I ate here on 4/23/15 for dinner and found it to be a very pleasant surprise. We were seated quickly. I saw the high-top tables from the entrance, and as if by knee-jerk reaction asked for a booth--I really hate high-top tables--but the host was very friendly and happily accommodated the request. Our waitress was very friendly and did an excellent job! She checked in a just-right amount and ensured we had a great dining experience. The restaurant was well-staffed and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The food was great and arrived hot and fresh. I had salad, bread sticks, and the Tour of Italy. My eyes were bigger than my stomach! The serving sizes were very generous. I hadn't eaten here in a while, but will definitely go back soon. There really weren't any downsides, just really great service and delicious comfort food!

Since my last review in January, I've been making daytrips from Montreal to Burlington to dine at Olive Garden every month or so and have always had a great experience. I finally got to try their Never Ending Bowl promotion, for 9.99$ you can truly have as much pasta as you want on the spot or to take home! Our server asked if we wanted refills for our pasta when we weren't even done and the bowls kept on coming. I flat out told the waitress that I was getting full but would like to take it to go and that wasn't an issue! I left with 3 boxes of pasta and 8 breadsticks shared between my boyfriend and I. What a treat!! The alfredo and shrimp fritta go very well together, best cheesy cream sauce I've ever had. Can't wait for more!!

Made reservations for a team days before (and placed orders), got there and tables were not ready. We were forced to wait over an hour. Another team showed up and was seated before us. Service was good when we were finally seated.

WOW!!! The worst meal EVER! This was meant to be a special meal... we went there to carb load as I will be running the Vermont City Marathon. We chose this place because it used to be excellent.... Now... it makes me wonder if they will be going out of business SOON.... Ordered a pitcher of Sangria.... always was one of our favorites.... this was bitter and tasted like dry red wine... so awful, made us another pitcher and that one was even worse... they do not carry carona light, so settled on a WARM corona extra... so disgusting. Dinner came, I ordered egg plant parm. there was maybe a teaspoon of sauce on them. Side serving of pasta. It had a little marinara sauce on it... asked for more, waiter brought me sauce enough to cover half of one eggplant parm... which was enough, as I didn't eat any of it! Marinara tasted like campbells tomato soup. Seriously disappointed!! Waiter asked if we would come back to give them another try... OH NOT A CHANCE! totally done!

I love this Olive Garden, the best one I've been too. At this visit, everything was perfect til my boyfriend found hair in his seafood pasta dish, and it was long and straight, it was gross. But the waitress took care of it, the manager came out and took care of it. Apologized and took care of dish, and brought a new one out. I really liked how they came to the table professionally and took care of the issue. Thanks to manager DJ.

Excellent service for our party of 4. We were asked immediately if we wanted a glass of wine but opted for water to start. We had baked mushrooms for an appetizer. Which I liked but not so much the other 3. I had the New York strip. Done to perfection. My wife had the blackened salmon which she too enjoyed. My sister had the chicken my brother in law spaghetti with chicken meat balls. Needless to say after having our fill of salad and bread sticks we were stuffed .the two boys had dessert strawberry vanilla custard, I had the raspberry cheese cake. Very tasty indeed topped off with an Irish coffee. We did have about a. 20 minute wait but all in all a very happy food experience. The server was quite pleasant taking my card on the sly so I would pick up the tab as requested. I would go back again for sure to try some other menus items.

Olive Garden is one of my boyfriends favorite restaurants, so we come here maybe once every 3 months or so. Always good, never disappointed! Prices are good for what you get, I always have left overs. Get Alfredo to dip your bread sticks in, you will not regret it. On occasion I try something a little different to me but usually go to my standby Chicken Scampi! Friendly, attentive staff that stops by multiple times to ask about your food, if you need more to drink or anything else. Only on one occasion I received less than decent service, we talked the management and ended up getting a $50 gift card!

Perfect place for the endless soup, salad and breadsticks. Chicken and Gnocchi soup was excellent! But my Caprese flatbread was extremely soggy and packed with tomatoes. There was no basil on it, the waitress had to bring it over on the side. At least she was friendly...

I am a big fan of Olive Garden here in Massachusetts, but on a recent weekend trip to Burlington, VT, I was amazed at how poorly this one is run. A 40 minute wait turned into an hour and a half, and as we saw people who came in after us getting seated, I spoke up and was told "We would be next". Not true, not even close to the truth. I am diabetic and started to head to my car to get a snack, and only then were we seated. As the "hostess" started to walk away after seating us, I asked for bread sticks to stave off my low blood sugar, and she begrudgingly got them. I could go on, but the service was just plain hideous: rude servers, disinterested in your needs, barely checked up on us after we got served and one even kept crashing into the back of my seat over and over. Really? Never again!

TIme to write a review...The food is always good..the seafood is "tiny" but the last few times that we have been there the service has been VERY POOR! unfriendly servers, not paying attention, cant seem to smile..has a bit of an "attitude" I like to go to the O.G because of the food, but also because I like to be spoiled a little bit.. It's a treat for us to go there, we live far from there, and when we go to burl. to shop its a nice treat to go to the O.G.. Now I dont want to go anymore..I dont like to be Shuffled in and shuffled out and treated like a "number"

Can't imagine stopping here more than once, unless you're mad about the endless salad. Otherwise the food is perfectly average. The house wine is expensive for such average quality, and it is assumed you will be drinking it when you walk in. Why? It's almost always busy and there are so many better, less expensive, and higher quality restaurants around.

Honestly people calm down it's an Olive Garden. if you want fine italian dining come to NYC and go to Scarpetta or Babbo, if you aren't willing to do that then CALM DOWN! This location of the franchise Olive Garden on Shelburne Road probably should have a bigger sign that's easier for the customer to see driving up. With that said the staff is very friendly and accommodating not pushy at all but very attentive. I could literally sit and scarf down Olive Garden breadsticks all day long! in fact i'm wondering why they don't sell them frozen in all major supermarket chains (Darden Restaurants you should probably get on that, it could be very lucrative) The deals on food here are wonderful and the food while it's not top of the line immaculate Italian food, it isn't exactly bad either, it's pretty good. I usually get the Chicken Parm or Chicken Rollatini and i haven't been disappointed anytime i have visited. For the price and a decent night out it can't be beat plus the house Moscato D'Asti they have is SUPERB SUPERB SUPERB !!

Its a little unfair to write a review for a chair of restaurants. Despite the menu being standard across the states, it is always upto the individual location to make it or break it with the level of service provided. Our experience at this Olive Garden was beyond exceptional. The waitress was quick to respond to our needs and recognizing we were tourists, proactive in suggesting a few places we should visit. On our way out, because we liked the mint chocolates, we were given a generous handful, with the manager at the door personally welcoming every guest that night. I'll definitely be back!

It's like everyone and their sister and brother's cousin's neighbor was here on a Saturday night. But why? I haven't been to an OG in decades, and all I remember from my last visit was a hair in my soup. Eww. The wait was about 75 minutes for a party of 4. The breadsticks were a little hard, and my supposedly medium steak was well done. FAIL. It also had this brothy taste to it that was not... tasty. There goes $25 down the drain. The four cheese stuffed pansotti with sausage was actually really hearty and surprisingly looked just like the plate they brag about on the commercials. Props for attentive service, but that will probably be the last time I step into an Olive Garden.

It's a Olive Garden, not an Italian highlight spot. Fridays and weekends can get busy, so calling up ahead and possibly seeking reservations may be a good idea. The decor is a cross of an outdoor Italian village, and a scene from Goodfellas inside the restaurant. Okay, no one said it was a good version of the depicted cross scene. Indoor awnings, glassless windows looking onto other tables, plastic potted plants, pictures/ paintings of pottery and the such. The service was fine. Slowest service in comparison to all other Olive Garden's I've patron. Observing the hostess station and the wait staff, it seems like the most disorganized Olive Garden I've been to. You can tell it's not a tight ship when questions and confusion bounce back and forth between all the staff and the manager having to constantly tell the staff what to do. Our waitress checked on us just once. Had to call over a bus boy to get a refill on our drinks. Usually I'd complain about this type of service, but it's a different simpler pace of life, and since I'm usually here on errands, I don't mind the minor distractions. The pasta is as limp as soup noodles because the dishes are heated to the highest temperatures I've ever received from any other Olive Garden, therefore the noodles are still cooking in the sauce they come in, hence overcooking. I may review this establishment again, and give it a 2-star rating if I visit here during my normal pace of life, but since I always go here when I'm in an easy going mood, it's okay for now.

I'll it simple. Decent food, good service and very affordable. Especially when they have a promo. I have never had a bad meal. I mean its not a high end fancy place but it works for me

Why oh why do people go here???? I can't tell you how many times I have ordered the chicken gnocci soup only to find that it has no gnocci in it whatsoever. Like an idiot I kept going back, thinking that it would be different the next time...but alas...it wasn't. Last Christmas I bought my friend a gift certificate for $80. Turns out the employee got the receipt mixed up with a $20 gift card being purchased by someone else, and I ended up with a $20 gift card that I had paid $80 for!! Management wouldn't do anything about it, so I e-mailed corporate. A couple of days later the general Manager at the Shelburne Rd store left a message on my phone asking me to call back. Excitedly I tried to call him back thinking he was going to rectify the situation. Instead, a snotty little girl answered the phone and told me I couldn't speak to the manager and hung up on me. I give up. I will NEVER go back for NO GNOCCI chicken soup again. Instead I will stick to my locally owned eateries. I bet the actual olive garden that it's named after doesn't have any olives on the trees!!!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
