Can't go wrong with their sandwiches or breakfast sandwiches-prepare for long lines on weekend mornings.

The food is really really great. But every time i've been there i've noticed that they don't wear gloves which kind of grosses me out. Also sometimes when i try to call ahead to order they will either pick up and hang up or pick up and leave the phone off the hook. Not really sure whats up with that....I would think its a technical issue but every time i've been there the employees are so unpleasant that it makes me think they're doing it on purpose.

From the outside, Henry Street Deli Mart looks like your average neighborhood liquor store. But, not many convenience stores can make grilled chicken sandwiches. Each sandwich is made fresh to order in their makeshift kitchen. Call in to cut the wait time. The chicken breast is juicy and the spreads are flavorful. Thus far, I've tried the pesto and the buffalo chicken. The large has two chicken breast pieces sandwiched between a roll cut in half instead of a bun. Smalls are $4.99 while larges are $8.50. Other offerings include cold sandwiches, salads, soup/chili, gyros, and cheaply priced breakfast sandwiches. Food service ends at 9:30 pm.

Henry Street Deli is awesome. Fresh sandwiches, good coffee, great owners. This is definitely the spot in Burlington to get a quality sandwich. They don't skimp on anything here. They also have a nice selection of beer and grilling meats. Go here!

Fine I'll do a Henry Street Deli review. I mean, it's only fair considering the fact that I'm here every day. Affectionately known by many as "Hottie Street Deli", this little convenience store/deli is the heart that keeps my blood pumping. I go here for groceries when I don't feel like venturing to the big grocery store. They've got it all. Enough said about that. The real shining star of this place is the soup. They have three selections daily. The guy who makes the soup at this place should be given a crown-he is a prince. They have everything from traditional chicken noodle soup, to untraditional carrot and cashew. I literally go wild for the new england clam chowder they make. You wouldn't expect it, but they do soup right. Soon they will replace the soup with iced coffee, which I'm also fine with. Onto the sammies. Breakfast sandwiches on english muffins are delicious. They fry your eggs in a cast iron pan which is a major win in my book, and have delicious bacon and sausage (and other things) on hand to put atop your sammy. I really like the buffalo chicken sandwich. They cook a chicken breast right on the spot for you. It's so fresh and delicious. They buffalo blue cheese sauce is pretty good and they put pickles on the sammy as well. The italian with everything on it and italian dressing is also a fav of mine. Also, like, order a large sandwich. It's HILARIOUSLY huge and amazing. I get a large most of the time and pretend I'm going home to share it with all my friends and then go eat it in shame by myself. WIN! Basically this place rules. Food is cheap, tasty, and fast.

College frat house turned convenience store with a twist. . THEY MAKE BREAKFAST SANDWICHES (and subs too) ! You looking for a bacon egg and cheese? Forget McDonald's, go local. Equally as cheap and infinitely tastier, for about 4 bucks you get the most legit bagel, a solid sunny side up egg, some cheese and bacon, and a plethora of sauces and veggies to choose from. On a weekend, there's a pretty steady rush. More so in the morning, so if you know what you want, call ahead. Also double check your order. They definitely screw it up sometimes, but whatever.

My boyfriend would rave about Henry St. Deli after multiple trips to Burlington. I finally experienced how delicious their breakfast sandwich is! Perfectly constructed breakfast sandwich. Even with multiple ingredients, they prepare and wrap the sandwich so it doesn't get too messy. The egg was fried just enough, not too little where it's a huge mess and not over-cooked. Calling ahead is key as other reviewers have suggested!

Few tips and then review: 1) in a rush? Call ahead, no matter what day or time. 2) put the cell phone away and pay attention. For the review- been coming here for a long, long time. Saw lots of changes but the place is a beast for its comparative size. The complaints, it seems, are of the service variety and not product quality. Lunch subs are huge, like 2+ meal huge. I'm a cold sub guy (turkey and Swiss, holla atcha boy) but you can't go wrong with the chipotle or pesto chicken sandwich. Great booze selection, however I do miss Quattro Copa's on a cold Saturday night. Frankly, if you're not an idiot or a bougey moron you'll get on fine. -WANFA-

**Over the last several Months, this place has stepped it up. Better bread, Better service. And reliable qrantity of usually purchased Items. Always have everything stocked & ready to buy... ..When the basics are needed, w/o having To Drive anywhere. This is one of the Best, if not the Best Delis in BTown, especially around the College area. And always... A great vibe! *Recommend that you Bring "Deli Salads" Cole Slaw, Mac Salad, etc **thank you for the salads- jutfffrf

Henry St Deli rocks. I've been going here since UVM back in 1996. Don't get ripped of on Church St, it's worth the few block walk. Best value for your buck as far as deli's in B'town go. Nice fresh quality ingredients and they don't skimp on the bacon. I dare you to try and eat a large with a small bag of chips. Breakfast sandwiches too. There will be a line around 9am, noon, and dinner. Mainly filled with college folks. Good selection of VT brews too. My wife got me a t-shirt for Christmas and then had to tell me to stop wearing it. That's how much I love the place.

After seeing the reviews on yelp, I had a craving for a good sandwich, so decided to take my boyfriend to check this place out. We loved the sandwiches - they were fresh, filling, and a good deal! I got a medium one that stretched into two meals, for a very low, price of 5.99! My S.O. got a large and wasn't even able to finish it. This is a great testament to the size of these sandwiches! We did have a few problems with the place, though: The service was not pleasant. The music they played was tolerable, until they turned it up so loud that It was hard to even hear my S.O. speak. Beyond that, it wasn't even music that would have been acceptable in a professional setting. The store was also filthy. There were cigarettes on the floor, and piles of cardboard that had flies crawling all over them. If they cant handle simple things like sweeping, and taking out the trash - how do they handle their food prep area? For what it's worth I'd come here again in the future despite the negatives. The food really was good, and the prices were great. Maybe next time it will be a bit clear, and a bit more professional, and I can give a better review!

The last two times I've ordered, they have left a key ingredient off of my sandwich. I've even seen the order written down correctly, implying an extreme laziness on the part of the sandwich makers. The food is always great here, but this is downright ridiculous. I should start checking my sandwiches for all the correct ingredients while I'm there, because by the time I'm home I really don't feel like driving back for them to put turkey on my turkey sub. Maybe these are new employees, and in that case I think they need to start hiring better people to work there.

Pros: -Good sandwich -I got a medium and it was huge! -Prices are reasonable Cons: -Inside of the store isn't very pleasant -Guy who rung me up was not friendly -Music was playing unreasonably loud If you're like me and you're only there for a sandwich and not the experience I would still recommend it! I enjoyed the sandwich very much and I'll likely be going back.

Get a bagel sandwich with egg, ham, cheese, tomato and pesto mayo. You'll thank me. Also, eating it on some random person's porch definitely adds to the experience.

If you are going for Henry's, you should definitely get a delicious homestyle breakfast sandwich served on a bagel with your choice of toppings, any time of day. Usually very busy and you will never be surprised to spot a familiar face when picking up your sandwich. Calling ahead is your best bet!

I live right around the corner from HSD and it is delightful. Sure, it's not a fancy, eat-in establishment but the unapologetic grunge factor is totally part of the appeal.Their breakfast sandwiches are spot-on. I usually go for an egg, cheese and sriracha on an english muffin, but the sausage and bacon varieties are equally satisfying. The sandwiches are just the breakfast grease-bomb that you've been craving, while also boasting ingredients that are fresh and high quality. While the service can occasionally be a bit brusk at peak hours, 95% of the time the employees there are great and very helpful. They will even give your dog a little piece of bacon if Fido is well behaved in the store. (Rumor has it that all of the neighborhood dogs who go missing can be found at HSD for this very reason.) While their wine selection is pretty terrible (and let's be honest, who buys wine here?) their beer selection more than makes up for this. Even if they don't have an item for sale on the shelves, they will often sell you a random onion or tomato or loaf of their sandwich bread if you're in a culinary bind. Fair warning, if you go into HSD, you will smell like bacon for the rest of the day.

I live right across the street from this place and I can buy just about everything I need here. It's fantastic. Breakfast sandwiches are $3 and the perfect cure for a hangover. If you're getting a deli sandwich, drop the extra buck or two and get a medium or large. They are big enough for two meals (or one giant feast). The produce and bread are exceedingly fresh. Top-notch grocery items, including a great selection of Vermont products. Oh yeah, and they have a great, fairly-priced beer and wine selection. Can you maybe think about staying open a wee bit later? I think midnight would be fair. Hell, I'll come in and work the last two hours if you want. I don't know what I would do without you, Henry Street Deli Mart.

Best place for sandwiches in town. Manny and Dane are great. Big portions and cheap prices. In the summer they have kabobs and things to grill for a reasonable price. Lots of college kids come here and inside is always a fun scene.

Having moved in the past week, I was looking for a place to fulfill my usual 2pm breakfast needs in my new neighborhood. Based on the Yelp! reviews, I headed over here and was not disappointed. Fried-to-order ham, egg and cheese on an English muffin, and a 16oz. coffee for $4.50?! Yeah, Henry St. has a new regular. I'll likely be heading back for my 6pm lunch.

Henry Street Deli looks a bit drab, but don't let it deter you. The service is always friendly, and the food is freshly made and yummy. I'm on a gluten free diet, and they allow me to bring my own bread to make sandwiches for me. I'm glad to have HSD in the neighborhood!
