Came out originally to listen to a friend's band and fell in love with this place. I usually order the same thing everytime so I can't really critique the other entrees on the menu. I order what I like and they make it the way I like it...nuff said. Live music at least one night a week, usually two. Can't go wrong there. A lot of the negative reviews are from quite awhile back, so I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Trattoria Amante used the negative feedback as a learning experience and have changed a lot of things around. I'll go back anytime, and I routinely invite friends to catch the live shows.

Terrible mushy 'Italian food.' Plus they can't d cide what they serve. They also have seafood and Greek. I'm sure all are equally terrible.

I hate it when everyone is right about a place. Started with a to-go order at their website, which I got email confirmation for but they hadn't seen 20 minutes later when I arrived for pickup. They were quite kind about it and rushed the order through. I took in the place while waiting. A nice enough spot but service was disjointed in general. I got home with the food eager to dig in. For my entree the chicken was overcooked, the sauce pedestrian, and lacking the side salad. The entree salad ordered was lacking toppings listed on the menu and we found the blue cheese dressing oddly sweet. I really wish it was better because I like the menu, just not the reality.

We used to love this place before they moved to the new location. Unfortunately the new place isn't just slightly worse, its a downright disaster. I will admit this is my first review on yelp - frankly before tonight I've never felt truely compelled to take the time. Kudos to Amante for that I suppose. Let's start with the food. Amante's food has never been top notch but its always been one of our favorite places. Before they moved the atmosphere was that of a delivery place that also had a too-frequently overlooked dine-in experience. The pasta dishes were good, homey and hot. The staff was friendly, recognized us and made some great wine recommendations. Because it was slightly off the beaten path it was always easy to park and quiet (although never empty). When they moved locations we were thrilled that one of our favorite places was moving to front street and getting a makeover. We had high hopes that the new Amante would be even better. Too bad we were wrong. We've tried the new location twice now and I can say with absolute certainty we will never go back. In the interests of complete transparency ill admit now that my hope is that after hearing about our final experience you'll make a different choice when deciding where to go for dinner. Food was frozen, never was cold in the old location. Waitress was completely inattentive, service was slow. After we had finished the waitress came to clear the plates. When she turned around she knocked the candle off the neighboring table. It hit the ground spraying hot wax all over my girlfriends pants and face. Manager didn't care Waitress didn't notice Meal eventually comped Manager wouldn't even walk over.

Worst pizza I ever had. Their cheese bread was even more disgusting, it was just plain pizza with no sauce. I will never eat at this chain again.

An hour and a half wait for bad food. The pita on my gyro was so old and baked it was more like a rock. I couldn't even chew it. The fries were wet. Come on guys...what happened?

The coconut shrimp at Trattoria Amante is the stuff dreams are made of! Pillowy soft jumbo shrimp cooked to perfection, rolled in coconut and batter- OMGosh! So incredibly good! Dip it in the tangy pineapple sauce - hmmm, hmmm, hmmm! If you can get passed the delectable coconut shrimp - this place has a whole lot more to offer! Low carb, no carb, vegetarian or carnivore - Trattoria Amante has something for everyone! Great place for parties and family dinners! The dining room is big and can accommodate large private parties and events as well. The staff are friendly, knowledgable about the menu and fast! Other favorite dishes: Chicken Parmesan, spaghetti with meat sauce, Eggplant Parmesan and their grinder sandwiches. Happy hour prices in the bar all day on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Great place for date night with live music on the weekends.

We have ordered delivery from this place once. I got the eggplant Parmesan and my husband got spaghetti and meatballs. They took a pretty long time to get to us (even though they are right down the street), but the delivery guy was very friendly and polite. However, when we opened the food I realized that they had given me their special 'low-carb' eggplant Parmesan, which is just eggplant in sauce and cheese, with no noodles. When we called to tell them, the guy did not believe us. He kept telling us over and over to look under the eggplant and that we would find a bed of noodles. This was a shallow container and we could easily see the bottom of it. He finally said he would send us another one, but it was pretty obvious he did not believe us. This was pretty irritating because we had waited a really long time and were starving. When the delivery guy came back, he apologized and said I could keep both dishes. I wanted to show him the first one just so he could tell the guys we talked to on the phone that we weren't crazy, but he wouldn't look at it. Either way we did get a fee dish out of it. The food was not bad but not impressive either, and definitely not worth that whole ordeal. The final thing I noticed was that they included an invoice with out order that had my full name, address, phone number, and all of my credit card info (none of the cc number was concealed). This made me uneasy as usually business do not print out all of that private info on a receipt or invoice, and made me wonder how careful they are with my information.

Worst restaurant I have ever been to! While their food is average and their prices are okay... The customer service is horrible! Spoke with the manager and with one of the owners... Neither took any responsibility to make it "right". It is truly sad that an establishment like this exists in such a small and quaint town as Issaquah. The nicest thing I can say about this restaurant is to stay away! If you can't take care of your customers what have you got?

Live music. I have only had drinks here. Very quiet for a Friday night. I know people who love their pizza. They do deliver around Issaquah. Their menu is enormous. Nice staff. $15 for a glass of wine.

The pizza is atrocious. I'm a pizza junkie--in a pinch, I'll even eat Domino's or DiGiorno; hey, any port in a storm--but I could not endure what we ordered last night. Specifically the sauce is pretty gross (salty, paste-y, with zero flavor) and the toppings were...weird. I ordered pepperoni and Canadian bacon, and the CB was sliced so thick it reminded me of a ham steak. Even based on that description you might think it was OK, but it was just wrong. It was like having slabs of spam draped over a unappetizing layer of brownish-red sludge-sauce. Overall, not at all the kind of experience I want when biting into a slice, and like I said, I'm really not even very picky. That was delivery. I'll probably try their dining room sometime, based on a few of the reviews I've read here, just to see if it was a fluke. I wish they were open for lunch--the sign on their door says they are, but clearly they're an evenings-only venue. But I'm never again ordering the pizza, and based on the difficulty involved with screwing up pizza, I'm not encouraged that their other fare will actually be any better.

I want to give 2 reviews, 1 for Grub Hub and one for this restaurant! 5 STARS TO GRUB HUB!!! coolest app ever!!! It was so easy and fast and the app said my order would would be at my door at 7:55pm. 7:55PM ON THE DOT MY DOOR RANG!! Love it love it! Now to the food, which is the 1 rating. I was really surprised about how awful the food was here, considering I pass it at least once a day and especially on a Friday or Saturday night, the place is packed. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with a side salad and some cheesy bread. When I got my dinner I opened it up, portions are huge!!! I took one bite of the fettuccine and immediately was sorry I did. BLAND...absoultey no flavor. I went and grabbed the salt and salted my food. Every bite I needed to salt it...AND I DON'T LIKE SALT! Finally I realized that no amount of salt was going to fix this pasta and it went in the trash. The cheesy bread wasn't' good at. Mozzarella cheese which was fine...but it also tasted like their was that bland Alfredo sauce on the bread as well, tried dipping it in the marinara sauce that it comes with, tasted like Chef Boyarde..........YUCK.....in the trash that went Side salad was good, but that was literally probably $4 of the meal. I spent $30 with tax and tip and ended up eating $4 of it. They really need to hire an amazing Italian chef to spruce this place up, or it's gonna go down fast..........at this point, will not be back

This is the worst pizza. Terrible service, unbearably loud music and horribly rude manager. Plus they charged us twice on purpose! We will never go back!

Wouldn't know and probably will never. Their door post Sunday opening time at 11:00 am and their web site is 12 noon with all day happy hour in the bar on Sunday. Went down a couple of months ago at noon for a glass of wine and some happy hour snacks and there was a sign posted on the door that they were not open on Sundays any more. Went there again today at high noon for the same and there was another sign that said they did not open until 1:00. The first time sent a message to their contact info site suggesting that it would be nice if their web site contained the correct hours of operation but apparently no one on their staff can read &%$*#@! English. Don't waste your gas on this place there are many others that run a tighter ship and question if the food would look anything like the website. PS know this will never make it to their web site as only five star reviews seem to make it there but it will to open table and every other place that we can think of.

4 star pizza, 3 star pasta, below zero star customer service. If you want to enjoy the food at all you have to go there and not order delivery. But to do that you have to endure the service. And if you don't like the service the owner/manager will gladly tell you where you can stuff it while she's sitting at the bar with her feet on another barstool. If you order online it will be at least an hour before it arrives and then the food has sat around too long. There are other places. I will go to them instead.

Very rude service, bad quality food. Overpriced!! My wife's salmon tasted weird & when we asked the manager just to make sure they know about it, they blamed her taste buds. No apologies, No offer to even replace her dish. For a $25-30 entree that smelled and tasted bad this was criminal. Avoid at all cost.

Don't bother with this ZERO STAR place. We walk in promptly for out 6:45 reservation. There's a band setting up and the place is half full. NOBODY greets us at the door for what felt like 5 minutes. When we do get seated nearly 10 minutes go by before the waitress finally comes by and asks us if we'd like to order some drinks. We order a coke and an iced tea, Calamari as an appetizer and Spaghetti Bolognese for me and Fettuccini Carbonara for my Wife. The meals come with a side salad and NO, you cannot substitute a greek salad for the side salad. Of course. What idiot would want to do that? Anyway... Side salads come. We ordered Caesar salads. What a joke. Just some romaine with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese, a few croutons and some caesar dressing drizzled on. What does it take to TOSS the salad in the dressing before putting it on the plate? 10 minutes after the salad... The Calamari are greasy and chewy and wasn't served with a lemon wedge. Had to go to the bar for a wedge of lemon. Marinara sauce for dipping was straight out of a bottle or can. 30 minutes after the Calamari... My Bolognese was HORRIBLE. Very little meat and a tomato sauce that tasted like a tin can. Totally BLAND. My Wife's Carbonara was just passable. Hell, it DOES have BACON in it after all. Worst meal in a very long time. We should have left right after the salads. Never going back to this dump.

Although we waited for almost 90 minutes for our food, it was somewhat worth it. The pizza was delicious! I had the bbq chicken and hubby had the captains pizza. Really, really good pizza. You can definitely tell the difference between this pizza and the chain stores. It was made with love. A little on the pricey side but a nice change. Next time we feel like blowing a wad on pizza, we will be back! Total for (2) pizzas, breadsticks and dessert was $75 including tip and we waited 90 minutes.

Terrible. Walked in to grab a couple drinks at the bar before dinner at a nearby restaurant and they wanted to charge me like $10 because a band was playing. It was like pulling teeth to get a quick drink and stay 15 minutes and not have to pay the fee. I understand people could abuse that, but I wasn't there for the band. Been here for food before and it's decent, but the staff needs to learn better customer service and use judgement and not make you feel bad for giving them business!

If you're a vegetarian and you're wanting a great pizza try their Gorgonzola Guru!!! The white sauce pastas are a bit bland, the servings are huge and the delivery is insanely fast! The food is always fresh. Also, they have great Tiramisu. This should be a given at an Italian restaurant but in my experience is not. The Tiramisu portions could be bigger but other than that, very nicely balanced taste.

We have a favorite band we really like to go out and see, they told us about their gig at this restaurant and I was excited to get down to Issaquah and try something new. I did look at the Yelp reviews and I was prepared, but I really hoped they were just a tiny bit wrong. :-( The food tasted like out of a can/freezer/pre-made, there was nothing fresh about it at all besides the fact that someone has to reheat it. The Tortellini were store bought, cooked and topped with a generic sauce I can buy by the can for $2 at any grocery store. Even their Italian dressing tasted like right out of a cheap bottle from Safeway. I was super disappointed, Italian food is mostly easy to prepare... sauces can be made in the afternoon for the dinner service and pasta is not really hard to cook. I don't understand why this place has to resort to everything out of a can? Is there anyone in the kitchen that can cook? (I don't mean reheat!) Even though I love the band, I still won't be going back down again. This is not worth the money. Really a shame, cause the location is great and the live music is a cool idea and would be worthwhile going more often if the food is up to par.

I came to watch a friend perform on a Tuesday night. I arrived about 20 minutes before the show and joined a table of 10 to watch my friend sing. Not once was I offered water, a menu, or any appetizer/bread options as the rest of the table had already ordered before I arrived. I even sat down at the same time the waiter was taking orders, so he could have easily noticed my arrival. I went to the bar to order my own drinks and eventually flagged down a waiter for a refill, but otherwise they must have assumed I wasn't there for food/drinks. The band and live music however, is awesome. Go see Just One Look when they are scheduled!

Early thursday evening. Quick attentive service. Very good cobb salad. We will definitely return. Not music fans we'll pass on the music evenings. It's spare in furnishings, but not loud. Easy to get to, on Front north of Fishers meats, across from the older Village Theater.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. I honestly feel violated, the food was so poor quality I would been better off wasting my money and throwing it in the trash. It was foul tasting, meatballs were clearly frozen and reheated in the fryer, marinera tasted like chef boyardee, way to sweet without any real flavor and the garlic bread was so bland and gross, i didn't know you could mess up garlic bread. Oh and not to mention the blue cheese dressing on my salad, it was artifically thickened and the texture and taste of snot. All of this and they ripped me of for $15, on a plate of mass produced garbage that couldn't of cost more than a dollar. I do not right bad reviews unless i feel like the was an injustuce committed, and this place sure did just that. What ever you do, do not patron this place, they are con-artists and thieves!

Slow service, mediocre food, overall underwhelmed. I've been here twice, but this time has prompted my review. When we came in for dinner, there were maybe half a dozen tables. The restaurant quickly filled after we sat down and ordered, and the one server was quickly overwhelmed. I'm willing to give the one server the benefit of the doubt, but what really bothered me is that it took 20 minutes to get our check after we asked for it. I'm not a server, and I understand he was overwhelmed, but that's kind of the clincher right there. Slow service aside, the longer I have to wait for the check after asking for it, the more I start deducting from your tip.

We decided to give Amante a try as we had never dined with them before. We ordered a pizza and breadsticks online for home delivery. The order took an hour and a half to arrive and we had to call twice to find out what the delay was (no helpful response other than a curt "it's on it's way" and a rapid hang-up). The order was lukewarm by the time it arrived, the breadsticks were stiff and overcooked and the pizza wasn't any better than your average large chain. If I were you, I'd give this one a miss.

Eh, I've had better. We went last night for my daughter's pre-birthday dinner. The best part of our night was the band, who even sang happy birthday to her! My daughter had fettuccine alfredo which was about the quality of the lean cuisine version. My sister had tiger prawn fettuccine which had good flavor but was missing the fettuccine noodles. Instead it was served with what appeared to be cut up lasagna noodles and looked like a big pile of mush. Flavor was ok, prawns were good but overall disappointing. I had the penne alla vodka. Sauce was great, pancetta flavor was excellent but was served with overcooked bloated penne noodles, not the al dente small penne noodles I was expecting. The cheese bread was excellent, so glad we ordered this so we had something good to eat. Our waiter was great, very friendly. I was a little sad that they didn't bring out a birthday dessert, but at least we had the band acknowledgment. We're going for round 2 birthday dinner tonight somewhere else to try and make up for this disappointing experience.

Came here with a Living Social deal that would only allow us to get pasta, my wife had the egg plant parmesan and I had the Putanessca. Both were okay, my wife complained that hers didn't have enough sauce, when I tried hers it seemed like it lacked spices and tasted too plain. Mine though was good but wish I would've got their gorgonzola cheese sauce on fettuccine. I'm going to give this place one more try, their pizza looks great, I'm looking forward to trying their pizza. If it is that good I will revise this to 5 stars, if it isn't, then I'll be giving it a 2. Service was okay, they didn't come by and ask if I needed another beer, it took them awhile to bring boxes, also it wasn't even our waitress that brought over the boxes so I think I left a generous tip for the service I got.

The place was small and a little overcrowded. Service was not so great and dinner was just ok. I would not go out of my way to go there again.

The pizza here is some of the best, if not THE best in Issaquah. So why the bad rating? The fact that you have to deal with the staff (owner?) to get your pizza. My most recent experience. - I order the special pizza and ask to have all pepperoni instead of Candian Bacon and pepperoni. And to substitute artichoke hearts for red onion. Will there be an extra charge, I ask? "No", says the person I am talking to.. - May I add mozzarella? She says: "You want extra Mozarella. It already has it" Okay don't add then, I say...the menu doesn't indicate there is mozarella. When I pick up the pizza. - There is a $2.50 charge for substitution which isn't much but it is the principle. I had asked if there was a charge and was told no. I contest it and the owner comes out. - She says, "You can only have one substitution". When I relay the fact that the person I talked to said there were no extra charges, she says, "We had this problem with you before". This info was incorrect. - I said I don't mind paying, it just should have been communicated. "Leave then, I won't sell you this pizza." What??? She would rather dump a pizza then concede that they made a mistake and charge me the regular price? - I said, "Just go ahead and give it to me, I'll pay the extra". She then says, "Don't ever come in here again". I pay for the pizza and she discounts a dollar (instead of the $2.50) it should have been. - I get home and the pizza does NOT have mozarella and is missing the seeds. I see they didn't discount me for leaving this item off. I have never had an interaction like this in a restaurant. The restaurant wasn't full on a Thursday night at 7:00. Can you really be this carefree with customers?

Service slow, food tasted microwaved, music way too loud. They overcharged for an entree. I wanted to really like this place because it is local. They need to improve the food quality and service.

Had the "Amante Special" pizza delivered and what I liked about it was how much mozzarella cheese they put. What I didn't like was I asked for extra mushrooms and they did not put extra. The crust was good but overall it was like a Pizza Hut pizza just a little bit fancier. Will try them out again but a different kind of pizza and must try their pastas. Their prices are okay considering we used a $3 off coupon for a large 18" pizza. Also they shred their pepperoni which is interesting in my opinion.

They do have great pizza! Recently I ordered pasta which was described in the menu as having a cream tomato sauce. It arrived as a marinara. When I asked the waitress she said I was mistaken and went on to list the ingredients. She asked if I liked it and I said "Yes, it's just not quite what I expected". She shrugged and said "it's good that you like it" and walked away. As I was leaving I looked at a menu and showed her the pasta on it which clearly stated the pasta as having a cream tomato sauce. She just shrugged and kept on cleaning the table...

Boo Hiss. You should be ashamed of your new delivery fees. We've ordered delivery from Amante for years. Many times the order comes with a mistake, but we've forgiven and forgotten because we liked them and it is good pizza. However, it is not inexpensive pizza. In fact, it is more on the high-end compared to competitors it probably costs about 25% more. And we were glad to pay more. But when they added the new $3 delivery fee AND a $1 service fee (for ordering online!) we drew the line. There is no way it takes $3 worth of gas to get most of their delivery area and back. And don't tell me they don't take more than one delivery at a time. And since when do you charge a customer for ordering online? Is that not a MUCH cheaper option for you? If it is cheaper for you to pay a human to answer phones, than you run a really, really stupid Internet business. When I called to ask the fees, an impatient and dismissive Manager (Monica) defended the $3 fee for fuel (oh brother) and said the $1 fee isn't their "fault" (even though it's on their bill). Totally unaccountable. She said to go to their new "Issaquah Website" and I wouldn't be charged the $1 service fee. Not true, Monica. That is where I placed my order and saw the fee and called to ask about it. When I mentioned this, she she invited me to "just call instead." Oh, thanks Monica! I will just call. Someone else, that is. Amante makes me sad. We were loyal customers for years and dealt with all their mishaps without complaint. I can't count how many times the Florence (our favorite) woudl come without one of it's toppings. Then, as a reward for loyalty is we get to pay nearly $10 extra per order (when you account for the tip.) They never bother to tell customers the $3 goes to the driver so you could, if you want, adjust your tip. Anyway, Amante is no longer a reasonable choice. And the way they handled our feedback (as if they could care less) made a decision to go elsewhere in the future even easier. I hope this business plan brings them much success in the new economy, but I find it difficult to imagine that customers will tolerate this load of BS charges for long.

I had penne with meat sauce and i have to say that it was very good. The meat sauce reminded me of Fazolis, but may not sound like that much of an endorsement, but I actually like Fazolis. It's not too spendy for the quality, either. My wife ate a calzone, which was gigantic and not greasy. If you've tried to get a calzone most places, you probably realize how though that is.

Went for lunch with a girlfriend and had a Restaurant.com certificate (great way to try new restaurants). Even though certificate had an expiration date of 12/19/2010, the server told us they did not take the certificates anymore and I could speak to the manager. Manager came over and suggested I call the validation line (phone number on my certificate and invalidates certificate) and get my money returned. Really??Great customer service for $10 certificate on mediocre food. We will not be back! Maybe that's why restaurant was empty at lunch time!!

We had appetizers and drinks. The crab dip was absolutely horrific. Tasted like bad, cheap crab from a can - topped with cheddar cheese. No flavor, no creaminess! Awful. The other appetizer was calamari, which was completely generic and tasteless - with a dipping sauce of tarter sauce. Awful! The price was outrageous and we had spotty attention from our server. We will not be going back.

Blech. Maybe the pizza is okay, I can't say. The stuff we had (chicken parmigiano, meatball sub) was really pretty gross. The chicken had a KFC-flavored goo coating on it, the cheese tasted like plastic, and there was very little marinara on it even though there was a mountain of spaghetti underneath it all. The sub had meatballs that tasted fresh out of the freezer, and were still cold inside, even though they were scalding hot on the outside. Apparently they didn't microwave them long enough before serving. Read the package, people. *Sigh* And so funny to read Keith J's review, because my experience was exactly the opposite. I thought the atmosphere is basic at best, though clearly they spent the money on the bar, because it's the most done-up wall in the room. The wine list? Meh. Our server recommended a bottle that was reasonably priced, which was drinkable but certainly not what I would call "very nice". And the band? Well, I am pretty sure they were aiming for funny and spoof-ish (think Bill Murray lounge singer) and they weren't bad--just REALLY LOUD and I'm sorry, but I just can't enjoy myself when you're singing the theme song from Love Boat. Loudly. I think if you own a couple of teenage boys and the emphasis is volume of food rather than quality, then this is a good spot for you. Otherwise, pass.

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. This is probably one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had!! So I decided to go with the lobster ravioli and my girlfriend decided to go with the seafood alfredo. My lobster ravioli was decent at best. It was super salty and very soggy. On top of that it was $20 for about 4 small raviolis. I thought my dish was bad, but sadly my girlfriends dish was WORSE!! Her shrimp was overcooked and rubbery and somehow her scallops were undercooked and still cold inside. On top of that hers was also soggy and salty. She ended up adding almost the entire thing of parmesan cheese to try and get rid of the sogginess but nothing could help that dish. After our horrible meals I didn't think it could get any worse. We happened to try this place because we found it on Restaurant.com . The way this site works is you pay $10 to get a $25 gift card but you still have to pay $35 for it to be used. We ended up spending $34.80 and the server would not honor our certificate. Soooooo we asked for the desert menu praying that they couldnt mess up desert could they. So the server brought out the desert menu which had about 8 items on it. After the server came back to get our order we asked for an item and he then told us it wasn't available, we did this 4 more times until we finally found one that was available, why he couldn't tell us which ones weren't available from the beginning confuses me still. So the desert that was brought out was pretty much a refrigerated tiny piece of cake that was clearly store bought and they still charged $5 for it!! This was like I said one of the absolute worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant!! I would stay away from this sketchy place at all costs. I

Ordered fettucine alfredo, got a mound of pasta with TONS of garlic and not very much sauce. Since when did alredo sauce include like 10 cloves of garlic?!? I was the only one in the restaurant but the bartender, waitress and owners were too busy chatting with each other to check on me. Service was mediocre and pasta was blah. Perhaps I ordered the wrong dish, but it is suppose to be an Italian restaurant. Maybe the pizza is better but not willing to visit the restaurant again.

While this place tries really hard to be an Italian restaurant, the food somehow misses the mark. The owners are NOT Italian and everything is swimming in cheap oily cheese; not exactly authentic Italian. The salad is ice burg lettuce with a slice of cucumber and tomato - yuck! The salad dressing tastes like something you would get on Delta Airlines. You wont find Bolognese in this place! I have given Amantes 3 chances because people kept telling me it was getting better. I have had the lasagna, Baked Cannelloni and Baked Manicotti. All of them tasted exactly the same, smothered in too much cheese and too much sauce. No balance of ingredients whatsoever. I have not tried the pizza. The garlic bread was good. The service - what service? The service was horrible each time we visited. The first time there was a language barrier and they had no idea what I was ordering. During the second and third visit, I had to call someone over to order. Once the food arrived we never saw anyone again to ask if the food was OK or if we wanted anything else. They could care less. Once we had to beg for the check and then they stood over us to make sure we paid. It was a very strange experience. I have not visited since they moved to the new location on Front Street but after the poor service and food that tasted like something I could get in the frozen section of Trader Joes, it probably isn't worth another visit or my hard earned cash.

My husband and I have eaten at Amante off and on over the years. Last night was the second time we have been to the new location. The food has quickly gone down hill from what we had previously. Our waitress was beyond rude and actually reminded our group to tip her! And that was after an evening of her being totally annoyed by the fact she had to do her job! The portions have gotten larger and the quality tastes like frozen food now. If we go back it will be for pizza only, they are pretty tasty. But this will never be a date spot for us again. The plus....the live music last night was absolutely fantastic.

I am definitely reviewing for their delivery. Easy to use website and quick delivery. We've had a variety of items there - our favorites are the taco pizza, jalapeno poppers (they are the bomb), and the white spaghetti. Super easy delivery for an easy dinner!

I ordered delivery from Amante's. Steamed Clams in a sausage broth/sauce, Mixed Seafood Penne and Scallop Fettuccine. All but two clams were closed up. I'm no chef, but I believe that once steamed, the clam should open up, proving they were properly cooked. I thought surely the restaurant would want to know that my clams were bad? I called. Explained to the male that answered the phone. I was told to hold for a manager. The young sounding female manager told me that the clams were supposed to be closed. That's how the come! She further said that I was wrong and she wasn't going to argue with me. She said she'd send me more clams but that they would be the same. I told her "no thank you". She said she'd refund me the cost of the clam dish. I agreed and hung up. Needless to say, I was shocked at the attitude and more shocked that a manager wouldn't know a fundamental of seafood. Anyway, I dug into my Mixed Seafood Penne and discovered it was missing asparagus. Most of the dish consisted of penne with little sauce. My friend had ordered the Scallop Fettuccine. It had no seasoning that I could tell. I doctored it up with salt and pepper and a little garlic. Both of us were disappointed. Note: I never received that refund. Buyer Beware this place. It needs new cooks, staff and management!!!!

This is a local place for us and a go-to spot (both eat-in and take-away) when we need good Italian. Have only stuck to Italian dishes - gnocchi, putenessca, Alfredo. All great. Pizza also good.

well, much as some other diners here, the food i had here was right out of the freezer. they brought out a huge plate of steaming eggplant parmesan; however, even though it looked like it had just come from the inside of a volcano, the inside was FROZEN! i had to send it back and they brought out the same portion warmed up. very low class. also very skimpy on the mozzarella. my son had the meat calzone which he thought was inedible and he eats out of the garbage can with my dog. it gets 2 stars not 1 bc of the size of the portions and that my wife liked her baked spaghetti.

I've gone here many times and usually the food is pretty good. My favorite thing to order is the chicken marsala, which is a lot more flavorful than most chicken marsalas I've ordered at other italian restaurants. I like the atmosphere, sometimes they have a live band playing. The service is a hit or a miss. The female server who is usually there is pretty good, but the guy server is not. They have happy hr all day in the bar which is pretty cool too.

New location is great. Food is still good and plentiful. The new bar area and specials are great for some cheap eats in a relaxed spot. The folks who work here are nice and will bend over backwards if you need something. Most pasta dishes are very good! Pizza is good too! You can't go wrong!

The first time I tried to go there on a Friday evening, I got turned away, told that they were just too busy. Seemed odd to me, but I guess I'd rather hear that and move on to something else than wait forever for a table. Decided to give it another try a few weeks later and found it to be decent. The pizza is good, and they have so many to choose from. The pasta dishes I've had were so-so, and I didn't love the bite of calzone that I stole from my husband. That being said, Issaquah lacks a modestly priced italian place so while I'm sure we'll go back, we're still are hoping to find a better option someday. The wait staff is also pretty good, especially if they're not too busy. The outdoor patio is quite nice on a warm evening.

The pizza was OK, really disappointed in the caesar salad. The dressing was really sub-par, no trace of anchovy and not enough garlic which are key to a good caesar. I also noticed on the menu that the Puttanesca pasta doesn't include anchovies, which again, is a critical ingredient to that dish. They probably figure that anchovies will scare too many people away, but if somebody likes caesar salad then they've eaten anchovies and probably not known it. If they are fresh they can be a subtle yet tastey element of a dish. If Amante wants to cater to bland tastes that's fine but I'm not impressed. I have to say Lombardi's next door, while being far from a fabulous Italian restaurant, at least has a pretty good caesar salad and is slightly further away from the Olive Garden end of the scale.

I'm done giving this place a chance to improve....I used to leave in Issaquah and ordered from Amante's occasionally and was disappointed. Since then I have moved to Bellevue - it's been a few years and decided to order again. I added chicken to an order, but when delivered....no chicken. This is not the first time this has happened. When I called, a rude woman put me on hold before I could finish my sentence, then I man told me he would refund my $2.95 for added chicken, which was never done.

My wife and I went to this restaurant in december 2010. It was our 1st time and we were looking for italian. The place was packed and the music was decent, the food was okay, expensive. So fast forward to january 2011 on a Thursday evening, we thought we would give it another try. Boy was that a mistake. We were one of 3 people in the place and the music from the live musician was way too loud. We asked if they had any bread and oil and the waitress with the fake fat lip looked at us like we were crazy. She said she would see what she could do. After a few minutes, she returned with a hoagie roll and some olive oil, not quite what we had in mind, but okay. The spahgetti was plain and no better than I could have made at home, on the positive side, the water was clean. Safe yourself from this over priced hole. On the plus side, the decor is nice. Total bill for two, no drinks, plain pasta with marinera and cheese ravioli with marinera came to $29

This is a new pizza place here in town located on the next block behind Taco Bell. They serve pizza, pasta, salads, and sandwiches. The pizza was great: not soggy but not too crisp, and the Tortellini Special (with bacon and green peas in Alfredo Sauce) still makes my mouth water. This will be a great place for a small Margherita Pizza and a glass of wine after a movie. (They have their license!)

They're only getting 2 stars because the fleetwood Mac band was GREAT! So, my husband and I were out for our anniversary dinner and didn't want to go home just yet. My great idea, lets check out amante's so we do. We sit down order a drink and then the waitress asks if we are here to see the band? Um, sure, ya we are. Then you need to pay 15 dollars per person!! WHA??!! It's past 9 and the show is more than half over! We laughed and left! I get what they're doing but they just lost a couple of locals! I'm all about supporting live music and I'm a musician, I'm not supporting being ripped off. Thanks Amante's.

Compared to the Amante in Renton, this place isn't that much better. It was happy hour when my friend and I went in and our first impression was how empty the place was. From the happy hour menu we ordered the potato skins, pesto shrimp flatbread, and the sausage and mushroom pizza. The potato skins were unremarkable; they tasted like something you could get in the freezer section of the grocery store. The flatbread and pizza were much better but still not memorable. The drinks here are terrible! My first drink was something mango or peachy. It tasted like straight syrup; I couldn't taste the alcohol at all. I decided to try another drink and get a margarita. Bad idea! It was all margarita mix. Awful! There are so many great places to eat in Issaquah that I wouldn't even bother coming back here.

Slow and inattentive service. We had several courses and each time the waiter rushed off leaving us to wave him down for silverware. Water was brought at the end of the meal. Fresh calamari straight from the frozen section. Veal parm burned on the edges. Staff was too busy attending to their private party, and we were informed part way through dinner that we would have to leave by 730. Gladly.

I see all the negative reviews and I dont understand. We have come here frequently and enjoyed the great live music, food was good and staff very friendly and accommodating. Yes the service was slow but considering how busy it was and with limited staff, its understandable especially since its family run and owned. I think they are deserving of more stars then they have been given. Thank you for having great music.

Service is horrible! I've been multiple times, and have never experienced timely service. I've even seen the waitress texting instead of doing her job. I've had to get up and walk to the bar and ask for my check because it's taken so long. I'm a patient person, and do enjoy leisurely dining from time to time, but that's just ridiculous! The happy hour menu is pretty good, although I'm pretty sure they changed the crust on their pizzas, it didn't taste as good as previous visits.

IF YOU CAN EVEN GET SEATED....this is a nice place for Italian. We have been at least six times, and enjoyed various entrees. Last Friday we arrived around 6:00 p.m.. The restaurant was vacant except for a table of three in the main dining area and a table of two in the bar. We were told we coldn't be seated because they were all sold out for the entire evening EVEN in the bar. No apologies or 'Come back another time.' Guess is am willing to forego my $15 Groupon and not offer this place my patronage again.

Nice little spot in downtown Issaquah. The decor is nice, good ambiance. We had a couple pasta dishes, fettuccine and tortellini. Both were delish, so was the bread. Big portions too. The meatball sandwich was yummy too, good sauce. The bar looks fun and they have live music sometimes.

THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!!!! Me and my 5 of my girlfriends decided to have a girls night (once every 5 months, well deserved) came here. I was the first to arrive and went straight to the bar. When I sat down and asked for a wine list they said do you have a reservation? What the heck does that matter. I went to the bar and was going to order a drink. I told them we had girls meeting there and they might have. They looked and no reservation. I said no problem, I will just sit at the bar and wait for everyone to get here with my wine and we can decide if we want to eat. They said I needed to tell them now. That they were going to be very busy and the bar is going to be used up by someone who is having a birthday. I said fine, we will take a table for 6. The service was HORRIFIC. The girl was extremely rude, never spoke more than 2 words at a time and disappeared for 20 minutes at one point. We just decided after ordering 5 apps and a couple drinks that we would go somewhere else. We couldn't find the server though. So I went to the bar and asked the owner (I guess) for our check. it was then thrown down on our table and she was gone. We all had separate checks and didn't get a chance to tell her that before she walked away. So we all decided to tell her to just put a certain amount on each card and done. They came back and said there is still $3 left on it. I told her to just put it on my card. Even though we didn't want to leave her anything we still had the heart to leave her 15% tip. I usually always leave 20% but not this time. Today I checked my bank account and noticed there were 2 charges pending from Amante. I called to tell them that they didn't void the 1st one out and the woman SNAPPED at me and said..."How could you know that...the machines haven't even been closed out yet". seriously I was so polite. I didn't deserve that. I told her that it appeared in my bank statement and then she snapped at me again. I asked for a manager to speak with and she said "I'm the OWNER, and I remember who you are. I was there I saw her void it off. I know exactly what was charged. I then said I was unhappy with how we were treated there and now I didn't understand why she was being so ugly with me. She snapped again and said "I'm just telling you how it is"! WHAT! I cannot believe she is still in business acting like this. I then said I would not be bringing my business back there and would make sure to tell everyone I know how I was treated. She said Great Thank you Bye, and hung up on me. I have never in my life had this happen to me. Please save your money. NO ONE deserves to be treated like this...EVER! If I could give this negative stars I would. What a shame. The band was great. Next time go to Vinno Bella and skip this monstrosity!

Pros- fast delivery and the website ordering was easy peasy. But... then we started eating and it went downhill from there. The pizza was soggy, and the sauce was bland and not worth the price. Then there were the wings. I might be a bit of a wing snob, but these were horrid. Soggy and no flavour. :(

I go there for their Bulgarian dishes. Love them. If you're out there and want to try some authentic bulgarian food, ask for Shopska salad and kebapcheta. Or "banitsa". The staff is pretty nice, especially Zuzie is very attentive waitress and always fun to talk to. Parking is no problem - behind the building there is a parking lot.

I've been there twice now. Service has been great and they are consistently attentive (had Chico as our waiter both times, he's sincerely frriendly) and the pizza (have sampled 3 different ones, the Meat Lover's and Margherita are very good). Nice atmosphere (tables are nicely spaced) and something subtle, the bathrooms are very clean which is a sign to me they take pride in their establishment. Prices are a tad high but worth it, imo. (Note: Both times we were there later in the evening so can't comment on service during busy times)

Major disappointment! The coconut shrimp was on par with supermarket brand and when the pizza and flat bread came its bottom was covered in grease. To top the experience off the manager got angry and told us that the grease should be there and they have never received complaints. There is much better pizza and Italian within walking distance

Let me start by saying my husband and I used to love this place back when they were in that funky building behind Lumbardi's... they should have stayed there. The pizza is better than most in issaquah (this is not saying much). The last few times we ordered pizza for delivery the messed up the order anchovies on the whole pie when you request them on the side because dog only knows why anyone would want seal breath..shudder...bleehhh! However they always comp the next one free ( after you demand to speak with the owner because the gal on the phone tells you 'no.you pay!' Tonight has officially ended our patronage of this place. We ordered take away from a groupon 15.00 for 30.00 bucks worth of food.we added the calamari and bread sticks along w a Caesar salad ( extra anchovies...bleh). A house salad w grilled chicken. We pick up our grub and made our treck down stop and go traffic on Hobart Rd. Get home open the bag.. NO SALADS!!!! I call the restaurant explain we have no salad.'one moment please..'. hold for a while 'yes your salads are here you can come get them' Excuse me?!?! I explain I want them delivered and I want them made fresh again because the hot grilled chicken would have wilted the lettuce . Dinner arrives, the driver expected a tip. (Sorta goes against the concept of To Insure Prompt service). Which leads to what hot grilled chicken? It was dry, hard and nasty I cook most every night and I could not achieve that level of cardboard to save my life. It came from a freezer bag precooked. There were no extra anchovies, the Caesar dressing is a bad jarred brand, as was the marinara the calamari was also a purchased freezer product so chewy and rubbery it could have been used as an eraser... I hate to say it but we won't be back until they step out of the freezer Isle at wal-mart go back to cooking the food themselves.

I have such mixed feelings writing this review, because I love their food, but when I feel that I've been taken advantage of, not once, but twice, I must warn other customers. My wife and I took the kids to dinner several weeks ago and had a wonderful, very flavorful meal. Chicken marsala and I had another pasta, which I now can't recall, but remember the flavors being very good. Great experience, used our Passport card and they appropriately took the discount. We were impressed, swore we'd come back soon. Two weeks later we returned for lunch. I had checked ahead of time and noticed that it was listed on the Passport site as available for lunch, so I thought what the heck. We came in and were given their standard lunch menu, which mentioned nothing of being a 'special' menu. We had a great meal. My son had a wonderful pizza, my daughter a delicious fettuccini, my wife an out of this world calzone, and myself a pasta, all great. Check came and we gave our credit card with our 2 Passport cards and she immediately said that they don't take Passport on their special menu. We were a little shocked and didn't want to seem cheap, so I paid the bill and on the way out picked up a menu again. Just as I thought, no mention at all of any special pricing. Just looked like a standard lunch menu. We left, but it was really bugging me, as I felt that I had been taken advantage of. I contacted Passport Unlimited, who said that they would look in to it. A week later, I received this message from Passport, regarding Amante, "The Restaurant Relations Team reached out to Amante in regards to your dining experience and I just received an update. I was advised that the restaurant offers a specials menu at lunch time and, unfortunately, the Passport card cannot be used if items are ordered from this menu. You are welcome to ask for the regular menu and the Passport card may then be utilized. I hope this provides clarification for future visits." Wrong! What they did was so out of line. There is one and only one menu when you come in the door. If this is the way that they do business, they won't get mine. Before I had received the response from Passport, I thought I'd give them another chance, as they had a gyro on the menu that was posted as $6.05. I love gyros and have been looking for a place where I could pick up a quick gyro on the go. I called, ordered, asking for the sauce to be put on the gyro (so that I wouldn't have one mound on the top). I walked in the door, double checking the menu again, wondering if I had just missed the specials listing. Nope! Gal comes up, I tell her I have a to-go order and she disappears to the kitchen for a good 4-5 minutes. Granted, I had ordered it 20 minutes prior and had already made it to the grocery store and back before coming in. Comes out, gyro has the sauce on the side and she hands me the check. $9. I ask why it's $9 and she says that it's for dine in only. I was hungry and had to get home for a client call, so didn't argue. Gave her $20 cash. She disappears for another 4-5 minutes out back and finally comes back with the change. I was late for my call. Didn't expect I'd have to spend an extra 6-8 minutes waiting for her to get my order and pay my bill. They weren't even remotely close to being busy (maybe that was my 'sign'). I feel that they'll do anything they can to get you in the door and make money from you the first time, but really don't care about earning your long-term business. I feel like they've given me the bait and switch twice and I don't appreciate it. Their food is really good, but if I don't feel appreciated and feel like they're being honest, then, as a business owner myself, I feel compelled to refrain from giving them my money. Disappointed!

My husband and I had first gone Trattoria Amante over a year ago, and thought the food was pretty good, but the service was awful. We decided to give it another chance and used a groupon last night. We were greeted right away and seated. Our waiter was very good, a guy, and very friendly and attentive without being overly so. He did recommend a very good red wine to us. Our salads were both good and very fresh, and I loved by eggplant parmesean and my husband really enjoyed his fettucine formaggio. If you havent been in a while, you may want to give them a second chance!

A very nice surprise! My fiance and I were walking by getting ready to head home when we walked by and decided to stop for a quick bite. The atmosphere was pretty nice, good space for the location, the server was nice...we unfortunately did see a rather overweight, female server who was allowed to present herself with a shmedium shirt and her fat belly hanging down underneather it. Um...gross. I sure hope someone said something to her. So, anywho, the food was really good!! I had Gnocchi with a Caesar salad and my fiance had a baked Ziti which was also pretty awesome. We will be sure to come back!!

Get the pizza, not the pasta! Its way better! I got their tortellini and it was frozen in some spots, showing that they just microwave frozen pasta and give it to you. Other people I was with had gotten the pizza and I tried theirs and it was pretty good, much tastier than the tortellini dish. Our waiter was great, very attentive and funny too!

Well my experience here was pretty poor. I went here during one of their music nights and saw Wings and Things which were great! The restaurant however, could have been better. The wine and food prices were a little pricey. The most annoying part was that they would not accept our Passport Discount Card, even though they are one of the participating restaurants. They didn't tell us this until our check came. Because of their denial of my passport card alone, I will probably never go back here. Food wise, I ordered the four cheese baked spaghetti. It was not very good. Certainly not worth what I paid for it. The sauce was gross, but the cheese part was good. The other couple we were with tried the pizza, which they said was good. Overall, pretty poor experience here. The owner of this establishment needs to get it together. I would not recommend going here unless you plan to spend a lot on drinks and/or you plan to order the pizza.

I love this place and there's a reason that it's always busy. It's family run and the owners are friendly. They have great pizza and pasta dishes too. I've been going here since before it moved to the Front Street location. My favorite pizza in Issaquah.

Wow! Worst experience ever!! Read this to the bottom because not only is it entertaining, you have to see the email the manager sent me back. (Spoiler alert!) We have ordered delivery from Amante many times, the food has been average every time, but good enough for when we feel lazy and don't want to cook or go anywhere. The delivery drivers are nice enough so no complaints there. However our experience last night has resulted in us never doing business with them again. We placed our order online as usual. About 5 minutes later I get a call from someone telling me that what I ordered, a quesadilla, was no longer on the menu and I needed to order something different. No big deal, he rattled off all the apps and I asked if I could call right back with something else. No problem. While I think if you do online ordering, you should probably keep your menu up to date, I was not upset and called back and ordered a gyro. That's where things started to go south... There are 3 types of gyros, he was in such a hurry he didn't ask which kind so I had to say lamb please over his first ok ok bye, after the meat was established he was ok, ok, bye, and I said wait no tomato or onion please, he was like ok, ok and we hung up. An hour later our food showed up. The mozz sticks were under cooked, but again we don't order for the quality, we order for the convenience. I open my gyro and there is no tzatziki sauce. My husband calls immediately and we ask for them to call the driver thinking he may have it in his car, and we live in condos so we knew he was probably not gone yet. He hangs up and we wait to hear back. 25 minutes pass with no contact. I'm ticked. I write an email to their customer service saying how disappointed I was with this experience overall, mainly with how we had been treated on the phone overall and that I was going to write a review on Yelp.(Which I almost never do, unless it's good) So i eat my sauceless gyro. 35 minutes after the initial call, we get a knock on the door. It was our original driver (who was very nice) with the sauce. Gyro is now basically a chunk of pita lying in a box. I tell my husband, that was nice that they brought the sauce, its a shame they didn't call to let us know. 25 minutes later, I get this email response to my email:(Literally copying and pasting) "I returned the driver with 2 sauces for your gyro and really did not do anything wrong for not calling you again to receive this email now!!!!!!!!!!! You ate more than welcome to take your business some place else in town and do not call for delivery to us because after you treating me with yelp I am not going to deliver anymore to your house!!!!! This is the customer service you really deserve after your letter!" And then... I get a phone call! She again threatens me over the phone and reiterates much of what she put in her email. My email was an expression of disappointment, no exclamation signs in sight. It's a sad state of affairs when this is how customers are treated. Proceed cautiously with this restaurant, and buyer beware!

We went on a Friday night which was additionally busy because of the Wine Walk in Issaquah plus two large parties booked everything except the bar. The music was great, I have to say. And the food was good too. The trouble I have is how I felt, the overall experience. The service was slow but dot blame that on the server. She was serving the whole bar plus she was the only bartender too. When our friends showed up unexpectedly with their less-than-21yo daughter, we wanted to move in to the restaurant but it was sold out. So our group stayed and our buddies decided to leave...pretty embarrassing. I told the manager they need to hook our friends up with a gift certificate so they will come back. They manager said "so what? We're busy! People like our food." The food was good, true, but we will never be back. And neither will our friends.

We stopped here for a couple drinks and discovered there was an 80's Band playing! Suhhhweeet! Love 80's, love drinks, love good times. The bartender and staff were all really nice and helpful. The people in the bar were hilarious! We will definitely stop by here again, especially if there is an 80's band playing again!

I've found that while this place is sort of expensive, if you order the right things it is well worth it. I totally agree with a lot of the other reviews regarding the entree dishes they serve. Basically all freezer section conctions that they are most likely not used to serving anyways. Stick with the pizza, pasta, and calzones. Favorites: Bella Luna - I am a huge sucker for olive oil, garlic, and goat cheese, so this is a natural must for me. If you're in the mood for something that gives the illusion that it is a bit lighter, this is a good choice. I'd ask them to go a little easy on the pine nut, however, as there was a moment that I forgot whether I was eating pizza or gathering up spoils for the harsh winter ahead. Thai House - Classic Thai-style topping with the added flavor of the garlic and olive oil base. I like the slight kick they give to the peanut sauce and the fact that they clearly used fresh spinach, although it is rumored that that's a hit or miss. The chicken was fine, although like most pizza places, I'm pretty sure it's still just frozen breasts that are thawed, sliced, and baked. Still, thanks to the sauce on this one, no complaints. Chicken Pesto - Obvious. It has pesto. Good pesto. Good game. Florence - Delicious, although I hate them add feta and goat cheeses, which made it 8x more delicious and about 6 bucks more expensive. Doesn't matter. When you're creating your Pie-fection, you just have to go for it. Spinach was again Yum - Feel bad for those who got the shaft. Honorable Mentions (without detail): Feta Fetish Seattle's Favorite Spartacus **I can't bring myself to try the seafood pizzas... I love seafood but I don't feel it works out that great on pizza. BTW - I have never actually eaten in the restaurant, so I'm not sure if that really affects the quality. My company takes advantage of the free delivery so that's been my only experience.

I have given this restaurant more than one chance to earn my business and both times I have been highly disappointed. The service was slow and inexperienced. Stick to the pizza if you order food - everything else me/my family has tried tasted premade and reheated, with very little flavor/taste. I would NOT call this restaurant "family friendly"... we took our 18 monoth old daughter and there was no kids menu offered and when we asked for a cup of water for her they didn't have anything other than a plastic 16 oz cup. :( Lastly, and most importantly my salad came with a nice long brown hair in it. I discovered it half way thru eating it and opted to stop there. When I told my server about it, he apologized and offered to make me another one. At this point our dinners were just coming out of the kitchen and I didn't want another salad. Upon getting the bill, we were not compensated or even offered a free dessert for the trouble. So gross. This is the first place I have ever eaten at where I didn't leave a penny for a tip.

I had the Chicken Parmesan. The chicken was literally freezer-food chicken tenders. The cheese was low-quality, like it came pre-shredded in a big Sysco bag. The sauce was clearly out of a jar. The pasta was cooked too long then baked too long so the inner pieces were soggy and the outer/top pieces were dry and crusty. There was too much cheese. The included salad was more like a Bulgarian Shopska than anything I have ever had in Italy or any Italian restaurant, for that matter. The cheese was again low-quality. My meal alone cost $16. The ingredients couldn't have cost more than $2. It was one of the most disappointing meals of my life. I know people sometimes exaggerate on this site for effect, but I am serious. Paying that much for this meal was physically painful. It actually made me depressed for the rest of the afternoon. I can't believe they have not gone out of business. The only possible explanation I can come up with is that they saturated Facebook with ads for a while. Maybe the pizza is less disgusting than the pasta? I personally don't have the stomach to give them another try. Some people must like their generous portions even though the food is utterly vomit-inducing.

Update: I am upping my initial 3 star rating for Amante's to 4 stars after a second visit there for lunch. It's definitely a great pizza/calzone place, which is what we ordered this time. Compared to other pizzerias in its league that offer similar food, it was really, really good.

I won't step in that restaurant ever again!! They lied about my reservation. Then charged us $3.00 per person, if we don't spend more than $20.00 on the day they have a live band. The waiter absolutely rude. I don't know who are the owner of that restaurant. That is not how you treat customers!!

It sucks to write this negative review because my wife and I had actually been big fans of Amante for a few years. We just had an extremely negative experience that prompted me to finally write a review. My wife likes to order their chicken pesto pizza, but always asks for no mozzarella as she tries to stay away from cheese made with cow's milk. She enjoys the goat cheese that the pizza comes with. We've ordered the pizza with no mozzarella dozens of times, but tonight was the first time it came without goat cheese as well. I wanted to call and let the store know, thinking it was just an honest mistake and that they would be happy to replace it. My wife was worried that calling would just start an argument. After spending 5 minutes on the phone explaining that the pizza didn't have goat cheese, and being told I'm wrong even though I have the pizza in front of me, I finally convinced the woman I was speaking with to send a new pizza. Twenty minutes pass and I get a voicemail from the restaurant. It was the chef, saying that he did put goat cheese on the pizza and that they would not be sending a new pizza. I call back and talk with the same woman, explaining the voicemail to her. After going back and forth again for 5 minutes, with me continually explaining that I was a regular customer, ordering what we always do and that I had no reason to make this up, things hit a breaking point. She yelled at me over the phone, saying that she had a full restaurant and did not have time to talk to me. She yelled that she would make my pizza herself and then hung up. This very unprofessional behavior coupled with being told that I was lying about the pizza, means that we will not be ordering from this restaurant again. It's a shame, we really used to enjoy it. The delivery drivers are great. I've gotten to know them well over the years. So long Amante Pizza & Pasta. Go yell at someone else.

Were to begin... Dirty silverware x2, dirty table cloths, slow service, wait staff using a cart for dishes for which they parked literally in front of the door so anyone coming in could see it. Strange. We walked out, paid for the sodas (which were flat), at the dirty silverware. Food might be great, but if they gave me silverware with someone elses meal stuck to them, what's going on where we don't see? - gross place. Went to bbq down the street instead, great fast service.

Amantes was recommended to me by a friend. if I had checked out the with Yelp reviews on this restaurant, I never would have come. much to you like I had a fabulous meal here. the prices are very reasonable and the baked Ziti was wonderful. I'm glad I did not check out the reviews before coming. It looks like I am NOT alone as there is quite a nice crowd here.

I went here with my parents for lunch almost a month ago. I'm new to the area and look forward to going back with my husband. Service was great and we were all impressed with the quality and quantity of food.

We had eaten at Amante before they moved to Front Street, and usually, we had gotten their salads (big enough for 4 people), or their entrees, and before this most recent trip, pizza for delivery. I'd always thought they were ok, given they accept the Prime card (buy 1 entree, get 1 free), though the food was never spectacular. Certainly, the desserts were nothing special, though I had forgotten that on a recent trip to their Front Street location. This time, we got 2 entrees: Chicken Penne and Fettucine Carbonara. The first was a bit on the oily side, no "pesto" really to speak of, just some herbs, artichokes, a little parmesan sauce, and some thin dry pieces of grilled chicken. The second actually had a nice smoky bacon flavor, but still a bit oily. I have to remember, never ever order dessert here. I forgot this time. They are way overpriced and not at all good. I ordered the Chocolate gelato, and I swear, it came out of a frozen yogurt machine. My hubby got the Tiramisu, which was a small slice, and barely had any flavor. Each of them $7, for shame. Their prices seems to have gone up since they moved to Front Street, but I guess that's not surprising given their bigger, more visible location, spiffier decor, and more servers. Still, it's about the food and service, which was decent, but doesn't mean squat when there's so many other places to eat.

Just visited the new location on Front Street - the food was pretty good and the portions much larger than I expected. The menu itself is quite impressive with options for pretty much anyone! I rarely leave a restaurant with leftovers, but was full from the food and left with lunch for tomorrow! On the other hand, the atmosphere is pretty poor - looks more like someone setting up tables for a one-time banquet then a permanent restaurant. Maybe its just due to the new location? Sadly why I am giving these three stars is due to the service. When first arriving they told me at first not to sit in one chair because it was broken, then gave me another. When I sat it was also broken and the side crushed my finger very badly (nail is turning blue). No one apologized, offered ice to help or provide us anything free with our meal. The server never mentioned it again and was rarely seen during out dinner. Not impressed.

Ordered pizza, its a friday, and lunch rush. Quoted 45 minutes, it was instead 1.5 hours. Oh, and on the paper with the order info, they print out your credit card number in full. Thats safe. All of that aside, the pizza was very good. *edit: second time delivering.. late, again.

We came in and was seated rather quickly, but they weren't busy so that is what I would expect. In fact, they were so not busy that the older, ethnic lady and our waitress came back a total of six times to ask us if we were ready. That crossed the "good waitress" line and turned in to semi-annoying. We also had the calamari appetizer that came with a lot of lemon and a lot of tartar sauce, something that put me off in the beginning for a place that considers it to be "authentic." Unless the tartar sauce came from the undergrounds in a mystical place in Italy, but I doubt that. My boyfriend ordered some chicken breast spaghetti dish that was the size of my face and had the quarter of my weight of parmesan cheese pasted on to it. The sauce was tasteless and this dish would have only tasted good if I starved myself for 5 days. My pasta entree was a little bit better, I had the salmon pasta. It seemed like it came out of Costco's frozen pasta packages. I've never had one, but if I did, I would imagine it would be like that. Unseasoned and bland. For $15, I was disappointed. The sauce was skimpy and did not impress me one bit. There was not one ounce of surprise in that dish. This place gives bigger portions than I had expected, so that's why this place would get a 3 stars from me. The location is somewhere I would never go to past 7:30 PM, and it took the server about 10-15 minutes to give us change back when the restaurant wasn't even half full.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
