioned and I'm sure as far as vampires and other folks ... who really cares about the garlic? But it was more about the overall service and how they treated the mistakes.

Came here for the first time yesterday with my friends. The food was great loved the mozzarella bread. But the service sucked. Misti didnt care to check on us when my friend and I definitely could have used refills. Had an attitude like she didn't want to serve us and then reaked like cigarettes. GROSS!!! Will come back for the food but not if shes our waitress

Visits to The Rock are not complete without the Brown Sugar Mozzarella Bread! It's one of my favorites! They have a "newer" menu and are offering some new pizzas and sandwiches. I tried the BLT, which was great; it had a good amount of bacon. Their Caesar Salad is also really good; very large portion. They have changed their Salad Bar to only certain days...I think it's just Wednesday through Friday now? (I was there during lunch on a Tuesday and our waitress told me that it's only specific days for the salad bar.) Overall, it's a great place!

I am a fan of the Rock, but not this location. I brought my neighbor here for an early lunch, her first time at the Rock. We we politely asked to sit in the bar due to a large group in the regular dining area. No biggie. The waitress informed us that they no longer had the lunch specials menu, and also informed us that she had been away from work for some time. While we were told we could still order the ayce soup and salad, we opted for half bowls of the soup to try them out. Service was very inattentive even though the bar/restaurant was still empty considering how early it still was. The salad was soaked in dressing, and we never received our fresh bread rolls (which seem to usually accompany the soup at every other rock location). While I would normally expect the wait staff to ask if we wanted separate checks, this waitress merely dropped the check off on the table and walked off. Most OTHER Rock locations have set the bar high, and sadly enough this location fell flat on its face.

First time here last night! We sat on the restaurant side and our server Oscar was really great! Though when we admitted we never been to their restaurant, he kinda stated the obvious (ie: inside the flap is the appetizers, then the pizza... basically showing us the menu like we couldn't read), but did describe how we can add things to pizzas and/or take off toppings. They brought out the garlic mozz bread (which came with ranch and marinara dipping sauce) and my caesar salad first and after a few bites, our main entrees came out. Holy moly that was extremely fast!! My husband ordered the Classic Rock pizza and he said it was pretty good. I was slightly full after my caesar salad and took a few bites of their Rigate, Broccoli & Chicken Pasta which was really good! Sauce was rich and creamy, but I wish there was more broccoli florets, but that's just me and my weird love for broccoli. Overall, really good meal! Oscar kinda disappeared towards the end of our meal and we waited for awhile til someone else showed up and offered us to go boxes. I would definitely come back though. Pretty good location, spacious, clean and pretty good service.

I've been going to various Rock locations for many many years. The food is usually good, the service fast and friendly. So why wouldn't this one in Puyallup be any different? Let's do lunch! I am going to have to seriously think about other restaurants next time I am in the area for a meal. The service was slow, and it wasn't even crowded. The food was at best mediocre. The chicken was dry and was fairly bland. Given that I have been going to various Rock's for years, I am inclined to give them another chance, but it might be a while and someone might have to twist my arm. The decor and atmosphere were pleasant, but when you are hungry you want food, not decor. Bottom line: The Rock can be great, this location just needs to step it up a bit.

The Rock in Puyallup used to be one of my go to spots for good pizza and a good atmosphere, sadly this is not the case anymore. My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday night and it was practically dead, now I know why. We ordered the BBQ specialty pizza and I am pretty sure Dominoes makes a better pizza. It looked like all the toppings fell off! Each slice only had a tiny piece of pork on it, SERIOUSLY? I didn't spend $17 on a pizza with no toppings! By the time it got to us it was also bordering on the lukewarm side. I also ordered a Godzilla drink, I was very surprised it was not green...so that was a bit confusing. For the price, the drink was weak and not very good. I'm not sure I will be back again, I will probably just go to Farelli's!

  • Rob R.

As good as it gets for pizza in the area. I have to give this place a five star not because it is the best place overall in the area that will give you a good pie and good experience. It by all means is not a five star establishment but is as good as it gets in the area. Get the bang a gong and a bucket and you will be good.

Had a great time for lunch today at The Rock. Kyndra the server was terrific, she was prompt with food and drink and was very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend The Rock at this location, it is one of the better ones I have been to in the area. They had a terrific deal for lunch all-you-can-eat pizza and 1 beer for 10.99, it also came with a Caesar or garden salad. Great music great atmosphere great food I reserve five stars for fine dining otherwise it would've received the fifth.

The Rock has always been a staple of mine, where my boyfriend and I go for date nights and where we take our family for some good food and a chill atmosphere. Tonight my experience there changed everything and I will never eat here or any of the other locations again. The service was good, but the food was awful. Apparently companies think that they can pump up customers with a "new menu" but completely change the food quality and keep their prices the same. I had the shrimp scampi (which is my go-to item when I'm not feeling pizza) and it was disgusting and flavorless. Even the salad tasted different and I could tell that the dressing had been changed as well as the cheese. I came home and hopped on their website to see if I could figure out why the heck they did a 180 and came across what I believe seems to be an explanation. "There are opportunities to grow nationwide and we are excited to welcome new franchisees to The Rock's family!" Apparently The Rock has gone corporate. Such a shame. Hopping on the bandwagon of driving out costs by purchasing poor quality food and charging customers the same, if not more for those dishes. This was one of the only good places in Puyallup to eat and hang out and now they have become an epic fail in my book, along with all of the other chains in the area.

Great place fun atmosphere... Luke to bring my family, don't feel like we are disrupting everyone around us!

  • Nikki G.

Not a bad place for a themed ( kinda) place. A little pricey but some good flavors. We personally love the brown sugar bread sticks for our appetizer. Yup yummy. Good side salads too. Some of the sauces on the entrees are a wee bit rich. Feels a bit pricey but not bad for a date night. They do have dome dangerous mixed drinks. Sand buckets of rum. Only two per person and that might be one to many. Tastes nice and fruity goes down quickly, eek. Seems to be very popular drink when I look around. Their own beers aren't to bad. Not a place I would go to alot. My waistline would be mad but is nice to visit a few times a year for a fun tasty time.

One of the poorest buffets I have ever had today.

    (2)
  • Brittany C.

My five star review is primarily for the service I received today. The food was slightly above average, but the service was perfect. I often take myself out to lunch to relax and do some reading and the service you get as a single diner varies greatly. Today Kyndra (I think) the bartender and the pizza crew were exceptional. They were very welcoming and took great care of me, with kind and genuine personalities, going out of their way to ask if they could make something for the buffet I would enjoy, being proactive and efficient with clearing plates and getting refills, and being attentive without hovering. This was the best service I have had at a restaurant in a while and I was very impressed.

This place has decent pizza and gross beer and the worst part....way over priced!!!!!!

  • Kayla D.

The last time we went here it wasn't even close to closing time, and there were a few people seated when we walked in. We waited a good 5-10 minutes and nobody greeted us or sat us down, we didn't even see an employee while we were there. We left after being tired of waiting and haven't been back since. This was quite a few months ago though.

Great atmosphere poor taste though. This place has a great reputation and while the inside is gorgeous and fun, the pizzas we got were bland and uninspired. I enjoyed 1 of the 3 but I expected more.

First off this place closes at 12midnight on a Friday night and I was told upon arriving at 11:05 that I had 5mins to order a drink (alcohol) cause it was already last call, then was told we can only order pizza cause the rest of the menu was unavailable. I won't be returning to this place. Rock bar my ass!! Very disappointed.

Pizza here is amazing! I prefer sitting in the bar so I can watch the games... during the AL Championships I was there everynight watching my A's and they were nice enough to change the channel for me! Get the house beer....

  • Pasquale L.

Good pizza, friendly service, great prices so give it a shot. The night I went late on weeknight was very slow so cannot say much about the atmosphere as there was probably only about two other parties in the entire restaurant.

  • Michael I.

Walked in about 10:30PM on a Saturday night. Place was pretty much empty surprisingly. Quickly seated, quickly served by a very nice waitress. Ordered a cheese pizza w/ half bacon and a cherry coke. The coke was regular coke with cherry added after and 3 cherries on top. Definitely a good start. The pizza came kind of quickly. It doesn't take long for pizzas when your using a wood fired oven. Very tasty and exactly what I was craving. I wish it had a little bit more bacon but all in all, not a bad pizza. You could definitely taste the wood fired oven taste in the crust on the ends. Solid experience, no complaints at all.

I hold businesses to a slightly higher than usual benchmark as I am in the customer service industry. The Rock got 2 stars due to the food, and the service/atmosphere/employees dragged it down. Walked in and waited for a seat. Sat ourselves after 2 min. Was' greeted' after 30 sec of seating. Where were you hostess? Oh, my bad. Flirting with the 17 yr old busboy. Should he even be in the bar? On us like stink on poo for an order which was decent, after the order food came out in about 5 min. Seriously, I'm not Batalli but I know pasta takes longer than that to cook. Over cheesed and over salted to compensate for the beer I presume. Regardless my wife's Mac and Cheese was dry and flavorless. Then when I had to hunt the server down for the check she stated: 'Was the Mac and cheese bad?' 'Why yes, it was.' 'Oh, ok.' Really?! Check was prompt and we scooted immediately. Didn't want the herp catching to the clothes, ya know? BTW: when we were there not one employee observed the '10 ft rule.' guess management is new as well. Management: Call Comfort Inn, they can educate your staff to basic service. After trying a new spot in the South Hill neighborhood we will not be returning. Go if you and the frat boys want to get wasted on sugared booze and sub par eye candy. That is all.

  • Corinne M.

I used to love this place and I'd go to it all of the time. Lately the pizza has been tasting really chewy or really crisp, and the toppings haven't even been warm, how does that happen if they cook it when you order it? I went this past summer, because it was too hot to cook, and that place was SO HOT and uncomfortable, I asked why it was so hot in there, and I was told that the ovens get the place really warm and that the owners were to cheep to get a decent air conditioning system, WOW I couldn't believe that they said that. Anyways, I've been back there several other times, and it's just not as good. Federal way, and Lacey, and Tacoma ones "ROCK".

  • Pete A.

We came in during happy hour and I just assumed the drinks were happy hour priced....nope....everything was. 2 beers (awesome) an appetizer and an incredible 9" pizza and my bill totaled out at about $18. I was shocked not just by the value but how good everything was too. Nice charred crust just the way it should be and perfect taste as well. Was in town on business but wish I had this place near me, I'd be a regular!

  • L B.

went here after giving up on trying to find Ayothaya, the service is indifferent and unknowable. The space is loud, they must have an upstairs, the entire time I could hear people\kids running back and for over my head. The place is dark, I guess it goes with the classic rock vibe and hasn't been cleaned since the 70's. The food is average at best...grand opening...grand closing.

The Rock has never disappointed me until today! Their buffet is now Wednesday through Friday! We walked in and the people in front of us left (family of 3) and then me and my fiancé left because we wanted the buffet and it was not available!. That was roughly 45 dollars in sales that you guys lost in a matter of 2minutes! I have no idea why you guys did this :(:(:( learn to adjust how much you guys put out to make a profit! Round table does it! Bad, bad idea to cancel the buffet on Mondays and Tuesdays!

I always get the Crazy Train pizza but this time I decided on a burger (no bun) to cut down on my wheat consumption. My burger was excellent with TONS of bacon on it. My husband had his usual Meaty, Beaty, Big & Bouncy (meat lovers) and is never disappointed. We seated ourselves in the bar and were waited on immediately. My husband asked our server to change the channel on the TV so he could watch the Seahawks and it was immediately taken care of. We LOVE The Rock!

Tasty pizza with plenty of choices, including several vegetarian options. Really like pizza crust, just the right amount of dough and crunch. The service was very good. There was a mistake on our order, which will happen, but the way it was handled is the real test of service, and I have to say it was handled very well. Enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere.

The wood fired pizza is just as good as anything I had in Italy. The pizza Buffett is awesome & THE way to go.

If I could give this place a negative star I would. Horrendous service and bad food. I guess when you go to a pizza joint you should order pizza. I guess that was mistake #1. I had the BTO BLT and my husband had a hockey puck, I mean the "famous" Rock burger. My sandwich was all lettuce and tomato. Two thin, burnt, sad pieces of bacon found there way onto my sandwich along with the pound of mayo and shredded lettuce. My husbands burger was small and over cooked. It came with nothing but the burnt meat and a cold bun. He had to ask for mayo so that he might be able to choke it down. The fries were cold and sad. The waitress never came back to our table to check on us or to refill the only satisfying portion of our meal, the diet coke. I had a few bites of my sandwich before I opened it up to see if I could find the "thick cut wood fired" bacon the was promised. It was not meant to be. I will say that the manager did remove my meal from our check. Seeing as how I hardly touched it I probably would have pitched a fit if he had not. In the end, I ended up settling for a pre-made salad at Safeway. Can't imagine a circumstance where I would go back.

I always have a great time and good food here. The Rock converted me to a thin crust fan. The manager and staff give great customer service. I like to go for the lunch buffet, which is a great value. The take customer requests for favorite pizzas. Twice the manager brought a plate with slices of my requested pizza out to me. I am not a weekly patron there at all, but they remember and greet me personally when I go. I suggest the Crazy Train pizza or the My Generation. The Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy is a must have for meat lovers.

Ugh! The topping were clumped up and not evenly spread. They have alot of topping-less areas on the edge.. like 2 inches of "crust" all the way around. The place was super loud, if they had music I couldn't hear it. The pizza is about average. If I were you and you really wanted to try it, they do have a very diverse menu for a pizza place. The menus are HUGE and make ordering awkward. The bar side was pretty keen yet average. I do give them props for tidiness. It was pretty clean for a bar.

Typically I frequent the Meridian Rock about 3 times a month and have little to issues with the service. The food is always 4-5 star for a pizza restaurant. However, tonight I have received the absolute WORST service from this location and I have to honestly say, will NEVER be back. It started at 6:36 pm Sunday evening when I first walked in. I was greeted appropriately at the door, but requested to sit in the bar area. With a party of just two, we walked through the bar area for a booth. There were 2 booths with dirty plates on them and the rest of the bar area was entirely full. Realizing the wait in the restaurant was a good 20 mins, we waited in hopes someone would soon clean up the booths. at about 6:48, the two booths were still dirty with no bartender in site. We settled to sit at the bar until the booths were cleaned. Finally at 6:55 the bartender greeted us at the bar and immediately I asked if a booth could be cleaned so we can sit there. She said not a problem and proceeded to clean the booth for us. However, another couple (that came in well after we did) saw the booth was being cleaned and before I could get up out of the seat, (they) sat down at the dirty booth while she was clearing it off. The bartender didn't even notice it wasn't me sitting there and as I stood there looking like an idiot, she greeted them and looked at me realizing that was our booth. I sat back at the bar with a disgusted look as she came back to me and said, "I am sorry, i didn't realize that was a different couple." (The guy had a solid 40 lbs on me with a long goatee and a hat...looked NOTHING like me) so she started clearing off the second dirty booth. We were finally seated at about 7:02. (27 mins later to clear off 2 dirty booths) Ridiculous if you ask me. It was par for the course that the server showed up at 7:12 to finally take our drink order and after half of the bar had cleared out, she was still trying to figure out what was going on. Our order was taken and we didn't receive my iced tea and an alcoholic drink until 7:24. The food showed up at 7:42 and she dropped it and left. Didn't ask if everything looked right; because it wasn't. I noticed the usual french fries I get with my BLT are typically beer battered and these were plain. When she came back a few mins later, I asked if these are the usual fries and she responded, "no we are out of the beer battered." It would have been nice to know that before I ordered. We quickly finished our meal in disgust. Surprisingly, the check was dropped off quicker than anything else that took place that whole night! We left our card and it took 10 mins before she came back to drop it off and that is exactly what the server did; DROP it off. No "thank you." No "how was everything" and no "thanks and come again." So, apologies if you have mayonnaise stained seat cushions because your lackluster performing superstar of a server "forgot" to bring napkins and this was the only place to wipe my greasy french fried hands. We finally left the restaurant at exactly 8:02pm. You lost a loyal customer and if anyone ever asks about my experiences there, unfortunately they will be told of that last visit we had...

Let me preface this review by saying The Rock is one of my all time favorite restaurants. I have had nothing but fabulous service at the location in Tacoma and I was stoked when I realized that the location in Puyallup was five minutes away from my house. Needless to say...today the folks at The Rock were off their game. The good: Amazingly delicious pizza as always The not so good: When I got there there were a group of people waiting to be seated. We sat standing around for almost six minutes before a hostess appeared. She appeared kind of frazzled so I decided that I would just seat myself in the bar. However, there were three empty tables in the bar that were covered in used plates so I waited another few minutes for a table to be cleared. I waited a few moments for someone to acknowledge me and take my drink order but no one ever did. I finally decided to go to the buffet and grab some pizza and found that there were no plates available. Waited a minute for the guy to bring some more and saw that the pizza selection wasn't great. I am assuming it was super busy before I got there--let's give them the benefit of the doubt. Got back to my table, still no acknowledgment. Waited about 10 minutes, still never even saw a server. Got some more pizza and left my uneaten pasta on my plate (I still didn't have silverware). Finally after I had been sitting for fifteen minutes I had to approach the server and ask for silverware and a drink. Oh, the second time I went to get pizza there were no plates again. Went back a third time and it happened again. For awhile I felt like I was on one of those secret camera shows it was so ridiculous. After I had been sitting for 30 minutes I had to ask the waitress for my drink again because she still hadn't brought it. She was very quick to bring the check however- two minutes after she finally brought me my coke. Hopefully it was an off day but if it happens again I will just drive to Tacoma to get my pizza. Never once did the server ask me how my day was doing, if I needed anything, etc. The only reason why she even associated with me was because I went up to her. It was atrocious customer service from the beginning to the end. At the very least an apology or an explanation of why everything was taking so long would have made things better but she completely ignored me. The one saving grace was the plate guy. I don't know his name but he was awesome. Super apologetic about the ridiculous plate situation and when I said it was fine he acknowledged that it wasn't okay. He also came to my table to apologize again even though he wasn't my server. So plate guy--you rock.

Frequent here quite often for the lunch buffet. Immediately you get seated and immediately you get to eat. There are plenty of yummy pizzas to choose from, pastas, and a salad if you ask for one. Don't see your favorite pizza on the buffet line than just request they make if for you. Before long they are notifying you the pizza you requested is up and ready for the taking. They never charge us for our toddler, which we appreciate since he barely eats. I have tried almost all of their pizzas at the buffet which is great. I know exactly which pizzas are the ones I prefer and when I return for a dinner service I can purchase my full pizza with confidence.

I absolutely love this place! Especially the lunch buffet with its seriously wide variety of pizza choices. Always a bit crowded but a fun, busy atmosphere with excellent choice in decor and classic rock music. Pizza's are great and simply unusual. Once in a while get crust that isnt overly spectacular but its always worth coming back especially since bottom line.. its relatively cheap compared to other local restaurants and you get a lot of pizza for your money. Have great drink specials, buckets that are loaded with alcohol and tasty appetizers. Combine that with friendly (if always somewhat frazzled) staff and good music? Love it.

The Rock is awesome! Always good food and service. We usually eat in the bar and get excellent service! Last night I had the BBQ chicken salad with spinach instead of iceberg lettuce and they are always so nice about accomadating my special request cause it's my favorite salad. The new martini sampler on the drink menu is awesome! I just love this place! Always GREAT pizza too!

Amazing! I love pizza, and this was the best I ever had. The one I got had pepperoni, spicy italian sausage, spicy peppers, carmelized onions, and more. If I go back to Washington, I will DEFINITELY go back to this restaurant.

This review is solely based on service since i didnt even get a chance to eat here. Walked in with hubby and my daughter around 6pm on a wednesday and was told there was 10-15 minute wait. I looked around and saw empty tables everywhere but Im usually a patient person so we sat it down. After 5 minutes and seeing a couple tables leave I asked if we were waiting for people to leave. The hostess tells us no we are waiting for the wait staff to catch up. WTF. So i was suppose to wait 15 minutes with clearly a promise of shitty service when we sat down because they were "behind". The Rock Wood Fired pizza will just have to remain a mystery because I will never hit this place up and I hope to spread the word.

Just ok. Flashy menus and decor but the pizza left a lot to be desired. The extra hot wings aren't that hot but I liked the breading they use on them. I got the meaty Beaty big and beefy and like I said. It was just ok. These buckets of liquor they serve are fun and have a serious amount of booze in them. But only two per person which may be a good thing. The crust on the pizza reminds me of Domino`s (yuck). I did not have a problem with the service I just thought the food was processed and not good at all.

The pizza is pretty good. The decor is a weird zombie meats metal rock meets an old Western mine shaft that, at the very least, gives you a multitude of odd things to look at while consuming good, but overpriced pizza. The bucket drinks are a must. I took my bucket home and repeated the process without spending the $10.

The inside of this place was shockingly cool and I love how they serve that drink in the bucket. Niccccccce. Staff was busy but attentive. Pizza was OK but I think they can do better. What saved the low stars was definitely the fun atmosphere. Well done.

If you are an indecisive eater ("Oh, I don't know what to get, everything looks so good!" etc) go for the lunch buffet. The salad bar is fine (lettuce, olives, cherry tomatoes, onion, cucumbers, nothing extravagant) the pastas are passable (only 2 options, but they are tasty) but the PIZZA! Oh, the pizza... They have loads of different types, from the classics (plain cheese, pepperoni w/ cheese) to the decadent (White Christmas: garlic sauce, ricotta, and mozz) to the nearly bizarre (thai pizza anyone?). The staff is great (if a pizza you like isn't on the buffet already, request it), the atmosphere is fun, and the food is delicious!
