Quaint and comfy cafe for home style cooked breakfast with organic eggs and local ingredients. Nice selection of fresh baked goods that look so delicious. We are having a croissant with ham, cheese and eggs and a Burrito with black beans, cheese, eggs and veggies. The burrito came with zucchini (oops, wife is allergic to this family of veggies) so we left that out. Then the chef came out to our table and asked what veggies we would like in the burrito--lots of mushrooms! Oh boy!!! Both were so scrumptious and hearty served with a mouth-watering presentation--do check my pics! Made with quality ingredients! Service with a smile! Warm and convivial setting inside! WiFi! Good coffee! I highly recommend starting your day here--chow down, then, take a long hike into the Leavenworth wonderful wilderness. They serve dinner too and the menu looks great as well! 5 Star--way to knock out of the park Good Mood Food!

The ham croissant was delicious and my daughter lover her waffle. We were surprised at how good it was perfect way to start the day with food and coffee. The only down side is when I asked a question the barista got was a little snarky with me, other than that it was a great experience.

I was quite impressed with this place, actually. It was super cute and the staff was friendly. Our food was mostly delicious, though I nearly broke a tooth in a bone that was in the lamb gyros (and there was also quite a bit of gristle in there). Also the food took a little longer than we expected (~15 min), though it was very nicely laid out on the plate, with a lovely little side salad. Ordered the veggie quiche as well and it was yumsters. Would definitely come back, and hopefully there would be seats available outside :)

GOOD MOOD food?! HA! They should call themselves GRUMPY, GROUCHY food! I don't know what the problem was, but the woman who ran the register was totally NOT in a good mood & it showed. Totally unprofessional. When I asked questions about the ingredients in their food items she barked at me & only said "I think" to my question about no eggs. Totally not helpful to a customer trying to order vegan. Also, I was given an extremely dirty fork when I received my food & then struggled to find another clean fork to replace it. Totally not worth the $ to be treated like crap when I'm the customer.

My friend and I shared a salad combo and a lamb gyro. The lamb gyro with the added grilled veggies was delicious. The combo salad fell light and healthy after her the German sausages and pretzel I ate the night before!

Might be the best and healthiest I've eaten in 3 weeks.. Salmon pita sandwich is tasty and yummy!!! Would come back here for sure if in town.. Also has good gluten free items..

  • Evan S.

Decent food not worth the unprofessional service. You will like feel like a small piece of trash after ordering and interacting with the staff. Also noisy and dirty inside.

Coffee was okay, scone was amazing, burrito was good, croissant sandwich was good. It really tailors to climber, hippy culture.

Very homey atmosphere, and great food. We split a chicken gyro, and loved it. The salad that came with was also delicious. Imagine, a Starbucks, hippie style, with healthy tasty food.

Descriptive phrase: cute, homey breakfast. Good Mood Food gives off a friendly hippie/organic vibe without being pretentious. I swear that's supposed to be a compliment. It's a small space, and was completely full when we came for a late breakfast one Saturday. Service was friendly, and indeed many patrons seemed to be locals. My Breakfast Burrito (~$10) was delicious, and you could tell care had been taken in making it and sourcing its ingredients. The side salad it's served with was delectable as well. Good Mood Food's menu is pretty limited, but what they do they do right. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area for a quick brunch.

Not a huge menu, but fresh and wholesome in a laid back setting. The lamb gyro was great, more like a veggie wrap with slices of lamb rather than the usual greasy gut bomb. No tzatziki, but came with a side of mint sauce plus a fresh salad with unusual flavors and hearty veggies like beets. Gluten free cookie was delicious. I did not leave hungry. Would love to go back for breakfast, as I saw a yummy looking veggie quiche in the case and breakfast burritos and other egg goodies listed on the chalkboard. Seemed like the owners were running the show and were very friendly, joking around with their employee and a regular customer. Good Mood is a good find.

This place is very busy. You walk in and have no clue what to do. We sat and waited for service, asked for menu and then we are told its on the wall. Limited but delicious healthy food, salads, quiches, fruit drinks and coffees. I was very stressed as many were as clueless as me. No one greets you as you enter or explains the protocol. However, we figured it out, we ordered and we were very pleased with quality and quantity plus price. We will be back. They have limited hours and close at 4. They do not stick around to accommodate the many that come in after close sign goes up, except they offer drinks and coffee. They are closing kitchen and want to leave. It is worth the chaos and the people are very friendly, it's just different than I am accustomed to at restaurants. All that said, we will definitely be back!!

Yummy.... The coffee, the juices, the food!! We have frequented this place for a couple of years now... Thank god we found it... Cuz Starbucks is two thumbs down. I got the everything juice and it was so delish we came back two hours later for another. What's great about their food options is that they have gluten free food that is fresh and not in a package sitting in a fridge for five days. The kids love the food and the atmosphere is so relaxing and friendly. We will come back time and time again!!

    (5)
  • Melanie W.

Definitely good mood food. The healthiest grub in town. Everything is fresh and homemade. There are gluten-free options, smoothies, baked goods, pitas, soup, desserts, espresso drinks. I've never had a bad meal. Beyond the slightly pricey prices though, you'll pay with your time. Service is slooow. But hey, it's Leavenworth. Be on Leavenworth time and it's all good.

  • Skarlette S.

This place is fantastic!! Chill ambience, great fresh delicious food: a must for breakfast or lunch. The positive reviews are dead on! They have a limited menu but nail every item. The lamb gyro is phenomenal!! It's got all the flavors of a traditional gyro, but the flavor is elevated by all the right veggies packed in it. The everything juice is great (don't order if you aren't a ginger fan). The owner is really nice. Service was great! Prices are fantastic. Big portions. Yummmm!

  • Shellie K.

Leavenworth is not a very vegan friendly town unless.... Your at good mood food! They worked with me to figure out something that fit my dietary needs. I ended up with a delicious falafel and roasted veggie wrap and an almond milk latte. They have about four different options of non dairy milk and the coffee is delicious. I would definitely recommend this place they have amazing non vegan items as well including their excellent selection of quiche.

  • Genessa O.

Delicious, fresh, and affordable! We had the Belgian waffle with fruit and real maple syrup, breakfast burrito, and coffee cake. Everything was made with REAL ingredients and much better than anything I've had elsewhere in town for breakfast.

    (4)
  • K S.

We had the quiche and falafel wrap and everything juice. The food is real food and tasty. Also large portions. The restaurant is nothing fancy but great for grabbing lunch. Specifically the juice: it was good but we don't like ginger or celery. Next time we would leave those out. We would definitely eat here again.

  • Debby C.

I read about the good service but the lady at the counter was a grouch and it took a long time to get our 2 falafel orders. They were dry.

    (2)
  • Coby V.

Had the everything juice, the breakfast croissant, a bite of my friends Belgian waffle and a bite of my friends breakfast burrito. Everything was damn good. Fresh ingredients, well spiced, perfectly cooked, fast service, nice people, good mood.

    (5)
  • Kate G.

i just gotta say it- the lady at the counter taking orders seriously had one of the loudest voices i've ever heard outside of a crowded bar. also, the posted menu is super vauge. like: "falafel" .... ok.....what goes on your falafel? "quiche". um........with meat? what's in it besides egg? this combination inevitably lead to my husband and i essentially being shouted at trying to figure out what to order. and as we waited for our food (not a long wait at all considering it was busy!), we saw it happen with other people too. im sure it's annoying to have to say repeatedly what's in the quiche, or what's in the sandwich. so- just put it up on the board, guys! c'mon! but, it's fine- it was truly the best damn lunch i've had in a really, really, really, really long time. my husband has the same sentiments on his meal. the beet salad was impeccable, as was the little salad they served our wraps with, which was an awesome surprise because we...didn't...see...it on the..menu. I don't know when we'll make it back through Leavenworth, but we're happy for our full stomachs and the Seinfeld episode-esque experience.

Very good. Best place to go for a light breakfast after a night or two of schnitzel. I had the veggie quiche and the everything juice, it was all very delicious. I would highly recommend stopping here to anyone.

    (5)
  • Philip S.

Another good experience here. I still feel like it is best suited for a quick bite rather than a full meal. Good quality food and friendly service.

  • Jenny C.

My go-to spot for a healthy, fresh, and organic breakfast, lunch, or snack. Amazing juices, fresh pastries and of course coffee. I always order the lamb gyro for lunch. Owners are very nice, always great service.

    (5)
  • Mark C.

Small menu warranted four stars even though we tried all three items on the breakfast menu and they were all five star. The apple strudel and the mixed berry scones were five star as well. The moca was average.

    (4)
  • Livia T.

Amazing juices. Delicious salmon pita and side salad - mouth-watering wasabi dressing! I wish it wasn't as expensive, but all ingredients were fresh and delicious. Service with a smile, too. I will definitely be back! Only issues were that it was pricy, and not a community gathering place, which is what i was hoping for. Also we ordered too much food - some warning might have been nice.

  • Stefanie G.

The food and coffee were really good. But there's lots of coffee shops with great, made from scratch food that don't have the negative atmosphere this place does. The "good mood" in the name is hilarious. Even before we ordered, the woman behind the counter, who seemed to be the manager or owner, made it clear that she was not happy we were in there. I'm sorry I pissed you off so much by walking inside and wanting a coffee! What's going to happen to your "good mood" when I order food?! Then some guy came in to ask for a job, and when he left she started talking in a ridiculously loud voice to her coworkers (who did seem nice) about how much he sucked. We get it, you run things around here. Maybe he did suck, it doesn't matter- can't you go bitch about him in the back so the entire place doesn't have to hear your loud shit talking? We all left feeling not in a good mood- but luckily there's some mountains right outside the door to make you forget about such things.

Everything free prefect for poor kids elimination diet. Hope the taste is just as exciting. Looks good. Eating on patio with pup yummy pita wraps gluten free dairy free nut free egg free. Very good. Even if you don't do the free diet.

DELICIOUS FOOD. I have never had anything that wasn't scrumptious....and I have eaten here quite a few times now :)

  • Christine Y.

I can't believe there's a healthy foods/juice bar joint in Leavenworth! The fact that they exist and I didn't have to eat at another touristy German-themed restaurant made me happy. But then, they made the world's most delicious lamb gyro. Tender meat, loaded with mixed green veggies, AND roasted squash to boot. I gotta know where they get/how they make their tzaziki! It's a cute little place. Sunny bright vibe. Not so great for large parties dining in. But good for me. And my tummy.

    (5)
  • Gregorio A.

Friendly service and great food for a reasonable price. Also offers to-go for people who just want to go see the town.

We stopped in here on our way through town because we didn't really want to have the typical Bavarian food. The good: love that they serve Greek style food here, and they're really quick about getting your food out to you, and they serve your food "displayed" so the appearance is a pleasant surprise. The bathroom (yes, just 1 for the whole place) is kept really clean. The bad: good luck getting a table if they're even slightly busy. There's only 6 tables and 2 bistro level tables. And forget about bringing in a stroller larger than an umbrella stroller! Also, would have been nice to know what was in the gyro before I ordered it, besides the chalkboard sign of "lamb gyro". Was not expecting squash and zucchini in between the feta cheese, lamb, and tzatziki sauce, so it changed the expected flavor. Overall, I would totally come back, and try some of the other dishes available. Just maybe not right at lunchtime. Or with a large group. Of 4 or more. Maybe order takeout from here instead.

  • KellynZac H.

Loud funny atmosphere. Maybe geared for the younger/urban crowd. Nice break from the tourist trap Bavarian nature of Leavenworth. Great Food. Small menu, but diverse. Mix between a coffee shop, cafe, and sandwich shop. A little pricey. Definitely understaffed during the lunch rush.

  • David G.

Great coffee and amazing fresh food, with quality local ingredients. I tend to get the scones here while they are still warm from the oven but the quiche with salad is another favorite. A real community hub with a spacious patio. The best thing about Good Mood is that there is no drive through, so the foot customer is not left waiting while the staff keep the drive through line moving (which happens all the time at Starbucks). This is a great place to relax and ask the locals for tips and directions.

Well the name speaks for itself. You actually leave feeling in a good mood. If you've ever been to Leavenworth, you know that there are tons of brats, beer, pretzel, pastries, and everything that your personal trainer would hate. This place orders a good sized meal, at a fair price, that doesn't make you unbutton your belt buckle. I tried the gyro and it was awesome. The two things that are bad about this place is: Seating. Maybe it was because we sat next to 100 kids, or already it sounded like it, or the fact that we had to sit on the kids table. I was a little pissed off when a couple too I've of the biggest tables they had...but there wasn't nothing left. The food took a while to come. My friends placed their order after mine and while I got my food quickly, it took twice as long to make my friends food.

The Kale Smoothie was fabulous - I felt myself getting healthier as I drank it. The cabbage slaw had very light dressing and was delicious. The quinoa salad was out if this world. And I saved the best for last: the salmon gyro was really fresh with lots of veggies and a light cucumber sauce. Really delicious really healthy - made me very happy!

  • Peter S.

Pros: Quality of food (quiche, pasta salad, and lamb gyro) was excellent. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful and the colors were noticeably bright. Cons: Place is much too small for as many customers that walk through that place, not enough seats. Had to sit at the kiddie table, lost feeling in my legs mid-meal. Took half an hour to get our food and that's no bueno for a starving man like myself

Should have named it great mood food :) The fresh juice is really amazing. The salmon wrap was to die for.

Good Mood is all about healthy and fresh ingredients. So, if your tummy is upset from all that sauerkraut and brat, visit Good Mood for something fresh and delicious! The menu is subject to change, but they've always got delicious pita/wraps. I ordered the chicken pita. It was filled with fresh cut veggies, lightly dressed chicken and a pita that was warm and not crunchy. A small salad was on the side. Perfect for a hot afternoon in Leavenworth before heading to the river. My friend ordered the lamb gyro and she loved it. I can't recall exact prices, but I believe it was about $8-10 for the wraps. Other items that looked delicious were their breakfast croissant sandwiches, scones, homemade quiches, and freshly squeezed juices. Definitely a go-to spot for me! Try it!

This place was great! I've stopped in Leavenworth a few times for good, I will have to say I was not disappointed when I stopped into this place. The breakfast was amazing and healthy. I got the egg and ham croissant. It came with a small falafel salad on the side. I'll go here again!

Excellent food. Worth the wait. I recommend the croissant breakfast sandwich.

  • Rebekah M.

I came in after having a horrible experience at several other leavenworth restaurants with absolutely nothing to eat. Good mood food has a really inspired menu for the area and delicious food. I ordered the falafal pita and it came filled not just with falafal but stuffed with lots of other vegetables as well. It also came with a delicious salad and the chai was a delightful finish to my meal. Thanks good mood food for feeding those of us who can't have the traditional meat heavy menu that is so popular in the area.

Sounds like a great menu.. would have loved to eat here but they were closed on Christmas Day. Now how does that make any sense? Only two restaurants in all of Leavenworth were open Christmas Day at 7pm. Go figure. We had to drive back to Monroe to get eats.... next year, we'll head to Cashmere instead.

  • Cyndi C.

Good Mood Food is the only place I go in Leavenworth for delicious coffee, healthy colorful breakfasts and don't miss their "everything" juice, a blend kale, beets, ginger, ect. It has healing powers! It truly is good mood food.

    (5)
  • Andrew S.

Damned tasty! Breakfast Burrito is perfect, folks are friendly, and the coffee good. Good Mood indeed!

    (5)
  • Art G.

Quite a bit different than the Bavarian/Austrian/German style food that is everywhere in Leavenworth. It's a small coffee shop that has some offerings that are organic and vegetarian. The menu is small, either pita or wrap, with five different fillin

    (3)
  • Michael P.

Awesome place! They know how to make a proper long black and extremely friendly staff.

    (5)
  • Chelsy C.

The breakfast here is awesome! I had a breakfast burrito that was shockingly good, it had some very non-traditional Mexican/Southwest ingredients, but really worked well together. I'm talking about broccoli and squash and olives. I was totally surprised, but the flavor was great. Even a breakfast dish will come with a small salad on the side with an amazing drizzle of beet dressing. They make a mean Americano as well.

  • Tim T.

I don't want to write a good review because when I come in I always want what I want when I want it (hint: now) so I can get going up the hill to Stevens. Really good breakfast grub and coffee. Dining in is also cool.

If you want some delicious, healthy, full of flavor meal in Leavensworth, you come here. It all looks so good and sounds great. Guess what though? It tastes even better! I ordered the salmon wrap. It was amazing. The salmon was super fresh. The wrap was full of crisp veggies topped with this sauce that had a kick. It was a perfect meal to enjoy in a great atmosphere.

  • John K.

The best quiche and salad I have ever tasted. I can taste the fresh ingredients and the laid back atmosphere makes it worth another 3 hour trip here for breakfast.

  • Nikolas C.

I love this place whenever I am doing work in Wenatchee or Leavenworth. I come for breakfast, coffee and WiFi. This is a few blocks away from the Leavenworth tourist core, but it still enjoys a loyal following. The service is somewhat curt (probably because of thier impatience with Seattle-based tourists who are looking for the Starbucks impersonal speed). My favorites: strudel with a beautiful creme, ham croissant served with a side salad. Healthy, fresh.

    (5)
  • Nichole S.

Awful. The service was unfriendly, the food is extremely overrated. My pita on my falafel wrap was so dry it hurt to chew it. The falafel was soggy. Falafel should be crispy on the outside. This was not. The sauce delivery was weird. It was just spread out on the plate and soaked the second half of my sandwich. The raspberry vinegarette on the salad was really good and the vegetables were nice. Also, it was super expensive. I feel like it was a super rip off. $30 for two terrible wraps with a handful of a side salad and a mocha. No way.

  • Theresa G.

Super Good food, but there is a sign posted about no bare hand touching of ready to eat food and I watched a worker plate salad greens bare handed. Yikes. Still gets a good rating because the food is great. My veggie quiche was delish, and hubby's turkey pita was good, too.

    (4)
  • Jeremy C.

I watched a man behind the counter flip a quiche onto a plate; I had never admired a quiche before. He noticeably loved his craft and while not hungry, I really wanted a piece of this quiche for myself. In the end, I made a mistake and passed it over but I did convince my roommate to buy a piece. He later said that he had never purchased quiche as good as his girlfriend's until that moment. While he felt initially that it was a bit overpriced, he was completely satisfied with his purchase at the first bite. It's really great to find new places at the intersection of talent and love.

  • MariaElaina M.

My only complaint is that wait times are long, and you can see confusion and inefficiencies happening when things get really busy. That said, I ate here 3 times and stopped for coffee a 4th during a long weekend stay. That should give you a good idea of just how much I liked it. :). Great little atmosphere, and the food is really, really tasty. Best vegetable quiche I've ever had. The wait time worked just fine for me, since I was on vacation and in no rush. I can see it being a deal breaker for some, though.

Really really good food! Fresh and organic. We got the gluten-free salmon wraps and berry smoothies. Totally worth the price.

Short and Sweet Review: Amazing! Get the ham/cheese/egg croissant! Good atmosphere and wonderful staff.... oddly the music selection is quirky and fun too :) Full Review: This is the only coffee shop I've been to where the owners/chefs were trained in Germany and Belgium respectively. My wife and I found this place over a year ago when it was called the Red Bird Cafe. Honestly we had no intention of eating there... we needed to use the restroom after a 3 hour road trip from Olympia and it was the first place we found with a bathroom. Out of pure guilt we ordered something because we didn't want to be "those people" to use the bathroom and run. Our quick pit stop turned into 2 hours of culinary bliss. We ordered Batdorf and Bronson Sky Mountain Americano's and THE BEST HAM/CHEESE/EGG CROISSANT on God's green earth! We came during a slow time for the little cafe and the owners sat down and chatted with us! It is incredible! We loved it so much we ordered another one. Then we had to try their quiche... which was WONDERFUL! Then a fresh strawberry scone. 10,000 calories later we waddled to the car. We cried out of pure joy, and vowed to return every year... and we have. A very Euro feel with good coffee and great food. YOU MUST GO THERE if you are in Leavenworth. The croissant is toasted by Jesus himself probably... I have no idea how they get it so golden and flaky... I cannot reproduce it at home and believe me I've tried. The ham/cheese/egg filling is perfectly fluffy and infused with hints of rosemary and black pepper. The little side salad has a citrus vinaigrette and is delightful as well. The quiche was excellent with a homemade crust... it was tall and huge and plenty enough for two to share. It had fresh veggies and was seasoned just right. The scone was... well just a good scone :) Highly recommend! It is one of those places we pray will always be around :) It not only has great food, but for us Good Mood Food is now attached to many great memories.

Cafe menu has wraps and pitas, cold salads (pasta, quinoa etc) and baked goods. Breakfast food served until 11am. Gluten free wraps available and VERY GOOD. Serves fresh juice, espresso, beer and wine. Food is very flavorful. Highly recommend.

  • Chad G.

My wife and I really enjoyed this place. It was a little tricky to find since the name "Good Mood Food" is not prominately displayed on the sign. Keep looking thought because they're worth it. I got the falafel and my wife got the veggie quiche. It advertises vegetarian, but don't let that scare you off, they offered lamb and turkey wraps too. Seating was limited, but it wasn't crowded. Well worth it. You can also see some pretty interesting folks if you're into people watching. This place attracts a hippie element. Why do hippies refuse to brush their hair? Weird. Regardless, we very much enjoyed ourselves.

Awesome!! This is the best food in Leavenworth. Its healthy, fresh, and really tasty! No grease. Good prices. Casual environment. Love it!!

This place is awesome. While the wait can be a bit long, both the coffee and breakfast here are absolutely stellar. Lovely wait staff. If you're a coffee connoisseur at all, get the Americano here.

Best food and customer service experience we've had during our first trip to Leavenworth, WA!! Besides their great coffee, there are plenty of tasty selections on the menu. Ordered the seared tuna salad and belgian waffles and it was OUTSTANDING! Everything is made fresh and the people here are just too nice!!

I've been to Leavenworth for times and I've got to say this is the worst restaurant in town. Here's why: _Food is mediocre. For 10 bucks you'd expect more from a lamb or salmon pita, which are advertised as their specials. My family and I finished our meal not knowing what was special about what we ate, and why we had to pay $60 for 4 adults and 1 child. _If you're a fan of flies (that's right, those little insects) then this restaurant is for you. They landed on the pastries the staff happened to just put there uncovered. They landed on our dishes of pitas, salad, and quiches. And people who worked there didn't show any concern or attempt to stop this from happening. _Now I don't give much damn about food handling codes, but using bare hands to stuff the pitas and grabbing them from the oven to the dishes was not what I was looking for. Not sure if it added flavor to my lamb gyro, though. At least they didn't try to conceal the fact in the kitchen. Yay to no gloves! I gave 1 star for the place because of the casual "sup yo?" coolness of the owner, and for the experience thanks to which I know better as not to go here again.

  • Andrew S.

If you're not a laid back hippie, you might complain about the slow service. But the food is so good that we come back here every time we're in Leavenworth. Great veggie options (they serve meat too), and awesome not-too-sweet pastries. Coffee is nothing to complain about either.

  • Kristen D.

Good mood food is very good. We love the scones and coffee. I haven't really tried anything else, but always stop for my scone when in town. Lately I noticed the kitchen isn't as clean as it should be and the guy in the back with the longer hair didn't have it tied back. Nadine the owner is great and always happy!

Six of us went there for lunch. Food was fresh and healthy. Kids had the veggie and bean soup -- it was WAY too spicy hot. My kids are used to spicy food, so I tried it and it was too hot for me too. They gave us some yogurt to tame it down and that helped. Had the salad combo - the quinoa salad was exceptionally delicious. We also had the quiche which was spectacular. The falafels were also a little spicy. Overall, good, healthy food.

Exceptional wraps with perfect salmon, tasty lamb and their veggies are cooked just right Cappuccino was also very good - 4 stars on that but 5+ stars on everything else.

  • Monica A.

The food was great, but there were flies *everywhere* inside. Everything from fruit flies on up to the big ol' hairy-legged kind. We seemed to be the only ones concerned about it since both doors were wide open. The only reason I actually ordered food was because it came out of the case, and that was blessedly free of the little buggers. Not sure I would eat there again even though it was really tasty veggie food. Not unless they get some screen doors.

Echoing Jim's review, a gem. Went there for lunch and had the lamb gyro, chicken pita and quiche (shared between 2 adults and 2 children). Good Mood Food is a family-run "natural kitchen", which means that all their stuff is fresh and prepared on the premises. As a result, the menu is small but what we tried was good. The quiche was a particular standout. You order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. There are maybe 6 tables and a small children's table in the corner with books and puzzles. There's also a small area with bar seating. At busy times, I would expect there to be a long wait. Service was not particularly quick or organized, but the quality of the output - especially compared to our other Leavenworth eating experience - was worth it. The coffee drinks are also good.

High points: Food: Really tasty and fresh (like, growing-behind-restaurant fresh) local ingredients Atmosphere: bright airy & friendly. They also local artisans which is a big bonus with me. Price: South of the border wrap (fresh veggies, no cheese on a gluten free wrap=delicioso) with quinoa salad and side salad for $6! Low Points Coffee: acceptable quality but coffee isn't really the star of this show which is unfortunate BUT they serve toddy (cold brew) which very nearly redeems the whole thing. Staff: They were a little stressed during the rushes, but still very friendly

This was a great find. There is limited seating, but it is perfect for a small group. The food is fantastic and fresh. The lattes are perfect. The juice was so good! We went with our toddler and there was a little kids table with some toys and books. We will definitely be back!

So impressed! Pleasantly surprised to find amazing coffee and beautiful, fresh food in Leavenworth. We stopped here for coffee the other morning... between the 4 of us, we had drip coffee, a mocha, and egg nog lattes. This is the best egg nog latte I've had. The drip was smooth and medium, without any bitterness. The shop itself was a great atmosphere. Clean, not too loud, and kid friendly (books and toys in one corner). The food was beautiful and fresh looking. Everything was obviously made in-house. My sister, brother and brother's girlfriend went back for lunch that day. They said the food was as good as it looked! This will be my main food stop when visiting Leavenworth!

Good Mood Food is hot. It should be on the Leavenworth Map, (because they are a touch away from the charming Bavarian congestion inbetween hotels, motels and inns). They serve coffee stuff, breakfast, brunch, lunch foods and small gifts. The menu is small, but it includes gluten-free and macrobiotic foods. Their overall style comes off as eclectic.

We frequently go to Leavenworth and this is one of our favorite spots to hit for breakfast and lunch. My wife absolutely loves their vegetarian quiches. They seem to make them a little different each time depending on what is fresh. I've had a number of items including a Mexican-style breakfast burrito and they've all been excellent. Their baked items (we've had the scones and cookies) are all wonderful. All the dishes are very attractive in appearance. The coffee there is particularly excellent. It's a small place and typically filled with what appears to be primarily locals. Now, if they would only start serving dinner....

Yum! So good. Always fresh, they use local, in season ingredients whenever possible. A nice oasis from the heavy and greasy foods found elsewhere in town.

I have to give a somewhat iffy review because: THE SERVICE IS TOO SLOW! I love the food here, but the management isn't up to speed with the popularity of this place. It seems like there is no multitasking happening at all. I waited 35 minutes for a Pita Wrap to be made! I was in line for 10 minute, and finally ordered at 1:24. I received my wrap at 2:00pm! That's just plain unacceptable in any dining atmosphere, and worse in a coffee shop, lunch stop type of atmosphere. I asked about what the LONG delay was all about and the chef/waiter said, "we only have two burners and its really busy!" I saw another review on here that mentioned how the staff gets stressed when it gets busy. WELL??? SO REVAMP THE ORGANIZATION!!!! I'm writing this so the management wakes up. This is good food. But there is a lot that can be improved without much change. Get a bigger stove. Even my home stove has four burners!!! So is that just a lame excuse or is there really only two burners back there. And here's another tip: try multitasking! It really appears as though the staff completely finishes one order before even starting another. Wake up call: I hope you realize that cooks in other food establishments cook multiple orders together!!!??? Plus, what's up with the 4pm closing hour? That's just silly. For such a popular place with such fresh and tasty meals and drinks... why do you close so early? Its not Italy!!!!

I really wish i didn't wait till the last minute of my trip to eat here. The service was so friendly and helpful. Space is a little small but there was a play area for the kids, which is so helpful when you are trying to order. The coffee was perfect and kids got a carrot juice that was just amazing and fresh. They have great zucchini bread and i got an extra one for the road. Sad when i ate it I couldn't come back for more. If this place was in Seattle i would probably eat there everyday. Lots of good natural whole food choices that smelt great when i walked in. Next time in town it will definitely will be my first stop.

First off, I would not consider this to be a two-dollar-sign place! My girlfriend and I both had a very healthy-sized lunch + banana bread and two coffees for just around $20. I had a falafel while she had the yogurt cup and a cup of the soup-of-the-day. It is your typical cafe bistro; if you just want coffee, they'lll hook you up, but if you're hungry, you'll get fresh made food whipped up in just a few minutes. The staff are polite, smiling, and are very engaged in making small conversation with customers. The man who made our lunch of brought it to us was very curious about our trip and seemed genuinely excited for the view we would see on the return train to Seattle. The service here was probably the best we experienced while in Leavenworth. Even after our trip, we both talk about the food. It seems quite healthy as well as tasty. Even the side salads that come with lunch have a unique twist: some quinoa and lentils. These small little touches give Good Mood Food a unique atmosphere. Both of us have already recommended it to friends and family, which is something neither of us do very often. The only thing that struck me as off was the fact that the music played here was dubstep. In a fake German town in the middle of the Cascades in Washington, the last thing I expect to find is a wonderful little bistro which a diverse menu where the ambience is set up with one of the most irritating forms of electronica music out there. Still, it gave me a chuckle and I would come here again in a heartbeat

Great food, the fruit Juices are somewhat pricey. For instance, a glas of carrot juice was 6.50. They should also try to clear the juice blender more often otherwise there is somewhat a taste of mixture rather than a pure juice.

Super friendly staff and awesome hot chocolate. The waffle was tasty too. The only down side is they can only make one waffle at a time, so we couldnt really eat together.

All the offerings of a neighborhood cafe with food created by a guy who loves what he does. A rare gem of professional cuisine, genuinely friendly service, and darn good vibes! Try this place for breakfast in your way out of town and you'll sit with a perfectly full belly all the way home.

Went here right before closing on a Saturday afternoon in June 2012. Ordered the falafel and salmon pita, plus the homemade quiche. I liked the taste of everything! The yogurt herb sauce for the salmon and falafel was great. I really liked the taste and ingredients of the quiche. My wife didn't care for it as much. I think she prefers more egg and cheese. The side salad also really fresh. Of all the places I've eaten in Leavenworth, I rank this up there with South and Pavz. I will go back when I'm in Leavenworth!

It's amazing to go to a Bavarian town on vacation and STILL find good coffee. I have visited this place every morning on my last two trips to Leavenworth. The wait for your order after it has been placed is now comical. I know to expect it but when I get my coffee and pastry it is worth the wait. Banana/ chocolate scone... holy wienerschnitzel! Toddy (cold brew) with the slightest hint of ginger and cardamom- sooo good. Patio in the am sun. Great way to start the day before hitting the river!! Gonna try the juice next time.

The best place for breakfast and lunch in Leavenworth. They use local, fresh ingredients. the atmosphere is artsy and a little european. they sell art and jewelry by local artist. The coffee is phenomenal, the food is better. The breakfast croissant has scrambled eggs full of veggies and bits of ham and cheese. All soups are great! They make their own chai, its real and spicy and wonderful just like everything else they serve.

This is the best food in Leavenworth, hands down. No one else puts as much love into every single dish, and uses such great ingredients. Awesome gyros, great quinoa salads, awesome coffee, great deals on breakfast. Don't mess with the tourist nonsense, this is THE place to eat breakfast or lunch.

A gem of a discovery outside the downtown craziness. Great stop for lunch and espresso. They also make their own fresh juice mixes. Highly recommend the lamb gyro. Yes, they have vegetarian options, but I have to tell you the gyro was pretty amazing. Spread the word!

Local produce + creativity + a lot of love x 2 European Culinary Institute Graduates 4 prices everyone can afford = Good Mood Foods (formally the Red Bird). Kurt and Nadine have years of experience in some of the finest restaurants in Washington, the Caribbean, and Europe. Her specialty is fabulous baked goods like croissants, scones and her native Belgian Waffles. Kurt is all about fresh, healthy, creative entrees. His signature South of the Border breakfast burrito is the best north of the border anywhere! Add a hand crafted delicious smoothie or a huge cup of Batdorf & Bronson coffee and you won't go wrong! Eat where the locals eat. Oh and they have free WiFI! On Highway 2 at the corner of Ski Hill drive.

My family is a fan, like most other reviewers. We loved Chef Kurt's "real" chai (although we disagree with their theory that the original masala chai had no black tea in it). The falafel wrap/pita is delicious, the choices are healthy, and the staff is very friendly. They're a bit slow, but worth it, and you can look for mushrooms in the new-age art on the walls while you wait. Wonderful alternative to the not-so-healthy German and Mexican standbys in Leavenworth.

EXCELLENT cafe and coffee shop. Visiting for the weekend from Seattle and a local referred us here for its fresh, high quality natural ingredients. The veggie miso soup was unbelievable and the house made salad dressing was delicious. I had the Belgian waffle with whipped cream and fresh fruit and we both agreed it was the best waffle we've ever had. We're total foodies and this place exceeded our standards.

What a great place! We got lattes and shared a breakfast burrito. Amazing food, there was fresh local veggies in it. Our lattes had fun coffee art with the foam. Super nice staff also!!
