I've been going here for over a decade, keep up the good work. My girlfriends son, who travels all over the us, says this place still has the best General Tsao' s chicken. We go on a regular basis, great for office lunches, everyone gets something they love. Friendly service.

Kung Pao - with shrimp String beans - with pork Wonton soup (We actually ordered egg drop, but that's what we received) Fried Rice - with shrimp Mixed veggies - with chicken That's what we ordered. Overall food was good. Flavor was tasty and maybe a bit too oily. Service was fine.. ...until I asked for chili paste. One of the sons. (i'm guessing?) gave me a small plastic container.. (2oz probably) which was maybe half full.. and I told him we have 6 ppl.. and that we're THAI! He goes back.. and says "i'll fill it to the top". SERIOUSLY? We spend $60+ and you're gonna be cheap about chili paste? I even tipped $5.. prior to this incident.. but I guess that really doesn't make any difference. Way to screw up a customers experience. I was really considering putting fewer stars; however, I don't feel it's fair for one persons mistake to fall on the entire business. Like I said.. the food was still pretty good.

For the only Chinese food restaurant in the Valley, they could give horrible service and mediocre service and people would still go there.. BUT THEY ARE SO NICE HERE. They are very kind and nice people without that nasty attitude you get at most restaurants in the area that act like they are doing everyone such a HUGE favor. The service is prompt, the food is well wrapped, timely and prepared when you call. You don't have to stand around and get treated like a leper because you are ordering takeout. I would love to give them more stars, even their pricing is good and portions are not cheap.. But some of the dumplings are too gooey and there is just a little too much sauce on everything, other than that they are great and grateful for the business you give them!

I think just about every town I've ever lived in or traveled through has had a restaurant called China Fun. I can't complain. The name promotes positive associations with that country as an entertaining (if not always delicious) place. Waitsfield's own is located in the same shopping center as Mehuron's supermarket (well priced, locally owned, great wine shop in the back), a small natural foods store, a lovely little bookstore where we bought a Leonard Cohen CD, and a dog grooming place where we did not have our dog groomed. I'm internally conflicted about how to review China Fun. By "real" Chinese food standards, China Fun is not terribly good... In fact, it's sometimes kind of awful. The wrapper on the steamed dumplings is thick and gummy, there's a tendency to oversauce with gloppy brown stuff. It's stereotypical small town Chinese American food. But I would be lying if I didn't admit to finding some of it to be pretty enjoyable. Since I wasn't expecting anything very authentic, I went all out gringo and ordered the egg foo young (off menu). It was a bit of a greasy sponge, but also had a healthy array of vegetables imbedded in the egg and came with a pretty decent brown sauce that didn't taste as though it were straight out of a jar. My SO's mooshu pork was also vegetable heavy and surprisingly not too greasy. The mooshu pancakes were thin and well-made, I think in house. And though the chicken and rice soup was more rice than soup, the broth was actually quite flavorful, not just "chicken" colored liquid thickened with corn starch. It makes me suspect that the restaurant might serve up some good soups, a specialty of Fujian province from where the very nice folks who run the place hail. Portions are generous and the prices completely fair, especially for a ski resort town. There is barebones diner-style seating in a room off to the side. While China Fun is certainly not destination dining, it is a good change of pace from all the sandwich shops and pizza joints that dominate the dining scene in the area. If it's just a quick, inexpensive and decent meal you want after a long day of skiing, and you don't want to wait in line for hours to eat at American Flatbread, you could do much worse.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
