Dammit. We came back to give this another shot as the bagels were tasty and possibly the service was abyssmal because we came during the busy winter season last time. NOPE. Service was still dissmissive and rude. Quick, cheap, and if you don't mind being treated like you just shouldn't be there, then by all means make the trip.

WE went to this place when we were in Stowe on 4th of july weekend. It is a typical bagel shop with many varieties of bagels and bagel sandwiches. I got egg, cheese, onion , pepper and bacon on onion bagel while wifey got a onion bagel veggie sandwich w hummus. The bagels we not bad at all and pretty nice and soft . everything looked hand made in the shop and nothing that was out of the packet or a freezer. I am not sure about the egg though. overall it is a decent place to get bagels for breakfast and lunch and you wont be disappointed.

I know my bagels bring from NY and this is a good bagel! And for Stowe the prices are reasonable. I do find the counter staff sometimes terrific and sometimes terrible. The ladies making the food never are friendly to us. It's worth a visit!

Any time I'm in the Stowe area, I try to frequent The Bagel, as it's good for a modestly priced, yet very satisfying sandwich. Their bagels are decidedly above-average: not the best I've ever had, but still quite good. What really sets the place apart, though, is the quality of the bagel sandwiches. Whereas bagel joints frequently use lower quality meats and produce, everything here tastes fresh and delicious. I typically opt for grilled chicken, Swiss cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and spicy honey mustard on an everything bagel. So good that I'm getting hungry now, just thinking about it! Reasonably priced, too! Less than $7 if I recall correctly. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the mood for a quick, yet satiating lunch.

Good bagels, had a reasonably priced SEC/Everything Bagel, ate the whole thing. They have cards for breakfast/lunch sandwiches where your "13th sandwich is free!", and other similar cards that I missed. Service lost a star..

Wanted to get something in our bellies before a day on the slopes! The receptionist at our hotel recommended this place.. Average breakfast sandwiches at a decent price (much cheaper than you'd pay on the mountain).. We came on a weekday, place was not very busy..service was extremely lacking..we were very polite but made to feel as if we did not belong..the women behind the counter were rude and cold.. I'd skip this place the next time I'm in town.

Was ok... Make sure you ask for condiments if u order an egg sandwich, they wont give you ketchup unless u ask. The bagels are "ok" but I didnt feel like my everything bagel had " everything" - seemed like it was mostly sesame.

Great bagels at a great price. I had cinnamon raisin with cream cheese. Awesome coffee....I had Italian roast. Highly recommended.

Not sure Nescafé counts as espresso :-( The barista let us know this is not Starbucks and she is sure right it's not even close it's gas station coffee at best...

I came here on a weekend trip to Stowe and thought the bagels were wonderful (coming from a New Yorker). They had a great selection and I am just obsessed with the Cranberry Orange bagels. I was so happy that I had to come back to Stowe a few weeks later to take care of something, and The Bagel was my first stop. The only negative is the service can be bad.

The bagel sandwiches are under $6 and they are very quick in the morning. Bagels n lox was very delicious and much better than my usual mcdonalds run before skiing. Great spot for a quick bite before skiing

We were in Stowe for the wknd. Our inn did not serve breakfast so we found this bagel place and absolutely loved it! Great selection of bagels.....Including pumpernickel! Yum! Friendly staff. You serve your own coffee which I appreciate. Definitely recommend!!

If you like friendly people and good customer service, go elsewhere. Cashier was horribly rude. Flies crawling all over pastries and no one working there seemed to care. Great location. That's about it.

They are open early and the man at the cash register was super friendly. Though, the ladies yelling out when the orders were ready seemed less so. The bagel and coffee were both good, fresh. The service was fast. However, they put an obscene amount of cream cheese on the bagel. So if you want less, make sure to ask. I probably scraped off more than half of what they put on there. Good food, fast service, decent price. I would recommend for a quick breakfast.

surprisingly good bagels, even for this guy who grew up in nyc. the place runs more like a sandwich shop, but the bagels were good and if ever we are back up here this will be on my breakfast list. i had an everything bagel toasted with butter and it was decent.

Four stars because I got a great bagel and smoked salmon in minutes when the restaurant I tried to go to (McCarthy's) was way too busy on a Sunday morning. The Bagel was just across the parking lot and did the trick. The jalapeno cheddar bagel was very fresh and very spicy. Even though it was a puffy bagel (not the wonderful skinny Montreal bagels of a mere 80 miles north), it was chewy enough to indicate a serious bath before baking. Fresh and funky full of friendly Vermonters.

If you need a quick, easy, tasty breakfast; look no further! The bagels here are good, and the staff is very friendly. When I went the coffee was fresh and delicious, and you really can't beat that with a stick. Plus there were girl scouts outside selling cookies. Bagel and some Thin Mints? Yes please!

Meh. I guess in a town as small as Stowe I shouldn't be so picky, but you know when you wake up in the morning and all you want is a fresh cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich? Well, maybe you don't ever feel that way, but I sure do! And this place looked like it would fit the bill, but fell short with the whole flavor aspect of life.... They have tons of different types of bagels that can be made into any type of breakfast sandwich, but their pumpernickel bagel really was not pumpernickel in the least sense, and it was hard! Not like it had been toasted too long, but like it was OLD. They barely put any peppers on my breakfast sandwich, and my onion bagel was also pretty darn hard! I don't want to have to put forth that much effort that early in the morning to eat a bagel. I just don't. And especially if it doesn't even taste that good. At least the eggs were cooked well in it. There were a ton of people here (good morning people watching I say ha), but then again there aren't too many other bagel shop type places around here, so I guess they don't have to strive too high here in the breakfast to go world. Oh ya, and their coffee wasn't good either. boo.

Let me start by saying that I'm a NYer and probably more picky about my bagels than the next person. We have a ton of good bagel places on Long Island, but I'm always willing to give an "out of town" bagel a try. This place is TRYING, but falls short. First of all, the service is slow. Everyone was pretty nice behind the counter, but there was a long line, and I can only imagine it's a lot worse during ski season. The selection of bagel flavors was pretty good. The pricing was ok. My bagel sandwich was really, just.. meh. The asiago bagel was dry and crumbly instead of doughy with a slightly crunchy exterior. The cheese was slightly burnt. The eggs for the sandwiches were all cooked in the microwave. The best part of the sandwich was the cheese on the inside. My advice- skip it!

yummy yummy breakfast for a day of snowboarding. We drove around searching for a breakfast place & finally found this small bagel shop. For a native NYer, the bagels here aren't bad -- not the best but good. I loved the New Yorker - salmon, tomatoes, onions, & capers. It's so good that we came back here the morning we left just to pick up 2 more. We had another selection - I forget what it's called - but it was with sausage & cheese. It was pretty mehh -- the sausage lacked any flavor.

Good place to stop for quick breakfast before hitting the slopes and grabbing something on the go! A nice variety of bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and coffee. Bagels were soft and fresh!

Not a bad place to grab a bagel sandwich (or bagel in general). Its sort of what you'd expect of a generic bagel shop. I had perfectly fine service, polite, nothing memorable. I would certainly go back if I was in the area and in need of a quick breakfast, but it lacked anything to draw me out of my way.

Good bagel had breakfast sandwich was a little blah. My daughter had a muffin ands really enjoyed it. Would come back and try one of the cream cheeses they have.

A good option for some quick breakfast before you go shred. Bagels are tasty by themselves, or with classic egg & meat, but become very expensive. Coffee is adequate and the line moves in a timely manner. Worth a try when you are in Stowe for some food on the go.

Stopped in for breakfast before a big day of skiing. The staff is very friendly and the bagels came out fast. I had the Early Riser and my husband had the Late Riser. Both were delish and kept us full all morning. The only downfall was the tight seating but that wouldn't deter me from going again.

Nothing special about this. Expensive for what you get

The place was full of flies and they were all over the bagels. It was gross. I asked the lady wearing glasses behind the counter of she would grab a bagel from the bottom of the bin, thinking it would be less likely to be touched by flies, and she rudely responded "I don't make the sandwiches you will have to ask the girl at the other end." Needless to say we will not be back. It's dirty and the employees are rude.

Great tasting bagels. Easily confused staff. We were told slicing our bakers dozen bagels would cost extra and that they didn't have a slicer! Really?

I bought a town pool gift certificate..and tried to use it today. it expired 10 days ago.. The OWNER was very rude and shaking his head at me, and not speaking in a very good tone to me..I paid for this certificate, either I get the bagels or I should get my money back..This place does not have a very good rep. for customer service. THe owners put their employees in a bad mood. Here is a note for you sir! If you cant be friendly in the business world to YOUR customers then maybe you should be out of business! I will NOT recommend your place to anyone that I come across, and I will make sure that everyone knows NOT TO GO THERE! Ps...Rumor has it is the owner has a nickname..THE BAGEL NATZI (like the soup natzi from the t.v show Seinfield"

Super yummy bagel sandwiches and friendly service! We're always looking for good places to grab a bite after riding before our 4 hour drive back to MA, and this is a perfect spot. I'd much rather have a late lunch of one of their fresh sandwiches than pay $25 for greasy pizza and chicken fingers on the mountain!

This place is decent to grab a quick bagel or bagel sandwich. The reviews that mention the service are spot on. Every single person that works here is so rude, makes you not want to give them your business. This place is 3 stars, but gets 2 because of how unwelcoming they are.

Not bad. Not Rosenfelds. Not Bagel Land (horray NY!), but definitely not a bad option. I never really like to get too far away from a good bagel, so I was glad to find this place. Had a hummus "bagelwich" for lunch on Sat. Holy garlic batman! Tasty none the less. In any case, if you've strayed too far from the NY border and end up over in VT, this place will tide you over until you can get further east (or south). Mmm!

Best bagel sandwiches in all of Stowe with an array of options!

A serviceable place for cheap breakfast in pricey Stowe. Several tables for eating in but they were messy and crumb-topped and hadn't been cleaned in a while. Many options for breakfast sandwiches, but no different or more original than a Bruegger's or Finagle. Staff seemed flustered by a request for a last-minute substitution.
