The service here is horrible. It took forever for the waitress to come take our drink order. We decided to order off of the menu, rather than wait in the long line to make our own bowls (we were on out lunch break). After she dropped off the drinks, it took another 10-15 minutes for the waitress to come back to take our orders. Another half hour to 40 minutes later our food starts to trickle out, however, she forgot someone's order. It finally comes out when the rest of us are almost done. Not once were we asked if we wanted refills on our drinks. When we asked for our checks, we had to tell the waitress out orders again because she forgot to put them in the computer. The food here is okay, but not worth the headache of the horrible service.

Great concept, horribly executed. It's almost as if they have a new manager and new staff because the lack or organization showed at almost every turn. I actually glanced over at some of the reviews on the side while I began to write, and was in awe of how similar Larry N's experience was to ours. To quote him, the following are all accurate: "All the meats seemed like they've been sitting out for hours. There is a major sanitation issue with this restaurant. The floors were incredibly sticky. The lady at the sauce station had real bad attitude. I've attached some photos of the burnt food we got." Just a dirty place, some bad attitudes (except for the manager), burnt food, and complete disarray. ***10/27/2013 Update*** Regional manager contacted me after I submitted the same comments directly to Genghis Grill and sent two free Bowl certificates, asking us to give them another try in a few weeks. We did this past weekend and I have to say, it was somewhat of an impressive turnaround. The staff was much better organized, the facility much cleaner, and the ingredient stations much better tended to. There is still a bit of work that needs to be done there, my girlfriend's bowl came out with white rice instead of fried, my bowl was a bit burnt, especially the meats........but overall I give them another star (up to three, from two). We were really impressed with our waiter though, which made any indiscretions somewhat bearable . Carlos was very polite, very personable, and very attentive........all with a smile :)

Another middle of the road franchise joint in NoVa. It's a 'build a bowl' stir fry joint...just what we need in NoVa. There is nothing unique or outstanding about this place. It's a bit pricey in my view. They do offer outdoor seating which is a nice option.

It's a lot of fun to create your own meal. If you're indecisive, you can grab one of their little suggestion cards for some ideas on bowls you can make. I love having the options between rice and noodles; udon is my favorite. Their adult beverages are tasty, too. Try the bright blue dragon one in a fishbowl. It looks absolutely ridiculous, and I loved it. The hosts, servers, chefs, and bartenders are all very friendly and helpful. They give you suggestions and help you with the process if you're new to the establishment. I've been four times in the past year and I don't get tired of it. With so many options for combinations, it's impossible to try everything, but I'm certainly trying.

This is a new weekly go to place for me and coworkers. Hands down you can build your own Asian masterpiece the way you like it. The best thing is that the meats you can select are pretty good quality. Much better quality than regular Chinese restaurants. You can also select the sauce you want and also how much sauce is applied. They used to have shrimp, but don't any longer because the price of shrimp has risen. So the good thing rather than raise the price they just took it away. I would rather keep paying the regular price anyways. Service here has been better as well, I guess they must have hired more people.

This place is great. It's not fancy but the food is worth the price you pay. They have a full bar and kids menu (although I couldn't find it on the website - I took a picture so look for it). The kids quesadilla was awesome! The grill is also good - lots to choose from (although no shrimp). I've been here a few times and always leave full and happy.

My teenage grandson & his buddy love this place. Me - not so much. Today was my second visit. Had run the waiter down to get a fork! Last time I ordered tandoori chicken on a stick. It was recommended by the waiter & it was delicious. This time I ordered Korean BBQ beef on a stick. It had been cooked to death. Texture of beef jerky. It came with five skinny stalks of asparagus. Best part of the meal. The guys got large bowls at the buffet and gobbled them right down. So maybe I found a dish to avoid. Grandson likes this place so much I know I'll be back. Maybe more later.

Decent food if you build your own, but lacking in service: Ordered off the menu while rest of table had build-your-own. Rest of party received and finished their food before mine arrived. Asked for manager. the Manager, Chris, delayed and didn't came to table until he had food in hand. Wasn't apologetic or reconciliatory in any way, said he would find out what happened. He then disappeared and never returned, nor came back on the floor. Overall, very disappointing experience. 8/15 at about 7:15pm

[For the N00bs] : You throw your own bowl together, and the kitchen staff stir fry it and send it out to your table. Don't worry about saving room in your bowl for the starch, that gets added @ the grill. If you feel like pigging-out, fork out $3 && you've got yourself a buffet. _________________________ MASCARPONE CHEESECAKE (4.5 stars): Deliciously rich and smooth. POMBERRY DESSERT (4.5 stars): Cutest girliest cake I've ever seen. It tastes like a berry go-gurt yogurt, only in mousse form. PRINCESS PINEAPPLE COCONUT CAKE (4 stars): Ãœber sweet. Think Fanta pineapple soda minus the carbonation. _________________________ [SERVICE] : I've been waited on by a server who doesn't have basic bar knowledge (I ordered a prosecco, and he brought out some other white wine. It doesn't take a sommelier to know that sparkling wines are bubbly). I kept it anyway (but barely drank from it), wine is an expensive inventory to just toss out. And then I've been waited on by quality servers like Ashley, who's the type to go above && beyond. I came in for lunch yesterday, and I guess she noticed I waited 45 minutes for a friend to meet up with me, so she made occasional check-ups && small talks for the time being. Although it wasn't necessary, the thought is appreciated. I've been here a handful of times and have no complaints on service. The wine incident was a bit annoying, but he was nice for the most part.

Our server was VERRRRY nice! She helped us out in choosing the best drinks and food items. I got one of the steak bowls, and we also ordered a drunken noodle bowl. We waited almost 20 minutes for our food, and it turns out the cooks forgot to take our order. (I wish we had at least gotten a discount for that. We were fasting and had waited all day to eat! So of course we'd like our food on time) The steak was good, but the drunken noodles didn't have much flavor and was just overloaded by salt. I simply went because of a Groupon deal, but I won't be going again. I have other cheaper, better Asian options. I did like how easy it was to pay for our meal using the handheld device. You had options to split the check, etc.

You pick ingredients and sauces. The food was great and so was the pricing. Only bad side was when I finished my bowl I swore I didn't put shrimp and I did find some after it was cooked and brought to the table. My Gf is allergic, I would not bring her here even though they do take extra care with people with allergies

I used to go here a lot and this is my first time back in a long time. It will probably be my last time as well. We sat at our table with no waiter or waitress coming to our table for over 15 minutes. We finally waved someone down only to be given a card and the waitress walked away. The food is decent now, but back then it was much much better. The service was great back then but now it is just awful.

Overall not bad. This place is just like the other locations they have, except the service here was a little slow. I ordered an appetizer and by the time I was getting the check it still never came out :o(

I avoided reviewing this place for the longest time because, well... everything worked like a good Mongolian BBQ place should work. What spurred me to finally review this place is that they broke one of my golden rules of restaurants: If it ain't broke, don't F@$K with it! Let me preface by saying that for some people, Mongolian barbecue places are just too much too handle so they should by all means avoid them and stick to the likes of Chipotle or Noodle's & Co. For the more creative and adventurous diners, this is just an awesome concept, you pick out all the meats, spices, veggies and sauces you can fit in the bowl, handed it over to a cook and he turns it into a blissful meal far exceeding your initial expectations. I had been here several times in the past with various groups of friends and every time we had a good experience, food was cooked perfectly, service was outstanding and friendly, paid our checks and went on our way. Today, I went back with a good friend of mine and we noticed something was off. First thing I noticed was the addition of fancy touch-screen tablets on each table to take orders, play games (for $1.50 a pop) and pay bills without the need for a server (the rise of the machines is upon us!). OK, that's pretty cool, I enjoy gadgets and ways to make humans obsolete, go on. Next, a server shows up and discusses how Genghis Grill now offers meals that are already made for you. Wow, what a concept! That's NOT why I'm here though. I would have just gone to the aforementioned restaurants above. (minus Star) On a side note here, they have done away with the table number system where you get a red circle with a number on it so they know where to deliver your food, instead they ask you for your names and write it down on a card, weird, but it made my friend uneasy and seemed to add an extra layer of confusion to an already lengthy process. And we're off to the fix-in's line so we can make our personal culinary masterpieces. But wait, there's some dude there now behind the food bar asking questions like "which meat do you want?" or "how spicy do you want it?" "do you like Bok Choy?" who doesn't? but that's ALSO NOT why I come here. I want to do it all myself, I want to put 8 ounces of chicken in my bowl with 4 more ounces of steak and then pile on baby corn to my heart's desire. So, they let me, but it felt like I had to pull strings to make this happen! (minus Star) After all that commotion, uneasiness and awkwardness, the food was still good and I left satisfied but at what cost.... Check it out and let me know how you feel about these drastic and rather unnecessary changes.

Great food!! I used a bday coupon to get a free bowl... Daisa was our server and was really sweet! Reasonable prices, just a few bucks more than Chipotle...I'd eat here again

Def a solid spot to go to, good menu- only 3 stars because the place (bathroom, drink station, etc) needs a cleaning!!

Greatly disappointed after a single visit. This may be another West Coast vs. East Coast thing. On the Left Coast, Mongolian Grills all follow the same pattern - a large buffett of meats, fresh veggies and sauces that you combine into a creation of your making and take it to the growling grillers who load it onto a large shared grill. By the end, hopefully you have back what you put on. Oftentimes, they''ll share a little of someone else's as a little surprise - or even add/subtract from your order if they don't see it fit. The result is almost always great - you'd revist the buffett as many times as you'd like adn you have a basically healthy lunch for $8-9 and you come back many times again. This is simlar except in substance and price. The model doesn't work here - a single trip through a minimal buffet, sheparded through the process, was an over the top pain. It'd be tolerable if you could refill veggies/meat, but this is a one-pass place. The service was fine but unnecessary - they need to strip it out and go way lighter - the business model is proven, this just ain't the right implementation. The food was fine - but not properly delivered. For that, we won't be back and will keep hope alive a proper Mongolian Grill is opened here in NoVA some day. (never confuse this with real Mongolian, you need a muskrat and a bunch of coals for that).

We thought that this was the best place to go for fast food that was more on the healthy side. I'm not fond of Mongolian grill, but my husband loves the stuff. (I still really don't know why.) Still, I figured one dish, can't be all that bad, right? Well, no, I was pretty much wrong. I'm waivering between one and two stars, but I really don't know which way to go. The place wasn't offensive (except for the loud table of staff mixed with friends that appeared to be all hanging around and/or eating at one side of the restaurant.) The place wasn't dirty or messy (minus the HUGE box of I don't know what when you first walk into the restaurant). It was just a massively huge box that had no place being there. GOOD GOD, what was the manager thinking??? It's an eyesore. And the food wasn't inedible. But it just wasn't worth eating. The chicken had thawed and looked slimey and unappetizer. Too me, a cook who is big on sanitation in the kitchen... it just didn't bode well. I wasn't excited over the many sauces with the many sticky handles that I had to try and grab for pouring into my ramekin. So anyway, trudge through, hand my food to the cook. I go sit down. As I'm waiting for my food, I notice this one server who stands over the area where you would drop off your food. There a station peanuts and pepper flakes, hot sauces, etc in a box that you can add to your dish. He's standing there, obviously scooping SOMETHING out of the box of peanuts. And all I could think was, what was in there that you had to just stand there and do that? And could you not find something else to do in the time that you were standing there picking??? Having a hospitality background, its unfortunately one of those things that you do. Cant' help it. You notice whether there servers are around, or helping customers or just being straight up lazy. In this case, I felt like there were too many servers on a Wednesday night shift that didn't have too many tables. Not my labor cost, so not my problem. My dish was just not tasty, even with the sriracha sauce and other sauces I tried to compensate with. This time however, my husband agreed, his wasn't so tasty either. Definitely wont be going back. If someone from this family goes back, it will be without me!

This place is definitely out of the ordinary. I've never really been to a restaurant where you control basically everything. It would take me a while to explain the basics so I won't talk on that. The food is delicious. You can season your food however you want so I can't imagine anyone getting something they don't like. One thing that doesn't make sense to me is they let you control practically everything except refilling your own drink. And because of that, the restaurant has waiters. I think that's pretty lame. You trust us to create our meals which includes handling raw meat but don't trust us with refills? Doesn't make much sense. If you want something different, go here for sure.

I went to Genghis Grill yesterday (Saturday night), the restaurant was modestly full (good sign). We opted out for off-the-menu item (Thai Taco & Pan-Asian Salad) with alcoholic drinks. I thought the drinks are decent for a price though they fill the glass with ice. My taco came in acceptable time frame, but my husband's salad took forever. The waitress went to kitchen to check, but it didn't help. The salad came well after I ate my place (more than 45-min wait). How long does it take to assemble salad which is pre-cut vegetables & fried shrimp. I believe kitchen lost his order. The waitress came to apologized, but they didn't even comp drink or dessert. I already saw some other Yelper's comments on their comp policy, I kind of OK'd. The restaurant was clean except out table is a little sticky. There're Chipotole and CiCi's Pizza in the same shopping center. I'd choose if I'm in the area: 1. Chipotole, 2. Genghos Grill, 3. CiCi's Pizza. If there's no food delay and sticky table, I'd give 4-star, but they deserve 3-star for now. We'd like to try Mongolian plate next time, though.

I've given them a shot a few times. Nothing special. You come up with the blend yourself so its not their fault. I just think they are a bit overpriced. They can stay in rotation...but only with a coupon handy lol.

I'm not sure how I feel about this place quite yet only because it's a commercial set-up and concept of Mongolian Grill and not quite authentic, but definitely creative. Atmosphere: Spacious, bright, and decorated with gongs throughout the restaurant. Set-up: Buffet style. Price point: $7 for lunch, $11 for dinner minus drinks depending if you choose lunch/dinner or bottomless. Service: Staff is friendly, but not completely consistent. The hostess was very nice and prompt while the waiter seemed to pull disappearance acts quite frequently. Pros: 1) They do provide a few dish suggestions in their menu for first timers, but I would recommend customizing your own. 2) You can customize your dish anyway you like. You can pick from an array of meat and seafood, spices, vegetables, and sauces and then pick your ingredients to go with udon noodles, rice (fried, white, brown), or pasta. 3) They offer a full bar and sit-down area. 4) Presentation: I like how they separate each order by long sticks around the enormous grill (it's a pretty cool lookin' grill). Cons: 1) The risk of cross-contamination of meats (I mean, just like at any buffet, you never know if people are mixing the serving utensils) but they do tend to keep it as clean and organized as possible. Tips: 1) It looks like a tiny bowl to fill, but it surprisingly holds a lot more ingredients than you would think. Just be mindful of how you strategize the stack. Pile and pack as much as you can into the bowl, otherwise the outcome won't seem enough. The bowl itself is proportioned just right though. 2) They do not provide any "to-go" boxes or "doggie bags." They prevent anyone from basically abusing the process by not being able to load up on extras. Overall, GG is definitely worth a try. Our dishes turned out surprisingly tasty, and if you had customized your own dish and didn't like it, then you really have no one else to blame but yourself.

You stand in a buffet-style line and personally pick your veggies, meats and sauces. The assortment of meat and vegetables are fresh and abundant. They range from beef, chicken to shrimp. It's healthy, decent portion, service was just fine. And you get to watch them cook your plate right in front of you before you sit back down. Restaurant is clean, nice interior with Mongolian decor, friendly service and full bar. Go go go!

A lot of haters here... ha. Yes, it's a bit pricey in my eye... but honestly I've been making some pretty damn good bowls here. Literally being able to put whatever you want on it is really, really cool. I just wish my bowl could be a little bigger - vegi's shrink...

Originally reviewed at 5 stars, and it is still great, but had to drop it down because they bait-and-switched a bit. Since opening, the bowls are now smaller, so you can't really fit much at all in there and most people will need to buy the unlimited meal if you're there for dinner.

Good food, decent prices but more recently they seem to be more pestering about ordering additional items such as desserts and starters. I love the food here. It's a great concept, you make your own dish, they fry it up and you are ready to eat. Lunch prices are a little better than dinner prices so it's a better deal to come for lunch. They always seem to be clean and the food looks fresh. Waiters and waitresses keep my drinks regularly topped off. I've been several times and more recently they have been pestering more than usual about ordering starters and desserts. We were seated and notified about the dessert special. Asked once if we would like a starter, then asked at least 2-3 more times throughout the meal is we would like this particular dessert special. I realize they are just trying to add money to the check but its rather annoying and they need to lay off it a bit. 4/5 stars because of this. I'll continue to go here regardless because the food and service are good.

The prices are super friendly. $8.99 for lunch add $2 bucks more for unlimited returns. $10.99 for dinner add $3.00 for unlimited returns. The trick is to pack as much as you can in a small bowl. Service is fun and friendly. The grilling is like an open stadium where you can watch your food cook. Don't forget to tip the grill master!!!

I just found this place about a month ago. I am heading there tomorrow for my third time. I must admit, I am sort of addicted. I love everything about it. $9 gets you a bowl of awesome, and if your a fatty $4 more gets you a bottomless bowl. You get in line buffet style, fill your bowl with protein (chicken, beef, seafood, etc), then whatever veggies you want, your spices and sauces, and then pick a starch (rice, noodles, tortilla, pasta, etc). They cook it on the big grill and bring it to you. It is amazing.

This location has gone downhill. Actually, it might be that all locations have gone downhill. It used to be that you could load up a bowl with whatever you could fit, and that was a set price. Now they have decided to charge 3 different prices - small, medium, and large. Except that they don't actually alert you of this change, and they still only have one size bowl to fill up, so it is up to the discretion of the guy working the grill to decide how big your bowl is. My husband filled his up like before, and yes, he got a lot of food, but that's the game - to fill it up without overflowing it. They have a new system where an employee fills your bowl up for you, guilting you into putting less in your bowl. That employee warned us that if we put veggies in first, there would be a $4 extra charge, but never told us that there were different bowl sizes and prices. Additionally, I got a "regular" margarita, which might as well have been grape juice (gross). I had the watermelon marg last time we went here and it was equally bad or possibly worse. For $8 I expect a decently strong drink that tastes pretty good and their mixed drinks are neither. Overall it leave a bad taste in your mouth. If they wanted to do different bowl sizes, they should have different sizes to fill up and be clear about it instead of offering the same bowl size and letting the grill master decide what price you pay. We won't be going back.

Recently stopped by Genghis again to get lunch and as always, the food was awesome and the line to get everything was easier than normal. I'm taking off a star for the crap service I got. I understand that I am a person sitting by themselves eating and reading a book, but ignoring me for an extra 15 minutes before even asking me if I want my check is ridiculous. And did she even bother to stop every time she passed my table and I tried to flag her down? Of course not, that would be waaaaay to convenient. I guess if I want to eat by myself and read, I should just order to go.

I read the reviews for this place and one said that this was a step up from BD's Mongolian BBQ. Umm it's like 2 steps below BD's. This place has serious problems: one-- it feels cheap. The booths are not even bolted into the wall which caused me to almost fall as I was getting up, which at 9 months pregnant is NOT good. As far as the food goes, its less fresh and way less tasty than I expected. Looked like the veggies were frozen from a bag. The sauces were very bland too. I also think its really tacky that we have to track down the waitress to get second bowls. Are people in Chantilly really so cheap that they would lie and steal food to save $4 for AYCE? "Ghengis Grill" certainly believes so. This place is actually really over-priced too. Over-priced and low quality = the worst combo! When my husband and I were getting second bowls, two gnats flew into our drinks. When we told our waitress, she was apologetic and kept asking if we wanted to speak to a manager. A good waitress would have spoken to him for us and made it right. Later on, the manager came by and asked how our meal was. We mentioned the gnats and he made like 3 excuses and offered nothing to make it right. Not even taking the $3 soda off of our bill... Honestly-- I almost drank a gnat and that is disgusting. At the very least, we should have gotten the drinks taken off of our bill. A good solution would have been a dessert or coupon. We would have given this place a second chance if it seemed like the manager cared at all. Because of how we were taken care of, we will not be back.

Seriously their quality has sunk many miles. Looks like they decided to cut costs with groupons and other offers that they offer.

3.5 stars. I was pleasantly surprised by this place, which is in the Costco shopping center in Chantilly. We had a Groupon to tempt us to try it out, and frankly I wasn't expecting much. The place looks nice, but something must have been wrong with their exhaust system since it was a bit smoky in the rear by the cooking area. The staff is very nice and explained how they work. For $10.99, the dinner medium size bowl was good for me. You can pack quite a lot of stuff in the metal bowl they provide to build your BBQ. Since I'm watching my carbs, I asked to have cabbage as my 'carb' instead of rice or noodles. When the food came, it surprised me how much there was, and I was pretty full when it was finished. Everything looked pretty fresh, the selection pretty good, plenty of sauces, and the line moved pretty fast, and the food came about 10 minutes after we left it. Pretty solid place and not a bad deal for a family night out.

This was my first visit to this place and to be honest, I wasn't sure that I would like it when I realized that you don't place an order. Instead, they give a bowl and you go to the buffet-style islands and choose your meat, veggies, seasonings and sauce. Then, you take your selection to the grill and choose your rice and leave the bowl with the attendant. They give you a number for you to put on the table, and they bring it to you when it's finished. The food was absolutely delicious! I will definitely visit this place again. The ambiance was upbeat and a bit loud, but I didn't mind. The staff was friendly and responded quickly, answering questions and keeping our drinks full. Oh, one thing that I found a bit unusual was that the wait staff doesn't carry coinage for making change, so don't expect any. Overall, a great place for lunch (or dinner) and well worth the visit!

Good food and great customer service. The only downside was all the meats were somewhat fatty...especially the chicken. Not having ever been to one we were shown the ropes by an extreme helpful waiter. We'd be back to try a few different combinations.

I like this place, I think it is a fun place to go with co-workers. Everything looks pretty fresh on the buffet. I am a one trick pony going through the line, I pretty much get the same meats, veggies, eggs, sauce honey ginger and fried rice. It tastes good and I have both dined in and done carry out. They have a points card you use to earn points to a free bowl and a free birthday bowl. All in all... very good.. Caveat - I read a yelper review that they have gnats in their drink and I know in our last visit my friend advised the gnats were bothering her... makes you a little leary..

Meh, I've never had asian bbq that tasted like something from Olive Garden. Nowhere near the best meal I envisioned going to this place. Everything was just lacking. They give great size portions but if the flavor isn't there It doesn't work. All in all I didn't enjoy my meal at Genghis Grill, you can definitely fine a better place for take out asian.

Genghis grill is a unique concept and is a nice change of pace. It was completely empty when we were there so I don't know if the place is all that popular, but hopefully it will pick up. You get a silver bowl and are able to fill it up with all the different proteins, veggies, rices/noodles, and sauces you can fit and they cook it up for you. It can be a little tough creating a combination that will turn out well, but they provide some recipe cards to help out. My meal was overall pretty good using the recipe card with a few modifications. It doesn't seem like a lot of food, but I was definitely full when I left. I would like to go back and try it out again.

DO NOT GO AFTER 2:00 PM !!! Yesterday (Monday 10/14/2013), I arrived at 2:10 pm. No one came to see if I needed a table (or carry out). At 2:15, the other members of my party arrived. We waited 5 minutes before being seated 2:20 now). Previously, we would have gone up and created our bowls ... and taken an order # back to the table. Alas, a few months ago - they switched to giving cards with table numbers (and names). The restaurant was 25% to 33% full, with 3 wait staff, a manager, a bartender, and 2 cooks on duty. 2:30 - no one had come by to take orders/give us cards to go up and create our bowls. One of our party asks the manager to get us some service. He was rebuffed. Realistically, we should gotten up and gone next door to Chipotle right then. Finally, someone came by to give us napkins and straws ... assuring us he was NOT our waiter but thought we needed some help. He took our drink orders. 2:35 someone else comes by (another NOT your waiter). We have not gotten our drinks yet. He gets the first person. We remind him of our drink orders. The second guy then gives us ONE card (white background) The first guy didn't have any cards. Remember, this is a place where customers need cards to get food. Between two of the 3 wait staff - they had ONE card. The second guy told the first guy to go in back and get cards - while we started filling out our bowls. 2:40, we get cards (black background). We fill out the cards while we finish creating our bowls and give them to the cooks - making sure to note our table number. Our drinks are on the table. One was missing a lemon. Luckily one of us didn't want a lemon (so no going through wait staff for a lemon - best part of our service) 2:55, the bowl tied to the first (white background) card is delivered to the table. 3:00 we notice the waiter take a bowl to another table. 3:05 we notice 2 "to go" orders - we were sitting really close to the grill (otherwise we would not have seen them). Also, in our entire time there - we didn't see anyone waiting in the to go area. I go up and see that they are indeed our bowls (and cards). No waiter came by to make sure the bowls were ours (or to help) 3:20 - the third member of the wait staff asks if we need anything else. We ask for and get the check. She's the only one not to dismiss us/say we weren't her table. But, she also took an HOUR before making her first venture to our table. She didn't ask for our Khans Rewards card (it was double points Monday). So we got horrible service and no rewards points. P.S. My bowl tasted good [I was HUNGRY]. I've eaten here several times before. Just not during a dead time like that.

I love Mongolian restaurants, but I typically avoid the chain varieties. Well, I broke my rule and decided to give Genghis Grill in Chantilly a try. We arrived just before lunch time and were seated immediately. We decided to do the stir fry since it is a Mongolian grill. While loading our bowls with vegetables and meats, we did notice that some of the meats appeared to be very old (warning #1). I shrugged it off thinking that there is no way the health inspector would allow improperly maintained foods in the restaurant. We dropped off our bowls and returned to our seat. Twenty-five minutes later, our food arrived nice and warm (warning #2). Needless to say, our food was cooked immediately, but our server was too busy conversing with other employees to notice. We did not complain. The food was very flavorful and would have been much better if it were hot. Unfortunately an hour later, the fun began. I became very sick. I probably had a slight case of food poisoning. Fortunately by the next day, the symptoms had subsided. So, the food can be good and they have a good variety of vegetables, meats, and seafood; however, the service is not great and the digestibility of your food is a crap shoot. Good luck.

It's more of a 3.5 but I feel hungry right now and would actually go for a bowl of noodles so 4 stars it is. It's one of those places where you pick your starch and basically everything that goes on it. What makes this place different that others I've been too, is that they also have the uncooked meat sitting out for you to put in your bowl along with the veggies you want to cook. You also get to season your food. I was disgusted for about two seconds especially that I am pescetarian and hate to see uncooked meat infront of me, but once you get over that part and the food comes to your table, you'll actually get to enjoy it. Plus it's pretty affordable. Would recommend if you're in the area...

Excellent food.......... Did they get rid of unlimited bowls? :( Sigh.. only got to eat one bowl there.. But it did fill me up.. The chicken there looked kind of lumpy/mushy when I put it in my bowl so it could be cooked.. Don't know if that means it's kind of old or what. Nevertheless, it was cooked and still made my tummy very happy! ^_^ The waitress and server were very nice and attentive when needed. Honey soy sauce is really good! :3 Little sampler spoons are offered so you can try out the different sauces.

This place is delicious. It's a little scary since uncooked meat and seafood is just sitting out buffet style but once you get over it, it's awesome. I love how they have little recipe cards that help suggest bowls or you can just be creative and make your own. I always get the firecracker bowl which has shrimp, calamari, scallops, and vegetables. It's banging (no pun intended). I love how you can choose if you want brown rice, long ass rice (noodles), fried rice or steamed rice. The service is always great, friendly staff and the food doesn't take that long either.

I love a good stir fry. This place is fun. You go to a buffet and filll your bowl with meats, veggies, spices and you pick a sauce. Then you take you meal over to the frying sation and they cook it. If you aren't into making it yourself then you can order off a menu as well. Pretty horrible sevice here. I was hoping the service at this location would have been better than Sterling location, but it wasn't. I love the idea of Mongolian Grill and honestly the food is delicious. I just wish I could find a mongolian grill that has decent service. Here were my issues with the Genghi's Grill last night. 1. Took FOREVER for our waiter to bring our drinks 2. The tables near us sat empty pretty much the entire meal and so did their dirty dishes. 3. My families bowls came out way before mine. When mine came out they had pit the wrong starch in. 4. After I made my bowl they asked me which starch and I told them tortillas. When they finially brought me my bowl it had noodles. I told them it wasn't mine I had ordered tortillas which was correct based on the little cards you fill out. He takes it back and you can seee them scrambing and I guess they decide to deliver the same bowl with the noodles, but add tortillas. I told him again I did not order noodles. SO they messed up my bowl and I had to go through the line and make it again. GRRRR....by the time I get my bowl my family is done with their meal. 5. Drinks were not re-filled ever. Glasses sat empty waiter basically didn't check on us. 6. The tables are very close together with barely any walkroom aisle. VERY poorly designed use of space. . I won't be back to this location ever. Too bad as this location had some outdoor seating also...which would be prefect for a pretty day out! If you know of a good mongolian restauant give me a shout....I am on the search for one!

Let's get the obvious out of the way: this place has an odd choice in name. Genghis Khan was a mass-murdering maniac. Naming a restaurant after him is like opening a shop called "The Hitler Pub" or "Pol Pot's Wokery". Some people still talk about the devastation of Genghis Khan on their ancestors; context is everything my friends. Well now that that's aside, this place has an awesome and very simple concept. Their layout of fresh ingredients encourages experimentation. I often find myself combining chicken and spices with sweet fruits and brown rice, oh yah and peanut sauce. Definitely worth a try to eat here.

People complain about this place on yelp and I don't get it. This place is awesome! Its clearly not a fancy dine in restaurant but the food tastes amazing and I love the atmosphere. If you haven't been by now, go. Decide for yourself only after you've combined your own flavor experience at Ghengis Grill.

I've been back here twice since my initial review, and I have to change my rating. On the first visit with my wife and daughter, I, the one with a "cast iron stomach" had "the runs" after the meal. Maybe it was something else I ate, since no one else seemed to be affected, but the same thing happened to my wife after the second visit, with a group of 6. It pains me to write this because I really like the food, service, and overall experience at Genghis Grill, but this has happened too often to be just a coincidence. Honestly, I enjoy the food here so much that I will probably take my chances and come back here again some day when the memories of these experiences have faded a bit, but for now I can't do it.

Food & Price: I think its average price. Don't get the bottomless bowl unless you appetite is over the average persons....The food was typical of a Mongolian grill. I liked it but nothing different from other places similar to this. (To maximize your bowl, fill vegetables in the bowl before putting in the meat.) The whole reason for the two stars...Is like other reviews, service/management. Everyone is nice and tries to be attentive but they are a young group that hasn't been trained or managed properly. Therefore you have a management problem... My husband overheard the manager berating a foreign worker on the floor near the bar, which in my opinion isn't called for and is unprofessional. My service was fine throughout the dinner, up until the check. You could clearly see that we were finished with our dinner but our server would not come over. We ended up having to wait a min. of 15 minutes (or more) to have our check and get out of the restaurant. Since I had 3 kids getting restless, I asked my husband to get them in the car and wait for me. I think we will go back, AFTER the servers have more experience or if they get better management.

Genghis Grill is OK. Honestly, it's pricey. For food I have to pick, season, and sauce myself I should be paying less than $10 a bowl. I can make better stir-fry at home. The staff is very friendly, especially the bartender. I agree with other reviewers that all the sauces basically taste the same. It's really just another theme-franchise.

Just opened so we thought we would try it out. The place has a different twist. You get a bowl that you fill up at a Protein "meat chicken seafood" veggies and sauces station. The say pack it down in your little bowl and then you walk over to the round grill and pick out your starch (brown rice, noodles, white rice tortilla). Once everything is cooked for you they deliver it to you in a larger bowl. Concept is fun and the kids will like it. However, Sanitation concerns me because there is raw meat with tongs sticking out. And like a buffet, everyone is using and putting back into the raw meat. I asked the server if they are switched out frequently and she said yes. We gave it 3 stars because it was good and the concept was different and fun for kids. The menu was funny because there was 2 pages of food and 4 of drinks. Yes there is a bar there if you prefer booze with your stir fry.

We ordered chicken lettuce wraps, chicken was not cooked properly. Main stir fry was good. Customer service was bad, we had to wait for a while to get the water we asked for although they weren't very busy, also the waiter completely forgot about ice tea. We were sorry we picked this place to celebrate our cousin's b'day with a lunch here.

Went for lunch with two coworkers on a Friday and it was packed. Only had to wait about 10 minutes and then the food part went pretty quickly. Although I felt the bowl was a little small, when it was done and they served it on the rice, it was enough for me. We liked the selections and the sauces and the fact that you can just drop it off and they cook it for you while you are back at your table and then they deliver it to your table. Both of my coworkers had never been to Mongolian and they loved it. I will go back again and again.

I really liked this place! The concept of putting together your own stir-fry is pretty neat. When you come in, you're given a bowl so that you can go through the self-serve line and fill it with the protein and veggies you'd like in your stir fry. The bar begins with the proteins, ranging from pork, beef, steak, chicken, shrimp, calamari, fish, and tofu. The seafood selection didn't look that fresh, but I was pretty impressed with how my beef selection turned out. The steak came out very tender and juicy in my final product! After you choose your proteins (you can get as many as your bowl will hold, just remember to save some room for the veggies), you move down the line to add seasonings. I chose salt and pepper, garlic powder, a little ground ginger, some red chili flakes, and a dash of paprika. Then, you move down and pick your veggies! From bell peppers and broccoli to Chinese baby corn, there's a lot to choose from. You also can pick up an egg to put in your bowl if you have room! When you finally bring it to the grill for the chefs to cook up, they crack it fresh for you into your stir-fry. Lastly, after your veggies, there is the sauce station. They had a lot to choose from! There were BBQ sauces, soy sauces, spicy sauces, peanut sauce - you name it, they have it. After you finish you just bring it to the grill and the chef will ask what rice or noodles you'd like. You can choose from either white, brown, or fried rice. I didn't pick noodles so I can't remember what options they had with those. I really liked how my stir-fry turned out and would come back again. The only thing I wish they let you do is to choose how you would like your egg done. I love runny eggs with rice and it'd be cool (and tasty) if they could do that! Other than that, this place is great for a casual dinner out. Also get their strawberry lemonade, it's so good!

I'm a little stymied to read that a lot of folks find this place expensive. what fast-casual in the Chantilly/Centreville corridor is cheaper for lunch (or for dinner for that matter) beside Five Guys and that ilk. Discovered this place this week, and being fans of BDs up in MD, was very intrigued. I think it is fairly comparable in experience. We arrived at 4 on Friday, were immediately seated and the waitress led us over to the buffet area, which was clean and well stocked. Drinks were ordered. They have various iced tea (the peach was fantastic). As with typical Mongolian places, you build your own bowl. I appreciated the tasting spoons so i could sample sauces. Starches can be served under your concoction or at the side. I had the brown rice on the side. 8.99 for lunch can't be beat!

Absolutely FANTASTIC! What a place! Love it! Love it! Love it! Only wish it was not over a half hour + tolls drive away. Tremendous atmosphere. Tremendous dining room supervisors + a couple of talented wait staff. Most are simple, standard "wait zombies" just going through the motions. Hostesses often forget to tell the server that you've been seated, so don't let too much time go by without getting someone's attention. Don't even think about just getting a single bowl here. You've got to take advantage of fantastic value and food opportunities and go back for more! Try a few ways and find your zen. Food is always fresh and appealing. Always cooked to perfection and the what I WANT IT! Only suggestion would be to bring me my next bowl long before I have finished the individual meal in front of me. When it is really busy, could mean half hour between emptying a bowl of goodness and getting another full bowl put down in front of me.

Genghis Grill, heard a about their locations all over the US. Been there on a quite sunday afternoon... there was a little crowd as they opened very recently, my friends did not expect such an exquisite Mongolian Grill. Our waiter, Eddy, was really helpful, he let us know about all the special drinks they had and explained how to order food and the varieties to choose from... they have the bowl for 8.99 to which you can add the meats and veggies, I went with the Unlimited bowl for $2 extra which would help me try all the various dishes.. They have all the meats you expect in a Mongolian place, chicken, turkey, steak, fish, scallops, Khan's Krab, fish.. they should have added lamb too :) I started with some chicken and shrimp, i did not go with the regular dishes though, added some cayenne, dragon salt with all the veggies, -- they have veggie mixes too which is a good addition -- the tomato roast had a good flavor .. they have a variety of sauces, i tried the szechuan and Khan pao at first and added the red chili for some spice, for the second bowl it was Marinated steak, and some seafood mix, tried it with their hottest sauce, which in fact wasn't really hot.. turned out to be pretty good though You have a variety of Noodles, rice, fried rice, tortilla and brown rice for the sides... Unlike other Mongolian grills I've been to, these guys get the food to the table once you place your bowl at the grill.. Nice place to go with friends and family The bowls looked a little smaller than the other grills, they should come up with more spicier sauces, mongolian is supposed to be spicy as of what I know, as the place is new they do not have the hang of the grill yet I believe, as the food was a little burnt....

I received a flyer in the mail for the place a few months back and finally decided to give it a try and I was very pleased. I'm always looking for healthy fast food alternatives to add to my list and this will definitely be one. I was definitely surprised by the set up because I've been to other Mongolian style eateries and they were set up more like a take out and that was not the case for this place. You can order appetizers, dessert and alcoholic drinks. They also have a bar and our waiter was very friendly which is a plus is my book. The only reason I notched it down 1 star was I wish it was about $1 cheaper but hey that's me pinching pennies but I will definitely come back!!

Typical Mongolian BBQ restaurant, great experience for anyone who has never had this type of restaurant service before--grab a bowl, fill it with ingredients, give to stir-fry counter, and voila, customized stir-fry. I believe the first bowl for dinner is $11, and then $4 more if you're still hungry to turn your dinner/lunch into all-you-can-eat (not sure how anyone could eat more than one bowl, though). They have guides that tell you how to make your normal Asian carryout stir-fry. But if you're into making it your own way, I recommend being sure to use some salt at the seasoning station and using at least one sauce with a little bit of sweet at the sauce station. And I recommend adding an egg; you give it to them whole, they will scramble it and add it to your stir-fry. I personally like getting the Udon noodles because I like Lo Mein. Good atmosphere and service. Some of the aisles are a little narrow, which can be annoying.

Enjoyed the ambiance, and especially the fun loving staff. Nice fresh veggies and meats on the bowl assembly line. Delish sauces to add as well (I loved the Dragon Sauce, mixed with the Terryaki). The only downfall was the restaurant was packed, so it took a while to get the "ok" to go in line. They were accomodating for our party of 12, however were unable to give us separate checks.

I really enjoy this place, because you can create your own dish. The food bar is set up so that you can select your meat, vegetables, seasonings, and base (rice/noodles/pasta etc). The price is a little steep averaging $13 for dinner and about $9 for lunch, but I think it's definitely worth it. The service is a bit slow and your food will take forever to come out. That being said, if you know what you're doing when you combined those ingredients, it's worth the wait! Oh and you can get a rewards card which gives you a free meal after you buy a certain number of bowls- i believe it may be 10 bowls get 1 free?

Food and service is decent but I give them a huge "F" on cleanliness. The cleanliness issue seems to have persisted across our 2 visits that we have had over a span of a month. We felt that both the floor and table were kind of sticky - the kind it feels after you have not cleaned soda properly from a surface. The only reason we had to go back the second time is my daughter got hooked on the touch screen games - BUT NEVER AGAIN!!!

I guess this is the new trend in asian food, trying to turn a mongolian grill joint into something hip with beers and etc. However, when I go to a Mongolian grill, I'm looking for 1) an AYCE experience for cheap :) 2) lots of various veggies and meats to try This place only fulfills #2. don't get me wrong, they did a nice job of decorating the place, and have lots and lots of various sauces, veggies, and meats (Dr. Pepper chicken is good) However, not knowing what Genghis Grill was, and stepping into find out it's more of a chain like restaurant where you get 1 bowl of serving, vs keep coming back with your own concoctions is what turned me off.

Tried the edamame and liked it. Who'd a thought? Has a good spice on it. I got a steak bowl and was not disappointed... again. We're coming back.

We absolutely love this place. I mean, how can you not, especially when you make it yourself. The service, beer, and food is just great. The kids deal is great too. They get a bowl for 4.99 with unlimited servings. Both of my kids can eat adult servings, so this is a no-brainer. Enjoy.

I've always liked the food and coming here. When they first opened the owners came by and we got their frequent diner card and made good use of it. The servers have always been nice, although sometimes not the quickest, nothing went wrong. Until today. We came during the rush, but were seated fairly quickly, we order the summer rolls (terrible, don't order these) and went to the buffet line. All still going well, until the baby corn. "There are starving kids in Africa!" A worker (His name is Carlos he is also the owner) is informing me of the status of world issues. Thanks Carlos, but I'm not a your child refusing to eat my vegetables and I am aware of the conditions in Africa. Carlos wanted me to know this because "I've been watching you" (You just came out of those doors and that's creepy stalker talk) In his astute observations the three spinach leaves on the buffet line were done by me thus putting the blood of African children on my hands. I'm willing to accept this because 1. this outburst is holding up a monster line and 2. Carlos was being a bit too aggressive for my liking. I turn the other check and get one of the sauces (the reviewers are right, they all taste pretty much the same), but not before he tells my friend that she can go get her own sauce cup (they run out of these all the time) and I touched her ass to reach around and clean up more food on the buffet line (Carlos is not good at flirting). My annoyance gives way to anger and I ask a server who the manager is, he points out Red Shirt. I find out that Carlos in all his awkward flirting and aggressive world issue crusading glory is the owner. Awesome. We exchange condolences, he for the experience and me because he has suck a _____(fill in your own word, mine a terrible no good awful very bad name and offers a suggestion to what his parents should have done the day of conception, but let's keep it clean) for a boss. Well Red Shirt tells Carlos that I and my mildly molested lunch partner complained and he comes over to the table and asks what he can do. At this point we just want our food and to not have any more interaction with him really. We say nothing and apparently that's a trigger for Carlos. He begins a lecture about how he can't understand how there are people in the world (just me really, he's mad I exist) who don't think about what they're doing (it's a buffet). Even my grandmother never tried to lay a guilt trip on me of this magnitude. I wanted to scream "Dude, it's a buffet! I stepped on a whole meal walking through that line!" But I didn't, again Carlos was confrontational and as a women who watches Lifetime, that's not my safe place. I'm sure Carlos could care less, he is after all the Vice President-Partner of Genghis Grill's Virginia/Maryland market and we were just one table. And I'm sure he is doing his part with feeding the starving African children, but still I hope he gets caught at every red light for the rest of the year, if not longer.

4 stars A little complicated when u first walk in, but I have been to other Mongolian grills. This one is a little more main streamed. Im not a huge fan of cross contamination so be weary of the fresh meats. Lunch time was slammed. im not sure about dinner. $2.00 more for all you can eat is well worth it. I would recommend this place for anyone to try once. Also a fully stocked Bar. Huge plus.

Oh my god!!!! This place was sooooo tasty. We went to lunch and I finally got in this time after trying a few times. My boss and I walked in and it wasnt that crowded. We didnt know how the whole ordering process worked until the waiter explained and BOOM MAGIC WAS BORN!! I put a little chicken, marinated steak, fish, crab meat.....then chile sauce, peppers, onions and some spices (salt, cajun, pepper, garlic, and some other garlic salt). Lastly, I Grabbed an egg and gave it to the cook........BOOOOM A NEW LEGEND in CULINARY SCHOOL WAS BORN!! MY meal was soooooooooooo good. I cant believe I made that!!! They must have done something when they cooked my meat.......I KNOW I am not that good at preparing foods.....But, I am coming back here a MILLION times. All the meats tasted really good. The service was really good as well...........

Mongolian Grill on steroids! Great selection of fresh sides, seasoning and sauce. If you like Mongolian Grill you'll love this place. Friendly and fast service, perfect for a quick lunch getaway and plenty of seating. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Went there twice in one week! First time on Labor Day because Costco was closed. The second for someone's Birthday, we took the kids and they loved it as well. Both visits were great. Love the clean look of the restaurant, the food choices are great, everything from seafood to beef. You select the food (veggies, protein) the sauce and they cook it, there is something for everyone. It all depens on your tastes, it should be good, after all you are responsible for selecting what you want. I am impressed with their precautions regarding food allergies, of which I have many, takes them longer to cook it, but better to be safe than sorry. I would go there again in a heart beat.. My only complaint, and it's really so minor it should not make a difference, if only the food were Organic..

We were excited to try this Mongolian BBQ. The variety of vegetables is not very good ans the few they have look like they came out of a frozen package. The meat did not look horrible but not great. The worst thing was the sauce because it had no flavor. The food came to the table hot but did not have any flavor from the sauce. It also did not have that good Mongolian BBQ flavor either. The server let drinks go unfilled for the entire meal. He never ask to refill it at all. The service was bad but to be honest the food will keep us from coming here again.

Wait staff is rude and the general manager doesn't care that they are. Prices are a tad high but I love the concept. I won't be coming back because of the way my wife was treated today. Her foot is in a boot due to recent surgery. The hostess was about to seat us as far from the food bar as possible. When I asked to sit closer to the food bar the hostess responded with "You have got to be kidding me!" She was then offended when we left without sitting down. A quick call to the general manager resulted in him asking me to return to the building for a free bowl of food. When I told him that I didn't want to eat there he responded by telling me there was nothing he could do about his employee. This was a bad customer service even by Northern Virginia standards. I won't be going back.

I agree with Leslie J. I went with a group of 13 folks and the customer service is good. The manager stopped by and asked us how is the food. Same with the waiter. Although we say the food is good, what GG would do if we say food is not so tasty is unknown. Anyway, I thought I learned some tips. It may take a while to prepare the bowl to your taste. First of all, if you don't cook or not familiar with cooking, my take is to stay away unless you're a person who would try any. The key is the combination of right ingredients with correct quantity. The salt, seasoning with spice, choosing the right veggies with or without meat, finally the sauce make the ultimate. GG has tried to help, but I like to try with a simple menu of a meat/veggie+noodle/rice/some carb+a sauce - call with a common food name such as Fettuccine Alfredo or Fried rice or Burrito or a Burger.

Genghis Grill is great! I am new to the area and was looking for something different than your boring Chipotle and Five Guy joints. This place was awesome! Great atmosphere, great food selection (make your own bowl? Hello?! Genius!!!) and the staff was top notch. Drinks were always filled, smile on their face and very attentive. The Manager even stopped by just to make sure everything was ok. Definitely somewhere I will revisit time and time again :)

I've been to Genghis Grill a couple of times now and have really enjoyed it. The food is great (since I pick all the ingredients!) and service has been good both times. I certainly recommend it!

Pretty cool concept, you go on a line and pack your "bowl" full of meat and veggies. You pick your sauce and seasoning and then take it to a grill where the chef cooks it for you, Japanese Steakhouse style. You then go sit down and they bring you the food. The food is OK, nothing too special. Make sure you pack your bowl as much as you can, I made the mistake of being conservative. I can't tell you if you'll like it because I don't know how you will make your bowl since there are so many choices. The meat tasted good and the veggies looked fresh. Give it a try, but don't come in with super high expectations.

Genghis Grill just opened up and decided to give it a try, while not terrible; I see no reason to go there again. (out of 5) Atmosphere - *** The interior is new and clean looking, Genghis Khan jokes pepper the decorations and menu, while a very large grill dominates the back of the restaurant. Every one and a while the chefs will set the grill ablaze and ring a gong, celebrating the display of fire. However, while the place has flair some of the essentials were lacking, the floor was sticky in several places and the isles between the tables were especially cramped, if you sat with your back to the isle you feel people brushing behind you constantly. Menu - ** The menu it's self is a colorful affair, filled with stuff you would not think to find at an "Asian" restaurant, such as fruity margaritas , martinis and heavy deserts (brownies, cheesecake). It reminded me of a TGIF without any of the dinner or appetizer choices. The only main dinner options were Mongolian bowl for $11, or all you can eat bowl for $14. I was too afraid to try the drinks or dessert so I cannot comment on those, except for the fact they felt very out of place. Food - * Easily the worst thing about Genghis Grill is the food. Those familiar with Mongolian grill now the basics, you get a bowl, fill it with your choice of meats , veggies and sauce from a bar, and you hand it to the chef at the grill where he cooks it for you. (in this case, the chef also added the rice or noodles) -The meat: there were quite a few meet options, however the majority of them looked disgusting. There was greyish pre-sliced pepperoni that looked like it was straight from a package, and sausage that was clearly just Hillshire farms links sliced up. The steak consisted of overlarge chunks that could never cook well on a Mongolian grill, I passed on that too. There was no lamb option, so the only choice left to me that actually looked any kind of decent was the chicken. Please note all the meat was recently or still frozen, which is what I hope gave the meats their grey tinge. -The Veggies: Nothing more than frozen vegetables, as if you bought them yourself from the grocery store. -The spices/herbs: The herbs at least looked fresh, and there was a variety of spices to choose from, but nothing that you could not have picked up yourself, plus I suspect one of them was just re-labeled old bay. -The Sauce: Despite the fact there were 10 different sauces to chose from, every single sauce tasted the same. They all had a BBQ sauce consistency and were loaded with sugar, even the spiciest sauce was over sweet. What is the point of desiging my own meal when the only thing I can make it taste like is general tso's. -The Rice: Just terrible, overcooked, mushy, and tasted like what I used to get at D2 (Virginia tech cafeteria) My girlfriend hated it so much she gave up eating after trying twice to make a bowl she liked; this is the first time in seven years I have seen her not eat dinner because of how bad it tasted. Service - *** We were seated quickly, and there were no problems when we asked for a new seat due to the aforementioned sticky floor. Our waitress was polite, prompt, and even showed you how to order your food, walking you through the different ingredients and choices available. However, the manager did not speak much English and we had a hard time explaining to him that I wanted my girlfriends meal taken off the bill, also I saw two (of what I hope were waiters and not kitchen staff) smoking pot in the bathroom. Overall- Too cheap to call it a waste if you wanted to try it once, but you are not missing anything if you skip this place.

Went for dinner last night. The waitress was very nice and explained the process of picking your protien, veggy, sauce and starch. After giving my selection to the stir fry cook, I sat down and watched as other people sections came out. Some tables would get only 1 or 2 out of 4 dishes and the others had to wait while to staff returned to get the rest. While waiting, the hostess seated a family with 2 babies right next to us in our bench seat. The baby cried, the toddler jumped around and the father kept on yelling at them.(Hostesses should be trained to not put young families with middle aged couples) My husband and I received our meal, except that it wasn't mine, so I told the waitress, she took it away and wondered around for a while and brought me something else, again someone elses meal. They couldn't find mine, so I had to go back and pick all my stuff again and sit while my husband sat in front of his meal while it got cold. ( I wonder if 2 or 3 other people were eating the wrong dinner.... what happened to mine?), The dinner was fair, but the manager never came to appoligize and didn't offer any discount off our bill. Will not go back, pricey, loud, and unorganized.

I have been to a number of these (BD's Mongolian BBQ, Flat Top) and this is a little better. BD's is a bit harder to get a nice tasting dish. They are the most entertaining crews though. Flat Top, though the fanciest, since you can take your food and have it turned into soup, wrapped in tortillas, or add extras like grilled shrimp to it, uses sauces that are the easiest to screw up, this one is hands down the best sauces and meat/veggie selection. You are guaranteed that everything will go well together. When I'd go to the others for lunch, for example, I would never experiment - always go with the standard dish that works. This place, you can experiment and be pretty sure that everything is going to taste great.

This place recently opened in Chantilly, and as I'm always looking for new places to try, I figured I'd give it a go. The food was OK. $10.99 for a bowl at dinner which to me, is not worth the price. There were so many servers at the host station when I go there I felt a bit overwhelmed. They all started talking to me at once, and then 2 were arguing about who was next in the rotation. (Not that it mattered anyway, I didn't seem to have a clear defined server). I realize they're probably training but wow. The food was OK, nothing spectacular. I feel that If I'm going to pay $11 for a dish, I don't want to do that much work for it. There is a buffet style line where you pick your meat first, and once you to your tiny doggy dish metal bowl is full. Then you season it with your choice of about 10 seasonings. The next step is my main concern: You are supposed to delicately balance your vegetables on a pile atop your meat. They tell you to "Pack it down". Let's say I chose Shrimp or Scallops for my meat, then I pick up the tongs and add some veggies and "Pack them down" with my tongs...because who wants to touch raw meat out at dinner...my veggie tongs just touched a bunch of shellfish. The next person in line is deathly allergic to shellfish. *ALLERGY ALERT!!!!!!!* Are they trying to kill people? They ask you when you get to the grill if you have allergies, way too late. OK, so after that you pick your sauce, blah blah let's get to eating already! I got Udon noodles (Which were soggy) my buddy got tortillas (He got 2 of the smallest tortillas I've ever seen) and my other bud got fried rice (yukkk) I guess if I was reallllly hungry I'd go and pay the $14 for a bottomless bowl but really I'd rather to to Korshi in Centreville during lunch, pay the same price and have way better food and more choices.

I really enjoyed this place. Nice atmosphere and decor. I like the fact that you can create your own stir fry. I pretty much threw in whatever I could in my bowl not knowing how it would taste, but was surprised by how it came out. Looking forward to the new one in Sterling opening up since it is closer to where I live.

Delicious! (IF you know what you're doing.) If you're unfamiliar with Asian flavor combinations, follow one of the premade guide configurations (like Garanimals for food) until you get your chops. In addition to the grill, they have a full bar and beers on tap. Don't forget to fill a little toppings cup after you drop off your filled bowl at the bar to be cooked!

I was pleasantly surprised by this new place in Chantilly. Considering the amount of choices, including steak, chicken, calamari, shrimp, fish, and scallops, I think its well worth the price. I thought the service was good, and my concoction came out to taste delicious. I am looking forward to going back and trying some of the other sauces with my food next time.

Delicious! I love that you can create your own stir fry with fresh ingredients. So yummy. For meats they have everything from steak to pork to seafood. Not to mention, the veggie options are amazing and fresh. I usually get the brown rice or udon noodles as my grain, but all of my combinations have been amazing. Definitely worth a visit.

Ugh not going to waste my time and yours going into great detail with this place. Here is more of a listing than full blown review. I like the idea but everything is off and makes for a poor experience all around. The staff were there to socialize among themselves rather than serve. Comments about being poorly managed are spot on. Tables were too close together. Barely enough space to walk which is even dumber in a self serve place like this. Staff wrapping napkins out in front and other maintenance work right by front door. Our bowls were wet and had food on them. Had to replace, gross. Food area was very messy. Tongs laying around. Food mixed in other bins. Meat had strange colors. Sauce bowls also dripping wet. Cooked food bowls came out in haphazard order. Some people after us got food before. I could have finished mine before the last in our party got theirs. The food was cooked well done which was good since I was concerned about the conditions. Expensive in terms of what you get for your dollar. Go next door for chipotle or the Asian place next to game stop. This place is about half a step better than Cici's.

This place is great if you're okay with eating fruit flies or whatever those things are flying around in the restaurant and sitting on the food as you put your bowl together. And the sauces were bland and overly sweet. Not going back.

fast and friendly service, decent vegetarian options, and both kids like it. i usually get tofu, a ton of vegetables (there's a good variety), and the dragon sauce. a caveat: don't skip the sauce - i tried it once with just the dry spices - bad idea. it can be loud, every time i've been there, a screaming baby seems to be there too.

I was excited to try this place because I love being able to select my stir-fry veggies. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in the service and the final product. As soon as I was seated, the waitress walked over and told me to follow her. I didn't even have a chance to open the menu. The waitress gave instructions so fast that I could barely understand her. If I had never been to a Mongolian grill, I would have been seriously confused. I loved that I could select more than one protein but I was concerned about cross-contamination. I selected chicken and marinated steak. I had no idea which spices or sauce to use (hence the reason I wanted to look over the menu before selecting my food). I had to ask for tongs for a couple of the vegetables. At the end of the line I told them my starch choice (steamed rice) and was told to take my number and sit down. Was disappointed that I would not get to watch them grill my food. My cooked bowl came out a few minutes later. The chicken and steak were delicious. That being said, some of the veggies were blackened and shriveled up. The worst, though, was the steamed rice. I was expecting nice, sticky medium or short-grain rice like I get in a Chinese restaurant. Instead, it tasted like instant rice that was not cooked all the way. When the waitress came over to check on me, I told that the rice was weird. She seemed really uncomfortable and started walking away while I was still talking. I ate around the rice. A few minutes later the manager came around and asked if everything was ok. I told him that the rice was not what I expected. He explained that they use an American rice rather than a Japanese rice. Even so, I told him was undercooked and he said he would check on it and walked away. Like another reviewer, it took at least 15-20 minutes to get my check. Fortunately, I was not in a hurry because I was killing time until my dog was finished at the groomer. I'll give them another chance, because they just opened.

I tried this restaurant with two other coworkers. The layout inside the restaurant is a little confusing and I guess that is why newcomers are assigned to a "guide/host." You are then directed to the food selection area. There are a lot of choices for meat/seafood and vegetables. If you are not really handy with seasonings, then it's just trial and error to pick from the different sauces. Then your raw bowl of food is dropped off at the grill and you wait at your table with a number. The regular size bowl seems like it's small, but it's actually ok for the average person. I think that the final taste will depend on your luck with the final combination of food and sauces. It's not an authentic Mongolian grill, but an Americanized version of it. The atmosphere was too loud for me; too much background noise. It won't kill me to go back, but I won't be searching it out.

We tried this place last night and enjoyed it once we caught on to the fact that we'd be "serving ourselves". At $10.99 per person, the cost is reasonable. We were seated right away and were able to get through the buffet line quickly. All ingredients were labeled in a way that made it easy for a first-timer to create a healthy stir-fry ingredient bowl. The bowl was then cooked and served in a reasonable timeframe. However, we were glad to have arrived relatively early, since the tables had filled up and the buffet line stretched across the floor of the restaurant by the time we had our meals served.

I just want to order something...so when I see things like chicken, beef, other kids of chicken, scallops, etc, I just want to eat everything. So I threw everything into the bowl. Same with spices. I had the good sense to use only one sauce. But gosh, I dunno how to cook. How should I know how much spice to put in? Well, I was fairly mad as I sat down - until my food came. Apparently I'm secretly a culinary genius - because it was delicious. :) So yeah - I apparently couldn't easily screw up my own dinner here. So definitely a neat idea. food was very tasty.

Do you like to select ingredients but not the actual cooking? Do you like to decide how much protein and how many veggies are in your meal? Do you like making new sauces to pair with your self selected ingredients? If so, GG is the place for you! I have been to a few GGs in Texas and today for lunch I ventured out to one in Chantilly with a colleague. The menu is a little different than Texas, this location had bowl sizes and even had a menu with select combinations of items (never seems sizes or a preset combo). I opted for a medium bowl and piled a little meat, more veggies, and plenty of the Mongolian BBQ sauce. Don't forget to choose a few of the spices they have but don't go overboard with the spicy options. The service was good, a gentleman at the end of the ingredient line told me about a free egg I could add as well as shrimp for $4 more. I went with the egg but opted out of the 40% up charge for shrimp! I remember shrimp being in the normal ingredient line in the Texas locations. The food came out fine but I did joke with my colleague about how if it's not good, you have no one to blame but yourself! The prices were a little on the high side, $9.49 for a medium but it wasn't too bad since it was a LOT of food. Would recommend getting a small if dining for lunch.

Similar to BD'S Mongolian Grill chain. You go through a buffet and choose your protein, then toppings and spices. The difference is you get to sit down while they cook it. Depending on whether you like standing there while they cook your food, that might be a positive or negative. They were fast and efficient. Our waitress was very proactive and provided excellent service during our lunch visit. Would definitely go here again.

One of my favorites in NoVA. Located across from Costco, my wife and I will wear ourselves out by buying three times the amount of anything we need before heading over to see Khan. There is a bar to get you started with a couple beers on tap including Sapporo. They now offer a full service menu in addition to their usual build a bowl. We always fill our own bowls so I can't comment on those. Pick one of three bowl sizes and start loading up your meat and veggies. The regular size is big enough IMHO. Don't stop at the top of the bowl but keep piling on. Mush it down, build a supporting wall around the bowl with snap peas or just balance it perfectly and they don't mind. Pick one or more sauces, a starch (I prefer the udon noodles) and hand it off to the chef. They used to have shrimp on the bar but now it's a $4 add on. Kinda of a bummer but I choose it once and counted 15 shrimp in there. Lastly, join the club and earn points for free bowls. I have earned several already plus a bonus bowl on my birthday. Enjoy!

When this place first opened a few years ago, I really liked it. I really liked the idea of building my own bowl and putting things I want in it. I unfortunately (actually fortunately) have not been back in about a year or two. Today, I went for lunch because I had an expired Groupon that I still had to use up the paid value. The guy in line behind me was telling his friend (who was a first timer I assume) that you pick anything and everything you want and to pack as much as you can in the bowl. He also explained to her if it's not overflowing, it's not enough because by the time you cook it, the volume of the food goes down. He then looks at my bowl and says, "wow look at hers! It's like jenga over there!" Haha, I laughed.... Anyways, to order togo, I had to go to the bar to order. The guy's name was Chris. He was friendly and nice as far as waiters go and such. By the time I got back to my office to each, I was not impressed with what I saw. Sure, it smelled delicious. However, the food was burnt and I could also smell the burntness. For the starch, I ordered fried rice. Let me tell you... it's the WORST fried rice I have ever had. The rice was mushy like it was for a baby. It was clumped up and didn't have flavor to it. Just tasted like it was just mixed with my sauce that picked out. I was just not happy with the quality of the food. It has gone way downhill since it first opened and I won't be back. Oh, by the way, there was a piece of sausage in my food and I didn't get any sausage... the guy in front of me did....

Pick your protein, add your veggies, spices and choose your sauce. The trick is to pick good combinations. There are a variety of protein choices, ample veggies to choose from and over 12 seasoning blends and sauces. You can also choose between three different bowl sizes. Adding shrimp will cost you $4 more at the grill. Lastly you pick your grain - choose from noodles and rices. Affordable lunch or dinner option that's family friendly. The service is a little on the slow side.

Loved this place when it opened. It has consistently slid down hill. This last time we arrived to a sticky floor and a pungent smell throughout. Staff constantly changes. Food, execution and idea is awesome. Kudos to the franchise however these 2 stars are for the location. Pick it up guys.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon with a big group. They were able to sit all of us right away because the restaurant wasn't busy. Basically, the waiter gives you a little card with your name on it, then you can go to the "buffet" station. You'll have 3 sizes to choose from, I personally went for the large. You then can choose your meats, veggies, spices, sauces, etc.. It takes skills to pack your bowl with as much food as possible. Then you'll be able to choose your type of grain at the cook station by giving your card to the staff then they'll indicate what you chose. A few minutes later, your food will be brought to your table. Overall experience was pretty good, but I would not come here often for the food with what I have to pay. I believe you're paying for the experience of building-your-own bowl rather than the food quality.

Staff greeted us as soon as we walked in and we were quickly seated and given instructions on how to proceed. They refilled our waters without having to ask and our food was delivered in a very timely manner. This go around I was a bit more modest in my sauce selection and my meal was perfect (last time I got carried away with all the seasonings and my meal was way too salty). The Korean sauce is excellent, btw.

Ok first off I love this place, the FOOD is what keeps me coming back. But every time I dine here the service is horrible. I came here with my friend not too long ago and we never saw our waitress up until it was time for the check. Now last time I came here with my boyfriend our waitress seemed like she was in a rush and was very rude. Her tables were all empty...ALL OF THEM. So she decides to sit two police officers right next to us. (No issues with our police officers) but really? Out of all of the seats, we had to be up in each other's personal space when there's a whole restaurant full of empty seats? Secondly, she barely even talked to us and never got us what we needed. We had to keep asking the host for stuff. The only time our waitress acknowledged us was when she quickly walked past us and said "you like it?" And dashed off. For the check she gave us all ones in change and didn't even give us the correct amount. It was two dollars short, whatever the food is great but camon seriously?

If I could give this zero stars I would. The service was just awful. All the meats seemed like they've been sitting out for hours. There is a major sanitation issue with this restaurant. The floors were incredibly sticky. The lady at the sauce station had real bad attitude. Sorry you hate your job, but don't take it out on the customers. I've attached some photos of the burnt food we got. The rice was rubbery, the meats were pitch black and disgusting. Never will I recommend this restaurant.

This place is a fun, creative and unique idea for stir fry, Mongolian style. You get a bowl and go through a buffet style line and pick all your ingredients. You go from the different types of meat to fresh veggies to all the yummy sauces (my favorite one is 3g sauce, it's tangy and sweet). Thanks to Groupon I can easily find a coupon in the nearby section and use the $10 for $20 deal, not sure if they have that deal anymore but its worth it. Everytime I've gone, service has been great whether it was the weekend or weeknight. So glad I'm not writing about horrible customer service like alot of other people. The manager has came up to our table the past 2 times I've came (in the past 4 months) and talked to us, ask how our food was and if we were enjoying our visit. You don't get that at most places even the fancy ones. The waiters are attentive and helpful. There's also these cool tablets at the tables where you can play games while you wait. I enjoy playing the couples game and the sports quizzes. It's so fun and a $1 to play, some are free too. I'm hoping my dining experiences stay consistent and I always leave happy. Food always comes out delicious just how I wanted it, service is pretty fast, and prices are affordable (only if you use every inch of your bowl). Definitely give this place a try!

nice staff, the food looks fresh, we didnt wait long at all before our bowls were ready. If you like to pick exactly what you are going to eat, then this is a perfect place. I am a fan of the "do it yourself" concept, and filling a bowl as much as you can is fun.

Absolutely love this place. We go often and always get our food fast and the drinks are on point. The service is always great. The only bad thing is that these are not located everywhere!!!!! I have to travel just to go, but best believe it is worth it and I will travel for exceptional food and service.love this place!!!

I wanted to try this place out because my all time favorite Mongolian BBQ place went out of business in Bethesda. That's right, I love the chain restaurant BD's Mongolian BBQ. I immediately compared this to BD's upon entering. Our waitress asked if we had been there and explain the way things work. It was very similar to BD's. You get your bowl (different sizes to choose from). You put in your meat, veggies, etc. The person at the sauce counter will let you try it and then ladle it. I didn't like that. I liked at BD"s where I could do my own thing. At the grill you can add your starch. After you let the griller know you get to sit down and wait for your food. You can also ask for additional rice, lettuce wrap, etc. They had one of those pay at the table and order drinks machine. However it was not connected and it caused me to wait too long on my last drink. :( Be sure to sign up for their club because you can get tons of free buy one get one coupons for bowls.

Went for dinner on a Sunday night with a friend. One of the girls at the door was pretty friendly but the other greeted us with a scowl and did not look happy about working. They asked us if we had been there and I said once but it was many years ago so I didn't really remember. She told us to follow her and handed us our bowls and walked away, I had thought/hoped there would have been more of an explanation or something. The meat was first and it looked to be floating in a tub of water, the chicken especially looked watery and I was afraid to even try it. I got some mystery beef (no labels) scallops and sausage. There was a nice selection of veggies that looked very fresh (not like it had been sitting there all day like the meat). You can add your spices and then you get to the sauce. There were so many, I had looked up the place before we went and had seen the descriptions of the sauces so I kind of knew what I wanted. Otherwise I wouldn't have known what the 3G sauce was which was actually my fav, they did have tiny spoons for tasting the sauce though. Tip: don't get too much sauce, my bowl ended up looking more like soup. Then we turned to the cooking area which was empty at the moment and it was a bit confusing as to what to do next. Then our waitress reappeared and asked which starch (noodles, rice etc.) that we wanted and if we wanted an egg or to add shrimp for $4. We went and sat back at our table and the food was brought over not too long after. A bit soupy as I said but that was my fault. The flavor was great and the veggies (I got onions, mushrooms and peppers) were tasty. The scallops had a weird consistency and a very fishy after taste. The mystery beef was tough and very chewy, I couldn't even swallow one of the pieces. They were also fairly big chunks of meat (a bit too big for a bite) but I could not cut it as you are only provided a fork in silverware roll up. The servers checked on us often and brought the check and box promptly after we asked. My stomach was upset for almost 2 days after, I wasn't violently sick like food poisoning but I definitely think something was not right about that meat. If I ever went again I would just do the veggies, noodles and yummy sauce. Everyone working there looked quite young and I suspect the meat may have not been being kept at the right temp. Worth a try but pick your meat carefully!

First time here and I'm pretty impressed, although getting your food can be a bit challenging at times with the overwhelming choices. I loaded up on what I thought would be the best flavors, but I was surprised when my wife's veggie-laden dish actually tasted better than mine. It's a fun place and the staff did a good job. I'll recommend it to many of my friends.

A medium-sized meat-heavy bowl is more than enough to satisfy. Add whatever vegetables, spices, and sauces you like. Starch (i.e., rice, pasta) is added after your bowl is filled. Then, voila! The good stuff is delivered to your table.

Get in line and grab a small metal bowl similar to the one your mom used to give you a bowl cut with...or was that just my mother who did this? You then head over to a long salad bar style setup which starts with various meats, then veggies, then sauce. You ladle your desired sauce into a small cup and head to the cooking area where you choose from a variety of noodles or rice, then they take your bowl and sauce and hand you a number card for the table. Ingredient quality is actually pretty good, but from a taste perspective this is a pretty low budget place. Lots of oil, sodium, and strong sauce tastes hit you over the head and have you getting seconds on drinks. Good addition to Chantilly for a quick lunch, but don't overfill your bowl as tempting as that may be or else you'll be headed for an MSG food coma.

Food is delicious. Service is okay. I wish there were two lines to get ingredients. It seems there is another 'side' of the ingredient tables that people could use, but they don't have it opened up. Also service could be a bit faster. Again, food is good so it evens it out.

Tried Genghis Grill for the first time and it was just okay. The place was decently decorated but you could tell that it was a chain restaurant. One thing I did appreciate was all the TVs since the Skins game was playing and wanted to catch up on the score and plays. But we didn't come for the decor nor the game, we came for the food and it was a little disappointing. I've had other Mongolian grills and maybe it's because it's a chain but the quality of the food was not there. The choices for the ingredients was good but the meat quality did not look too good. Small cuts of meat sitting in juices didn't look quite good. The grade of beef, pork, and chicken was a mystery as well as the cuts. There's an abundances of sauces and seasoning but I just couldn't get past the meat qualities. The service was average and the cook time was relative quick. If the meats looked better, I'd give it a 3 star review but it just wasn't that appealing. Would I go again? Only if it was w/ a bunch of guys insists on going.

The food here is good, as you can choose your own combinations. However, if you are looking for fast service at lunch, don't come here. We were seated and had to wait a long while for a waitress to show up. It appeared that she had way too many tables to wait. We saw her running around, but she barely came back to see how we were doing. It took an hour and a half to get out and back to work.

The manager called and listened to my concerns. He sounds passionate about his business and promises to correct. We look forward to giving the place another try for better service. The food is memorable, customer service is fixable.

Hi! Regular yelper, first-time Ghengis Griller! I love this place! I probably should have reconsidered making my own bowl as I was going all willy nilly with the seasonings, but I was very happy with it! The Cajun chicken is delicious! A very nice spice! I mixed it with some steak, calamari and scallops because......just because and topped it off with Khanzu sauce. This sauce is amazing! A very nice spice without overdoing it, which is good since I overdid it with the spicy seasonings! Laura, our server, was very attentive. She walked me through everything and was very catering. Definitely need to come back soon! Maybe tweek the seasonings and not throw 4 different types of protein into the same bowl. :) BTW, I saw someone's post about not coming here after 2pm on a weekday. It's 7:30p on a Tuesday. Not sure what the problem was.....

Genghis Grill, how I wish I could give you a better review but I simply cannot... I must caveat my review; the main reason for my 1-Star is because I simply do not like their food. I have eaten here many times and each time I come with the best of intentions. Then I eat the food and remember why I don't like this place; it's simply not good. It's bad, really bad, Chinese food. I don't think there's anything wrong with the food being prepared, the service or the restaurant itself; I think it's just poor ingredients which equates to poor taste in my opinion. Concept is great, but the taste is always sub-par. If I want really good chain-style restaurant food, I would not recommend this place. My recommendation, spend a few extra dollars and go to PF Changs or a hibachi style place. Hey, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and this is mine.

Last visit for lunch was unpleasant. They appear to have a severe management problem. Only had 5 servers and hostess was obviously instructed not to seat more than 8 tables per server. According to her seating chart, that's exactly what she did. New arrivals were told "15 minute wait" when the wait was closer to 45 minutes. Now at least 1/3 of the tables were empty, but no one was being seated. It was 1:30 in the afternoon and the majority of the tables were finished eating and waiting for their checks. Many tables only had 2 people seated, a few had just one, but apparently 8 tables per server was the rule. Many people came in, waited a bit, saw all the empty tables, and left to go next door to Chipotle or CiCi's. After 45 minuter, we were seated, order taken and served quickly, and life was good. If I was in management for this place, I'd be furious. Lots of covers just walked away. A new manager is needed before they lose too many customers for good.

This location was nice and the food was cooked well. Our waitress was rather slow with drink refills considering hardly anyone was in the restaurant at the time we went. They do have a full bar and the mixed drinks were very good. The funny thing is that we saw some of the staff eating Chipotle in the restaurant. The thing with Genghis is that you need to know how different flavors go together, everything from the meats, spices, veggies, and sauces. My 10 year old loves Genghis and is learning quite a bit about flavors. Generally, if it doesn't taste good, you screwed up the flavors. All the staff does is cook it for you and throw it on a starch.

Genghis Grill is the new place to get your Mongolian BBQ on in the DMV. I have fond memories of my first Mongolian BBQ experience at the cleverly-named "Mongolian BBQ" in Bethesda. Their quality was top-notch, but that quality came at a very high price, and they eventually folded to the lower-priced Mongolian BBQ chain BD's in Bethesda. But now BD's has closed as well, leaving Genghis Grill as the main option for moderately priced Mongolian BBQ. And Genghis Grill fills this void nicely. I hadn't had Mongolian BBQ in a while, and suggested Genghis to the wife as an option to fit our low-carb diet. (Just skip the rice, pasta, or tortillas). You can order single bowls in 3 options, or go with one of their "house" options that they make for you. But looking at the reviews, it seems service can be slow with the "house" options - and what's the point of going to a Mongolian BBQ if you are going to have the restaurant make your dish for you? Man (or woman) up and make it yourself. I would like to see a few more selections here - both the meat and veggies options are a bit more scant than they had at BD's. But I've found the beef and pork quality to be consistently good. The seafood quality is not as consistent but it's OK. Quality of the vegetables are nice, and I like the variety of options for both spices and sauces. Like BD's, they offer tortillas, so you can turn your Mongolian BBQ into "make your own fajitas", and with options like pepperoni, tomato sauce, and spiral pasta, you can make your own (basic) pasta dish as well. The all you can eat price is about what you would expect, and is a good value for the money. They also have a full bar that has various sake options ... but sorry beer nerds, no craft brew here. We haven't tried the deserts (remember what I said about the diet) but they have a few interesting options there. And each table has a touch-pad devise that allows you to order bar drinks, play games while waiting (for an additional price) and pay for your meal by credit card at any time. It's a nice touch. If I an hungry and need mass quantities of protein seasoned with anything of my choosing and a few veggies for good measure, Genghis is a nice option.

Service is kinda super slow ! Well, I came here with my frnds - 11 of them.. It's a Monday afternoon and yet seems to be little busy. Most part of the food is burnt... Thai Street noodles supposed to have basil in it - but I didn't get any flavor of that ! Ultimately I don't think I'll come back here again esp when I'm hungry and hungover from previous night's party. Giving 3 stars for the ambience of the restaurant.

The premise and facility is great. It's something different to change up dinner time. The cons are, in my perspective, as follows: -they cook orders on one open slab, separating them by what look like wooden kebab like instruments. Sometimes stray pieces of someone else's bowl contents end up in yours. No big deal, unless you detest something and find a bite of it. Good news is that they personalize to cater to allergies etc. so it's a minor nuance A personal gripe...I am literally sitting in the restaurant now waiting for my order. My waitress is nice, but is also a larger girl (absolutely don't mean anything negative by this) so therefore the running/bussing seems to be wearing her out. She is sweating profusely, and it is all but dripping off her face. Not appetizing to consider she has been handling my food and drinks. I've seen her use the back of her hand to wipe it, which made me feel a little gross. She should know that a hanky or quick blot break is more appropriate than being a melting snow cone in the serving business.

Went here for lunch on Sunday.. it was pretty deserted and we were seated right away. Our waitress was extremely friendly and chipper. We both opted to build our own bowl. They don't label all the fixings, or make suggestions, so it's a bit of a crapshoot for how your dish will come out. That being said, it turned out okay, but I wonder if the prebuilt bowl options in the menu would be better. We also had the edamame which was rather salty. Good things - cheap price, they have brown rice available if you want to make things slightly more healthy, and my peach (skinny) limeade was pretty darn tasty. Also, the little electronic game/trivia board on the table is fun if you want to waste some time.
