This is the worst food that I have ever eaten. Not the worst Chinese food. The worst food. The buttered roll and cold coffee that they gave me in the Mineola, NY jail in 1985 was better than this. Once, on a dare, I bought and ate a chicken salad sandwich from a one-eyed, ninety year old Mayan woman on a hot second class bus between Cancun and Merida, Mexico. In July. That sandwich was better than this beef chow fun. Pure poison.

There is something about this food that always make my stomach hurt. After trying 3 times (because it is right near my work) I have given up. Plus it makes the whole block smell like bad chinese food about once a week (when they're cleaning the grease traps maybe?) Ug... I have a stomach ache right now even thinking about it.

Had to throw out the crab rangoon after grease squirted from the opposite end I bit. The rest of the food - vegetable lo mein and beef and broccoli, were the worst china american food I've ever eaten, and that's saying something! There is another China express in the new north end and it's perfectly ok. Occasionally we'll order take out there and we find it more than acceptable.

The food is a better quality than most in the area, if you know what to get. The mei fun is excellent, and the vegetable chow mein is great (though doesn't have any noodles, it's veggies with broth and rice). Very fast, good service, and they've never gotten my order wrong.

ive lived a few house down from this place for about 3 years now. i never understood how this place was still in business due to the sketchy look of the place and weird hours. i swore i would never come here. i finally decided to pull the trigger the other day during the snow storm and placed an order. i walked down the street and was happy to see that the place was pretty busy. the inside was cleaner than i expected as well. probably the best chinese ive had in a while and definitely best in the area for the price and what you get, the meals are huge, probably enough for 2 or 3 people. dont let the outside fool you, for takeout chinese, this place is the real deal.

I'm going to keep this real. If you're not Asian or have never eaten at a legit Chinese restaurant, you'll probably order the "Americanized" Chinese food and be disappointed. Here's 50 cents from a Canto. Singapore Mei Fun, Eggplant with chicken, Moo Goo Gai Pan. Memorize that lineup. The key to Chinese takeout is knowing whats legit Chinese food and what is soy sauce doused Americanized Chinese food. Its like the difference between eating at a legit Mexican restaurant and taco bell. I'm satisfied because the food is quick and ready to go. I dial up the number on my cell, place my order, drive to the site, and pick it up. That's efficiency for this hungry student.

ok, I'll be blunt, because I was a lot more detailed in my review of the better China Express on North St in Burlington. Don't go here. It simply does not measure up to the other one, and is well worth the detour to get to the better one. Just don't. The other one is actually worth the trip into the Old North End.

Let's be clear - this is classic *American* Chinese. It's cheap, its sauces are gloppy, it's meats are often breaded and fried, and it's delicious. They make solid general tso's chicken and their egg rolls are pretty good, haven't experimented too much outside of there. It's pretty busy with takeout traffic at lunch time, so surrounding workers appear to be fans. If you just want a fix of cheap American Chinese food, they do it right.

A wise man once told me that the key to finding the best Chinese or Mexican food in town is to look for the place that seems like you shouldn't enter. China Express I will admit doesn't have much for curb appeal and for sure was at one point a Burger King but what it lacks outside it makes up for in the kitchen. I usually stop in for a quick lunch special and am never disappointed in the simple but delicious meals that they put together. So if you're in the area pop in and try for yourself.

Our go-to take out spot. I realize it's American Chinese food, but the quality is consistently decent and the service has always been fast and polite. Don't let the frightening appearance of the building fool you.

Not only they where an hour late but they brought the wrong order. I've been eating pepper steak for years and this was bad. I don't normal write reviews but I had to. To the owner: don't be to worry about loosing a costumer, worry about the quality of your food and I'm sure you these reviews wouldn't be negative. Thank you.

Thanks to other reviews, we pretty much knew what to expect and therefore, there was no surprise: A former KFC? Check. Customer service that reminds me of House of Horror? Check. Generous portions with good value? Check. Plastic forks and knives? Check. Respectably and reliably good food that was cooked to order? Check. Smell of grease that made our clothes stink for days? Check. We ordered egg soup, house fried rice, and beef and mixed vegetables with white rice and an egg roll, all pictured, for dine in. The lady at the front didn't even look at us when we entered, and the first thing she said was "Ready?" Although, the food was delicious, and I'd definitely go back.

This place is way too underrated and don't let the exterior scare you away. The few number of reviews, most of which, are negative reviews is definitely throwing off the rating. I've driven by this restaurant probably 1000 times until I decided to take the plunge and try it out at the suggestion of a local Asian friend. This place definitely gives off a really sketchy vibe. Apparently, it used to be a KFC, which has moved to a location down the street. The interior is...well... not super clean. At least, you can see inside the kitchen from the counter and see what the cooks are doing in the back. The restaurant offers a standard fare of traditional Americanized Chinese food e.g. beef and broccoli. If you are looking for authentic Chinese, you might be better off going to Zen Garden down up the street. The portion size is ridiculously huge. It can feed two adults easily. I've only tried a few dishes here and they were all decent. The food here isn't as greasy as some of the Chinese spots that I've been to. Large combo meals are usually between 7.50 and 8.25, making this place one of the few spots in Burlington that gets you a large meal for less than 10. I definitely think this spot has the best cost to satisfaction ratio in Burlington.

This review is for the Shelburne Rd location. Like others have mentioned, the outside is scary, but the service is great. The food is typical Chinese take-a-way. Portions are huge. Ask for the combination meal - cheaper, comes with egg roll and has plenty for two. Brown rice or low mein can be substituted for white rice. I usually get sweet and sour chicken and/or ginger chicken.

Great Food, excellent service and accuracy, also communications was very good, sometimes this can be an issue with the language barrier (on both sides) but they have always been accurate with my orders. I've used this place about 20 times for take out in recent years and turned several people on to them, I almost never eat there but the place seems nice and adequate for dining in. The people on the phone and counter are very pleasant.

The food is good for quick inexpensive Chinese food. Brown rice is available. The place is dumpy but worth the visit. I like Ginger chicken...fresh green beans.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
