we stayed here last year. the rooms were small but clean. and the breakfast was great. yet there was something deeply disturbing about our stay here, which is why i am writing this review almost a year later. one night my 3 friends and i hung out in the the basement common room. we each had approximately one beer with us. (mind you, we are 30 years old). as soon as we opened our drinks, both owners ran down the stairs and forced us back to our rooms, stating that we were "violating the no private alcohol policy in the common areas (unless you purchase a $25 bottle of wine from their lobby) ". how did they know this you might ask? we looked up and noticed a small ***video camera** on the ceiling of the basement that they were clearly watching us on. this was a frightening violation of our privacy, that i definitely wasnt expecting from such a cute and seemingly quaint vermont b and b.

Do yourself a favor and NEVER stay here. As a regular Vermont visitor (20 days/year+ for work AND business), I can say I am a VT regular. Stay at Golden Eagle right in town, they're nice, courteous and will let you reschedule for another weekend if something comes up--I wanted to try this place for a girl's weekend trip to hike as something fun and new for me and my friends. Never, NEVER again will I stray from Golden Eagle. Oh, and if you happen to have a uterine cyst rupture unexpectedly and have to be in the hospital for surgery, they won't let you change weekends on your reservation (even though they had vacancy other weekends) but they charge your credit card IMMEDIATELY after booking and will NOT refund you/let you change even though they have other weekends/rooms available. We clearly didn't anticipate a medical surgery in our future and we WANTED to stay an Arbor Inn, it was like this guy didn't even want to work with us to be able to attend--"I can fill this room over and over again." Well, if that is the case, why not let us change our reservation so we can try your place and maybe RETURN in the future?! We don't just come here for leaves changing color! We are all-season visitors. And the owner said, "You should have called sooner." Next time I "plan" to have something rupture in my uterus, I will definitely keep that in my mind.

Had a wonderful stay! Clean room. Comfy bed. Very helpful innkeepers. Good vibes. It felt like staying with friends. Highly recommended.

Stayed here during a fall foliage trip through Vermont. It's pricier than what we were looking for because we were on a tight budget, but the owner worked with us to lower the rate when we said we were looking for something cheap. He showed us alternative places we could stay, which we left to look at, but we came back because it included breakfast, and since there were few cheap restaurants in the area it made up for the cost difference. The room wasn't fantastic altogether, but the bed was large and comfortable. It had all the necessary amenities for the price. The lobby is large with a fire place and wine/bar, which you can pour yourself and pay on an honor system. The highlight was the breakfast, which came with a selection of omelette with maple bacon or skillet and plenty of fresh fruit, and orange juice, tea or coffee. The chef came out, described every ingredient in the food and talked up each table. I would definitely go back if in the area and recommend to others.

This was my first cross-country ski trip and Vermont really cooperated. The Arbor Inn was a great place to stay, located close to the lifts at Stowe. Complimentary breakfast was fantastic and served by very cheery staff who were extremely accomdating of our very late arrival. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with instant hot water that felt amazing after a long day of skiing. I would definitely return.

cute, clean, spacious rooms + close proximity to all the skiing action + complementary and delicious breakfast + this crazy betty boop statue in the lobby = lovely long weekend vacation

Very nice and tidy place. Felt like I was staying at home with some one cleaning up our messed up beds and hanging the clothes properly when we are not there inside the room. This place is run by a elderly couple, and they really take care of their visitors. Also I would like to mention special thanks to them, as I had left my favourite Michael Kors with my passport inside it at their dining room, and they managed to send it to me by next day via post.

I really enjoyed my stay here! They're super friendly and gave us coupons for the places around us! I personally liked the rooms, it has a homey feeling to it and the beds are quite comfortable too. The decor is really nice adding it's own unique flair to the room. The breakfast was very very good, it won me over during my stay here! Overall, I recommend this place to anyone staying around the area here!

This is about an off-season summer visit. Great breakfast, one of the nicest beds I've ever had in a hotel and very friendly & helpful staff. But the room and the bathroom are small, the outdoor pool is cold & not very clean, you have to make a reservation to use the hot tub (it is not busy they just keep it locked) and there are little signs EVERYWHERE with little rules. It is not that the rules are hard to follow, it just feels like having a nagging mother.

So defensive, it was OFFENSIVE! Weird room, with hodgepodge layout and random furniture. Crammed with furniture, of the yard sale, hand me down variety. The defensive part was the signs/scolding notes throughout the room. Jeez! "Towels are dingey because we do our own laundry", surcharge if you stain " good towels"? "Shut windows if you turn on AC"? Seriously? Stop the nagging by proxy! You run a small biz. We get it. Margins are tight. BUT, your over priced rooms aren't worth a higher rate. AND, you are in the HOSPITALITY biz. Sometimes it's just part of the biz to accept guest faux pas, and be hospitable. If you can't, maybe just run an eatery, not an inn. That said, in person, the inn keepers are personable and friendly. Breakfast was above par.

Fantastic! Can't wait to go back! My husband and I just spend a long weekend at The Arbor Inn and it was amazing! Breakfast was great! We stayed in room #9, which has a hot tub for two in it and a wood burning fire place (they also have a hot tub out back). Great room and can't wait to go back. Cody and Michael are the best hosts. They were funny and helped us enjoy our evenings with great conversation and laughs. The sitting area downstairs is a wonderful place to have a glass of wine and relax by the fire while chatting with Michael and Cody. If you are going to Stowe, then The Arbor Inn is the place to stay. Hands down, they are top notch! Room Tip: Go with room #9 or the romantic room at the other end of the second floor. They both have fireplaces and hot tubs in them.

Great breakfast and adorable rooms! Michael and Cody have a real knack for hosting guests at this adorable little Vermont inn. Our room had lots of New England charm and was cozy and comfortable. We were giving excellent suggestions for things to do, places to eat and drink, and discount coupons, when available. We are looking forward to staying at the Arbor Inn again in the future.

This place is horrible. Completely overpriced and not worth a penny. The rooms are outdated with little storage space and icky linens. They have been reported to bedbugregistry.com for bed bugs and their bathrooms are not what I would consider "clean". They have rules posted all over the rooms on what you can and can't do. They charge you as soon as you book the room which sucks in case your plans change and you may not be able to get it all back. I would never stay here again.

This place is wonderful, cozy and affordable. If you want a place with a good breakfast, great owners, some cute animals and a quite stay, come here. The owners renovated a bit and there's a hot tub, a pool table, a bar and fireplaces in certain rooms. We've taken lots of ski trips to lots of places but never have I hugged the owners when we left. This is the place to go if you want a good place in stowe, don't expect luxury but expect a nice home feel.

We found just what we were looking for at the Arbor Inn. It is a relaxed atmosphere B&B that was perfect for our ski weekend - one of the closer accommodations to the mountain. The breakfast is a full-on (and filling) start to your day complete with eggs, bacon, cereal, yogurt, toast, home fries, fresh fruit, juice and coffee or tea. Definitely not a chintzy spread. The format is motel style, which makes for easy entry and exit with ski or outdoor gear. The rooms are somewhat dated, but well cared for and clean. It's clear Cody and Michael take great pride in their work and their inn.

For the price it's a very good standard. The room was clean but little stuffy, nothing an open window for 5 min didn't fix. Bathroom was very clean with lots of goodies. The location is excellent close to lots of tourist activities not just skiing. If I ever return to this part of the world I'll be open to come back. The hosts speak Spanish, if you need it ;) I would say the highlight of our stay was the very friendly service and the breakfast which was amazing. Fresh fruit, juice, very good coffee. You must try the Maple glazed bacon. Wow it was great!!!
