Koong Thong Thai Cuisine Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Best Thai in Auburn, lunch buffet for $10 is a deal. Never had bad food here and it's one of the few places where you can tell them 10 stars and actually receive 10 stars. Pad see ew and the curry are the go to items if it's not lunch time.

This place is solid. The owners are humble and hard working, 3 star yellow curry chicken is my go to guilty pleasure, and it is reasonably priced. It does look like a dive, but so does Thailand once you get away from the tourist Meccas. I give it five stars and two thumbs up because it always meets my expectations. I also am admittedly somewhat adverse to slamming people and their livelihood via the anonymity of the internet.

Great food and super friendly service - we'll be back. Don't let the way it looks deceive you! P.S. I can normally handle spicy food so I asked for my dish to be a 4 out of 5 on the hot scale and it was incredibly spicy!

I have to be honest....I was really, REALLY apprehensive about going here. I mean, who the heck goes to a restaurant where the name contains a reference to an undergarment, right? And it looks like a total dive on the outside! Boy, was I ever in for a surprise. Friends from work convinced me to order takeout one day. I got the cashew chicken and it was delicious! The chicken was white meat, good quality (no fat or gristle); the dish had lots of crisp-tender vegetables, and the sauce was flavorful and wasn't too salty either. All in all, I was totally impressed! I decided to go back to try more dishes, and found my current favorite. Their curry fried rice is out of this world! While they offer it with meat, I usually ask for no meat, with veggies instead, and they are happy to oblige. My rice is always hot and delicious, full of an awesome variety of veggies, and eggs. The portions are large for the price. The guy who usually takes my order, etc., is not too talkative, but you can tell that they care about the food they prepare. I ordered four-star curry rice one time, and he was concerned that it might not be hot enough, so he told me when I picked it up that he'd added an extra side of red chili sauce. This review is based solely on take out, I've never eaten inside the restaurant, but based on the service and food I receive, I would imagine that eating inside would be just as tasty and good.

If you're looking for a reason to be in Auburn, Washington, this restaurant will help. Wow. I like hot food, but Koong Thong Thai Cuisine's three stars was a scorcher. Good food, good service. Weird ambiance.

Environment leave a bit for improvement (stained ceiling tiles, don't look up!). Someone said, "The Best Thai Food in Auburn"? I think they might be right! (I haven't found any better in Auburn). Reminds me of Chili Thai in Kent. Food was good, fast, and reasonably priced. Who can ask for more? (Other than a new building to house such a treasure!) Too bad my lunch buddy hates Thai food (as does my wife) otherwise we would be "on" for the lunch buffet!

  • AlyxandraMonique S.

The location is pretty far out for all you North Seattle people. I wasn't fond of the food here, simply because I felt sick and nauseous right after I had finished eating. I ordered the Pad See Ew and Fried Rice. It was very unfortunate that I was terribly sick after coming here.

  • Jackie K.

Love the owner and the food. Meals ordered from the menu are great, the buffet is very generic and plain, but still good. They make awesome pad se ew and larb. My favorite restaurant in Auburn, great Thai food.

  • Brennen L.

I used to love this place. My first review is posted below. They introduced to my first Thai food experiences and for that I'll always love them. That being said, I've found much better Thai food places and I'm pretty sure they put catsup in their phad Thai. You can always go to Fed way or Renton for better Thai food. Still the best Thai spot in Auburn but that's because it's the only one. Drunkard noodles, Panang curry! This is my 2nd favorite Thai restaurant in Washington, I had Thai for the first time here over 10 years ago. They have a great lunch buffet to. Service is consistent, and the owner is super nice. If your in Auburn I highly recommend this restaurant.

    (3)
  • Marissa T.

The drunken noodles are decent, but the curry was just so-so. The curry portion was small and did not have any of the regular vegetables I am used to seeing at other Thai restaurants. A very small place with decent Thai food, but not a stellar menu or ambiance by any means.

    (3)
  • Kristina G.

Best Thai in Auburn! =]] Love the Yellow Curry and Pad Thai

    (5)
  • Bill B.

Don't let the outside appearance fool you. It's a small little place in Auburn but the food is great. Stuff runs a touch on the hot side so maybe get 1 star less then you might at other places.

  • Daisy P.

Good food, friendly service, nice atmosphere. Public tv on the large screen :) My kind of place. Not many people when I came in; I like little places like this, enjoyed supporting them.

    (4)
  • Brandon N.

Food was Good but couldn't eat it because it was to spicy. If you don't like really really really spicy I suggest not choosing a 2 for how spicy your food is or they just messed up and gave a higher number.

    (3)
  • Jeff J.

It was good....enjoyed the Tom Kha Kai

    (4)
  • Urvashi P.

Super delicious food! Lots of fresh veggies and everything was extremely tasty. Portions are huge and prices are very low. Must try. We had larb, satay, mixed veggies w shrimp. Outstanding.

    (5)
  • Daniel A.

Best thai food in auburn. Have tried the currys and pad thai, never been disappointed. They are quick and clean, owner is quiet and doesn't say much but still a cool guy. Be careful though when choosing spicy level, stick with a 2.

    (5)
  • Ashley M.

All that is in curry is bamboo shoots! No fresh veggies or meat! The menu is ok. It does get very spicy. But it is just junk food. No fresh veggies. Everything is fried or junk. I had red curry with shrimp. Shrimp isn't fresh it was frozen and there is WAY too much bamboo shoots.

  • Kristen C.

Amazing food, better prices! My husband and I had an amazing meal and were out of there for under $30! Can't wait to go back! #21 with scallops is my new favorite meal!

  • Amanda S.

This place has the BEST yellow curry!!!!!

    (5)
  • Mae D.

I came to Koong Thong due to the fairly good reviews. Even though most of the reviews were raving about the huge portions of the Pad Thai or how delicious the Yellow Curry was, I decided to go for my craving and stick with Green Curry. I ordered my food to go. At first, I walked in and the door "slammed" due to the winds and everyone looked at me. I was pretty embarrassed but I didn't realize how heavy their door was. Second, I didn't get a friendly reception at the counter at first, but once the first people waiting for their to go order left, the guy at a counter was much more friendly. I think they were busy when I first walked in. I ordered my Green Curry with two stars... I should have remembered my "new thai restaurant spice rule: always order one start to see what it's like, then move up if you feel it's not hot enough the next time you order". Well, I got home, sat down and started scarffing my food down like I've never had it before. It was soooooooooooooooooo good! It tasted just like it did anywhere else I got it, and all those times I was pretty pleased with the taste. About 5 minutes into eating my dish, my tongue started to burn and my lips felt they were on fire! I guess I haven't had anything real spicy in a long time. All in all, I'm happy with this place. It's literally right behind my Dad's house with whom I visit quite a bit. I think this place is perfect if I'm ever in Auburn. Next time, I think I'll go for the Pad Thai... :)

    (4)
  • Dane G.

"Hole in the wall" describes this place perfectly: not pretty to look at, great Thai food incredibly cheap, friendly service. Limited beer & wine selection. Note when selecting the 1 - 5 spice level, they run very spicy.

    (4)
  • Jamie H.

My boyfriend and I have ordered from here several times. The food is good, but the level of spicyness is inconsistent. I always order a 1 because I have geographic tongue which affects my ability to tolerate spicy food. 2 of the 3 times we have ordered here the "1" has been as hot as the 3 my boyfriend orders. It's close to home and tastes good, but unfortunately we won't be ordering here anymore. I should add that we have tried specifying the issue to give them a chance to fix it and were told we get what we get. Not great for service.

    (3)
  • Chris M.

Still 5, sorry I spelled Pad wrong. New chili pepper makes the 5 a true 5 and 4 pushes the envelope, hope they keep using it, but be careful when you order!!! So hot, so good!!!

    (5)
  • Jacqui W.

My FAVORITE Thai restaurant!! I absolutely love the curries, I just can't get enough. I usually go once or twice a week :D

    (5)
  • Rocci H.

If you want killer thai food with large portions this is the place. I have eaten about everything on the menu, and it is all authentic thai. If there is ever an issue with an order, it is taken care of promptly which I really respect. They never overcook the fresh veggies and they are always crisp and fresh. If you want overcooked or steamed veggies you better go somewhere else. The exterior is that of an old Taco Time, and the inside is not the Wild Ginger, so if you want killer food, then this is the place to go, 5 stars is 5 stars here, so if you want kick ass balls out fire, this is the place. To me it's all about the food and I do take out 95% of the time vs. dine in, and It's always hot when I get home, and that's a 15 mile drive, so kudos to them.

    (5)
  • Jess W.

It doesn't look like much from the street, but I absolutely love this place! Best Thai that I've found within 15-20 miles... and we've tried probably all of them over the years. The garlic chicken is my go-to, but everything we've tried has been excellent and reasonably priced. It's flavorful, the meat is lean, the produce is fresh and it's all skillfully cooked. The owner is very friendly. We've been going there for four or five years and never received bad service. The average wait is 10-15 minutes for 2-3 meals. Our only complaint (besides that it isn't open Sundays!) is that my husband's not a fan of the pad thai, says it's too plain.

    (5)
  • Chet F.

$8 buffet. All old food, not all warmed through. Nothing is $6 as other reviews state. Starts at $8 a dish. Junk Thai food , nothing in comparison to good Thai. Won't be back

    (2)
  • Ko T.

As far as the food, this is the best Thai restaurant Western Washington has to offer. My parents from Southern California even love this place. Nice owners too.

    (5)
  • Lana S.

Despite the smelly, dumpy interior, Koong Thong serves great Thai! Just order to go. The red curry is great.

    (4)
  • Cynthia A.

We just moved here from Baltimore and were excited to find a Thai restaurant so close to home. I ordered the Pad Thai and my husband got the red curry. We both loved our meals and had plenty for take home. We'll definitely be back!

  • Monica P.

I tried take out here a few nights ago while I was in Auburn dog sitting. I ordered chicken phad thai and tofu red curry. They didn't have brown rice, so I made my own. The place isn't much on the inside, but it's clean and comfortable looking. The service was friendly and prompt and the prices were very reasonable compared to what I normally pay. About a $1 cheaper per dish I would say. I ordered both dishes 5 star and was impressed to find that they were actually a real 5 star. Lots of places do not make it spicy enough for me. Whether as an industry thai food places are dumming down their spice, or whether they see that I am a white girl without an ounce of south east asian in me I don't know. However, I liked that I got a true spiciness. The red curry has lots of veggies and a nice rich coconut milk in it. I'm a little scared to eat the left overs, since spice intensifies in liquidy foods. But I asked for it :) The phad thai came with a red sauce, which I usually detest and assume it is made with ketchup. However, I really liked their red sauce, I don't think it had any ketchup in it and it was tasty. I would go back if in the area.

  • Tammie H.

This place is realllly good and affordable. It definitely passes my 3 criterias: price, quality, and quantity... Large portions for cheap price and extremely tasty. When we used to live in auburn, we would go here all the time! now that we've moved, we dont come here as much but still go out of our way to come here when we are craving for some thai food. Their pad thai and red curry are the best!

    (5)
  • Brittany T.

I work near this place and go there maybe twice a month to get the beef pad see ew. It is so flavorful. It is always the right temperature, and never too spicy. Every time I order to go, my food is waiting for me when I get there (piping hot!). It's really hard not to eat the whole dish...

    (4)
  • Dan E.

Good solid Thai food. Nothing special but we enjoyed it as a family. Reasonable pricing, good portions. Do takeout though- the restaurant stinks.

    (3)
  • Michael G.

Good food at a very excellent price. They will make it pretty hot, although I would rate it at 4/5 stars of heat, max. Still, it's tasty and the portion sizes are large enough to share. They are speedy and friendly. The building is a former Taco Time, so you get an idea of the size of the dining room, and it's in an unfortunate location since the City of Auburn did the remodel of Auburn Way, but it's worth the inconvenience for some pretty darn good Thai. I like the ginger, the red curry, and the garlic (all are $6). Friends like the phad thai as well. It's worth a little drive to get here.

    (4)
  • Jolene D.

People are saying this is the best thai restaurant in Auburn. I went here with my family. The portions were good and the food was okay. My dad was scared of Thai food initially. That I can't explain without raising some brows. The food was sort of bland for Thai food and it was pretty average. The ambience was terrible but they did okay with the old restaurant. Our waiter was nice but the food was sort of terrible. It isn't the worst thai food I've ever had but I'd rather go to Frugal's in that area.

    (2)
  • Cindy B.

I don't get out this way often, but this a place I really should visit more. Excellent pad Thai, if you see the fresh spring rolls sign stop. They are huge and incredible. In fact be prepared for huge portions here. Good, fresh, spiced Thai. Love it

    (5)
  • Igor V.

Ordered food today to-go and could get home fast enough to eat. Some how I got home and food smelled so good. I ordered Larb beef and it was good. Very flavorful. Best Thai food in town. My friend is from Thailand and he recommended me to go there . Next time I defiantly going there again.

I love this place. Nice folks, quick service... yummy red curry, Phad Thai, Drunkard Noodles...

  • Mike D.

had really bad food don't recommend it to anybody

    (1)
  • Christina K.

GREAT PAD THAI! AWESOME DELICIOUSNESS THAT MAKES MY TUMMY SING! I don't know about the other food they got but I have always come here when I wanted chicken pad thai. Like Leanna A. I usually get my food to go. The two times I didn't it was fine just rather take it home and pig out. The prices are good and the quantity is great! I think their fried spring rolls are pretty amazing too! Gotta go! .. For the pad thai!

    (4)
  • Annette D.

Excellent Tom Kah Kai! Got it 5 stars. I like it hot! Great service and value for the meal. Nice Buddha in the lobby with a big belly to rub :) Would def return. The decor may not be for everyone, but hey, I'm going for the great food, not for a 5 star posh hotel sleep over.

    (4)
  • Amber N.

I want to know who thinks this is best Thai food around because you are sadly mistaken. I had the massaman with beef while my table mates had the sweet and sour chicken and the Garlic broccoli beef. My dish was oily, the meat was tough and the veggies were super crunchy. Very little flavor and the spice didn't taste right, more than a little stale. I think the only thing that was good was the rice. Not being from the area I can't say where you can get good Thai in Auburn but this is not the place to go.

    (1)
  • Ken S.

Pad thai and pad see iew were not bad, but I think the pad see iew at banyan tree is much better.

    (3)
  • Cyrus A.

I really love this place. I've been a resident of Auburn for 7 years, and decided to check out this Thai restaurant since I drove by it every day when getting home from work. I love good Thai food, and Koong Thong has it. I get their Phad Thai at least once a week. All of their curry dishes are delicious too (yellow is my fave). Don't go here expecting great decor (i.e., Indochine in Federal Way), or highly charismatic service (i.e., Emerald Thai in Des Moines), but do expect great value for your dollar. This is a family run business that takes pride in their product! If you want to try out the buffet, I'd recommend it too. I don't know anywhere else that has a bucket of amazing peanut sauce that you can draw from with a ladle! Very indulgent if you wish to have a Thai food binge.

    (4)
  • Nam N.

Decent food for really cheap! Possibly cheapest Thai restaurant I've ever been to in WA.

    (3)
  • Maria A.

It's ok since its the only Thai spot in auburn way. I ordered pad Thai, egg roll and Thai tea ended up having $28.00 bill,I was surprise when I had another food came out that I didn't order. I wish they listen more when customer order food, I even said my order twice to the guy.

    (2)
  • Lando W.

First time here...very good! Drunkard Noodles is very tasty. The employees are nice; demonstrated awesome customer service.

    (5)
  • Olivia S.

Rather shocked at the good reviews this place had. The Pad Thai was just a clump of mooshy, flavorless noodles. The atmosphere is bad, but the service was good.

    (2)
  • Kristen C.

Sadly disappointing. After reading such great reviews we thought we would give it a shot but was disappointed in the Thai tea, fish cakes, red curry and pad thai. Food was plenty spicy but missed the mark on flavor and freshness. Hopefully it was just an off night.

    (2)
  • Ronald T.

Good beef panang and pad thai.

    (3)
  • Shirley O.

I ordered the chicken Panang Curry to go and it was delicious! I just wished it had a few veggies in it. The people who worked there were very nice and my order came out quickly. I didn't stay to eat because I don't like eating by myself in public, but the restaurant looked clean and the tables were set nicely. Next time I come back here, I'll eat in.

    (4)
  • Danielle G.

You have to go visit the chefs at Koong Thong, not only do they have high quality customer service but they provide the best food for the money. I am constantly stuffed up to my neck in panang curry and I wouldnt want it any other way. They are smart with their business and thats why i keep going back. I live in tacoma and I will drive 25 mins just to have some amazing thai!

    (5)
  • Seth M.

First visit to this place. Love it! The exterior looks not very appealing but wow the food is great, service excellent and we will be coming back. What a great find thanks to yelp reviews! This is a must if you haven't been already! Yellow curry chicken was great, sweet and sour pork was really good and the padi thai was perfect. Got three stars on spicy, was a tad warm but not bad, will go two stars next time. Thai iced tea was soo good but didn't last long! Think we found a new fav!

    (5)
  • Tara D.

Been awhile since Yelp has led me astray. This place is creepy dirty. Probably would be a good thing for the health department to make a visit. Go somewhere else cleaner.

    (1)
  • Lil-ee H.

The only place I eat when in town. Fresh, delicious, fast, great family owned place. Great portions, always leave with lunch for the next day! Noodle lovers will be happy, the wide rice noodles are jut the right texture.

    (5)
  • GG A.

Good food at a good price sums it up. For under $10 you will fill your stomach and have leftovers for the morning. All the curry dishes are excellent. I have been going to this place for about 15 years now and have never had a bad experience. Five stars for consistency of great food over the years.

    (5)
  • Israel M.

My go-to Thai spot for lunch in Auburn. The owner seems super serious all the time and his face would probably crack if he smiled but the service is always decent. Their lunch buffet is a great deal for the price but make sure you get there early before all the good stuff is gone. They usually have chicken wings, Phad Thai, a Chow Fun dish, and some other stuff. My favorite dish here is the Phad See Euw...4 stars. Curries are decent. I haven't actually had a bad dish yet. It's your typical hole-in-the wall asian joint with good food. You certainly won't come here for the ambience but the food is grub.

    (4)
  • Jean P.

Sometimes, I don't get Yelp reviews. This restaurant is mediocre at best. I was going to go for the lunch buffet, but looking at the buffet cart and not knowing how long the food has been sitting out, I decided to order a la carte. The curry has no vegetable or thai basil, just pieces of chicken swimming in a curry sauce. The sauce was bland. The service wasn't attentive and the place was not clean.

    (2)
  • Brandon L.

Been coming here since I was 9 years old, now 23 I still love it to this day. My personal favorite is their green curry and the owners of this place are very nice, disregard these reviews that say they are not...

    (5)
  • Chenyao X.

The food was so so for me, and I grown up in China, so I guess I have a picky mouth than Americans. I had the pad noodle and it taste nothing special. It only have several choices of noodle/rice. Actually only 2 choices for fried rice. My friend and I waited about a hour for our food and seems like all the other 6 people waited for that long too. The food was not good enough for the one hour wait. There are no enough salt/pepper/sugar on every table, and the cups are greasy. Would not go there again unless I got take out cuz it seems like they cook for take out guys first.

    (2)
  • Jasmine R.

Very good food! When I arrived, I was really questioning whether the reviews were legit because the parking lot was empty and the building looked sketchy. However, in this case you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. The food was very good.

    (5)
  • Eury L.

Don't let the building fool you, the food here is delicious. My sister and I shared the pad thai and the drunkard noodles, both were flavorful and portions were good. When deciding keep in mind that 3 stars is PLENTY spicy, my sister and I both love spicy foods and we both were constantly reaching for our water glasses. Service is friendly however once seated and served you probably won't see your waiter again.

    (4)
  • Ruby P.

Horrible pad Thai Oil everything Really bland just plain noodle n tofu and egg I had the dad sauce myself By tofu was burnt Noodles were raw in the middle Would rate it zero if I could! Spring rolls and pad Thai Lunch = $16.65 how much would dinner cost ? Dirty place

    (1)
  • Sara F.

Coming from Seattle, we were apprehensive but the food is great. Great tofu dishes (can get any item with tofu even though not on the menu). One caution: don't get the wine. Better to stick with water or beer.

I been going here since they opened back in the 90s, replacing the Taco Bell that was located there. (Did like that Taco Bell too, but that is more due happy childhood memories and parents being happy) So, this place was my first taste into Thai food back when WA did not have a Thai Huts every 10 blocks and Chinese places still provided delivery service. The place is owned by a nice mid aged bald dude and his wife and kids. Due to my parents being good patrons for so long, my family are like second cousins to them, so we get happy greetings and my wife and I constantly get asked when we are going to have babies. Service tends to vary in speed depending on how busy they are. This is a small family run joint with usually only two staff working, so during peak hours, a wait might be needed, but is worth it if you can be polite and watch the always playing Thai channel playing baseball or whatever on the large TV. Decor: The exterior has had better days. Still has the original Taco Time adobe shape, but repainted. Inside is nothing too special, about two main eating areas a large main area, and a small 2-3 table area near the restroom. Place is mildly decorated with Thai brick a brac, and has a nice fishtank, through again it has seen better days. At least, they no longer have that fake fish tank in which a plastic seahorse was stuck to the bottom and my sister and I always mentioned how it "died" a lot Food: Is wonderful. I have had pretty much everything off the menu, so from the curries to the noodle dishes, to Basil whatnots to the soups. I am happy with all. I am a big fan of their Pad Se Ew, sometimes it can be a tad sweet, but 90% of the time it is divine. Also, I like their Todd Mun fishcakes, and their satay is as good as it gets. Portion size is reasonable and prices standard with seafood options being a buck more. This place tends to serve more American influenced Thai, so no Gai-Lan or Bitter Melon etc, but it is great for what it is and what it does. Location: Located on an intersection near the highway 18 inter-pass on Central Ave SE in Auburn. Ample parking, across the street from a Burger Teriyaki joint and a Pho Hut. Easy to get to. Nothing really special about the location really. Back in the 80s this area of Auburn was more happening, but now is kind of "just there". So overall, I love this place. Maybe it is not as refined as the "Banyan Tree" sort of new-age Thai place, but it has a good "home cooking" taste and feel to it and I will be coming here for years to come.

Best Thai food in Auburn. I love this resturant. It is a family owned business, husband serves and wife cooks. Not usually crowded and very fast service. They have a lunch buffet which is great for a first timer, it gives a taste of everything. The price for dinner is fabulous, $6.95 for a full plate. My favorite dish is the red curry and the drunkard noodles. The coconut lemon grass soup is amazing, be sure to put rice in it. I'm not a fan of the pad thai at this resturant, but they have great peanut sauce. The Crab rangon is the best appetizer. I love this place. The family is a little shy at first, but they warm up to you if you are polite. If you are impatient, the one person server may not be your cup of tea.

  • Leanna A.

My *favorite* Thai place. The food is yummy! We've eaten here hundreds of times, and have tried most things on the menu. Our favs are the musamun curry, yellow curry, and the pad si ew. We do usually do take out, as the atmosphere is a little funky.... sports tv, half empty fish tank, little scary bathroom. But I will say when we eat here, the service is slow but very pleasant.

    (5)
  • Jody A.

Worst red curry and yellow curry chicken we have ever had! There was no brown rice either. We've been to a bunch of local Thai places but this one was the closest to us, so we tried it and were not impressed at all.

  • Annie K.

Maybe if the guy behind the counter could get off his phone the service wouldn't be so horrendous

  • Jamie F.

I have been to a few thai restaurants and this has got to be my favorite! The owner is very friendly and remembers you. The food is delicious and the 4 star can actually be considereed a 4 star! Portions are good too. Pannang Chicken is the best I have to say!!

    (5)
  • Debbie M.

I came here because of the Yelp reviews....I am traveling again & rely on Yelp...in this case I was a bit underwhelmed....portions were large...flavor was fair, service was ok, ambiance...well let's say this is a Dives & Diner's kind of place. We had the BBQ ribs....not what I expected but they were tender, crispy, tasty...but they were more like short rib pieces than the spareribs I was expecting...we ordered the curry med...way too mild for my liking, flavor was good...not great. Service was good. Not some where I'd recommend or go back to...but it was good enough for a lunch on the road.

not super fancy, but extremely patient and nice staff. Pad Thia was a bargain, perfectly cooked and chicken was of respectable quality. Not much else to say, basic good Thia. No pickled peppers, but they did chop some fresh side of Thai chile peppers on request.

Amazing Thai food! One night my husband and I were craving Thai food but having just moved to Auburn we didn't think there was anything near. I used Google on my phone to find this place. It's definitely a locals' favorite! Another time I went here to pick up lots of food for my family's non-traditional Christmas celebration and ended up asking a lady who was waiting for her food what she recommended. She had some great recommendations as she said she's been going here regularly for several years. They are so pleasant, the people that work here. My favorite dish is their green curry. Just a warning though, it can be very spicy some days.

Many Many years ago I had a friend bring me here to try thai food for the very first time! I know love it and go to many different places but nothing seems to compare to koong thong! Love them and whenever I am in Auburn I always pick some up! THeir pad thai is my fav!!!!

This restaurant is the best!!! I love their giant-sized portions of Pad Thai. I've eaten at many different Thai restaurants throughout Washington and this is the only place I'd drive an hour to eat at. One thing though...don't go to their buffet. The food seems watered-down and not as flavorful.

Less than average food, slow service and the prices were too high.

Great food and excellent service. My husband had the Pad See Ew and I had the Pad Thai, both were delicious. Two stars were plenty for spice. The owners were very accommodating since we came 15 minutes before closing. Overall nice experience.

Every time I've come, I've had decent Thai food. Last time I ordered the chicken pad Thai, three stars. Tasted more like a 5. Very spicy, a lot more than usual. Service is terrible. Very dirty and gross atmosphere. I believe the server is the owner. Very quiet and gives off an attitude. It's close to my work and you get fast service. Would I come again? Maybe, but not my first choice for Thai food.

There's certainly nothing "new" about this place; wood paneling and extremely yellow walls that look like they snuck out of a Mexican restaurant. When we entered we were told to sit anywhere and noticed only one other patron. There was one man working in the place and when he came over the first time we immediately ordered spring rolls so I could decide on an entree. My boyfriend is a Pad See Ew fiend so he had already decided. The next time we saw him was when he brought back the appetizer, but he couldn't take our order then for some reason. He eventually came back and I ordered Pad Thai. They use a heat index of 1 to 5 stars so I got mine at 1. Let me tell you they do not mess around with their spice - I may be a wuss, but my mouth was certainly burning more than I expected. And my boyfriend's dish at 2 out of 5 stars (he's used to 4 or 5 out of 10) was also spicy for him. The redeeming quality here was the TASTE of the food. A little oily, probably from the chili oil used to spice it up, but really delish. Maybe next time I'll get the take-out, so we don't have to wait around for the poor service. And 0 stars for my dishes, which sounds ridiculous but will be the only way I can enjoy them.

When my boyfriend and I first started dating I suggested Thai, and he staunchly refused to go anywhere I recommended. This was because he had eaten here. After a few months we finally stopped in, and I now understand his stance on the matter. The food here is AMAZING! I have loved everything I have eaten here. I especially recommend the ginger chicken and the masuman curry. The food is quick, delicious, and reasonably priced. You can also call ahead to order take out. Delicious!

My friends know that I'm a see ew and fried rice fiend. My girlfriend and I both agree that the flavors for our meals were great. She had phad thai. Usually, in California, I would get 4 stars out of ten. My girlfriend would get no stars, or one stars. She shared the fried rice that we ordered 1 star. It was hotter than my usual 4 star. Before you jump on my review, I understand the math. 1 in WA=2 in CA. Still, it was very good even though the heat. The service was something different. We sat and were one table of three. The others were single people. As other tables showed up, our server was way behind. Not greeting tables for up to ten minutes. Another patron, I assume that usually works here, got up and started busing tables, running credit cards, and serving food. Her family and friends sat while she worked. She occasionally came back for a sip of her beer. All in all, we enjoyed our experience. Will order down on our stars and will probably just order it as take out from now on.

The best authentic Thai food in South Puget Sound! The best value also. The owner isn't very talkative, but he does provide the best service. They also have an all you can eat lunch line during the week. It typically consist of pad thai, vegetable stir fry, chicken wings, rice, and a coconut milk chicken curry. Not much of a variety, but very inexpensive.

Stopped by as we were in the area and craving Thai. Place was empty since it was a really late lunch for us after a day of shopping. Customer service was a tad on the 'meh' side, but I didnt expect anything stellar. I'm used to going to Asian restaurants where the service was either too much in your face or nonexistant. I ordered the drunkard noodles with chicken, four stars. I got what I asked for because it definitely had a spicy kick. And I LOVED it! Food was tasty. Huge portions for $7.95, no complaints here! My friend ordered Satay Chicken , which her one year old daughter devoured with a side of steamed rice. My friend ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, which wasn't bad. Overall, I'd go back again and try other dishes.

I only got picked up food from this place, but it felt like a nice cafe kind of vibe. I got the Pad See Ew with Tofu. I love the taste -- all the ingredients were cooked perfectly, though it was way too spicy for 2 out of 5 spice rating. I think the total came to $8 or less (not including tip), which is definitely cheaper than other places. I'd come back if I lived in the area.

Very authentic, so stars are accurate with level of stars, be careful with your heat. I believe this restaurant is catered by two brothers. The food we ordered with 3 stars: drunkard noodles, fried rice, basil beef. From the beginning it was enjoyable, they sat us down and gave us good suggestions on what items went well together. So much food, the portions are huge!!! We had 3 take out boxes extra. The best part of this restaurant minus quality of food are the prices, where else can you get dishes for under 8$! Fabulous place and we are excited to become regulars.

Passing through, decided to stop and let the traffic pass. Delicious food and great service and good prices. We'll definitely be back.

Great Chicken Pad Thai, but order 1 star less spicy. I get 3 stars anywhere else, but 2 stars here. The taste has never disappointed us and we eat here regularly!!

Since my friend has tomato allergies, I called ahead to ask if they have "traditional" phad thai. (Most thai restaurants have both). The man who picked up said "We have whatever we make here with our special sauce." I kindly asked if they put tomato or ketchup in their phad thai and he said rudely, "Yes we do. Why don't you just go to Thailand if you want traditional," and hung up. Seriously? That has to be the worst customer service ever and I haven't even stepped foot into the restaurant. Real phad thai is made with tamarind sauce, not ketchup. Plus my friend has allergies. I never want to even give this restaurant a try after that. So disappointing.

Came here because of the reviews... They were right. Being from out of town, I really needed a good place for lunch. I and my family are huge Thai food fans, ever since I toured SE Asia. This restaurant is easily in the top ten for authenticity for Thai food places that I have tried in Washington. I will make this a definate stop any time I'm in Auburn.

First time here and probably my last. Wasn't all that impressed with their lunch buffet. If your on a budget then maybe it's your thing but I'd rather pay more for better food. No desert selection or drinks.....

The food was only average, at best. The chicken did not taste fresh. They were out of shrimp and no spring rolls on a Thursday evening at 5pm. This was our first time to this restaurant and I will not recommend this restaurant to friends and family. Keep looking for a good Thai restaurant and just bypass this one.

Can't believe I haven't jumped on and wrote a review. After living in the area for 10 years, the daughter and I decided to try this little hole in the wall. (reading Yelp reviews helped too) As our family are Thai food lovers, this place is right up on our list now. All great food (haven't tried everything) and close by our house. We usually have the Yellow Curry, Cashew Chicken, and the Sweet & Sour. YUM! The stars tend to be on the high side, so we like just 2 stars, enough for a bit of a sweat. The owner is great and knows what we want now. We will keep coming back !
