I wanted to try this place because I had a couple of friends tell me how good it was. I'm giving it 3 stars to give it the benefit of the doubt because the food was good. I had the waffel burger, my kids had kids meal cheeseburger sliders. Both were good solid tasty pub food. Based on the food I'd reccomend it and eat there again hands down. The negative - We had to wait almost 2 hours to get our food. My biggest problem was not the wait as they (eventually)explained they had a problem with the machine putting in tickets. My problem was that no one came out to apologize or explain for almost an hour and a half and even then it was only because I asked. I came in with 2 kids under 5. I eventually noticed the people around me waiting for a long time so they knew when I arrived about the problem. It would be in the best interest of their customers and the restuarant if they would warn people. They also kept saying "any minute now" for about 45 minutes. It also made me wonder how they do when it's crowded because even if it was a technical problem they should have been able to recover. They were literally bringing people's meals out one at a time. On the plus side, they handed out iPads to entertain my kids and eventually comped my meal without me asking and apologized. I'll give it one more try. If the wait was a one time thing I'll probably be back a lot. If it's not, I don't think they'll be open very long.

Crave opened in Winchester the beginning of March is a space formerly occupied by several other establishments. Winchester natives will remember it best as Jake and Charlie's. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the service is wonderful. Our waitress was extremely attentive and helpful in ordering. The owner stopped by the table. When we told him we had a love of jalapeños, he brought us out a free sample of their house made bourbon pickled peppers. The menu is small but very original and picking was difficult. My husband settled on the Smashed Burger. I had the Philly. The burger was a bit over cooked....not at all pink (we had asked for medium), but still tasty. Next time we will order medium rare. The menu was a bit deceiving as we thought it would be stuffed with the garlic mashed potatoes, but they were merely on top. This did not detract from the dish. My Philly was good, but a little on the bready side. (All of the breads are made in house). I really wanted to try the apple fennel slaw, but alas they were out. I settled for the fresh cut fries. If I were rating on service and originality alone I would give Crave 5 stars. We will be back to try dinner. If you're sick of chain restaurants and want to try something new give Crave a shot!

Oh man....not a good experience. Trekked to the other side of town to try this place after seeing some good reviews. Wish our experience had been close to what the other reviewers had to say. Beer selection is really good. 2 stars for that. Off to a good start. The menu was obviously penned by a good writer. Everything sounded amazing. What we received was anything but that. The Thanksgiving chicken sandwich. The "stuffing bun" was so dry I knew it was going to taste awful based on looks alone before I even took a bite. The chicken was almost as dry as the bun. I was unable to taste the mango chutney that was supposed to be on there. That might have helped with the dryness. My friend ordered the portobello sandwich which was supposed to come with a "fried green tomato". It was what sold her on the sandwich. The tomato that came on her sandwich was red. It was not fried either. Next. My other friend ordered the Philly. The bourbon fried jalapeños mentioned on the menu were nowhere to be found. The bread (touted as being made in house) was ridiculously dry. We can read. Please don't put things on the menu that don't come on the plate. We love to eat and we came to spend calories. They were not well spent. One more pet peeve. In an effort to make a decision, we asked the waitress for recommendations. We got the usual "Everything is good here." So we instead asked, "what would you order if you were having dinner here right now?" She said, "I'm not very hungry right now." Seriously??? I hope others have a better experience. We all agreed we would not come back.

It's closed apparently, but their website says nothing about that. It should be listed somewhere.

Went to Crave tonight for a quiet birthday meal with just my wife. I had the Thanksgiving chicken sandwich with gravy for dipping and yams, and the stuffing bun was delish! My wife got the meat loaf and it was really flavorful. Great beer special, too! A great addition to the Winchester scene.
