Tasty pizza made with quality ingredients. It's a little pricey for specialty pies- but all organic, focused on local ingredients (because this is, of course, Vermont!) makes it worth it. The crust is great and they have interesting topping combinations you'd never come up with - as well as the standards (margherita or pick-your-own). Staff are really friendly - and, they sell by the slice!

The only reason for not 5 stars has nothing to do with the pizza, it's because seating is limited. This is mostly a take out place unless it's nice outside and you can eat at one of the stainless steel restaurant rolling kitchen style table on a comfy stool and listen to Burlington happen as you eat. Totally cool. But if it's raining, and there are more than 6 people inside, you should order to go. But then, maybe the pizza would suffer, if lots of people could sit inside and force the owners to hire wait staff and all that. So the formula of just having THE BEST PIZZA IN BURLINGTON with minimal seating is then, brilliant. Up to this point Folinos next to Fiddlehead brewery and American Flatbread were the best thin crust we have had. We don't care for deep dish, thick crust, sweet pizza, so options are few. I worked in a Greek pizza place for years, and lived in CT where there is a lot of very good pizza. So at Panaceas we had the Lend Way, The Cheese, and another special, and all the stories I heard about no good pizza in Burlington went away. Get 4 slices with a friend of 4 different 'zas and prepare to ooh and ahh at some spectacular good pizza. Thin crust , crunchy bottom, good cheeses, great veggies. We don't eat meat - and there are lots of options. By the way, taste the cheese. It's a huge differentiator. Savor it. Traditional mozzarella/cheddar/potato starch cheese mixtures are ooey and gooey, but bland. 14 bucks for a very good plain cheese, and 20 bucks for many combos. Slices are around 2.50. The EVOO crust is excellent all around. Some of the best white pizza I have had. Top it off with a Boylands raspberry. I am a pizza snob and typically drive by 4 or 5 pizza places to get to the one I want. How awesome that I can walk to Panacea. You might get more for your money elsewhere if you are on a budget, no question. But it won't be this good. So, If this was only about the pizza....5 stars, no problem. Why hassle with downtown.

Great pizza! This place is definitely worth the walk and the worth the wait. My advice is to be adventurous and give every pie a try! I think I have 3 specialties to go and I've tried them all. Seating leaves something to be desired but no place is perfect. They maximize the space they have. A must try if you're in Burlington. P.S. The scary dude that used to own this place is not the owner....Or that is what I'm told. I haven't seen him around!

Finally made it in to try this place out today. I'm told they have unpredictable hours, and indeed there was a sign on the door that says they are only open 4-10, Thursday-Sunday. Bummer since I work down the street at Dealer.com and would love to get a slice for lunch here now and again! I got slices of the "Deep Woods" (mushroom/ricotta) and the "$10 an Hour" (sweet sausage.) Both were so tasty! It's hard to find a good place for slices here in Burlington, something about slices that have had time for the flavors to meld before being toasted back up brings me back to my childhood in Philly. I'll be back here for sure and I really hope they expand their hours soon!

Bite Me Pizza is now Panacea Pizza (as of 2014) What to say about Panacea (formerly Bite Me) Pizza? For starters, the pizza is very good. Also, Panacea uses locally sourced, organic ingredients. The pie flavors are unusual. Not only are the names a bit odd "An Homage to Goats" for example, but Panacea mixes ingredients you would normally not see combined at another pizza place. In the case of An Homage to Goats, it's potatoes, goat cheese, scallions, spinach, garlic and aged balsamic vinegar. But it works! I've never had a piece of pizza there that wasn't pretty fabulous. In a town that already seems to be overflowing with pizza offerings, Panacea is definitely in the top three. Flatbread and Veritas would be the other top contenders. In the past, when Panacea was Bite Me Pizza, the place had a bit of a reputation. People went for the great pizza, but the service was pretty wretched. Sometimes you'd order one type of pizza for delivery but you'd get a completely different pie. Sometimes you'd go into the restaurant (the space is small and only seats a few people) and you'd be ignored. Word on the street says that the previous owner was not only irascible, he also beat up a few customers. Given this, why did so many people continue to go? Because the pizza was/is that good. Also, because in all its disorder, Bite Me had a bit of a "Soup Nazi" vibe, ala Seinfeld. People went for the great food and also, possibly, to be treated badly. Weird, I know. But they still went. Since 2014, Panacea is owned by someone new, but the pizza is the same, more or less. I have noticed the last few times that I've been in the pizza was overcooked by my standards. I hope that doesn't continue. But otherwise, the place seems pretty much the same, except for the fact it was slightly remodeled between owners. The new owner seems to have a very laid-back vibe. This isn't a typical "type A" business by most people's standards. Large parties will have a hard time, as there is very limited seating at Panacea. There is a picnic table outside for those who wish to use it. There are enough traditional types of pizza that Panacea should appeal to everyone, but those who are more liberal, culinarily adventurous and into local/organic ingredients tend to flock here. There is limited parking. Walk here or be prepared to park down the street and walk to get your pie.

Best pizza in Burlington in my opinion. Really nice not too crispy thin crust big slices. Reasonably priced for how much pizza you get. Toppings are all really good quality ingredients, not just plain old whatever. Highly recommend Panacea next time you're craving pizza.
