This is my least favorite Thai restaurant. I've been here several different times and finally we decided to never go there again. We'd rather give our money to a Thai restaurant that deserves it. The first time that I went there, it was ok. The second time I went there with my daughter, there was such a bad smell at the table. I tried to figure out where the smell was coming from and it was coming from the table! The towel that they use to wipe the tables were not clean. The smell happens when you leave water on a towel constantly without washing with bleach! It's called mold and mildew! Remind you, this is where they're putting your food and utensils. I can only hope that they don't wipe down the counters in the kitchen with that same towel. So, the final time I went there, the service was rude. The service sucked the second time as well. I think the restaurant closed at 10pm and we got there at 9pm. We just wanted to try and get something good and close by. Once we got there, they were rude. They told us that they closed in an hour, I told them that was fine. Any Thai restaurant that I go to doesn't take long to cook your food. I guess they weren't happy with that, so they told me that I needed to hurry and order my food because the kitchen is going to close at 9:30pm. Is it just me? I thought they close at 10! I guess, the employees don't care about the owners making money and them making a tip because it seems that the employees start shutting things down at 9:30 just so they can leave at exactly 10! Oh, and I've also did delivery once from there too! There website says free delivery 3 miles with a $20 minimum purchase. My house was 3.75 miles away. They called and told me that next time they're going to charge me $15 because it is more than 3 miles away. Let me say that was the last time I ever got delivery. The fact that I ordered $30 worth of food and that they actually check the distance before leaving. They just don't have a good business sense with customer service. I don't know what the owner is teaching the employees. It seems the longer this restaurant stays open, the quality of their food and the service just slowly keeps going down.

Party ordered the crispy beef and it was ok. It came out on a sizzling plate with fresh ginger and shredded carrot. My drunken noodles with pork was the not too spicy and the highlight. The customer service was outstanding and better than ever! 1-dollar refills for thai iced coffee still standing strong! :)

I thoroughly enjoy their Drunken Noodles, Panang Curry, Pad Thai and Kapow. They are one of the few restaurants that I have programmed into my mobile phone.

Great Thai food with excellent flavors. Not boring like some other places. Definitely one of the best in Northern Virginia. Tom Yum soup is outstanding to start.

I would give Sila Thai a 3.5. The selection was not as great as Star Thai or Sakoontra in Fairfax. However, the dishes my friends and I ordered were very good. We got the chicken pad see eaw, shrimp pad thai and shrimp and pineapple fried rice. The portion sizes were very generous. However, there were only 4 shrimp in the pad thai. Though tasty, some of the noodles were clumped together in a ball. The shrimp were well cooked but had not been cleaned well-not deveined, and was a bit of a turn off. I just happened to discover this restaurant after doing some grocery shopping at Shoppers on my home from the Dulles Expo Center. Not bad at all and worth a try. Service was decent, though not great. The decor was good-nice tables, orchids and warm red walls. Huge tvs for you sports fans out there.

for being in Chantilly and comparing it to other thai places nearby this is the place to be. My fav is anything pad sea eau.. they give you a decent portion even for lunch, and I add my spices afterwards.

Ate here the other night and thought it was a pretty good choice for a strip mall restaurant. In fact, it was on par with the regular Thai places in my neighborhood in San Francisco. Food was fresh - not as spicy as I like though. The service was good. The menu was a bit limited, but it had good variety regardless. If I am staying in Chantilly again and am in that mall area with a craving for Thai, I'd check it out again. But then there was this hookah bar next door that was enticing. . .

This is a decent lunch destination only because there aren't many other Thai options in the area. They have a inexpensive lunch menu and the Pad Thai and Panang aren't half bad.

Not oustanding, but not bad. They deliver, so plus there. Tasty food, but kinda oily. The extra oil wrecked my stomach. But having a delivery option when stuck in the office is nice.

Definetely one of my favorites. Good portions, nice atmosphere, not pricy and ofcourse the food! Try the seafood combination in red curry with coconut milk!

This is your average Thai place. The Pad Thai isn't anything special but they do have some very good dishes if you can find them. Check out their Crispy Beef if you like basil. I've never had a problem getting Delivery from them and if you buy over $50 they give you a free 2 litter bottle of Coke or Pepsi (whatever they have ATM). I don't have a lot of choices for delivery where I live but this is a staple for anyone who is in the area looking for delivery.

It's convenient because they have an online ordering system, so during lunch I would order online and it'd be ready by the time I got there. My favorite has to be the drunken noodles with extra peppers, but sometimes it has a very salty aftertaste. In my opinion, it's decent thai food but the flavor is not always consistent especially the take out.

Don't get Pad Se Ew! Noodles overcooked, tofu dry and hard, dish was tasteless. Place was packed when I picked up my carry out.

Absolutely delicious! My family and I go here regularly and are never disappointed. The service is always terrific, even on crowded nights, and the food is always wonderful. Sila Thai is definitely my favorite choice for affordable Thai in the DC area. I recommend the chicken curry puffs, num tok (spicy beef salad), and panang curry. Yum!

a solid 3.5 stars. like other folks say, a standard thai place. good somtam and tod mun plaa! i wouldn't go out of my way to go again, but i wouldn't go out of my way to NOT go again, nah mean?

Very nice food. I was there for a carryout. The food was served almost instantly within 5 minutes. I like this place and would definitely go again and recommend to others.

I've been putting off reviewing Sila Thai. My wife loves Sila Thai. I like it.... but I don't think I can quite give it five stars. The food at Sila Thai is really good. They have a lot to choose from, and a lot of it is good. My favorites are the green curry with chicken, the Tom Yum Noodle Soup with chicken, and the Sweet Basil Taste with chicken. For the most part, I enjoy the food I've had there. None of it has really blown me away though. That being said, I really do like the place. The service is decent. The decor is really nice. The prices are reasonable. Since my wife likes it so much, we got there a lot, and it's been pretty reliable in delivering decent food for a decent price. Overall, I recommend visiting Sila Thai. I don't think you'll be blown away by the food there, but you'll probably like it. Enjoy!

The salmon grilled in banana leaves is absolutely the most delicious thing ever -- juicy, tender, what have you. Drunken noodle ain't too shabby either. Pad thai, however, is pedestrian. Fortunately, Thai coffee was ... scrumptious.

Delivery: Good Food Overall: Fair I ordered :: 1- mango sweet sticky rice: considering 4.95 price- I was hoping for more mango on the side. (wayyyy too little compared to other restaurants that is) 1- Green Curry: I should selected "Thai Hot" instead of "2 pepper" spicy level. Next time, I will try "Thai Hot" to see if it'll 100% satisfy me. 1- Pad Thai: I really did not like it. I've had better at other restaurants. The noodle was way over cooked, the noodle itself was too short. I care a lot for the texture of the noodle! It was edible and I was really hungry. I am going to try another menu next time! :)

Let's make this quick. Below average Thai good at average prices. Just went here to grab something quick to go for lunch and take back to my office. After tasting my green curry W/tough beef, I should have spend my lunch hour better and went to the nearby KFC. Remain 3/4 of dish now at bottom of trash can.

Pretty good/average thai food for Manassas area. Their noodle dishes are good- i.e. Drunken noodle or Pad see ew. Don't bother with their curry (it's not well prepared). I would go to Sila if I were in the neighborhood and in the mood for thai.

I really enjoyed my lunch here yesterday (Saturday). The chicken curry puffs (appetizer) and chicken panang curry were delicious and the wait staff was efficient and friendly.

After waffling a bit, I decided to give Sila Thai a solid 3 star, borderline 4 review. Maybe i will return and revise it to a 4. I've eaten here twice for a late lunch (around 2pm). They weren't crowded either time, and service was good. I do like the decor, and the restaurant was spotless. Both times, I ordered the chicken kaprow lunch specials, which are served with chicken lemongrass soup, house salad with peanut dressing, or a spring roll. My husband ordered the chicken panang curry. The first time, I got the salad, which had, imo, way too much dressing. And the dressing tasted just like the sauce on the Chicken Panang Curry dish. The second time, I ordered the lemongrass soup, which was much better. My husband ordered the spring roll each time; he says it tasted fine. The chicken kapow tasted good, but it wasn't great. I had fantastic chicken kapow at a thai restaurant in another city, and have yet to find a similar dish here in NoVA. The chicken panang curry also tasted fine. If we're in the area and craving thai, we will return. But we won't go out of our way to eat here.

I've eaten here a few times and usually order in from here as well. Usually the food is amazing and the service is top notch. The last few times we have ordered they seem to have dropped the ball. I've seen this happen to restaurants which have a false sense of arrogance and then begin to think they're god-like and flawless. Let's face it, no one is perfect and restaurants make mistakes from time to time, but that's where their true character shines. So I ordered one time and they sent the wrong lemongrass soups along with the fact that they were cold and disgusting. Then, to add insult to injury, they insisted that they sent the correct soup and I was wrong (even though I was looking at the soup directly and I told them I wanted the Tom Yum soup, specifically the soup without coconut milk) so after them being angry that I had even called, albeit after I left the driver a 25% tip, the "manager" finally agrees to send the soup. After 1 hour the driver finally shows up. He looks at the soups he had originally brought and apologized because even he could see that they were wrong. So I thank him and take my new soups. Now to my surprise yet again this soup is full of a rediculous amount of inedible lemon grass. Like half of each soup. Needless to say I didn't eat it and called them back and they said they were deeply sorry for the soup and also for being argumentative earlier. All though the "manager" wasn't the one that apologized. So they credited my account and that was that. So the following week I had ordered from them again, and this time they forgot completely about one item. Called and spoke with the lady who took my order and she put me on hold for 10 minutes and then the same "manager" from last week answered and instantly began talking to me like I was stupid. Then after 10 more minutes of him bickering at me he finally agreed to send the order. At the same time a friend of mine showed up and they ordered more food from them. They delivered and it was alright. Yet again it took forever for them to get it right and they made it seem like it was my fault. Here's where it gets crazy. Called a couple weeks later and then attempted to make an order. They first said that we are out of their delivery range. Then after another 5 min of holding she said that we don't want to deliver to you and would you really want a restaurant that didn't want to deliver to you to deliver?? I hung up the phone immediately. How can a place in customer service survive with this arrogance. When a restaurant begins to develop this sense of attitude, it's the signs of a sinking ship. So long Sila Thai... Response from the owner: Hello, Atif A., and Jennifer A. My name is Ukrit. I am the manager at Sila Thai Cuisine. I am truly sorry about the bad incident. You are right that we make mistakes but we always try to find out what append and fix it ASAP. I did not know about the last incident (I went to a supermarket) that a server told you that we will not deliver to your house impolitely. That's not true. We will always want you as a customer. I have no idea what happen with her. Why would she said that? It's not acceptable. I will make sure that the person who did that to my customer will no longer working here. I hope you will forgive us someday. Sincerely, Ukrit Manager Sila Thai Cuisine My Response to that: It's funny, ironically theres no where that I wrote anything about my Fiance, Jennifer and that they knew exactly who this was. What makes this sound even more shady is the fact that I specifically told the lady on the phone that I would be leaving a review on Yelp, and she then informed me that she did not care. That site is irrelevant to us, is what she said. Ukrit, see I would be more obliged to believe you, but I have had an annoying experience with you as well. You're the one who practically screamed at me on the phone and told me that I was wrong. Also, since you knew specifically about this issue, maybe you should have called and gave us your apologies then. It's a little too late once the review gets posted onto Yelp! To add insult to injury, her and I were both very sick that day and were actually looking forward to your Tom Yum soup. Clearly with the attitude that was given to us, we didn't receive our soup, nor did your business want our money. The lady that was on the phone that day, specifically told us that she spoke with you, and said that you had told her that we give too much trouble and didn't want to deliver. Like I said before, I've enjoyed your food, and I understand that people make mistakes, but it's exactly this attitude that your restaurant is developing that causes business to tank. Good luck.

So far this is my favorite thai restaurant in the area. We got the pad thai and panang curry. Delicious. Now only is food good, the prices are nice and low. Thai Basil doesn't hold a candle to this place. My only knock on the place is that service can be bit slow.

It was noon on Saturday and I was craving some pad see ew. There was one problem: I was in Herndon. The two Thai restaurants in Herndon were either closed for lunch or no longer in business. Luckily Sila Thai was not too far. There are lunch special available on Saturday and only cost $8.95. The entree comes with a salad, soup, or spring roll. I chose the last one. The spring roll tends to be on the more vegetable-ly side. The best I have tasted are at the Vietamese restaurant next door. The pad see ew wa light on the broccoli, which some people may prefer. The pork was tender and the noodles had the perfect smokey, carmelized taste. Here's a tip: Always ask for extra chili sauce. They will bring you a condiment carosal of four different types of sauces/condiments. For the spicy meek to super spicy. I would love to come again to try their new dim sun menu.

This place seems to be our "go-to" while at work. I always order two of the Thai Ice Teas and a Panang Curry Chicken. The food is pretty delicious and I've never had a bad meal from there. Things are made fresh and taste great. The only reason I knocked some stars is the delivery time. The amount of time it takes to get something delivered is atrocious. For instance, we ordered this afternoon, after 1PM (well beyond the normal "lunch hour") and it took over 45 minutes for them to deliver. I could almost drive there and sit down and eat in 45 minutes. The service in the restaurant is very fast, not so much for delivery.

this place is packed at lunch time. i do love the mirror on the wall though... you can check out someone without directly looking at them :D food is good but not great. the tomato in almost every dishes are like the size of golf balls... the waitress with the short hair always has "my vibrator ran out of battery" look on her face. not very pleasant.

Quality has gone down over the years; they're really aiming for the middle these days. Still decent though. Thai Basil down the road is better (right now)

I've never eaten inside the restaurant, but this is our go-to Thai place for delivery. Pros Order delivery online Fast, reliable delivery Good Pad Thai (Fried Tofu, Beef, Chicken and Crab meat) Tasty green curry Cons So-so Drunken Noodles Everything is good, but I'm still waiting to try something from Sila Thai that is above average.

Delicious! Love Sila Thai. I always order from here while I'm at work, but I know they have a minimum $ amount for delivering, but I never worry because everyone wants to order from Sila all the time. Pad Thai is good, HOWEVER the green curry (veggie or chicken, etc) is to die for. I love spicy items, and I do want to try the red curry at some point, but for now, green curry is where it's at. Definitely try Sila Thai out - you won't regret it! Mmmm.

This place is a Gem! One of the nice things about the DC area is the variety of asian restaurants. Yes, this is Franchise city because most independent owner operators can't afford the taxes. That's why there's an Appleby's and Ruby Tuesday's at every corner. Sila Thai will not disappoint. They have an extensive menu of Thai favorites and they switch it up with daily lunch and dinner specials. You can also order on-line and they deliver! Try the Sizzling Beef; they have a great selection of fresh seafood entrees as well. You can go in casual and feel very comfortable The staff is friendly & personable and the prices are reasonable

We are visiting for another gift show this weekend and this will be our 3rd time back. Love the massaman curry with tofu...just enough heat, spice and creamy coconut sauce. Dan enjoyed his simple dish of shrimp, pineapple and cashew stir fry. No time for appetizers we wanted to head to trader joe's...an out-of-state treat for us. We were turned on to Sila Thai from other craft show vendor friends. have been in with larger groups and everyone consistently enjoyed the food and atmosphere. love the sweet mango sticky rice!

Standard fare, a little saltier than other places. Thai ice tea was smaller than expected.

  • Ger P.

We had lunch at Sila Thai and wanted to like it, but there were just too many things that weren't right. Our beef curry's potatoes were nearly raw, not good at all. It would have been a decent dish, but raw potatoes? Even I can properly cook potatoes at home. The duck soup was just not good; just duck with instant duck paste in the soup for flavor. The duck was tasteless and there weren't many vegetables.

Came here for lunch. The decor was very nice, and the sinks in the bathroom were cool, if you're into that sort of thing. I had the drunken noodles lunch special with the included lemon grass soup. The soup was very lemony and not as balanced as i would normally prefer. The drunken noodles were presented well, but lacked a depth of flavor. They also were not particularly spicy, but that might have been my fault for not being clear that i can take the heat. Definitely a good, solid lunch option.

    (3)
  • Marshall M.

Try out this place again with my friend for lunch, just simple drunken noodle, ( no more coconut milk curry for my tommy ). Service was friendly and fast, food came out less than 10 mins ( really really fast ) My food was hot, smell a bit char from heat of the wok, less oily, portion of the meat was generous @ lunch. Definitely a good for fast simple lunch.

I've gone here a few times with my in laws, and also with my hubby separately. Pretty decent thai food for being close to the in laws house. Crispy Beef w/ Crispy Basil is AMAZING. Their Pad Thais are very good - better than the norm Pad Se Ew - this is NOT good here. Too goopy and the noodles are too doughy. I've had better at Tara Thai and other thai restaurants.

  • Susan J.

What? She won againist Bobby Flay in his pad thai throwdown?!? I've gotta go here and surely enough it did not disappoint. Ordered the chicken pad thai medium hot and it was delicious! Not too tamarindy sour and with just enough chili kick. Try to get here just before noon. It's a pretty tiny place so it does get packed here like sardines.

  • Lillian N.

I usually get the either one of the curries or the soups and have to say the food is actually pretty decent. The food doesn't really amaze me but it suffices for whenever I have craving for Thai food. The best part of this restaurant is that has online orders/ delivery which is very convenient and differentiates it from other Thai restaurants.

My 2nd favorite thai place, amazing chicken pad thai great flavor and out of 30 or so take out orders its always the same, GREAT!!! Kapow or sweet thai basil & beef is to die for along with there pineapple fried rice. Usually like trying different dishes after going to a place time after time but those three is all ive had as i just cant help myself not ordering chicken pad thai, beef with sweet thai basil and pineapple fried rice. Cheaper than other thai places but does not show in the quality and flavor. Recommended it to family and friends and all share the same opinion after giving it a try:) Cant vouch for anything else on the menu but those three dishes but really have eaten over 30 times and wont stop either lol

Got a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint. I tried their Ginger iced tea and it was potent with a hint of lemon, ginger and honey. full burst of flavor, pow! my friend had the Kapow! chicken and it was spicy,I had a nibble....and though I liked my dish, this would have been more satisfying I decided to be adventurous and not just order my Thai staple, Panang curry. I ordered the Sizzling beef ( chef's special). it was good, slightl sweet and served on a hot platter. the beef was ample and fresh... the service was good and fast and the decor fairly sumptuously orange.... overall it did not disappoint and I would like to try some more dishes I am not familiar with...

No. of People: 7 Drinks: 1 Ginger Lemon Tea(Loved it), 3 Thai Iced Tea(Good), 3 lemonade, punch (ok) Appetizers: 2 Platters (Dumplings, Spring rolls, Shrimp blankets) - Loved it but only complain is less portion. But they compensated the Main Entrees with humongous portions. 1 Chicken lemongrass soup - It tasted more like tamarind water with the right amount of spiciness. Entrees: 2 Chicken drunken noodles (spicy & non-spicy) - The spicy level is not appealing for everyone but I like spicy food.. It's good and better than other thai places in the area. 1 Red chili String bean with Chicken - A big NO NO. 1 Crab-meat Fried Rice - Probably the best fried rice we tasted in any thai restaurant in the area. 1 Country Fried Rice with Chicken - Fried rice flavor tasted same as the crab one so it was a hit too. 1 Yuki Yaki Noodle Soup with Chicken (Spicy) - Bingoooo. It can serve up to two people and probably the best noodle soup I tried in any Thai restaurant not just in the area. A must try at this restaurant. Bill: $112 including tip. Bottom Line: A go to restaurant if in the Chantilly area. When I started writing the review I gave 4 star but my 5th Star is for their Noodle Soup. Will definitely visit this place to try other noodle soups.

Stopped by for lunch on a Sunday with a group of 8, which usually is a lot, but the restaurant accommodated for us easily. The pad thai was pretty good and the house salad dressing was interesting. Still deciding if it was in a good way or bad way, either way I ate all of it so couldn't have been that horrible. I took a bite of the fried rice, which was also good. They have a lunch menu (even on Sunday!), which brought the price down to about $9, but there were enough leftovers. Will definitely come again for another try.

Overall I'd give it a solid three stars; I ordered online and it went really smoothly and was ready right when I got there to pick it up. The drunken noodles could have used a little more character but were still tasty.

I had Thai dim sum here two times and the dishes were small, yet tasty and filling. It's not the same as Hong Kong style dim sum, but that's not the intent anyway. You won't order the same number of dishes due to price but it's different and unique enough from Hong Kong dim sum. The curry puff, stuffed chicken wings, and the soup are good choices.

I've only visited this place for lunch, but have been many times. I usually get the chicken in garlic sauce and it is amazing! It is very authentic and so tasty! People I go with usually get the green curry which they enjoy thoroughly as well. They have a great lunch special which is an entree with a choice of a side salad or spring rolls. I always get the salad because I'm a sucker for their peanut dressing! Delicious! They haven't let me down yet!

  • Dave C.

Having a spouse with a severe peanut allergy is a great way to stymie your Thai consumption. (Not your consumption of Thai people; as far as I know, no-one's ever gone into anaphylactic shock by eating an Asian human.) So when the opportunity came up to introduce three of my ankle-biters to the joys of Thai food, I bundled them all into the Caravan of Odyssey and trucked to Sila Thai. Good choice for their first Thai experience, as it turns out! We ordered the vegetable Pad Thai, veg green curry, panang salmon, and veg spring rolls for tasty mains, and mango with sticky rice and fried banana with coconut ice cream to prove that there's life after chili peppers. Although I heard a few complaints about things being "too spicy, Daddy" the food was all-around excellent. The Pad Thai was a firm favorite among the elementary school set, while I thoroughly enjoyed the panang and green curry. The desserts were equally good; I hadn't had the fried banana before...but will again! I can't really fault Sila Thai at all. Service was swift, friendly, and accommodating, and the whole place was clearly well tended to. So we'll be going back. Maybe this time I'll take some glasses of milk along for the kids...

I have tried most of the Thai offerings in the Chantilly area. This is by FAR the best Thai in the area. The food is authentic, taste fresh and is full of flavor. In addition, the portions are large (great for breaking up into several meals or sharing). Also, they offer internet ordering that is has a good user interface and works well. We have ordered from them multiple times. Each time the food was of high quality, hot, and arrived as promised. If you visit or live in Chantilly and like Thai, then Sila Thai is a must try!

  • Kari S.

Great curry! I have only ordered for pickup and delivery so I cannot speak to service inside of the restaurant. Every time we've had our food delivered, it has come as ordered, hot, and in the time quoted. Their curries are fantastic and their sweet basil taste is great!

  • Kimmy M.

I really enjoyed lunch here - I had enough to take with me and have for lunch the next day! The food was GREAT, the portions were generous and the service was good (not great, but good!) I was there for a business lunch and it was quiet enough to sit and talk to the people at the table without having to shout. And it was easy to get a table even at the heart of lunch hour.

I am a HUGE fan. I went for the first time and had something traditional and it was just okay. The second time I tried the Beef Noodle Soup and I was hooked. They also have different flavors (chicken and pork). They also have duck noodle soup which is pretty good even though I'm not a fan of duck. I am a big fan of Thai style Pho (beef noodle soup) and theirs is absolutely the best. In comparison to Vietnamese pho, Thai pho is already flavored and has a sweet taste to it. I just add a TON of the dry chili because I love spicy spicy food. I work in Tysons but will drive ALL the way out there for lunch because I crave it daily. Service is fast and overall good atmosphere. They also do Thai-style dimsum. Only tried the seafood shumai which was delicious. I think they also do beer specials and happy hour specials.

Lunch Specials are great my boyfriend and I frequent here most weekends since you can get the lunch special even on the weekend. The food is high quality and when you ask for spicy they will comply. Overall very good food at a good price.

Went here once for dinner after hiking. The decor and atmosphere was nice. No one gave us bad looks for being under-dressed even though we were in athletic clothes and had a bit of dirt on us. The vegetarian green curry was ridiculously good. It was some of the best Thai food I've ever had. My boyfriend liked what he had okay but I think it was quite a bit too spicy for him. The green curry was definitely really spicy too, but I like it that way. A little more than we usually spend, but a deal for how great the food was (about $30 for two entrees and a soda). Would definitely go there again if we were in the area.

I realized here...that I don't really care much for Thai food. My dish was spicy (drunken noodles) but plentiful. I think that if you like Thai...you will like this place.

YUM. order here from here on a hung over sunday after danimal's epic LHC party. (large hadron collider). i had pad thai (2 pepper) dan had panag curry (three pepper) and we shared some spring rolls. huge portion of noodles. i really liked it. and two pepper spice was just the right amount of heat. dan really liked the panag curry, as he has had it many times. the residents of beech down drive swear by this place...they have never steered me wrong before!

Over the last year or so, Sila Thai has become our local go-to for thai food both because of their expanded menu and because of their incredibly simple online delivery ordering system. The quality of the food is nice and consistent and there are interesting choices that have caused me to stray from my normal Thai selections. I don't have a lot of experience eating in the restaurant, but the delivery process and quality of food has been quire reliable.

Its really hard to be objective when reviewing Sila Thai, since Courtside Thai is pretty much the same distance from my house and far outshines Sila. Then again, there are very few restaurants that can compare to courtside. But if i ever need a change of pace, Sila is a good option Located deep in the Metrotech shopping center, the parking lot is typically packed, especially when I've been there on a Thursday and the backyard grill is loud and bumping. Park around front and walk. The walk will be good for after when you're full. My typical Thai dish is Pad See Ew, which I've had here and was very good. Not too oily and a nearly perfect sauce to noodle ratio, only slightly heavy on the noodles. On my most recent visit i expanded my horizons and tried the garlic beef. It was very good, with nearly perfectly cooked vegetables and a great garlic flavoring. And the best part is that there are multiple ice cream offerings in the same complex. There's a dairy queen and a Milwaukee frozen custard. There's nothing better with Thai food than ice cream :) So any place within walking distance of it gets an extra vote from me!

This is the best Thai restaurant I have ever been to. The service is good. I've been here 9 to 10 times and the waiters here are always around to ask if things are good and what not. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. They remodeled the restaurant and it looks very nice. When my family and I go there to eat, we usually order the Crispy Duck (I tried this dish at other restaurants and they do not COMPARE to Silla Thai's crispy duck). It is DELICIOUS. I crave it every two weeks, it's absurd. Their pad thai is never soggy and the flavor is exquisite. We've tried their dishes with curry, too. They're good, but nothing too special. Their thai ice tea is sweet and refreshing. We've ordered other dishes too, but we usually stick to pad thai and crispy duck and never get bored of them :) WOO! I LOVE THIS PLACE!

Not horrible, but not that great. We went with friends who swore it's the best ever (that should have tipped me off...they're great is usually my blech or meh). The country fried rice my friends' got was ok (I've had better). I got Pad Thai, and it was pretty tasteless with hunks of the bottom of scallions in it (not tasty or appealing). I might go again if I were in the area and friends wanted to go...but I sure wouldn't touch the Pad Thai. It'd have to be the rice. What is worth the trip is the Milwakee Custard that's close by. Awesome custard! Service was efficient and good.

We happened to be in the neighborhood and stumbled into Sila Thai. Always up for a new Thai place! The interior is really nice and we were impressed with some not-as-common items on the menu (sundried beef, pandan wrapped chicken). Given the other reviews here, we might have just been here on an off night. My husband ordered chicken krapow and I had "Country" fried rice with seafood (something they claimed was a chef specialty). Krapow (basil chicken) was okay, the heat didn't have any flavor to it - it was just hot and seemed well out of proportion to the amount of pepper actually in the dish. We're both fans of spicy thai food, especially the flavor of bird chilis. It wasn't too hot - it was just "wrong" hot. If that makes any sense. The actual rice in my fried rice was good and smokey. The Seafood (especially the squid) was flavorless and chewy. It was like it had just been sprinkled over the top of the dish and not actually cooked with the rest of the rice. Both the grilled chicken rice paper wraps and the shrimp cakes were really good. But nothing we had really stood out enough to make us want to come back and check out more of the menu. It wasn't that the service was "bad", it was just oddly inconsistent, especially as soon as they got a little busier. I had a ginger iced tea (which was great) and never got asked if I wanted a refill, my husband on the other hand had his coke taken off the table and refilled at the bar every time it dropped an inch. When we're in the neighborhood again I don't know if we'd give it another shot or not. I'm definitely intrigued by the less common dishes they offer and hope it was just an off night. They also advertise a "happy hour" special where Monday through Thursday from 3 to 5 pm you get 20% off your whole tab.

We actually were hoping to stop by at Three Thai Sushi but it's now closed for lunch on Saturdays and the same with Thai Basil. Turns out we wished we would have waited a couple hours for either of these places that would have been open for dinner. The decor was pretty nice and me and my Thai wife were pretty hungry for some good food. It started out great with some genuinely friendly faces and pretty good appetizers. She had som tum that was pretty good even though her request for spicey was not obliged. So here we are with Appetizers that were pretty good and then the entrees ...enter the Twilight Zone ... I had Pad Prik King (beef) as always I do with a new Thai place . It looked in color as the beef had been boiled, one taste of it and it was very strange the texture was right, the color very wrong, the smell was slight of bad meat and absolutely zero taste. It was surreal almost like getting a Novocaine shot at the dentist and touching your face and not feeling your hand. One of the worst beef dishes I've had in my life so that equals 0/10. Her beef noodle soup, having the same beef, had the same issues. The broth was not to bad but she said other places were much better with the tastes, she described it as having hints of sweetness. It's obvious they are using cheap ingredients and/or meat passed or near to it's usable date. Keep the decor, the floor staff and fire the cook and whoever manages the ingredients/purchases them. She gave it a 2 / 10. We couldn't wait to leave ... I did eat most of my rice and my string beans but had a big pile of beef left on the plate. When the waitress asked us if we wished to take it with us we be both said "no" in unison ... it was pretty funny. I'll chalk it up to two bad dishes this many positive yelpers can't all be wrong. Jokingly I asked her if she wanted Kentucky Fried Chicken and now wished we would have stopped across the street there. For me about 50 Thai restaurants in the region and this would be the last one I would go back to. Sorry but for us Sila Thai will make our stomachs wretch when we pass by you to the Lotte market.

I won't take a lot of time with this review because this place isn't really worth it. It's located pretty far off the beaten path for me so I probably wouldn't go back here anyway, but it's also less than mediocre in my opinion. The restaurant it'self is very pretty and the service was acceptable, but my food had hardly any spice at all and neither did my friends'. She even specifically asked for her food to be "Thai hot." Also, it's pretty expensive. I have heard good things about this place, but it didn't impress me at all and I won't be back.

Tried the Pad-see-ew with tofu. Slightly weak on the sauce/flavor but good overall. I was hoping for Chinese broccoli but overlooked the entree description in the menu where it did say just broccoli (I do like regular broccoli too though). They give a good size portion and have a neat online ordering option. Ambiance-wise, the place seems clean (had take-out) and the people seem fine. For $7.50 +tax, this is a decent lunch option. I would come back to try other items for this price.

Three stars for taste. Nothing tastes bad but the dishes seem a tad underseasoned. But if you have issue with that, then just ask for the spice rack and spice it up yourself. I'd prefer to be served an underseasoned dish instead of an overseasoned and salty plate (which is the case for most Asian restaurants). Five stars for price. They have excellent lunch specials here, even on the weekends (which is rare). Service is great too, they're always prompt about refilling my water and asking if we're okay. I've even come here with a large group before, and they did not hesitate in re-arranging the tables to accommodate us. Four stars overall. Not the best Thai food around but the other Thai options in the immediate vicinity taste average, at best. I've been here plenty of times and despite my three-star rating for taste, Sila Thai is very consistent. I recommend the pad thai and the drunken noodles.

From decor to service in general, everything left room for improvement. It has a weird vibe, not very comfortable at all, I really wish we'd gone elsewhere when we sat down. Three of us arrived around 1, there was only 2 other tables in there at peak lunch time so that says something too. Our server was nice but the other ladies "working" were next to the bar blocking the way to the bathroom giggling and tossing things back and forth, not cool. I had the #5 off the lunch special: chicken with sweet basil sauce (kapow)**-the stars indicate spice level..this wasn't spicy at all. It was scorching hot but once the temperature dropped to a normal level- absolutely bland and flavorless, unless you count salt..because that was the only thing I could taste. AND now I have a raging headache and that only happens when I eat large doses of MSG, so whatever the Thai equivalent to that is..there was a ton in the food. 2 stars because our server who actually did her job and not screwing around was good and the price is great- 3 lunches for $26. But, sorry Sila, I will not return.

2.5 Stars. Typical thai restaurant with typical decor. Service was pretty quick and friendly, but the food wasn't the best. The curry puffs were good, but the pad see eaw was very bland and disappointing. The boat noodle soup was also very watered down and did not have the rich beef broth flavor I was expecting. The highlight to the trip was the fact that the Thai tea was only $2.95 with $1 refills! Good deal and awesome in my book because I am addicted to the stuff. Everyone deserves a second chance, so I may consider coming back some other time to try other dishes such as the curry to see if it will be a little more exciting for my taste buds. Based on other yelper's reviews, it looks like this place lacks consistency, so maybe they were just having a bad day?

Perhaps a little pricey for the amount of food? I don't know, whenever I order to-go I always feel like I'm being ripped off of the amount. Except if I'm ordering like a burger or something that obviously comes in one size. I ordered the spicy chicken fried rice and tom yum soup. I actually really liked the fried rice! It had a spicyness to it that had a good kick with every bite. It also was not too oily like some other places. Would definitely recommend the fried rice. The tom yum soup was also pretty good. I loved the mushrooms and chicken in it. It was a good tartness to the soup.

Not sure what happened to my favorite Thai lunch spot, we used to do Thai Tuesdays where we'd order takeout for lunch. The lemongrass soup tastes more like water now, where did the lemon/sour flavor go?

I have been a regular Thai food fan for over 10 years. I have never had a problem with it. On a day when we were in the mood, I decided to try out Sila with my family because the location was convenient. All of our food was BLAND as could be. I used my usual spice from the spice tray and asked for some fresh Thai basil, which made it taste better, and the texture of the chicken was pretty good. Unfortunately, it made me sick the next day. Will NEVER go back.

Just so bland. We ordered 2 entrees that were supposedly spicy (drunken noodles, basil fried rice) and both had no flavor. There's a lot of Thai places around here. This place is probably off our list of places to order from.

Spring rolls were best ever. Tom yum (chicken) was good but could have had more heat. Chicken and veggies way more veg than chic but I like it that way. Glass of wine and meal was above average. Serve was very attentive. Will be back.

3.5 stars. Decor is nice, service is good, and food was enjoyable. I had a fried tilapia with tamarind sauce and I was really happy with it. The veggies on the side (broccoli) was meh. Everyone else seemed happy with their food as well.

Very slow service. The staff out numbered the customers, yet we had to call over the staff several times just to order and get refills. The floor was also littered with food from previous customers. It didn't look like they had cleaned all day. The table tops were at least mostly clean. When the food came, we had to go find our own silverware. The food wasn't bad but it also wasn't great. I would call it middle of the road at best.

I've been here three times so far because of the convenient location- it's right between my boyfriend's and my work. However, the food has no consistency. I always get drunken noodles with chicken here.. the first time it was bland, second time it was salty, and the third time was okay, but not spicy at all. My boyfriend got pad see ew last time and it was lacking in flavor and had two tiny and sad looking broccoli. The spring rolls we got were crispy... and that's about it. Not much flavor to those either. Oh and the tables!! They have the worst tables I've seen in a Thai restaurant. The tabletops are so sleek that the water cups move around by themselves.. and our table was slanted so we had to constantly keep an eye on our cups. We had a dangerous moment when my boyfriend put down his cup and it slid ALL the way to the end and almost fell off... thank goodness for his quick reflexes, or the cup would have crashed to its death.

The prices are ok but the food is not up to par. The food should be free. These people need to learn how to cook food with love and not just to sell. I wouldn't partake of the disgustingness again. I threw away half of Panang Curry I got here.

Best Panang Curry Chicken I have had since Tarin Thai closed in Herndon. Their deliveries aren't always the quickest, but damn their panang curry is good. I have ordered that dish at every Thai place I've been to in several years since Tarin was bought out (and the recipes were changed) trying to find some place that had panang curry at the same level, all to no avail until now. Make your deliveries arrive quicker and I'll bump you up to 5 stars.

I tried to order a delivery and waited for almost 30 minutes before calling the restaurant only to find out they had canceled my order without ever calling me. I've been about three times, and each time I've been, the pad thai is delicious. The service, however, is not great. Maybe because it's week nights I've been and it's been slow so the "A" team isn't on. Either way, I will keep going back because it's so tasty!

My office ordered Sila Thai for lunch yesterday, such a great change to the typical pizza and subs we usually order. I really like the option to order online. When we are at work, it's really nice to have the ability to stay off the phone. Sadly, the order took about an hour and a half to get to us. Its lunch, and its NoVA... but we were some starvin' people by the time it got here. The food was actually very good. I am pretty confident it hadn't been sitting in the "window" or the driver's front seat for all that time. It was hot, freah and overall pretty damn tasty. I had the Chicken Kapow (sweet basil) with white rice, and the lunch special came with a small salad. I enjoyed every bite. My co-worker got the Pork Drunken Noodles; she really enjoyed her lunch too. I feel like we will be ordering from here quite a bit in the future, but I know now to order lunch about 2 hours ahead of when we want to eat.

Boo. Ordered at 5:15 for delivery. They came at 7:00 and we told them to take it back since we we starving and had already started cooking. We called at 6:00 and 6:30 and they told is it was on the way each time. At 7 we gave up and made our own dinner. Too bad as this place had a lot of potential. On top of it there was no apology just that they were busy. They handed us our food while they called the owner to figure out what to do when we said we weren't paying and then took the food and said they were taking it back and that they were busy so that is why they were late. Weird and bad service.

I went here last night with a group of 6 people. They gave us 1 minute to order, seriously one minute. If they were going to rush us this much they should have told us they were closed. we ordered soup and a couple of apps as well as a few entrees to share. Everything came out at once. NOTHING tasted good. I was quite upset. We ordered everything spicy, meanwhile everything came out super bland. The food was seriously cooked in less than 4 minutes. While eating, 4 of the guests were waiting for water, or some sort of service( we waited for our waitress to finish eating her meal so we could get served. Bottom line, HORRIBLE/RUDE SERVICE and NASTY FOOD.

Not bad, not great but not bad. Nice place, for a strip mall in what must be Chantilly's restaurant row - Pho, Afghan, Thai, Hookah lounge, Sports bar and Little Caesers all in the same building. Ordered Fried Tofu appetizer - a touch drier than I like, but a very generous portion. Had the Chicken Pad-See-Eaw, again a little dry, a bit too mild but a nice portion. Saw other dishes going out to diners - all looked good and decent size. Nice people and good service, just a tad ordinary.

I'm traveling and stayed at the Hampton Inn. Since I'm flying out tomorrow I do not have transportation and needed delivery. The minimum is $20. I ordered medium spicy Pad Thai with soft tofu and Pineapple Fried Rice. Figured I can have rice for breakfast. The Pad Thai is mediocre but peanut sauce ($2.50 for a small container) made it better. The rice is fantastic. I took the shrimp and tomatoes off and it was a refreshing light meal. Be sure you are extra hungry or there is more than one of you if you do delivery...lol...I'm wasting a lot of food.

I ate here with my wife and daughter and it was a very positive experience. The restaurant was clean, the service was terrific, and most importantly the food was wonderful. The calamari was some of the best I have ever had. They have a dim sum menu on the weekend which is quite nice. The waitress spoke poor English and mixed up a part of our order by bringing us a larger dish than we had ordered, but they let us keep the larger dish and only charged us for the smaller one. Overall we would be delighted to eat here again.

went in for a quick lunch and the pad thai was a bit bland. I got it with beef, the beef was the highlight since it was juicy but the pad thai noodles themselves were a bit greasy and needed more flavor. But the staff were friendly enough to make up for it.

Average Thai food. Still, they have easy parking, good service, and a wicked fast kitchen. Their red curry with duck was a tad sweet for my liking, but the Wild-Dish (#24 on the menu) had the right amount of spice. Sliced pork is sauteed with chili paste and bamboo shoots, with Thai eggplant thrown in. Lemongrass, lime leaves, ginger, and basil leaves give it a pungent flavor. Pork was too dry, but Sila Thai gets credit for using Thai chiles hot enough to make me sweat.

I can't speak for whether this is the most "authentic" Thai food available in the area, but from me they get serious thumbs up just for $1 Thai iced tea refills (even if I don't take advantage of the additional sugar injection). I'm a huge fan of drunken noodles made extra spicy. If I did have one complaint it would be that they are too conservative on the spice levels, but on the plus side they are consistent (I have seen other Thai restaurants vary greatly in spice levels from visit to visit). If you do like your food to come out hot, make sure that you specify, "THAI HOT." It may not be the hottest you've ever had, but it's definitely good. The Pad Thai is also good, but again, if you enjoy spicy food you will probably find it bland. As above, order it "Thai hot" and it's sure to satisfy. Servers are always friendly and we've never had to wait on a table. If you're in the area, give them a try - you won't be disappointed.

I know you are probably wondering why I have checked in to this establishment so many times if I am just giving it three starts. Here's the thing...it it literally the closest Thai place to our new house. So when that urge hits and I don't feel like picking up, this is our go to. More often than not they get the order wrong. I had Ka Pow with mixed vegetables after requesting extra peppers. Their soups always seem a little too salty for my liking and I usually put them on the stove with extra water to simmer some of it off. The drunken noodles are clumpy. We usually stay away from them unless my mother is over. But overall, it's usually worth the trip out to get something else.

Sila's is our go-to Thai place for takeout - though if we were sans-brood it's also great for a date. The staff is always friendly, the order is always correct, and the environment at the restaurant warm. The substance, most importantly, is also great. Over the course of 5-6 visits or take-outs, our notes follow: The spring rolls are just fine - nothing remarkable but also just what you'd expect. The sauce which is allegedly home-made tastes very good - you might consider asking for an extra. On a lark I tried the tofu triangle which I found interesting, tasty, and filling - try it if you're looking for a new appetizer. The Tom Yum and Tom Ka soups are very good. The Lemongrass soup is sour - get your pucker ready there but it is excellent - one of my favorites. The Tom Ka coconut soup is also especially good. I suggest if you're ordering with your better half get both and each tries them, they're very good. The Phad Thai is serviceable, nothing spectacular. With this dish - it's always better fresh out of the pans, so although I've always had this via take-out several times I'd suggest withholding judgment until you have it there. Via take-out, acceptable is the best I could give it. Panang is very good here and worth it - the sizzling beef tasty though expectedly heavy. We're a fan, we'll continue giving them our business...in fact I'm thinking about tonight.

3.5 stars. I ordered the stewed beef boat noodle soup. The broth was delicious - not too sweet and had the dark rich broth that I love. I would give the dish a 4 star, but the beef was very tough and the meatballs have a slight odor. Not all Thai restaurants serve this dish...so I'll be back for more Thai boat noodle soup when that craving hits again.

I used to order from here when I worked in the area. I forgot how delicious it is! Okay, so I ordered Red Chicken Curry and The Beef Wild Dish. Ahhhh, so yummy! Red Curry 3.5/5 - I remember loving it more the very first time I ordered it than this time, however, it was still good. My only issue with this dish was that it was a little too much on the sweet side. Next time I will try the Green Curry. Also, I think the Red Curry would be excellent with Shrimp! Wild DIsh 4/5 - I loved it!!!! I really did. It was actually my favorite out of the two. I ordered both dishes Thai Hot and this one was a bit spicier than the Red Curry. I didn't mind the spiciness though, in fact, I wish the Red Curry was a bit spicier. The Beef was a tad on the chewy side, but I didn't mind it much until I re-heated it. It was slightly painful because I'm currently suffering from a "jaw-thing" so chewing and chewing wasn't exactly the best idea. I ordered for take-out and received very large portions, I had some left over for lunch the following day or so later. I'm not sure if this is strange, but I started mixing the Red Curry sauce with the Wild Dish sauce and it was AMAZING! It was just about the perfect combination of sweet and sour. I will absolutely be going to Sila Thai again for my Thai cravings. Staff were also very sweet and charming! They also have options to order online - how tech savvy! Definitely check this place out. It will not disappoint!

Had dinner at Sila Thai last night on the way home from work. I've been meaning to come here any number of times - truth be known - there have been several times I was planning to try the place - and then at the last minute I diverted to Viet Crystal - which is next door - due to my ongoing and insatiable lust for Pho Ga! It was just after 5:00 pm when I arrived and the place was empty - the servers sprung into action, seated me and presented me with a menu. As is usual with me - when trying a new Thai restaurant, I'll revert to my faves: Tom Yum, Som Tom, and Kee Mao Gai. I ordered the Tom Yum with Shrimp - and the Som Tom (Papaya salad) and the Kee Mao Gai (Drunken noodles with chicken) - at a 4 spice level (1 being little spice - 5 being Thai spicy - the hottest spice level available), and a glass of water. The soup came out first - it was a solid soup - tasty - yet not as spicy as I like. I should have requested that they kick up the spice level on the soup as well. The Papaya salad came out next - very nice mixture of spiciness and sweetness with the dressing - yet it seemed to be missing just a bit of the lime tartness I've come to expect from good Papaya salads. Again - I would have expected the heat level to have been more pronounced with a request for a 4 heat level. Their Som Tom includes one grilled shrimp on top on a skewer (I'm more of a fan of the Som Tom style where the tiny dried, brined shrimp are sprinkled throughout the dish - which this version lacked). Finally the Kee Mao Gai came out. I visually scanned the dish looking to see what they spiced it up with - again - I prefer it when Thai restaurants put the sliced Serrano Chiles right into the dish - it makes it really hot when that approach is taken. I could see no Chiles at all in the dish. So they used some sort of spices. The flavor was excellent - the noodles had that savory, richness imbued into them from all the flavors of the dish, the onions were nicely caramelized, the bits of spinach, tomatoes, and red and green bell pepper were all cooked just right - I would have liked a little bit more chicken. Again - the dish was not spicy hot by my standards. The service was prompt and attentive. The decor of the place is warm and inviting - nice ambiance. Would be a good place for a dinner date assuming you both like Thai! The Men's Restroom is clean and modern looking - very interesting sink and a nice tile border trim color combination adorns the wall. I will definitely visit Sila Thai again - next time I will ask for a "5" spice level and make sure they know I want it hot baby! Damn hot! Sidewalk hot! Crotchpot cooking baby! (How many of you know what that is a reference to?) :-)

This review is for their "Lunch Specials" menu. Just went here for lunch and it was pretty good. My lunching companion and I both did the Lunch Special which is your choice of Appetizer and Entree. The appetizer choices are Spring Roll, Salad, and Tom Yum (chicken lemongrass soup). There are about 10 or 11 choices of entree, all the standards are on there...Drunken Noodles, Green Curry, Red Curry, Panang Curry, and Pad Thia. Servers were very friendly and food came out fast. You can easily be in and out within your lunch hour, even if work is 10 minutes away. I got the Tom Yum and Green Curry Chicken and my lunch buddy got the spring roll and Ginger Pork No complaints from either of us. And the pricing can't be beat, only $8.95 for lunch specials, which after tax and tip will get out an awesome lunch for about $12.00. It's no Thai Luang, but definitely good enough to be added to my lunch rotation.

The food that I have ordered is great, the chicken lemongrass soup is tasty, the pad thai is good and you get a lot for your money i can't eat it all in one sitting, the dumplings are really good too. I would recommend this place to just about everyone, pretty reasonable on prices too.

Don't care for their food, except they have an amazing Crispy Basil Beef entree. It is awesome and I don't know of any other Thai place that offers this or makes it as good as Sila. It's crispy chunks of beef with crispy basil. Goes sooo well with rice and some of those pickled green chilies. They give brown rice so I usually order the brown. Delicious!!!

I have been to this place many times over the last few years. For awhile there we were pretty regular. I've ate in the restaurant and ordered delivery from them, both of which were good but I prefer to eat in the restaurant. My boyfriend alternates between the Sweet Basil Kapow thai spicy and the Spicy Basil Fried Rice. Both of which I have sampled and are very good, we both are big fans of basil. I usually order the Thai Style Noodle soup with chicken which I really love. The broth, all with exception of once where it tasted a little off, is always good. The perfect amount of noodles, lettuce, broth, bean sprouts, and sometimes they do skimp on the chicken but its so good I barely notice. It has good, healthy flavor and the chicken is cooked well. This soup is also a reasonable price at $7.95, although I don't really recommend it for delivery, it is much better in house because the noodles taste so much better when they've seeped in the broth. I've also ordered this with beef which is also good. I've also had the Miso Noodle Soup, the Meat Balls noodle soup, the Sweet Basil Kapow mild, thai dumplings, the jumbo triangle tofu, the Sizzling Beef, and the crispy beef with basil. I did not enjoy the meat balls noodle soup, but I'm really iffy with seafood, I like it but it depends. Both sizzling beef dishes are out of this world good and come highly recommended. I also love the amount they give you, taste, and price of their thai iced tea. I absolutely love thai iced tea and they are $1 for refills which is good because thai iced tea is usually a bit expensive. My boyfriend and I haven't been in awhile and definitely need to return. The service is always friendly and attentive. I'm opening up more and more to spice after being a wuss for so long. This is an afforable place in a comfortable setting and the place is really cute inside. The online delivery is really easy to use and the food arrives very quickly. Can't go wrong with reliable service. The only thing I could do without are the mirrors, they make me feel self conscious.

We were looking for an excuse to get some custard at Milwaukee Frozen Custard, and lunch nearby seemed like a good enough reason, so we headed off to try Sila Thai. The place wasn't too busy, but it wasn't empty either. The service was good and the food came out quickly. The Chicken Curry Puffs were a nice starter, they were similar to a samosa, but with chicken as well as potatoes. We all got the lunch specials, and either the soup or the salad would be a good choice. I especially liked that the salad dressing had a little bit of heat to it, not a lot, but just enough to make it more interesting than your usual peanut dressing. The pad thai and drunken noodles were both pretty typical, and the panang chicken was a bit above average. Overall a good bet for thai food, but not enough for us to make the trip from Vienna on a regular basis.

I always get the red curry chicken and it's delicious. I've also tried the pad see-ew with beef and it's also very tasty. No complaints! Inside is pretty nice, but I usually take out.

Been a while since I dined here, I used to go every few weeks cause their crispy beef with basil is amazing. Not too sweet like most other restaruants, which allows you to really taste the basil. Don't remember their menu being very large, if I don't remember what app that I had then it probably wasn't that mind blowing.

3.5 stars I was pleasantly surprise by Sila Thai. Thai restaurants are all over the place and I usually go into a new one with a pessimistic attitude, especially since I couldn't find many reviews of the place, but Sila Thai exceeded my expectations. I had been on the lookout for a good thai place in the Chantilly area and hadn't yet found one. Fortunately I've found my place! I've had the duck and various noodle dishes. The duck was nice and crispy with a good sauce (maybe a tad salty) and all noodle dishes have been well prepared. They could stand to generate a little more heat in their dishes, especially when asked or when the menu implies a high level of spice, but overall flavor and quality was quite good. They offer an excellent deal at lunch time with combos that include a choice of spring roll, soup or salad. I will go back to Sila Thai many times, since I work in the area, but I wouldn't make a special trip for it. There are just too many other, equally good, thai places out there.
