let me just say i used to HATE potbelly. until my old roommate dragged me here for it was probably the third time, ever. its not that i dont like it, i just thought their sandwiches were too small. well, alas, i have been back many times since she had taken me. i still feel like the sandwiches are small, but i shouldnt be eating that much bread anyways. oops, allergy. they have revamped their menu and added salads (which i should be ordering but, i dont, i did once and it was really good). they also changed the prices of the sandwiches, as if they could get any lower. i guess for competition with subway? who knows. but subway sucks. yuck. i love that you can order the sandwich on skinny bread (1/3 less). i either get the wreck or the TKY (turkey and swiss). depending on my mood. now, the TKY sandwich is $4. seriously, okay! last time i ordered the vegetable soup, and me being, well, always in a hurry burnt the shit out of my tongue right before i had to work. ugh that was a long night. add lots of ice cubs if you get soup. they do order ahead, which if you need to get somewhere is really great because its always a coin toss on how long the line is...

I really enjoyed this place... My pizza sandwich on wheat really hit the spot. I can't wait to try the other options. Their selection of yogurt smoothies looked especially tasty, the Vanilla Oreo is still calling my name. A very relaxed, cozy kind of atmosphere. I'll definitely be back.

Move over Quiznos. Potbelly's may not be as widespread, but it certainly is a whole lot tastier. They sport the same price for every sandwich they stock, and is a very clean and inviting place. This one in particular sits in the ever popular new Fairfax Corner, right next to the movie theater. What else is nice, is that they sometimes have a live artist situated above you singing live and playing an instrument, usually a guitar. The staff is friendly. I think of how clean a restaurant is, by how clean the leave their public facilities, such as the tables, seating, and also the bathroom. This Potbellys has employees sign off on acceptability of the bathroom every hour, which when I last came at the end of the day, really shows.

Potbelly is a great spot for a bite on the run, but I wouldn't recommend eating there. It tends to get very noisy. The sandwhiches are good, but first time ordering was a bit confusing. I have tried the roast beef and italian and they were both OK. The best thing about Potbelly - Cherry Coke fountain soda. Yum! Oh, and the milkshakes are good too!

I love the simplicity of Potbelly's. One low price, a bunch of sandwiches to choose from and efficient staff. Toasted sandwiches are the way to go and they do it well. I BEG anyone to tell me if there is a place in this world that has cookies as good as Potbelly's.

Sometimes I come here just for the Sheila's Dream Bar, which is pretty much the best oatmeal-based food product ever invented. The sandwiches are great, too. Hot peppers! It's my second favorite sandwich shop... first would be Izzy's in Cincinnati.

It's convenient place to grab a bite before going to see a movie. The sandwiches are great and the best by far is the wreck. The place is clean but it takes a little bit of time during lunch time (just order online and pick it up at the store or come in early/late). This is not the healthiest food by far so stay away if you are trying to reduce your calorie intake. If you can resist temptation (sandwiches, cookies, shakes) and order a salad, sure that could be a healthy alternative. I always thought the guy on top of the booth tables playing music was kinda weird (hey...if that's your thing..make the best of it).

A decent place to go have lunch with reasonable choice for a vegetarian. They mostly have a decent veggie soup that I like. Prices tend to be on the slightly expensive side (relative to quiznos/subway) however the quality is much better.

  • Connie C.

Wow! sandwiches for $3.99! yuuuum! I love that they toast the subs, they are good sizes and the hot peppers they put on are pickled with carrots, which are really good. They have a good variety of meats. Fun little place.

Best place to go for a quick and delicious sandwich. Atmosphere is great, and I've never had to stand in line for more than a few minutes at most. Even when it's busy, they crank out food like it's nobody's business. I'm always up for a trip to this location.

Probably one of the most favorite places to go for Lunch because they have the online ordering system. You usually get all your orders right the first time, but make sure to check your bag because I've had a few times where I had to return for my drinks or sometimes they didn't give me all my sandwhich and soups that I have ordered. it gets REALLY busy during lunch time so be mindful that if you trying to get a seat during lunch it is hard and the wait line is REALLY long! If you are on a crunch time during lunch, this iS not THE PLACE for you! I recommend trying their shakes here! its so bomb!

Went to this location for lunch. This is a really nice one to go because in addition to good food, they have a live musician playing guitar and singing. He sounded great. The food, was awesome. I had a chicken salad sandwich...with the best garnish ever... bacon. Who can resist bacon? Bacon makes EVERYTHING BETTER! I will go back here and hope to hear the musician again!

Potbelly is one of my favorite sandwich shops. I have tried almost all of the sandwiches and haven't been disappointed with any. The Wreck and Italian are my favorites! The employees always provide prompt, polite service. The store is generally very clean and I like the local touches in the decor like the Mt. Vernon glass display.

Quick service, good sandwich (I got the regular-sized roast beef on a flatbread), friendly folks behind the register! My sandwich was delicious (good toppings to meat ratio, haha) but I didn't love the potato salad I got on the side. Something about the flavor was a little off for me and it was CRAZY mayo-y, which I know some folks may like in their taters but it was just a little much for me. There are a couple of outdoor tables available at this location in Fairfax Town Center, and otherwise there's plenty of seating inside. Line moves quickly, and it's a perfectly decent place to grab a bite! Plus, you can get dessert at Ben & Jerry's next door hehe. Convenient, decently priced, and friendly service? I couldn't ask for more... except maaaaaybe a slight revamping of that tater salad recipe.

Potbelly is a fun, casual sandwich chain spot, this one located at Fairfax Corner aside the large movie theatre, ice cream parlor and child play area. Seating is available inside and outside, both are good. Inside are an assortment of sandwiches prepared after you order, the best of which are prepared and placed in the brick oven as a signature. My favorite is the meatball sub, which includes a sesame sub containing several beef meatballs topped with provolone cheese, and served extra hot to perfection. Make sure you get the side of hot peppers as shown with every sandwich, this I have not found anyplace else. Drinks are standard snapples and sodas, chips and cookies offered as well. A great sandwich shop, some nights with Live Music and always family friendly!

Great location and clean. Food is always good here and staff is friendly. For some reason I think Potbelly's makes the best salads.

This Potbelly shop is always extremely crowded during lunch, so I have avoided it for the past few years. However, I do want to comment on their online ordering system. It is FANTASTIC. Incredibly user-friendly, eye-pleasing graphics, and so so easy to pick your meal choice and toppings. I've ordered online several times for delivery to work, and have been pleased every time. I love the option to put names on individual orders which makes it so easy to hand out the sandwiches. Delivery is always quick, friendly, and keeps us going on those long work weekends!

I always get the works sandwich and it never dissappoints and had their hand dipped vanilla icecream, my favorite food their sandwiches are always tasty and their root beer or cream soda in the bottle is sumptuous and a collectors item. you feell like you are in the 1950's, getting some soda pop for 50 cents! friendly service and they have milkshakes, how rare! wish they had more icecream flavors

  • Paula H.

This is a great place for lunch or a smaller dinner. I reccomend the meatball sub with hot peppers. Its so good! They seriously have the best hot pepper mix I have ever tasted. Next time I go in I will be buying a jar to take home. I have been to many of the different locations are their food has always been consistently good :) Their cookies are quite wonderful as well and the people are always friendly.

Potbelly is hands down one of the best sandwich chains I have ever encountered. I am rarely disappointed when I visit their various locations and this one is just as good as the rest. One thing I dig about Potbelly is the efficiency. They keep the line moving without rushing the customer. This is critical during the busy lunch hour. The staff is very friendly, which is not always easy considering they move things quickly. Some people may feel rushed, but the staff is patient. The sandwiches are to die for. They have unique combinations that aren't offered anywhere else. My personal favorite is the Wreck, but I like to mix it up from time to time and the menu makes it very easy to do so. The place is normally clean and the decor is cool too. Sometimes they have live music which adds a sweet vibe to the place. This location has nice outdoor seating so you can get your grub on and enjoy the view of Fairfax Corner. The only downside to this location is the parking. But this really isn't any fault of Potbelly's as it's the design of the center they're located in. No worries, I'd walk a mile to enjoy their food. Needless to say, I'll be back. *This business is gun carry friendly.

Potbelly, Thank you. We are short of deli's in Northern Virginia, and while you are a chain, you do an exemplary job of offering fresh bread, a wide selection of meats, and delicious toppings. I have yet to try many other things on the menu, but the "Wreck" and smoked ham are delicious! The locations can be a little heavy on decorations, but the eclectic feel isn't bad. It's pretty cool because on occasions you can catch some acoustic live music. Almost all the staff I have encountered have offered great fast and friendly service. Now with locations in Fairfax, Fair Oaks, Vienna you are never far and always blow the competition out of the water. Thank hod we don't have to go to Santini's for a sandwich anymore!

Normally don't eat here but stopped in because we were in the area. The place was filthy, poor employees, typical food. I had to ask for rags to clean my own tables and chairs. The place was mostly empty and everything was gross.

  • William T.

I'd rate it 5 stars but I'm not a big sandwich person. The foods was pretty good. I had a pizza sandwich. It was everything I expected but not spectacular. The best thing about the place it's that they make our easy to order your food and the have a dinner abd a movie deal with three local theater where you get a movie ticket for $8 if you eat dinner there.

Staff was friendly and eager to help. Farmhouse salad was tasty. Total bill was refreshingly low. But let's talk salad--less lettuce, more: radishes, red bell pepper, olives, peas, avocado, colorful fruits & veg. K?

I love Potbelly Deli! Oh, excuse me, their formal name is Potbelly Sandwich Works, but I like to call them Potbelly Deli. Because they are a wonderful example of how deli sandwiches should taste. They are creative, they are filling, they are excellent, they are nicely priced. My favorite is "A Wreck," which consists of salami, roast beef, turkey, ham & swiss. Strange name, terrific sandwich. You can also have this made into a salad, which is great when you aren't in the mood for the extra carbs. It goes like this: wait in line with the rest of the good folks of Fairfax; order your fav from the nice gentleman behind the big wooden counter; move on down the line until you get to the condiments area; tell the nice person behind the counter what you want or don't want on your sandwich; keep sliding down to the cash register and pay the lovely employee who is there to take your cash or credit card. All regular sandwiches are one price ($4.70) but you can modify your order by asking for a "Skinny" (less stuff and thinner bread) or a "Big" (um...more stuff) and pay a little less or a little more. Oh, and don't forget to order a milkshake. They are the real deal and even come with a tiny cookie propped onto your straw. While there, take advantage of the discount movie tickets offer when you order a meal. At $7.50 a ticket, this is a great bargain since full price at the Fairfax Corners Rave Theater next door is $11.00!

The best sandwich chain ! The broccoli cheese soup is always delish . Their sandwiches are never stale. The hot pepper is a must have. The employee are friendly and nice. The service is fast.

always a good place to grab a quick bite - people are friendly - prices have risen over the years (but remember there's no inflation) still competitive with other places though.

First time trying Pot Belly's! It was SO good, I don't know if it was because of just being hungry after doing an event in D.C. but it hit the spot! I had A-Wreck Sandwich on flatbread with lettuce, tomato, pickles and mustard. Highly recommend and I will be back!

For a chain, Potbelly's sandwiches are awesome. Very fast service too. My favorite sandwich at Potbelly is the "Big Italian," a delicious hot sub sandwich. Potbelly always offers delicious fresh-brewed iced tea!

Plenty seats. Upbeat background music. Fresh ingredients and fast service. Always add smoothie or shake to your meal and you won't regret it! Dine here to get discount movie tickets to the theater next door. Nothing to complain about.

Just ordered lunch online to pick-up for our office. I ordered a salad, it's okay. The worst part is that I didn't get ANY dressing for my salad. What the heck? This place is usually really good, but I can't really eat a dry salad and be happy about it.... :(

Boyfriend and I came in before going to see Argo at the theater next door. Of all the dining options, we chose this because 1.) I like the no fuss, not fancy place even though it's dark 2.) prices are reasonable for your customizable sandwiches and portions are decent 3.) they have movie ticket deals (which I think all Potbelly restaurants might have? At least this was the second one where we have taken advantage of the discounted ticket prices.) Food is prepared pretty quickly although I knew no one was making my salad as we progressed to the cashier. Even the cashier didn't even seem to notice that she was charging for things we clearly did not get. We had to remind her we placed an order for the uptown salad. I liked the salad. It tasted refreshing and great after the big pizza sandwich my bf and I shared. The salad comes with lettuce (cut into rather large chunks), candied walnuts, red onion, blue cheese, grilled chicken, dried cranberries, grapes, and apples. The pizza sandwich was perfect for a cold night like last; it had pepperoni, marinara sauce, provolone cheese, and mushrooms. We added some hot peppers. The bottled beverages are slightly more expensive than fountain drinks, but bf and I always select IBC products when we come. We also picked up two movie tickets ($7.50/ticket, I think), and I think bf paid about $30 for everything. I think the movie tickets are a good deal, and it's worth coming into a Potbelly for a good meal and discounted movie tickets.

I don't really like sandwiches, but Potbelly I can do. Service is quick and friendly. The sandwich options and ingredients are not crazy creative and unique, but all work well together. The breads they use on their sandwiches are very tasty and I love their skinny sandwich option for us girls who have to watch our weight more. Their milkshakes are very good too. If you are looking for a quick and satisfying sandwich, Potbelly is it.

Potbelly has a great product and its execution is very well done. Sure, the decor is a little hokey, but the food is very solid for a great price. Really, what else is as good for the price? And you can get in and out quite quickly, though this location is often quite busy at lunch, especially in the summer when the fountain's going. Sometimes it's hard to get a seat, but unless it's winter that's not such a big deal. I did the turkey / ham double deke for a long time, but have recently switched to the great new Mediterranean. Of course, any hummus described as 'zippy' is hard to really beat expectations, but it is in fact good. I often get it without artichokes, which can be a little overpowering. ***PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT*** They now accept online orders at this location, just like Chipotle. Place your order online, even pay if you want to, and just walk in and pick it up. Granted, it's always awkward to be apparently cutting in front of people, but if you can get over that it's a fantastic way to save time and effort at lunch. Proof of human progress, this.

It is good food, quick, and at a low price. If you want a quick lunch or simple dinner, you can buy a toasted sandwich and some chips. I like milkshakes and am not disappointed in the chocolate milkshake here. I've been to various Potbelly locations over the years. The food is always quick and tasty. On tonight's occasion I was looking for just a cookie after diner at another place nearby. As I walked into Potbelly, the cashier greeted me from across the room. Since I just wanted a cookie, there was no need for me to stand in line to order a sandwich, so I went straight to the register - which is what they expect you to do anyway - bypassing the line. There are two cookie choices, and the one I wanted, the sugar cookie, was not available. I was told they had some in the oven and they could serve me one, including cooling time, in about 5 minutes. We ordered and paid and the warm cookie was brought to us a few minutes later. She explained how she put the pan in the cooler to hasten the cooling process so they could serve it to us. It was a good cookie.

Wanted to get a sandwich fast without a hassle. Potbelly did the job. Walk in, look at the menu from a distance so you don't hold up the line. Decide what you want. Then step up to the line. The first person takes the order and puts the sandwich in a toaster, now step sideways to Person 2. Person 2 asks you what you want on the sandwich then passes you to the cashier with your completed sandwich. Order a fountain drink here if you want and pay. Three steps later and a maximum of eight minutes (They guarantee), you'll be eating acceptable food and then back to doing something useful.

Potbellys is my favorite place for delicious FRESH sandwiches, salads, and SMOOTHIES!! I especially love the butter cookies they place on your straw for your smoothies :) Not to mention, their oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are HEAVEN! I always search for oatmeal in my chocolate chip cookies and once I found them at potbellys, I was SO happy!! Not only are they freshly baked from the oven everyday, they have the perfect texture and taste (not overly sweet!!) Perfect amount of chocolate morsels and not to mention, they come in MINIs or a huge cookie!!! hehehehe Just thinking about them is making my mouth water right now! I think I'm going to stop by tomorrow :)

Oh my goodness, do I love Potbelly's. I just hate how it's so far from where I live but the question really is... Why can't I buy your bread?! I even went to the lengths of asking them in the store--do you sell just your bread? I love their wheat bread. It has the grains and nuts and so yummy when toasted. No other sandwich shop makes bread like Potbelly's. I'm addicted to the stuff. I don't know what they put in it (I'd rather not know. Ignorance is bliss) but keep on at it because it is wonderful. I really like their Skinny Pair. I usually get the Skinny Hammie with a soup. Less bread and meat. Healthier option? Kinda? Eh, not really. They have different toppings and my favorite has to be the Italian seasoning. Yum yum yum. This is a great location if you are going to the movie theaters in Fairfax Corner. Get your tickets-grab a bite to eat-and off back you go to the movies. The people are nice. I haven't had any problems with any of the employees. Please sell your bread! I'd buy a dozen of them a week if I could. jk.

Dear Potbelly's, I'm in love! Potbelly's is, simply put, amazing. There's a reason why I had my first date here! I have never been dissatisfied with anything that's on their menu, and that's saying something. Pizza Sandwich? Milkshake? Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies? I dare you to try all of them. My personal favorite is a Wreck on wheat with hot peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and italian seasoning. Mmm.. Potbelly's was the meal I grabbed before flying to Madrid last August, even though I was running extremely late; Potbelly's was also the first thing I looked up on google map when I decided where to attend college. Unfortunately, there is none in North Carolina... I plan on crying myself to sleep every night until the day I graduate, thinking of those dreamy sandwiches.

We get catering from Potbelly pretty often and their sandwiches are always great and super filling. I've tried almost every sandwich they offer and they are all really yummy. My favorite thing about this place is their pickled pepper relish. It goes soooo well with sandwiches. I like this location as well, the line is always fast and efficient. I guess the only negative thing would be that the tables are so close together, unless you find a booth, you'll end up sitting really close to the people next to you. There are a few tables outside where you can eat when the weather's nice.

I always loved going to pot belly back in high school. I still love going there. If you have never tried their thick creamy milk shakes, you are missing out on life. (jk...kinda) These milk shakes are sooo good and they come with a little cookie on top. I also love their chicken salad sandwhiches and you choose what goes on and what goes out. They also have great varieties of drinks like cream soda! I always love coming here for a yummy sandwich, made just how I like it.

I haven't had a Potbelly sandwich in years and never really thought to stop by one until last week. I was here on a Wednesday for the discounted movies at the theatre across the street and needed a quick bite. I am not really a fan of sandwiches (not really into bread) but I was famished so we ended up here around lunchtime. I was pleasantly surprised by how good my order of sandwich was. I had a "hammie" (swiss cheese and ham) on flatbread -- part of their "lite" menu offering. I had all the condiments along with my hammie except mustard. It was quite delicious, I loved my addition of hot peppers! The sandwich was of the right portion, not too much, not too little. The pricing was reasonable, for two sandwiches ("hammie" and the "Grilled chicken & cheese?" sandwiches) was around $12. There's plenty of seating which we sat outside to observe the view and watched fancy cars drive by fairfax corner so often. In terms of service, I thought they were quite efficient with our sandwiches, although I would've liked not having to repeat my order about three times to three different people. But I have to say, they have a great staff working there so I didn't mind. They are definitely friendly and helpful with smiles on their faces. For a large franchise like Potbelly, I was expecting a slightly larger menu, but I see can see why they do not need it and sticking with what they do quite well. If you need a quick bite to eat before your movies, this is just the place to stop by. :)

Potbelly's has quickly taken over as my favorite "fast food" sub shop. (subway, who? quiz-what?) I love their selection of subs, as well as their healthier options and alternatives. They manage to offer good variety, without making things too complicated. Also, they run a tight ship! You place your order at the beginning, follow your sub down the assembly line while it toasts to crispy perfection and then select your toppings (lettuce, onion, tomatoes, oil and Italian seasonings, hot peppers, etc.) I have recently fell in love with the Mushroom Melt skinny sandwich, it tastes exactly like a Steak n Cheese without the meat! Also choose from a yummy assortment of sides: cole slaw, macaroni sandwich, soups or chili's and of course, who could forget the shakes?! The staff is always friendly and efficient. Love this sub place!

Alright, my "Wreck" wasn't spectacular. The fact that there was a random guitarist playing and singing while I was there was unique. The menu isn't like immense or anything. My experience wasn't bad, but I don't understand what all the fuss is about. For the price in the same area I'd go to Chutzpah Deli instead.

My go to sandwich spot in the NOVA area! Sandwiches come in 2 different sizes here. If you opt for the smaller, I'd say to add a side or bag of chips for a full meal. If you order the larger size it's a pretty good portion. I almost always order the Italian sandwich, which is quite the solid choice. Ask for the hot peppers for your sandwich and you won't be disappointed! I recently tried the meatball sub and thought it was pretty good not great. The service here is pretty fast but if you go during peak time, you might have to wait a little bit. The milkshakes are also pretty good here but nothing extraordinary. The cookies are really good here as well. Always a good choice!

Ok... A big Wreck with lettuce, tomato, and oil and Italian seasoning......awesomeness! It took me a while to actually see the light and I truly like this place. Its a bit crowded at lunch, but that's because they are good.

when my friend first brought me here a year ago, I fell in love. i think everything is good from here except the shakes and such. the sandwiches, and salads are all good. i love how you an order online and just go pick up your food. you avoid the wait and the line. i always do this for lunch. this place is a must, especially for visitors!!!

I've always loved this place, and still do. But one time they took 10 minutes to make me 1 ice cream cookie sandwich. Are you kidding me? You put ice cream on two cookies and wrap it in paper.

This is my FAVORITE Potbelly location by FAR. Yesterday, I had basically the best experience at this Potbelly ever. First, I get the usual---a BIG wreck on wheat with provolone. I share that with a friend and it's perfect portions. second, I get a bowl of chili with onions....divine! dip the extra bread from the sandwich into here. Third, I got an ITALIAN salad, but instead of the Italian meats, I opted for the Chicken Salad...the reason I did this was because I wanted the red peppers, chickpeas, and artichokes..LOVE that they can do that for me without charging me! LASTLY...the BEST part...they had FRESH baked cookies made just an HOUR before and the chocolates were still melted and the cookies were still warm...we got 4 BIG COOKIES for the two of us. WOW.... SO AMAZING...and yet SO MUCH FAIL for my carrot/celery diet.

The sandwiches are okay at best. Honestly, subway hits the spot much better than this place. I gave this sandwich dump two stars because its clean, the staff are nice and the ambiance is pleasant. Quality of the sandwich is a bit disappointing: the bread taste as fake and generic as any subway, and the quality and quantity of whatever meat you choose is poor and dry. I will not be returning here unless there is nothing better to eat and I am starving.

I LOVE Potbelly Sandwiches! Never heard of them till I came to NOVA...I don't really know how to describe it. It's always consistent, which I love and delicious! I've always gotten the wreck or the italian thin wheat/large/toasted. The thin - allows you to have less bread (they scoop out the bread on the inside for those that are carb conscious!) The skinny - allows you to have less bread and less meat. It's not like a firehouse sub or quiznos, or subway or jimmy johns....i guess you just have to take my word for it and try it! the shakes are decent...it could be better it's just super cute with the cookies on top...wish they had just regular strawberry shake...

I love the location of this Potbelly's. It's right in a plaza- a very family oriented plaza (think kids). They usually have a musician performing in the restaurant. I love the decor here because its very ....americana? The line to order goes pretty fast...it seems like a very streamlined process. Very similar to Subways! The prices are reasonable and the sandwiches are amazing. I love the Italian because it comes with a decent amount of meat. You can also customize your own sandwich. Definitely recommend.

After constant nagging from my Potbelly's obsessed girlfriend, I finally gave in and gave this place a try. We shared a meatball sub, with hot peppers of course, and a tuna melt. The meatballs were tender and flavorful; the marinara sauce was pretty traditional, no surprises or letdowns. The tuna melt was ok, you might have to add salt to give it more kick. All in all, nothing out of the ordinary, just your typical well made sandwich factory. The whole wheat bread is a nice way to eat 'healthier', and the toaster machine makes miracles happen. If it wasn't for it's ridiculous name, I'd probably take this place more seriously. Oh yeah, it's better than Subway (duh).

Forget subway, forget Panera -- come here. One of the best fast food sandwich places I've been to in a long time. Its not your traditional hero (for you non-NY's, that's a sub), but man is it good. The sandwiches come in three sizes (skinny or thin, original, or big). I'm an athletic guy who has a fast metabolism, so I usually get two originals, but my wife can barely finish the skinny/thin. Note ANY sandwich on the menu can be made with "less bread" (aka the same size as a "Skinny"...they just call it a "thin" because "Skinny" denotes three specific sandwiches). They use mortadella on their Italian Sandwich, which for me means they rock. All the sandwiches come toasted and they offer the perfect compliment of toppings (though I avoid the peppers as I'm not a big fan). My default order is an Original Italian and an Original Meatball. The cookies are superb and my wife swears by the shakes. Parking (like all places in Fairfax Corner) can be a pain, so be prepared to walk or circle. The staff is great, prices are cheap, and the food is superb. Also -- I really like that they hire local musicians to play in store.

I love Potbelly. Can't resist a sugar cookie either. Can't think of a negative (other than when a worker adjusts their hat with their gloved hand and then touches my sandwich). It's pretty basic, but I still tend to go here more than any other sandwich place. I just wish they would have some topping that was more special. Maybe something like a guac spread like Jimmy Johns does.

When I visited in Fairfax, I had an amazing sub from this Potbelly Sandwich Works. And the most importantly their vanilla milkshake was supremely delicious! The services were great also! Perfect place to bring children too!

Great sandwiches and service. When you walk in, the line may be long, but the staff knows how to clear the line very quickly. Two sizes to choose from, original or big. The 'big' size isn't really that big, so don't feel intimated. If you feel like living on the edge and want something else, consider getting one of their cookies. Always soft and tasty. Every time I've been there, I can rattle off a list of toppings and the individual making my sandwich remembers them all without me having to get into that awkward follow-up conversation about toppings, "Lettuce... Tomatoes... no no pickles... yes mayo."

Man... [shaking head]. I really was excited about trying this place out. People have been raving about it. However, I was not impressed and sadly disappointed. For $4 something, I got the TKY sandwich. It is one of their "skinny" sandwiches and a little bigger than the size of a hot dog bun. You get to choose the bread (regular or multigrain) and the toppings. Honestly.... it wasn't that good. I rather go to Subway and gget like 4x as much sandwich for the same price. Totally did not float my boat. . . geez, it totally sank it.

Best sub shop of all the national chains. The wreck is an awesome sandwich.

The Wreck, the Italian, and the BLT were awesome. Oreo shake was delicious. Clean, fast. My new favorite chain.

Ok so its not a gormet sandwich, but i just can't see why i wouldn't give potbelly five stars. Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are incredible! As are the sugar cookies. Oreo milkshakes are awesome. And now come with skim milk making them healthy, right? Sandwiches come hot and with all the fixings. Plus now you can get them skinny or big or anywhere in between. You can get healthy turkey or go all out on something pretty bad for you (like chicken salad!) I like the options I finally tried my first potbelly salad and i will definitely give it a huge thumbs up. I opted for the wreck salad (since i've heard alicia g rave about it for so long!), without ham or salami.... or blue cheese... or egg. So really i got a pile of lettuce with tomato, cucumber, roast beef, turkey and croutons. It was still delicious. And i loved that i could get it exactly how i wanted it. Seriously.... there is no going wrong with Potbelly

Stopped by before a show to grab some quick food. The facility is nice and roomy. The decor is reminiscent of 1930's retro. I ordered a huge italian sandwich with a bowl of chili and vanilla shake. The sandwich was served warm. I especially liked the capicola included in it. The chili was decent and the vanilla shake was very good. Overall, a pretty good spot to grab a quick meal.

Our favorite place for dinner and a movie! They have a terrific, but limited, menu which simplifies ordering. All their sandwiches are first rate--you simply can't go wrong. I love the "Wreck" with spicy mustard, lettuce, and onions. Want to indulge? Go for their milkshakes--outrageous! Potbelly's are increasingly showing up in airports, too! If your airport has one, be sure to grab a sandwich for your flight! Sooooo much better--and cheaper--than airline food in a box!

One sultry word... cubana.... Hold up, it's not called a cubana?!?! It just feels like you are on some forbidden island, dancing around a campfire naked with toasty, yet soft bread, succulent cuts of meat, perfectly marinated pickles, and a tart slice of cheese? Okay, I have come to accept that the sandwich has a less seductive name... well, "the wreck." But the friendly service, nice atmosphere, and my active imagination make up for it.

A friend of mine took me here to try potbelly for the first time and with first impressions, i loved it! It had a really cool chill vibe and the menu was pretty simple. I hate it when I have to stare at a menu for a long time just to figure out what exactly they serve. I got the wreck, but the bread was a little dry. Lots of crumbs :) But other than that, it was a good lunch. For me, the cookie was the cherry on top. I'm going back, just so I can get another cookie. (haha)

Miss this place too! Potbelly remains my awesome back up food place. Except when it is my specific craving. :) But really, every time we got into the boring 'where should we eat, let's spend so long on Yelp that everything closes' mode - we could always agree on Potbelly. The sandwiches are so good, and can edge on somewhat healthy or possibly deadly depending on what you feel like. The peppers really raise them a notch, I think. I don't know what happens to food when it passes through the doors of an airport... but somehow the Potbelly in the airport is junk, and this Fairfax location is fantastic. So if you can hold out between Dulles and here, I recommend you do so. =)

Close tie between this place and Firehouse Subs for my favorite sandwich. Think I have to nod to Potbelly's just because it's in the FFX Corner. #1: The Wreck #2: Chicken Salad Soups are way hot (like burn your tongue hot), but pretty damn good. Shakes are awesome.

came here for lunch with some friends. i got the wreck which had all of my favorite meats with swiss. the sandwich came out nice and toasty and i added everything to it with more of the peppers on the side. also ordered a cup of veg soup to go with the sandwich. i also love it how they have ibc root beer and boylan black cherry soda, which i got. i do prefer this place much better than quizno's.

Potbelly is amazing. Can you name another place that can serve you a peanut butter and jelly, as well as a meatball sub? Probably not. Give it a try, now.

IMO Potbelly is superior to all other sandwich chains. It doesn't appear, or taste like a chain sub-shop. That being said, I received quick and informative service, and a very filling sandwich.

I like how their sandwiches are tightly wrapped, not much of a mess when you eat them. Price is good for what you get. We ordered the roast beef and 'a wreck', both was delicious~

I didn't even have a sandwich here. Came in for a chocolate malt... Made with real malt! It also came with delectable little cookies baked fresh daily. Such a treat in the heat of summer!

Since I had never heard of this place, I didn't know it was a chain. However, the sandwiches are still good! They have a pretty good selection of sandwiches which are very satisfying and come out nicely toasted. Also, they serve ice cream and their cookies are huge!

I feel like I've been doling out a lot of 5 star reviews lately. That probably signifies something, but I'm already over it. Moving on. I wasn't having the best day. It wasn't a horrible day, but it certainly wasn't a good day. I was hungry, I had just gotten off work, and I was exhausted. I was tired. I was so tired that I went home and promptly fell asleep. Anyone who has gone to sleep hungry knows that this means you wake up ready to eat your own hand. Now it's getting late and my mood has depleted even further. I felt like one of those characters on The Sims [come on, who's played it?] when one of their bars go down into red and then they start yelling at you to let them go pee, or watch TV, or sleep, or whatever. Heh, and then that one time, just for poo and chortles, you don't let them do ANYTHING and let ALL their bars go down into red just to see what happens and they pee on the floor and then pass out from exhaustion. ...Not that I have ever done that. [And I think it would be a lot more appropriate if they imploded and you had to deal with the repercussions.] Playing God can be dangerous. End scene. There I was, searching for a place to go get food that wouldn't make me feel like I had just ate a tub of grease, took a grease bath, and was left sitting in a pool of grease. Appealing, I know. But this is, generally speaking, what your food choices boil down to when it starts getting late and you don't live in an actual city or a college town. My food choices at home were almost non-existent because I hadn't been grocery shopping in a while. Besides, I was waaay too groggy to even think about cooking anything and waaay too hungry to be patient enough to cook something myself. Then I remembered that the Potbelly near here is open late-ish. I think that if you had been here you would have thought that I had just discovered an environmentally-safe fuel source. You would have actually seen the light bulb go on above my head. And then Wiley E. Coyote would have ordered a package from Acme and launched himself into a cliff. I drive the short way to Fairfax Corner, where this Potbelly happens to be located, and go in. I only need to peruse the menu briefly before deciding that nothing had ever sounded more delicious in the world, in all its history, than a meatball sub. So I order and the guy behind the counter says, "Ohhh, I'm sorry. We just ran out of meatballs." What? What?! Damn it!!! "You can wait, but it'll be about ten minutes," he says cheerily. "Oh, ok. That's fine." "You want something to drink?" "Yeah. I'll have an Oreo shake, please." "Coming right up." So I'm waiting in line as the people move through. I reach into my wallet to pull out my credit card and- "Oh, no. That's on us. Thanks for waiting." "What? Oh. Wow! Thanks!" I sit and sip my Oreo shake as I wait for my sandwich to be done [it didn't even take ten minutes]. I get my sandwich, thank them profusely, and walk out into the night, sandwich and shake in hand. It's amazing, what a small act of kindness can do to your mood. In the bigger picture, Potbelly isn't even all that expensive. I wasn't going to make a fuss about the fact that they were out of meatballs. It probably would have sunk my mood at bit more but I would have figured out something to order and eaten it and eventually things would have been fine. All that aside, I have yet to receive poor service [or poor food] from Potbelly. This location or otherwise. My sandwich that night, needless to say, tasted more delicious than any sandwich in the world. In all its history.

When I first moved to the area, there was one thing I noticed: These places were everywhere. There seems to be one every two blocks in downtown DC, and you don't have to go too far to find one in Virginia. Now that my apartment is within walking distance to Fairfax Corner, this one is a popular weekend-I-just-want-something-quick place. I've had a few of their sandwiches, and my favorite is the wreck, which is basically an assorted collection of deli meats with cheese, but it's hard to say no to that or the traditional meatball or turkey sandwiches. In addition to their sandwiches, everything else there is tasty. They have a number of bottled sodas available, including those from IBC, Stewart's, and Boylan. The only one I would say to avoid is the Cricket soda - it tastes like flat coke that's still carbonated. In addition to that, their shakes are great, if slightly expensive, and their fresh baked cookies are to die for. All in all, a great quick place to get something light before a Saturday matinee. Edit: One final note, the address is correct, but the map that Yelp has is not - this place is next to Fairfax Corner 14 movie theatre off of Monument.

I've been to this one in Fairfax and one in Downtown DC. It was a great experience both times. They have delicious and unique toppings and they are served on a long, thin sub roll. The chips that go with them are also a good brand, and they have lots of unique drinks. I got some kind of pomegranate-blueberry soda called Mash that went perfectly with the sandwich. I plan on returning soon.

With Potbelly's in the area, who would even think to go to Quiznos or Subway? The prices are cheap and the food is good. What more needs to be said? The first time I went there I wondered to myself, "man the music is pretty loud and it sounds like I'm there." As I turned around from my spot in line, I looked up. "Whoa, what the...?" Yeah so there's an artist playing live on top of the booths on weekends sometimes.

The best sandwich shop chain outside of primanti brothers in Pittsburgh. Great bread, well balanced sandwiches.

All the sandwiches (about 8-10 different kinds) are the same low price. There's something there for everyone- including kids and vegetarians. My favorite sandwiches are The Wreck and The Italian, but they have about 6-8 others, including PB&J. White or wheat rolls are available. The sandwiches aren't super huge, but are plenty to fill you up. They also have a few salads, but I've never had them. Just judging by the quality of everything else I have had I'm pretty confident they're good. They have good milkshakes and the cookies are yummy, but best of all... They make ice cream sandwiches as you order them by taking two of their yummy cookies and putting a big scoop of ice cream between them. So awesome! They have both bottled drinks (including some less mainstream sodas) and Coca-Cola fountain drinks. The line at lunch can get long but moves incredibly fast. Casual atmosphere, but clean and well maintained. If you come at lunch there may just be a musician playing up on the loft.

I've been to this location of Potbelly many times with my son. Usually we just go in and get a couple chocolate malts after we eat lunch at Coastal Flats or someplace else. The malts are really great! A couple months ago, I decided to order a sandwich too. I got a ham and swiss and asked for yellow mustard (not the hot deli style). They don't have it. What kind of sandwich shop doesn't have plain old everyday mustard? So, I won't be eating sandwiches at Potbelly again until they get yellow mustard. I even wrote the company and they said they'd take it under advisement, but I never heard another word and they still don't have yellow mustard. Wonder how many other people don't go there because of this seemingly tiny little issue?! A great place for sandwiches (if you don't want yellow mustard), great cookies and malts, neat atmosphere, great prices. Still...meh!

Eat here about once a week because it's cheap and near my girlfriends work. Both me and my girlfriend always find that our turkey subs taste a little fishy. Used to think maybe it was because they keep the turkey near the tuna or something. But recently found out that they use sweet pickles which mixes with the mayo creating a fishy taste. Other than that this place is really good and has a wide variety of drinks (which i LOVE) and amazing cookies. Just wish there subs were a little bigger, but you really can't complain for 5bucks!

I like this place. The location is good. The lines move fast and with the courtyard across from the store, there is plenty of outdoor seating. I recommend the Wreck sandwich.
