Best bed and breakfast in Leavenworth. Absolutely gorgeous view. We stayed in the Almrosen room and it is gorgeous. You can light your own wood burning fire, have a large jet tub, his and hers sinks, the shower heads shoot out from 2 sides head to knee. The bed is cozy, amazing quality sheets, and has a sheer princess cover to enclose the entire bed (you have to pull it out around the bed yourself) It also has a private balcony to overlook the mountains. We used the hot tub outside and drank wine at night. Randy & Renee are very nice and accommodating with anything you need. The breakfast was fantastic and we had various meats, cheeses, oatmeal with many toppings, English muffins, fresh oj, and homemade Aebleskivers served fresh (Danish pancakes) it is close to the heart of Leavenworth, so you can walk or drive, your choice. (2 min drive, 10- 15 min walk) I cannot wait to stay here again and cannot say enough nice things about Abendblume. If I could live there I would! My significant other and myself cannot wait to go back again and are looking forward to our next stay.
i've been meaning to write a review of the abendblume since my wife and i stayed there for a weekend last spring. we had a wonderful time! renee is such a delightful and welcoming host. the breakfast that renee serves is simply fabulous. it's a bed and breakfast--do not miss the breakfast! it's a wonderful opportunity to meet the other guests and to chat with renee as well. and the breakfast itself is amazing--pastries, coffee, eggs, wow! i'm getting weak just imagining it right now. the setting is just stunning. the views of the outside surroundings, near and far, are picture-perfect. and the inn itself is so comfortable and cozy, we really felt at home. the location is away from the bustle of downtown leavenworth, which is perfect for a quiet weekend getaway. but it's also very close to town, so that you can easily enjoy the rest of what leavenworth has to offer. there are no large street signs giving directions to the abendblume, so just keep your eye out for the inn as you're driving up. if you find yourself driving up a hill, you've gone too far and you'll have to turn around. this was our first visit to leavenworth. i imagine we'll be back again soon, and when we do, we hope to stay at the abendblume.
I'm sorry, I haven't yelped a review in quite a while - but my experience at this place needed to shared. pronto. just got back yesterday. My husband and I were lucky because we decided to take a quick weekend getaway to Leavenworth from Seattle spontaneously - all the lodging for the area was booked but there happened to be one room available the night we needed it! (After speaking to the owner, there was a last minute cancellation) - Thankfully it worked out! I spoke with Renee over the phone ( I believe the co-owner with her husband) and she was lovely and made the reservation for me - When we arrived, I felt like I was whisked away to the country side - It was about a mile away from the downtown area - close enough for a quick 3 minute drive into the Bavarian village and far enough for a romantic, serene retreat. -the entry way/driveway is magical! it's a long driveway lined with birch trees -the grounds are extremely well-maintained the grass was lush & bright green/flowers planted abundantly - and the front entrance was literally just like a dream..never been to Germany, but I think its what it would look like living in the countryside... -greeted by Becky (Renee's sister) when we arrived. very courteous & sweet. (dessert was offered in the evening upon arrival - cheesecake & coffee! -loved the European feel & design of rooms -our room was the almrosen and couldn't have been better. (fireplace that we used! although, its the summer - it was nice having the crackling fire in the evening...) amazing bedding & king-sized bed - jet tub & multi-shower heads in the shower.. -we used the hot tub in the evening and was able to soak it up among the stars -breakfast was served in the morning by Becky -homemade banana bread with eggs caprice, fresh fruits, yogurt/oatmeal & morning breads with fresh coffee/ juice...my husband and I ate it out on the patio and just enjoyed the mountains and hills -Sunday morning an elderly man also played the alpenhorn! that was a treat :) This was my first bed & breakfast experience - although, I have nothing to base my review on - I truly believe the quality and experience was TOP NOTCH - the bar has been set HIGH....I would highly highly recommend Abendblume!!
