Fake eggs in the pre made breakfast sandwiches, over priced SKIMPY deli sandwiches, and angry deli staff. Oh and don't even bother asking for an Italian sub the old man behind the deli just gets angry And starts throwing things around. And for The now red head short girl don't even bother telling her if something is wrong with your sandwich because no matter ...what your wrong. Don't waste your time you will be highly disappointed with the deli staff and the over priced skimpy sandwich.

The perfect one stop stop for your trip to Stowe. Whether it be tolietries, booze, pre-made food, coffee, drinks, etc. you can probably find it in here. Whether summer or winter, my fiancee and I always stop in for something; during our last summer we became addicted to their hot, pre-made breakfast sandwiches and my fiancee also found these spicy pretzels and jalepeno chips that we are still jonesin' over. The sub we bought for lunch for our hike up Mt. Mansfield was fantastic as well and we've just stopped in countless times for a beer or wine run. Plus, the older couple that seem to run this place are just really nice folks.

Great sandwiches and very friendly. My favorite is the #1 -pastrami, cole slaw, 1000 island dressing on rye.

Supermarket brand cold cuts and bad bread. Credit card machine is dialup and slows down the line. This is anything but New York style deli.

We were a little skeptical when we saw the sign that said "Stowe's #1 Deli". But we were really pleased. Very reasonable prices for adequate servings, wide variety, good bakery/dessert items, quick service. The place is well organized and offers efficient service. Well packaged deli snadwiches. We saved ours for a picnic later in the day and they were well wrapped and easy to eat.

The BEST chicken salad and tuna salad. Great place to stop for lunch. Very friendly service, they have yummy baked goods as well and a ton of local products. I am a local and am there at least once a week.

Best deli in Stowe. Get the Brisket sandwich with horseradish, a cup of meaty chili, and a sweet sensation bar and you will be happy...very happy.

After living in NYC for nearly a decade, my impression of what is great deli food is maybe more than a bit picky. This, however, is pretty good deli food. You need to make sure to ask for toasted bread if you don't want your sandwich falling apart all over the place. They have the usuals, but also some local specials. We usually go there for desserts (ask what they have fresh, but the whoopie pies are the best). The couple of sandwiches we have picked up were fine, just not amazing. I think it is more just a matter of knowing what you want and making sure you ask for it. The service is hit or miss, depending on who you get and how busy it is. However, like most of the Stowe chill I run across in the service folk in this town, I find a smile and a funny quip get you a smile and good service in return.

After having a terrible experience buying Alchemist's iPA down the street at Stowe Beverage, which included self-imposed purchase limits, a clerk who acted a fool, and an ambiance that rivaled any tacky liquor store in New England, we headed to Edelweiss Mountain Deli. We were told that for an upcharge, we could buy unlimited supplies of the IPA...important because my sister, a Vermonter, had requested the beer for my brother-in-law's 40th birthday. The aroma of the deli was enough to make us enter, and the amount of Alchemist IPA was impressive. We purchased four of their four packs and paid three dollars more than at the cannery/brewery, which was out on Saturday morning. After our experiences down the street, we were more than willing to pay the upcharge in exchange for courteous service and the general lack of power-hungry attitude. In addition to our beer, we purchased some obscure Vermont food items and a little lunch. All was enjoyable. If you're swinging through town, especially on a quest to purchase some of the elusive Alchemist IPA, stop at Edelweiss. Support a small business that keeps its customers happy.

I only gave this place one star because I couldn't give it none. This place boasts that it is the number one deli in Stowe, and if there is another deli in Stowe, then the Stowe deli situation is quite deplorable. When I ordered an egg sandwich, the deli man grabbed a pre made one that had been sitting in the warmer and re-arranged the contents to fit my order. My buddy ordered a roast beef sandwich, and when he asked for cheese on it, the deli man actually removed some of the meat that he had already put on it. I am left assuming that the abundance of roast beef in this town is only second to manners. Both the man working the deli and the lady behind the register were so non complacent that it was rather rude. I felt as though I was disturbing them by visiting their establishment. The lady couldn't even be bothered to move the paper she was reading in order for me to place the items I was intending to purchase on the counter. I know that locals in these small resort towns look down on the tourists that give them a reason for existing, but at this deli I felt that they made this point abundantly clear. I would only recommend this place to masochists who enjoy bad food and lousy customer service.
