I'd like to review the food, but after going well out of our way to try this place out we found it closed at 6:45 on a Thursday evening, over an hour before the posted closing time. If we happen to be going by again when they happen to be open, maybe we'll stop in, but we won't be making another effort to get there.

Food is good but not fantastic. Beer selection is good. Service and ambience are second to none. One of my favorite places to grab a burger

I saw this place before it closed and never tried it. Once I saw it reopen, I had to try. We walked in and we were greeted by the entire staff...of 2 people...because the place was completely empty. The woman who seated us was, I assume based on other reviews, the owner. She was SUPER nice but SUPER awkward. The food was delicious but the experience was awkward. It was also expensive. I might be back. On the other hand, I can easily see why the restaurant went under the first time.

Well, for one day, the "burger bar" next to the Edmonds bakery served decent burgers at a reasonable price. That was a great day. We're back to the place that never opens yet keeps their lease. This is such a good location but this place keeps falling on its face. Let something new try!!

I hate having to write a 1 star review...but dang it...it is well deserved. Came in 45 minutes prior to close. We saw the "please wait to be seated" & we did wait, for 10 minutes. Mind you only 2 other tables had guests & the owner ( I later find out) was to busy making herself something to eat (later hea her telling another customer, she han't eaten & was grabbing a bit) seriously??!! As customers stand at enterance waiting to be seated. Let alone at least acknowledged. Anything!?! Waitress finally comes out & seats us. Order fish & chips. Seriously the smallest over fried fish, I have ever seen. Less than a mile from the ocean???!!! Apple pie was cold & gross (from a box, saw the waitress getting it). We came from Phoenix & are loyal diners at the 5'n Diner (simular place) and this place won't last a year with over priced, lack buster food. I agree with other post, the decor was wickedly awesomr. That however won't keep them in biz, $26 before tip for: 1 pop, 1 order fish/chips & an apple pie. Waitress informed us the owners also own thr bakery nect door. I can say, I won't be giving another $$ to either place. Owner should take a customer service class. :( I was so excited for this place to open, seriously a shame.

Mediocre at best. Money is better spent elsewhere. Food was not worth the price...fries were those weird dark greasy kind and burger was just a burger. Beverages served in ugly plastic cups yet the wall has shelves of diner style drink ware. Decor is OK but I hardly think that throwing a bunch of Marilyn Monroe pictures on the walls constitutes a 50's diner. This place could be sooooo much more with just a little more effort. Put the servers in poodle skirts and saddle shoes and get someone behind the soda counter making up awesome drinks and shakes. The atmosphere was almost depressing..liven it up and make it a real deal diner/soda fountain! Oh and ditch the fake ice cream sundaes....tacky.

We tried this place before when the owners opened it as Main Street Burgers and they didn't last too long. Great concept, wrong people running it. Now they have re-opened it as 50's Burger Bar. The food is actually decent..... if you like silver dollar sized hamburgers. They claim it to be 1/4 pound burger..... I can't see it. It actually looks more like a slider. IDK, you be the judge. I guess my point is why present an actually beautiful creation only to have it spoiled by the one ingredient that actually count's in a burger. Most places are using 1/3lb patties anymore, I'm sure their customers will pay the price. I had the fish and chips (hand battered cod, hand cut fries) and they were excellent (except that we didn't see the waitress again for my vinegar until I was half way done with the meal). The restaurant is void of any personality, customer service, appreciation, (other than the soda fountain/50's diner decor that is actually quite cool but doesn't make up for the lack of mentioned). I actually wish these guys the best and hope they can make it, hopefully they have learned from their past mistakes and flourish..... I'll give them another shot in a few months.

Great little place that has everything! Me and two girlfriends wanted all different things, a cocktail, ice cream and coffee! This place is calm and fun and open late :) the gals were helpful and attentive! Fun and awesome 50s atmosphere too! I will be back! Great little date place and I'm totally gonna bring my boyfriend in to share a milkshake!

OMG!! I just don't get it. Its open, its not, its open, its not... and I mean not just days but MONTHS at a time. Nothing ever changes. Same terrible service, same terrible food. They just keep opening under a different name I guess thinking it will help things. It sure doesn't. Still same awful service trying to get a table WHEN NO ONE IS IN THERE!!! Same tiny tiny over priced portions. Please let someone else make a go of this place. Obviously they cannot run a bakery and a restaurant at the same time.

My roommate and I were having an especially horrible day. We found this place by accident. Come for the amazing burgers, buns, and fries. Stay for the owner, Sandy. She's a saint. We'll be back this week to try one of their boozified shakes.

It is sad but true - this place looks amazing but that is all it has going for it. I had high hopes and was completely let down. I was super excited when they re-opened...but... While the waitress was friendly she missed the mark on just about everything. I ordered a moscow mule and it was served without ice, odd! Then I ordered a bacon cheese burger that was supposed to have special sauce, cooked medium well. I received the tiniest patty with no bacon, no sauce, and it was extremely pink in the middle! When I finally was able to find the waitress again she apologized and stated that she wrote it down correctly so she's not sure what happened. Mind you, she didn't write the order down at the table so I'm not sure when she actually "wrote it down." So, first she just brought me a side of the crunchiest over-cooked bacon I've ever seen. Then I said, I'm sorry, the whole order is a wreck, it's not cooked and there's no sauce. So, they remade it and brought me some sauce on the side but I had to wait for 10 more minutes for that and then 10 minutes after that to get a knife to put the sauce onto the burger. The place feels uncomfortable all around. No music or atmosphere despite their awesome decor. But sadly, I don't think the decor is going to keep these people afloat and I'm sad because who doesn't LOVE a good 50's style diner? I hope they figure it out and read the other reviews they're getting. They have a PRIME location and could be so popular if they just try a bit.

We just discovered this place and were really happy to eat there. The décor is awesome, 50's+ music playing, food was really fresh (salad very fresh, and buns made by Edmonds bakery daily), and the fries were the best we'd ever tasted. Thick enough but not those huge dry ones, and not skinny and greasy--just right, with a little crunch. This amazed me most of all. The only thing I would mention is that they forgot the sauce on my burger and I had to ask, and it wasn't anything that special. But I didn't want the bun (calories!), so they did a lettuce "wrap" on lots of fresh romaine lettuce. They said they had reopened in June and business was growing, so I hope it does. We had fun!

I was a little startled when i saw the burgers started at $10 but I can't say we (the 3 of us) didn't all enjoy ours. Above average fries & friendly service. The girls shared a $7 dollar milkshake and absolutely loved it. Awesome job on decor but thought they should embrace the theme more & crank up the retro music. A jukebox would also be great there. On the cusp of being a fun place but trying to keep everyone happy will be a challenge in Edmonds.

The boozey milkshakes are definitely winners. The fries (regular, garlic, sweet potato) are above avearge and my vegetarian son gets cravings for their homemade veggie burger. I would advise skipping the cocktails and going for the shakes with the good stuff.
