This spot was ok. It was the third choice on the list as our usual go-to Vietnamese place was closed. The price is decent and The food ok, but the service was bad. The food took almost 15 minutes to come out and our server didn't come back to fill our waters. I think I would come again only if my other two go-to Vietnamese spots were closed...again.

This is a focus review on just one item: Bun Bo Hue (menu listing: B-1) If you are in search of the West Coast's number one bowl of BBH, you will find it here. That's a heady statement, considering I have been consuming all types of Vietnamese noodle soups for over twenty years, mostly in Seattle's International District and lately on Bolsa Ave. and Brookhurst St. in Westminster, CA. Here's why-- liquorous and savory broth bathing thick noodles and a variety of meaty cuts, including beef, pork meatballs, pie cuts of bloodcake, and the centerpiece cross-section cut of pork knuckle that sometimes includes a jammy pearl of marrow that is ALWAYS worth a forceful kiss to remove. I have never been to the ancient capital of Hue but, through the complex, evolving flavors, I can lustily imagine strolling through the many neighborhoods as I devour my way through this hypnotic bowl of goodness. Condiments include shaved banana blossom and a few other exotic herbs that are not part of the standard pho experience. I am no herbologist but I can say the plate of sides is colorful to look at and delicious to eat. This is exotic stuff, people. Fire up the bowl by requesting "extremely spicy" and, in addition to extra chili oil in the soup, you will also receive an accompanying side of orange-hot chili flakes. I would recommend a glass of Thai iced tea for rescue operations. You could order other dishes, but WHY would you pass on what is, after over a thousand bowls of fine Vietnamese cuisine, the finest soup noodle experience EVER? Follow this recipe and you will discover for yourself how good soup noodles can be once you depart the realm of basic pho. (Note: this got filtered out so I'm moving down to a 4-star in order to get this INDEPENDENT review reinstated.)

This place is so awesome! I had the pho with everything in it. The broth was excellent! Lots of noodles. Great price. Nice dining. Clean place. Friendly staff. I definitely recommend this place!!

I'm absolutely disappointed and not returning back. We've been coming to this restaurant for over an year, foods is ok but the service we got today was unacceptable! We were there during lunch with two young kids, placed an order of our foods. Waited for over 45mins and still not serve. But other tables who came after us are getting their foods. My husband asked the lady who took our order, she said your table will be next, maybe another 10 mins. Are you kidding me?? 45mins+ and another 10+ mins. The lady walk away and avoid the problem! Really??? Terrible service! At least apologize!!

It was the first time I have been here but they made me very impressed. A beautiful restaurant, good atmosphere, great service, delicious foods, and most important, the best Pho ever. Everything here is wonderful.

In need of a good Pho fix so tried out this place. Ordered the large Pho Tai (beef) and when I received my order noticed there was no bean sprouts and the beef serving was less than generous (like 4 or 5 bite size chunks of beef). Everything else was ok - but have to admit I was very disappointed...

Great service and is a clean place to eat. I gave it a 4 stars because the only thing I had here is pho and it is really good. Once I try something else I will see if it is a 5 stars.

This place is one of the best Vietnamese places in north Seattle! I love their good, it can get pretty busy on Saturday mornings. Their bun rieu (hopefully I spelled that correct) is a good go to when you're craving it. Their ginger fish sauce is delicious! If you're caving thing beyond pho, pho 36 has it!

Came here for lunch with the hubby...He had the bun bo hue and I had the pho dac biet. Overall, the heat of the broth was great... the broth itself was fragrant and I had enjoyed it. the portions were a good size...so much much that I could only finish a third of what I had... The one little downside from my husband was that he thought his pork hock in his bun bo hue was stale, but he ate it anyways. Despite that, I'm sure we will come back and try other dishes, and the service was quick/friendly. I'm interested in trying their banh xeo...so, if anyone has tried it at this place, let me know.

The father is never seen, the fish died, the food quality has diminished. His kids try to run the place now, kinda sad

Friendly service, clean restaurant and a decent bowl of pho. Also had the fresh rolls and their peanut sauce is pretty good. It's a good go-to pho restaurant in Lynnwood

Pretty good Pho here... 3 and 1/2 stars for me. I'd say i was pleasantly surprised but not overwhelmed. Service is good, very clean restaurant. Fresh sprouts. My friend said they could be more heavy handed with the meats... I found mine to be fine. Decent size too... sligtly higher in price, around $6.50 a bowl. I ate everything so good sign! :) i didnt try the vn sandwiches but they are around $4 bucks.

The food was good and I definitely reccomend this place, however the service was very slow, the poor boy was the only waiter helping multiple tables, and the food took a very long time. Didnt recieve some of our drink until halfway through the meal.

My northend go to place for Pho place was closed so I found this place with my Yelp app. I was hungover and hungry as f*** during my lunch break from class. I sat at an empty table. I finally made eye contact and wave over the skinny asian kid with glasses to get some help with a menu. I ask for glass of ice water. Waited. Notice right away the menu was limited on Pho and not much selection on broken steam rice dishes. The prices are higher than I am use to for similar items in Seattle with better options of meat and variety. I wave the kid over again. I didn't see anything I like so I order a special order of Pho with meatballs, beef flanks, and tendon. I like that they accommodate me on my request. I finally got the glass of iced water from the owner with only one napkin. LOL. I guess you need to order first before you get some iced water? All the pho is beef broth but the bland and salty. It should be more savory with touches of sweetness. The broth should be so good that I don't need to add anything to it but I needed to add the basil, sriracha, another hotsauce, jalapeno, hoisin, lime, and pepper. Large is about $7.15 but charge me more for my special order....so I expected more flavor to the broth and more meat. If you are going to have the same prices or more than I Love Pho in Bellevue it shouldn't just be two meatballs cut in half to make it look more, small pieces of tendon, and more meat. I was also disappointed that the bean sprouts was old with discoloring on it. Also, they charge you a dollar extra for using your credit card/debit card if the total is $10 or less so yeah, they charge me another buck for my lunch. Pho 36 doesn't have the worst but it is still over price Pho for average tasting bland Pho. Combine with the lack luster service, old bean spouts, and charging extra dollar for cc.....they deserve 2 Stars!

A great little hole in the wall. With all the pho places in Lynnwood, this place's broth really stands out. It tastes and looks rich not from powder. Grill chicken on the skewer and spring rolls are fresh and delicious. When I am near Alderwood Mall, I will make a stop here.

My brothers usually come here if they're craving for some pho. Bros said that this place is about as good as Pho Than Brothers. So out of curiosity, I decided to try this with my hubby and baby girl two weeks ago. Ambience was really nice for a pho resto. It was really clean and organize...very well maintained. Service was great. We were greeted nicely as soon as we entered. There were not a lot of people so we were seated right away. The waitress guy was very patient with us as we took our time looking at the menus. I ordered the veggie pho + meatball for me and my daughter. I have to disagree with my brothers. They were NOT as good as pho than brothers. The broth was a little bit bland to my taste. Hubby had the bbq ribs with rice. That was really good. But then again..you could never go wrong with bbq ribs..right? :) Overall.. My experience was great.. Would i return?? Not sure..

I have eaten here twice before my most recent visit. Both prior experiences were just ok, so I've always eaten at other places in the area. I decided to try Pho 36 again the other day with a friend and was disappointed in my food. It wasn't horrible, but the broth was lacking in flavor. It was bland and the spices were off. I also felt the noodles were a bit overcooked. The rare beef was already completely over cooked when it arrived to the table. I've never received rare beef completely cooked through like that before from anywhere I've ever ordered pho. The server we had this time was good and was accommodating when I asked for veggies to be added to my pho. The spring rolls we had were ok. The peanut sauce was also kind of bland. It wasn't terrible, but I probably won't go back as I just didn't prefer it.

Been at Pho 36 multiple times, the selection seems a bit more diverse than typical viet restaurants. Some remind me of Chinese or Thai style foods. "Crispy Trout Sweet & Sour Sauce" was awesome. Mango shake was awesome. "B1 - Bún Bò 36 c Bit" was super awesome. The beef and chicken viet sandwiches were good. Vermicelli was good to. Service was typical for a pho restaurant. The setting has been clean every time. Nice artwork on the wall, a bit dressed up for a pho place. After multiple visits with consistent good food, I highly recommend.

Their Bun Bo Hue was excellent. A lot of meat. Spicy and flavorful. Service was good and the place had a nice quiet feel. Ordered a Chinese pork sandwich to go. I'm sure it'll be great!

The pho food was ok large serving dish fair price The cons. Could have had more beef in the soup like other places ive ate at. Then I saw an employee come in from outside carry a backpack like he was fresh out of school, walk straight up to the counter grab peoples food and take it to their plate then headed to the cash register and gave cash a check somebody, then straite back again grab more food and brought it more customers never did he washes hands not even after coming in from outside when he started work for the day yuck can you say health code violation

This was my first pho experience, and I was so unimpressed. I said "Is pho supposed to be this bland?" Even after I added all the veggies, srichia sauce, lime, and hoisin. And it was expensive! I don't think I'll be back.

What a place! Try the Vietnamese pancake - a thin egg crepe folded over stir-fried bean sprouts, shrimp, little bits of meat ..delicious. Also try some pho, with many choices of meat (as well as with a tofu option) and again, just delicious, with a generous portion of "greens" that you can add (Thai basil and whatever those other leaves are.:)) Then wait until you get the bill - you'll ask, "Is this US currency?" as you will not have seen anything so inexpensive in a long time.

I was bummed when Kirirom, the Cambodian/Indochinese place that was here before, went away. You usually have a hard time forgiving a restaurant, even a good restaurant, for taking over when a favorite goes away. But in this case I'd be crazy not to. Actually, the fact that they kep the furniture and the place looks substantially similar to Kirirom in many ways probably makes it simultaneously a bit easier AND a bit tougher to forgive 36 for taking over for Kirirom. They do appear to have repainted the place, though, and that's one big reason why 36 rules the Lynnwood pho roost. For about a dollar more per dish, you feel like you're eating in an actual restaurant, instead of being surrounded by linoleum and flourescent tubes like you are in so many pho (and teriyaki) places. Service here is awesome. So friendly, so affable. I love people who are relaxed and having fun at work, all other things being equal. Great soup, great broth, great vegetables, great meat, great condiments, great appetizers. Great bubble tea. It ends up costing me a dollar or two more for a bowl of soup and a glass of tea here, and I am super loyal to the lady who owns Pho Ta Chau 'cause she's always so sweet to me. But 36 makes it effectively impossible for me to stay completely phonogamous.

This place was dynamite. There were copious amounts of goodness in each delectable bite. I ran across this place on a whim as my sister and I were headed to the olympic spa and needed just enough to fill us up so we were looking for something light to munch on but the servings were monstrous and the veggies fresh. Service was great place wasn't to full and they created a whimsical environment in there that helped ground me before my spa appointment. Thank you Pho 36 we shall be returning.

Very good. Thought I ordered Pho Tai over the phone (wondered why she asked me, "Chicken?"). When I arrived they had 2 orders of Beef Phad Thai ready. They were very nice about the mistake and gave me a little lesson in how to pronounce "Pho" (Vietnamese must be a tonal language -- you say "Pho" with a rising inflection, like asking a question). Enough about that. The Pho was very, very good. Highly recommended.

Great pho house! I love the broth and the sandwiches are very delicious. Also, it is probably the cleanest pho restaurant I've been to.

Big fan of the bahn mi here. The french bread is light and flakey, and they toast it slightly before serving, so it comes out warm. Bread done right is is a big plus for me because some times bahn mi bread is hard and dense and a little rough on the roof of the mouth. Also, the grilled meat inside is delicious, and they serve generous portions unlike other restaurants that skimp on the meat. Highly recommend the grilled BBQ pork bahn mi.

Do you live in Lynnwood? Are you constantly on the lookout for some yummy place to eat and find yourself reluctantly choosing some giant chain restaurant [what else is there in Lynnwood]? Do you long for those little gems that are sprinkled throughout Seattle but don't always feel like making the 20-30 minute trek south (not to mention parking somewhere)? Are you tired of answering yes to all these questions? What ho! Have I got a recomendation for you! Living within walking distance of Pho 36 renders me a frequent eater of this restaurant. I used to go there when it was still "Kirirom Bakery" and was sad to see them go. Little did I know that such a wonderful restaurant would come to replace them! The food is legit Vietnamese cuisine. The owner and cook both hail from Vietnam (moved here about a year ago I think) and are really passionate about serving authentic food from their country. There Pho (which I actually haven't had yet since they moved in here because I'm always distracted by all the other delicious dishes!) is supposedly very close, if not exact, to the soup they've had back home. Pho not your thing? No problem!! Go have a Vietnamese sandwich. I think it's some of the best sandwiches I've had (including Seattle area). I recommend the Lemon grass Beef sandwich. So good!! Next, I recommend (as did the previous reviewer) the Bun dish. Its the perfect dish on a hot day and leaves your belly feeling light and happy. Omg! Don't let me forget the Calamari!! The owner personally recommended the Calamari appetizer the first time I went in after they opened. Ok. So, picture the shape of an onion ring--you are thinking a giant breaded ring of goodness...mmmm.....fried onion...breading...goooood...--still with me? Ok. Now, replace said onion with Calamari. You heard me. Onion rings will never be the same again after having these puppies! And just when you thought it couldn't possibly get any better, they give you complimentary Thai iced tea. Oh yea, its magical.

For my first visit I had trouble deciding what to get because there seemed to be many great options. I got the Bun Bo Hue (with noodles, no pork blood) and I was pleasantly surprised. As soon as I saw it I knew it was going to be good. Full of interesting and complex flavors, this hearty dish will satisfy your craving for something out of the ordinary! I hear this dish is difficult to make well, and they certianly do a great job! Vietnamese food is one of my favorite cuisines and having been to many great places around Seattle, Vietnam, as well as having homemade cooking I can say this place seems pretty legit. Make sure to check it out!

The fried rice is the best I have EVER had. The rest of the food is OK, but the service is horrible. Sure, they take your order, and they bring you your food. But they never come back to check on you and if you want to get to-go containers or pay your bill, you have to go up to the counter. It's not the cleanest place either. I will definitely go back because, like I said, the fried rice is the BEST. But I'll get it to-go from here on out.

Place is a bad rundown. Pho was acceptable; the vermicelli bbq dish was not. I would recommend it if you have a real fixing for Viet food but otherwise would bypass in general.

I really like Pho 36. For a multitude of reasons, not just because they gave us (my bf and I) free Thai Iced Tea, but because I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. We used to come here all the time, when it was Kirirom, a Cambodian restaurant. In fact, I had made it a point to be there on Kiriroms last day, just to say good-bye, and order ridiculous amounts of food there with my friends. Needless to say, I really didn't think the new Pho restaurant could POSSIBLY compare. But now I'm pleased to say, I was wrong. The owner was very attentive, super sweet, and seemed genuinely happy to help. The food comes out very fast, is in healthy portions, and is delicious! I had a rice noodle bowl with barbecue pork and egg rolls, which for some reason seems to be one of the only dishes I get whenever I go to a Vietnamese restaurant. Go for the food, support a local restaurant, and enjoy the very genuine service :-)

Where were our free Thai iced teas that everyone wrote about??? That's what I want to know. I went there with my Vietnamese boyfriend for dinner last night and I was expecting some free iced teas and some damn good pho. But we were very disappointed. To be honest, the pho smelled absolutely delicious and it tasted pretty good too... BUT my bf insisted that the pho was NOT worth $7. And you know what? I agree. Pho is usually about $5 or $6 for a small bowl but come on, $6.95 for a regular and $7 something for a large? Wow, that's the most expensive pho I've had. And I thought Lynnwood was supposed to be cheaper than Seattle. The bf also insisted that I give them one star because there was no service whatsoever. The guy basically took our order, gave us our food and then never came back. He didn't refill our waters and never checked up on us during our meal and we were the only two people in the restaurant!!! Man, they are really dead on Wednesday nights or something. It was kind of awkward. The restaurant's interior was pretty nice, really clean for a pho place so that was nice... but honestly, I wasn't all that impressed by the pho quality OR service. This is a rare 2-star rating, unfortunately... and I love Viet food too =/

Was looking for a light late lunch in Lynnwood. Went to Yelp and found this restaurant close by to where we were. Ordered the Spicy Bun Bo Hue noodle soup which had good flavor, but not spicy at all. Love the Iced Drip Coffee with condensed milk. If I am in the neighborhood, I might come by to try other noodle on the menu. Good friendly service.

Pho 36 is one of my favorite pho spots to hit up. Not only is it conveniently located, but the food & service is right on. The man that always takes my boyfriend & I's order is very kind & he has never gotten our order wrong. The broth for the pho is delicious, if anything it is authentic pho broth (if you're southeast Asian & your mother makes traditional pho, i.e. slow cooks the pot with the bone hide, carrots, onions, etc. Then you should be able to relate.) All in all, this is a definite restaurant to try whenever you want to try a new spot & want to have a delicious bowl of pho!

Did not dine in the restaurant but ordered to go. The Fresh Spring Rolls with shrimp, pork, rice vermicelli and vegetables were a refreshing change from the usual fried rolls. Rice vermicelli was cooked al dente and the dipping sauce had good flavor. The fried chicken wings were good, but may not appeal to many due to the strong fish sauce flavor (although I will order it again). Ordered three Banh Mi sandwiches - grilled pork, chicken and beef. The beef had the most flavor. The ratio of bread to filling could be better - either more filling or less bread. I highly recommend the Salad Bo if you do not want a heavy meal. Made with sauteed beef, lettuce, onions, green beans, tomato slices, fried egg (bottom is fried brown but yolk is soft) served with lime sauce. The Pho Tai (beef) and Pho Ga (chicken) were both very good and can serve two. If you'd like to try a soup other than Pho for a change, I suggest the Bún Bò Thit Gân Cha - noodle soup topped with pork, beef shank, soft tendon and lemon grass, and herbs. Lots of meat and great flavor!

Never had Vietnamese food before, so I don't have much to compare it to other than other similar Asian dishes. Pho 36 was a great little place to stop and get a healthy veggie rich meal. I got a noodle stirfry like dish that was absolutely fabulous. The mushrooms were fresh and the right amount of firm. The spring rolls were delicious and I am completely jealous of my companion's noodle bowl soups... next time for sure! They smelled and looked fabulous. The waitstaff was very friendly and the service was timely. These guys do a great job and my only complain was they didnt have the two beers on the list we asked for... but on a monday night, I'm understanding. Great little place!

Pho 36 is going to be one of my must-visits when I cross the border to go shopping in Seattle. Having moved from the San Francisco Bay Area with lots of good Vietnamese restaurants to Vancouver, BC with mediocre to awful Vietnamese restaurants, Pho 36 is a great find on Yelp! on a recent trip to Everett. I made a mistake of ordering a rice plate instead of noodle soup. My friends got noodle soup (with beef, tripes, tendons, briskets, blood pudding) and it looked so good. My rice plate with grilled pork chops and fried eggs was very good too but I wished I had what my friends had! Next time ... We still miss the banh mi in the Bay Area but the one we had at Pho 36 was tasty and flavourful with light crispy baguette that is soft and chewy on the inside. Again, better than any banh mi we've had in Vancouver.

Great Pho! My husband and I were suprised with the quality of the food at this place- it's a bit hard to find but once you are inside you are greeted with the kind staff members, and great food! I would like for there to be a chicken option on the Pho, there was only a beef selection, that's the only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5

It was on a Monday and my local favorite pho place was closed for dinner. I guess business is slow for dinner on Monday's, so as I was leaving the parking lot I saw a sign for Pho 36. The interior was clean and understated, which for a pho place is somewhat unusual. I ordered pho with eye of round, briskett and tendon. The portion was substantional and the broth was very flavorful. My girlfriend had the bun with the fried roll and pork. She mentioned that they were a little skimpy on the roll, since they only had one where most places have 2. One saving grace was the sauce that comes with it. She said it was full of flavor and really balanced. The waiter/owner was really attentive and made sure we had enough water and were satisfied with our order. The only draw back to this place is the location. It's next to a church, yes a church in a strip mall. I find it strange to see one there, but hey you can get an order of Jesus and a large pho without moving your car. Must be an eco-friendly sect. There were some teenagers in the parking lot practicing volley ball, which was really annoying since the restaurant door was open and you could hear them playing. Anyways, I would highly recommend them. They would have received 5 stars if they had cream puffs, lychee water or some other appetizer to set themselves above the competition.

This great new find, I've driven by millions of times and thought, I'd really like to go there. Well, today I was in the right area, starving and decided to get some take out for dinner. Must admit, I was slightly disappointed, as I walked in the interior was so inviting. I wanted to sit down and dine. But, being solo and having a long day, it just wasn't the right time. That was my disappointment. Immediately, I told the man who greated me I would return again and with more friends. He was really patient with me as I really didn't know what I wanted. I picked a dish that he immediately turned a nose to while proudly saying it was a dish from his home city. I told him not to worry, that I'm pretty adventurous when it came to food. Stood to my convictions, having lemongrass before, understanding Vietnamese meats are different from our american choices. When I got home received my first whiff. Yep, it was pungent but in a good nutritious way. Put all the pieces together in a small bowl, leaving more in the containers for seconds. Currently on my fourths. The noodles were amazing and different. Can't wait to go back!

This place is a gem. I went in here today for lunch with my mom and we were both very impressed. I ordered the lemongrass beef banh mi sandwich and a thai iced tea while my mom ordered some vegetable pho in beef broth. My sandwich was perfect. The beef was cooked and flavored perfectly, there was the perfect meat-to-other-stuff ratio on my sandwich, and the bread was delightful. Jalapenos came on the side for people like myself who like to turn up the heat. My mom also really enjoyed her pho, and I was so jealous when it came out because there were so many veggies in it! The decor inside is great. The service is impeccable, the waitress was so nice and suggested a dish that my mom thoroughly enjoyed. On top of that, our food was brought out lightning quick. I will definitely be back here and singing the praises of this restaurant to anyone who will listen.

My daughter wanted Pho for dinner, and we decided to try a new place for a change (we usually go to Pho Duc across the street). We were the first ones there; 6pm on a Friday so were seated right away. The dining area was clean as well as the tables (which I was surprised to find since the floor was tile!). I wanted to try some authentic fare, so after discussing with my daughter which of the two family soups to try (the Tom Yum or the Vietnamese Sour Soup) she opted for the Vietnamese sour soup. I am so glad she did! The waiter suggested us to order it with shrimp, after I had first opted for chicken. I told him I wanted it authentic, and he said you must have it with shrimp. Unfortunately, after we ordered, my son started acting up and we had to take our order "to go". When we got home, I laid out the spread and was so excited to open everything up. The Vietnamese Sour Soup - This was by far the tastiest one I have had, with plenty of veggies and shrimp. I was also surprised to see they used FRESH pineapple! (Which of course they should!) At first I thought it was a bit salty, but after putting in some chili paste, it was PERFECT! Lemon grass, mint, bean sprouts, shrimp, tomato, and young lotus stem in a mild sour broth = the perfect remedy for a cold! We also ordered the Vietnamese pancake - DELISH (full of shrimp, bean sprouts, pork) and the cake wasn't a bit oily. The beautiful greens and fish sauce were perfectly packaged separately, which consisted of iceberg lettuce, Thai basil, cilantro and shiro leaves. Did I mention they even cut a hole in the top of the container to let out the steam from the pancake? So we had NO SOGGY PANCAKE! Thank you! Lastly we had the short rice noodle with chicken, broccoli and egg. Yum! The chicken was crispy and the sauce was the perfect balance of sweet and salty, but without the "oyster sauce" flavor. The kiddos loved this (and so did we!) Even though we didn't get to stay to have dessert, drinks and a shake, the food was spot on and what's even better - NO MSG! And it still was delish after a 10min drive home. I can't wait to try this place again - with better behaving kids.

My wife and I went to Lynnwood Mall for shopping and stopped by this Pho 36. We saw the outside of the shop wasn't too pleasing cuz it looks quite dark. But we decided to go have a try and we're very happy that we did. The inside is quite bright and clean and tidy, and much bigger than the look from outside. Menu has plenty of varieties. We both ordered a hot & spicy noodles but it wasn't as spicy as we expected. The server (suspiciously to be the owner) told us to add extra chili sauce up to our taste without we asked. The portion is in reasonably big size with lots of meats. The only downside was the noodles were a little overcooked and in too small pieces. As many people might know, there would be a dish of bean sprouts and leaves of herbs according to traditional Vietnamese noodles in soup. Most restaurants we've been, the bean sprouts and herbs were not in good shape and quality (you know what I mean). But the ones provided by this Pho 36 were surprisingly fresh, even I'm not a big fan of these things. Overall, it worth a 4 star!

Had some excellent pho tai chin. Stopped on my way down from Canada, some delicious pho was just what the dr ordered. Great prices, great food, what else could you ask for.

I only come to Lynnwood occasionally, but I pass Pho 36 everytime, so I had to check them out. First off, I wasn't really up for soup, so I decided on a Bahn Mi--the grilled beef with lemon grass. It seemed pricey at $4.25 until it arrived--what a great sandwich! I think most places are low priced on the Bahn Mi, and deservedly so, since they are puny, but not here, its the real deal. The waiter was obviously the owner and when I asked for Cafe Sua Da he did what few Pho personnel do, he asked if I also wanted tea. He didn't assume just because I was a Nordic-type of fella I wouldn't want to wash my Cafe down Viet style with green tea. I'll be back when I want Pho or one of the other dishes, and I expect similar quality.

After all the shameless plugging of this Pho restaurant, I decided to take my sister there this weekend to try it, since its about 5 blocks from her apartment. This is the old Kirirom Bakery, and the interior hasn't changed much- save the cleanliness factor. Most of the tables were dirty, and the one I wanted to sit at we were deterred from because "it wasn't cleared". Well, get that (dirty) wet rag and swab it down so we can sit there!! Indeed, most of the tables on a Saturday were not cleaned and cleared and there were at least three people working in the back. We were seated and given water to drink. My glass was visibly dirty, and I shared my sister's water. It had a funky taste like it had come from a garden hose. We ordered Pho and spring rolls. We received the Pho first- very tasty, delicious broth with not as much seasoning as I am accustomed to. Then, the waiter tried to bring us a chicken bahn mi- We didn't order that, and I reminded him we had wanted spring rolls. I noticed other diners were having a hard time communicating with the waitstaff- The Pho restaurant I frequent most in Everett, the proprietors speak the least amount of English you can imagine- and I have never gotten a wrong order from them. The spring roll was a huge disappointment- bland, the shrimp was fishy tasting, and it was served after we were almost done with our Pho which left us little room. I wouldn't say I will never go back, maybe this was an off day, because there are such glowing reviews from my fellow yelpers. I will try some different dishes next time and hope that I get better service and clean water next time! I miss Kirirom!

Went here today for about the 4th time. We were not greeted when walking in and was rudely told to sit anywhere while the waiter was walking away from us with no eye contact...We sat for literally 10 minutes with no service, no menus and the dining room was 90% empty. Couple of the owners friends come in, he greets them and laughs, sits them down and immediately gives them menus and drinks while we continue sitting there shocked....We got up and left, worst service I have ever seen. I used to love this place, but I will never go back after that.

Run of the mill Vietnamese Pho place. We were recommended this place by friends so we thought we would give it a try. The place looks suspect from the outside but turns out to be presentable on the inside. We were greeted and seated immediately. There were about 3 or 4 other customers. The tables are sturdy wood with matching chairs and the windows decorated with bamboo plants. The menu is standard with pho prices reasonable and entrees on the lower side. 6:50 for regular pho and 6.95 for the vermicelli bowl. The service was good and the food was just okay. They are a little heavy on the salt; especially the broth. Overall, it wasn't bad but it wasn't nearly as good as the other pho place we have tried.

Still great service, got to try the Goi Cuon (spring rolls), and Bi Cuon (shredded pork , and pork skin rolls) and of course Bun Bo Hue! The Bun Bo Hue or (BBH) for short, was delicious and the flavor was spot on. The only thing I needed to do was add the garnishes, and the chili sate to make it hot, I mean so hot that it produces sweat on my forehead ( the special chili sauce they make in house) it's the one that has oil in it. The bowl is quite big and the amount they give you is generous! They have the special, and two others for those who want the flavor without the pork hock or blood cakes. We went with the one with all the fixins. The rolls were good, and they are made to order, which makes a difference! Even with us ordering drinks, they still offered us complimentary thai iced teas which was pretty sweet! Ok, people, let's get this straight, I witnessed something very strange today, a guy next to us ordered BBH and I saw him put in Hoisin sauce!!!!! Honestly I have never heard or seen this in all my life! It just doesn't go well...Especially with the fragrant broth of BBH! Even the owner did a brow lift! Hoisin sauce is not needed for BBH! Ok, now that is off my chest. Oh I love the iced coffee, this is one of the rare places that I get the actual drip filter with my coffee and not pre-mixed! Yay!

What a delightful experience! We were looking for a Vietnamese Restaurant in Lynnwood and PHO36 was the only one showed up on our GPS. So, without knowing anything about it, we took a chance. The family operated restaurant staff is so welcoming. They re-opened restaurant only 10 months ago. They definitely know what they are doing. Customer service and client's positive experience is very important to the owners. We had some questions about an item that was not on the menu. The chef without hesitation created fresh spring rolls with delicious grilled meat, lemongrass, basil and thin rice noodles. Pho broth was the best, super tasty. Food is fresh and very reasonable priced. The restaurant and the bathrooms were clean which is very important to me when I visit Thai, Indian, Korean and Vietnamese restaurant. Pho36 is a hidden jam in Lynnwood.

Meh, this place is not bad for the location, the food can be better but what can you expect ... this is Lynnhood! I got the sandwich n my mom got some pho and let me tell ya, the sandwhich was way over-priced (just like most of the food on the menu) it was basically $5 for a pork sandwich that just didn't hit the spot. the service was typical of an asian restaurant ... non existant unless you call them over. **That's how it is in Asia! you want service, call them over, it's not rude, their motto is leave them be to eat because they don't want to be bothered unless they need something. ** (I made that up .. but it makes sense doesn't it) Americans complain about service but don't understand the culture ... sigh ... nut- up and stop whining. You want fast service ... Mcdonald's is just down the street! All in all, not a place that i'd recommend but since there isn't much of a selection, so go to the other Pho place a block away

OK, it's been a few months... time to update now that they're not new. No more Thai Iced Teas :(. They still have the best broth in the area bar none. They're always friendly and helpful. I have to say... even though they have fantastic Pho... I've ended up over at Pho Duc on many occasions because of how they feel like a family establishment (and they're cheaper.) Pho 36... you rock... but please, please, quit charging a credit card surcharge!

I was in the Seattle area for a few weeks in July. One of the first thing I had to do was seek out some VNese restaurants, since those are lacking here in the Triangle. On recommendations from family who lived there, I tried out Pho 36. I was really impressed. The place was clean and airy! If you've been to some of the other VNese or Chinese restaurants in downtown Seattle, you'll know what I mean and will really appreciate this restaurant! The server I had was quick and friendly. Think he was in his late 20s/early 30s. The food was very good...comparable to my mom-in-law's and she makes the best VNese food! Btw, I had the pho, bbh (bun bo hue), and the sandwich. Obviously, I was there and came back for more. I did not eat all those food in one sitting!

We came for the Vietnamese sandwiches, we came back again and again for the iced Vietnamese coffee. Pho 36 has become a regular lunch destination when I'm working in this part of town. Back to the sandwiches, Pho 36's are among the best I've eaten. Good crusty bread that's not so crusty you shared the roof of you mouth. Nicely spiced grilled chicken with a good balance of cucumber, sarachi, mayonnaise, cilantro and daikon combine to excite my taste buds. Indulging in a Vietnamese coffee, slowly brewed into a couple of tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk, and then poured over ice provides a nice caffeine boast to ward off the post-lunch tiredness. All-in-all, if you're in the area, stop in for a bite.

Average pho flavor. Nothing special. Overpriced ($7.15 for a large, $6.50 for a regular) Poor/Mediocre Service - No one in the restaurant and the lady at the counter couldn't come help us twice because she was on the phone chit chatting on the phone. It was clear it wasn't a customer because she was hiding behind a plant and had to beckon over a man who was friendlier. Cleanliness - 1 Star Well Ventilated - 1 Star. This is really important if you don't want everyone you meet that day to know what you had for your last meal.

I came in here a few days ago with my mom. When I first walk in, this doesn't look like a Pho restaurant at all. It's filled with pictures and designs, very clean and pretty, it have a homey feeling. Anyway, we ordered Pho 36 special, egg rolls, Vietnamese pancakes, and 2 Thai tea. Yes, it's for 2 people. The waiters were very friendly and funny when he was taking our order. Our food came out 10 minutes later, which is faster than most places. The Pho was spectacular, or "dope" as teenagers says nowadays. It wasn't bland, it was rich and flavorful. The egg rolls were super good too, might be better than my mother's. But, the Vietnamese pancake got my attention the most. Everything was perfect, the filling was perfect size, it was crunchy. Even the fish sauce was EPIC, lol. The meal ended perfectly with the Thai tea, sweet and heavenly. It was a super nice experience for us both. It wasn't too pricey. I would surely return for a 2nd, 3rd and 100th visits. ;)

wow what a great spot for food! even the new mexican restaurant that opened up is very good. I highly recommend the asada with any of the choices... wait I'm getting side-tracked - this is about Pho 36. After readiing some of the reviews here, I decided to go and get the Bun Bo Hue because I've never had it before and I love trying new things. Of course I got the order with all the fixin's and I was pretty impressed. The meat ball and the fish cake was something that I found really tasty. I've eaten meatballs from different restaurants and never really liked it due to the rubbery texture and bland taste. But theirs were a definite exception. I was very impressed with that. Although I enjoyed the dish I will definitely go in for their pho next time. The service was great, the place was pristine and the free Thai Iced Tea was delicious. Another first for me. Or maybe theirs is more authentic, but it did cut the spiciness really nicely - I put too much of their house red pepper condiment in my soup. I also ordered the shredded spring roll and thought it was decent but again, I need to try their regular spring roll. Definitely worth the drive and I'm going to have to go back next weekend for some pho!

So I went to Pho 36 about a week ago during my lunch break for work. From the outside it looks a bit shabby, but decided I should give it a try. First thing I noticed? The loud, and I mean LOUD, music playing. It was relaxing though, said my boyfriend (he was on the phone, so it was pretty loud. Did I mention loud?). Anyways, the pho was a bit more overpriced than I would have liked, and it was one of the pho restaurants that charge an additional $0.50 for use of a card. As to the pho quality, I enjoyed it more than Pho Duc, which is across the street. The noodles were great, and they gave an extra heaping of bean sprouts and 2 cut limes. I would definitely recommend this if you don't mind paying a bit extra for pho. I will go again next time I have a hankering for some good Vietnamese noodle soup!

Overpriced, hardly any meat in their soups. Quality of the broth is OKAY. I wouldn't recommend this place. I had the pho with everything, and only had one strand of tripe. DISLIKE. Only go here if you're desperate. On a good note, the staff are friendly.

My bf and I like to compare how good the pho is based on the flavor of the broth. The broth here gets a big thumbs up from me. It had just the right amount of salt and lots of flavor. The place itself is clean and we were greeted quickly. We got two complimentary thai ice tea which I thought was pretty cool. Service was fast and prices were reasonable. The only nitpicky thing was that there was no napkins at the table and the sweet fish sauce didn't come with the rice dish we ordered which I thought was pretty standard (we did get it though when requested). We also got a sandwich to go but apparently, it was so good that the bf ate it all before he can share (thumbs down!) lol. It sucks that the Cambodian restaurant is no longer here but on the bright side, at least the pho was good :)

The service was really good. They were really nice to us. My wife had the grilled chicken with rice. It didn't taste like it was grilled at all. Other restaurants make theirs better. The soup it came with was pretty good though. I had the rare beef with flank pho. It was ok. It wasn't as good as Pasteur's. I probably won't go because I can get better pho elsewhere.

Visiting from Honolulu. Read reviews; agree this an excellent place for Pho addicts. Great service & very clean. Only negative was the A/C was not working well. Otherwise highly recommended!

I had their blood-cake & pig-hand noodle soup which is something that you don't find from other Pho noodle place. The soup was okay. One other thing I love this place is that they make Vietnamese sandwiches, get one for tea-time snack in one of your extremely hungey days~

My Boyfriend and I went there to find a good Pho place in Lynnwood. I had pho ga which was very good all white meat. My boyfriend had some noodle dish that was yummy too. The owner brought us a orange cream drink on the house. Overall great place to eat.

i went there specifically to pick up Banh Mi's for lunch after reading the rave's here & sadly, was disappointed. we ordered a Grilled Pork & a Tofu & both were below average & not close to an authentic Banh Mi - mayo in a Banh Mi & none of the tangy sauce? c'mon! even the pork was not cooked well enough :(

I've ate Pho up and down the Eastside, Seattle, and all parts in between. This is hands-down the best Pho in the North Side and probably better than anything I've had in the city. Their Bahn Mi Sandwhiches are also incredible (especially the Lemongrass Beef). The owner is extremely friendly and will guide you thru the extensive menu and point out his favorites. I told him it was my 1st time in and he took care of the rest. They have a Blue Crab Noodle Soup dish that is unbelievable and everything I've tried has been better than the last. You won't think much of the place from the outside (it's over by the Lynwood Convention Center) but the place is incredibly nice inside and clean. If you like Vietnames food, this place is a slam dunk. I created a Yelp account just to do a review of this place. 5 Stars WOW!

Love the banh canh cua ( crab noodle ) here , it's very tasty . Just hope they have more crab :(. My hubby got grill lemongrass beef . It was ok nothing special . I did not like the spring roll sauces . Way too sweet . The customer service is just like the rest of the Yelper comment here . Not that great ....

I'd give this a 3.5. It is one of the better lunch spots in Lynnwood, and I have been coming here on and off for 4 years now. The food is generally pretty good, better than what most of Lynnwood offers. I quit eating the sandwich a couple years ago because they were so stingy on the meat, but I tried it again and the size of it is respectable so it's basically my go-to sandwich spot. I always order chicken pho with added vegetables (ends up being around $10) but it hits the spot. Like some of the other reviews have said, the customer service leaves a little to be desired. The last time I was there is took them 35 minutes to deliver a sandwich and basic pho to me, while serving people who walked in to eat and walked in to make a to-go order. And on that same occasion they forgot my coffee order, and another time I had a waitress girl tell me that No I couldn't order coffee, it was very odd. I feel like Tuesdays might be there busy day, so I would avoid it because they seem to get a little overwhelmed when they are busy.

We went here for the first time the other day and both agreed that it was pretty good. We both had the beef pho soup. He broth was very tasty. Inside was very relaxing and was different than what we thought it might be from the outside. Overall good experience.

They were friendly and greeted me as they sat me down to one of the tables. I felt like they need to work on their customer service more with guests. But what would you ever expect from an Asian place? No offense. Anyways, I ordered the shredded pork rolls and it wasn't good. I definitely will not order it again. Lol, I've had better and they could of added more things in the roll. It didn't taste authentic nor look. As my entree, I ordered bun bo hue, surprisingly the broth was good. But it's not the best. One thing I didn't like really... Was how not once was I ever checked on and I was out of water the whole time I was eating my dinner. Anyways, you guys need to check on your customers and at least refill their waters.

This is BY FAR my most favorite pho ever! I love the service; they're super fast and friendly. And the pho delicious! My friends think this place makes magic pho that heals our sickness and takes away our sadness. They also have amazing spring rolls with peanut sauce :) Eat here! SO good!!

the best soup in town. As a Vietnamese im pretty sure the restaurant has an authentic Vietnamese Cuisine. I have tried all the food here and i love all of it, the Pho soup, the spicy noodle Bun Bo Hue, the Vermicelli Salad noodle is dope. 5 stars !! Ngon !!!

  • Diana N.

The item you must try is ultimately the "bun bo hue". Slightly spicy, the broth is fragrant with its abundance of lemongrass. The ratio of meat that you get in this dish, as well as the variety of different cuts & textures cannot be beat anywhere else. International District included. From the brisket, the ground pork patties, to the pork knuckle; were all well cooked and tender to the bite. Perfect for the carnivorous, the chilly rainy days, the crappy bad days, or any other day of the year. Even my picky parents have given this bowl of soup their golden seal of approval. It's obvious the Bun Bo Hue here is the owner's family specialty. Definitely a mainstay for sure! I also tried the Bamboo Duck Noodle Soup, which I couldn't help since it was a "new menu item". I like to live on the edge. This dish customarily always comes with a side of duck salad, garnished with fried shallots, some pickled radishes & carrots, and a side of fish sauce/ginger vinaigrette sauce you dip the duck; as well as season the salad with. The salad was my favorite part, because the main component of the salad is finely shredded or sliced crunchy cabbage. The broth was perfect, mildly sweet and savory with back notes of bamboo. My only complaint was that there wasn't enough bamboo shoots, and the duck was overcooked. Since this is a new menu item, there is always room for trial and error. I'm sure if they remove the duck from the boiling broth like 10 minutes ago, it would've been a home run! Service was quick and prompt. Bathrooms were tidy. Decor was typically cheesy with fake foliage of jungle vines hanging left & right. Menu had many dishes I wanted to come back and try. They also have complimentary Vietnamese newspapers to take home, which of course I did for my pops =)

The service is ok. But the food is great. Sometimes I have to ask multiple times for a drink or for napkins, they don't bring extra plates for appetizers. But the food makes up for the service. Lots of fresh vegetable in the fried rice. Like bok Choy and shiitake mushrooms. The pho has a nice balance of salt and umami flavor. We weren't huge fans of the spring rolls here, but we loved everything else.

I used to come here on a regular basis since I moved to Lynnwood in '09. It had been ok to very good on most occasions. But since early 2014, their sons started running the place. I think the mother may still cook in the kitchen. The last straw with these kids was when they served us rotten orange juice, but not before the service totally sucked. To make matters worse, when I complained about the disgusting OJ, he literally copped an attitude with me, rather than apologizing. C ya, Pho 36.
