Chili Thai Restaurant Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

My husband and I really enjoyed our meal here. We ordered the fresh rolls without chicken and peanut sauce. These were better than most places, but small improvements like adding cucumber, soaking the rice paper longer, and adding another prawn would've made it even better. We also ordered the chicken pad thai, and the pineapple fried rice. The pad thai was good, but was a bit sweeter than others we've tried. The pineapple fried rice was really good! It had a bit of a curry taste to it, which I thought was unique. The only improvement I would've done to this dish would be to remove the raisins and tomato. Other than a few slight improvements to the food, the staff were very friendly and attentive. They told us thank you for coming in when we left, which is something I always appreciate. Overall we plan on coming back! It's nice to finally find a good Thai restaurant in Puyallup.

Meh. I honestly don't know how this place is still open except maybe a lot of people don't know what good Thai food is. I've eaten here 3 times, and have given up. Go to Bangkok Thai up the street. That place is amazing.

I have been here a few times and have tried the red curry and the prik King. The red curry isn't as spicy as I normally like it, but the prik King is tasty and has always had fresh green beans in it. I don't like that you have to order white rice in addition to your entree but not that big of deal I guess. Service is usually pretty quick during lunch but I'm here for dinner now and have had the slowest service! I think the waiter is new, which is fine I understand people have to learn somehow but I feel like maybe they should have had someone come along side to help, I felt bad that he was struggling. All in all, the experience is usually pleasant and I'll be back again but tonight it was so slow I had the time to write a review while waiting for the check. Hopefully this doesn't happen again.

We are pad Thai snobs and you can't beat this place! Great service and reasonable prices.

The second time in two years the manager has been very rude. I knew there was a reason I hadn't been back, (use to frequent 2 to 3 times per month) but I had forgotten over time. I ordered from the online menu. BUYER BEWARE--They will not honor their online prices. I was told that it states on their online menu that prices can change at any time, and was also told that the online menu prices hadn't been changed in the last two years. They have had more than enough time to update their online information, and this manager certainly shouldn't be arguing with customers, and try to make them feel petty for asking a simple question about their admitted pricing errors. My family of five used to love eating in this establishment in the past, and the one 20something male server/order taker was always kind and courteous and made his customers feel welcome. Unfortunately he is no longer there. As they say; with time there is change. Again, for the second time, my family and I won't be back anytime soon. One last note--don't ever expect to see an itemized receipt from this establishment. If you do question your bill be prepared to be passed off to her. She will be ready for you.

This was my favorite Thai restaurant and I really enjoyed all their food. Their Spicy Basil Fried Rice used to be my favorite Thai fried rice. But it seems like it is not as good as it used to be. Seems to be less flavor and more mushy. Maybe their usual cook moved to the Tacoma location because their fried rice tastes like their usual there. I'm leaving four stars, in hopes that the rest of their food still tastes as good as they used to.

This place was great! The food was delicious. The service was fast and friendly. They even had good prices. We will definitely go back again!

So I haven't TECHNICALLY been a customer here but let me explain.... :) I found myself stuck at home tonight without a car and nothing good to eat in the fridge. I looked for delivery places in Puyallup and this place came up. Had I actually taken the time to read their company info, I would have seen that they do not deliver. So why the five star review? Because the girl was super polite and recommended a couple of other places that do deliver. A little customer service goes a long way and I'm excited to try this place sometime...You know, when I have a car available. :)

Well - thought I'd give this place a shot and unfortunately it was pretty bland. Again, it is really interesting how much Thai food can vary from one place to the next...city to city etc. Thai Spice is a pretty vanilla experience with not much of a rich/bold flavor. I tried the pad Thai and Masaman - pretty mild/thin flavor...the lightened color is usually a dead giveaway - I'd search a little harder before stopping by here...just my opinion.

Best Thai food around, the chicken pad Thai is the best. Great service and very fast!

Nailbanger Here Again:This by far and away the Best Thai place on the Hill in Puyallup. We get the Chicken Pad Thai,Green Curry, Tom Kai Soup,Both Fresh Spring Rolls & Fried, Crab Wontons, but honestly everything on the menu is excellent. Serving are generous and prices are fair. You must go if you have never been. They have Beer and Wine. This is a large restaurant since the additional space. The atmosphere is Traditional Thai and very nice. The bathrooms are clean and they have plenty of well lighted parking. Enjoy

My mother, sister and I had ordered the chicken pad thai, beef paneang curry and chicken cashew to go. (It only took 3 minutes to bring it out) As we began eating our food, the portions were half filled, the meat in every dish was overlooked/dry, and each dish tasted old--as if it was reheated and put in a box. We had to call, return the food and get our money back because it was so disgusting. We eat thai food regularly, and this was the worst food we have ever eaten. DO NOT recommend this place.

I had tried the Tacoma location and was far from impressed, but this location almost makes for a #1 thai location. Still got my favorite up in Renton, but wow, this was good. Pad Thai was good, 3 star was a bit of a joke. I'll probably go 5 star next time, it was that weak. Both ladies helping us were very nice and attentive. Overall, excellent experience and we'll be back, often...

The last few times we have visited, their food has been back to their normal level of delicious! They must have had an odd chef for a few months because the quality was off and food has less flavor but now it is amazing again. Best thai around! We waited a couple months to do this update because we wanted to be sure things were back to normal but they definitely seem to be. :) And the staff is always wonderful! :)

Coworker decided we should have a girls night out..with her mom and daughter. Somehow I was under the impression this place was great. I ordered the fried rangoon which was my favorite part of the meal, but they said you would get 6 spring rolls..and that was actually 3 short ones cut in half. That was not cool at all. 6 is 6 and 3 is 3 last I checked my math. Then when I asked if rice came with the meal (because it was so watery)....they were charging $1 for sticky white starchy rice and $2 for brown rice. Okay so I ordered the brown, but when the meal came...it was garlic chicken mildly made spicy. The sauce was like I said...watery, the chicken was sliced but it tasted like it was precooked the day before and meal I could have easily cooked myself at home. I was disappointed but I had to keep a smile on my face for the company. It wasn't very busy there and the service was dreadfully slow. I got the feeling that our server really didn't want to be there. Her smile definitely wasn't genuine. At least it made you feel uncomfortable. Not sure if they deserved 2 stars but it definitely wasn't 1 star. I've been down that road. The place at least appeared clean and had no foul odors. It's located in a recessed strange spot you could easily pass by when it's dark at night. Anyway, I won't be back. They had their chance!

Their Papaya Salad is to die for! Amazing taste and good amount to eat for one. Also impressed with the Gluten-Free Pad Thai. We ordered takeout and were surprised at how quickly our meal was finished. Great staff, good atmosphere, quality taste. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family.

Not a happy camper about this !!! I stopped in to order a Togo order and was torn about what to get I asked the waitress taking my order if the shrimp alreDy have the heads peeled off cause I hate peeling shrimp . She informed me they were peel free .... Well they were def not !!!!! Which is a pet peeve of mine I dislike taking the heads off my shrimp for ten min before I can finally eat . I had the shrimp pad Thai , if she would've just said so I would have happily ordered one of the chicken dishes ...although the fresh rolls were good , the people taking the orders need to know what in the dishes !!!!

Absolutely no problems with the location, decor, cleanliness or service. That will explain why it got 2 stars instead of 1 from me. Got a dish called Rad Nah and they named it right. Rad? nahhh. A Thai stew type of dish, virtually flavorless with a whole bunch of gooey wonton skins that went beggin'. I don't understand the raves about the fried crab wontons, either. Thick skinned, overcooked with very little crab. The fresh rolls are ok but overall, the food at Ayothaya on Meridian is way better.

My shrimp pad thai was good. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the best I've had. We also ordered a shrimp & chicken pad thai, thai hot.... However, it wasn't hot at all! We ordered the papaya salad at 3. Typically, a 3 on a scale of 1-5 is too hot for me. But the 3 here barely had a spice kick to it. It was extremely sweet. I don't think I will return here or recommend this place to anyone. If anyone has another thai restaurant in the area they recommend, please let me know!!

  • Tres B.

The staff is particularly friendly, the space is warm and gracious. And meticulously clean. I enjoyed a dish called larb. For those unfamiliar, it's a minced beef , mint , chili and onion hot salad. It's usually served with lettuce leaves, but here they chose chucks of cabbage. Different but good and flavorful . The pad Thai noodles were a touch bland and 3 star hot here is like 1.5. Ask for at least 4 if you want some tang. Very good!

DELICIOUS. This was my first time coming here (: I came with the intent of ordering pineapple fried rice because that is what I was craving. I Am trying to lay off the "always order the same thing" by being brave and trying new things on the menu at any restaurant. I mean we only live once right? Might as well try everything in the entire world at least once. I was recommended the KeeMao noodles. I was thinking about cheating and ordering Cashew Chicken or Pad See Ew (technically I haven't tried it at this specific restaurant). Haha. Nopes. I stuck with the never tried KeeMao noodles. 3 stars with Chicken. Nest decision I ever made. At this first dine-in experience. It definitely had a spicy kick to the dish and I loved it. I like the flat noodles too which is just a bonus. Salty foods is a big turn-off for me, unfortunately. As I was digging in and enjoying my noodles, it was a bit too salty, the more I munched on my noodles. Other than that, the taste was great! I probably could have finished the whole dish but saved some for later(: I have to say, I love the interior! So cute. The place is quite large too~ I think it would be a cute place to come for a date. Can't wait to bring others here and eat some more different dishes I never tried(: *Pricing is alright... most thai places I would think range around $8-15+ a dish. I am quite the stickler for pricing. Haha I'm not cheap. Just have to make the decision to see if it is worth every cent.

What's not to like about this place. Service is great and fast. The first time we went here I was amazed how fast our order came out. Food is always on point. I will probably try something different every time we go here. Pad Thai is a must order! This restaurant is a must if you are looking for something different. Promise you'll keep coming back.

My husband and I have come here for years until we had eaten here and we were given our bill & it already had a 20% tip added on. When we asked about it they said sorry and gave us the "customer copy" which had the same total but did not mention the 20% tip but it did ask for another TIP!! BUYER BEWARE!!!! This is stealing. I like to tip but NOT to be stolen from!!!

This place was fantastic! I am horrendously picky about my Asian food, so to say it was fantastic is really something. All the food was SO fresh, and tasted amazing! The chili sauce was to die for, and the spice levels are totally accurate at this place (not at some places where 3 burns your face off lol). I forget the name of the dish I picked, but it was chicken with rice noodles over fresh greens (SO SO good!), and my husband ordered the drunken beef. Both were delicious, and the rice was very well cooked and had the perfect texture. The food is fantastically priced; my husband and I each got a meal, the appetizer sampler, and then he had a beer and I ordered the large sake (how could you not?), for around $35. The service was excellent, and they had wonderful recommendations for what to order (we don't eat Thai that often because it's difficult to find a good place). The place inside is deceptively large, and is immaculate. It is gorgeous, and they do an amazing job at creating an ambiance. Definitely will go back!

Wonderful place to eat. Recently moved from federal way back home to puyallup. Kept looking for a thai place to eat. Finally found this place, amazing food, great quality and really fast. All of my favorites that I love eating. Highly recommended.

I had to give it one star, but would much rather not give them any. I don't do many restaurant reviews unless I go more than once. So my first time was nothing memorable, but not horrible. Restaurant had decent service and ok food. A year Iater I'm sitting here sadly disappointed, because My buddies are pissed and I'm embarrassed for endorsing this place. The Pad Thai we ordered has one hint of a lazy Thai restaurants stench. The sauce tastes exactly like Ketchup(Oh yeah, it's heinz) with a little spice. Also, the hot scale goes to 5 for non thai people. Get six or more stars if you want any spice at all. Long story short.....if it is the only restaurant left on earth.....you might enjoy your food!

This restaurant has amazing food. The staff is always friendly & helpful. I have always been greeted when I walk into the doors of the place. The atmosphere is inviting & family friendly. Their menu items have a wide variety of foods for various taste buds. My favorite items on the menu is the chicken pad Thai (2 star spicy) and the spring rolls with peanut sauce. I have peanut sauce & spring rolls at other places before but it is no comparison to chili Thai (:

It took a whole year for me to find this place but I'm so happy that I did. I've only been here 2 times and the first time the service was slow, but I was happy with the food so I didn't let it stop me. Here's how my most recent meal went: Fresh rolls: Yum! I really like it when spring (fresh) rolls are full of lettuce and not vermicelli noodles. I'm about to indulge in some pad thai so I really don't need any more noodles in my meal. The dipping sauce that this comes with is also excellent. I love the peanut sauce that other places serve with their spring rolls, but sometimes it's nice to change it up. Panang curry with Jasmine rice: So, I'm not so sure why, but you have to order a side of rice with your curry... I'm a rice and curry eater and I haven't really been to a thai place where I'm supposed to order rice for my curry. It's strange to me. Their curry is very good. Not too spicy and not bland. I usually get it with chicken or pork. I do wish, however, that they put more veggies in it. Pad Thai with beef: I've been to a few places where for some strange reason the pad thai is loaded down with sauce.. and it's usually gross when it's like that. This is not one of those places. The pad thai has just the right amount of flavor in it. They also garnish it with bean sprouts, but they put it on the side of the noodles instead of on top so you don't get your sprouts all mixed up in your noodles if you don't want. Fried Rice: My husband loves him some fried rice and this is pretty good. It's not special but it is good. Service: This last time was actually really good. Our water cups stayed full and our food and check came quickly. No complaints this time... Maybe we just came around on a good day. Overall: This girl will be coming back again and again.

Usually when you seat someone and give them at least 5 minutes to review the menu, you might want to check back to see if they are ready or have any questions about the menu. Ten minutes goes by, menus placed at the corner and yet no service. In most cases, I would walk out by now but I was also accompanied by my sister and her kids so I waited. By the time the server came around, I ordered pineapple fried rice, beef pad sa ew, red curry, coconut prawns and chicken pad thai. I specifically came here for the reason that I wanted beef pad sa ew but it didn't satisfy my craving. The food was mediocre, so save your time and make a trip down the street to Bangkok Thai. The only thing that was decent was the chicken pad thai. That's too easy to mess up on. Not to mention, the wine was served in dusty glasses...I'm not sure if they get a lot of wine drinkers here but floating particles in my wine is not okay. In conclusion, I won't be coming back.

Went to what used to be our favorite date night place. Not anymore! We were seated then waited about ten minutes to be greeted by a young server who simply said. " Are you ready to order?" No introduction of any kind. We ordered drinks and the coconut prawns app which came fairly promptly- then we ordered our entrees and were forgotten. Several tables came in after us including a party of 8 and all were served their meals before us. No one even came to check on us for more drinks or anything. Finally after an hour we flagged down someone and she apologized and said they would take15% off the bill. We should have had the dinners comped. I asked to speak with the manager who did NOTHING and sent the server back to our table and said the 15% was the best she could do but the server would comp 50% and pay the difference out of her pocket. That was clearly unfair so we paid the bill and received only$6.40 off of our bill. Worst management ever!! I'm appalled ! And unfortunately we will never come back there! This is the customer service business. Hire people who know the industry!

Once upon a time this place was good. I don't know what happened in the last year or so but I think I just had my last meal at this place. I've said that twice before (spaced out over the last year) but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt since we used to have such good experiences there. The food is bland and over cooked, leaving everything mushy. I don't personally like for my food to feel like it's already been chewed but if you do, this place is right up your alley. They really had the potential to be the best and I really hope they step their game up again but until then I'd avoid this place if it was the last Thai restaurant in Puyallup.

My food was alright but my daughter got sick, service was OK loved the flattery from the server ladies all talking Thai or was it something else. So I heard that this Thai place was good from I guess sister store in Tacoma, and decided to give it a go. Ordered what I always order at Thai places, panang curry and pad Thai. The cook in Tacoma is way better. I will not return to this location.

Really, really, really want to give this place 4 stars BUT I can't........ Reason being is that upon walking in, the waitress said, I quote," I don't know if you are going to get help soon because I off and no they are late." ??? are serious???? Good thing I came here with a gf who has been here before and we were also waiting on a friends so we weren't really in a hungry, yet..... As we decided on what to eat and was ready to order we saw the "help" finally arrive and it took another 30 minutes before we could order, so I would say after about 45minutes we were able to order!!! WTH???? The only reason this place is even getting 3 stars is because the food is pretty delicious:) We ordered the payaya salad which was tasty, the chicken wings, which were crispy fried to perfection and some house fried rice.

We use to eat here but have not been for a couple months. Tonight we decided to go and yuck,, what happened? Horrible service, not very friendly waitress until it was time to write the tip and the food was so bad we ate the rice only and went too Costco for dinner. Hope they see this and fix the problems. They use to be so good. Everything tasted like fish and flowers and we ordered nothing with fish :-( sad we will not go back.

Great food, but my main complaint is that they have Wifi, but can't remember their password. We've tried to come here a few times for a dinner meeting... but they never can remember the dang password. And, instead of tracking it down so we can stay, they just shrug their shoulders and send us on our way. Super weird. Food is good, though. No complaints there. Always get the fresh rolls and pad thai, and have never been disappointed.

Been on the search for decent Thai food in the south end (without having to drive in to Federal Way) after moving here a year ago. And bingo! Found it! Finding this place was like finding the gold at the end of the rainbow. I have been so disappointed with the selection in the south end, and I don't want to have to always drive up north for good food. We ordered the house spicy noodles, gai yang chicken, appetizer sampler, fresh rolls, & broccoli beef. This was between 4 people. 1 person is super picky and tried & liked all of it (except the tofu.) The only suggestion was the gai yang chicken was pretty dry. Otherwise, we were all pleasantly full - and extremely satisfied. This is my preferred Thai down here for sure.

I'm always on the lookout for some good spicy noodles! We spent the day visiting my mother in her new place and all agreed that some lunch was in order. Yelp to the rescue! We went for some Thai food and I'm very glad we did. As this was my first time here I wanted to compare with a dish I know well. I went for the Pad Thai chicken and it was fantastic! Tom Kha soup and a Thai iced coffee later and I was one happy Farb. A little out of the way, but always handy to have a go-to spot for noodles wherever I may be.

Once upon a time I thought I didn't like Thai food. Through the 90's and beyond, Thai food was peanut butter and coconut milk slathered on miscellaneous stuff on soggy noodles. Fortunately, one of my co workers is married to a Thai woman who is an excellent cook. Over the years, she has sent numerous dishes to work that are authentic and simply wonderful. In short, (Pen) taught me to love real Thai food.Since she can't cook for me Evey night II inquired where should I go? The response Chili Thai. Pen's sister and husband are the proprietors of Chili Thai and the family link is strong. Evey dish we have eaten there has been exquisitely prepared and simply delicious to eat. Beyond the perfectly prepared food the atmosphere here is simply exquisite, this is a place you want to take your friends and show off the fact you have the ability to find hidden gems.

I was debating on 2 or 3 stars for this place. It's beautiful inside here. Very clean, very calming environment. The service is 5 stars... Extremely friendly and attentive but not pushy. The serving sizes aren't as large as most Thai restaurants are. Another strange thing was rice was not included in your dinner meal, you had to order it separately. I got fresh rolls. They were good, but I've had better. They didn't used a variety of veggies in them like I've had at other places. They were still my favorite part of my meal. I really liked the sweet and sour sauce it came with. I also got garlic chicken #30. It was "just okay." The flavors were confusing. this was a chicken dish but they obviously used a beef broth type base. It made the chicken taste like beef and didn't compliment the dish well in my opinion. Also, there weren't many veggies along with this dish. If you didn't order rice, you would not be satisfied. I wasn't that impressed with this dish. I'd rate it two stars based on just the food but because the service was so good and the place so clean and inviting it swayed me. There are better Thai restaurants in Puyallup which I have reviewed with way superior tasting food. The parking kind of sucks since its a strip mall. Also, my bill for one ontray an apetizer and water came to a little over $20? That's a lot for one person ESP with small servings they have. I doubt I will be back here. If I do I will only order fresh rolls for a quick in and out in a relaxing environment.

This is the best Thai restaurant in our area! My husband lived in Thailand and is pretty picky. We love how kind and thoughtful the staff are too! Everything we have is great, the Beef salad, yum neua, mussaman curry, fried rice with pineapple, pad Thai, Ginger chicken, tom kha soup, mango sticky rice are some of our favorites! We also love the one on 27th Street in Tacoma.

Very reasonable prices and attentive staff. Always kept my water refilled which was a must since their papaya salad is hot! Really cute interior, not at all what you would expect in a strip mall. Look forward to returning.

Their Pad Thai was good. I would definitely go again to try their other dishes. I'm always skeptical of eating at Asian restaurants far from Seattle. The people at the counter were nice and even brought my to-go order out to me. The wait for my food wasn't very long and when I got home, I opened my box and it was what I expected my pad thai to look like, not too orangey in color and a fair amount of chicken. I ordered this one with no spice, I wish I got at least a 1 or 2. Overall, I would definitely go again, but this time do the sit down thing and see how that works out.

I ate here once and the presentation was beautiful but the food was pretty bland. I was with several friends and we all ordered something different. Each dish was a disappointment. I did not enjoy the food and the service was lacking. We had to ask for eating utensils and our server acted as if we were an inconvenience. I have not returned ever since.

Love this place. Nice enough for a date night but quick and affordable. The staff is great, nice atmosphere, and large restaurant that still feels cozy. Their House Spicy Noodles are my favorite, and I don't know what they compare to at other restaurants, so unfortunately that is all I ever want to order there.

1-4 rating. Food was a 4, very good Service was a 1. It took longer to get a bill and get change than it did to order and eat. We finally had to wave someone down so we could give our money away!! To bad because it has the potential to be a great place.

I eat at Chili Thai at least once a week or more. I always get the Chicken Larb, which is a ground chicken breast and mint with a lime sauce and fresh veggies on the side, usually served as a salad. I like it over white rice, and I prefer it a little more sour than usual. The cook is more than happy to make my Larb a little more sour. The staff knows me and they all know what I always order. It is always superbly seasoned and just exactly what I want, without fail. Sometimes I order their fried spring rolls with plum sauce, and they are excellent also. My little granddaughter has celiac disease and must eat gluten free, and they always prepare her pad thai with special non-gluten sauce and noodles. She is six and really appreciates being able to eat in a restaurant without worrying about gluten. It makes her feel like she is able to eat what we are having, as her parents get regular pad thai. I could not recommend this restaurant enough.

Phad Kee Mao was my scientific control among the 3 Thai restaurants in Puyallup. Chili Thai cooked the best one. Although lacking in flavor, I didn't get the overwhelming seeds (Ayothaya) and I didn't get the 2-3 stars when I requested 1 star (Bangkok Thai). The staff is quick and service is friendly. They have a decent seating area for to-go orders. The parking lot had many spaces. So if you happen to be in the 98373 area and are craving Thai food, let this be your restaurant of choice.

Fast service, other then that it was nasty. For starter not enough chicken in the fried rice , second the rice tasted way over cooked. Overall I will not be back.

I tried this place many times with my family. My parents really dig this place, so I been going there more often to grab take out for them Location: 2.5 Stars Located off 512 across the street from Southhill Mall in Puyallup. There is a good sized parking lot and the place shares a strip mall complex with 2-3 other businesses. Getting into the parking lot is okay, but getting out is a pain due to the exit being on a very busy main street without a light, so you need to gun your way out of the lot. And if you want to take a left out of the lot you need to be like Evil Kanival, as I have yet to be able to make that and dodge the incoming traffic. The interior of the place is quite classy for what it is. Two main eating areas, a mini waiting lobby in the front by the cashier and bar. Décor is very advanced with wood walls, trim, Thai statues and fish. Very ornate and roomy. The main eating room has nice wooden tables and bamboo is all over the place. The lobby is small, but has some good mags and does its job as you wait for take out. The other room tends to be reserved for big parties and happy hour, so it is attached to the bar, same décor, but darker in lighting. Overall very clean, and right out of Siam. Ambiance/Service: 4 Stars The decor again is very ornate and reminds me of an old Siamese village without the dirt and cows. A lot of wooden wall hanging things, and statues and bric all around, but not cluttered or overkill, just very classy, yet open. Tables are spaced roomy enough for a lot of parties to be in without crowding and the noise level is reasonable. The cashier spot and bar overlap so there are a lot of glasses above the cashier which worries me in the event of an earthquake, but o-well. Service is okay. Nothing amazing, but nice and effective the most of the time. Sometimes they forget things and you need to be proactive in reminding them if they do not serve something in a timely order. I think it is not due to lack of interest, but just being overworked and staff viewing the place as "work" instead of life. I can tell most of the staff are not invented in the company, so like around 5pm and closing service tends to dwindle due to "I wanna go home" syndrome. Food: 4 stars The menu is pretty standard Thai fare with some nice tapas like lettuce wraps etc. I have had mainly my Pad See Ew and Pad Thai, as well as tried the rama, ginger and garlic, some tapas, and a few soups. Pad Sei Ew is about a 3 out of 5 for me. Oddly, it is better as a take out dish then fresh. Fresh it tends to be runny and drab in flavor. After it is heated up an hour later it oddly, is very flavorful and good. Beats me how and why. I do like the seafood option which includes two muscles, calamari, scallops, shrimp, and salmon chunks. A win with that. Broccoli tends to be firmer than I like, but okay, and it also has carrots and baby corn, in it also. Baby corn is odd and fresh tends to be "can" tasting, but again reheated, they are fine and absorb the flavors of other things. The rest of the dishes I tried are okay. Not the best to my taste, but not awful either, I do like their soups; very flavorful and rich with good spice. Not much else to say, a good place for ambiance, but and okay food, but no special kutos from me.

Wonderful ambience, capable service, and really good basil and yellow curry dishes. Ordered Thai hot and didn't really get it, but I was not disappointed. Was quite close to my hotel, so I was very pleased to find this and not have to stand in the long lines for the mediocre chain restaurants across the street.

This restaurant smells great and looks nice, too. The bathrooms are clean, and the servers are friendly. The menu has a good vegetarian selection and is reasonably priced. When it arrived, the food was okay but my dish, garden rama, had undercooked vegetables that had not been sorted well (brown spots) and wasn't very hot. And after the food came we never saw our server again and were thirsty waiting for water refills. I will come back, but they need better and more careful service on Saturday nights.

I've only been here twice but each time the service has been great and the food was pretty good. It wasn't awesome by any means but as a recent transplant from downtown Seattle to Puyallup -- when I'm craving thai -- it's a pretty good place to go. Both times I went were during their lunch period. They offer several dishes for under $7 and the servers are quite attentive. Last time we had pad thai, a red curry dish (not so woo woo) and their fried rice -- all with tofu. The portions were pretty good for lunch which my friend and I were able to consume easily. My friend's only complaint was her thai iced tea -- she said it was TOO sweet (and she loves sweets, it's rare for her to complain about something being too sweet) and had to pour the entire thing into a glass of ice to dilute it down. Like I said, the food isn't awesome but it is tasty and I'll be happy to go back.

The best food I had during my time in the military was Thai food, from Thailand. I pass by this place each day I go home from work, and the parking lot ( not exceptionally big) is usually full. Good sign! Traffic was heavy and so I decided to swing in and order Pad Thai to go. The wait was a bit long, in their defense it appeared that a lady had placed a rather large order that was wrapping up while I waited. Anyway, when I got home and shared it with the family, even my picky eater boys were diggin it. Great flavor. We will defiantly go back!

You have not lived until you have tried their Tom Ka soup. Mix a little rice in your soup and you have a meal fit for kings! I drive half an hour for the stuff. Love Chili Thai!

Chili Thai has become our "go-to" Thai in Puyallup, but mostly by default (because the competitors aren't even worth trying again). The food is inconsistent; from okay to very good. The spice level is also inconsistent, and if it's not enough, they simply hand you more peppers and sauce. The interior is nice, the staff is above par for the area, and the four stars I am giving is based on when their food is at its best. There is room for improvement, but it is definitely worth a try.

I love this place. My fiancé and I come here every time we are looking for our Thai fix for the evening. Their food is great and always consistent. The employees that work here are always a pleasure and remember us as soon as we walk in the door.

Escaping the terrible thai's in Bonney Lake we decided to hit Chili Thai near south hill mall. What a nice surprise. Interior was pretty nice and felt like another country. Service was friendly and quick. We started with chicken skewers, delicious with peanut sauce and cucumber sauce. Didn't quite understand the toast on the side but it was still enjoyable. Ordered 2 star phad thai, and being a heat lover I was surprised it was as hot as it was. Fiance' survived it so I was cool with it. Delicious thai, great service, and will return no doubts!

This place was pretty OK. Nothing amazing, for Puyallup its pretty good. The Pad Thai was good. I wasn't a big fan of their rice, a little mushy a couple times. Decent prices. I really did like their honey sauce that comes with the spring rolls. I could live without this place and be fine. Nothing real bad to say and nothing real good to say.

I'm a big fan of Thai food and this is one of the better places around. On our last visit, they forgot out appetizers though, but that wasn't indicative of our typical experience there. Normally the wait staff is very attentive, almost to a fault (When my drink is 1/4 empty I don't necessarily need it refilled) The food has always tasted excellent, but the heat varies from cook to cook. My wife and I always order 5 stars, some times it is and sometimes we need to ask for the spice tray....a little more consistency with the heat would be nice. That being said, the Pad Kee Mao is one of the best I've had and their curries are delicious.

We order take out frequently and I live less than 10 minutes away and they always have our order ready. If you walk in you might have a 10 minute wait. We love their chili thai salad, classic fried rice, and pod thai! All very good. Very polite service every time!

We had been here before and thought it was lovely. The ambiance is very nice. They have the lights low and the noise level is nice and low. This last time w went though was just awful. The service is where it went wrong. The food was pretty good but it took 15 minutes to get our drink order in. I noticed there were 3 tables of 2 and a party of 6 in the restaurant and two waitresses, so the time it took to be greeted and give drink orders was pretty long. At this point I was worried we would not make our movie we had tickets for which started in 2 hours, I began keeping an eye on my watch at this point and noted it took 24 minutes for our sodas to come to the table. My group had been getting upset about the wait and wanted to leave but I didn't want to make a scene and ruin the night so we decided it can't possibly take that long to get our food. We were so wrong . They ordered chicken cashew , fried rice, 2 garden Rama and stir fried vegetables with cashew added.Because im vegetarian i I asked if the stir fry was 100% vegetarian or I should order something else and the waitress shrugged her shoulders and stared at me. I decided not to fight it and hold everyone up by asking her to check and I just asked her to make is there was no meat in it please. 58 minutes later our food arrived. Str fry vegetables came with steak slices on top . So at this point we had waited for very close to two hours for our food , were now going to miss the movie we had tickets for AND I was not going to even be able to eat. Very frustrating. When I told the waitress I had an issue with my food she brought a older gentleman to the table, I explained my problem with the food and he said he'd take care of it . I was not happy but I was at least satisfied that I wouldn't have to pay for it . When the check came all that had been taken off was the price of the meat that was added to the stir fry NOT the stir fry. I decided to cut my loses and get out of there to see if we could trade our movie tickets for the next show at the theater. The night was a total loss, no one enjoyed their cold food . I'm sad to say we won't be visiting the Chili Thai again .

My husband and I had a favorite Thai restaurant when we lived in the Seattle area and tired many places to find something to satisfy our cravings. This is the best available in the area in our opinion. The food is excellent, good flavor and portions. I am always tempted to swing in for takeout when I am near but the parking lot and busy road can sometimes change my mind. Also the service can be great one visit then slow the next. Don't let it stop you from stopping in though!

Stopped in a whim after reading reviews on Yelp. I ran into a customer of mine who said this place was great. Thai iced tea was spot on. Delicious hot and sour soup appetizer before you even order. Ate the hot chili beef lunch special and it was awesome. Service was quite fast.

I love Thai food and have been to Thailand. This is fresh and delicious food here. My favorite local place and there are three options on South Hill. The service is prompt and friendly. I get takeout here but I also like to stay and sit when I have time or am with friends or family because it has a pleasant atmosphere.

Let me qualify this review by first saying I have been to Thailand several times. The food was ok, some dishes better than others. I used to frequent this establishment 1-2 times a month, mostly eating in. My meals in the restaurant were pretty good, some were not so good. My main concern is when I started getting orders for take out. The amount of food seemed to be lacking compared with the amount of food I seemed to be receiving in the eatery. My other concern is that the rice they give you to go is microwaved inside a plastic lunch baggie....yuck. I have since found a much better Thai eatery on south hill, while the service can be of concern, the taste and authenticity is excellent. It is Ayothaya Thai Cuisine located near Best Buy. Give it a try and compare for yourself.

I have eaten at multiple Chili Thai locations and this one by far is the best of them all. My son and I love it so much that we ate here twice over his winter break this year. The decor and ambiance of this location is very warm and inviting, perfect for a quiet chat with your favorite person or bring a few friends, they have room! They just recently opened up a 2nd side to provide more seating to customers. The service is good and the food is delicious...much better than most other Thai places I have tried. The only negative I would have to say is the parking, this location is in a small strip mall that has an equally small parking lot with only one way to get in and leave which can be a tight fit at times if its busy. But in the evening the other businesses are closed so it is not as difficult.

What a great little find in Puyallup. I was in Puyallup for work one day and i used my sidekick Yelp to find something tasty for lunch. Upon being seated you are brought out a delicious little bowl of soup. Not sure what was in it other than mushrooms and a couple of root vegetables. For my entree I ordered the Pad Kee Mao, it was so yummy. Often I have hard time finding thai that suits me. And I was so excited about the free soup and the rockin Pad, that cost me maybe $6. Now I wish it was only closer to Seattle

We like Chili Thai alot, especially the soup with the meal served until 3. Food is fresh! I want to make the soup, does anyone know the recipe for it? Delicious! Before my kids and grandkids moved we would meet there and share a meal. So good!

The Best Pad Thai on the Hill, however, we prefer the taste when we get it "to-go" and it sits for the 15min car ride home over eating it in the Restaurant. The place is beautiful and the staff is friendly. Love the egg rolls with the plum sauce!

YUM. Wow. The Chicken Pad Thai just rocks, it is so good. The quantity is fairly massive, We were able to make 3-4 meals out of one order. It had a good mix of chicken, nuts, shallots and sprouts...and the yummy noodles!

Went to eat there for the first time as dine-in a couple of nights ago (in the past we've ordered take-out from there a couple of times). This place is hit or miss. Sometimes it's really good, sometimes it's just alright. This last time we opted to dine in. The atmosphere and decor is very classy and nice. The waitresses were super attentive and friendly. I ordered the Jumping Squid, 4 stars. Husband ordered a noodle dish (I don't remember the name of it now, but it was number 51), 3 stars. I ordered a side of jasmine rice to go with my dish. The Jumping Squid was delicious. All the flavors just meld together nicely, and the squid was yummy and not too fishy tasting. I'm glad I ordered it 4 stars, because it was just the right amount of spiciness for me. My husband's noodle dish was not so good...and 3 stars was just way too mild. The noodles were some sort of wide egg noodles that seemed to be chopped up a bit and lost under all the sauce that it came in...it almost looked like soup. There wasn't much flavor to his dish. For dessert we ordered the Black Rice Pudding to share. It was alright...although there were a couple of times I thought it tasted a bit moldy, but since I've never had this dish before I didn't know if that is what it's supposed to taste like. This place is alright...but like I said...it's hit or miss. I think next time we'll try someplace else for Thai.

Chili Thai is the only good thing in Puyallup, or the South Hill at any rate. The service is excellent. The interior is comfortable. The crab wontons are always good, and the cashew tofu is first-rate. My only complaint about Chili Thai is that their beef dishes never seem to reflect the Thai seasoning one would expect - that's why I order the tofu dishes here whenever I'm in Puyallup.

This is by far my favorite Thai spot in Puyallup area!! I actually stumbled upon this place about 6 years and I have never been disappointed. I'm not a big fan of the restaurants in Puyallup (Chili Thai is really close to Reb Robin, Famous Daves, Olive Garden, and a few other crappy chain places). The inside is surprisingly so cute, which you wouldn't expect b/c it's on a strip mall. I've had too many things on the menu to name, but what keeps me coming back is the Garlic Chicken (5 star, please!) and the Fresh Spring Rolls. I haven't found a better spring roll ever!! Not even in Seattle. The service is always great and the prices can't be beat. Also, if you order take-out your food will be ready in less than 10 minutes!

wish I could comment on the food but I couldn't even get service. Left after trying to complain but they really didn't care enough to even listen. Walked in with my mom on mothers day and stood by the please wait to be seated sign and was ignored by every employee who walked by. Finally sat down after about 5 minutes of this to wait for a table. There were others in the waiting area so we joined them. After another 5-10 minutes of waiting there another couple walks in and someone immediately greets them and seats them. We are confused at this point so we ask about a table and they say that there is a wait list. They go and check the list and there isn't one. We go sit back down to wait. Another couple walks in and gets greeted and is being shown to their table when we interrupt and inform them that we were waiting. The hostess looks confused, but realizes that we have been there for a few and seats us. We look at the menu while conversing, decide what we want and close the menus and sit there for 15, no exaggeration, 15 minutes. As we discuss where we are going to go for dinner since we obviously are not going to be able to eat here, we notice that the other 2 couples had ordered and received drinks and one has an appetizer on the table. As we get up to leave the 2 servers say thanks for coming in?!? My only response is really?

We stumbled into this place after going to our "target destination" and were forced to leave after the 350+ pound woman sitting at the table in front of me hadn't bathed in at least a week and felt it necessary to wear a tank top. Oh no, the fun doesn't end there! She had smuggled in a dog (not a service dog) maybe between fat rolls or something and that did it for me. The ventilation system forced her aroma at me and I ran out. So we looked in the area and decided on Chili Thai. We walked in not knowing what to expect. The place was packed and all the patrons were dressed appropriately and no animals! We ordered our food and were amazed at how good it was. The service was spectacular, actually some of the best I've had, and we had a great dining experience. I can't think of a single thing that they should do differently. Yes, it was that good. Wonderful Thai food at great prices. We will definitely be back soon. Must have changed owners or something. The food is different. Maybe different recipes? I don't know but it wasn't good at all. Customer lost.

We chose to come here because of the awesome reviews. This place is in a strange location (strip mall across the street from South Hill Mall restaurants like Red Robin and Olive Garden) but don't let the strip mall fool you, the inside decor is lovely as is the service from the time you walk in until you walk out. Our waitress was very helpful, we explained I was a vegetarian, and liked my tofu cut in smaller pieces than you normally find in dishes. My spicy noodle dish with **** (4 STARS) was so yummy and spicy and the flavors just jumped out of each noodle and vegetable in the dish. My husbands Jungle Pork was recommended by our waitress and he loved it, claiming the pork was juicy and went very well with the order of Jasmine rice we had. I shouldn't leave out that we always like to try the sampler appetizer at restaurants and the one we had with vegetable spring rolls (only 2 cut in 1/2...could have had more!) and the fried Tofu with plum sauce and crab wontons were all wonderful, however they could have added a few more of each to the platter! What I loved about this place is that they had a vegetarian section, however all the other dishes could be ordered with tofu and as hot as you would like depending on star rating. Excellent service, Excellent selection and Fantastic flavors! Will come again soon!

Went on a thurs at about 830pm. We were meeting a friend that was from out of town whom my husband hadn't seen in 12 years. Even 30 mins to close they greeted us warmly and welcomed us inside. We ordered Tom yum soup, crab wonton , fresh eggrolls, phad thai, phad see yu, swimming Rama and green curry. Our food came out pretty fast, probably about 15 mins. I was with 3 hungry men and we still had left overs for the hubby to take to work the next day. Portions were decent and the food was amazingly good. Probably one of the best thai restaurants ive been to. It's too bad I live in Seattle and this place wouldn't be convenient for me. Another great thing is that our bill only came out to $60. We were still there 30 mins after closing and they weren't rushing us out. But we felt bad so we started to head out. They even took pictures for us since they this was a quick reunion. I definitely would recommend this place. GREAT FOOD, EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. and they Jane fresh orchids everywhere!!! So beautiful and gives an even more authentic feel

I was not too impressed with this place. The eggplant in the spicy eggplant and tofu was pretty disappointing. The Thai iced tea was pretty good but I've never seen whipped cream on top of tea...not my favorite part. The restaurant itself was very nice and I liked the environment which is probably why it got three stars. Basically, it was a nice establishment...just don't get the eggplant.

I took my date to Chili Thai (3712 9th St SW suite #4&5) in Puyallup. It sits in a little strip mall across the street from Famous Dave's by the Puyallup Mall. I had heard about it while visiting my favorite dive bar in the area (I won't say which, 'cause it's crowded enough) by two different people. I asked our waitress how hot I can order a dish. Chili Thai rates their dish's hotness by a star rating of 1-5, but if I requested, they will to a "perfect 10". I ordered a Green Curry noodle dish with shrimp, green peppers, mushrooms, curry and some other things. It was out of this world! I ordered a 5-star hotness and the waitress looked at me a little funny. She was very sweet (and Thai) and asked if I was sure I wanted a five-star. My date, knowing first hand (actually "first va-Jay-Jay" is more like it, 'cause she felt the burn one night after I consumed a third of a bottle of Dave's Instant Insanity and went "downtown") how I like it answered for me by declaring, "Oh, HE'S sure! and the waitress still had this warning look on her face. I was pleasantly surprised at it's burn. Five was just enough to get my nose into a slight drip. It was then that I noticed others in the dining room with the same affliction, as evidenced by their blowing of their noses. I also ordered sticky rice which was perfect, and the waitress brought out a caddy full of their hottest spices and peppers to complete my fiery experience. I was apprehensive when I pulled into the strip mall, but was very pleasantly surprised when I entered. The atmosphere was very warm, authentic and slightly romantic; not at all what I had expected. The waitress was very, very attentive and earned her 25% gratuity. When I go again, I will be sure to have the waitress bring the extra napkins first thing.

This place serves delicious, flavorful food and I can be pretty picky when it comes to Thai food. Sometimes bad phad thai tastes like they used ketchup for the sauce but this place makes it perfectly. I came with a large group and we ate family style and ordered mango shrimp fried rice which was strangely good. I usually don't like fruit in my dinner entrees but this dish worked. We also ordered tofu phad thai, chicken and greenbeans with basil and chicken satay. I didn't have any complaints about the food and is one of the best thai places I've tried so far. I'll definately be coming back here again whenever I'm in the area!

Probably my most favorite Thai place ever. I was first introduced to it by my friend who attended PLU and have been coming back ever since. The portions are hearty and the staff is always more than accommodating to special requests. Also, the service is quick but not pushy. I am a huge fan of their curries and my friend loves the mango fried rice.

This restraunt is good, but nothing worth remembering. I was disappointed after eating here because I had heard such great reviews. The food was decent and staff are always friendly, but when given a choice, I would prefer to go to a different Thai restraunt in Puyallup.

Whenever I come to Puyalllup to visit my family I make sure to visit Chili Thai. It's my little oasis of deliciousness! I hardly ever eat Thai in LA because I can't find anything that measures up to the Thai I ate when living in Seattle. Chili Thai is as good as any of my favorite spots in the city, and the friendly service is better than many of them. I love their spicy catfish, how do they get those basil leaves so crispy and perfect? The house spicy noodle makes me sweat, and that's the way I like it! The panang curry is like a bowl of happiness, spicy, ever so sweet, creamy and delicious. On my last visit I tried a salad my parents were raving about and it was excellent. I wish I could remember the name, but it was citrusy and hot and made my mouth very happy. We love to finish our meal with a shared dish of coconut ice cream that is creamy and delicate and wonderfully topped with cashews and toasted coconut. It's the perfect ending to a meal of bold flavors and spice!

Compared to Ayothaya Restaurant, this place didn't compare. I tried the Phad Thai and the sauce was way, way too sweet. I also compared their crab wontons and it too wasn't as tasty. The waiter we had was very pleasant, however, he didn't offer to do anything when we mentioned that the sauce was too sweet. I wasn't expecting a free meal, just either a re-make of what I had ordered or something else. I left disappointed and won't be going back.

Went here for the first time and it was pretty good. Their Man Gog (sp?), first thing under apps - It was a BBQ type pork and was amazing. I will be dreaming about it later. Had the Hot Basil Beef and that was good as well. Will definitely go back.

The service at this place was top-notch. It deserves five stars just for that. The food was decent -- not the best Thai we've had here, in Western Washington, but certainly worth going back for -- the Massamun Curry was good -- not great... Krachai Thai Restaurant in University Place serves up a better example, but Chili Thai's was worth checking out. We also had the Kee Mao Noodles which were good, if you like basil (I'm not a huge fan, but other people in our party liked it). Really, though, this place stands out because of the service they provide. We didn't have to wait to be seated, we weren't rushed to order, but we didn't have to wait either. Our glasses were never empty and anytime we needed something, it was taken care of quickly. The service alone means we'll be back!

Our favorite Thai place in Puyallup. If you have never tried their Chili Thai fried rice give it a try. I also like their curries a lot.

Like Ted said, the service there is unbeatable. Went there twice now and had a different server each time. Nonetheless they were both very attentive and the water glass never at any time was less than half full. The full was pretty good as well. Not the best or most authentic Thai but was very satisfying. The fresh spring rolls are good and so is the red curry. Pad thai was also yummy as well as their fried rice. They are the best thing about Puyallup.

This place is great - I have lived two miles down the road for 6 months now and had no idea it was there. I went with a friend that is allergic to gluten, and the server went out of her way to find out about the ingredients in all the dishes she was interested in. The food was great - I had the garlic chicken - and I was impressed with the "star" system that lets you decide how spicy you want your food to be. Be careful, though, they're not joking around! I got the middle-of-the-road 3 stars and still went through 4 glasses of water : )

Out of all the Thai restaurants in the area, this one is the best! The food is always great, the wait staff is always friendly, and I recommend this restaurant to all my friends.

Some of the best Thai food I've had in Washington+great service+terrific value+a location less than 5 minutes from where I live = an EXTREME threat to stable weight levels. That aside, this restaurant is not only one of my overall favorite Thai places, but one of the best overall restaurants I've ever been to. Go here now!

this place is super yummy. we ordered take out last night for the first time, and it wasn't too bad. i always choose the wrong noodles, but the sauce was really good. the veggies are fresh and they have a good variety. very fast on pick up, so that's nice. my son loves the rice and noodles. we will probably eat here again.
