    It's just a bit too easy to drop $100 or more for dinner for two. And let's be honest, that's just silly-money for pizza. If you're going to charge $15 for an individual pizza, how about throwing in a side-salad? Nope - small salads average $9 each. And when the pizza doesn't fill you up, you'll be charged for extra bread too. Drinks and apps are just as pricey. I have a hard time understanding why this restaurant is so popular when there are much better options available in the area for half the price.

    I loved the atmosphere here and the music was on point. All my companions at dinner devoured their pizzas in no time. The only reason I gave three stars is that I go the burrata pie and it didn't meld as much as I wanted. My friends rushed the ordering process so I didn't have an ample time to purist the menu as much as a I wanted. It had too much cheese that the crust got soggy and there wasn't the balsamic drizzle on my pizza that the menu had suggested would be on it. None the less, the crust was amazing and I would definitely come back to try another pizza.

    Wonderful place. We ate there for the first time based on yelp reviews and once again, yelp does not lie. This will now be my restaurant every time I'm in Burlington. Atmosphere was lively and family friendly but still date like enough for us who had a rare evening without children!! The pizza was perfection. Crust was thin and chewy and honestly the best I've had in a long time. Wish I could have tried more of them but plan to next time. My rocket salad was good but nothing special and would have liked some more veggies on it. I enjoyed my wine although wasn't too impressed but generally I don't love typical Italian wines so that's all me. Service was pretty good, not amazing but nothing to complain about. Just wish we had been checked on more frequently as I did need more wine and wanted it with my pizza. This place is a must.

    I had dinner for first time at Pizzeria Verità yesterday--the atmosphere, food and service were absolutely amazing! Upon entering, there was an immediate feeling of warmth from the friendly and welcoming staff. The interior space is beautiful with an excellent attention to detail. The food was incredible! I ate with a group of about 12 (most of my photos are of my plate--not the untouched food arrival at table). Here's what I tried: Antipasti Verdure--Absolutely delicious. The bread had an amazing flavor--amongst the best I've ever eaten! Insalata Colorata--The beets, avocado and citrus are a perfect flavor and texture combination. The way they prepared the beets was very memorable--I enjoyed this salad quite a lot! Salsiccia E Funghi--Delicious! Sausage and mushrooms--I could've eaten the whole pizza myself it was so good! Margherita--Classic and delicious. Bianca--Interesting combination of arugula and prosciutto, and very good. Capricciosa Vegetariana--Very good mix of veggies and flavor. Pizzeria Verità has a perfect combination of an amazing atmosphere, fantastic food, and superb service. I can't wait to go back again--the only downside is I can't order everything on the menu in one visit!

    I've been terrified to write this review. Frankly, I'm not sure there exists a combination of words that can accurately express my affection for the place. The quality and consistency of the food and drink, the warm and friendly service and the inviting atmosphere are all so far beyond reproach that it seems ridiculous to even bring it to measure. But I wish them all the success in the world, so here are a few of what I've found to be life-changing best practices. First: Order antipasti with mozzarella. I don't care what else you get with it. I also recommend the salami and roasted mushrooms, but the mozzarella is a must. I know that sounds crazy. Mozzarella is not usually a remarkable cheese, but this is made fresh every morning and has a magical texture and flavor very different from anything your grocer has. If you're reading this and lactose intolerant, you have my deepest sympathies. Second: Ask your server about the pizzas, then watch the light in their eyes as they gush about their experience. It's really endearing. If you can't decide, then just forget what you think you know about pizza and try the Maize. Third: Save room for desert. It's a hard and sometimes impossible thing to do once you start packing away the goodness you've been presented with, but do it. Later, a hot pan on the stovetop will restore your leftover pizza to good as new condition and you'll feel like the smartest person in the world. And last: Meet a beautiful girl there over dinner; someone who takes your breath away and makes you want to be a better person. This step is totally optional, but I highly recommend it.

    Authentic Italian wood oven pizza. I've had better in Italy, but i've also had much much worse. Verita's pizza is truly good and at the top of the heap. Thin crust. Creative, fresh toppings. It's the sort you order one of for yourself or split with a friend and share some of their great anitpasti. Very fresh bufula mozzerella, yummy prosciutto. Amazing salads. I hear the bar drinks are good, too. Friendly staff. Nice owners. Easily one of my favorite eateries in Burlington. I'd give it a 5 stars without blinking if it weren't for the desserts being several cuts below the rest of the food :) My biggest complaints about this place are the noise (bad acoustics) and the desserts (I hear they are trying to improve, but as of the last time I went they were weak, other than the fact that they make a nutella pizza, and hell, nutella makes everything good). Another complaint would be the long lines that occur throughout the weekends. But hey, there are long lines for a reason!

    For those that are interested in thinner and healthier pizzas, this is the place to go! It's all local ingredients so it can be kind of expensive! It's perfect for celebrating a date night, a birthday, or some kind of acceptance/award. It's a great atmosphere and good food. I would suggest you make a reservation by calling them first! They tend to be really busy so making a reservation at the earliest point possible is the best suggestion I have for you! Last time we had a group of about 8 people and thankfully we had a reservation or we would have been there for an hour and a half or longer!

    We popped in on a Sunday evening around 5:30 or so. The establishment is located about a block from the lake with plenty of on-street parking nearby. Walking in we noticed it is casually upscale with great décor. The hostess quickly seated us at a table near the front windows. They maximize the space for additional seating like many restaurants in Italy so don't be surprised if you are seated more closely to the next table than is customary in most American restaurants. The server was very pleasant and knowledgeable and took our order quickly. Sadly, the Arancini (risotto rice balls) were listed as a special appetizer but were not available. We will have to return for these little balls of goodness sometime in the near future. We ordered a Caesar salad instead and was pleasantly surprised at how great the homemade dressing was. The salad was fresh and is large enough for two people. For our main course we ordered the Quattro Formaggi (4-chesse) pizza and added locally sourced fennel sausage. Our wood fired pizza arrived hot and it was delicious. It is a 13-inch pie and the toppings were plentiful and the cheese was exceptionally fresh (they make the mozzarella in-house). The basil leaves and red sauce complimented each other very well. The crust was traditional Italian and had a great bite and chew to it. It exceeded our expectations. For dessert we ordered the Tiramisu. Wow... The presentation was 4-star, the ingredients were house-made and it was killer, plus, it was more than enough to share for two. I was intrigued by the Limoncello that was listed on the menu as being homemade. It was some of the best I've ever had outside of a little Italian restaurant in Edinburgh Scotland called Jollys (literally made by a little-old Italian grandmother). The Limoncello was fresh, served appropriately chilled and was a wonderful finale to a great meal. My wife and I will definitely be returning to Pizzeria Verita in the near future. The service was friendly and very efficient, the atmosphere was pleasant and the food was wonderful. Well done indeed...

    So aside from the 45 minutes wait, the service wasn't great and that is why I'm giving it 4 stars. The food was delicious especially the Tiramiso. The Canoli was only ok but not amazing. I would still come back as the pizza options are great but a little pricey.

    Pizza places are always hard to rate -- unless you're a fan of terrible delivery, by-the-slice, or frozen pizza it's almost guaranteed that one at an actually decent place should be far better. Verite doesn't disappoint in that regard -- a good selection of pizzas, fresh ingredients, the salads are great, good wine list, and the prices are pretty decent. They have a great selection of appetizers as well. The atmosphere is what puts this above many other places locally for me -- a classy interior that's not pretentious, quite homey. Additionally the service there all three times I've gone has been top-notch -- efficient, friendly and for the two times we took our young daughter, an excellent place to bring little ones. Great place.

    After coming back from a trip to Italy last month I thought I would never find good pizza again but man was I wrong! Best wood fired pizza I've had in Burlington (yes I've been to Flatbread). I ordered the funghi rustico pizza and the margherita pizza with sausage and eggs added on and they were awesome. Will definitely be coming back here often!

    Phenomenal Pizza w/ Wholesome Fresh Ingredients! Salads are A+++! (and i dont usually say that about salad) Although this place is pricey, I do say it's worth it (and I'm frugal.) PIZZA: It's nearly impossible to find pizza of this quality in the country. A lot of their pizzas have fresh salad-type ingredients (like fresh arugula, proscuttio, etc.) on the top, like you'd see in Europe & Australia. The dough is out of this world on the regular pizzas. The gluten free crust is thin, but the best i've had in any Pizzeria. SALADS: Salads are larger than you'd expect and easily a meal in themselves. I ordered the Pear & Candied Walut Salad - please order this, it's incredible and i've been trying to imitate it ever since :) Don't hesitate to come it. Its incredible, and I will be back on my next visit :) Note: Atmosphere is very loud because the place is compact.

    We came here for dinner #1 on my birthday (we're gluttons) and had the rabe and VT hot sausage pizza. Holy moly, that stuff was good. It was literally the best pizza I've ever had in my LIFE. The broccoli rabe was perfectly cooked, the crust was phenomenal, and the sausage was a gift from the pork gods. The owner of this place, John Rao, is an amazing human being. He was just so kind and charming (and handsome)-- when I mentioned how amazing the sausage was and asked if I could purchase some to take to Boston with me, John came out with the recipe (!!) so I could attempt a feeble recreation at home. John Rao is the reason I'll find an excuse to come back to Burlington to eat at this wonderful restaurant, not the pizza (as wonderful as it is)!!

    The stars say A-OK but I am pretty meh about it, though I can't warrant only giving it 2 stars. The pizza itself is good. The atmosphere is favorable. The ambiance is a bit too upscale for what is basically a pizza place. I don't mean to lump it in with Manhattan Pizza, Ken's, or places like that but if all they are serving is pizza, it seems a little too posh for me. I also found it to be a bit expensive and felt like I was paying for the posh ambiance more so than the pizza. The menu is a bit elitist and I'm not sure one gets a full pint for $6+. I don't want to slam the place. I had a fine time there. I just think for the money I'd rather have had something different. I'm not opposed to going back and probably will but it wouldn't be my first choice on most nights. I find it to be more of a real housewives of Shelburne place.

    I make it a point to eat here every time I'm in Burlington even if its by myself. It's that good. I've had a bunch of pizzas and every single time they nail it. My favorite is the Arugula and prosciutto pizza, it's what I crave when I crave wood fired pizza. The apps are also fantastic and always very fresh. The caesar salad with the fresh white anchovies is my favorite caesar salad and always ask other restaurants if they have white anchovies just because you guys do it but am disappointed every time because no place comes close. I have brought many colleagues and clients in for dinner and every time I get the pat on the back for another great dinner suggestion. Thank you guys for always delivering a consistently amazing experience. See you next time I'm in Burlington!!

    This was our first meal during our trip to Burlington and it sure delivered! Pizza was delish, as were the antipasti. The tiramisu is also the best that I have eaten. We had no problem finding a seat at the bar (despite it being a busy Friday) and received excellent service. The owner, Mr. Rao, is very personable and takes great pride in his place. We would highly recommend Pizzeria Verita and would come back any day.

    Gotta say - exceeded my expectations in every way. We went in after the movies - salad, pizza and a couple of glasses of wine. Great service - was friendly and helpful - not concerned that we weren't eating a big meal. Great pizza, great cheese. Oh, and the nutella pizza thing my wife ordered..... yeah, that plate was clean when we left.

    Flew in from Chicago and some friends took us here for dinner. We really enjoyed this dinner with our friends. The craft cocktails were really great. We got 4 pizzas for the four of us to share: Bianca, Brussel Sprouts, Quattro Formaggi and the Funghi Rustico. They were all delicious. We also had a dessert pizza: Pizza alla Nutella. So amazing!! Our wait person was very nice. The atmosphere was perfect. It was casual but you certainly didn't feel like you were at some fast food place. It was a *nice* pizza place!

    I came here on my mission to find the best pizza across the country so waited an hour and a half because of the wait for this pizza but I was not disappointed! They have very nice employees and an amazing pizza with a crust that goes through a three day process, first rising, second put into balls, and last being refrigerated. This process is totally worth it because that crust was heavenly next to the homemade fresh mozzarella and the tasty tomato sauce made in a 999 degree, 6000 pound wood fired oven that makes the pizza in 90 seconds. I got a tour of the room where they make the fresh ingredients by the owners of the restaurant after a delicious free Nutella calzone dessert, and I will come back next time I can!

    The pizzas and salads are very tasty, but I would also add overpriced and small. The restaurant wasn't that busy, but our waitress ignored us pretty much the entire time. One of the owners was present, an older man, and he was yelling at the staff the entire time within clear earshot of customers. It was a little distracting.

    Awesome food. It's pricey but worth it. If you love thin crust, authentic wood fired pizza and quality toppings: this is the place! They have great salads too! Great wine selections. Great place for any occasion. It's busy and hard to get into unless you go right when they open. Warm and friendly staff and kid friendly. They gave my son some dough to play with at the table. Very sweet. I wouldn't hesitate to go back or recommend. Now I'm hungry thinking about their food!

    FOOD POISIONING --- BEWARE I have eaten at Verita numerous times and always enjoyed the atmosphere, staff, drinks. However on a few occasions I noticed the center of the Pizza's being underdone. I gave it no further thought as it seems to be how they like to prepare it. That all being said. I went to Verita the other evening and had their Mushroom pizza and was poisoned within two hours. For 24 hrs I vomited extreme disgusting sickness wreaking of Verita and bad food. We called them to let them know that a case of heavy food poisoning resulted from their food. The girl on the telephone offered little sympathy and did not offer any type of reimbursement. I called back today only to be told they do not offer refunds regardless of the health issues resulting from their spoiled food. With this they have lost me as a customer will no longer receive 150$ out of me for dinner most months. ------ Avoid this place at all costs. I have the disgusting spoiled leftovers in my refrigerator and plan to get it tested to determine exactly what caused this horrific poisoning. In order to file a complaint with the health dept. Verita - Honor your customers. Don't ignore a serious food safety issue. At least offer condolences.

    Nobody does this type of pizza better, I've tried the most inventive and delicious pizzas here that I would be afraid to try elsewhere. I have never been disappointed. Love this place and would eat here more often if I had better coping mechanisms for carb overload. Do yourself a favor and get the nutella pizza for dessert, no matter how full you are it will be worth it.

    I love the food at Verita. It's amazing. Their antipasti where you can choose 1, 3, or 5 choices is glorious. Their fior di latte (sp?) is so delicious I could eat that alone, but since their rapini, baked goat cheese, and caramelized onions are all so delicious I don't have to! Their salads and pizza are also outstanding. I see some folks complaining about the prices, but I would rather have locally sourced, made on site food and pay a bit more for it than eat food off the Cysco truck. My only complaint is their service staff is very young. I would love it if a place like this had a roster of professional servers which it definitely does not. We exclusively sit at the bar as their bartenders are exquisite, clearly very experienced and are very well informed about the menu, the spirits, the beer and the wines. It doesn't feel like the servers are as well informed and experienced. We go there with great frequency and will absolutely continue to do so.

    incredible food and even better service. Couldnt be happier having this cozy date night spot in burlington. I am always happy bringing my boyfriend or work friends here for a bite and a late night drink. The waitstaff is always friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Pizzeria Verita could teach a few other local establishments a thing or two about how to run a successful restaurant.

    Great high quality gourmet pizza spot. My wife and I sat at the bar, which turned out to be a perfect spot. The bartenders were great and super friendly. We got the sausage and mushroom pizza (with spicy house made sausage) and the ring of fire pizza, both of which were quite spicy , but not over the top. All of the ingredients were really fresh, including their homemade mozzarella. Crust was also perfectly chewy and crispy. To top it off, they had three italian craft beers on tap, which is pretty rare. They offer a tasting flight of all three for about $9.

    Is this town big enough for two gourmet pizza restaurants? They bring two completely different products, but ultimately pizza is pizza. Pizzeria Verita serves a more traditional Neapolitan pizza to Burlington, but it lacks the creativity and execution that American Flatbread achieves. The menu has a lackluster number of topping options. They're mostly similar to one another with each pizza having one additional ingredient from the preceding one. The toppings are skimpy and used sparingly. For example, fresh basil really means two single leaves of basil on the entire pizza. The pizzas are personal-pan in size, which is fine except I wouldn't want to pay $15 for it. Our pizzas took forever to arrive. We were seated within 10 minutes, but we waited almost an hour after ordering. You have a wood-fired oven; I imagine it's around 800-900 degrees, which should cook a pizza in less than two minutes. It really should not have taken that long. And when it did come, the crust was over-charred. There's a difference between a blistered crust and a burnt crust. Burnt is inedible. There were some positives to take away from Pizzeria Verita. The first was the dough. It was really good dough and comparable to some of the best Neapolitan pizzas I've had. The mozzarella was also very fresh. I was also impressed by the space, which was previously occupied by Bistro 156. The layout was more open and the atmosphere was lively. If I had to choose, I would probably go to American Flatbread for high-end pizza, but I wouldn't rule out coming back to try their Nutella dessert pie.

    Huge fan - great service (most of the time), decent beer selection (super mixed drink options), and the best wood-fired pizza in town. This space has seen a lot of tenants over the years (and I go back to the Blarney Stone days) but this one is a keeper. You won't get out too cheaply unless you share a pie and a salad (which makes for a pretty great light dinner) but it's worth it. A local gem worth trying. If you've got a sweet tooth, don't miss the Nutella pizza dessert. It's sinful - but incredible.

    Veritas is absolutely the best place to get pizza but also overall the best place to eat. Period. Ingredients are extremely fresh and pizzas are creative and amazing. The atmosphere is energetic, the drinks delicious and don't even get me started in the Nutella desserts. Anyone who is a fan of goat cheese MUST try the Mista Salad. Words cannot describe the taste. I love this place.

    Since moving to Vermont from New Haven, Connecticut, the biggest disappointment that I have had about this great state is the abysmal state of her Italian food. From thick crust dough, sauce, and cheese masquerading as "thin crust" pizza to other disappointing pasta dishes at supposedly highly-thought-of institutions, I have been extremely underwhelmed by a state that has otherwise greatly exceeded my culinary expectations. As such, I was impressed to find out that Verità was making pies in the Neapolitan style that inspired New Haven style "apizza." Über thin crust baked in a wood fire at absurdly high temperatures? That's pizza. So, despite being slightly dismayed at the prices of personal size pizzas, Verità greatly exceeded my expectations. Not only is the service friendly and attentive, the wine list is extensive, Italian, and rather reasonably priced. Most importantly, the pies, although pricey, are amazing. They remind me of the finest New Haven pizzas I've ever had minus all the grease, and that's a good thing. The list of pizzas is creative and extensive, and there is a pie for everyone. And, although my inner miser still hated paying $16 for a personal pizza, I only ended up being able to finish 2 of the 4 slices, meaning leftovers and a much better value in the end. The dessert tiramisù is good, although small, as well. Highly recommended if you're looking for something more than a greasy slice of way too thick crust "pizza."

    This was an outstanding experience. Our server was extremely professional, knowledgable about the food and drinks available, and suggested multiple items that really capitalized on our group's dining experience. We were a party of 5 and had a fantastic meal of 3 pizzas to share: Margherita Pizza: Outstanding! But a little light on cheese (not necessarily a bad thing). Bianca: was awesome! Balsamic Vinaigrette soaked into the crust. Can't remember the last pizza, but I promise it was great! Not terribly expensive for how classy it is! Also, try the long trail exclusive called Quattro. Amazing beer!

    Got the traditional Margherita pizza. It was very good. Love the ambience and the wood fired oven. Not cool that they charge you $3 for every small ice tea you get. Its definitely a little overpriced for what you get but overall I liked the food and experience.

    Pizza is pizza...right!? Well not always, their wood fired pizzas are delicious and they have some incredible options for toppings, I just wished they added new options or changed their menu a little more often...especially with all the great sources for food here in Vermont. The atmosphere is nice, however it can get very tight in there and some people might have their butts in your face while you are sitting at the table trying to eat, and they are standing waiting for a table. Their drinks are amazing, if you are mojito fan, I suggest you try the green mountain mojito that is made with maple syrup! Be careful tho...they go down VERY fast!

    My recent visit here was a surprise, what an awesome pie! Been in NY for so long I'm hesitant to eat pizza in different town, but glad I took a chance! My sweet cone pizza was simply delight! Service was fast and friendly, we had large group but they accommodated us so great. I see only 3 stars...VT yelpers must be really serious critique!

    This place is incredible. Not only is the pizza excellent, but the place has a great atmosphere, great location, and very good service. I have enjoyed almost every meal I have had there. I like going there before a Flynn show or just like that for a fun evening with my daughters or friends. The pizza is the very very thin crust type so if you like a thick bready crust this place is not for you. The topping are very varied with my favorite being prosciutto. I add it to almost every pizza I order. I typically do not get appetizers here as the pizza is so delicious. YES...I eat the whole pizza myself. I have seen people buy 2 or 3 different types and share. That works too. I have had appetizers but since I like to eat the whole pizza I can pass. They also have great bartenders and usually have a featured cocktail. The oven is cool and if you ask you can get in there and see how it works. The owners usually walk around greeting guests which I find very welcoming. Great for a date night or even with kids.

    Beats flatbread, hands down. Sure AFB is fun for a group, but I want something closer to Naples or even Punch! from Minneapolis. Whenever people from out of town come for pizza I send them here over flatbread. Better charred crust, higher quality buffala and a greater variety of ingredients, fig and speck and seafood.     Really enjoyed the selection of pizza and wines at Verita. Crust is thin and very moist with some crunch to it. The topping are interesting and a bit different from the competitors nearby. The salad and antipasti selections are also very good, although my Caesar Salad was somewhat bland. I found the service to be efficient and very friendly as well.

    Simply outstanding if you like a soft flatbread style pizza. This is just exceptional the 20+ times we have been there and will continue to go. Always packed so either go early, have a party of 6 or larger to get a reservation or go late. We have loved all the many options of pizza on the menu as well as special pies and the salads are good size and great tastes w/all dressings made in house and the nutella dessert is wow if you like chocolate hazelnut spread in pizza dough, wow! They even have a photo of the dessert. Some say it is pricey, we don't think so.

    I have only given 2 stars based on the absolute worse Caesar salad I have ever had....and it was $9.00! It was basically a box of lettuce with only one anchovy placed in the center. The menu description should have read, a box of lettuce, one anchovy, and a small wedge of cold bread. To top it off, one third of the romaine either had brown spots or had wilted tips, which I am pretty sure they reserve for take out orders only. Believe me, if we had dined in, I would have sent it back the second I saw it. We have had so many other positive experiences at Verita, but this was a complete disappointed. Not sure we will ever return, definitely not for take-out.

    I finally got a chance to eat at Pizzeria Verita. It was a good experience, one we expect to repeat. This is not your typical pizza joint. The wood-fired pizza is a classic Neapolitan pie. The toppings are simple, fresh, and flavorful. The crust is chewy and tasty. Our meal started with two salads, a caesar and the mista with goat cheese. Both were very good but the mista with warm goat cheese was the winner of the two. The goat cheese is encrusted with toasted, seasoned bread crumbs and tossed with a light vinaigrette. Both salads were large, but the mista was a bit larger and could have served two. As for the pies, we had the Regina Margherita and Salsiccia e Rapini with fennel sausage. They have seasonal and daily special pies but we wanted to test their standard fare. It took about 10-15 minutes from order to table, which was impressive because they were pretty full. The pies were done to perfection. Because these are wood fired pies, the crusts, especially at the fringes, can get a bit singed but I don't mind that. The pies are 11-13 inches and cut into quarters. I note that because one pie really only serves one adult. Dinner for two with salads, pizzas and a cocktails came to $70. More expensive than a normal pizza joint but ultimately worth what we paid. I would suggest reservations on the weekends. We got lucky and walked into table at 7pm on a Friday. Five minutes after we were seated it was SRO. Tables seem to turn over rapidly but if you're in a hurry, call ahead.

    Had to put my face up to the glass door to make sure they were open. Sure glad I did as we had some of the best wood fired pizza I've ever had. Lets start at the beginning...The hostess and waitstaff were extremely friendly and seemed like they even like working there! While my wife and I were lost in the menu, another waiter came over and pointed to his favorite, the "Mais". That was where my eye first went when I sat down which is usually a good indication. We ordered that. The ambiance is very nice, lots of wood but nothing overdone. I already said the waitstaff was friendly. Beer and Wine list about perfect. Now for the food: My wife and I split a salad...perfect. The Mais pizza is something that everyone should order! Fire roasted sweet corn, speck (which we learned was something like proccueto), basil, evoo (what doesnt contain evoo these days) and other good stuff. The crust is entirely different than all the others. It was fairly thin but not crisp. Definately a good alternative to all the others. A must place to visit in a city of lots of great restaurants.

    You'd hardly know this restaurant is brand new! The servers were very helpful, they knew their food and were confident in making recommendations. They also knew the menu quite well. Not to mention they've done an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G job redoing the interior! They appear to have gutted the interior bad take on 'modern' the prior place had and have created a rustic-chic environment. There is a beautiful, round wood-burning oven. Super cool pendants that create an awesome effect on the walls and stunning sconces on the rustic wood columns. The whole place simple, yet quite classy. Oh... and what's awesome is that there isn't a TV in the WHOLE place! Now to the food-- If you took a pizza place in Naples, Italy (not Florida ya snow birds) and plopped it in Burlington, you'd get Pizzeria Verita. The pizza is wood-fired and the crust is amazing. Not too thin, not too thick. It is perfectly chewy, crusty and has perfect little charred spots from the wood oven. As far as the rest of the menu-- as I said, they have nice salads as well as a great create-your-own antipasti menu with some unique options (house-made mozzarella, baked goat cheese, olives, etc). You can pick how many options from the selections you want and there are different prices. I was extremely pleased they had several great vegetarian options and could easily do half vegetarian and half meat pizzas. They also have a gluten-free pizza section! One pizza is rustic (read, not perfectly round) and 4 slices and is good for one person or could be split (which is what we did). What we ordered: The mister and I chose to split the DELICIOUS roasted beet & avocado salad (perfectly dressed with micro-greens-- the other salad options looked really good as well), then we split the Rucola pizza and he got his half with the prosciutto option. For dessert, we caved and got the Pizza a la Nutella and oh sweet jeebus, it was amazing. They took their awesome crust and put nutella in it and folded it over and baked it. They then drizzled it lightly with chocolate and put some powdered sugar over it. WOW. A perfect way to finish a delicious dinner. In my time, this location has had quite a few bars/restaurants come and go, but if they keep up what we enjoyed tonight, this place is going to be around for a long time! With that one visit, I'm smitten with Pizzeria Verita (if you haven't been able to tell from the above) and look forward to going there again, and again, and again. Something tells me, there's going to be QUITE the wait once word gets out!

    Been to Pizzeria Verita twice now, most recently during VT Restaurant Week. It is definitely good, but that's not really enough. The Neapolitan pizzas are delicious. Salads are creative and tasty, albeit a bit overdressed, imho. Our server was fine and attentive enough. Not great, but fine. I did notice a table of four got up and left shortly after we sat down because they clearly had not been attended to. A particular stumper moment was the pizza being cut into four big pieces...ok cool...but if you are sharing they give you a small square plate the slice barely fits on. I made a stinkface and carried on. Really...it's all just fine...which is why I probably won't be back. After both trips, my fiancee and I left feeling like we paid for waaaaay more than we actually received. Others already mentioned it is expensive and I do not mind paying good money for a special meal, but that does not quite happen here. The Restaurant Week menu was barely a deal (you could break even ordering on the high end of everything and getting a non-alcoholic drink) and our meal for two with three drinks (one each of a cocktail, glass of wine, and beer), plus tip was nearly $100. There are many other places in town I would rather drop that wad.

    The food and cocktails here are really good. You can't go wrong. The bad thing about this place is that you will feel rushed to leave, especially if it is busy. I once went here for a very long and enjoyable dinner. The waitress was pushing a new wine and between the two of us, we had two bottles (tab at this point including appetizers, salads, and pizzas + wine was over $200). One of the owners (tall, goofy looking one) actually had the gall to walk up and ask us when we planned on leaving after we had been there for two hours. I advised him that we were both too drunk to drive, and that we were going to order dessert, and that he shouldn't have his wait staff push bottles of wine on people that cause them to stay there for a longer period of time and then plan to ask people to leave. These brick oven pizzas take only 2-3 minutes to cook. Owners need to get a clue and enjoy the ride while it lasts unless they decide to change their customer service approach and learn to time the food delivery better. They're just screwing over their waitstaff in the end.

    Fly by the seat of your pants and parked our butts here. Tuesday night at 7:30 and it was packed. Service was slow to get anything, but u know what? It didn't matter! Incredible Rocket Salad and Margherita Pizza. The crust was unlike anything I had ever had! Asked about the crust and I was fortunate enough to get a personalized tour of the "dough room". The owner is extremely proud of his place and you can tell he uses only the best ingredients. I learned a lot!

    The dough is excellent (chewy without being thick) but I wasn't a fan o their toppings. My four cheese pizza tasted too rich with the Parmesan overwhelming all the other cheeses. Also, I prefer to have the basil added at the end so it stays fresh as opposed to cooked in with the cheeses. Service is good, room is nice, good drink list. I would've liked to give them a 3.5.

    Pizza is fantastic. However, it is expensive. All pies are individual and $13-1$15 each. We got the Ring of Fire and the sausage and mushroom one The hot sausage is awesome. What you would expect to get from a wood fired oven...charred, light and airy crust with a sweet san marzano sauce. I do agree with other reviews that the menu does lack a variety of pizza. There are probably really only like 4-5 different pizzas and then a bunch of variations of those with one different ingredient. My wife and I noticed a few strange things..... 1) Everybody working in the open kitchen was eating as they made the food. Toss a few sausage on the pizza, toss a few pieces in my mouth. Everyone. 2) They have white and red wine on tap. We noticed that every glass of red wine not finished was being dumped into a small bucket near the back. Tomorrow's Sangria? We also thought is was funny they charged us $1.00 for bread. We just spent close to $80 on 2 pizzas, a salad and a couple drinks and they had to tack on that extra $1.00 for bread. We were charged an extra $10 on our bill for an unexplained reason, they quickly corrected the issue, however it seemed like it happened all the time by their response. All in all great, great pizza. The 3 stars is for how expensive it is.

    The pizza bar rocks for a great view and quick service. The owner really cares about their pies. Their salads are winners too. Their Caesar is especially good. Eat the anchovies; they're good for you and are delicious with the dressing here. Be sure to get the prosciutto on the fig and Gorgonzola pie. Also, get any pie they offer with pesto and arugula on it. Wow. Love it here. The only thing I'd add would be a couple of heavy and bitty red wines to their by-the-glass list. Most offerings are on the sweet side (though all very drinkable, and great with their pies) for this lover of dry, leathery reds. Oh! And their nuttela pizza roll-up is probably one of the simplest and most delicious desserts I've ever had.

    We had an excellent meal at Pizzeria Verita last night. It was a freezing cold and we were seated immediately in the open but cozy dining area. The three of us ordered two pies and a three item antipasti. We all thought the food was excellent. One of the owners, David, came to our table and introduced himself. He and the man who appeared to be the other owner were helping out behind the counter when they weren't chatting with customers. I do want to respond to some of the complaints below. The amount of food was just right and the cost is directly related to the quality of ingredients. The food is fresh, fresh, fresh. And most of us eat too much. I enjoy leaving a restaurant satisfied that I have eaten great food in smaller amounts instead of bucket loads of food of sub-standard quality. If you want massive amounts of greasy pizza this is not the place for you. Also, it looks like the complaints about the service are from shortly after the restaurant opened, this is unfair... places always take a few months to work out the kinks. I think we have found one of our new favorite places in Burlington!

    It started out with five stars and slid to a three, not because of the food, necessarily, but because of the staff and other things that diminished the experience. Yes, the pizzas are as close to authentic Neapolitan as any we've had in Vermont. Baked in an oven that came from Naples, and using San Marzano tomatoes, they're quite tasty. Really. (Yeah it IS a shock to pay $11 for a pie that cost €2 at De Matteo, but that's another story.) The crusts are sublime, made using Caputo Tipo 00 flour, but just a little thicker than the originals. There didn't seem to be much difference between the mozzarella di bufala and their house-made Fior di Latte, which says something (I'm just not sure what). In Napoli there is an obvious distinction. As others have mentioned, much of the pizza menu is silly, with most of the pizzas being a basic Margherita with just a bit of variety. Putting Nutella on a dough then folding it up and baking and sprinkling it with confectionary sugar was a stroke of genius, but putting so much Nutella in it that there's no balance of flavors was disappointing (and REALLY messy). In a super hot Neapolitan oven, pizzas take about two minutes to cook. Why, then are they so slow at Pizzeria Verità? The pizzaioli seem to be making art. (Next time we want to sit at the bar facing the kitchen--it's the best seat in the house!) Maybe that's the problem. Or maybe it's that the staff were snacking while assembling the pizzas. (Not sure if that's sanitary.) The wine list looked fine, but the one touted as "perfect with pizza" was very like fizzy grape juice. My Martini was reasonably well balanced but way overpriced. As another reviewer has mentioned, the Cæsar Salad is probably the best in town. Topping it with white anchovies is genius. The issues that cost the stars are mostly about the problem that plagues so many Burlington's businesses: staffing. (Yeah, we were there on a very cold night, and getting blasts of arctic air when the doors opened didn't make being there any more pleasant, either.) Our waiter was very helpful when we first got there, and there were still empty tables around, but as the place filled he became more and more overwhelmed (the runners looked totally at sea). There were ridiculously long periods of time when we wondered where he'd gone. (When will people learn that the window immediately preceding the check-out cycle is crucial to the perception of the experience?) It took 20 minutes. During which time we got to watch another table (with four little kids in the party) try to cope with the slow kitchen, and listen to an earnest young fellow hold forth to his friends at a thigh-high marble-topped barrel that served as a bar table (REALLY close to where we were seated). And, finally, when we eventually did get the check, we learned that their system charged $7 for mushrooms on half. When called on it, our waiter did get it adjusted to $2, but one wonders how many folks pay their bills without ever reviewing them. Let me sum up: it's beautiful, tasty pizza. Other than that, well, there are problems.

    This place is among my favorite pizzerias in America. I ate there yesterday evening with friends and family. We started with the fresh burrata and antipasti which were delicious. The salads were fresh and perfectly dressed, but the star of the show here are the pizzas. We had a variety of pizzas, from simple margherita for the kids to the melanzana, mais and a special butternut squash pizza with a spicy honey drizzle. The toppings were all excellent, but what is truly amazing is the crust. The care that goes into the multi-day process of preparing the dough and then the 90 second cooking in the wood burning oven results in a pizza it is truly unfair to other pizzas. On top of that, my wife is usually depressed when we go to pizzerias because she can't eat gluten. At Pizzeria Verita, they actually prepare their own homemade gluten free crusts, so she was thrilled to get to enjoy delicious pizza along with the rest of us. The service was friendly and prompt. They make you feel like family. Can't wait to come again!

    I've been here 4 times. That's how many tries I think a place deserves before being reviewed accurately. This restaurant is a DRAMATIC improvement over what it was prior, 156 Bistro; and gets 5 stars for the design. I can say without hesitation that 156 was one of the worst restaurants I've ever seen, or tasted. The owners of Verita dramatically improved the space architecturally, and it's now a warm, modern, inviting atmosphere. I love it. The menu & food however is another story. This gets 2-3 stars. Yes the food is good, but the menu, WITHOUT QUESTION, lacks creativity and is wildly overpriced. Every single pizza on the menu (which isn't saying much because you only get about 8 choices) is identical except for one item per pizza...and that one item is provided to you in such a ridiculously small portion that it's almost laughable. Each pizza has probably 10% of the toppings that are given to you on a typical pizza, so for the price, no matter which pizza you try, you'll feel ripped off. If the prices were 40% lower, this place would get 5 stars.

    I LOVE THIS PLACE! The food is amazingly fresh and light. Salad is excellent, dessert is amazing! I love sitting at the pizza bar watching the pizzas get made. The service is outstanding. I have not had a better experience anywhere in Burlington. They are the best!

    Upon first visit to Verita I walked away highly impressed with the space, decor, atmosphere and service. The bar in particular looks like a great spot to belly up have a few glasses of wine and order a pizza...which is very easy to put down by ones-self. Overall the quality of the pizza was good. Fresh ingredients and a varied menu of pies (but not much else) face you after you arrive. Being a focused menu is a good thing, I believe, because there's not much else to distract you from what you came for -- neopolitan pizza. Now, about the pie. It was good. Not great. The crust was done well with signature charring, but it was a tad thick to be truly Neopolitan. There was also something missing from the taste that held it back from being a truly memorable pizza. Can't quite put the finger on it, but I suspect it was the sauce lacking a signature sweetness or taste. It's different than flatbread, and that's a very good thing. The atmosphere is more Bluebird Tavern (though less formal) and that's a nice change of pace from Flatbread. However pizza-wise, even though we are comparing apples and oranges in terms of styles, Flatbread remains king.

    The best pizza and cocktails we've had in the state. It's hard to get a table and the menu is pricey, but the service is very friendly and the food is great. I had the Bianca (Fior di latte, arugula, prosciutto di parma, pecorino romano, fresh basil, balsamic vinegar, olive oil) and my husband had the Margherita (Tomatoes, house-made fior di latte, fresh basil, oregano, olive oil) pizzas, both of which had house-made mozzarella and were cooked to a pleasant crisp. for drinks, we had the Botticelli's Daughter (aperol, vodka, grapefruit, absinthe, prosecco) and the Unusual Negroni (aperol, lillet, Hendrick's gin, orange), which were very well done - quality spirits, and not too sweet. All in all, Pizzeria Verita is a great little place, and worth frequenting.

    We came in for dinner on a Tuesday and the restaurant was packed. We were seated over in a small corned of the restaurant by a window, which the hubby liked because it was quieter. We ordered 2 Narragansett for $3 a piece, and we did the antipasto appetizer with baked goat cheese, prosciutto, and caramelized onions. We wished it came with more bread, but it was delicious and we actually liked it even more than our pizza. We ordered the Bianca, and everything was fresh and tasty. In retrospect I wish I would have ordered 2 different pizzas so I could try one with tomato sauce. Fresh, quality ingredients I think make this place what it is.

    Was looking for another gluten free restaurant that has pizza. We called in for takeout. We ordered the Salsiccia e Rapini. The women on the phone said 45 possibly 30 minutes. She took down my number and said she would call if it took less time. I showed up 40 min later. As I walked in the pizza was sitting on the hostess table right in then open. I suspected it to be cold, and it was. They didn't seem to have anything to keep it warm. I might have been a little late, just as i walked in they were attempting to call. but I wished they would have kept it warm. The gluten free dough was really tough to chew. Very disappointing. Ive had other gluten free dough that can be soft. Not sure why this was so hard. The size of the pizza quite small for the price of $19.00. The toppings were good and generous. There wasn't a lot of options for toppings. I would possible eat there again and try a regular pizza.

    After giving it another go I would re-emphasize that it's good, but not THAT good. It's only pizza... the Mais is delicious but really not worth $16 for such a small pizza. I don't see what all the fuss is about. If you like super pricey small pretentious "PIZZE" than this is the place for you.

    First time with friends last night. Three separate checks handled easily and no frown from the waitress. My BIGGEST comment; AFFORDABLE-PRICED BEER! Several offerings for $3. Caesar salad was excellent & the lettuce was as fresh as just being picked from my garden. Pizza Margherita was very well executed & when I return, I will ask for a little extra tomato and more fresh basil, to be added at the last minute of baking. Service was excellent and they have enough staff on hand to cover all the bases. All in all, very pleased. We'll be back. Dave, John & Leslie have done a very admirable job! Step aside American, over-priced Flatbread!

    When I had originally passed by Pizzeria Verita, I had initially written it off, figuring that if it was in the same space as the previous restaurant that had closed, it must not be that good. Boy, was I wrong! I sat down and received wonderful service from one of the waitresses. You cold tell that she wasn't just working off of descriptions of the menu items but had actually tasted the majority of the items and felt comfortable giving personal recommendations. We sat next to the pizza bar and got a frontline view to how the pizzas are made. It felt like being at the chef's table. The chefs are friendly and will gladly strike up a conversation with you. And I haven't even gotten to the food yet! In all of my years of living in Burlington, have I yet to find a more delicious place to eat at. All of the ingredients are fresh, many of them actually imported from Italy. The meals are light but delightfully filling, and the presentation of the dishes is the best you'll find in Burlington. All in all, if you're looking for the best hidden secret in Burlington, look no further! Pizzeria Verita will restore the Italian in your mind, body, and soul,,,

    Great food, great service, and great location. It's a must try if you are visiting Burlington. My only complaint was that my entree came out a few minutes later than my husbands. Not the end of the world, but it would have been nice to have been served at the same time.

    Pizzeria Verita is an excellent new restaurant in downtown Burlington. Great atmosphere - rustic, modern and clean, with a nice open kitchen and attractive bar. The food was delicious. My husband and I shared an Alchemist beer and an antipasti with proscuitto di parma, marinated artichokes and house made mozzarella drizzled with fabulous, delicate extra virgin olive oil. We shared one of the pizzas, which was topped with hot italian sausage, brocolli rabe, Grano Padano, tomatoes, and foir di latte. Fantastic, and the crust was perfectly crisped and tasty. The owner seemed lovely and the service was great. I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the delicious sounding pizzas on the menu!

    Rarely do I feel as welcome at a restaurant as I did here. David, one of the owners, was just great. Came by many times, talked to me about the food, checked in... They make an effort to get to know their guests. Lola my waitress was awesome and John the other owner even gave me a tour of downstairs where they make everything. They put a lot onto what they do. Special flour imported from Italy, special mixer to mix the dough just right. Special way they let the dough rise over 3 days. Pizza was great. Caprice salad was amazing. Service the best on a long time. Would definitely go back.

    So far so good for this place, and I think American Flatbread has a true competitor in town now. Pizzeria Verita is pushing out true Italian deliciousness and topping the pies with obviously fresh ingredients. The Pizza alla Nutella is for me the most unique item on the menu. Seeing as I can't eat sugar my girlfriend ordered one and raved about how it is the best pizza she has ever had. After that I had to try, and she was right it is pretty amazing. For me the most stand out feature of this place is the drink menu. They brought in a consultant to help create their drink menu and I think this was a great decision. Now they have some of the most inventive, well executed drinks in town. Again there attention to detail and use of quality, fresh ingredients shines in there drinks. For your money I think the old fashion here is amazing. Overall this place is doing great. Everything is fresh and delicious and the service is polite and accommodating, This is a new must try in Burlington.

    Wow - this pizza is over the top! My husband and I were visiting from NY and had a desire for a thin crust tasty pizza. We heard about this place from the locals and sat at the pizza bar to watch the pizza being made. We first came across Jason, who made each crust with care using a unique method to spread the dough to a perfect thin crust consistency. Next, Richard loaded up the crust with a sauce that was sweet yet authentic (being of Italian descent, I can honestly say this sauce was one of the best I've had outside of my grandma's). The sauce did not make the crust soggy and my pizza was topped with roasted (not fried) eggplant, carmelized onions and the most freshest basil and homemade motzarella cheese that made the pizza extra special. A drizzle or two of extra virgin olive oil was added just before Griffin put the pies in the oven. The oven (which I'm sure was imported from Italy) cooked our pizzas quickly and I was amazed to watch Griffin take pizza after pizza out of that oven without burning one! The flair and timing to have these personal pizzas cooked just right was a talent in and of itself ! The dining experience at this place was certainly enhanced by the staff. Our server Jenna was also personable and helpful as we ordered wine and checked in on us from time to time to ensure we didn't need anything (despite the busy pace and tables full of hungry diners). This place was a home run for food, service and friendliness! A heartfelt 'have a good night' in Italian was wished to us as we departed. What a great place to eat and locals are lucky to have such a gem in Burlington!!

    Absolutely delicious dinner! We had the fig and Gorgonzola pizza an it was utterly amazing. Sweet, crunchy, salty and chewy...perfection! We also had an antipasti platter with white anchovies, baked goat cheese and caramel ones onions and it was divine. A friend of ours recommended this place, and now we recommend it to others. Seriously, you won't be disappointed!

    Pizzeria Verita is THE place in Burlington for exceptional service and pizza that puts this area on the pizza lovers map. Fresh locally sourced salads that vary according to what is fresh and flavorful are a great way to start your meal. The pizzas are all about the dough, and that is saying something when it is topped with house made mozzarella, San Marzano Tomato sauce, and other excellent quality additions. The well thought out beverages include food friendly wines, craft beers, and proprietary cocktails. The service is courteous and well paced so your meal will be as quick or leisurely as you prefer.     Amazingly over-priced and not that great pizza. If one is to pay that much for a personal pizza, it had better stand out. Fails my test. My wife's pie came with a hole charred in it; my friend's gluten free was like cardboard. The bill for 2 pies, a salad, and a couple beers was $70! You are way better off up the street at American Flatbread Hearth.

    This place was so good that I ate here two nights in a row while in Burlington. I had the special, a Caprese pizza with arugula pesto and pine nuts. So good I had it twice. I also had an arugula salad. The first time, I added a half carafe of white wine and tiramisu, both of which were great. It was busy both nights, but didn't have trouble getting a table.     Good enough product... a LONG way to go from being a functional establishment. My girlfriend and I have eaten here twice since they opened... or should I say attempted to... The first time we ate here, we gave our names and waited for a table. They forgot about us and nearly twice the length we were told we would wait, we (patiently) asked for an update on our table. They gracefully scrambled to seat us... Overall, the menu selection and the product is good... we had a few elaborate pizzas and they were delicious. Not the best pizza i've had, but solid. I will in no way knock the flavor. The second time we 'tried' to eat here, we were told it would be a 20 minute wait. We waited nearly 40 minutes and had a drink at the bar before asking for an update on the wait. They then offered us a shared table, which we accepted with some reluctance. They must have taken our unenthused reluctance as a NO and instantly seated the couple next to us (who came in 25 minutes after us) at said shared table, with nobody else there. At this point we left. I was disappointed, as I was planning on spending a pretty good chunk of change at Verita on some great food, but instead was forced to change directions but still went home happy.... after a stop at Kountry Kart. And it only cost us 20 bucks, including a 6 pack...

    We lucked out going on Easter Sunday and didn't have to make a reservation as many have suggested. The service was great with only 5 tables to attend to, so can't comment on poor service folks have talked about. The salad of roasted beets and avocado with pea shoots was very tasty as was the pizza (we ordered the 2 specials). Nothing to complain about except the price was just too high for the offering to make it a regular haunt. $75 for 2 pizza's and 2 salads (no alcohol) is a bit too steep. The bar looked fun, we'd come back but knowing we aren't really getting value for the buck.

    It was very good Brick oven pizza, One of our pizzas was a little more burnt than I like but it was VERY TASTY and I highly recommend the food. The drinks are excellent with slight Vermont twists. The Vermont twist is welcome and done very well. It doesn't scream Vermont but makes you think "...is that cider in my old fashion? Its surprisingly good" or "...Maple and cinnamon in a Mohitto ewww wait that's what in it? It's so good". One more nice touch is the oversized single Ice cube which chills but does not water down your drink. The staff I tested ever so slightly, and they passed with a smile. Snotty, Rude or Pretentious can not be used to describe the staff, eventhough it would "work" if they were. They are warm, friendly, welcoming an absolute delight. The atmosphere is warm, comfortable, romantic and welcoming. It makes a great date place. Now all of that being said you pay for all of it. This is a "special occasion location" not a weekly night out. We had 2 pizzas and 2 dinks for $66 with tip. The wait was a bit much but overall the experience was great. If we could do the same for $40 I would recommend this as a weekly hang out.

    I want to like this place as i love italian flatbread and i really liked 156 when it was here but every time pizza verita underwhelms. the good: house made mozz is fantastic as is the antipasti. decent size for the price. also the speck is also great. the meh: the pizzas are ok, always seem to be missing something ( like an acid to balance it out) and come out super soaked so they can't really be picked up to eat without everything falling off the slice. even after taking it home and hoping it would dry up a bit for leftovers it's still covered in olive oil. so far flatbread's revolution is better than any inspired pie i've had at verita. the bad: price for what it is is ridiculous. we had 2 pizzas, a 3 pc antipasti, 1 glass of house red and 1 beer and it was over $60. i get the gourmet thing but nothing on the mais or salsiccia pie that we had would EVER be worth $16-$18. i guess the price is what makes it gourmet because it's certainly not the pizza (which is pretty much a personal size btw). service was ok. hostess was fairly apathetic and more interested in her camera. bottom line: it's ok. if you're cool with over paying for a wood fired pizza with local toppings than this place is for you.

    We are so fortunate to have this restaurant in Burlington. The pizza crust is great, with an ideal thickness and lightness at the same time. Tasty toppings- many made in-house, such as the Mozzarella and sausage. And when you order a salad, you are served a salad........The mixed greens salad was a heaping fresh portion with an excellent light olive oil dressing a la European style. Nice decor too, featuring the imported Italian pizza oven at work.

    HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND I live in New York City. I have had pizza all over Italy. And Pizzeria Verita is hands down the best pizza I have EVER had. In my life. The food is perfect, the wine list is superb (not to mention they have an amazing cocktail list AND amazing house wine on tap), the decor is friendly- yet sleek, and the service is impeccable. So if you can't swing a ticket to Naples - take a trip to Burlington to experience this culinary adventure!

    Love! We had such a nice time here, I'm going to celebrate the big 3-0 here next week with my pals. Highlights include: -excellent house wine on tap. When we tried to order a more expensive bottle for the table, our waiter recommended it if we weren't looking to get fancy, which I thought was a classy move -great atmosphere and everyone seems to be having a nice time. I thought it was decorated well and liked how the pizza oven area was open to the dining room, but wasn't a focal point. -they are really fantastic about gluten free. My favorite celiac ordered a gluten free pizza, and the owner came over to ask how serious his allergy was and would he like them to cook the pizza in the dedicated GF oven instead of next to the regular pizza. Later he came over again to apologize for a delay explaining they couldn't cook as many GF pizzas at once in the smaller oven, and AGAIN after we had our food to make sure we liked it! I don't except that kind of thing every time, but I was really impressed by an owner taking such personal interest in how things are going in his new restaurant, and being genuinely interested in what folks had to say about their meal- not just us, but tables all around the room. -the waiter also brought over a little plate of olives while we waited since the food was running late. We didn't mind at all, but nonetheless they were just so attentive the whole meal. I ordered the regular crust pizza with their house made fresh mozz and it was so yum! I also ordered some of the artichokes and they were so beyond. It can get crazy busy though being the new kid on the block, so plan on a wait and make your peace with it (though I was able to make a reservation for a large party for my upcoming birthday, which was nice.) Can't wait to go back!

    I came here while I was visiting Burlington for a wedding and loved it! We had a large group of about 15 people and were accommodated very well. They kept the drinks flowing and we ordered all kinds of different pizzas, not a single one disappointed. The pepperoni was probably my favorite, but the eggplant was also delicious. The decor has a more modern feel to it but it still felt very intimate and the owner was walking around talking to customers and greeted us at the door when we arrived which was a nice personal touch. I wish I lived in Burlington so I could come back here often!

    I'm not a gourmet pizza fan and I don't really like American Flatbread either, so take this review for what its worth... I thought the pizza was too small and took a while to come out - when it did arrive it was a little too burnt for my liking. The pizza, in my opinion didn't have enough toppings on it -- it was mostly oversized crust AND they didn't even cut it into pieces - so you end up having to use a butter knife and cut slices (end result: toppings slide all over the place) As for the menu, I was really disappointed with the pizza/topping options. I went in expecting a list of pizza choices and toppings, which wasn't the case. I get that this place is trying to be gourmet and high end but I looked at the menu and nothing really stood out. At least the staff was super friendly and professional - they always came by the table to check on us and ask if we needed anything.

    This review is based only on the customer service because that's only as far as I got. First of all, they only take reservations for tables of 6 or more. They offer a call ahead service, which you can call in only on the day you are planning to dine before you get there. So, to celebrate our anniversary we tried to call ahead. No one answered the phone. We figured we would leave the house and get there. It was pretty early on a Saturday night and we live just over 5 minutes away. When we arrived. We walked in to a nearly empty restaurant. Perfect, right? Nope. We were told there would be a 30-45 minute wait for a table. Seriously? I'll wait that long for a table any day if the food is good and it's full. Apparently their call ahead list had filled all those empty tables. This is just poor business in my opinion. Either take reservations or don't. If you have a call ahead service, answer your phone. Lastly, a restaurant that's full of empty tables waiting for people to arrive is not appealing. How can you say how long the wait will be when the people aren't even there eating yet?

    Pizza is good, but small and pricey for what you get. The serving plates are tiny, and the pizzas are cut into 4 pieces. This is to make them look big, because if they were cut into 8, they would look ridiculously small. You get a lot more for your money just up the road at American Flatbread, which also has brick oven pizzas. Four of us ate 3 of their appetizers (3 for $10) and 2 pizza's and still left hungry. Service was excellent, however.

We have been back since and the food and wait staff was great and we had a really good time. Despite the experience below, Pizzeria is one of my favorite places to meet up with friends so I changed my ranking from a two to a four. Thank you, Leslie, we will be back.) This is a fun (but loud) place with (pricey but) good food. However, I have to describe an unpleasant experience I had. Sometimes the service is slow but I don't mind. What I did mind was that once I and my two friends had paid our bill and were talking just before leaving, one of the owners came over and asked us to leave because people were waiting for a table. First, we were just about to leave so had he waited a few seconds, case closed. Second, everyone in my party had been servers at one time or another and there are polite ways to encourage diners to leave when you are busy such as "is there anything else I can get you?" etc. Third, there may have been people waiting at the bar but there was no line at the door. It ruined a perfectly good evening. We asked to speak to the owner and spoke to another person from the one who had asked us to leave. He was mortified and promised us gift certificates in the hopes that we would return - we never received anything. When I told this story to others, at least two people told me they had had the same experience with the short, stocky owner (the same as the one I describe). It's a shame. I don't mind the priciness, I don't mind waiting, but I REALLY mind being treated rudely.

    The new kid in town is going to give flatbread a well deserved run for their money. Friendly staff and a menu that features a bevy of inspired pies will lure people from miles around. We sat down at 9:15pm and had a hot pizza at our table and in our bellies by 9:35pm. Super fresh dough that was cooked to perfection. The arugula salad to start had just the right balance of EVOO and lemon along with toasted pine nuts and shaved grana padano to give an extra kick. I can't wait to get back so I can try a different pizza!!! Way to go! Finally a legitimate pizza joint in Burlington!!!!

    Will not be going back. Ever. Extremely long wait and the front of the house employees ran around like chickens with their heads cut off. Our server forgot to put in our drink orders TWICE. I thought it might be a long wait for entrees, so I ordered a simple salad. When I finally got my salad, it was waaaay too salty and overdressed. Half an hour goes by and I start to wonder why I didn't just get delivery pizza. After several pathetic apologies from a few different employees (which I thought was strange) someone brought us what I think was "cheese bread" -- an extremely dry sliver of pizza dough covered in salt and a little sprinkle of dry, salty cheese. Several more minutes go by... Then finally the server brought only ONE of our two entrees to the table. Really?! The server explained that my dish would be out in 90 seconds because they only cook pizzas in threes. Ten minutes goes by... Finally my margherita pizza comes, and disappointment continues. It had barely any tomato sauce and THREE small basil leaves -- for TEN dollars! I literally have more basil on my porch. Even if the service and food were impecable, the atmosphere is extremely noisy (times two if you're unfortunate enough to have loud neighbors, like we did). The sound is amplified if you sit at the pizza bar because of the plexiglass wall. Great concept, horrible execution. What a shame since I live right in the neighborhood.

    Good atmosphere and very friendly staff. We were seated promptly and received our drinks promptly as well. Nice to see some real Italian orange and lemon pellegrinos. We ordered the rocket salad, which was delicious with pine nuts reggiano arugula and a nice vinagrette. I got the special, a pizza with sausage and mushrooms and my girlfriend had the prosciutto and arugula pizza. The sausage was delicious but not much of it was on the pizza, most of which could only be found in the very center and I found myself rearranging the toppings. The menu did not specify what kind of shrooms where on the pie and they looked like standard buttons, a nice local fungi would have been a fantastic addition. Unfortunately the sauce was lacking in both amount and flavor. I think they should work on a few different sauces and give the choice of sauce to the diner. The dough was puffy and delicious however mine was burned compared to my girlfriends prosciutto pie. I tried hers and it was simple and delicious and cooked just right. Overall it was a good dining experience however I think they need to fix a few things, especially making well topped pizzas that are consistent and cooked just right. Price wise it would have been worth it if my pizza had a little more toppings and flavor. I will return and hope my pie will be better this time!

    The food was par on flavor, but portions are ridiculously small. Other than the salad, you will be left asking "is that all". Now we get to the price, the only thing higher than the cost of this experience was the noise level. While both were absence, when I left, all though the noise was gone so was all the money in my wallet. For just 2-3 more $, I could have had 4 times the food at any other pizzaria in town. How ever I do find it necessary to mention that the service I had was both friendly and professional.
