Went here for lunch after a day of food poisoning and so glad I did. Service was quick and the pho soup I ordered was delicious. Compared to other pho places, I found their broth to be quite sweet...seemed like a lot of star anise (sp) but with some sriracha and a little hoisin sauce added it leveled it out perfectly. All in all I have to say I did enjoy this restaurant, my only qualm about my meal was really with the drink I ordered. I had chosen Lemonade off the menu and at a $3.50 price point I was expecting some great Lemonade. When I got the drink there were sugar crystals set on the bottom of the glass and there was only a scarce taste of lemon throughout the whole drink. Honestly not that big of a deal though - gave me a nice little sugar rush! All in all, I'd recommend this restaurant.

It's authentic to a point that you will smell like pho walking out. The weather is getting colder and our craving for delicious Vietnamese hot soup is increasing! Pho Duong is only minutes from home, and to be honest, this place delivers a pretty good bowl of pho. Not mind blowing, but it will give you that comforting feeling that pho can give you. Here's to the pho! The broth of their pho is quite clear, and it's very fragrant. It's on the saltier side, and similar to the Pho 75 flavors. You'll be able to taste all of the ingredients that they used as the base. That bun bo hue! Got a bowl of their spicy beef soup and this one is not disappointing either. Not as spicy as most bun bo hue, the flavors are rather mild, and it's served with a side of banana flower slices (not cabbage!) Taste the crunch... Of the pan fried beef noodle. A traditional Chinese takeout, the pan fried noodles can not disappoint no matter how hard you try to mess this up. Seriously, who doesn't enjoy a plate of FRIED noodles. The sauce is much more flavorful than most, hinting on the sweeter side. The beef is superior to most Chinese restaurants - it's thinner, so much more tender and absorbs the flavors of the sauce much better! Service is quick. There's never any wait for a table. It's a pho restaurant, so do not expect an outstanding service. You go in, sit with your bowl, and walk out. That's the pho way!

I went here with my friends, as a last minute decision for pho. The restaurant was clean and tidy, but the service wasn't as good as I thought it should have been. All three of us ordered pho noodles; I had the all-meat pho noodle soup, while one friend had noodles without soup, and the other, pho noodle soup with selected meats. We all had to agree that the meat (which is a very significant factor in the pho experience) was not very great. The soup was more acceptable, but it wasn't the best I've had. Also, they weren't very generous with the thai basil, jalapeno, and the bean sprouts. We were given a small plate to share among the three of us. I honestly would've used all of it for a large bowl;;; I'm sure they would've given us more if we asked, but I was just slightly disappointed that we weren't given plenty originally. The prices were somewhat fair, but on the bit pricier side - it was $8 for a regular bowl, and $9 for a large; the special ones are a lot more expensive. Overall, fairly good for a local pho restaurant :)

I came here for lunch with a girlfriend and ordered my favorite Vietnamese dish- banh xeo. It was HUGE and oh so crispy. We also had the egg rolls (which they had mistakenly given us because we ordered summer rolls), but it was delicious and flaky. My banh xeo was PACKED with seafood goodness and bean sprouts. They were also very generous with the accoutrements (lettuce, basil, pickled radishes) and I devoured it like it was my last meal on earth. I have yet to try their pho, and they also offer other traditional Vietnamese dishes (broken rice, vermicelli bowls, etc.). The service was OK but very quick, as with most Vietnamese restaurants. Great place for a good and inexpensive lunch.

I took a Yelpers advice to try this place, and it helped to see a lot of reviews for it so I chose to give it a try. The restaurant is very clean, but I was only one of two people in the restaurant, the other person ordered take out. Yes, I went during rush hour, but I was a bit shocked with the amount of people considering it was dinner time. I got the summer roll and a large Pho Duong special. It ran close to $13. The summer rolls were great, excellent flavor and light to the touch and feel. But the pho was small and skimpy on noodles, plenty of meat though. I still felt shortchanged because of the price but the staff was friendly and courteous. It's hard to find that balance of meat and noodles, and it clearly had more of the former than the latter. While it was good, currently Pho 234 is the best I've found so far, but I'm still willing to try other places.

It's in the same strip as Sweet Frog and Bon Chon, right next to a deli. Coming out of the parking lot near Pho Duong, I smelled Pho-- which for me is always a good sign. I walked in and it was the traditional open seating (not closed off in own sections). I was early so I ordered the famous iced coffee--- and it wasn't pre made!!! (you can look at my other review for pho bistro to understand). I was so happy to see the mini coffee maker. If this is your first time, make sure you get an extra glass of ice. You can make TWO iced coffees with the one (VERY strong!) I love the fact that their menu had two sizes, small and large. I got the small mixed with all meats (I love all meats BUT liver-- they all taste GREAT). The broth was good and all the side veggies were the norm. Not only was the service fast but they were FRIENDLY and accommodating. Hands down-- it was like the Pho I grew up with (in Annandale). I'm so happy to have something so close. I'm not opposed to trying new pho places, but I know where my go-to is...!

Came here for a hangover cure and that's exactly what I got. I think that the soup base is very authentic and flavorful. Also, they gave a lot of meat for me and my friends phos. I think that the same amount of noodles and beef is added to sizes small and large but I guess that's just opinion based. The service here is also always the best. I used to be a regular at pho bistro down the street from this place but after tasting the broth from here, I can't go anywhere else.

Lunch included soup and entre. I would classify both as borderline vegetarian as there was little meat in each. A lot of rice. A lot of noodles. Really disappointed.

There's a lot of great pho places in the area but this is not one of my favorites. The portions are pretty big which is definitely a plus. However, the pho broth had way too much cinnamon/nutmeg. Maybe it was just this batch? Either way not the best broth. Bubble tea is also very meh. They did have solid spring rolls and summer rolls. On the plus side, they had excellent customer service. All the workers are extremely friendly and our food came out very fast. With all the delicious pho places nearby this one just doesn't stand out unfortunately.

So happy I could do a little dance!!!! Coming from a long line of cooks and restaurant owners I admit this was one of the best bowl of pho I've had in a long time. Find such a bowl of pho at your grandmas house(if she made pho that is); it almost competes with my mothers. I chatted with the cook in broken English, she sold her famous Bun Bo Hue restaurant at Eden center. No more will I have to drive there when I get the cravings. For my next visit I will order her bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle soup) and bun mang vit (bamboo duck noodle soup).

I would say this place has a very savory broth. The pho soup is good and it doesn't change. I also really like their summer rolls here. It's always been pretty fresh. They also offer bubble tea and smoothies. I've only ordered it once and it was a while ago, but I don't remember it being that great. From my memory it was more icy and not as flavorful :/ Stick with the food.

this is my go to pho joint in the centreville area, it's located right next to another pho restaurant and I never hesitate when I choose duong. Price range is standard for a pho restaurant. I typically get their combination pho and add meatballs, what makes a pho bowl stand out from others is the broth and the broth here is on point! If I don't order pho, I'm ordering their fried rice. This dish isn't on menu at a lot of places but they do it correct! If not in the mood for a soup based dish, this is a must order. From a service aspect, they do very well on a consistent basis. Simple things don't go overlooked, like constant refills and a server always readily nearby. Much better than the average pho joint IMO, the language barrier is there but can't knock them for that because the same is true for 99% of pho joints. all in all, they are up to par on all cylinders!

Vietnamese by blood, I have certain expectations of my Pho, especially when I've grown up on the homemade good stuff. This restaurant is an acceptable alternative than making the trek down to Falls Church for some Vietnamese food. The broth was light and did not leave an "MSG aftertaste". We were quite pleased with the portions of the food and are satisfied customers. The goi cuon / spring rolls (not fried) were fresh and tasty. We only sampled the pho today but my father raved about their Bun Mang Vit and said it was worth a try. We will definitely be back and are happy to have this restaurant nearby.

Bad food. Bad service. How do you forget to put soup in take out for pho? Lost my business

I love their pho. So good. I always get Tai Chi Nam. Nomnomnom. I am such a loyal fan to Pho Sate but they have a sate saue here too and you know it's great that it's located in Centreville! :) I love grabbing pho on a cold rainy day and satisfying my craving. Great service overall and people are so sweet! Try it!

I'm writing this review after having visited this restaurant more than five times. I've tried the numerous pho restaurants in the area and this one is my official go to. The pho is aromatic. The soup, noodles, and meat are plentiful. The bean sprouts, mints, lime, and jalapeños are abundant. They don't cut corners. Along with being aromatic the pho soup which is oh - so important is fantastic. I've tried the summer rolls, spring rolls, coffee, coconut drink, mango bubble, taro bubble, coffee bubble... All delicious. My wife has tried the rice and vermicelli and she approves. The service is fast and and extremely friendly. My go-to Pho. Great anytime but absolutely perfect for the winter. Ps. Great for when you have a hangover too.

I think it's the best Vietnamese restaurant in Centreville area. Their soup is not contain a lot of msg. The service is awesome, they alway around to ask if you need anything. They have more good food beside pho. I very recommend this place.

Great service and nice atmosphere. Very delicious and large servings, kind of threw me off with the spaghetti noodles though.

Thought I'd try a new place for pho. In my opinion, it may not be the best in the area but the pho and iced coffee was good. Service from my waiter was polite snd took my order quickly. Although the food was fine, there was a couple things to nit pick. First, there was a long hair under the clear plastic menu cover. My menu looked to need a good cleaning or replace the plastic cover. Second, the sauce bottles felt tacky I grabbed them to add to my soup. The hoisin sauce bottle had a messy overflow all over the cap. 3/5 stars due to lack of cleanliness.

I like this place! The pho and the summer rolls were really tasty and worth the amount you spend. The reason i am giving it 4 stars is because I also ordered a bubble tea and it wasnt good.

Hands down my favorite pho spot. Food is fresh. Broth is so tasty. Absolutely love it. Have tried other places in Centreville and they don't compare. Try it. You won't be disappointed. Tip: summer roles here are amazing.

This is my FAVORITE Pho place and Frequent. I go out of my way to go here for my fix of PHO. The service is great and the owner is soooo nice and accommodating. Our family is known here and they make you feel special while enjoying the BEST Pho. Try it...you won't regret it.

Best pho broth I've had! And I love the sate sauce they have there which marries so well together! They give plenty of meet too. Will definitely come back :)

Decent pho place about 3 minutes drive from home. Can't complain. Big enough space, about 30 tables and most importantly, place was clean. Decent pho around $7/8 depending on size. Good portion and good quality food. Saw the workeres eat the restuarnt's food which is always a good sign of clean/good food. Service was a bit lacking. My water cup was completely empty for 10 minutes which is a turnoff, especially when there's only two other tables. But defintely coming back for pho again.

Excellent pho. I have to begin by saying that I know next to nothing about how pho is "supposed" to be so my review is strictly based off how it tastes to me lol (keep in mind half the time I have pho I'm sick as a dog so my taste buds may not have been fully working previously). But hey, I've ordered from here about 4 times now. 2 of those times my order was fulfilled incorrectly (wrong noodles once, and wrong meats another time). Despite the incorrect order, the soup has always been great. Last week I ordered the egg noodle soup with pork and shrimp. I got rice noodles instead....but I couldn't help but notice how great the broth tasted. It was SO good. I wish that they would pack up some sriracha and that brown sauce (someone please educate me I have no idea what it is) with to-go orders. I also wish that they would still include thai basil. Great soup! I'm sure I'll have it at least 5 more times this year given how obsessed I am with their broth!

There are a few Viet restaurants in this shopping center. This is our go-to spot for Viet food in the Centreville area. The décor is bland, but it resembles the Viet places in Eden. The food is fairly cheap and the portions are large.

The food was great. For a Vietnamese restaurant I was actually a little shocked that I didn't feel skimped on the meat. I mean, by no means was there a lot. But usually the meat to veggie ratio is poor at nearly every Asian restaurant I go. But this time, it felt right. Service was also better than what I expected. Normally I would give any restaurant where i felt things were slightly better than average a three star rating. Because restaurants with this style cuisine set the bar a little lower for me in terms of customer service and meat portions, my knee jerk reaction was to give this place five starts. I feel it's actually four stars as you will get more than you expect here. The cubed beef was packed with flavor and very tender and, like I said before, a decent portion. The rice portion was perfect. Get the Vietnamese iced coffee. It tastes great and it's strong.

I used to go to Pho Bistro and 98 near my work but after discovering this place there is no comparison in the broth. After a night of drinking I wanted to go somewhere close to home and a friend recommended it. Can't believe I didn't know about this place. Great quality food, decent prices, and good service!

Oh wow I love every single thing on the menu. Their broth is sooooo flavorful and so authentic. Bun Bo Hue, pho, broken rice....was awesome and their bubble coffee ...yum!!!!

I haven't had the Phõ yet but got vermicelli bowl. I was expecting a little on the flavor side and for the price I was hope for two spring rolls not just one cut up into three pieces. Now the pork was good but the rest of the bowl left me wanting more. I will have to come back and try the Phõ and I will update this review.

Good place. Pho is tasty, price is reasonable, but.... So today, my wife and I went to get lunch here. We ordered our normal. The waitress came back a few minutes later and left our plate of sprouts on the table. I started nibbling on the sprouts as we waited for our soups to arrive. Approx. 30 seconds into me nibbling, the waitress came back, and in broken English, said "Sorry, not for you". She picked up the plate and walked to the table diagonal from ours. She placed the plate of sprouts that I already started munching on on someone else's table!!! Sharing is caring, right?! :-(

I am Vietnamese and this place is by FAR the best in VA. Wide variety of Vietnamese dishes to offer! Price is reasonable as well, best of all- service is SPECTACULAR! Thank goodness this place switched ownership.. previous owners- not so great.

My bf is a regular here. He claims its the only decent pho restaurant around. (And we've tried them all. )He will order here at least once a week. The portions are generous and they aren't cheap about the meats & garnishments. They did mess up my order one time but I believe she was new. Until we find a better Pho place,( which probably won't happen) this is our current go to place. The best Pho in town.

  • Diana P.

I can't help but order a regular pho tai whenever I go to a pho place even though on my way there, I think that I will try something new. This time, I ordered a 'pork chop with rice' vietnamese dish. The size of the pork chop itself was pretty small and thin but the flavor was very very good, especially with the rice + fish sauce. The dish also comes with cucumber, tomato, egg quiche and a bit of salad.

Been here a few times when i get too lazy to drive to Annandale. I decided to check this place out after I heard they got new owners. It was pretty empty which usually isnt a good sign. The pho is better than it was before. The noodles were pretty much the same as I remember though, mediocre. They have the exact same menu as Pho Hai Doung in Annandale. But I don't think any of the food or recipes are the same.

Stopped by for dinner tonight for my first visit after a friend had mentioned they are good. Interior is typical pho joint. We got the cha gio (fried egg rolls) which came out fast and were super hot and good. I also got the pho with tai(eye round), chin (brisket), and meatball. The broth was good but still could have been a bit better. Pho sate still wins the broth category. But the chin (brisket) was the stand out! It was thick and fatty in a pleasant way and really good! They also have a sate sauce which is decentish also! I was scared about the service from the other reviews but we had a man who was really nice though. This place is the best pho spot in the centreville area. Will not be going to pho bistro anymore (phew, cuz they were really slipping). Excited to return to try some of their other menu options!

Been coming here for years and although it has changed ownership a few times it's always been really good. The most recent change, which has been well over a year, has grown on me and I like this place better than ever. The pho broth is rich and tasty. When my wife or I get sick we always pick up the chicken pho (Pho Ga). They are aways so friendly. Love Pho Duong! Tip: Try that homemade red chili oil sauce that they have on all of the tables. I dip my spring rolls in it and put it on my spoonfuls of pho. It is amazing!!!!!!

This place is my go to place for pho and an ice coffee for to-go because it is just down the street from my home. The people are very nice and I don't feel they skimp on the toppings.

Stopped by here for lunch today with the wife. She was craving some Pho so found this place on yelp and decided to try it out. Has plenty of seats for large parties and lots to choose from on the menu. Place was clean and waiters were nice. We ordered Garden rolls. Fried spring rolls, Bun Bo hue (spicy beef soup) and Pho Chin. The garden rolls tasted fresh which was good. i go to some places where it taste like rolls have been premade and laying around for a while. The spring rolls were ok, nothing too crazy about them. typical spring roll you find at Vietnamese restaurants. Bun bo hue was good and spicy ( not too spicy). Definitely recommend you try this item if you are looking for something different to eat. The broth in the pho was flavorful and hot. Must have when having pho. Soups had plenty of meat which is always good since some places tend to skimp on that. If your looking for a Vietnamese food in the Centreville area definitely try this place out. like i said there was plenty to choose from on the menu. I will be coming back to try the vermicelli bowls and rice dishes.

This review is based on the newly acquired Pho Doung. I know the family who has purchased the Pho place and have been here a few times in the past 2 months. At first, service was a bit slow. I understand that getting to know how to run a business takes time to get used to, but service seems more fluttered than organized. You could tell many tables were waiting longer than usual for their food, for their water glasses to be refilled and for their bill. However, after a month or so, the service has picked up significantly. The staff here is always friendly and speaks English, which I know is a plus to non-Vietnamese speaking pho lovers. The décor is not your typical pho place. The inside is painted a pale yellow with a very colorful bar in the center of the restaurants that serves as the cashier and the boba tea bar. So as far as interior goes, Pho Doung goes excels further than your typical bland white walls of the next Pho joint andis very clean and modern, which is greatly appreciated. The food here is decent. The broth is a bit heavy with star anise and not as flavorful as other meaty broths in the area, but overall good. They provide plenty of basil, limes and bean sprouts. I like that they also offer a wide range of other Vietnamese dishes. Their vermicelli bowl is very generous in portions and oppings. Pho Doung is one of the better Pho places in Centreville.

Good, clean and very fast. I think those are the 3 most important things when it comes to a pho-type place. For the pho they pile on the meat. I've also tried the grilled pork and that is excellent (think korean-style BBQ pork cooked on a fry-pan). The employees are attentive and the place is always busy.

WHY?! Pho Duong! WHY? I'm a loyal customer here and for a reason! but, today, my lady & I weren't too happy...the noodles felt super uncooked (didn't eat it), the meat was skimped, and the soup came out border line warm... :/ it's 7:37pm which is dinner time and the food seemed like it was prepared carelessly... Poo! But ill forgive&forget :/ hope next time they'll serve on usual par... Rating: Edit 10/5/14: Seems like they stepped their game a bit. Sundays are now more staffed and always busy. Food was good today, and they got this new bean sprout which is slender and when steamed, taste alot better! Im glad i didnt have to go find another pho to regularly go to Rating:

***4.5 stars When I go to Centreville and want pho, this has become my first choice. Why? Broth tastes good, portions are decent, and... they have the spicy satay sauce!!!! Thank you to my boyfriend who got me addicted to this place and to the sauce. Only minor (really minor!) complaint is that they're light-handed on the tendon and tripe. But a lot of places are. They also have a variety of other home-cooked vietnamese dishes like crispy noodle, etc

This place ranks 2nd on my list of nova pho. It is almost Pho Sate, it even has the sate sauce. I suppose this is an ample replacement if you live in the centreville area and Falls Church is a bit far, but altogether not a bad bowl of pho.

This place is in the middle of a shopping center. You can't see the sign or know about this place unless you know this place (get it?). I didn't know about this place till my son and daughter invited me to here for lunch. It's not a big place, only 10+ tables? My son had the traditional beef stew with rice vermicelli. It looked kind of greasy but my son really like it. It came with big chunks of beef and beef tendon. I had the combination pho and I thought it was pretty good. My daughter had the grill pork and spring roll vermicelli. Overall, we thought the portion here are very generous. The price is reasonable and the food is delicious.

For a Vietnamese restaurant so far away from Eden Center, I think they do a fairly good job with the Pho. The soup had good flavor and the basil & bean sprouts were very fresh, but the beef slices were not as thin and tender as those at Pho 75 in Arlington. Spring Rolls were tasty, the Summer Rolls were okay.

Ate here a few times with my wife. I'd say its the best so far in the immediate area, but I'm still in search of a really good Pho place. West coast Pho still tastes better. Dont know what it is what it does. Even in Vegas places near my house there hit the spot... Otherwise good service andb still a descent eat.

Had this last night after reading some of the other reviews and I would say it falls pretty spot on with most of the 3-4 star reviews in here. Had the large bowl pho with flank and eye of round and it was a pretty good portion. Meat to noodle ratio was spot on and the sprouts and other goodies all fresh and clean. The brother was relatively clear and not overly greasy. A bit heavy on the star anise but otherwise very very good. The flank was beautifully cut and tasted fresh. The eye of round was a little to grisly - good fat but maybe should have been cut down a bit more to deal with the grisle. The interior is typical pho joint for this area but appeared very clean which is always appreciated. All in all, does Pho Duong do anything special or have absolutely amazing pho? Not really. But what it might lack in superiority is also one of it's strengths - although it doesn't really excel in any categories it also doesn't suck in any. I enjoyed the pho quite a bit actually, pricing is normal and reasonable, and I will gladly return to this place in the future. Would recommend highly if in the area and looking for a good simple bowl of pho.

Favorite Pho place in Centreville, (Noticeably better than Pho Bistro). Broth is delicious, lots of sprouts, basil leaves etc. Best thing about this place is they don't skimp out on the meat! I come here almost biweekly. Service is good but sometimes you have to remind them of extra things that you ordered. Spring rolls are delicious!

Ok. I love pho. I can not say I'm a professional pho guy, because it seems no matter where I go I love it. This place is clean and nice, in a nice area. People are friendly as well. So far for me, unless the pho is awful and restaurant a mess, if I'm in area I will be back!

Pho Duong opened recently in the same space that used to be occupied by Pho Hot (and before that Pho Lulu). There is new ownership here (I asked). The old reviews for Pho Hot are here: yelp.com/biz/pho-hot-cen… Anyhow, stopped in here today for lunch. Ordered the large Pho Ga with white meat. Soup came out quickly, steaming and oh so aromatic. I was a bit disappointed in the plate of aromatics/veggies. They were rather stingy with the portions. I would have liked more Basil and Bean Sprouts. The menu claims that their Pho is also served with Saw Leaf Herb - but I received none on my plate. I added the jalapenos, bean sprouts, Basil, along with the juice from a fresh lime wedge. Noodles were not clumped, chicken was tender, and the broth was very aromatic, rich, and delicious! I love their Pho Ga broth! Pho Duong could have earned five stars from me if they had not been so stingy with the aromatics/veggies. In any case, I will be adding Pho Duong into my Pho rotation! Service was good.

Just came back from trying Pho Duong for lunch. I would defintely recommend the pho here, very flavorful broth and small and large sizes are available. The staff were friendly and food came out quick. Give them a try if you are looking for some good Pho to hit the spot!

I really enjoyed my Pho Tai the other night. The restaurant is clean, pretty and conveniently located for appointments with my chiropractor. I was impressed by the extensive menu, but nevertheless went for my old standard. I will make it a point to try something new from this restaurant in the future. The Pho was delicious and the meat was thinly sliced and tender. I look forward to a return trip!

Food: Pho portions are generous. The grilled pork and rice (com tam thit nuong) was overly salty and tasted like the pork was dipped in fish sauce right before serving. I had to eat a big spoonful of rice to balance each bite of salty pork. The dish was also lukewarm. One of the people in our party had a do a mad rush for the bathroom after consuming one of the noodle soups. Menu was very extensive. You can eat pho, other noodle soup dishes, stir fry, or rice dishes here. Service: Below average. The server brought us a dish another table had ordered. Then, he brought us a noodle soup with thick noodles when we had asked for thin noodles. When the owner/manager noticed this, you could hear him berate him from across the room. Not pleasant to witness as a patron. Our beverage order came 15 minutes after we had ordered and after all the food was already served. The beverage order was also incorrect and had to be sent back. Bathroom was clean.

This review is solely dedicated to the service my family and I received today. I understand that lunch hours should be busy, however that doesn't mean neglecting table service. Customers shouldn't have to ask the waiter if they can order now (Another table was observed doing the same). Water and coffee shouldn't be brought to the table 15 minutes after entrees; oh wait I went and got the waters myself. Never did anyone apologize for this sort of service. If a restaurant can't handle the volume, hire more servers for certain times of day. If I could I would give their service 0 stars, but I guess we did get our food in a timely manner, which didn't require me to get it myself in the kitchen.

My go-to place for pho in Centreville. Pho Duong is easily, in my opinion, the best pho place in the Centreville area. My friends and I always go here for pho, and each time we leave satisfied. The service could use some work, but it's not a deal-breaker. I'm mainly there for the pho and not much else, so I wouldn't be able to say much on the other menu items, but I've seen dishes on other tables and they looked very appetizing. Now I'm craving pho...

The best place to get pho in Centreville. Whether its pork and shrimp egg noodles, beef stew, or your regular comfort pho, Pho Duong offers pho-nomenal quality for a great price. Its cheap eats, never too crowded, and has fast service ... in other words, its your one-stop-hangover-shop :) Although other pho critics all have their opinion on who serves the best pho in town, I always come here because I know I'll get consistent quality and service. An added bonus: they serve bubble tea! Although they frequently run out of some of the flavors, there's quite a variety, so I'm sure you'll find something to whet your whistle.

Pho broth was great lots of meat and cost is very reasonable $8 for large and $7 for small. Very open restaurant layout about 24 tables and most importantly very clean. They sell over 70 different dishes so different from typical pho restaurant. My favorite dish is roasted Quail and Pan Fried seafood dish. I will definitely recommend to my family and friends!!

The broth was really good, but the meat was so bad, it was rare when it came out, and after the color turned white, it was no longer chewable. Same goes for the beef tripe, like rubber.

My first choice for pho in Centreville, VA. Refreshing, savory broth (even in the Summer), nice size portions of tai and nam - and they will serve the tai on the side to add to your meat as you eat. Great variety of classic Vietnamese dishes. Eat here at least twice a week.

Went twice this past week. Pho is decent and they have other food and not just pho. The service is decent. The bubble tea is okay.

great PHO. Im so glad I found the place on yelp. I will be a regualr here when I have my hangovers. Soup was served hot and had great flavor with not a lot of onions in it. (im not a phan of a lot of onions in my pho). I also had a vermicilli noodle dish, it was greeat! Reasonable priced and the have a LCD playing kung fu movies. cool.

I had a hunch I'd have a bad experience here as soon as I walked in the door. In most pho places I've been to, you are typically acknowledged and seated upon entering the front door, but during this first visit, I felt like we waited a good five (5) minutes before being seated even though the guy up front saw me as soon as we walked in and with the lady passing us as she cleaned up after a table. They have a pretty vast menu which I appreciated, but we still went with the pho. We started off with an order of cha gio which came out piping hot complete with pickled and shredded daikon and carrots, lettuce, and basil leaves with the side of fish sauce for dipping. This to me was a plus because a lot of other Vietnamese spots overlook these additions and simply don't bother to offer them anymore. However, I did wish they were more gracious with the leafy parts of the lettuce rather than the short lettuce stalks but it did the job. We waited quite awhile for our pho, in hopes it would be worth the wait. When the server (same guy who seated us and didn't say a word) came by with our bowls of pho, he mumbled #20 and #29, and I quickly said "No, I ordered #22 not #29" and he just gave me a surprised look, mumbled something in Vietnamese (which likely translated to "Whatever little girl, you're about to get screwed" said "#22 ok?," served me the same bowl and walked away. OK I guess I'll take it...WTHail?! The overall taste of the pho broth was light and subtle, but still flavorful. However, my palette was yearning for a much deeper, richer flavor which was nowhere to be found. The pho came out steaming hot in huge ceramic bowls on serving plates for your soup spoons to rest on. The jalapeño slices were extra fresh and spicy that day which gave my pho the extra kick it needed. A couple squirts of sriracha and hoisin sauce didn't hurt either. The noodles were extra clumpy and required extra work to detangle, but they proved soft and tender in the end. I was disappointed in the skimpy portion of meat I got and was unimpressed by the lack of freshness too. We attempted to grab bubble tea on our way out, but the flavors we asked for were turned away each time the lady said "No, sorry we don't have this or that." Sigh, we gave up at this point plus the limited displays of powdered bags of bubble tea I could see through the glass counter were kind of a turn-off. No sense in forcing ourselves to order and "settle for less" than what we were looking for. In summary, my experience with both service and food were sub-par and unsatisfying. It's highly likely I won't be returning.

This place use to be my go to pho spot. They recently changed management at it shows, not in a good way. I've tried a few different dishes and all of them have been sub par. The pho is a little greasier than before. The vermicelli does have as much flavor. Now I have drive further away to Super Pho.

Let's get down with the brass tacks: Their broth is "meh", and we all know how important a good broth is to a good ole bowl of pho. My pho heart will always and forever be in Falls Church.

This place have another location in Annandale. But this one in Centreville is a lot better! The favorite thing I always eat when I am here is to eat the Mi Bo Kho, which is beef stew with egg noodles. Plenty of flavor. Soup comes with the beef which is tender, carrots, and onions mainly. The only thing is that they don't always have it. I guess some days they don't have it stewed up LoL!

Quick service. Nice pho. The broth is on the light side. I ordered a small and I did not leave hungry. The sprouts and basil are plentiful and fresh. Water was brought to the table right away. No complaints.

Still my favorite pho in the area. The broth is flavorful and not greasy. They give plenty of sprouts, peppers, and leaves. I always ask for extra lime. The iced coffee with condensed milk is good but I would prefer it served with the strainer rather than in a glass. I've had some of the Vietnamese menu items and they are pretty good but normally I go for the pho.

Okay, let me start out by saying, "WOW!" This is my all-time FAVORITE Pho place to go! Their Pho is absolutely delicious, doesn't have much fat, and is always, always, ALWAYS satisfying! My lady and I are always greeted upon walk-in and their customer service can't get better. Love, love, love their Pho. This place is amazing.

You would think that when a place has something in it's name, that it would be a signature dish. That's definitely not the case here. This was easily the worst pho that I've ever had. If this is the best thing that they can get in Centreville, I'm even more thankful that I don't live way out there. I mean, it tasted like they ran out of broth and just dumped some cans on Swanson beef broth in a pot, and put in some overcooked, flavorless beef. Definitely not a place that you could pay me to eat at again.

Tried this place last week and really enjoyed it. The pho was aromatic and seemed pretty authentic (a lot of pho places seem to leave out the star anise), seafood egg noodle soup was hot and tasty with plenty of actual seafood, rolls were excellent. Service was great to boot. Our server was a young lady who seemed like she could have been the manager or owner...One thing I did notice and point out to my husband who pretty much only cares about food quality was that I could tell they put thought into the presentation of the food. That's a first for a restaurant with Pho in its name. If you like spicy, ask for sate sauce, it's very flavorful and great for dipping meat in. I love sriracha but this is a great alternative if you are in the mood for something less tangy.

This is my go-to place for pho and bun in Centreville. While it's not spectacular, it's about as good as any other broth I've had, and the price is far more reasonable than the nearby Pho Bistro. I've never had any problems with service. My only complaint is that the sauce for the goi cuon is VERY sweet, whereas I prefer a sauce that's more peanuty.

I rated this place great before and the food is still good buuuuut there is a lady who is working here who is a mega b***h and rolls here eyes when we order more food or ask for anything additional... Can I please ask for extra water or lime or order a lemonade without the pissy attitude? it's not my fault you don't wanna work here. It's making me not wanna come back. Lady please check your attitude at the door bc you are scaring away customers that are regulars...

First time customer today, both hubby and I had the grilled chicken with vermacelli noodles, large portions, cooked perfectly and tasted great. The staff was very friendly and I loved that the restaurant was clean, no smelly old washcloths used here!

This is my favorite place to get pho and vermicelli bowls. The place is clean inside but we always order to go. They package our meal nicely so it never makes a mess and still stays warm. Their food has so much flavor and their portions are generous! They are hands down a million times better than Pho Bistro who charges WAY more $$ and has smaller portions. We go about once a week :-)

I think this might be our new pho place. I used to go to pho bistro, but i like this place better b/c it's not just pho. They have a lot of items on their menu besides pho ( i heard bubble tea too). They have Vietnamese crepes and etc. It''s pretty clean and while the service can be lacking at times...it's still better than fast food. They also accept credit cards.

I've dined here three times over the past month. Twice for dinner, once for lunch. Appetizers are standard and fairly priced. Their chicken vermicelli bowl is the best I've had in the area. The bowl serves generous chunks of chicken that are large and juicy. Like most Viet dishes, the best part is you feel full without the food coma aftermath. I plan to try their pho for my next visit. The waiters service have been consistent in each visit. Order-to-food-in-table speed is standard to other Viet restaurants. They refilled my drinks in a timely manner. I tried their mocha bubble tea during my first visit. It's very rich and does not have the watered-down taste like how most places serve it. A good dessert to top-off a great meal at this place!

Not sure what the haters are talking about, but for the Centreville area, this Pho has to be on the top. I guess the haters are used to eating main stream Pho. This place makes their broth very flavorful without discoloring it (sign that its really a stock and not added with flavoring) However, that said, the staff needs a culture class to realize that watching you eat, or eating alongside in the restaurant on your break is considered rude and uncomfortable. And on the condiments issue, there has always been the main two staples of Pho at the table. Not sure what they are talking about. Def choose this place over Pho Bistro.

  • Justin T.

I tried this place out because the pho across the street @ Pho Bistro is horrible. Pho Duong is clean and bright so the first impressions were great. I ordered a small bowl of pho (steak & brisket) and like most of the other reviews, it was oily and flavorless. I tried to finish as much as I could and left. I like to give places more than one try so I will be back sometime in the future to order the spring & summer rolls & another bowl of pho...hopefully they get their act together by then. Oh, and they didn't have salt & pepper at the table.

It was just ok. 2 1/2 stars I got the Pho with rib eye and tendon, with a side of meatballs. The broth was nicely flavored but I wish it had more depth. The tendon was good, however the beef was terrible. It had that smell of raw meat that sits out a little too long, not long enough to make you sick but long enough to be unappetizing. They were also a little light handed with the amount of meat in the bowl. The meatballs were mediocre and bland, at best. The jalapenos, and beansprouts were fresh but the basil leaves weren't. Good portion sizes and the prices were reasonable. The service could use a makeover. Not the friendliest place, and there was this hilarious Vietnamese talent show on the TV that was weird and entertaining. I'm sticking with Eden Center for Pho in VA from now on.

The soup is savory and its always yum when I go. Ask for the special garlic-oil (satay?) sauce to put in. It gives it even more flavor!

Hands down...probably the best pho in the centreville area. Other places around the centreville area is just to cinnamony...if you know what I mean. Prices are good. Their bubble tea sometimes not available...which sucks. But when they do have it...it's pretty good.

Great Pho. We have been going to another popular place in Centreville for a looong time. Last night, we tried Pho Duong and was very happy. Broth was flavorful and nicely balanced. In contrast to the other place which has strong salt and msg flavor, Pho Duong has more of real broth with a hint of that sweet-ish star annise flavor. It is great! The place could be done better. We felt like wherever we sit, we're very exposed to the kitchen doors, or the jumbo-sized cashier counter. Also we noticed the owner/mgr lounging on the corner table with a laptop and a pile of silverware supplies. Mmmm... a no-no if you want this restaurant to really succeed. I took a star away (4-star) due to the place concerns above. Food-wise it is great.

Not bad at all. To be fair, I don't really know many pho places in Centreville, but I do remember going to Pho Bistro once and absolutely hating it. Pho Duong, on the other hand, was alright. Portions are decent, pho is good, etc. This place will be serviceable until a better place comes along, I suppose.

pho tastes okay and interior is not too bad. and environment looks clean, however employee is not kind at all. I had to wait for waiter/waitress forever to get water refill and get check. well, its cheap restaurant but still customer wants better service than what they offers.

Not very good, broth was just filled with oil which just wasn't very appetizing, the noodles had an after taste like they were bad. A weird quirk we found out was they only do beef broth, so if you order shrimp or chicken Pho be prepared to get it in beef broth. The spring rolls were pretty good, good flavor. Overall the meal was below par, Pho Hot before them was way better.

    (2)
  • Mike P.

Have eaten here twice with the family and it's great. Our favorite is the spring rolls and the lemonade. Also, when you notice that you are the only non-Vietnamese customers it is safe to assume that the cuisine is pretty good!

I would give thie place 0 stars if I could. Service was absolutely HORRIBLE. We came and sat down and ordered a couple of drinks garden rolls and spring rolls to start off. and friend rice and 2 bowls of pho. I asked for my bowl to have no white onions only anything else on it was fine. she brought out our appetizers, but no drinks 15 minutes pasted by and still no drinks we finallgy got our pho I said no white onions cilantros was ok but there was nothing on it. I told her I asked for no white onions only and she acted like it was such a hassle to get me some cilantro then I asked her where was our drink! Its like she had totally forgot The service was JUST PLAIN HORRIBLE! and the pho honestly was nothing to praise!

Ambience/Atmosphere Casual what-you-would-expect in a vietnamese restaurant with obligatory "art" from homeland Vietnam. Located in large shopping center with ample parking. Bill Affordable; dishes range from $8 for noodles and rice and up to $15 for fancier entrees. I don;t think traditional Vietnamese food can be called "fancy" - if it is then you are being ripped off (I heard there is some place around DC that serves fancy Viet food named "Present" - meh) Drinks $2-$4 Cuisine Nothing I found out of the ordinary. I came here on moving weekend with my dad, husband, and uncle around 1pm. They ordered the pho with all the trimmings; I ordered com tam thit nuong bi cha aka #55 aka broken rice with grilled pork, viet meat quiche, and ... damnit, I had a brain fart and forgot what "bi" means in English. Anyways, strands of chewy protein is how I describe "bi" - appetizing ain't it? The hubs ordered his safety net - bun ga nuong which is grilled chicken with vermicelli. Pho - broth was okay, didn't look steaming scalding fragrant makes you want to salivate into the bowl and burn your tongue good. Side veggies of sprouts, jalapenos, LIME, and basil. Nothing to write home about or change teams. Bun w/ chicken - not memorable from the hubs POV. But not terrible that it offends you either. Decent amount of chicken, lettuce, carrots, herbage, and nuoc mam. Com w/ grilled pork et al - portion was smaller than I am used to getting in our native Eden Viet gangsta land shopping district. The meat quiche was bland; some of the ones I've tried in the past had fermented fish in it - which to a native is heavenly tasting! But here I felt it was wasted space on an already sparse display. Grilled meat was apropriately seasoned - no unusual flavors which is actually a plus. The veggies that normally come with this dish (tomato, leetuce, cukes, pickled daikon and carrots) were served in a separate bowl. This is ODD to me. I am very accustomed to having it ALL ON ONE PLATE and plenty of it. SOOO, if the veggies were missing then that REALLY shows you how little the servings were. In ending - I just want to note that this restaurant might be relying on its business from the local Korean, other Asian, and caucasian community. Which is fine now that Pho eateries are flooding the NoVA area and Pho noobs dont know what Pho should taste like. It's just there were no other Viet ppl in the restaurant except us and the ppl that work there - bad sign.

Service is meh. Sometimes it's quick but if they're even a little bit busy (which doesn't seem like they are) then service becomes really bad. Food is OK. My wife prefers this over Pho Bistro that's also near by. My daughter says it tastes the same. We'll come here because it's right behind my daughter's tae kwan do school.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Finally a Pho joint that is not stinky, dirty or has rude service on this side of town. The pho is amazing, the broth is fresh especially the meat, i love the atmosphere & how everything tastes like homemade, yup i said it, lol! I ordered the #1 pho combo that has it all, the large bowl was HUGE!

I've tried many many Pho' places and was desperately looking for something close by to our house. This place replaced Pho' Hot, which started "Hot" and then just went down. I was not surprised that they went out of business, but, was shocked to see yet another Pho' place open in its place. Bottom line, Pho' Duong is a definite winner. Outstanding Pho', very aromatic and fresh tasting, pretty good service (by Vietnamese soup places standard), clean and pleasant environment, and decent prices. We ordered the "baseline" dish there (Pho' Tai) and it was very very good, along with the grilled beef and rice for the kids, which was just outstanding. The Garden Rolls were decent as well, along with the bean dip sauce I do not agree with the other reviewer that they are stingy with "anything", portions or whatever they bring on the side. I walked out stuffed (and I'm a heavy eater). I'm just thrilled we finally have a decent Pho' place here close to Fairfax Station/Clifton area. I've simply been amazed at the lack of a decent Pho' place given the diverse profile of this area. Anyway, go to Pho' Duong, you won't be sorry and will definitely be happy this nice place has opened its doors to our neighborhood.

We are Virginia again, and we tried this Pho restaurant in Centreville Square. The location is not the best, and we had to use our GPS to find it. This is a small family restaurant with maybe a dozen tables. We really enjoy the Pho here. I ordered a beef stew with rice noodle. It was very good, authentic and rich. Pay attention: it's very rich and fullfilling. Empty your calories and starve yourself for a day before you try it. I am big fan now, and I will try this place again next time we are in town.

For restaurant that is local to me its not bad Pho. The prices are decent but the staff needs to be a bit more friendly and they really should not sit down in front of you and start eating I kinda find that to be rude and unnecessary. The Pho if find it to be ok but I think they need to work on the flavor a little bit and have a bit more condiments on the table then they do. Would really like it if they had hot sauce on the table. For the price of what you pay for its not a bad place to eat.

By far the best pho in centreville (believe me! We checked everywhere). The broth is delicious, the service is quick, the restaurant is always clean, and the staff is very helpful. Also, the portions are very generous. They have earned 2 very loyal and happy customers.

I like this place! The pho and the summer rolls were really tasty and worth the amount you spend. The reason i am giving it 4 stars is because I also ordered a bubble tea and it wasnt good.

This is my FAVORITE Pho place and Frequent. I go out of my way to go here for my fix of PHO. The service is great and the owner is soooo nice and accommodating. Our family is known here and they make you feel special while enjoying the BEST Pho. Try it...you won't regret it.

Reasonable priced and the have a LCD playing kung fu movies. cool.

Pho duong always serves consistent dishes. Every time I come here I get the pho with chicken (dark meat). I definitely have cravings for this place.

My favorite go to place for pho and one of the best places in the Centreville area. My favorite items on their menu are their pho, bo kho and hu tieu mi. Service is always good.
