If I could give zero or actually NEGATIVE stars I would. I'm a bartender and it isn't hard to tell when someone new sits at your bar and needs service. The bartender walked by us literally FIVE times after we said "hi, excuse me" to try to get her attention as she paced back and forth in front of us with nothing to do multiple times, not to mention we had MENUS IN FRONT OF US READY TO ORDER... the other 2 people we were with sat next to us and were served right away; I told my boyfriend if we got ignored one more time after asking for service I wanted to leave. The last time the bartender walked by us was with a coffee in her hand. I know we're from out of town but that doesn't mean we deserve to be ignored. I was hungry but NOT hungry enough to beg you to serve me..... Absolutely ridiculous. Please go somewhere else if you're considering eating here. Don't give the Backyard Tavern a CENT of your money, they don't deserve it.

Awesome bar! Great place to go for a drink or two with friends. Great fireplace and the people are nice. There are games and pool tables for entertainment, best bar in stowe by far. They have snacks but not exactly dinner food, great place for after dinner and the rest of the night!!

I can't believe I'm the first to review the Yard! The Backyard is where most of my nights out in Stowe end up. It's a great place to chill, use the jukebox, sit out on the big covered back patio or play some games. The latest addition that we're loving is Beer-Ball. This skee-ball classic is so fun to play, especially in our new method - blind. I've never scored better than I do with a hat pulled down over my eyes!

This bar is my favorite after-work beer spot. Hands down. The bartenders are pretty chill as well. Dennis who runs the joint is the man!

Total dive bar that I loved! The bartender was super friendly and allowed my friends and I to have control over the big screen tv and didn't mind our obnoxious singing to the jukebox. It has pool, skeeball, corn hole. And great outdoor seating area. There is food that is standard bar fare, not gourmet, but good and greasy. Plus, it is one of the few inexpensive places in the area.

We loved this place! It's a local place. The wings with Dennis's special sauce are outstanding! Fresh cut fries. Dennis was the bartender. He is so nice! Highly recommend this place
